Labyrinth had a special place in my childhood, and I tried to share it with my partner recently… and idk something about a 39 year old wizard kidnapping an infant in order to persuade a 15 year old into marrying him just did not age well…

I mean he was supposed to be the bad guy. Antagonists are allowed to be problematic… but its pretty uncomfortable to go back and watch a character considered to be a heart-throb pining over a 15 year old, and I have no idea if that was the point the whole time…

Had a dream where Johnny from “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” came out as a trans woman and the response was so unanimously positive it reversed nearly all of the transphobic bills in the South. She played live in Georgia to an audience of about a third of the US.

So since tumblr has a HUUUUGE anti-chrome community, I have a question. Topic: YouTube music desktop.

I use YouTube music because I pay for ad free YouTube already for my autistic partner and don’t wanna pay for Spotify on top of that… I also play games, and am a complete and utter tab goblin, so I want a way to open up JUST YouTube music while gaming.

Did some light googling and discovered that while there isn’t an official desktop app, you can go onto Google Chrome or Edge and “install YouTube music as an app by going to the website and clicking install app.”

I… strongly suspect that I’m just running a sub-window of chrome? I also discovered that someone makes a third party app, but I’m always cautious about downloading third party stuff, and I’m worried about it getting shut down by Google at some point.

Would like input from the Tumblrites on this one…

It's insane how casually the calls to end a genocide, not just the students in Columbia University but pro Palestinian views in general, are labelled as terrorists. The audacity to still publicly support Israel's actions even after the horrific bombings these last months and then turn around to say that the ones who oppose it are violent anti semites is just baffling

every mainstream media article right now, even if they do mention anti zionist jewish students, frames this as a racial/ethnic conflict and not an ideological conflict, and fails to mention that most of the people getting allegedly harassed were zionists purposefully provoking people not random people being targeted

its completely dishonest, everything about the framing that all the politicians and media spokespeople keep pushing so uniformly is a distortion of reality and an erasure of whos actually involved in the protests, i feel like im in the twilight zone

I really don't know how to explain to people that supporting gender liberation (liberation for trans people, liberation for gnc people, liberation from all oppressive gender roles) means you have to be able to see someone you think is cis "crossdressing" and be cool about it. You have to be able to see someone presenting in a way that doesn't make sense to you and not interrogate them about their identity. You have to be able to hear someone express a gender identity you don't understand and go "Huh! Neat," and go about your business. If you truly want gender liberation for all then you have to stop trying to exert control over other people's genders, period.
