Could you be able to do a headcanon of a video game night with the 141, I keep thinking about that headcanon in the third part of the ghost headcanon
Game Night Headcanons (Task Force 141 + afab!Reader)
note: König and Horangi appear, no use of (Y/N)
a/n: hey hey, this was really fun to write and there might be a second part to this. also this is a little shorter than normal, sorry about that. anyways, thank you all so much for reading!

The typical 141 game night, more often than not, leads to a fist fight at some point
As well as name calling, accusations, threats and sometimes, crying. Last part is done by Crash most times
It wasn’t like this before. Game night was more relaxed. There was usually multiple systems and even board games going at once
That is until Soap suggested Mario Kart. He was whining on about how he wanted the group to play together, even for one round
You and the others give into his insistent whining. However, Price used his ‘old man’ card to get out of playing and agreed to watch from the sidelines.
It took a while to convince Ghost to join, Soap literally begging on his hands and knees. But it was you that ultimately got him to play, by taunting him. There is still a rivalry going on between you two though it’s become friendly in recent times.
Your taunting worked, calling him an old man to his face and that he’s probably embarrassed to play because it’s the one thing he’s bad at. The thing that pissed him off most was you told him that he’s a ‘has-been’
He stares at you as you give him a smug grin back. Ghost opens his hand towards Soap, not breaking eye contact with you, he says one word, “Controller.” Johnny lets out a little “whoo!” and places a switch controller onto his hand
Ghost would either main Shy Guy, Dry Bones or Dry Bowser for obvious reasons
Soap plays Bowser or Bowser Jr. He mentions something about having a similar hairstyle as them. (Bonus points if he’s matching with Ghost)
Gaz plays as Toad because the little screams Toad makes is low key funny
Crash usually plays as Isabelle but whenever Ghost joins, she switches to King Boo
First game, Crash wins with Ghost coming close at second place. Lowkey, Crash got real nervous during the last lap since Ghost was in the lead but with the magic called button smashing, she kept blue-shelling him.
Second game, Ghost absolutely demolished everyone, paying close attention to you.
You, being a sore loser, calls him out for cheating and demand a rematch
To everyone’s surprise, he does. And round after round, he beats everyone
Gaz was speechless, Soap looks at the Lieutenant with awe and it took everything in you to not bitch slap Ghost
The little argument becomes a little bit too intense which turns into a yelling match
Crash : “Bitch do you want me to jump across this table because I DON'T HAVE ALL DAY FOR THIS, OKAY?!” Ghost, with a shit eating grin under his mask : “You feeling froggy? Leap.” Crash, rolling up her sleeves : “Okay, well here I come."
Price, who was napping on the lazy chair while they played, woke up to a scuffle. Lifting up his hat, he takes in the scene in front of him:
You were very animated, talking with your hands as you argue with the Lieutenant. Ghost has his hands on his hips, back straightened as he looks down at you.
Soap was in-between you and Ghost, hand on the latter's chest and the other on your shoulder, keeping distance from each other. He looked a little nervous, being literally in the middle of Ghost and essentially, a mini Ghost. "Hey, let's talk this out first, no need for fightin'!"
Gaz had a hand on your other shoulder, trying to pull you away. He would lift you up, and he can, but he doesn't want to get his ass beat by someone who's five foot four
Price, after watching them for a couple minutes, finally steps in.
Had to use the 'dad voice' on everyone
That weeks game night ends there
The next one though, basically the same thing happens. Only difference is that you guys were playing Super Smash Bros.
Ghost would either play Dark Samus, Sheik, Cloud or Snake
Soap plays Bowser, Roy or Ryu
Gaz usually plays as Lucario or Ness, but sometimes switches to Marth
Crash mains Kirby, however she does have a soft spot for all of the cute game mascots (especially Pikachu)
Same thing happens, Ghost beats everyone and you start an argument because "No one his age knows how to play."
"For God's sake, Crash, I'm twenty-nine!" "Pretty fuckin' old to me." "We're six years apart, Tiny."
You low key hated that nickname. It was a reminder to you that everyone else was six foot and taller.
With no hesitation, you jump towards him
Thankfully, this time Price is awake and grabs you just in time
He holds you back as you shout "These hands are rated E for Everyone"
After that, game night was cancelled for a while, for oblivious reasons
That is until the KorTac team joins them. Game night is brought back since it's good for 'team bonding'
It's mostly König and Horangi that hangs out with them, with Hutch occasionally coming by
All of them are really good at Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros.
It was kind of embarrassing for the 141 to get beat against the new guys
Everyone was nice at first but as game nights continue, König lets out a snide comment
"Thought you guys are the best of the best. Guess you're not good at everything."
As much as you liked König, you were not gonna let that slide. Same with Ghost
Both of you form a truce and team up together
As you were on the field, both of you are a deadly combination
Unsurprisingly, you win. But learning from previous mistakes, you behave yourself.
König and Horangi lose gracefully, telling you "GG" and even apologizing for the comment he made earlier
Price gives a sigh of relief, not wanting to break up a fight, especially since one of them is almost seven feet tall
Other games the team plays:
Halo (specifically the first three). Ghost doesn't say but he low key relates to Master Chief. Soap likes it because there's a pretty lady that talks to him
Mario Party. Price has to supervise
Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. Everyone is surprisingly chill when they play those two. Just something about Super Smash Bros that gets they hyped up
Untitled Goose Game and Goat Simulator. It's mostly you and Gaz playing. Funny games that makes you forget about the world for a few hours
The team also plays card and board games as well but that's for another time

Hello, I hope you don't mind if I share a weird headcanon of mine 👉👈
I normally see people talking about Kakyoin make drawing about you but what if Jotaro does that too? The reason I have this headcanon because I remember the scene when Jotaro using Star Platinum drawing the fly he saw in the picture, and he draw it so well. It makes me think that maybe Jotaro has talent in art too. Jotaro's style will be realistic style while Kakyoin will be more like cartoon/anime style.
Imagine their sketchbook filling with so many drawing of you 💕 Jotaro will watching you from afar, sketching you with your cute smile, your beautiful eyes, he captured it all. For Kakyoin, I think he will even make up characters (oc) that look like you and him and ship them together lol (this headcanon inspried by my friend, she actually do that with her crush).
Thank you for reading my ramble, glad to talk with you :D I would love to hear your thoughts about my weird headcanon
P/s: Love you writing so muchhhh 💝
This is fun stuff, I could eat it up all day. Thanks for sending it in, so I can blabber my mouth about it
This always internally bugged me so I’m very thrilled that someone brought up how well Star Platinum drew that fly. I suppose it’s kind of easy to gloss over for a lot of people compared to Kakyoin’s scene of painting on that canvas. (Then again that fly was kind of important to identify to figure out where Dio was so then again it’s “???” for an explanation)
Anywho, I’d say signs point to Jotaro being able to draw, and I think it’s a hobby he prefers keeping to himself. Like you said of him having a sketchbook, almost no one sees what he draws in it and he doesn’t want anyone else to see it especially if it’s various sketches of you. So more than likely when he does do so, he’s somewhere where he won’t be pestered by school girls, or whatever punk tries to start a fight with him.
I’d also like to think he goes back and lingers on prior stuff, just staring at it for a little while. This applies usually when you’re out of school sick (which he’ll probably stop by later anyway with or without your knowledge). But there’s something comforting about seeing every piece of your visage in his sketchbook. Literally no one else knows about this sketchbook aside from maybe Kakyoin (Holly has her suspicions he takes a sketchbook around but she smiles not pestering her son on his hobbies as she thinks it’s adorable).
For the most part art wise I think Jotaro sticks to traditional art, maybe a dabble of charcoal but he prefers pencils. Maybe watercolor if he ever went beyond, but traditional with pencil/pen is the easiest way for him to pull something out at his leisure. Would he let you see? Maybe eventually when he gets you where he wants you, or if the cat is out of the bag early and you see it and you’re not quite with him yet. Let’s just say seeing that may speed up him taking you.
Kakyoin I could definitely see diving into the oc type of thing, he’d certainly reference an artstyle of a manga you like. (Don’t ask how he figured that out so quickly). Though he definitely loves putting some passion into his artwork and occasionally shamelessly make sultry artwork of you and himself. He loves painting the most as he spreads colors, mixing them into the wondrous hues that is your skin tone. Or splashing watercolors in a notebook, that looks something out of a fairytale. Soft and warm lighting….oops he’s getting a tad bit excited.
He definitely presents pieces that are obviously meant to be stand ins for the two of you. That no one else would ever be wiser too, yeah you might have this odd feeling something’s not quite right, but there’s nothing there you could really prove other than observe just how pretty the composition is. If you compliment it, that just fuels this man’s desire further.
Biggest takeaway here is Jotaro and Kakyoin very blatantly have their own styles whether sticking with black/white/grey, or full on color. Both would be pretty in their own right, and their style choices speak of their personalities without saying a single word.

Do you have any tips/guides for writing abusive parents? How they act, and how a fight where they lash out at their child would be? I’m writing a story in which one of the main characters grows up with abusive parents that mistreat her because she doesn’t fit into society’s definition of ‘normal’ (they basically see her as a monster in the literal meaning of the word), and at one point they have a fight because the parents find out that shes kept a secret close friendship from them for several years, and they snap at her for going behind their backs (despite the parents not really caring about her and what she’s up to normally) while simultaneously being skeptical of their friendship, what it entails, and what being friends with them child says about the friend.
The problem is that no matter how I try to write the scene, it feels dramatized, if that makes sense. I get the feeling that it becomes unrealistic or stereotypical, especially since I know that in abusive households, a lot of the aggression and communication happens without words. I’ve tried researching a bit, but I struggle to find anything that’s relevant, and my childhood struggles were (luckily) not related to abusive parents, so I don’t have many experiences to use as reference when writing.
Resources And Advice For Writing Abusive Parents
Your story sounds really intriguing! I don't have personal experience with this but I asked around and did some research, and I uncovered a lot of interesting facts. If just been looking for a bit of advice/resources, in which case you can scroll straight to the bottom of the blog where I have some resources and niche advice for you.
But, if you, or any other reader for that matter, needs general help in writing abusive parental figures, here is everything I've uncovered thus far.
Understand The Abuser
Most of the blogs I read stated it's important to first understand your abuser. While not excusing the behaviour, understanding the motivations behind the abuser's actions can make your portrayal more nuanced. Abusers often have their own traumas or issues.
Abusive parents can emerge from a variety of traumatic backgrounds, each influencing their behaviour in distinct ways.
Some may have experienced abuse themselves, perpetuating a cycle they learned as children. Others might grapple with deep-seated insecurities, projecting their fears onto their children in an attempt to regain control. Understanding the diverse motivations behind abusive behaviour allows you to create a more authentic and layered portrayal of your characters.
You mentioned your character's parents mistreat her because she doesn't fit in the social norm, so start with figuring out why they're behaving this way. More often than not parental abusers abuse their children because they think they're 'saving' their child from something.
This is a common trend in female relationships, i.e the mother will abuse her daughter in an attempt to 'protect' her from what the mother faced. A mother who faced fatphobia might become an almond mom, etc.
The Motive
Understanding their motive will help you build a reason for their abuse, and then you can create realistic reactions based on that.
Let's continue with the almond mom example. Now, the mother might presume by verbally abusing her daughters and telling them to look/eat a certain way she shelters them from ever having to face this from other people.
If the mother's purpose is to ensure her daughter doesn't gain weight then she would likely have a more subtle abuse style.
So rather than having the mother snatch away the daughter's food in public and eat it for herself, the mother would take her daughter to a food court and fish out veggie bags from her purse claiming that is their lunch.
Maybe she constantly checks the daughter's weight and takes away certain food privileges (carbs/sugar) depending on the changes.
First, figure this out, or if you're having a hard time, you could tell me their motive and I'll help you with some realistic reactions/abuse tactics.
Complex Relationships
One important thing to understand about abusive parents is that at the end of the day. As children, we naturally crave parental approval, an instinct deeply embedded in our emotional fabric. This yearning persists even when we recognize the toxicity of the relationship. The deprivation of affection intensifies our desire for it, leading to a complex interplay of emotions.
In the context of your narrative, consider how your character might unconsciously seek their parents' approval despite the abusive dynamics. The power dynamics are not solely physical; emotional manipulation plays a significant role. An abusive parent's disapproval, expressed through statements like being disappointed or claiming their actions are for the child's benefit, can profoundly affect the abused child.
Perhaps their new friend is teaching them to detach from this mindset, something the parents deeply dislike and thus they want to distance your character from this friend to reinstate their control.
The Emotional Turmoil That Comes With It
Incorporating subtle cues to showcase your character's emotional turmoil can add layers to their experience of abuse. Consider a poignant example: your character choosing to wear a hoodie as a shield against the verbal assaults from their mother.
Perhaps on a day when they wore a hoodie, their mother made a disparaging comment, implying that concealing certain features made them appear more "normal." This traumatic incident could prompt your character to adopt hoodies as a protective barrier against the verbal onslaught, highlighting the lasting impact of emotional abuse.
Abuse vs Negligence
Exploring the nuances between abuse and negligence is crucial for creating a realistic portrayal of an abusive household. While physical and verbal abuse may be more visibly evident, neglect can be equally damaging, leaving lasting scars on a child's psyche.
Negligence encompasses a range of behaviours where parents fail to fulfil their responsibilities. This could involve emotional neglect, where a child's emotional needs are consistently ignored or dismissed. It might manifest as a lack of guidance, support, or affection, creating an environment where the child feels invisible or unimportant.
Moreover, neglect can extend to physical care, where parents neglect their child's basic needs, such as nutrition, hygiene, or medical attention. This form of neglect can have severe consequences on a child's health and well-being.
In your story, consider how neglectful behaviour intertwines with the abusive elements. Maybe the parents, consumed by their own issues, consistently overlook your character's struggles, reinforcing a sense of isolation and abandonment.
This interplay between neglect and abuse can deepen the emotional impact on your character and provide a more comprehensive portrayal of their traumatic experiences. It can also help you build a more meaningful tie with this friend. Maybe your character befriended this friend at a time when they felt abandoned and rejected by everyone, including those who were supposed to care for them the most.
Manipulation
In the realm of abuse and negligence, manipulation becomes a powerful tool that abusers often wield to maintain control. It's essential to recognize the subtle ways in which manipulation seeps into the dynamics of an abusive relationship.
Manipulation in neglectful situations might involve gaslighting, where the parents distort the child's reality or dismiss their feelings and experiences. This psychological manipulation can make the child doubt their perceptions and question the validity of their emotions, further intensifying the emotional toll.
Abusers may use manipulation as a means to deflect responsibility, shifting the blame onto the child for their own neglectful behaviours. This can create a warped sense of guilt and shame within the child, fostering a belief that they are somehow responsible for the inadequate care they receive.
In your narrative, explore how manipulation intertwines with neglect. Perhaps the parents employ manipulative tactics to downplay the severity of their neglectful actions, creating a distorted narrative that serves their agenda. This manipulation can deepen the emotional trauma experienced by your character, adding layers to their complex relationship with their parents.
General Resources
Here are curated resources to aid you in portraying the complexities of abusive dynamics and crafting a scene that resonates truthfully:
Movies:
Precious (2009): A poignant exploration of abuse and resilience.
Sleepers (1996): Delves into the impact of childhood trauma.
Books:
The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls: A memoir unravelling the intricacies of challenging family dynamics.
The Color Purple by Alice Walker: A powerful narrative addressing abuse and empowerment.
Real-Life Stories:
RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network): Offers survivor stories and resources.
Domestic Violence Hotline: Real-life narratives and support.
Online Articles:
Psychology Today: A wealth of articles dissecting the nuances of abusive relationships.
National Domestic Violence Hotline Blog: Real stories and insightful perspectives.
Approach these resources with sensitivity, understanding that the subject matter can be triggering. Always prioritize your mental health and well-being while navigating the intense world of abusive relationships in your writing journey.
Resources Specific To Your Question
My main advice would be to read personal accounts or case studies of individuals who have experienced abuse. This doesn't have to be real people, it can also be fictional characters. One character who comes to mind is Rapunzel.
Hear me out—just like your character Rapunzel meets Flynn who is someone her mother does not like. The ending of Tangled is a scene that comes to mind. You mentioned a fear of seeming too dramatic, but you could showcase the parents suddenly showing their 'true colours' in order to reinstate control over their child.
This can either backfire and the child realises it's now or never, they need to take a stand, or the child is terrified of the repercussions and gives in. Maybe you could write things like 'and suddenly, she was a five-year-old again, with tears and snot racing down her face as she begged her parents to simply look at her.'
I hope this blog on Resources And Advice For Writing Abusive Parents will help you in your writing journey. Be sure to comment any tips of your own to help your fellow authors prosper, and follow my blog for new blog updates every Monday and Thursday.

Cale earns a healing power that transfers the pain of whoever he used it on to himself
It could be a side thing of his healing ancient power-
He only uses it when he feels like one of his allies injuries was his fault/ could have been prevented or when they don't have enough healing potions/people
Literally anyone who Cale has used this power on is horrified when they find out how exactly it works
Like a scene where Cale was coughing up blood two seconds ago but notices a cut on Choi han's arm and instinctively heals it.
Choi han internally: 'goddamnit Cale-nim-'
Not sure if the injury should be healed by his ancient power or if he has to let it heal normally
---
Ex:
"Here, let me heal you."
'If I hadn't distracted him, this wouldn't have happened'
Cale moved his hand towards Choi han's head injury with a sour face. Everyone was fighting with members from Arm around them, although the battle was mostly one-sided-
Choi han moved his eyes up, only seeing the faint, white glow coming from Cale's hands. The headache that he felt slowly went away leaving a pleasant, warm feeling in it's place.
Choi han felt his energy go back to 100% and moved to stand.
"Cale-nim, please rest for now! We'll take care of this!"
".. Alright, be careful."
The only reason why Cale actually agreed to this was because he was tired and was now taking care of a head wound. It wasn't too bad, though still annoying.
After Choi han left, Cale ran a hand through his hair, said hand coming back with more blood than originally on Choi han's head.
'... this is one thing I don't like about Vitality if the Heart-'
-Human! What happened to your hair!? Are you hurt? I'll kill whoever did this-
"Don't worry about it, It'll heal soon."
Cale quickly began patting Raon to calm the overprotective dragon down while walking towards the carriages.
"Ah- sorry. I got some blood on you."
-...
Raon wordlessly teleported them both inside their carriage.
They took a nap untill the battle was over.
Cale forgot about the head wound and blood on his hair.
---
Now the thing above could go a few ways- when Cale wakes up and moves his head, there's a blood stain. And Choi han or whoever's in the carriage with him immediately notice, Choi han puts together the thing about his healing power and everyone bans him from using it again.
Or he wakes up in his bed with a bandage wrapped around his head and Ron tells him that he smelled the blood when he got in the carriage and scolds him for hiding an injury.
Or they make it back to the villa and when Ron is helping Cale shower, a crap ton of dried blood is coming out of his hair and Ron immediately takes him out and puts him to bed while calling several healers and again scolding him from hiding an injury.
Or they go to the Henituse mansion and Deruth hugs Cale in front of everyone, running his fingers through his hair and feels something wet. Spoiler alert: it's blood. Cale tries to tell everyone he's okay but fails because his head is literally bleeding.
Or Cale just faints as soon as he tries to step out of the carriage to see if anyone else is injured.
I HAD A LOT OF IDEAS WHILE WRITING THAT- Yes I know Cale hates pain, that's why I put the bit that said he only uses it when he feels like someone's injury was his fault-

I FINISHED MLP YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!
(Started December 3, 2022 - Ended January 1, 2024 - 413 Days)
Am absolutely mindblown to see such an amazing series go through 9 seasons and literally continuously keep getting better and better!!!!!!!
Its been very cool binging it so quickly compared to most old fandom members watching it through syndication. Similar to when I rewatched SU there's such a difference seeing ideas and characters evolve at normal pace than to sit there for years brewing in fandom content that makes you expect them to go a different path. Lots of what I've heard be controversial things like Slice of Life and Starlight in general were some of my favorite parts of the show!!
Fav episode is The Perfect Pear, I was spoiled William Shatner was gonna play someone in the series and was SO FUCKIGN EXCITED when I realized it was him and in such an amazing episode!!!!! The ending was so fucking sweet omg.
Second fav was Slice of Life cause I get it was fanservice but on its own it was a great change of pace in the season to focus on background and side characters!!! After that it feels like they focused on background characters way more and it was very rewarding.
Seeing ***every single shot of Derpy*** was the funnest part of the show, I have personal screenshots of every single time I spotted her and stopping in the middle of songs or big fights just to scream and snapshot them was such a fun scavenger hunt. It made me go NUTS to see them do actual stuff on screen (ESPECIALLY THE SCENE IN BEST GIFT EVER WHEN SHE FINALLY GOT TO SPEAK IN FOREVER). It was also hilarious to see all the error derpies with fucked up colors and hair!!!!! It stopped in the later seasons except a time where she had a purple eye in a single shot, and one where she had big mac's face???? I was having a blast.
Similarly I was also just watching every single background character all the time every time, got to figure out which ponies would be used for which locations, when they'd appear in other places, which special ones could show up anywhere, which ones would do funny stuff, seeing new super cute background characters come in like Sweet Biscuit and Rainbow Stars!!! As someone hyperfocused on stupid stuff this was so fun watching the background nonstop.
Favorite season was season 6 or 7. Starlight was a great link for the episodes and it was the most normal seasons while the writing had gotten really good. Season 8 and 9 are still super good and I love that they were so willing to be bold and change things up a ton to keep interest, but 6 and 7 are closer to the usual baseline episode stuff so they're the best to go back to if I wanna rewatch.
I think the early seasons were still looking for a longterm identity for the show but I think starting season 5 it became this really great constant escalation of things. I really expected the show to just linger around the same ol' topics but it it kept changing the characters lives, the plot, and circumstances a ton while developing old characters and introducing new ones! Out of everything I've watched so far it was like the most masterful way to run a longterm series I've seen. Never felt burnt out or that anything was dragging, but also never felt like it ever lost its core identity!
Season 9 also was just a masterclass on ending a series, every single episode focused on bringing back some side character to give them an interesting spin, or conclude some arcs left behind. There were maybe one or two normal episodes but even those didnt feel like filler! I think the show was at its best throwing new ideas out and then taking a break with a standard friendship problem episode in a normal location. After watching it I don't think there was any missing thread or interesting thing they didn't try out! (Though also the series is formatted well enough they definitely could have continued making tons of standard episodes)
I can't remember if it was season 2 or 3 but I think when they first started introducing like regular songs to non adventure/important episodes it was really off, didn't really mesh well having the show be so musical, but they definitely incorporated it better as they went along and its kinda crazy it worked out well.
BTW I've steered clear from almost all opinions on the show outside of what Ray tells me so I dont know what of my opinions are universal to the fandom, but holy shit the season 8-9 intro sucks so much ass, all of the timing is COMPLETELY lost, theres that stupid school zoom out shot thats just maud hitting a rock in the middle of the road as it slowwwwwly pans, the backgrounds are way too visually noisy in the classrooms and the castle and its just an absolutely horrible nightmare that was thrown together in a day.
But yeah great show favorite show best show!!!!! I now get to see a decade of fan content and reviews and discussions n such!!! I watched some that were time appropriate for the current season I was watching to avoid spoilers but nows time for the floodgates!!!!! I'm glad I'll be able to hold onto my opinions now though and seperate them from anything I'm gonna further see discussed by all the old fans. I'm sure there will be tons of complaints I never considered but as I see it now that was a perfect run of television that I love very dearly!!!! Its certainly changed my life going forward lol.

Warning ahead of time (Post includes mention of death-- cremation and mortality. So proceed if you want to)
You know, I started to think about that death scene from 'The Player and The Dollmaker" post. It was the part where Time described burying the player and returning their stuff to their mother. That scene got me thinking of how I wouldn't want to be buried in Hyrule. Honestly, I know how breathtaking and fairytale like it can be but that wouldn't change my mind of where I want to die. I feel like that can be intertwined with Player as well. Even if they feel excited to be in one of their favorite video games with legendary heroes, it can start to wane on you. Missing aspects of you normal life and wondering about the changes happening at home start to affect you. Even though we might start to describe the Earth as a bad place, that there wasn't light in the darkness. The people we met, the families we have, and the achievements we have accomplished and will still drive us to live. Besides, it is a bit safer than Hyrule, where Player is always vulnerable to monsters, Dark Link, and even the people. As long as the Player can't fight back, they will have more fear and a higher possibility to die. I feel like it would start to seed into the Player's mind and make them think about their own mortality.
I say that they would take a couple of days just thinking. Whether it would be few or a lot, they start to think about their own (possibly eventual) death. The chain might notice that they aren't talkative at all. They shut down and take every moment to think of each scenario. Hyrule, Wind, and Wild might feel more worried about them than everyone else but there will still be that heaviness of what's causing to change. Hyrule might persuade you to talk about it with him or have small conversations about anything but the Player would be worn off and quiet. Gilda might even stay close to them but Player doesn't pay her any attention. They might not be active at all with Wind and might politely decline any activity he wants to do. In the case that he drags them regardless of what they say, Player just stays motionless and out of touch. Wild might notice that Player doesn't eat as much as they used to, considering that they leave behind food in their bowl. Stuff like this starts to get on everyone's radar but they aren't sure how to resolve it. Even if Player was a lot (talkative, cheerful, funny, slightly optimistic, loving, a riot, determined, wild, and annoying), they brought an atmosphere that made things a little better. I'm sure they have their own private meetings while the Player's sleeping to talk about what's going on. Some of them observed on desolate they are while others observed how they constantly write in a journal with strange symbols and constantly rewrite stuff as if editing it. They decide the best way to approach this situation is to wait for them to talk first.
Later, on a certain day, they decide to speak during the occasional meeting around the fire. They decide to speak once everything important is out of the way.
"There is something I'd like to say"
Everyone might be surprised that they spoke but quiet down anyways. This leaves room for the Player to speak but they appear hesitant with concerned eyes moving towards Wind.
"There might be a chance that I might die during this journey and I want to plan out how I want to be 'buried' ,or in the literal way, conserved."
"You can't be serious""Yeah, we can just heal all of your injuries with a potion or fairy"
They raise their hand to stop the interruption.
"I feel like anything can kill me at any point of this journey. I know that's the thing everyone keeps at the back of their head and fully acknowledge but I can't seem to get the thought that I might be sooner to die than all of you."
Their voice wavers and their eyes become watery. Hyrule and Wild gesture to move closer to comfort them and reassure them that they would rather die than let that happen but Player moves away. They fist their hand and breath in and out.
"I'm not immune to any of your diseases, I'm weaker and very uncoordinated to defend myself against anything or anybody, I'm dumb as a brick, and I'm no use to anybody. I'm just lucky I survived these few instances but, with things get more serious and dangerous, I can't ignore the fact that I will die."
A breeze carries by as no one knows what to say. Therefore, Player continues.
"If my body is intact, I want you to burn me and carry my ashes home. I know that might take a few days off from your journey but I refuse to be buried in any of your Hyrules. It isn't an insult to your homes but I want to die in my home. Give me to my mother and also here"
The rustle of paper catches their attention as the Player hands the note to Time. Warriors and Twilight peek over his shoulder as he sees it but they can't seem to make out what it says.
"It's nothing important. It's just my will-- the shit I have has to go somewhere." They chuckle but the atmosphere is too discouraging to save.
"Money (hardly anything) stays with my mother, toys to younger cousins, consoles go to the older cousins, and everything else will get donated."
They slowly turn away from the group and head towards their bedroll. They stop a few inches away.
"if the case I get controlled or possessed, I want someone to kill me. I don't think I can live with myself if I hurt others in anyway."
As they turn their head slightly, they plant onto Legend.
"Preferably Legend. It would take a lot of weight out of him." With their hands thrown around mockingly, "he can finally end the evil witch that posed a threat to the group from the very beginning. The hero finally ending their reign of terror, cheer for his victory."
Dry laughter comes from them as they stare into his conflicted eyes. "You would want that, wouldn't you?"
No one knew how to respond as they settled into their bed and wished everyone a goodnight. The next day, Player went completely back to how they normally were but the chain still held discussion in the back of their mind.
(Man, I seriously went on a rant with this. But I really couldn't get it out of my head--although I'm not good with integrating the characters into this scenario--I just wanted to share my thoughts with you and everyone else.
I just thought of how important going back home is. With the area Player's in, their death rate is higher than anyone else. I just though that if I wanted to die, I would like to go home fully. It would upset my family but having that closure of being home will help them move on, especially our mother.
But I think that idea of having our preserved ashes addressed an item really got to me. You know how whenever you select or hover over an item, it's name appears normal and sometimes playful. They are presented lively and have unique names that distinguish them from the rest of the items. I imagines one of the boys carrying our ash box and just [NAME] appears. No lively or ridiculous name. Just a morbid box of your friend's ashes in your inventory. Can't imagine the weight of seeing that with the rest of your items. Just being reminded of their failure and constantly carrying that reminder like Atlas carrying the Earth (maybe an exasperation but maybe close to a boulder). It might get to some of them, especially Hyrule, considering how he freaked out in that specific post.
But yeah, I just wanted to share that thought, sorry if it was too much. But I really like your content and I just wanted to give my through on a certain scenario. Thanks for viewing it)
Okay so this hurt A LOT
But God I loved this so much too- it's such a good and real idea too. Hyrule is amazing, Hyrule is beautiful and magical but at the end of the day Hyrule is not Earth. Hyrule is not Player's home. Why would they want to be buried in such a place? It only makes sense to want to be returned home after everything was done.
ALSO THE INVENTROY ASH BOX 😭😭😭😭😭 God just imagine the blank look on the Link's face, yet the complete hurt in his eyes having to carry such a thing

Spiderverse huh 👀 how uh
How do you feel about spider-punk 👁️👁️
a/n ohhh he's so boyfriend idc, but i feel like in an accidental way?? like his official stance would be something like 'defined relationships mainly exist in order to further consumerism and marriage is just a way for the government to be more involved in daily lives, etc'
and he'd probably also say he doesn't like consistency so he doesn't believe in dating, but the second he has a crush on someone he's so done for,, like if anyone asks about the person he likes he'll be like wdym??? we're literally married? but to the actual person he'd do nice things but pretend it has nothing to do with them lmao
i feel like he'd be so supportive too, like you could do anything and he'd be like wow, amazing, show stopping, what a way to fight against the establishment!!
anyways here's a little blurb bc i love him (in this one, the reader works in the news world, nothing too specific, just that they have a camera and a reason to go out of their way to risk their safety to take pictures of an active villain attack/crime)
warnings: me writing a character for the first time (so potentially a little ooc), a person that knows nothing about british people writing a british character, mutually pining besties
----
The whole thing had been an abrupt burst of chaos, and what no one ever talks about when it comes to any type of sudden disaster is the aftermath. Adrenaline starts to dwindle and you're forced to take in and process what happened.
You force yourself to breathe slowly as you examine your surroundings. The building across the street from you has sustained some major damage, but everything else still seems stable. Everyone you can see looks like they're safe and in the distance you can hear sirens. First responders are already making their way to the scene. That's a good sign, yet you can't bring yourself to feel relieved.
Not until a familiar blur of motion catches the corner of your eye. You step back, furthering yourself from the edge of the rooftop to give him some space. Knowing that he's okay enough to be swinging like that eases that tension in your chest. A fact he can never know because of how you ended up on this rooftop. So instead of smiling and greeting him the way you normally would, you cross your arms and keep your expression steady.
"Everythin' alright up here?" He keeps his tone casual, a subtle reminder that your best friend isn't your best friend right now.
You tilt your head, giving him a pointed look. You want to be as mad as you were at first, but seeing that he's uninjured always makes you lose any edge. He doesn't look like he's been hit or injured and he's standing in a way that doesn't favor a particular side of his body more than the other. He is, however, making a point of keeping an arm behind his back. Because he doesn't seem to be in any notable pain, you decide that your questions should wait until later, when you're somewhere where you can be concerned openly.
"Everything was alright on the ground." You lift the camera that's hanging from the strap around your neck. "...When I was doing my job."
He takes a step towards you, angling his head downwards and lowering his voice like someone might hear you even though you're stories above the people attempting to get through the aftermath of the incident. "You got plenty of photos before...I checked."
The last part is tacked on almost sheepishly, like there's something embarrassing about the admission. It takes you a second to get why. You didn't see him before he swung onto the scene, all business and not in the mood to even hear your justification for staying close to the action. That means your abrupt kidnapping relocation wasn't as sudden and unreasonable to him. He didn't just pluck you from the ground and place you on a rooftop he deemed safe enough at the first sign of increasing trouble. He had trusted you to take care of yourself until things escalated.
You fight to not soften. "Still." Tilting your chin up in an attempt to appear stern, you speak slowly. "You could've asked."
He sighs, shaking his head. "You would've said no."
"Yeah, and I would've been entitled to," you mumble, arms finally relaxing. "But...thanks." The second he pulled you away, the wall to the building you were standing closest to crumbled. Maybe you should give Hobie some credit for that.
"Y'know there was a barricade, and the authorities were saying somethin' about no press."
Ah. You knew he'd bring it up eventually. "I um--didn't notice."
He takes a step forward. "Didn't notice?"
"No, I was...busy."
"Doin' what?" He angles his head to one side and you're struck with the feeling that he finds this a lot more entertaining than you want him to.
You sigh. "Sneaking in through the back alley."
He lets out a breath that's suspiciously close to a laugh. You can picture his smile. "Atta girl, ignoring the regulations of a bureaucratic system that wants to keep the truth from the people."
A part of you is pleasantly surprised that he didn't take the opportunity to poke fun at what could be interpreted as a bit of hypocrisy. From time to time you like to gently remind him that nothing bad will happen if he doesn't go out of his way to break a rule because sometimes it's risky, especially with a secret identity. His response is always something along the lines of where's the fun in that?
"So I should have stayed down there?"
He pauses, not liking the turn this conversation is taking. Of course you can handle yourself and a bit of justified rebellion would never cause you any harm, but he can't exactly Spider-Man to the best of his ability with you there. It makes his attention drift back to you, to make sure you're okay. Was stranding you on a roof top the best solution? Maybe not, but you're stubborn and he had to act quickly. Besides, you never take these news reporting spats too seriously.
The corner of your mouth turns up, happy that you're winning this one. "You're sending mixed messages."
"You know how I feel about consistency."
You're about to say something else, a half thought out joke that never gets to develop because a nerve-inducing shout steals the moment. Your head snaps forward and so does Hobie's. "You're gonna have to..."
"Yep." He's approaching the edge the roof, but before he can leap off and into action, he turns. "Oh--before I forget--"
Hobie extends the arm that was tucked behind his back. He's holding something shielded by slightly crumpled, waxy paper. After a second, you realize the mesh of colors peaking out from it are flowers. Some of the stems making up the outer part of the arrangement are slightly bend and a few of the longer pieces have lost their petals. That does nothing to take away from how delicate they look. Your eyes grow wide at the gesture.
you reach out for them almost dumbly, "You got me these?"
He lets you take the bouquet, your fingers brushing against the fabric of his suit. "I uh--yeah." You grin as he clears his throat. "Snagged 'em from that soulless, corporate shop that drove out the last of the good ones. Thought they earned a bit of trouble and these reminded me of you."
Aw. He makes it so hard to be mad at him over abandoning you on a random roof when he does things like this. You look down at the flowers, smoothing out the edges of the paper they're wrapped in.
"They're a little outta shape, I co--"
"No," you shake your head, pulling the flowers towards you defensively, like he was trying to snatch them away, "They're mine and I love them, back off."
He holds his hands up in defense, "Alright, love, no one's taking 'em."
Your smile grows even fonder. "Good."
Another concerning yell reaches the two of you. "Gotta go."
"Wait!" He turns his head, but keeps moving towards the edge. "How am I supposed to get down? You webbed the door shut."
"I did do that," he pauses, but another loud yell echoes around the two of you before he can do anything. "I'll come back!"
"Don't--!" It is so hard to not call out his name sometimes.
He jumps, swinging away, "I'll make it up to you!"
You roll your eyes, adjusting your hold on the flowers. "Yeah," you mumble, knowing there's no way he can still hear you, "You better."
It doesn’t matter anyways, he always does.

I feel like I just started coming on tumblr and dropping Serious Shit with a tinge of meta because it's often discussing fandom perceptions so
my Umineko episode ranking, entirely subjective, so that I have something normal on here. I'm pretty sure over the years it is still the least normal ranking ever but at least the structure/idea counts as normal I think
1: Dawn of the Golden Witch
Dawn has literally everything in it. Beabato. Shannon and Kanon focus (the duel). Erika being the most ever. Also the POV change as Battler shifts from a reader to an author and us needing to rely on other characters is hot. And the wedding scene. The wedding. EriBeato fighting...
2: Twilight of the Golden Witch
...Sometimes I question why Twilight is still so high up considering how badly it handles Erika's character and how clumsily over the top it is. Then I remember Ange's everything, boat scene, and Battler being the best big brother ever. And Yukari. And Tohya. Yeah.
3: End of the Golden Witch
Beatrice and Battler (meta) have such a good dynamic here as he so tenderly tries to understand her. It breaks my heart every time. Also Erika gets to be at her most 'detective' in End (in Dawn she acts much more like a witch and pulls dirty tricks) on top of Dlanor getting to show off a lot here. End also has the most explicit Dante references~ I think my main gripe with End is the gameboard. It's perfect for what it is - a game written without love by Lambda - but how piece Beato acts and how she acts towards Natsuhi is incredibly uncomfortable.
4: Turn of the Golden Witch
Both Sayo message bottles have a lot more horror-mystery with fantasy themes than the rest of the story, so they both hold a special place in my heart. Beatrice and Battler's back and forth dynamic is honestly at its best in Turn, where Battler respects her as an opponent and genuinely seems to enjoy some of the banter he has with her. And then Beatrice completely crushes him. The sexuality of it is So Much. I think what keeps Turn from top 3 for me is just the beginning pacing being slow - all of the top 3 are Chiru, which all have much faster paces in general than Question episodes.
5: Alliance of the Golden Witch
This episode has a lot of incredible moments - Ange's everything, Battler's sin, the entirety of the ending sequence - but a lot of the gameboard and meta ring a bit... hm. Hollow? In part this is because Beatrice has changed her tactics and given up on engaging meaningfully with Battler in their usual back and forth format, but Ange's entry into their dynamic also weakens things. Some of the moments with Kinzo are good, but in general there's such a focus on fantasy that the usual mystery is lost, and the lack of engaging Beatrice-Battler meta debate doesn't help.
6: Legend of the Golden Witch
Another Sayo message bottle with slow pacing. It's a feature, not a bug, and there's a lot packed into everything - Sayo is a very dense writer, I feel - but it can feel slow at times. Beatrice haunting the narrative is both a strength and a weakness: we don't get to see her at all, but it is an incredible way to begin the story. I also appreciate how Sayo goes out of her way to torment Natsuhi. I wonder if it is meant to parallel how Lambda writes it in EP5 - the indirect witch taunting Natsuhi in EP1 vs. the human culprit, the dead Lion, in EP5?
7: Banquet of the Golden Witch
I love Banquet. I also hate how Battler acts towards Beatrice a lot of the time, how they had to retcon things from Episode 2 or make us invent explanations for it (why Battler is fine with EP2 magic but freaks out in EP3), and how they had to handhold the reader using Virgilia. A lot of how I see Banquet is "local man takes issue with trauma survivor acting traumatized" and while Battler is relatable on a first read, when you know magic is often meant to represent personal fantasies/daydreams, how EP4 handles it is a million times more compassionate than how EP3 handles it. Beato is very cute this episode, though, which makes up for some of the horrors it makes me experience.
8: Requiem of the Golden Witch
I love Will and Lion but 90% of this episode is a terrible slog to read through on a reread, despite being the shortest episode (and yet somehow it has the longest manga). I do like some of the information it reveals (Shannon playing/growing up with the cousins, getting to see some baby Sayo) but it's like... The Umineko answer sheet. There isn't much to unpack in it. It's an answer sheet with a relatively thin veil of fantasy over it.

Bro this is so stupid like as a huge Sephiroth stan in particular who tends to feel very defensive of his pre-insanity self because of how much I think he deserved better, I absolutely adore Genesis too?? Genesis has a lot of issues but genuinely why the hell would we not find that interesting? Sephiroth is a mess too, hell even Angeal is a mess, but they would be so boring if they were anything normal.
And one of the funniest things is how the fans who like Seph but hate Genesis miss one of the key elements of their relationship which is that Sephiroth clearly adored Genesis himself lmao. I wish we could have learned more about Sephiroth’s relationship with Angeal actually, because the Genesis focus is so much more up-front.
Sephiroth is the one trying to call him desperately in EC and they put that in the TRAILER, Seph was the one torn up over not being able to be Gen’s blood donor (help), he’s the one wracked with guilt over Gen’s injury which wasn’t even his fault, he’s the one smiling in genuine happiness when Gen is reading Loveless in that scene, and smiling at him again when they are sparring and having fun…Sephiroth really valued Genesis as a friend and you can tell. He had every chance to fight him in the Hollander escape scene, but he just stood there and let Genesis do his thing. He didn’t even shoot back when Genesis showed up in the reactor and blasted Zack away (help💀) (Ok Seph might actually be a little too gracious with his friend but anyway….)
I know it upsets people the way Genesis acts, but clearly even Sephiroth wasn’t too fazed until the reactor scene when Genesis crossed the line. I originally hated Gen in that scene too and felt Seph’s anger but all it takes is one good analysis like that anon gave to see why Gen did what he did. You can still be pissed at him and hate that scene and even others, but bro to dismiss the entire character as a one dimensional asshole who just likes to bully people is um…how you say….braindead. You can even hate the character fr but to attack people for seeing his layers and depth?? Bruhhhh.
Gackt himself helped write the character and spoke of Gen’s nuance, how he had a glass heart, and was secretly a sweetheart but was just brought to his lowest because of his circumstances and bitterness. Very believable if you ask me. Like it IS possible to think of a character this way and not condone what they did and that’s why these haters baffle me. YOU GUYS ARE ACTING EXACTLY LIKE YOUR NEMESIS CHARACTER.
Anyway, thanks for being based Altocat
All of this. Thank YOU for being equally based, anon!
Like I said, I'm not for a moment going to argue that the writing on Genesis during Crisis Core is especially good. Only that he's a more complicated character than we give him credit for.
And, I'm just going to say it--it's EASY to go with the crowd and hate on him. A lot of famous people in the community hate Genesis so I feel like the natural response for a lot of casual fans is to just hate him by default. And like I said, totally fine. Completely fine. He's poorly written, kind of a jerk at times, and very pretentious.
But when the literal GODDESS OF THE PLANET sees value in redeeming him, there's more to him than just him being bitchy and arrogant. There are layers.
Seph loved him. Angeal loved him. Zack went out of his way to save him from himself. The in-universe canon sees value in Genesis Rhapsodos. Why can't we?

hi, hello, big fan! literally all of your writing is so good and top tier and i love every second of anything of urs i've read. which the most recent thing i read was ur jason and danny big hero 6 story. and i was so excited bc i love big hero 6, and u served like u do every time. that voice recording from mech-Robin took me out into a puddle of my own tears.
that being said i had a potential scene stuck in my head after i read that and i need to make it ur problem so here (i love love sibling angst) :
(kinda playing on ur implied engineer/inventor jason and implied danny's weakness being electricity above a certain threshold):
danny' despite telling dick that he would do a last patrol to say good bye, does not actually do that. he can't. not after- he has jason's face. he calls himself the red hood apparently. murder, mob boss, assassin, call him whatever you want. danny knows jason and that- that's not words people use for jason.
danny knows all abt pple coming back. first hand. that- that was is jason. they fought a few times. danny tried to figure out what was going on. either red hood (bc hes not jason- not yet) is being extremely tight lipped, or he doesn't know wither.
this time had been like every other time this past week danny encountered red hood in jason's turf (it would always be jason's, danny was just taking care of it). they met on a roof top, or rather danny had intercepted him. dick had told him not to go, said red hood was too dangerous, no one knew how far he was capable to go, what he was capable of doing. (danny didn't have the words to tell dick who was under the hood). danny didn't listen.
danny could tell red hood was getting annoyed of him. he was being more and more drastic, trying to get in heavier hits. if danny wasn't already half-way dead, hood would've gotten him there himself by now.
so when hood turned to look at danny, almost expecting- ready for a fight- danny hadn't been surprised. they fought like the always did. hood tried to kill, danny tried to subdue- get through to him. you can't kill whats already dead.
but hood was trying getting as close as anyone had gotten. a weird metal rope rapped itself around danny's foot, and before he had the chance to go intangible and get rid of it, electricity spiked through it.
danny could handle regular electricity, wall circuits, random door nobs, chargers - he was fine.
this- this was not normal electricity.
danny couldn't stop the scream that came out of his mouth as he crumbled to the floor in pain. pain that he'd only ever felt once before- thought he would never feel again. after all you can only die once.
danny did have a way with breaking rules though.
"danny!" he heard dick yell for him.
"danny you're hurt. on a scale from 1-10 how much pain do you feel." robin came out from it's hiding spot danny had told it to stay in. he didn't want jason to make that connection. if he even remembered.
"fucking a thousand." he barley managed before everything went dark.
-
dick knew he should've tried harder to stop him. should've known the kid would need more than a measly tracker. at least a comm, at least some good tech. not like they were short on funds. dick was suck a goddamn idiot to only realize that when he heard the most thought shattering scream of pain in his life.
"danny!" he screamed, not even thinking of code names.
"nightwing. what happened?" oracle asked in his ear.
he didn't have time to respond, only focusing on getting to danny as fast as he could. he's promised jason- god damit dick- you promised jason that u'd take the kid if smt happened to him. he would screwier dick if he had even known that he let danny go out vigilanting in crime ally of all places. unsupervised at that.
red hood towered over an unconscious but still withering in pain danny, crow bar in hand, ready to make the kill.
dick knew he couldn't get there in time. "danny!" he cried again, not feeling this helpless since his last circus act. oracle said something urgently, then b, but dick couldn't hear over the static in his own head.
red hood heard him that time. the crow bar inches away from danny's skull froze from what would've been a critical hit.
"danny?" he heard red hood's robotic voice echo from under the mask, but he didn't let the implied confusion deter him. he tackled him to the floor.
hood stayed there. watching dick as he untied the metal rope from danny's foot and called be to bring the batmobile and for someone to prep the medbay.
dick felt danny's pulse. it was light, feint, almost gone.
he could work with almost.
"danny." red hood said again, this time more sure of something.
there was something familar about the way he said that, but dick couldn't figure out why. (it sounded like jason) it didn't matter, because he would make sure danny never had to take on red hood again. not on his own.
he made a promise and he would keep it.
---
sorry i didn't think it would be that long, but it was such a bad itch in my brain and i needed to get it out.
OH MY GOSH YOU USED THE LINE
Poor Dick, he's Trying™ so hard but you cannot save/solve everything 😔 But also I'm sure this was intentional but that very similar parallel to the Joker was Concerning. Still oh so angsty though, thank ye for that. This is why I shouldn't be allowed to write for Whumptober, and yes I'm still thinking about writing for Whumptober despite of that lol
But all this was inspired by "On a scale from 1-10?" asfhjdsgh
Tumblr media
But you are right that fic was very emotional (it didn't help that I wasn't feeling the greatest at the time so I probably added some extra angst as a result lol) I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! It was very heavy so I know not a lot of people could/would read it, but to know that there are fans out there, that really did enjoy it 🥺 Thank you so much for sharing <3

YOUR WRITING>>>>>
I don't know how you came up with Naga Scaramouche but I've been brain rotting for days now 😩
Do you have any ideas how'd he'd react if someone goes out of their way to look for reader after they disappeared?
Especially if they mightve been a love interest at some point or the person clearly has feelings for them 👀
(referring to this)
A friend of mine actually came up with the idea for naga scara!! Together, we fleshed out the plot. It wasn't originally a fic, though, it was just a rp that got me brainrotting afterwards. I couldn't stop thinking about the whole concept until I finished writing Hidden in the Sands. The fic literally wouldn't leave me alone unless I was working on it LMAO
I'm going to take this as an excuse to talk a bit about the behind the scenes here (you have NO idea how much I've wanted to infodump about this fic)–originally, the reader was actually my friend's interpretation of Lumine and Sanad was originally my Alhaitham. I also played the part of Kuni himself. It was a bit awkward, actually, because Alhaitham and Kuni had to talk to each other a little bit and it felt like I was talking to myself.
I've changed the personalities of the reader and Sanad greatly, as you might have already guessed, since Sanad behaves nothing like Alhaitham; Sanad's more like one of those "prime examples" that Alhaitham talks about when he says, "Book learning alone is not enough to cultivate intelligence." Sanad is, intentionally, a very flawed but still reasonably likeable character. I want to talk about him too. Oh boy, looking back on this I sure did talk a lot about an OC I don't think anyone genuinely cares about.
I wanted to make him come off as normal, like an actual human person. He really is just a regular dude, he's just been kinda brainwashed by the Akademiya, as shown by the lines, "The Akademiya has declared them to be just baseless nonsense, so of course I don't think they actually exist." and "Desert dwellers tend to be... fearless." He's absorbed many commonly held beliefs (and biases) in the Akademiya, a textbook example of someone who's been taught what to think rather than how to think. I wanted him to be realistic. However, he's still funny, charming, and overall good-willed, even if he's spineless and very easily led.
I've greatly changed the fic from the original rp, and only the base premise (yandere!naga!scara and the whole "commissioned to find the culprit for some strange murders in the Hadramaveth") remains the same. It went through several versions at first. In fact, before I came up with Sanad, I was going to have Cyno replace Alhaitham! But ultimately, I realized Cyno was actually competent and I might have had to write a proper fight scene, which I did not want to do. You can still see a remnant of the first draft I chose to leave in (from when Cyno was the disposable companion) in the bad joke Sanad tells at the beginning of the story.
Using Sanad also had other benefits that I feel helped pull the fic together!! His cowardly nature gave reader a chance to endear themselves to Kunikuzushi, for refusing to abandon Sanad even after he (frankly, understandably) ran away. Even this early on, I had decided that whatever backstory naga Kuni might have had, it absolutely had to revolve around betrayal since canon Kuni's backstory is so deeply tied to it.
It's a really minor pet peeve of mine, and it doesn't bother me too much, but I usually don't really like it when the yandere starts to fixate on the object of their obsession for no reason than, like, "love at first sight" or "they simply caught my eye for some vague reason I cannot put into words." It's not bad, per se, and it's not even a solid rule of mine! I can think of several fics I love that don't give a solid reason, though the characters in those have such a dynamic that you still understand why one became so interested in the other to begin with... (I'm making this more complicated than it is, I think, but I'm beginning to think it's just I just don't care for it when the MC has the depth of a piece of paper.) Anyway, I'm getting derailed again, but I chose to give Kuni a reason to empathize with the reader in the form of Sanad and his "betrayal" because of this preference of mine.
However, and I think I've touched on this a bit in a previous post, this wasn't the only reason Kuni decided to spare them. In fact, even after he decided to leave you for last, he still thought he was going to come back to kill you. What really interested him was your insistence on saving Sanad even after what Kuni perceived as a betrayal. Why would you try to help someone who didn't even make an attempt to help you? It doesn't make sense. You're too soft, it's endearing.
Whether or not Sanad's actions are justified is debatable, though I personally understand them. He's never fought in his whole life. If you, the experienced monster-fighting adventurer couldn't do it, how could he? He doesn't even have a sword. It's certainly cowardly and rude to say the least, but given the circumstances, I think it's the choice most people would make in that situation. Of course, it's absolutely something Kunikuzushi could have (and did) twist into something completely different. I think I made it pretty obvious, but contrary to what Kuni said, Sanad had no such malicious thoughts when he left you there. Kuni is extremely jaded; his perception of the world has been mostly shaped by the betrayals he's experienced, and he's no different in this AU. As I said before, Sanad's not a terrible person, just terribly average. If he had survived, he absolutely would have had survivors' guilt.
Anyway!!! I'm not sorry about the infodump, thank you for giving me the slightest reason to tell you all about it. Here's what you actually asked for.
Kuni views most people as inconsequential, little more than helpless ants. He doesn't care about them in the slightest. If anything, they irritate him. So when someone shows up–an old friend, a crush, anyone–his first thought is to get rid of them if they venture too far in, and especially if they see him. Even if he doesn't know that they know you. If he lets them go, more will come. If he finds out they're looking for you, specifically... well, it doesn't really change his plans. He's going to kill them no matter what.
It does motivate him though, to be a bit crueler, to make it last a bit longer. What they are to you doesn't change the outcome, but it might sour his mood a bit more if they were anything more than friends or family. It's not likely that he'll leave them be long enough to find this out, though. Logically speaking, they're probably not going to tell a monster like him all about the friend/family/crush they're looking for in this desert, especially not when he's clearly unfriendly.
It's not totally impossible, though. This hypothetical person would have heard all about the strange attacks (as mentioned in the fic), so seeing a large half-snake person could make them realize that Kuni was most likely the cause for your disappearance (even though they'd assume it was murder and not kidnapping). Even so, I doubt they'd have a little chat over tea about who all Kuni has murdered recently.
Anyway, I digress. Assuming he figures it out somehow, whether or not he tells you about them depends on his mood and your behavior. Unfortunately for you, dealing with people irritates him. Especially when they're specifically looking to take what's his from him.
He'll come back covered in blood either way, but if he's in a bad mood, or you haven't been on your best behavior, he'll tell you all about what they looked like. He makes sure to mention that they were looking for you, and describe in detail everything he did to them.
"I'm going to leave his corpse out to rot in the sun," he hissed into your ear, pulling away to look you in the eye, "for the vultures and serpents to feast on. It serves him right. He was on a fool's errand; it's impossible to retrieve what's lost to the sands."

uhhh how about Abbacchio for the ask game? (sorry I won’t stop hyping them up they are so cool)
(For this ask game)
First impression: Tbh I actually really really liked him from the beginning. Grumpy Old Man who is actually 21 is such a funny character concept, and when they revealed his backstory and stand? Immediately in love. Adore characters who can’t escape the past and, in his case, are quite literally doomed to eternally repeat it.
Impression now: Still love him!! I wish he had more of a fleshed-out character arc in some respects, but I like that his final moments are framed by him doing a simple, mundane act of kindness, and leaving a final message that only Giorno can interpret, implying that he’s finally come to trust him. He’s one of the better-written characters in Vento Aureo imo, and I just find him really interesting. The little snippets we get of him in Purple Haze Feedback really add to his character, too :]
Favorite moment: Is it too basic to say “the only time I’m at ease is when I’m with you, Bucciarati” boat scene. Because Bruabba Brain aside, like. What an awesome monologue and insight into his character, especially when you think back to another favorite scene of mine during the Man in the Mirror fight, where he basically outlines his desire to serve something greater than himself. Which you would normally take as him being sort of subservient to the most powerful force at play, but by getting on the boat, he shows that he still has agency, and, even if it’s a losing battle, he’s more interested in defending what’s right rather than what’s most comfortable. Great stuff.
Idea for a story: PRE-CANON STUFF I LOVE YOU PRE-CANON STUFF. I need to write more about the fucked up weird little group dynamic between him, Bucciarati, and Fugo in the early days of the gang. Especially when he first joins, and they’re all getting slowly adjusted to one another like a bunch of skittish cats.
Unpopular opinion: Hate it when people say he’s the dad of the group. He’s not a dad just by virtue of being with Bucciarati (whose role as a “parental figure” I do buy but in a tragic fucked up way but that’s another rant). He’s the grizzled old grandfather who sits on his porch and throws peanut shells at kids who step on his lawn, but if you sit down next to him for a while he’ll tell you stories that’ll change your life, and he’ll pretend to be annoyed by you but he’ll let you have a sip of beer and call you “kid.” Do you understand me.
Favorite relationship: Him and Bucciarati obviously. Near-religious devotion and regarding him as your savior but still calling him a freak every now and again so awesome. But I also really love his relationship with Fugo that’s touched on in Purple Haze Feedback, and I like how, despite unreliable narrator Fugo thinking they weren’t close, so much of the person Fugo becomes is a reflection of Abbacchio. You became the very thing you sought to destroy etc etc.
Favorite headcanon: He knits and crochets. No reason behind this really, I just think it’d be nice and therapeutic for him. He likes to knit scarves, blankets, etc for the rest of the gang, leave them in their rooms, and pretend they weren’t from him. Everyone catches on, but they know he’ll deny it, so they don’t say anything.

where's my Song of Achilles anon at ! I read the book. liked some stuff didn't like other stuff. it was fanficition of a two thousand year old poem from a three thousand or more year old story. stuff gets silly. Odysseus was still my favorite he's always my guy. Anyway rest of my thoughts under the cut
I think I liked the perspective of Patroclus a really normal guy next to the warrior of the ages. One pov of a boy unsure of his place in the world surrounded by men older and claiming to be wiser and his godly boytoy.
Tumblr media
this personally made me cackle. Patroclus is that oh my god get him some brown contacts please meme.
The myths were actually pretty good. I like how vague they were about Patroclus's mother there are like six different women in history claimed to be her it's really Patroclus's paternal ancestors that matter.
I think it's genuinely a major issue with the plot that Patroclus knew of the prophecy and still acted in accordance to Homeric Legend. I just think he should have found out right before but too late when they're in Troy already perhaps in an angry scorn from Thetis about he'll lose too.
Like you I also thought it was stupid as fuck how Patroclus was a totally useless twink. Didn't even know about legendary Myrmidons the fighting force named after his great grandfather mind you. The mythic ant stuff is literally his own family history.
Achilles being so nervous about the war only to fall into it so easily. Like a god finding their domain he was born for it. I really enjoyed the nitty gritty of war planning too. Him getting Achilles dressed the lips being the only part of him still soft. That was awesome why is that no quoted more. Achilles climbing onto Patroclus covered in blood like god that scene is going to be in my head on a loop. There is so much to it. Patroclus knowing him by scent and touch alone but what creature has come to wake him? Achilles so proud of what he's done seeing the revulsion in his lover who was so sure nothing Achilles could do would revolt him.
There could have for sure been so much more to a much more sensitive Patroclus being unable to love Achilles anymore and that's why Achilles stops fighting until Patroclus realizes he can't hold back his demigod lover from greatness. Taking the book in a radical direction but alas.
Brisies was very well done I appreciated her character a lot. I think it was a very good choice to expand on her mythos and remove a lot of the violence. People often read myths and go oh so he raped her when that's either not stated in the text/not needed to include other than their fetishes driving them.
ALSO so fucking annoying Patroclus doesn't die because he's no good at fighting he dies because Hector is Better. Hector is the sole reason the Acheans struggled. He was the Trojan Achilles idk how that point got turned into well Patroclus could barely hold a spear tee hee. Spending the whole book being like Patroclus can't fight ooh one of Achilles's generals is useless. To then be like jk as in accordance with the Iliad he's really good and killed a bunch of people is actually bad writing sorry. I did giggle at Apollo just fucking with him knocking him off the wall all pretty like just twirling his perfect hair.
Turning Troilus the son of Apollo who Achilles chased down tried to rape and then beheaded in the temple of Apollo leaving his mutilated body for his father to die and therefore the reason Apollo kills him into a random death cause the boy was an idiot. Like Troilus literally the Greek representation of losing a young son to unjust murder. Well okay then...
Thetis raising Achilles's son here is so perfect because that boy is rancid. He saw Agememnon and said I could do worse watch I'll go kill Hector's baby just for fun. And they really delivered on what a piece of fucking shit he was.
Thetis giving in, in the end was really good. Liked it
Overall I think the book was really good. I approached it from the knowledge this is taking thousands of years of myths and giving it to the perspective of a side character and I think it delivered.

Dean “violently kicked a duffel bags” is such an exaggeration. He kicked a duffel bag so what? He has a right to be mad, people act like he hit her. Also he’s a teenage boy who’s still learning how to handle relationships. Calling him an abuser is a leap.
first of all if you’re celebrating Christmas so i wish you an happy holiday!
now, shall we begin why dean is, in fact, an abusive piece of shit?
look, i didn’t made those gifset but even if i was, i would’ve still think that dean is an abusive piece of shit. and “he was a teenager boy” isn’t an excuse when he, an adult, cheat on his wife with his ex… girlfriend in her room while leading her to believe they broke up?
everything he did from the beginning is just wrong. by kissing her in their… what? third interaction ever in a public place, mind you? how is that normal? by building her a car and than dump her because she didn’t said i love you back? that’s not normal behavior.
the amount of times he calls, the amount of letters he sent in s3 while she’s in washington. his reaction to everything, really, is not normal.
there’s a way to react to anything, and the fact that rory had to write him a letter to explain what was going on because she was afraid of his reaction and the fact that he kicking the bag in public and yes, could’ve hurt rory as well him says a lot about him as a person.
now that being said i would also add that he has every right to be angry. hell, i’ll be angry if i’ll ever build a car and than it got destroyed but also, i would put my anger aside because who cares about the car while considering the fact that the person that i loved got into a car accident. it wasn’t rory or jess fault.
it was a car accident. there was something on the road, jess didn’t want to hurt it and so they got into a car accident.
it was a car accident and he could’ve react way better and not by kicking a bag on the floor because he got furious that the car broke down or something.
the way he’s always around in the beginning of jess and rory relationship, always trying to pick up fight with jess… he thinks he owns rory, dude. you broke up with her in a public place for everyone to see! you had no dignity to break up with her behind closed doors.
and that’s the thing, he always twists it around so he is the victim in every situation and not, in fact, rory. that been yelled at her house and paris, paris, had to step in and protect her.
the way rory literally had a whole panic attack about losing this bracelet he made her, as though she was so afraid to tell him she lost it. like how is that normal? a normal person would just say “it’s okay, stuff like that happen. i’ll make you a new one”
one of my favorite compression is jess reaction to rory hanging out with dean at miss patty show thing VS dean reaction to rory hanging around Jess.
jess doesn’t yell about it, or making a scene, or making rory feel like she had to hide things from him. he just asks her to tell him about it next time so he won’t read it on elsewhere and then he… moves on. like a normal boyfriend should. her entire relationship with dean is like walking around eggs being afraid he’ll get mad!
the fact that rory needs reassurance that jess doesn’t mad at her at the festival episode just shows how badly dean treated her. if she was still with dean, he would’ve yelled already, making a whole scene about how rory dares to hangs around people who isn’t him, as he did in 2x13. it wasn’t rory’s fault jess bought the basket, yet dean make it her fault and turns it around her “you’re hurting me now” (making her feel guilty about the whole thing in the first place) instead of just respecting the fact that there are stuff in this town that doesn’t have nothing to do with him.
jess had more money. the whole point of the whole thing was you have more money, you buy the basket, you take the girl who made the basket to lunch. jess didn’t forced rory to go with him, jess didn’t do anything wrong, he did exactly what everyone else did.
like correct me if i’m wrong but lorelai had to drug out luke to buy her basket so he could take her to lunch and yet, it’s rory’s fault that jess bought her basket.
if I remember correctly jackson also didn’t bought sookie’s basket for some reason and had to buy it from the person who bought it in the first place.
but regardless, you know what the first thing dean does when rory goes with jess? he goes to cry to lorelai about it, to spin it on rory, that rory would be the blame here and not, idk, him for not letting this go.
when rory comes back from it, actually happy and having a good time, lorelai takes dean’s side because dean made her to believe that it is all jess / jess and rory fault.
he blames his reaction and his behavior on her.
so it’s not, “he was a teenager boy he kicked a bag”, it’s more complicated and dean is an abusive piece of shit and that’s the hill i would die on.

Okay … so I finally finished rewatching the first 35 episodes and finished watching the last couple of episodes of TTEOTM.
(Kinda a long post which turned into somewhat of a review+opinion+speculation+theory?)
I still don’t like the ending of the drama but maybe it’s because I’ve had time to sit on and prepare for it or maybe I’d gotten into it already ready to write a fix-it fic for it, but I wasn’t as upset with the actual ending as I thought I would be?
Or maybe it’s because I actually feel that there were enough evidence that it will be a happy ending with time but they just didn’t show it in the actual drama itself (whether it’s for censorship reasons or because “not enough time”, who knows?) The editing for the last episode still left much to be desired, but anyhow, more under the cut to avoid spoiling things for people who haven’t watched it yet.
Possibility for HE
The drama establishes multiple times, as long as there are sins in the world, the Devil God will not be destroyed.
It does not say, the Devil God will not be destroyed unless the All-in Distress Way is not destroyed.
The original Devil God literally says to TTJ, “You are the Devil God now.”
You can’t possibly tell me that just because the Devil God died, there’s no more sins in the world.
Also, the evil bone destroyed belonged to the original Devil God. But TTJ still had the divine essence given to him by YXW, so we can even speculate that this is synonymous to the “evil bone” for Devil God!TTJ. Except now, he’s no longer a “normal” Devil God who wants to destroy the world, but an “abnormal” Devil God who wants to protect the world.
And as I’ve seen on a YouTube video (I seriously don’t remember where; it might’ve been Discord, too, but I think it’s YouTube?), someone pointed out a very important fact: The most important factor in determining if a person/god/demon is dead in this drama is whether their primordial soul is destroyed. When Devil God!TTJ talked to LSS about whether people will remember their story, he specifically said “after our human bodies have disappeared” when he could’ve easily said “after our souls are destroyed and dispersed”. Like we’ve literally seen Ming Ye at the brink of death multiple times but as long as his soul isn’t completely gone, he still comes back.
Taking all of this into consideration, it makes sense for TTJ to be able to come back. Maybe not in the same body and nobody knows how long it will take (I mean, it took the original Devil God 10,000 years to do so), but it’s totally possible that he’ll come back in a different body.
Rant+sorta review+opinion
I’m actually angrier at the production for the quality of the whole last episode than the ending itself. It’s like eating a Michelin meal and then someone messes up the last course. Is it still edible? Sure, but it left much to be desired.
I have a feeling the whole of episode 40 wasn’t a complete total disaster because it’s Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu acting and not somebody else. These two can act out a script made up of gibberish and make it look interesting. These are facts and not opinions :P . #mypostmyrules
I mean, yeah, there were some plot holes, inconsistencies, and problems throughout the whole drama (yes, Serp enjoyed something, but that doesn’t stop her from complaining about and pointing out that there’s something wrong with it. What do you mean “Serp isn’t perfect either”? :P), and things felt rushed already for episode 36-39, but there were still some epic scenes in those episodes.
On the other hand, episode 40 … made me want to sic Bitchchang and Di Mian on the editing crew :).
Yeah, yeah, yeah, they didn’t have enough episodes, there was censorship, blah blah blah. But they also had choices and they chose to spend almost a whole episode for the fight between Ming Ye and original Devil God. And they dedicated more time to Ken and Bitchchang.
I don’t feel like forgiving them for the first and I can’t forgive them for the second.
But for the rest of the drama? Despite some complaints I might have, I still definitely enjoyed most of the ride.

Since you started Arcane I gotta ask. I think you mentioned about Powder not reacting accordingly to her family death from the bomb... on that scene she was sorry to Vi she messed up not that she killed their father basically. Vi reacted "normally" but Powder didn't show any remorse.
Do you think she became numb to "death" since she witnessed it from a young age with her parents on the bridge? Vi was a bit older so maybe she conceptualized it already. Since then it's clear they faced death many times around, Zaun is harsh environment/upbringing after all, what's horrible to us is average there. I think she may have became a sociopath from it. Vi as well to an extent but only to strangers, death of close ones will still affect her, Jinx cares if only Vi dies tho (well not just her. Actually I'd add more to that but it'll be spoilers until u finish so I'll wait)
So first: I won't be finishing Arcane. That sucks but at least until I can bury my own trauma from my brother, I just can't have that casting a shadow over it. It'll make it hard for me to enjoy any of it, let alone review it properly.
However, I actually want to rebuff this analysis of how Powder reacts and try and be a bit fairer myself. First: She does technically react to her father's death but she never apologizes. She instead acts like a small, frightened child. She starts shutting down, wanting to be assured things will be okay. That things are okay. It's a very classic response to this sort of trauma, not helped by the fact that, as someone else pointed out, Vi had taught her to react to things with violence but now violence was getting her in trouble.
That is the counterpoint though, isn't it? Milo says in the first episode that Vi was twice the person Powder was and I kind of have to wonder if that meant she actually, you know... Was a member of Zaun. Was a member of the violence and trouble. Even worse when you remember that while they're young, Powder still looks at least 5 during the battle at the bridge that claimed their parents. That KILLED their PARENTS. And she isn't breaking down or running from the scary man who just murdered an enforcer in that scene.
And the rest of the first three episodes are warring with itself over how to write Powder. Is she a ruthless child of Zaun, out for blood and to make a name for herself? The sort that would have absolutely godlike aim even at her age, at the point where she can far surpass others who are years older than her with ease? All while having a cold, expressionless face until she's done with her task? Or is she the innocent? The one who can only run and who seems damn near traumatized by the sight of just a street brawl happening in front of her? The noise fades out and echoes while things go into more slow mo like most media does to show something horrifying, which the street fight in episode 1 seems to supposed to be for Powder, but like... Is that REALLY the first street fight she's seen? Milo even says she needs to take a punch like she's literally never been hit, which does have the horror of Vi being the first person to hit her but this is the same person who made an explosive monkey filled with a material she knew could do some REAL damage to people and property.
It's still done well enough that Powder isn't awful. The pain of the last scenes of episode 3 are still mostly earned and I even admitted in my original review that I had to recognize that I had a problem due to personal elements. After all, characters can be multifaceted, have different sides to them, etc. like that... But that works a lot better for adults like Vander who have had the life experience to turn one side on and one side off. Even then, you still see a core of a person in there.
Meanwhile, Powder is fighting between the innocent little girl who's meant to die and her champion form, Jinx, and those parts to me are just a bit too incongruous. A little too at odds without a bit more smoothing out. It's SO close to being right though that I do want to cut it more slack than I originally did.
