Rockstar Rivals
Rodrick Heffley x Reader
summary: Rodrick finally managed to book a gig, but upon arriving he finds out it's been double booked, and then he meets the girl he has to share the stage with. Just some fluff with some enemies to lovers undertones.
NOT PROOFREAD!
Tumblr media
Rodrick was pacing around in one of the rooms at the party he was going to be playing at with his band. ''Fuck fuck fuck!'' He exclaimed, mumbling and cursing to himself as he walked back and forth in the room his drumsticks tapping against his legs. ''How could this idot double book a gig at his own party!'' He flung his drumstick towards Bill who just managed to avoid it from hitting his eye. ''Dude, calm down okay go get a drink from the bar out front or something it will be fine!'' Bill tried calming Rodrick down to avoid any more possible accidents. ''Fine! It won't be fine, Bill! We can't even play our whole setlist now!'' Rodrick exclaimed grabbing the paper containing all the songs they wished to play from the couch and shoving it in Bill's face. ''Just pick your favorites okay, be happy we even get to play, you're not exactly the best at getting us gigs so please just calm down.'' Bill tried to reason with Rodrick who gave him a huff before he spoke, ''fine.. I'll go get a drink.'' Rodrick walked out of the room and slammed the door out of anger, he knew that Bill was right, this has been the first gig in a while since Heather's birthday, the thought of his embarassment at the party making a wave of cringe surge through his body, his crush on Heather was now looong gone.
He came to a halt at the bar that they brought in for the party, he took a seat next to a girl he hadn't seen before, she was playing with the straw in her drink, moving around the ice. ''You want anything?'' The guy behind the bar asked Rodrick who told him he just wanted a coke, the guy giving it to him not even a second later. He popped open the bottle and took a sip before his eyes wandered back to the girl who still hadn't taken a sip of her drink, he studied her features trying to place if he had seen her before. ''Hello?'' Rodrick hadn't realized the girl had caught him staring at her, she had a puzzled look on her face waiting for him to reply. ''U-Uhm hey!'' Rodrick greeted the girl his face flushing red with embarrassment, the girl looked him up and down with furrowed brows, ''why were you uhm, staring at me?'' She questioned him with a semi-arrogant tone, a little creeped out. ''Oh yeah sorry, I was just trying to place you, I don't think I've seen you around here before.'' He clarified, the girls demeanor lit up and she now had a smile on her face. ''Oh that makes sense! No I'm actually not from around here, but I'm close with the host!'' She stuck out a hand for Rodrick to shake which he did. ''My name is [name] by the way.'' She added, Rodrick then told her his and they kept talking for a while figuring out they were actually into the same music and liked the same bands. ''So what are you doing here then? You don't seem like the party type.'' Rodrick questioned her, completely forgetting about the whole 'having to share the gig' situation. ''Oh I'm playing with my band tonight!'' Rodricks smile dropped from his face, anger boiling up inside of him. ''Sorry, what?'' He asked, hoping and praying that he didn't just hear what he thought he did. ''Yeah me and my band are playing tonight, we have to cut it short though, some other bozo is playing too.'' She rolled her eyes talking about the 'bozo' not knowing he was sitting right next to her. ''I'M that bozo! and YOU are sharing the stage with ME!'' He jumped up from his seat going off at the girl who gave him a disinterested stare. ''Sure, bozo, you can stay delusional whilst me and my band rock this party.'' She got off from her seat and blew Rodrick a kiss and gave him a middlefinger before walking off to the stage at the other side of the room. Rodricks face was red with anger, but he didn't mind the kiss she blew him, wait no! She's now his rival, she's not some.. super hot chick who has the same interests as him and is practically perfect in his eyes, she fucked up his show! He could never like her.
A few minutes later the sound of a guitar was heard from the other side of the room catching Rodrick's attention, he walked over to the stage standing next to his bandmates who had come out of the prep room too, along with a guitarist, bassist and a drummer, the girl he had just been talking to stood in the middle of the stage with a microphone in her hands, Rodrick stood in the crowd with crossed arms and an irritated expression, when his friends asked what was up he dismissed them saying he didn't want to talk about it. After plugging some stuff in and getting all of the instruments ready, [name] began to speak into the microphone, her voice blaring through the speakers and ringing in Rodrick's ears. She made a, according to Rodrick, shitty announcement before signaling to the other members to start playing. The speakers almost seemed to explode due to the heavy rock music that the band was playing, Rodrick just stood in the crowd and rolled his eyes at the music swearing it 'wasn't all that' but that was before the girl in the middle of the stage began to sing, she stared him in the eyes and gave him a smirk before she started to sing, and even Rodrick in this situation couldn't deny that her voice was heavenly, she hit all the notes she needed to with almost no effort and Rodrick was almost mesmerized hearing all the words roll off her tongue, as sweet as honey. Noticing Rodricks shock [name] laughed to herself, happy that she caught him so off guard and being almost a hundred percent sure they were the best band of the night.
After a while it was Löded Diper's turn to play, and [name] was almost equally as shocked as Rodrick was at the bands talent, of course she laughed at the bands name because, I mean, it was slightly ridiculous but she could appreciate the raw talent they definitely possesed. At the end of their show Rodrick screamed out something about rock and diapers before he got off stage heading right for [name]. ''So, still think that your band is better than mine?'' Rodrick said, getting right into the girls face with a smirk. ''Yeah I do actually, but you aren't bad Rodrick.'' She reluctantly complemented him, fake gagging as she said it, they both laughed and Rodrick told her her band wasn't too bad either. ''You're a great singer, I like your voice, a lot actually.'' He whispered the last part, secretly not wanting her to hear it, but the girl smiled and she could feel heat rise to her cheeks, ''Thank you.. you're a great drummer! I wouldn't mind playing together with you sometime..'' She brushed her hand against Rodrick who quickly picked up on her flirtatious tone. ''Well I think i can make that happen, but I would need your number for that.'' Rodrick internally applauded himself at this sudden boost of confidence, but it was just so easy with her, she wasn't fake like Heather, she was pretty, down to earth truly pretty inside and out, cshe liked his favorite bands, she was nice, funny, cute and her attitude did something to him. Rodrick was snapped out of his thoughts by the girl handing him a note, he took at and saw the numbers she scribbled onto it, when he looked back up the girl was gone but at the bottom of the paper it read:
'Call me x'
Rodrick never drove his van faster than he did that night.

is that too much to ask? | tsukishima kei
Tumblr media
— alexa, play: love somebody by lauv
I don't wanna be the one to say
That we gotta have a conversation
I don't wanna watch the tears roll down your face
Know, I hurt you, and I, I'm sorry
All I wanted was to love somebody
— synopsis: tsukishima avoids physical affection with you as often as he can, and you wonder what it is that you’re doing wrong in your relationship.
— genre: angst, happy endings, & the product of my writer’s block
— word count: 2.6k
You knew Tsukishima wasn’t the affectionate type--you knew that when you asked him out in your second year of high school. You knew that if you hugged him in front of his volleyball teammates, he’d stiffen and cringe away from your touch. It was natural for you to start reaching your arms out towards him before stopping yourself and resorting to a proud pat on the arm and a bright smile. It was to the point where even Hinata once commented that he’d never even see the two of you hug.
Now that the two of you were in university, and almost three years into your relationship, you started wondering what exactly it was about physical affection with you that Tsukishima hated so much. You started to experiment--slipping your hand into his when you walked back to your shared apartment together after his long volleyball practices, or tossing your arms around his neck in excitement after he wins a tough match. Each time, he’d react the same way. He would pull his hand from yours, or he’d put his hands on your shoulders and put some distance between the two of you.
At first, you believed it to be embarrassment. He didn’t like PDA--you could understand that. Even you had a limit to how much you could flaunt your relationship status in public. But even when the two of you were in the comfort of your apartment, you wondered why he never initiated any physical affection.
“Kei,” you whispered his name softly, and he looked up from his phone to meet your eyes. “Do you...not love me?”
He blinked, raising both brows in genuine surprise and slowly lowering his spoonful of cereal back into his bowl.
“...Are you dumb?”
You scoffed, rolling your eyes and tightening your grip on your keys.
“It’s whatever,” you murmured, pulling the front door open and not bothering to spare him a glance over your shoulder. “I’ll see you.”
You left quickly to not have to deal with the aftermath of your sudden question, the door shutting firmly behind you.
Was it selfish of you to want more proof of his love for you? Sure, there were small things. Things like how he always helped you study for your exams if he could, or how he’d make you a cup of coffee before you left because he knew you struggled with staying awake during your morning classes. You knew he loved you because of these things.
But there was always a small voice in the back of your head asking if he only did those things to drag your stagnant relationship on. For a year now, it felt as if every day was the same with him. Actions were repetitive, dates were infrequent and only occurred when you asked, and at times, each day with him felt like a clone of the previous. Which is why you started wanting to hold his hand, and melt into his warm embrace.
Your fingers tightened on your tumbler, holding the contents of your boyfriend’s love--the coffee he made you this morning.
Even at home, he would merely pet your head when you cuddled into his side on the couch. Kisses were rare unless you initiated, and he’d always tease you whenever you whined about wanting him to kiss you first. It’s not like you two never had sex either, so what was so wrong about your relationship that left you wanting more?
Your phone buzzed in your other hand, and you glanced at it briefly.
u ok?
You tucked your phone back into your pocket without replying. You never should’ve asked. Now you’ve disrupted the peace you had in your stagnant relationship.
Though, maybe it was okay to want more.
“Is it really a problem?” Kuroo sipped his drink through his straw, raising a brow in your direction. “You’ve been dating for three years. I’m more surprised that you didn’t bring this up to him earlier.”
Your fingers tapped rhythmically against the half empty tumbler, teeth gnawing anxiously at your lower lip.
“...I think I was too scared in the beginning,” you murmured.
“Mm,” your friend hummed softly in agreement. “You’ve changed. You were always affectionate before.”
You blinked, raising your gaze from the table between the two of you to meet Kuroo’s grin.
“How’d you know that? We just became friends in uni--”
“Tsukki told me,” he cut you off, and your fingers stopped tapping against your drink. “And it’s not like I don’t notice that you hug me more than you hug your boyfriend.”
“First of all, don’t say things that can be so easily misunderstood,” you tossed a crumpled up napkin at the former captain, and he quickly dodged it with a short laugh. “Second, what do you mean Kei told you? He said I used to be more--affectionate?”
This was news to you. You never thought that he would notice how you changed to make him feel more comfortable with your relationship.
It was true that towards the beginning of your relationship, you were always scared of upsetting him, so you did everything you could to change to his needs. You held back words you knew he wouldn’t want to hear, and only ever spoke up if something truly bothered you. It worked up until the end of your first year before you started opening up to him slowly. But something you could never seem to breach was Tsukishima’s habit of avoiding physical affection.
“You know how he is,” Kuroo waved his hand dismissively, “Your boyfriend’s terrible with emotions. I tell him all the time that I’m surprised you lasted so long--”
“Don’t talk badly about him like that,” you scolded your friend with a scowl, to which he snickered quietly.
“Well, you can’t deny it, can you? He sucks, but he has his good points. That’s why you’re still dating him, right?”
It was true that you couldn’t deny it. Tsukishima had many faults, and his lack of desire for physical affection was only one of them. Still, you were just as much at fault for not communicating with him out of fear that he’d leave you.
“He’s just scared, y’know,” Kuroo rested his chin in his upturned palm. “Just like you. Even after three years, he’s not used to affection. Why don’t you just talk to him instead of sulking about it to me? I feel like I might as well be the third person in your relationship with how often you two come to me about each other.”
You were quiet for a bit, swirling the now cold coffee around as you processed the thought of confronting the issues you’ve been burying for so long.
“...he’d never date you,” you finally murmured, turning your gaze out the window.
“Ah, and you would?”
You didn’t need to look up to see Kuroo’s smug smirk.
“You wish.”
But no matter how much you didn’t want to admit it, there was some truth in Kuroo’s words. You had used him as a therapist far too many times, when your issues could easily be solved by confronting your fears and sitting down to talk with the man you lived with.
If only speaking to Tsukishima about your problems was as easy as it sounded.
By the time you finally gathered up the courage to even speak his name, your boyfriend was standing from the dinner table to grab your plates and heading towards the sink where his dishwashing responsibilities awaited him. The sight of his broad back seemed to glue your lips shut.
You couldn’t get the words out.
“Do you hate being touched by me?” was the first thing you wanted to ask.
“Is it wrong for me to ask for you to tell me you love me sometimes?” would probably be the second, paired with, “Can you just kiss me once in a while without complaining about it?”
It all felt so childish, even before the words left your lips. So instead, you sat frozen in your chair, gazing at your boyfriend’s back that you longed to embrace.
Slowly, you stood. Before your brain could tell you how stupid of an idea this was, your feet moved forward until you were standing just a step away from Tsukishima’s much taller form.
Your arms wrapped around his waist from behind, and you could feel the way he jolted in surprise as you rested your cheek against his warm back.
“I’m washing--”
“Do you hate me?”
Silence.
Well, that question didn’t come out as expected, though it’s not like you didn’t wonder that too.
“Don’t turn around,” you pleaded quietly over the running water. To someone else, you must’ve looked like a fool, clinging onto your boyfriend like your life depended on it while he soaped up your dirty dishes.
He granted your wish, and didn’t whirl around to pull away from your touch. Instead, he continued scrubbing at your dinner plates.
“You have until I finish washing the dishes to explain yourself,” he stated calmly, and your arms tightened around his waist. It was a demand.
“I heard...from Kuroo that you said I used to be more affectionate before we started dating,” you stammered out quickly, “If you knew that, then why do you get so stiff and push me away when I try to initiate physical affection even after we’ve been dating for three years? Do you hate being touched by me so much?”
The kitchen was quiet, now that your boyfriend was drying the dishes. His hand stopped moving robotically over the wet plates, and he slowly set them down on the counter instead. You could tell he wanted to say something, but wasn’t sure how. So you continued.
“I do know that you love me, Kei,” you murmured weakly, voice muffling against his shirt as you shifted to rest your forehead against his broad back instead. “I do. I know you’re always thinking of me, and I love that about you. But when you push me away, I can’t help but think that you’re just pretending to love me for the sake of convenience.”
“If I wanted convenience, I wouldn’t date you,” he mumbled under his breath, and the words stung to the point that your arms dropped from around the middle blocker’s waist.
No longer confined by your embrace, Tsukishima spun around and grabbed your shoulders, his eyes wide with panic.
“Y/N wait--I didn’t mean it that--”
“You’re such an ass,” you averted your gaze from his, trying to blink away the tears that began to blur your vision.
“Listen--” his voice was frantic, but you didn’t let him continue. You were scared to hear what would come next if you did.
“I guess I was wrong, and the voice in my head is right,” you cut him off, voice trembling. “So I’ll just tell you everything that I held back since it’s all going to fall apart anyway.”
It took all your courage to turn your teary gaze back to his deceivingly sorrowful golden eyes.
“Is there something so disgusting about me that you don’t even want to hold me? Even after this many years?” you began, fully prepared to spill every one of your fears from the past three years. “Am I asking for too much when I ask you to kiss me every once in a while? Is it wrong for me to want you to just tell me you love me sometimes? Am I a bad person for thinking our relationship has become so boring because neither of us want to make the first step to try and change because we’re both scared of scaring each other away?”
You rubbed your arm against your eyes, trying to pretend like you weren’t sobbing into your sleeve. Though you’re sure you weren’t a very good actor, with the way you hiccuped and took shaky breaths between your questions.
“Did I make a mistake trying to change myself to fit your standards? Should I have never confessed to you back--”
Your voice was suddenly muffled into your boyfriend’s chest, and you gasped at the suddenness of his hug.
“Please don’t regret it,” he requested weakly, his voice trembling just as much as yours.
Those simple words were all it took for your sobs to come out freely, your shaky hands clawing upwards to grip onto Tsukishima’s t-shirt, clinging onto him as if he was the only thing keeping you grounded. It was a hug you’d been craving for ages--one he initiated. You hated that it took you throwing your heart at him for it to happen, but what were you to do?
He allowed you to cry as he continued.
“There’s nothing wrong with you,” he murmured into your hair. “There’s nothing wrong with what you want. I was...just scared, like you said.”
“Of what?” was what you wanted to ask. And like he read your mind, Tsukishima elaborated.
“The more I hug you, and the more kisses we share, the more I fall for you,” he whispered, as if fearful of the words he was admitting to you. “The deeper I fall, the more scared I get that you’ll leave me when you remember how bad of a boyfriend I am. I want to give you 100% of me, but at the same time, I’m too scared to do exactly that.”
Your cries were quieting down, and you took shaky breaths, inhaling his familiar scent each time. Just his embrace managed to soothe your frantic sobs.
“So I avoided anything that would make me fall too much in love with you, but it’s already too late,” he laughed bitterly, pulling back slightly so he could cup your cheeks, thumbs brushing at the wet streaks staining your skin. Your lips pursed into a small pout, and he couldn’t help the smile that tugged at his lips. “I already love you too much to let go of you, and you know it.”
“...you’re really, really not allowed to be cute right now,” you grumbled, and he laughed.
“Yeah, I could say the same to you,” he joked, leaning forward so his lips could brush over your forehead.
“...can you kiss me now?” you murmured shyly, and his grin morphed into a weak smile before his hands tilted your jaw up towards him. His lips met yours softly, and though this wasn’t your first kiss, it was the first time you’d felt this way with Tsukishima in three years.
When he pulled away, you were crying again.
“Stop crying,” he cursed, “If someone saw you right now, they’d think I was bullying you.”
You babbled something incoherent through your tears of joy, and your boyfriend’s expression softened in a way you hadn’t witnessed in what felt like years.
“You have to take responsibility, you know,” his palms cupped your jaw, pulling your teary gaze back up to his as his thumb brushed over your lower lip. “For making me fall so deeply in love with you again.”
You laughed, tears dripping down your cheeks as you wrapped your arms around Tsukishima’s neck to pull him down into another love-filled kiss.
“Until when?” you grinned when you pulled away, his eyes closed as he sighed happily and rested his forehead against yours.
“Until I make up for the three years I put you through,” he mumbled, and you smiled softly as your lips grazed over his lightly. As you pulled back, he leaned forward and peppered kisses across your face.
“So, until forever?” you teased with a quiet giggle.
“Until forever,” he whispered, lips meeting yours once more.

You knew your friend was popular with a lot of people, but when you were invited to their New Year’s Eve party, you had no idea there would be so many and you barely recognised any of them. You guessed some of the guests were your friend’s partner’s, but it didn’t really make a difference to you now that you were standing alone on the side-line with a drink in hand.
You contemplated to just leave and go back to your original plan to celebrate in front of your TV with pyjamas on, it wasn’t as if you hadn’t done it before, but it was nice to see your friends again, at least some of them.
While contemplating what to do next, you absentmindedly plucked one and one chip from the bowl next to you, your eyes glossing over the mingling people around. Your thoughts drifted over to how your next year would be like, what goals you would set for yourself. It had been a slow year and you were truly ready for a fresh start.
In the corner of your eye, you noticed a small group of people approaching you. You took a step to the side, getting out of the way of the snack table. You turned your head away and looked at the fairy lights slinging across the walls.
“Y/N?”
The voice made you snap your head to the source, meeting a pair of curious baby blue eyes. You gulped as ice prickled in your veins. Fuck…
“Oh my god, it is you.” She giggled and turned to glance at the three other people standing with her. “Haven’t seen you since high school.” Your eyes dragged along her beautiful features and her silver cocktail dress. “Do you remember us?”
“How could I ever forget?” You mumbled with your head hanging low, dread washing over you as old memories hit you left and right and all you wanted to do was crawl away to the safety of your bed.
“I’ll never forget that time you got your period in the middle of the class, your seat was gushing red.” The woman cackled and you cringed inward at the memory. You had to go home that day and didn’t return to school until a week later once your period was done. “Or that time you got gum stuck in your hair.”
You chewed on your lip as you looked up at her, a hint of anger lingering at the back of your throat. “That was because of you.” You pointed out; your fingers tightened the grip around your glass.
The woman took a step closer to you with a smirk playing on her lips. “Mmm, and it was hilarious. You truly rocked your new hairstyle after that.” She grasped at your hair. “You should have kept it short.” She chuckled, lightly tugging at your hair before taking a step back.
You wanted so badly to snap back at her for what she put you through. Years of humiliation you had fought to suppress resurfaced as you were facing her for the first time since those horrible years.
She folded her arms and leaned her weight to one side. “Let me take a guess, you’re here alone? I wouldn’t be surprised, someone like you are born to be lonely.”
You met her cocky gaze and furrowed your brows. That was the last straw for you and you inhaled sharply, ready to bark out at her.
“There you are.”
Everyone snapped their head to the warm and vibrant voice to your right.
“I’ve been looking all over for you.” You met the man’s gaze, warm dark eyes that radiated kindness. He stepped right up to you and pulled you in by the waist with a caring smile. “We need to get outside if we’re to catch the fireworks.”
You could feel the warmth radiate from him and the smell of dark spice and light citrus hit your senses and you inhaled deeply. You gaped at him, not sure as to what to say or do.
“If you’ll excuse us, ladies.” Shifting his hold to your hand, he led you away from them and towards the garden. You barely kept up with his long and confident strides through the crowds of people until you finally stood outside under the clear night sky.
The air was crisp and fresh, feeling grateful for getting out from the cramped and uncomfortable situation, you looked up at him with a grateful smile. “Thank you.” You breathed out.
“And I thought we were all grown-ups here.” He mumbled to himself as he gave you a once over. “You okay?”
You nodded.
“I’m sorry for just marching in there, but I couldn’t help but overhear how rudely they spoke to you.”
You cleared your throat, feeling the fuming heat cool off of you. “Actually, I’m grateful you did. I almost snapped at them, which would probably turn into a whole scene.” You rubbed the back of your neck uncomfortably.
He nodded understandably. “That would probably turn a few heads.” He chuckled and took a sip from his beer. He held out his hand to you. “Pedro.”
You took it with a smile on your lips. “No, that’s not my name.” You said with a serious tone.
“N-no I mean…” He noticed your smile had twisted into a playful smirk and he rolled his eyes teasingly.
“I’m Y/N.” You chuckled and let go of his hand, licking your lower lip in the process.
“So that’s how it is, huh?”
You nodded, proud of your little joke. “That’s how it is.” You took a sip from your glass. “You know what, I think you would look great in a hat.” You giggled, the thought had popped so randomly into your head, and usually you would have kept it to yourself, but the alcohol was already making you a bit smug.
His eyebrows shot up in amusement. “A hat? What kind of hat?”
“I dunno, just a hat.”
You both chuckled at the random thought. He nodded with a smirk playing on his plump lips. “A hat it is then.”
You cleared your throat, shaking off the thought of him reminding you of someone. “So, are you ready for the new year?”
“Yeah, ready for a new year with new adventures and new projects. And you?”
You shifted your weight to one side. God yes! “Pretty much, yeah. It’s been a long year, so ready to put it behind and get a new start. At least that’s what it feels like – a new start.” You smiled “I definitely won’t waste away in my pyjamas at all.” You added sarcastically.
He chuckled. “You know what, that sounds pretty nice. It also sounds like the plans I initially had for New Year this year.”
You snorted at his honesty. “Mine too.” You admitted with a chortle as you looked around at the other unfamiliar faces glancing at you.
“How do you know these people?” He asked, snapping your attention back at him. You couldn’t shake off the feeling of having seen this man before.
“Y/F/N and I have known each other since we were like three years old.” You replied. “And you?”
“Ah, Y/F/N is also a friend of mine. We met like - … - four years ago I think it is.” Your heart lightly fluttered at his furrowed brows as he thought about it. “Or is it three?” His eyes bounced to your gaze with a warm glow. “I can barely remember, time flies by so fast.”
“TEN. NINE. EIGHT.”
You both looked out on the growing crowd by your side, everyone facing away from you to look up at the clear night sky. You felt a smile grow on your lips as you realised it was soon to be a new year.
“FIVE. FOUR. THREE.”
They all chanted together as some fireworks flew up in the air and exploding, painting the black canvas with colours and sparks. You turned to look at Pedro beside you, who already had his gaze on you.
“ONE. HAPPY NEW YEAR!” Everyone shouted out in unison.
He held out his beer bottle and you clinked your glass to it. “Happy new year.” He smiled sincerely, filling you with warmth.
“Happy new year.” You both took a sip from your own drinks and held each other’s gaze. You both took half a step closer and he bent down, wrapping his arms around you and hugged you tightly.
“To new beginnings.” He whispered.
Safety washed over you as you stood in his embrace. His scent overrode your senses as you wrapped your own arms around him. He pulled you a little closer as you heard him inhale deeply.
“Pedro.” An unknown voice called out in the distance.
He let go of you slowly, as if he was reluctant to part from you and looked behind you.
“Alex.” He chimed and took a step to the side to greet what you thought was his friend. “Happy new year.”
“Happy new year, man. The others are looking for you, they wanna wish you a happy new year as well, come on.” Alex grabbed Pedro’s wrist and pulled him with him.
You chuckled at the sight as Pedro looked over his shoulder at you with an apologetic look. You waved at him, hiding the feeling of dismal and emptiness as you watched him leave. Pedro… You echoed his name in your head, when suddenly realisation washed over you. Pedro…! You gaped at yourself in disbelief. Holy shit!

You woke up with a throbbing headache, rolled over and grasped for your phone. You had a few texts from different family members, but what caught your attention was a text from an unknown number.

Sweet & Savory - Kageyama x Sugawara! Reader
Tumblr media
Kageyama was sitting inside of the cafe ‘Sweet & Savory’ as he scrolled through his phone, thoughts of the girl not turning up plaguing his mind. He tried to push the thoughts away; each digit on his phone's time changing whilst he watched others slowly flood into the cafe. His overthinking was brought to a pause after a short while when a particular girl opened the door of the cafe, the bells chimes ringing throughout the cafe but it only seemed that he really acknowledged her presence which made him lean forwards from his seat.
”Finally, what took you so long?” He asked her with his eyes slightly narrowed whilst he tried appearing mad when in reality he was glad that she didn't bail on him; (y/n)’s face seemingly reddened at this statement as she remembered that she was late to this date.
“Sorry Tobi-Kun, Koushi decided to give me a lecture before this.” She softly replied, looking to the ground whilst she took a seat in front of him.
“That’s fine, but I already ordered a drink for us.” He spoke to her, leaning back into his seat whilst the girl nervously smiled at his bluntness. After a few more minutes of (y/n) discussing how Koushi lectured her over what time she has to be home by and that she shouldn't try anything funny there, Kageyama responded with a slight chuckle since he knows that Koushi doesn't approve of him yet.
However, they're conversation ended shortly once the waiter came up to the pair whilst setting down one strawberry milk with two straws that had a heart loop design on them; the waiter replied with a quick “enjoy” as he quickly walked off.
“Tobi-Kun?”
“Yes, (y/n) ?”
“Why is there only one drink?” (y/n) questioned whilst taking a sip of the drink, whereas Kageyama was bright red as he tried to think of a way to explain this.
“I got the couples discount, it was cheaper.” He replied quickly, noticing the fact that (y/n) started choking on her drink almost immediately.
“Are you okay-?”
“Y-yea, I’m fine” She countered quickly which resulted in Kageyama wondering if he’s done something wrong.
But, all good things must come to an end.
“ (Y/N) -CHANNNNN!”
“Oh god,” Kageyama responded when he suddenly realized who the voice belonged to; (f/n). She marched over to them with a smug expression on her face,  (y/n) already knowing she wouldn't be able to hear the end of this.
“Are you guys sharing a couple’s drinkkkk~?”She drawled out as she saw Kageyama’s and (y/n) ’s faces get taken over by a color of red but with a prominent scowl on Kageyama’s face.
“Yeah, we are. Got a problem with it?” He proclaimed, glaring at (f/n) whilst she only threw her hands up at his defensiveness.
“No, no, not at all. It's just surprising that you have feelings, especially one called love.” (f/n) teased with a ghost of a smile forming on her face, the statement causing Kageyama to immediately get riled up whilst  (y/n) tried to calm him down, telling (f/n) to go away politely.
“Alright, have fun on your little date~!”She exclaimed whilst jogging out of the cafe, just for (y/n) to see her friend’s boyfriend, who decided to spend the day at the Miyagi prefecture since he missed her, waiting outside for the girl as she laughed on her way out. (y/n) only sighed to herself since she was used to the teasing nature (f/n) has towards her and Kageyama at times, but glad that (f/n) mostly teased others rather than her.
“So, back to our drink?”The girl in front of Kageyama suggested with an adorning smile on her face, Kageyama secretly thankful by the fact that (f/n)’s teasing was over and done with, for now at least. Kageyama looked (y/n) straight in the eye as he offered her the other straw whilst drinking on the other, flustering the girl at the realization of how close their faces would be; but nonetheless, she took the other straw in her mouth as she tried diverting her eyes from him. However, (y/n)’s attention was back on Kageyama as soon as she heard rumbling noises coming from the cup just to find out that Kageyama was blowing into his straw with a sign of fondness in his eyes as the bubbles burst, each bubble causing Kageyama’s smile to widen slightly as he looked back up to (y/n) only to find out that she was staring at him.
“U-uh, sorry” He apologized as his face seemed flushed, he thought that (y/n) wouldn’t take him seriously just for that but his ears perked up as he heard what he classed as an angelic sort of laughter coming from the girl in front of him.
“Why are you apologizing? That was adorable” She retorted whilst Kageyama’s face got redder by this statement which only brought a smile to her face; Kageyama only turned his head to the side as he asked her if she wanted to go for a walk with the drink to go, to which she responded yes quickly whilst grabbing his hand and the drink and headed out of the cafe.
“So, where are we going?”
“I’m dropping you off, its 6 and you said that Suga-san wanted you home by 6:30” Kageyama replied whilst the girl beside him checked her phone only to realise he was right; this only caused the girl to worry since she knows how paranoid Suga-san gets when she doesn’t show up on time. She sighed at the thought of how her brother would react, this reaction only made the boy worry as he interlaced his hand with hers.
“Is everything okay?”He asked her, worry evident in his dark blue eyes that seemed to shine brightly to the point (y/n) could see her own reflection with them, soothing her almost completely.
“Yeah, it's just… Koushi tends to get out of hand when I'm away” She laughed slightly whilst she rubbed the back of her head with her free hand, Kageyama seemed to relax slightly at the sight of her laugh since he thought she was genuinely upset about something.
“Suga-san gets out of hand?”Kageyama asked with clear confusion visible in his voice.
“Last time he got out of hand was when I showed up home with a ton of scrapes after trying to climb a tree, ever since then he always thought something bad happened to me whenever I was late,” (y/n) replied fondly as she remembered how overprotective her brother can be at times but she knows that he only does this since he cares about her, Kageyama slightly chuckled at this whilst covering his mouth with his other hand.
“You know (y/n)-chan, I enjoyed myself today so thank you, for coming here with me.”He smiled at her whilst he started to swing the hand he was holding slightly, (y/n) finding this small action cute which caused her to laugh at how childish he's acting for once.
“Me too, Tobi-Kun, me too.” (y/n) replied as she gave Kageyama a kiss on the cheek, Kageyama getting slightly flustered over this action. However, both of them forgot one important piece of information; it was past 6:30.
By the time they actually arrived at the front of (y/n)’s house, it was already 7:00pm and a mad Koushi was waiting for them at the window. (y/n) saw this as she prepared herself for the lecture, not even bothering to tell Kageyama what was about to happen.
“Both of you. Inside, now.”Koushi sternly told the both of them as Kageyama looked at him in confusion but didn't feel like disrespecting his senpai, so he complied with his wishes and sat down on his couch with (y/n) sighing loudly since she knew what was going to happen.
“Do you know what time it is, Kageyama?”
“Uhh...6:30pm?”
“It's 7:00pm.” Koushi declared, staring down at Kageyama whilst the young kouhai realized his mistake.
“We decided to walk here so-” Kageyama tried reasoning with him but quickly got cut off by Koushi, resulting in (y/n) laughing at his response to the poor blue-haired boy that for once in his life, was genuinely scared of Suga-san.
“Well… you should've ran instead.”Koushi retorted defensively at Kageyama.

Lol I'm thinking of a good one Bakugou with a quiet, shaky reader? Like she is always shaking and is super embarrassed by it because she always does something on accident, so one day Bakugou finds out how embarrassed it makes her and he trys to make her feel better.
Oh my God my writer’s block is terrible! I’m sorry this took so long, I’m trying to get back on track with these and I hope this is what you wanted ;u;
It had always puzzled him to see you so… small.
Katsuki wondered how a girl like you could’ve ever wanted to be with someone like him - you were literally all the opposite of himself, quiet, easily flustered, kinder than most people, and you had your own way of handling yourself so carefully that you almost looked fragile. He knew and acknowledged, however, the strength inside that you didn’t see often; that had been the first thing he noticed about you when he met you, and even if he acted completely indifferent he eventually tried to make you understand what he saw in his own way. He had grown to love your weaknesses and little things as much as that, and he felt happier than ever before.
But the more time you spent together the more it annoyed him not to know what went through your mind as you seemed to become more wary of your surroundings every time you were with him, thinking your words a thousand times before speaking or staying close to him as you walked on the streets. He could feel the way your body started to shake ever so slightly each time he touched you, also aware of the deep red that tinted your cheeks. Honestly, he’d never admit that he was afraid it had something to do with him and so he tried to keep his personality as calm as he could when you were together. It was only a matter of time before he felt like he had had enough, the many reasons you could have behind this haunting his thoughts all day.
“(y/n),” he called out sternly one day while you were spending some time at an ice cream shop - you had barely touched your vanilla and caramel milkshake, taking five small sips of it before spilling some on your blouse. Looking up at him with your lips forming a thin line and your cheeks burning up again, his eyes met your nervous ones as he looked for any signs that could tell him what was happening. “Anything wrong with the milkshake? I can always ask for a new one.”
“N-no, it’s all good!” you rushed to reply, but the stuttering within your tone made his annoyance grow a bit.
Putting his pistachio ice cream aside and crossing his arms above the table, he leaned forward with a frown on his face and muttered, “Then, would you mind explaining to me what the hell is going on lately? You seem a lot shakier than usual.” When you didn’t answer, instead choosing to look down at your own hands resting on your knees, Katsuki realized there might’ve been a bit more going on than what he had originally thought. “Look, I’m your boyfriend,” he added with a sigh, “I know there’s something happening, and I’m willing to stay here all afternoon if I have to to get it out of you, and you know it’s true.”
He saw you gulp a bit before you quickly took another sip of the milkshake, and at that moment he wasn’t sure if you were doing it because you wanted to or for him not to worry. “It’s nothing, really.” Maybe you were hoping he’d believe it, but as you looked up shyly and linked eyes with him again he raised his eyebrows, an angry expression now painted on his face as he waited for the explanation he was looking for. “I just… I’m tired of always making a mess wherever I go, that’s all.”
“A mess?” You fidgeted with the straw and took another long sip, downing the drink to the half of the glass; the silence grew stronger between you despite the sounds around the shop as you seemingly refused to keep on with the conversation, and Katsuki wished his stare could act as a serum of truth. He leaned back on the chair, his expression softening until it looked like a bored one yet he was still eyeing you up as he spoke. “Well, I guess we’ll be here the whole fucking afternoon, better make yourself comfortable.”
“I’m clumsy Katsuki, okay?” You closed your eyes tightly and blurted that out after a second, making him flinch just a bit - you had never been that straightforward with your thoughts like that, and he was more than willing to listen. “Everywhere I go, everything I do, something happens and I embarrass myself all the time, and I’m honestly sick of it. I don’t want you to think I’m an idiot either, but I d-don’t know how to fix this.”
For a moment, he thought about laughing; was it really that simple? He decided against it though, and after thinking he reached out and hesitantly cupped your face with one hand, making you stiffen at the sudden display of affection. He wasn’t sure if he himself was completely comfortable doing it, but if it made you feel better he’d get over it. “You are an idiot (y/n), but because you didn’t tell me before. You got me all fucking worried here,” he said, a small smile appearing on the corners of his lips although he was still frowning. “I’d like you even if you were the most embarrassing, clumsiest person on this planet - all because you’re you. There are a lot worse things that could happen to you, but you can be damn sure that being clumsy isn’t bad, and… I won’t judge you for it.”
Your body seemed to relax under his touch as he spoke, and before he could say anything else you put your hand above his, and it was then his turn to freeze. Bringing your gaze back to his, he could now see there was no sign of you shaking, and as you smiled brightly he felt his heartbeat picking up, prompting him to scoff and look down just so that you wouldn’t be able to see how flustered he felt at that. “You know,” you said quietly, “you can be a total asshole most of the times, and while I like that I like when you’re gentle too.”
“It’s just because it’s you who I’m talking about, dumbass.” Removing his hand from your face, he brought it to the spoon that swam in his now half-melted ice cream and, almost without thinking, he splashed a bit of it on his own shirt, much to your confusion. “See? Now we match,” he added with a reddened face, and he could’ve sworn that the chuckle you then let out was the sweetest thing he had ever heard.
