Forgot my 10 year anniversary at work was Saturday. My first big kid job after college stuck, thankfully. Helped along by progressing in my career, enjoying the people I work with and the work.

annnnd being scared to leave. Only 80% kidding.

#i used to be the baby of the group and though we dont have any newbies around atm #but I'm still one of the youngest along with my younger sister who i helped get the same job as me like 6 years ago #anyway it's crazy #ill never forget how i found out i was pregnant with t i had been there less than a year #and i was in a looow level position at that point and i knew flma didn't kick in until 1 year #and my boss at the time went 'oh that's no big deal we'll make it work' #and she did lol and then when i had to move I'd been there 6 years and asked to go remote and they were like yeah nbd #and then i moved back and zero people have pressured me to get into the office and I'm technically still remote #i got lucky honestly #personal nonsense

#also watching it at age 19-20 as it was released and experiencing the resulting clusterfuck online fandom response was a wild trip #im finally rewatching it again at 25 and really really feel lucky to have seen it at the age i did #i have completely different perspective on it now that i have 3 young nephews and a neice where before i was in college #the music is still as incredible as it was back then #and the animation #i cant beleive people got honestly and truly upset and violently aggressive about characters being off model sometimes #early stevens voice though kills me after awhile...... the yelling .... but his characters growth and development also being reflected in #his voice changing as he grows up #they also go crazy hard on some scenes #who am i kidding the show was a masterpiece and ahead of its time

Floyd traces them.

Gently pressing his finger into your skin, chuckling at the way it sinks it ever so slightly. Dragging his hand across the length of those marks on your body. He traces them with a somewhat amused air, as if he was drawing a line between all the dots.

Almost like those old connect-the-dot picture books for children. You could feel the chill of his nail, skating from one mark to another. Connecting all the marks engraved into your body, trying to make sense of them all.

If you try to shake him off, or cover them up, Floyd’s whining away. His lower lip juts out in a petulant pout, shaking your arm until you let him continue. If you ask him why he does it… well, Floyd doesn’t really have a proper answer to that!

It’s nice feeling your skin under his hands. It’s like flipping the pages of a book, Y’know? Looking at all the underlined words, the little annotations… feeling the little creases left from the owner dog-earring their favourite pages… little things like that. The loving marks of a book read over and over again.
