It is WILD to me how many people just loudly broadcast their intention to scab, as if that isn't the fastest way to brand yourself as someone who will throw anyone else to the wolves in an industry that runs on collaboration, so every writer say it with me

The Lucifer Commissions Saga has me thinking that once Vox found out about Lucifer's Alastor shrine he would be like "???? He has a signed recording of Alastor's radio debut?!? Oh my god I need that" and then he spends weeks searching for one until he finally gets it for like a million dollars (from the Alastor budget). And then Lucifer sees that it's been added to Vox's shrine and he's like "that loser did not just copy me" and he proceeds to try and upgrade his shrine as much as possible just to upset Vox, and it basically turns into a dick measuring contest for them (Alastor is horrified)
(if you don't have the context. god help you. all I can give you is this (the budget), this (the shrine og), this (the shrine animatic))
I'm. I'm going to cry. I have so many questions
I'd actually argue it's more likely for vox to have gotten HIS signed around him and alastor's first meeting, lucifer hadn't even heard of alastor when he met him he's a FAKE FAN. (HOW WOULD HE HAVE EVEN GOTTEN HIS HANDS ON A RECORDING OF ALASTOR'S RADIO DEBUT? I WOULD UNDERSTAND STALKER-VOX WHO HAS KNOWN ALASTOR FOR YEARS HAVING IT BUT LUCIFER-WHO-IS-THIS-WHO-IS-THIS-NUT-ARE-YOU-THE-BELLHOP-MORNINGSTAR?????? HOW?????????)
yeah. yeah alastor is horrified (and op is losing her mind trying to apply logic to this)

there's this cycle that's starting to loop back around where particular groups of people will be ostracized in our queer communities, that group of people will form their own community for their safety, the wider queer community will silently get over themeselves and stop caring, then that same wider community gets mad that they can't be a part of the "cliquey, unwelcoming" offshoots that they pressured into existence in the first place. in the meantime, those "cliquey" communities are often actually incredibly welcoming if you actually make it known that you actually care about them.

I've said it before but going back to prose with a screenwriting background is so fucking maddening, what do you mean I have to write in the sweeping wide shots when I want the sweeping wide shots. why can't I just say EXT. ESTABLISHING and move on

WHATS UR FAVORITE RYOMINA MOMENT FROM THE MOVIES I NEED TO KNOW!!!
HI FELIX!! thank you for the ask i am always happy to take more opportunities to talk about ryomina they are so special to me o7
it is VERY tempting for me to answer, "every fucking time ryoji showed up on screen!" ok this might be an exaggeration, i like 90% of his screentime, december 2nd ryoji should've been portrayed more like a pathetic wet dog imo but i digress. but hm... favorite moment.
while the helper's club montage has a very strong place in my heart (it permeated my braincells without my permission)!! i think my favorite part of ryomina's portrayal in the movies is the whole sentence finishing thing they got going on. i feel like that's a cop out answer but like.
there is something so so gut wrenching to me about how they start off by making it so that ryoji is the one finishing minato's sentences. always ryoji. BUT THEN!!! when they meet again at the top of tartarus to do battle on judgment day!! they turn it on it's head!! and it's minato!! who finishes the sentence!! and fuck man does it make me feel like i'm being kicked down a staircase.
and to have the sentence finishing happen again for such an important day?? god idk im gonna tear up and someone needs to like. give me like. a chew toy or something this makes me so fucking insane (blows up) (blows up).
so basically my favorite moment is really like, january 31st, but a lot of my attachment to it is BECAUSE they have that set-up in november with ryoji being the silliest fucking guy to have ever walked at gekkoukan. and oh man oh man the fucking. THE. when. WHEN THEY FOLLOW IT UP WITH MINATO SUMMONING THANATOS AFTER THIS?? yeah man. that's the fucking shit.
like i don't think the english language is enough to convey how much i love the artistic choice to have the flash frame of ryoji when minato summons thanatos. it's the hesitation and rebellion babey!!! the whole scene afterwards is so fucking juicy as well.
honorable mention to when ryoji jumped off the fucking roof at iwatodai station to tell minato that he has kindness in his eyes and that he doesn't like seeing him alone. what kind of guy does that. that's so fucking hilarious to me like actually. he was insane for that.
anyway that is my answer i HOPE u enjoyed reading it, god, ryomina still makes me eyes watery (it's been almost 2 years since i've met them??? what the fuck). i feel like others have echoed this sentiment before but nevertheless i was super happy to type it out :D

yet another writing ask: 23 and 32 if you would like to <3
Thank you 🙇🙇
23. Dialogue or description? Why is the other one so hard?
GOD. Dialogue is so hard. I get soooo stressed in rpf bc I often want or am including multi-lingual players who do not speak like a generic Californian, and I get real in my head about like...capturing that authentically and sensitively. Like description is easier to deploy meaningfully and if I fuck it up, I find that way more forgivable in myself than like writing a multilingual player and accidentally leaning into stereotypes about speech patterns or ways of expression that aren't True To Nature. and like to be clear this is specifically about non-Canadian/American players, like if I fuck up some American NCAA white jock who gives a shit but if I leaned to stereotypes about like how idk Russians speak, I would just die. and I have done this!!! I look back at some of my old sidgeno works and I'm like this is unforgiveable lol.
I'm poking at a concept with Radim Šimek, who is from Czechia, and I'm stressing sooo bad about his speech patterns and how he expresses himself in interviews vs teammates, particularly after I noticed how obvious it is that he learned in English in the Bay Area, which is not like...a particularly unique version of English, but I've noticed that sometimes the way Bay Area ppl inflect words is absolutely deranged. and like how does that affect how you express yourself yk, and like I'm basing all of this off getting lectured for being lazy in five years of French classes in high school and college, which is not even remotely the same thing
Also. At least once per fic, I have to go through a delete an instance of "hella". That man from Ontario would not fucking say "hella".
32. Do you have a word/expression that you always use in your writing?
Well I absolutely overuse "like" in speech which is what happens when you grow up in California and write primarily in a fandom of white jocks. Also tend to use "sounding strangled" with regularity, but I have never been able to figure out how to execute that specific emotion any other way (I have not tried very hard)
Thank you!!!

one last thing I will say on that topic. Americans getting upset about you calling out Zionism. When you're not talking about Judaism or in fact, about religion at all. When you're talking about a national military funded by a country that has been dropping bombs on the middle east since the 1980s. But then I suppose when people who are so so so comfortable with equating a whole religion, or further a whole entire group of multiple ethnicities, with simply 'terrorism', are criticised on any aspect of their wrongdoings of course they must think we're talking about their whole religion. Literally every word is a projection.
