Reacting to Animated Marvel Shows 6/?
Again, no context for this show. Spoilers for Superhero Squad 1x20 (though on IMDb it's 1x07 so it might be mixed up on Disney+).
I'm afraid of what cliched writing I'm about to get myself into.
Hey, hey, Marvel? Would it kill ya to give us an animated Loki that isn't, or at least doesn't stay, the villain? Just once?
Here comes my boi!
That is a disturbing uhh post-modern industrial take on Cthulu?
THE FUCK IS M.O.D.O.K'S VOICE???
THAT'S STITCH!!!
Oh shit Loki's a little one in this
I mean, they're all kinda chibi-ish, but my boi is YOUNG
FUCK OFF, creature from the black lagoon, only Loki gets to make that stupid pun
I take issue with "wicked" and I take issue with "half-brother". It's "anti-heroic adopted sibling," M.O.D.O.K.
Oh my god, we're going Batman rogues gallery levels of nonstop shitty name-related puns, huh?
Also god I hate the voice this actor is doing for him but it is pretty camp, so I guess it's accurate in that respect.
Whoa Loki flirting with Doom is a very bold choice [please I want to see this in the MCU please]
Characterization? On point. Fight skills? Horrendous. No magic, whatsoever. Voice? Makes me want to chew glass. Like Kronk coming off of helium while starting a sugar rush. Laughter? I'm gonna hit him as hard as I can and I will not resent the consequences, it's so fucking grating. Who is this voice actor and why did they think it was good casting?? At least he has green eyes this time.
Why does he have one of those handheld devices from Cyberchase???
Why is Falcon fighting over a ball with a kid? Sam, it's a game and Reptil is like 15.
Hulk spit it out oh my god
Ironman's like "All right time to stage an unprompted invasion. You know, like how heroes famously always do?" Tony, please stop violating the Geneva Convention
And then Hulk recreated the story of John Henry
Hey guys, where's Loki? He's kinda the whole reason that I'm here. Not that Tony starting a war isn't fascinating and very original...
Tony is warmongering and horny
Tony, you literally watched Thor jump onto her horse and hug her immediately. I'm gonna guess she's not single.
Falcon I am begging you to grow up
Heimdall stop with the Lord of the Rings references
Heimdall is also a voice I recognize. Hang on. Well I was on IMDb for like 10 minutes because the man was in a lot of video games (which is not helpful because I only play Animal Crossing), but the only thing I recognized was that he played Santa/Jolnir in Frost Fight.
Wolverine's voice is so funny!
Fandral! Volstagg!
It has taken me an embarrassingly long time (15 min in) to realize that while Travis Willingham does not voice Thor in this show (I looked that up immediately), he does voice Hulk.
Noooo Volstagg!
Thor: This is your fault. Dad asked me to stop you.
Loki: Yeah, he always loved you best.
Loki, I'm with you, usually, but that's not the point right now. You're leading a fucking coup, you don't exactly get to play the "Daddy's choosing sides" card here.
He's got a point, Thor. It is coming off the "Thor is a baby" schoolyard taunts, but he's not wrong about the inaccurate Elizabethan English.
"Take it back!" Take what back, Thor? That you talk like a middle schooler playing dnd for the first time? He's making an observation, and frankly, the shit I've said about your jargon is ruder than what he did.
Most accurate representation of sibling squabbles, but y'all aren't twelve
Tumblr media
I'm SQUAWKING! Never have I been so excited over a typo before.
Doom watching TV Guide is the best joke in this episode

AO3 Tag Game
Thanks for the tag @captainjimothycarter
This was a wild fucking ride, and I invite ANY and all of you to hop in my ask to discuss any and or all of this. because I’ve been writing fic since the 90′s...
1. How many works do you have on ao3? 223
2. What’s your current AO3 wordcount? 1,016,444 (Holy shit I had NO IDEA)
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they? 10 Main fandoms (Captain America/MCU/Agent Carter, Once Upon a Time, CSI, Big Bang Theory, X-Men, Doctor Who, X-Files, House, Nolan-verse Batman, Stargate Sg1/Universe) with crossovers that included 9 other fandoms (Operation Endgame, Ravenous, Indiana Jones, Monster’s Inc, 10th Kingdom, The Santa Clause, Outlander, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Return to Oz)
I also have some questionable Lois and Clark the new adventures of Superman and MacGyver fic I’ve never published.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
The Silly Stocking Supposition (995)
The Attractive Enchantress Extension (656)
The Unexpected Evening Encounter (518)
The Descending Spiral Derivation (430)
Nobody’s Baby (406)
I don’t know why it surprises me that the top four are BBT Sheldon/Penny. The Shenny community I was a part of was AMAZING and to this day I don’t think a SINGLE day goes by where I don’t get notifications about kudos on my S/P fics.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not. I didn’t in the beginning- I came from ff.net where that wasn’t something you really did unless you DM’d the person, and I felt like it was “inflating” the number of comments. BUT i have since learned how important it is to thank people for their comments, and how much fun it can be to talk to people there, so now I reply to EVERY comment, even if it takes me a while to get there. Because I appreciate you. I really, really do.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? I mean... In most of my other fandoms I was the QUEEN of angst. Especially X-Men. Like- there’s a story where Rogue commits suicide. And the one where Logan watches his children grow old and die because he can’t die. I’ve done a few for Steggy- Steve talking to Peggy’s AI, Steve replacing Peggy’s picture in his compass, Old Steve living through the snap again... My House fics are are pretty angsty... and some of my S/P ones, too. Like- there’s a lot of angst. Probably more than happy endings.
7. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve ever written? Ha. ha ha. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
I mean, let’s start with the ones that make sense, shall we? Cap/Indiana jones. Totally makes sense. As does Doctor Who/Avengers, because Doctor Who can be anywhere, right?? And Outlander/Captain America sort of makes sense because of the time period and them both being in the same war.
There’s my still unpublished (shh, i know, I know) Stargate SG-1/MCU crossover... As soon as I manage a plot that’s getting posted because I LOVE IT.
Once you get to the Rocky Horror/Captain America TFA, that’s when things start to take a turn.
And then there’s the “Anyelle” from the OUAT fandom.... where we shipped all of Bobby’s character’s with all of Emilie’s characters and THAT IS HOW YOU GET CANNIBAL PORN CHILDREN.
But... but Once Upon a Time really did me in. I crossed that shit over with The Santa Clause, Monster’s Inc, The 10th Kingdom, Stargate Universe, and Return to Oz.
Seriously? If it makes even the TINIEST bit of sense, I will fucking write it.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic? Yeah, but nothing horrific. Just your run of the mill stupidity.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? YES. Most of the time it’s pretty straightforward M/F. Sometimes it’s Cannibal. Sometimes it gets a little kinky.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen? YES. And it sucks. don’t do this.
11. Have you ever co-written a fic before? YES. Twice. I did an X-Files series with a friend who I’ve lost track of about Mulder and Scully getting drunk off their asses and hooking up, and then I did a forever-unfinished self-insert fic in the CSI universe. Neither of these are on my AO3 because I don’t have/never got permission to post.
12. What’s your all time favorite ship? ALL OF THEM. God... I don’t pick ships because they’re cute- I pick them because the CALL to me on a basic level. Mulder and Scully were my first love, Steggy is my latest, but these pairs- UGH. They all kill me and I will happily die with them over and over again.
13. What was the first fandom you wrote for? The first fandom I wrote anything on paper for was actually X-Files. I started writing stories before I knew fic was a thing on the internet. But I’d been writing episodes of Quantum Leap in my head long before I ever wrote that first (awful and will never see the light of day) X-Files fic.
14. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written? How can I answer that? Like, LITERALLY HOW CAN I ANSWER THAT? I love them all, and I am so proud of so many of them for so many different reasons!! Don’t ask me to choose amongst my babies. I can’t.
Ugh, this was crazy and so much fun.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT MY FIC I WILL TELL YOU ALL THE THINGS!

Hi Indy! I know Arkhamverse Riddler is definitely your specialty. Do you happen to have a rough ranking of Riddlers that you like from most to least? And which do you think is the most definitive version of the character?
I THINK that’s what my blog description says, anyway
Yes, at all times I have a rough ranking floating around in the back of my mind.  It is going to be very long so I will answer the last question first.
For most definitive version of Riddler I’m going to have to go with BTAS.  No recurring villain really had a distinct personality from their original (1940s) version, and while I am not knocking Frank Gorshin the 1966 Riddler absolutely was a bit Joker-y.  Most importantly (if I am not mistaken, which I could be), BTAS gave Riddler what became his most important trait: his intelligence.  Before that he was mostly an average weirdo who wore a green suit (sometimes) and liked riddles and sometimes built puzzle traps.  After BTAS, though, the Riddler’s intelligence became the driving force of his character.  Batman ‘66 saved Riddler from obscurity, but BTAS made him both relevant and future-proof.  Will we ever see a Riddler of average intelligence who doesn’t specialise in computer programming/engineering ever again?  I doubt it, and that’s because of BTAS.
Onto the list.  It does not include EVERY Riddler ever because I have not read every Riddler story ever, but it should cover most of them (or at least the ones you’ve probably heard of).
1. Anything Paul Dini wrote.  This actually covers a few different Riddlers, which would be the first two Arkhamverse games, the most notable PI Riddler stuff, and of course the Riddler from BTAS.  Paul Dini can write the Riddler as both being a bad person and sympathetic at the same time, which is actually harder to pull off than it sounds.  AND he does it without using backstory as a crutch, which really is hard.
2.  Jeph Loeb/Jim Lee’s Riddler from Hush.  He only actually appears for two issues, but it’s one of the best Riddler stories merely because it allows him to do all the things Riddler SHOULD be able to do, but can’t because then there would be no Batman comics because he would have ended them.  619C is also, in my opinion, the best Riddler cover of all time.
3. Jim Carrey’s Riddler from Batman Forever.  Why would I put him this high on the list, you ask?  Because some writers forget that the Riddler is half just in it to have a good time and he doesn’t really care about how other people perceive him.  This man is living his best life and he’s doing it in glittery spandex and a light-up jacket.  Is he over the top?  At the time, no, not really.  At the time Riddler kinda just acted like that.  And he should be able to do so, in my opinion.
4. Current Riddler (James Tynion IV).  While this Riddler has some issues with consistency (though this probably has to do with being shuffled from a main comic story into a Catwoman story), he returns to being almost self-cripplingly paranoid and absolutely losing it when he’s bested, which I think are important traits for Riddler to have.  I’m also actually really amused that they gave him the Batman Forever hair.
5. Batman ‘66.  While it did likely rescue Riddler from pending obscurity - he actually never appeared in a Batman comic before 1965, and before that was featured in only two issues of Detective Comics - and he definitely checks the ‘charming’ and ‘having fun’ boxes, there isn’t a whole lot differentiating him from the Joker he’s playing alongside.  If you watch the Batman ‘66 movie they’re almost the exact same character, just one likes jokes and the other likes riddles.
6. Hush Returns and its aftermath.  This stuff is weird and doesn’t make a whole lot of sense because it mostly involves Riddler running away from Hush and retcons certain things from Hush, most importantly the part where Riddler got everyone to work together because he gave them what they wanted.  Hush Returns (which also contradicts itself during the story) for some reason has everyone angry at Riddler for tricking them and it ends with him getting the shit beat out of him and puts him into a coma for a year, which leads into him getting total amnesia and becoming a PI.  That’s the reason it’s so high on the list.  The story is weird and makes no sense at all for any of the other characters in it either but it gave us a reason for PI Riddler and that makes it matter.  Sort of.
7. Brave and the Bold/The Batman Riddler.  I’m putting them both together mostly because BatB Riddler features in I think only one episode and he deserves a mention because he’s adorable.  TB Riddler was an interesting experiment into a Riddler that, for whatever reason, never really came into himself as a person and instead sort of enacts revenge for his existence on life.  If I remember correctly he’s also pretty low-key about his intelligence, which is another interesting character choice.  I respect the things they went for but this Riddler overall gives me the impression of a person who always says no when invited to something but gets upset when people stop asking which, while definitely something the Riddler would do, isn’t really my preferred take.
8. Snyder Riddler (New 52).  The problem I have with this Riddler is that I have no idea what his motivation even is.  I was told a long time ago that a backstory for him WAS written but didn’t make it into Zero Year because the story was already too long, which is... not a great look for a professional storyteller.  And because we don’t know anything about this Riddler, this story consists of a dude who wears green to impress women (which he never shows any interest in), gets the mob to work for him... somehow... and decides to spend a YEAR watching the people in Gotham die because... I’m not sure?  If it amused him, sure, I could understand that.  But he just seems super bored during the entirety of the story.  He doesn’t even seem particularly excited when Batman actually shows up in front of him.  Beyond Zero Year his appearances are, to my knowledge, limited mostly to two issues in Batman Eternal, where he’s hiding, three issues of The Flash, where he speedruns Zero Year and is undone by the Flash villains teaming up against him (which I don’t know enough about Flash villains to comment on), and Scarecrow 23.2, where he for some unexplained reason seems to look up to Scarecrow.  And then there’s Detective Comics: Future’s End, which is just the worst thing ever.  Snyder didn’t write all of these stories, but they are based on his Riddler.
9. Gotham Riddler.  I didn’t watch past season 3 so I can’t comment on too much after that, but the arc with Mad Grey Dawn and ‘I knew that you knew that I knew’ was some of the greatest Riddler stuff we had gotten in years and if they had just kept on with that they would have had one of the greatest Riddlers of all time.
10. Jeph Loeb/Tim Sale Riddler.  Full disclaimer I haven’t read Catwoman: When in Rome, but I have read The Long Halloween and Dark Victory.  The reason I don’t like this Riddler is because he actually bears no resemblance to him.  He’s a literal moron who just stumbles around incompetently for the duration of his relevance to the plot.  It’s like they decided to make an ironic Riddler who is actually stupid and also for the first time in his life does not have the ability to locate a tailor.  I don’t actually understand the point of this Riddler’s existence.  He isn’t even really Riddler, he’s just some sort of vaguely Riddler-coloured person.

My lovely lovely friend @psilord tagged me to do 10 faves in 10 fandoms and y’all know I’m always down for a good tag game so here’s my list!
1. Drake Mallard/Darkwing Duck. (I’m counting DWD & DT as one fandom bc it’s mostly the same people*). This man is depressed! And lonely! And then he finds himself a HUSBAND and a DAUGHTER!!! We love that for him!!! In the og he’s just a small bisexual disaster man and I have literally never in my life been more excited for something as I am for tonight’s special. He’s going to grow so much as a character and he’s gonna meet his little girl!!! The first and maybe ONLY superhero I haven’t been dissapointed with.
2. Nebula from GOTG. Instant fave when I first saw her bc she’s just a victim doing her BEST, okay? She should’ve been allowed to kill Thanos and she should’ve gotten a happy ending with her sister, and I haven’t been very active in this fandom for over a year but I’m still bitter about it! The TV series did her so much better and I implore all of you to at least watch the episode “Sisters Are Doing it for Themselves” because it filled the hole the MCU version left me.
3. Jason Todd from Batman comics. Angry boy. Deserves more love and an apology from every writer who’s participated in making the canon in the last couple years. I’m looking forward to getting a chance to explore his new content in that choose your own ending movie thing in the next little while because they have to treat him better somewhere in there, right? Right?
4. Venom! I surprised myself with how much I love him. Usually the sharp teeth and slimy exterior would be too off-putting to enjoy, but he more than makes up for it in bad decisions, good one-liners, and a really sweet dynamic with his (canon!) partner Eddie. Thank you for my rights, Sony.
5. Calhoun from Wreck-it Ralph. Please get this woman some therapy. I love me all the fluff that comes from that fandom and her dynamic with her found family tho!
6. Sora from Kingdom Hearts. Immense love for his dumb gay ass. I miss having a platform to play those games on every day. There’s something so sweet and magical about his love for his friends and his willingness to help everyone he meets.
7. Stitch from Lilo & Stitch. I was talking about this on discord the other day but I projected so hard on him as a kid. I just love his journey and I love that he never once stops being weird as shit, he just finds people willing to love him for as different as he is.
8. Cynder from Skylanders/Spyro/Skylanders Academy. Childhood fave turned comfort character but I don’t think I could explain to you why. She just fills me with joy.
9. Hollyleaf from Warrior cats. I know, I know, it’s really kind of an unspoken thing to love those books. But hear me out: I love her. I love her determination, and I love writing in that emotional sequence that led to her isolation. The Last Hope to this day makes me cry because of what happened to her.
10. Sadness from Inside Out. This one is probably pretty obvious why but I have to add her to the list anyway. It’s a good movie!
* - if I didn’t count them as one fandom I probably would’ve put Lena on this list also, idk where. She and Drake are about equal to me but the LGD hype is real rn.
As for tags I don’t actually know 10 people tbh so I’ll tag a couple, you don’t have to of course, only if you want, and then anybody else who wants to do it you can say I tagged you!

OTP tag game.
Tagged by @captainjowl. You know for sure than I'm struggling to pick only 10 & fit them in here. But hell, that’s fun, thank you <3
Tumblr media
Rules: Choose 10 OTPs BEFORE reading the questions, and then get to answering
1) Harry James Potter & Sirius Orion Black
2) Daniel Le Domas & Grace (Ready or Not 2019)
3) Samuel & Nathan Drake (Uncharted 4)
4) Corvo Attano & The Outsider (+probably Emily Kaldwin; Dishonored series)
5) Steve Grant Rogers & Bucky Buchanan Barnes (Marvel)
6) Tony Edward Stark & Peter Benjamin Parker (Marvel)
7) Handsome Jack & Rhys (Borderlands video game series)
8) Damon Salvatore & Elena Gilbert (TVD Books & a tv show)
9) Batman & Joker (in every universe, really)
10) Adam Jensen x Francis Pritchard (Deus Ex video game series)
1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 6?
I believe it didn't hit me before Spider-Man: Homecoming. Civil War was about Steve & Bucky for me, but when I saw that growing up Peter with Tony, their dynamic, chemistry. Tom & Robert are really just like that.
2. Have you ever read a fanfic about 2?
Lmao. I've read like 50% of the tag on AO3, I wrote my own & started a few wips on them. They are amazing. Plus, with that shitty canon? We didn't get enough of them & they deserved better, so it's only logical to save yourself with fanfiction.
3. Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr screen saver?
I was living with The Outsider icon on my twitter & tumblr. That one is still my Google profile picture I believe. Don't remember about having an icon with the two of them. Also had The Outsider as my lockscreen on my smartphone for a while.
4. If 7 were to suddenly break up today, what would your reaction be?
Funny how it fits canon, lmao. Rhys literally tried to erase Jack's AI in TFTBL, so I guess another day on Pandora, nothing new. They torture each other, they kiss each other, they kill other people in the process. It'll be fiiine.
5. Why is 1 so important?
I love them since the first time I met them, which was much more than 10 years ago, I don't even remember when. At some point they were the reason I was waking up & forcing myself to eat just to read more fanfiction & feel something. Even if I was drowning in pain (I was extremely depressed), it was still something. I read every fic I could find at that time. The depression that Harry went through, all these feelings, his love for Sirius. I was living through it, I could relate.
I'm currently drowning in these two again, though in a much healthier & happier state. I see their flaws & I know as much as I can. I see them differently as an adult. They saved me, they keep being my number one, I still consider making a tattoo of Padfoot/Sirius or of both Harry & Sirius together. I have many headcanons, ideas, I write fics about them. They are everything, you see? They were my choice when there was nothing, no one. They are HOME.
6. Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship?
Both. There goes the dynamic of Jack & Rhys: torture, fighting, flirting, a lot of trauma. I'd definitely say that they are wild and comical sometimes, but they are definitely serious. With the Asylum, the mental health issues. There is so much more to it, the complexity of their relationship. The struggle of loving who you probably shouldn't (but hey, when does it work like that?) Thinking about Tettlate's Batman, about Batman: Europa & how Joker was: "You must be crazy, putting me in charge of the plan, letting me decide. Okay, well..."
Nah, they are entertaining, but this is a serious ship.
7. Out of all the ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?
Are you kidding me? They are all the definition of CHEMISTRY. I'd say 5, but then go 2, 6, 7, 8. Come on. I'm not choosing. Most of they are WILD.
9. How many times have you read/watched the 10’s fandom?
The fandom itself? Idk. I found one of my favourite artists through this fandom. If it's about the characters themselves, I played the first game with the DLC from start to beginning, looking around every corner. Spent more than 60 hours in there. Watched a second game (my laptop can't run the game) and the DLC (obviously), since Francis is in the DLC & not in the main game. I have a tag for them on tumblr, I read fanfiction, I tried to write my own. I still follow Elias & want a third game. Elias liked my tweets about Adam and Jensen being an actual couple a few times. I'd say I interacted with all of this a lot? Still do, actually.
10. Which ship has lasted the longest?
5. Best friends since childhood, fought & died for each other, still found their way back to each other. "It would break your Captain's heart, to see what they did to you." That only the MENTION of Steve can pull Bucky out of this brain washing(ed?) state, distract him in the middle of a fight. When Steve died in the comics because of Sharon & Tony sent Natasha to take Steve's shield from Bucky because even Tony knew how much Steve means to Bucky. And Bucky was like: "Oh, I see what he did. Not happening!" Fought Natasha (that is his ex in the comics) & kept going for Steve's sake.
Well, you see the point, I can go on and on.
11. How many times, if ever, has 6 broken up?
They're not actually canon so none? They had a few fights: In Civil war (the comics), in Homecoming (the movie).  That only means that they’ve got history & love each other.
12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8?
As fierce Grace is, they wouldn't stand a chance against Damon & Elena. Those two had to deal with worst thing than brainless stupid zombies. On the other hand, if there were no alive humans to drink their blood... It's either an animal diet that Damon hates so much or I don't know? Still, they're faster & more powerful. Their bodies have advantage of healing the wounds as well.
13. Did 7 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?
From some people, yeah. Don't tell Athena, don't tell Vaughn, don't tell Fiona. Though Rhys wasn't very subtle about it & Jack just doesn't give a fuck. You will probably end up dead if you disagree or bore him, or if you're useless.
"I can take you to the top, but you gotta know where the top is" & Rhys doesn't tell anybody until Jack makes him the President for like whole 20 minutes lol.
Fiona & Sasha: "This can't be happening." Sure it can, darling.
14. Is 4 still together?
I have a headcanon about The Outsider finding Emily & Corvo after Billie frees him from the Void. He doesn't have anybody & they are his only friends aside from a potential friendship with Billie. And if we don't consider TOTO dlc, they definitely are! The Outsider visits them both when they sleep & takes them to the void sometimes. How could he not?
15. Is 10 canon?
Not really but also sort of? Let's say that they really care about each other in canon, despite Adam pushing Francis away because of his trauma & fear that Megan caused him. :/
16. If all 10 ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?
Can you imagine wizards fighting extremely powerful vampires? Superheroes with venom in their bodies that make them super strong with people that made a deal with the Devil himself (hi Le Bail)? 5000 y.o. God and his lover that share his powers and an augmented human protecting his tired IT guy? Combine mental health issues to that, Jack and Rhys with Batman and Joker. Corvo & The Outsider would probably slay them all as Corvo and Emily did in both games with entire islands, though it will still be a slaughter anyway.
17. Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 5’s ship?
All the fucking time, lmaooo. I’m not even talking about it.
18. Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond?
I feel like I already did with Steve & Bucky after many Marvel movies (we're not even mentioning Endg*me, I fucking died & was dead for full 4-5 months).
19. Do you spend hours a day going through 3’s tumblr page?
I used to do that a few years back, but not anymore. There is not much content since the trilogy is finished.
20. If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the ten ships to break up forever or else she’d break them all forever, which ship would you sink?
1 already went through it & fandom lives, so I'd say maybe 7? Rhys will find a way to bring Jack back & they are both so wild. It’s what happened in canon anyway. Jack kidnapped Lilith & forced her to do Angel's job, so I'd like to see that witch try at first. Jack is an immortal bastard. <3
Now that I think about it, Corvo would also deal with her in seconds as she waits to curse them.
As a conclusion: no one breaks up forever, we're killing the witch.
I tag: @ianmillkovichgallagher & @aledbr
Whoever else wants to join the game, please do.

Rabbit Town; BNA ep 2
 “Previous Post
Preface
My previous (and first) post of these BNA first impressions ended up being more rambly than even I want to be. Most of that was due to me retelling events, which I was actually doing to help me remember what happened in the episode. So instead, I’m going to try just going through the episode again in another tab and using timestamps (which I think is the norm for this sort of thing anyway.) This technically means I’ll be writing down my second impressions, but I’d really prefer my first watch of episodes to not be interrupted every minute by me needing to tab out and write something. I’ll still try to remember and write out my first impressions anyway.
(Hmm, Netflix doesn’t seem to provide a precise timestamp. Guess I’ll just approximate things by mousing over the...runtime...bar thing.)
Cold Open
0:15 Starting off right where the last episode ended: Michiru saying that she’s human.
0:22 Shirou says she’s a tanuki, based on the appearance of her tail. She seems offended by the idea. My best guess is that her reaction has to do with what tanuki are famous for: having huge balls. (Also they’re magical spirits, which may or may not have something to do with the powers Michiru has.)
0:45 The police arrive and it seems Shirou is a known entity. Gives me Batman vibes. Is Shirou a vigilante? And in that way where the police are just used to it by now?
Opening
0:50 The OP starts and I notice the strands of DNA. Makes me think of how Michiru apparently changed species, and also the way there is some pharmaceutical company behind the very existence of Anima-City. Oh, and I just got that “BNA” is basically a pun on DNA.
1:30 Last time I had recalled something about shadowy feral transformations, but it looks like Michiru transforms into something more equine than anything else. (With what I know from later in the episode, she definitely seems to be a shapeshifter, which I think is appropriate for a tanuki.)
1:40 Oh, and there’s still totally something about this vocal melody that reminds me of “Bad Apple.” Admittedly, it’s been years since I actually listened to that song, so maybe I’ll have to go compare them later.
Forms
2:00 A detail spoiled by the OP: apparently beastmen have human forms that they can switch to, yet Michiru can’t. Honestly, it sort of looks like she’s stuck in a halfway state—a kemonomimi for the most part, though with the nose and “mask”
2:10 Shirou appears surprised, and possibly skeptical, about Michiru being unable to switch forms, indicating that it is by far the norm to be able to do so
2:35 Ah, by the way Michiru speaks about it, switching forms seems to be common knowledge even among humans. Shirou says “Quit talking like a human” in response to the idea that they’re always in beast form, which means this is a common human misconception (and this comes up later as well, illustrating how Michiru really comes across as human in little ways).
2:45 Bystanders seem to be paying special attention to Michiru, likely to her form. (This sets up what happens later over her inability to assume a human form)
Cooperative
3:00 A lot about this scene speaks to me as a trans person: someone running tests that “prove” someone’s identity and insisting that what they see on the surface is all there is to the truth
3:35 Michiru says she must be afflicted with a “disease”, reminding me of the worries I had about a pharmaceutical company being behind the city and how there may be a darker purpose involving a “cure.” Unsettlingly, Michiru also isn’t far off from saying that being a beastman—the very existence of beastmen—is itself a disease. (Mind, she doesn’t literally say that, but based on things she says at the end of the episode, it may not be too far off from how she actually feels—right now.)
4:00 Back to trans stuff, this reminds me of how being trans was, as a whole, labeled as “Gender Identity Disorder”, categorized as a mental illness rather than a natural state of being. (Also, I’m currently building a headcanon of Michiru being a trans girl. Not only because of this stuff, but also due to how she reacted to being called a tanuki: I can interpret her as feeling gender incongruence/dysphoria over the big balls thing.)
4:30 Interesting that this is a “cooperative”. Are they technically not part of the government and are more independent than that? Or maybe the term means something else in Japan.
4:40 Again with trans feels. Filling out forms and needing to identify as something you don’t actually see yourself as
4:50 (Didn’t catch that my first time around: different blood types? Wonder if blood harvesting and blood mixing will be a thing. Remembering the kids that were about to be sold off... Might these things be connected?)
(Rather than making things shorter, this is just resulting in me going even more in-depth. Oh well. I guess I’ll just have to deal with it.)
5:10 Probably a bit of an exaggeration that you can’t get back anything stolen from you: says more about how this is a seedier place than the video in episode 1 let on. We sort of got that from Michiru being pickpocketed in the first place, but this lets us know that that wasn’t an irregular occurrence
5:30 (Also didn’t really absorb this my first watch, but it does make sense that Michiru has been sleeping outside while on the run. Doesn’t feel good to think about how she had to spend that time being scared of the humans around her.)
5:40 Kuro is a wonderfully round birb.
6:10 Michiru making the same connected that I made (and that the audience in general is probably expected to make) about Shirou potentially being that big wolf who was up on the rooftops
6:25 Michiru probably expected Anima-City to be the end of her struggles where everything would just be better and easier. Indeed, she is young and naive.
The Next Morning
7:20 While Michiru may be surprised by the “rule of the strong” here, it does work effectively in parallel with the focus that has been put on money (between these two episodes). The powerful get to do what they want, whether it comes from physical strength or financial power. When it comes down to it, the human world, under a capitalist framework, doesn’t behave all that differently
7:45 Oh, Shirou has some sort of direction connection with the mayor and/or the government. Is this what they meant by “social worker”? Is he some sort of government agent? Does he have the extrajudicial authority to just beat people up (and even kill them?) the way he did with those terrorists?
9:00 (Considering Marie’s apparent connection to Rabbit Town, she probably does have some connection to the pickpocket. But now that I’m making this connection... Did Marie bring those kids to Rabbit Town after they were separated from their parents by beastman hunters?)
Rabbit Town
9:25 My very first expectation with a place called “Rabbit Town” was something akin to “Little China Town”
9:35 Then it struck me as something of a red light district
10:00 And we learn what Michiru might have to deal with in the future for being unable to switch to a human form: more people may think she’s trying to pick a fight.
10:15 Saying that she’s “not some baby” indicates that there are people who can’t control their forms: young children. Or, perhaps, someone who hasn’t been a beastman for a long time. (Maybe she’ll figure it out when/if she gets back with the kids she helped rescue.)
10:45 (Struck by how “coincidental” it is that someone like Grand Grandma would end up with a random kid’s wallet. It’s making me think that the pickpocket and Marie actually funnel people into this person-trafficking ring)
11:15 With my early impression of Rabbit Town being some sort of red light district, I thought this was some sort of communal daycare. (But seeing it again, I’m noticing how stern these women are at seeing the children. Definitely doesn’t look like they care about the kids.)
11:20 The line about them being “women who were betrayed by men”, and the following lines, really fit in with my thinking that this was a red light district, and they probably just didn’t want to outright say these were sex workers. (And maybe some of them are, but it turns out to be far from the whole picture)
11:40 And it does seem to be the image they want to give to Michiru: that they’re a bunch of women struggling together with all of these kids to take care of. There was also a bit about “what it’s like to live as a beastman” which makes me think that it’s definitely the norm for beastmen to be poor—not a surprise since they are clearly an oppressed minority group
Literacy
12:05 Totally expected “Poop” to become the kids’ nickname for Michiru. (Glad it didn’t since it would have made it harder to really care about what happens later.)
12:50 Look at these cuties wanting to learn. (And sobering in retrospect to think how this is probably the most care and attention they’ve had in a while.)
13:10 I forgot to say something about it last episode, but the way Shirou’s sense of smell is visualized is amazing.
13:20 Again with the red light district impression, I was thinking this was the arrival of a pimp or something
13:40 I appreciate Michiru caring about what the kid is already doing instead of reprimanding them for not paying attention
14:00 So we learn about Silver Wolf, who could be the wolf Michiru saw when she arrived in the city. Since Shirou seems to be that wolf, does that mean he’s actually Silver Wolf? Is this an urban legend based on him? Or is he actually some sort of god?
Money
14:45 The demands of payment really played into my pimp impression, but then this guy mentions “letting these women be gangsters.” They could totally still be sex workers as well, but this clues us in that these women may be involved in shadier stuff
15:10 I wonder if the politics of these criminal groups will come more into play in the future. Wouldn’t be surprised if some of the villains we meet end up being allies by the end, considering the way Trigger tends to tell their stories.
15:35 “It’s all women are good for anyway” is an impressively disgusting line to tell us that they’ve been talking about selling the kids. Also, I wonder what it means for the mayor to know about the kids: that the government will be sending people to rescue the kids and shut them down...or that the mayor would be interested in buying...
15:45 The line about the kids being “snatched away” probably means the mayor, so probably not about buying the kids. Still doesn’t mean the “rescue” could end up being more nefarious than it would seem. (Look, I just don’t trust the head of a pharmaceutical company also being a mayor, especially when a video about the city was directly associated with the company instead of being its own thing.)
15:55 Given the earlier scene between Shirou and the mayor, and Shirou being here, I guess he’s something like the mayor’s enforcer? Her trusty hand that does what needs to be done? But I’d also guess that if the mayor is secretly a villain, Shirou has no idea
Trafficking
16:30 I immediately put together that these kids were probably separated from their parents due to attacks by those beastman hunters. (And earlier in this post is when I retroactively put together that Marie, or people with the same job, likely gave/sold the kids to Grand Grandma, if they don’t work for her directly.)
16:40 The rule of the powerful coming up again. This is the way this world (and our world) works. (Which I could go off on a political tangent about, but I’ll refrain for now.)
16:55 Michiru is an atheist. Or at least incredibly pragmatic. Not the most helpful thing to say to people who literally can’t do anything in this situation, but I appreciate the sentiment of actually doing what you can instead of hoping someone else does something about it
17:20 Hmm, no one seems too surprised about Michiru’s expanding tail powers. Maybe this is a relatively normal tanuki thing?
18:00 But the stretchy arms totally aren’t normal, even for a tanuki. Thinking about it, no one else has obviously shown any kind of powers yet. Shirou’s fight with the terrorists could have just been his physical prowess. Do these powers have something to do with Michiru’s transformation from human to beastman?
18:50 In case you didn’t catch on to everyone’s surprise, confirmation that what Michiru just did was very unusual.
19:25 Never a big fan of the “even if they’re women” line. They’ve been doing a very bad thing. Stopping them shouldn’t have anything to do with gender. Why even bring it up. But I guess it does play into Shirou being a masculine and “chivalrous” type of character, as well as this being a generally patriarchal society (which isn’t really any different from our world). (Thinking back to my post on the previous episode, I guess “this isn’t too different from our world” is probably the point that the pseudo-branding contributes to.)
20:00 It seems that Shirou’s relationship to the police is less like Batman, and more like he just outranks them.
20:20 “Facility” is such a cold and impersonal term that it really does make me worry about what the government is going to do with these kids. Again, pharmaceutical company. (I’ll make sure to go back to episode 1 and get a better look at the company’s actual name so I can use that. May as well if I’ll continue to make a big fuss over it.)
20:35 “Even though you’re a beastman, don’t you have a human heart?” is a horribly offensive question. I was initially going to refer to it as a microaggression, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized how terrible it is. It’s heavily loaded with the ideas: 1) beastmen are expected to be bad, hence the “even though”, and 2) being human is inherently a good thing. Despite what she said to Shirou at the end of last episode, it seems that she really just has the inverse of his beliefs. And this is so clearly something that only a human would say that it convinces Grand Grandma of Michiru’s “humanity”
21:20 Shirou, needing to wait for evidence before he can do anything, kind of illustrates Michiru’s point of view of not being able to count on society—on anyone else—to be able to help you.
21:30 Shirou, representing the police and government authority to an extent, believing that he “never makes mistakes” again reminds me of the protests we’ve had throughout this year. How the police totally does make mistakes—or rather, the way they don’t even view things they’ve done as mistakes—is totally a problem. (ACAB)
21:40 Following up on what Grand Grandma mentioned earlier about being “betrayed by men”, Michiru questions why it’s only “women and children” that Shirou is protecting. Is it that men don’t need to be protected? “What makes males so special? Are men really that great?”
21:55 And Michiru outright says what she had only implied earlier. Also, she seems a bit scattered between being angry at men, being angry at beastmen, being angry at the police, bring angry at society, and being angry in general. But I get it.
And that’s the end of the episode. I’m not sure if this is how I’ll continue to do these impressions, but I guess I’ll have to see how I feel about it once I get to episode 3. Maybe I’ll try out some genuine first-impressions, even if it means interrupting the episode constantly.

titans 2.01
so i just finished watching the episode in its entirety, and i have this to say right off the bat: our cheesy, scrappy, comic-booky, melodramatic-yet-weirdly-wholesome underdog superhero show is BACK, baby! honestly, this episode was a lot more... clunky than most of last season, but i think it worked well both as payoff to the themes and arcs set up in s1 as well as a set-up for s2.
(SPOILERS follow)
1. first things first: trigon is a terrible villain on his own merits, sure. one can scarcely believe that this is what eleven episodes of slow-burn, classic horror build-up was meant to lead to. his dialogue was cringey, his mythos made no sense, and he was defeated with little fanfare.
but you know what? trigon was never the point. just like the nuclear family, or even the phantom batman that haunted dick’s flashbacks, trigon was shorthand for toxic familial relationships, empty authoritarianism, being consumed by your worst self and calling it ‘freedom’. the battle was over the moment rachel rejected trigon’s gaslighting--the moment she realised she could be herself and still be happy and loved. it happened the moment rachel used her powers to give someone else the chance to realise that for themselves.
once that power has been taken away, what is trigon? nothing. and so he was dismissed by the merest shift in will on rachel’s part. he wasn’t given the slightest iota of sympathy--he was a malignant parasite that fed off the worst parts of others, and he was dismissed as such.
2. there were some honestly breathtaking moments that i believe were beautiful on paper but faltered in their execution. there was so much going on that would’ve looked so much more dynamic and consequential on, say, a comic-book page, with fancy text-boxes to give an insight into the characters’ mind, and a big, wonderful splash-page of the different heroes going ~dark eschewing the need to really build-up to it. on screen, however, there was a lot of standing around stiffly while trigon monologued evilly, and the black eye makeup and the washed-out lighting did them no favours. and remember the moment when dick caught rachel on the trapeze? it’s such a beautiful, loaded moment that i can see working wonderfully on a comic-book page, but comes off stilted on the screen.
but that’s part of the charm of the show to me, tbh. it’s literally a comic book come to life, with all of its attendant delights and frustrations.
3. i don’t understand why everybody is talking about the titans like they knew about the old team all along when the word ‘titans’ wasn’t mentioned once in s1.
4. dick smiled so much in the latter half of the episode, you guys! it really felt like he’d let a gigantic weight roll right off his shoulders, and his meeting with bruce wayne was everything i’d hoped for--an adult child (i realise that’s an oxymoron, but you know what i mean) returning to reconcile with his father, aware enough to realise the real damage that bruce had done to him, but mature enough to understand where bruce’s trauma ends and his own begins, and to let go of resentment--if not forgive him--and meet him as an equal. bruce isn’t a phantom anymore. he’s a man like any other--a father like any other. dick’s experiences with own fledgling family--his failure with them--has given him this precious, hard-earned perspective.
5. like i always say, don’t let the grimdark window dressing and all the cussing fool you guys--this corny, awkward show can be both ridiculously insightful in the way it seeks to reject one-sided, toxic relationships, and replace them with hard-won, healthy ones. it’s been over a season, and only now the titans are earning the right to call themselves that--because before becoming a team, they had to become a family.
6. all said and done, tho, as an episode of television, trigon is haphazard and stilted, the writing is patchy and the dialogue ranges from anodyne to cringey, and as a result, the acting and the choreography also suffer. i know the show is better than this; here’s hoping this faltering start is because of the production team’s decision to repurpose last season's finale as this one's premiere, and that the season will really come into its own from the next episode.

Ok review time. And remember, there is no war in Ba Sing Se.
My next request comes from my very good friend. The last time he and I sat down and tried to watch this was after we cleared through every episode of the animated series this movie was based on. We didnt get through ten minutes. So this was a fun, frustrating challenge. For those noticing, yes this is a retroactive review, instead of a "live" one. Reason for this is that as a fan it would be really difficult to be as objective as possible (given I already know this thing to be really bad) if I was distracted.
So what I know going in is that Shyamalan had a couple big flops and that he picked out this series to be his resurrection, thinking going the large scale epic route would be beneficial to his career. What happened was a ruthlessly infamous flop that resulted in nearly 6 years of silence, jokes, and memes prior to "Split" bringing Shyamalan back to relevance again.
First of all, this film could literally have been directed by anyone. Looking back at my review for Aladdin, I recall saying that I was shocked to find out it was directed by Guy Richey, because all of his hallmark signatures were missing. Same story here; The Last Airbender feels like a basic level cookie cutter epic filmmaking school project. Everything that makes a Shyamalan film is gone, which is crazy because the levity that makes ATLA (the acronym I'll use for the show going forward) is gone too. I have always said that as a director your job is to take what is written (which in this case was written by Shyamalan as well) and use your style to create a visual aspect that compliments the story told by the dialogue and events. Think of this writer/director relationship like one in comics between the writer and the artist. The artist is selected because stylistically he matches what is needed for the story. Great example of a good match is Sin City (picked because of loudness of its specific style). That story doesnt get told the same way or with the same impact with different color palettes, camera work, or actor direction. The Last Airbender is missing everything that gives a person a reason to select a specific director, especially one known for work in small scale supernatural thrillers.
The writing is.....super bad. There are a couple simple tools I like to use to identify if a film has scripting issues as opposed to anything else. First, is the dialogue done in a way that feels contextually natural? Do real people talk this way or is it written like shlockey, overly dramatic stage dialogue (think the Star Wars prequel trilogy)? Second, how easy is the story to follow? Are there gaping plot holes? Is it subtle with a good surprise? Does it hit you in the face with a story shovel with a handle made of heavy handed expositional dialogue?
Lastly, how hard are the actors trying to act around your script? Is it a good film where great performances outweigh poor to middling dialogue (Batman V Superman), or is it Bloodrayne? I've said enough on that, you get the point. That said, I am not sure the actors could have been saved by a better script. The cast was very poorly selected. Insensitive at worst (though I genuinely think the brown dude that insisted on the specific and coincidentally white folk he picked probably DIDN'T have a whitewashing agenda given what he said prior to release), out of touch with the source material at best, picking the virtual unknowns that he did really didnt pan out for him. The kid cast as Aang (pronounced AAng, goddamnit, not ONG, more on that later) got the role because he looks like the character, kind of, and only had a week of acting school worth of experience prior to filming the movie. Let's just say it definitely showed.
I am not sure TOTALLY crucifying the cast is entirely fair, so let's move the witch hunt to almost everything else. There is some good though, I promise so hang in there.
I really hope the editor got sent back to school. The purpose of editing is to make a cut that not only maintains but heightens interest in what you are watching. Cutting the fat in order to get to the point while not giving the movie away. Sometimes that means giving more than a 90 minute cut (which Shyamalan has taken at least partial responsibility for in this case) in order to preserve the story. There are scenes where the continuity from one cut to the next doesnt match up. Like consecutive cuts in one scene with massive distances traveled between cuts and even in at least one case a partial or complete costume change. It's extremely jarring. Something else about cuts--generally you cut to another angle or scene because the film requires you to in order to display more information that you wouldn't get in one single long cut. Usually a film has choppy cuts in it because the scene requires an character to do something the actor can't, or because the director or editor are bad at their job. The story, or sometimes in lucky cases just one scene, suffers as a result of bad or needless cuts. This is the case here. The strange thing is there are truly WONDERFUL long cuts of fight scenes that really suck you in, but the wierd juxtaposition between great non-editing and strange and bad editing really kicks you in the head. Enough on that. On to the next.
I did NOT see this movie in 3d. I understand that the conversion was really bad, but that said what I CAN speak to is the VFX. This film, with the exception of the lighting, was pretty well put together in terms of effects. There were really only a couple issues that were glaring in terms of VFX, but by and large it wasnt awful. There are definitely newer films that look worse. In standard. I dont know about 3d.
I think the thing that makes this film more frustrating than anything is that there are things about this movie I love. They are few and far between, but I really do love them. The intro was a really neat callback to the series intro to each episode. Then the movie happens. Then, the flying bison appears!! Then more movie. Then, a scene where Aang (not Awng) uses the glider in his staff. Then more movie. Then, all the practical martial arts, then, yet more movie. It's like this the entire way. Best comparison here? Green Lantern. It's like the Shyamalan said, "Hey, I like this and need a career boost.", then proceeded to cherry pick things from a beloved series and then ham and egged a movie with a confusing plot that absolutely requires you to be super familiar with the source material. There are a lot of assumptions made by characters in the movie that made sense given background provided by the show, but make absolutely none if you are going in blind. "Those are air bending tattoos, and I think he might be the avatar, despite he fact that I havent seen him bend anything and airbenders havent even been seen in over 100 years! Before my time!" Fucking come on. Throw the newcomers here a bone man.
The long story short here is I guess in spite of the casting decisions, editing, and direction, a good script could have made at least a fun movie. This movie should not have made it past script in the form we all saw it though, and it makes one wonder how much pressure was on everyone involved (almost all of it internally applied, Shyamalan did this project almost entirely on his own volition and cast a bunch of almost unknowns with the exception of maybe Cliff Curtis, so of course they said yes) to join in and take part in this without asking questions. Its upsetting to know the original showrunners were as ostracized as they were on this thing.
I dont see myself going back. Yes there were things that made me smile a little, but the film as a whole is so overwhelmingly bad in the face of those things it is just not worth it. I AM however going to go and rewatch the series with my wife and the kids for their first time, and maybe as a result of having to sit through this war crime of a film adaptation.
Final Verdict? I give it a D-. Purely out of respect for the very small handful of things I did appreciate. Next up?? The Lobster. Really looking forward to that one.

Okay I’m gonna get a lot of hate for this, but oh well. Let’s talk about Star Wars.
Look the sequel trilogy has been getting a lot of hate and well... ehhh I get it... Rey has a lot of problems, and Kylo is a little bitch, and Luke... Luke has depression.
But I’m gonna be honest here, the majority of complaining I hear is this accusation that Disney is just trying to push some PC liberal agenda because the main characters are a woman and a black guy... And sure agenda+ bad writing is annoying, but this started before we even knew who the woman and the black guy were... I was hearing “I will never watch Star Wars again” when Episode VII was announced without any further details, and I’m starting to think the star wars hate is hilarious because it’s just... stagnant toxicity...
A lot of you guys are basically mad because it isn’t Legends, and seriously I’m tired of this “Liberal agenda” argument. You wouldn’t call Rey a mary sue if she was a white boy. Seriously you wouldn’t. Except for having basic force abilities she’s done literally nothing. You can’t be both an irrelevant observer and a mary sue...
but no what I really think is funny, and what I’m really gonna get hate for is this... People seriously hate the sequel trilogy, but a huge portion of the Legends timeline is a bunch of fanfiction blatantly unkilling everybody who died in Episode 6 how is that much better?
Luke going to the dark side, the yusong vong, the Solo children? all of that is interesting... but these plots where Boba Fett escapes his death and fights vader because he’s batman Boba Fett, and Darth Maul surviving being cut in half because he’s Batman Darth Maul are kinda... Look I like both characters and what was done with them, but any time I hear “But he didn’t die” I’m imagining a child complaining while playing pretend.
and then there’s an entire series about them Cloning the Emperor and bringing him back to life, and Luke fighting the Emperor again... and the fans want this to happen in Episode 9, but also say Disney doing it is just backtracking to appease the fans... and seriously, bringing the Emperor back to life would just make all of Return of the Jedi completely pointless.
Legends Continuity is not objectively better.
The movies also aren’t that good, but the real problem is that a lot of the fanbase has their standards set too high. You’ll never get the perfect movie, just get over it and stop being hateful towards the rest of the community.

DCAU #9: The Forgotten
“I claim this land…for Spain…”
This is an episode where you can get a pretty good idea of how you’ll feel about it from the title card sequence alone. With that music and all. Yeah, it doesn’t really feel like the show we’ve been watching, does it. But what says more about it than the music or that fence is the title. The Forgotten is right.
Tumblr media
SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT
Villain: Biggis Robin: No Writers: Jules Dennis, Richard Mueller, Sean Catherine Derek Director: Boyd Kirkland Animator: Dong Yang Airdate: October 8, 1992 Episode Grade: D
The more I think about calling this episode forgettable as a pun on its title, the more I’m not sure if that’s really accurate. In some ways it is, especially when looking at cartoons as a hole. But when looking at specifically Batman The Animated Series? Well, it is certainly one of its kind, and it also has enough stupid stuff going on in it to stand out in my mind. Before watching this one, I was thinking, “Maybe this episode is better than I remember”, but no, I remembered pretty much everything as it happened. Bruce scouting the area dressed as someone a little more down on their luck, Bruce getting kidnapped, Bruce forced to be a slave, the villain, the mind segments, the Joker bit, the Alfred parts, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Yeah, I don’t like this one.
Before I truly start complaining, what does this episode do right? Char and I agree, Bruce is a sweetheart. She brought up a great point, where even though Bruce Wayne might be a facade, his morality and generosity are not. He is very much doing what he believes in, despite how the city may see him. In the series bible, the writers mention how they planned on having Bruce hide his generosity through things such as dummy companies so that people would suspect him of being Batman even less. I’m not sure how I feel about this, but Char is glad that they didn’t so much go this route. I think that being a billionaire is enough of a spotlight, personally, and whether you act generous or snobby won’t really affect whether or not people think you’re Batman.
Also Alfred is again showing how great of a character he is. Alfred was in the Secret Service, so it makes sense that if he ever had to step up and take some things into his own hands, he would very much be able to. We see that here, with him sneaking around and placing a tracker on the villain’s truck, and then even managing to fly the Batwing (albeit not nearly as smoothly as our Dark Knight), finding Batman’s location and setting things up for Batman to kick some ass.
And then, overall, this was a really ballsy episode. We have a cartoon that lots of children watched, and we’re also not even ten episodes in, but they decided to do an episode that for much of it not only has our hero captured and not in costume, but also not even knowing who the hell he was. In a lot of ways, taking chances it was made this show so great. Not all of them are going to work, and I think that a few missed targets are worth the blindfolds sometimes. That being said, many times when the DCAU misses, it unfortunately really misses.
Onto what bothered us. The episode started with what seemed like a statement about no one caring about or even noticing homeless people, but that aspect was almost completely abandoned by the end. We think that they could have gone further with this. And while it is good that they weren’t trying to shove something down our throats and be really obvious about it, it still seems like a half finished opportunity. From my understanding there is an episode much further down the DCAU called Frozen Out which will deal much more with this topic, and I am looking forward to seeing how they end up saying what they want to say about that.
The villain was also just…well, unpleasant. I get that he was meant to be, I do. And I also know the backstory behind why he is how he is, at least in the context of writing. Writing one off villains can be tough, because you still want them to be memorable. To make this guy memorable, they decided to make him a disgusting, slobby glutton who, to quote Char, even sounds fat just by his voice. This is a problem because, one, we just had a villain a few episodes ago who essentially ran a group of slaves and feasted right in front of them. So this guy is already less unique. Also, if you’re going to try to make a villain memorable, maybe he shouldn’t be memorable for all the wrong reasons. I do not particularly like being reminded of some sweaty greasemonkey constantly firing off the deplorable sound waves of sloppy chewing noises. You add in the fact that this type of character has been done to death, and I just don’t really understand the thought behind Biggis, who’s name is even incredibly uncreative. Maybe Triple G would have been a better name. Generic, greedy glutton (Char came up with that). Geez! Let the character’s personality or something more interesting allow them to make an impression. This guy just makes a literal impression.
Then we have the memory factor. Having Batman lose is memory is not a bad idea inherently. Also, stripping him of his suit and gadgets is also not a bad idea. But it had better be written really well. And this just isn’t. Think about what makes Batman who he is. He childhood trauma that he went through at a very young age, and managed to swallow up his feelings, his morality, his purpose, and his overall being. You’re telling me a blow to the back of the head like that is going to erase all of it? And while his memory is gone, he’s not speaking in his Batman voice, he’s using his Bruce Wayne voice. Knowing that his Batman voice is the voice that he typically uses when he’s not portraying the playboy character, it bothers me a little. And there’s really nothing distracting me from it aside from some guy dribbling chicken grease down his chin, so it’s like, I’d better pick one of these to focus on!
We didn’t really go far enough with his backstory, internal conflict, or imagery to make the dream sequences very encapsulating either, as they went by very quickly, and we really just kinda skimmed the surface of things. Plus that Joker voice…yeah, that was no Mark Hamill. Maybe they were trying to go for an approach where Bruce Wayne’s voice was coming from the Joker to represent…I don’t know, something inside of himself, but I didn’t care for it, whether it was that, or just the fact that they didn’t wanna get Mark in for a single line (at that point he wasn’t the definitive Joker voice he is today). But the stupidest thing about Bruce Wayne’s memory or the dream sequences? As soon as he reaches the conclusion that he’s Batman, he manages to escape the trap that he’s in…by simply kicking it open. Like, what? He had to know he was Batman to do this? Remember, subconsciously, he knows he’s Batman throughout the episode. His mind keeps trying to tell him. But also, regardless of what excuse one may come up with for why he didn't (like that he didn’t realize how strong he was, or that he didn’t think he’d be able to fight his way out once he did escape), it’s lazy writing! The episode was inspired by the idea of taking away his gadgets and leaving Bruce to have to come up a solution that’s a little more down and dirty, but they did nothing with it aside from having Bruce kick and then fighting pretty much just as he would if he had the costume on. And pretty soon he does regain his costume anyway, so it’s like? Just another way that this episode was basically wasted. Not enough creativity or commitment went into it. As I said, this idea needed good writing, and thinking completely outside the box. Instead we get a pre-existing, lesser version of the book/movie Holes.
Char liked the episode a little bit more than me, but not a lot, and overall agrees. The side characters stood out to her, as did Alfred’s antics, Bruce’s values, and that incredibly gruesome brazen bull. She liked some things, but very specific things, and it didn’t exactly all piece together. So I think if this episode does end up as the forgotten, neither of us will complain all that much.
Fire count: 6 Char’s grade: C Major firsts: Alfred saves the day, an episode mostly featuring Batman without the costume.
Next time: Be A Clown
Full episode list here!
By the way, as of uploading this, it is Christmas Eve. To my fellow Christmas-celebrating readers, have a wonderful holiday!

Nobody Asked for it, you got it
 Fic Recommendation list :D
Like the title says no one really asked for it, but I felt in the mood to do one so why not? Lots of fandoms are here, so feel free to read through and see what there is that catches your interest ^^
There are links to both FanFiction and ArchiveOfOurOwn ;)
Minecraft: Story Mode Movie Mode - The first Watching the Game fic on FF (and one of the only 3), Movie Mode is a well written fic by @Toni4eyes, who captures the characters in an amazing way. In-Progress
The Return of the Lost - If you’re favorite episode is 6, then this little capturing moments of Stampy, Stacy, and Dan’s lives is absolutely for you. It’s very sweet, and though it’s currently only six chapters long, this fic by MitziRae is sure to capture you hook-line-and sinker
Building Blocks - If you love imagining the Old Order adopting the New Order, than look no further than this fic written by @raintagwasalreadytaken. Honestly, all of her fics deserve to be on this list, but due to conservation of space I’ll just link this one and let you guys discover the rest of her works on your own
Hybrid: Cinematic Mode - Similar to Movie Mode in the fact that it’s a watching the game, this piece by @arizaluca is simply stunning. Featuring the gang watching, not the original game, but in fact an alternate universe of Ariza’s (a hybrid universe).
Rebel of Sky City - You love writing or drawing that Sky AU for MCSM AU Month? Then Rebel of Sky City, written by shielddrake42 needs to be your next stop. Featuring Jesse, the daughter of Isa, and Lukas, the son of Milo. Need I say more?
Fingerpainted Bruises - Also by @toni4eyes, unless you’re like CaptainSparklez and think Radar is evil (still laughing about that from his walkthrough btw) then stay away. But if you’re like the other 99% of mcsm s2 players, and think Radar is a precious bean whom Jesse should adopt to make Ivor a grandpa, then you MUST read this fic, as well as its sequel Makeshift Band-aids
Danny Phantom
Jack’s Wish - Who doesn’t love a good reveal story? Well this one, although perhaps not the BEST written, is still one of the best plots I’ve seen.
Frequency - Yup, another reveal fic. Expect it from me alright? I’m freaking addicted to them. This one has a bit more of an eavesdropping plot, but it’s still pretty good.
How to Train Your Dragon
To Start Anew - Hasn’t been updated in three years, but it’s time travel. Nuff said.
Justice League (the cartoon, not the new movie)
Privacy - It’s cute, just...just read it alright?
Legend of Zelda
Dimensional Links - Ever want all of the Links to meet up? Wish granted right here. It was updated this year so I THINK it’s still going, but don’t quote me on that.
The Wolf - The fic you all wanted the moment you played/watched Twilight Princes, even if you didn’t know you wanted it.
Warriors
Different - A fox growing up as a cat, learning she’s a fox, and all hell breaking loose. I’ve been reading this fic since my early days on FF (when i was twelve.)
Tigerclaw’s Second Chance - Exactly what it sounds like, a Time Travel piece in which Tigerclaw is given a chance to change things
Resilience - This is a really good fic involving a Windclan kit being taken to Riverclan, becoming a medicine cat, and lots of other crazy things.
Young Justice (show not comic)
That Torturous Thing Known as Time Travel - Read somewhere private so WHEN you start laughing, no one thinks your crazy ;)
Look into the Future - Exactly how it sounds
Marvel Cinematic Universe
Weaver of Silk and Dreams - There are no words that can properly describe this amazing alternate universe, so just go and read it for yourself.
Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir
The Marinette Project - Pure fluff and romance involving MariChat, Adrienette, Ladienette, and LadyNoir. Quite possibly the best and sweetest Ladybug fic I’ve read. Bring your toothbrush.
Coco
Remember Not to Forget - READ. THIS. IMMEDIATELY AFTER WATCHING COCO! THIS NEEDS TO BE THE SEQUEL!!!!!!!
I’m into Fitness - ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Movie Night - Kinda rushed, but still hits all the right points. Also (as far as I’m aware) the first watching the movie fic for this fandom, so give it some slack ;)
Trolls
Piece by Piece - Single Gray Dad AU that is just the cutest thing ever <3
Move on Up - The ending is really rushed (at least for me) but this is a really cute Breek fic (branch x creek) and a really clever soulmate au
Ninjago
Blood is Thicker than Water, but so is Sludge and Tar and the horrible coffe dad tried to make one time - Do I really need to say anything?
The Pain in our Tears - Just a cute little headcanon that I totally agree with
Crossovers
They’re Us -- Young Justice meets Justice League. Hasn’t been updated in a while, but still worth your time reading.
Lean on Me - Smurfs Meets Trolls, with the cutest crossover pairings to ever exist. 66 Chapters and still going strong. (does have some chapters you may want to skip, but there ARE alternate versions on FF)
Bluetiful - The inspiration for Lean on Me, this is probably the only Smurfs meets Trolls fic rivaling with Lean on Me for best fic award.
Green Ninja - All of the Lego Movie worlds combined (Lego Movie, Lego Batman Movie, and Lego Ninjago Movie) focusing on Lloyd (green ninja) and Ma and Pa Cop. It’s much better than I make it sound ;)
Brick by Brick - Teen Titans meets Young Justice, in the form of mind-swapping.
Whooo that’s a ton of fics xD Took literally over an hour to write this lol

completely subjective and probably inaccurate ratings of gotham seasons, given i stress-watched the show in the 2 weeks before exams started and did not pay very close attention
Season 1
Pros
Jim and Harvey bro-ing it up with some very touching moments
Peak noir aesthetic
Bby Penguin’s first rise to power
Fish
Cons
Barbara
Relatively few superpowers or signature Looks among the villains (compared to later seasons)
A lot of plot threads were introduced and then forgotten about as the writing found its feet
Tried to take itself seriously while also doing batman stuff, so instead of coming off as wonderfully cheesy it was just slightly off
Fucked over some characters that were apparently important in the comics
Scores
Quality: 6/10 - good-looking police procedural with inconsistent writing
Fun: 7/10 - Penguin, Fish, and Harvey did their best, but Jim’s relationship drama was annoying and there was a lot of second-hand embarrassment
Emotional pull: 5/10 - I remember enjoying Harvey’s relationship with corruption and with Jim and Penguin’s rise to power, but the fact that I can’t remember much means that there probably wasn’t much that grabbed my attention
Season 2a
Pros
Jerome and Babs were a lot of fun
oh Penguin, what have you done
some actual putting corruption in context
the start of a beautiful/awful friendship
Babitha
Cons
Galavan and the order were pretty boring
couldn’t bring myself to care about Bruce’s plotline
Scores
Quality: 5/10 - less of an effort made to keep it coherent
Fun: 8/10 - a bit more wackiness
Emotional pull: 8/10 - I have a certain fondness for my awful son
Season 2b
Pros
Finally, we get the full weirdness factor coming from the villains
rise of the riddla
Lucy Foxy
Cons
The whole ‘each villain is introduced, dies, and is resurrected by strange’ got pretty formulaic
brainwashed os is not as fun as regular os
Scores
Quality: 6/10 - in firm comics territory, which makes some of the weirdness more acceptable
Fun: 8/10 - more weirdness, but not enough of penguin killing people
Emotional pull: 8/10 - the thing with Lee is sad, the van Dahls had it coming
Season 3a
Pros
Val Vale
Gordon on a bender
My boy being officially in charge of the city for like 3 months
Fisssshh is back for like an episode
You Know What
the World’s Worst Relationship drama
Babs taking control of the city
decisions are shown to actually have consequences
the return of jerome
Bruce and Alfred’s relationship
Cons
The mario plotline is so boring
the isabella plotline is a fucking mess. seriously, in a world with indian hill and a plastic surgery ring, they can’t possibly address the lookalike factor?
tetch is annoying and so is his virus
Vale gets shafted
Court of Owls is boring
Scores
Quality: 7/10 - I have no justification for it but it feels smoother than seasons 1 and 2
Fun: 9/10 - the villains are having a field day
Emotional pull: 9/10 - Gordon’s pretty broken, Bruce doesn’t have fun at the carnival, Penguin tells his crush how he feels and literally dies
Season 3b
Pros
Ivy’s brief stint as a regular-ish character (unlike Ivy 1.0) with an actual personality (unlike Ivy 3.0)
Ivy and Oswald’s partnership that could have been so fun if some people have let it
Freak fam
3x15
Os conning Riddler magnificently
Ra’s
Cons
Are we still dealing with the Tetch virus?
Court of Owls still boring
Not much new compared to the first half
Babs and Tabs break up definitively
Scores
Quality: 7/10 - ditto
Fun: 8/10 - Oswald and Nygma are in fine form
Emotional pull: 8/10 - mostly flat but the high points (Riddler’s episode, Fish’s (second) death, and Bruce’s struggle) sell it
Season 4a
Pros
Lee on a bender
Martin being cute
The Sirens
Zsasz (and Headhunter) having some fun
Cons
Most of my favourite relationships/dynamics fall apart or are kept in separate plots (Jim and Harvey, Bruce and Alfred, Bruce and Selina, Os and Ed)
Penguin and Sofia’s plot seems like a cut-price season 1 and frankly, it does not make sense
Jim and Harvey are each just a bit too self-righteous
Bruce. ugh
How many Eds? We just don’t know! The writers keep making up new personalities as we go along!
Ed/Lee (yes, yes, the actors have chemistry and the partnership is interesting but romantically? yeugh)
the whole thing is more of a buildup than a proper plot
Score
Quality: 6/10 - just a bit bland
Fun: 6/10 - downright boring
Emotional pull: 6/10 - again, it has none of the things I signed up for or expected

guess what buddy??? do all of them. from the one you reblogged from me
I should’veexpected that, but I’m a weenie. I’d already answered a couple of them but Ican’t think of a better use of my afternoon at work so let’s do this thing.
1.Do youwant a boyfriend or girlfriend?
I dunno, I’mstill getting used to the whole being asexual thing and am just not a fan oftouching in general. I would love the shit out of new friends though. Neverturn down the opportunity to make friends.
2.When didyour last hug take place?
Maybe amonth or two ago, housemate was going through a tough time with his most recentex and I think it was just like a floodgate had broken in him and it physicallyhurt me to not comfort him and I knew there wasn’t anything I could say to makehim feel better … So I hugged the shit out of him.
3.Are you ajealous person?
A coupleyears ago, yeah I was pretty bad. Then I started figuring shit out about myselfand I’m a lot more chill now.
4.Are youtired right now?
Combinationof poor sleeping habits and a near constant level of stress has left me lookinglike I have two black eyes. We had some corporate pictures taken last year andI looked fucking alien after they’d photoshopped them out.
6.Have youever been called a tease?
I don’tthink so, at least not in the way I think this question is supposed to betaken.
7.Have youever been awake for 48 hours straight?
I have. A coupleof years ago I wrecked my back and ended up not being able to move for maybe aweek or two without excruciating pain and because I tend to wriggle around inmy sleep you can bet your arse that didn’t happen. I ended up watching a lot ofvery bad movies on Netflix and shaving my head due to delirium.
8.Do you cryeasily?
No. I am anemotional fortress except when it’s someone elses pain. Then I’ll cry myfucking eyes out.
9.Whatshould you be doing right now?
I’mliterally at work, surrounded by developers and one very annoying sales personfrom interstate. There are so many things I should be doing right not. But I’malso here for 2 hours after everyone leaves so I get a chance to rocket througheverything without distraction.
10.Are you aheavy sleeper?
If I amtired enough, satan himself cannot awaken me.
11.Do youthink you can last in a relationship for 6 months?
I amentirely unsure. It would depend on what the other person wanted out of therelationship. If it was a completely non sexual relationship than hell yeah. Superfriendship, technically I’ve been doing that for the past 5 years since I movedto Melbourne.
12.Are youmad at someone right now?
Nah, I neverreally get mad at people. I got better things to waste my very tiny well ofemotions on.
13.Do youbelieve in love?
Hell yeah.Love is super rad and I’m glad I’m finally getting to express that for people.
15.Who wasthe last person you talked to?

16.Do youget butterflies around the person you like?
No? But thenI’ve never really experienced the whole thing where you see someone and feelnervous. Either I’m hanging out with people I’m already comfortable with or I’mmeeting new possible friends. There is no in between.
17.Will youget married?
Unless itwas for some kind of tax benefit … eh probably not.
19.Doesanyone like you?
I have noidea. Sometimes when I go out with friends, they’ll say something afterwardsabout how so and so was trying to flirt with me and I have to really thinkbecause fuck I thought they just really wanted some nachos or something.
20.Do yousecretly like someone?
Not in theway this question is thinking.
21.Who wasthe first person you talked to today?
My Manager, big bearded Englishman named Rob who likes to shitstir almost as much as I do.He’d called me over to try and look into why something was duplicating and alsoto confirm if we could charge a client $10,000 for something.
22.Who doyou feel most comfortable talking to about anything?
Housemate, but I’m always open for conversation.
23.What areyou NOT looking forward to?
Trying toget in shape so I don’t die in the next 5 years.
24.What AREyou looking forward to?
Getting asweet robot body because I lived that far. Also when people start talking aboutsomething they’re really passionate about, I live for those moments.
25.Hassomeone of the opposite sex ever told you they loved you, and meant it?
Probably? All my partners were great people and there was always a connection there. So I’dassume it was genuine.
26.Supposeyou see your ex kissing another person what would you do?
Think “goodfor you” and then keep going unless they wanted to catch up.
27.Do youplan on moving out within the next year?
Nah, myhouse is awesome. Needs some repairs, but it’s great.
28.Are you aforgiving person?
I try to be.I used to be really angry and confused about a lot of stuff, but as I’ve gottenolder I’ve realised that holding onto grudges is just draining and you getnothing out of it.
29.How manyTRUE friends do you have?
How the crapdo I qualify a true friend? Like, do I know they physically exist and have seenthem with my own eyes? I dunno 10?
30.Do youfall for people easily?
I genuinelyhave no idea how to answer this.
31.Have youever fallen for your ex’s best friend?
Here’s apoem I wrote after people were getting defensive because I didn’t want to fuckany of the characters from Mass Effect.
I will notfuck them out in space, I will not fuck them based on race.
I will notfuck them here or there, I will not fuck them anywhere.
I will notfuck them in a bed, I will not fuck them like I said.
It’s nothingpersonal for you see, my dude = asexuality
32.What’sthe last thing you put in your mouth?
Waterbottle, gotta love me some o that delicious h20
33.Who wasthe last person you drove with?

34.How latedid you stay up last night and why?
Like 1AM.Was chatting with a friend about the latest episode of critical role they’dfinished and they were feeling things.
35.If youcould move somewhere else, would you?
Nah, I’mgood where I am.
36.Who wasthe last person you took a picture of?
Besides thestupid selfies I occasionally take, I think it was a cricket player on abillboard who I thought looked like someone made a wax version of Ryan Reynoldsand left him out in the sun
37.Can youlive a day without TV?
Yeah sure, that’s one of the reasons I took up knitting.
38.When wasthe last time you were extremely disappointed?
Mid Novemberlast year, Paul Dini, the dude who helped create the animated batman series wasgiving a talk in the city and I completely spaced on getting a ticket. Would’vebeen great to meet him and hear him talk about writing.
41.What isyour all-time favorite romance movie?
I dunno.Maybe Porco Rosso. Helps you learn that sometimes you just need to say nobecause people are shit.
42.Do youbelieve that everyone has a soul-mate?
Yeah, Iguess. I think there’s someone out there who you just click with. Sometimes there’smore than one, you just need to keep looking.
43.What’syour current problem?
The clutchon my bike will occasionally not come in all the way when I’m trying to go fromfirst to second and gets stuck in neutral so I need to completely let it go andthen reengage. Drives me nuts.
44.Have youever had your heart broken?
Nah, I’m toomuch of a weenie and try to reconcile all my relationships.
45.Yourthoughts of long distance relationships?
I think they’relessened with the internet and social media because you can still talk soeasily and while I don’t have the whole “I miss being physically around you”thing I can understand it would be hard to continue with the shade of someonethat comes from a long distance relationship because there’s so much you wouldmiss.
46.How manykids do you want to have?
Not a fan ofthe whole baby making thing, wouldn’t mind adopting 1 or 2 if I ever had thechance though.
47.Have youever found it hard to tell someone you like them?
Nah, Ialways went for friend level first and then because of things I never reallyunderstood at the time just ended up going on dates that I thought were justlike friends hanging out and then things happen and I end up going out on moredates and then things happen. *shrugs*

ooh new questions from @stonewashedearthtones
Rules:  Always post the rules, answer the questions given to you, then write 10 questions of your own, and tag some friends!
1. What’s one sentence or a short passage that you read, and that stands out in your mind?
the “gay and innocent and heartless” line from peter pan probably, or the adult wendy looking at peter and a voice in her head crying out “woman, woman, let go of me”
2. How do you feel about Marmite (and/or Vegemite)? How do you feel about my love for Marmite?
im not sure ive had either, u can love marmite if u want i wont stop u
3. What is your most watched movie? TV show (specific ep if possible)?
its gotta be either treasure planet or inception for the movie, ive seen both of those just an obscene number of times. firefly is the show ive rewatched the most times, i think specifically the episode “shindig” bc kaylee and river are delightful in it
4. Favorite plant?
that frondy thing we got at home depot the other day. its big and beautiful and fluffy and i love it very much
5. Most disappointing piece of media you have consumed?
i read a scifi novel i picked up for fun at the library in high school called hex by rhiannon lassiter and while it may or may not have jumpstarted my love for shitty cyberpunk, it was honestly the worst book i have ever read. like not even in a fun way. the word ‘unhesitatingly’ was used in a completely serious context
6. Favorite type of cookie?
oreos like cmon
7. What’s the most condescending, intellectual, snooty, and/or otherwise douchey thing to say?
‘but you wouldn’t know about that’ or ‘but you wouldn’t understand it’
8. If you didn’t have to work or earn money, how would you spend your time?
writing dumb rp shit with my friends probably, which would only work if they also didnt have to work to earn money lol
9. TV Show or other serial with the best theme song?

we do have a baymax plushie that i brought back from china that i like very much and i do love the appa plushie. but if i could have like literally any plushie i could conceive of..... i think it would have to be a very very large like taller than me plushie of the red lion from voltron. like what would make a better plushie than a huge sentient robot cat

Hey unrelated topic(Sorry) But did you see the Series Finale of Tmnt 2012 it takes place 50 years in the future not alternate(Wikipedia is not a reliable source) But it ended so sad and sweet at the same time and what were your thoughts?
Don't be sorry! I do enjoy other things besides what I write about, including Ninja Turtles! That being said, I have not had a chance to see it yet, but it's on my list of things to catch up on. However, I DID get to watch the crossover with the 87 Turtles with Bebop and Rocksteady and man, that was fun. I love Turtles Forever with my two biggest problems with it being the lack of the 87 cast (which I get the reasoning behind, but man, Dan Green is no Cam Clarke) and just how stupid the 87 Turtles were (like, I get it. They do act SUPER goofy in Seasons 4-6 before the Shredder blows up Channel Six and they retool the show to emulate BTAS a bit, but they weren't complete idiots all of the time). I loved this set of episodes and I was really damn impressed with Kevin Michael Richardson's James Avery impression. You could still tell it was him if you have a trained ear, but he pretty much nailed it.Plus I will always love any appearance of the Technodrome. I remember reading the IDW Comic when they revealed it and doing a literal fist pump, which is something I rarely do while reading a comic (Though I did do that recently when I read the words "Barbatos" in the Dark Nights Metal book from a few weeks ago. Anything that touches upon Grant Morrison's run of Batman is great in my book).
