Yes, the plans of our adviser might not be accurate to what has been expected but at least we are getting movement with our paper. With our other subjects, I guess the current PIT's haven't been much taken care off and there are a lot of stuff to catch up. It has been raining a lot with the last days and boy, we got a cold Christmas and New Year that we have celebrated. It might not be fancy or wild compared on the other year, but still, I survived the past year and I am grateful for it. For the first quarter of the month, I am going to be busy with my school stuff. Also, I want to be active as much in cosplaying. It has been a fun year in 2022 and I also want to have fun in 2023, despite of the money constraints but I do think I can manage after all. That is why I need to hustle in finding work soon and adjust my everyday routine. I haven't told my mother I have bought a costume and I intend it that way, hopefully it will not be delivered on Saturday or even Sundays. That is, until the companion rounded a corner to head into one of the nearby doorways, and was met with the sight of a small child silently weeping in the corner. Alone.

The image of that child alone, covered in grime, their face coated in tears, is forever seared into her mind from that moment on

She wasn’t allowed to cry much as a child, it was considered whining, but if there was one scene that could represent how she felt her entire childhood, it was that

She was rushing forward before she could even think about it, almost failing to consider how frightening that may be to the child

Luckily, she remembered shortly after her impulsive actions, and slowed down, kneeling a few feet away

“Do you need help?”

As soon as she can coax the child into trusting her and letting her pick them up to get them out of there safely, she struggles to let go

Even when Sole’s trying to check the child for injuries, she has to fight herself internally to let go of them

After a long talk with Sole, that child becomes priority in her life; sometimes the people who’ll mean the most to you find you in confusing ways

There’s supposed to be a protocol for similar situations according to the Brotherhood

He has a moment of weakness, seeing a child so helpless like that

He gets hit with anger, surprisingly; he tries his best to remain detached, and he’d like to think he’s pretty damn good at it, but the idea that someone could abandon their child like that?

He suppresses it long enough to have Sole carefully approach and check the kid over (he knows his armor isn’t exactly the most relaxing sight)

He’s somewhat silent on the way back to the Prydwen

Handing them over to the medical staff is difficult for him and he needs to take a moment, but at the same time struggles to leave the child

He asks Sole to stay with them so they have a somewhat familiar face and steps outside for a moment

Pulls some strings to get them adopted onto the Prydwen: he tries to keep a semi-detached relationship moving forward but definitely has some bias towards the child as they grow up in the Brotherhood and checks in on them

Deacon:

Unfortunately, it’s not the first time this has happened; he’s travelled for most of his life, and hiding out in abandoned locations was part of that

Child abandonment is more common than other people would like to believe, so he’s gotten used to sorting things out, and honestly, it’s not all that different from his work in the Railroad

Regardless, he’s had practice

He approaches slowly and quietly, but talks so that the kid is aware of where he is

He walks them through what he’s doing as he checks for any obvious injuries, asks a few questions if they’re verbal and not completely dissociated, and wipes their tears

Asks Sole for any sort of blanket or spare shirt they may have and wraps the child in it for comfort before asking to pick them up

Any conversation about the kid is done out of earshot- it’s not exactly comforting to hear strangers discuss how messed up you and your situation is

Instead he has Sole stay alert as he mindlessly tells lighthearted stories for the child to listen to if they can hear

Once they get back to Railroad HQ he stays nearby, tells jokes, can provide signing if they’re deaf, makes sure they give consent to every part of being treated, gets them some food, etc

Needs a moment once he’s told that they’ve found somewhere for the kid to go

One of the rare times he gives Sole a hug without prompting

Gage:

Has no clue what to do or what’s going on

Makes Sole approach the kid; “What if it’s a tiny feral ghoul?” “Gage, you’re an idiot”

Keeps his distance for the most part unless Sole asks him for help

He will pass the child some food or water, silently, in order to try and bond or something

Very much uninvolved in the process as long as Sole has things covered, but he does get extremely vocal in the fact that the child needs to go to a good home

Haylen:

Uncertain in how to approach, but once Sole tells her what they plan to do, she’s willing to help

Asks a few questions about why they’re there and what happened to them, but if she’s not getting answers, she knows to back off and focus on what might be going on physically

Once they’re both sure the child has no injuries and can be moved, Haylen uses cloth they collected to fashion a sort of back-carrier; the most practical thing is for both of Sole’s arms to be free for protection

Has a long chat with Sole about what to do once they get back to the Prydwen and briefs the medical staff, but after that, she lets Sole take over

She knows that spending more time with the child means she’ll get attached and that’s the worst thing she could do to either of them

Will ask about what type of home/community the child went to after they’re gone and feel reassured once Sole explains

Sometimes she randomly thinks of them and reserves a moment to send them her best wishes, but other than that, tries not to care

Hancock:

His heart absolutely shatters, but he knows that approaching may make things worse; after all, they’ve probably run into feral ghouls depending on how long they’ve been on their own, and his appearance won’t help their distress

Instead, he sends Sole forward to check up on them and build some repertoire

Sole has to have a small chat with them about how they know that there’s bad ghouls, but there’s also very nice ghouls, and that Hancock is the nicest ghoul they’ll meet

If the kid freaks out once they spot him he feels sick to his stomach, but if they don’t, he’s relieved

Has Sole carry them just in case the child changes their mind and freaks out after calming down, but will talk to them

Doesn’t really want to bring them back to Goodneighbor, but if that’s the closer option, that’s where they go instead of Sanctuary

Either way, he finds himself extremely attached already, and once the child receives medical attention, he’s bending over backwards to get them whatever they want food, drink, and comfort wise

Once the kid falls asleep, he sits Sole down to talk; (if they’re close) do they think they could co-parent?

Really doesn’t want to let the child go to another home; he’s seen the shittiest of shitty of the wasteland, and doesn’t trust anyone else to raise the child right, but at the same time, he doesn’t think he’d be a good parent

If Sole reassures him and is willing to take on the job, the pair adopt the child. If not, they bring the child home to Sanctuary and discuss with different settlers there whether or not they’d be willing to take on a child

The Longs get first offer

MacCready:

While emotionally he’s destroyed by the sight, he knows how to deal with the situation

He’s a natural with children after Duncan, and so it’s easy for him to approach calmly with plenty of warning and go through the process of making sure the child isn’t fatally wounded before getting permission to move them

Asks some basic questions, if the child isn’t mute, and tells some stories about Dogmeat and the silly things he does

(If Duncan isn’t healthy and he and Sole are just friends) Mac knows that having to part with the child is going to break his heart the moment he sees them, but he can’t take on another kid with the way his life is; it wouldn’t be fair to anyone involved

(If Duncan is healthy, has been moved to Sanctuary, and he and Sole are either best friends or partners and co-parenting) He waits until they’ve gotten the kid settled and talks to Sole about whether or not they have the mental, physical, literal, etc resources to take on another child

If they agree he’s ecstatic, considering the child won’t have to go to another set of strangers before finding somewhere safe

Brings Duncan in on the conversation and explains what’s going on and asks his opinion

Nick:

Like Hancock, despite the fact that he’d like to help right away, he knows that his appearance can be frightening to those who aren’t used to it

Instead, he tells Sole to go first and approaches afterwards

Whether he’s consciously aware of it or not, he tries to keep his face out of the child’s line of sight to avoid frightening them

Once they’re on the move he’s already gotten in a debate with himself on whether or not he’s willing to put on his Detective hat and look for the child’s parents

Of course, it could be a misunderstanding, and they could’ve gotten split up during an attack or something

But at the same time there’s a visceral anger in him that someone would let their child end up like this; it’s not rational, he knows, especially since it could be an accident, but he can’t really help it

He knows where he could place the child already if Sole and he aren’t in a place to handle the responsibility (and it takes a long while into their friendship/relationship for him to even think about co parenting) due to the many families he’s met during his work

Piper:

She thinks with her heart and not her head, so she’s already scooping up the child before it even registers in her that that may be a bad idea

Panicked, trying to soothe the kid as she’s shooting Sole a frantic expression of what the hell

Has no idea what to do, really, and looks to Sole to help her out

Once they’re on their way to somewhere safe she discusses the fact that (unless she and Sole have moved to Sanctuary and are past the main questline) they probably can’t take on a child

They’re consistently travelling due to her work, Sole’s fighting their battles, etc

If they’ve settled, they already have both Shaun and Nat to worry about, so she’s not quite sure how another child will work in their lives

But if they do decide to take on the responsibility, the decision is made when she goes to get food for the child back in Sanctuary and finds them fast asleep against Sole’s chest

Something about that image seals the deal for her and she knows she and Sole need to have a long talk

Preston:

Unfortunately, like Deacon, this isn’t quite an uncommon sight for him

He approaches and talks his way into trust with practiced ease that’s quite telling of how things go in the wasteland

He’s picked them up and is already on his way out by the time Sole registers what they may want to do about the situation

It’s not really a question to him that the child’s coming back to Sanctuary; he knows that someone will take them in, even if he specifically can’t

He’s had enough field training (and practice) that he knows how to check for injuries and treat some basic ones, so that’s done swiftly and as painlessly as possible

X6-88(Institute):

Doesn’t really see the point in getting involved, but if Sole wants to do something about it, then he doesn’t protest; after all, he’s there to protect them, no matter what antics they get up to, no matter how unadvisable

He keeps his distance and pays no mind to what they’re doing with the child, he’s simply there to keep guard

Wants no part in the matter

X6-88(Post-Institute):

Really isn’t sure what to do at all

He lets Sole approach first and takes cues from them; their cautious body language, quiet voice, etc

Pretty much just follows their lead the entire time due to his uncertainty of the situation, but he adapts eventually

Offers them water pretty much right away because he knows how threatening dehydration can be especially since they’ve been crying

No matter how much he may want it, he doesn’t bring up the idea of him and Sole co-parenting first; they would have to say something first for him to discuss the idea

He is one of the most protective when it comes to finding a family for the child, if that’s what he and Sole decide to do, though

I mean at first he saw this as a challenge and just getting the possibility to do play a game with you ? 

He couldn’t say no to that 

The thing he just took this way to personally, so he had to finish this with the best score getting the things you had to unlock during a game.

The whole idea of co-op game is to play together in order to finish the game

But he didn’t hear that : he wants to do everything by himself 

And when he can’t do it he would ask some help.

Don’t expect him to be good with synchro-enigma he can’t he is either too quick or too late. 

I’m sorry to say that but he might complain about your game (while he was the one who is losing all the heart because he can’t read an enigma properly) 

And you see me coming but if can’t resolve an enigma and if you can’t help him he would just stop and won’t play at this game until he feels like he can do it 

Oh and he sucks at game like Overcooked you know those kind of things were you’re supposed to work at the same Time as his partners he is either too slow either too quick (but always pretend he isn’t his fault) 

Don’t think I mentioned that but he cursed a lot, he complained a lot (to my fellow frenchie he is like Sardoche in real life I don’t make the rule here) 

7/10 because it’s funny to see him being angry at a game 

Mikasa - skilful

i wanted to say that if you’re not eren she won’t play with you LMAO 

But if she is dating you, she would do it because she wants to please you and spend some good quality time with you (she is not a fan of video game but she can tolerate some RPG) 

She tends to be quiet while playing and only speaks when she got an idea about how to solve enigma or difficult game who implies being coordinate. 

You didn’t have to anything in such mission she will synchronise her game with you don’t question her. I don’t know how she is doing it but she can no matter if you tend to push way to quickly every button or if you’re a slow one. One look from her and she does it 

She is really god any games it piss me off

When you struggle at an enigma that you decided to resolve on your own she will either give you tiny tips or just ask you to just stop right now get some tea and try again later when you’ll be more relax 

The only problem with her is she wants to help so much that she might do everything on her own especially if one of your mission imply fighting (like kill a boss together to unlock another level) she would quickly get over it without questioning you and you end up getting so many xp and items while you didn’t ever touch anything 

She wants to help you so much poor thing ♡ 

Also if you’re hurt during a game or if you life are pretty low she would stop everything in order to heal you. Even if it’s very cute from her, it piss you off cause now you have to start again because both of you died together. 

9/10 she is the best she cooks cookie prepare some tea for you. 

Armin - strategic 

i love him I really do 

But you can’t play with him 

He needs to make a plan on every mission, Like sweetie just relax you need to chill a little bit. 

Although he tends to overthink everytime He is very good when your goal is to kill a boss, cause he will do two jobs : healing and helping you to kill him. Give him 5 min and he will give you a whole tactics so you can fight the boss easily and earn even more xp. He won’t be afraid to go and heal you too if you’re in need and would never judge you if you’re struggling (even if he guides you during the game) he understand that the game is pretty difficult. 

He is good to with enigma like it’s just sound quite easy for him. All he has to do is read the thing and BANG he got the solution how can you do that ?

He will even explain the whole thing so you could also resolve enigma with him 

The problem is he is way too slow, if your level implies being coordinate it would take you forever until being able to finish the game. Especially because he is not comfortable with a joystick like they got way too many button and he is not good with coordination so he ends up being confused with the button 

When it came to videotgameswhere all of you have to work in coordination, he is always slow. He really tries but he is always way too slow, but he counterbalances his lack of skills with his minds so after you’ll lose because he couldn’t manage to do something within 30s he’ll find a solution to win 

It’s really funny to play a cop-game with him on Fortnite cause he’s like « y/n why would you play at such a game ? What’s the point of killing people ? » and he is the one who is throwing a grenade and shoot at the same time so a lot of people can dies with one shot or planing a trap so a lot of people might die at the same time. He is very dangerous when he wants to just saying. 

8/10 because sometimes mind isn’t enough and you need skill to win 

Jean - Skill and minds 

Do not let him play with Eren 

I swear don’t do it otherwise they would spend the whole game yelling at each other « you should come quicker Horse face ! » « Oh yeah ? Who’s the one who though that would be wise to attack the boss without getting heal first uh ? Such an idiot bastard » 

It’s not comfortable if you’re playing while being on the phone but it’s so funny to see him getting angry because Eren (as usual) run without thinking about a plan

Like Armin he tends to be very good when it came to resolve enigma or find an enemy’s weakness : all he has to do is to let Eren, Connie and Sasha run at first so he could analyze the boss’ behavior (yeah he totally uses them as guinea pig and he doesn’t regret that especially when he hears Eren getting Angry or Connie complaining it’s so funny) 

Unlike Armin he is pretty food with a controller so he can actually being very efficient as long as Mikasa isn’t around 

He tends to be close to you EVERYTIME and he would even protect you, heal you everytime you got hurt because you protects Connie, Eren or Armin, it’s cute at first but very annoying then because he only focus on you and isn’t into the game anymore. When he turns like that, someone need to tease him about not being good like Eren and he will scream a little bit (how dare you as if he could even be worst than that suicidal bastard) but then he is on it. 

Watch him beating the shit out of the boss 

BUT when it came to games like overcooked when you have to share task he is bad. Not because he isn’t skillful but because he wants to be the chief so badly and of course Eren thought he could be the leader while everyone knows he isn’t coordinate enough to do that. So most of the time Armin is the leader in such a game 

Just give him a task where he has to be quick and he’ll be fine but don’t let him in the same group as Eren, they would argue about who should to this and you’ll end up losing because they argue. 

Also if you’re playing something like a RPG with him he gave you SO MANY things like everytime he drop something this is for you, at this point he doesn’t care about his character (he does but he can’t just not give you something) 

You didn’t ask it but I’m just say it, if you play animal crossing with him he would spoil the shit out of you, can’t blame him he just wants to help so badly. He’ll text you about his plan, the stuff he got he would even help you with flowers. 

8/10 because he tends to flirt with you or argue with Eren so you’ll lose precious time for the mission 

Connie & Sasha - Funny 

I put them together because 1) they tends to play everytime together 2) because they play the same way 3) they share one braincell (meaning either you’re dating connie or Sasha you’ll have to play together) 

One word : a mess 

Always questionnaire why we’re doing this or why we shouldn’t do this, this way 

BUT they’re like very synchronized, it’s like seeing someone and his reflection (sometimes you’re even jealous cause you can’t do that)

They tends to be very effective when you need to coordinate something 

They’re pretty skilled too 

But they can’t make a plan even to save their life 

The number of life you’ll lose because them and Eren decided to run into the boss’ lair without asking permission 

It should be illegal to run that easily anyway 

If Connie is really dumb when It came to enigma 

Sasha is very good to notice tiny elements that actually was the key to resolve the problem 

She tends to be super good to drop every tiny things that was hide behind a tree too a really hunt (but won’t share her things with you if you’re not giving her puppy eyes I’m sorry) 

But Connie is your best allies to fight couple of ennemie at the same time, like you were walking and boom you’re surrounded by NPC and he will come to save you. 

Connie is a protector 

I mean Sasha is too but she more into prevention, safety than protection but if during a game you might be in danger of course she’ll run after you (ask you extra cookies for that) 

Dont expect any of them to be good at enigma or games like overcooked, I mean Sasha might spend her whole call luring about foods while Connie might try to do everything on his own since he is incredible (he says it) 

If you’re calling one of them during a game, it’s actually more entertaining than the game, I can’t explain they’re just super funny

If you’re playing in a RPG that might have a huge map you’ll definitely lose them at some point during your game, they don’t have any sense of direction and since they can’t read a map (that’s me don’t bully me I’m trying) well they get lost and will send you a picture of their screen so you could help them  

6/10 because they’re trying to their best but since they share one brain cell well it’s always more complicated than it should be 

Bonus : Marco Bott - Motivating 

My cute sweetheart 

He is doing is best everytime you call him for a game 

He is so good at overcooked than I’m jealous of him 

Kinda good with Enigma but he is really good when game imply strategic (he also loves how focused you are and how he could motivate you with his plan) 

He doesn’t play at any games that involve war or anything so don’t ask him about a fortnite game he won’t do it 

He really love role-play (not put intended lmao), he is actually a good narrator and is so good at at owning xp : his character might not be the greatest when it came to strength but he is very balanced character 

Playing with him it’s actually relaxing, he never raise his voice and seemed to always find a way to relax anyone that might be too into it. 

Especially good when It came to help Eren and Jean to just shut up and play the game without yelling : don’t ask me how he does that the man is a genius 

If he teams up with Armin during game like Among us you loose any chance to win (I mean if you’re the traitor he would never say it but he noticed so does Armin but won’t say anything about it) the man knows everything, and is able to make you confess it’s really fun to watch but bother you when you’re loosing yourself in your explanation 

When it’s just you two playing a game together and somehow you struggle to resolve an enigma or a level, don’t worry your boyfriend Marco he is

He wasn’t particularly noteworthy—that’s what the rumors said, anyway. Jamil kept his head low, and kept his secrets close to him. Maybe it was his air of mystery that first drew you to him. A part of you always suspected that there was something more to Jamil than he let on: observed words that seemed too controlled, and actions that seemed restrained or held back. And so, you approached him, offering a cautious hand (and a sarcastic remark). He had accepted, but not without a healthy dose of suspicion. The friendship was a tentative one--the two of you aloof and caught up in your own academic work and social obligations. With time, you came to slowly open up to Jamil, showcasing your artwork, sharing your ideas, and telling him all about your aspirations. You would come to learn more about Jamil and his own ambitions as well--and ultimately, it was those whispers of shared hopes and dreams that wove your fates together.

Overall, you’re a very self-contained couple. Neither of you feel the need to express your love bombastically. Jamil’s the impulse control and voice of reason in the relationship (after all, he has had plenty of experience with getting a hold on Kalim!). He’s good at talking you out of impulse purchases and curbing your spending (even if you sass him a little). Every month, Jamil sets a budget to sure that you don’t go into the red, and he always has an eye trained on you to keep you out of trouble. “Yes, yes, I know you’ve been eyeing that TWST nui snake plushie, but is it truly a necessity? Buy groceries first, then see if you can afford it. If not, you’ll just need to wait until next month.” “... I do not believe it would be wise for you to attempt that literal leap of faith. At least apply a levitation spell before you make the jump.”

You and Jamil equally find yourselves ensnared by the whims of your families--perhaps that’s part of the reason why you can so easily relate to one another. For him, he is bound to serving the Al-Asims, regardless of his own ambitions. For you, there’s a disconnect between your dreams and your parent’s expectations. You share the struggle of wanting to be true to yourselves despite what others want from you--and it’s a hotly discussed topic, spoken of in harsh whispers, sometimes bittersweet. However, no matter how much self-doubt there is, you’re able to help one another overcome those moments of weakness and emotionality, and encourage the pursuit of their own goals.

Lan Xichen stares at the altar.

It is a small one, hurriedly installed among others inside the Unclean Realm. Its only decoration is a bolt of pale embroidered fabric from which Nie Huaisang apparently once wanted to have a robe made, and a portrait of Lan Xichen that Nie Huaisang personally painted, as promised in the temple. It doesn’t look like Lan Xichen does in this mortal form, and it probably doesn’t look the way he once did as a god, but the main attributes of his last remaining statue are there.

How long has it been since he was granted a new altar? Not since before this Nie sect even came to be, he thinks.

And now not only was he given this altar, but there are offerings on it. Nie Huaisang put incense to burn and offered flowers and rice, yes, but surprisingly others did the same, and thanked Lan Xichen for keeping their young master safe when he ran away. Even the stern Nie Mingjue, who clearly didn’t share his brother’s certainty about a godly intervention, still lit up some incense and bowed before the altar, simply because he realised how much it mattered to Nie Huaisang.

It had been a flight of fancy to help that boy and get him into the temple, just a sudden impulse to feel like a real god again, but Lan Xichen finds himself more than rewarded for this kindness. If he can keep this up, if they continue honouring him, he might well survive a century more.

Lan Xichen had forgotten what hope feels like.

But hope or not, Lan Xichen knows to whom he owes this. As days pass, he sticks close to Nie Huaisang, who is currently his strongest believer. Even the old lady, dear to Lan Xichen as she is, never had such unwavering faith in his power. She prays to him mostly out of habit, while Nie Huaisang does so out of conviction. Being near him feels like stepping into the sun after an eternity in darkness, and Lan Xichen cannot get enough of the sensation.

Besides, if they are to be married, he needs to know more about the young man whose life he will share.

Nie Huaisang is an interesting person, Lan Xichen thinks. He acts a little spoiled, but of course he is young, and Lan Xichen vaguely understands that the Nie family has gone through rough times in the recent past, and Nie Huaisang’s childishness might be how he dealt with it. At his core, Nie Huaisang is more serious than he lets on. For example, he is determined to fully repay the debt he contracted toward Lan Xichen. The altar he set up is but a first step. In spite of his brother’s warnings, Nie Huaisang has inquired what it would cost to have a safe road to the mountain temple, just as he promised to do. In fact, he goes beyond his promise, determined to find every possible detail about Lan Xichen so that he may be worshipped properly. To that end, he spends day after day in Qinghe Nie’s immensely rich library, reading through books with a speed which astonishes Lan Xichen, writing letters to make inquiries as if it is the easiest thing in the world.

Lan Xichen thinks Nie Huaisang might just be the cleverest person he has ever met, and the most stubborn as well. Both are qualities he appreciates in a follower, and in a person.

It’s quite funny to Lan Xichen to realise that Nie Huaisang is considered lazy. Perhaps he only puts efforts into things that interest him. Lan Xichen, of course, is glad to be one of those things.

In general, he’s just glad to be around Nie Huaisang. The steady warmth of belief is quite nice, of course, but that’s not the only reason. Nie Huaisang, although he apparently realises to some degree that Lan Xichen shouldn’t exist as a mortal, still tries hard to be kind to him. He gives him delicious foods, and tries to find subtle ways to look for gaps in Lan Xichen’s knowledge of the mortal world so he can fill him in and help him fit in better. He is a pleasant person to talk to, a pleasant person to silently spend time with, a pleasant person to look at even, his youthful face showing every sign that he will develop into a handsome man someday.

In just this little time, Lan Xichen finds himself quite fond of this little mortal. It won’t be unpleasant to marry him as agreed.

First, though, Nie Huaisang must mature. And part of that means heading out toward the Cloud Recesses, where Lan Xichen himself is supposed to come from, according to the narrative Nie Huaisang demanded in his prayer. It is a stressful perspective, since Lan Xichen isn’t sure he is quite strong enough to shift reality around people who have much stronger reasons to refuse his intrusion into their life, but he will try his best. It is the deal he made with Nie Huaisang, and he will see it through.

To Lan Xichen’s relief, just before they are set to head south toward Gusu, Nie Huaisang begs his brother for a full ceremony at the mountain temple, with incense and prayers and everything that can be done to honour Lan Xichen. Nie Mingjue grumbles and complains and even gets angry, but he eventually gives in, as seems to be common for him when his brother makes a request. Nie Mingjue is a wise man, and he apparently understands that little can be done when Nie Huaisang is in a mood to be stubborn about something.

So the three of them head out into the mountain, followed by a few Nie disciples who carry food offerings and some tools to clean the temple.

The temple’s floors are swiped clean. Rubbles are removed. The nearly faceless statue has its layers of dust carefully cleaned away by Nie Huaisang who climbed on its pedestal so he can reach every part, revealing details that Lan Xichen himself had forgotten. There are even some traces of colour here and there.

“I’ll have to make another portrait,” Nie Huaisang notes. “Mine isn’t accurate at all after all.”

“I’m sure this god is already more than happy with what you have given him,” Lan Xichen says, lifting his gaze from the altar he’s wiping clean. It is a struggle to keep himself from crying from joy, and his voice comes out a little strangled, but Nie Huaisang doesn’t appear to notice.

“I need to do better,” Nie Huaisang says with a shiver. “I cannot risk offending him.”

He sounds almost afraid, and his hands tremble slightly as he carefully dusts the statue. Lan Xichen stares at him a moment more, and sighs.

However pleasant everything else has been, this is one thing that doesn’t sit right with him. For whatever reason, Nie Huaisang seems to be afraid of his god self, and it taints his every prayer. This doesn’t change the value of those prayers, it doesn’t make his belief any less strong and valuable, but Lan Xichen can feel that fear almost constantly and he doesn’t enjoy it. He is too used to the old lady’s belief, simple and companionable. She treats him like an old friend to whom she can make requests, and he wishes Nie Huaisang would do the same. They are set to be married, it is the deal, and Lan Xichen doesn’t like the idea of a union set in fear. 

“I am sure that god would not be offended,” Lan Xichen quietly insists. “You haven’t found anything about him in all your books and your letters, have you? So he must not be a very important god, and your efforts are sure to have been noticed and appreciated.”

“But it’s not enough,” Nie Huaisang retorts, gritting his teeth. “It can’t be enough. Nothing I do is ever enough, there’s got to be more I could do!”

Lan Xichen frowns, and looks around until his eyes land on Nie Mingjue. He heard this, and is staring at his brother with some concern.

From what Lan Xichen understands, the reason Nie Huaisang took refuge in his temple a few weeks ago was because of a great argument with Nie Mingjue regarding his capacity to do… nearly anything, really. Nie Mingjue, taking Lan Xichen as the confident Nie Huaisang asked that he be, admitted to him one day that he is terribly worried for his brother’s future. There might be a war, he said, and Nie Mingjue could die in it and leave Nie Huaisang alone to lead their sect before his time. Nie Mingjue confessed he is terrified that the elders of their clan won’t respect Nie Huaisang because his mother was of lesser birth, that some of their cousins will attempt to rob him of his birthright, that even if he becomes sect leader he will not be respected and some people will try to take advantage of his inexperience. So Nie Mingjue pushes his brother as hard as he can, demanding more efforts, more results, but it is all in vain because Nie Huaisang has stubbornly decided he isn’t good at anything that matters, and refuses to try anymore.

It was a terrible argument they had that day, Nie Mingjue said. And then, proving all his fears right, Nie Huaisang nearly died after running away and catching a fever, showing to all his future enemies how vulnerable a target he would be without Nie Mingjue to protect him. At the same time, that Nie Huaisang was ready to run away showed that he took it to heart every time he was scolded for not doing more, and now Nie Mingjue doesn’t know how to handle him anymore.

After Nie Mingjue confided in him this way, Lan Xichen promised he would look after Nie Huaisang, no matter what. It is part of the deal, as far as he’s concerned, because spouses must support one another, but also…

Lan Xichen is quickly becoming quite fond of this pair of brothers. Having been lonely for so long, he finds joy in the closeness they share, no matter how strained it might be at times. It is clear to him that Nie Mingjue loves his brother, though he struggles to show it when he has so much on his mind, and Nie Huaisang feels the same, to the point it was inconceivable for him to marry someone who wouldn’t be friendly with Nie Mingjue.

“Nie gongzi, you’ve done all you could for that statue,” Lan Xichen says, grabbing Nie Huaisang by the waist and pulling him down from the pedestal.

Nie Huaisang squeaks in surprise, fighting for a second before going rigid with fear as Lan Xichen puts him down. His face is a bright crimson when he looks up at Lan Xichen, who wonders whether that’s anger at being manhandled this way, but the other Nie just start laughing at his expression.

“Don’t seduce my brother like that, Xichen,” Nie Mingjue scolds, more of a joke than a real warning. “Look at him, he’s two heartbeat from asking for your hand now.”

Amazingly, Nie Huaisang manages to blush an even brighter colour, and leaps away from Lan Xichen. Nie Mingjue laughs again, apparently content with his brother’s perceived crush. Perceived, or real. Lan Xichen isn’t really sure what goes on in Nie Huaisang’s mind. He can feel is never ending flood of belief, the undercurrent of fear, but no particular affection so far. Then again, with fear that strong, it would be hard for any other emotion to flourish. Lan Xichen hasn’t wanted to talk directly about their situation yet, assuming that Nie Huaisang might want the illusion that this is all perfectly normal, but he’s rethinking that strategy. It is clear that Nie Huaisang, for whatever reason, is immune to the narrative that Lan Xichen created for his sake, so why not talk about it openly? If it can make Nie Huaisang any less afraid…

That is a problem for later. Right now, the temple is as clean as can be achieved with what little time they have available, so Nie Mingjue conducts the ceremonies necessary to consecrate the temple again, and invites Lan Xichen to inhabit again this place dedicated to him. Incense is put to burn for him, offerings are left on the altar, thanks and prayers are presented to him. Even Nie Mingjue, so openly reluctant to believe that there was any divine intervention to help his brother survive in the mountain, does provide a small stream of belief, hinting at a mind just as strong as his brother’s. Lan Xichen hopes that they can truly become friends over time, though he is unsure that’s possible with the lies he’s had to weave so he could fulfill Nie Huaisang’s request.

Still, there’s no harm in trying. If Lan Xichen is to spend one lifetime as a mortal, he wants to make the best of it, not only as a god in need of believers, but also as a person left alone far too long.

hi, i wanted to ask a question: does high Ni need to have a clear idea of their future job too?

i saw the last submission wrote by an enfj and i'm here questioning my Ni, because 1) i don't have a dream career (i envision lots of high Ni 3 type having one though, which i'm not!) and 2) the only thing i want for my future is to basically be comfortable (but for real, not faking it) with myself and live a lifestyle that has a certain vibe and aesthetic to it

but regarding actions, oh dear, i'm a MESS... i quitted university last year out of pure impulse, i was very bored and displeased by it, i never had big dreams about jobs or career (i honestly can't be a type 3 heart-wise because i don't possess ambition, lol), at this point i just over-spend and over-do (ex. yesterday i bought a new phone out of pure impulse and without a real reason i saw it and i had enough money in the moment and i though why not? it's expensive for my family to bear with me, i often can't control my impulse and at this point it's a huge struggle)

it happened also that i received an email talking about a possible stage at a supermarket and i just though something like "why should i do something so boring for free?" and left this email "unread", lol, the idea of being imprisoned with those kind of jobs really scares me, when i'll have to work, i envision it a certain way, i'd feel very upset if it will end up in a different way.

when i'm disappointed or get bored i can't help but escape. even real life is getting too boring (and i can't escape from it which gives me a reason to do stupid things just for the hell of it).

considering all that i said it's clear i have a huge loop and i'm losing control over my life, but i'll stop here because you have your things to do and it's getting long, thank you if you answer to this kind of question and rant :)

You sound like you might be a 7w6? Short attention span, high emphasis on not wanting to be bored, not going through with things, all those problems plague 7s because they are always searching for fun and entertainment and don’t want to get stuck in a boring job they hate, so they avoid commitment.

7s are more often EP types than EJ types simply because 7 goes along with extroverted perceiving dominants more, but it is possible to be an ENFJ and a 7. You would need to prove Fe usage in yourself, and show enough Ni for it to be arguably more powerful than any of your lower functions (Se or Ti). ENFJs usually are insightful, people-focused, and interested in the motivations people have for the decisions they make, and/or focused on abstract careers (like Neil deGrasse Tyson, an ENFJ). I know a 7 fixed ENFJ and her career is based around a halfway house, but her longer term goal is a psychologist. She is somewhat impulsive and ‘not sure yet’ how she wants her future to outline itself (being a 9, her motivations are a bit hazy and unclear), but she still shows strong Ni on a daily basis (reading people accurately and perceiving what they intend to do between the lines). So... look for high Ni. If you can’t find it, you might be a mistyped EP.

It is possible for extroverts to under-develop their second function simply because they are so uncomfortable with introspection, in which case focus on Ni development (learning to plan ahead, foresee the consequences of how you are treating the people around you, and how your actions are going to make them feel about you in the future -- that’s specifically ENFJ-based).

Part 1/7

Your name is Y/N, and you’ve got the most beautiful pair of brown dappled wings you’ve ever seen. Not that you’ve seen many, at least not on a person. At the meager age of twenty, you’re a fully licensed pro hero, with worldwide experience.

You trained and attended school in your home country, the same place in which you began your career, but your work has taken you across the globe. Specializing in aerial search and rescue, you’ve seen many a crisis and natural disaster, and though you truly enjoy helping people, you’ve begun to get...what’s the word?

Tired.

All-encompassing and wholeheartedly tired.

Every day there seems to be a new accident, a new life to save, a new vacation to put off until later when you’re not needed, a new ‘I’ll take it easy today’ only to get home well after the sun sets and wake before there’s a light in the sky. You understand that aerial-quirk heroes are in high demand, but the amount of work you’re expected to accomplish is downright unreasonable. Fifteen hour work days, seven days a week?

And the commission has the audacity to wonder why you’ve gotten slow.

Such circumstances are why you made the bold decision to quit your job at your current agency, pick up everything you knew, and move overseas to Japan. With other popular winged heroes established there, you might begin to feel your workload lessen and the joy in your life return. Plus, you’ve never been to Japan, and you’ve heard it’s pretty this time of year.

Which leads you to where you are currently, standing in a small ice cream shop, trying to decide what flavour to order.

You eventually pick one, opting for something sweet instead of savoury (you didn’t even know savoury ice cream existed), and, with your treat in hand, you wander outside. The little shop almost looks out of place nestled amongst the high-rises, but then, that’s probably what drew you to it.

That, and they seem to have really good ice cream.

You begin walking down the street, your original purpose for being out and about coming back to the forefront of your mind. You don’t start work at your new agency for a couple of days, but you figured it would be wise to get familiar with the area. You never knew if you had to give a lost patron some directions.

Then, just as you’re beginning to enjoy the sun on your face and the breeze in your feathers, an explosion goes off down the street. People scream and run in every direction to escape the blast, and you watch, and hope, and pray, that another pro arrives on the scene. You’re so tired.

A man cries out, drawing your attention, and you watch as his young daughter is snatched from his arms and carried off into the sky by a villain.

So, so tired.

The villain flaps his wings hard, dark flesh menacing against the bright blue of the sky.

Tired.

You wonder if the soft flesh of his wings was damaged in the explosion. He seems to be struggling, even though the little girl is already screaming and wriggling uncontrollably in his arms.

He shouts something at her, but you don’t hear what it is. Probably some kind of threat.

…

And then he drops her, from three hundred feet up.

You drop your ice cream and take off into the sky, wondering why it was so impossible for you to have just one calm day.

You catch the girl easily, though she writhes a little bit until she realizes you’re there to help, and return her to the ground. The villain is a short ways away now, and you would bet your left arm that you could catch him if you tried, but the fact is that you don’t have to.

With the excuse of keeping the little girl safe, you let the bastard get away, secretly hoping karma catches up to him and he runs into a building.

At the very least, the child’s father seems grateful, taking her into his arms and holding her close. He doesn’t say much to you beyond some blubbered thank yous, but you don’t mind. You’re long desensitized to the traumas of hero work, but the average citizen isn’t. You know he’s relieved, and that’s all you need.

You walk away from the scene then, now that other pros have arrived to help with the damage, pausing for a moment to stare at your ice cream that’s melting on the sidewalk.

So. Fucking. Tired.

You decide to spend the rest of the day in your shitty apartment, where the space was barely wide enough to stretch your wings out but the need for a hero was slim. The place had been a bit of an impulse ‘buy’ (you rented the space, in actuality), much like your entire move to Japan had been. A desperate attempt at change, for the sake of your own wellbeing.

But if you were a magnet, disaster would be a sheet of steel.

Your phone rings on the table beside you, cheery tune mocking your sour mood. You briefly entertain the idea of letting it go to voicemail, not having the wherewithal to deal with anything social at the moment, but the call display dissuades you.

“Hello, Y/N speaking,” you answer, putting on a light tone for your new agency. You don’t want to give them any kind of reason to regret hiring you, even if it meant putting on a farce for a few minutes.

“Good evening, Miss Y/N,” the person on the other end says, “I’m calling to inform you that your contract with us has been terminated-”

Fuck.

“-at the request of the Heroes’ Commission.”

Seriously. Fuck.

“Earlier this afternoon, we received a call regarding a transfer to the agency run by Hawks, and the request of the man himself. Seeing your history, we decided it would be best if we didn’t hinder you in achieving your full potential.”

Right, and the sum of money they probably received had nothing to do with it. You knew how these things worked.

You bite your tongue.

“We appreciate you considering us when you applied for jobs in Japan, and we wish you the best of luck in your new position.”

You hang up.

Of course the damn Commission would still have a say in what you do with your life. They’d work you to death if you ever gave them the chance, but it seemed trying to take that chance from them was near impossible.

“Why did I decide on this career,” you ask, of no one in particular, letting your misery seep back into every crevice of your mind.

You’re so irritated that you nearly throw your phone across the room when it lights up with a text.

‘I look forward to meeting you. Gonna be cool to work with another bird.

Max goes to training when he's a little younger than the rest of the recruits but his dad was a jaeger pilot and he wants to show the world he's not the same type of pilot, he won't quit when he's needed and he won't endanger his partner. when he gets to training he's seriously impressive. all the older pilots are a little weary, he's a little emotional and they don't want to get stuck in memories with him. so he goes through a lot of potential pilot partners (he and Daniil were too similar at first, they never had that high of compatibility and didn't have that much time together because Daniil kept practicing with Jean-Éric and was better suited anyway. the next partner was Carlos and he worked well with him, he thought it might last but then he got a promotion and suddenly he was testing with Daniel and everyone else seemed like a terrible match. he never got caught up with Max's memories and wow he was great at getting him to relax. then out of nowhere, he's gone. transferred to a different base and Max is a little in shock. then Pierre and it's ok but sometimes he'll get distracted by Pierre's memories of a brown-haired kid he's hanging out with and sometimes he'll be crying but he recognizes him when it's one of his more recent memories as a recruit from a different base that came at the same time as Pierre but that he hasn't met formally. Pierre gets swapped before they can even make progress with Alex next and he never really meshes jaeger pilot-wise, likes him fine but they move on). Then he gets paired with Charles. at first, he's a little confused, they were so close to 100% compatibility but when they first test in the jaeger they both chase the rabbit. Max feels like a rookie it's been so long since he's done this but he can't help it. he needs to know more. and Charles does the same thing. they can't help it. suddenly they start spending more time together outside of training. they sometimes struggle to focus on training and not just flirt with each other. then they get new partners. Max gets Sergio and Charles gets Carlos. Max can relax knowing that Carlos is a good partner and Sergio is laughing at him when he realizes that's what he's been worrying about. Checo balances out some of the impulses he has when piloting and they have an even higher level of drift compatibility than he's had with other pilots, even Charles. They spend their time outside of the jaeger talking and building their relationship. the emotional intimacy he has with Checo is different than what he's been building with Charles.

q3 2021 update & plot call !!

below the cut, you can find an update on ash’s current life, career (or rather absence of), and development for quarter three, as well as plot and thread ideas! if you see anything that you’d like to plot out or write with him, like this or message me, and we can get to it! i have a lot in mind about where ash is right now, so i might add more and expand later on!

ash is on hiatus the whole quarter so... not much going on here.

uhh basically the first two days of july he was still trying to get bc to let him take a break so schedule threads could be set then if they cross paths at the bc building! he’s going to be participating in concert rehearsals for knight to a less intense extent since bc, as of the beginning of his hiatus, fully intends him to participate in the concerts. he’ll miss about the first half of the tour, but in july and august he’ll still be attending knight tour rehearsals some to keep up. schedule threads can also be done then!

(note that he’ll be missing the bc city concert as well — i don’t see him dropping by just to support either tbh, sorry bc ppl. white knight duo ver tho let’s gooooooooooo)

ash will eventually start writing music and finding his love of that again though and that’s pretty much the most work he can do during his hiatus, so it’d be cool to maybe have him write, compose, or produce for a few people that might be releasing later this year or sometime next year if anyone is interested? :) we can see if ash would work for it. there’s also opening for him to ask a few people he’s close to to sing some demos for him when he starts trying to write again!

personally + plot ideas!

explaining how he got to his hiatus would take me all day but he basically forced bc’s hand in letting him take time off (well, he wanted to leave knight and retire ngl but his manager was like... you know that’s not going to happen let’s try a hiatus <3). you can read my badly-written solos for part of it (i still need to write more) but generally, the most other muses might know is that they might have run into him acting kinda moody/down or impulsive/irresponsible lately, he made a very uncharacteristic post on social media that hinted at being unhappy with his life currently and losing passion/excitement for even the things he used to value most highly before his social media was deactivated by bc lmaaooo. the post would have probably conveyed Something was up it it wasn’t like genuinely super triggering-level content i promise !! bc released a statement shortly after stating he’d be going on hiatus without mentioning a definitive end date.

so there’s the possibility a muse might have checked up on him after that post / the hiatus news to see how he was doing?

tbh ash isn’t going to be seeking out meeting new people during his hiatus. he’s taking time to himself and is only going to make any effort to hang out with people he’s comfortable with. those he’s not close to, he’s going to have to interact with by running into unintentionally.

he’s getting a place in jeju in the early-ish part of his hiatus. he’ll be spending a lot of time there at first because he just wants to get away from seoul, so it’d be nice to set some threads there if your muse has the time to hop over to visit him if they have anything resembling a free day. (again a certain level of closeness would be necessary, but i think one good heart to heart conversation beforehand could bring someone closer to him enough for that rn! even over text tbh lmao). chuseok would be a really good time for this !! i imagine catching up over lowkey dinners or heart to hearts under the stars, that found family ash has actively fought having lol

(that place in jeju is also going to be where he starts to want to write music again too, so music based stuff there would be chill?)

heart to hearts in general anywhere would be really good for ash right now so please give me those! they can be in seoul too for sure.

he’ll be moving into a new apartment in seoul eventually, though that will probably be a little later in his hiatus? he had some bad fan/sasaeng run-ins right before his hiatus and having so much time off makes him realize he wants to move. someone can help him house hunt or if someone else is looking for a place, they can talk together about it. i want him to realize he wants to move into a smaller place that can feel more like home

once he does move, muses are free to come over and help him set up / be his one-man housewarming party. that’s a little down the line tho !! so we might not want to plot that as a thread to write right this instant

he may also be getting a pet ! muses can come look with him at a shelter or he can run into people there!

this would be a little later in his hiatus, but it’d be interesting if once he’s doing a little better, he gets the urge to dance and runs into a muse at the dance studio. idk that he’ll ever fall completely back in love with dancing, but he might rediscover some of what he did love about dancing and ash and this muse often run into each other as he visits that dance studio a little more often and they eventually bond over it / do some dancing together.

those who still really have that passion for making music ash has lost, talk to him about it <3 he misses it. he might cry but tbh he’s liable to cry in any thread

he’s cutting his hair short and dying it back to black this month, so it would be possible to run into him at the hair salon!

ash will want to be inside at home mostly at the beginning of his hiatus, but as it goes on, he’ll start to branch out and that will offer some more opportunities to hang out. he’ll try not to go to bars and clubs really, but small music venues or jazz lounges, small indie cinemas, galleries, those kind of things will be up his alley

idk that there’s much plotting to be had around this, but this long hiatus on top of the other hiatuses he’s had and his acting out before this hiatus is going to make some of the bc team realize it might not be super wise to keep pushing him hard as a cf model (and in the long run, just less of pushing him as a major idol star within the company in general tbh) so he’ll be able to get some more tattoos and piercings and will become more comfortable, hopefully, with presenting himself how he wants to be seen / having some development in that good ol’ lack of bodily autonomy aspect ash has always had going on. he’ll be coming out of hiatus living much more of his 2021 jk fc truth with the full sleeve and the eyebrow piercing .

uhhh ? pretty far down the line but i’ll mention it while it’s on my mind :) i think it’d be cool if ash did a collab (mini-)album (or two?) at some point after getting off hiatus. i’d want it to be someone he really clicks with creatively (though they don’t have to be a songwriter — i can see it working as collaborative songwriting or as ash feeling really inspired to write for them) and wants to work with since it’s not going to be something he’s letting bc push him into it at that point, and something that just happens organically. realistically, this would work with a female vocal best by far, maybe a male rapper just based on the songs ash does / i can see him doing. probably wouldn’t want to commit to anything fully rn unless it really clicks but i wanted to throw the idea out there :)

uhmmm?? ig i should also mention ash will be paying attention to his health both mental and physical he’s been neglecting for a while. there isn’t too much to say regarding plotting here because he needs to handle it himself with trying new therapy, medications, understanding there’s some stuff beyond “just” his depression going on. coming to accept nothing’s ever going to be perfect, but that self-awareness and effort can help more than denial can. not super plot potential-y but i’ll mention it since this is all the personal update section

basically, ash is taking time to recover mentally (and physically) and ultimately hopefully leave hiatus in a better place than he started where he can be more comfortable in his career, even if just a little bit, in himself, and in his life. if he can have some good, developing threads during the time, that’d be great!

            the crown prince;  the future of norway and the son of lars and kirsten.    from birth, his every move was tainted, every word influenced and every decision calculated.    but what drives his thoughts  ?

            the first born and the first in line;  being the crown heir of the norwegian throne meant that there was never any room to step out of line.    his parents nurtured him as you would expect them to, although they raised him aware that they would need to prepare a king.    and in that sense, they did.    kris was taught to be nothing other than lars’s son;  his father taught him how to negotiate, how to perceive, how to make decisions that weren’t only in norway’s best interests but also in that of the family.    what else could he do but go along  ?

            he was taught to never miss anything;  to never underestimate those around you but also, more importantly, to never underestimate yourself.    like his father, kris learned to be aware of his own self-importance and although this lent him an arrogant and prideful attitude, it also taught him not to cower behind anyone, no matter who they are.    he is very much the man his parents raised him to be, and to him, that’s a blessing as well as a curse.

            his ability to asses situations is one trait he takes great pride in, but that doesn’t mean he necessarily takes what’s happening around him on board.    if he’s ran by anything, it’s his intuition;  conscience has nothing to do with it, and he will willingly ignore it if it gets in the way of the most practical solution he can think of.    understanding a situation and the people involved makes it easier for him to learn from it in the long run, and prevent mistakes from happening.    after all, who can stop his own mistakes from occurring but him  ?

            as a result, kris never makes decisions on a whim.    he’s not opposed to losing sleep so he can think of a solution to a problem that he knows he can resolve.    he’s driven by the need to correct mistakes before they even occur;  norway doesn’t need a king who creates more issues than he does positive outcomes.    his ambition to be a good king is only stopped by the fact that he thinks things through perhaps too carefully, granting missed opportunities that kris can spend weeks punishing himself for.

            there are certain things he can’t understand, though.    kris has learned to be governed by his thoughts and thoughts alone;  emotional impulses only cause more harm than good, as far as he’s concerned.    so he struggles to grasp the concept of letting your emotions rule you.    random emotional outbursts are a moment of weakness;  letting people see what weakens you is even worse.    he can’t afford for people to see him at his lowest, so therefore he must control a situation before it controls him.

            he can’t allow anything as preventable as fear or worry get in the way of his goals, nor can he let his own issues trouble norway.    for that, he makes himself appear indifferent in every situation he faces.     ‘  failing is never an option  ’  is what his father once told him.    and for his entire life, this is the lesson he’s taken on board the most.    he won’t let people see him falter and this might be his biggest downfall;  his need to succeed is even greater than his need to feel fulfilled, which is never even nearly satisfied.

            however, his arrogance is consistently getting in the way of his true potential.    he was brought up to believe that his word is absolute;  nothing can change it nor can anything challenge it.    it has made him stubborn and unchanging, it made him feel like his every move and every word is justified, even if it later causes problems.    he was born to be the person he is today, and he won’t let anybody take that away from him, even if sometimes the thought is tempting. he loves being royalty, he’s eagerly awaiting his future, but even he sometimes wonders if it’s all worth it.

            he will never speak these words, though.    any form of self-doubt will only give people more power to control him, and god, he hates that.    he’s the one giving the orders.    he’s the one making the decisions.    what gives people the right to question him or tell him what to do  ?    there’s only one person in this world he will truly allow to control his actions, and that’s his father, but even lars he obeys reluctantly.    his need to control a situation stems from the fact that when he’s in control, nothing can surprise him.    when he takes the lead, he can control the outcome.

            the world is so full of deception, kris tries to avoid being apart of that.    this results in him not being able to filter his words.    if he doesn’t like something, you’ll know.    if you ask for his opinion, he’ll make sure you get it along with a few other things you didn’t ask for.    he has no time for manipulation and for that, he can be trusted, even if gaining his trust in return is something of a task.    he can’t stand vulnerability and therefore learned to be unreadable at all times.    but there are times where he at least attempts to appear open.    the same can’t be said for his father.

            in that way, he’s different to lars.    he enjoys appearing dominant, he likes having the power to control situations.    but what’s the point in that if people are just going to cower at your feet  ?    he doesn’t like bullies;  he doesn’t like people who use their power to create chaos.    he’s too careful, too calculating, and too working towards norway’s best interests for that.    he knows his limits and knows when something isn’t working, so although he dislikes change, even he understands that change must happen for the greater good.
