Kipperlily being jealous of Riz from the jump because she wants to be a classic fantasy hero rising up from messed up circumstances is actually so fucked. If you will go back to Freshman year in your mind: Sklonda eating her cereal with water so Riz can have milk, Riz saying he can watch the palimpsest because no one is going to notice he’s gone, going from thinking his father was in a run of the mill accident to was probably murdered, finding out you’ve been unknowingly chasing after your father’s murderer the whole time… Kipperily is jealous that Riz has had a hard life. She’s jealous that he has suffered and believes that gives him an unfair advantage. That seems to be the root the rage god cultists or Jace or whatever used. Her jealousy and feelings that she’s owed tragedy instead of her picture perfect life, that it’s unfair her classmate has suffered not because he’s also a child but because it wasn’t her.

I am so amazed at how well the intrepid heroes have been doing for this season's mystery. Like, in previous seasons, everyone's had great moments, even those who weren't very investigative, to contribute. But this season, they've definitely come together as more of a team and really carefully trying to solve it. I think twice (at least) now, someone made an incredibly on point deduction that Brennan said "no roll necessary" and just confirmed it.

Part of it is probably how the mechanics are set up that some parts of the mystery are involved or can only be unlocked outside of the mystery track for everyone (which, Brennan, your mind for orchestrating this, wild). But I am just so happy to how well they've done well. I love them so much 🥺❤

Pointing out the painfully obvious here, but i just find that Insane because i want to know so BADLY what the ratgrinders' interpersonal dynamic is like; we know oisin and ivy are best friends, and kipperlilly and... Lucy... were very close... But ruben probably just does not like kipperlilly? or maybe just... doesn't care. like, why are they even all together? what are the others' friendships like? are they even friendships? im thinking back to when oisin told ivy they had to leave because kipperlilly was calling them, and, to me, that did not read as 'oh, my friend needs us," but more like, "ugh, kipperlilly needs us to do something again."

Just what is your DEAL. and obviously i know that students get failed if their adventuring parties change during the school year, but they still could've changed parties over the summers and faced no penalty. how did they form? how did they start off? what are they like together? how much do they even like each other, how much have they ever liked each other? what happened to them?
