Do u have any social and tips on drawing?
Not sure what ya mean on 'social' but I do have drawing tips!
-Practice! This is probably the tip you will hear from ANY and EVERY artist, but it really is true. You will not improve if you do not practice. When I say 'practice' what I mean is this: Draw as much as you can when you can. If you only draw for 5-minutes once a month, you're not going to improve like someone who draws daily. How much and often you practice will also be determined by your lifestyle. Work, school, social life, other hobbies ect are important as well, so remember your balance. Also, PLEASE use references. No, using references is not and will never be cheating. Anyone who tells you otherwise is full of it. Also, draw as much variety as you can as well. Always be willing to work out of your comfort zone, but also don't feel as though you have to force yourself to draw things you don't want to all the time. Balance. When practicing, utilize tutorials that you can find literally everywhere and try watching speedpaints/draws. They help me a lot!
-Learn your anatomy! Your art will improve so much quicker when you take time to learn anatomy. For some, learning anatomy in art is fun while for others, it's a bit of a drag. However, it's super important. Once you know your anatomy, you can push things in terms or art style because as the saying goes 'You have to know the rules to break them'. So before you go all cartoony and wobbly with your anatomy for a style, try to know the actual anatomy first. it helps!
-Artist > Tools! No, you don't need an expensive tablet or art program or marker set or brush set ect, ect. The tools do not make the art, the artist does. Yes, tools can make things easier and can be fun to experiment with and eventually everyone finds what they prefer more, but the more expensive your art equipment is doesn't mean that your work will turn out better. If you're a beginner artist, play with cheap mediums first. Crayola crayons and MS Paint can still make art. Only put money into supplies, tools, and programs that you know you will utilize to its worth. If you're brand-new to digital art, for example, don't go looking into a tablet that costs hundreds of dollars. I started digital art with Gimp (a free art program) and my computer mouse. I've used a mouse longer than I've used my tablet so far and even though I've traded in my mouse days for my tablet, I was still able to make some good art with the mouse.
-Get Inspired By Others, But Don't Compare! Every artist, big and small has looked at someone else's work and told themselves "Why can't I draw like that? My work isn't as good as theirs.". This is a good way to put yourself down and to take the fun out of your art along with turning a blind eye to the progress you have actually made. Instead, look at other people's work and inspire yourself. What about their work do you like? Is there any technique that they do that you can try out? Break down how they put their art together and maybe you can learn from it. Of course, never copy a person's artwork or directly steal, but take away inspiration. Do you like how they do facial expressions? Do you like they way they do anatomy? Do you like how their lineart looks? Do you like how they color? What about someone else's art do you love, and take inspiration. Take it from multiple sources and you'll find all sorts of unique ways people make art that you can try out for yourself!
-KEEP YOUR OLD ART! Especially if you're a beginner at art, this is important. It's super easy to look at your art and go 'ew', before deleting it or throwing it in the trash. Don't do that. Your future self will thank you for hanging onto all of your old art so you can go back and see just how much you've truly improved. Also, it's fun to go back and redraw old art!
These are just some tips I have and I do hope they help!

// question for you, dear mac, if you're up for it. i've been thinking about getting back into drawing. it's been *years*, and i was curious if you had any advice for wading back in, especially as it comes to warm up exercises and just getting started? i know that there's a degree of 'you just have to do it'; it's always what i tell writers. but i've been so stuck on how to do some of this on *easy mode* so i don't overwhelm myself. if you're up for sharing your thoughts with all of us! ^_^ love you bunches!
Oh man, I honestly might not be the best to ask for advice LMAO but I can certainly try to help!
More often than not what stirs me to draw is whatever is at the forefront of my attention span. Any hyperfixation I latch onto is the driving force behind not only my ability to draw, but my motivation to do so. So, genuinely, just draw what you’re most passionate about at any given time! It’s perfectly okay if you want to do studies with different aspects of art like anatomy, color theory, etc. but if you’re just dusting off the old drawing tools, I’d recommend centering it around something that gets your hand itching to create. Probably bad advice recommending skipping the basics, but it usually discourages me from creating art, so I hate recommending that as a first step.
Creating is a lot easier said than done when jumping back into drawing, though. So, seriously, I recommend finding some of your favorite art pieces and tracing over them to get back in the groove. People always always look down on tracing, but it’s seriously so helpful as an exercise as long as you’re not posting it and claiming it as your own. That’s what I did when I was a kid, and it helped me find my own style and art process. Tracing can also be beneficial in helping you find the specific look you want for your art. Try different pens, colors, shading to find what you’re comfortable with without having to worry about WHAT you’re creating. That’s where a lot of people get hung up on.
That advice is mostly targeted at digital art, so if you’re working with traditional media, start practicing finding ✨shapes✨ in those art pieces you love. If you need a visual for what I mean, just ask and I can either make something or find some links for you— I know that’s kind of vague =w=;; Anyway, pull the art up on your phone or computer and try and copy it down onto paper. Focus on visualizing the shapes that make up a piece to make it easier to mimic. I always fall back onto traditional art when I’m trying to adjust my style since digital art has its own pressures that get in the way for me.
After you get a bit more comfortable, start finding some references for ideas that are rattling around in your head! Start simple since you don’t want to burn yourself out too much. Do you like drawing character’s faces? Expressions? Environment? Clothing? Hands? Feet??? Little sus but who am I to judge… Tackle your favorites first and slowly start branching out into more complicated pieces! If things aren’t looking right to you, watch some speedpaints or tutorials for your specific hang ups. Also, START COLLECTING ART!!! My phone storage is 99% of art that makes me go “OH WOW.” Figure out WHY a specific art piece calls to you and practice implementing it into your own pieces!
Mainly, don’t stress about your work and just have fun with it! It’s very very easy to start comparing your work to others, but if you’re wanting to create, focus on that feeling: of that joy from putting an idea onto paper and bringing it to life!! If you’re still facing hang ups, more than likely you just have to power through it until you reach a break through. That’s where the “practice makes progress” comes in, sadly 😮‍💨

Hi!!
I really love your Power Rangers art!! Can you share your art process? :)
Hello! Thank you ☺️
To start, I am mainly a digital artist and my preferred programs are Procreate on the iPad or Clip Studio on the computer!
My process begins with trying figure out what character I want to draw, what emotion I want to display, what pose, and honestly how much effort and time I want to put into it haha! I use a lot of inspiration from comics, stories, tv, and Pinterest.
Once I have a path set I begin with sketching on the canvas. The sketching phase goes through a lot of different phases and ideas. Luckily in digital art I can easily erase a whole canvas if I need to. Once a gesture is finally decided on and I’ve roughly sketched the main features of what I’m drawing I begin the line art process. My lineart is heavily superhero comicbook inspired (I have a lot of inspiration from Dan Mora!) so often my pieces are lineart heavy, and have marks and hatchings to indicate forms and deep shadows. I also use lineart to help show the texture of an object or thing (like fur or rocks) from time to time.
Once the piece is lined, I’ve recently gotten into coloring the whole figure with a solid color, and then selecting it and coloring it over with flat colors. Once the flat colors are done, I usually shade with a marker like brush. When the basic shading is done, I add any sort of light effects, filters, and any other sort of detail to help bring the piece to life. After that I’m usually done!
Sometimes for bigger pieces and things I want to dedicate more time to, I’ll make thumbnail sketches in my sketchbooks before starting it. Though I honestly don’t do this often.
Occasionally I post speedpaint videos on my TikTok if you want a visual art process! My TikTok is Bayyssart

Do you have any advice/tips/tricks for new artists?
I’m definitely not the most qualified for this but I’ll try my best!! 😅
I kind of started out sort of using other artists’ art as references (just personal studies that I threw away right after) - that’s how I actually got into drawing. I did it for fun and when I finished I thought, “Huh. Neat” (even though it was terrible) and then I just tried a few more. Unlike working from real references, some artists may choose to have a style that’s more simplified and easier to understand. (Do keep in mind that you should never just trace it and repost online.)
Another thing I took from were speedpaints and tutorials - and they don’t really all help me, but they at least give me some motivation, even if they make it look overwhelmingly easy. They help break down the steps and give you a process so that you don’t only see the masterful finished product and that the beginnings can be rough. There has been, however, two (2) that really did help a lot. (Probably will drop the talented users in the tags 💞💞)
And honestly? Most of it has been just, making up shit, and that’s okay! Even if you have no idea what you’re doing, it’s not going to hurt your art progress, and often times you learn from them. Explore things, different styles, programs, tools, until you find some you’re comfortable with. And don’t worry if you’re unsure, this process takes a ton of time, so just keep exploring. Sometimes you just gotta say “This looks bad to me, but it helped me learn this and that.”
Another good thing to do is find a group of friends willing to support you! You could share your shitposts to more serious drawings and get their feedback. Bounce off ideas off each other, find other artists. People encouraging you to push on can do more than you’d think.
This is said. A lot. You hear it everywhere, but it’s commonly said for a reason, y’know? Practice. Practicing is so much of the gig. No one’s going to automatically be amazing at art, which also means that if your art isn’t what you want it to be right now? Doesn’t mean it’s never gonna get there. Try your best to draw everyday! Don’t worry if it varies, do whatever the fuck you want, this is for you. A two second scribble one day and a portrait study the next? Heck yeah.
Last general advice, methinks, is to use references. I’m a huge hypocrite for this because I just. Randomly put stuff down. But don’t ever be afraid to use them. They’re a resource all artists have used.
Onto more technical stuff -
Digital Art Programs (that I’ve tested and would recommend)
-Firealpaca (computer) and Medibang (computer & tablet): Always my recommendations. They’re absolutely free and easy to install, yet they offer such a reliable program. They’re basically the same, to be honest
-Krita (computer): I don’t really know how to use this but it’s free and capable of producing gorgeous pieces of art.
-Photoshop (computer & tablet): I started with this, it’s pretty good, but my personal issues made it just keep crashing, so I’m not very versed in it 😅 but it lives up to its hype.
-Procreate (tablet): Good for painting, but lineart is a little harder, in my opinion. The brush stabilization is wack. But it’s very comfortable and whelming to use, worth the ten bucks. You can also download a fuck ton of free brushes online, always a plus (I SWEAR I get twenty more every day)
-Autodesk Sketchbook (tablet & computer [?]): The interface is very similar to Procreate, so if you want a subsititute for Procreate, go ahead! In my opinion, it’s a little harder to use, though.
-Paint Tool Sai (computer) and Clip Studio Paint (both): Never tried, but probably really good, I know a lot of people who use them.
[Do keep in mind that starting out with free programs is enough, and many extremely good artists stick with them!]
Traditional art stuff -
-Same stuff applies, you don’t need advanced supplies to create good art!
-Hoard sketchbooks like a dragon, eat hot chip, and cry
-A lot of professional artists prefer sketching/inking traditionally and then digitally coloring it
-My favorite traditional supplies are charcoal pencils, if that’s anything? 😂 I find them more comfortable to use than pencils.
-You can tell I can’t do traditional to save my life, I’m SO sorry if you do traditional dhdkhd
-Brushes can be bought cheap!! They’ll still work just as well (many supplies that come cheaper are still good, I got a whole set with paint, a sketchbook, etc. for under twenty USD)
-Some advice I took from a youtube video somewhere: Have two notebooks, one for more serious artwork and one just to do anything in, as we know we all have failures and get nervous to fuck up. This ensures that you unleash your creativity! In that notebook, don’t worry about making your drawings look good, just put your ideas down.
This is getting to the point that I’m just rambling, so I’ll end it here. Hope it helps, even though I should follow my own advice- ❤️❤️❤️ good luck, you GOT this, anon!

So I just found what has to be the coolest feature in Clip Studio Paint PRO/EX for comic book artists
Generally when I do my comics I always do them by hand and step by step. You know, doing the sketch, cleaning it, making layers to colour in, and then of course blocking it and painting loose colours over to give it a painterly effect. But, today I realized that Clip Studio Paint introduced a feature a few months ago that acts like a colorize mask with a painterly-ish effect which makes the work SO much easier and faster! And seeing how many people in the Good Omens fandom (and on Tumblr in general) struggle with making colouring methods faster (which are annoying when you end up spending way longer than needed on *one finger*), or how many comic artists are always on a time crunch, then I will show you how to make a fast colouring of a sketch! I wish I had known this sooner, honestly. (I’m pretty sure a lot of people already use this option but I’m new to these technythingies so I thought I could share it for those who didn’t know). First, you do your sketch (ft. Anathema this time around). Just some clean lines sketch.
Tumblr media
Once the sketch is done (black lines + transparent background), you select that layer and click on the button above said layer, called “reference layer”). This will set your sketch to main linework so the AI will take the conctours into account. (PLUS: IT WORKS WITH GRAYSCALE PAINTINGS HURRAY).
Tumblr media
Once the Reference Layer is set, make a new layer underneath and bloc in some colours. Doesn’t need to be neat, or clean, just make sure all the colours from your main palette are there!
Tumblr media
Once the colours are ready, You go to this menu shown down below and click the second option while the block paint layer is selected.
Tumblr media
The computer will take it’s time to make this, so just wait and see what happens. IMPORTANT: YOU MUST HAVE INTERNET CONNECTION TO USE THIS FEATURE. Voilá! Colour blocking done in minutes! The layer by default is set to Multiply and on top of the lineart/sketch layer. I changed that by setting the layer to “normal”, put it underneath the sketch layer, and also changed the linecolour to multiply with a brown colour to not keep any heavy harsh lines.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now that the layer is set, the colours seem off. You will notice that there are a few colours that are off, didn’t pick properly, and that the tones are extremely light and desaturated. To fix that, you will go to the correction menues and and fix the colours with Brightness/Contrast and Hue/Saturation/Luminescence until you get the tones you want. After that, you will have to repaint parts to make it look pretty, like a common artwork done without the AI. But, you have to admit, it’s way faster and the colours being so blended actually look like the typical style done with loose paint strokes!
Tumblr media
This is how the sketch looks with the fixing needed, and repainting several partsin the process.
Tumblr media
Now, this is an optional thing but I love using this feature because it’s SO USEFUL FOR ANY ARTIST EVER and it’s in the realm of nitpicking. If you click on this option and set the type of fixing you want, the AI will try to soften all harsh lines and pixels in the drawing, so it looks smoother and more professional. To use this option I tend to combine all the layers into one, and set the option on “low” and then gradually repeat this option until the lines and colours are smooth enough.
Tumblr media
Before:
Tumblr media
After:
Tumblr media
And this is the final result. It’s literally a fast sketch done in fifteen minutes, and it looks just like the other painted comics that I did before with the colour blocking and mask layers.
Tumblr media
FAST PSA: I do not recommend this to people who have issues colouring or who haven’t practiced enough. This is so useful and fast to use that you will not learn proper colour theory or painting techniques, so it is borderline cheating territory if you’ve never coloured or drew something before. Mostly think about it on a professional position: if you are ever hired to work as a colourist and they ask you to use another software that’s not CSP, then you will be in trouble because you will not know how to paint or colour properly. But to those who have enough experience and are tired of spending time on colouring silly thingies (or professional thingies), this is a powerful feature that will defeat deadlines in a snap of your fingers! And if you can’t use CSP: KRITA (freeware software and my favourite program alongside CSP) has a similar option, the Colorize mask, but it’s not as painterly as the CSP one. KRITA is more defined and works on vector mode which is perfect for north american/harsh line comics and illustrations.
This is a video tutorial from my Youtube channel where I explain how to use the Colorize Mask in KRITA for fast processing images in minutes when on a time crunch. (I also have more tutorials and speedpaints on my channel).

And this is how I normally paint my artworks:

i was wonder what system you used to do digital art? and what brushes?? cuz your art is amazing, but i just cant figure out how you get that texture. also have you considered doing speedpaints?? i think that would b really cool. anyways, bye!
i use autodesk sketchbook pro!! autodesk has a bunch of different programs and brushes you can use, the version i have is one that i downloaded from their website when they advertised the pro version for free. i think you can still find it if you dig around a bit but if you can’t find it they also have the app for phones or computers, both versions are mostly the same i think!!
for brushes i use the default ones they have and modify the settings a bit for texture :) here’s an ask i answered a while back where i talked about it a bit! my lineart is just kinda all over the place in terms of brushes because i tend to use different ones based on the piece’s mood or my patience for clean stuff vs sketches. and here’s an ask about overlay  i did because i tend to use that a lot for lighting!!
i’d love to do speedpaints, my problem is that i don’t usually have the patience or time to sit down and draw something all in one go, it’s usually staggered over a couple days. so if i ever recorded it i’d have to like, put all the different clips together and knowing me i’d forget to record an entire chunk or something lol. i also haven’t found a free/cheap screen recording software or editing thing that works well. but it’s still something i really wanna do so as soon as i figure that out hopefully i can start posting speedpaints too!!!

6 CONCEPT ARTISTS
https://conceptartempire.com/famous-concept-artists/#:~:text=%20Top%20Famous%20Professional%20Concept%20Artists%20%201,in%20character%20design.%20His%20work%20can...%20More%20
JOHANNES HELGESON
Helgeson is a Swedish-born concept artist and illustrator that focuses a lot on character concept art for games. However he is also able to create art for a wide range of things like landscapes and inanimate objects. his artwork is incredibly stylised and had a lot of character to each piece. i really like his style as its unique and reminds me a lot of an animation style. he also draws a lot digitally as well as traditionally which is a great still to have for character art. Helgeson can also use Low poly 3D modelling and texturing.
Tumblr media
DAREK ZABROCKI
“Darek Zabrocki is a Polish concept artist who has been drawing since the age of 3. His portfolio site is full of amazing work from top industry clients like FOX, Sega, Sony, and DreamWorks.” he focuses a lot on landscape illustrations that show anything between beautiful cities and battle fields, aswell as exploring diffierent time periods from all the way back in ancient greece as well as all the way in the future with sci-fi. his work is honestly incredible.
Zabrocki has also produced a few art tutorials that teach concept art and illustrations along with speedpaints of his art work that show his entire process which is fascinating to watch.
i really like Derek's work but unfortunately its not my type of concept art since i want to do character art. however its still really cool to cool at and may help me get a better understanding of landscapes for my own comic art.
Tumblr media
JORGE JACINTO
Jacinto is a Portuguese digital artist who has been working on concept art and illustration for at least 9 years. he started his career by working for the video game industry but later moved to freelance where he has stuck ever since. Jacinto's has great passion for cinema, videogame development, cg and the world of creativity.
the artist works primarily on illustration and visual development of different environments around a fantasy and sci-fi. he worked for a console and mobile games as well as several illustrations for books, cd covers, marketing campaigns and other projects. Some of the companies he has worked for include Blizzard Entertainment, Paizo Entertainment, Axis Animation, Ironside Computers, ImagineFX, DeviantArt, SyFy, The Void VR, X-Team as well as a large number of independent clients.
i think Jacinto's work is incredible, I'm a big fan of fantasy and most of his illustrations are filled with so much personality really setting in the fantasy feel. the colour and lighting is also used incredibly which also helps bring the environment to life. i don't think ill ever go this direction in concept art since I stick more to character art but its still a good skill to draw dynamic backgrounds and concepts for environments.
Tumblr media
CEDRIC PEYRAVERNAY
Peyravernay is a French concept artist who uses incredible and intense realism to create primarily characters but also does environments. despite being drawing realism he does however mesh it with a sci-fi fantasy theme. I an tell he enjoys going into different time periods and experimenting with topics such as steampunk.
i really like peyravernay’s work. his digital paintings look almost like it was done with canvas and paint as he stuck to that paint like aesthetic where u can see the brush marks. I don't tend to do digital paintings but its still a cool direction to go into when looking at concept art beyond cartoon and videogames. i also really like his steampunk themed work as its something i want to experiment with more in the future.
Tumblr media
DAVE MELVIN
Melvin’s is a freelance artists that art work sticks out a lot as he focuses more on digital art involving monsters and aliens.
“I've done my best to establish a niche for myself as an illustrator and concept artist that does not conform to standards, but instead break them and go above and beyond what anyone else has done. Whether it's revitalizing old themes or coming up with completely new ones, I always put everything I have into making the viewer revaluate what something can be. I pride myself on tirelessly pursuing the perfect concept and creating everyday.”
to Melvin, concept art is all about design and this can seen his work. He breaks tends to break down his pieces in order to show his art process to the public and in his portfolio. But while some pieces follow a consistent theme you can always see unique patterns in his paintings.
monster creation is defiantly something I want to do. despite sticking to current themes of vampires and demons, i eventually want to experiment more with the gruesome horrifying side of monster creation. making something really unique out of the depths of your imagination.
Tumblr media
CLARE HUMMEL
Hummel is an American concept artist that focuses primarily on the world of game and interactive media. she has been their for roughly nine years. hummel has been  contributing to a number of projects including Westworld VR, Fable Legends, Sunset Overdrive, and Bioshock Infinite. her artistic passion involves drawing a lot of cowboys, dinosaurs, rocks, and historical fashion.
despite her artwork not being as grand as the others on this list. I do still really like her work. its the kind of art path i want to stick too in the future as its cartoony and works perfectly for both comic and animation.

oh and btw, I know I said I was going to do a speedpaint for the next part, and I will, but just not right now. Due to my computer being a complete ass, I found out I put a protection plan on it...so I had to completely wipe out EVERYTHING on it (of course saving a lot of stuff first). I sent the computer to Walmart where I got it, and a week later it returns “good as new”, which is a complete lie, it’s still a sack of shit and is like, freaking me out sometimes when I work on this blog because of how fucked up it is, like this morning it had a hard time charging and it was about to die, but eventually I got it to charge thankfully... but the whole reason I’m telling this story is because this is why i need to save $500 bucks and when I wiped out my computer, my video program went with it. When I tried to download it back, it wouldn’t let me because there’s a new version of it out. So either I save $30 on this program and use it on this computer, or I wait until I get a new computer and then get the program...so I’m sorry but the speedpaint will have to wait a while

Who changed? The Internet or me?
My first introduction to the internet was my dad telling me about it in the later nineties, in the UK. I think he used it at work, but I’m not entirely sure. Can’t really ask him now.
When we moved to Spain, I recall being allowed access to it, I’d play the Cbeebies website on sundays. I don’t remember which games I played.
I know that when I got older I started using the CBBC, I do remember a game about these puffs in a garden or something along those lines.
I remember a party designing game and plenty of dress up. I vaguely remember the Barbie website and that I enjoyed it.
I remember watching all of the Barbie movies on YouTube and playing on that GoGirlGames site or something.
A lot of this sites are still around, nowhere near as good as I remember, but they’re around.
My dad used to download demos from Shockwave or BigFishGames for me to play while on holidays, I have fond memories of some of these games. Some, like VirtugalVillagers I even still play to this day. Goodnes, how I loved Virtual Villagers.
I remember messenger when I was in late primary school, probably around ten years old? Perhaps younger. I had a laptop I shared with my younger sibling, up until then I mainly played video games on it, one’s I had on disk or that my dad downloaded for me. But messenger was different.
I liked it, at first, I could make sparkly text and send funny images. I didn’t like who I talked to.
I got messenger because the other kids at school told me I had to. Once on there they had a nice private place to tell me everything that was wrong with me, I remember them telling me I didn’t dress nice enough, that my hair was all curly and bad. I remember being told if I was just a bit more pretty, maybe I could have friends.
It was a message types into the computer and sent through the internet over ten years ago, probably closer to fifteen, I still remember how much it hurt. I can’t recall if I cried or not, I can’t recall how I acted, all I know is it hurt. It stills hurts. Which is weird, because it was stupid, I didn’t dress bad and my hair is beautiful, it’s the one thing I get compliments on the most, I don’t know why my bully said those things. I don’t know why she hated me.
There probably isn’t an actual reason.
That’s the weird thing about the stuff we do as children, there isn’t always a reason to it.
In secondary school the internet changed into something more positive. I used to doodle a lot in class, it helped me concentrate, I had a new friend at the time, someone who finally accepted me and was honest and made my life better. She looked at my doodled in awe, saying how she could never do that and how amazing it was. That made me happy. It made me blush and I didn’t know how to feel, but thinking back to that now, it makes me happy still.
At the time I had a DS, I played a lot of pokemon, I got into Mystery Dungeon, specifically darkness, I’d google it on the internet. I ended up watching mostly speedpaints on YouTube.
I was in awe at what people could do. So I took the program I had on my old laptop, used a mouse and drew. I don’t know how I found DeviantART, but I did, and I published stuff on it.
I remember a girl my age commented on the picture, we quickly became friends, she introduced me other like minded individuals. We often made friends online, we were an always growing group, we used to play text based RPG together, we’d draw each other’s characters, create new characters, write stories together, chat. We became teenagers and with teenagers comes drama.
This was all such a long time ago. Yet these were still important relationships to me. I wish things hand’t ended.
I remember one of the girls was a bit older, she was super friendly and always had good advise. I remember crying when she told me she would pray for my dad when he was diagnosed with cancer.
Those people on the internet, who I never ever saw, they were as much my friends as the girl I mentioned before, whow as in awe at my art, who was the first person I told about the diagnosis, I remember that first day at school after my dad was diagnosed, I thougth I was hiding my pain well, she saw through it and hugged me so tight I remember crying. I cried because she hugged me, I cried because my intenter friend prayed.
The relationships I had online were meaningful. They helped me through hard times.
I also remember RPG forus, fandoms, tumblr and fanfiction.
Not all of this things are gone but they sure as hell have changed.
Nowadays, I wish I could build this meaningful relationships online. But I don’t. I don’t really know why. Is it me or the internet? I don’t recall ever seeking out these relationships as a kid, they just happened, people commented, you responded. It was natural.
Nowadays, the Internet doesn’t really feel like a two way road to me. I publish stories on Wattpad and my own site because I don’t know where else to put them, usually nobody reads them, I publish art on Instagram because deviantART has too much bitter sweet nostalgia, likes are exciting at first, but there not really feedback, I publish my thoughts on tumblr and open my heart on YouTube. But I do so alone.
I also get information from the internet, a lot of it. But again, this is one way conversation. I say what 2+2 is and the internet responds 5. Then I check five other sources because something doesn’t sound right.
Sometimes I hold conversation, usually in the commend section of a YouTube video about some noche topic. But more than often, I find myself talking to myself. That’s what the internet is for me now, it’s me talking to myself.
So I ask myself, what changed? The Internet or me?
Or perhaps, both?
Because I’d be a fall to assume the Internet is static, it hasn’t been since the day I was born. But neither am I. Two of my roommates are a couple who met on an online game, so I know people do build meaningful relationships online. But not me. Had the internet changed where other people, different to myself are the ones to build relationships now?
Or perhaps, perhaps all those years ago, what happened to me was a one off, a stroke of luck, a pure coincidence. Perhaps neither the Internet or me have changed, and I’m just wondering why I never won the lottery a second time?
I’m not upset about this. I ponder it often. But my life is different now. Yes I miss my online friends, I also miss plenty of offline ones. I’m not lonely. I have friends, I live with them in a home I call my own.
I just wonder what changed and why. Because knowing things are different but not knowing how is a frustrating feeling.
Perhaps I should take a break from the internet, but everything I do is online. I draw using references from a site, I write on the OneDrive site to ensure it’s never lost... I don’t understand people who can take breaks from the internet. It doesn’t seem real to me. Perhaps I’m the one who isn’t real. I haven’t after all existed in a world without the internet. The real world, as my dad would say. Perhaps I am as real as the internet?

i know you probably get asked this question a lot, but are you planning on uploading any new content onto your youtube channel? youre a huge inspiration to my friends and i, we always used to get super stoked when you uploaded. i hope you have an awesome day, sorry if this is annoying !!
No, not annoying at all!! I totally understand. Thank you so much for sticking around for so long, even though I’ve been on a break forEVER! I’m just really busy with work and getting my life together (being an adult SUCKS) so I haven’t really had time to put out as much art or speedpaints as I used to. :( It’s definitely still something I want to get back into though, and as soon as I get a little bit more settled down with life, I absolutely plan to make my gRANDIOSE COMEBACK!!
I also need to get a new computer because wow, the one I have is on the actual verge of death lol. But that’s a secondary thing.

Video
This is my part for Broken Wing’s MAP, link to that and their channel here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCX35Ca4AJk
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCftXY-8bl0ElNvy_2FpmIjw/featured
This was quite refreshing to work on, especially while I’m working on a near 3 minute digital animatic. It’s nice to do some art without staring at a screen the whole time. Below the keep reading bit I go more in depth about some of the stuff that happened while I was working on this and some pictures I took while working on it.
Behind the Scenes
I drew about 20 frames for this animation, in the video I ended up repeating 5 of the frames for a total of 25 frames. Here’s a picture of the frames before I inked them.
Tumblr media
I used a makeshift light table to help animate and some of the suppiles I’d had on hand to complete the animation. Some of the Supplies I used are pictured below. The paint brush was an old one I’d had, I used it to get the eraser shavings off the paper without smuging the pencil lines.
Tumblr media
The actual animation from concept skeches to final inked animation took about the length of a day to finish, but I worked on it over the coarse of two.
When I was editing the video together my editing program stopped working properly. The preview of the video in the program and the produced video’s timings were off. So to get the video timed out somewhat correctly I had to make guesses on how I should edit it, produce the video, watch the video and repeat the process again, making tweeks. I think the problem was have too many frames in a short period of time and the software couldn’t handle it or do it for some reason. My editing program came with my computer so maybe it’s because it’s technically a “free” version, maybe it lacks features the normal one would have. It would also explain why I can’t make speedpaints with it. Or the problem was my own error, I don’t know.
Again this was a fun project to work on and I thank Broken wing for putting on the project.

Stay safe and stay sane everyone! This too shall pass, Star Creatures ★
Before I get into the post, I just wanted to let you all know that I know it’s hard to not get a little antsy while we’re all quarantined, but I encourage you to take full advantage of the day and age we live in to keep your mind stimulated. Do not neglect yourself - mentally or physically - on account of the circumstances. View this as an opportunity to learn/or something new, develop a healthy new habit, or to accomplish goals you’ve been putting off until you could “get around to it.” For anyone in need of some mental stimulation, my suggestion and what I’m using this opportunity for is to listen to a lot of bands I’ve been meaning to dive deeper into. Anyone who hasn’t heard of them, artists I highly recommend are Kamelot, Emilie  Autumn, Eluveitie, or Renard (Lapfox Trax).
Hello hello again!
In my previous update post I went over all my short term goals, but I have a vision for the long term as well. The goals in this post are the long term goals that make up that vision, will require a lot of patience, hard work, and money to achieve, and I’d ideally like to accomplish these goals over the next five years at maximum.
I know that this is going to sound like a bad kick-off point, but bare with me - I promise you I’m not putting myself down, rather, I’m building myself up. Once upon a time I considered myself a “Jack of All Trades” but that common turn of phrase ends with “master of none.”
If I’m being completely up front, drawing, painting, etc. is not actually my forte. I actually fancy myself more of a designer, sculptor, and writer ultimately. However, drawing is a very basic skill, and an important one at that. I decided to take everything in baby steps, and so my ultimate short term goal is to get a tablet and dive into digital art (you can help me save for this endeavor, I am currently open for traditional commissions! :3 Click here for more info). From there, I will primarily be focusing rather hard on building an audience, pumping out art, and selling my art. During this early stage, all profits are going directly towards building my art career and fulfilling my dreams for a future in the art business.
Adoptables were a successful venture for a friend of mine, and are an exciting idea to me - I want to get into them. I am also interested in doing YCHs (your character here) so that I can work on dynamic poses and anatomy of a variety of types of characters within the same pose. I’m working on a few personal designs behind the scenes that aren’t being posted anywhere currently, but will be digitally re-done when I get the aforementioned tablet. After I start posting them, my goal is to post at least one adoptable or YCH for sale every fortnight at minimum.
To build an audience, I will be practicing digital art a lot and will post speedpaints to YouTube (a channel I will create and announce once I have a tablet). YouTube will progressively become a more and more major platform for me, and eventually when I have a camera and a fursuit I intend on making an effort to become a goth/furry influencer. The first step will be speedpaints, but without the suit I’m not going to be uploading anything that includes my face out of personal preference. I’m not sure exactly how long after my YouTube channel launches that I’ll be able to, but around this time is when I would ideally like to (a) start to get more into sculpting and doll/toy customization, and (b) upgrade my computer; I’d say google chromebooks were the Devil if He and I weren’t homies.
On that note, once I’ve gotten a better grasp on digital art and have sold enough art of all sorts to afford the materials, I will start my next big project: creating a fursuit of Ashcraft Starborne (my fursona). Ideally I’d actually like to establish myself as a fursuit maker, and I’d have started there if I only had the space. Utilizing the support I gain from supporters on my Patreon and ko-fi as well as profits from my traditional and digital art sales, my next major objective will be obtaining studio space. I cannot say with 100% certainty what further suit-creation will look like until I have this studio space available, but more likely than not I will either only take on one or two fursuit commissions at a time, and/or make and sell pre-made suits one by one.
Initially I’ll be hand-sewing everything for my own suit to get familiar with the materials, establish methods of accomplishing the intended outcome, and what have you. So I’m not sure when exactly I plan to purchase a sewing machine or how many suits following my own will be hand-sewn as well. If I haven’t done so by the time I have a studio then I absolutely will, and if I have purchased on, I will look into upgrading if it isn’t heavy duty enough to handle faux fur, leather, PVC, and whatever other thick materials I will be using for suits and the like. With the studio space I need to work on such large projects, I will be able to dive into fursuit making full force.
If I haven’t already reached this goal by then, my ultimate goal is to build my art business to the point where I can quit my day job and be 100% dedicated to my art. Once I’ve accomplished this I will reevaluate my goals and establish new ones to accomplish c:
These are all the things you can expect from me in the next five years (or sooner if we can swing it :D)! Be sure to check back for part 3 where I fill in the gaps between and explain how I hope to get from point A (the short term goals in part 1) to point B (this post, part 2) in more depth. In that post I will go over effectively how I hope to build my following and develop my skills enough to establish a business. It’ll include a couple different points such as (a) my follower goals and how I will show my appreciation to my supporters as I reach certain milestones, and (b) more art projects and challenges you can look forward to seeing through to completion!
Thank you kindly for your time; it’s supporters like you who inspire me to keep working hard at accomplishing my dreams of becoming a full time artist. Now once again...
Stay safe and stay sane everyone! This too shall pass, Star Creatures ★

BamBam is a cute shit: The Angst (Title name suggested by MadMad) Written on computer, started at 8:56 finished: (I feel like I’m doing a speedpaint)
Summary: BamBam has a massive Jackson kink, it’s pretty serious, BUT, Jackson loves Mark and those two are in a relationship. BamBam confesses to Jackson about his undying love for him however is kicked into the friend zone. BamBam gets upset over his rejection and cries as an excuse to get closer to Jackson, Jackson comforts BamBam to where BamBam kisses Jackson. Mark then walks in on BamBam kissing Jackson and gets mad, breaking up with Jackson and slapping BamBam. Jackson gets angry and tries to fight BamBam but mama Jinyoung has to separate them. Small summary but I’ll get on with it.
—-
BamBam’s nerves kicked in as he stood outside Jackson’s dorm room, it was quiet inside the closed space, who wouldn’t be nervous?? What if he was wanking in there for fuck sake!! A slow hand belonging to the now 20 year old Thai man gripped onto the cold golden dyed metal of the doorknob. He was about to push onto the knob when force was put onto the door from the other side. Jackson peeked out and caught the falling boy just in time for him to not get hurt.
“Jesus Christ BamBam, you scared the shit out of me. Why are you outside my door anyway?? Got something ya need to spill??” Jackson pushed BamBam up until he was standing on his own two fluffy duck slipper feet that squeaked with every step.
“Erm, yeah. Actually, can we go in your room?? I think this conversation needs to take place in private.” BamBam’s response was muttered but Jackson understood when he was pulled into his dorm room with the door closed after him.
“So, whats up??” Jackson seemed out of it, as if he had something troubling in his mind. BamBam picked up on this issue replying with,
“We can talk about me later, what’s troubling you, you look distracted.” BamBam’s Jackson focused mode kicked in, Jackson was his main priority.
“It’s nothing, I’m fine. What did you want to talk about??” It annoyed BamBam how Jackson neglected his support but he brushed it off as truly nothing. It was far from it, Mark had proposed to Jackson, it was a massive step for both of them, it would result in a lot of controversy, no one even knew about the two simply dating. Marriage would create a storm in the KPop community.
“I love you.”
“I don’t love you.”
Shock. Pure and utter shock. BamBam’s heart seemed to hurt, it pounded faster than ever, an aura surrounded the two, an aura of heartbreak, guilt, regret and pain. BamBam didn’t want to take no for an answer, he didn’t like rejection. To be perfectly honest, I don’t think anyone does really.
“I love Mark, I’m sorry BamBam…” Jackson felt as if a tsunami had pounded against him, the water being guilt. The pain on BamBam’s face was visible, his eyes filled with tears, his walls breaking down, water flooding from his black orbs.
“BamBam. Please don’t cry. I didn’t want you to find out about Mark and I this way. We were going to tell everyone soon, I promise.” Jackson avoided eye contact, the air was awkward, full of tension. Thoughts rushed through BamBam’s head. The rumours were true, how have they kept something so big a secret for so long?? No one would know. A squeak. That squeak was from BamBam’s duck slippers as he took a large step toward Jackson.
“You don’t understand.”
Jackson grabbed BamBam’s shoulders, his hands seemed massive, intimidating almost. BamBam pulled a stunt that put him in further shit that he was already in. His lips connected to Jacksons, soft, although it wasn’t wanted, it felt right. Just right (I’m not sorry for that <<). The door creaked open and Mark appeared.
“What the fuck Jackson!!” Mark shouted loud enough for the remaining members to hear and come running to Mark’s aid.
BamBam paused and reluctantly pulled his lips away from Jackson’s before anyone else arrived. Mark walked towards the two.
“I thought I loved you,”
“You still can.”
“You have him.”
“I don’t want him, I want you. Please Mark.”
“You may love me, but you want him.”
The tension was thick. BamBam should of felt guilty but he didn’t.
“Will you marry me.”
“Ask that to BamBam. You love him. You want him. I was a fool to think you loved me.” Mark walked up to BamBam, a strong mixture of pain and fury brewing in the depths of his eyes. His hand lifted and he gave BamBam a fierce blow to the cheek. A large red print was plastered upon BamBam’s smooth cheek, a thin hiss of pain slipped through his teeth and passed his tongue which was operating as a barrier attempting to keep noise inside his mouth.
“And I was a fool to think you were my friend, you’re just a backstabber.”
“You were never my friend.”
“You’re such a man whore. Trying to steal everyone’s man.” Mark turned around to leave and started walking towards the exit.
“Please don’t leave.”
“I’m doing you a favour.”
“But I still love you.”
“Just let go. Get used to me being gone.” With that he was gone. Mark was gone forever.
“Why. Did. You. Ruin. Everything?!” Jackson raised his voice, pausing between every word. BamBam was shocked at the sudden burst of anger. Jackson turned to BamBam’s innocent looking face, Jackson now knew, you should never trust his trickery.
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s not good enough. I was going to marry the love of my life and now you come along and ruin it.” Jackson was furious, his mind seemed to stop working. It was black. He escaped consciousness yet he was still standing, he had lost control. Jackson aggressively lunged towards BamBam in a threatening manner, feeling intimidated BamBam fought back, punching Jackson in the chest, right above the placement of the heart in self defence. In a response to the act of violence Jackson pounded BamBam directly in the nose, blood pouring from the area of the blow. Before either of them could do another thing Jinyoung ran in and pulled the two apart.
“We would of been perfect” BamBam hissed as he pinched the bridge of his nose to stop the bleeding.
“So could of me and Mark but you ruined that.”
“I loved you.”
“If only I thought the same.” Jackson struggled out of Jinyoung’s grip and left, never to be seen by those 5 boys or his true love Mark ever again.
