Lee Felix disliked many, many things.

He disliked it when his parents scolded him for getting the umpteenth piercing, he disliked getting up early in the morning to go the stupid classes he had to attend in order to pass the year, and he disliked it when the cute barista - who made it very clear she had a crush on him - put an unnecessary amount of sugar in his coffee and wrote her phone number on his cup every single time, with a stupid “call me? :)” handwritten right next to Felix's name. Seriously, it made him want to just throw away the damn cup.

But what - technically, who - Lee Felix disliked the most was you.

You, with your perfect grades - the typical straight A student -. You, and the annoying sound your fingers made while you were taking your notes on your computer. You, with your stupid habit of drinking a matcha latte boba before the first class started. You and your stupid, always perfect hair, styled the same way each day and yet never unkempt - how was it possible, by the way? -. You and your damn smile, bright and contagious. You and your nerdy friends, always sitting together in the diner talking about some stupid book or whatever the fuck it is nerds are into. You and your cute, puffy cheeks that turned red every time you had to give a presentation in class. You and your damn laughter, the most annoyingly cute sound he’d ever heard.

It made him sick. All of that.

What triggered Lee Felix the most, though, was that he couldn’t help but notice all those things, even though he disliked you. Oh, yeah, he definitely disliked you. Because if he didn’t, then it’d mean he liked you, and Lee Felix liked nobody.

He was expecting to find literally anyone else before him, once he turned around. Just not you, staring at him like an abandoned puppy. His breath hitched, and he hoped you wouldn’t notice. What could you possibly want from him?

“Lee Felix?”, you asked timidly.

Felix disliked the way your voice sounded incredibly cute and sweet. He absolutely didn’t like it.

“In the flesh.”, he responded with a cocky smirk.

You sighed out of… relief? “I’m y/n. I’m so sorry to bother you, we’re in the same class of English literature.”, you introduced yourself.

I know who you are, Felix wanted to tell you, The damn sound your fingernails make on your stupid keyboard drives me fucking crazy. But he didn’t say a word.

“Yeah, I know.”, he simply said.

You seemed surprised to hear those words. “Oh, that’s great… Listen, I need to ask you a favor.”

1. How many works do you have on Ao3?

I've just posted my 22nd work a few days ago!

2. What's your total Ao3 word count?

37,763

3. What fandoms do you write for?

So far, all my published fics are for Danny Phantom. It's a fandom that's near and dear to my heart and my favorite to write for. I've written fanfiction for myself in a lot of different fandoms over the years. Miraculous Ladybug, Mega Man (Star Force, Battle Network) and Fire Emblem are a few. (Will these ever see the light of day? Probs not, lol)

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? 5. Frayed Ends - 37 kudos - Jazz and Maddie are fighting more often. Jack wants to reach out and help his family. 4. The Same Blood - 45 kudos - Maddie and Jack try to help a sick girl that collapsed in front of their house. They don't know what to make of her condition. Danny wants to help.

3. Returned Home - 49 kudos - Maddie finds Danny at home after he disappeared ten months ago.

2. The Broken Pieces Left Behind - 66 kudos (tie) - Maddie knew what the portal did to Danny. If she could create something that essentially turned him into a ghost, she could figure out a way to fix all of it. Even if she hasn't made any progress in the past two months, she'll keep trying. She didn't account for what Danny wanted. 1 . What's Out of Out Control - 66 kudos (tie) - Danny thought he had it under control. He thought he could finally hang out like they used to always do. Tucker could feel the rift between them widening. It wasn't getting smaller anytime soon.

5. Do you respond to comments?

I try to! There were a few comments from my two earlier fics that I never responded to and it's already been so long and I feel like I ended up putting it off too long to say anything now 😓But I'm so so thankful for all the comments I receive! I never thought anyone would read my work, let alone comment on it. I'm always between two modes of 'author commentary' and 'screaming thank you and running away'.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Lol, I love my angsty stuff and there are so many different flavors of angst, so it's hard to pick just one. I'd say the piece I aimed to write for Angst Fest, The Broken Pieces Left Behind, might be it. It ends on a rather hopeless note for the Fenton family that even I don't know how to make everything better for them

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Probably Home for a Cat. It was for a Ectoberhaunt prompt that I was absolutely stumped on. So I decided someone was going to adopt a cat by the end of the fic.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Ahh, so I actually posted a fic on FFN wayyy back when I was in high school. I remember it being received pretty well but I got a really rude comment on a simple spelling mistake. Back then, I was just told I had dyslexia a few years prior and I had some really bad self-esteem issues tied in with that. So, yeah, that comment basically made me terrified to ever show my work to anyone ever.

It's been over ten years since then and I wanted to actually get over that fear. I impulsively decided to do Angst Fest with the mindset that no one would even look at what I posted. Not only did people look, everyone has been so kind!!!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

lkdajldkf, nope. I get flustered trying to write basic romance and having two characters hold hands, lmao. Major props to those that can, it's definitely a skill that takes time to master just like any other genre.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I haven't.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Also haven't had this either.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope, but it seems like a lot of fun.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

Back when the show was airing, Amethyst Ocean (Danny/Sam) was my go to. I'm a sucker for friends to lovers tropes and it's really nostalgic for me. But, I don't really read a lot of shippy things for Danny Phantom, so ships don't make or break a fic for me.

If I'm looking to read romance, the whole Love Square (MariChat my beloved) with Miraculous Ladybug will always be great. Even if I jumped ship on the show around season 2 or 3 and I have no clue what they're doing now, lol.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I honestly have so many WIPs that are unfinished on my computer from over the years. Maybe a super old one that I titled 'Phantoms in the Daylight'. Angst once more with Character Death as the main pain point. I like the beginning but oh boy, does it get sloppy and confusing real quick. I'd need serious outlining energy put into it if I'd ever want to salvage it and I just don't have it in me.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue! Give me two blorbos and I'll make them talk forever.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Scenery and description. I love the dialogue portion so much that I end up running into the floating heads in an empty room problem in the first drafts of my fics. My first round of edits are dedicated to making sure I have a scene and grounding characters into it. And then I have to go back later to make it not feel so robotic sounding.

(Also a weakness but more as in fic than writing. Summaries and Titles. I stare at my drafts on AO3's editor for at least half an hour trying to pull something together, lol)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I can probably talk about this for hours, lol. I absolutely love foreign languages, especially when it comes to linguistics. So, I'll try to be brief, lmao. Short answer: depends on the fic but normally no. I already spend so much time fussing over the word choice/slang/formality/dialect characters use in my native language. I don't have a good enough grasp on another language for it to sound natural to the reader. ("They would not fucking say that" is my internal monologue during dialogue edits, lol)

19. First fandom you wrote for?

It's a toss up between Pokemon and Danny Phantom. I first learned about fanfiction from a friend who showed me FFN for the Pokemon fics. I looked around the site and found all of the Danny Phantom fics soon after and got hooked on those. I started writing around then and it would have been for one of those two.

20. Favorite fic you've written?

Hard to chose one! Writing technicality wise, I'm proud of how What Remains on the Table turned out. I consider description my weak point, so the original draft was 0 dialogue with very stiff descriptions. I was able to edit it to really practice my environmental storytelling. (Although, please mind the tags if you click the link as it does deal with the dissection topic)

spencer clarke [the quarry]

i say it a lot but. she is me i am her. like actually, spencer has only been an oc for like a week and she has taken such a tight hold on my brain. I pour a lot of myself into my ocs, but i think spencer is the oc that has really gotten the most. she is the closest to a self insert i think out of all of them, she shares a lot of my behaviors and such. but she is just so fun for me to talk about (im sorry to lori and aj) and figuring her out has been such a blast.

amara owens [infamous: second son]

MISS AMARA CELESTE OWENS. I've had her for as long as i've had the fc5 clowns, or maybe even longer. Amara is an oc that makes me really happy. for a while, i never knew where i wanted to put her; i tried making her a multifandom oc but it just didn't feel right. then i played infamous: second son and it felt like everything just clicked with her. she's one of my most important ocs, no one else have i played the same game 6 times for.

marian ramos de-león [red dead redemption 2]

ms marian is also one of my oldest ocs, she's a little younger than the fc5 clowns, but she's also one of my favorites. she's another really fun character for me to think about. it was so fun to play the game and know exactly where she would be and what she would say. while i haven't done much with her canon or sadie au, making this new, spooky au for her was some of the most fun i've ever had with an oc. using concepts that i've always been a fan of but never really used has been so fun and it all clicks so well with marian

sylvie green [call of duty: modern warfare 2019]

my child whom i share custody of with lori. she has been one of my favorites for almost a year now, another one that has helped me figure out some stuff about myself, and like spencer she truly did grab onto my brain and has not let go. i never thought i'd make an oc for cod, let alone like,,,22 including side characters. half the fun has been getting to bounce ideas off of lori, and sylvie is absolutely one of those ideas. most things about her-- her name, her face, her backstory, even her ship-- are all lori's amazing ideas and i am so happy to have both of them in my life.

spencer clarke [the quarry]

like i said! i've only had spencer for like,,,4 days i think atp. but i love her a lot. with it being summer time here, i started thinking about the quarry again and jacob those that have been here u know i see a himbo i have to make a partner for them and decided it might be fun to make an oc for a horror game for a change! and i'm really happy i did.

jackie castillo [marvel]

more of lori's influence, seeing them talk about Asra and the rest of their marvel ocs made me want to make my own. Jackie is still a bit of a wip, but i love her all the same and i really do need to do some development on her.

blake liu [marvel]

my other marvel girlie. even more of lori's influence. Riri's roommate turned fellow kidnappee turned girlfriend. Asra's adopted daughter. Blake is so many things but everything clicks so well for her. another one i need to develop more, but i am so happy to have her as well.

thalia [assassin's creed: odyssey/origins]

thalia's some kind of phoenix-rising-from-the-ashes deal, but in a like, i scrapped one oc and made her. when i was overhauling Amara, i decided her assassin's creed au didn't really work, but i wanted an oc for odyssey so bad; so enter Thalia. she's one of my more stick in the mud characters but i still love her a lot.

elenore parker [far cry 5]

you all knew she'd be here. the blueprint. the very first clown. the batshit insane queen herself. the reason i made this blog. Elle has been through a lot. and i've been through a lot at the same time. she's been there for me as a creative outlet through a lot of bullshit and i am so thankful for her. making her let me deal with some of my own trauma in a way. she's one of the only ocs that i shove into different ships and aus, and every one just works so well for her. she's gotten a bit of an overhaul recently and i'm even more happy with her now.

emily parker [far cry 5]

i can't talk about Elle without Emily. Emily is also a very self inserty character but she's also someone i wish i could be somehow. I don't lean on her as much as i lean on Elle, but i enjoy messing with her every time i do. she's an older oc, but there's still things that are up in the air about her namely if i will ever commit to shipping her with Wheaty.

margo seed [far cry 5]

Margaret Elizabeth Seed, the only oc i have argued with someone about. she was the very first ship kid, such a commanding presence; ever since making her it almost felt like she made herself if that made sense? another one that things just really clicked with; she's also my first aroace oc, and that has become very important to me. she stands on her own, she's another one that i want to be like when i grow up.

daniel seed [far cry 5]

the second ship kid. Daniel almost didn't exist, but i decided Margo could benefit from a narrative foil of sorts. he was a bit of a hassle, he was my first male oc and as such i couldn't land on a face claim for the longest time which was really frustrating for me. he and Margo are both such fun characters to write for, i love how i've managed to make them so similar and so different at the same time.

warren armstrong [far cry 5]

Warren was made at the same time, or close to the same time, as Daniel. he's the first oc that I have actually come up with a family for though, and that has become somewhat of a trend because of him. Warren took a second to really figure out, but he fits in so well with the twins and their shenanigans once i did. I don't talk about him nearly as much as i should, but he is also one of my favorites.

ines cousland [dragon age origins]

I have a lot of violent or manipulative ocs (i think, at least), but none of them are on the level that Ines is. Ines walks around with a sort of chip on her shoulder about the world she lives in. she's composed and calculating and power hungry. she makes a lot of cruel and sort of impulsive decisions as a warden, but she is always one step ahead of those that challenge her. she knows she has enemies and she will stop at nothing to ruin their lives just for the fun of it. she's also incredibly ambitious as well; she wanted to be one of, if not the most, powerful people in Thedas, and she would stop at nothing to get herself there.

rhea dawn [fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood]

Rhea is not nearly as malicious as Ines is but she has her moments. she's not technically a villain, but she's also not really going out of her way to help the heroes either. she's never really had any second thoughts about her actions, she will take her own side before anyone else's. she knows she's one of the most powerful alchemists in the world, and if that inspires some fear then so be it.

levi choi [call of duty: modern warfare 2019]

he has to be here, but he's not really that mean compared to the two above. Levi's that friend that is always brutally honest, the one that you just want to fight sometimes because of it. he's not afraid to say what he thinks, he never writes a check that his ass can't cash, and you will hear about it if you piss him or his friends off.

– softest oc.

melanie vargas [the last of us]

Mel is another oc that got somewhat of an overhaul. when hbo tlou came out, i decided i didn't like the direction i went with her, so i scrapped it and started over. she turned out a lot softer this time, being reworked to be one of the friendliest faces of Jackson now. she is a bit more of a background character now because of her role in the universe, but i think that works out better for her.

amara owens [infamous: second son]

my favorite daughter here once again. Amara is one of the softer characters in the main cast of second son but that's not to say she's a pushover either. she would do anything for her friends, she would give anything to help a stranger. she's just one of those ocs that radiates a lot of positive energy and light.

kennedy ryder [mass effect: andromeda]

another one that's soft but is not a pushover. Kennedy would do anything to help anyone in need, but she will not let her kindness be taken advantage of by anyone. she's seen a lot, she's been through a lot, but she doesn't let it get to her. she's also the resident optimist of the gang, which can be a blessing and a curse.

nettie hayes [red dead redemption 2]

nettie, however, is too soft for her own good. maybe. she's the most optimistic oc of mine, always has her rose colored glasses on. in her mind, her world is a lot more idyllic than it is. she is a bit of a pushover as well; she can recognize when she's being screwed over but she won't do anything about it. she wears her heart on her sleeve and is probably the most sensitive of my ocs

arden [potion permit]

she's quiet, she keeps to herself, she doesn't say much. Arden's not like this because of something that's happened to her, i think you could say; moreso, it's her line of work that made her like this. Arden tries to not get attached because she knows most people she deals with will only be in her life a short period of time. most people, not all of them.

veris lavellan [dragon age: inquisition]

Veris Rila, my first inquisitor, one of the dimmest lightbulbs in my chandler but she still shines. she is the very definition of 'just trying her best.' she's smart in her own way, one that does not make sense to anyone but herself. she's also impulsive, almost out of spite at this point.

gwen khoury [uncharted]

Dr. Gwendolyn Mila Khoury, Ph.D. Gwen learns shit just for the fun of it honestly, and she will spout off if given the chance. she is incredibly, and sometimes annoyingly, curious. Gwen will pick up a new language or skill just to learn something new.

hanan shepard [mass effect]

another knowledge sponge, Hanan loves to learn about anything she can get her hands on. ship engineering, biotics, alien languages-- Hanan will find something new to learn whenever she can. and she will not hesitate to info dump on the nearest person.

andy kwan [tomb raider]

Andy! another incredibly bright mind. she's working on her masters in ecosystems ecology for much of the tomb raider shenanigans, and she uses these trips for her own personal research. she's not quite on the 'learning something new just for shits and gigs,' but that does not stop her from constantly taking in some knowledge somehow

20 Questions for Fic Writers

1. How many works do you have on AO3? 82.

2. What's your total AO3 word count? 128,198.

3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently, LOTR, Silmarillion, Narnia, and Timeless. I'd like to get back to writing Turn fics, though. I have a couple ideas for oneshots that have been rattling around in my brain.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

winter-touched, frost-bitten (Spinning Silver, T, Miryem/the Staryk Lord, 1.1k): A missing scene in which Miryem strikes a new bargain with the Staryk Lord.

As the Hare Flees Before the Wolf (Silmarillion, T, Eöl & Celegorm, 1.8k): Curufin is not the only son of Fëanor Eöl meets upon the plains of Himlad. Or, Eöl meets Celegorm while pursuing Aredhel and Maeglin, and things go very badly for him.

Here at Journey's End (LOTR, G, Frodo & Legolas, 1.6k): They stay for those they love.

West, West Away (LOTR, G, Sam & Thranduil, 3.6k): Sam meets an unlikely kindred spirit on the journey West.

and I will love with urgency, but not with haste (Silmarillion, T, Andreth/Aegnor, 3.1k): A summer evening spent in a glade near the shores of the Aeluin.

5. Do you respond to comments? Yep! It may take me a while, but I always do. The only exceptions are for cryptic comments that I don't understand and have no idea what to reply with.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Lol. Lmao, even. At least half of my fics are nothing but angst. So...*spins wheel* Let's go with darkness lies on the foaming waves between us (LOTR, G, Arwen & Celebrían & Elwing, 1k), in which Arwen shares the news of her choice with her mother.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I do actually have a couple fics that would qualify for this (shocking, I know), but I have a special place in my heart for And There Make a Garden (LOTR, G, Éowyn, <1k). Éowyn finally being happy and content is everything to me.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Not since I returned to fandom in 2020 and started posting on AO3 (unless some of those aforementioned cryptic comments are badly worded hate). But I did get the occasional hateful comment back when I posted on FFN.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Occasionally and it's very vanilla.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Never written one.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? I hope not!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Nope.

14. What’s your all time favorite ship? I must be loyal to my thirteen-year-old self and say Faramir/Éowyn, my forever OTP.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I really would like to finish And Every Winter Turn to Spring (Turn, Anna/Hewlett), but I don't think I can rekindle the same enthusiasm I had for it during the height of my Turn fixation in 2020/2021. That, and I'm sure that if I were to pick it up again, I'd want to tear it apart and fix it up because it was one of the first fics I started writing after a years-long break from fic writing, and I'm certain I'd be embarrassed by parts of it now. And doing heavy editing like that feels overwhelming right now.

16. What are your writing strengths? Usually characterization and description, but I've been having trouble with my descriptions lately, and in a very strange twist, dialogue has—for the first time ever—been easier for me.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Plots. You will be getting no 100k+ longfics from me. Sorry. Oneshots or bust.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I only use other languages when writing Tolkien fic and do so sparingly and always with translations in the author notes. All phrases are yoinked from RealElvish.net because I can't be assed to put Elvish sentences together myself. Sorry JRRT.

19. First fandom you wrote for? LOTR. A couple of ancient fics that have never and will never see the light of day.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written? It changes by the day, but I am very fond of On These Hither Shores (LOTR, G, Frodo & Boromir, 3.2k). It took a while to come together, but I'm so happy with how it turned out and that I finally achieved my goal of writing Frodo and Boromir getting to know each other before everything went to hell in a handbasket.

At the moment, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has eaten my soul. But I also have works in X-Men comics & movieverse (Summers brothers, Gambit/Rogue), MCU Avengers (mostly Taserhawk but a few Captain Hill thrown in there for fun), and possibly my longest running faves, Clois, in all sorts of media.

I'm trying to be better at it but I did go through about 5 years of not writing so I never answered those comments. Right now I try to reply as soon as I post the next chapter of the same fic.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

A very very very VERY old Gambit/Rogue fic that I would disavow except I believe in archiving everything even your shittiest piece of work.

Angstiest ending of a fic that I don't mind naming? Toss up between Because Thorns Have Roses, a X-Men Fox movieverse involving a time-travelling Gambit; or Polish Them Rockets, Swallow Those Pills an MCU Taserhawk break-up fic (which has a sequel that negates the angst).

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Most of my fics end happily. They just go through the wringer to get there.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I don't think so? Unless there are some subtweet style comments out there that I'm not privy to.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yeps. Yeppers. Absolutely yes. About half of my fics have smut. I can't write PWP though; all my porn has plot.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Yes. I wouldn't call them crazy by any means but I have 2 X-Men/Superman ones-- one where the Kents with a young Clark ended up adopting Scott Summers|Cyclops after his parents' plane crashes in their field. And another where FoxMovieverse Cyclops' ghost possesses Richard White from Man of Steel, just because James Marsden played both characters. Neither are on Ao3 at the moment. I should really post them there with FFN in its death throes.

I don't think so. I hope not.

Nopes.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have too many control issues to co-write anything.

I don't know if I have one favourite. I don't write them if I'm not utterly compelled by their chemistry.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

LeBeau, the third installation of my D'Ancanto series. It's not a even a WIP, really, more like a detailed outline but I don't know if I'm in that headspace any more. Even if I was, I remember thinking the outline needed such a major overhaul that I'd basically have to start all over again except the very last scene.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Possibly world-building? It's my favourite part anyway. Dialogue for certain characters.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I'm very verbose. That world-building thing. Also, sometimes I think I rush endings especially on the longer (> 50,000 word) fics

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Depends. Long conversations in another language, I just write in English with a comment somewhere in the beginning that it's in whatever language. Phrases or words that have no "English" translation, I'll put in said language with translations in the notes. Also, if the character tends to say those words/phrases in another language. I try my best to find a real person translator though I've started to learn a few languages trying to translate it myself.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Probably X-Men. Or the Anne of Green Gables books.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Oh my god! I don't have just one, it rotates a lot, and usually whichever one I'm working on is my fave. My current top 3 are:

The Pearl I Carry in My Heart : The world-building, political drama Nashuri I mentioned before

Cho Chang and the Jasmine Code : an HP fic about using magic based on other cultures not just Latin/Greek/British-based lore; specifically, Chinese magic which is based on calligraphy and music/tonality.

and, D'Ancanto : an gory whodunnit X-Men FoxMovieverse, post-X2, with Rogue/Marie D'Ancanto is a detective in the first police department where mutant cops solve crimes against or by other mutants.

What is the main lesson of your story (e.g. kindness, diversity, anti-war), and why did you choose it? Honestly my themes kind of grow from the story instead of the other way around, but overall I'd say it's something along the lines of discrimination and how dangerous hate can be. (<< sounds cool, has no idea how she's going to actually write this) But I will say there's a lot of like - mini themes in it too, because each character has their own issues and needs to learn different things to grow. Stuff about communication, about self-care, about finding yourself, about courage, etc etc. Very scattered, ik.

What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding (like real-life cultures, animals, famous media, websites, etc.)? I'd say there's a lot of like?? Mythological creatures?? Y'know the classics like vampires and werewolves and selkies and what not. And then I just. Turn it all on its head. All the myths of them still exist in-universe - they're just wildly inaccurate because humans have been passing the stories down for decades. In actuality, Beasts are much more different. (Also and this is rather embarrassing to admit, but I've been stealing aHeM taking inspiration for characters from all of the media I've been watching. Which is. Mostly anime. Plus some worldbuilding details from fanfic aus I've thought up.)

What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, help readers grow as a person? Honestly? I have no idea. As of now, he's mostly trying to survive. I think the issue with Crys is that largely he's not someone who actually has a goal he wants to achieve?? The growth he experiences is not a thing he really decides he wants, but more something he needs, which the narrative basically has to drag him into. As for me... mostly I just want to write my stories and have them reach someone somewhere. It's probably the same for a lot of us who share those stories.

How many chapters is your story going to have? No idea. 40-something?? 50??? I always underestimate my end wordcount and my chapters vary wildly in length.

Is it fanfiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it? Original content!! I've been thinking about tweaking some stuff in Crow Wings (book 1) after I've finished first drafting Witch's Book (book 2), then I'll probably throw it up on ao3 and maybe simultaneously post it here.

When and why did you start writing? Sometime when I was a kid I think?? I'm pretty sure I was vaguely upset and bored and then I just picked up a pencil and started going at it. It was titled 'Survival' and it was basically a ripoff of I Am Number Four, littered with grammar and spelling mistakes, and all the cringefail, mary sue tropes small me could think up. I kid you not, the main character was named Emma, she had blond hair and blue eyes, and she was so good at fighting she was better at it then boys, even. Gasp!! Color me surprised!!!!! Anyway I still have it with me due to nostalgia reasons but it is hidden in my drawer under my bed where the light of day will never reach. Don't judge me, I was like nine.

Do you have any words of engagement for fellow writers of Writeblr? What other writers of Tumblr do you follow? We're all friends here and we're all still learning, so don't be afraid to share your work!! Something you feel might not be "good enough" is a story someone out there will love - and take it from a person with low self-confidence, your writing's often not as bad as you think! :D (also c'mon. it can't be worse than what nine-year-old me thought up.) As for writers... well I am following a lot of people but I'm just gonna tag a few of my mutuals. There's @lyssa-ink (my first ever writeblr mutual!!! she does fantasy with a lot of immortals, fae and court politics), and also @reneesbooks (go check out lacuna. birdie is adorable and jack is so funny to me). Also @macabremoons (vampires. lots of vampires. also super fun to talk to!!!), @sidhewrites (love graveyard lesbians. kaz is an absolute disaster and lucy is just so!!!), and @loopyhoopywrites (the Ex-Quest is peak comedy. every excerpt I read leaves me wheezing). I don't talk as much with @space-writes, @e-klair, @sapphos-scientist or @squarebracket-trick, but they're all lovely, talented writers and I really appreciate that they let me yell about Beast at them!!! There's also @scribbling-stardust (one of my most recent moots. her oc dahlia and my oc dahlia are literally twins. it's hilarious). Lastly, closing off with @allianaavelinjackson, who isn't very active on tumblr but is nonetheless always available to brainstorm (read: listen to me go insane) over Beast. Love ya <3

im so curious, what was that fic you read about arthur going back in time and trying to fix things, going through every episode? you mentioned it the tags of a merlin post and it sounds really interesting

Hi! I, too, have been wondering what that fic was all day since I wrote those tags. Ever since I made my ao3 account about 2 years ago, I've privately bookmarked every fanfic I finished reading with my own tags and with commentary of what was good and bad literally for this exact situation where I remember a fic and want to find it again just so I know I didn't dream it. But it wasn't in my ao3 bookmarks, and I never did much reading on ao3 as a guest, which tells me I read it on fanfiction.net.

So I went there and tried finding it but I must admit, I never really got the hang of looking for things over there. It's not as well put together as the archive, after all.

I know that the fic was in Arthur's POV. I know that it started off with episode 1 and that Arthur quickly puts together what happened to him (that he died in Merlin's arms and then woke up in his bed about 10 years earlier) and he starts going through all the episodes being very nice to Merlin. I know that Time Travel was involved. I know that we go through all the episodes in order until episode 10, where things go a bit differently after the events of the battle at Ealdor.

I wish I knew how to find it based on that, but I don't.

If you go looking for it yourself, I must warn you of attempted suicide and implied suicide towards the end of the fic. There's more time travel things that happen, where Old Merlin, who is now maybe 500 years old, replaces the Young Merlin that was with Arthur and we come to learn that after Arthur's death, Merlin tried very hard to be patient and wait for him, but couldn't do it. Problem was, he was immortal. So he tried all sorts of things to try and end his waiting. He correctly guessed that if he succeeded then he would be reunited with Arthur, but the whole thing was very dark and concerning and I remember it being the topic of an entire chapter and Arthur insisted on talking about it, so it wasn't just a pass and go plot point. So please be careful if you go searching for it!

To make up for it, let me guide you to one of my top 3 favorite Merlin fanfics of all time, also on fanfic.net (it's not on ao3, or I'd guide you there). Essentially, what if Arthur found out right at the beginning of season 3? This fic is basically the story I thought I was getting into when watching season 1. Arthur eventually finding out, his friendship and brotherhood and also two sides of the same coin-ed-ness with Merlin growing stronger all the time because now he knows, and deeper exploration into what Merlin's powers might be in a way that doesn't overpower him or create unnecessary rules. Arthur having to go behind Uther's back to protect Merlin, much in the same way that Merlin protects him all the time. And as you get deeper into the story, one by one the others find out too. Gwen, Gwaine, Morgouse... It's just so well put together. Like I said, it's everything I thought the show would do, until you realized the show wasn't going to do it. Highly HIGHLY recommend it.

Not an actual reluctant shippers story but more of I gave this show so many outs story. Listen I just love, love and I ship by nature. The moment I saw those 2 I was like I need them to kiss, then I met Chris and I was like I need them to cuddle on the couch together. I would never not ship them but I half heartedly gave the show liency I may not have in the past. My thoughts over 5 years watching them ranged alot

I'm the beginning I though maybe they just keep them single best bros, helping a single buddy out. Honestly it wouldn't have failed. This show already has 3 very popular couples. An ensemble show doesn't need 5. You could have kept ambiguous flow while throwing in how was your date dialogue and the audience would roll with it.

Then sometimes I thought Ryan and Oliver wanted it because they push and acted it so well. Let's also be real they don't have a say, if the network wants it they get it. Ryan absolutely sold nothing with Anna, and Oliver was meh with Taylor. So I was like OK the network is homophobic?

Then for a period ok maybe they will have off screen girlfriends we occasionally see while still getting them in the glory??

At this point l though it's just hilarious if they aren't together at the end. If you end this with them married off to other people I'm just gonna rewrite it in my head. A year later they both had had to many sex dreams about the other divorced their wives and opened a sure shop in Peru with Christopher

But yeah the moral of the story I gave this show so many outs to dilute them and all they ever did wad make them stronger. Even noncanon they are more connected then some Canon couples on shows.

Honestly, all of this. I mean, I have said the same thing as the last sentence of your ask in at least two of my meta posts (such as my 501 meta). Because it's SO true, it just drives me up a wall! And I have also said it repeatedly: no other Love Interest at this point can compete with the almost 5 seasons of build up that Buddie have had so far, which means no LI they get for either Buck or Eddie at this point will be satisfactory for many viewers. Possibly even most, since it seems a lot of casual viewers have also picked up on the Buddie vibes at one point or another. And for me personally it was a done deal the second Eddie put his thumb on Buck's pulse point, on his VEIN OF LIFE, looked him in the eyes and in the most earnest way possible said, "There's nobody in the world I trust with my son more than you." For Eddie, who is so thoroughly Christopher's dad, there is no greater love statement than that. The guardianship reveal in 414 was an expansion and practical implementation of that statement. Yeah, I knew at the end of 303 that I'm doomed and I would never be able to see Buck and Eddie with anyone else except the other one. Like you said, if that's not how canon wraps it up? That just means canon stopped before the real end of their story. Because those two are BOUND to end up together, fully raising Chris as his married (and sickeningly in love) dads.

i try to get to every single one, but i still don't know what the protocol is for long fics when a reader leaves a comment on every single chapter. i try to just reply to the last one to avoid spamming them, but generally i love receiving comments so i usually get back to all of them!

6) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

no angsty endings, only angsty beginnings and middles

7) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

...all of them? i think? my fics are pretty formulaic, at this point, so any conflict gets resolved by the end. i'd say my favorite ending is the one i wrote in Therein Lies the Heart, mostly because it's set in a time where orihime was still recovering from everything she went through in hueco mundo and figuring out how she wants to grow next as an individual, so i like how it ends with a hopeful note that she's made peace with whatever has happened and is ready to take on whatever is coming next! i think it sits neatly between pre-timeskip and post-timeskip in canon bleach, but that's just me!

8) Do you get hate on fics?

no, thankfully

9) Do you write smut?

not often. they're hard to write!

10) Do you write crossovers?

i think crossovers are very interesting but they're hard to execute in a way that incorporates the themes and elements of both stories! i joke around a lot about my favorite characters from bleach meeting my favorite characters from kuroko no basket and i love to toy around with unconventional team-ups like kakashi and orihime being pen-pals or ichigo and kuroko being classmates in college (since they're interested in the same major) but i don't think i'd actually write any, it's just me playing around with my dolls and then putting them back in the box! i don't read many either, but the one fic i did read (which was a knb/free crossover i think) was very good, even if i haven't actually watched free! crossovers require a special talent and while i'm curious about how i'd approach one, idk if i actually will😅

not a good plot person, i think. most of my fics are born out of short-term ideas or concepts or stories where nothing really happens and characters just feel things. i am also a lazy proof-reader so most of my edits/additions/corrections happen after i post something. i'm trying to work on that!

18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

i don't think i've ever put in a whole dialogue in another language, but there are some words and honorifics that you really can't capture accurately in english, so i pepper those in. they're pretty infrequent, though. i try to stick to what i know and work with it!

....supernatural, but i never posted it anywhere 💀 the first fics i posted were all in the batman fandom

20) Favorite fic you've ever written?

You Can Show Me Your Heart (ChadHime) - this fic had been in my head for two whole years but i had never attempted writing it because i could never figure out how to start. once i finished it though, i ended up loving it a lot! i also love circuit which is my first aokagakuro fic!

Yes, that's most of what I write and it's whatever I find hot. 😅 I cannot write porn if it's not something I think would be sexy cause I know it won't come out good and I take pride and writing good smut. Other than that I don't really have a preference for which kind of gender/sex to write. If I care enough about a character there will eventually be a nsfw scenario featuring them on my mind :)

9.) Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

I usually do, because it makes me happy when someone takes the time to comment on my fics and I want them to know 💜

I have been told I'm good with (dramatic) character introductions and setting the mood. I always get these super detailed images in my head and then I try to convey those feelings and pictures into words and I'd say I'm doing very well with that. ✨🔥

Plot, planning things ahead, and actually posting the stuff I do finish. 💀

18.) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?

I like it when it's just single words that are not plot relevant (like greetings and short exclamations that can be made sense of in the context), but you will never find me writing entire paragraphs in a different language just to make you scroll to the end of a fic multiple times throughout a chapter so you can look for a translation (sorry if I sound like bitch here but I hate having my reading flow interrupted rip)

Sherlock (BBC) I think there's still one of the fics on my ancient instagram lol

This is easier to answer than I thought when I first read through these questions, but it's definitely Unwinding Mr. Kirkland. I spent months editing it until I was happy with it and I love it I love every last sentence I wrote there. 💖

In Supersons we see a couple of kids that are implied to be Damian and Jon's children and the boy has laser eyes and can fly, so I asume he's not adopted. The girl, who calls Bruce grandpa, can also fly, btw. So it's canon (probably by accident) that Jon can have kids and he must have married one of Bruce's kids. Ok another rant but under a readmore this time bc of the weird tag search shenanigans and this has what would possibly be seen as "key words" that could come up in searches I don't want them to. Warning I guess that I'm really fucking angry rn and that this is about the introject thing again.

Ok so I haven't slept or anything so maybe this won't make sense, but I feel like a part of why I refuse to touch "introject" stuff as it currently exists online is because the struggles people post about (whether they're valid struggles or not is not my place to say) are utterly foreign to me and not relevant to my life or experience in the slightest and likely never will be. And also they're the only thing people talk about re:introjects and nobody ever shuts up about it. Primarily the issues are "people are treating me like my source and saying they love [character]" or "I saw some fanart of [character] and it made me uncomfortable" or generally? I guess fandom-y stuff. And I don't mean to victim blame here but 1. If you walk into a Danganronpa server and introduce yourself as Komaeda or smth. I'm not sure what you're expecting and 2. A lot of the issues IMO can be boiled down to "please just learn how to filter things and scroll away block tags block blogs not everything is about u"

Occasionally there's some things I relate to, but even then they're often parsed in a way extremely different from my experiences. For example, I have parts that have "memories" or feel like they miss people who never existed, but like. I am able to recognize that that's just my brain putting some new paint on old traumas to try and make them easier to swallow, for the most part, and are more symbolic than literal. I never understood "source calls" in the context of DID/OSDD, as I thought we all knew that introjects aren't from some parallel universe and are created by our brains, and thus any people in any false "memories" are not and will not ever be real people? Which I get is hard to swallow sometimes, but IDK what ppl expect to get out of meeting a stranger on the internet whos brain related to a different dude from the same thing ur brain related to. PwDID aren't like. Psychics. I feel like the advice given for these posts (if they're not just empty platitudes, which is the most common) is utterly unhelpful for me. "Do things that remind u of ur source" "buy some manga of your source" "remember ur valid as [character]" I don't want to do any of those things actually. I would actually prefer to not be validated as a character bc I am not one. It reminds me more of what I'd expect from old kin communities I was a part of as a teen than what I'd expect from people within the frame of mental illness and trauma. And like, back when I thought I was kin I guess sometimes stuff like that felt nice, but feeling nice isn't always the goal. Sometimes something feeling nice can be a detractor from something that actually does good.

Not to mention, it feels like a lot of these posts are operating on this idea that not only are introjects a Special Kind of Part (which people more eloquent than I have made posts about how that's bullshit at best) but that everyone puts their introjects front n center, "this is Naruto from Naruto and here's his pseudomemories and likes and dislikes and-" etc etc etc like I can eliminate 99% of posts about introjects from my consideration based on the fact alone that I don't tell people about my introjects. No shade to people who do share, but it's just not a universal experience like how people frame it to be.

There are definitely things that I struggle with related to introjection. I just feel like it's very uncommon to see anything beyond "people treat me like the real [character]" or "people DONT treat me like [character]" or other shit like that related to like. Entering a fandom space openly as an introject, something I could literally never imagine doing I'd sooner microwave tin foil than join a fandom discord for a media I introjected from. I feel like a lot of the things I struggle with are very internal. Between me myself and I. No pun intended.

Anyway this is more and more of an annoyance clawing at my brain every time I've made the mistake of looking at anything any of the hash tag fictives or whatever post online or even just any shit about introjects in general. And bc people can't shut the fuck up about introjects for two goddamn seconds and DID is basically treated as introject disease on tumblr.edu it feels like I can't escape it bc it's fucking everywhere everyone's gotta talk about fictives and factives and fucktives etc etc all the fucking time whenever we talk about DID bc it's sooooo important to treat the anime boys right and make sure all the shit u post online about [anime of the week] is suitable for if the real Joe Schmo from Joe Schmo Adventures sees your post about how Joe's pal Jake has a good ass or whatever. I'm sick of it.

Ironically one of the introjected parts of my sys is telling me to tone this shit down a little and the other main one isn't around RN but would definitely not approve. I don't fucking care though I need to talk about how sick I am of this shit. I know he's sick of it too even if he's nicer about it. I can bitch if I want to I'm not hurting anyone and I'm not calling anyone out or anything I'm literally just saying I'm sick of the entire DID conversation being turned into "how to make introjects comfy" esp when the answers are bullshit and only apply to niche communities but are treated like the word of fucking god. """Singlets""" getting """educated""" on why it's of utmost importance you make Bakugo from the shit system feel safe and supported and shield him from any criticism or people who just don't like that character or like him too much or whatever not to mention the fucking RACISM that keeps rearing it's ugly head every time some white motherfucker feels the need to make some weird out of touch post about racism re:introjects with "ohhh u can't say slurs" bc that's all white ppl ever talk about with racism is fucking slurs which have the least relevance to any systemic change at all.

Hi yes hello I just had a thought. Obviously TOG sets up that Nile will be the new leader of the Guard. She's not ready just yet but she's got what it takes and she will be one day. She will be ready before Andy dies one last time.

After jumping out that widow, labrys buried in Merrik's shoulder, Nile puts herself back together and hands the weapon back to its owner. She's conceding that Andy is still the leader, despite her mortality, and furthermore, that Nile will follow her.

What I want to see in a sequel movie (does not need to be in 2 Old 2 Guard, honestly I'd be very happy to wait for it if we could get more movies out of this) would be a very weighted callback shot of Andy handing the labrys to Nile. The passing of the torch would parallel so beautifully! Maybe it's years down the line and Andy gives it to Nile before a mission, showing she can take the lead now? Maybe Nile picks up the labrys after a mission and tries to hand it to Andy again and Andy wraps Nile's hand more firmly around the handle? Andy dying of her injuries after a fight, her last act is to entrust Nile with their family and her legacy? So many possibilities and any of them would make me cry.

Hey @adult-in-progress ! thanks for the ask. I can't seem to tag you properly though. I don't know what's wrong--I can tag other blogs but not yours. Anyway, I hope you read this response.

26) Which part of WitW was the hardest to write?

It might surprise you, but it's not any of the big scenes. I think big scenes are... not easier, just that I'm super excited about writing them and some, like the events in the Stone Circle, I've thought about again and again so it's just about putting them down on paper.

So, it'll have to be the last scene in Ch7, the one in the car after they leave the ice cream parlor. First off, I've been overly conscious of length in part 2. I wanted to have a flashback in every chapter and, if you look back, this chapter is the only one that doesn't have it--I took it out. I love the first scene (Andreas in the car) and the second scene (main one in the parlor), so it's only the third scene that I can shorten. But at the same time, I couldn't get the proper tone for it. Maja herself is conflicted about what she feels (she loves him but has to hate him, so she wants to stay away but she can't do that either) and I had a hard time writing that. Seems to me that they should be shouting at each other, but they're supposed to do that in ch8 (for the kiss) so it would be redundant--besides, length! 😆 I did write it though, just took it out. There are also a dozen ideas that I wanted to cram in there on what Saul has been up to those two weeks (only one ended up in the story), like he has a go-bag stashed in multiple places across the city (cash, clothes, etc.) and key details on how he found Maja. This is because ch6 was supposed to be Saul-centric. When I changed it to be Maja-centric (because it fell flat), I thought I'd still be able to put those ideas in ch7 or at least ch8. But again, length! Also, it wasn't as necessary to the story.

34) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten?

I haven't written enough fics to receive harsh criticisms yet, thank god. I think the mildest non-constructive criticism would have me burying my head in the sand. I've gotten one constructive criticism, which was fine--it's on the use of 'would'. But I did have one avid commenter at the start of WitW who only gave feedback on the fluffy parts and none at all for serious parts, even in the ones where there are big reveals. And since I'm new to fanfic writing, this made me think that fluff was what readers wanted and so I was so nervous posting serious chapters (you can see this in my notes to ch9, also in my responses to comments). But, in the end, I just went 'screw it' and kept posting. You can't please everyone.

49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?

Showing my age here, but it was in 2006 or 2007 about the show 'Dark Angel'. I had a huge crush on Jensen Ackles then, even though I've never actually seen full episodes of Dark Angel (or maybe I have, probably just some clips in Youtube). It wasn't in AO3, which I'm not sure even existed back then. The writer had her own site and she wrote dozens and dozens of fics about Dark Angel, pairing Jessica Alba's character (Mac? Max?) with Jensen's Alec. I think she's a published author now, but can't remember her name.

6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?

I love both the fics I wrote. I can't imagine deleting them. I think 50-yo or even 70-yo me would still be happy with them. At most, I'd laugh at the way I wrote but not the overall story. As for the original works, whether there's any I'd bury and never let anyone read even after my death, there's one (although I'm ambivalent; I might still let it be read as long as we don't talk abt it ever) just because it's full of smut 🤣🤣.
