Wyll's Enchanted Boots

Set somewhere in acts 1/2, once the group is more comfortable with each other. Astarion is a little sh!t prankster

"What did he do this time?"

"Enchanted Wyll's boots," Karlach snorted. "Poor guy can't get them off."

Shadowheart sneered. "He's going to give away our location if they don't keep it down."

"You want to get in the middle of their prank war, go ahead. They've been obsessed recently. But I think Gale or Tav cast something that soundproofed the camp before they left. Pretty sure we've all been making noise."

"Help! HELP! Get these things ohooooofffff! GaHA! TICKLES! IT TICKLES! Oh my GAHAHADS! HEEEEELP!" 

"No one will save you, darling fool," Astarion was watching Wyll roll on the ground struggling to remove the cursed boots. His smile was smug and satisfied - Wyll had been especially sassy and righteous during their travels that week and Astarion had had enough. He was sitting in a chair above the downed fighter swirling a wine glass with the occasional sip. "Another few minutes and that will have made up for all of those comments on my rat diet."

"Feheheathers! Th-thousands of feathers!"

"Yes dear, I'm sure it feels that way!"

Shadowheart shuddered, but she had weighed the options in her mind. "Oi! Astarion! Those were a good pair of boots. Why did you need to waste them with a curse like that?"

The vampire put a hand to his chest in false hurt. "This? A waste? I think not dear, I am more than satisfied with the results. Wyll, darling fool that he is, may have stepped into them unwillingly but now whoever wants to laugh themselves silly can do so anytime they please. It only lasts as long as you can keep them on…" He chuckled darkly.

"And will it be your turn after he manages to get them off?" She raised a brow. 

"I'd kinda like to try," Karlach shrugged. 

"Then pull them off meeeee! HaHAhahahaaa!" Wyll wailed.

"Nah, looks too intense. Or are you that sensitive?" She teased. "You walk around camp with a crop top Wyll, can't say I blame Astarion for getting ideas."

"And he has an extra pair of normal shoes lying around somewhere," Astarion waved his hand. "Unless they're enchanted too and Gale ate them...Hm. Heh. Heheh. Good luck fighting whilst laughing your arse off."

Shadowheart clicked her tongue. "It has been mere minutes, and he is crying."

"Heeeeeeelp!"

"Enough Astarion," Karlach laughed. "He's had enough."

"Alright, alright," Astarion sighed and set his glass down. "Hold still darling. Stop kicking your - hey! Stop kicking for a minute! Yes, thank you. Excellent self control. Let me pull the left off first…that's it, dear. Here you go, Karlach. You slip it on and it'll start tickling after a few moments. I'm only giving you one boot, otherwise you may get too excited and blow us up, you sweet touch-starved barbarian. Now Wyll, if you kick me again I'm leaving this one on….Alright goooood….Aaaaaand you're free!" He stood back up with a delighted smile and offered the other boot to Shadowheart. "Curious?"

"Hells no," She crossed her arms. 

"HEH! Heheheh. Haha, oh my, heheh, ohoho!" Karlach broke out into higher pitched giggles than anyone would have thought. "Hehehey! This isn't bahahad!...This is nihihice! H-how ticklish are you Wyll? Heheh!"

Wyll stayed on the ground as he watched his teammates and friends have fun. "I'm," he gasped, "I'm happy…at least one person…can enjoy that torture device…heheh…"

"Two people," Astarion reclined back on his chair like a cat. "I'll leave the pair by Halsin's tent when they come back and then we can get a proper show. You'll be thanking me."

Shadowheart looked down at the boot, up at Karlach who had taken a seat on the ground and was giggling, and sighed as she sat down beside her. "A kind gift you've given her," She said to Astarion. "But I'm curious as to why you want to see us laugh?"

"Better a smile on your face and cheer in the camp than slowly angering ourselves to murder darling, cruel pranks lead to cruel actions," Astarion set his glass down and stood. He spoke from experience with his spawn 'siblings.' "Now then. I'm going to-"

Wyll grabbed his ankle with a playful look in his eye. "Going to what?"

"Going to escape your grasp," He shook his leg, and when that didn't work he bent over to unwork Wyll's fingers around his ankle. "Going to…to just sliiiiide myself out of here while you loons have your fun…"

"Oh I think he deserves some form of payback for that," Shadowheart smirked and helped Wyll pull the vampire's legs out from under him so he landed face-first on the ground. "Us loons do want to have our fun."

Astarion yelped and tried to scramble away again, but he soon joined Karlach in a giggle fit as the pair squeezed his legs. Wyll was working on pulling off one of his shoes as Astarion did everything in his power to not actually kill the two. "H-hey now! I, heh, I thought thaHAT you'd prank me some other wahay! Gehet off yohou weirdos! AHEH! HEE! N-not the kneHEES! HEE!"

"You've been pranking us with laughter for weeks and we're the weirdos?" Shadowheart took more pleasure than she should have from making Astarion squeak. He was on the ground squeaking from their pinching and scribbling into the backs of his knees.

"It's only fair, Astarion! Stop kicking, you know you deserve to laugh just as hard as I did! C'mon Fangs," It took a few seconds, but Wyll managed to tug the enchanted boot over Astarion's one foot and sat on the pair of legs so he couldn't pull it off. "Karlach, get his other one!...Karlach?"

She appeared to be off in her own world, enjoying the teasing magic.  

Astarion's giggles became consistent and louder. Not that being pinned and forced to take their revenge helped, but he had not anticipated the boot actually tickling so much. Shadowheart was also on his waist pinching his sides from behind with her slender fingers now. Embarrassed, he hid his face in the crook of an arm and tried shooing her hand away with the other. He shot both back down when she slid them into his armpits, and they were pinned there making him cackle. He could only writhe on the ground and laugh at their mercy - yet he would take this over Cazador's punishments any day. His teammates weren't interested in hurting him when he acted out.

This was fun.

Wyll had decided to grab Astarion's free foot. Holding it by the ankle on the ground, he scratched his nails over the sole.

Not so fun. The nails were far worse than the feathers the boot tickled with.

Wyll exclaimed, "The Blade of Frontiers always finishes his fights! Give in yet, fiend?"

Astarion arched his back, raising his head high. Tears prickled the corners of his eyes and he had the largest grin only Shadowheart could see from the angle she sat at. "Yes, YEHEHES! GET OHOHAHAFF!"

And they did. 

Shadowheart patted his back when she slid off, and Wyll got off of his legs. "Need help with the boot?" 

Still giggling, the spawn pulled himself up and started to pull the enchanted item off with far more ease than Wyll had been able to. The other boot was tossed into his lap, and he saw Karlach cross-legged wiping her own eyes. 

"That was fun!" She exclaimed. "Haven't been touched like that before. Thanks, Astarion. I'll borrow those again." 

He coughed and snuck quick glances to Shadowheart, who was smirking at him on her knees, and Wyll, who was still dangerously close to his feet. When they made eye contact he wiggled his fingers in the air teasingly. "Juvenile pranks don't go unpunished, Astarion. Truce?"

They won't hurt you. They're having fun.

I'M having fun.

He pulled himself together after a second, pulling the smirk back over his face as a familiar mask. "How about well deserved pranks? You've been a brat this week Wyll, and I'm not above making you laugh as hard as you do your enemies."

"Tickling enemies is my thing!" He shot back. "You got these ideas from Gale and I!"

As they bickered, Karlach plucked the boots back from Astarion and grinned at Shadowheart. "I'll put these by Halsin's tent. It'll sure be a sight when they get back. I'm going to go sharpen my blades before these two start tickling each other again."

"I'll join you," As Shadowheart stood, Astarion indeed leaped onto Wyll and tackled him to the ground. Straddling him, he dug into the bare skin Wyll's cropped top exposed and loud laughter once again filled the camp. 

She smiled. Without realizing it, Astarion was great at team building.

Hi!! Ive been such a big fan of yours for a while now and ive wanted to ask, would you ever consider doing some audios for jujutsu kaisen? Specifically for Gojo? Just curious, thanks for all you do i absolutely love your audios!

I'm not particularly interested, I'm afraid. Gojo looks cool, but I'd rather drag my old wrinkled sack through broken glass than set aside my passion projects to create for an anime I'm not even invested in.

Never say never, obviously, but right now I'm so happy and satisfied. If I branch out into doing any sort of fandom content, it'll be for something I'm really passionate about because I don't wanna fake it to make a quick buck and also go through the headaches that come along with anime fandoms who are rabid for a particular character. If I had to deal with that shit right now I'd be a much less fulfilled creator.

When I find a character that excites me the way that sparks my creativity and it makes sense, I'll be there. I appreciate you asking, and am grateful for the support! Wish I could deliver the goods for you, but I don't think whatever I could cook up would be worth it for me or the listeners. <3

The Bad Batch Season 2 - Mid-Season Eps 7 & 8 Spoilers & Thoughts

Ranted it out on twitter last night and forgot to share here.

LOT of thoughts this time

Major Spoilers beneath cut!

Really trully phenomenal writing, so much more than I expected to be said so explicitly. Open discussion of clones' rights, their futures, their lack of personhood under both the Republic and the Empire, even the threat of decommissioning.

What we always knew, what we wanted explicitly addressed in mainstream canon, stated by the clones themselves. Truly ecstatic about these episodes.

Absolutely loved the confirmation that yes, this is what Rex has been doing all along. We saw it implied with Gregor in S1, but it's so good to see it clearly stated, and to see him in action. It makes me hope he got Cody out too.

It also made me crave a show dedicated entirely to this fight. I once again understand and am okay with the TBB centering solely around the Batch. But it's hard not to be anxious knowing what all the other clones are facing. Which makes me understand Echo even more.

Echo's decision. I knew it would come to a boiling point, trusted it would. I'd hoped that Echo would convince Hunter + co to care, but they have their own priorities. I love Echo more bc he decided he couldn't walk away.

He said that his place was with the Batch, and I like to think that he found some kind of home with them. But unlike the rest of them, he sees the rest of the clones as his brothers too. I hope this isn't the last we see of him, but I know he is loved and respected with Rex.

These episodes were a wealth of nostalgic locations, and seeing each one caused such a beautiful ache. I love all the lush new planets explored in the other episodes, but Coruscant felt like coming home.

The specific locations: 79s, the Senate building, Riyo's room that looks so much liked Padmé's, the Martez sisters' place, the clone memorial, the lower levels, even the star destroyer, the stunning of the troops specifically evoking S7's finale. Everything the same but different.

We didn't get to see all of these places with the new graphics, bc TCW S7 only had 4 arcs and TBB S1 covered a lot of newer locations. But gosh what a treat. It was all so beautiful, both aesthetically and metaphorically. Defs need to rewatch so many times to truly appreciate.

Rampart's fall surprised me, bc I did feel he's the lone Big Bad of the show so far, the true embodiment of anti-clone. He's done a lot of unforgivable things and having Palps lock him up isn't satisfying, even if it was surprising. I unfortunately doubt that's the last we've seen of him, though who knows. I admittedly don't care too much either way, but if he's gone, it'll be interesting to see who steps into the next "main antag" shoes, bc I doubt it's Palps himself.

Rex had his tiddies uncovered the whole time and I was so concerned he'd get shot. i mean he's the only chara guaranteed to live, and I'm also glad he's got a better disguise, but dear please wear some protection

(but yeah ngl it's nice that we got to see him armorless with the beefier new model. I am still remembering TCW Saleucami and thinking my gosh this man is a STICK he is STARVED they ALL ARE. I am always for adding more beef to clones.)

Really curious where they're going with the chips brainwashing the clones. Both Rex and Wrecker appeared conscious of the whole time they were under, trying and unable to stop and remembering it afterwards.

Yet other clones seem to be gradually "waking up," even though many of them likely should have been equally horrified at the moment O66 went live. Rex and the Batch aren't exceptions being Good Guys, the vast majority of the clones are extremely loyal and honorable.

Makes me wonder if after an extended time under the chip's control, that feeling of wrongness/fighting against it fades, until it seems the new ordinary? But then the more time passes, the Order weakens, and they're able to feel more discrepancies, hence the desertions?

The clone assassin definitely seemed super "under" an Order, extremely Off and not himself, like what I'd imagine a freshly O66 clone to be like. Which makes me further curious that Rampart had him (and presumably more like him) under his control. We'll have to see!

But yeah, to conclude: Cody didn't die! (didn't show up!) Named clones I cared about too much in the few minutes we had them DID die and I am still sad but, it could have been worse.

Also huh, not even a glimpse of Crosshair? (feeling a wee bit bad for his fans, that out of the first 8 eps, he's only in one of them...hopefully the next one will be about him ^ ^; )

promised myself i was going to do this high for humor value and to be edgy. and now that i am high, i will be doing it. thank you to @thevagabondexpress and @imabitchforjemcarstairs for telling me to go for it.

WHAT I THINK OF EACH BETTER IN BLACK COUPLE, IN THE ORDER THEY APPEARED ON THE ROSTER.

Wessa -> EXCITEMENT LEVEL 9/10. i always want to see more of these two and am curious about what they may do in paris. i'm picky with wessa content and very finicky with it, but i am currently cautiously optimistic about liking the story. if i do i think i will be a bit more satisfied with wessa's canon storyline/content as i want to see them in an established relationship. i'm so interested in what the little crystal ball/snowglobe on the cover means and kinda hope they get into some magical mayhem.

Clace -> EXCITEMENT LEVEL 7.5/10. I like Clace and they give me nostalgic feelings, so it will be fun to catch up with them. They're not, like, an all-time favorite ship, but I like them together and am curious what theyre like as an adult couple.

Arianna -> EXCITEMENT LEVEL 9/10. I'll admit that this ship is one i have some complicated feelings about, but i like them a lot anyway. they're one of the most interesting/compelling dynamics in the TSC canon to me even if i don't think they're thomastairherondaisy-like soulmates. i think that this story is a good choice because their story feels unfinished, and to properly conclude their storyline we need to see them have some conversations and make some compromises. i'm really rooting for them and am excited to see how their relationship works/changes.

Herondaisy -> EXCITEMENT LEVEL 1000/10. i mean, it's herondaisy. Did you really expect anything less? i'm pumped because i want to see them domestically after they acknowledge that they're married and in love. there's going to be a 2nd wedding rune scene, which is awesome and im hyped, but i also think we're probably gonna get some honeymoon adventure content of both of them and i am even MORE excited for that. i like how cordelia is running and james is reachng after her on the cover like "i love my wife she's so adventurous but come baaack. wait for meee." and YES??? good god. this one is going to be so good. and im so curious what the pomegranates are??? yeah??? i think something about being invincible because of persian myth. maybe it's because they're soulmates. an unstoppable duo. i'm gushing lol @angeldaisies @hanelizabeth. i need to stop but this will definitely happen again when i get to the thomastair story.

Sebastian and SQ -> EXCITEMENT LEVEL 8.5/10. okay i KNOW this one's controversial, and i get why one might be upset if their favourite ship did not make the cut. but like. okay. i am SO excited for this story. this is going to be DARK. this is going to be TWISTY. this is going to be the dark horse of the bunch, fundamentally fucked up and horrifying. doomed by the narrative. i'm so excited that this story is there because it's going to be so tonally unique. i think cassie wanted to write something truly fucked up, i think she has the talent to pull it off perfectly, and i am fucking pumped.

Jemma -> EXCITEMENT LEVEL 2/10 for the setting. it'll be cool seeing another institute while they're on their travel year. but otherwise i'm not vibing. i expected it fully though so it's fine, this is the only one in the set i'm considering a throwaway for me that i will for sure dislike. But that's okay! because next up is...

Thomastair -> EXCITEMENT LEVEL 1000/10. guys. look. these are the people whose love i am myself in love with. these are the people that make me believe in hope, and healing, and the power of getting better together and doing better. and we havent seen them in a lot of established relationship, so im glad to do so here. AND IN A ROMCOM. YES. and we're definitely getting content of them playing with zachary. which is like, a dream come true for me since a) i adore that kind of story, and b) zachary is such an important part of alastairs arc. i also think they're going to babysit him and everything that can go wrong will. he's lost! he's rolling away! ahhh! oh it's going to be great. like the herondaisy story this is definitely going to be beloved by me. there's no way to make me not like it. this is going to be one of my comfort stories for the rest of my life, i can tell. like nbs or cls or eet or the herondaisy story or the matthew novella. the thomastair story goes into this special and exclusive category. but yea im gushing again because they're soulmates and i love them <333

Kierarktina -> EXCITEMENT LEVEL 6/10. Yes, i am not really a kierarktina fan, but hear me out. I find their relationship interesting, and they have a lot of things that really don't work. but I think a story where they begin to unpack these differences would be astounding. Also sue me i'm interested in the horse on the cover, much like Ken in the barbie movie.

Sizzy -> EXCITEMENT LEVEL 7.5/10. another ship that while not an all-time favourite is nostalgic and beloved by me. and we've barely seen them at all since TMI, so it will be great to know what they're up to.

Lukelyn -> EXCITEMENT LEVEL 6.5/10. do i care about this couple? no. i don't dislike them, but i'm meh on them. BUT i LOVE the circle, and it said that it took place in the past. we might get another circle story! But also... i want to see Ragnor and think he might appear here??

i can't wait until more time has passed and our emotions have settled and we are able to properly analize this season because i am THE MOST CURIOUS what your idea of a satisfying ending is to this story, taking into account that Neil has answered that he has plotted season 3 in a way for it to be satisfying, and i mean that from both the second coming storyline and, most important for my emotional health, the husbands' romantic storyline

tbh, and y'all might come for me on this, the satisfying ending to me won't be a full on Everything Is Okay Now and We're Loving Happily Ever After. aside from the fact that im not sure that's GO-style in the first place, i think that there would need to be a LOT of ground to make up in six episodes to reach that point.

neil has said that they get a cottage in the south downs iirc (can't remember exactly how he worded it), and that i could see happening. i could see literally the end scene being that they have a slightly awkward but genuine, all-cards-have-already-been-laid-bare but i-do-love-you-please-never-doubt-that dinner at the Ritz (bc of course), and aziraphale - harking back to the Nothing Lasts Forever moment - decides to sell the shop, to begin again together rather than separately, on equal footing, and put the money into the cottage. gives crowley the listing, with something along the lines of, "we could start building forever here."

and i think leaving it somewhat there, and open to the interpretation of the audience, would be the most genuine thing that could happen. that's thousands of years of hurt compounded into a season, and it'll take some time to get over... so it'll need to be left slightly open ended, maybe with crowley just saying, "yeah... that could work.", and maybe another fond look over the champagne or something.

i toyed with the idea that if they somehow come face to face with Her, that they might be given the choice to become human... and they both actively choose to a) decide together, for their side, and b) ultimately refuse, because they both want that forever to literally be for eternity. they're earth's guardians, after all.

heaven and hell will still exist but be in equal balance, possibly not even really having changed much at all... just that post-war, they are under new management with the promise that things will Change... but it won't ultimately matter to either of the boys because they have something more important to them than whatever heaven/hell get up to... not everything can have a happy ending.

so that's the emotional side done - tbh i have no idea re: the second coming, because other than the pretty obvious (to me anyway) indication that it's greasy johnson, we don't have a lot to go on... metatron will have died or st idk, plans to thwart the Ineffable Plan in turn thwarted, and everything calmly exists in balance once again.

so no idea on the second coming, but maybe the bits on our boys will tide you over?✨💓💓

Hi! Lately i've been really considering starting a legacy, and i know you already gave some tips about this, but what I'm wondering about is: How do you balance telling a story and actually having fun playing the game? It seems a little overwhelming, how much of the sparks legacy is gameplay, and how much is setting up pictures? I hope it's not coming of as mean, i am really curious, because i don't want to decide that i don't wanna do it in the middle. How do you come up with plotpoints for your legacy too? It seems so sweet, natural and casual, and i really love it, so I wanna know how fun is it for you to "run" it? I hope you have a great day! <3

Hi! If i'm being 100%, there's been times where it hasn't been the most fun and it can definitely get overwhelming. That being said, it is satisfying to have a save file you can grow along side with if starting a legacy is something you're interested in. I've been playing with the Sparks family since the game released and there's just something about them I can't picture my game without.

For me, I think it's important to adapt your game style to how you feel at that time. Putting too much pressure on yourself to play one way or another will burn you out real quick. You set your own pace, and it's ok if you need breaks or if that pace changes. It's ok if you get really excited to show a scene that needs posed a bunch or you just wanna take silly pictures of your sims building a treehouse.

Just have fun with it and it'll be ok. If it stops being fun, that's usually when you need to change the pace and focus on something else for the time being. I hope this helps some, in the past I've had similar issues and I know it's easier said then done when avoiding getting overwhelmed. The best advice I can give is go for it, have a good time and set boundaries with yourself.

This week (??) I'll talk about two fics, because I absolutely have to talk about Tailspin <33 And since I'm talking about that, it'll be a Tokyo Revengers themed week I guess

Firstly, The Shape of Your Name?? I have a thing for Kazutora, 100%, and it's like, partly your fault tbh

Anyway, I love this fic so so much, because it's 100000x more painful than any normal soulmate fic you've written, and that's saying something

I love Baji so much and this poor boy just does not get a break, not to mention his poor soulmate

And the twisted way Tora is drawn to the reader just ticks all the right boxes, not to mention how his sense of indebtedness towards Baji translates towards the reader - because obviously, as much as he seems to like her, she is still an extension of Baji, the only one he still has

Just, the entire fic is so mouthwateringly delicious <33

Now, on to the star of the show

I like how this fic is centred around Chifuyu and the fact that he remembers - that he's trying to do the right thing and still fails miserably

I do have a question before I get into it - did he kill Takemichi to get the time leaper power?? Or??

Anyway, the way he tries to keep Baji and Kazutora away from the reader, all for it to amount to absolutely nothing in the end - also the fact that we read it from his pov and see how much it strains him to stay away, it almost seems like he was being punished for not taking the reader when he had the chance - she died because he went against the grain and all that

It's like one big cosmic joke because he tried to do the "right" thing

Also the reader's piece of shit boyfriend?? Man, him getting beat up was satisfying as hell, thank you for that Rhi :))

It was such a beautiful fic, and I loved the attention to detail, and the idea that he remembered bits and pieces from previous timelines

Also, I'm curious about Baji and Tora's reactions to him kidnapping this random girl - obviously they were happy and went along with it, but like, what was the process?? Did they ever question how and why Fuyu noticed her and decided to kidnap her??

again there was gonna be a full scene but i kinda liked the idea of leaving it more up to y'all imaginations as to whether he went and 'asked' or picked the less noble path which involved a pipe but uhhh, in my mind he definitely went with the latter. more because it was a, i guess, sort of proven method? there was no guarantee that even if takemichi agreed to give him the power that he'd know how to do it, that it'd work properly.

and takemitchy wouldn't have given it to him anyway.

it wasn't all that intentional, but i never really loved (from a narrative side) the whole 'everyone lives and we're all happy best friends forever uwu' ending that we got. ofc i was thrilled my faves got a second chance, and draken and emma got together and takemichi saved his friends yes, but... life doesn't work that way.

i also liked the idea that certain things are just set in stone within that universe, and yes, maybe chifuyu trying to stray too far from that inevitably made things a thousand times worse for everyone involved.

as far as ginji goes.... gbfhdjkjhvfjdks after getting in trouble for making oc's that you guys liked and then putting them through hell i decided to go the opposite direction. initially when i started the fic he was gonna be a loving, good bf but... where's the fun in that? >:)

chifuyu operates on the belief (or at least tries to convince himself) that the reason they did what they did with the reader in the past was that they were essentially broken people. they lost their way, they lost their friends, and as sad and as sick as it was a kind of coping mechanism. they were beyond healthy relationships, and while they loved the reader, that dependency and the fear that she'd be taken from them too made them go to those lengths.

therefore, in this new, shiny timeline where they're all better people without mental illness, trauma and ptsd who don't kill their friends and beat people to death for the fun of it, they should be able to have a fresh start and be better versions of themselves.

unfortunately for him, they're just broken, fucked up people to begin with, there's no changing that.

i think i sort of explained it badly in the earlier ask, because it wasn't like 'oop, there's this pretty girl and we've noticed you stalking her, but hey if you wanna keep her down here that's cool with us as long as we get to share :))' fghdjkdjhvfjdks

in the original timeline they clock on pretty quick – almost from the get-go in tora's case – that something is up with chifuyu and the reader, and when he starts to spiral... they piece things together. they're both incredibly perceptive, even in canon.

between him leaping back and actually physically abducting the reader, months pass. he sort of leaves a trail of breadcrumbs, waits to see the reaction they'll have to that. i refuse to believe that none of them knew anything about the time leaps, even if they didn't remember anything like fuyu does. there is no way loudmouth, awkward as fuck takemitchy (or mikey) at no point said some weird shit that twigged something between their friends.

it isn't difficult to put chifuyu's strange behaviour and his 'sudden' obsession with this girl together with what they know – or at the very least suspect – and come up with some interesting conclusions. chifuyu wouldn't come right out and blurt the whole story, but over time he'd let things 'slip'.

but i also don't think they're all that interested in pushing him for reasons or justification. if chifuyu wants to keep his secrets, fine.

it's not like they don't feel that draw towards her. it's not like they don't have those same, dark, selfish impulses lurking beneath their skin.

Hi! Just curious... I was reading one of your previous answers and you said you feel they're building toward a breaking point with chenford this season. I hadn't seen it that way and I'm just wondering if you can share more about what you think is leading towards this and what kind of breaking point you're expecting? Thanks!

sure thing! just noting this is like...purely conjecture, but ultimately what i would like to see coming up. i also think a lot of people don't want to see this and i respect that, so as a blanket statement since i am posting this publicly: all i ask in sharing this is that you please reciprocate that respect.

so, i think it's incredibly telling that chenford has yet to really talk about their feelings. if you look at 5x08, 5x09, 5x10 – everything is actionable, leading towards something (their first date, then their first time, etc) rather than them tackling how they feel for one another. right now, they're in this blissful happy little space where they're each other's most important person who they can now freely be with. they don't have to shrink back, pretend they don't want to touch, push feelings off – but they still haven't said much, which matters. if they were just going to be settled and together, we'd have seen a bigger moment of confession, a somewhat more dramatic arc of getting together, etc. it's been fairly easy up until now, and i think that's incredibly telling – because it shouldn't be, and it isn't actually easy.

the other shoe is going to drop, and i personally think that'll come in the form of a breakup. i know some hate the idea of this, but i honestly think it'll serve to see them pining for one another now that they know how incredible it feels to be together. whether it be some greater force (work, the powers that be at the LAPD, etc) that keep them from continuing their relationship, a miscommunication (tim went over lucy's head to take the desk job, lucy's now gone over tim's head to get him into metro – and in lucy's case, she's now actively deceiving tim about it, lying to his face when she says "i don't know how you keep that all straight" after orchestrating the whole thing), or a mixture of things (metro's hard on tim, they're missing each other because of shifts, and then it comes out lucy's been lying to him this whole time)...something's going to drive a wedge between these two.

a lot of people saw lucy orchestrating tim's move to metro as a thing tim would be okay with – and i don't think he wouldn't be okay with the move, but the way lucy went about it and the way she kept him in the dark...even after he got the promotion? i don't think tim's going to be cool with that. i could be wrong, but the idea that she's lied to him and actively kept it from him, even when all their colleagues/friends know doesn't seem like it'll sit well when it inevitably comes out.

ultimately, as a viewer i will be more satisfied with their story if it's difficult – and up until now, i don't feel it has been. sure: we have waited for them – but i don't think chenford understood there was even the potential for something until 4x21/4x22 (feelings are a different thing, but literal potential i don't think happened until the fake proposal/first kiss). like, i'm loving the content we're getting but there's no way (imo) that there isn't trouble afoot for them. it wouldn't make sense to me to just let them be – especially with the way problems have cropped up left and right for them from the second they even considered being together. every time something gets resolved, two new issues pop up – so i won't be surprised to see it all come to a head and blow up in their faces for a while.

plus, i would love to see a version of chenford who knows how deeply they feel for one another try to walk it back even a little and be like...we're still friends. we can still be friends! totally! when they know they cannot – when they know they are still (and will always be) each other's most important person. melissa and eric would be bonkers in an exes we-almost-had-it-all-and-i-never-got-to-tell-you-i-love-you arc...and i for one would like to see that happen.

Heya! I'm curious to hear your opinion on the last episode in general, I don't think you've said much from what I've seen. Mainly on Collie and stuff, and especially what you think about them going away in the end there. Are you perhaps planning to write a post on that or anything? I just like your takes on things so I'm curious

... can I say something? It makes me stupidly emotional in a positive way that so many people have been showing interest in my opinions and thoughts about toh and collector. I knew my posts on them had gotten somewhat popular, but it genuinely surprises seeing how many people seem to think of me and want to hear what I have to say! You guys are too incredibly sweet and I just want to thank you!

This got... pretty long since I assumed you wanted an overall rundown of my thoughts on the episode not just focused on colly so uhhh... tagging it as long post.

As for my general thoughts on the episode... they are... uhhh A LOT of ohhhhh that's so cool ohhh that's so awesome... it was genuinely just a very fun high spirits episode for me, I was surprised seeing how easily colly was swayed and how willing he was to try and be friends... he is truly a very kind being! How strong raine was to push belos out and keep going, their ingenuity as well with all their movements!! They're so cool... the way they confirmed my suspicion that Collector really loves titans and knows a lot about their anatomy and culture!

I REALLY didn't think they were gonna do the Luz death fake out, that shocked me a lot since we already had a fake out with hunter, but now I'm starting to think they maybe did that to be a direct parallel to flapjack, as that one also featured the glowing lights rising. But then we met King's mom who is a total furbait for me so like!!! It's fine!!! Helloooo sexyyyyy!!!!!!! I love that they're genderfluid that got me so happy I love that he explains it by calling back to King's line about being queen and king that was already so damn transgender!!! I can't believe King is bigender just like her dad!!!

They have such good vibes anyway so it was really nice seeing them. Ngl I was kind of against seeing the titan again bc it was made such a point he was gone and we should mourn them, but she did kinda... die right after anyway so it's fine, and also again she is so cool it's kind of hard to not want him to have shown up. I love hiiiim. And then for that matter. Their conversation was so sweet and I love how it puts emphasis on two core themes of the series: the leftist sentiment of it being severely more important to fight to protect others genuinely from oppression and violence than to be respectable at those in power, and that Luz was never meant to be a chosen one, but she was a good kind person who deserved through her being there to be trusted. And is it not often just a matter of someone who is good choosing to do good when it counts?

I was a little sad that colly didn't get to do much fighting alongside the cast, but then again so didn't... most of the hexsquad! And his role was so important too, protecting everyone inside the Archives!! He is so very strong and i am so proud of him. Luzs titan form was so epic and her fight scene along with eda and King and eventually also raine was so cool!!!! And so was the scene with her just standing over belos... fuck yeah

I do not know if many more people noticed!! But the symbols around the titan as his spirit left luzs body were alchemical sun/gold symbols!! See!!! It's a titan symbol!! Also for that matter, the symbol on luzs chest on her titan design is the sun connected to the earth im pretty sure!! And i do love that King's dad said i love you with a bread pun but it is funny he almost... forgot to send any message lmao. It's okay though I'm sure she just wasn't prepared ♡

Ah and then the ending!! Was cute!! Personally I find the ending and epilogue pretty okay, I don't think it'll satisfy everyone of course, but I liked it well enough, everyone's endings felt nice. I HAVE actually spoken extensively (although more casually) about how I feel on Colly's fate, you can find that on my commander's answers tag as I responded to an anon on it, and I DO have a post about it planned but it will take... quite a long while to make, currently I am still laying down bullet points and I'm only to the second part of it and there are already four pages... uhm. Yeah. That and I'm starting to realize that it might make half the fandom want to crush me in a metal compactor. So thats fun. But well! I am committed to information above all!

You know, I haven't really thought about it much before 🤔 I feel like left vs right is about the same difficulty level for me to draw, both for 3/4 view and for profile view. Though 3/4 view is probably easier for me to draw of the perspectives. Front-facing is fun too to see a facial structure from a different perspective- literally!

4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw?

WEAPONS! Dear god I am AWFUL at drawing weapons, all of them. Guns, knives, swords, bats, whips, spears, crossbows, morning stars, brass knuckles... I am absolutely dogshit at drawing weaponry without some kind of direct reference to trace over, which really sucks because I love weapons and think they're super cool! I have so much respect for people that design their own weapons, especially the ones that have to work with time period-specific limitations (lookin at you, Vinland Saga)

Also as a side note: fuck shoes. I can't draw shoes (or feet) for shit. Every time I draw a shoe I hope ya'll know that it took me at least 5 different references and a 3D model in order to make that happen.

7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate?

Pixel artists and animation, ESPECIALLY animation. I simply do not have the patience for any of it, especially hand-drawn animation; I took a class for it in high school years ago and while I did just fine in the class it made me realize that I do NOT have the patience for the medium. 3D animation was a little easier for me but I'm still not skilled enough at timing and distortion to satisfy my creative image.

Also I have so much respect for pixel artists you wouldn't believe. I used to use Fireworks to fill out pixel art bases on DeviantART over a decade ago and while I did have fun with what I did and could still theoretically do it now, it'll never look as nice as I want it to look in my head 😔

10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw?

Jackets and sweaters, but also I LOVE drawing things like scarves and capes that can billow in the wind and shift with the movement of the wearer, cuz it adds a whole new dimension of action to what could otherwise be a static pose!

Also also I'm a sucker for fishnets 😊

12. Easiest part of body to draw?

So fun fact about me- I actually LOVE to draw human anatomy. Whenever I draw a character I always start by fully drawing out the character's physical anatomy, and then I draw the clothes, hair, and faces on top of that! Here's some sketches from the Soul Archive to show my semi-chaotic workflow~

So I guess the answer is anything that isn't feet is easy for me to draw lol

Repeated phrases/symbols that initially appear to have no meaning but then the meaning becomes abundantly clear in hindsight as it's revealed throughout the story, or alternatively a phrase/symbol that has a specific meaning that's relevant only to the initial introduction of it which changes over time to mean something entirely new, symbolizing the growth and evolution of the character/identity that uses it, or the shift in tone/focus of the overall story.

Flash frowns internally—or maybe he does it externally, too—as he stares down a guy who has obvious interest in his baby sister. The man in front of him—Graydon or something—returns his gaze with no sign of backing down. "May I ask...what's your relationship with Jesse?"

Flash raises a brow, "are you that curious?"

"I am, yes."

"Well, I've been curious myself. What do you think of Jessica?"

"....She's my friend."

"Is that it?"

"Are you looking for a different answer?" they challenge.

"Yes. A manlier one."

"A...manlier one?"

"Yeah, you know, direct to the point, leaving nothing for you to guess, that sorta answer."

They blink and lean back, having leaned forward during their daring conversation. "I..." they mull it over, looking for the proper words, "I want to be the one she loves."

Flash stays silent, searching their face for deceit. Slowly, he nods, and looks away, arms crossed as Jesse returns with their ordered beverages. She looks between the two of them, noting the tells of displeasure in her brother. She smiles and starts up a conversation with Graydon, not caring for her brother's lack of input for now.

She smiles as Graydon looks at his watch and excuses himself, having errands to run. She waves him goodbye and watches him drive away. Only then does she look at her brother who's already staring at her, knowing that she'll want to speak with him. "...You don't like him?"

He sighs and sips on his coffee, watered-down with melted ice, "not satisfied with him, no."

She purses her lips and nods, sullen at the admission. "What is it about him?"

He peers up at her, "just...suspicious of him. Plus, I didn't like his answer."

"Well, what do you want him to do..?" she inquires, hopeful but clearly upset.

Flash shrugs, "treat you well."

"He does, though."

"Then date him."

"But—" she exhales loudly.

He sighs after a beat of silence, "do you like him?"

"Yes," she says, resolutely.

"Then date him, even if it might hurt in the future."

She frowns deeper, "it's like you want me to be hurt."

"If I wanted you to be hurt, you wouldn't be asking what your boyfriend or whatever can do to make me like him. You wouldn't even ask me."

She exhales, her brother has a point.

"It's not that I want you to be hurt, I don't. I'm your older brother, I want to protect you from harm, it's basically my duty."

She glances at him.

"But, I can't protect you from every harm without doing the damage. It happens, we all get hurt, no matter how careful we are. If I try to protect you from every thing that might hurt you, you'd be hurt. If I didn't, you'd be hurt. Doesn't matter what you do, you can't live a painless life. What matters is how you overcome those painful times. That's what I'm here for, I'll always be here for you."

She smiles tearfully.

"Date him if you like him, maybe it'll be the greatest choice you make. Some things are worth the pain, in the end. And if he ends up being an ass, then I'll be here for you. Point is, you'll get hurt no matter what, maybe you two would argue, maybe he'd treat you badly. You'll make mistakes and you'll learn from them, you'll get hurt and you'll be stronger. As long as you get out of there when it's getting...toxic, then be with him. It's the happy memories that matters, in the end, right?"

She nods, "yeah."

"Promise me you'll leave if it gets toxic, though."

She holds out her pinkie, linking it with his, "promise. And I know that you'll be there to pull me out."

He smiles, "make good friends, yeah? Good ones, the ones that'll stick with you no matter what."

Hello L. I hope you're doing well. I am absolutely head over heels with your worldbuilding and as an aspiring writer I'm really curious as to how you go about creating countries/places to fit a modern setting.

Note: I am no way a professional author, and this is just how I make stuff

I usually take inspiration from existing countries already (like how Rosedale, the country the whole gang and shenanigans are in, is based on France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal with a sprinkle of flower motif). It's hard to properly explain my worldbuilding since it just comes to me most of the time.

It's all about inspiration really from existing media and a bit of tweaking from me. I try to make the themes fit with what I want the place to be, to show some cohesion in it, and not make it feel like a mishmash of what the heck is going on here.

I try my best to answer some basic questions like the 5 W's:

Who live here?

Where is this?

What things are in here?

Why is this place the way it is?

When was it established?

Let's take my version of heaven (Zion) and hell (Gehenna) as an example.

Both of these are based on Biblical stuff and some mythology that I've found scoured thru the net.

Zion is a place high up in the sky, with two suns, lotsa clouds, lotsa spires, a lot of regions for different types of angels, it's always day time (barely any night time), it's so sunny, no hierarchy, peaceful as hecc. Why is it like this? Because there is a god of order ruling over it, and he wants everything to be equal and organized. Plus the first thing we usually think about "heaven" is that it's up high in the clouds and everything is BRIGHT.

Gehenna is a place down in the ground, with two moons and a red sky, one walled region that's divided into four districts with a barren wasteland outside of it, there is a hierarchy, it gets REALLY dark at night, lotsa infighting. Why is it like this? The goddess of chaos doesn't rule these parts, letting her people handle themselves, hence so much chaos and one region with a hierarchy going on. Plus hell is usually associated with being close to the ground and d a r k.

And that's just the basic version of my worldbuilding lore for both of them.

You can get as detailed or as simple as you want, just as long it answers the basic questions and concise and understandable for you and your future readers. And please, don't ever break the worldbuilding. It'll only break canon and confuse your readers.

Also, also! Dont be afraid to rewrite your lore if you arent satisfied with the first draft. It happens to the best of us, and it's okay. You don't have to make the perfect lore at the first try. Take inspiration from existing media (but don't copy or steal them), do some research on things that tickle your fancy and you wanna add in the lore/worldbuilding, add your own magical twist to it, and have fun!

hi heres some completely unrequested writing tips sorry for the long post :) i misread the ask before i started writing so. yeah. in short i don't write chronologically, except when I'm writing the beginning?

the first scene i wrote for this is literally the rising climax of the story. i had no idea what I wanted to do with it from there but it just kept evolving until now I'm writing a whole year spanned over 20 chapter fic.

When I started this one (mind you i havent written in like 7 years) I just wrote what came to me, what ideas made me excited. Basically whatever was bringing me joy to write, whatever was fun to expand it into. Purely self indulgent for myself to reread over and over and over, no real plan to post it.

Then I got the brainworm about it and couldn't stop thinking about it and I knocked out over 20k in a month which was. Also due to me being massively depressed and distracting myself.

But in this time I got a sketch book and started planning out a bigger story, something to compliment the original idea and inspiration while also giving a satisfying story between the characters (also figuring out overarching plot, drew out a plot mountain at one point to see where I was lacking, jotting down ideas just to get them down so I could let them simmer in the back of my mind, jotting down phrases or ideas for dialouge, etc) basically just. playing in the space and seeing what ended up feeling most satisfying as a whole story

Once I got the overall idea of what I wanted to do, I started mapping out chapters, but mostly getting a rough idea of where i wanted things to go in the story. I am being VERY diligent to remember that this is all mutable and nothing is set in stone and its MORE FUN that way

At this point I'm still just writing whats enjoyable and coming to me naturally. Once I started solidifying more of the plot and ideas I started working on some of the parts that just needed to be done re: the very beginning. And i fucking hate the very very beginning right now i cant wait to rewrite it but i am NOT LETTING MYSELF DO THAT.

DO NOT GO BACK AND EDIT SIGNIFIGANTLY. If you catch yourself rereading it and adjusting a few things, fine. But if you find any major inconsistencies either make a mental note or leave a comment or something and then just leave it. It'll be there to fix later. It doesn't matter. Leave a fuckin [insert name of kitchen utensil here] if you don't remember. Who cares. It's your first draft.

OKAY now onto how I've been writing the scenes that don't come as naturally to me

I let the scene simmer for a while in my brain. I entertain different ideas and approaches and jot down anything that feels right. Usually for me I'll get a clear line of dialogue or interaction that feels like a good creative starting point

2. I listen to music when I write bc I have adhd, but im curious to know if this would work for other people too! I have a playlist I curated for the fic that I have listened to. A lot. A lot. Like a Lot. Like most mornings on my way to work. this 1) helps me play in my head with the blorbos and 2) gives me a good emotional basis to bounce ideas off of if I'm stumped on a scene.

I literally just gave my friend @docninj this advice. Pick a song that represents the emotion you're trying to convey in the scene youre trying to write. Could be overall emotion, emotion of the narrator, main character's emotions, whatever. Then play that song on repeat until you don't really hear it anymore. Then try writing. I'll also switch songs if the mood of the scene changes. For me it helps me bounce the emotions I'm trying to write off of something that represents it? god dude idk.

HI NICOLE HI!!!!!! since we're getting our boys back, is there anything in particular you want to see for the puentalay episode in our skyy? also do you think we're getting another color title for it 👀

okay i'm gonna be honest. i completely did not expect to see puentalay ever again. no movie no special ep NOTHING so i never thought of what i would want to see of them. and also, vice versa left me completely and 100% SATISFIED. there's nothing more i would wish for.

however... one thing i did really want to see, but which i doubt will happen since it might be too random to address this, is the bucket hat scene being brought up again. okay so puentalay's meet cute is my favorite scene in the series, wbk. i love it, am obsessed with it, probably rewatched it fifty times after ep 1 aired. we saw puen realizing that talay is the one who gave him the hat, and that is my second favorite scene in the series. we saw puen finding the hat again when he went back to their universe. BUT WE NEVER SAW TALAY ADDRESSING THAT SCENE AT ALL AND THAT MAKES ME FEEL SICK. my biggest bone to pick with vice versa. i want puen to bring it up again. i want talay to be embarrassed about it. give me all the bucket hat references.

but anyways, i don't think that'll be brought up again. it's been a long time since i've watched an our skyy episode, but as far as i can remember it's kind of just a little side story that really doesn't have much relevance to the main plot? and i don't think they have many callbacks to old moments, that's a reason why i feel like the bucket hat scene won't be brought up. but again it's been a LONGGG time since i've watched an our skyy episode so i could be totally wrong! or maybe p'aof wants to do something different this time, who knows!

aside from that, i realllly hope we do have color elements in the episode. my worse fear is that not happening, but color is the staple behind vice versa, and if i don't get another color, i will cry. at the same time i'm not expecting a color title. colors are so specific to vice versa and i also expect the tone of every episode in our skyy 2 to be kind of similar to each other, so they might not put that extra care and effort to do the color thing with vv? i'm a pessimist at heart, but who knows, i'd love to be proven wrong. i would absolutely LOVE to see rainbow. but if not that, i would really like to see a brown or purple color for the episode title because we didn't get those in vv and i really wanted to see them!!!

but yeah, i don't need much out of this, just give me puentalay back being happy and cute and i will be very satisfied!

i do have a fear. a little tiny fear. in the our skyy 2 trailer, we see the hourglass.

when puen flips it, the sand moves, which is kind of ... scary. because in ep 12, he froze the sand in the glass to signify that they would never travel universes again. the movement of the sand represents universe traveling... you know where this is going.

also, talay is wearing earrings in the trailer...

he only wears earrings in the other universe, not the home universe. so yeah, i'm a bit worried that they're going to go back to the alternate universe. if they do, it'll be pretty gimmicky and i'll just try to have fun with it and not take it seriously, but yeah, that's my one fear. it's just a trailer though i don't even know if the plot has been thought out for it yet, so it might just be me overthinking.
