A Broken Sort of Normal Part 8
WC:1175 Masterpost
Wherever they stopped was completely dark and definitely outside. As a cool breeze blew past, Danny was very glad he listened and had brought a jacket.
“You know,” Danny said as he climbed off Flash’s back. “It’s a good thing that you’re a hero, because this has mild serial killer vibes.”
“What?! No no,” Flash stammered before he dashed around the area.
Lights bloomed behind him as he ran, illuminating the space. They were in a field of some sort, standing on the foundation of a long gone building. The prairie grasses caught and sparkled in the light of the various lanterns that Flash had turned on. A cozy looking pile of blankets and a few pillows sat in the center of the foundation. Flash stopped next to it, shifting nervously on his feet.
“I, um. So there’s a meteor shower tonight!” Flash rushed to explain, the words almost garbled with how he was practically vibrating in place. “And I thought we’d come somewhere really dark where we could watch it? Since you like space? And I packed a little picnic for us too and…”
“That sounds really, really nice,” Danny said with a soft smile, talking over Flash’s almost panicked explanation. “I didn’t think I’d get to see the meteor shower this year, so this is really awesome.”
“Yeah? Okay, good,” Flash said, almost slumping as the nervous energy drained out of him. “I hope it’s a good night for them.”
“Even if not, this is… great, really great Flash,” Danny said. He made his way to the blanket, slipping his shoes off before he sat. “It’s been… it’s been a really long time since anyone has done something like this for me. Thank you.”
“Yeah? Wow, I keep saying that. I mean you’re welcome,” Flash said as he took off his peculiar boots and sat down next to Danny. “I’m glad you said yes.”
“You made me curious,” Danny said honestly. He picked up Flash’s boot, studying it as the other unpacked the backpack. “What are these made of to not just disintegrate when you run? I mean, obviously a polymer of some sort, but the friction it has to withstand…”
“Oh, we use a lot of the same stuff that you see in factories where machines produce high friction and some science from the automotive industry and even the aerospace,” Flash explained when he paused to see what Danny was talking about. “The shoes were pretty easy. The suit was the real problem.”
“Weave issues,” Danny said with a little nod. “Makes sense.”
“And chaffing,” Flash said with a grimace. “I have used so much baby powder.”
Danny couldn’t help but laugh at Flash’s expression. “I bet.”
“Yeah. Luckily Un—um, the other Flash had a lot of things worked out before I put on the suit.”
“That’s cool. Chemistry was never my thing, but material engineering can be really inventive.”
“There you are being smart again.”
“Me? Nah, my parents are just inventors. I used to do some work in their lab when I was a kid,” Danny said, setting the shoe down.
“And you didn’t want to follow in their footsteps?” Flash asked, his tone oddly soft.
Danny snorted. “Their type of science? No way. And besides, I never would have gotten into a good program. I, ah… didn’t do too well in high school.”
“No?”
“Nope. There was an accident in my parent’s lab with one of their inventions…” Danny closed his eyes. It was still hard to talk about the accident, especially when he couldn’t really talk about it. “Got electrocuted pretty badly by it. My heart stopped. Anyways, it threw me off pretty badly for a time and then I just never really got my feet under me. And there was this stupid bully and some other shit… sorry, excuses, I know.”
“Hey, no, reasons. People who think every reason is an excuse really don’t want you to explain yourself, they just want you to feel bad,” Flash said and bumped their shoulders together lightly. “Besides, look where you are now! You’re doing so much good and already a team lead. That’s amazing. Who cares about how you did in high school anymore?”
“My sister, for one,” Danny said. He sighed and rubbed at the back of his neck. “Wow, sorry, I really brought the mood down, huh? Show me what you brought for this picnic. After your pizza choices I’m curious what else you like.”
“Dude, you ate the pizza!” Flash defended, though his grin gave away his amusement.
“I wasn’t insulting your tastes, curious can be a good thing. It got me to agree to tonight, remember?" Danny asked. He was smiling again, despite the serious conversations a few moments ago. It was almost startling how easy it was to smile around Flash.
(Danny wasn’t complaining about that either.)
“Mmhummm, sure,” Flash said, ducking his head to hide his grin.
"Come on, unpack the snacks,” Danny said, nudging their shoulders together.
“Okay, okay, demanding,” Flash said with with a smile. “It’s a picnic, yeah? So have to have watermelon, but even better than normal watermelon, I have pickled watermelon!”
“Pickled watermelon?” Danny asked, taking the presented container curiously.
“Salty, sweet, tangy— the best,” Flash said. “And some little bread bite things to go with them.”
“How specific.”
“Shut it. Oh! Right, wasabi peas, a must have, and cupcakes for dessert!” Flash said, pulling out frankly extravagant looking cupcakes.
“You’re spoiling me.”
“Well,” Flash said. Danny could just barely see the blush coating his cheeks. “Maybe I think you deserve to be spoiled.”
Danny froze for a moment. Oh. Oh. This was a date. He felt foolish for not cluing in earlier. Suddenly feeling bashful himself, he glanced at Flash. “Yeah?”
“Yeah. I mean, like, okay, I’m getting that you don’t seem to think it, which is really like, so wrong, but you’re really amazing and nice and I mean, I’m just saying that I’m glad you said yes to tonight and since you said yes I’m going to spoil you, because, um, you deserve it,” Flash said in a blur of words.
It was charming that Flash thought that highly of him. Misguided, maybe, but charming. It bloomed a warmth in Danny’s chest that he hadn’t felt in a long, long time.
Before he lost his nerves, Danny leaned over and pressed a light kiss to Flash’s cheek, right above the corner of his lips. “Thank you.”
Flash blushed red enough to match his mask. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” Danny agreed and leaned against Flash. “Oh, look! A meteor!”
“Where? I see it! Wait, I’ll turn out most of the lights!” Flash said, gone and back before Danny even had a chance to tilt over. There was just enough light left to see the food without losing the overwhelming wonder that was the night sky and streaking meteors. “Make a wish.”
“Naw,” Danny said. He’d never do that again. Besides… “don’t need to. This is already perfect.”
“Yeah,” Flash softly agreed as he twined their fingers together.
-----
AN: The boooooooys. My, I just enjoy writing these two being all soft and cute so much. And hey! Danny clued in! What do we think of Wally's food choices? (Can you tell I've been craving pickled watermelon?)
Stay delightful, my darlings!
I no longer tag people, but you can subscribe to be notified on the masterpost!

Son of Saki Part 1
Aka Casey raised by Shredder now in fanfic form.
Bask in its glory.
.
"Nice work everyone" Said Leo, watching the group sparr with a proud smile. It was hard not to be proud, everyone had come a long way.
April grinned, spinning her fan. "Aw man, I'm pumped." She said with a sigh. Leo looked at her with a smirk "Oh if your still rearing to go April, I could fight you?"
April immediately shook her head, feigning a yawn. "Oh would you look at that. Maybe next time?"
Everyone laughed, grabbing their things and themselves off the floor of the dojo.
"And just in time for Space Heros!" Said Leo with a giddy smile.
He hadn't picked the dojo time when Splinter would be watching his soaps... And so he could watch Space Heroes afterwards.
That would be preposterous.
... And also very much true.
Leo wasn't fooling anybody. Raph snorted "You have fun with that, I'm gonna go jam out. You coming with Casey?"
Casey shook his head.
"Sorry man, gonna have to take a raincheck. My games coming up and dad wants me back home early. We're gonna get some practice in."
Raph nodded, sad but accepting. "Wish I could watch, seeing Casey Jones in all his glory must be a sight." He grinned.
Casey grinned back "You know it!" He patted Raphs shoulder "I wish you could come too, Red will have to cheer loud enough for all of you."
April snorted "you bet I will, and I'm gonna be extra sneaky and see if I can record the match to show you guys after."
Casey lit up and hugged her "thanks April." She hugged him back. "Your welcome, I'll try my best. It'll be a miracle if we can hear anything over your dad."
Casey smiled fondly.
His dad always cheered the loudest.
"Well better put on a show worth watching, Jones." Said Donnie. "Yeah! I'm gonna get popcorn and everything" added Mikey excitedly.
Casey grinned, bowing "Casey Jones always delivers." He declared before bidding them all goodbye and heading out through the tunnels.
Casey made sure he wasn't spotted, his vigilante stuff was stuffed into his rucksack and he his skates changed to shoes.
He looked like any other kid wandering through New York's busy streets.
Casey snuck through alleys before climbing at top a building.
He removed a tile and jumped down, landing in a crouch.
"Superhero landing!" Cheered Karai, slow clapping. Casey smiled, bowing as some foot soilders went and fixed the tile.
"Must you do this every time?" Asks Saki, sitting on a chair and watching his son with an amused expression.
Casey pouted, making Karai laugh. "But you said it was cool." Saki chuckled "it is, but we have to keep fixing that same tile."
Karai grinned, conspiratorily "so what your saying is that we need to find different ways to sneak into the building."
Saki shakes his head, with the face of a man who has had this conversation far too many times.
"Why do we even have a front door if no ones going to use it?" He sighs.
He had decorated it himself.
"Dad, if we do than we'll be spotted." Says Casey. Saki shakes his head, pointing his finger to the ceiling.
"True stealth comes when you can enter the front door without being spotted. It's the one place you don't expect an imposter to use."
Casey thought about it, it made sense. Though they all knew it wouldn't happen.
"Now, onto more important matters. Wee have a game to prepare for do we not?" Said Saki, rising to his feet.
"Yup, against the Lincoln Lions." Said Casey, Karai snorted "I've seen them, you'll be fine."
Saki nodded, their was no doubt in his mind about that. "Obviously but it pays not be prepared." His kids followed him as they descended into the basement.
Which had been fashioned into an ice rink.
Casey strapped on his skates and his gear as a bunch of footbots appeared on the ice before him.
Some of his side and some on the other.
Headed by Karai who had grabbed one of his hockey sticks.
"You ready to lose, Casey!" Said Karai with a grin, she was wicked on skates but the ice was Casey's home.
Casey grinned, taking his place. His father was the referee, watching them both with a critical eye.
"Bring it on" He declared, putting his visor down and the game began.

Hi! I have a lestappen prompt if you are still taking prompts!
Prompt: Charles and Max are secretly married but they have a kid or kids together. They must keep their relationship a secret at races since they are still drivers for f1 but they must also juggle being parents.
I hope you have some fun with this prompt! I will love to see where you take it cause I think it can either be fluff or angst, or both!
When I first read this prompt, I was like 'ah, easy one, I'll write something for it in a few hours'. Nope, my guy, nope. I had to rewrite it like three times because when I thought I finally had a good idea, it turned out it wasn't good. So yeah, it was quite of a challenge. 😃
Max/Charles • 625 words • emotional hurt/comfort • parents Lestappen • mentions of homophobia • hugs • Ao3 link
-
“Daddy, Papa, when can I go to a race with you?” Julia asked on a calm Sunday afternoon when she was coloring in a coloring book while Max and Charles drank their coffee on the couch. Charles looked at Max, opening his mouth to answer Julia's question but Max was faster.
“Come here, baby, we have to talk about something.”
“I wanna go to a race with you,” the little girl said while climbing onto Max's lap, burying her face into his dad's chest.
“I know, princess,” Max nodded, kissing his daughter's hair and hugging her. “But... It is not that easy.”
“Why?”
Max looked at Charles and then at their daughter again.
“Because there are some... Not so nice people there. Some people do not like it when two boys love each other and have kids together. And we do not want these people to hurt you, to tell you mean things,” Max tried to explain, “In this world, in the racing world there are a lot of people who do not like men like your papa and me. Because we like men, we are in love with each other and we are married. We have to keep it a secret.”
“B—But boys can love each other too,” the little girl mumbled to Max's chest. “It's not fair not to let them love each other.”
Charles smiled and leaned to Max, resting his head on his husband's shoulder.
“They can, but... There is a big chance Daddy would lose his job if a boss in his team found out he was gay. That boss does not like gay people. So daddy has to keep it a secret.”
“Christian doesn't like Daddy?” Julia asked. Max shook his head.
“No, not Christian. Christian likes Daddy, you know him, he likes you too. Another boss, Helmut, does not like people like me, like us with your Papa.”
“I don't want to be a secret, Daddy,” the little girl said, lips pouty. “I wanna go there with you. I wanna see vroom vroom cars go very fast and Daddy or Papa win.”
Max tried to swallow the lump in his throat. He never wanted his daughter to be a secret, he never wanted to pretend like he was single and straight. He never wanted to lie and shield his daughter from the real world, from making friends, going to races, but when Helmut saw how Max had behaved with Daniel when they were teammates, he threatened him that he would make Max lose his seat if it turned out he was gay, because "they don't need pussys in real men's sport". His dad wasn't much better, either.
“Come here, baby,” Charles told Julia when he saw Max taking a deep breath and trying not to cry, “Give Daddy a bit of space.”
“Julia hurt Daddy?” she asked, lips trembling as he climbed to Charles' lap.
“No, baby, you didn't hurt Daddy, don't cry,” Charles said, hugging the little girl to his chest, trying to soothe her.
“It's okay, princess,” Max whispered after wiping his tears away. “Daddy will solve this, I promise.”
“Do you wanna watch a race on the tv?” Charles asked.
“Yes! Yes! Yes!” Julia said, nodding intensely, eyes sparkling, and a huge grin on her face. She loves watching races, and she already knows a lot of radio and commentator lines.
“Which one would you like?”
“Your first win, Papa!”
“Good choice,” Max smiled as Charles started looking for that race on the F1 TV app. “You have good taste, princess.”
“When Papa wins next I wanna be there and cheer for him.”
You'll be there, baby. After I win this championship, you won't be a secret anymore. Our family won't be a secret anymore.

Want to do OC things but have nothing in my little brain so, Monette facts! Congratulations!
Has some PTSD after an incident in middle school. Didn’t get therapy for it for way too long too, not till her 20s. She still doesn’t do fire, screaming, or pork barbecue, but she’s working on her worrying level of acceptance of death
Goes grey quite young. It’s a genetic thing, her father did it, his father did it- she started getting grey hairs in high school and by the time she left college she’d lost every bit of brown. Owns it too, she’s got way too much self-confidence to have been brought down by something like losing color in her hair
Is very much a pet-name sort’ve person. She’s the sort to call people ‘darling’ and ‘love’ just as a matter of course, shortens names on the regular, if she uses your actual name and doesn’t add a ‘dear’ or some shit to the end she is fucking pissed no matter how much she might be smiling at you
She will normally be smiling, do not trust it, over time you learn to tell the difference between ‘I’m being polite’ and ‘somebody will be by your garage with a sledgehammer next month’
She’s a sweetheart, most personable and giving fucker around, who will 100% call that girl she fucked in college whose uncle has ties to the mob and they’ll make sure you stop harassing that nice kid working the counter at her favorite cafe
Nobody’s died because of her so far. So far.
Monie lives in a world of connections and favors and ‘you scratch my back I’ll scratch yours’
She is so fucking social. She owns an 8 bedroom mansion purely for hosting purposes (you can worry about making sure your drunk guests get home safe, or have a place ready for them to crash) (it also has an elevator and ramps purely for accessibility reasons).
If there is any defining Monie trait it’s that she likes people, she likes being around people, she likes making people happy. Which directly led to her more positive traits, it only took hearing one maid worrying about medical bills when she was a kid to make her go ‘none of my people should have to worry like that’ and now here we are, with this bitch paying her maids the same wage she’s getting
If you put Monie on a desert island with enough food, shelter, water, medical gear, etc to last a year she’d die within a week of loneliness, swear to god
Is by far the most athletic of my OCs. Marian also has her sporty side but Monie has to do sport or her enrichment needs aren’t met
Played hockey from early elementary school up through college, trying to play professionally was an actual serious consideration for her. As it stands she continues to follow the sport religiously, funds local and semi-local women’s and girls’ teams, and will join in on a friendly game given any sort’ve encouragement
Honestly it’s amazing she survived playing hockey, she is a small woman- 5′2 and like 125 lbs soaking wet- but not afraid to get right of a middle of skirmish. Enjoys it, in fact
At ‘present’ her big ‘I need to do an athletic’ things are running (why no, she doesn’t have a long straight empty space running across her home just so she can do sprints, why would you think that) and rock climbing. She generally does traditional climbing or highball bouldering, the latter to fill her burning need for free solo climbing
Does she want to climb a 100 ft cliff face with nothing but chalk and proper footwear at every opportunity? Yes. Does her therapist specifically request she not do that sort’ve thing anymore? Also yes.
Her family was expecting her to go into politics, wanted her to go into politics. As of the ‘present’ she has a pretty much brand-new doctorate in physical therapy. Her great-aunt considers this a lesser accomplishment than her cousin getting a bachelor’s in business and honestly the fact the woman is still alive should earn Monie a medal
Does she go around making a big deal of the doctorate as a general rule? No. Is she require it’s acknowledgement by assholes who want to deal with her? Yes.
Has had multiple arguments with said cousin about whether unions are a threat to the framework of American economics or ‘a valuable tool for maintaining a healthy relationship between owners and employees and ensuring the balance of the economy, you self-important twerp’
Spends about 70% of the money she gets from her shares in family businesses on things like buying out people’s medical debt, improving housing access and helping people get off the streets, advocating for higher wages and lower police budgets, so on and so forth (again, people were surprised she didn’t go into politics)
Her big goal is to take the business she’s going to inherit from her mother and just hand it over completely to the employees, take the profits from her shares of the business on her father’s side once he’s gone and they quadruple and over the course of several years set up a charity providing free housing, one that literally just handles medical bills for people, and a scholarship program for low income med students, each with their own trust account feeding into a checking account, then take her shares and, if she can drag her relatives into it, establish an Employee Owned Trust, granting them to their employees and giving them 1/3 share of the business. After that, if her math is right, her savings should be just enough to carry her to her death in the degree of luxury which she prefers, with any leftovers also going to charity

Welcome to the Family, Boy (Alcina x Fem!Reader Fanfic)
Tumblr media
First thank you all for your support for my first Dimitrescu fanfic. I truly appreciate it and all the support this community has given me on. Let's go on to the next one, shall we?
Premise: After a long and stressful week, your wife Alcina wants to help you let off some steam. However, your amorous activities are cut short by an unexpected surprise.
Warning: blood. There are some steamy scenes in here but nothing explicit, so it's mostly safe for work.
As you climb the stairs to your bedroom, you heave a great sigh. It’s been a long and stressful week. Daniela had caused a small fire in the wine cellar basement by knocking over a lantern when she had gotten a little too eager for a feeding. It was eventually put out, but the corpse was burned in the process. Alcina had been furious at the waste of resources. It had taken a full day to get rid of the ash, but the basement was clean. Well, as clean as it could be. Aside from the wine cellar, Alcina didn’t seem to care much about cleaning up the basement. Well, it was over now. Now you just couldn’t wait to curl up next to your wife and get a good sleep.
You arrive at your doorway and hear Maria Callas singing “Casta Diva” from within. You smile. Your mutual love for opera was one of the first things you discussed as you were courting. Before you reach your hand to knock at the door, you hear Alcina call, “Is that you iubirea mea?”
“Yes, dear,” you reply. You stretch your arms behind your head. “Oh, I just can’t wait to get into bed-” Your voice cuts off as you see what your wife is wearing. She is wearing a black peignoir and as she stands up, she casts it off to reveal a black and red lingerie set.
She smiles wickedly. “I can’t wait to get into bed with you either.”
You don’t move. You can only stare. Her scarlet lips match the exact shade of the lingerie. Without any sleeves, you see her muscular arms and you blush as you recall what those arms feel like wrapped around you. Her legs are on full display as well with a red stocking clipped to a garter. They reach up to your shoulders and you have spent many a time nestled in them with your head on her lap. You open your mouth to reply but find nothing coming out.
Alcina pouts and puts one hand behind her on the bed. “Come, pet,” she purrs, beckoning you with a red fingernail. “You’re not going to stand there all day, are you?”
You don’t say anything. You cross the space between you and your wife in three steps and launch yourself over into her waiting arms. The scent of her perfume is overwhelming and you breathe it in. You close your eyes and kiss her chin, her laugh lines and finally her lips. She laughs through the kiss and holds your head between her hands. “Well, that wasn’t so hard, was it?”
“Don’t talk,” you rasp, your voice full of desire.
She smiles. “All right, draga mea. No talking then.” She kisses you deeply and you weave your hands through her locks.
She picks you up and carries you across the room, kissing all the while until you reach the wall. You lean your head on the wall behind you and wrap your legs around her waist. “I’ve needed this, my love,” you whisper against her lips.
Ding dong!
You hear the doorbell resound through the castle. You break the kiss and fix her with a quizzical expression. “Were you expecting anyone?” you ask.
She shakes her head quickly. “No. Could be a solicitor. Could be a vampire hunter coming to put a stake in all our hearts.” Her golden eyes are glazed over with desire. “Right now I couldn’t care less at the moment.” She nuzzles your neck and you sigh. She breaks away and looks at you, an unasked question in her eyes. She’s hungry. You nod your consent and she pulls away your nightgown to bear your neck and shoulders. She pulls you close and bites your neck and feeds on the blood pooling around your neck. You feel her neck working against your chest as she drinks. You take pleasure in every gasp and moan she makes. You feel pleasantly light-headed by the time she pulls away with a satisfied sigh.
Ding dong!
Alcina groans and bares her teeth in anger. “It’s getting too late for this!”
You caress her jaw. “Dear, maybe we should answer it. It could be an emergency.”
She shakes her head impatiently. “It’s probably some snot-nosed kid playing a prank.” She lifts your chin with a finger and gives you a seductive grin. “Don’t focus on it right now, pet. Right now is about you and me.”
“You’re probably right-” She stops the rest of your sentence with a rough kiss, opening your mouth with her tongue. Her hand travels up your leg and her hand making contact against your bare leg gives you a pleasant chill. Her hand rests on your thigh and she pushes you up against the wall again while using her nimble fingers to unhook your garter.
Ding dong! Ding dong! Ding dong!
Alcina gives a frustrated growl. “Damn it to hell!”
“Darling,” you say gently petting her arm as a signal to set you down. “If it were kids, they’d be bored and have gone home by now. I’m going to check who it is.”
Your wife crosses her arms and gives an adorable pout. “Fine. Do what you want.”
You adjust your nightgown and wipe any leftover blood and lipstick off your neck. As you walk to the door, Alcina gently puts your dressing gown around your shoulders. You catch her hand and give it a kiss. “I’ll be with you shortly. I just need to get dressed.”
You smile at her. “Very well, darling.” As you turn to leave the door, Alcina catches your shoulder and whispers huskily, “And after we get back, we will most certainly get back the lost time that nuisance has stolen from us.”
You blush furiously and kiss her goodbye. As you walk down the stairs, you hear the doorbell ring again. Once, twice, three times. “Yeah yeah, I’m coming. I’m coming.” You grasp the brass handles and with a great effort manage to open the doors wide. You’re jealous of Alcina in moments like these. She could open the doors with such ease that you forget that each door weighed hundreds of pounds.
You are surprised to see Heisenberg holding something wrapped in cloth. You can’t help but smile when you see Heisenberg. Heisenberg and Alcina may be like oil and water, but the two of you liked each other almost instantly. He told you once that “anyone who could put up with that bitch for more than 20 seconds must be a good person. And you have to put up with her for life!”
Heisenberg returns your smile. “Hi, hon.”
“Hi Karl. How about you come in and warm up with a nice cup of tea?” You stand aside to allow him in. “Come on. It’s freezing out there.”
“I appreciate the sentiment, honey, but I really can’t stay long. Is your ball and chain around? This question concerns her too.”
“Heisenberg,” you hear your wife’s drawl. You both look to see her descending the stairs. There is no evidence of your amorous activities as she has on a fresh coat of lipstick, is fully dressed and her hair is pinned perfectly in place under her hat. “To what do I owe this rather unpleasant surprise?”
Heisenberg clenches his teeth. “Believe me, I wouldn’t come here unless it was an emergency.”
“Then what is it?” Alcina asks as she puts her left hand on your shoulder. You reach up to cover it with your own. “Out with it, and be on your way. Some of us would rather be in bed right now.”
Heisenberg notes your kiss-swollen lips and a hickey already starting to form on your neck. “Yes, I suppose some of us rather would.”
Alcina’s eyes flash and she grits her teeth. “Heisenberg, I swear-”
Heisenberg puts up a placating hand while he holds the bundle with his other. “Ok, ok. I’ll cut to the chase then. Sheesh, do you have any sense of humor?” He unwraps the bundle to reveal a mewling French bulldog. It can’t be more than a couple weeks old.
As you place your hand on your heart Heisenberg continues. “I found him outside of his house. Whole damned family was slaughtered. He needs a place to stay. I thought this might be the best place for him.”
You look at your wife with pleading eyes, but she gives a sharp, “No.”
“Darling-”
“No.” She glares at Heisenberg. “Why can’t you take him in? Maybe it would be an opportunity for you to learn some responsibility for once in your cursed existence.”
You see Heisenberg roll his eyes behind his sunglasses. “Yes, and I’d be responsible for him being torn apart by Lycans. I’m not taking him in. It’s not safe for him there.”
You take your wife’s hand in yours. “Darling, please reconsider. We can’t turn the poor thing away. Besides, our daughters would love having a d-”
She immediately puts a hand over your mouth. “Don’t say it,” she warns, looking furtively around the foyer.
“What?” you ask against her hand. “Dog?”
Almost immediately your daughters, Bela, Cassandra and Daniela materialize from their fly shrouds. They zero in on the dog and Cassandra takes him out of Heisenberg’s hands and the other two crowd around her and begin cooing to it, and letting it sniff and lick their fingers.
Alcina covers her face with her hands. “Now you’ve done it, love.”
The girls look up from their ministrations to the dog and as one rush over to your wife, carrying the dog over with them. They begin speaking up all at once. “Mother, please can we keep him?” “Mother, look how cute he is!” “Mother, Cassandra’s been hogging the dog all this time and it’s my turn to hold him!”
“Enough!” Alcina’s voice booms around the foyer. She puts two fingers in the space between her perfectly sculpted eyebrows. She sighs aloud. “God, I need a smoke.” She turns to her daughters and with a long suffering sigh says, “Fine. We’ll keep the little mongrel.”
All three daughters erupt into cheers and you can’t help but smile indulgently at them. Daniela runs over and throws her arms around your neck in jubilation. “Maman, did you hear that? We get to have a dog finally!”
“Yes, dearest, I did hear that.” You drop a kiss on her head and she scampers over to take the dog which Cassandra begrudgingly hands to her.
Heisenberg grins and reaches in his pocket. “I have some food and a water bottle for him,” he says, handing you the aforementioned items. “The Duke should have some more, but that’s all I have right now.”
“Thank you Karl,” you say, reaching over to scratch the dog behind his ears. “We’ll take good care of it, won’t we girls?”
“Yes, Maman!” they all answer in unison.
“I’ll be off then!” Heisenberg turns to leave but not before shouting over his shoulder, “And I think he should fit in pretty nicely around here, especially since the Lady of the House is such a bi-”
In an instant, Alcina has him off the ground and has her claws extended only a few inches from his neck. “Heisenberg, did you want to finish that sentence?” she asks sweetly.
You can’t help but laugh. “Let him down, my love. It’s not worth getting so riled up this late at night”
“Fine,” she says and sets him down not too gently. He brushes himself off and glares at Alcina for the rough landing. She just flashes a smile and you notice that only her middle finger is extended in claw form. You look at your daughters, but they are too busy with the dog to notice the obscene hand gesture.
“All right, this time I’m really off.” he says, turning around and walking towards the castle gates.
“Girls, what do you say?” you prompt.
“Thank you, Uncle Karl!” they chorus. Bela snatches the dog and runs upstairs, vanishing in her bug shroud. The girls run after her, Daniela yelling down the hall, “No fair! I wasn’t finished with him yet!”
Alcina closes the doors and leans against them, sighing. “I just hope this wasn’t a mistake.”
You take her hand and kiss it. “Nothing we can do about it now, my love. Come on, let’s go to bed. It’s getting late.” The two of you hold hands and once you arrive at your shared bedroom, Alcina immediately locks the door, pulls you close and fixes you with a wolfish grin. “Now where were we, draga mea?”
“I thought you said you wanted to smoke first?” You laugh and wrap your arms around her neck.
“Ah, iubirea mea,” she say picking you up again and giving you a sloppy kiss. “Cigarettes always taste better after sex.”
You kiss her as you unbutton her dress and she puts her hand in the same spot on your thigh as before, this time successfully unhooking your garter. You bite her lip playfully and she gives a little growl of pleasure.
The moment is interrupted by a knock on the door and you hear Daniela’s voice, “Mother? Maman? The dog peed all over the carpet in Bela’s room!”
“Only because you led him there!” you hear Bela retort.
Alcina leans her forehead against yours and starts swearing in Romanian. You give her a kiss and pat her hand before you see to your daughters.

Google translate man my beloved
Wrote in singular 1, because this is very self-indulgent.
Word count:1475
Idea: Teen!y/n goes into the woods to do their French translation homework only to fail miserably, gets found by Slender and he miraculously ends up helping the kid instead of murdering them.
The reader is gender neutral!
The scenario is platonic asf!!!
Tw: Intrusive thoughts, mention of a breakdown, a joe mama joke at the end
<3
“Hhh this day was loud to say the least-..” I thought to myself as I swiftly jumped out my bedroom window down onto the forest floor.
How convenient I live right next to my destination. I am going to do my homework there for no absolute reason besides that no one is home, and being lonely in an enclosed space is a worse feeling than being lonely in the open.
As I took my first steps down the path I admired my surroundings; the forest always had some kind of magic to it in the summer.
The short walk was quiet as usual. I didn’t hear any noise other than the faint white noise that was probably only in my head, but I didn't even notice it, since my mind was filled with thoughts about my French homework and how indecipherable it was.
Finally I arrived at my favorite tree. It’s super easy to climb, and it has a nice branch to sit on comfortably without any fear of falling down. In one word, it was just perfect.
I climbed up on the branch and got comfortable. I was feeling a bit better about my day now, but sadly this didn’t last long. I made the mistake of doing what I came here for. That’s right, I started my homework, tried to process the information that I would have to translate two whole pages of French into English. Yeah, I don’t know the language this well, to be honest, I don’t know it at all! I have no idea how I ‘ll do this assignment when it’s due tomorrow!
I began falling into a spiral of panic and intrusive thoughts and I didn't seem to be able to snap myself out of it. I felt my eyes fill with tears, and shortly after they streamed down my face, I saw them on the page.
I was really about to have a breakdown in the woods if I didn’t get distracted by the faint feeling of being watched. I shot my head up to look around in paranoia (due to the rumors I heard in school and the warnings from that crazy old lady) to find the source of this terrible hunch, only to be met by a blank face staring down at me next to the tree.
That’s right, it was the man himself.
I leaned back in fear, immediately regretting it as I lost my balance and fell off the tree, painfully meeting the ground; And if that wasn't enough, I felt the book land on my head not even a second later. I quickly stood up, my feet facing the way back home, my gaze still on the man in fear he would disappear.
I silently stared for a few seconds as he didn’t even move an inch, yet tendrils slowly came out of his back. I am not even going to lie here; he looked fucking terrifying; I was ready to sprint off, but then a wonderful idea entered my mind.
This man is old. Like, very old. There is no way he wouldn’t know French. He could help. I don’t know how I thought this was a good idea in my head, but I turned back and while looking at the ground I sheepishly asked; “Do you know French?”
The question caught him completely off guard. This was one of the last things he expected to hear. A random young victim asking him if he knows French. He stood there for a few seconds with no clue what to do. Then he remembered how he left the manor because he was bored anyway, so he decided to go along with it.
“Why.” I heard it in my mind .I never had someone talk to me telepathically, so I wasn’t really sure what it was. Then it repeated. “Why are you asking that?”
I finally collected the last piece of bravery I had left ‌ while still staring at the ground I mustered out; “Well I could really use some help with this I guess?”
After a few seconds of silence I decided to look up out of fear that I was just about to get killed, but it got interrupted, and to my horror I felt a huge hand on my shoulder. I quickly shot my head up to see what kind of death he had planned for me, only to find us standing in some sort of office??
I looked around while he went behind his desk to clean up some papers; I assume. I saw many bookshelves filled to the brim with old books. They weren’t dusty or literally falling apart, though, he seemed to take good care of them. There was a huge window behind me with a small tea table and a huge puffy chair next to it. When he has some free time he just sits down there, and watches his “employees” work in the garden as some form of entertainment. I was pulled out of my observatory state by noticing four tendrils grabbing and lifting the armchair in front of the window and putting it down in front of the large desk.
“Come now, have a seat!” I reluctantly walked next to it and I had to climb into the chair since it was not really made for my size, and once I got comfortable I looked up to hear what to do next. (ik i can’t hear with my eyes, but it’s polite to look at someone while they are talking to you)
“So, what seems to be the problem?” He questioned like a doctor.
“Uh- Well the task is to translate these two pages from French to English…” I stated the facts, but leaving the obvious out.
“And let me guess, you did not keep up with the class hm?” He asked in a scolding voice. And he was right. I did in fact, not keep up with the class.
“Well I wouldn't word it that way, but you’re technically not wrong..” I said in a horrible attempt at defense.
“Well, whatever you did or perhaps, didn’t do, now has you here. How much of it do you understand?” He questioned, trying to see how much I knew.
“Well,,, uhm… Literally nothing?” This was the moment where I learned how embarrassing the truth can be when you say it out loud. Few moments of silence. A disappointed or rather tired sigh. I was ready to cry. Another sigh.”Okay, I can still help you, you’re not a lost cause, it’s fine.”
I think he just took pity after seeing me, sitting there, almost crying, but I appreciate the help anyway. I watched as he grabbed an old sturdy looking book from a close-by shelf with one of his tendrils. And he laid it in front of me.
“This little thing is something we call a dictionary. It’s going to become your best friend once you get to know it well. Now what we are going to do the following; If you can, you’ll read the text, and if you come across a new word, you search for it in the dictionary, tell me what you found, and i’ll tell you what it means in this text. Once we get done with that, we’ll write down the translation in that notebook of yours. Understand?”
“I understand just fine, but there’s a problem: I can’t pronounce anything at all….”
Another annoyed sigh.”Okay, we can fix that some other time, we should focus on the translation job then. I will read, and you will interrupt me when you come across something new.”
“Yes sir.”
And so he read it. Funny thing, or not really, but I ended up stopping him at every third sentence.
*time skip bc nothing interesting happens here*
It turned out okay, we translated it together and then I had to write it down.By the time it was almost finished, it was actually way less difficult when we started.
“There. done. It wasn’t too difficult, was it?” He asked when I finished writing the last word down.
“It was actually quite easy by the end! Thank you...”
“You’re welcome child.” I heard before I passed out.
“What a strange dream damn…” I thought as I woke up. But since I wasn’t too sure that it was actually a dream, I quickly opened my notebook; And there it was-Two pages of my French student's book, neatly translated into the notebook. It was hard to believe even with the poof right in front of me.
*at school*
“DUDE HOW DID YOU TRANSLATE THAT, I THOUGHT YOU SUCKED AT FRENCH??!?!” Asked my friend.
“I do, but I got help with this.” I told them.
“But aren’t your parents always working? Who helped you?”
“Joe,” I simply told them. “Joe mama.”

— falling out of love with gojo satoru
warnings: angst, mentions of sexual content, cursing
masterlist !
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
when you fell in love with gojo satoru, your heart exploded like a firework.
you still remember that moment very vividly at the back of your head. it was new year’s, and you two were drunk on both liquor and the feeling of having the other by your side. it was a tough year – as the norm was for jujutsu sorcerers – but you both made it out alive.
alive couldn’t even begin to describe how you felt that day.
satoru has always been the person who stuck by your side through thick and thin like how you were the one who always went against the higher-ups when they tried to limit his capabilities. you should’ve known then, that the higher ups were just the beginning. that when once you thought their oppression for satoru’s plans were nothing but microscopical compared to the barrier his family had placed between the both of you.
they didn’t like you.
he was a gojo, the strongest jujutsu sorcerer, while you were...well, you.
you weren’t really anyone special or better than anyone. your technique was decent and had a lot more drawbacks than advantages that you had to improve your physical abilities instead to not be deemed a total useless tool.
satoru never saw you that way. to him, he admired you almost as equally as he cherished his best friend, suguru, so much so that the three of you become the best of friends in the blink of an eye. the more time you spent together, whether alone or with others, it felt like your world just hyper focused or snapped into tunnel vision, zeroing on no one else but the white-haired man whose smile was brighter than any other in the sky.
when he told you he loved you, you couldn’t distinguish which ones were the exploding new year fireworks or the drumming of your heart. you stared up at him then, lips falling open as you released a tiny breath of air, and satoru laughed. he actually laughed.
you wanted to tease him, to punch him even though you couldn’t really ever touch him just to get over the fact he had you losing your composure with eyes glossing over. “well,” he taunted then, one shoulder lifting up lazily. “aren’t you gonna say anything? if you feel the same way, now’s the best time to tell me. we can end the year as friends and start another one as-”
satoru never got to finish his sentence. you had jumped into his arms faster than the speed of light, hands yanking down his yukata to pull him towards you, your lips slamming on his almost greedily.
he didn’t mind. he never did.
for once, it felt as if his infinity never existed. you had both spent the night tangled under the sheets, your name rasped from his lips like a prayer. the way you kneeled for him just moments later with your eyes fervently closed made him feel like he’s the one being worshipped instead, and in a way, it was. you loved him – way too much that you no longer cared how much it would hurt the day after when he never gave you a break and kept you pulled closer to him.
you loved him – way too much that you no longer cared how much it would hurt if ever the time came that you no longer felt the same.
contrary to how you fell for him, you fell out of love with your best friend quietly. your shared apartment would still be filled with his annoying mannerism of dragging his feet over the floor as he walked, always groaning and complaining that he was hungry but never really bothered to cook anything for himself.
it felt a lot like living with a child where you were his mother, but in that sense, satoru hated it whenever you worried for him.
“you’re not my mother, stop telling me what to do!”
“stop being so arrogant, satoru!” you pointed to the barely conscious child in his arms, the first year student still barely breathing because satoru had gone out of his way again and brought yuuji while he fought a special grade curse. “you may be strong, but not everyone around you is capable of handling what you can! stop dragging people into your mess and start using your goddamn brain for once!”
“you don’t know anything, so shut the hell up.”
you scoffed, hands placed on your hip while you blinked back the angry tears that threatened to fell. you worried for yuuji, you really did, but in reality, you just couldn’t handle seeing gojo pushing himself to his limits and coming back home more wounded than the night before.
“i’m just worried for you, satoru. i don’t want you getting hurt.”
“i’m the strongest,” was all he said – was what he always kept saying. “i’m not going to get hurt.”
“you may not,” you reply stiffly, “but what about me? don’t you think about me? don’t you think about how much it hurts me to see you this way?”
you told yourself you hated him. you hated how arrogant he got. it was good he was confident of his abilities and prided himself of such an honourable title, but satoru was human. he was bound to fall at some point.
eventually, you got too tired.
it was too tiring to keep waiting for him to come home unscathed. you were assigned different missions all the time. satoru would always be working overseas while you mostly helped train the kids and exorcised curses from time to time; no missions that were as dangerous as his.
in the dead of the night, when you were turned away from him in your bed that had already gotten so cold from his usual absence, satoru would slip beside you as silently as he could. the morning afterwards would always be the same: good morning, did you sleep well? he knew the answer. he knew you never slept well without him, but he’d ask just to be nice, and it wouldn’t take too long before you’re both late to work because he missed you too much from being away all the time that he wanted to feel you clamp around him one more time.
it was tiring. too tiring.
that heavy weight never left your shoulders. you cried yourself to sleep far too much that you’d lost count – until you reached a point you just felt nothing. the bed no longer felt cold – just empty. his side always remained untouched, his chair in the dining table barely used, and you’ve gotten so used of washing only your plate and utensils that you wondered if satoru had ever been there.
you wondered if it was a coping mechanism; that maybe you could just no longer handle the pain of having to worry about him every damn night and he’d never care enough to at least be a little more careful, and this was why you just stopped missing him, which was why you just started enjoying the silence in your apartment a little bit more than you should.
but if it was a coping mechanism...why did you feel a lot freer and happier in his absence? instead of it feeling like you were supposed to be distracted, you felt awakened. alive.
alive in the same way he told you he loved you while the skies painted different hues of red, blue, green, and yellow in the darkness that bore witness to your souls connecting that night – the same sky that was now patiently watching as your souls split in half and formed itself whole all over again.
contrary to how you fell for him, you fell out of love with your best friend quietly.
there was no longer someone singing made up songs in the shower. there would no longer be that sound of an annoying loud kiss down the bride of your neck or the smacking of his palm on your ass when he wanted to piss you off.
you fell out of love him so silently that when he crawled next to you that night, you didn’t even hear him. and for the first time in a long time, you slept well the moment he left before the sun stretched its wings across the horizon. when you were greeted by nothing but your own pair of slippers outside your bedroom and not even a post it note to tell you he’d already left for work, a smile tugged on your face.
you made your breakfast in peace. satoru no longer dared to come back home if he was injured because he knew you wouldn’t care enough to fix him up.
although of course you would, but nothing ever beats in your heart for him anymore when you dab the disinfectant across his cut lips. satoru would catch your wrist then to tug you to him slowly, empty eyes staring back at his sky blue ones.
“thank you. for patching me up.”
“you’re welcome,” you’d smile, climbing off his lap while closing the first aid-kit. “go get changed. i’ll cook something up for you.”
it was a silent, empty routine. satoru would thank you for fixing him up because he was never every sorry for worrying you. he’d keep being reckless again and again until he reached a point you no longer cared for him enough to say goodbye to him with a kiss and the slow, tender promise of be safe – i’ll wait for you to come home.
you still kiss him – more out of habit than anything – but you’ve changed.
i’ll see you tonight.
it was empty, silent, completely different from the fireworks he’d ignited within you when he told you he loved you. satoru wasn’t dumb, and he didn’t need his six eyes to see that you’ve grown too comfortable over the large space between you and him between the sofa, almost as if him being away was what felt home for you.
he was never a confrontational man; he hated each waking moment that lead to this, but he had to do it. he needed to do it – to set you both free.
when the commercials started playing, satoru lowered the volume down, voice low and serious as he turned to you. you easily picked up on the sudden tension in the room – the first thing you’ve felt ever since you’ve fallen out of love with him – yet nothing changed. when satoru sighed, your heart didn’t ache.
“well,” he chuckled nervously as he leant back to his side, “things have changed, don’t you think?”
“yes.” there was no point denying it. you knew it – he felt it.
“what do we do now?”
you had no answer to his question. despite the fact you no longer looked at him the same way, not once had it crossed your mind to leave your apartment. not because you wanted to hold on as much as possible to whatever memories you shared under this roof, but simply because you didn’t know where else to go.
it wasn’t like it made a difference anyway. satoru barely came home, and when he did, he made his presence as scarce as possible that you could no longer tell what difference it would make if he was here or not.
“i don’t know,” you admitted, knees hugged to your chest. “what do you want to do?”
his answer came in the form of opened doors. you leant against the doorframe, watching as nanami and even yuuji came to help satoru move his stuff out of the apartment. he found a better place somewhere in the upstate, somewhere much closer to bars and clubs – which you know he thoroughly enjoyed it prior to meeting you – and your mind immediately went back to the time you and satoru first moved in.
it proved to be a difficult task. you both wanted to move in and finish unpacking as soon as possible, but satoru was too eager to christen each part and corner of the house that you both ended up making more mess.
nights spent tucked into each other because the heater was broken and you were both too tired to sleep anywhere except the uncomfortable mattress played like a broken record in your mind. satoru’s laughter echoed when nanami complained that he should stop spending money on souvenirs so he could’ve hired professionals to help him move out instead, your head snapping up at the source of that carefree, sweet laugher that always had butterflies erupting in your stomach.
as if feeling your gaze on him, satoru’s eyes flitted to where you stood. when he smiled, you could tell each genuine apology rang behind it – all the words he never got to say staying like a broken glass that kept cutting him over and over again.
he loved you. he still loves you.
and maybe, tucked away in the deepest parts of your heart that no longer felt fond of him the same way it did before, still held a little compassion enough for this man you once wanted to spend your life with.
you weren’t unkind. you didn’t need to love someone to know when to forgive them, but just for this moment, just for him, you could pretend to for one last time.
smiling up at him with your eyes crinkled and the last bits of adoration for everything about him gleamed through your lashes just before it slipped away into nothingness. it was enough. it was enough for satoru to know he’d been forgiven, and it was enough for him to finally set you free.
the next time you saw him at school, there were no longer fireworks.
your heart was at peace.

Hello! May i suggest a drabble?
Philza teaching y/n how to fly/ use their wings; Just thought i'd be a funny enough idea picturing these massive wings on a child and having dadza teaching them. 🌿
-Much love, anon.
Reader and Philza - Flying Lessons
GN
Pairings: none
Characters included: Philza, Tommyinnit, Tubbo
Warnings: cursing
Series: a request from a nice anon :D
Summary: Philza caught Y/N once again in trouble with Tommy and Tubbo and after breaking that little dispute up Y/N surprised him with the question “Can you teach me how to fly?” They sure are lucky that Philza has a weakspot for the fellow winged hybrid.
Words count: 2040
Authors Note: I love Dadza so much and I love writing for him so thank you so much for the request :D
There was a crash followed by a loud scream and curses. All accompanied by laughter from multiple people.
Now, the SMP was chaotic and Phil was slowly getting used to it but this commotion somehow piqued his interest enough that he was curious to see what had happened. He dropped the equipment he was working on in a random chest and ran towards his front door.
The crash and the voices sounded pretty loud so it didn’t surprise him at all when he found a group of people in the middle of the town.
He found Tommy, Y/N and Tubbo. The usual troublemakers.
Tommy was laying on the ground, flat on his back. His hand outstretched and pointing at Y/N who was giggling to themself as Tommy cursed them out, calling them a “brat” and the like which Philza found quite ironic.
Tubbo stood close by, clutching his stomach as he continued laughing. Gasping for air whenever he had the chance. Tears brimming in his eyes. Honestly he looked close to collapse. Hard to imagine that he was the president of this place.
Y/N on the other hand had their arms smugly in front of their chest. Their wings half closed but still sporting an impressive wingspan for their young age by the looks of it.
As Tommy finally decided to stand up, Philza made his way towards them as well “What happened?” He was already halfway to chuckling himself alone from Tubbo’s laughing, Tommy’s screaming and Y/N’s puffed up body language.
Exasperated Tommy turned to the winged man “It’s Y/N! I was talking to Tubbo, you know state secrets and all, and they just ambushed me!”
Philza couldn’t help but to raise one of his eyebrows at him “Ambushed? What do you mean ambushed?”
“They just-“ Tubbo begun talking, he was still laughing but he managed to calm down somewhat “They were just suddenly there! I was talking to Tommy and then I saw them gliding down in the corner of my eye and they straight up kicked him down. It was so funny, Philza!”
Tommy scoffed “They did that on purpose!”
At this exclamation Y/N ran around behind Philza and hid behind his legs. Standing between Phil’s body and his wings. Grabbing onto his shirt and peeking their head out at the blonde “Actually it was a mistake! I didn’t mean to!”
Almost instinctively Philza opened up his wing so they could fit in and put his hand on their head “What happened, Y/N?”
It took a moment before they answered “I wanted to learn how to fly…”
They pulled their gaze back up from the ground and instead threw an angry expression towards Tommy “So, it really wasn’t my fault! You were just in my way!”
“Oh you little-“ Tommy begun but Philza interrupted him.
“Hey, drop it. They said they didn’t mean to, so they didn’t mean to. Besides aren’t you too busy as Vice President to argue with a child? Weren’t you telling me that you were talking about state secrets with Tubbo there?”
Tubbo nodded “Yeah come on big man! They did apologize right after so let’s just get going.”
“Alright, you are lucky Philza is here or- or- I don’t know but something would have happened!” Tommy grumbled.
He then turned around and continued walking along. Tubbo waved Philza and Y/N goodbye only to follow his best friend.
Once they were out of ear shot Philza let out a sigh. Tommy was a troublesome, troublesome person. It wasn’t the first time he had come to Y/N’s aid like this. In fact whenever problems arose Y/N would run over to Philza and ask for help.
Philza took his hand off of Y/N and took a step back so he could look at them. Their wings now hugging their back like usual and instead of their self-assured expression they looked a bit sad.
“What’s wrong?”
“You were able to fly before L’Manburg blew up, right?”
He was a bit surprised by that question “Uh, yeah. My wings are too damaged now for me to be able to fly though.”
While Y/N still looked worried, a bit of determination broke through “Could you teach me? Teach me how to fly? There is no one else here who could!”
Y/N was right. Sure, they could probably learn how to fly on their own over time but it didn’t surprise him that they would approach him for it. He himself had to learn how to fly alone and would have really appreciated someone else to help him.
“Well before I can say anything, can you open up your wings for me? Show me exactly how big they are.”
This seemed to brighten up Y/N’s mood and they happily obliged. Their wings swinging open and showing off how huge they actually have gotten. It took Phil a long while until his wings were big and strong enough to carry his weight but for Y/N it seemed to be different.
They were pretty young but their wings were already so big that it took him aback for a moment.
He nodded “Oh wow, okay. Honestly I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to fly with these. They look strong enough to hold you.”
Y/N’s eyes grew wide “You think so? You will help me?”
“Yeah, I will you little gremlin. Let’s get somewhere else with more space and preferably high up.”
There he was. Agreeing to help Y/N without even really thinking about it. They were seriously lucky that Philza had grown to have a bit of a soft spot for them. So much so that the joke was going around that Philza has adopted another child once again since he just can’t help himself.
Which was very much warranted seeing how they basically have moved in with Phil at this point. He didn’t feel comfortable with the though that this young child lived on their own.
Said kid was now happily skipping towards a clearing on a low mountain. It was semi easy accessible but a good place for them to practice without anyone else causing problem on purpose.
Honestly Phil wasn’t really sure how he felt about all this. Sure he was happy with how happy Y/N was but it also made him miss his own wings. His ability to just take off and fly to wherever he wanted to go.
Shoving these thoughts away Phil decided to pull his attention back to Y/N. Making sure they wouldn’t suddenly fall down the mountain somehow.
Once they arrived Phil fell down onto one of his knees and put his hands on Y/N’s shoulders “Before we start, you know how to glide and have done it before, correct? I saw you do it multiple times but I want to still ask you.”
They eagerly nodded, their mouth in a huge grin accompanied by a blush from the excitement.
“Okay good. That makes it easier. You see that rock formation over there? You think you could get up on there? When you are up there try jumping off. If you are too scared you can just glide down to me but try flapping your wings a bit. It should come natural. It did for me at least.”
He stood back up and opened up his own destroyed black wings. They still hurt a bit but it was bearable.
Y/N still seemed to be amazed though.
Phil begun moving his wings. Moving them in a way he was used to.
“You see how I move them? Can you do that too?”
The young kid didn’t wait long to do so. Opening up their wings to show off their full wingspan once again. Swinging their wings back and forth which created way more wind that pushed against Philza than he first imagined.
He laughed “Okay, I see you have no problems doing so. You think you can do what I asked you? You feel up for it? I’m gonna wait down here for you.”
“Yes!” they cheered and ran towards the stone formation. It looked like a ton of huge boulders that fell down the actual mountain, forming this pile.
Y/N closed their wings and climbed up the rocks unexpectantly fast.
While Philza barked orders at them in order to teach them in truth he had no real idea what he was doing. His best method on how to learn to fly was just to jump off somewhere and hope. That’s how he learned and that’s pretty much how he handled raising Wilbur now that he really thought about it.
“Hey! Hey! Make sure you look, okay? I want you to look, Dadza!”
Dadza? That was a first from them. Not that he minded it.
“I’m looking! I’m looking! Don’t worry!”
Y/N stood still and bowed down a little bit. Opening up their wings but they didn’t move. They just stood there, hands balled up into fists close to their chest. Y/N looked like they could move and jump any second but they just didn’t. Their feet where the only thing shuffling around.
“Y/N?”
“I can- I can do it but- but- I am scared!”
That was something he should have expected. They were about ten feet up in the air so it really was a normal reaction even though he was sure that Y/ N has been jumping off higher places to glide off.
But still this was kind of a different situation.
Philza thought for a moment “I will catch you?” He sounded unsure himself. Of course he would catch them in case anything happens but he wasn’t sure it would make them feel reassured. It was still high up. If he could he would probably stand next to them and fly off first to show them but alas this was not an option.
“Okay!” It somehow seemed to work.
Y/N was putting a lot of trust into Phil.
To support his claim Phil opened up his arms and put them in front of him. Nodding to Y/N as a sign that he was ready. He then moved his wings away from his body once again. Moving them just like when he demonstrated to Y/N how to move them beforehand.
With a deep breath Y/N followed his example. Beginning to move their own and once they felt like they had the rhythm down enough, they jumped.
Phil saw for a split second how panic spread across their face but they didn’t crash down. They stayed in the air. A bit unsteady but they effectively flew in the air.
“Dad look!” Y/N cheered only to drop a good feet down which made Phil jump in trying to run beneath them in hopes of catching them in case they do fall down but Y/N managed to stabilize themself again.
He let out a hearty laugh “I see! You are doing it!” Phil wasn’t sure if they noticed how they defaulted to calling him Dad or Dadza now. There was no need to correct them though. At least that’s how he felt about it.
Y/N begun flying in circles around him. Their expression showing off their glee only to suddenly grow pale “How- How do I land?”
“Shit I knew I forgot something. Just try to glide down for now like how you usually do!”
Y/N immediately angled their wings and stopped moving them. Now gliding down still in circles but Phill soon noticed that they still had quite the speed on them. So when they got down enough Phil sprinted in their way and tried catching them.
The end result of that was Y/N just crashing into Phil’s chest and pulling him off his feet. Both landing safely on the ground. Phil’s arms wrapped around their small body, protecting them from sustaining any wounds that they could get from grazing the ground.
While Phil’s heart was still pumping hard from fear, Y/N used the chance to also wrap their small arms around him “Thank you! I was flying! I was flying!”
Tired Phil nodded, mostly just glad Y/N seemed to be alright “Yeah, though you better practice. You weren’t even up there for a whole minute. I can’t always catch you like this. I’m too old for this, you little shit.”

Painted Roses

jordan takes you back to the place it all began as you expand your life together.
second part to Rose Garden
Tumblr media
4 years to the date.
The country house with the long gravel road that lead up to the huge red brick cottage. The owner passed away over a year ago and their family, to Jordan’s utter shock, weren’t interested in maintaining the beautiful home as the wedding venue it had existed as in the past. The second he heard it was up for sale, he placed an offer and had the keys in the space of two weeks.
“Jordan where are we going?”
“You’ll see.” He promises, giving your hand a gentle squeeze where it sat on top of your knee. The blindfold is making you sweat more than you already were. “I can’t see anything.” You note pointedly with a roll of your eyes behind the blindfold. Jordan chuckles heartily with what you can imagine in your mind is his signature smile, all white teeth and crinkled eyes. “You’ll love it,” he says through that smile, “I promise.” His hand pats your knee again as a silence falls between you.
Gravel crunches beneath the wheels of his fancy black Mercedes as the smell of cut grass and fresh flowers enters your nose and makes you grin subconsciously in a way you barely even notice. Jordan catches sight of that out the corner of his eye and his heart grows with joy in his chest. The slow, careful turn of his car, paired with the sound of his hands sliding along the leather of the wheel alert you to his parking. He does so with ease and you hear the keys jangling as he shuts off the engine.
“Wait here,” he instructs, climbing out his side with the door thrown shut behind him. He’s round at your side of the car before you have a chance to think up a cheeky retort. He’s gentle as he always is when he helps you out of the car carefully, wrapping one arm around your waist so you don’t fall. Admittedly, it doesn’t work very well because the ground beneath is so incredibly uneven, so when he gets to that first smooth grey cement step, he opts to simply scoop you up into his arms with ease.
“Okay,” he begins, placing you down as you feel the smooth material covering your eyes loosening and slipping from your face. His hands replace it for only a moment as he presses a kiss to the side of your head from behind you. “Open.”
You do as told and tears spring in place of his hands to blur your vision.
It’s beautiful.
It was that Victorian style country home that once acted as a wedding venue, redecorated to a minimum. “Wanted it to look nice for you, but so that you can give it your touch. You know better than me.” He admits sheepishly with a pink tint to his cheeks. You beam at him tearily, hands clasped together in sheer joy. “God Jordan, you shouldn’t have!” You exclaim, tears bleeding over your lash line. You knew how expensive these types of homes were, never mind ones so big with such history to them. It hadn’t even made much of a dent for Jordan really. He had more money than either of you could ever have spent and he likes to remind you of that to ensure you know full and well his gentle spoiling of you is not a hardship for him. He actively loves to do it.
“Take it as an anniversary present.” He shrugs, trying to fight at the smile that was tugging his lips. The warmth of your hug and the tears seeping through his white shirt was all a welcome to him no matter how hot it was outside. He could not wait to come home to this house, be welcomed home by you and hopefully some littler mixtures of you and him with your eyes and smile. “Makes my present look a little rubbish now,” you jest, making him chuckle heartily.
The house needed a fair bit of work. New flooring, new carpets, your furniture from home would do just fine but you reckon Jordan will be all for new stuff for a new home. A few new coats of paint and nice clear out, but all in it was still absolutely gorgeous.
“There is one room I really wanted to show you though, if that’s okay?” He asks, keeping his eyes trained down on the floor. You furrow your brows, but nod your head. “I gotta grab something from the car first though?” You hum, detangling your hand from his, “And pee.”
He tilts his head like a curious puppy. “Again? You went right before we left?” He queries. You shrug your shoulders indifferently. “Since when do you question a woman’s toilet habits at that point in the month, Henderson?” You poke with a blush and a light giggle. He chuckles with you and holds up his hands in defeat, but the second your out of eye and earshot his shoulders fall and a sigh bursts out his lips. He wouldn’t let it show to you right now his disappointment. You hadn’t been trying long, but it was enough for him to be in the longing stage. Longing to see your swollen belly, longing to feel those tiny kicks against his hands and then hold his brand new baby for the first time, spend all those nights wide awake wishing for nothing but sleep while he cradled them through to the morning. You said it would happen when it happened, but it still ached with every negative test. Hearing you say you were on your period hurt a little more than he had anticipated, but he’s still heart set on showing what he had done with the short time he was able to keep this new home a secret.
You return with your handbag and take his hand. He is instinctive in those soft movements of his thumb over the back of your hand. It’s something he always does to sooth both you and him.
“So this is the master bedroom and I know it’s not quite good yet but I thought-“
“Jordan it’s beautiful,” you cut him off, your hand drifting out of his as you step in slowly. Being cautious of dust sheets and some tools, you walk into the massive room. You’d never been in a bedroom that big and it had blown you away. The huge bed, still with plastic attacked and tags on the mattress. The en-suite bathroom is marble worktops, one of those huge bathtubs and a walk in shower updated to a beautiful mixture of modernity and it’s antique homage. Tears are found again. The window gives a perfect view out the back of the house, rolling fields worth of garden space, loosely fenced in for acres into the distance. There’s a pond on the land a little to the left, not far at all that leads off towards the beginning of the hidden Rose Garden where you met Jordan 4 years ago today. All of that owned and shared by just you and the man you love. “Bloody hell, it’s so magnificent Jordan. I literally have no words.”
He beams shyly almost, “That’s how I feel about you.” He mumbles softly, almost too quiet for you to hear, like he didn’t want you to. “What’s through here?” You call behind you as he trails after you on anxious legs. You carry on through the very short pathway attached to the master bedroom that had some extra storage space. “Well uh..I haven’t finished that so maybe we should just an-“
“Oh my god.”
Jordan rubs nervously at the back of his throat as he enters into the connecting room behind you. His eyes take you in immediately, studying your features carefully. Your hands are clasped over your mouth with slow tears sliding down over your rosy cheeks. Your eyes are afire with love and happiness. “I know it’s weird but-“
“It’s perfect, Jordan.” You throw your arms around his neck, his arms finding you immediately as he buries his head into your shoulder.
It’s the only room with a new carpet yet. It’s soft beneath your shoes, a plush cream colour to match a white wall. The window on the back wall gives the same fantastic view you have in the master room. There’s a white crib pushed against the wall furthest from you with a mobile of twinkling toys dangling above and a baby changing table a little away from the top end of the crib stocked full of pampers and baby cream. In the right corner of the room just by the window is a white wooden rocking chair next to a little book shelf with baby books that had a couple plush teddies and a photo of you and Jordan 4 years ago sitting atop it. The other side corner is decked out with two beanbag seats, a soft baby mat and a bundle of all sorts of soft toys.
“Left that wall blank ‘cause I remember that day you told me you’d always wanted to paint it like the sky.” He recounts, pointing his finger at the wall that the crib was situated next to, making your head whip towards him. He had such a fantastic memory even for the little things you said, just like that. You barely even remember it, spoken under the stars as you’d fallen asleep on his shoulder. It gives you no doubt about having kids with him, the thought of him remembering your babies favourite little treats or ineffective toddler secrets makes your heart soar with pride and joy. “Look closer at that.” He turns you round so your facing that wall again, the one with the little cosy corner.
Painted on the wall intricately above it is that rose arbor your stood underneath when he first laid his eyes on you. Where he first had that dance with you, where he told you he wanted to see you again. Where you snuck into when it was late, dark and only lit by those same fairly lights so he could tell you he loved you for the first time all those years ago. The roses are painted in perfect colour, careful and precise in the way they hung around you for that first ever dance you shared together. It’s so beautiful and so lifelike you that get lost in it, reliving the moment your world came together. Every time you sit there, it’ll be like sitting under real thing when you can’t take the baby out there.
“Well this makes my present a little more fitting, then.” You sniffle, letting Jordan swipe the tears gently off your cheeks with the pads of his thumbs in a slow, loving motion. “What do you mean?” He asks, “I told you not to get me anything.” He crossed his arms over his chest as you rifle through your bag. “Okay okay, here. Open this.”
You hand over a small gift bag, one stuffed with tissue paper he has to tear through as you sit your bag down and wait, watching him with wide and watery eyes. He pulls out first the tiny little wad of fabric and places the gift bag on top of the white wooden dresser, carefully unravelling the rolled up clothes. “That’s bloody adorable.” He breathes out, trying to keep the tears he has inside his eyes to no avail. You wrap your arm around his back, rubbing his tight shoulders softly. “Look at the back.” You encourage, his eyes meet yours then look back to the tiny clothes.
HENDERSON

With a little picture taped carefully to the bottom that he peels off with shaky, tentative fingers. “No way!” He booms, jumping back from you in shock. He looks down at the picture, up at you, back down at the picture, then up at you again with tears slipping over his cheeks. “But you said-“
“It was a surprise!” You squeal back as he swoops forward and scoops you into his arms, spinning you around in glee. “So no food poising? And no period?” He giggled out like a schoolgirl in shock. You shake your head. “Morning sickness and just a diversion. We’re having a baby!”
“We’re having a baby!” He repeats, louder. His words bounce of the walls that can barely contain the happiness inside of them. Threatening to burst at the seams as it fills beyond belief. This room, though incomplete, is perfect. Because you are in it together. Here, together in each other’s arms sharing in joy just like you’ve both shared in pain, hurt, love, happiness, nerves and everything else along the way. Head on, together.
“And this,” Jordan holds up the little football strip with his name printed across the back, his england appointed number proudly underneath, “This is perfect. You,” he pauses, leaning forward to capture your lips in his, “Are perfect.” His hands wander down to your stomach, placed gently over where his pea sized baby currently exists, growing and feeding on the love he intends to drown them in just like he does to you, “Both of you…perfect.”
It is perfect, really. Your love is. Even when it isn’t, it is. When he’s gone too long and you can’t see him because of a pandemic; the effort is made, emotions are shared. He tells you he misses you and his ego is never too big for its space in your relationship. When the world is against him or when fate turns against you both, it’s in each other’s arms that you find solace even if space is needed first. There’s an understanding of the love you have. It’s special. The kind that only a lucky few seem to find these days, a one people can look at and spot from a mile away. It’s beautiful, it’s own space taking entity that makes you both target to significant teasing from friends and family alike. It’s perfect.
Even when you fight over what blue is better to represent the sky just because your pregnant and too hormonal to admit he’d found the right colour before you did. Even when he coats you in paint that ends in an all out paint war, thankful you both removed all the furniture before painting. Even when you sob as your body changes, with pregnant emotions skewing your mind and making you question whether he’ll ever be attracted to you again, he’ll remind you that he’s never been more attracted to you than now. Housing his child, taking the aches, the pains and the changes like a true champ while he can do nothing but rub your feet and buy you ridiculous quantities of Solero ice creams. He’ll remind you in more ways that one just how perfect you are to him. Love by it’s very nature is as messy as that paint fight. It’s up and down and all over the place all the time. But the kind of love that you and Jordan have is a special that doesn’t waver, doesn’t dull or dim or change through time.
If anything, each day he loves you more. Even if he was convinced it wasn’t possible. But then it just was. Seeing you red in the face with sweat dripping over your forehead and tears leaking from your squeezed shut eyes as your screams echo through the room. All he could do was coax and coach, trying to tell you how proud of you he was. Even when you screamed that you despised him, he laughed and told you to squeeze his hand a little harder. It hurt, but that was nothing compared to the pain that you were enduring from multiple areas of your body as that baby ripped through you to make her grand entrance to the world, kicking and screaming just like the fighter her mother was. He thought his heart might burst with the amount of love he has, surely that’s as good as it gets?
No. No, it gets better still.
Everyday it’s better. Better when he gets to watch that woman that he loves so much sing to his tiny baby daughter, rocking in that chair under the painted rose arbor as she feeds from you. The most beautiful, natural thing in the world and he is enthralled by it. Watching you giggle at her she coos up at you. Placing her down in the crib beneath the gentle jingling of the cloud themed mobile next to the pale, sky blue coloured wall, blossoms falling, trickling down through clouds from a painted blossom tree on the wall and rose petals in variations of pink and red along the bottom of the crib. Roses and rose petals just like the ones that surrounded you on the day you danced with each other in under the trees of the garden that summer night. Roses like the ones you stood under to profess your love for one another. Roses, like the ones he took a knee beside, beneath and with one in his hand to give to you as he asked for your hand. Roses like you would stand beneath with one pinned to the breast of his suit to say the vows that would tie you in law to one another and to give you his name. Roses like the ones painted on the far wall, still fresh when you shared the news of that baby girl’s existence. Roses that were such an important symbol of the love you shared, pure and beautiful, sometimes painful but always worth the fight. Those roses painted on that crib with space for just one word carved into the wood.
Rose.
Your own beautiful little Rose.

Levi woke up early, as usual, however, he skipped his usual workout in favor of deep cleaning the house for the third time this week. Just as he was putting his broom back into the closet when the doorbell rang. He anxiously smoothed out his cotton dress shirt, tugging at the seam as he tried to tuck it into his pants.
“Hello-” His shoulders slumped when he found a young suburban housewife on the other side of the door instead of the gloomy social worker.
“Oh hi there! So sorry that it’s taken me so long but…” She held out a bottle of red wine with a neat ribbon tied around the neck.
“You didn’t have to,” Levi answered tensely as she beamed politely at him.
“I know but...it just felt like the right thing to do.” She shrugged, her strawberry blonde hair swaying, the strands just barely touched her shoulders.
“Well...thank you.” He thanked her, hoping that she would take the hint that this was a bad thing.
“No worries! By the way, my name is Petra, my husband and I live across the street.” She gabbed her thumb towards the house across from his.
“I’m Levi, nice to meet you.” He said, fighting to keep from grinding his teeth. It wasn’t that this woman was in the wrong, no it was simply the timing of her gesture. He was already on edge and he was never a fan of new people.
“Nice to meet you too! If you’re ever interested, we have a book club and-”
“Look, I appreciate the gesture but this isn’t the best time.” Levi cut her off and he felt a small pang of guilt at the way her expression dropped.
“Oh no of course! Anyway, you know where to find me.” She chuckled anxiously as she began her hasty retreat. It couldn’t have been soon enough, because a silver honda accord pulled into his driveway. Levi swallowed thickly as he watched Michelle climb out of her car and brave the icy sidewalk.
“Hope I’m not interrupting anything.” She said curtly as she pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose and waited for Levi to step aside. When she crossed the threshold, he shut and locked the door behind her. She immediately began checking out the front room and the living room. The house had a nice open floorplan, so the first thing that anyone saw when entering was the living room and kitchen.
“Not at all,” Levi responded as she slowly wandered into the kitchen. He followed helplessly behind her as she began jotting notes down on a clipboard.
“Well, I must say that I am impressed with the hast you made these arrangements.” She complimented as she paced down the hallway, poking her head into the room that Levi had prepared for Mikasa.
“I don’t like to leave projects unfinished.” He responded as he waited in the doorway.
“Admirable.” She scribbled a quick note before finding her way back into the kitchen. Levi chewed the inside of his cheek as he waited with bated breath for her next words.
“Everything seems in great condition here. I don’t see any reason that she can’t move in by Monday.” She placed her clipboard on the counter and faced him with a tense smile.
“Monday?” Levi couldn’t hide the nerves in his tone and she smiled genuinely.
“Of course, we try to keep kids out of the homes as much as possible. Have you figured out what you wish to do for child care?” She moved seamlessly onto the next topic and Levi nodded, motioning for her to take a seat at the island.
“Uh, there’s a daycare that I was looking at. I’m also looking for a nanny.” Levi said as she settled into her seat and he sat a chair away from her.
“Excellent, my only concern with the daycare is that she has been attending the same one for some time now. It’s not far from here, I would highly encourage that you keep that the same.” She went back to her clipboard, jotting down some more notes as Levi contemplated what she had said.
“Makes sense.” He mumbled as she placed her pen down with a soft sigh.
“I got to say, I’m very grateful for your enthusiasm with this, makes my job a lot easier.” She smiled at him and Levi nodded curtly.
“Anyway, I’ll drop her off Monday morning, I believe that her current foster family uses the same daycare that she’s attending, Carla is the mom’s name. She’s made it clear that she is more than willing to lend a hand if ever needed.” Michelle jotted down a number on a scrap piece of paper and slid it across the counter to Levi who blinked stupidly down at her chicken scratch.
“That’s all I need from you.” Michelle stood and gathered her things, Levi trailed behind her to the front door and watched her leave. It was already Thursday, meaning he had less than five full days to finish preparing for Mikasa’s arrival. He felt like a tortured spirit in his own home, wandering the halls hallowly, he had never lived in such a large space. Not that his past homes had been small, but rather, he had always lived with someone.
Kenny and he had shared a small trailer all through his elementary years and well into his high school years. Then in college, he had roomed with Erwin and Mike, first in the dorms and then in shitty apartments. But now, he was alone. At least it was only for a few more days, but could you really count a four-year-old as company?
He found himself once again outside of the empty room, standing right on the threshold. The mere sight of the room made his stomach sink, from the subtle baby pink comforter to the dresser that was filled with tiny clothes. He turned and shut the door softly before marching back into the living room. The mid-afternoon sun was drifting in through the front windows and he pinched the bridge of his nose.
His phone rang obnoxiously and he scrambled to dig it out of his pocket. Hange’s contact lit up his screen and he inhaled sharply, preparing himself for whatever it was that Hange found important enough to share with him at one pm on a Thursday.
“Levi, is this a good time?” That was his first red flag, Hange was never considerate of his time when she called.
“It’s fine why?” He sighed as he began pacing the length of his living room.
“Well, I’ve got excellent news.” Hange couldn’t contain the excitement in her voice.
“What is it?” He encouraged her and she let out a muted squeal.
“I’ve found the perfect nanny for you! She just graduated last semester, I’ll send you her contact info.” Levi felt a small weight lift off of his chest, even though it wasn’t set in stone, at least he was making headway.
“She’s done this before, ever since she was a senior in high school actually. She told me over lunch that her usual employer doesn’t need her anymore so she’s on the hunt for a job!” Hange babbled on and Levi nodded along as he dropped onto the leather sofa.
“Got it thank you.” He confirmed as the ping of her sending the contact info came through his phone.
“Have her over for dinner, or maybe go out for tea. Ask her some questions and I’m sure you’ll find her more than qualified. She has no commitments so I bet if you can make her like you, then she’ll stick around for a while.” Hange chuckled deviously and Levi clicked his tongue.
“I have no idea what criteria I even have to look at to see if she’s qualified.” Levi scoffed and Hange snorted.
“Mikasa’s four years old, she has school and such, I mean as far as I’m concerned your nanny just needs to be able to drive and cook.” Hange shrugged as she flipped through her lesson planner.
“There’s got to be more than just that.” Levi bit the skin on his knuckle as he began wracking his brain for what makes a good nanny.
“Sure there is, I’m just brainstorming.” Hange chuckled and Levi rolled his eyes.
“I’ll make a list.” He concluded and Hange hummed her agreement.
“That’s a great idea, I mean in the end she’s going to be working for you so just put down qualities that you think make a good worker. Or something.” Hange seemed rather indifferent and Levi felt his jaw tick in annoyance.
“Right, well thanks.”
“No problem, catch ya later!” And with that, she hung up.
--
Levi stood outside of the coffee shop. He snuck one last glance at the shortlist that he had made. His brow creased when he read through it, the first point he had put down was: in-state driver’s license. Closely followed by good hygiene. Frustration bubbled into his chest as he wadded the paper up and shoved it deep into his pocket. He finally pushed through the door and approached the familiar counter. He ordered his usual and went to sit in one of the secluded booths in the back.
He had arrived a good ten minutes early, hoping to gather himself before meeting the nanny. As he watched the steam rise off of his cup of tea he savored the few moments of silence. That was until the bell on the door chimed. He knew it was you, Hange had described you in-depth when he had told her he reached out to you that evening she sent your contact.
Your hair was pulled back off of your face in a half up half down style. You wore a pair of fitted jeans and a knitted sweater. Levi watched you as you ordered your drink, you seemed so sure of yourself, the way your shoulders were pulled back and your jaw set in determination. Already off to a good start and he hadn’t even heard you speak. Levi watched you grab your drink before doing a half-turn, eyes scanning the small cafe. They landed on him and Levi knew he’d been caught staring. He did a small tilt of his head, inviting you to join him, you smiled warmly and took quick steps in his direction.
Levi stood and extended his hand to you, which you accepted with a firm handshake.
“You must be Mr. Ackerman.” Your voice was smooth and honeyed, immediately putting him at ease.
“Levi is fine.” He said as he sat back down in the booth. You slid down into the seat opposite of him, clutching your purse in your lap.
“I understand that you have some...experience.” Levi started a bit awkwardly. You nodded eagerly and pulled out a folded piece of paper.
“Of course, in the past, it’s mostly been under the table, but we can work around that of course.” Levi examined the typed-out document. A resume of your past jobs and a few recommendations from past employers.
“Under the table is fine…” He mumbled as he thumbed through the pages.
“So, Hange told me a bit about your...unique situation.” You pressed and Levi stilled in his motions.
“What’d she tell you?” He asked, grey eyes boring into you from over the tops of the papers.
“Just that you were a new parent and you needed a hand. Takes a village you know.” You chuckled a bit tensely and Levi felt some tension leave his shoulders. At least Hange had given him the liberty of explaining himself.
“She’s not wrong, I’ve taken custody of my distant cousin, I know nothing about child-rearing,” Levi admitted point blank and you weren’t sure if he was kidding or not. When his expression remained as cold as stone, you realized that he was in fact not.
“I see...I’ll admit that I don’t have much experience with...well stuff like this either.” You smiled at him in an attempt to diffuse the tension between the two of you. Levi’s eyes narrowed and he reclined back into the booth, eyes never leaving yours.
“We’ll just come up with it as we go.”
“So you’re set on me as your nanny?” You beamed and he scowled, although you were right. Levi knew from the moment he shook your hand that he would choose you.
“Yes, Mikasa arrives on Monday and I expect you to be there when she does.” Levi scoffed, lifting his teacup by the rim and taking a long sip.
“Be where exactly?” You were getting smart, something that simultaneously annoyed and intrigued him.
“My house, I’ll send you the address the day before,” Levi answered with a roll of his eyes.
“Sounds perfect.” You hummed, lifting your coffee cup to your own lips.
“What are my hours going to be?” You asked as you placed your cup back onto the tabletop.
“Mikasa goes to half days at preschool, so I’ll need you to drop her off and pick her up from that. She needs to be dropped off at eight am and picked up at noon.” Levi tapped his finger on the rim of his cup and you nodded.
“I can do that, so I’ll fix all three meals then?” You asked and Levi felt a tinge of guilt. He knew that he wasn’t completely prepared to be a parent, but he still felt ashamed for seeking help. Kenny had raised him to be independent. It had taken so much to reach out to Hange, and now he was relying on a strange young woman.
“Yes, that’s preferred. I don’t have any rules besides keeping the house spotless.” His finger was planted on the tabletop now to emphasize the importance of his only rule. You nodded in understanding.
“You can set the boundaries for Mikasa, I trust that you have enough experience in this area.” Levi continued and you tensed. Never had you ever had so much responsibility riding on a nanny position. Your employers set the rules and you enforced them, but now you were expected to be both parties. But when Levi slid a paper across the table your eyes widened. On the notepad was a range of wages that he was willing to pay. You struggled to contain your shock as you clutched the paper.
“T-This is way too much.” You squeaked as you pushed the paper back to Levi.
“Seems reasonable to me.” He shrugged and you felt your face flush.
“Well...it’s your money after all.” You reasoned as you grappled internally to regain your composure.
“But if at any time and for any reason you need to lower it that’s fine too.” You waved your hands in front of you and Levi’s brows pinched together.
“Don’t worry about it.” He assured you and set his empty cup aside.
“Was there anything else you wanted to cover?” You asked, sneaking a glance at your watch.
“That’s all from me, I’ll text you my address and get you set up to pick up and drop off with the school,” Levi said as he pulled his coat on over his shoulders. Your cup was still full so you remained seated as you watched him straighten the fabric of his jacket.
“Alright, see you Monday morning then.” You said as he marched towards the door, his posture rigid. As soon as he disappeared through the door, the doubt swirled in your chest. You had never worked this many hours and the added pressure of Mikasa coming from a traumatic past made you uneasier. But you weren’t one to shy away from a challenge, you pulled your phone out and began to dive headfirst into the internet. After about twenty minutes of scrolling through countless tabs and foster parent forums, you felt at least somewhat prepared.
You ended up ordering three more cups of coffee, by the time you were halfway through your third cup, your hands shook as you held your phone. The screen was beginning to put a strain on your eyes as you squinted at the black font. With a heavy sigh, you placed your phone screen down on the table and tossed your head back against the booth’s cushion. After a few deep breaths, you collected your things and made your way out into the chilly air, determined to continue gathering information and preparing yourself for the task at hand.
--
Levi did some research of his own that afternoon. Sitting in his desk chair, he clicked through tabs, a simple google search had shown him your Instagram. He had been relieved to find it public, your page seemed average, nothing too out of the ordinary. But he was disappointed to find it rather small, with not a lot of posts or followers. It seemed that you, like himself, were not too fond of posting every small movement that you made for the world to see. In fact, your most recent post was from almost a full year ago, right around spring break. The post was a compilation of photos you had taken on a biology trip that Hange had organized. He closed the tab and pulled up a new one, the official website for the daycare that Mikasa had been attending. He found the phone number and dialed it into his keypad on his phone. He needed to register you as one of Mikasa’s emergency contacts and as her primary source of transportation.
The process was easy and he was relieved to be able to check it off of his list so he could at least attempt and get some of his work done. He needed to savor these last few child-free days before Mikasa became a permanent and very prominent factor in his life.
__
As promised, Levi sent you a text with nothing but his address and the time he expected you there the next morning. Your sleep that night was fitful, tossing and turning well into the early hours. You only ended up sleeping a grand total of six hours before having to get up and get ready for your first day of work. You sifted through your closet in search of an appropriate outfit, as badly as you wanted to wear a sweatshirt and a pair of jeans, you knew Levi would likely frown upon it.
So you ended up choosing a plush sweater and a pair of jeans. Pleased with your appearance, you then left your small apartment and made the twenty-minute drive out to the suburbs where Levi was located. The roads were icy the sky was dark with promises of more snow, by the time you had arrived a few fat flakes were already dwindling from the sky. You parked on the side of the road, careful to not block his mailbox, and trudged up the slick driveway and up to the front door. It only took one soft knock for him to pull the door open. He was as handsome as you remembered, his hair was damp from a shower and his hands were busy as he finished tying his tie. He stepped aside and walked back into his house as you kicked the snow off of your shoes.
The space was remarkably clean considering a single man occupied the space. Levi gestured vaguely with his head for you to follow him into the kitchen and you obliged. He pulled out a neon green piece of paper and handed it to you, Mikasa’s name was written in stark penmanship.
“That’s your tag to pick her up, don’t forget it.” He said as he shoved a set of keys into his back pocket.
“Is she here?” Your voice was hushed and your eyes strayed to the hallway which was dark.
“Not yet, the service worker should be here any minute now,” Levi said as he folded his collar down over his tie and finally turned to face you.
“Oh, alright. So what time are you usually off of work?” You asked, setting your purse on the island in the kitchen. Levi sighed and licked his lips thoughtfully.
“Depends...I normally stay late but technically my workday ends at 5:30 but I probably will be at least an hour later than that.” Levi said and you nodded along in understanding.
“That’s not a problem, do you have any idea of what time Mikasa goes to sleep at?” You asked, and judging by the way his shoulders tensed up, he did not.
“Not a clue, but I’ll ask the social worker.” He assured you and you nodded, allowing your eyes to scan over the kitchen. The marble countertops were so white and obviously well kept, you knew that they would give you grief, the oven and microwave looked fancy, as did the fridge. As Levi reached up for a cup from one of the deep navy cupboards, you noted that they were the kind that shut quietly. Your staring was interrupted by the shrill ring of the doorbell. Levi sat his cup aside and walked briskly back towards the front door.
“Good morning Mr. Ackerman, may we come in?” An unfamiliar voice could be heard, followed closely by the sound of two new sets of footsteps on the hardwood floors.
“Of course.” Levi’s voice was even lower and harder to make out as the newcomers shuffled in. They rounded the corner and your heart felt like it was beating out of your chest when your eyes landed on the small girl. She wore a white dress paired with a pink cardigan and a scarlet scarf. The older woman helped Mikasa out of her plush pink coat and draped it over her forearm.
“Who is this?” The woman asked, eyes slightly widened as they landed on you.
“This is (Y/n), my nanny,” Levi said vaguely and the woman nodded slowly before gently pushing Mikasa out from behind her legs.
“Honey, why don’t we go take a look at your new room?” The woman asked and the girl’s brows knitted together, but she let the social worker guide her down the hall and out of sight. Levi tailed behind them, you almost followed as well, but you feared overwhelming her. Levi hauled the small suitcase down the hall and you heard the soft chatter of the two adults. A few moments passed before they returned, the social worker shook Levi’s hand and knelt down to give Mikasa a tender hug.
“We’ll be in touch.” She promised as she showed herself out. Levi’s shoulders drooped once the woman left and he looked down at the small girl who stood near his side.
“Mikasa,” He cleared his throat and the small girl looked up at him, eyes swimming with tears and lip quivering. A rush of panic flooded his chest but you were quicker than he was.
“Mikasa, my name is (Y/n), we’re going to be spending a lot of time together.” You had crossed the room to kneel before her with your hand outstretched invitingly. The girl gripped the edge of her dress and swayed it anxiously as she avoided your eyes.
“I know this is really scary and confusing, but we’re going to work through this together.” You assured her when she remained closed off. Levi watched with wide eyes as tears slid down her face and rolled off her chin. You leaned forward and swiped them away with your thumb and Mikasa whimpered unsurely.
“Tell you what, I was just about to make some breakfast. Have you eaten yet?” You asked, after a moment of contemplation, Mikasa shook her head no shyly.
“What would you like? I’ve been told that I make a mean waffle.” You smiled wryly and Mikasa’s lip quivered as it quirked up in an unsure smile.
“I wanna make cinnamon rolls.” She spoke softly and you nodded with wide eager eyes.
“Totally.” You agreed, still holding your hand out as you slowly stood. Mikasa accepted your outstretched, her small hand was easily enveloped in your own as you led her around the island.
“Hey Levi, how much time before you’ve got to leave?” You asked as you stopped to hoist Mikasa up onto the counter.
“About 30 minutes.” He said, trying to contain himself from scolding you for putting the child onto the counter.
“Want to help us?” You invited and Levi sighed, knowing it would be wrong to decline.
“I don’t have cinnamon rolls.” He said instead of answering the original question.
“Oh that’s not a problem. Do you have flour? Yeast, eggs?” You asked as you turned and began rummaging through the cabinets.
“Of course, I’m not an animal.” He scoffed and you chuckled as you pulled out a bag of flour.
“That’s all we need.” You sat the bag next to Mikasa who reached out and touched it experimentally. Next you pulled out the carton of eggs from the fridge, Mikasa opened the carton and gently held an egg. Levi could easily imagine her losing her grip and dropping the egg onto his freshly cleaned wood floors.
“Where’s your cinnamon?” You asked, back turned and arms outstretched as you held the cabinet open.
“Here.” Levi slid past you, opening the neighboring cabinet and held the spice out to you. With a smile you accepted it and added the container to the growing pile of ingredients.
“How long does this take?” Levi asked, glancing at his watch.
“Not 30 minutes.” You answered wryly as you handed Mikasa a wooden spoon, she accepted it happily. Her small hands wrapped around the handle and she placed the spoon against her cheek, basically hugging the utensil.
“What else do you need?” He asked as you perused his kitchen.
“Just yeast and sugar.” You answered as you crouched to look for a bowl.
“It’s over here.” He opened a cabinet near the one you were inspecting and pulled out a bag of sugar and a handful of yeast packets.
“Do you cook a lot?” You asked and he shrugged.
“Enough, I hate eating out.” He answered and you hummed in understanding.
Levi watched as you began making the dough and Mikasa leaned on your shoulder as you kneaded the dough. Her grey eyes widened when you motioned for her to join in. She poked the dough and you smiled as she splayed her small hands over the surface of the squishy dough.
Once again, all Levi could think about how dirty her hands were as she began kneading the dough as you had previously.
“That’s great! Now we can let it sit for a while before we roll them up!” You explained as you gathered the dough back up into the bowl and laid a kitchen towel over it.
“Want an apple while we wait?” You asked and Mikasa nodded enthusiastically as you turned to grab the fruit. Levi looked at his watch once more, he still had about 10 minutes before he had to leave. But he felt the pressure and reality of his newfound responsibility weighing heavy on his chest. So he went to get his shoes and retreat like the coward he was.
“Leaving?” You asked as he pulled his shoes on, you had already cut the apple and Mikasa was watching with curious eyes as she crunched on a slice.
“Yeah, I’ll be back before 8.” He promised and you nodded.
“See you then.” You called after him as he slipped out of the garage door, throwing up a careless wave of acknowledgment as he went. You then turned back to Mikasa and sighed exasperatedly and she giggled as you returned to making her breakfast. This was going to be a long day.

Ch. 11 - Fightin’ Words - Life is but a Dream (Spike Spiegel x Reader)
Tumblr media
[A/N] to clarify before I begin, I do NOT hate Faye. There will be a following chapter to explain how we got from point A to point B, since now that I see it, this chapter seems like a stretch. I apologize if the writing is a little shitty, I got too excited when writing it, and I was basically vomiting words onto my screen. Enjoy!
Previous chapter: Ch.10
⛔️ WARNING: this chapter contains implied sexual content, drinking, and strong language
-
There is a clear difference in kissing. One was for lust, meant to excite and give pleasure to the receiving, as a plus on to tie in all the ingridients for good sex. The other was for love, showing affection and those deep emotional feelings that both parties were in need of.
The lines were blurring.
Wanting this to be a strictly physical relationship, other elements started to incorporate their way into your escapades. And now Spike knows almost everything about you. Eating habits, what makes you laugh, and the type of people you hate. Talking for hours on end, both of life and it’s ridiculous nature, there was no off time between you both. It felt good.
The quiet moment after you left his room for your own, a faltering feeling of sadness and loneliness enters Spike. The urge to grab you and bring you back to his bed for the night was strong. He tried to get you to stay (always subtly), but to no avail. Well aware of your need for space, he always respected your decision.
The crank that was once rusty, was in Spike’s head as his mind ran endlessly of if you liked him or not. It was a thought, a discussion he wanted to put off for so long. The consequences of his doubt were going to hurt, especially when it was going to be that time to go. The reassurance that this was only a fling, a friends with benefits deal, was on its way to be tossed out of the trash chute into space.
“Trust me, Spiegel, I’ve had plenty of time as a child to know what I’m talking about.” You said as Spike passed you his cigarette.
“About what?” He asked, completely clueless.
“Rocks. Crystals, geodes. Have you not been listening?” You scolded, scoffing as Spike shook his head.
“The library in the city gave the orphanage books they didn't want anymore. My favorite book was the one about rocks on Mars, of course it was simplified for my small brain…”
Head in his hand, Spike listened as you rambled mindlessly of all the different rock formations on Mars. As much as he wanted to learn, he couldn’t help but be distracted by his acknowledgment of your presence. More specifically, the air you brought in the room. Spike began to think of it as his favorite perfume, sweet and sultry, with a hint of spice. It made him feel safe.
You were so attractive when you were educating him. He hated to hear it from Jet or anyone else, but you made it interesting.
“You’re pretty hot.”
“Huh? Oh, yeah thanks. Anyways, like I was saying…”You replied, flattered by his sudden proclamation.
“I’m serious. You’re talking all smart to me, and I can’t help but tell you that.” Spike smirked. “I think I learned more from you than in high school.”
You laughed softly. “I tell you because I know you’re dumber than a bag of hammers.”
“Is that so?” Spike raised his eyebrows. Why was your teasing making him feel even better? “You’re going to regret saying that.”
“I only have one, and not that.” You smiled slyly, the glint in Spike’s eye becoming more noticeable.
“I’m about to make it two.”
“I would love to see you try.”
You put your hands up to defend yourself, Spike’s smooth moves rendering you helpless. In a second, he had your arms pinned down by your sides, a deep throated chuckle emitting from him as he watched you struggle. There was no danger but that of falling to his charm and whim.
“I don’t regret this.” You panted.
“Sounds like the best decision I’ve made.” Spike mumbled, gaze traveling all over your face. He brushes the stray hairs from your face, fingers tracing your hairline and ears. He was so close, you could feel his breath on your neck, threatening to brush his lips on yours.
“Can I ask you something?” Spike broke the silence. You nodded eagerly.
“I-“ He began, cut off by the loud knocking on the door.
“Spike? Spike? Are you there?” Jet called out.
There is no answer, except you panicking over whether Jet sees you naked or sprawled out on Spike’s bed. The only sound that could’ve been heard was the thuds of you scrambling around the room, looking for your bra and panties. Spike watches in amusement, not caring at all at the dilemma you both were in.
“Yeah?” Spike called out, the clink of his lighter going off.
“I was going to ask if you wanted to come up to the bridge for a drink, got a few good bottles of gin from our last bounty.”
“I’ll be there in a minute.”
“Good.” Jet finished. Footsteps drew further away down the hallway and supposdely onto the stairs. You sighed in relief, getting dressed at a leisurely pace. Safe, once again.
“Y/n, you can come too if you would like.” The loud booming laughter of Jet filled the hallway, masking your dread.
This evening was going to be delightful.
-
“Where's the gin?” You said in confidence, like you weren’t just caught in Spike’s room. Hopefully he wouldn’t see the slight limp in your step either.
“I have it, but I knew it would be a good bait to get some help up here.” He replied.
“Then I want at least half the bottle as a down payment. And an apology.” You scowled, taking a peek on the holo computer, skimming over the briefing for the next bounty.
Jet chuckled. “Now young lady, I have something very important to ask you.”
“Huh, you and Spike. I’m not too scared of yours.” You glanced at him, sitting in his seat.
Jet rested himself against the table, nodding. “I was going to say that us boys and Ed really enjoy you here. These last few months have been the best one this ship has seen in a while, and you are welcome to stay however long you want, kid.”
You knew you were doing well, but now you caught the bag. Jackpot. “You’re just saying that because I feed you all.”
“That's part of it too.” Jet grinned. “But I’m serious, (y/n). I think all of us could vote in favor of a new crew member. What do you say?”
Thinking, you remembered your freedom, sought as a child. That’s all you ever wanted, was to be out and allowed to do whatever you could. But deep down, the thing you really needed was a home. A family.
You could find that here on the Bebop. Even if you got a rocky start, it was smooth sailing for now. You felt wanted. That’s what you needed.
“Doesn’t sound too bad. I’m down.” You beamed.
“Glad you agreed, or else it would’ve been real awkward if you said no.” Jet replied, giving you a soft pat on your back.
“Mmm, would you kick me out if I declined this most generous offer?” You teased.
“Kid, you have my respect, I would let you pack first then throw you out.”
You cracked up, the deal was done. As you sat in your new home, you couldn't help but feel eternally grateful. “I really owe you one, Jet. You really got me out of a tight spot.”
Jet nodded as he searched for something on the control board.
“Was..was that how Spike came around? Picked him up like a stray?” You asked, surprised at your brazen question.
Jet stops messing with the controls, paused as he tries to peace his words together. “To be honest, I can’t even remember when or how Spike joined me here. He just popped up one day, and I haven’t been able to shake him off.” Jet gave a small titter. “Ah, (y/n). The man’s been through it tough.”
“Can I ask?” You said meekly.
“All that time spent together, and he hasn’t told you?” Jet chaffed, a smirk starting to grow.
Shit. “We haven’t spent much time talking today.” Fuck it, no use in denying it now.
“That’s what I thought.” He snickered. “Well, let me put it this way. A heartbroken man is a lonely one. He roams the galaxy in search of finding a way to fill the void left in him, either desperate to find something new. Or leave the void empty, allowing himself to wither away peacefully.”
“Hmm.” You replied shortly. A lot wasn't said, but it made sense.
“I’m only saying this once, (Y/n). He’s changing, and for the better. I haven’t seen him smile so much sober. I have to thank you for that.”
You made a change, as small as it was. You hear footsteps approaching the bridge, the sliding door opening to reveal Spike. As he quietly passes you by, he shoots you a small wink, making you blush. Spike sits down with a sigh, his legs propped up on the control panel.
“Easy, I’m still working there.” Jet warns as he hands Spike a drink.
“Then how come you're not sitting here?” He smirks, side-eyeing you to watch him kick up dirt.
You smile back, letting their conversation fade away slowly. This moment, you had to screenshot it. It doesn’t look like a normal family, but it wasn't dysfunctional. You had a crazy red haired computer genius as a sibling, along with a dog that you think could do math better than you. It topped nicely with a protective mentor and teacher with one robotic arm, and a man who you didn't think you could even get near without getting your arm bitten off.
Someone was missing. She hasn’t been seen all day, but that’s typical. As an official member of the Bebop, there was no back burner now. You could turn off your predatory instinct on your prey. The hunt on Faye was over. You didn't have to be her best friend, just tolerate her attitude enough when she decides to stay on the ship for longer than a day. You really didn't want to fight her, but sometimes she made it so difficult. Besides, you were too tired anyways.
The little get together was carrying on joyfully, now joined by Ed and Ein. Ed wandered aimlessly in all directions on the bridge, babbling on about all the buttons and flashing lights. You sat next to Spike in your own chair, feeling the small soft padded pushes of Ein on your legs.
“What is it boy?” You asked sweetly, reaching down to rub the top of his ears. He jumps on his hind legs, trying his best to climb up onto your lap. You cooed at him, picking him up and placing him snuggly on your thighs. You swore you could’ve seen him smile as your pet his fluffy face, massaging his soft head.
Spike leaned over, whispering. “Do you think I can get a massage too?”
Before you could respond, Ein gave a small huff, one eye opening to watch out for his competition. “I’m sorry, but the baby said no.”
Jet laughed as Spike smiled. You looked down to see that Spike’s glass was still full, while Jets was drained of all gin. You were working on yours at a slower pace. “You don’t feel like drinking tonight?”
“Hmm?” Spike looked down at his drink, sloshing it against its glass walls. “ Oh, I’ll get to it.” He said before reaching out and touching your back gently, his fingers tracing circles on your spine.
What a win-win situation, Ein gets to be loved on and you get to be petted, you thought. Goosebumps rose on your arms as Spike continued. The sky turned to night, all the stars in the galaxy could be seen from the bridge’s giant front window. Ed was curled up in a ball in front of it, tuckering herself out. Ein provided some warmth to Ed, loafing on Ed’s stomach. Their snores mixed in together, obnoxiously loud, but incredibly cute.
Spike never got to his drink, so he offered it to you instead. Two was all you needed to finish off the night. You took over Ein’s spot on Spike’s lap, your arms wrapped around his neck as you conversated with the boys. His hands rubbed the side part of your stomach before interlocking, his heated palms providing comfort. You wouldn’t mind falling asleep here.
The flash of Faye’s Redtail blinded you as she clumsily parked out on the flight deck. You didn't care as long as she didnt destroy the hangar, then you all would be in huge trouble.
“She’s home early.” Jet stated, watching as she stumbled out of the ship.
“It’s not even midnight yet. Think she missed us?” Spike called out sarcastically.
“Doubt it.”
This was the last of peaceful silence for the night, you thought. You were hoping not to jinx it.
BAM!
Everybody around you whipped their heads to the source of the sound, except yours, because you knew exactly who it was and what was going to happen. Ein used Ed’s stomach as a launching pad, frightened at the loud noise. What could you say, you have a knack for sensing a challenge. The only thing was, you were not in a mood to seek it. It was brought to you, sucking all good energy out of the room and switching it to a fireball of jealousy.
In walked a staggering Faye, pleased with her grand entrance. She tipped to one side, before switching to the other slightly. Just one look was all it took before you gulped the rest of your drink down, flipping the glass on its head. You could see out of the corner of your eye Spike’s focus was on you. His brows furrowed, head tilting as if to ask what were you doing. Your reply was a swift head rub, his hair swooshing.
“Evening, Faye.” Jet chimed, pushing the bottle of gin closer to his side behind him on his control board. There was no way she was getting any more tonight.
Your gaze changed to Jet, who you thought could also sense the new air in the bridge. He sat at the edge of his seat, arm resting on his knee. What was he waiting for?
A small hiccup bounced off the metal walls, prompting Faye to trip and catch herself on the main control board in the middle of the room. Her eyes closed, she began to shake her head side to side, a small manic giggle escaping her mouth.
“You just-just can’t keep your fucking hands off of him, can’t you?”
You felt a shiver of shock rest on your shoulders as you turned your head to face Faye. Before you could speak, Spike opened his mouth to defend you.
“The hell is wrong with you?” Spike retorted, his hands now pressed firmly on your waist.
“Everything was just fine without her, you-“ Faye snarled as she pointed to Jet, “just had to have a heart.”
“There’s nothing wrong with that.” Jet replied cautiously.
Faye circled around the control table, using it as support or else she tumbled over. A mumbled slur of insults, consisting of calling you a slut and Spike an idiot. She was drunk, you thought. Let it run off like water. She will be fine once she’s in her bed, snoring her way into a killer hangover. You couldn’t shake that feeling that you needed to start gearing up. You wiggled out of Spike’s hold, planting your feet firmly down as you lean on the control table.
“I..I honestly don’t get it.” Faye said aloud.
“Get what, Faye?” You piped up, the slightest shake in your voice.
Oh! So it can talk!” She cackled out loud. “Let me tell you what, since you asked!”
“Please, I would love to know.”
Her pointer finger shoved right in your face, furiously wanting to make contact. “I-I find it hard to believe that you managed to get him to fuck you.”
“Jesus, Faye, in front of the kids?”
“Fuck that! She’s going to hear what I have to say, whether the slut likes it or not.”
As angry as you should’ve been, coolness was all you displayed. The voice in the back of your head reminded you of unforgettable advice you knew all too well. Alcohol could be a very good truth serum.
“What a f-fucking slut … you know how I think y-you managed to stay on this tin can of a ship?” She muttered. “You have to be f-fucking the captain.”
“That’s enough! Leave until you sober up.” Jet stood up, standing in the space between you and Faye. “Not having any of that on my ship.”
You looked at Spike, face frozen in a silent menacing fury. Leaning back on the console, you kept glancing to see Faye moving further and further away towards the door. That was it, the show's over. But someone had some kind parting words.
“Hey, how about this! I bet Spike has to cover your face while fucking your ugly ass, I would too, you stupid-“
Your knuckles had never stung so bad, but it felt so good to watch Faye’s head swing back. A flurry of raged-filled punches landed on either side of her face, so fast it didnt give her enough time to react. Waking up, Faye gave a heavy footed kick to your side, prompting you to scream out in pain.
Each swing of her high leg swings missed as you ducked, giving you a chance for an uppercut into her stomach. You could hear the sound of the wind knocking out of her with each punch. Faye’s hand pulled your hair back roughly, fists meeting across your face, swiping your nose. Intense pressure built up, the threat of blood leaking out of your nose becoming evident. She wanted to play dirty?
We can play dirty.
You used everything you had in you. Scratching, biting, kicking. You were not going to lose. You did not give two shits if she was vulnerable, this bitch was going down. It felt like forever until you felt the strong arms of Spike yanking you away from the fighting ground.
“Hey, hey, hey!” You heard Jet roar, becoming a flesh and metal cage around Faye’s upper arms, taking a small beating as she tried to claw her way back to you. Ed was yelping and screaming at the top of her lungs, while Ein barked and yowled at the commotion.
“Stop, (y/n), its me you’re hitting, damn it!” Spike yelped as you gave the last swings, realizing that the fight was just about over. You panted, the painful injection of adrenaline overcame your body. You watched on in pity as Jet tried to get Faye to calm down. As you trudged back to your seat, with the help of Spike, the last word was finally given out of the door.
“Get comfy bitch, I’m going nowhere!” You screamed.
“And I know who burned your ship, but there’s no way I’m telling you, you dumb cunt!”
Other insults flew in your direction, but were ignored. You stood in disbelief as you let the major bombshell play over and over. Feeling the soft tug of Spike pulling you back gently down to your seat, letting you wallow for a second. He knelt in front of you, examining your growing black eye and red welts on your face. “Damn, that's going to leave a mark.”
You looked away from him, tears welling in your eyes.
“Oh (y/n), I didn't mean it like that, it doesn’t look that bad.” Spike apologized as you sniffled.
“It’s not that. I-its that..'' sobs so quietly, but causes the greatest quivering, “she knows who did this to me, and won't even fess up because she hates me. What kind of shit is that?”
Tears fell freely onto your lap, pain induced by your loss fueling more hurt. It was so cold by yourself, a shell encasing you in. Through the mists of your tears, the shell was just Spike’s chest moving closer in. The heat of his body provided consolation without words, the tightness and slight rocking bringing you down to a clearer, more relaxed consciousness.
“I’ll catch them for you.” Spike mumbled into your ear, his hands massaging the back of your head. “It won't bring anything back, but if that will make you feel better, I'll do it.”
This wasn’t an empty promise. There was sincerity behind Spike’s words, wanting to help you. It was now confirmed just how much you meant to him. He was willing to assist for payback. His offer was sweet, but it didn't feel right. This wasnt his struggle, it was yours.
You were going to catch them, and only God knew the hell you were going to bring.

Nights in the City.
Crime Boss! Min Yoongi x Sassy College student OC!
Part 1/?
For all that city is supposed to be a thriving metropolis with bustling traffic no matter what the hour, it still felt incredibly creepy to be standing inside a deserted midnight mart, clutching three packs of highlighter pens, a pack of condoms and a pack of tampons.
But it was finals week, and that generally meant that either
a.) I would stress the fuck out of myself and my period would come on early
or
b.) I would run out of highlighters , fail to highlight the most important part of my notes , forget all about it during the exam and end up dropping a whole grade over it.
or
c.) I would be so horny, would manage to sneak a guy into my room and at the last minute , we would both realize we didn't have protection.
Sounds oddly specific?
These are actual things that have happened to me so, one could say I was merely being smartly proactive by preparing a contingency plan for when or in case things went wrong.
Such wisdom, much wow.
And so here i was at the local all night mart, waiting for the drunk out of his mind kid to pay for his flavored water .
My legs ached, it was pouring cats and dogs outside, and I could feel a headache come on.
Just as the guy finished paying, i felt a surge of relief. Great, I could pay and finally leave, thank you Lord, angels and every saint chilling next to Jesus-
A hand shot out from behind me slapping a wad of 100000 won bills on the counter.
"Need to see the CCTV footage from this evening kid." A low gravelly voice rumbled in my ear , so disgustingly hot it bordered on obscene.
I turned around to glare at the stranger, only to feel my breath catch in my throat.
A breathtakingly beautiful man stood right behind me, dressed in what looked like a Valentino Tux, ebony dark hair and tattoos that stood out stark against his pale skin.
He was tall and lithe, eyes cat-like yet blazing with anger ? passion? a love for opera music?
Well whatever it was, it was potent.
As was his cologne .
I gagged a little.
"Excuse me, pretty boy.... you're in my space." I snapped .
He looked surprised, like he really hadn't noticed my five foot four ass dressed in a lime green fleece jacket and purple yoga pants.
He tilted his head.
"Excuse me?"
That fucking drawl.
Rolling my eyes i pointed at the board that said " Wait your Turn."
"Can't you read?" I snapped.
He didn't reply, merely staring at me carefully, as though memorizing all my features before giving me a very blatant once over.
Not to be outdone, I did the same to him and the small smile on his face grew into an amused smirk.
The cashier's panicked voice drew us both out of our little eye fuck fest.
"Miss, please if you could step aside... hyungnim I'm so sorry...let me get the tapes for you at once..."
"That's alright. i'll send one of my men to get it later. Why don't you finish billing her items first?" He said softly. He gave me another small smile.
"Since you asked so nicely, petal." he rasped out, reaching out and gently brushing the hair off my face.
i frowned at the little endearment.
Well, no matter.
Satisfied , both at having stood up for myself and not having it backfire in my face, I grinned wide at the cashier.
Why did he look so terrified? Geez.
I finished paying and then politely stepped out of the line, indicating to Mr. Tuxedo that he could go next.
But he didn't .
instead he followed me as i walked out.
"Where do you live?" He asked casually.
I blinked, confused.
“What? Why?”
“So I can drop you off. It’s late and the city gets dangerous at night.”
I rolled my eyes.
“The city isn’t dangerous..” I lowered my voice , curling my fingers to get him to lean closer. He obliged obediently, moving closer and bending low till his ear was almost level with my lips, “ I am dangerous.”
He straightened, brows raised and lips parted.
“Oh? You are?”
I grinned conspiratorially.
“Listen, you look rich and kind of handsome so I’m going to assume that you aren’t going to mug me, so I’ll show you. Now, the reason I’m wearing this jacket that makes me look like the hulk jizzed all over me is, this jacket is the only jacket I have with big enough pockets to carry this.”
I slipped a hand into my pocket and pulled out my trusty pepper spray.
“Ah. Smart.” He nodded in approval.
“And Dangerous.” I reminded him.
“Definitely dangerous.” He nodded again, solemnly.
Satisfied, I slipped the can back in.
“So really, kind stranger I’m perfectly safe to walk the dark streets of Seoul on this night.”
He smiled and held both hands up , stepping away respectfully.
“A strong independent woman who don’t need no man.” He said with a grin, “ Noted.”
“I’m Shinhye. What’s your name?” I asked brightly.
“Yoongi.” He smiled.
I nodded.
“Alright, Yoongi. I’m gonna go now… By the way why’d you want the CCTV footage?” I smiled at him.
Yoongi hesitated before giving me a small shrug.
“I stabbed a guy in the neck in the store this afternoon . Just wanted to make sure my men turned off the CCTV when it happened.”
I was still smiling, waiting for him to laugh at the joke, which was definitely creepy, but perhaps just in theme with what we had been discussing.
But he didn’t laugh.
And I felt the first stirrings of worry.
“Ha ha ha.” I said nervously.” That’s funny. L-O-L.”
He tilted his head.
“You think stabbing people is funny?”
I blinked, horrified.
“What, of course not… I mean… You didn’t actually stab anyone did you?”
He hesitated.
“To be fair, he stole from me. If I didn’t stab him and drop his body in the Han, then other people are going to think its okay to steal from me too and I just can’t have that.” He said with a shake of his head.
I opened my mouth to say that the joke had stopped being funny, when three other scars came skidding into the parking lot. I yelped, stumbling on a stray rock and Yoongi caught me, hands firm on my arms , drawing me into the warmth of his chest to keep me from falling.
“Careful, petal.” He breathed right against my ear and I froze staring at the men climbing out of the cars.
Now, these men, I could believe were capable of stabbing people.
They wore small dagger at their waist, the outline of pistol holsters on their sides and their thighs.
“Boss, it’s done. We got rid of him. He’ll be fish chow by the morning.” One of them said cheerfully.
Wait.
No.
No way.
This was a dream.
I had dozed off by the tampon aisle and I was having a fever dream.
“Excellent Jungkook-ah. Boys, say hello to my girlfriend, Shinhye.” Yoongi said casually.
I jumped, trying to get away but his arm came right around my shoulder, forearm resting on the swell of my breasts as he held me closely.
“ Your- your what?”
“Girlfriend. I haven’t met a girl this intriguing in a while and well, you’re quite easy on the eyes too…”
“I… I’m not… No.. Please…” I couldn’t quite form a coherent thought.
“Oh, petal , I’m sorry. I’m afraid I can’t accept that no. I’m going to pick you up for dinner tomorrow night at …well wherever you live. Our first date so wear something pretty yeah?” he nuzzled my neck.
Actually nuzzled it.
What the actual fuck.
“You’re insane. I’m not dating you!” I said shrilly.
“Eight O clock.” He hummed, still pressed right up against my back. The warmth of his body was ridiculously comforting in the chill night air.
Then before I could process what he was doing, one hand came up to curl over my chin in a gently grip, tilting my face back so I was looking up into his beautiful face.
“Don’t make me wait, petal.” He said softly, before reaching down and closing his lips over mine.
It was a soft kiss , over before I could even process it.
“You said you’re dangerous right baby? I’m dangerous too. Maybe together we can be absolutely terrifying , yeah?” he was laughing now.
And i wasn't.
Infact,
I was going to pass the fuck out.

Batfam as Borrowers
Because I'm always down to combine my favorite pieces of fiction with the concept of borrowers 😌 This'll just be a mess of ideas so... buckle up lol
Borrower!Bruce, like his canon counterpart, lost his parents at a young age.
There's no shortage of danger when you're only inches tall, and I kinda sway towards their death having something to do with a human. Not a deliberate act, but something unintentional and mundane, like rearranging furniture. The human doesn't even know such tiny people exist, let alone that they're in just the right spot to be crushed.
Bruce is traumatized, and left with an even greater fear of humans than his kind already has. Seeing the damage they can cause, even unintentionally, sticks with him.
Borrower!Alfred is here, too, 'cause I said so. He's been something of a neighbor, living in a different section of the house but visiting frequently. He takes Bruce under his wing after Thomas and Martha's death, and teaches him how to borrow.
The thing is, I want Bruce to be a loner for a while... we're certainly not gonna kill off Alfred, so let's just say they get separated. That's sad enough already, though it does leave a glimmer of hope that they'll see each other again.
Now alone, Bruce doesn't like to stay in one place for too long. When it comes to making a secret space for himself inside a wall/under a floorboard, it's a hideout, not a home. With his frequent moves, meeting other borrowers isn't too uncommon. He usually keeps interactions to a minimum, just giving or receiving basic info about the house and its humans.
But things change when he meets Dick. The young borrower is alone, and hurting in a way Bruce finds all too familiar. There's no way he can leave him.
The next time he goes in search of a new hideout, Dick comes along. Bruce tells himself that eventually, he'll find someone better-suited to take care of the kid. But every time they cross paths with another borrower, that initial feeling persists... he can't leave him.
He can't leave the next one either. Or the next. Or the... well, it's not like he went looking for all these kids.
I just love the idea of Tiny Tired Dad Bruce ❤️ And I'm very open to hearing thoughts about the various batkids as borrowers, because I don't claim to have in depth knowledge. Of course, there's a lot of freedom with this AU, but it's nice to integrate things from canon!
Off the top of my head, I like the idea that Dick is still something of an acrobat. For whatever reason, it's how his parents taught him to move about, and he is constantly climbing things or jumping around in such needlessly dangerous ways. Bruce gains several gray hairs just watching him.
For Jason, maybe they meet him when he tries to steal food from their stash? It's nothing malicious, just desperation from a kid who barely knows how to take from humans.
Cass is just... the Best Borrower. All of them are baffled by how well she can evade detection even in the most high-pressure, human-is-literally-one-move-from-seeing-you situations.
I realize that not every batfam member has a child/parent dynamic with Bruce, and I don't wanna change that, but it does complicate things. Like... am I gonna kill off Jim just so I can include Barbara??
Maybe 😏
sjsjdndkfgj NO. But we need the lonliness, we need the Angst. So at the very least, they've all been separated like Bruce and Alfred, and may see their loved ones again. Or you can imagine death, if you want that extra shot of pain lol
For Barbara, all I know for sure is I don't want to erase her disability. It'd be cool to see her design and create her own tools for mobility in a uniquely borrower way.
Also... Damian. Is borrower!Brutalia a thing?? Or is he adopted in this 'verse?
Either way, Damian is absolutely that borrower who carries a sewing needle/pin/whatever tiny sharp weapon is available. He is ready to stab.
Admittedly, I'm running out of steam, and my brain has yet to conjure anything specific about Duke, Steph, or Tim 😔
But no matter the specifics, or how the character dynamics exist in this world, they're undoubtedly a family. A dysfunctional, ever-growing family that Bruce does his best to lead. Sometimes he fucks up, of course, but he's fiercely protective, and all of them know that their safety is his top priority.
As the family grows, the moving becomes less frequent. It's difficult enough getting everyone to agree on finding a new place, nevermind the nightmare of packing. Plus, Bruce is pretty sure the kids are trying to wear him down.
So when they make what is likely to be their final move, they decide it ought to be a big one. In fact, they end up all the way over in Metropolis 👀
I'm gonna write a follow-up to this post some other other time, and we can talk about Clark's role in all this!
(also don't ask me how a bunch of teeny people can logically travel that far... just know my brain is rotating scenes from Mouse Movies like The Rescuers or American Tail where mice stow away on human transportation 😂)

mesh’la kaab- beautiful sound
A giggle rings out throughout the Razor Crest, pinging off the walls and making its way into the cockpit.
There was a lot of other noise going on down there, Mando could tell, but it’s your laugh that makes his face warm under his helmet. He listens more carefully, trying to tell exactly what’s going on.
What was going on, exactly, was chaos. Mando’s little green son had gotten hold of your ukulele and was deciding to mimic his mama, you. You often sang and played the ukulele around the ship, bringing music and light into the cold, metallic space. It was part of what Mando loved most about you, what brought him comfort when you thought he couldn’t hear you.
Mando had brought you on board a few months ago, and your soft and warming nature caused him to let his guard down almost immediately. He’d never been a touchy man, never one to cuddle or give keldabe kisses, but you stole his heart the moment he saw your smile.
Over time, your relationship with Mando had warmed. He’d press his hand to the small of your back as he walked past, let his ungloved fingertips brush over your hands. You were soft and kind and all he wanted.
He gave in a few weeks into your stay. He told you he cared for you, that he liked you, and a relationship had blossomed. He’d wrap his arms around you when he returned from a job, pressing his forehead to yours. He’d turn off all of the lights in the ship and press soft kisses to your lips and forehead and the tip of your nose. He’d sleep in your bunk with you and the child, pulling you to his chest and murmuring how much you meant to him. Helmetless, shirtless. Human again.
You’d learned his name late one night, his lips next to your ear- Din. It was one simple syllable, soft yet strong, a beautiful sound when his raspy voice was unmodulated. The child cooed, waking from his slumber, crawling between the two of you and nestling in. “That’s right, baby boy. Your daddy’s name is Din,” you’d hummed, pressing a soft kiss to the baby’s head and stroking his large green ears. The three of you were family now.
Din was a romantic at heart, bringing you gifts from missions and holding you gently as he traces his fingertips across your collarbones and neck while you slept. One thing he didn’t have, you had come to realize, was a sense of humor- at least, not one you understood. It was there, you supposed, but dry. Sarcastic quips. Words with double-meanings. A joke that had to be explained after he said it. You were happy, he knew that, but you rarely laughed.
That’s part of what transfixes him as he hears your giggle for the first time. It’s not a hard, tear-wrenching, gut-bursting laugh, but it’s a beautiful sound. Just as melodic as your beautiful voice when you sing along with your ukulele.
Din climbs down from the cockpit. You can’t see his face but his body is relaxed- he’s happy. You look up at him with a grin. “Your son thinks he wants to be a musician,” you tease, holding the ukulele above your head, sitting cross-legged on an old cape of his.
The baby is trying to climb up on you, little green hands grabbing at your shirt in an attempt to reach the ukulele again. It makes Din’s heart warm, the way the son he had come to love is playing with the woman who makes his heart soar. “Really?” He asks, sitting down across from you and tilting his head.
“Really. And I must say, he’s not a very good one,” you tease the child, setting the ukulele down next to you and scooping your baby up in your arms. You press a soft kiss to his head and squeeze him against your chest. “You’re lucky you’re cute.”
“Maybe the two of you would perform for me. I’ve been told I’m a good judge of talent,” he offers in that tone where you can tell he’s teasing, but it’s with all of the love in his heart.
You look down at the baby and raise an eyebrow. “Well, baby boy? Should we show your daddy how wonderful you are?” you ask with excitement in your tone. The baby coos excitedly and nods. He’s starting to pick up on the human mannerisms that you and his father display. “Okay, let’s show him.” You set the ukulele in your lap, one hand on the fretboard. You set the child in front of you. “I’ll do the part up here, you play with the strings and sing for him, okay?” You instruct the baby, who giggles excitedly.
You look up at Din with a smile, and you can tell he’s smiling back. “Go for it, ad’ika,” Din tells the child.
His son agrees. He randomly plucks at the strings and squeals loudly. It’s utter cacophony, the farthest thing from music, but the little green baby seems to think it’s a masterpiece. He coos and shouts, little hands grabbing at the strings with no particular rhyme or reason.
You giggle but play around with the frets, letting the child choose his strings. He ends his song with a final shriek and you bite your lip to hold back from bursting into honest-to-god laughter. “Good job, bean!” You coo happily, clapping your hands.
Din claps too, leather-covered hands muffling the noise. “You’re a fantastic musician, kid,” he tells the little green child, who runs and jumps into his father’s lap, cuddling against his chest. “You have a beautiful laugh,” he tells you honestly, looking up at you and stroking the kid’s head.
You shake your head and look down at the ukulele, playing a few chords that come to mind. “That’s not my real laugh,” you admit, staring down at the instrument. “My laugh is really ugly. It sounds like a blurrg in labor.”
Din shakes his head, chuckling softly at the comparison. “I can’t possibly think you’d have an ugly laugh, ner mesh’la,” he tells you, resting a hand on your knee.
“Oh, it is. And you don’t wanna hear it,” you inform him, looking up at him.
“There’s not a thing about you that could be ugly,” he tells you, his voice sincere and solid. “I want to hear your laugh.”
“Then you’ll have to be funny for once, Din,” you tease, a small smile growing on your face. You stand, pressing a kiss to the top of his helmet and moving away to put your ukulele back in its case.
That’s the moment Din decides he’s going to make you laugh, in a way that you can’t possibly hold back. It’s a mission.
-
Later that night, you cook dinner for your little family. It’s makeshift at best, a tiny portable flame that you had found in a junk shop on Nevarro, but you have to admit it’s charming. You sauté some vegetables, native from your current planet, that you picked up today. The smell wafts to the cockpit, where Din is fiddling with an electrical wiring problem. He can’t smell it, not with the helmet, but the child can.
The baby coos at his father and tugs on his pant leg, gesturing towards the ladder. He wants to get down. “What is it, ad’ika?” He asks gruffly, nodding once he sees where the child points.
Din climbs down the ladder with the baby in tow, smiling as he sees you lost in your own little world.
You’re surprisingly good with electronics, Din discovered after he took you on board, and you’d found that the Razor Crest has a stereo system. It had become your pet project, and now some music was drifting through the hull of the ship. He stands there for a second and smiles at the way you dance around and cook the food, the pan sizzling. It’s a beautiful sight.
This is the perfect moment, Din thinks. Someone as caring and unguarded as you must be ticklish. Setting down the child and making a gesture for him to be quiet, Din quietly creeps behind you. He has no armor on except his helmet now, allowing him to be stealthy.
He creeps up behind you, fingers wiggling along your sides. Nothing happens except you squealing in surprise and whipping around in his arms. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” You exclaim as you look up at him with wide eyes.
“Just, uh… wanted to see if you were ticklish,” he admits, wrapping his arms around you fully now.
“Well, I’m not,” you roll your eyes, tossing your arms around his neck and looking up at him.
“You’re trying to hear my witch’s cackle, aren’t you?” You ask teasingly, smiling contently at the man holding you.
He shrugs lightly. “Maybe.”
“Din,” you coo and press a kiss to his cold beskar cheek. “Well, I’m almost done cooking. You might as well stay down here,” you tell him and start swaying him along to the music playing. It’s nice; he dances along with you. “You can come out, green bean,” you call to the child.
The child squeals as he jumps out from around a corner, and you mock surprise, jumping. “Oh my Maker, you almost gave me a heart attack,” you cry out to the child, who giggles excitedly. “C’mere, baby,” you laugh and pick him up, holding him between you and Din as you sway along to the music. “You and your daddy are a handful,” you coo to him and press a kiss to the baby’s head.
“I’m going to get it out of you,” Din declares.
“Sure you are, Djarin,” you roll your eyes and smile softly, pressing your forehead to his in a keldabe kiss. “You know I’m happy here, right? I really couldn’t be any happier. I have you and the kid and I get to travel the galaxy with my two favorite boys.”
He nods. “Of course I do. It’s just… happy people laugh more.”
“I laugh plenty. When you tell me a bad joke, when the kid does something stupid.”
“You giggle or you chuckle. You never laugh.
“Neither do you.”
Din thinks on it for a second. “I suppose that’s true,” he nods in acknowledgment.
“Then you don’t need to make it such a mission, ner verd,” you tease, a loving smile on your face. You break away, keeping the child in your arms as you walk back to the vegetables. “Looks like the food is ready.”
-
It doesn’t come the way he wants it to, but Din finally makes you laugh.
Two days later, you’re dancing around with the baby in the hull of the ship, singing to the child’s favorite song. He squeals along, waving his little hands in the air and spinning in circles. “Din, come down here,” you call out happily.
“Little busy,” a gruff voice shouts back from the cockpit.
“Din Djarin, you get your tin-can head down here!”
“Later, ner kar’ta.”
You pout and pick up the baby, heading off to the refresher with the child. You suppose it’s time for a bath for the green bean anyway. You change the song and hum along, undressing the child from his tiny brown robes and filling the sink with warm water. You drizzle some of your shampoo into the water, making the top fill with bubbles.
The child giggles excitedly as you place a rubber ewok in the water. “I know! Isn’t it exciting?” You coo to him, nuzzling your face into his fuzzy little green head. “Oh, you’re going to smell so nice for your buir. Even if he can’t smell you with that tin can on his head. When we cuddle tonight, he’ll just want to eat you up,” you tease, your nose scrunching with a smile.
When the sink is properly filled, you place the child in it. It’s deep enough to reach just below his armpits, and he splashes around tranquilly. “I know, isn’t it fun?” you laugh softly, scrubbing him down with a bright green sponge in the shape of a frog.
Getting the baby’s head wet is a challenge. He doesn’t like the feeling, so you know you have to get creative. You grab the little rubber ewok and hold it up. “You want it?” You ask, and he nods. You drag it around beneath the water and he tries to grab it, dunking his head under. Perfect. He takes it from your hand and pops back up giggling. “Good job, squirt!” you coo and rub his head with the sponge.
You dry him with a fluffy towel when you’re done and redress him in a new set of clothing, smiling. “You’re such a cutie,” you murmur and press a kiss to his head. “I love you, you know that?”
And somehow, you know he knows. He can tell, and you can tell he loves you too.
My mama, my protector, she plays with me and feeds me and snuggles with me. Love. Love love love my mama and my buir. Buir is shiny and quiet but he loves me and sneaks me snacks after bedtime when mama’s sleeping and boops me on the nose and wraps me up in his cape when it’s cold.
You’re taken aback by the sensation before Din descends down the ladder from the cockpit. He walks over to the two of you, giving you a keldabe kiss before heading to the ‘fresher. Clearing your throat, you clear the thought from your mind. You must’ve imagined it. “Well, let’s get ready for bed,” you tell the child. The water runs in the ‘fresher- Din must be showering. You change into a pair of comfortable clothes then turn off the lights and get into the bunk with the child.
“Are the lights off?” He calls.
“Yes, love,” you shout back. Din emerges from the refresher and snuggles into bed with you and your son. His hair is damp and his face is clean-shaven, you can feel both when you reach for him as the bed dips with his weight. “Hi there,” you smile and press a soft kiss to his lips.
“Hi,” he chuckles and kisses you a little deeper for a moment. Your hand drifts to his side- he’s shirtless, leaving him only in pants- and his finds your chest, pressing a hand over your heart. The moment is disrupted as one three-fingered hand finds each of your faces and pushes you apart. “Hello, ad’ika,” Din laughs, grabbing the child and snuggling him between the two of you. He presses a soft kiss to the baby’s head, you can hear it, and breathes in deeply. “Mm, your mama gave you a bath.”
“Sure did,” you chuckle. You know Din loves the smell of your shampoo; it reminds him of when you first showered in the Crest, and his helmet was off when he went to the ‘fresher next and it smelled clean and soft and feminine and beautiful.
“Maybe your mama will have to give me a bath sometime,” he murmurs as he kisses your face.
It’s the single most ridiculous thing you’ve ever heard the man say. Before you can help yourself, a genuine laugh bursts forth from your throat. It’s loud and obnoxious, making you wiggle and wheeze and even snort. It’s a cackle, almost, but it’s the most beautiful noise Din Djarin has ever heard. He starts laughing along too, burying his face in your chest, chest heaving. Even the child joins in on the giggles, even though he doesn’t know why.
The three of you lie like that for a minute, wheezing hard and breathing heavily. The laughter ends and you find yourself catching your breath, Din’s face still buried in your chest. His nose nudges between your breasts and you stroke the back of his head, giving a soft giggle. You feel yourself flood with the warmth of embarrassment as you realize you just let loose such an ugly sound. “Din-”
“Don’t even try to apologize, ner mesh’la,” he chuckles, pressing a kiss over your breast, where your heart lies. “That was the most beautiful noise I’ve ever heard.”
“No it’s not.”
“Yes it is,” he murmurs, pressing a kiss to your collarbone. “It’s you being happy, the sound of me making you smile. What could be better than that?” He asks before capturing your lips in a slow kiss. “I’m never going a day without making you laugh again.”

Conflicts (Just Friends Part 6) - Cillian Murphy Imagine
Featuring: Cillian Murphy x Reader
Warning: SMUT
Words: 3518
Driving Home
The next morning it was time for you to make your way back home to Dublin. You had another few days of annual leave but your grandmother was scheduled to drop Max off at your house the following morning after his trip with her to Galway.
Whilst you enjoyed your time alone with Cillian, you did miss your son Max terribly and couldn’t wait to see him.
Cillian had been rather quiet since last night, ever since he made the phone call, and you were somewhat concerned.
He didn’t want to talk about it and you thought it to be appropriate to give him some space. Surely, he would come around once he was ready.
During the car drive you talked about the boys and school and things you had planned for the upcoming week but Cillian’s mood seemed somewhat low.
‘Are you sure that you are ok?’ you asked.
‘Yes, my mind has just been somewhere else. Sorry’ he responded.
‘And where has it been?’ you asked.
‘Work’ Cillian said.
‘Alright’ you said. You could tell that he really didn’t want to talk about it.
‘Filming starts again in six weeks and I’ll be gone for a while’ Cillian said as he placed his hand onto yours.
‘For how long?’ you asked.
‘4 months, but I’ll come back to Dublin for a week in between’ Cillian said. ‘And maybe you can visit me?’ Cillian asked.
‘I would love to visit you, if you want me to’ you said.
‘Of course, I do’ Cillian said with a smile on his face.
As you were still driving back to Dublin, Cillian received another two phone calls from someone called Sarah. He didn’t answer but rather sighed with annoyance when he saw the call come up on the dashboard of his car.
‘You can answer it if you like’ you said, curious about who Sarah was.
‘I rather not’ Cillian sighed.
‘Alright then’ you said, an awkward silence erupting between you and Cillian which lasted until the moment Cillian pulled up in front of your house.
Just as the car stopped, you collected your thoughts. You really didn’t want to have your first possibly about nothing.
‘Thank you for the amazing weekend’ you said before kissing Cillian gently.
‘I love you’ he said in response, caressing your face.
‘I love you too. Will I see you tonight?’ you asked.
‘Of course, I will be around at 6’ Cillian said before giving you another kiss and driving off.
Who is Sarah?
After you unpacked your clothes and had some time to do some household chores, the doorbell rang.
You almost forgot that you had a coffee date with your and Cillian’s mutual friend Leah that afternoon.
As you opened the door it was pouring rain again and Leah was rather soaked. You offered her some dry clothes of yourself, which she gladly accepted, and boiled the kettle for some tea.
After Leah had time to get changed into your clothes, you both sat down at the kitchen table.
‘So, how was your time with Cillian?’ Leah asked. ‘You know, I really didn’t expect you two to get involved with each other’ she added.
‘Why is that?’ you said as you sipped on your tea.
‘I don’t know, I just didn’t see it coming. You make a cute couple though’ Leah said.
‘I suppose’ you said, looking down on your cup.
‘You suppose? Did you guys have a fight or something?’ Leah asked.
‘No, it’s just…’ you said before discontinuing your sentence.
‘It’s just what?’ Leah asked.
‘He received a few phone calls last night and this morning and he’s been really quiet since. I suppose I am just a bit worried’ you explained.
‘Phone calls from whom?’ Leah asked.
‘Someone called Sarah’ you said, causing Leah to choke on her biscuit.
‘I am not surprised then. Sarah is his ex’ Leah explained.
‘I thought his ex-wife’s name is Natalie?’ you asked surprised as you recalled having met her once at a BBQ when she dropped off the boys. She had remarried and was there with her new husband.
‘Not his ex-wife, his ex-girlfriend. They broke up five months ago but they still work together on Peaky Blinders, which might be a bit of an issue’ Leah explained.
‘Right’ you said with worry, remembering what Cillian had told you in the car. He was going back to filming in 6 weeks.
‘You honestly don’t need to worry about her Y/N. It was Cillian who ended it. Although I don’t know why he would even bother picking up her calls’ Leah explained.
‘I suppose my self esteem has taken a bit of a hit since these comments on Twitter so I worry about stupid things’ you said.
‘I think you need to stay of social media Y/N’ Leah said before changing the topic to a more pleasurable conversation.
Leah had recently found out that she was pregnant and was excited to add to her family with a third child.
After talking about kids, setting up nurseries and so forth, Leah asked you whether you had discussed this topic with Cillian.
‘Jesus, we’ve only just started dating. Despite, we have three kids between the two of us, that’s plenty’ you laughed, causing Leah to laugh as well.
After Leah went on to discuss schooling for her eldest son, you recalled that you did, in fact, have this conversation with Cillian but before you were dating.
You remembered him telling you that he was done with having children. He did not want any more but rather wanted to concentrate on bringing up the boys in the best possible way.
You also recalled him mentioning to you that this was a cause of conflict between him and his ex-girlfriend and you began to wonder whether this had anything to do with their breakup.
Trying not to ponder on about this too much, you caught up on the conversation you had with Leah about schooling.
You couldn’t even put your mind at the possibility of Max attending school any time soon but the truth was that it was only a year away.
After two hours had passed, you had to say goodbye to your friend Leah. After all, you had a date with your boyfriend that evening.
Date Night
Your plan was to cook for him and surprise him wearing some nice lingerie.
You weren’t really a good cook but decided to give it a crack anyway and make lasagne.
After you prepared the lasagne and put it in the oven, you had a shower, put on some make up and done up your hair.
You put on black lace lingerie with stunning satin stockings which were affixed to your waist.
Just as you finished the final touches, the doorbell rang.
‘Hi babe’ you said as you opened the door.
‘Fuck’ Cillian said in response, gazing over you in your black lingerie.
‘Hey, this is no way to speak to a lady’ you said, pulling him in for a kiss.
‘You look incredibly sexy in this’ Cillian said with wide eyes.
‘I know’ you smirked. ‘Common in before the neighbours see me like this’ you added.
‘Something smells…’ Cillian said as he walked inside and, as soon as he said this, you remembered the lasagne.
‘Burnt’ he added as he watched you race to the stove.
‘Goddammit’ you yelled as you opened the stove and took out the burnt lasagne in your sexy lace lingerie.
‘I wanted this to be perfect’ you said frustrated and upset, some tears running down your face, while Cillian looked around and saw that you had lid some candles and put on some slow jazz music.
‘Just being with you is perfect in itself’ Cillian said as he lifted up your chin with his thumb, gazing into your eyes before kissing you.
‘You are sweet Cillian’ you said, sinking into his arms.
‘Now do you want to tell me what’s really wrong, because you aren’t the type of woman who gets upset about some burnt lasagne’ Cillian asked as you walked over to the lounge and sat down.
‘The phone calls…You were so quiet after them and I know that it was your ex who rang. I couldn’t help but worry about whether you still have feelings for her. I mean, why did you even call her back?’ you said.
‘I can assure you that I don’t have feelings for her Y/N. In fact, I broke up with her because I didn’t love her and I felt as though I was wasting her time. She wanted children and marriage, none of which I was prepared to give her, so what’s the point?’ Cillian said.
‘So why didn’t you tell me?’ you asked.
‘Because I still have to work with her and because I fucked up, a few months ago. Even though this all happened before you and me got together, I had to think of a way to talk with you about this’ Cillian said.
‘You fucked up in which way?’ you asked.
‘We slept with each other. We both had too much to drink and it was a mistake’ Cillian said.
‘Cillian, Jesus’ you said annoyed.
‘She wanted to give it another try and I told her that I wasn’t ready for another relationship and, well, then I fell in love with you which doesn’t look very good now does it? So, I called her back that evening because I thought that I owe her at least an explanation’ Cillian said.
‘I love you Y/N. I never planned to fall in love with you, but I did’ he added.
‘Well, I can’t really be upset about a woman you’ve been with before me. But I don’t like the fact that you will be working with her again soon’ you said.
‘Neither do I, trust me’ Cillian said.
‘When you film, do you have any intimate scenes with her?’ you asked concerned.
‘One I think’ Cillian responded, causing your heart to drop and tears building up in your eyes again.
‘It doesn’t mean anything Y/N. It’s just acting’ Cillian said as he cupped your face.
‘It does to her’ you said.
‘But it doesn’t to me. I love you, not her, alright?’ Cillian said, causing you to nod.
‘In fact, I fell in love with you after our first night together, although I didn’t want to admit it to myself’ he added.
‘So did I’ you said before climbing across Cillian’s lap, facing him and pressing your lips onto his.
As you were exchanging passionate kisses, you rocked back and forward on top of him and began running your hands over your breasts suggestively.
‘This is very nice lingerie’ Cillian said as he couldn’t keep his eyes of your breasts.
‘Perhaps I should visit you on set one day, wearing this beneath my clothes and let Thomas Shelby have his way with me?’ you smirked jokingly, causing Cillian to laugh.
You had only recently began to watch Peaky Blinders and could certainly understand the fascination other women had with Tommy Shelby.
‘That could be arranged’ Cillian said as, suddenly, you found yourself beneath Cillian on the sofa.
Within seconds, his t-shirt fell to the floor, shortly followed by his jeans, leaving him in nothing but his black Calvin Klein briefs.
‘Should we take this to the bedroom?’ Cillian asked between gentle kisses while he was running his hands over your breasts.
‘No’ you said as you pushed backwards a little, making him sit up.
‘Watch’ you said just as you stood up in front of him, beginning to touch your breasts and then slipping your hand into your panties.
Cillian’s eyes were on you, full of excitement, while his erection pushed against his briefs.
You seductively removed your bra and began playing with your nipples.
You could see in Cillian’s face that he wanted to touch you badly. He was desperate to feel your skin.
Just as reached his hand out towards you, you grabbed a pillow from the lounge and threw onto the floor in front of him.
Without words, you kneeled in front of him, right in between his legs. Your fingers hooked into the waistband of his briefs, pulling them down and exposing his hard cock.
No time was wasted until you lowered your head and, while your hand held onto his thick shaft, your tongue licked the precum from the tip of his cock.
‘Fuck’ Cillian moaned as your mobile tongue slid over the length of his cock front and back before returning to the very tip, feeling him cringe and hearing him moan.
Your lips closed over the head of his cook and you began to slide your mouth up and down the smooth, sweet tasting skin of his shaft, loving the flavour of his pre-cum.
Meanwhile your tongue continued to swirl across his sensitive head and your hand pumped him while the other gripped his ass cheek, holding him in position.
Cillian gasped and moaned as he could feel every inch of your tongue lapping his head.
After about 10 minutes, it became more difficult for Cillian to hold back and he tried to look at the ceiling rather than you.
Another 5 minutes and this strategy was no longer working either.
‘Fuck Y/N, you need to stop’ Cillian said.
Giving him your most slutty look and not breaking eye contact, you slid your lips slowly down his length and back up, moaning around his thickness.
‘I want you to come in my mouth’ you said eagerly in between your movements. Up and down, making the most exquisite noises.
‘Oh God!’ Cillian cried, throwing back his head.
Shortly thereafter, you saw his knuckles go white with how hard he gripped to the blanket covering the lounge beneath him. Then, in what seemed like slow motion, you felt him spasm and the creeping approach of his cum up his cock.
With one loud moan, he filled your mouth with his sweet cum, the first bit of which almost instantly hit the back of your throat.
There was a fair bit more than you had expected but you managed not to spill a single drop.
‘Fuck’ Cillian shuttered as he came down from his high while starring at you, licking your lips seductively.
After you took a sip of your wine, you joined him back on the lounge, exchanging a passionate kiss.
‘Lie down’ Cillian whispered just as your lips drifted apart and he gently pushed your back into the lounge before taking his position in between your legs.
He pulled your lace panties down gently and placed your legs over his shoulders.
Cillian’s eyes were fixed on the junction between your thighs as he slid his head back down in between them.
As you felt his hot breath on your already wet entrance you couldn’t help it but moan.
His hands brushed over the lace tops of your stockings then the soft milky skin of your inner thighs just before you could feel his wet tongue run over your slit gently.
‘Cillian, oh god’ you moaned as his tongue entered you slightly while he pushed your thighs back tilting your bum towards him.
His tongue dipped in and out of you before it made its way to your already engorged clit, drawing circles over it.
For a moment you couldn’t help but arch your back and push against him, but Cillian pushed you back down almost instantly before slipping two of his fingers inside of you.
You let out what sounded like squirrel as his fingers arched upwards and hit your g-spot. He was the first man to have found this spot and you struggled with the intensity of the feeling when he stimulated it.
‘Just relax and let go’ Cillian instructed as he knew that, every time he reaches your sweet spot, you tense up.
You took a deep breath and let yourself get lost in the moment. His fingers thrusted in and out of you, continuously hitting this sweet spot of you, while his tongue continued to circle your clit.
You gasped loudly while you held onto the lounge and your body began to shudder beneath Cillian’s lips.
‘Oh god yes’ you moaned as your orgasm washed over you.
Cillian slowed down his movements to let you come down from your high, his lips covered in your sweet juices.
‘You are so damn good at this’ you giggled as he climbed up and in between your legs.
‘So are you’ Cillian smirked before positioned himself in between your legs.
You couldn’t believe that he was already hard again as you felt the smooth head of this cock press open your labia and lodge in the opening.
You wrapped your arms and legs around him as he began sliding his hardness into you until it was seated deeply inside.
‘Oh god’ you moaned, loving the feeling of him inside of you.
He allowed you to adjust for a moment before beginning to thrust into you gently.
As he was moving in and out of you at a reasonable he speed, he held you tight, pressing his body against yours while kissing you gently.
You felt suspended in this moment. Every cell of your body felt everything with every thrust and every kiss.
Slowly all the tingling pleasure began to gather together and concentrate in your core, moving down to center where your were so intimately connected.
You gasped and trembled as the intensity began to overwhelm your. Your hands clenched and tried to pull him even closer, trying to fit yourself into his skin.
‘Cillian, oh god’ you panted as your walls tightened and your orgasm engulfed.
Moving in sync with you, Cillian wasn’t far behind you and the tightening of your walls around him sent him over the edge.
Panting equally loudly he filled you with his warm cum.
After you both came down from your highs, you curled up with each other on the lounge, pulling the blanket on top of you.
After more gentle kisses and some talking about the situation with Sarah, Cillian ordered some take away and you watched a movie together before heading to the bedroom for some more intimacy and to catch up on your sleep.
Meeting Grandma (Again)
The next morning, you heard the door open at 7am. Your grandmother had a key and was dropping Max back from their trip.
‘Hi Nan’ you said as you walked out of the bedroom, wearing a t-shirt and some cotton underwear.
‘Hi darling’ she said, giving you a hug just as Max came out of the bathroom.
‘Mum, I was busting. I thought I was going to pee in nanna’s car’ he said causing you to laugh before giving him a big hug.
Just as Max disappeared into his room to unpack his bag and you sat down with your grandmother in the kitchen, Cillian walked in wearing nothing but his boxers.
‘Oh, uhm, hi’ Cillian said, his face flushing and your eyes widening.
‘Oh hello again Mr Murphy’ your grandmother said with a big grin as she looked up and down on him as if she was assessing him.
‘Excuse me, I will be right back’ he said slightly embarrassed, picking up his clothes from the living room floor on the way back to the bedroom and pushing your lace panties and bra under the lounge discreetly in the hope that your grandmother wouldn’t notice.
You certainly didn’t expect her to arrive so early.
‘So…’ you said, your face flushed, lost for words until your grandmother began to laugh.
‘Now, this just made my day sweetheart. Wait until I tell Erna, she will not believe it’ your grandmother giggled.
‘Nan! Please!’ you said with some embarrassment.
‘Oh darling, I am just kidding. I won’t tell Erna of course. But who doesn’t enjoy a bit of eye candy now and then, right?’ your grandmother said, making you flush even more.
‘Jesus, nan’ you laughed as Cillian came out of the bedroom, now wearing a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.
There was an awkward silence between you, Cillian and your grandmother as Cillian sat down at the table with you.
‘So, when is the next season of Peaky Blinders coming out?’ your grandmother asked to break the ice.
‘Not sure, but we start filming again in six weeks’ Cillian said.
‘So, you will be gone for quite a while I would assume?’ your grandmother asked concerned.
‘Four months. Although, I am hoping for Y/N to come and visit me in between’ Cillian explained.
‘You should be able to arrange that darling, right? And, while you are there, you and Cillian can visit your parents. Maybe they could even look after Max for a change and you can have a date night’ your grandmother said.
‘Your parents live in Birmingham?’ Cillian asked, causing you to nod with a sigh.
‘Yes, about 20 minutes outside Birmingham’ you responded.
To be continued….
