It’s bonkers how Liz and Ressler can literally have sex and then still be on a last name basis with each other. Even Red calls her Elizabeth lmao. But seriously, if K—nler is endgame, is this really the writers’ idea of romance? Barely any buildup, BOOM they have sex, then these awkward, forced ‘moments’ between them? *deep sigh* Idk, maybe I’m being harsh, but I guess I feel like the least they could do (if they won’t give us Lizzington) is give us something decent to watch. What are your thoughts/theories on this mess?

Hello, dear anon!! ❤️ Firstly, omg, I know!! All the “Hey, Keen.” and “What, Ressler?” is so intensely romantic 🙄🙄🙄 The thought of Red calling Liz just “Keen” is so laughable to me. As you so rightly say, he at least calls her by her full name, which is much more telling imo than any robotic surname crap. (Plus, he would never call her “Keen” bc it’s her fake name from her fake marriage to her fake husband, but I digress.) Regardless of whether it’s Lizzie or Elizabeth or Agent Keen, it still sounds like music coming out of Red’s mouth. Whether that music is a funeral march or a symphonic poem... well, it varies 😒

ANYWAY you make such a good point!! If we’re striving to be objective (which is a pretty unobtainable goal for me at this point), there is  n o t h i n g  inherently romantic about K**nler. I’m sorry, but to me - no matter which way you slice it - there’s been absolutely NO romantic coding with these two over SEVEN SEASONS, really only a handful of scenes together at all that mostly consist of “STOP! FBI!”, and very few personal/meaningful moments. And of those VERY FEW moments, they all appear to me as platonic/work friends/colleagues. And listen, I’ve always liked Ressler and Liz as BFFs. Liz always offered a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on about Audrey in the good ol’ days and Ressler did the same about T*m, plus I’ve always loved how Ressler offered to “rough him up” in that gruff, brotherly way. There was never any jealousy between them at their respective romantic partners, like there always is with those Will They/Won’t They ships. And I think pilot!Ressler hating Liz’s guts gradually morphing into them being best buds over the ensuing seasons is super cute. But it’s never screamed “romance” to me. There’s been no anticipation, no build-up, no close calls, no nothing. My prime ship example for that sort of thing is Caskett from Castle. They spent 4 seasons building those two up with plenty of close calls and jealousy keeping them apart for as long as they physically could before they finally came together with fireworks. There has been zero of that with K**nler. (Lizzington on the other hand? Yes. Not to mention all the Lizzington suggestions FROM RESSLER: ”Sounds like someone’s jealous Uncle Red’s got a new crush”, “You in the dog house or something?” - but I’m slipping into my Lizzington googles, so I’ll stop there.) Not to mention I’ve never really liked Ressler as a character. Sorry, no shade to Diego, but it’s not exactly a dynamic character. And TPTB have a marvelous reputation of tabling characters until their designated plot lines and episodes, with no measurable growth or continuity in between, so it always feels forced to me. To just throw a long forgotten character - whose only role in the past 11 episodes has been driving around and answering phone calls to catch the weekly blacklister - in my face once a season and say, “LOOK, WE THOUGHT OF SOMETHING FOR THIS DUDE, REMEMBER HE CAN TALK?!” and expecting me to feel invested is wildly unrealistic imo.

In conclusion, anon, I don’t think you’re being harsh at all, rest assured that I have been much harsher in tags, DMs, and especially my own head about this so-called “romance”. I think you’re definitely correct that they could at least give us something decent to watch with time, a true romantic build-up, and a satisfying culmination. I mean, I know this is primarily an FBI-mystery-mythology-government-action-procedural-show but... AS SOMEONE ONCE RIGHTLY SAID, “I think it’s a love story.” and babe? ..... this ain’t it. I’m sorry, Lizzington remains the only pairing on this show that has had a veritable phone book of romantic tropes written for them, including - but certainly not limited to - tense undercover operations, dancing, jealousy at other partners, killing for each other, actual DECLARATIONS of LOVE,  T H E  L I S T  G O E S  O N, not to mention I’m of the steadfast opinion that they were the initial endgame for the show, and that’s a hill I am prepared to die on. I HAVE and WILL go down with this doomed ship until the end of my days. Amen.

As for my thoughts/theories on this mess, I am flattered that you’re interested enough to ask, and I think I probably gave you way more than you bargained for in the ^above^ rage!typing 😂 The only things I would venture to add are: 1) K**nler is a barely a ship by my admittedly high standards and, if it is indeed intended to be The Great Romance™ of the show, TPTB did a piss poor job of making it AT ALL satisfying 2) The current “plot line” is an inconsistently written, infuriating, OOC across the board, “twists” pulled out of a hat, PIECE OF CRAP mess, and I’m so over it and 3) I have genuinely no idea how they plan on digging themselves out of the sizable RED VS. LIZ hole CRATER they’ve dug themselves into and, if they plan on having even a mildly successful season 9, they had better claw their way out soon bc, by all accounts, pretty much nobody likes pathetically-evil!Liz and most are rooting for heart-of-gold-&-incredibly-sympathetic!Red in every single way. Sooooo... idk. I’m really bored by the whole RuSsIaN oPeRaTiVe arc and I wish we could fast-forward to the season finale to see if they plan on making any effort at all to improve the core relationship of the show, or if they have indeed given Liz up to mannequin-man and revenge-filled-rage-induced-mentally-unstable-out-of-left-field-evil-Kaplan-hallucinations and Red over to simply sad-lonely-romantic-tired-puppy-dog-who-deserves-better.

At any rate, thank you dearly for this ask, anon, it turns out I had a lot of negative feelings (surprise, surprise) that needed an outlet and I hope it wasn’t too painful to slog through!! Hey, Northshore! Welcome to a new section of the school newspaper. I've been fighting for a gossip blog for a hot minute now, and since the paper is dying down, Northshore is finally allowing it. 

But this isn't just any gossip blog.

This is the place where I'm gonna -try- to answer your most burning questions about Northshore couples in question.

All through anonymity and observation.

To start, let's meet the students. All names have been changed so identities can stay hidden. In the tinies we've got: J, A, and R. Then in the giants there is: D, C, G, K, and S.

Who's with who? Who hates who? Who's got some secrets under the surface? Come back next week.

"Full offense to Northshore, this sounds stupid as fuck." Janis huffed, tossing down the newspaper, letting it fall to the table. 

Karen looked at the small girl of Damian's shoulder.

"They can be fun when done right." Regina points out. "I say we check in next week and find out more about the students it's about."

Karen watched with amusement as her friends discussed gossip blogs and if they were any good.

Happy Friday, Northshore!

Wow, lots of you sent in info about J and D. Whether you've cracked the code on who they are or maybe you're just observant of two fellow students- there is no denying they're pretty affectionate.

Since we're on the topic, let's start with J and D.

Kisses. Lots of them.

Romantic, or just friends? The duo themselves give pretty mixed answers so we must take matters into our own hands and draw our own conclusions. J was seen skipping class on multiple occasions and hiding with D. I hope J has a good tutor. I could never miss that much info.

R and G are seen together. K seems like they're third-wheeling. Somebody get them out of there. K, if you need a sos, slip a note in the box bby. We've got you.

If you want to talk about PDA, look no further than A and C. Wow! A hello kiss, a kiss kiss, a GOODBYE KISS? They may not say it themselves but those two are definitely a fairytale couple.

A must be p r e t t y stupid because they were seen all this week studying with C. A kiss for every problem right? Hey, it's not a bad deal.

R was seen primarily with K this week, throwing off all previous theories.

Must have been a rough week for J. I'd imagine you've got to be stressed as hell to just break down randomly but guess what- they did. Lack of sleep? Hunger? S? Who knows what the culprit was.

But don't you worry, D was quick to whisk them off to someplace quiet.

Love to see it, I want a significant other like that.

The day they confirm their relationship is the day I expect a wedding invite.

I had definitively forgotten about supernatural until I saw it all over my dashboard in the year of our lord 2020 lmao like in my wholock days I tried to watch the show because everyone on my dash (is it still called dashboard?) was talking about it and I watched about 8 episodes before dropping it. But seeing it again on the dash was actually a happy surprise because the memes are too funny hahaha

I’m extremely shy irl and on the internet as well but I wanna say that  @janeturenne is one of the best authors ever and her fanfics are a blessing in my life; also @thebraxiatelcollection who brings awesome content to my dash and is also one of the best authors. Uhhh I guess I’m neutral about the current companions. They’re not my favorites but I don’t really dislike them - they had a lot of potential and chibs came up with some good storylines but did not develop them well in my opinion. I think Graham is a fun grandpa whom I’m going to miss when he leaves; Ryan is cool and could’ve done a lot more if the writers had kept a few things, it’d be awesome if he vlogged all of their adventures. He’s like the one I was curious to see more but sadly didn’t feel a connection; and Yaz, I hope she’ll keep growing and that her friendship with the Doctor will finally be developed to a level we can connect to her.

It sounds weird because with the fam it’s always ‘what I wish could have been’ because I never felt really connected to them :(

Ok... I don’t really ship Rey/Finn but I think it’s one of the sweetest ships ever, and if they ended up together I’d be happy. They love each other and are there for each other always so, yeah :D

I don’t know if I got the question right but it’s three things I wish I saw more in my main fandom? Well, if it’s that, then, 3 things about the Doctor Who fandom: 1) people having more civilized or light-hearted discussions about things. Like, I genuinely disliked an 8th doctor audio I listened once that my friends loved, and they made fun of me and we joked about it. Also once we were in a live twitch video playing among us and discussing doctor who, and then we got into a ship “discourse” as a joke and nobody really cared and just laughed because everyone knew it’s fictional shit so why get mad over it? 2) Doctor Who has a titanic amount of content, it’s all canon but at the same time it’s not, so who cares? If you want to listen to Big Finish audios and if you can afford it, then lisiten; if you can’t, it’s okay, no one has the right to tell you you’re less of a fan. Just tell them to fuck off; 3) The best way to keep fandom alive is by creating content. Here in my local fandom we have several podcasts dedicated to all areas of the whoniverse (the show, the expanded universe, the audios, etc), those old fandom websites who do serious work to bring news to the fans, people who make subtitles for the classic series (we don’t have it available here so they do their best to make it accessible to other fans), accounts dedicated to promoting dr who fans who create content, and we even have people making their own audiodramas with dw characters and writing book-lenght fanfiction to help explain the show to people who’ve never watched it, and a great variety of things. I’ve seen a few of these things in the international fandom, mostly by older fans, so I wish younger fans about my age who have the means to make this kind of stuff would make it too. Maybe there’d be less twitter drama out there lol

Time Lords do appreciate art, and have their own plays, but it’s just the same old and boring ones the young people don’t care about. The Master then created a shocking performance that was way ahead of its time and the older Time Lords were so appalled they banned him from writing and presenting plays and that’s his villain origin story

So I am an ENFP capricorn and my enneagram is 7w8! My behaviour with other really depends on my mood and on their personalities so other's image of me goes from "wow she is so friendly" to "wtf she is so conceited and manipulative". 1: Tell us about your current project(s) – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?

aaah, oh boy—well, given i literally have,,,ten+ wips right now, i guess i’ll just answer about my main two ongoing wips—

so time, wondrous time (continuation of ttm) as been going fairly well. i had to play around with my outline a lot (like,,,i originally had a chapter dedicated to obi-wan first, but then i was like ‘hm...i wanna wait a little before we explore that), and i still kinda shift around the pieces, but i think i’ve finally hit a pattern that i feel comfortable telling the story in! in terms of what i love most about it, i think it has to be that these are really just...little stories of tcw fam being domestic and happy? (just. i’m gonna make everyone so s o f t.)

and uh, i just released most ardently (pride & prejudice obitine au) yesterday, and so far, progress has been good! i’m already halfway finished writing the next chapter, so that’s exciting. i think what i love about this fic the most is just that,,,i mean. first of all. there are some scenes that i’m just d y i n g to get to, but i think that, looking at my outline, i’m excited to explore parts of the story that isn’t romance-centric. like, no one’s denying that pride & prejudice has a killer love story, but there’s also themes about family and class that i think is going to be interesting to re-translate into this fic. (idk i think there’s something to be said about how i’m incorporating certain villains in this story so...)

i think i rather like this last paragraph from northern light:

hm...i think my writing style tends to lean towards more dialogue, somewhat abrupt endings. very short sentences towards the end? i think? i’m not sure if people agree with that lol, and perhaps my style will change in another few weeks, but let’s see! 

20: Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?)

u h h h h, i think this is gonna be super niche and i am fully prepared to c r i n g e at this later, but! in terms of eiko from time, wondrous time. i mentioned a bit about how i kinda get super nervous about the idea of introducing an original character, especially,,,a padawan character? (come on caroline, who do you think you are? >:() 

so a long, long time ago, i had a different original character by a different name, and i treated her terribly (killed her because i was like ‘lol don’t know what to do with her’. you can tell i was influenced by george lucas because ‘lol female character dies because there’s no way she could have a fulfilling purpose now’.i was like 13 pls cut me some slack asdfsdfds i still cringe at everything i wrote from when i was like,,,13-15. i mean, proud of myself for getting super into writing, but. a c k. a c k. some stuff i am hella not proud of. like,,,again. 13 and full of raging hormones and existential angst, but...caroline what. that is all i’ll say). but anyways, i introduced eiko by mentioning she had a dark ponytail--and that was a trait that i had used with this other original character that i made as a 13 year old. then again, 13 year old me was also hecka sad (who wasn’t??), and i think that kinda translated into that character.

The Famous Five, Avatar the Last Airbender, the Vampire Diaries, Yugioh [none of these were ever uploaded anywhere lol], MCU, One Piece and the Gazette.

C. Who is your favorite character to write?

I'm honestly not sure I have one lol. I'd say any character from my three otps~

D. Do you prefer gen or romance?

Romance.

E. Have you ever written a crossover?

Nope. I have once imagined a Yugioh and One Piece crossover though lol idek why.

F. How long have you been writing fanfic?

Geez..... since High School so around hm.... 12 to 15 years?

I love writing chaptered fics so much lol I just rarely ever manage to finish them 😑

Lukewarm Rain (I think), 41 chapters and around 230k words.

Mostly just my otps or favorite characters.

Lukewarm Rain, I'm so damn proud of this fic I can‘t even put it into words.

K. Do you post WIPs or wait to post until the entire fic is written?

I used to post chapter by chapter but now I first write the whole fic before I post the story. It works better that way for me. One or two friends do get to read my drafts though, to point out inconsistencies etc.

L. What is your favorite fic idea that you don’t think you’ll ever write?

I mean I do want to write all my fic ideas eventually, so... but if I had to pick one, probably the Aoiki Shinigami AU. It's gonna be challenging af so we'll see how that goes...

M. How do you come up with titles? 

Oh boi 💀 I hate titles so much lmao I still don't have one for my Parenting AU and I'm 12 chapters in. I usually take inspiration from songs lol or use song titles tbh XD sometimes I manage to think of some aesthetically pleasing titles that somehow hint at the plot but rarely so.

N. How do you come up with summaries?

The second thing I hate the most about writing XD idk either I can think of something semi good or I'll just use some extract from a chapter and hope people will find it interesting enough to read the fic lol.

O. Is there any fandom you’ve been into that you haven’t written fic for? Why not?

Bungou Stray Dogs... I really want to write fics for it but I haven't come up with a good enough idea yet.

P. What are your favorite tropes to write?

I have so many hmm.... my favorite gotta be two idiots in love who don't know they are/are in denial or don't think the other reciprocates their feelings. Somehow that's far easier to write for me than people actually openly dating lol.

Q. If you could pick one fic of yours to rewrite, which would it be?

I mean most of my One Piece fics need rewriting lol. But I deleted most of them from the web anyway. I was considering rewriting some Law x Reader fics into Law x Luffy though~ also What Happens in Vegas needs a serious reworking lol it's so bad in some parts.

R. Would you ever write a sequel to any of your fics? Which one(s)?

I've been considering writing a one shot for Lukewarm Rain, yes. Other than that, no. I'm not really into sequels tbh.

S. What is your favorite pairing to write?

Aoiki.... I wanna write Lawlu and Soukoku too though but I haven't yet (´༎ຶོρ༎ຶོ`) also some other ships like Uruki, Reituha etc [also please note I use these ship names solely to indicate the two parts of the ships, not to say who "tops and who's bottom" since apparently everyone uses ship names that way lol. I just go for the most common ship name, that's all. I can‘t stand the top/bottom bs.]

T: Would you or have you ever written an unhappy ending?

I have yes XD a drabble in which Ace dies and a oneshot in which Law kills the reader LOL. But I would never writte unhappy endings for my otps. I hate sad endings.

U. Do you prefer AUs or canon compliant fics?

Depends on the fandom. Gazette definitely AUs, they're so fun to explore. One Piece and Bungou Stray Dogs I love canon compliant fics, there's so much to work with~

V. Do you prefer writing established relationships or first times?

First times! In one shots, established ones are cool too, but for longer fics I absolutely prefer first times~ I'm struggling a lot with open first time dating in my Parenting AU lol somehow it's so difficult for me to not include angst into the mix lol.

W. Have you ever written anything that you are embarrassed by today?

Yes. Lots of Mary Sues in One Piece fics. Thank god no one ever got to see those fics lmfao.

so, i do have some fave ships for my muses, and some which just does not have any ships set.

Sinbad

i don’t actually have a favorite ship for him, I’m partial to sinbad/serendine, but that one needs to be planned out well considering how messy and complicated it is. but this is one of the few times i’ve seen sinbad have any possible romantic inclinations towards anyone male or female in canon. 

i’m very open for him to be with others, regardless of their gender, the problem is if he can develop romantic feelings, it’s very rare in comparison to physical or intellectual attraction. 

Noctis

oh! i’m a complete sucker for promptis, the strong connection between these two is so important. prompto cares for noctis, not because he’s a royal, but just for himself. in one point of the game, noctis explains to prompto how he wises to bring down the walls and accept everyone into his kingdom to make it better along with prompto. 

luna of course, that’s a given, she’s a very strong individual, and between the two she probably has the strongest will. although the oracle, i feel like she was more king than noctis was at times, and noctis more than likely would not feel ashamed about that. instead, he’d feel proud, he cares deeply for her.

ignis, oh sweet ignis, if anyone else besides prompto who has seen noctis at his worst and at his best-- it’s this man. i am w e a k for this ship, of course, when i say ship i mean platonic or romantic, and that goes for ALL of my ships. i like their dynamic, how ignis keeps noctis centered, and how noctis can pull him into doing silly or fun things. and the man’s puns, they’re gold l ol

gladio, listen, this ship is underrated and underappreciated both as friends or more. i like the idea of them not just being workout buddies, well, as much as noctis can work out lol. he’s not weak, but he’s not strong as gladio. anyway, i like the idea of them just chilling together, like maybe gladio introduces him to new books, bc he’s such a bookworm, or even read out loud to him. this ship has the potential to be soft and i feel like that should be explored more.

Shuichi

kokichi, i like this ship pregame or ingame, and postgame. my postgame verse consists of it actually being a VR so that opens a fair amount of possibilities. i think, overall, they do complement each other well, tbh, is kaito and maki weren’t so hard on “don’t like to kokichi”, i think shuichi could have connected with him moreso or tried to understand him more. it’s just a fun dynamic.

kaede, this is classic, i feel, romantic or platonic, she’s bright and sure of herself and that’s something shuichi needs either in or out of the game. while i’m away that pregame kaede is not the same, she still has a stronger will than him, and i think it could give some balance.

kaito, specifically ingame or postgame, 

Ayato

shipping with ayato is difficult to being with, mainly due to how he perceives people and his own personality. he behaves more now, but he still has that uneasy feeling around humans that potentially makes it awkward. this is stronger the younger he is, generally i rp him during his 18-20 ish time. still, im open to plotting with him in the regard and crossovers, even ocs, it doesn’t need to be canon.

Judar

i thought ayato was difficult, this guy here is even more prickly, maybe, not i lied. anyway, i don’t have a super favorite for him in particular, if they click then they click. i do like hakuryuu, kougyoku, and a couple others, but generally-- chemistry is needed for this pesky child. 

Barry Allen

iris west, like they fit each other, iris and barry are that couple, so it’s kinda of hard to not like this ship. lol

leonard snart, a true weakness, barry and len are married in one of my verses so that goes to show how much i like this ship lol. 

Kougyoku

judar, idk why-- it just makes me smile at the idea for some reason. maybe i’m weird. this can also be seen as platonic, like all my ships, im good with just platonic or even antagonistic relationships.

aladdin- eh, only when he’s older, mainly because it seems like he’s genuinely interested in him. but like not high on my list.

alibaba-- i love, love their friendship okay? someone feed me this lovely duo

Narumitsu/Wrightworth- Ace Attorney series

i mean. this one. this one’s easy as hell. let’s start from the beginning. pheonix wright, 3rd grader, is accused of stealing the lunch money of miles edgeworth, aspiring lawyer and fellow 3rd grader. the class is awful to pheonix, saying that he stole the money without proving it in a mock trial. it gets to the point where even the teacher is telling him to apologize. this poor child is sobbing, trying to explain that he didn’t do it. suddenly, an objection. surprise bitches it’s the victim, miles edgeworth. “blah blah you can’t say he did it without any proof blah blah he shouldn’t have to apologize”. the class apologizes and pheonix is acquitted. this marks the start of their friendship. not too long after (a couple of years, at most?) miles’ dad and role model is murdered in a horrible incident (this is responsible for edgeworth’s fear of earthquakes which sucks since he lives in japanifornia). miles is now under the care of manfred von karma, abusive german asshole prosecutor who can die in a hole. this is where miles stops talking to pheonix (moving away to germany can do that) and decides to be a prosecutor with his newfound hatred of crime. skip to college. pheonix is in a horrible abusive relationship, the poor baby barely avoided death and was immediately accused of murder. guess who’s prosecuting this trial? miles mcfrickin edgeworth. and pheonix thinks “hold on. i know him!!! oh my god what happened????” after he is, once again, acquitted, pheonix makes the stupidest desicion in his life: to become a defense attorney. he stops going to art school and starts going to law school, just so he can meet this dude again and ask him what the hell happened to him. because if the stubborn asshole wouldn’t respond to his letters, he’d have to meet him in court eventually anyways. so pheonix becomes a lawyer. he’s... surprisingly good at it. then a case with edgeworth. and he wins!! super well!!! once again!! edgeworth is likely just “oh my god what the fuck???” idk tho since we play as pheonix, dumbass extroardinaire. anyways, in either this case or a later one (i do not remember) edgeworth comes up to pheonix after losing and essentially tells him “you’re making me feel things and i don’t like feeling things so get out of my court” (i mean literally. “saddled with unnecessary feelings, like unease and uncertainty” like bITCH??? YOU LOVE HIM D U H). and then edgeworth is accused of murder. pheonix immediately is at the detention center going “bitch let me defend you or so help me god.” miles, ever the confusing fuck, is just “no. not happening, absolutely not.” (there’s also a line where edgeworth goes “i... didn’t want you to see me like this” and in the remastered version pheonix deadass thinks “trust me, i didn’t want to see you like this, either” like b IT CH.) anyways a quick earthquake happens and once everyone’s settled, pheonix realizes he can’t see miles through the glass anymore. he stands up to look through the room and bam there’s edgeworth, on the floor trembling. this poor man. anyways pheonix is just “well i’m gonna defend u even if u don’t want me to so i’m gonna start investigating” and he does that and talks to edgeworth’s lovely detective pal, gumshoe, who explains edgeworth’s fear of earthquakes and also that after he lost his first trial against pheonix edgeworth was literally just saying “wright, wright, wright” and pacing u h m?? anyways eventually pheonix finds out that the case is related to the dl-6 incident, which is the one where edgeworth’s father dies. he goes back to the detention center and edgeworth’s all “well that’s what i didn’t want you to find out but now you know so sure defend me what the hell but you’re gonna lose” bc guess who’s prosecuting??? v o n k ar m a. anyways pheonix wins the trial, gets von karma convicted for murdering edgeworth’s father also bc dl6 was never actually solved and it’s funky fresh. edgeworth is all “i don’t know what to say,,,,” so maya, pheonix’s lovely assistant in the original trilogy, is all “try t h a n k yo u”

The Winter Soldier reeks, sweat and rust and dust, there’s dried blood beneath his fingernails and he can’t ever get it out. And then this Bucky. The current one, who who knows little of himself, but he tries goddamit, he tries. He smells like earth’s must after rain, he smells faintly of the exotic flowers he cares for in Wakanda, and nowdays, he smells like cologne again too. Not the thick heavy one he used to use, not with all these options around! He’s overwhelmed the first time he sets foot in a dpeartment store (Sam refuses to let him live it down), but eventually decides on a perfume instead of a cologne. It’s sour but soft, a discreet scent of cedarwood and some sweet flower, just enough to leave a gentle waft in the air as he passes by. This Bucky tries, and you can tell simply by the way he smells.

the position they sleep in: Again, depends on which Bucky we’re talking about. Pre war Bucky; he sleeps on his side, one hand under his head, the other extended usually towards Steve bc feeling his breath calms him During the war he doesn’t really sleep, merely rests his eyes. His back is rigid, his eyes scrunch up at the slightest of sounds. Adrenaline courses through his body day and night. As the Winter Soldier he....literally doesn’t sleep. When he’s out of the ice he just lets his brain go on auto-pilot, does what’s necessary, doesn’t even let his eyes fall shut for a moment until he’s back in that damn room and put back to a semi-eternal fleeting rest. As the current Bucky, he’s a mix of it all. He tries to sleep on his side again but finds that he feels too vulnerable. He can’t rest if he lays on his back, memories of war coming back to him all at once. Eventually he curls up, brings his knees to his chest, tucks his head close and finds he can get a semblance of sleep like that. It takes a while for him to properly sleep again, but when he does? Oh boy. He legit cried the first morning he woke up after a night of no interruptions and no nightmares. He didn’t even care to hide it, he was just so rested and in that moment, happy again.
