genuinely, i think steven universe is the first fat positive media i’ve ever seen.
sure, steven likes eating donuts, fries, and pizza, but that’s never turned into a joke, nor does that make him look bad for liking junk food. in steven universe future, although he doesn’t eat the same things as before, he’s still fat. amethyst also eats everything she sees, but that’s more because she’s a gem and she can eat anything she wants, not because of her body.
greg is comedic relief, but never because of his weight. the same counts for ronaldo.
smoky quartz is probably one of my favorite fusions in the show. though they’re very insecure, the target is not their fatness.
rose quartz is beautiful, and loved and desired by two people. EDIT: it’s confirmed she has involved with other humans too!
the body diversity of steven universe is truly amazing, but the love and respect to fat people is certainly one of its virtues.
EDIT: how could i forget sadie! she's so awesome!

You felt your fingers wrapped tightly around the cold metal, sending shivers down your spine.
“Okay, that’s good. Just relax a bit, detka,” you felt Yelena’s hot breath in your ear.
You shook your head, trying to shake all the butterflies away in your stomach because of her closeness. She was right behind you, her head on your shoulder, her hands on top of yours adjusting them properly around the gun you were holding.
“The trick for a perfect aim is practice, of course. But it also helps if you imagine someone you strongly dislike as the bullseye,” you chuckled, feeling your body relaxing a bit. “I’m serious, Y/n. It really helps.”
“But I don’t hate anyone.”
“Yeah, I figure. You are way too pure to hate anyone,” she kissed your left cheek, you felt your skin getting warmer under her soft lips. “Okay, just take a deep breath,” you did as you were told. “Close your eyes and let your body relax, focus on your breathing.”
You breathed in through your nose and out through your mouth, feeling your heartbeat getting back to its regular rate.
“Okay, that’s good, moya lyubov',” you felt her hands on your stomach as she felt your breathing. “Once you are ready, just take the shot.”
You opened your eyes, determined for the bullet to hit the tin a few meters away from you. You closed your right eye, trying to aim for it, and pulled the trigger.
“Wow, that’s impressive,” you heard Yelena chuckling behind you as she looked at the hole in the tin. “Good job, pretty girl,” she took the gun from your hands and placed a kiss on your forehead. You closed your eyes, and leaned into her touch, wrapping your arms around her.
You rested your head on her chest, breathing in her scent, feeling comfort in it. She smelled like fresh rain and the woods around the two of you, you could also smell the faint bourbon on her lips.
“Can you teach me how to use a knife next?” you looked up at her, mischief filling your eyes.
“Yeah, sure. Anything you want, malyshka.”

Hi, its me, Woe, welcome
I feel like I should introduce myself on here!
Right now I basically only whatever I am brainrotting about and I reblog a LOT so yeah, expect that. Right now I am in a bit of a transitionary period trying to find a new thing to obsess about, but I like YTTD, WItch's House and sometimes SKZ.
I am a spanish speaker natively so I may make mistakes! But I mostly post in english. If I make any mistakes please tell me! I will clarify and correct myself.
Also I do my best with tumblr etiquette but if I do anything wrong please just tell me! I swear it's unintentional.
I try my best to always be respecftul when I post so if I make any mistakes, or you just have a different opinion, please be respectful back to me when saying those. I love to talk tho, and would love to make friends so don't be shy!
Now, boundaries/reasons to block if you don't want this on your dashboard
I try not to be overbearing with it, be respectful about it, and tag properly, but I post discourse, so that is to be expected here.
I post liveblogging from time to time, as I said before, I try my best to tag and everything but you'll see that here.
I follow CC boundaries always, unless I am unaware of something of course, if I do break any please tell me because I promise, it is accidental.
I am uncomfortable with NSFW of CCs, I do not care if they are comfortable with it or not, if you write, post, etc. About NSFW relating to them, well, please block me.
Please, if you are someone who supports the Dream Team, any of them, block me.
Sometimes I am in a lazy mood and I don't capitalize properly or I don't add every '' ' '' to the words, things like that, if that annoys you yeah... sorry... feel free to block lmao.
I do wanna say, I avoid following people who do anything I listed above and said I dislike, but I can't check someone's entire tumblr blog and know if they do anything I listed, so if you see my profile and do anything I listed as things I would block for, you can feel free to block me so we can stay in the sides of tumblr we enjoy without bothering eachother lmao. It's not like I'll do anything, I'm not toxic and you can do you, I'll just block when I find out, but yeah :D
My tags:
All of my tags are right now full of QSMP since it was my last interest, BUT these are general tags to find my own posts and opinions, not only QSMP-related.
#woe's ranting: For me ranting a lot about characters, or anything really, here are my 'analysis' if you wanna call them like that lmao. Just long-winded opinions about stuff.
#woe's thoughts: Small, not very deeply thought out opinions about stuff.
#woe's venting: Complaints I have I need to get out, or dumb posts that feel emotional to me, most of the discourse and me complaining about life is here.
I might have to edit this if I remember things to add, but hopefully this is ok!

I wonder what the deal was with Jungkook and dropping honourifics so early on with jimin then wanting to stay formal/hourifics with Hobi, Jin, Namjoon ect.
By 2014 (after two years? Of knowing each other) you see in Bangtan bombs Jungkook is testing it and dropping honorifcs with Jimin where even the translator is like he’s dropping honorifics. Jimin is like I can’t even scold him/get mad? In response when he comes for him. Then from then on it gets a lot more prominent and casual. Saying jiminie/jimin-ssi like it’s second nature by 2016ish. You have multiple moments of jimin telling him to use honorifics like that run episode with the old game show games and Jungkook is like “jimin come out” a jimin replies “use honorifics”. And then jimin even did the same last year during their vlive where he did it and jimin was like don’t address me like that, and Jungkook is like “how should I address you?” While grinning. Like it’s something only maybe asks him to do for show/on camera.
That’s not even taking into account the times he’s snuck in Jimin-ah, it’s even more blatant when he says jimin without the hyung and then mentions like Jin with the hyung right after. Bonus, even uses his tone in a manner like jimin is YOUNGER than him. It’s so……
Hello!! So let's talk honorifics. I'm starting this off with a language lesson. Lol I know it's not really what you asked, but it relates and it's important information to know. And I have multiple asks about honorifics in general. So we are doing it all here! Let's get it!
To start, something we should all be very very aware of is what honorifics in the Korean language even are. Please keep in mind that I am NOT Korean, nor do I speak the language. This is what I have learned from my own observation and research into it. That said, always believe a native speaker of the language first and foremost before anyone else when it comes to what things mean or how saying things can be meant with different intentions. If I get anything wrong, please correct me! Here is a fairly basic chart with some of the most common honorifics used in Korean:
Tumblr media
And what isn't included here is the reverse for Hyung/Oppa/Nuna/Unni... which is dongsaeng. Dongsaeng is the same for male or female, essentially simply meaning a younger person that I am close to. The closest translations for all of those in English typically tend to be older brother/sister or younger brother/sister. But that is not at all what they actually mean. When addressing and referring to your actual younger siblings, you would say Chindongseang for younger brother and Yeodongsaeng for younger sister. Some people use them, some don't. But if they attach the Chin- or Yeo- you can assume they are saying along the lines of biological sibling. The honorifics for older siblings remain the same as the ones for older person that I am close to. Another common example we hear BTS or other Kpop artists use is Sunbaenim which combines two of the ones we see in the chart above. You will see them refer to Artists who have been in the field longer and are older than they are this way. We also see many rookies or younger but well established groups now refer to BTS this way. Such as TXT (who now mostly just call them hyungs). It's a way to show respect to their seniors in the industry who they don't really know personally or super well yet, so the extra level of respect is added. When adding -ssi to someone's name, such as Jimin-ssi, it is essentially the same thing as the English Mr. So when BTS or anyone else refer to them as "Jin-ssi" they are essentially saying "Mr. Jin." It is the same for women. So the one -ssi essentially covers the entirely of the words Mr, Mrs, Miss, etc in English.
Now let's talk about WHY Honorifics are generally used. Honorifics are used to convey respect between the speaker and the listener. They are also used to essentially communicate the relative hierarchy between parties, usually to show respect to those who are higher in status or in the hierarchy than you. Status/Age hierarchy are a very big deal in Korean Culture. It is also a way to indicate your relationship to each other in terms of hierarchy, age, gender and intimacy. For instance you would probably address a coworker who you only speak to on occasion with -ssi or sunbae or -nim or some combination. Where as you would address a coworker who is also a very close and personal friend with hyung which shows that you do have a closer relationship together.
Why and when is it okay to drop honorifics with someone? Essentially that comes down to the person who is higher in the hierarchy and their personal relationship with you. The older person in the relationship essentially doesn't have to use honorifics. It is the youngers responsibility to show respect to those higher in age than they are. It is also considered rude to ask to stop using honorifics. Depending on the relationship, it's okay, but it changes person by person. Essentially, in order to truly stop using honorifics on a casual basis, the older person has to offer it and say it's okay for the younger to speak in Banmal with them (or informally). So in the case with BTS, all the members would have essentially had to let JK know speaking informally with them was okay. And speaking informally to a person older than you really showcases the intimacy and closeness you have with that person, whether it is as friends or as lovers. Essentially what it comes down to is that the default should always be to use polite and formal speech, if and when that changes needs to be worked out between the individuals it is being changed with. And the way you speak to each other is and can be a good indicator of how close your relationship with each other is.
Now let's talk about BTS, and Jungkook using (or not using) honorifics specifically. Now I will say that ALL of BTS are insanely close and have almost no boundaries together. Over the years, I am POSITIVE that all 6 of his hyungs have given him permission to use banmal with them on occasion, or off camera. And I could find examples of JK dropping honorifics with every single member if I wanted to (but that's a lot, send another ask if yall want that. This is already an essay. Just trust me for now please). But we also know that using honorifics is his norm for the most part, and especially during the early years, he wanted to keep that up. He wanted to show his respect for his hyungs in that way. During his ITS talk with Tae, we learn that Tae asked him to use banmal with him and that JK refused in the early years.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The majority of the times we see him drop honorifics with his hyungs, it's in a teasing manner. It's being a giant brat on purpose. It's to get a reaction and make everyone laugh. Because he isn't really being disrespectful, his hyungs don't mind and they love and trust each other to pieces. But it's not him TRULY dropping honorifics as it's more of a tease. We do see him genuinely drop them sometimes, normally in celebratory excitement. Like when he dropped them for Jin in his excitement over congratulating him on his solo release. Or when he called Taehyung TaeTae during a game in a variety show. And he often drops honorifics or just uses -ssi when addressing the members by their stage names (Rap Monster, V, JHope). They did bring up JK dropping honorifics with Yoongi during Butter interviews, saying he shouts his name in the halls sometimes just going "YOOOONGGGIIIII" at the top of his lungs. Lol and yes, the fact that he DOES and CAN do that, speaks to the incredibly close relationship he has with his hyungs. But again, that specific example reads more teasing and joking that a serious drop of honorifics. Or it's different because it's their stage name, not truly their name. But with Jimin... with Jimin, it's different and it's often...
Tumblr media
In this gif you see the rest of the members immediately crack up and laugh, because JK spoke to Jimin like HE was the hyung and was scolding him. In a way that would be entirely inappropriate for a dongsaeng to typically do. He is teasing him. He slips in Jimin-ah and Jiminie often. It started out more teasing and then slipped into the Jimin-ssi stuff and got progressively more flirty and causal as time went on. If you haven't heard it, listen carefully to the difference in how JK says Jimin-ssi vs how literally anyone else says it. Hell, you shouldn't even have to. Jimin literally told us that the way JK says it is very flirty. He literally walked a fan step by step in how to say it if she wanted to say it like Jungkookie. He said he says it much flirtier than than that. Lol With Jimin, we see JK push for and Jimin accept and encourage, more of an equal standing in their relationship with each other. With Jimin, he wants to be on equal footing and not have a hierarchy between them.
Tumblr media
To the point where he is okay with not just dropping honorifics on BTS only shows/stages, but on national television during an award show. He is okay scolding and taking care of Jimin like a hyung (or equal partner) would. Normally the maknae GETS taken care of. We see this in how BTS excuse all of JKs brattiness in the early years. We see it in how they brush off the never buying them birthday presents for awhile after a bit of teasing. But then we also see how he DID buy presents for Jimin. How he offers to do things with Jimin often. How he takes care of him whenever he can. How he scolds him and doesn't always feel the need to be obedient and toe the line as the youngest. He views himself and Jimin on equal ground, and that says PLENTLY about how close their relationship to each other is.
Tumblr media
Jimin has proclaimed himself that he has a "habit" of getting scolded by Jungkook. And while this sometimes done more teasingly, it's a much flirtier tease than JK does with the rest of his hyungs when he drops honoritics with them. It's a power play tease, not a "I'm being a silly brat" tease. We also see that Jimin enjoys it's sometimes, that he sometimes acts up specifically to get JK to "scold" him. When he teases and drops honorifics with everyone else, it prompts group laughter and funny moments. Sometimes it's like that when he does it with Jimin, and other times we simply see Jimin smile and chuckle to himself, or look quite pleased with himself. It's more.... personal. Like I said, it's them playing with power dynamics and joking around/teasing, but also... not. They will flirt by either dropping honorifics totally or getting OVERLY formal instead the other way. You can almost ALWAYS tell by the tone of voice they use when they do it.
And one of my personal favorites, where even Jin felt the need to intervene and change the topic as smoothly as possible while on camera:
Tumblr media
As much as Jimin enjoys provoking JK and getting scolded by him, he also very much so enjoys being the hyung. He has a natural inclination to want to take care of people and be reliable for them. He enjoys being in control of things too. He is very smart and very dependable. And as much as the members tease him for acting the most like a baby of the group sometimes, they have all also said that they all sometimes view HIM as the hyung instead. They know they can go to him for advice, for comfort and for love, and that Jimin will always give it to them. The same goes for JK. He looks up to Jimin alot and Jimin goes out of his way to take care of him a lot. While this is more typical for a hyung/dongsaeng relationship, the amount of times JM puts himself below or on equal ground with JK is not. And we don't see him really doing that with anyone else. He allows his hyungs to dote on him and love on him. He listens to what they tell him to do. He doesn't allow them to see him truly vulnerable though very often,, and let them take care of him that way. They have mentioned how getting Jimin to share his worries and concerns could essentially be like pulling teeth. He doesn't like to lean on his hyungs that way. We have seen him seek out JK though when he needs encouragement. And sometimes Tae and RM too. But even with Tae, his same age friend, we don't see a lot of Jimin letting Tae push him around or "scold" him like he let's JK. And Tae is one who can and should be able to get away with that.
Tumblr media
He often drops honorifics in the most natural of ways with Jimin too. No teasing involved. It just... happens. And we see no one react to it, like JK speaking in banmal to JM is one of the most common occurrences. When it's over the top and teasing, it gets a laugh. When it's overly flirty, it draws attention in a "watch it, you're on camera" way. When he just drops honorifcs in causal conversation, no one bats an eye. It just shows how common and natural that type of speech is between them, everyone is used to it. Meaning, this is probably how they have been speaking to each other for years. Above in the ITS gif, JK says it's Jiminie's turn, very informally. And in response Hobi simply turns his attention to JM then for his turn. No one reacted to the lack of formal speech at all. We don't see him drop the honorifics so casually and so often with the other members. He does sometimes, but with Jimin, it happened first and it happens often.
Tumblr media
And even when Jimin calls him out on his lack of honorifics, he never is super serious about it. He jokes, he teases, he goes "aish, what a brat," but he has never once seriously told JK to address him formally. Which shows how fine he really is with it. Or how sometimes the reminders might just be for the camera. Or the reminders might just be more of how they play with their power dynamics. But overall, Jimin does not mind and even encourages the lack of formality. And Jungkook pursues that equal footing with Jimin more than he does with anyone else. And he doesn't just want to be taken care of by Jimin, but he wants to be the one who takes care of Jimin too.
Tumblr media
So, yes. All of the Tannies are super close and have no problem with the dropping of formalities at times. They all love each other and trust each other. They are bound together for life at this point I'm sure. But Jimin and Jungkook do not have a normal hyung/dongsaeng relationship at all, and it's because they want it that way. Theirs is one of give and take. One of equality. It's interesting to see at the very least. This doesn't technically have anything to do with romance at all. But it DOES show how intimate, close and wonderful their bond is with each other, no matter what the nature of it is. They are obviously one of the closest pairs in the group. It highlights how much love they share between them, friendship or otherwise, to allow that type of relationship. It's truly, very beautiful.
Hope that helps and hope this all made sense!

Hellooo, I hope you are okay 😊, i just read the "their crush catches them staring" and I loved so much.
May I request a (y/n) who is from another country and when she gets mad (not necessarily with them but it could be) she stars cursing and talking in another language? And them they just be like "wtf are you talking?"
I really like to see a Brazilian (y/n) with Shinichiro, Mikey and Chifuyu but you can change if you want, I really don't mind :)
Ps: I didn't find your rules so I hope me request is okay
Aaaa I really love the idea of this! I feel like the boys would get all shocked pikachu faces and look at y/n like she grew another head 😭😭 As a bilinggual I often find myself code switching to a different language especially in expressions and sounds of frustration or when my grandparents would tell me to repeat what I say in my native language because they say english is wayy too fast (I'm filo btw)
Tumblr media
Hearing their s/o speak in their native language

NOTE: so this is the first time i'm ever doing sumthing that involves another language and I did a little research on the words I've decided to put but please feel free to correct me if I used some of the words in the wrong context or if the translation i've put on the word is wrong
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to write this hope yall enjoy!

shinichiro
As a boyfriend he prolly already knows that you can speak a different language
but
that doesn't stop him from blinking back and getting surprised whenever he hears you though
cue the core memory he had when he heard you speaking to your grandma over the phone one time
it was all normal until it wasnt
from the start of the conversation on the phone, you had your grandma on speaker and he understood every bit of what yall were saying
at first, he thought he started disassociating when he thought he heard you start speaking gibberish
has a confused face and blinks back like 🙂
"i just understood what they were talking about a second ago and now 🙃🙃"
literally doesn't know what to do whenever you speak a different language like does he say anything or do you need a hug or a pat
so he just awkwardly stands there in hopes you'd explain whst just happened
It was one of those days where you were bombarded with hell works from uni. Having already pulled 3 all-nighters this week and still a massive pile of essays needed to be done and god let's not get started on your thesis paper. The only thing that had you fueled right now was the two bobas you had earlier and now an iced latte.
So much for the last month of your senior year
With squinted eyes you could see the clock read 11:09
Not knowing shinichiro had been behind you, who had been sitting by your shared kitchens table, watching for what felt like 10 minutes still somewhat drowsy having just woken up because he noticed you weren't in bed with him yet.
Uni really did take most of your time and he always did applaud you for being quite the model student but at the price of your health he wasn't just going to stand back while you overworked yourself to death
"I wonder if tonight's gonna be another all-nighter" you say aloud before opening up your laptop to start on those hellish essays.
'How many needed to be done again' you think as you count the ones that were nearly due on your laptop's sticky notes
(A/n: do people still use sticky notes as a reminders tab for hw or is it just me huhuhu)
one...
two...
three...
An unamused chuckle left your lips then had your tongue kiss against your front teeth, "damn this is really gonna be the death of me" you mutter as you checking over the requirements needed for the first paper you chose to start on

Running a hand through your hair," Foda-se essa merda" (fuck this shit) you say before you started drafting out what you want to put on your essay
Shinichiro who still stood behind you, who usually had no clue what you were saying whenever you spoke brazilian but this sure as hell gave "screw this" vibes
Letting out a chuckle he brings both his hands to your tense shoulders and kneads at them before kissing the top of your head, "it's cute when your mad and speak in your native language" he feels you squirm and whine in response to that sending him a small glare before looking back at your screen
"We'll do just that one essay tonight and let's get you to bed, the others aren't due for a couple more days anyway" he adds as he grabs a chair to sit next to you
bonus:
"So what'd ya say earlier?" shinichiro yawns sleepily his head down and cheeks squished by the kitchen table
"Fuck this shit"
"Figured," he laughs, "Damn my portugese really do be on point these days"
Tumblr media
mikey
for mikey you're pretty sure you told him but he ends up forgetting so the first time he heard you swear in a dif language (which he doesnt know is a swear ) he was shookt
like eyes wide looking like a shocked pikachu
at first he starts to think he just didn't hear you properly or he wasn't paying attention or that you just mispronounced a word but then it happens again and again
thinks its sum sercret code you aren't telling him and he gets pouty over that
you tell him its cause you have a habit of code switching into languages when ur in a mood
feels betrayed you never told him but you remind him that yes you did tell him and he mustve forgot
asks you to teach him basic greetings and sum swearing
thinks some words are cute and fun to say so he uses them a lot and brags he knows how to speak in brazilian portugese
he goes "oh this?" "it's portugese, ya my s/o taught me" "cool right?"
Today was a saturday and you and mikey normally spend them alternating from each of your houses to chill and hangout but what turned into you two just hanging out chilling turned into a family reunion he wasn't expecting.
It started with a phone call from your mother, who had went on a trip abroad to visit your auntie and her other siblings since she and her family had grew up in Brazil and mikey only just found out about that fact a few moments he had learned you could speak the said language.
"Mama!" you beamed just as you picked up the call, mikey by the back goes oh and shouts, "Auntie (M/n)! Tell her I said hi!"
"Mikey says hi," you tell your mom who you put on speaker and says hello back. A ruckus could be heard on the background and a voice asking "quem e mikey?" (who's mikey) only for your mother to respond "o namorado da minha filha" (my daughter's boyfriend) to which sounds of gasps and excitement and some hushed whispers could be heard from the other line
You laugh, "was that Auntie?" the response only met with the person in question
"(Y/n) hello〜" you hear the voice of your aunt chime to which you do the same before loudly greeting, "Tia!" (Auntie)
Exchanges were made and Mikey hears you hum in response before saying, "Tudo bem," (everything's great) before glancing back at him with a smile to which he smiles back patiently waiting on you like a puppy and then you add, "E voce" (what about you?)
From there the conversation had stretched on from there and Mikey could feel himself disassociating with every foreign word as he looks around confused, he pouted cause all he wanted was a saturday to spend time with his s/o but then again he thinks when the last tike you had even talk to your aunt was that mustve been long too so he forces himself to patiently wait since he knew family really is priority
and seeing you so happy, carefree and speaking so naturally despite it a language that was foreign to him had him smiling, he cant deny the way that your happiness brings him happiness too
Soon you had sat on the bed back with mikey who had laid his head on your lap rubbing his head on your belly
"Tchau tia" you say while running a hand through your boyfriend's hair
"Tchau my lovely niece ," she replies back but not a second later
"Mikey kun tchau tchau, sorry you had to wait long" she adds making you laugh and mikey to perk up from his place on your lap
"s-sem problemas" (no problem) he says looking at you if he's said it right to which you happily nodded
your aunt was amazed and complimented his skills and for being so smart which boosted his ego quite the bit (you swear your aunt exaggerates too much)
As soon as the call ended mikey snuggled back into you "can we hangout now?" mikey asks with a pout, "felt left out a while back now take responsibility" you laughed at that and mikey sat up to your confusion.
"So tchau tchau means bye right?" mikey asks with a serious face to which you respond with a hum
"thought it ws adeus hmmmmmm i like tchau tchau better," he says before going back to his position on your lap
bonus:
After mikey met up with draken for a little lunch discussion and both had to leave mikey saw his opportunity.
"ken-chin tchau tchau!" he waved before driving off
draken who stood with a confused face muttered the words, "tchau tchau? the hell is that?"
Tumblr media
chifuyu
thinks its really cool you could speak brazilian portugese or like a different language in general
loves it but once again this boy is in the clueless squad with shinichiro whenever he does hear you speak it
boy really be lost sometimes
and no he's not talking bout those one-liner phrases but those full on rants you have in the language
the boy would have to rely on your facial expressions and actions to see if what you were going on about is a good or bad thing though sumtimes he can't really tell anymore
first time he heard you speak said language he was wundering if he had heard you right or if you even were talking to him
you were muttering on about something and he hadn't quite the clue so he was just intently watching you while you murmur to yourself
to be honest he'd be more curious and intrigued than shocked when he finally pieced that you infact were speaking in a different language
one of your bonding moments include word of the day where he'd ask you what random objects you guys had in your language and stressing over pronounciation and intonations
You were pacing around your room with your phone in hand muttering in portugese, that was the state chifuyu found you in when he unexpectedly came over to hangout which had been approximately 15 minutes ago.
To anyone else, it might've been a weird sight but having known you and your quirky habits he had grown accustomed to it.
Though the first time he did see you pacing around the room muttering in a foreign language he thought you were performing some sort of ritual though he knew well enough now that it was a worrying habit you had. That whenever you were uncertain of something or if you stressed yourself over something too much then a switch would flip inside of you, your brazilian switch, because you thought more rationally whenever you were more in a comfortable state, a state which feels at home to you
So knowing you were worried about something but not knowing what that something was about sent chifuyu at unease. So the last 15 minutes he had spent waiting in confusion waiting for you to spill the beans whenever you were ready
"Se voce fizer isso," (if you do this) you started, "voce vai se foder..." (you might fuck it up/ get yourself in trouble)
After letting out a whine you lay back flat on your bed with on of your arms covering your eyes
"calmed down yet?" chifuyu asks and you shake your head no
"can you tell me why you're worried this time?" he pries a little
"i did a stupid" he hears you say
"A stupid?" he tries to see if you would start spilling, honestly a little curious what "stupid" you did to make you go so fussy about
"eu nem sei" (i dont even know)
"hey hey I won't be able to understand if you start code switching now"
"dont laugh" you pouted before looking him straight in the eye as you sat up
"why would i laugh"
"because!" the event seemed to have rushed back into your head as you whined and buried yourself in your pillows out of embarrassment.
"c'mon now (y/n)" chifuyu says as he tugs on you but you only hugged into your pillows tighter.
"I sent in the wrong assignment," you say and chifuyu stops his tugging and runs a hand through his hair and leans back on your bed
"it's not that ba- "I accidentally sent in my Iwaoi fanfic instead and I can't unsend because its locked in!" you exclaimed burying your head a muffled, "now my teacher is gonna know I ship them! and-and aaaaaaaaaa" your scream muffled by the pillow, "I can't anymore aaaaaaaaaaaa this Ruim pra caralho" (fucking bad)
Chifuyu couldn't take it anymore and a laugh escaped his lips as he pat down on his distraught s/o who only whined at him more and swore in her native tongue at how he was laughing at her.
Tumblr media
I'm really sorry for having this kinda rushed but to all my bilingual and multilinggual babies out there a question for you! What triggers you into code switching or what triggers you to speak in your native language? Enjoyed? Leave a tip :)

Levi : Does He Like Women?
I'm pretty sure that if you've been in the Attack on Titan fandom for a while, you've heard about 'proof' of Levi being gay from an interview with Isayama. Let's dive a little bit into it, and determine whether or not is this true.
The interview quoted is from a Bessatsu Manga fan event, it is most likely a question from an event called 'Another Maga Thanksgiving 2014' (most likely because I read a comment stating so, but when I searched up the terms no official sources stated the interview, only fans did)
The only source of this particular dialogue was from a tweet by the user @ b5559247 replying to @ aira_toka
Tumblr media
Here's the 'original' Japanese transcript:
Q.リヴァイ兵長の好きな女性のタイプを教えてください。
"Rivai Heichō no sukina josei no taipu o oshietekudasai."
A.女性が好きなんですかねえ…?…小さい人って背の高い人を好きになるじゃないですか…。もしかしたら背の高い人が好きかもしれません。
"Josei ga sukinandesu ka nee ....? ....Chīsai hito tte senotakai hito o sukininaru janaidesu ka…. Moshika shitara senotakai hito ga suki kamo shiremasen."
The most common English transcript used for that is:
Q: What type of woman does Levi like?
A: Does he like women, though ... Short people tend to like taller people, so it's possible that he likes tall people.
A lot of fans, at the time mostly 'fujoshis', interpret this as Levi being BL/gay. Some others think he is ace/aro or bi/pan.
Tumblr media
However, there are other lesser-known translations for the Q&A. I'm not a native Japanese speaker nor am I proficient at the language.
However other people translate the line :
"Josei ga sukinandesu ka nee...?"
as
"What type of woman does he like, huh...?" (repeating the original question as a rhetorical) instead of "Does he like women, though...?"
This one is based on context, taking into consideration the Q line. Also the ending 'ka nee?' is, although not a formal ending, used mostly as a rhetorical, like adding ' ..., right?' or '...., isn't it?' at the end of a sentence.
Tumblr media
The word 'moshika shitara' is also used, which means 'probably', so Levi 'probably' likes tall people. The term 'people' was not an attempt to discreet Levi being gay by the translator, the interview sincerely uses 'hito', which means human with no definitive gender.
The language used may be suggestive, or Isayama never really thought about it and had to make up a sort-of answer during the interview.
I will remind you again that this interview has never been stated in any official sources - only the fans have been spreading it around, therefore it cannot be taken as 'canon proof' as interviews could be fabricated by fans or taken out of context. AoT Editor Kawakubo Shintaro has asked and advised not to take everything mentioned at some fan events as strictly canon, as some things mentioned may be subject to change. Since most of the time these questions are asked in an informal manner, fans are asked to take this information as not strictly canon.
In the Ilse Langnar OVA 'Ilse's Notebook', there was a scene in which Hange, known to be the closest person to Levi, had the following conversation with Oruo :
H :"Let's say that, hypothetically, Levi's trying to kill you. Kill you dead. What would you do? Can you fight and beat him?"
O : "No way. That'd be impossible. Also, I can't breathe."
H :"Let me tell you how to win. You do the research. You figure out where he goes, the food he dislikes, the girls he likes, and how many times he goes to the bathroom."
Hange's statement in the anime hints that Levi does like women. After all could it be that someone so close to him not know his sexual preference? Not to mention that Hange is extremely observant - there's no way they'd miss something like that about Levi, right?
Well, sadly, in the canon manga this scene never existed. It was probably only added by WIT to extend the runtime of the OVA. I have no idea if Isayama has a say in how his manga is being adapted, so it could be that he approved the dialogue, or not. It's very unclear.
But what about LeviHan/EreRi/EruRi/Rivetra (or most recently, Levi x Zeke)? Well, those are all fanon ships since there is no official statement from Isayama. There is nothing wrong with shipping him, with whichever character you'd like, but keep in mind that it stays fanon and he still has no canon lover.
There are some people who states that Isayama confirmed that Levi has never had a crush (suggesting he is aromantic), but my efforts to find the original source came up null. Levi, however, has no canon love interest in the manga.
If Levi is aromantic, what about the Ackerbond? Well, first and foremost, the Ackerbond isn't confirmed to be real, and if it was, the Ackerbond is a heightened sense of trust and loyalty, not romantic love specifically.
Conclusion:
The entire research and thread has proved inconclusive - that Levi's sexuality has never been confirmed, nor does he have any lover that would indicate something.
Personally, I'm more a fan of asexual Levi, take it with a grain of salt, but you can headcanon him as anything you want or ship him with anyone you like.
If you'd like to correct something with citation and sources or add your opinion, please do so, but nicely and respectfully. I know this is a pretty controversial topic, and any insights would be welcome.

The Vacation (Kamilah & Amy) - Part 1
I was thinking... I love Amy x Kamilah relationship but we don't get a lot normal time. Always a drama, they don't have time where are they alone. Don't get me wrong, there was some scenes... I just thing they deserve free time without drama, saving the World or any type of life threating situations. This is just how I imagine they were hanging out, traveling and enjoying each others company.
Story is composed shortly after book 3, before Kamilah leaves work.
Warning: Hint of smug, fluff. I'm not native english speaker, feel free to correct me (i would be actually glad).

Amy was sitting on the couch in their new apartment. Deep in thoughts. She was thinking about past few monts, about Kamilah and their relationship, how much changed, how Kamilah makes her live brighter, how much stress in work is Kamilah having. And than it hits her.
Amy: "We have almost no time for each other... I wish we can be alone for few days, enjoy life, have a little adventure."
Amy: "I wish i can take her somewhere... Just Kamilah and me, no drama, no life - death decisions... Maybe we can plan some trip. But she always declines, she has no time now when is she searching for someone to pass Ahmanet Financial as new CEO..."
Amy frowns her eyebrows, and she is starting to be frustrated and angry.
Amy: "Screw it! I have savings. I just buy a tickets and we go anywhere! I have relatives in Prague. I know Prague very well, i can show her hide places tourists don't know, don't tell me she saw everything!"
Amy buys tickets. She reserve really nice apartment in center and write Kamilah. She was hoping Kamilah would say yes. Airplane leaving in 3 hours, but she doesn't care. This is what both of them need.
Tumblr media
Amy pack most important things for both of them and call taxi to airport where she needs to meet Kamilah.
Kamilah is already waiting there. She looks at Amy with question in here eyes. She don't like surprises and scenarios running in her minds.
Kamilah: "Amy what is going on? You are going somewhere?"
Amy: "Actually..."
She looks at her wife with love and amusement. She see clearly Kamilah is little bit upset.
Amy: "WE ARE going to Prague, for vacation."
Kamilah: "Amy... I - ..."
Amy: "Wait, before you say no, let me explain. We don't have time for each other lately. I mean we never have. We are planning the honeymoon in few months. You seem so stressed about work and about leaving Ahmanet Financial. I just wanted enjoy some private time, only you and me. We need break for everyone and everything."
Amy look in Kamilah eyes and Kamilah know she cant resist any longer. She see how Amy is happy and hopeful.
Kamilah: "Alright my love. But you could tell me sooner."
Amy jump into Kamilah embrace and give her sweet long kiss.
Amy: "I know its impulsive and i don't give you time for decision, but i promise you it will be perfect vacation for both of us. I planed the whole week. We need to go now, there is a plane to catch."
They go through the airport, already sitting in their seats.
Kamilah: "You know i have like 10 private jets and pilot? We did not have to go in economy class."
Amy: "I know Kam, but it was surprise and its actually fun this way. Wait... You never travel in economy class?"
Kamilah: " I guess I never did."
Amy: " It is not that bad, i promise."
Amy kiss Kamilah jaw.
Amy: "I love you so much. I was dreaming about this..."
Kamilah: "You did? You could say anything! You know i give you everything you want. I love you too."
Amy: "I didn't want to bother you. I now you are under a lot of stress and pressure."
Amy move closer to snuggle with Kamilah and whisper so only Kamilah could hear.
Amy: "And i was always thrilled to make out on airplane... I think i need help with something in toilet... Care to join?"
Amy smirk at Kamilah and slide her hand to Kamilah side. Kamilah raise an eyebrow. Kamilah eyes flash in red for second.
Kamilah: "Lead the way."
Amy stand up and pull Kamilah by hand. Amy look in every direction so noone cant see them when they enter the toilet. Kamilah turn to door and lock them.
Amy push her Kamilah against the door. Amy's hand wondering at Kamilah belly.
Kamilah: "Hmm, my dirty, dirty girl."
Kamilah tries to escape, but Amy hold her hand above her head.
Amy: "Shh... This trip is about making you feel good. Starting..."
Amy unboton Kamilas pants and slightly touch her abdomen. Kamilah gasp, lean her forehead to cold material of door. Try to gain some self-control. Amy turn Kamilah around, so she can face her and kiss her hungrily. By one hand still holding Kamilahs hand above her head and with other...

Do you have any sort of, words of encouragement, for a Greek-American who is struggling to learn Greek? My family is pretty connected to our heritage but I was never taught to speak Greek. I am an adult now, and I know I'm at an incredible disadvantage trying to learn a new language. The most discouraging thing is when I try to pronounce a word with a sound that isn't really in English (like γ) and I KNOW I am not saying it right, but no matter how hard I try I can't pronounce it correctly.
Hello! I'm very sorry for delaying this answer for some days, but as we see here, Zeus was fucked this week 😅
I will pin my answer so you can see it when you return, and the rest will be under the cut.
I believe there are MANY reasons for hope in this situation. Of course it feels very discouraging that you don't know the language already and you might feel left behind in this process. Plus, learning a new language is not an easy thing to learn. But worry not!
You are grown, and that means you can learn a language better and with more consistency and discipline. Have trust in your skills as an adult. What is more, you have grown up around Greek speakers and you will pick up certain things faster.
You are not alone in feeling this way. Most of the world has to learn a second language (and a third, as it's usual for many) and that would be the language most dominant in the wider area. Almost every person in the West who is not an English speaker has to learn English and learn it well, otherwise we feel embarrassed every time we try and form a sentence. For example, we apologize to each other about our accents in English German and French, even though we speak Greek.
Surely there are some differences between your situation and ours, but I mentioned this to show you that most people will be very understanding with accents because they have the same struggle. I mean, I'm not going to make fun of someone for having an accent in Greek when I sound like a demented chicken in German, despite taking years of lessons 😵 I have more confidence in my English but even now that I'm writing to you in this language I have to quadruple-check my sentences and phrasing. The amount of times I apologized in advance for my accent to English speakers is higher than my credit.
I relayed your situation to other Greek speakers and non-English speakers, and ALL agreed the accent is not anything they would pay attention to and told me to write you that you shouldn't feel bad about that. I did that because I knew they would have words of encouragement for you. And it turns out they believe exactly what I'm writing in this answer.
Accents are natural. You cannot expect not to have an accent when you have been speaking a different language all your life. Beating yourself up for having difficulty with the Greek pronunciation is like beating yourself up for something normal like walking or laughing when hearing something funny. You lack practice with the pronunciation due to circumstances beyond your control. You are doing what you can to change that, and every small win is worth celebrating!
I found this post the other day:
Tumblr media
The notes? The likes?
Tumblr media
And NO disagreements in the comments and reblogs for OP’s statement! Look how many thousands are supportive in this! (And that’s a small fraction of people who understand accents are natural.) And some of the responses:
Tumblr media
Sure, some mention they have met native speakers who made it more difficult to feel comfortable with their accent and phrasing. But those people are assholes in general, and not the people you want to surround yourself with. If a relative expresses disgust about your accent remind them you didn’t have any control of how much and how well you were taught Greek when you were a kid, and then tell them that if they are a true friend and relative to you, they should support you in your journey. And even if you had some control and chose not to learn, you are learning now. So they should leave their resentment behind because, honestly, what do they have to lose from you learning the language better??
For the embarrassment you feel for yourself: you wouldn't make fun of a Greek for having trouble with the “r”, "s", “ch”, and possibly the "h" when speaking English, so extend that kindness to yourself when you speak Greek. Not to mention that with enough practice and time you can nail the accent!
Worst case scenario, if the accent never leaves, that's no problem whatsoever. Anyone who thinks badly of you for your accent is probably a PoS and they don't deserve your time. No matter where you are from, if they make you feel bad for having an accent in Greek, block them from your mind forever.
But chances are that (from experience) if anyone laughs with how you said something, I guarantee they are not laughing at you but because of how strange the sound or phrasing was. The person doesn't think badly of you because of this. Making mistakes of any kind when learning a language is very natural and it's something everyone must accept. If you are not willing to make mistakes and expose your language vulnerabilities to people who know the language better, might as well not try improving at all.
If anyone corrects you, they are not doing it out of pity. The majority of Greeks do it because they are very happy you speak the language and want you to be even more fluent. Like, they are doing it as an act of backing you up, they are feeling like they are giving you that extra XP to reach the next level! Others - like me - get that rush of happiness when they get to share their language with others 😁
I remember a guy on Tiktok who was learning Greek and ordered a coffee "without sugar" in a Greek cafe but instead of saying σκέτο ("without") he said σκατά ("shit"). I mean damn that was funny! I remember it weeks after I saw the video of him telling that story and it always cracks me up. Do I still appreciate him the same as before and follow him? Absolutely! He just had an unfortunate - and funny - incident, not something that lessened his integrity as a person.
From tiktok again: An American girl wanted to pronounce γύρος correctly when ordering it, and she was mumbling to herself on camera: “yeero, yeero, yeero!!” When her time to order came she shouted “May I have a gairow? FUUUUCKK FUUCK FUCK I SAID IT WRONG” 🤣
Another example is Athena from the Bachelor 2! She has given some gems throughout the show because she doesn't know the language that well, but everyone still loves her because she spreads positivity and is so cute!! If we, as viewers, disliked her it would be because of her character, not because she doesn't know the language well. And if some of the other girls in the show don’t take her seriously is because she laughs too much and mentions feta too often, not due to her Greek level of literacy. Athena, even when she is hurting someone else’s feelings, is always so genuine and you just can’t be mad at her!
I really can’t stretch enough how people laugh at the mishap, not the person! Please don’t feel discouraged if you ever see a Greek laughing with the pronunciation of an English speaker when it comes to Greek words (which I have done as well) because we never laugh at the speakers. We don’t even know them! We might laugh at one mistake but then instantly want to become this individual’s friends because we think they are amazing (see the three examples I mentioned above, the sugar guy, the gyro girl and Athena). Because that’s the normal thing to do; laugh at fun stuff and not judge people for their small mishaps. (In a casual setting, and not to an uncomfortable degree ofc!)
There are so many things to a person other than their accent and the accent becomes old news really fast. What remains is how the presence of a person makes you feel and if they are a good individual. If an English speaking friend says yatakai instead of γατάκι that opens the way for sooo many jokes! Greeks will laugh, do some YATAKAAIIII screams - ninja style, and then continue being friends with that person!
Greeks makes these mistakes as well... A Greek once said "arrive arrive" (φτάνει φτάνει) instead of "enough" when an English speaker was filling his glass. A Lower English degree caught fire that day 🤣 I have many bad examples of Greeks’ mistakes in English but I can’t remember a lot. But I’ve seen many videos of Greeks mocking themselves for how they sound in English. You can take a look at Tsipras’ (our former prime minister) mistakes on youtube if you are feeling brave 😂 (Ο Τσίπρας μιλάει Αγγλικά)
So, own your possible mistakes, laugh at them and move on because everyone makes them and we better have some good while we are struggling!
(( For the record, we are not making fun of Tsipras because of his accent, but because 1) he doesn’t know γρι English and yet he rarely brought a translator with him in international meetings with world leaders, 2) he could absolutely not hold a conversation with negotiating or discussing 3) he didn’t take steps to improve or fix the situation (like bring a translator). 4) Instead, he chose to torment us all with mind-numbing hours of reading English texts and making other world leaders struggle to explain to him what they meant for the nth time and meetings move at a snail pace.))
Alright, now that I cringed with the memory of Tsipras speaking English, I’ll go though the recommendations for improving the Greek pronunciation.
1) Go to my resources for learning Greek (#learn greek) where I have many videos where you can hear the sounds individually or withing other words very clearly. Easy Greek on youtube has excellent videos about pronunciation!
2) Seek practice as much as possible. Some Greeks switch to English when they hear an English accent to make the conversation smoother for the other person. If Greek speakers insist on talking with you in English tell them that you would wish to speak in Greek. I've seen that people often mirror the accent of the native speaker when they speak to one, so this might work for you as well with hours of practice. If no Greek speakers are available to you now, you can find Greek Americans online – or go to their festivals – and start talking to them.
3) Listen to Greek podcasts, songs and shows. (In my blog you’ll find them at #greek youtuber #podcast #greek tv #greek movie #short film #greek music). You know when you hear a catchy foreign song and then it’s stuck in your head and you say all the words perfectly without even knowing what it means? Well, this helps with pronunciation!
4) If you had Spanish in school or have Spanish friends mimicking the Spanish accent might help you. (Our accents are extremely close! The Spanish are the best at Greek pronunciation, and vice versa!)
5) Find sounds in your native language that sound close to the sounds you want to say in Greek. In German lessons I had trouble with “ch” in certain words because I made it sound like χ and it was horrible. My Greek teacher told me to remember how χ sounds in χήνα (it sounds a bit flatter) and make that sound when I encountered “ch”. It worked actually!
To people who have English as their native language I often suggest they remember the sound of w for γ because, although not used the same in the word, at times they have the same intensity. Γ is pronounced more “to the front” of the mouth, so if you can bring that sound forward in your mouth you’ll be very close, if not accurate, to γ. (But don’t bring it too much forward, sometimes it can sound like a “y”, unless you are saying a word where γ sounds like “y”).
Greeks pronounce σ more closely to “sh” than to “s”, so you also might want to keep that in mind since σ often distinguishes the Greek accent in English for me :p
That’s all! If you have more questions or want to tell me anything else about your experience with learning Greek, feel free to send another ask or a DM!

Hi I've been trying to learn the Japanese language for quite a while, I've been using Memrise and NHK Japan but i am having trouble with their grammar and I'm not sure if I ever made progress. Now, I don't know what's my next step to improve. Do you have any recommendations? I hope u had a good day :>
And to no one's surprise. I wrote an actual novel on the topic.
I'll give you some resources but I recommend trying out different kinds to see what works for you. Learning about your own learning style may also help--for example, I'm a very hands-on learner so I can read about grammar rules all day but until I actually try to put together my own sentences using those rules and get some feedback on what's right and what's not, I Will Not be able to use those rules effectively. Also I have no motivation so I don't study on my own unless I'm working towards a goal (such as the JLPT or answering an ask)
I started with the Pimsleur program, recorded audio lessons that were at my library to check out. You'll learn phrases mostly, but it does not go into detail about grammar and you will learn nothing about writing. If you're mostly concerned about grammar you can definitely skip this one. You can try programs and apps like Duolingo, Rosetta Stone. etc. Duolingo is a bit better about grammar rules and stuff but depending how in-demand the course is, it might not explain anything (try the PC version if it doesn't). I personally think apps like this are good for basic grammar and stuff but once you get more advanced you need More.
Textbooks are actually not a bad way to self-study. I used Genki in my first 2 years of Japanese at university and it's supposed to be one of the best. There's also so so many resources online now. Follow some blogs and get bite-sized tips during your leisure time.
Now, for how I like, Actually learned a lot of my Japanese before I started learning it in organized classes. Listen to music, look through the lyrics, pick out some words you hear a lot and look them up. Watch drama/anime/movies/etc and do the same. Or just put on the subs and don't really pay attention to the audio. I generally have a pretty good ear for pronunciation and intonation already but I attribute how often I get comments on my pronunciation to how much time I spent in my weeb days just hearing naturally-spoken Japanese even if I wasn't totally paying attention. I always recommend exposing yourself to as much content as possible, even in the early stages of learning.
I've got some general study tips on my blog (search studytips) that should help. If nothing else, remember to not burn yourself out. Learning vocab for 5 minutes a day is better than studying 2 hours one day ond taking a 2-month break.
One thing I might not have mentioned in those tips that I feel like more people need to be aware of: a lot of programs are like "learn naturally by immersion like you learned your native language! Just hear phrases and you will Understand the grammar eventually!" okay but like your brain goes through a critical period for language learning when you're like 2. You are (presumably) no longer 2. Your brain is not the same as it was when you were 2. You should not expect to learn the same way as you did then. I read somewhere that being able to learn rules is the one advantage the adult brain has over a child's brain when it comes to second language learninp. So what this means in practice is: when you come across some grammar thing you don't get, don't let people tell you "oh you'll get it in time, you'll just Know." Look that shit up! What's the difference between は wa and が ga? There a literal list of rules you can memorize! (I don't have a link, it was a handout from one of my classes, sorry!) Familiarizing yourself with English grammar even helps to learn how to apply those rules to a new language. Learn the difference between a subject and an object and all that good stuff. You have different resources now as a not-2-year-old so use them!!
Finally, some resources I personally use:
Kanji draw (app): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.lusil.android.kanjidraw.jlpt5 (not sure if there's an IOS version sorry)--like flashcards for kanji but makes you actually write it, and with correct stroke order which I promise makes them easier to remember (and this was the only app I found that actually checks you for accurate writing). It has some algorithm for how often you see each character that is fantastic for memorization--more often when you first learn a character and after you get it wrong, less often once you know it well, introduces new characters gradually but keeps the old ones in rotation for a while so you never get thrown into a set of 20 completely new kanji.
find you a good dictionary app--I can't find the one I use on the app store but I can search in kana/kanji or romaji or English, any conjugation of a verb or adjective, and find what I'm looking for. Also has a kanji lookup tool with radicals.
Google translate--yeah, for real. I use this one when I want to scan a large section of text for something specific. Or when I'm writing a long sentence that I want to doublecheck. Also has a kanji lookup tool you can handwrite in, and of course don't forget the camera translation tool.
honyakustar (website)--a website with a lot of sentences in both Japanese and English. I use it All The Time to figure out how a word is actually used in practice--what particles it uses, if it's formal or informal, if it's stative or dynamic, collocations, etc.
Hellotalk (app)--it's super well known, just google it. A social app for chatting with native speakers of your target language.
Common Japanese Collocations by Kakuko Shoji (book)--collocations are words that "go" together naturally. We say "take" a bath, Japanese says "enter" a bath (お風呂に入る). This book is a good reference for looking up these collocations.
The Basics of Japanese Grammar: Verbs (book)--I downloaded this on my nook in high school for like 2 dollars and 50 cents give or take and it pleased my rule-oriented brain greatly. just has like all the verb conjugations with short explanations and example sentences and stuff.
Thanks for your question! Feel free to ask me anything!💕

Hey. I'm British, and my TL is German. I score equally with the native speakers in my class on exams, and I'm at a C1(ish) standard. Here's the thing : My boyfriend is German, but I can't ever speak German to him, because he just laughs at my pronunciation, and corrects every other word - even though my German teacher (who is also native German) says I speak fine. It's made me so self-conscious, and as well as refusing to speak German to him, I'm now also reluctant to speak at all in lesson :(
Oh I’m so sorry to hear this!!!!
Sorry not sorry but your boyfriend is a jerk! Tell him to stop doing this! That’s rude. It’s normal to make mistakes and he should know this. (God, I wanna kick his ass srsly.)
When I speak French/English to native speakers, I want them to correct me if I say something wrong. I’m thankful when they do it - but it depends on HOW they do it. It has happened to me that people corrected me in a very rude way and this made me very angry, which is normal! I stopped giving a fuck about those people tho, they’re stupid ***holes. When this happens to me, I say to myself: “Okay, maybe they feel great when they laugh at me and are rude, but they’re actually just very stupid and poor souls. I won’t let them make me feel shitty.” It’s not always easy but I think that’s the right thing to say to yourself in that kind of situation.
Please don’t stop talking in class! I have made this mistake in high school. I was a very good French student but I was so afraid of making mistakes that I never said anything and now I regret this. It’s not your native language, you are allowed to make mistakes. Look at your level, you have come so far and it’d be a pity to stop talking now. I understand how you feel but continue to speak in lesson. It’s so important. Don’t let this stop you! Youl can always come to my inbox and vent if you want to!!
