older woman at work very upset that i asked her, as per store policy, to leave her large bag either in her car or on the table at the front.

complained that her phone and cards are all in her giant bag and she absolutely cannot take them out so she sat in a chair at the front for half an hour, complaining to my coworkers (who backed me up) that she feels discriminated against and feels as though we are prejudiced because other people have come in with large bags and we didn’t ask them not to.

for the record, it’s saturday at a flea market in one of the busiest places in town. we are fucking slammed. we can’t keep track of every customer with a bag 😭😭
