i got this request back in july and i'm finally writing it. again, i am so sorry, but hey, it's getting colder and it started snowing for me yesterday, so.. i guess this is the perfect time to write and read these headcanons? :'D

riddle rosehearts.

♡ at first, he's not a fan of the idea and he doesn't really want to go, but when he sees how excited you are and you start begging him to go ice skating with you.. he reluctantly agrees and he almost regrets it, but he immediately feels better about his decision when you thank him and give him a kiss. o-okay, maybe this date won't be so bad after all. riddle is not nervous about it because of him being bad at skating, he's actually pretty good at it (though he still thinks it's far from perfect), it's just.. something about doing it with you makes his heart beat so fast, he can't focus on his dorm leader duties.

♡ you just keep making riddle blush during the whole date, it even started with you seeing riddle in his winter outfit and saying how cute he looks! so when that happens, riddle knows that this date is going to be.. fun. however, to his own surprise, he actually really likes skating with you like this? he's not used to doing this at all, but he doesn't think that agreeing to go skating was a bad idea anymore. he really wants you to compliment his skills, but he knows that he still has to work on them, so.. but now he has motivation to get better at skating!

♡ but then, while riddle is thinking about it, he realizes that he got a bit careless and forgot how slippery the ice can get. the poor boy is about to fall, but you don't let that happen. you stop there for a second because you can't help but go "hehe, looks like someone is actually a bit clumsy~" and before riddle can say anything, both of you fall down and there's no one to help you this time. you find this situation too funny and end up laughing meanwhile riddle's brain stops working because of you falling on him. "oh, lying on top of you is pretty comfortable actually." riddle can't answer properly because of how flustered he is and you can confidently say that this date was perfect.

azul ashengrotto.

♡ "darling, this idea sounds amazing, but.. are you sure we can't do something else? there are so many things we can try-" "no, azul, i want to go ice skating." azul pretends to be just as excited about it as you are, but he's secretly panicking and he starts screaming the moment you leave mostro lounge. what is he so scared of, you ask? you see, since he's a merperson, he's not exactly good at skating. he's terrible at it, actually. and he doesn't want you to find out. but he also doesn't want you to be sad!! it looks like you really want to do this ice skating thing with him.. w-well, maybe he can just watch you skate and he won't have to do anything..

♡ azul really wants to come up with an excuse to not go, but he just can't do it. he's okay with lying to anyone, but not you. if he has to trip and fall right in front of you.. then so be it. he tries to stay calm at first and he pretends that everything is fine, but you can notice him getting nervous. when you start skating together, he holds your hand SO TIGHT, he knows that it must be painful, but he's too scared to let go. and then, eventually, he does fall. and when it happens, he just lies there for a moment and he doesn't want to get up because he's too embarrassed and he's afraid he's just gonna fall again. and he's afraid that you're gonna be disappointed in him.

♡ however, you smile at him and help him get up. azul apologizes and tries to explain why he's not so good at skating, but you stop him and tell him that you actually knew all along that he never tried skating before because he's a merperson. azul is confused. why did you want to go ice skating with him then?? did you- did you just want to make fun of him?? you shake your head and say that even though it's adorable to watch azul try so hard to impress you, you actually wanted to teach him how to skate and you thought that it would be fun to try it together. and even though azul was very worried about you finding out that he can't skate.. he has to admit that he did have fun. maybe he doesn't mind being bad at something as long as you are with him.

vil schoenheit.

♡ vil didn't expect you to come up with a date idea like this, but he can't deny that he's interested. you two never went ice skating together, so it will definitely be a fun and unique experience. he agrees to go and you smile and hug him, promising that he won't regret it. when you two meet, vil adjusts your scarf, saying that you have to stay warm and kisses you on the forehead. "so, shall we go?" your face feels so hot, he doesn't have to worry about you getting cold.

♡ you wouldn't say that you're terrible at skating, you can fall pretty easily, but most of the time you're doing fine. but when you're with vil.. yeah, this man is much better at skating than you. he looks so elegant, it's almost like he was born to do it. seriously, is there anything that he can't do? you end up getting distracted while watching him skate and when you notice that something is wrong, you're already falling. thankfully, vil catches you just in time. "you really should be more careful, my dear. i know you tend to forget about everything when you look at me and i can't blame you for that, but i can't let you get hurt."

♡ your date somehow turns into vil helping you to learn how to skate better and you're not complaining. you feel safe when you're around him and you're not afraid of falling or hurting yourself because he's with you. vil also says that you still need to work on your skills, but he finds your clumsiness very cute, so he goes easy on you. he never forgets to praise you when he sees you getting better and when it's time for you two to go back to your dorms, he tells you that you were right, he really doesn't regret going skating with you at all.

malleus draconia.

♡ malleus never tried ice skating before, but he's very excited to try it, especially if it's with you. he tries to find as much information about skating as he can and he even thinks of trying to learn how to do it, so that he can impress you.. but that's not fun at all if you're not with him. he wants this date to be special and he's afraid that it's not gonna feel that interesting if he's already good at skating! it's more fun to learn it with you than getting better at it just so that you can compliment him. though the second option sounds good too.. no, he must be patient.

♡ when your date starts, he keeps talking about everything he heard about skating and he says that he knows how skating works in theory, but he didn't practice at all, so he asks you to not laugh at him if he does something wrong. you promise that you won't, but when you imagine malleus falling, you try really hard not to laugh. but it's even more hilarious when you see malleus falling for real. there's just something about it, yes, he's a prince and one of the strongest magic users, but also this guy just fell on his face right in front of you. of course, you rush to check on him, but he's fine and you don't have to worry. he's even more motivated to get better at skating now.

♡ skating with malleus is very fun and you get to see the other side of him, a less "perfect" one. you can see that he's really trying his best and he keeps asking things like "how did i do?" and "am i getting better, y/n?". and when your date ends, you tell him that he can be proud of himself, he's already much better at skating than he was before you tried it together. he is SO HAPPY when he hears that from you and he can't stop smiling even when he comes back to his dorm. lilia doesn't even have to ask him anything, he already knows that your date went well.

Lowkey [highkey] gave up on the clothing wrinkles on the arms, but I still like how it turned out I think. I don't have much on him in terms of rewrite, but I do have some, so I'll dump it all here under the cut.

Headcanonssss-

Ash gave him that button off her jacket [probably needs to be resized I'm realizing lol] [also I totally adopted this headcanon from someone elses post- might've been yours. Whoever came up with it I love it <3]

Born during the reformation that happened after the war- basically, nobody was really fighting anymore during this time, but some big people in power were still being stupid [aka: not letting their prisoners go]

So that would be somewhere around 1947? Which would put his age at 61 in my universe [which is in 2008- the times are pretty much random, nothing really lines up irl. Ignore how they use tech and other things that shouldn't have been invented yet lol]

He grew up when the Skunk Dolls were new and popular and stuff. And he loved them- so much that the band actually kinda inspired his music career

[Skunk Dolls also made loads of protest songs btw. War stuff]

Takes a ridiculous amount of care with his mane, and if he lets you touch it, that's a true sign of trust

So the Piglets always like to play with it, and Ash has given him braids a few times

He's had that scruffy red jacket since his early days

Ash probably'll give him a quill or two to put in it too with all the patches and repair stitches

Buster is terrified of him, but Clay is just kinda a blunt person and it doesn't mix well with Buster sometimes. They get along eventually tho. There was also some really bad timing with the circumstances of how they even met in the first place too lol-

Johnny is also. Super terrified.

Buster and him are like "Ahhh.... that guy scares the living daylights out of me." "Ohh, thank god it's not just me-"

He has a strange out-of-pocket interest in astrology.

And in herbology and plants in general, but he picked that up from Ruby. Astrology was all his, and it is the one thing he will "nerd out" over

Also the kind of guy to make fun of you for nerding out too

Making fun of people is his love language

So is giving people food

He's not great with his words and can find it hard to express love by just telling someone. Back to the bluntness thing, you can often find him accidentally offending someone and he doesn't even realize it

The troupe very quickly learned this and it's more of an endearing trait of his to them [and to most people who know him]

REALLY good cook. Fantastic, in fact. Probably one of the best chefs out of any of the characters.

Learned the hard way that enlisting Buster's help in the kitchen is a bad idea. Also Ash isn't great either, but he actually tries to teach her some of his recipes. And she's quickly improving

Buster was just being an idiot and forgot you shouldn't microwave tinfoil

Clay travels a lot, but spends most of his time in Calatonia [he technically still lives at his and Ruby's house, but he's super scared of accidentally closing himself off again, so he only visits to check up on the flowers and maintain the property pretty much]

He's like Ash's second [and very cool] dad. Which- also intimidates Buster quite a bit :D

I feel like their dynamic could be a sitcom. Clay is Ash's awesome dad and Buster is Ash's lame [endearing] and oddly unhinged and anxious dad who feels like he has to be as cool as Clay [and always fails heehee]

Clay is more entertained by Buster's ridiculous criminal record than horrified and I don't know if that's worrying or just a classic Calloway W

He's a very nonchalant person

Ruby's death is the only time I can really think he had a legitimate emotional break that wasn't just him being snappy [which is also pretty rare]

Clay's also like an uncle to the Piglets

He's kinda just taken up the role of "super awesome miscellaneous family member" for everyone at this point

He's back performing again after Sing 2- just not frequently or putting out any new songs [on his own at least- he might do a collaboration or two with Ash]

The lime haired man gripped your collar even tighter by replying him with the same neutral expression and the same reply you give out to all the rude costumers you've encounter

"a bartender of this bar you are stepping in."

the smell of a spilled drink was really unpleasant on your nose, the glass and bottles that are once organized are now tumbled and some are rolling on the floor

well at least you're glad none of the bottles or glasses were shattered or else Crowley will have your eyes pecked out

not that you are a clean freak no, but the mess he made in your just cleaned but not anymore counter is a quite of an eyesore.

there were no costumers at this time since you are 10 minutes about to close when this guy comes barging in and started to ask about a Malleus guy and of course you answered with same "i am not allowed to answer that." reply even though you do not know who he speaks off and it didn't turned out well

the tense silence kept going on for seconds until you decided to break it by struggling out fearing that the collar of your shirt might actually rip of how tight his grip is

"let go of me." you threatened the guy with a cold look on your eyes yet he seems unfazed and scoffed at you

"Hah! you don't scare me human, lowly humans like you are nothing less than faes like us in fact you should be scared of me for i am a servant of the great master, Malleus himself!!"

he proudly phrased as he pats his upwarded chest

you fixed your disheveled collar and straightened the rest of your shirt (you are probably going to need to iron this later or after you washed it since some stains are imprinted on it)

you are so confused of this Malleus he speaks off, is he a gang lord? drug lord? perhaps a mafia personell? well it seems that you haven't heard of him before, that means he's probably in either a very private high standing person or just not a famous one. but the word does sound familiar...

lost in thought you snapped back in reality as the lime haired guy raised his voice once again but even louder than before you could've sworn your ears were ringing

"HUMAN!! ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING!?"

"God why do you have to be so loud" you muttered not minding your tone of voice but of course it would only drown out in the other person's louder words which is just a ranting about Malleus.

everything on his sentence you hear right now is about Malleus. curious, you decided to pay attention on his ranting to find out more about this Malleus guy.

the Malleus person seems interesting enough for you to ignore the untidiness of your place (well its just a little clutter you can fix that later) and just place both of your elbows on the counter just to listen about him, you learned basic information about him by this other guy's loud sound off.

he continued a little more then abruptly stopped finally noticing your silence and curious demeanour towards him

have you been listening all along?

not even irritated or bored?

Well he's not surprised or anything after all you should be thanking him for telling you how great his master is

'you really are listening and being attentive huh...'

he feels your eyes still focused on him making him cough a bit and sweat a little with a flustered expression, oh boy he probably realized he talked alot and now he's being embarrassed of his own actions but not for his admiration for Malleus.

you smug-grinned at him for being embarrassed as you put your elbows down

he then fixed himself up and stood properly

"how foolish of me I forgot how to introduce myself properly, I am Sebek Zigvolt, Troop 189 of Diasomnia Clan!! it is my pleasure serving the great Malleus-sama!!"

well he seems interesting enough to get his name you guess

he stood expectantly as you turned your back and picked up the tablecloth to wipe the counter he messed with the liquid he spilled

"are you not going to tell me your name?"

you stopped for a moment

"do i have to?"

you continued wiping off the counter as he was fuming

oh no he's going to burst

and he's definitely going to be loud

you need to answer fast

"its-- it's Yuu, my name is Yuu, a Y with two U's"

before he could say anything you interrupted him by your quick glance and follow up reply

for Pete's sake that was a edge of a cliff answer but at least you answered as a consequence if you didn't you swear you would have bleeding ears because of how loud he is going to be.

he cleared his throat as his eyes watches your figure move around to continue wiping the counter that doesn't look like it still has a heap of anything dirty and yet you are not even stopping or looking at him and more focused at the cleaning as if it's the most interesting thing ever

"It is my pleasure to know your name Yuu, at least also my disbelief to know who keeps bothering my great mas-"

"do you need anything more sir?"

he gave you a glare noticing your bit irritated tone of voice that's asking for him to leave. well he's starting to get on your nerves now that you're realizing what he did earlier (he did try to threaten you by picking you up by the collar while you are inside of your counter)

baffled, he just stood there with a amused look while you picked up and settle the fallen glasses and bottles to rearrange them properly

"hmph, just so you know i will be back to check if you are planning to do something bad to Malleus and i will intend to do everything to stop it--"

"yeah sure buddy"

you interrupted still doing your chore as he fumingly stepped outside, grumbling to himself

remembering of his promise, you guess you just got to just watch out or get used on him and his...loud tune

he's back again

like usual

well aside from his loud way of speaking he actually gets along with your some of your other customers (which is Ace, Deuce, Epel and Jack) and not only he is polite he is a bit helpful with information of who are your customers are so you can watch out for who's who

in exchange for information you need, he can ask you anything that you can at least answer. its like a quick game where you exchange questions and you answer what of what you know

if you are bored you would let him talk and pay attention, probably not getting to ignore him (not that you can because of how loud his voice is)

but his questions decided to be about your personal life time by time to one might say at least if they are not going to be berated by him by saying so

"Human!! do you always walk alone at night!? you do know it's very dangerous!"

"you look weak and frail, human... is there even someone who's going to protect you!?"

"Human! tell me where you live, i might need your address so i could come if something ever happens to you!!"

of course your information is just private as the Malleus he "speaks" of and he would never learn a single thing about you except the name you had on this bar which is "Yuu" or as he calls you "Human"

but sometimes you just want to ball out and tell him everything so he would shut up or just at least tone his voice down

he can be very aggressive whenever you turn the questions on him or give him a not-so-informative simple replies

overtime, like every other specific costumers you can also feel his eyes watching your very move intently and it does not look friendly (not that you ever get one)

but you can say one thing of what you guess is a kind of a look he is giving you

that is the look of every special costumer that comes in your bar very often

it's not a "you're a threat to someone important to me" glare.

it's a look of a man.

you are used to it since a plenty of your "special" patrons used to gawk at you that way yet, every time you had that goggling glance it's still a very uncomfortable thing they always do and it feels weird

a good thing he never tried to flirt with you in a (loud) verbal communication only you two sometimes have not like other costumers who would try to woo you in their sweet nothings

you got to this conclusion just of him being attracted to you because of him arriving in a late hour where almost some of the costumers are gone out and only a few were left

and you sure do hope that gaze and interest of his fades out as time goes by since you cannot handle more strange looks from your patrons

Heartstopper season 2 play-by-play analysis

Question: what is the absolute worst? Is it:

a) dating,

b) coming out,

c) parties, or

d) all of the above…

The answer (for me) is d. And this episode has all of the above, and it was like watching a nightmare… (I went on a few dates, all of them painful, but I don’t know if that’s just the nature of dating or if it’s because I’m acespec; also parties to me make absolutely no sense; also I tried coming out multiple times and it’s been the worst anxiety I’ve experienced, each time).

But let’s see how these things go for our lovely group.

EPISODE 3 - PROMISE

- I love that they did the “I know you and Charlie are really good mates” and Otis and Sai giving him the looks, and a kissing montage playing in Nick’s head with the huge letters GOOD MATES across it. Perfection.

- Coach Singh’s whole body language after walking in on Nick and Charlie kissing. And her being protective of Nick after realizing that he’s queer. “You don’t owe them that information”. It’s so reassuring for Nick to have another queer person, a queer adult, know, and for her to tell her that he doesn’t have to live with that pressure, that it’s difficult and it won’t always go well, but it’s not an obligation.

- Nick and Charlie being cozy in the library. Two of my favorite things. More of that please.

- I can’t tell you the giddiness I felt when I saw the Pride display and saw that there was an ACE book top and center. Also I’m so happy that we got so much James, and how fucking giddy he is about hanging out with Isaac. Two little bookworms matching each other’s energies.

- I love how Tao became the worst date by trying to be the best date, following the worst online advice, changing his appearance, and being so tense about everything being perfect, that he forgot about just being himself, which is precisely what Elle likes about him.

- All Charlie and Nick needed to get through their exams and coursework was to think about Paris, and being together in Paris.

- Every time Harry appears, he usually puts an arm around someone, like grabbing them, which, as Tao rightfully pointed out last season, is a hyper-masculine way of saying “I didn’t get hugged much as a child”. So imposing and annoying. Go to therapy, Harry. Stop invading people’s spaces, Harry. (I know the other boys do it too, like Otis did to Charlie in the first episode, and to Nick in this one, but the attitude behind it is completely different. But still, boys, stop just grabbing people like that, it’s so annoying.)

- “But I love you because of how annoying you are” is one of the sweetest things you will ever hear, and I felt so bad for Tara because of how Darcy reacted, literally running away from her feelings. Poor Darcy too. I think I can relate to the automatic reaction of running away from my feelings, running away from anything that was me having to be vulnerable. It gets better, and I love that in the end it’s just practice. The more you talk about your feelings, the better you become at it.

- New favorite ship unlocked: the teachers! “Are you also regretting signing up for this?” Don’t worry, you won’t regret it at all by the end of it…

- James being all giddy asking Isaac to the party, I’m sorry but he’s adorable, and therefore I’m kinda sad about how things turn out, but I hope we get more James in the future.

- The comedic performance of Mr. Ajayi failing to get everyone’s attention in a gentle manner and Mr. Farouk having to go “QUIET!” Which in itself is so funny. (Fun fact: a teacher in Northern Ireland actually won the Guinness Book of World Records for the loudest shout, and it was her shouting “quiet” at 121 decibels, about the same as a jet engine. Mr Farouk might not be as loud, but the way he does it definitely works.)

- Darcy’s “oh dear, oh nooo” and Charlie and Nick exchanging excited looks when they’re told that boys and girls can’t share rooms is so cute. “I know, heartbreaking, isn’t it?” Mr Farouk says with a raised eyebrow.

- Poor Imogen… she needs more girlfriends.

- Tao’s new aesthetic, as much as they made him try to look out of character, just… works… love the whole outfit, the whole vibe. He looks like he’d be in a Wes Anderson film, so it’s very appropriate that they’re going to one.

- And Darcy going “oh duuuuh”, just the worst‼ And Charlie shouting “your hair’s amazing!”

- I love the stark contrast between Tara’s outfit and Tori’s outfit, and I love them both.

- “Look after him or you die”. Aw Tori, being a good older sister. I want more Nick and Tori interactions.

- The comically large popcorns. “I hope you didn’t cut it for me”. Tao’s little laugh but then his look of terrible realization. Then his terrible attempts at being flirty. And then his whole rant about “they’re kids, so it’s obviously not going to last long term”, big foreshadowing.

- Sahar’s makeup and jacket, so cute. Metallic blue eyeshadow. The makeup game in this season is top notch.

- What is up with those boys pulling Charlie away? Seriously, what is this masculine impulse of throwing your arm around someone's shoulder, even when you don't know them???

- And what is up with Sai’s reaction to Nick saying “I need to talk to you guys”? This is a lot like the party in the first season, when Nick realizes that he’s not really the partying type, and he just wants to hang out with Charlie and talk. Here he just wants to talk to his friends and tell them something, but it is like the worst moment to do it, and he’s already feeling ill about the idea of doing it, and he’s really not the big loud party type of guy.

- Tao being so pent up about this one date going wrong. They’re both kids, like the protagonists in Moonrise Kingdom, and they really thought that it would work out from the beginning, and they’re upset that it didn’t, and that it must mean that it will never work.

- “I’m fundamentally unlikeable”. “I liked the old Tao”.

- Tori is so mean in that instant, but we get that it hinges on her fear of Charlie being hurt again, being bullied again.

- After a second viewing, the only overblown comment going around Nick’s head is Tori going “you’re bisexual, so you’re going to cheat on my brother?” (I know that the media tends to have a terrible habit of portraying bisexual characters as promiscuous, which is why Nick is such a lovely change, so I would get why this is insinuated here. But… not from Tori, and so far in the show, at least from my perspective, there hasn’t been anyone insinuating that Nick’s bisexuality makes him unreliable or promiscuous, but especially not Tori. Unless this has to do with a deleted scene... In any case, I expected him to think of her as accusing him of letting Charlie get hurt or something). But all the other things he hears in his head are spot on.

- Charlie coming in hot and shoving Harry away, because he probably still feels bad about not helping Nick when he was confronted with his brother.

- That one-on-one scene between Joe and Olivia is peak perfect Charlie-Sara interaction. More please.

- Also, is it me, or does Sara wear a lot of yellow? She's sunshine personified. (it's curious that, one of the few times we don't see Sara in yellow, is in season 1 when she's wearing blue when Nick is telling her about the date with Imogen, and she says "don't worry, the right girl will come along", and it might just confirm my theory that light blue represents heteronormativity, but coming from a person who turns out to be supportive).

- Nick and Charlie being all cozy, and Nick tiredly saying that he enjoyed Charlie telling Harry to piss off. And Charlie’s whole talk about that weird obligation we feel to come out to friends and family the moment you realize you’re not straight. I think it’s so lovely that the comic and the show emphasize this so much, because so often in media it’s become a whole thing about how you’re supposed to come out, and for it to be this big announcement, as if otherwise you're lying to everyone if you don't, and as if everything is going to be alright from now on as soon as you come out, and as if not coming out means that you’re afraid and a coward. And I love how much this season works through that, with Coach Singh and Charlie and Sara telling Nick that he doesn’t owe it to anyone. This whole season was perfect because of that.

Scott groaned out loud at the realization that Joey was still trying to get revenge or so he has been told by the witch sitting beside him. GENERAL 13. Which one thinks they aren't good enough for the other, if at all? Darrash thinks he is absolute DOGSHIT. He doesn't think he deserves Vector's patience, love, or general care whatsoever. For a long time after Eradication Day he wasn't sure why Vector was even still on his team, considering he betrayed Intelligence to Jadus "shamelessly" and let him carpetbomb the Empire at will.

It takes a while for Darrash to understand that Vector does love him, in spite of his.. apparently really rough week that led to him not only killing his own father in front of his brother but then taking like, a fraction of the Empire out alongside him.

15. What is their most common argument about? Typically Darrash refusing to take care of himself in any sort of sane manner. He makes an argument out of it because most of the time, he genuinely refuses to realize he requires rest at regular intervals; ESPECIALLY after the blip with Jadus.

Dude will go around awake for over 50 standard hours running on nothing but spit and spite, and wonders why when he sits down for two minutes consecutively he just immediately crashes. Vector usually gets help from Lokin in backing Darrash into self-care but even then, Darr barks back about it.

LOVE 1. Who said "I love you" first, and what was the situation? Lucky for you, I completely forgot about these asks and somehow got to this answer in your DMs! And to anyone else looking for Darrash lore. Um. Big sorry about this one. It'll make some sense within the next decade.

It was Darrash, right after he woke up from The Jadus Death. Still jammed tight to Vector's chest, not fully conscious yet but able to listen and sorta understand that Vector was saying he wasn't sure what he'd do without Darrash with him. And Darrash, in typical ressurected fashion, simply responded with "oh.. 'love you too" before falling asleep.

6. What are their favorite things to do together? Stargazing, naptime, snuggling for any other fathomable reason, going over any artifact they run across together. They like to wander cities and go looking for anything and nothing, when they get the chance; trying foods, listening to languages, watching the crowds of people pass by. Learning new things together. At one point they start trying to dance together, but Darrash gets so giggly about it it's impossible to focus.

And a bonus because you made the popular pitfall of suggesting it, DOMESTIC LIFE 8. Who kills the bugs in the house? The bugs, fortunately, have their own designated wing in their Alderaani estate. And actually all of the outside area. Why they want to come in the house is between them and their Dawn Herald; Darrash doesn't ask questions, nor does he mind.

Ironically this does extend to all little bugs. Darrash is the type to scoop them up into a little container to show Vector, then go outside to release them.

Sorry i'm answering this late, I hope you'll still see it. I read it and thought it would be fun to answer but I had a busy day and told myself I'd get to it later and then I forgot about it until a new ask came in and I saw this was still sitting there. 😬

Anyway!

It's so awesome that you and your partner have seen growth and that talking about where you've come from and where you'd like to get later made you emotional in a good way. I love hearing positive d/s stories! I know it's not for everyone for lots of reasons but I'd love to suggest to you (and really everyone with D/s experience 😁) to consider making a tumblr! we could use more voices in the community. :)

To the question part...CD and I do talk about how our D/s has grown sometimes. The biggest area of growth for us has been communication...and that's been true for us for years, but it's because it keeps getting even deeper.

Neither of us had examples of healthy communication growing up but I sort of see our communication growth in several stages...

When we first started D/s, just talking about what we wanted was a big improvement in our communication. We had always talked openly and honestly about everything from our childhoods to our morality and hobbies and whatever...but we had largely avoided talking about our relationship.

Next, we started having meta-talks where we'd share what wasn't working, what changes we wanted to make. This is a lot harder than sharing what we want, so it took longer. It was sporadic early on, but over time, we saw that we could have these conversations and it would stay emotionally safe, so it made it easier to have them more often. This is one that has felt like there have been several steps of improvement over a long period of time.

I might be placing this in an incorrect order chronologically, my memory stinks. But at some point we realized that a big key to making our D/s consistent was through discussing needs day to day. In other words, asking permission on days that I needed to be excused from a rule rather than relying on assumptions.

Also at some point (again probably out of order time wise lol), we got more confident in our roles and in seeing ourselves as D/s. That confidence made it easier to communicate my wants, rather than just my needs. I was too worried about overstepping or 'topping from the bottom' or accidentally taking control early on. I kinda thought that only requesting things from CD if it was really important was a way to ensure that I didn't accidentally top from the bottom. In hindsight, I see that as me actually holding on to control, despite thinking I was avoiding taking control. When I share my wants with him and let him decide, that's showing trust in him and in our dynamic. Holding things in isn't letting him decide.

In the last year or so, we've got to a place where we can talk about anything and everything in the moment. We've been able to talk about hard feelings for years but we both were in the habit of waiting days before discussing the issue, or sometimes we'd wait too long, thinking we could just avid discussing it but then it would keep happening so it would have to come up eventually. We thought we had to delay these conversations to let our emotions settle and to keep the conversations feeling really calm and safe. This last year, we've realized that really isn't necessary, we can talk about things in the moment it reduces our anxiety and it's easier to really remember all the details of what happened and why so it's easier to problem solve.

I feel like I have to be leaving things out but yeah, lots of layers of communication improvement over the years would be my answer. :)

thank you so much for the question!!! and omg im absolutely delighted that people point out Keiki and Chami looking like they could be besties/gfs - because they are! im going to go into details under the cut :D

Keiki and Chami are what i like to call one-sided rivals to best friends- since they share a "similar" ultimate, from the start Chami feels a little bit thrown into a competition. See, the thing with Chami is that she tries REALLY hard to cater to other people and her perfectionism makes her push herself a little too hard to the point its overwhelming to others and in turn makes her insecure. this is the total opposite of Keiki who is an effortless people magnet- even the grumpiest in the group like her. this makes Chami really jealous so in her head Keiki becomes her rival and she avoids her altogether. Keiki doesn't hold any negative feelings for Chami although she can tell Chami dislikes her- so accordingly, she is not a fan either.

this changes after the second trial though- when Keiki successfully protects Chami from unjust accusations. Chami is like "WAIT so you actually don't hate me and don't want to steal all my friends from me???" and Keiki is like "girl NO? where did that come from, i was hoping for us to be friends!" and Chami is like "oh. oh 🥺" and they have a very heart-warming "conflict" resolving moment that is interrupted by Jun going "umm ladies i think we're in the middle of murder investigation?" to which they go "RIGHT. im so sorry"

they become best friends after that! inseparable too. turns out they work amazingly well together and like u guessed, they throw the best tea parties ever!

they're hinted to have feelings for each other too- after Paris (who went to american school before) suggest they organise a prom night, Keiki and Chami work hard for it to be perfect. and when the prom night comes they also realize they were so busy they forgot to get a partner!! which, you know, isnt that tragic because turns out they both planned to ask each other <3

me when i go on 34324 pages essay on Keiki and Chami ANYWAYS. one last fun fact i wanted Keiki's hair to resemble cinnamon rolls and for Chami's hair to resemble croissants with the ribbons being like "chocolate toppings"! not sure if it shows through so i thought ill throw it out there :3

from other's distinctive relationships we have Paris and Yami- theyre complex as they are kind of working against each other all the time, but Paris wants to prove herself innocent to Yami and by proximity pretends to want to befriend her. Yami is very weak for kindness shown her way but shes also very smart so this is very hard for her- she's basically having to battle between rationality and feelings. if the game was from her perspective it would be "danganronpa: yami's struggle between wanting justice and crushing easily". Although Paris quite literally gaslights her all the way, she does eventually put so much work into befriending her that the feelings overtime just become a little bit real

i think im gonna wrap it up so no one falls asleep on my post (although if you're curious about anyone else im super happy to answer! :D) BUT i also wanted to mention Kei here since i noticed a lot of people like him- Kei is bros with Kenichi, friends with Akane and also the only person Yami has to a real friend too, he's super sweet to her! Kei is "autistic - loves to talk" and Yami is "autistic - loves to listen" so theyre very wholesome together :'3

thank you for asking! it's a really interesting question, that's why i took such a long time to answer

the showstopper numbers are usually when the character arcs culminate, when we see their coolest moments, so the question is... what are the highlights of the main cast's journey?

spoilers ahead! although tbh i feel like there are like three people actually reading the comic so it doesn't matter

i'll try to keep it vague, so that those of you who read btb don't lose interest in it haha

🖤 let's start with sasha! her epic song will be called The Queen of Spades

alright, some context for her future arc: she will discover a gift of clairvoyance and will use playing cards to predict the future, even though it will take her a long time to actually believe in what she's doing. and the card she will associate herself with is a queen of spades, and that will also be a reference to her childhood and her culture, where a queen of spades is considered to be an evil spirit and kids "summon" it as a game (kinda like bloody mary)

🩵 jackie's arc will be facing the consequences of her actions and realizing she's been marinating in her own toxicity lately. she'll have to rethink what it means to be a good friend, do some cool fighting... all while understanding she's the only person it the group who is not connected to the bigger picture. the odd one out. ryan is the ring bearer, sasha is connected to people from aitner's past, aitner is a literal ring demon. jackie only has herself, and she starts to realize she doesn't even really LIKE herself...

so i guess her number will be titled just that - Myself

🧡 ryan's big musical number... well, obviously, it will be called The Final Wish, because he only has one left and he has to make it count. oh, i really don't want to spoil it, because it's a highly emotional moment, but i'll tell you this: in the beginning of the story ryan doesn't ACTIVELY want death, but it's always somewhere in the corner of his mind, he thinks if it happened he would deserve it (it doesn't help that he later meets a person who nurtures this idea). and his arc will be discovering the joy of living - but in the end he will want to sacrifice himself for others

💚 …i almost forgot aitner. sorry dude. and sorry for making your big moment be your WORST moment, as in the moment of your absolute despair. i suppose it would be fitting to give him a song titled Breaking the Boundary to title drop the comic i mean the musical. that title IS about him, after all

Wish I could do that to most of my friends but some have already seen it ages ago and some aren't just interested so I just kinda gave up HFH ALSO HOOOLY and I thought finishing the series in like,, 2 months was mental but you got me there I'm honest /lh I SERIOUSLY DON'T KNOW HOW I DID IT?? I just kinda went with it by using a small brush with no pressure and blurring out everything a little bit so it matched the og pic's quality I suppose?? GDGSFGFSD IT'S FINE THOUGH, I'M OK NOW But this is besides the point; I actually really love Suzuha's character and I prefer her over the other girls.. and my favorite dynamic is hers with Daru and Yuki (ironically).. seeing Daru being a dad melts my heart because sometimes I wish I had a father figure as sweet as he is aaa I prefer to see myself with Daru than project myself onto Yuki though, because I'd treat him differently than he does sometimes if I gotta be honest Still, hope you like the silly ideas- WAIT,, UH?? DARU HAS A PENGUIN SUIT?? I NEED TO SEE IT SO BADD 😭😭 Also fr, why can't they just satisfy the boy's fans for once,, I feel like they're leaving us out on purpose at this point- /j

Btw, for the selfship community part, I didn't really do much! I just started to post my artwork in the tag and started following and interacting with some peeps, although rarely because I'm still akward about it, but the people in it are so nice!! In my opinion, it's worth a shot!

As for Nightvale, it's one of those things that borders horror and comedy really well in my opinion? We were talking about TMA so I'll compare to that, but I think, objectively some of the things in both shows are equally scary but the way that Nightvale portrays it as normal or like it's no big deal makes it not feel spooky haha. Definitely not as gore-y as TMA though

I got really into nightvale back in like 2013 when it started and honestly what drew me in immediately was that first episode they're like: bam here's this weird town and also your protagonist is gay and we're not going to be quiet about it

My favorite characters are Cecil and Carlos (and they are THE otp of all time) and Dana and Maureen!

Cecil is just honestly a very interesting narrator and I love his little asides from his serious news voice to suddenly talking about cats or Carlos or his niece, and I love Carlos and how he just gradually adjusts to Nightvale and the weirdness in it and that.

I'll admit it's been a while since I listened to it regularly (mostly because Cecil's voice is calming and it makes me sleepy ahaha) but I've been gradually relistening

As the show goes on they start adding characters who appear not just in mentions but with voice actors as well and I love that and how you see the change in character's relationships overtime.

It's very kind of surreal?? Bizarre??? Weird??? And I love that!!!

It's also nice because the episodes are like 30 minutes long and you don't necessarily have to listen in order between arcs (though some things are mentioned and it helps to have a bit of context) and its just 2 episodes a month so it's not as intimidating as something to catch up on

Maybe that answers your question lol or maybe not, I've been up since 4:30 for work so I'm a bit of a disaster lol

coming out during school

hello again! Sorry, my last update was depressing. i was having a pretty rough day, but i’m doing better today. i guess this is just another example of the ups and downs of mental illness. some days are great and some days aren’t, but as long as my good days stay more frequent than the bad ones i know i’m doing better. 

but don’t worry i’m not here to bore you with another post about my recovery. i want to talk about something different today. recently i have been getting a lot of messages asking about what it’s like to be out in school and my particular experience with coming out. so instead of repeating myself a hundred times, I thought i would just make one big post. also if you were one of the people who asked please don’t get offended that i didn't answer your question, i still love you.<3

so I guess i will start with the very first person i came out to, which was myself. sometimes i think we forget what a big step that is, and we don’t give ourselves the credit we deserve for being brave enough to admit it. in some ways i think coming out to yourself can be one of the hardest steps of your journey. for me, i always knew i was different, but i didn’t know why. i never felt like i had a crush on anyone, because at the time i didn’t know i could have crushes on boys. i remember being in year 4 and my best friend tara asked me who i fancied at the time.  i told her all about the love of my life, the most beautiful woman I had ever seen, the only girl for me. the look on her face was priceless as she told me that i had to choose someone in our year and that gabriella montez did not count. the idea that people our age actually liked their peers was so foreign to me. 

it wasn’t until year 7 that i realized that the reason i didn’t fancy girls was because i fancied boys. it turns out i didn't want to be like the rugby lads in my year, i wanted to be with the rugby lads in my year. please, don’t judge me for that i was going through puberty at the time and i have since grown as a person and realized rugby lads are the bane of my existence. 

once i made this realization i did what any good baby gay does, and i spent hours upon hours watching ‘cute couple’ videos on youtube, hoping that their heterosexuality would seep into my brain. until inevitably, i clicked on one that was not as straight as i thought. I will never forget that video, i think their names were mark and ethan, a cute little american couple, who quite literally changed the trajectory of my life. 

after that there was no denying i was in fact fruity, so instead, i started watching coming out videos, wishing that one day i would be brave enough to tell someone. This was before i realized that wishing is pointless by the way. anygays it turns out i didn’t have to be brave the first time I came out. tori was the first person who found out and it was only because her laptop broke and me being the stupid year 8 i was, forgot to delete my search history. but in typical tori fashion she didn’t have to say anything, she just gave me a hug and asked which hemsworth bother i found the most attractive. 

tara was the next person, and again I didn’t have to do any of the work. it was the summer before year 9 and we were out at the shops getting some ice lollies. She asked if i was excited for the year to start, after i told her i was, she asked if there were any boys i fancied in our year. i still don’t know if i was just awful at hiding it or if she just had some sort of chosen sister magic. she helped me come out to the rest of our friends a couple of weeks into the new school year. none of them cared. turns out almost all of them are part of the lgbtqia+ community anyway. i guess it’s true when they say your people will find you. 

and that right there is where the happy part of the story ends. in year 10 i was outed to my school, by one of the rugby boys. he heard me joke about it with isaac while we were in form and he took the liberty to tweet about it. thing’s got pretty dark after that. I pulled away from my friends and isolated myself from almost everyone. looking back now i know i shouldn’t have done that, but at the time i felt like all the negative attention i was getting was reflecting on them, and like i was making their lives more difficult by being around them. i’ve learned now that regardless of the shit i put them through i will never be a burden to them. 

it took a while, but things eventually got better. once i got to year 11 isaac and i transferred to the all-girls schools for our a levels. being here has been much better, most people are accepting and if they aren’t they just tend to ignore it. not everyone is great of course, but it’s easier to drown them out when there are fewer of them. 

so yeah, that’s my story. sorry, it was so long i guess i got a bit carried away. but i hope it helps. remember that it’s your journey and you are allowed to take it at your own pace, don’t let anyone rush you or force you to do anything that you aren’t comfortable with. also, remember that being out doesn’t determine your worth, you are just as valid in your identity even if you are the only person who knows. and if you do want to come out and you don’t know where to start you can always start with me. my inbox is always open.

Genshin [Volleyball Team AU - Inspired by Haikyuu!] What it’s like to be their manager Headcanons

Note: I think a lot of people misunderstand the role of the manager XD It’s not that the whole team is dating you. It’s that the whole team treats you like their family/sister. So you’d better bet that all of them are gunna be hella protective of you XD

Scenario: What do you do for the team and what do they do for you? :D

Warnings: not proofread, fluffy, might have some swear words, platonic relationships

Characters: Zhongli, Diluc, Kaeya, Albedo, Tartaglia, Kazuha, Xiao, Tohma, reader as the team manager

Genshin Volleyball Team manager

It’s just fuckin’ chaos

On your first day you’re already bombarded with questions by Tartaglia and Kaeya

“So which class are you?” “What’s your height?” “Are you single?”

Captain Zhongli just cannot be bothered to reign them in anymore.

So Vice Captain Diluc does it and grabs their collars. “You idiots, you’re scaring her off!”

Possibly Kazuha and Tohma are the ones you really try to rely on, on your first few weeks.

So how do you gain the trust of your team? Let’s start with each player shall we?

#1 Zhongli (Captain/Wing Spiker/Ace)

Zhongli is just handsome and mature. He’s strict and needs to be the pillar of the team. 

You’re intimidated by him the first few weeks and he just seems...a little far. He’s always so focused that you can’t seem to catch a moment to just chat with him.

There’s a day where you notice that his form is a little off, you suspect that he hurt his wrist a little. 

You fidget uncomfortably in the gym as they practice, but finally turn to the coach “U-Umm... The captain is... I mean! I’m not sure, but... I think he needs to take a rest,”

The coach calls for someone to substitute Zhongli and suddenly asks you to check on him.

“Huh?! Me?!” the coach pushes you towards him, and Zhongli is just looking at you quizzically, you can practically see the question mark on his face.

“C-Captain, d-do you need some bandages on your wrist?”

Zhongli is taken aback, but silently puts his right wrist out for you to wrap.

Only when you’re done tending to it does he look you in the eye and ask.

“How did you know?”

“...Because I always watch, and all I can do is watch. If I can’t even spot that out then I’m not a very good manager am I?”

Zhongli has a newfound respect for you. He thought you were just a meek and shy thing sitting around and passing them balls but he feels his heart swell that someone like you is seriously watching over them.

#2 Diluc (Vice Captain/Wing Spiker/Defense Specialist)

Diluc is probably the second hardest to get along with or break the ice with.

But he gradually warms up to you when he notices that he’s always the first one you pass a towel and water bottle to.

You’re not doing that on purpose, it’s just him who always comes up first.

After a few days he deliberately goes to you faster cause he always wants to be the one to receive a water bottle and towel from you first. Secretly a puppy.

The moment he realized that you were reliable was when you stayed behind to help him practice when everyone else went home already. 

You didn’t let up in your constant praise of “nice receive”, “great spike!” and “that’s so cool!” 

He thinks he saw stars in your eyes at some point.

“Hey, Diluc, it’s getting late, let’s leave some energy for tomorrow, yeah?” he could tell from your mannerisms that you were tired too, but you tried not to let it show on your face and still cleaned up with him.

“I’ll see you tomorrow then!” you wave but you’re stopped by a quick. “No,” from him. You tilt your head in wonder and he just looks at you as if it’s the most normal thing in the world.

“It’s late, I’ll walk you home,”

#3 Kaeya (Middle Blocker)

You don’t have to impress this guy, anyone of the female gender impresses him.

lol jk

safe to say it’s not difficult to befriend Kaeya, just bring him a cheering squad and some food.

all jokes aside the way to this guy’s heart is through his stomach.

He’s not a particularly hungry person but there’s this one time he forgot to bring lunch. He was running late, or something of that sort, honestly not something new for him.

He ALSO didn’t bring money so he couldn’t eat food from the cafeteria.

Ask his friends for money you say? Tartaglia would go, “Haha no way!” Albedo would go, “Let this be a lesson for you,” his brother would go “Serves you right,”

By club time he’s famished and dramatic. “Guys, go on without me, this is as far as I go,” as he sprawls on the gym floor.

You ask if he’s okay and he doesn’t answer so Diluc is the one that answers for him. “He forgot his lunch, as always,”

You make a sound of understanding and the next thing you know you’re taking out a lunch box and Kaeya has lifted his head up, sensing food.

“I packed onigiri for everyone today, actually... In case someone was hungry. It’s not much but--”

Kaeya comes alive from the dead and clutches your hands to his chest. “Manager you really are an angel,”

Diluc jump kicks him away from you.

#4 Albedo (Setter)

You also don’t know how to approach this guy

He always looks mad or stoic or something. Like he’s always thinking about something.

He low key actually is always thinking about play strategies and how to set the ball better for his teammates.

You really do think he works so hard while the game is going on, so you decide to help him out a little bit.

You watch a few more of their games and somehow come up with a list of what kinds of sets are better for each different spiker in the team.

There’s surprise in his eyes when you pass the document to him and modestly exclaim “...but, it might not be accurate, since I’m not that experienced,”

He still nods and says “...It’s the thought that counts,” 

When he does read your report and try the techniques out he notices that it does hold some merit in it

Is amazed like how Zhongli is amazed. He thought you were just there to hand them bottles and cheer for them but he had never been so wrong as to what a manager’s role is.

Will trust you enough to ask you about his set performance.  

Will sometimes slam Kaeya with an insult. “Kaeya, your spike sense is horrid, Y/N can read the moves better than you,”

#5 Tartaglia (Middle Blocker/Wing Spiker)

It’s not that he has a hard time trusting people but let’s just say he has the tendency to make you feel like he likes you but then he actually does that to everyone.

For example: He’ll throw compliments like “Oh that’s amazing Y/N!” but then back in the classroom you’ll hear him say “Oh that’s amazing!” to, like, every other person. 

That kinda disappoints you cause then the comment doesn’t really hold that much meaning to it if he keeps on saying it to others too.

He encounters a crisis mid year because this guy is just... he struggles with his grades. 

Captain Zhongli has told him he can’t play volleyball if he fails even one subject.

This boy is panicking and has semi-accepted this is the end of his volleyball career.

So you offer to study with him and he’s legit stoked.

Intensive and strict study sessions commence. Note taking, pop quizzes, surprise questions and even sudden random calls from you wherein you ask him a question and he has to answer within 5 seconds.

You’ve pulled all the study techniques you know here, this man better pass everything.

Welp, he still fails History....but since he worked so hard Captain Zhongli excuses it.

He’s so happy that he can’t hold back the stupidly wide smile on his face. He turns to you and for the very very first time in months, he bows and THANKS you.

You realize that he’s never thanked you before. Not even when you pass him water bottles or towels. 

You consider it a win, getting rare and sincere appreciation from him.

#6 Kazuha (Decoy/Middle Blocker/Wing Spiker)

One of the easiest to get along with but at the same time, he’s so mature that you feel like you’re not even in the same age range as him.

Definitely someone you can count on though, so you ask him many questions on the first week.

Still, it’s one of those things where you can kind of talk to him but there’s still a wall between you two.

One day while walking around in school there were these boys who were commenting about his height, and questioning his abilities as a volleyball team member.

You didn’t really think much about it when you speak up, “But he’s a really good middle blocker and spiker,” 

Those boys look at you weirdly and you realize that you’ve unconsciously spoken up. So you hurriedly walk away.

Little did you know that Kazuha was in some secret corner and heard the whole thing.

Just like that, the next day, it seems as if the wall between you two was gone, and you’re able to talk freely.

That, and he seemed to like asking you to help him practice his spikes and throw balls for him now.

#7 Xiao (Libero)

is deceivingly easy to get along with. Just has a rough exterior but is actually a softie if you squint.

You know this because there are subtle things he does. 

He doesn’t speak to you much but then he would be the one picking up the balls with you, or sometimes there’s magically a new set of clean towels on the bench that you don’t remember taking out from the storage room.

This guy is passionate for the game, so he really beats himself up when he isn’t able to receive a ball during actual games.

You worry about his mentality sometimes. I mean, it’s a team game, it’s not like he alone can save the whole game

So you talk to him about it the other day

“You’re already a really good libero Xiao, I mean... I’m not saying you should stop practicing but you don’t have to feel so bad...” you pause because this doesn’t feel like the message you want to convey

“Sorry, what I mean is... You CAN feel bad, but share the burden with your team, you know?”

He knows what you’re saying and contemplates it for a while. He knows that his team has his back, but sometimes just needs reminder about it.

He looks at you and asks, “...Can I share the burden with you too?”

You blink “Huh?”

“You said I can share the burden with my team, but can I share it with you too?”

There is a blush on his cheeks at this point.

“Oh, yea! Of course! I don’t play but I’m still part of the team you know!”

Ever since then, during games, if he feels a little frustrated he’d glance at you on the bench and you’d give him a thumbs up for a job well done.

#8 Tohma (Pinch Server/Middle Blocker)

You’re like bffs the moment you see each other

You’re still awkward with him the first few days cause that’s just how first meetings are.

But he is very easy to talk to and always makes you feel at ease

Will always be the one to ask how you are if you need any help or if class was okay in general

Seems like the type of person to care more about others than himself

So he’s surprised when you come into the gym and you beat him to asking his usual questions.

“Tohma, how are you today? Did you have a proper lunch?”

“Tohma, are you getting tired? Want some water?”

“Tohma, how was class today?”

All the other members of the team turn to look at the two of you, thinking ‘Why does Tohma get extra attention?’ 

Tohma certainly doesn’t get extra attention you just TALK to him more. The other members deadass are also getting cared for by you, just in different ways.

This boy has some insecurities though, when it comes to playing the game. He hasn’t been in it for long so he’s the least experienced and that gets to him sometimes.

“Oh, really? But you play really well! I couldn’t tell that you’re new” 

His serves are really amazing though.

“Also! You always score points for us with the serves. Sometimes, your serves are my favourite part of the game!”

Has practiced extra hard so as not to let you down.
