People jump to be either offended or defensive when talking about this so Im putting that cw there. Practice self defence. if you dont wanna read this and you click through, yeah thats not my problem.

So this is about Simon and Betty, and regarding the vague setting around their professional relationship, namely that Simon is shown giving a guest lecture and Betty is part of the class that he is lecturing to

But the setting doesn't pin down the specifics - like is he a visiting researcher, how long is he affiliated with the school, etc. That said, given this:

I've been tooting some thoughts around and here's what I find funny

How unappealing this relationship could be to general fans of the Teacher-Student fantasy.

My psuedo-analysis from being a fandom oldie is that usually this fantasy caters to the idea of having the teacher, usually the man, devote himself to caring for and promoting the student, usually the woman. And like fantasies don't need to make sense? But I'm thinking that in a society where women are always the nurturers, portraying a relationship where the man is dedicated to nurturing the growth of the woman - well that's novel. It focuses on the woman's character arc - she's the main character! - and all the ways the man supports her into becoming an accomplished, successful professional in whatever field they're in.

Do you see where I'm going here?

Simon and Betty fulfill none of that.

Straight off the bat, Betty introduces herself by teaching Simon something. She was never positioning herself as someone who wanted to learn from Simon, and often assists him. And right there? Already breaking the Teacher-Student fantasy mold.

Like the usual template for this fantasy would actually emphasize the power imbalance between the teacher and the student. The teacher knows everything. The teacher has the most responsibility and the most authority. If the student steps out of line, the teacher is supposed to provide discipline.

If it's not one of the saucier takes of the fantasy which revels in the taboo, the teacher-student romantic plotline usually center around overcoming that power imbalance. (exceptions of course exist)

And I think about how... if Simon was just less of a pushover, Simon and Betty would have followed the usual template for a teacher-student fantasy. And they would have been actually better off that way?

Let's go back to the part where I mentioned that a teacher-student dynamic would have emphasized the power imbalance, specifically if the student acts out, the teacher provides disciplinary measures. You know what Simon does? Not that!

Oh he started to. If he had exercised his authority better, he would have continued his lecture to Betty about leaving love letters to university staff out in the open for literally anybody to see. She left it in a book in the library!!! What if Simon didn't see it first?

And you know, the whole enforcing boundaries thing. He was radio silent for two (?) weeks after their trip, and he was willing to keep things professional. Betty leaves him one love letter and he goes running. Which in hindsight, that's actually uncharacteristic for staid, fastidious Petrikov. He makes the decision to confess the moment she confesses first. Like! Boundaries, gone. Wrist, snatched. Relationship, doomed.

Which is primarily the point in the whole Betty and Simon relationship. Simon treated her as an equal when he should have been aware that their relationship was never equal to begin with - not with the way Betty kept putting him on a pedestal. It's a matter of perspective and professionalism, yada yada blah blah.

TL;DR: Simon did not get the memo that he was in a teacher-student romance plotline. Hell, even if it was the saucier taboo take, that would still mean he was aware of the imbalance between him and Betty.

He was living a college AU, where they had a meet cute as collegues. She was in a celebrity AU, where she's a stan that managed to score a trip with her idol. They were never on the same page.

36. do you base your characters of real people or not? If so, tell us about one.

this is a bit of a tricky question with fic, but of course the answer remains ultimately yes -- bc all those little details that don't exist in the original text need to come from somewhere, and it turns out that you can flesh out existing characters quite a bit in a way that still feels IC with details from your mom or bestie (cough) or that one waiter at that restaurant. With OCs, who are usually also NPCs, it's also best practice as far as I'm concerned to plagiarize wholesale from real life -- they don't really matter except as flavor or to act as a cog in the machinery of how the scene moves forward, so you might as well make it easy on yourself AND possibly get a tiny inside joke with yourself, and also they just naturally are believable because they're real. Trying to come up with someone Distinctive and Wacky almost always reads false, whereas if you just use a real human who is distinctive and wacky au naturel they just... work. Shout-out to the inclusion in one of my stories of that one Beowulf professor who looks and acts like Santa. (I wonder if he's still with us?) Making that guy up would be stupid and you'd be tempted to include Fun Details to color him in; as is he just. Exists. Much better.

62. what’s the weirdest reason you’ve ever shipped something?

I thiiiink I can say that my shipping reasons are almost never because something would be Hot (unless I'm lying, but I don't think I am), so I guess in the larger fic context that might be weird in itself. Off the top of my head weird is a big ask. I ship Sam/Eileen specifically in the sense that I want her to be really into it and I want Sam to think that he's into it and then realize very quickly that, oh yeah, he's never actually fully committed to a relationship and what was he thinking, and so they fuck once and then he takes a call from Dean practically before he's wiped off and Eileen realizes with sinking disappointment and humiliation that she's never ever going to measure up. Like -- the reason I ship it is out of weird spite, haha. That's pretty bad, isn't it. I also ship Paul/Jessica from Dune basically purely out of that one scene where they first climb into their stillsuits in the first movie, not because I actually want to but because they are so fucking weird about it, and what is shipping really but listening to the weird-ass notes that canon itself drops and going "...wait, you what?"

93. do you hear other people’s writing styles when they talk?

SUPER no. I mean for a given value of talk. I am lucky enough to have some writer-buds and the way they communicate in text hardly matches up at all to the stuff they put out, which I find really interesting. I've been told that I talk a little how I write but of course that depends on the fandom and the mood of the story -- like, Supernatural-from-Dean's-POV-the-way-I-write-it tends to be really naturalistic and straightforward and he even drops a lot of the same references I would (seriously, Dean would've gotten along with the z fam), so that just feels like--transcribing. But, you know, The Australian doesn't work that way, nor does The Ornithologist. (Last time I read narrative from The School was a long time ago but I think that was a little closer? We'd have to think about it.) I wonder if that's a deliberate choice from people? I wonder further if literally writing more volume of words might affect how you communicate non-narratively. e.g. David Sedaris (for this week's mild obsession) certainly talks how he writes, but which came first? Conundrums.

💛 Yellow: Do you ever alter, highlight, or de-emphasize certain canonical traits in a character? If so, why and describe how.

Sure! I write a lot of AUs and you have to tweak here and there to make the story work. Now I don't want to look at my earlier work because I now consider it to be completely OOC, especially where Valtor is concerned. But in more recent fics there are two trends concerning how I write him.

First of all, I tend to make him less overpowered. He is still super powerful and formidable but I often emphasize the fact that security measures can and will be an obstacle even to him (usually by making Griffin necessary to the equation or hinting he has to strategize hard to pull it off alone). It's important to me that I don't let him accomplish things too easily because that does a disservice to both him and whoever he's up against. His cunning and power shine brightest when they're challenged at least a little and besides, what kind of story would it be if he can do anything without breaking a sweat? Where are the stakes? Where's the suspense? That's just not how you write a good story.

The second thing I do is to include him breaking his composure sometimes. I think that canon is particularly egregious in failing to keep his power in check which in turn allows him to keep too much composure most of the time and that leads to a misinterpretation of his character. He is only calm and collected when he's fully in control of the situation or can easily spin it to his advantage. The moment a real problem arises, he loses his temper which... happened about 3 times on the show because nothing can challenge him. It's just not interesting. You can make a character that's powerful as hell and still has to face hurdles. It just doesn't make sense that everything works so well for him until it doesn't. It's inconsistent with the backstory as well.

🤍 White: What's a fanfic scenario or idea you'd like someone else to write so that you can read it?

This is such an ironic answer because I started outlining this for the sole purpose of writing a better witch x witch hunter story after a book annoyed me with its execution. To say I'd like someone else to write it completely defeats the purpose but at this point I have so many more ideas that have a hold on my mind that this is hardly on the list of priorities. Wouldn't mind reading it though if someone could write it for me and write it well.

If it's unclear, the answer is the witch x witch hunter AU (more info in the link). I liked the story at the time but, again, Valtor is OOC and there are structural problems with it. It could work with this structure but it doesn't feel optimal and, frankly, even if I fixed the structure, I'd have no time to write this. Which is a shame because I still think the story has a lot of potential and I do have that half a notebook of notes on it that are going to waste (I might post those as bullet points some time). It's really painful to look at something that you see as full of potential and have to throw it away so it'd be great if someone could take this off my hands so I can read it but not write it.

🤎 Brown: How did you decide to write (or why are you writing) a certain fanfic? (Asker, feel free to choose a specific story you're curious about. You can also let the answerer choose the story.)

First of all, thank you so much for asking about Fallen Love! It is my baby and I am so in love with how much of a dysfunctional disaster Griffin and Valtor are; I cannot look away from it!

I swear to god, I haven't abandoned this story! I think about it every day and I have made some progress on chapter 2 (as well as on the outline for the other chapters, which have definitely grown in number significantly). I just want it to be good and that's making things go agonizingly slowly. No, really, I am in literal pain but I'm going to stick with it no matter what. It doesn't just live in my head rent-free, it lives in my bones!

Now to answer the actual question - I can't remember the exact line of thought but I know I went "Hey, what if Valtor won the war and he has everything he wanted including Griffin but she's moping so much about losing Faragonda that it's really driving him up the wall?" It has changed a lot since then and is now more about Griffin and Valtor's broken relationship (hence the title) and, hopefully, about them taking responsibility for the actions that led to this point. Not to imply that things will get better because they won't really but the idea is to put all cards on the table and figure out how to proceed when they can't get rid of their mutual obsession with each other. Plus, I love the chaotic energy of them trying to outwit each other and pulling out all the stops when it comes to getting what they want. The upside (and downside) of being this obsessed with each other is that they both believe they can pull any stunt they want and the other will just have to deal with it. In a way they're both desperate to be proven wrong about that and be saved from the madness that is their relationship but they would also kill anyone and destroy anything trying to come between them. They're just stable that way.

This story has given me brain rot. It is such a perfect opportunity to look into where things went wrong for them and bring it back to basics. It's just the two of them! There are other characters in the story but there's no one that can come between them. It makes them face the fact that everything they did to each other was because of them and they can't blame anyone else. And with all of their other goals more or less put aside, there are no distractions to keep them from examining their relationship aka really bad news for them. But hey, they also get to be completely unhinged in every way so it should be a great show!

this got so long and out of hand but i fucking LOVE this song and this au so i had to ramble about how perfect the lyrics are. under cut for length!!! (As usual disclaimer that this is only MY version of the au. there are loads of other ways it relates :D)

Wake up, say good morning to that sleepy person lying next to you. If there's no one there, then there's no one there, but at least the war is over.

Literally the beginning of the No Nuke canon divergence. In my version, the nuke happens but only injures Dream and Punz, and Tommy drags Dream back to his house where he wakes up injured, disorientated, and alone. He'd grown used to waking up with Punz nearby, but things are different now. The war is... if not over, then it's changed. He doesn't have to fight for a goal he can't bring himself to understand. Tommy has his back - Dream tries to take relief in this, but can't help but feel so lonely.

It's us, yes, we're back again, here to see you through 'til the day's end. And if the night comes, and the night will come, well at least the war is over.

Tommy and Dream acclimatizing to their new lives. The old status-quo has been completely uprooted, and it's hard to scramble for a sense of normalcy with (for Tommy) your worst enemy and (for Dream) someone you've convinced yourself is a stupid kid who can be played like a pawn. They fight, they argue, they shout about the past and don't talk about the future, but despite this, they're... together. They have the same goal, and, unable to contact anyone else, they have to rely on each other. No matter what happens.

Lift you head and look out the window. Stay that way for the rest of the day and watch the time go.

Works for both of them, honestly. Works for anyone central in this AU; Dream, Tommy, Punz. All of them have lost something. All of them are fighting towards something. Punz reminisces on what he and Dream had, while Tommy misses his friends, his family. Wilbur is gone, Techno is inaccessible in the Syndicate since the Egg has taken over after the Nuke. Tubbo is somewhere - Tommy doesn't know where. And Dream's whole ideology and life has been reshaped around the nuke, and he has no idea how things ended up like this. He finds himself pressed against the one grimy window of Tommy's house, staring out at the wreck of the server, wondering where everything went wrong. He doesn't ever really find his answer.

Listen, the birds sing. Listen, the bells ring.

Despite everything they've lost, though, Dream and Tommy don't lose hope!!! Tommy's optimism rubs off on Dream, and Dream's sheer stubbornness rubs off on Tommy. They remind each other that the server can be fixed. It can be.

All the living are dead, and the dead are all living. The war is over, and we are beginning.

Wilbur is gone, living his life somewhere new. Tommy isn't certain he's not dead. Wilbur is gone, Schlatt is gone, Ranboo is gone, and as time passes, most characters - Dream, Tommy, Punz, Tubbo, Quackity, Bad, etc - begin to feel like they might be dead themselves. It's hard to feel like they're alive when this is their reality - but, all of them remind themselves, the war is over. They're doing cleanup now. This is them, in their own, sometimes wrong ways: cleaning up the server, trying to fix things. Fix everything. For Bad and Punz, that's with the Egg. For Tubbo and Quackity, it's about making sure their respective groups of Snowchester and Las Nevadas thrive amongst the hellscape of the server. For Dream and Tommy, it's trying to restore the server back to the way it used to be. Because all of them love the server - they don't want it gone. They don't.

We won, or we think we did. When you went away, you were just a kid. And if you lost it all, and you've lost it, well, we'll still be there, when your war is over.

This again could apply to anyone. They were just kids when this started - Tommy was fifteen, Dream and Punz barely nineteen, twenty. And it links to Dream's eventual breakdown while living / working with Tommy, that has been building up since the initial nuke disaster. He's lost everything, it feels like, everything he's gone through - the prison, the wars, the destruction, the plan, everything - has been for nothing. He mourns the person he was, is terrified of the person he has become. He doesn't see a way for this to end without his death, but he's realized that, for the first time in a long, long time, he wants to live. He wants to be happy again.

Lift your head and look out the window. Stay that way for the rest of the day and watch the time go. Listen, the birds sing.

Gradually, things get desperate in Tommy's house. Supplies are running out, tensions are fraught, they can barely go scouting anymore because of the Egg and how much it's spread over the whole shelter. Time is passing by quickly, and they need a solution. They need one fast. Punz loiters outside, and Dream refuses to give into him. And then-

Listen, the bells ring. All the living are dead, and the dead are all living. The war is over and we are beginning-

They hear a bell. A familiar one. They've run from Tommy's house and they're injured, exhausted, muddy, but the Syndicate, heavily fortified and defended, comes into view, and Techno is ringing a bell as the gates open for them. They're not dead! And they're welcoming them in!! For the first time in a long time, Tommy and Dream are hopeful. They might just be able to do this.

Here it comes, here comes the first day...

If this was an animatic, there would be a shot of all the main factions / characters preparing for the final fight, which happens again at the prison. This time, there's a sense of hope, almost. They're going to fix this, or they're going to die trying.

(And they do fix it. And they don't die. And the sun rises pale and weak the next morning, and Tommy, Dream, and Punz watch it together.)

(The first day of rebuilding the server is beautiful, fragile. But it's the first day of many, and they're going to be okay.)

bestie do you have a favorite Mike angst headcanon that you've written (or just come up with but not yet incorporated into a fic)?

A favorite Mike angst headcanon? Hmm. I don't have a particular one that I always go to (besides the obvious mess that is how Mike reacts to Evan's bite).

Although, in my New Body AU, I've thought a lot about different ways to provide angst to Michael's character, like making sure he's thoroughly traumatized by every incident happening in Freddy's once Evan gets bit. A kid goes missing? Mike somehow makes it his fault. A security guard is murdered by the animatronics? Mike's fault.

The bite is quite a mess in this AU, actually. Mike was being constantly bullied into doing whatever these other kids wanted (not to mention the abuse he takes from his mother), and so when Fredbear bites down, Mike does everything in his power to get his brother out alive. He succeeds, but there's that lasting guilt as he sits in his hospital bed. His father is in and out, checking on him before going to sit with Evan, and Elizabeth seems almost excited that he nearly killed Evan. It doesn't sit well, and things get worse when he actually gets home.

This is the AU where Mike murders his mom, and since that happens within the same month as the actual bite, Mike really starts to believe that he's a monster. He nearly killed his brother, and he quite literally caused his mother to fall and die, so his belief is well-reasoned at this point. And his best friend is nowhere to be found (courtesy of the fact that she died three years prior and is currently being rebuilt by his father and Henry), so she can't comfort him.

Mike has nightmares about every member of his family dying from now on. He sees Evan's limp corpse on the floor of that show stage, unmoving no matter how hard Mike cries. He sees the broken body of his father on the kitchen floor, having fallen because Mike forgot to clean up some kind of mess. He sees Elizabeth, dead at the bottom of the first floor stairs because he'd jokingly pushed her, and she was too small to catch herself (Mike is 8 years older than Elizabeth in this AU).

When the children start going missing, Mike sees their corpses in his mind too. He gets this idea that he should've prevented it, believing that everything was his fault. When the security guards start dying, Mike assumes they're taking the job too seriously, and they're going after the kidnapper, but something gets in the way. Mike irrationally believes that everything is his fault.

When Jeremy gets bit, it takes a big toll on him. Mike feels guilty for not being there, instead out celebrating Evan's 15th birthday. He suspects that someone tampered with the animatronics during that week he was gone, and he can't prove it. Scott gives him an employee to train, and he tells Mike to get over it. There was nothing he could've done. Mike doesn't believe that, so he carries on.

The location finally closes, and Mike spends most of his spare time at the hospital with Jeremy, guilty about the fact that the poor man lost an eye to Chica. He'll live, sure, but just like Evan, Mike can't let it go.

He contemplates dying constantly, and Evan's the only one who ever seems to get through to him. Evan's not mad about the bite. He knows it was an accident, and nothing would've happened (in his mind anyway. Oops, added Evan angst) if he had just trusted Mike to get him out again. Sure, it would've been terrifying, but Evan had deactivated the safety lever and gotten water into Fredbear's jaw, so really he blames himself for panicking.

Evan's nightmares have evolved during this time, and he can rarely sleep without someone else in the room anymore. Mike still feels guilty, and he's the one who stays with Evan during those nightmares. Their father has gone missing by this point, and Mike decides that the only things that matter now are his younger siblings.

When Freddy's reopens, Mike is livid. He still has a job with the company, and he works his night shifts the same way, except there's an added issue. Scott says the Classic animatronics are more sensitive than even the Toys had been, so Mike makes sure to get to work half an hour before his shift, to get Cassidy out of the building before midnight.

He ends up faking his death one night after the animatronics can't quite seem to kill him. Cassidy had been locked in there with him, and the animatronics got much more murderous for some odd reason (more on that when I write more of the actual excerpts). Mike vanishes with only a torn uniform and a massive pool of blood to indicate that he'd even gone to work that night.

He believes it's for the best that everyone thinks he's dead.

Now, this whole thing is getting really long (sorry about the long rambling about the New Body AU), so I'm just going to outright say it. One of Mike's worst nightmares comes true when he ends up trying to stop the murders at Freddy's. Permanently. Evan turns out to be the one member of his family that he did not kill, and it nearly destroys him.

To properly answer your question, I love to give Michael extreme guilt after Evan's bite. I don't always let Evan live (in fact I usually don't), but even in cases where it's not Mike's fault, he still blames himself. Michael always turns himself into that self-sacrificing guy who'd do anything for his remaining family and the missing kids. Until he realizes the true horrors of what his father does, that is. Maybe someday I'll explore the possibility of Mike specifically becoming a killer like his father, but who knows? The uneasy alliance with the missing kids to make sure nobody dies again (besides himself, of course), has so much angst potential, especially when I add Cassidy into the mix. She's my stand-in, since I always fail to write siblings that cannot forgive each other for anything.

once again Comparing/Crossing over ROTTMNT with Something Else™. Today I bring you Fire Emblem Fates Rottmnt ! I'm thinking abt this as if it were an AU and the turtles take up the royal childrens' places. This is gonna be long, TLDR at the end.

First obv is deciding which side they're on and I do that by basing their personalities off of the other characters. So I was thinking Nohr. I think Hoshido would be a good fit for the sake of "Being The Good Guys" and Karai would make a great Mikoto, but the 4 siblings just. don't fit for the Rise Siblings, I don't think. Ryoma for Raph MAYBe works? Takumi for Leo or Donnie is like. Alright. I can't see Hinoka being anyone and Sakura is way too shy and (for lack of a better word) weak ? And I think I'd want April to be Corrin, only cuz I don't know who else Corrin could be.

I find the Nohr Siblings to be the best fit. Xander as Raph, alright I can see some differences but mainly I think it works. Camilla as Leo I think it alright. They're both laid back but deadly and. Look, they're both the face people. Kind of. Camilla is definitely self aware though. Leo as Donnie ??? literally a perfect match idc. I think it's a little funny that Leo doesn't fit Leo but oh well. Mikey for Elise also works really well I think, very friendly & the sunshine in everyone else's lives.

I have no idea who the Hoshido Siblings would be then but that's alright they don't matter here ..!! Azura I have /some/ thoughts for. My first was she's Venus de Milo (i know not rottmnt technically) but she could also just be Big Mama's Assistant since I feel like they're definitely supposed to be a turtle. I also have never read or seen anything where Venus was in so maybe their personalities don't fit at all. My second thought was Casey Jr. I don't have much to explain besides that I just . it makes sense in my head ? Like we don't know that much of Casey jr to begin with and maybe he's more excitable than Azura but !! Really don't know who else would be her !!! Someone help me !!!

Ughhhhh okay I know Draxum would be King Garon and the Dragon Form thing would be like Kuroi Yuroi Draxum but FUCKKK YOU UU!!! Hes my babygirl and im really upset You're making me do this ,, thats messed up,,,,,,, im just a little boy,,,,, who likes draxum ,,,,,,,,, how could u

The rest of Nohr is like the foot clan ig idk, Iago would be like Foot Lieutenant , Hans is Foot Brute .. I want Cass to be SOMEone but mm I have no clue who? Rinkha seeeems kind of close imo but she's not on Nohr's side so it might not be fitting? idk

April as Corrin also doesn't seem exactly right (mostly to me just cuz Corrin's the third youngest, but April's the oldest in the show) But it could still work I think kind of. Alternatively Casey could be Corrin? Might be a better fit? Then maybe April could be Azura ,, same 1st letter of their names ,,, But I think April Corrin works alright (especially if Karai is Mikoto :3) Mainly cuz I don't think April for Azura works that well, they're pretty different

Maybe the purple dragons are hoshido? or idfk the mudd dogs,, I don't think there's any other Group that has at least 3 members (besides the cookie scout girls but erm)

TL;DR: They're the Nohr siblings (Xander Raph, Camilla Leo, Leo Donnie, Elise Mikey, Corrin April), Draxum is King Garon (begrudgingly) and Azura is either Venus de Milo/BM's Assistant or Casey Jr :3

Jeremy Heere: JFK. he's always been the loser in high school, hanging out with his only friend Van Gogh for the majority of it. He's had enough of the torture by senior year. Rich: Gandhi. He used to be like JFK, no friends, no girlfriend, nothing. Now he's rocking with a SQUIP. He's so cool! Right?

Squip: Ponce. JFK's childhood friend who died to litter a few years ago. The only one that J would ever take such crazy advice from. But he's never usually acting like this. (JFK has an arc where he has to realize this isn't the real ponce and he shouldn't listen to him)

Yes, Kalim might be the brightest version of the sun that ever existed but even he knows where to stop

So the first thing he does is trying to make you calm down

This includes a lot of laughing and some small talk

So when you feel comfortable enough he starts to simp

I mean, you are one of the greatest figures of his homeland so how can he not?

But at the same time, who isn't whipped for you in their world?

Not to mention that you being in the same room he is in is the stuff of his dreams

He knows that you can't relax immediately during the first meeting so he tries to meet you as often as possible

~ Mass Update ~

Mainly going into future plans and intents alongside ideas below cut.

Ton's of things I've in store this will prove difficult to vent it all out. But here we go... First off rehashing and appropriately learning to tag and organize things better on my blog. Each category will have their own corresponding content, I seek to bring or share. [Tales of Goldbrand] -- I intend this to carry a Compendium of all my writes soon that'll have everything neatly in-order including a glossary, so it'll have highlights of stories that even matter or the best stuff. I've written here for a very, long time, there's been many shifts. I want to make it more accessible. While coloring what matters for people who want to learn Captain or his Crew with less chapters. While also giving choice to find it all easily. This is essentially a step-above master-lists. I'll be doing that after the Saga I have going on, right now is done. [Captain] -- Will provide you strictly with Captain screenshots, gifs, photo-sets. This is still his blog despite the Crew thing's will sort of make this a scuffed Multi-Muse blog. I've few more things to edit and tag fix to get all his stuff though. [The Wild Crew] -- Afterwards this story is done Immortal Age Saga, It's something that I mainly wrote as a passion project within three days to get my warm-up process fixed. It's to allow me to get a feel for all his Crewmates and casts, in combat, in-general, to feel their presences. While also giving a bit of their backstories. At any point, I can go back and polish or tweak things in. They're NPC's but... not entirely. All will have their own 'Dreams' and their own 'Disapproval's' they have their own missions even. These things will factor eventually, they might set seeds, to betray or disagree with something, but that's all angst and more stories to be created, but overall, they'll probably always be Crew, eventually. -- I plan on making character-profile sheets of them and putting them in this Tab, it'll have their screenshots, their likes/dislikes. Some RP partners or people can also be shipped with them, but they'll all be monogamous and originally start off probably Pan. This allows them to figure out what they like on their own stories. I've always been someone who likes organic-flow. Although this one story contain all 16 characters or more, the rest will probably be shortened to a Squad of 4 and dispersed when on adventuring missions. Until I do a War Arc, that's my main goal to build too. [Roster] -- Will contain this Crew in just screen-sets dedicated to them, I'll probably randomly produce those. I've PC players among this Crew too. I may not be done either adding more, but this Crew is mainly built around Quality. Most pirate crew's mainly, have hundreds, thousands. Even Fleets. This Crew has personalities, monsters, people who are living life's that exist with piracy. He's an particular leader that had PC players the same way, he's had split-personality serial killers aboard, tribal chieftains, succubus, all sorts of various people once on a Crew. It's often an outcast style, pirates default are chaotic in nature, so this really isn't any different, it's a Fantasy version of it. There's humanization characters aboard too though, so this cast is really decked, everything and person is vital, they matter because they remind or covet something that others can draw upon. If ever played (Three Houses or Mass Effect / Dragon Age Origins) A lot of things like that are relatable too this structure and format. Which, Is something I want to be able to give when RPing. I want a genuine feel of this new world someone else's muse will be the main-character too. Depending on what's interacting everything they'll be scale appropriately to follow the genre they're in and environment even. [Aesthetics] -- Already explainable what you'll find here. [Asks] -- Same thing. [Prompts] -- Trivial things I was tagged too, I plan on compiling later. [Writing] -- Another alternatively to randomly go-down and it works right now. [Logs] -- Will have more individualistic master-lists and posts there, my poems from Sheik Sphere the Bard, etc.

Things of that nature, I'll probably add still. It's where a lot of my creative writing is summed. [Gems of Hydaelyn] -- My main #tag for other characters and artists, creationist. Lot of amazing people easily to find their zones or follow them optionally if you like. Ton's I intend to support and bolster, be a lot less unspoken. I'm never the type who's been strictly inclusive. But I'll do that when I've time to even explore the dash, I'm always still planning ahead with things and projects. [CKS] My original character-sheet it's outdated on something's but not too terrible. I'll give him polishing someday, I swear? [21+F-List] -- Just purely degenerate stuff of Captain. I'm a pirate blog. I will represent that with openness and furthermore. I'm never projecting you some false-image. I started off a smut-writer by stripping that, I no-longer represent the same aura and identity. But those are strictly his stuff and kinks, I'm effective in executing them but they're not all relatable to me OOC. This blog will always be 18+ containing crude or dark material sometimes, romantic things, this Captain is blunt, will literally put his cock on the table in conversations. Swearing and being censored would be too uncommon and displace most of him, but there's more about him then all this. [Other] -- I pay homage to a lot of characters, I originally am a Concept Designer. Which mean's I make characters and ideas like my addiction. Bad characters / villains or other little things I like to share in designs, I'll put there. Some villains might get little photo-sets, even if they died. Just cause I like their design, or maybe I'll give them an AU, where they won. When I've wrapped up things. [Collabs + Ships] -- Is a new project idea. This isn't going to be something limited too romantic only ships. It'll contain, platonic, romantic, friendships, rivals, frenemies, family, PC Crew, all ships. I am desperately working on improving my gif, screenshot, posing game so I can supply 'Screen Stories' this is not only a way to RP that's accessible with even people who are upon time-crunches from work, It gives visual-representation. To impactful stories shared with others and establish bonds. That are all-valid and impactful matter. Lot of people take a lot of their characters attributes into them and are them dialed up, I work with that and bit more, differently. I'm disconnected from my characters and they'll get hurt and injured and killed by me, that's my duty as their Author to give them conflicts and struggles. I'm their major antagonist, but that doesn't mean at-all, it's always SET that way. The characters I like to make have their own life, they live in this setting and are abide by it, they're often nothing, nobodies, and by the interacting with others, they slowly gradually building, more... Through emotional impacts, they alter, these are REAL people by all their beliefs. Each person they come in-contact with are legitimate and treated like that too. They've always impacted or given them insights to grow, or represent more. Otherwise it'd be criminally disrespectful if I allowed any emotional I felt OOC be the grudge to something IC. Captain in-particular is set on defying me. I cannot have that. ...But I can't stop him. He's met and encountered so many people and lived so many scenarios based on the actions of others, he's giving a chance right now to actually do things a lot further than impossible. The more people he meets and encounters, experiences, the more I lose. These stories are emotionally interactive where everything is a factor and adds to the dice, where the other people are the one who get to roll the dice for him, not me. That's something I want to color in. People range in emotions, they have their down's, ups, their own wholesome-grounding people, spending time with your favorite people, there's nothing more cherishing than that, being in your own comfort-zone or 'safe-space' these are all treasures that we live under, today. Contrary if what people assume of me, I'm not another 'blogger' that's came

before, who's wanting to force a harem, then constantly is bewildered when that falls to pieces cause of selfishness or a lack of communication, or the skeletons they have in their closets and beliefs they hid behind and swindled fooled everyone. I'm not looking to be popular or anything really, I just create stories and want to share in those, and I want to also boost others included, upward with me, especially those who make me. There's no ego in anything I do, this is purely love. I've never cared about being replicated or duplicated, I've had stalkers, I've gone through more then anyone would imagine, I've been used OOC and abused, just for my writing and cold-harshly told, i'd never amount to anything other then that or vice-versa. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Passion. That's all I got and am anymore. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Passion is the hardest thing to keep. It's something that can be stolen, quite effortlessly. Few words of discouragement, a bad negative representation, a lack of confidence, or small amount of time, there's many thing's that can put that flame out. Once you lose it. The difficulty to reattain is hundred-times harder than climbing any mountain for real. I've watched the greatest creators crumble from under the pressure, from beaten down by others. I watched many of them do it to themselves because they put a grand vision of needing validation of another and once lost, felt uncompelling to press onward. But passion also can be given BACK and drawn. It can be shown and encourage others, with a soft-triggering, that pushes them. That motivates, that constantly sticks to it. There are many that fuel me. If I ever quit, I let them down, I spit in the faces of people who're better than me in every-way. Or people who've came and given me their precious Time. That have given their character's or dedication to the abundant stories and community-driven things I've done. There's ONLY things you can do, create, give and provide. It cannot ever come to life without YOU. This is a fact. ...I swear, If you let your creativity soar, you'll be amazed by the heights you get. Constantly polish and learn and hone the best you, challenge yourself day after painstaking day, to draw better improvement on something, no matter how trivial or unfamiliar you are. You'll find a confidence only you can give yourself. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Future Plans --------------------------------------------------------------------- For me, I've got so much more stories to give and also explore, I might be taking up soon some other artists and more skilled people from community and hire them for some of my future writes, to up my game or cause something thing's can't be done in-game cause no background carries it. I also got a lot of-set up things and more angst stuff I want to practice, plus I'm adamantly on that grind to produce screen-sets with the intent's to some sort of improving daily. Additionally more people I'll be reaching out too soon for these collab's ideas and things. I look forward to shaking your hands, giving some hugs, show you my respect and admiration, then creating some enchanting stories and giving plots light. Hell School UA: The kids' costumes, can we talk about the kids' costumes? Like, even IF we ignore Hagakure's whole situation, just about every single one of the girls is wearing something with SO little coverage - look at Momo's! IT DOESN'T EVEN WORK WITH HER QUIRK DAMMIT, LOOK UP WHERE FAT DEPOSITS ON WOMEN ARE! Ururaka even SAYS her costume isn't what she asked for iirc, who MAKES these decisions and why weren't they consulting with the kids AND various other specialists? You want (tbc)

This got... very long so im gonna put it under a cut but yeah great points to follow:

PROTECTION, UTILITY, AND KEEPING _FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLDS FROM BEING SEXUALISED_ LONG BEFORE YOU WANT FUCKING MARKETABILITY! Aoyama gets a support item right from word go so he doesn't shoot his internal organs out through his laser, but Kaminari doesn't get a support item so he idk... doesn't give himself brain damage?! I know I've already said about Momo's costume, but... someone in UA's costume design section for FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLDS signed off on that. Had details of her quirk and everything (tbc)

No ruggedised ereaders built into a gauntlet, fucking TOME OF CHEMISTRY. If she was dropped in the USJ lake that book would've been USELESS. She isn't given like, high-calorie snacks in her utility belt to keep her going, she isn't given any protection WHATSOEVER that she could open parts of to Create, she isn't given open spots where a woman's body stores fat, she instead is given a leotard that barely covers her and places with virtually NO fat left uncovered 'for her quirk'! And like, (tbc)

teenagers have ENOUGH body image issues, and teenagers going into a highly public industry I can only IMAGINE, but seriously, if ANYONE in UA should be advised to be going on a high-calorie diet, it's Momo 'literally uses fat for her quirk, also apparently eats so little she was headhunted for modelling for her internship' Yaoyorozu. And she's just ONE example from UA of how the costumes are neither functional nor protective nor appropriate for fifteen-year-olds in the public eye! (tbc)

Like I said, just about all the girls are wearing something with too little coverage for either combat or cameras - if they want to dress like Midnight later, when they've got more experience with what the hero paparazzi and tabloids will do with that, more power to 'em, but these are FIRST-YEAR-STUDENTS - for that matter, did MIDNIGHT get a real choice in this? Or did she get FORCED into the role of '18+ hero' as a kid who WASN'T EVEN 18 YET and had to live with the costume section's bs (tbc)

ever since? The only one of the 1A girls who's decently covered is Ururaka, and they gave the girl who will be landing from heights all damn day HIGH HEELS! And have we seen those big boots and wrist things have ANY function? Compressed air or other thrusters so she can move while zero-geeing herself, shock absorbers for landing from heights, hell, full of anti-emetics? ANYTHING?! Or did the costume department's thoughts go '0g = vague astronaut theming, girl = pink + high heels, job done!'? tbc

Even when deployed to a frickin' WAR ZONE, virtually none of them get support items to either cover for weaknesses or build on strengths. Nothing to protect them if they take a hit, nothing to let them escape if they're in a situation their quirk isn't useful, nothing to boost their mobility if their quirk doesn't do that, or let them hit harder if their quirk isn't suitable, NOTHING. So you've got over-sexualised minors going into combat situations with inappropriate clothing and NO USEFUL GEAR

It just drives my little anxiety-driven plan-for-everything mind insane. I've had LEVEL ONE ROLEPLAYING CHARACTERS that were better prepared than UA and the HPSC seems to think their heroes and heroes-in-training need to be!

yeah there’s a reason i had Nemuri’s homeroom teacher say unequivocally why her costume was a bad idea in the age swap au. it certainly is protrayed as her own choice but that doesn’t mean anything when a *fifteen year old* is trying to market herself as an *18+ fantasy icon* what the heck... my thoughts can mostly be summed up in this:

“If you are on a job and get stabbed, you weren't safe. If you put on the domanatrix stunt for a kid- say that one in the alleyway wasn’t going to stab you- they are not capable of giving consent nor should you be asking. And if I let you go into a dangerous field wearing precarious stilettoes and nothing else to keep your from dying of attacks or explosions or bullets or fire or exposure or whatever God-awful tan lines this thing would give you, I wouldn’t be sane!”

but its not just her costume, its... all of them. Momo’s is bad, and she mentioned that the design she submitted showed more skin- i’m confident the one she gave was more like her protoype one, where her sides and back weren’t as constricted with fabric, instead of just relying on that horrid cleavege dip. Ochako literally tells us she didn’t want her costume as tight as is it, but she never gets to go in to fix it! She eventually decides to get grappling hooks *after* izuku inspires her with bw, why didn’t the SF inspire her to get some sort of jet pack??? Why didn’t Kaminari at least have chargers to recover from going braindead faster in his costume?????

thats it the shields are the only ones allowed to design costumes, ever.

I’m not your previous anon. What you said has me thinking of things and questioning the side I’m on. Until this fandom, I never shipped anyone together and was super canon-focused when reading/writing fic. But now I’m here and ship Buddie in fics. Canon Buddie would be cool, but it’s not something that I need to happen. But if it is, I see it as what has happened, happened (obviously) and it would be a ‘yes, AND’ validating both. With the WIPs I’m working on, I don’t feel I’m erasing parts of these characters, instead adding depth within canon (making it fanon)…except now I’m worried that I misunderstood things and am part of the problem.

I literally typed that post at my work desk in a hurry. It may not have been as clear as I'd have liked.

But none of that sounds like a problem to me. People can be super canon-focused or they can throw canon out the window. When it comes to fics, canon isn't super important.

There are no canon fanfics.

None.

Not one.

It doesn't matter if you focus on canon ships or not, no fanfiction is ever canon.

Most of my ships in the past haven't been canon. I do not care about that at ALL.

If people want to write AUs where things that happened didn't happen or if people want to write continuations taking things that happened into account, it's all good. Write about Buck being a 2000-year-old vampire, bruh. Do you!

The line gets blurred and crossed when you begin to think your fanon ideas are canon ideas even when explicitly contradicted by what we see on screen/read in the book/etc. When you insist something that isn't true is in fact true just because you want it to be. When you twist the narrative into something it isn't to support an idea.

Basically, the problems start when people are unable to understand that their fandom creations can just be fanon and they feel the need to insist it's canonically accurate when it's not.

Because then you start tripping over things.

The thing with Eddie was an example because there are a lot of people insisting that he is (or should be) canonically gay when the facts as we know them do not support that.

So, in the process, they're erasing an entire relationship that was extremely important to his character.

Writing that in a fic isn't the same thing. By nature, fics are fiction.

Ideas are ideas.

Headcanons are headcanons.

Fanon is fanon.

And canon shouldn't be twisted into something it isn't to support those things. People should just acknowledge that they're fanon ideas.

People are always going to view things differently and come to different conclusions about the same character or scene.

But we all know when someone has taken something completely out of context and turned it upside down on its head just because they want to be right.

Anyway, I'm babbling again! The point is, I think you're fine. Please don't stress over my random post. 😂

Jaken = Rin's Dad?

Okay, is this how a daughter treats their so-called father?

Most definitely not.

Rin and Jaken's relationship clearly screams of your typical sibling rivalry punctuated with cute and silly moments of playful bickering.

Yes, Jaken may technically be her main provider, but that doesn't necessarily equate to him being more of a father than Sesshomaru. If anything, he demonstrates more of a brotherly love towards her. As we all know, parents (which Sesshomaru embodies more based on real life patterns and parallels) will leave their older more capable children in charge of looking after their younger brothers and sisters. In this case, that would mean making Jaken responsible for watching over Rin and protecting her if need be. Ah-Un offers protection, too. Think of it as Jaken as the big brother and Ah-Un as the family dog who are babysitting while Sesshomaru as the parent of the household is away at work or taking care of business. I mean, they literally fit that description to a tee and I'm dying at the accuracy of it all! 🤣👌

[Quick! Someone write up a modern au where Sesshomaru finally gets out to have a nice date night but everything goes wrong in the most spectacular way. Like maybe Rin and Jaken catch a ride on Ah-Un to go spy!]

I recently revisited some episodes from The Final Act, and I couldn't believe how many moments like this there were where Rin got after Jaken or when she would "put him in his place" so to speak. Obviously, all of it is mostly harmless. I was only surprised by how often it occurred, not to mention how Jaken would just stand there and take it. Towards a supposed father figure, Rin's behavior is downright unacceptable. There's a certain level of respect a child is expected to show their parents/guardians, and that's just not what I'm witnessing here between them. Like at all.

Rather their dynamic has the nature of some sibling relationships like I mentioned above. So I really wish fans would stop pretending otherwise, because based on what we know of father-daughter relationships- healthy ones at least- they don't appear anything like what Jaken and Rin have. If you could please provide me other examples of where we've seen similar portrayals in fiction or in real life, then perhaps I can get on board.

Look, that doesn't have to mean that because Jaken isn't her father then Sesshomaru must be. They can both be her caretakers without necessarily filling that traditional father role. I'm just saying that if we're going to start assigning titles to characters, let's make sure we are accurate and truthful in our assessments. If you're going to label anyone Rin's dad, then it needs to be Sesshomaru. Jaken doesn't have precedence over him in terms of fatherly attributes, that just wouldn't make sense.

After all, this isn't about what you want to see, this is about what Rin very likely sees. It's safe to assume that she views Sesshomaru more like a father than she does Jaken. She knows she's safe with him (broadly speaking lol) and that he'll come for her no matter what. That sense of security and comfort is what a child seeks and what they should always feel in a parent's presence. She trusts and even idolizes him, just as a young and innocent child tends to do with their parents. At that age, parents are perfect and could do no wrong in their child's eyes. Idk about you, but this describes perfectly how Rin is around Sesshomaru.

Rin adores him and will follow him anywhere- yes, even into danger! That's what the innocence and unconditional love of a child will bring them to do if necessary. Fortunately, at the end of The Final Act we learn Sesshomaru takes Kaede's advice when he realizes that leaving Rin with her in the village is in her best interests. That way she'd be able to lead a more normal and safer life alongside other humans. Remember, Sessrin shippers, that doesn't mean he wasn't still a part of her life and didn't witness her become a young woman over the years right before his very eyes. Therefore, if they eventually do become romantically involved, then most if not all of those gifts had intimate and seductive intentions and it essentially constitutes as child grooming.

I understand from a Sessrin shipper's point of view why it'd be so much easier to claim Jaken as the father. In doing so, they diminish Sesshomaru's role in her upbringing. By refusing to acknowledge the real role he had in helping raise Rin (short periods can be crucial and impressionable too esp. in a child's early years so yes they did assist in raising her not only Kaede), these shippers are better able to justify how their filial-like relationship evolved into a romantic one. So yeah, I get it, if I were a Sessrin shipper I'd probably do the same. It's one of the more plausible arguments available to them, after all. "Let's pin Jaken as the father to fend off antis!" is the best chance they've got, but even so, it's still not good enough. But if you insist Jaken is indeed like a father to Rin, then Sesshomaru is most certainly one too. Who says she can't have two fathers anyway?

The thing is however much you want to deny or downplay what Sesshomaru truly means to Rin and vice versa, nothing will ever change or hide the truth of the matter. Please, stop acting like they're only traveling companions and nothing more. Some of y'all even go so far as to say that they're like strangers. Knowing potentially little about a person is not equal to a lack of love and affection. Making big assumptions such as this to defend your ship is actually doing you more harm than good. Let me elaborate.

According to your reasoning, if that's all Rin ever was to him was a companion and Sesshomaru had no real attachment to her, then what precisely is the basis of your ship? Recall that Adult!Rin doesn't exist yet, thus we have no real idea what she will be like or if she's even alive. So how can you make comments like that but then go on later to say "they have such a unique and unbreakable bond" or "only Rin can be the mother because she's the only human he ever cared for" if all that time spent traveling together didn't amount to much in the first place like you claimed to believe beforehand? Do you see how your rationalizing is confusing?

Contrary to what some of you may think, I'm not just saying all this because I'm an anti and I'm obligated to disagree with you, or whatever other excuse you want to tell yourself. Believe it or not, I'm attempting to give as unbiased and objective of an analysis I can based on widely accepted interpretations of family dynamics, development, and any history we know of.

Of course I respect that at times fans will perceive things differently since that's bound to happen. What's hard for me to wrap my head around however is the unwillingness of some fans- not exclusively Sessrin shippers- to apply basic common sense and sound judgment to their observations and deductions.

Looking at all our facts, then taking the small handful of scenes Sesshomaru and Rin do share together into account, one can logically conclude that their dynamic is akin to one found in a typical parent-child relationship. If you still fail to recognize Sesshomaru as a parent to Rin, then that's fine too. In the end, that won't really change the fact that he'd still take on a role resembling an adult figure overseeing a young child's care and protection. Be it as a vassal, guardian, what have you. Plus, nobody is saying here that Sesshomaru doesn't make mistakes regarding Rin's general well-being, but so do all parents. Overall, I think the majority of us agree that Rin is in good hands. Whether it's in his direct company or in his occasional supervision from his frequent visits to the village.

In other words, it doesn't really matter what exact title you assign him in relation to Rin, as the distribution of power is all inherently the same with any and all adult-child relationships. That bond never changes once you've established it either, seeing as it's a special kind of connection one can only form with a child and a child alone.

I was a teacher for a few years, and speaking from personal experience, you don't need to be a parent, per se, to take on a role of authority in a child's life. I know without a doubt that I could never and will never view any of those kids I taught in a sexual/romantic light later down the road; yes, not even once they become grown-ups who are independent and more than capable of making their own decisions. Those of you who disagree are usually missing the whole point though, because we're not trying to dictate what Adult!Rin can and cannot do like many tend to accuse of us doing. This isn't a question of taking away from her autonomy nor does it fall under "purity culture," which is why people shouldn't continue jumping to these outrageous conclusions and really listen for a change. You're deflecting from the real issue here when you choose to misinterpret what we're saying by ignoring the problem we're actually referring to. You cannot present a valid counter-argument if you persist in twisting our words.

Bottom line: once these kids become old enough to pursue a sexual/romantic relationship, of course they have that right if they're ready. All we're trying to say is you guys ought to stop pushing forward this it's-completely-normal-to-want-to-bang-your-adoptive-dad-since-you're-an-adult-and-can-do-as-you-please agenda and not expect backlash. Ship it if you want, but please stop acting like their romance would be the epitome of a pure and healthy relationship.

Sesshomaru may not wear his heart on his sleeve, but it's foolish to presume he didn't actually care about Rin during their whole time together just because he didn't openly express his feelings until the very end. Surely everybody can comprehend that people handle and process their emotions differently. The way Sesshomaru chooses to is completely valid for the most part, so let's cut him some slack regarding this already.

What I'm trying to get at is that any child whose life you played an influential role in will always be a kid in a lot ways to you even when they're old and wrinkly. Just as they will always picture you as the loved one who guided and protected them when they were most vulnerable and couldn't always fend for themselves. Can't we relate this to children we know personally and apply it accordingly?

Finally, I want to end on this note. Could you kindly take a look at these two images below for a second?

The reason I ask is because of something I recently read that's relevant to the topic. There was this pro-sessrin tweet I saw that stated Rin trying to take care of Sesshomaru when they first met is what a mom would do for a child, which in their opinion, translates to Rin being more like a mother than a daughter if anything.

First off: are you freaking kidding me????

Seriously, so now children aren't allowed to tend to their sick or injured parents?! Parents are apparently superhuman and shouldn't be offered a helping hand from a child, even if they mean well and want to help their parent who's in pain?? Now this Twitter user was mostly being a smartass, but at the same time, it was evident they genuinely thought they offered a valid enough point that warranted no further explanation or clarification.

Secondly, by saying this Sessrin fans don't seem to realize that in actuality they're contradicting themselves and proving the point we've been trying to make all along. Glancing at the first picture and moving down to the second, the role of the one being cared for and the caretaker is reversed. So then by their own logic, Sesshomaru IS in fact like a father to Rin.

What it comes down to is the names you give to the roles these characters play aren't as crucial as the dynamic they share. The specific characteristics of that dynamic are what define the importance of said role, not so much the name in the role itself. So real father or not, Sesshomaru and Rin clearly mean a lot to each other. Close relationships are defined and solidified by the devotion and belonging they have to one another, not solely by the duration of time spent together and their proximity.

Italian 101:expressing romantic love and attraction

As promised I'm back with the romantic version of this post :D Link

As usual long post ahead (❁´◡`❁)very long oof

Let's start this journey by defining each role with it's name :)

It can be quite useful to understand a certain type of mentality ! You'll see what I mean right away.

Boyfriend is ragazzo and girlfriend is ragazza and they literally mean boy and girl ahah. Now, it's normal for unmarried native English speaking couples in their late 20s and beyond, to call each other boyfriend/girlfriend. That's really not a thing in Italian. Ragazzo/a are only used by teenagers because it does feel quite infantile to refer to your s/o in such terms in our language 😅 especially if you live together... Ex:{nation x}è il mio ragazzo/la mia ragazza

... Which brings me to: compagno/a. It's the word used by adults to refer to their s/o and it means partner as in life partner and it really doesn't matter whether you're only dating, living under the same roof and/but decided not to marry(but maybe start a family!) it's still the correct terminology! So realistically the Italy Bros would call their s/o their partner, at their current age :) And oh! If you ship them with Vanya it could be a great pun since it also means comrade ahah. Kids of course don't make use of it because a) it indicates a committed relationship as I explained, it would be weird b)it kinda sounds like classmate lol (compagno di classe). Ex:{nationx}è il mio compagno/la mia compagna

Weirdly enough it's not that uncommon to hear a teen say fidanzato/a, which supposedly should only indicate your fiance ahah. As a kid it profoundly amused me to hear fellow 12-year-olds talk about their fidanzati. But it is indeed a common way to call your loved one and I used it myself to talk about my friends' bfs/gfs. As you can imagine it lost such connotation, but I can say that many still feel quite nervous about being called fidanzato/a because they feel like they're about to step on the altar. Ex:{nationx}è il mio fidanzato/la mia fidanzata

Talking about altar... Husband is marito and wife is moglie. On the other hand groom is sposo and bride is sposa. Ex:{nationx}è mio marito/mia moglie. As you can see they don't need an article, *John Mulaney voice* quella è mia moglie! I'm so sorry.

A more yoyo *snort* way to refer to your bf/gf is tipo/a, which literally means dude/dudette ahah. Ex. {Nationx}è il mio tipo/la mia tipa😎.

Onto dialectal versions:) very important tbh, could give that something more to your texts. A common way to call your bf/gf in many northern Italian languages (except my own rjrnh) is moroso/a. It stands for "amoroso", loving and it takes the article according to the language; in most cases it does, in Veneto it doesn't. Ex:{nationx}è il mio moroso/la mia morosa or (in Veneto's case) ho visto mio moroso parlare con mio fratello(I've seen my boyfriend talk to my brother). Would be cute in a social media au like, bio "mio moroso🥺" link to the poor lad's account.

In many southern Italian regions you can find zito/a :) (it's used in Apulia, Sicily and Calabria as far as I know!!) and it pretty much means lad/lass.Ex:{nationx}è il mio zito/la mia zita. I'll assume someone like Mano would use it in a more intimate context.

Common terms of endearment and silly pet names ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

A very common mistake I've encountered in ffs is "mi amore". Italian really doesn't work like Spanish, in our language "mi" isn't a possessive adjective but a particle that indicates the indirect object :3

Ex:Mi piace il gelato.(I like ice cream, Ice cream is liked by me).

Mio is what you're looking for ☺ and it doesn't change according to gender because the adjective takes the word's grammatical gender (amore is masculine). In this case the adjective should be postponed "amore mio", unless in an example like this:

Ex. Sei il mio amore(you're my love).

Tesoro works the same way!! "tesoro mio".

As I mentioned in my platonic love post patata/o is very common and so is It's diminutive patatina/o, but it seems like carotina/o (little carrot) is popular as well (not as much tho! Once again the masculine form is pure invention ahah :)) .

Many use sugary sweet stuff like pucci-pucci which don't really mean anything dbbd we all probably collectively think they sound cute(or irritating, depends who you ask).

One I've seen a couple of times in ffs is caro/a...which indeed means dear in Italian!! But it's not that popular:( mostly because it sounds straight out a 50s commercial. It's used in a ironic way and once again ,with others I've mentioned in the other post ,to address someone who happens to be particularly annoying.

My favourite ones have to be respectively tato/a for Feli and principe for Mano. I truly thought tato/a(tatino/a) were panitalian but my main moots are from the South and they said it's not a thing there,,,? Quite the revelation. It doesn't mean anything, it's just baby talk and it's used for.. Anyone really... Your child, your pet, your bf... Might be a short form for the so popular patato but who knows ahah

Principe truly fucks me up. The idea of Romano calling his bf prince out all of things sends me. And yet it seems like it's quite popular in some parts of the South?? In my friend's @flamaflavio words "I've seen 30 something years old women use it". Oh btw princess is principessa just in case :3

Any kind of cute little animal is game(for example cucciolotto,little puppy or topolino/a little mouse that I've already mentioned). And ah in English there's this thing where you take your s/o name and add bear, in Italian it's orsacchiottino, little teddy bear.

Almost forgotten about it, a bad boy type of character might use dolcezza, sweet thing, or piccolo/a baby.

Let's conclude this post with some sentences o(〃＾▽＾〃)o

Sono innamorato/a di te "I'm in love with you"

Mi sono innamorato/a di te "I've fallen in love with you"

Ho una cotta per lui/lei "I've a crush on him/her"

A more sappy one could be "sei la luce dei miei occhi" (you're my eyes' light). It's also said by parents to their children

Ti adoro "I adore you"

Mi piaci "I like you"

Sono pazzo/a di lui/lei "I'm crazy for him/her"

I won't cover compliments but I can tell you how to say someone is hot ahah. You can say:

Che figo/a! (He/she's really hot!)

È davvero bono/a (He/she's really hot)

A funny way is "È proprio gnocco/a". My girl @flamaflavio introduced me to " È un intero piatto di gnocchi " "He/she/they is/are an entire plate of gnocchi" and I've never been the same😭

We also say "è proprio manzo" to talk about a guy ajsjsj. Manzo means beef, so I suppose it's the Italian version of "beefcake". On the same tone of the gnocchi plate a common meme is " Non è solo un manzo è un'intera macelleria " He's not only beef (a steak??)he's an entire butcher's.

In genovese slang(not language mind you, kids language ahhehs) we might jokingly say "Che beccio". A beccio is a very confident (and hot?definitely stylish) guy.

A more crass way can be "Che fregno/a"

Has a perfume line named after him and models for the adverts

Will smile like an angel right before bringing a building down on top of you fuck, I find this one really funny

☆ Azumane Asahi ☆

Powers: regeneration, enhanced stength

Kind of like Wolverine or Deapool but, like, much, much softer on the inside uwu

Wears green and black

Messed up big time back in the day and dropped off the grid out of guilt some people died :(

Was convinced to come back when his old teammates finally found him again because they needed his help in a crisis

Literally shed tears of relief when heroes and citizens alike welcomed him back instead of hating him mah heart *sniffs*

Can withstand seemingly anything and fully heal within a matter of days

Doesn't know the full extent of his powers himself. How exactly do one test it? 🤔

Still has to psych himself up for a fight, though big softy, really

Powers: electrokinesis, flight

Powers like Storm from X-Men, and kicks ass like Wonder Woman

Refuses to wear a revealing suit, but looks bomb af anyway

Kiyoko = absolute queen

One of the most powerful heroes, but doesn't throw her weight around unless she's kicking bady-guy booty

Stella gynamast, and has mastered several martial arts

Can literally throw a guy three times her size, all without any strength powers Tanaka: 👁👄👁

Somehow has perfect hair all the time secret superpower??

Is active on the political stage as a human rights activist, headlining women's rights yes, yes yes

Will strike you with lightning for sexual harassment

Comes up with really good mission plans

Is a soothing balm for Tanaka when he loses it

A bit of a chaotic-good, but what's new there?

Kiyoko: Sun's getting real low...

Bonus points if you get the reference

Is terrified of hurting innocents if he gets out of control

It rarely happens, but if he loses his self confidence, his powers don't seem to work

Shouts cringy lines at the villains before roasting their asses lmfao

Wears a black and orange flame-retardant suit, and actually looks pretty fine in it 😌👌

Literally head over heels for Kiyoko just imagine it. Biggest hype man

Powers: animal metamorphosis, enhanced speed

Think Beast Boy from 'Teen Titans', but less green he's more likely to be yellow or orange, lmao

Handy in lots of different situations. Very versatile

Incredibly cheeky and joins in with Tanaka's cheesy jokes and one-liners

Absolute maniac, but the people love him, especially schoolkids lmao

Has his own energy drink flavour, and he's STOKED about it

Yellow and black suit, kind of like his hair

Has a surprisingly large following of fans

Laps up the attention, but it doesn't really go to his head

Quiet and serious when he's on a mission/fighting

☆ Hinata Shouyou ☆

Powers: self replication, super speed, levitation

His powers took a while to properly manifest, which left him feeling isolated as a teen

Was pretty lost until Ukai helped train him

Got into a fight with Kageyama in an alleyway when he first met him MET HIM IN THE STREET, LMAO

Argues with Kageyama a lot at headquarters, but they work together like a dream when taking down bad guys

Has a heart of literal gold precious baby

Is contantly amazed when he helps significantly

Was inspired to become a hero by his idol, the Little Giant and it's his dream to inspire someone else 😭😭

Uses his replication ability to confuse the bad guys ULTIMATE DECOY

Levitates around the room when he's excited like Aang from ATLA, hahaha

Wears an orange, white and yellow suit with little wings on his heels cuuuute

☆ Kageyama Tobio ☆

Powers: water/ice generation and manipulation, breathing underwater, superhuman reflexes

I was tempted to give him fire/ice powers like Todoroki, but I didn't want to detract from Tanaka

Has problems focusing his powers, and can be quite turbulent in the heat of battle

Finds it hard to work well with others initially, but really makes an effort

Has hurt people close to him by accident before and never wants to do it again it would tear him apart

Becomes a power duo with Hinata when Ukai helps train them, even though they don't seem to get on well at first

Broody boi on the surface, but a cinnamon roll deep down

Wears a dark blue and deep purple suit that has fins to assist in underwater escapades which are his forte

Freezes Hinata's feet to the floor when he pisses him off or anybody's feet, tbh

Can dodge almost anything because of his reflexes don't ever try to punch him. You'll look stupid

Is surprised by the number of people in his fan club especially the number of women asking to marry him??

☆ Tsukishima Kei ☆

Powers: telepathy, superhuman intellect, mind control on weak-willed individuals

Prefers to outwit his enemies rather than getting into a brawl

But his self-designed gadgets and tech help him out if he has to a bit like Tony Stark, wink wonk

Sometimes makes you question if he's really a hero or not Tsukki, please

Doesn't take orders well

Baits villains by insulting them and getting the better of them with his words it's hilarious

Comes up with good plans, but improvises well with whatever he's got

Probably wears suits over his spandex most of the time fancy shmancy

Is prepared to die to protect Yamaguchi waahhh

☆ Yamaguchi Tadashi ☆

Powers: invisibility, force fields, teleportation

Susan Storm with added teleportation, lol

Often finds it hard to value his powers because they're not as visually strong and impressive as other people's

Rather than squaring up to a battle, he often has to 'hide' from it by literally going invisible

But he gradually becomes aware of how vital his powers can be, and learns to control them and make them as advantageous as possible

Is a highly important and valued member of the team

Soft bean that gets nervous and throws up before a fight

But he's hella determined and won't back down

Honestly, just wants to protect Tsukki and make him proud PROTECT HIM

☆ Yachi Hitoka ☆

Powers: size manipulation

She can shrink and enlarge herself and objects she touches at will, including other people

Sometimes shrinks really small to avoid social situations she doesn't want to be in samez, honey

The clumsiest and least experienced on the team

But she tries her best, gradually getting to grips with her powers

Sometimes uses her powers by accident, like when she's nervous

Once touched a watermelon slice on the refreshment table and accidentally blew it up to the size of a car Hinata, Kageyama and Noya fully dug in with their faces 😭😭

Nearly passed out when Daichi, the literal god of the Hero Association, told her she had great potential

Don't worry, Yams teleported and caught her

☆ Ukai Keishin ☆

Powers: laser vision, metal mimicry

The has-been hero who lost his enthusiasm for hero-ing and retired some years ago

Was really cool back in his hayday. Big hot-shot with a fan club

Has been working as a convenience store attendant to pay the bills and is bored out of his mind but refuses to admit it

Was convinced to get back in the game when he found Hinata and Kageyama fighting, both struggling with their abilities. He broke up the fight and agreed to coach them

Doesn't do much of the flashy hero stuff anymore, but will occasionally get stuck in when he's needed must protecc his children

Is only, like, ten years older than the other heroes, but they treat him like some fossilised sensei out of Natuto, or some shit

Tbf, he has the back problems of one 😭😭

☆ Takeda Ittetsu ☆

Powers: power absorption

Transferred from being a hero to hero management after having having issues with the effects of his powers he has a conscience :(

He felt guilty and responsible for permanently taking the powers of others, even if they were criminals

It was like removing a piece of their souls it kind of broke him

These days, he makes sure nobody knows about his powers, so it can't be used against him

He helps in any other way possible

He would only use his powers again in dire circumstances he knows he'll eventually have to

Is generally chipper and good natured, though

If he was ever captured by a villain, they'd probably send him back because he talks too much omg, hahaha

Helps gather info for the team and direct them on missions and in fights

Gives bomb inspirational speeches ✊

I made some small references for all the current characters in Rulesrune! Yay! They took forever and probably around 20 to 30 minutes each.

The Contest

This is a personal contest I'm holding since I will be away at camp for a whole week and will literally have no contact with the outside world. None. So why not hold a contest?

What you'll be doing

Pretty much I want to see a swap AU of Rulesrune but find it to complicated myself. So I'm holding a contest to see who'll do it best.

Don't worry you will get something! There will be a prize for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners!

All you have to do is design what you think Rulesswap would look like! That's pretty much the minimum. You don't have to do all the characters but the more the better!

Prizes

1st place will get rights to the Ruleswap AU and two free drawing requests from me as well as a drawing of your version of the characters

2nd place will get two free drawing requests and a drawing of their version of the characters.

Lastly, 3rd place will get one free drawing request and a drawing of their version of the characters.

Character information.

This is to help you a bit.

In this AU it is MANDATORY for a Darkner to wear gloves when in the presence of a Lightner because when a Lightner and a Darkner touch bad thing can happen. Usually, the Darkner absorbs the Lightner, merging the two and making it impossible to separate them without killing one or both. Once a Darkner has absorbed a Lightner (this is usually not by choice) they can absorb other Darkners as well except they have a say in the matter since they're now "evened out".

Lancer is a smol bean at first. Due to an unfortunate,unforgettable, and unforgivable incident with his father he has a clawed gash across his face. Due to this, he's now color blind. He tends to asks Ralsei and Rouxls Kaard if he'll ever see a rainbow again. Unfortunately, he probably wont. Now later on Lancer finds Susie injured and attempts to help her, not knowing the gloves rule. This, of course, results in them merging and he now sees Susie as his invisible friend. In battle he uses a boomerang and when knocked out an axe will spin above him. Thats just Susie being over protective.

Rouxls Kaard Was just as cheerful as all usual until the incident happened or what the dark world likes to call it "The fall of the spades". After Lancer had been injured, Rouxls took it appon himself to get even with the spade king and by even I mean strait up beat the guy to a bloody pulp and toss him off the side of the castle. Of course, this most definitely killed the king and the kingdom was not happy. Rouxls, knowing about the geat door, took Lancer and C.Round to the door to escape. The guards chased them and they barely made it in. From then on they lived with Ralsei. Things were fine at first until the merging happened. Lancer had gone off and Rouxls was worried where he had run off too. So he went to go look for Lancer, accidentally passing him and Susie. He then found Kris who was concerned or at least curious where their friend went. Rouxls, not able to turn down any child at this point, agreed to help Kris find their friend when they heard Lancer yell "Dad! I'm lost!" Rouxls, in a rush, grabbed Kris and ended up merging with them. Rouxls Kaard is now a very very silent person and seems to have some personal grudge against Ralsei now, as if he knows something that he didn't before. Rouxls with occasionally talk to his soul but its very rare for him to talk at all. Rouxls use to lance in his pare time so uh..thats kinda how he attacks I guess.

Ralsei is alot taller than usual. He's about 6 feet, maybe a little shorter. This makes him a bit intimidating but Lancer loves him as if he was his own dad. Ralsei is kinda quiet but will talk if someone talks to him first. He's pretty nice and tends to take care of things when Rouxls needs a break. After Rouxls and Lancer's merging with the Lightners him and Rouxls haven't gotten along. They tend to fight (usually not physically because Lancer would notice) fairly often and it causes alot of tension. Lancer thinks his dads get along great so they have to at least pretend to like each other when smol bean is around. Ralsei, though very polite, has someone wrong. Very wrong. Its hard to describe but lets just say hes not all that he seems. He's been caught by Rouxls trying to absorb C.Round and Lancer wich has increased the distrust. No one knows who Ralsei merged with but he hates talking about it and seems to have developed a fear of flowers. Mostly big ones. Ralsei, even though he has poor eyesight, thends to avoid wearing his glasses because when he dose he freaks out. Ralsei is fairly skilled in fire magic due to him practicing alot. He also has vines, though extremely rare. He usually avoids using them at all costs and when he dose its purely accidental.

Jevil oh Jevil. Just as crazy as ever, maybe even more. He's still imprisoned but this time he wants to make a deal with you. He wants your soul. Jevil says that he can literally give you the world if you give him your soul. He'll sing about it during his fight and increasingly get more frustrated when you refuse. This Jevil loves to sing so more often then not he'll sing what he has to say. At the end if his fight, no matter how you defeated him, he'll turn into a scythe. Usually Lancer and Rouxls Kaard leave since they find the dungeon creepy but Ralsei will stay behind and take Jevil for himself.

Seam is the courtyard magician to the new king. Who's the new King? you'll find out later. He's a fairly straightforward cat and prefers to keep his magic acts as a profession. He admits that he misses Jevil but is to scared to go and see him again. He's afraid Jevil will be mad for imprisoning him. This leads Seam to be a bit jumpy since he thinks Jevil might have it out for him.

RK's C.Round dosent have much to be said about them. They fallowed Rouxls Kaard and Lancer to the great door. They lived with them kinda like a pet, keeping Lancer company and out of trouble. They're a great guard dog.

Asgore? You may be a bit confused. Why is Asgore in all of this? He's not even in the picture! Well do I have a story for you. You see, in the light world AKA hometown Asriel has been deemed missing since he went off to collage. Its been 3 years longer than he said and everyone was worried. So when Asgore went missing things got hectic. Undyne started doing more patrols and a curfew was set. Now, where do you think the last place Asgore was seen at was? It was the school. Asgore was helping fix some things and went to put something in the closet when he somehow entered the Dark World. There are multiple entrances and he just so happened to appear by the castle. The other kings had yet to be freed and the kingdom was in disarray so Asgore, being the kind hearted soul he is decided that he would be the new king. It took some convincing and research (as much as there could be) but he finally did it and the people are fairly happy.

Dogtrio is a set of 3 C/K.Rounds that work together. C/K.Rounds are more powerful in numbers. The one with the heart on his crown is their leader. He usually commands and heals the other two during battle. Together, combined, they can summon D.O.G. The acronym is unknown.

Robbert, Bobbert, and Elli are best if friends and like to change anyone. More specifically, they want to take down RK for killing the spade king. Unfortunately, they're just 3 idiots in a trenchcoat. The only lethal one is Robbert but he's so busy trying to make sure his friends don't fall off a clif or miss fire their bubble rocket launcher that he can't actually kill you. Bobbert is bubbly and kind and honest doesn't know what he's doing. Elli is mute yet kind and heals the other two when they get hurt.

Susie was absorbed by Lancer and is now considered his guardian. She protects him when no one else is around and helps describe colors to him. She'd go ballistic if anything happened to him.

Kris is just...Kris? They don't have too much do them. They don't talk and kinda just float around RK, waiting for the chance to escape. But they can't. They never will. It's slowly making them violent. Watch out.

Clover is just normal clover. They still haven't found a boyfriend yet.
