General - I wanted to make another self-indulgent prompt list this year for OC-tober so I did :3 - If you do feel like following along, remember that your health, comfort and motivation come first! Do as much as you want or as little as you want, or feel free to mix up the order or skip the prompts you don't like! - The alternate options were added because 1. I'm indecisive and 2. If a certain prompt doesn't appeal to you, then there's another choice! - I always have OCs on the brain so if you want to mention/tag me in your posts please do! I'll be responding under my main blog @complementary-oxymorons due to the interaction limitations of side blogs + wanting to keep my art blog as my personal art archive.

About the prompts - I understand that some prompts can be a bit confusing so I'll try to preemptively explain some! - Day 7: Draw over an IRL picture - For some ideas, it could be like drawing your OCs on a picture of a beach as if they're there having fun! Or maybe you could draw little chibis of your OCs sitting on your shoulder / messing with your hand while you draw :D (please do be mindful about the risks that come with uploading IRL photos though!). Some IPs (anime, games, etc.) collaborate with IRL cafes to create a themed menu which runs for a limited time only. The items on the menu tend to be references to the IP and its characters (e.g. an orange-haired character in the game gets a menu item that's an orange soda with decorative sprinkles, or a character who loves curry gets a menu item that's a special curry dish, something like that). If you're still unsure, google stuff like "collab cafe"! - Day 25: Family Feud - Feel free to redraw your favourite Family Feud clip as your OCs because there are a lot of strong contenders kekdog - Day 28: Barbenheimer - Exactly what it is! I do not know if it was you, or another blogger that made a character analysis of Gojo that made me like the character and discover more about him through the manga.

While I never read the manga before or watched the anime, I had been exposed to it by my friends and some BNHA bloggers. Back then, I found Gojo to be overhyped (discount Kakashi) while liking the animation(?) style, bit still no interest.

BNHA and its Endeavour Redemption arc in the doing was tiring me to the point that I stopped reading it and manga altogether. For mayne six months or so, until now, at least. I randomly found your blog last week , and it got me a new hyper fixation 😃. You got me to start reading JJK (Megan cos playing also helps).

I bought Number 0 and Number 1 of the mangas. Only to remember midway in Number 0 that Walmart Kakashi will be snapped in two like a Kit Kat🥲. I saw that leak in one of the BNHA blogs, and I didn't mind it back then since I wasn't in the fandom, but Lord, now it sucks.

Anyways, all this long rant to say that I like reading your posts.

Gojo, rest in pain, I guess?

Probably was someone else, I don't write much analysis posts about Gojo. I think once or twice I did, I can't recall. Probably reblogged one though you saw!

I don't know, they're really just two different characters to me. Also... I was never really an active reader or watcher of Naruto like that (just very familiar) so when I first saw Gojo, Kakashi didn't register to me at all.

Like, I did not get similar vibes at all. And it actually annoys me that people will be like "He copied Kakashi's flow"! Kakashi ain't the only white haired, face covering character out there with magical eyes, y'all stop. 😆

Even funnier when, by this point, Gojo has probably been unmasked more than he has been wearing something on his face and switches up what he puts on his face. Kakashi been wearing the same mask for...? Also, didn't it take years for Kakashi's whole face to be shown or something? Took like seven episodes for Gojo to show that face.

I always been a fan of Megan's music and then when I found out she was into anime I was like "YYYYYEEEEEAAAAH". She cosplayed as Miruko one Halloween and it made my year. I am a former believer that Miruko would vibe to her music.

Just seeing other Black women being unapologetic fans of anime (or anything) does wonders for me and I hate it when people act as if it's such a foreign idea to understand. Honey, we can have interests, too, like everyone else. It's normal.

I always try to be careful about spoilers for anything I'm into. Like, I can talk about a chapter that happened two years ago, but I'll still mark as a spoiler because I know some people don't read Mangas or even if they do haven't caught up to that specific part.

That actually what set me off when Usher cosplayed as Gojo because he literally put "rest in peace, Gojo" or something along those lines and the amount of people who weren't even aware of 236... like bro, come on.

I knew it just had to be a marketing tactic because I know damn well Usher ain't seen JJK a day in his life and how convenient it is he comes out with that cosplay around the time when "Daddy's Home" becomes a fairly popular song used in Gojo's edits. I can't go watching one video on YouTube without hearing that song play when Gojo pops up. And even if he has... WHY WOULD YOU TAG IT LIKE THAT?!

Oh, but Megan definitely doesn't know any of the characters she be cosplaying, alright... okay... 🙄

I'm just going off on a whole tangent here, I apologize for that. I've been sick for like three days and just woke up from a nap. 😅

Also, thank you! Glad you enjoy my posts!! Anytime anyone says they like reading my posts, I still get shocked. They're really are just random thoughts I been having and really I'm still learning grasping the characters and story myself. And this is just for any. I don't even for them to get read, let alone for anyone to actually agree with me. I guess because, at the end of the day, I really just needed to throw a thought out there before I lose it or keep rethinking about it over and over.

13 Books

Right, I was tagged by @old-man-ghost a few days ago and I'm finally getting around to doing this!

1: The last book I read: Disney Princess: Beyond the Tiara, which was an interesting look at the involved films and their impact. It was self-congratulatory at places, but I think that's the trade-off for it being an official book.

2: A Book I recommend: Dinotopia by James Gurney, between the gorgeous art, the inventive world-building, and the great characters. The franchise as a whole is one of my favorites, but this is the book that started it all.

3: A book that I couldn't put down: I read the first nine a while back, but I really enjoyed the first volume of Spy x Family. I need to get around to reading the tenth & eleventh volumes.

5: A book on my TBR: In addition to the aforementioned duo and quite a few other books, I'm waiting until I'm further into The Librarians as a show before I read the 3 tie-in novels.

6: A book I've put down: This isn't probably what's meant, but it's the only recent example. Over a month ago, I checked out The Secret Life of the American Musical from the library specifically to just skim it to get a clearer grasp of the different types of songs in Broadway musicals. Though I did spot its section acknowledging the issues of relying on star power for musicals, which seems relevant to what went on with the Sweeney Todd revival.

7: A book on my wish list: This one is kinda silly, but I am curious about Ash's Atlas, it's just that I've been reluctant to seriously look into getting it because I know it's very likely not be a pseudo-guidebook, and more likely just acts to recap anime events. I'd like a Pokémon book that does more with discussing the geography, history, man-built places, & notable people.

8: A favorite book from childhood: I'm going to go for Midnight for Charlie Bone, the first in the Children of the Red King series. I didn't get to read them all as a kid, but the first few I definitely did. I still have a soft spot for this series, though the older I get the more I wish for a perspective flip novel(s) showing what the adults were getting up to, as it's very clear that they're getting up to stuff off-page in addition to what Charlie and his friends see. I'm definitely anxious about how the potential upcoming TV adaptation will turn out.

9: A book you would give to a friend: Hmm, it would depend on the friend's tastes. Maybe I'd be selfish and give them the Project Gutenberg link to Once on a Time just so I'd have someone to talk about it with. It's one of my favorite books (it definitely can be seen as a precursor to The Princess Bride and Galavant).

10: The most books you own by a single author: It's probably a toss-up between Tamora Pierce and Rick Riordan. Both of them are well into the double digits.

11: A nonfiction book you own: I have Team of Rivals, which is a really interesting look at how Abraham Lincoln got elected and then turned the other candidates into his cabinet during the Civil War.

12: What are you currently reading: I've only read the prologue to the Belle Mirrorverse manga, but I liked it. I'm pretty much just here for the BATB content (as seen by me currently having Funko Belle as my icon), as I didn't play the game for long. This says more about my minimal gaming skills than the game itself (no, seriously, I struggle with LEGO & Pokémon at times). I am curious how this altered story will play out.

13: What are you planning on reading next: I still need to reread Sense and Sensibility, especially as I keep meaning to locate the new movie (I like the gifs I've seen, I just need to find the time/energy to figure out how to temporarily get Hallmark access so I can watch it).

I'm on desktop at the moment and don't have a readily accessible current photo of any of my bookshelves. I'll try to remember to do something later and add it in a reblog when I'm on my phone.

Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, and Kotal Kahn Music Hcs

Shang Tsung:

He’d find your excitement with music adorable

You would be rambling on and on about the lore behind specific artists and music video theories and he’d sit there listening to every word with a gentle smile on his face. He absolutely loves it when you gush like this

When you tried to get him to listen to different genres, he’d object at first because he feels as though he wouldn’t enjoy it. He feels like there’s too much of an age gap between him and the music that’s popular these days

That is, until you introduced him to the old, classical musical of the 16th century

Now THAT he can get behind

Shang Tsung listens to all the villain-sounding piano and violin classical music. It’s not because he specifically goes looking for it, the songs just find him

The first time you caught Shang listening to Earthrealm music, he was in his study with an old record player that looked like it came from the 16th century

“Lacrimosa” was playing from the music device as Shang watched over the hovering feather pen that was possibly writing someone’s eulogy (i hc shang to be able to control things using a soul power similar to telepathy. yes, whatever he controls has a green aura around it. it’s cool as fuck)

He immediately noticed your presence when you walked in and he looked up at you with a smile, but between him hunched over with floating pens and the villainous music playing, you didn’t know whether to walk any further or turn tail and run

Shang would later tell you that classical music helps him focus so if you hear any loud organ playing in the dead of night, that’s just Shang being silly, goofy Shang 💆‍♀️

Shao Kahn:

When you show him your favorite artists and songs, he’d shrug you off at first and insult your taste

But behind closed doors he’d listen to your mentioned songs on repeat, trying to decode your obsession with it

He’d be a little jealous that there’s something you’re fond of that he isn’t automatically the best at

No, he’d be VERY envious and would become even more of an arrogant asshole just to prove a point

Overtime when you expose him to different genres, he’d discover phonk and rap and he’d 100% start blasting that at maximum volume around the palace

Specific songs he listens to include: “Midnight” by PLAYAMANE, “Draco” by Playboi Carti, and “Nonstop” by Drake

Thanks to you, Shao Kahn is gonna have some kind of Carti song blasting before every battle

Interestingly enough, there will come a time when Shao would prefer Earthrealm music over the music of Outworld, his reasoning being that Outworld music isn’t “loud enough” (the real reason is because Outworld music doesn’t have Playboi Carti on its tracks 💔💔💔)

Kotal Kahn:

Similar to Shang, he’d find it endearing to see you so happy about something and he’ll be more than willing to give it a listen

Kotal is man who puts tradition and culture first so he’ll take the time to learn about the music that you enjoy and music from your culture

Even if he doesn’t particularly enjoy a specific genre that you do, he’ll still be respectful and listen to it with you

But for the most part, he enjoys whatever you enjoy

Kotal would also introduce you Rodian music and he’d be elated when he finds out how much you love it <333

The rest of the Milky Way no longer matched the trajectory from three years’ past. He hadn’t had the time to step into Tireseas University’s observatories in months, but it’d turned out to stay steady, yet be thoroughly alien to the galactic region that the planet [ ] occupied. For reasons that didn’t make Ranvir anxious at all, Armando had refused to come with. For all the imagery his family had cultivated around [ space-related alchemy ], he seemed to shy away from actually paying attention to them on an astronomical scale. Ranvir knew that it hadn’t been the same with his passed brother—Antonio Herrera had loved the stars, and he’d managed to occasionally catch glimpse of him amidst the club that congregated to converse about and check out the ever-increasing space-related nerdery, innovation and rapidly-evolving news. The people of [ their planet ] had begun to shift their attention to the stars once again, after all. The students around him were uneasy about speaking on current events.

the word "beam" in blue horizon book 1... i've been avoiding spoiling how antonio and layla and their friends are like in part 2 for years but it's the main scene with "beam" that's not too spoilery, so everyone gets to see them for once, haha:

“I barely know anything about what Alia’s up to.” said Layla, sounding breezy. “Even though you follow her around as much as you do?” Hazan laughed. “We’re buds.” said Layla, and that beam looked way too genuine. “So there’s some kind of trouble following all of you?” Diego asked Khalida, with his posture straightening. The red of his eyes glowed. “We thought there was someone tracking us while we were heading back from the mission,” said Eliza. “but they’d only show up randomly in the past several days. Threat levels were low till now. It’s someone we’ve barely managed to…miss, or possibly evade, at one point.” “‘Miss, or possibly evade.’ Sounds watery.” said Raj, wryly. He’d been playing with his Ninth’s bracelet; it was passed down from Rajani-fupi, though Antonio had never known him to be particularly devoted. But he and Raj didn’t speak often anymore.

Ranvir escaped into the warm summer night after a while of cheek-aching smiles and laughter, and almost found a moment’s rest alone for once in these past several months. Being in a team with the likes of Tarak and Lana—with Tarak had to be a feat on its own within the Protector’s class. He stepped around a wide pond that had an elaborate fountain stemming from a broken kestral statue’s heart, with waters that had rumors surrounding it—of how there was a soft song people would hear at times, near or even within them. As if children were singing. But he’d allowed himself to reach out to its waters more than once and had found nothing out of ordinary. Nothing that implied that the [ strange magic ] lingered anywhere near.

the word "product" in blue horizon book 1... doesn't exist! i went with "prod" instead and found a typical ranvir and armando excerpt:

By the time they’d arrived at the hangar together, Ranvir wondered what the hell it was he was doing. “Isn’t it enough that we trekked all over the fissure-ass…all over the freaking campus thrice?” he tried to be the voice of reason with a tone to match, but got the sense that he might sound like he was pleading to a bunch of little babies. And a semi-grown hunk of a man. Who still slept through his alarm way too often and needed a physical reminder proddi—needed someone to throw water on his face to wake him in the mornings. “Jogging everywhere that second time made for a really good workout!” Armando blithely agreed. I’m doomed. Ranvir thought, miserably.

Sabin!

Oooo, that's a good one! Sabin's a character I never thought much about when I was younger, but I've come to appreciate him. I think it helps I've come across a lot of great fan art of him, so he's become a surprisingly big presence in my reblogs.

Favorite thing about him:

Just as a surface thing, he seems like such a good guy -- down to earth, passionate, ready and willing to fight for his loved ones. I love his big beefy design. He has some seriousness in his backstory that's there for exploring, but there's also this very fun silliness to him -- holding up the corner of a burning house, diving into a river after Ultros, and of course suplexing the train. I think if I have to cite one favorite thing, it's the potential for humor, how he can do these very extreme off-the-wall things which seem to feel perfectly normal to him.

Least favorite thing about him:

He feels underutilized in the story, especially given he's one of your core party members in the second half of the game. It feels like, character-wise, he has less going on than Celes, Edgar, or Setzer.

Favorite line:

I can't think of any off the top of my head, but his laughing graphic is really cute.

brOTP:

The contrast between him and Edgar is enjoyable. Honestly, I feel like Sabin's bluff straightforwardness could play well with a lot of the party members; someone could write an interesting story about him and, say, Setzer on a mission/heist together, and have no end of fun contrasting them. But I'm going to go with Celes -- she's cold and stern, he's warm and cuddly, but I think they could meet in the middle and have some great character moments -- especially given how they both abandoned the lives other people had planned for them.

OTP:

I don't have one for Sabin. I think, at least at this point in his life, he's not looking for anything big, so if he did get with someone it would be pretty casual. Like with the previous answer, I think he has a lot of potential for fun and humor in any pairing, especially with a strongly contrasting personality, but there's also enough seriousness in his backstory to allow for some deeper, more emotional moments. I've seen some people float the idea of SabinTerra, and that definitely has possibilities -- Terra has very little concept of human love on any level, and Sabin would be able to relate to her as both a friend and a love interest. Plus, you just know he gives good hugs.

nOTP:

None that's a very interesting hot take -- I wouldn't go with Edgar? -- like I said, I haven't put too much thought into Sabin's love life. Even though Sabin's very warm and friendly, I think it might be difficult to write him in some pairings, at least believably.

Random Headcanon:

Oh, I'll have to think of something right now. Okay. Sometimes he misses the ghost that accompanied him on the ghost train. They didn't talk much, but he liked the ghost.

Unpopular Opinion:

Do people have polarizing opinions on Sabin? Hm. I think it's equally valid to draw him with a scruffy beard or without. How's that for controversy?

Song I associate with them:

I thought about this, and I came up with "I'm on My Way" by the Proclaimers. It's very upbeat, a little goofy and bouncy, a little forceful but in a jocular way. I can imagine Sabin singing this under his breath as he mountain climbs (or furiously paddles down the river after Ultros).

He looks absolutely feral, but at the same time, you can see the resemblance to Edgar. I also really like his expression -- gazing off into the distance, something gentle and happy about the set of his mouth. His life isn't for everyone, but it's right for him.

Why I might block a follower

Bots won't read this nor care, but for new followers I thought it might be interesting to periodically touch on why I might (or might not) block someone who follows me. And if you aren't a bot and still you don't care, here's a page break so you can skip this. tl;dr pretty much anything goes if you aren't a p*rnbot.

I've been pretty lucky: it's been a while since I've been subject to "p*rnbot" spamming. Obviously, if I open a new follower's page and the first thing I see is a bunch of naked pictures or dick pics (the anti-nudity rules Tumblr put in a few years back did NOT stop such accounts from being created), then it's being blocked. Similarly there are some blogs that just repost sexy photos of celebs. If it looks like the blog is just there to farm my post next time I reblog a pic of Jenna Coleman I'll give it a closer look and if it's definitely a celeb "p*rnbot" (you can tell if it's not just someone who likes to reblog pictures of celebs they like, which is fine), then into the blocker it goes.

Content-wise, I don't go vetting sites for what they write. Not enough time and I'm not into that sort of thing. Obviously if I post something and it gets reblogged by somebody who has views on things that are opposed to mine (whether political or related to Doctor Who, etc.), I assume people understand it's not an endorsement by me (and of course I won't reblog anything I vehemently disagree with unless I am making a rebuttal). That said I will block for content if I find out a follower, say, posts hatred, whether that be towards people who are critical of recent versions of Doctor Who (I had to do that a couple of times and am pretty sure I've been blocked myself for not worshipping at the altar of Chibnall though I've never posted hate), or obviously people who post racism, etc. (I personally don't seem to attract those types to my blog, which is a good thing. I'm more likely to have someone call me a p*do for supporting Whouffaldi - which has happened - than the triple-K stuff).

I've had to unfollow the occasional blog if they go overboard on posting. I had one once post something like 100 reblogs in a row and it rendered my dashboard unusable and they did it a few times because they were really enthusiastic about a topic (non-Who, btw), so I had to unfollow them. But I didn't block them.

Finally, anyone who makes me a follower of them without my actually following them voluntarily gets blocked and reported (I haven't had it happen for a long time, no idea how it can be done, but I have occasionally discovered I've "followed" businesses and one or two p*rnbots. Usually when I suddenly start seeing boobs on my dashboard - which sounds like a great title for a song, but I digress). If a business wants to follow me, of course, by all means (I recently got followed by a business that sells riot gear. No idea why; maybe I'll get a discount next time a fight breaks out at the next Calgary Stampede Pancake Breakfast).

Yeah, I'd love to know which mechanisms songs you think I should start with, or if it's a particular album. I actually went and listened to a few seconds of one after reblogging the post. They remind me just a little of The Amzing Devil. I'll be honest, that specific specific song didn't keep my interest too long, but I'm sure someone who knows their music could point me toward the better ones. :)

I'm going to assume you know nothing about them just in case (and also since I know some songs are less good for casual use/can take a little warming up to :'3)

The gist of it is that it's a storytelling cabaret where every band member is in character as an immortal space pirates; as such, their albums are retellings of "actual events" they have "witnessed" during their travels in space.

I think I will put the rest under a Read More though because! I went off a bit! Sorry about that :'D

I recommend listening to their albums as they interest you to get the general gist of the stories. Once I got that, I added them to my shuffle playlist and listen to my faves - that way it's not confusing to me and I don't have to "suffer" through the other parts when I don't wanna listen to a whole concept album.

The "main" four albums all follow a similar structure of switching between narration/song, with varying amount of information relayed in the song (as in, sometimes it's just about a concept of the story, sometimes it's more akin to a musical piece where the story moves as well). The songs themselves are often based on various extant, mostly folk, songs (e.g. Bella Ciao, WW1 songs, and I can't think of any more rn because my brain is cooked).

If you want the cliff's notes version of these albums (none of which have a "happy" ending, so be aware of that going in):

Once Upon A Time (In Space): their first album, Grimm's fairy tales but it's about a space rebellion against an immortal, tyrannical king with an army of clones.

Ulysses Dies at Dawn: greek mythology but it's a noir cyberpunk planet-wide city. Contains (in my unbiased opinion lol) very good and interesting takes on how the setting would influence some of the myths we are familiar with today. Fair warning though: will contain references to the original material you might miss if you are unfamiliar with the OG characters, but it's still enjoyable

High Noon Over Camelot: Arthurian legend but it's a diesel-punk desert space station with bike-riding cowboys. SPECIAL MENTION TO THE MOST BANGER BANJO (again, in my opinion), specifically in Peacemaker. It's going wild in there.

The Bifrost Incident: Norse Mythology but told as a space-train noir mystery. Notable for not being narrated by an outer character, but actually told as a "recording" of the police officer investigating. Features a very good banjo in "Expert Testimony" (which is narration) (also the banjo is in a genre I like to call "bastard" because oh yeah, what is happening in-story is that a character is being A Bastard <3)

As for Tales to be Told I and II, they contain smaller stories (either relating to the main albums, origin stories for in-universe band members, or self-contained ones)

There is also a standalone single, "Frankenstein." Guess what that one is about lol. It, along with "Alice" and "Gunpowder Tim vs. The Moon Kaiser" are "songs" on the longer side that contain shorter narration/song segments.

Lastly, there's Death To The Mechanisms, which was the band's farewell concert in 2020 when they disbanded. It's been recorded and put together as a live album and contains fun banter and character lore regarding their deaths.

IF you want my favourite songs, regardless of album, it's probably Red Signal, Peacemaker, Blood and Whiskey, Thor, Rose Red, Alice, Acatea and Lyssa, Lost in Cosmos, The Ignominous Demise of Dr. Pilchard (which also has fun banjo), Elysian Fields, Ragnarok II: The Calling, and Riddle of the Sphinx.

Lotr is my oldest special interest and even thought it's been a while since i last went deep down on tolkien's rabbit (hobbit?) hole, i still know so much about it shjdjedjdj i think that lotr is one of the main reasons why i became a writer + the silmarillion is EASILY the book i've read the most (i read it like 3 times one year and then in 2020 i started rereading it like CRAZY because i was doing a fanfic with a lotr au and i wanted to put as much references as i could)

Also i think this is getting bigger than i thought it would get errrr sorry i love talking about it!!! Oh and i think lotr was one of the main reasons why i got into led zeppelin in 2020 - i even wrote a text with all the possible / direct connections with lotr that I could find (stairway to heaven is SOOOOOO galadriel coded i'm being very serious). (Also i have 3 led zeppelin vinyls and for a coincidence or not it's the 3 albums with at last one song with a connection with lotr / tolkien)

Hello, everyone! It’s that time of the year again! Are you all ready for Gallavich Week 2022? I’m so excited for this one! We’re doing things a bit differently this year, as you might have noticed. Spring is here! (well, in the Northern Hemisphere it is) The boys are ready for some spring cleaning. Are you?

Welcome to the first ever Gallavich Spring Cleaning!

What is that, you ask? Easy! It’s a multiwork event hosted by @gallavichfanficlibrary and yours truly (with some help of @gallavichprompts, thank you!) . That means any kind of work is accepted: fics, fanart, videos, gifs, you name it! Oh, and did I mention there are no requirements either? Drabbles and one-shots are more than welcome (my burn-out brain actually thanks you).

The only rule for this event is: it’s got to be PG-13 - in other words, clean. (Get it? Cause of spring cleaning? *wink wink* I’m very smart). That means no mature teams, no smut, no M18, no ~lemon~. Of course swearing is allowed (I mean, it’s still Ian and Mickey we are talking about), just keep it sfw. Think of it as a reverse kinktober, if you will.

Prompts are under the Read More. You can use only one, several or all of them. Mix and match, if you want to! Repeat them, even! They’re just your starting points!

Situation prompts:

Spring cleaning.

It's the first sunny day in what feels like forever, after several weeks of bad weather and storms that have kept them spending most of the time in their apartment.

Spring: sniffles, pollen, and tissues.

The Big Easter Egg Hunt.

The only thing Mickey knows about his soulmate is that he’s supposed to meet him in the spring.

Teenagers Ian and Mickey somehow end up spending St.Patrick’s Day together, and it’s not a date but it also kinda sorta feels like it might be?

Spring on the Westside feels different than on the Southside.

Ian and Mickey are slowly turning their apartment into a ‘home’, bringing small touches of themselves into it.

Mickey’s always been a light sleeper who has suffered from nightmares. It’s only when they finally get their apartment sorted that he starts to sleep well and really understand what a good night's sleep can be.

The lease on the apartment is almost up. (Do they stay in the apartment? Move out? Go apartment hunting? Hire a realtor?)

One day Ian comes across an injured cat and nurses it back to health. After a few days he finds a stranger on his couch and the cat is nowhere to see. (Shapeshifting AU)

The last thing Ian expects to see in the mysterious box that Mickey brings to the dugouts is kittens. And he definitely didn’t expect that they would end up caring for them together.

5 times they visited family members + 1 time the family members visited them.

Debbie wants to make a good old Gallaghers’ style BBQ. (Everything goes wrong.)

The king sends his best knight to kill the monster that lives in the forest. Turns out, the monster is pretty charming and doesn’t actually harm anyone.

OKAY LET'S DIVE INTO APOLLO WILL !

I have said before Will has always been artistic, which is an Apollo trait.

What we evoked earlier with Lucas, but this time for Will. We know Lonnie gave him a baseball bat, most likely to try and get him to be "masculine", since he is different than his peers. The thing with Apollo kids is that you KNOW they're Apollo kids, and if you don't, you know they're different.

Also, since Lonnie also taught him to shoot, I assume Will is a good shot. Everything that is about missile projectiles is basically given to Apollo kids.

THERE'S ALSO THIS. I know Hades' kids can do that too, but children of Apollo do that by redirecting the light, and you have to be gifted and skilled for that. What if a small kid, terrified and acting on instinct, turned himself invisible ? It's also nice to note that Apollo kids can also create heat to a certain degree, which is really cool if you're cold. *wink wink*

Children of Apollo can also have premonitions. Limited, granted, but still there. The hallucinations that Will could have with this... this is so good !

They also fear snakes. Now that's REALLY interesting. With the vines from the upside down to the dark particles, they all ressemble snakes one way or another, and I think that's an idea to exploit. Will not knowing why he's so afraid of snakes or what looks like snakes, adding this terror. Maybe even flashes of his own Father, you know ?

What if he was taken precisely because of his gifts, and disappeared into the labyrinth ? Minotaur is one creature of it, but someone might have put more (Henry maybe ? Wink wink)

ALSO ALSO Apollo kids can use sound waves. Will "I love The Clash" Byers will not pass this opportunity to put songs whenever he wants ! So what if he somehow finds a radio in the labyrinth (hey, no one said it couldn't be decorated !) And tried to contact someone ? Like, the radio isn't plugged in, but with his powers! That would be awesome.

(Small crumbs of Hades!Mike : he can sense when and if Will dies, and no one really believes him so he's slowly losing his mind because Will is still out there and everyone is "giving up" by his standards (they aren't, they just don't want to falsely hope))

I might still have more thoughts to come, so I'll probably compile it all up later !

NOW ARTEMIS!El !!! First, Artemis and Apollo are twins. I think that's already an explanation of its own.

Second, though I haven't chosen a godly parent for her yet, El choosing herself her "parent" is awesome. Finally she can do something she enjoys, instead of following what everyone has been saying. If she wants to be a huntress of Artemis, she should be able to be that ! It gives her autonomy, and an identity she made on her own and I find that beautiful.

(THOUGHT : SHE MIGHT BE AN HYPNOS KID. JUST SAYING)

YOU ARE GENIUS FOR KALI !!! HECATE SUITS HER SO WELL. Her tough personality and the fact she can hide herself from monsters ?? This is AWESOME I am on board.

My #1 post of 2022

"It wouldn't hurt to look around a bit before things start actually kicking off right-?"

They lightly murmured to themselves as they started to walk along

Soon things started picking up as the day went on notification after notification they went around the pizzeria fixing everything from slushy machines to fixing up map bots, between walking here and there they often would be able to snatch a snippet whenever the main animatronics went on stage,

Gradually things started coming to a slow of sorts between one of the ongoing meet and greets, and other activities going around arcades filled up with the sound of 8-bit songs, of course there was still many people coming in but it wasn't as such of a pout in as hours earlier, it was enough though for few, very few employees to take their breaks

The rookie came into the break room there uniform stained with presumably hot coffee, from the looks of it the whole cup chucked in their face, their fingers with a few little bandages here and there despite that they didn't seem to really mind it as they set themselves down with a cup of Faz ramen and a bottle of fizzy Faz

one of the employees glanced at them, then down at their fingers

"You're new right? Rough day?"

"Yeah, about a week in,still adjusting,"

the stranger hummed, seeming a bit amused at their state

"You'l find it gets better. We have lots of free time, since our employees are mostly robots anyway. 'Sure the place could run by itself honestly if not for repairs.... and incidents."

they concluded while swirling whatever was in their cup. Their other hand had a missing finger, they noted

"Yeah, it was, at the same time sometimes it didn't really.. feel that bad,"

They replied in a easy going tone, as they then took a big bit of the noodles,

"while I was walking to my next fix up a lady threw her coffee on me mistaking me for someone else,"

She added as she then took a sip out of her fazz cup

"Other than that, I think I'm going to like it here,"

"Hm. Sure, i mean, pay's good. Flexible hours... you get like a bunch of discounts..... atmosphere's kinda creepy. And you don't get used to it, but, it's a pretty good job."

After a moment they shrugged a little, "Maybe I'll find the atmosphere different for me? Who knows,"

They ate up the rest of the noodles quite satisfied as the warm broth when down their throat,

Moving to the fizzy Faz a ping went off on their watch,"Huh.. that will be.. interesting," they lightly murmured putting their wrist back down they waved a bit to the other employee as they got to their feet and started to head over to the daycare hands often fidgeting at their tool belt on the way over

hi!! i know its taken me a bit to answer this but here we go!!

(Here is the original ask game for those who want to see it or reblog it themselves. It is super fun!)

To those questions that are duplicates, I'll substitute with unanswered ones so I can still get through the questions I haven't yet!

13.) Which season do you like best?

That's a tough question!! In hindsight I really enjoy S1 for the nostalgia factor just because of how much it meant to me and helped traverse me into the rabbit hole of this entire fandom- I will admit that it's not as plot driven as S2. However while I do think S2 is better than S1 in that aspect... I'm going to have to say S3 for right now. I know it's short, and my favorite season changes a lot but I think just how everything ended... It's not bad, it's got lumity, and it's super plot driven.

I do admit though Kings Tide and Clouds on The Horizon though!! If they were in S3 it'd easily tip S3 over into being by far the best but also I just forget about the chokehold Enchanting Grom Fright had too!!! S3 for now.

14.) Do you like aus? Any aus by someone else that are a favorite of yours? Do you have any of your own?

I love aus!! They're so fun to both write and read. I always find them interesting to see how others portray the characters and in what roles they play. Of course I almost always lean toward reading Lumity-centered fics because I love seeing those two fall in love.

It's giving "I will love you in every timeline" energy, and as someone whos favorite trope is reincarnated soulmates/lovers it checks out.

In terms to some of my favorite aus? I have a few I'll link below, but I have a few of my own that I've came up with (more so specifically my vampire one that was created out of sort of spite for not seeing something I wanted to see- I'll give a brief thing but in 2020 it was uncommon to find vampire toh fics where Amity was the vampire and not Luz. Me being me wanted to see if I could turn that idea into something and well.. Here I am.

When I get more aus done, I'll come back with more for that but here are some of my favorites and I highly recommend and LOVE to hear or have talks about them (no one ever talks about them with me and grrr!!! I love talking abt lumity fanfiction)

1.) learning how to be (with you by my side)- uniqueusernamegenerator [A COLLEGE LUMITY AU THAT I WILL NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT BECAUSE I ABSOLUTELY WILL NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT THIS FIC. READ THIS PLEASE ARGHHH!!!!! I AM BLASTING THIS AUTHOR WITH SO MUCH LOVE BECAUSE I LOVE THIS ONE SM.]

2.) I'll Catch You - Black_Cat_Autumn - [A soulmark band au where Luz and Amity have matching words but neither know apart from the fact that Luz wrote a song about hers in hopes to find her soulmate. Beautifully written!! I absolutely loved this when I read it, I cannot give it enough praise for having such a sweet ending. I literally devoured this fic in a day or so because I was so hooked. So invested. The ending!! I have the last little quote screenshotted in my phone somewhere because I love it sm!! This au was awesome.]

3.) all I've got is my heart (and pride) [Mechanic Luz, that also has an EXTREMELY amazing description of autisim and ADHD. I love the analogy that the author has about the bees. Everything about this fic was amazing and I guarentee that you will not be able to put it down once you start it. Everyone I show this fic to always tells me they literally stay up reading it. Everything about it, I love. INCLUDING the implication of NONBINARY LUZ!!!! My heart, this fic is awesome and not to be overlooked even if the summary isn't the best at capturing its contents <3]

15.) Favorite antagonist? Why?

AMITY!!! For many reasons but her character development shows a lot throughout the changes she goes through. Also Lilith for the same reason, but I wish we had more time to properly explore that growth because I love Lilith, but dear titan that arc was rushed.

Amity because while it MAY be an easy answer, her entire character changes, but not in the way that fits Luz but in a way that grows with her. Luz sees Amity for who she is and throughout her development we see her changing into finding her own voice and finding/being who she wants to be.

16.) Common theory that you disagree with?

I have already answered this question here.

I will substitute this question with 18 I won't answer them out of order lengthwise because it'll annoy me.

17.) Character you want to like, but don't? Why?

This is going to be such a hot take but Hunter. I get the love people have for him, but I just feel like the fandom glamorizes him in spaces that make it almost feel toxic in a way. I get the whole character arc of wanting to love and appreciate his development but some people in this fandom (NOT ON HERE!!) that I've came into contact within passing have just taken liking him way too far. I don't see people appreciating Gus enough or Vee. Instead, its Hunter- Which IS TOTALLY UNDERSTANDABLE, and everyone is allowed to have opinions, I just feel like some people take it too far. Thankfully everyone here is pretty chill and like Hunter isn't down my throat as hard. Plus his fanart is really cool too.

I'm indifferent to him more so now but hes just not my FAVORITE character but I do see his appeal. I'm just not diehard kin. Hunter kins scare me too, like are yall okay over there?? Get some sleep with those eyebags.

Like hes cool!! I just don't love him enough to be obsessed over him, but complete props to those who are, and I appreciate all the talent yall give for creating art about him. I know that even if hes not my favorite, he doesn't have to be because there are people who understand and relate and love him and that's a good thing. He deserves to be loved, I hope that makes sense??? I promise I'm not trying to bash him.

18.) Character you used to dislike, and now like? What changed your mind?

Lilith??? I just think her growth (even if small in comparison to Hunter's and Amitys) through the time we saw her helped to shift the story in a more interesting light (pun intended). I think while yeah, I did really REALLY hate her in the beginning because she was a complete bitch-- We really grew to see her in a different way and how she overall turned the tide of things. I really wonder things about the curse still though.

Also cannon aroace character?? HELLO??? SO SLAY. I love that representation.

20.) Which character do you relate to most?
