#i don't even know where i'm going with this. i just found that cutscene idea funny and loved the image of susie and sirica playing wii.

I just imagined a little scenario where the Meta-Knights in my Meta Knightmare AU are playing through The Subspace Emissary in Smash Bros. Brawl in 2008 MSK, or at least the adults watching then-teenaged Susie and Sirica play it. (Yes, they would have been fighting to see who would play as Meta Knight even before they found out how broken he was.) Specifically, I can imagine them all watching the cutscene where the Halberd reaches that big Subspace portal and they're all excited to see her fly, only for Ganondorf's giant ship to just absolutely annihilate it even more than it ever was going into the Secret Sea. Then all of them would probably just be staring awkwardly at each other and just forget that ever happened. (Keep in mind that at this point in time, they were just starting to refurbish the Halberd.)

You will know no greater peace | Astarion/Tav(Reader) | Angst/Comfort
Tumblr media
Info: Comforting Astarion when he begins to disassociate during sex, based on that one cutscene with him and Halsin with the drow twins, Gender neutral Tav as always :) TW: SA mention, trauma, comfort, descriptions of trauma/SA Based on a Bloodweave comic by @/sunflowerdales on Twitter/X!
Your hands are warm against his cold skin as he pumps inside of you at a slow, yet unsteady pace. As your eyes creep open you meet his gaze, his eyes glazed over as he stares blankly into space, lost in thought. You drop one hand to stop his hips, the other still planted gently on his cheek.
"Astarion, my love" You call softly, as not to startle him "Are you alright?"
He jumps slightly, frantically painting his face with a smile full of fake warmth "Yes my darling?" He responds in his usual seductive tone.
"We can stop for now if you'd like." You smile, rubbing his cheek with your thumb. He gasps slightly at the touch, leaning into it with a sigh.
"I'm sorry my dear" He seems to almost break, his eyes closing as his body begins to loosen.
"Don't apologize my love" You rub his back as you softly coax his head against your chest as he reluctantly pulls out of you. His hair has a small knot in the back where your fingers would thread themselves through for support, using gentle fingers you brush it out.
His breath slows as you feel his ear press against your chest, his hands on your sides with a small grip, almost as if he's afraid you'll slip away. You tuck a loose lock of silver hair behind his pointy ear and hum softly, a song you commonly hear him humming to himself in moments of stress or discomfort.
It's almost magical, how his body fits perfectly against yours, how all his muscles relax at your touch.
"Do you mind me asking what's the matter?" You continue to lavish his head with soft rubs and massages.
He groans softly "I guess I.." He sighs "Thought that since, I was the one who had the idea to do this" He frowns "I had no right to ruin the moment and stop halfway, I've gotten so used to just forcing myself through it.."
You nod, kissing his head tenderly "Even if you ask for it, hell beg even, but suddenly want to stop, you have every right to" You reassure him "I could never be mad at you for voicing your discomfort."
He mumbles in appreciation, unsure of how to respond.
"Besides, there's otherways we can be intimate!" You motion to his body pressed against your own "This for example" You chuckle lightly.
He looks up at you cautiously, tears brimming in the corners of his eyes, threatening to roll down his face.
You kiss his eyelids softly, brushing nonsense shapes into his back with a soft pressure.
"You're here with me ok?" You whisper "You're safe" you emphasize as his chest inflates and collapses against you with soft cries.
"I love you, even in a world where we could never have sex, I would be the happiest person on this planet" You chuckle "Hells every planet for that matter."
He laughs softly along with you, a loving smile spreading across his face "You are the best thing to ever happen to me, not even being able to relish in the sunlight could compare to how I feel being with you."
You dramatically gasp "Why I compare to the sun?" Your eyes widen jokingly.
He kisses you softly to shut you up.
As the kiss breaks you both stare into each others eyes, mapping every crease, crack, wrinkle, and shimmer.
"Perhaps we can go to that hot spring we found not too long ago and have a bath?" He nearly whispers as he runs a hand through your rats nest hair.
"I'd love nothing more."
Even if one is to say yes at the start, they have all the right to change their mind.

Finished the FF16 demo and while I had a decent time with the combat (don't believe the internet though this is hardly DMC level of combat don't expect that sort of depth) I found—to my horror—that I did not care about anything that was going on in the game.
Nothing about its setting felt remotely interesting, none of the characters are any fun to watch, I cannot tell you a single personality trait of any of the cast members. FF15 ran circles around 16 personality wise in its first 5 minutes where you just push a car with the bros than 16 did in 3 hours of its demo. Every character can be boiled down to "some guy with a thick british accent".
It takes itself so seriously, and not in the charmingly hammy way Final Fantasy takes itself so seriously. There's blood and gore and heaps of Clive saying "Fuck!" and two pairs of characters that almost fuck so you know it's all adult and this ain't your mama's Final Fantasy back when they would censor Barrett by having him say "sh't", but shit dude you gotta give me a reason to care first and playing through all that while also reading every lore entry in their big codex that you can check anytime during cutscenes* never gave me a reason to care.
I don't like any of this. I'm pretty damn easy to please (I mean, I'm a fan of FF15, you don't have to be a very good or even finished game to please me) but this was some PGR vibes the way I was satisfied with the combat but was completely uninterested with the world and story no matter how much I tried to pay attention.
It's obviously very competently made. The accessibility options are especially impressive: you can customize SO much from getting a slowdown dodge prompt to actively dodge attacks yourself even with bad timing to just autododging and autocomboing if you really can't do real time combat, to having visual indicators for sounds from behind the camera if you are hard of hearing, to having a dedicated button telling you where to go in case you forget, there's a lot of good stuff in here. It makes my apathy with the game all the more frustrating.
I'm pretty disappointed. I really wanted to see a singleplayer story made by the FF14 Shadowbringers creative team, since I keep hearing it's peak FF but can't play it for myself, but this did not excite me even a little.
I suddenly appreciate FF7R more now. I got to hand it to the weird Destiny ghosts I was too busy getting mad at them to ever actually get bored.
* actually kind of a rad idea btw. Getting to press a button and get an explanation in case you don't remember who this guy in the current cutscene is is a really good feature for working adults that can't really play through a game straight and remember every detail.

Hi. I know ur very into Dirge (ff7) and wanted to know ur thoughts on the ending as i was confused. How did Wiess die, how long was he dead for and what was his and Nero’s plan? Ur a art account so don’t answer this if you don’t want to post not art content
HAHA oh anon, oh anon.
i'm always happy to blather about dirge but this... this goes into the deep lore. the forgotten lore. the lore of ancient bygone times.
by which i mean playonline.
playonline was a short lived multiplayer mode set in deepground where the player character is a tsviet. it lasted for about eight months and then went offline, and with it - went basically all of the lore surrounding deepground.
we're still missing a lot of information. but, we have a vague understanding of what's going on thanks to the cutscenes (which we also never got stateside) translated by grimoire valentine. you can watch that here and it explains a little bit.
the tl;dr is that Weiss had a virus in him and if he killed the Restrictors (DeepGround's jailers, there's a whole mess of lore there) then the time-release virus would be let loose and Weiss would be damning himself to die.
Now, this is sort of where things get shaky as we don't know how long it took the virus to kill Weiss, nor are we entirely certain when PlayOnline took place in the grand scheme of things. Rosso said that they killed their jailers three years ago, and at some point Weiss died and Nero started pretending to be Weiss to keep DeepGround in line, and then Hojo made contact with Nero and proposed the whole Omega deal.
But we don't know when any of these beats take place. Weiss could have been dead the full three years and Nero was just hanging out by his corpse in full delululand until Hojo found a perfectly good body just waiting to be inhabited. I think it's a safe bet to say that even if Weiss had died, Nero would have found a way to perserve the body in hopes of finding some kind of cure.
( There's also the possibility that Weiss' death was more a brain death and his body kept breathing / he was experiencing some kind of 'locked in' syndrome - again, we don't know!)
He also could have just been battling the illness and may have only died recently.
I believe it was said somewhere that he died while using his SND abilities to hunt for a cure, which probably only could have happened once the networks came back online. I was under the impression for years that Hojo possessed Weiss and told the plan to Nero, but after reading the Japanese script it seems that Nero knew it was Hojo the whole time and just went with it.
Again, shit is shaky. Hojo Jojo apparently needed the networks to come online in order to make contact with DeepGround again. We know that's fairly recent, as if I am remembering correctly, that's what the festival in Kalm is celebrating.
We also aren't sure if Weiss was involved in the plan, or if Nero had just lost his fucking mind at this point and was agreeing to do what Hojo proposed without considering that it was - y'know, Hojo. We do have Weiss' speech so it's entirely possible Weiss was still alive during this hunk of it and then died as things went on.
As for the plan - I gotta be honest, I don't think either of them were spearheading this thing. I'm pretty sure this whole hysterical idea came about because Hojo took advantage of Nero's intense grief and Nero was just doing shit without thinking too hard about it. He probably thought he was doing what Lucrecia did for Vincent, because I sure as shit don't think Nero would think destroying the entire planet to get his brother back would solve his problem of 'well fuck, we're separated by death'. So I'm not sure Nero even fully understood what would happen when Omega ascended until Hojo monologued about it and pissed him off enough to come back from the dead.
Nero and Weiss only really got a plan when Nero ( who, I'm still shaky on what's happening with Nero in those final moments. My best guess is his physical body finally gave out and due to Circumstances /gestures vaguely at chapter 9 of rebirth/ his soul can't go into the lifestream for Reasons) wrested control back from Hojo and fused with Weiss. They did intend to just give the middle finger to the planet and soar the stars, because at that point - what else can they do? But Omega was corrupted because Nero is as impure as things in the lifestream can get, and so they manifested a fucked up version of it.
My personal take is the brother's didn't fully fuse and that the "omega" weiss rides around in the Omega Weiss fight is what's left of Nero / is basically what Chaos would look like if Chaos wasn't using Vincent as a host? And the reason why Chaos "goes back to the planet" is because Chaos fucks off into Nero's body and Omega is still sort of chilling out in Weiss.

My Review Of The Movie "Red, White Royal blue".
Hello, how are you? So today I came to give my honest opinion of the movie, Red white Royal blue. And the reason I'm talking Only now is because I'll just watch the movie one of these days (🤡) I'll talk about the positives and negatives and I thought of the movie at the end.
____________________________________________
First Impressions 💜
Tumblr media
I saw this movie for the first time through reviews on youtube, I admit I didn't find it that interesting at first I haven't seen any of these videos so I didn't get any spoilers for the movie.
but when I was browsing Prime Video I found this movie and thought "I have nothing to do I'll watch it, maybe I'll like it". So this is where my new obsession started.
To start the film is amazing! I know there will be people who don't like it. But I can't forget to mention that (Taylor and Nick) did an amazing job as (Alex and Henry).
I'll be real I don't like romance. But this movie in particular made me like it. Everything about this movie works and works so well. Everything is so incredible I will protect this movie until I die.
In short, I started the film in disbelief and ended up converted. the movie is really fun to watch the couple besides having chemistry They are wonderful. The cutscenes are magical when watched for the first time. The note I will give at the end.
____________________________________________
Positive Points 💖
Tumblr media
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this movie is perfect, obviously it's in my top 3 best movies ever. But now I will talk about the points that pleased me most in the movie.
The personalities of the protagonists.
The mood of the movie.
The motivation of the characters.
The Kissing Scenes.
the hot scenes.
the comedy scenes
The soundtrack.
The chemistry that the protagonists have.
the dialogues are very good.
Romance works awesome (better than many movies)
The way they approach sensitive topics
The evolution that the main characters have with the passage of the movie
the movie is long.
The actors are amazing at their job.
The scenes are simply to thrill anyone, they are so good.
The support that the characters have.
the entire movie is great on its own.
Despite being based on the book, the movie has its own story.
The movie manages to convey exactly the emotion it wants to convey.
The references!
Protagonists aren't Boring (they're the best I've ever seen)
They don't romanticize crime (as many romance movies do (365 Days specifically))
The main points that I found most relevant From the movie I liked the most (I liked several others too but I only put my favorites).
____________________________________________
Negative Points 💔
Tumblr media
This session is going to be pretty vague and quick as I didn't find anything relevant enough to post here (and the movie doesn't have any really significant negatives) but I will mention here the most relevant and important ones that I found.
Henry's mother is unimportant in the movie although in the book she is quite important.
June is not present in the movie.
Miguel Ramos (I just hate the character in a way you have no idea)
Didn't have the wedding of the protagonists 😭
Well, it was just three negative points that I found really relevant,And also because I didn't find any other errors Meaningful to put in this topic. So it's going to be really short (which won't be the case for the next one)
____________________________________________
My Favorite Scenes 💜💖
1 - New year party 💖
Tumblr media
What could I say about this scene? Is so perfect in so many layers that I don't even know where to start.. The way in which the other guests fall to the ground as the two protagonists stare at each other is so gratifying. an eye candy. When I saw it for the first time I thought to myself "This is it! This is my favorite movie ever" You can see the chemistry! I was like "Fuck, what a freakout I'm having" my heart was going to stop and I didn't know what to do, Just.
The way they look at each other, the music playing in the background, you can see it and something so magical and magnificent that I can't find words to describe this cinematic wonder. Amazon prime You hottie! You did the best job you could. And the director of that movie was the best.I can't look at this scene without feeling happiness leaping into my eyes.
2 - They First Kiss 💘
Tumblr media
I already knew that at some point this scene was going to happen, but when it happens it's so good but so good that it took me by surprise.and as amazing as all this happens, I sometimes wonder how they managed to make something as amazing as amazing as the book.
The way Alex is slow to understand things makes me identify with him, And the way Henry is impatient just makes me think they were really meant for each other.
3 - Museum Scene 💗
Tumblr media
for anyone who watched the movie knows how symbolic this scene really is.I think it's so cool to see them dancing among the statues, the music makes the scene even better. just facts.
What made me like this scene the most is how romantic it is. This is one of the many scenes in the movie that made me feel Good, the way the scene is Serene, Calm, smooth and silent You hear nothing but the music. And this scene where we also have the famous "history, Huh?" it's just so amazing to me.
____________________________________________
Final Notes 💟
Tumblr media
well, there are many scenes that I loved in the movie, I only put three because they were the ones that I found most symbolic. now The movie in general is great Because in addition to having such good Scenes the actors did a great job.
Random Opinion 💖
- Zahra It's the best character Change my mind.
- Miguel is the character I hate the most in history.
the movie is amazing i will protect it until my death as i mentioned earlier. If there are a thousand movies I will watch a thousand movies no matter what! That's it kisses.
Note I give for the Movie : 10/10

I tried SO hard to like SIGNALIS. It has everything I love, the puzzles, the easy to enjoy gameplay loop. But I just couldn't get into it. I had no idea what was happening the entire time, I didn't even know elsters name until the end. I understand it's cosmic horror and it's meant to drive you mad but I dont find that fun!
The main reason I checked it out was because it was meant to be like silent hill and it certainly is but something is missing. By the end of sh2 for example I always understood what James had done and why. The endings were just him redeeming himself in various ways. Sort of got the endings here but not how we got there.
No one asked but since I have a foundation degree in games design here's how I'd fix the parts of SIGNALIS that drove me nuts.
Elster never speaks outside of cutscenes and there's not much dialogue in them. Give us a diary of her thoughts, explaining how she's feeling about what's going on. I found it hard to care about elster and Ariane because I couldn't understand what was happening in game and how it related to them. Elster is almost a blank slate and I personally have no investment in this story. Letting me know elsters thought process would get me more invested.
The 6 slot inventory system is atrocious. Yes yes rule of 6 and all that but it's still terrible. You're telling me I'm trapped in dream of a mining planet with not a single bag I could use to hold more shit??? Could Ariane not have Dreamt me up a holdall? Or make it like re4 where things have sizes. A rifle shouldn't take up as much space as a tarot card.
A glossary of the enemies, characters and locations would be REALLY interesting. I don't know if it's BC I'm stupid but I found it hard to keep track of everyone because most of the characters are numbered rather than named.
I am begging y'all to just explain a few things blatantly. What is the connection between Ariane and aline aside from looks. Why would the government send a useful bioresinance human like Ariane on a suicide mission? If ISA was dead the whole time how and why is she there in arianes dream loop??? How can falke be both Ariane and elster ??? What's going on with Adler? How are the other replikas you talk to not going mad?
Again maybe I'm just fuckin stupid but I had to watch a 2 hour video explaining the most basic concept of the game to me. You can say the story is ment to be obtuse and up for interpretation but I couldn't Intuit shit. I was SO confused the entire time which is a shame BC I was having fun playing.
Edit
ALSO EPILEPSY MODE WOULD BE NICE. IM TRYING TO LEARN ABOUT THE SAD SPACE LESBIANS NOT HAVE A SEIZURE OR MIGRAINE.

Rambling about scrapped projects so I don't feel like the work went to waste
Tumblr media
I've only really made like, 3 little games. Which admittedly, I should be trying to make myself Finish more projects just so I can get more experience and be able to reliably work on something larger. Inbetween, I get the spark to make a buncha different ideas that usually don't get very far for one reason or another. I know this is a bad habit, and I'm tryin' to work on it.
Otherwise though, gonna talk about a few projects where I wanna show off what little work I did put in before deciding I was better off killing it, including a "follow-up" to Grenade Volley.
This is just some not-even-prototype-level stuff with myself rambling about things I wanted to do. So be warned before hitting read more!
Drivin' Breach
youtube
So this was started in part based on my desire to create something utilizing the Grenade Volley world with a more "safe" gameplay style. I absolutely love old distance games, like Learn to Fly, Kitten Cannon, Shopping Cart Hero, etc etc but I realized it wasn't a super common style of game these days so wanted to take a crack at making one.
I had the basics of it going and I was pretty proud of what I had artistically and in terms of tone. Ambitiously, I even wanted a fully animated opening cutscene, but in hindsight that might've been a bit much to try and pull off.
To try and set it apart, I imagined that one main hook would be having a wide variety of "special items" that you could used to propel yourself further, each one controlling differently for players that wanted some variety, and maybe even implementing individual upgrade lines for said special items. I wanted to make the "Magic Tail" item a buttplug tail.
youtube
After a bit of time of working I just realized things weren't coming together how I would've liked them to. Physics weren't quite satisfactory, I couldn't figure out how to implement gliders, and I wasn't super confident about balancing it to stretch the game out but also make it feel rewarding. Those combined with waning passion for the project just kinda killed it off. I was pretty proud of the art and stuff I did for it, though, and what I had going so far.
I also ended up applying some of the code (where the world moves around the player, allowing for infinite movement) to Downhill to Infinity!
(Also that shop music you here is Closed on Sundays by Mana Junkie, a CC3.0 track I found online)
Earth Servant Ms. Usagi
youtube
I was super enthusiastic about this one for a while!! I was stoked about the idea of making a game using Ms. Usagi because she was one of my many characters made with games in mind from the get-go. I ended up settling on this weird mix of Megaman-style, fast platforming, and stylish melee combat. Notice, though, the animations are not finished at ALL.
I wanted to push fun and snappy combat, encouraging the player to bounce between enemies while using environment and speed to their advantage. Think like a hectic anime fight where the main character is running around boppin' every bad guy while darting between them. A style meter was also applied, rewarding chained attacks.
To go over the moveset: Attacking from a standstill performs an uppercut, attacking in the air performs an air kick. If you only tap the attack button for the air kick, it stops Usagi in mid-air and keeps her close to the enemy. If you hold it, however, it will both put her current speed into the kick AND launch the enemy according to said speed. Holding down while attacking in the air will slam to the ground. She also has a blaster move that's especially good for continuing combos. For defense, I added dashing maneuvers and a block/parry inspired by MGR.
Tumblr media
I still think this kick feels fuckin sick to pull off.
Few problems came up. First one was just plain ol' being scared of level design, but that one I coulda bruteforced through. More importantly at one point I took a break and went back to it later only to realize that it Wasn't Fun. Movement felt way too slippery, I wasn't making the fast momentum-based movement blend well with the fast combo-based combat. If I wanna do anything like this again, I'd have to figure out a better way to blend this.
Either way, I know for certain I'd LOVE to make a Ms. Usagi game in the future, I think she could make for something very fun and poppy and stylish.
BONUS
youtube
During one of the beta versions of Godot 4, I had short-lived thoughts of wanting to make a wave-based FPS to play with its 3D features. I wanted the game to have a gross, crusty aesthetic. It never got far at all, but I made a "gore harvester" machine for it and I still really like that thing. It was fun to draw such ugly textures.

just finished my first run of bg3. spoilers for basically everything, although i don't actually go into too much detail abt the actual climax, more the ending cutscenes and companion quests.
i love jergal so much. that just needs to stand on its own. he's such a sassy skeleton git who hides the fact he still cares for humanity under it all - his scene with arabella was one of my favourite moments of the entire game.
(on that note, anyone else assuming his whole "follow the weave" thing to her is him basically protecting her? finding her in act 3 surrounded by four dead adults while she has a nary a scratch certainly makes me think she's got some secret godly supervision going on).
anyway - the ending.
i think that if i hadn't been warned that there aren't any epilogue slides, i would've been disappointed. so i'm glad i knew that, even it still felt a bit abrupt because of it. but hey! given larian's history with expanded/definitive editions, i'm guessing we'll either get it in a patch several months from now or in bg3's expanded edition.
personally, i think the section from when you enter the morphic pool to when you kill the netherbrain feels very rough and abrupt. very rough. but the rest of the game is just so stupidly perfect as far as i'm concerned, with like one exception for the cut content for karlach. which is blatantly obvious even without looking at datamining, because why else would we get a ton of different types of infernal metal in act 3?
and god i would've loved to see the upper city (as advertised, larian!) and the ducal palace before it all went to shit. cazador's palace was clearly meant to be there, and i was really looking forward to my urchin tav (malias) actually walking around the upper city and having opinions.
(on that note, i loved that bust gortash has in his office [which was presumably meant to be in the ducal office but anyway!] where the founder of the counting house was an ex-urchin who didn't give a shit abt the patriars because they never cared for him before he became important. malias absolutely would've found that an inspiration for any upper city shenanigans)
but those ending cutscenes on the pier? pretty great, even if i was internally screeching the whole time gale was talking because hey astarion is right there in the sunlight and he doesn't have a tadpole. but thank god gale was just like "yeah, you're right, leaving it there is probably a good idea".
and his line abt some things being more important than power! i adore that line. it's essentially the point of everyone's quests, that power imprisons you and the most important thing in life is the freedom to choose. and of course gale is the one to verbalise that, and to openly say how fond he is of everyone!
then gale made his slightly dickish comment about astarion fleeing, lol. boys, please.
honestly that felt hilariously fitting to my playthrough where i accidentally fell into romancing gale while intentionally romancing astarion, and broke it off with gale (despite never actually being with him). yes buddy, i know you're still a bit salty about that. please wait until malias isn't distraught over their boyfriend literally burning up and running off in front of them.
(to detour for a moment - again, thank you larian for letting me play a nonbinary characters. honestly, that alone makes it a game in its own sphere of perfection, especially since vtmb 2 originally promised that then cut it then maybe it's back in with the new studio??? genuinely perked up with happiness whenever someone used the right pronouns or referred to malias in a clearly gender neutral way.)
even if astarion fleeing and his lines about it were genuinely agonising. at least the romanced cutscene with him started immediately afterwards - i was kinda debating between the "heroes" and "sunlight" options, but honestly? as absurdly good-aligned as malias is, i absolutely think they'd value helping astarion to have the freedom to walk in the sun over being heroes. pretty sure this whole adventure has shown they're pretty good at that multi-tasking element lol. and i love that astarion is so happy about going on another adventure.
like not to go tmi, but astarion's character and plot was... painfully relatable, especially when he just started sobbing after killing cazador, and it's just so good that you can give him a happy future. not an ending, of course, because i don't doubt he and malias will get into a fuckton of mischief, but like he says - he's free! it's just such a perfect moment. my favourite companion and companion quest by an absolute country mile.
i'm also just internally assuming that malias sprinted off after astarion as soon as karlach's near death brush was finished - i am so glad i went the "have my cake and eat it" route of breaking wyll's pact and saving his dad regardless. it lets wyll and malias/tav persuade karlach to return, swearing that she'll be safe from zariel, and personally malias would absolutely be looking for a way to help karlach return safely while off finding a way for astarion to walk in the sunlight.
(also i'm a bit curious abt what others think - there's a little bit of ambiguity abt whether it's just going for the sunlight, or straight up curing his vampiric nature. after all, as his grave inscription happily points out, he was turned 194 years ago and the true resurrection time limit is 200 years. since gale wants to stick around, he can call in a favour with elminster to figure out a way to do that.)
and to backtrack for a second, i am happy that malias persuaded lae'zel to make her own path instead of following orpheus' orders! was it selfish? probably, yeah, which was a bit surprising from how otherwise strongly good-aligned malias is but between that and the mindflayer choice after freeing orpheus (i asked orpheus to do that), i just... think malias doesn't want to lose that.
to explain smth for a sec, i'm going back and forth on whether to keep malias' backstory as is (urchin/orphan who grew up in the lower city) or to make them my dark urge character. from what i've heard of the dark urge, it really ties into my favourite character dynamics and themes (and seems a bit reminiscent of kotor lol), so it's a little bit of debate.
but either way, i think malias would override any moral concerns of goodness for "fuck that, this is my family and i am not losing them". regardless of which backstory i end up picking, that's definitely staying the same. but malias as a former orphan and street kid sure as fuck isn't giving up on their new and beloved family. so yeah, i think the moral concerns of "ok you were just told to go save the githyanki as a whole" would be pushed to the side of "you've always been following orders your entire life, i want you to be free".
and if lae'zel chooses to go help the gith regardless? that's great. but malias would want it to be her choice, not orders she feels obligated to follow.
i also love that you get to say "yes, let's go to the pub to celebrate!". even if we don't see it on-screen, i just love it. those fuckers (astarion included once someone managed to throw something thick enough over him so he didn't burn en route) absolutely partied until they crashed and they fucking deserved it. i love my found family shit so much. and i'm guessing that probably ties into the cut epilogue stuff, even if that was meant to be six months later.
but yeah. i just fucking love it all. now time to do my dark urge run, which i heavily suspect will also be an astarion romance again just bc i'm curious how those differences pan out.

Hoo boy, so how long before we get potential discourse on how this comic contradicts the established Crash Bandicoot timeline?
After all, Crash Purple/Spyro Orange had Ripto and Cortex meeting prior to Rumble ever being a spark in Toys for Bob's eyes.
I would say spin-off games in the series are kind of loose in terms of the canonical narrative, but Crash Bandicoot has kind of been an exception to that rule, in that characters first appearing in the forty billion racing spin-offs seem to return (Oxide) with implication that said spin-off happened, or the rest of the games supported extensive cutscenes and an actual plot that it stands to reason that they could all feasibly have happened canonically.
Rumble seem to follow in that; there's no plot to be found within the game, but these comics have served as nice bits of lore for us to chew on. There's not much to hone on, but would I not be a foolish student of Crashology to leave even the shallowest narrative uninterpreted? Unexamined? Left to rot in the sun like that?
I never bought the idea that Crash Bandicoot 4 was meant to be a thorough reboot of the franchise sans the OG Naughty Dog games, because there really wasn't much to contradict that latter games after Crash 4 still couldn't happen. Dingodile joining up with Crash's team (at the least, pragmatically, he seem to be a neutral force here driven by circumstances more than anything) might be the closest cutting off point since he's working for Cortex come Wrath of Cortex (Crash 4 never explains why he quit the ol' mad doctor's group, he just did for some reason), but now that Rumble's out, particularly with this comic, I'm now beginning to wonder if this is the creators' way of essentially wiping the slate as clean as they could and starting the franchise off from scratch.
And I think it needs it.
Oh, for sure, I'd argue it's yet another reworking of the franchise (Crash of the Titans kind of felt like one, even if, as far as I know since I never played it, they don't technically disown the timeline prior to its release) to revitalize and retool the poor series yet again, but this time, there's been a decade long gap - long enough for fans to lament what could have been, what we wished, and eventually, move on from it (well, some of us anyway.)
I was ready to call the franchise dead in the waters by, like, Year 8, wistful that they didn't get the send-off it deserved. Fact of the matter was, the last few games or so have just been a complicated, hot mess. Nobody seem to know what the hell they wanted to do with Crash the moment it fell out of Naughty Dog's hands. Not from lack of trying (and some developers did try), but it lingered around as either a pastiche of the OG game, a wacky-for-the-sake-of-wacky that varied in tolerance with its humor, or a sea of Dreamworkian pop cultural references - it was a mess. It was a HOT. MESS.
THIS comic, however, seem to signify that yes, come Crash 4: It's About Time, the whole ass franchise, after a decade of nothing, whih came after a decade of identity crisis, meant not only is this semi-reboot expected, but is downright necessary.
You could arguably just make A New Crash game that fittingly continues where it left off without acknowledging any of the past games, but with the assumption that it all happened, but ripping off that loaded, blood-chunked bandage for something visibly new, is probably the best this series, at this time, is going to get and ultimately needs.
Cut off the excess and start from where it was at its most simple, then slowly reintroduce the latter Crash elements. It does suck, if you are a fan of the latter-era Crash fans, to essentially be told after CTR that the rest of the games after is potentially no longer canon (Crash 4's announcer during the end credits certainly lampshades it, too.) This comic pretty heavily cements it, but man, it already does it so much better by introducing Ripto back into the Crashverse in just two pages of a comic versus an entire GBA game where he and Cortex... somehow share a universe and just... team up, I guess???
Of course Ripto crashes the party via a portal. Crash and Spyro's worlds are two vastly different places that sharing it together, while not impossible in the right hands, is tonally contradictory. Spyro's world is fantastical whimsy, Crash is sci-fi madness.
And it isn't like latter Crash characters cannot return. Crash 4's ending showed that absolutely CAN be the case.
Tumblr media
Guys. GUYS. Nina's still here. Those two awful chicken announcers are still here.
The OG Crash games never really had the deepest stories, with only literal floating heads occasionally spouting the next motive. Having Crash 4 start from there WITH an elaborate narrative is probably the best starting point. There is no reason why any of the others cannot return in new, interesting roles while paying lip service to their older roles.
Setting aside complicated feelings on reboots notwithstanding, Crash Bandicoot really did needed a reset button, and if it means retooling the established canon in a metaphorical Crisis of Infinite Earths way, then so be it.
So yeah, the comic basically told us Crash Purple/Spyro Orange did not happen. And damn it, I think that's for the best.
Tumblr media
On a final note, love this panel. For sake of gameplay, you're allowed to pick whichever character you want, but Rumble's lore seem to imply that villains stay on their end while, presumably, the heroes stay on their side. I guess Ripto serves as a third wheel who decided to muck things even further.
Also, I think Brio is saying Spyro's Japanese translated name, which is amazing cuz' anyone with basic Spyro trivia knowledge knows Ripto's name came from how the Japanese letters look when spelling out the purple dragon's name.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: What DLCs Would Survive Galeem??
I always found it a little backwards that only Kirby survived. Even if he was the only one with the ability to live, he would've helped someone else (like Meta Knight or King Dedede), but I just bought it. But with the additions of the DLC Fighters, there's never an explanation as to how they got there or if they were a part of Galeem's army. So that's where I come in. I'm going to decide what DLCs would survive and who wouldn't!!
NOTICE: I am by NO means experienced in all of these games!! A lot of my knowledge is from Smash and Smash only, so if I get facts wrong, feel free to correct me!! I'd love to hear all of your guys' ideas as well!!
So of course, there are rules and limits. If there weren't, almost everyone would live.
Nobody can latch a ride with Kirby/any other potential survivor. As I said earlier, if they were able to do that, Meta Knight and Dedede would be alive.
As said earlier, most of my knowledge is based off of what they can do in SMASH. But that doesn't limit it. I researched several characters' abilities to make sure my claims were as accurate as someone with no idea can.
With that, let's get into it!!
Joker: Not a Survivor
Joker is pretty much a normal teenager, and Arsène doesn't have anything that would help Joker escape?? I'm pretty sure that there are a few things in P5 that might have allowed him to survive? But as far as I know, no, he wouldn't.
Tumblr media
Hero: Not Sure?? Leaning: No
I know nothing about Dragon Quest, but I feel like Hero would be in the same boat as characters like Link and Cloud, where they can try but ultimately they're gonna get captured. The only reasons I'm not sure is because of Hero's reveal where they save Link from Marth and Meta Knight, implying they were alive? But I don't think they actually survived and that that was just a way to advertise them.
Banjo & Kazooie: Not Survivors
Banjo & Kazooie would be in the same boat as Duck Hunt. They don't seem to have anything outstandingly useful to win with, so unfortunately they probably wouldn't live.
Tumblr media
Terry Bogard: Not a Survivor
Terry is the most human out of the bunch for DLC pack one (aside from Joker, but even then, Joker has Arsène). He really doesn't have anything to fight against Galeem with and almost no means of escape. Terry unfortunately wouldn't live.
Tumblr media
Byleth: Not Sure?? Leaning: Yes
Byleth, unlike the other Fire Emblem cast, has Sothis, who I think has been seen helping Byleth escape one place to get to another. Of course, I'm guessing based on the reveal trailer, and have no prior context to what that cutscene actually was. I still think Byleth could survive.
Tumblr media
Min Min: Not a Survivor
Similarly to Terry, Min Min is just a stretchy human. She doesn't have anything all that special other than her arms. Min Min probably wouldn't survive.
Tumblr media
Steve/Alex: Survivors!!
Our first definite survivors of the bunch, and they're the minecraft reps. Any shock? Anyways, this one is situational. But I'm gonna count it since the Star Fox gang AND Captain Falcon conveniently had their ships. So, how would they do it? Nether portals. If Steve and Alex build a Nether portal and go through it, Galleem probably couldn't get them, since I think the light would just break the portal on contact since it acts more like a weapon than an entity. So congrats, Steve and Alex, to be the first of three definite survivors!!
Tumblr media
Sephiroth: Take a guess. (Survivor!)
Listen, Sephiroth can slice Galeem in half. Considering that, I think he could avoid Galeem's attacks. Under the assumption that he doesn't kill Galeem so that World of Light can actually happen.
Tumblr media
Pyra + Mythra: Not Survivors
As far as I'm aware, neither of them have any abilities that could help them escape, since they seem human or equivalent? So they wouldn't make it, most likely.
Tumblr media
Kazuya: Not Sure?? Leaning: No
Kazuya was weird to me. I'm not a huge fighting game person other than SSB, so I knew nothing about Tekken. After some google searches, I leaned to the side he wouldn't survive. He's mostly human, but even with his Devil's Gene, more powerful characters (like Ganondorf) also lost, so he wouldn't survive. I think.
Tumblr media
Sora: Survivor!!
My main!!! Even though I love Sora, I'm not biased! I haven't played Kingdom Hearts. But based off of a few searches, and his Final Smash, I believe he can open portals with his Keyblade. Unlike Steve and Alex, he can open portals under less circumstances. So the place of our third and final survivor goes to no other than Sora!
Tumblr media
To finish it off, the DLC packs brought some very powerful characters that could survive World of Light. I wish we had gotten some explanation as to what happened to the DLCs, but I get it. Cutscenes are hard to make. Again, these are all my ideas, and I might not be right! If you have something to add, feel free! I'd be glad to hear from you! If you got this far, thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed!!

Good Stuff: The Super Mario Bros Movie
Tumblr media
A fan shouldn't always sugarcoat it. Even if you get something you never figured you'd ever want but appreciate a lot, that doesn't mean a bias should bury any deeper feelings. What I'm getting at is Illumination's Super Mario Bros Movie can be so awesome and it was worth going to the theaters to see personally, but I can't get over the crippling flaw it has to say it was as great as I could say now. Better to be honest now than get increasingly unfulfilled later. First, though, I gotta give the props where they are due.
Tumblr media
First, Bowser was The Best in this and I want him
For real, the animation was what I waiting for this whole time, no problems here. The film is fun. If it wasn't fun, that means Disney would've made it and it'd never come out anyways because of "creative differences". Illumination I found can make animations that are really bouncy fun, and it's best shown here. Plus the characters look incredible, DK especially, and there are moments where, in the best way, it felt like a cutscene from a video game I would want to play. Not to snipe at the Sonic movies, but this is seriously what I've wanted from video game movies since... Angry Birds 2? Like enough with the hybrid live-action crap, make a cartoon if the sourced game is about a CARTOON universe. "You mean like Ratchet & Cla-"
Tumblr media
We do not... talk about that one.
This leads to something tricky I had in mind to discuss, and that's "faithfulness". Not long ago I watched the 1993 Mario Bros movie, a fiasco that one can argue was unfaithful to most of the source materials even with the few things they got right. Did we get something more suitable here? Well, I definitely wasn't annoyed with the fucking stupid discourse surrounding Peach's characterization and Mario's voice that's for sure. Many will cite this as having a great fuckton of references but I enjoyed the liberties they took whether or not they were references. The fact it starts out in Brooklyn made me already smile but the final act had my booty jiggle with unhinged glee. There's some corniness to it, especially with the certain musical needle drops they do, but even then it felt like they reveled in the corniness of those moments. This made me believe Nintendo and Illumination were looking to just make it excitable and enjoyable regardless of what fits where. It pains me though, knowing that there is that crippling flaw I mentioned at the beginning because while this film was fun, it went by fast. Ludicrously so... disjointedly so.
Tumblr media
It was the Apex Cinema Speedrun, if you will
Many negative reviews claim this has a very thin plot and I honestly didn't consider that a wholly bad thing. A thin plot doesn't mean it wasn't cohesive or focused, or that there weren't any arcs to be had. The real problem comes in that certain moments don't feel earned when we barely get any time to cherish them. The pacing of this was kinda atrocious, the tight runtime truly being a detriment behind ideas for characters getting brought up well only to have shallow payoffs. Peach and Luigi especially had something about them I wanted to see more of, but before you got to see the plant blossom, they keep chugging and you're like "Ah, that's it?" They didn't need to spell everything out but let the characters breathe.
Tumblr media
Bowser and DK felt like the exception
If this was the only movie we ever got again (knocking on wood), the fun of it all would soon subside for increased disappointment in the long run. I could say "This needs more movie" as a compliment, but that would mean I was fine with what we got. The live-action film, batshit as it was, felt consistent with everything it wanted to show and tell whether or not you saw the director's cut. That's why it became a cult hit, you remember how batshit it was. I genuinely enjoyed the film, but even with its many stand-out moments, it's gonna be hard to remember this film as much as I want to.
Tumblr media
Except for Lumalee, I don't ever wanna forget them
I won't tout this overall as mid or "playing it safe" because they did so much right with this. When I say they stuck the landing with the Mario brothers themselves, that genuinely got to me. When we got the adventure, I relished the adventure. Like for the love of god, give me more of all this PLEASE! However, I won't give it a pass and call it perfect just because it tickled the Nintendo fan in me. Illumination's great when it comes to being in the moment, that's why I stopped hating on them, but in terms of their films having staying power this being a Mario film is carrying it hard from being a potentially forgettable one. For me, this is the movie adaptation of the Super Mario Super Show I never knew I wanted but looked forward to and felt was worth it. At the same time, my mind is fighting my heart strong knowing this Mario movie could've definitely been stronger. My final say is that it's a 6/10 movie with 10/10 moments. If you're looking for fun, this delivers no doubt, and don't let this review stop you from calling it a personal masterpiece.

started playing Persona 5 Royal after finding out i accidentally bought Persona 5 regular (i was already about 4 hours into Persona 5 on merciless and had stopped at the shop where you buy stuff for the first time after the first dungeon when i found this out) instead of Royal and jesus fucking christ, i forgot how slow this game's opening is it's like two hours long before you actually even get into the game, just like an hour of (really well made!) animated scenes and cutscenes with minor (pretty pointless) sections of walking to locations before you even get to the actual school portion, which takes another fucking hour to really get going like, oh my god, this game does not understand what the word pacing means. every scene goes on for like 10 fucking minutes longer than it has to, it's a lot of pointless (attempts at) building intrigue which don't work because you're just being bombarded with them back to back and have no idea what the status quo is for any of it to have really any impact! i know it's like a 100-hour RPG or whatever but good god, just drop me into the school instead with a lore dump and let me PLAY THE FUCKING GAME ALREADY.
like it's truly nonstop, it's just going from establishing one thing after another like oh we're a stylish thief to oh we're fighting monsters to oh we have a friend to oh we were captured by pigs to oh we were betrayed to oh police brutality to oh we have a lawyer(?) to oh we stole someone's heart to oh someone's speaking to us from another realm(?) to oh we're back in time to oh cars keep crashing randomly to oh we were sued by somebody trying to SA someone to oh there's a weird app on my phone that somehow slowed down time to oh we were sent away by the courts and our family to oh we're living above a restaurant to oh we are talking to a guy in a dream who is talking about the world being ruined like it's NON FUCKING STOP. AND THE JOKE IS YOU CAN'T REMOVE ANYTHING WITHOUT A COMPLETE REWRITE OF THE OPENING OR A STRUCTURAL OVERHAUL OR 30 MINUTES OF NONSTOP TUTORIALS OR JUST AN ENDLESSLY LONG PARAGRAPH TYPING ALL THIS LORE OUT INSTEAD OF HAVING CHARACTERS SAY IT. like the casino scene is necessary to introduce you to context sensitive actions and what combat will look like, so you can't start in the interrogation room or start with you getting captured, the interrogation scene room is necessary to establish that it's a flashback and for you to select your name and shit and to establish that you're talking to someone and a lawyer and that you're a famous criminal and to establish that this larger spirit world exists and that your character has amnesia(?), you can't remove the going to the dude's house bc it's necessary to get you acquainted to the map and neighborhood and daily routine, you can't remove the scene with the app bc it becomes a running theme soon, like the opening HAS to be this way bc otherwise you'd overwhelm every player, even ones as diligent as me and as enthusiastic about playing in menus as outside of them, and you have to dole out the story in this way because there's so many concepts they don't expect you to know and that they have to effectively and efficiently introduce to you so that the rest of the game isn't constantly bogged down in pausing every ten seconds (though somehow i get the feeling it still will) to explain shit to you your character should already know like it's maddening bc it HAS to be this way but also it kinda doesn't.
anyway, i did enjoy the new fight in the opening that wasn't there in the original, definitely does a lot for building intrigue and making the identity of the person who apparently turned us in even more suspect since we have more of a connection with one of them because we fight next to her, which makes me think it's almost guaranteed to be that person whenever the reveal happens but anyway. i'm just like really exhausted at how slow this opening is, even though i know why it is this way. and how structurally they are fucking trying their best to be effective and efficient while setting and tone and a mood and an atmosphere instead of just having you read about it in a text box. i kinda can't stand all the vague shit in the dialogue tho, it's too much intrigue building crammed into a very small space and after a point you just start spacing out or ignoring the intrigue bc you know you're not gonna get answers for quite a while.

Murch: Listen up. We have a problem.
Coyote: Uh, who's that?
Murch: I'll get to that.
A.I.L.A.: What did you do this time, merchant?
Murch: Last night I sent 3 survivors on a supply run. I was monitoring them the whole time just in case our new "friends" decided to pay them a visit. Something attacked them and by the time I got there to help, it was too late.
Coyote: Sounds like a typical evening here.
Murch: No, Coyote this is different. I had positioned outside the deep night's range, and the aftermath there were none of the usual signs left behind. Before they died, one of the survivors took this picture. This isn't deep night. This is-
Val: -a Yeti.
Coyote: Ok what. Seriously who is she?
Murch: This is Val. She is part of my old crew back in my home timeline. You can trust her. I brought her here to help because she's an expert hunter. The best one I know. We need to take this thing out before it finds our camp.
Val: It is a pleasure to join you all. I wish it were under better circumstances. I have hunted many creatures in my time, but the yeti are illusive, and we should not take this threat lightly. We have to thread very carefully.
Coyote: Great, this situation just keeps getting weirder.
Murch: Val is going to track the yeti and prepare our survivors to take it down.
Val: I crafted a bow that should aid the survivors in our hunt. It won't deliver a killing blow, but it will slow it down enough to create a window of opportunity.
You then receive the Longbow gear and the Broadhead Arrows bundle.
Murch: A.I.L.A., it's time to field-test that new project you have been working on.
A.I.L.A: Excellent.
A.I.L.A.'s deconstructer charges up.
Murch: Yetis exist where Val and I come from but I didn't think there were any in this timeline. I'm curious to see what we'll find out. Let's get to it.
Commander: I don't appreciate your rag-tag team meddling with my operation.
Murch: Meddling? If you and your men had done your job, we wouldn't even had to intervene!
Commander: Well that "intervening" has created a problem. You didn't bother to clean up the body, did you? Do you have any idea what else was down there.
Coyote: Uh, Murch? What's he talking about?
Commander: My team was never there for the yeti. We were there to contain an infectious anomaly. The yeti, was unexpected. You left the body behind. You gave it exactly what it needed. You gave it a host. Now it's attacked our main outpost, infected countless men. It's spreading.
A.I.L.A.: This is not first time the merchant has made a critical error.
Murch: What do you need us to do?
Commander: I need you to clean up your mess. Unfortunately, most of my team has been wiped out in the attacks and we're short on men. You need to contain this, now.
Murch: We'll handle it. A.I.L.A., Coyote, let's get a sample of the substance, see if we can jerry-rig a technical solution together. Val, you mind sticking around a little longer?
Val: Whatever you need, Murch.
You then receive the Longbow gear and the Broadhead Arrows bundle.
Murch: Commander... sorry about your men.
Commander: Then let's consider it even.

[The Survivors return to the cabin via car with groceries]
Coyote: Oh, you're back? Did you get my slushie-
Murch: Ehem, welcome back. We just finished cleaning up down here, and got most of the debris blocking the lab's sub-level cleared out. Come on down.
[The Survivors take the groceries out of the car and enter the cabin, they put the groceries inside the fridge and then head to the basement lab to meet with the crew]
[Dialogue with Murch and Coyote before you trigger the first cutscene]
Murch: Could you even make it out? I had almost no time to grab anything before I left.
Coyote: I should myself, was stuck in there for like decades. This landscape full of nothing. Time felt like it was out of stance to me, just kept going until I found these exits, holes, things that led to places. Timelines, probably. Eventually found one that led here.
[The first cutscene starts to play]
Coyote: Anyways... There you are! ...Wait, no slushie?
Murch: Down to business, Coyote. Not the time for joking around.
Murch: As I'm sure you're all aware, last night the survivors ran into something unexpected. That monster from the attack of the cabin. The one that "killed" the slasher...
Murch: This one is real, it's not a manifestation like we're used to seeing. We already lost someone, and had serveral others injured.
Coyote: It seems like the Deep Night's starting to catch on to our plan.
Murch: We need to be much more careful going forward, and we need more info.
Murch: A.I.L.A., you've been sorting through the records and databases on these terminals, correct?
A.I.L.A.: Affirmative.
Murch: Do you have anything?
[A.I.L.A. displays the "Project Nocturne" hologram]
A.I.L.A.: I have found several references to a project called "Nocturne", records indicate they were attempting to fuse Deep Night matter into living organisms.
A.I.L.A.: ...The project was shuttered, after control over specimens had failed.
A.I.L.A.: ...Project was overse N B Y -_#"<^-_#"- Doctor Malcolm Orvhill.
Coyote: Wait wait wait. The owner of the cabin? Orvhill Energies? Didn't you guys tell me the guy died a few years ago?
A.I.L.A.: Accessing H.U.N.T. files on Doctor Malcolm Orvhill...
[A.I.L.A. accesses the H.U.N.T. Files and displays Dr. Malcolm Orvhill's data file hologram]
A.I.L.A.: Name: Malcolm Orvhill/ Occupation: Former Orvhill Enegeries CEO / Age: 84 / Status: Deceased / Cause of death: Natural causes
Coyote: This dude was tied up in some serious business. If that monster has been down here this long , how did it even escape? DId someone let it out?
Coyote: ...Are we sure that Orvhill is dead?
Murch: He's dead. If H.U.N.T. has files on this guy, then he's got to be.
Coyote: ...Hmm.
Murch: Regardless, looks like we have even more of a reason to check out the sub-level of the lab. We need to see if there is any information about this "Nocturne" project somewhere down there.
Murch: Maybe we'll find a weakness, and be able to put that monster down for good. Head on down, we'll wrap up here and be right behind you.
[The survivors head down to the lab stairwell and finds the first old computer (if interacted some dialogue will play), they head left and find a security center]
[The survivors enter the security center and pulls a power lever. The power lever activates the security cameras of the cabin and allows the survivors to open the blast door]
[The survivors interact with the blast doors but it doesn't open, it instead deactivates]
Murch: What was that? Survivors, did you touch something?
[The survivors triggers an alarm]
[Laboratory Security Intercom message starts playing in a distorted voice]
Lab Security Intercom: Se-urity al-rt. Warn-ng. Unat-orized person-el have entered th -ab-rato-y. Lock-own in-ti-ed.
Murch: Ahh, thats annoying. A.I.L.A., can you shut this thing up and remove the lockdown?
A.I.L.A.: Already in progress. [Hacking sounds]
Murch: Just hang tight, we'll have you out in a second.
[After a short amount of time, a loud roaring sound is heard and "Nocturne" starts breaking down the door]
Murch: What?! The monster! A.I.L.A., where are we at?! Can you get this open?!
A.I.L.A.: Negative. "Nocturne" will breach the room before i can override the lab security protocols.
Murch: Aagh! Put up a barrier at the lab entrance!
["Nocturne" starts breaking down the blast door with the 20-second death timer appearing on the survivor's screen]
Murch: Sorry survivors, but you got to find a way out of that room, and fast! In the meantime we'll work on finding you an alternative exit! Now go!
[The survivors enter a ventilation shaft to escape "Nocturne". During the vent sequence, "Nocturne" walks pass a vent and checks the vent before immediately running away]
[The survivors head towards the end of the vent which leads to a large office with the second old computer]
Coyote: Have you found them an exit yet, A.I.L.A.?
A.I.L.A.: Yes, forwarding location.
Murch: Alright you got that, survivors? We're on our way, and will meet up with you at the coordinates.
Murch: If you can swipe any info on your way without becoming monster chow, at least this situation won't be a complete loss. Stay safe.
[The survivors approach a second vent to reach sublevel exit to regroup with the gang while suddenly a barrier automatically shuts down the door next to the vent, which makes an alarm sound]
[The survivors enter the vent which they are now at the other side of the previous blast door with more alarms blaring, they then approach another vent to bypass a locked blast door]
[The survivors are now at the other side of the blast door which leads to a extremely large room with a Deep Night reactor core in the middle of the room, they then approach a cargo elevator to go to the lower floors]
[They went to the lower floors with more barriers blocking the door to reach to the exit, but suddenly "Nocturne" breaches the topper blast door and starts swinging at the ceiling to block off the survivors path, but he somehow doesn't attack]
[The survivors take an alternative route which a pair of black tentacles eat up the doors. The doors leads to a large ventilation shaft hallway with large wall fans, overgrown plants and even more dead bodies. The end of the hallway leads to a small room with multiple bunk beds, the third old computer and a vent. The survivors enter the final vent which leads to the laboratory's control centre, the final area before the survivors finally regroup with the gang]
[A cutscene plays which Murch, A.I.L.A. and Coyote are running in the halls to regroup with the survivors]
Murch: Survivors, you're still alive. Good, Let's get out of here, come on-
[A pile of goo in the middle of the room starts to emerge a large figure]
Murch: Everyone, get behind me.
[Murch takes out his revolver and nervously aim at the pile of goo]
[Unknown FIgure]: I have anticipated this moment for a very long time.
Murch: What is this?
[Unknown Figure]: Ah yes. The Great Merchant, savior to the timeline, how noble of you. To think that you can stop what is coming.
Coyote: Midnight's Shadow...
[The Unknown Figure's name is revealed to be Midnight's Shadow]
Midnight's Shadow: Thank you for fulfilling you end of the deal. I knew you were a wise one.
Murch: No... Coyote... What's going on? What did you do?
Coyote: I...I had no other choice. It either was help him, or stay stuck in there, forever. I'm sorry.
Murch: Coyote...
[Coyote takes out the Amplifier and hands it to Midnight's Shadow]
Midnight's Shadow: So cold of you to lie to your friends. Don't worry about it, I'm sure they will understand. After all, Murch is no stranger to manipulating those that trust him most. You told me to see purpose. And i have certainly found it.
Murch: Oh my god... Aiden? What happened to you?
Midnight's Shadow: I have become an emissary! You pushed me down this path, for that, I will grant you one mercy. Consider this the only opportunity to get ahead.
Midnight's Shadow: Embrace the cover of midnight now, for you cannot run from it much longer.
["Nocturne" teleports behind Midnight's Shadow and the door behind the gang closes]
Murch: A.I.L.A., find us an exit, now.
A.I.L.A.: In progress.
[A.I.L.A. uses her panel to find the nearest exit]
Midnight's Shadow: Pity, I had a feeling we would not see eye-to-eye on this. Do not worry about fleeing to the cabin. Consider this an eviction notice.
[Rubble starts falling off of the the ceiling]
Murch: I'm gonna kill you!
[Murch shoots Midnight's Shadow with his revolver four times]
Midnight's Shadow: [Laughs] Sorry to dissapoint you. I have to admit, I didn't expect you to find three of the amplifiers so fast, very good planning on your part. Orvhill hid them well, the things we can accomplish with this...
Coyote: I don't think so.
Midnight's Shadow: ...What?
Coyote: Well it all went according to plan right? I brought them hereand you got an "Amplifier"; just like you asked. We're done here.
[The amplifier on Midnight's Shadow's hands start to make an alarm sound which its pitch rapidly increases, seconds before exploding]
A.I.L.A.: Exit located.
Murch: Run!
[The crew runs to the exit and the amplifier explodes on Midnight's Shadow's hand]
[The gang escapes via a long catwalk which leads to a cargo elevator with a 30-second death timer initiated]
Midnight's Shadow: This is the beginning of the end! You have no idea how hopeless you are to stop us! Keep running! I WILL END YOU!
Murch: Go! Get to that cargo elevator!
[The crew successfully escape via a cargo elevator which leads to the outside, but the cabin they stay in had burned down, killing all the avatars inside the cabin]
[A.I.L.A. calls in a Tech V-tol to pick them up]
Murch: ...We need to leave
[The Tech V-tol arrives]
[The crew enter the Tech V-tol, only the avatars Chad, Hazmat and Hunter survived from the cabin fire]
Coyote: Listen, Murch. I'm sorry. I had no other-
Murch: I'll deal with you later!
[A.I.L.A's Tech V-tol warning goes off]
A.I.L.A.: Warning, incoming attack. Hang on.
[A.I.L.A.'s Tech Vtol gets shot down by an unknown object]
Murch: Everyone, brace for impact!

Old Computers Transcript
3 Old Computers can be interacted inside the mission which will have dialogue relating to Malcolm Orvhill's plans, the voice recordings are not Orvhill's voice but rather an unknown scientist working for Orvhill Energies. (Since there are no subtitles for old computer dialogue, some of the dialogue might be incorrect)
Old Computer 1 dialogue
[Cassette Tape activates, which makes a loud activation sound. The screen of the computer turns purple]
[Cassette Tape starts playing, making a short beep]
Unknown Orvhill Energies Lab Scientist: [Sigh] May 13 was another failure. Nothing seems to survive beyond the first few days. Orvhill suggesting try something larger and uh.. more resilient to the source. Even sent us a few new genome examples. A uh... Dire Wolf, two subspecies of leopard and uh [scoffs] an actual komodo dragon, if you could believe that. [ugh] At least it's better than rats, I guess.

Old Computer 2 dialogue
[Cassette Tape activates, which makes a loud activation sound. The screen of the computer turns purple]
[Cassette Tape starts playing, making a short beep]
Unknown Orvhill Energies Lab Scientist: [phew] We finally have it. One of the subjects to survive the procedure. The changes for its physical structure were uh.... a mix to say the least. It's several times larger than we previously predicted and somewhat bipedal as well. But [ugh] just as expected though, there's no change in the subject's cognizant behaviour. Uhh... For a lack of a better phrase, it's as dumb as bricks. Still runs on animalistic instinct and adrenaline. We can't control it, yet. Surely there has to be a way, right?

Old Computer 3 dialogue
[Cassette Tape activates, which makes a loud activation sound. The screen of the computer turns purple]
[Cassette Tape starts playing, making a short beep]
Unknown Orvhill Energies Lab Scientist: Human trials? What a bunch of corporate hacks. When you register human trials, we haven't even begun to understand the substance we're dealing with. Even if we did, even if we had enough subjects willing to volunteer, fatality rates are over 96 percent. No, no. We have to do better, or this won't end well....

SMII7Y
I’m trying to watch the cutscene, shut up.
I don’t need to do that, he’ll just do it himself.
That doesn’t exist, that’s not a thing!
Let’s do a sacrifice, that sounds like a good idea.
This one decision would cost them their lives.
Breaking news, this guy’s fucking dead!
I'm gonna kiss you on the mouth.
I did not cheat.
See what happens when you're friendly to everybody.
You’re still really mad about that, huh?
And you can’t even afford it.
Somebody go check on this man.
I was just kidding anyways, I wasn’t sorry.
I can’t really fuck up here, can I?
Do you know how this mode works?
Why the fuck am I holding it like this though?
Let’s roadkill some motherfuckers.
Can I swear or no?
This is a good challenge, I will not swear.
Isn’t it being an adult all about cursing?
GRIZZY
I'd say it was pretty successful.
I'm gonna go explore.
I literally cannot move.
Oh, I'm already dying.
I'm in the back seat.
I didn't even see him down there.
I'd say it was pretty successful.
What, he took the fucking shot for you.
I don't even know who to fucking shoot.
He froze me, and said where the fuck I'm at.
BLARG
Hold on, this one's my favorite.
Oh, I'm so excited.
Why do you keep doing this, my friend?
Us ugly motherfucker's have to stick together.
We got the same brain, for real.
Shut up, bitch, I'll cut your legs off.
I don't understand flying very much.
Oh no, I'm on a bike.
You guys want to hear me chew a jelly bean real loud?
I am one of you, pay no mind to the me, I'm one of you, I'm a hunter.
BIGPUFFER
Wait, when do we attack?
Someone bring me back.
No, they're going to red, and they're going to beat the shit out of us.
Oh, I fell in a hole, fuck.
We need to consume his soul.
Shoot the ground, shoot the ground!
Oh, we need the keys.
I don't want to do this anymore.
Oh no, nevermind, I didn't see him until now.
Go ahead, start it up.
VANOSSGAMING
It all makes sense now.
Keep in mind, this theory is a work in progress build, so don’t quote us on that.
Who the fuck is this guy?
Why are you so far ahead?
Where the fuck did he get that?
It doesn’t sound safe.
I need privacy, get out of here.
We all went through this.
That sounds really painful.
I think we should discreetly leave.
NOGLA
This isn't as cool as you think.
You're gonna have to live with the pain of not knowing.
I know you guys love bugs!
I don't think that's in this.
Does anyone have a scarf?
This is so loud and annoying.
What are you eating over there?
We’re eating the same sandwich at the same time?
Doesn’t this look a lot shittier.
I want a gummy, give me a gummy.
TERRORISER
I know you can hear me!
Some motherfucker dragged the body away.
I think I have to disconnect.
I just heard a fart and I died.
I don't see it, it's not fair.
Is it weird that I'm into it?
I'll happily die here.
I got teleported!
I didn't kill anyone!
I'll be right back, I just need to get a kleenex.
MOO
Yeah, I'm not a fan of doing this.
Yes, I'm desperate.
I just took my arm off, can I please throw it at you?
After all these years, I finally found it.
Why did you take us to this room?
Sure, go to the left room...
That's exactly what we need…
Yeah, I'm gonna head out.
You got no class, man.
I want to do the heist, and get it over with, so he stops calling me.

Ok so i just played the final main mission of Horizon Forbidden West. And I have to say, I expected a lot more from it. I'm not going to tell any spoilers in this post.
I'm writing this at 4.30am... I must make this confession.
The ending felt bland and rushed.
In a way, the ending wasn't bad, it was just poorly executed. Most of the wonderful and exciting scenes were in cutscenes. Most of the mission was exactly what the whole game is 24/7 - climb, kill a couple of machines and climb some more. Listen to Erend complaining😂. Most of the time you don't engage in the actual battle. Sure, maybe it shows that aloy has finally learned to trust others and let others fight for her. But as a player I at least wish I could participate a bit more.
I love the battle with Eric. It was exciting. Something about that man makes me nervous. I guess you could even say he's quite scary. I'm a chill player just looking for a good time, so I played on the easiest possible difficulty level - story difficulty. Being level 50, the boss fight with Eric wasn't hard at all but I was super nervous the whole time. I was quite surprised you could actually hide from him and he'd start to search for you - he actually came after you if he heard or saw something. I spent some time just running away from him, hiding. I'm pretty sure I heard him whistle and saying things like "I can smell your fear". And that dude moved like the flash. Caught me by surprise.
However, the very last bossfight of the game did not please me. It was really stupidly planned, at least in my opinion. Besides, it was over in a minute. A couple of shots, then an explosion and it's game over.
All in all, I didn't feel like I was playing the final, great ending mission that Aloy and her friends prepared for the whole game. I felt like I was watching a video where I sometimes had to fight a little here and there. It wasn't terrible, I just expected more.
What I liked about the ending is how we can see Sylens pretty much changing as a person. I never liked him until the end. Maybe that's kind of the idea. Also, Regalla was such a great character in the end. There's also some lines from Aloy that I found quite interesting. Like "why didn't you just let me choose", she sounded a bit sad and maybe even regretful...
The end game was pretty bad to be honest. I was looking forward to talking to the allies and GAIA, but that was not possible. At least not the way I wanted. Aloy didn't really say much about the zeniths or the final battle. But well, that's just how it is. I'm glad forbidden west has something to call endgame, after all that didn't even exist in Zero Dawn.
I've heard the new dlc Burning Shores will be set after the main story, kinda making it endgame I guess. Unfortunately, I'm a PS4 player, so I can't play that. Well, at least I can think of it as Burning Shores waiting for me when I finally get my ps5. And it's confirmed Horizon will be getting a 3rd game, which is of course nice.
There probably isn't much else to say. I don't know if many people agree with me. But this is just my opinion. Also I just started replaying the whole series, starting from Zero Dawn. Truly amazing games, I love them both. Forbidden west might even be in my top 5 favorite games👀

I'm 100% honest on this: There is NOTHING at this point that I can see where I'm willing or even comfortable with the idea of "redeeming" Solas. If indeed "redemption" is even in the cards - I legit get the feeling that the way that BioWare is shaping things, it's in the direction of showing that Solas may have been on to something, that his plans may have been extreme but not unwarranted, that he is doing the wrong thing for the right reason.
Like he admits, outright, that the world must die for his goals to be accomplished, that his intention is to end the world. That he doesn't see the people of Thedas as people, that they're more akin to walking among Tranquil, seeing people who have been lobotomized, who may well be in his estimation better off dead.
Even if somehow he is swayed from proverbially throwing that switch to kill countless millions of people in the world, something that I struggle to see how ANYONE - and yes, even a romanced Lavellan, which, I must point out, is one possible permutation of the Inquisitor out of SEVERAL, and that version getting special treatment none others get WILL cause rioting, you know it - can talk him out of, he still has every intention of it.
And if it's all to service some "he was right, there is some greater evil he was trying to prevent" narrative? Frankly, that's a load of bullshit. GENOCIDE IS THE GREATER EVIL. And when your plan is going to see millions dead at a conservative estimate, I'm comfortable describing it with the g word. Even if he's trying to hold back the elven gods who sought to enslave the elven peoples in the time before other races... People can be freed from slavery, the slave masters can be slain and the slaves regaining their freedom. You don't recover from being killed.
I do not consider Solas a character who deserves redemption. The character is defined by his pride and arrogance, his name literally translates to pride. To even begin a redemption arc, he'd need to admit that he is wrong to be doing this - and, the thing with redemption arcs in general, no one DESERVES redemption, inherently. It's about making that effort, and knowing and understanding that they will not be able to earn redemption from others.
Like when I think of redemption arcs that work, I think Angel, I think Xena, characters who spend entire TV SERIES looking for redemption, and even by their respective finales have not necessarily found it, don't even know if it's something they CAN attain, and yet still choose to try to make amends with the rest of their time on this earth. Meanwhile, you get a character like Damon Salvatore, like Regina the Evil Queen, who are "redeemed" in the sense that there are greater threats that come along, forcing them onto the side of the heroes and making the characters all bury the hatchet out of simple practicality, because they need to tackle the present issue rather than rehash old harm. That's not actually redemption, it's just dismissing their history and claiming 'but they're good guys now!'
The way BioWare has approached Solas, I see their writing favoring the latter version of things with him, not the former.
So I don't even want to bother. Crack the egg, deal with the threat definitively, and, if there's some other threat beyond him, we'll deal with it WITHOUT any assistance from him, because he has not done anything that says he should be given the second chance offered in saying he should be redeemed.
Redemption is an ongoing process, a choice that proceeds on and on for a character beyond one singular appearance. And frankly? This egg wore out his welcome during the course of Inquisition proper, let alone Trespasser, and now the forthcoming game that actually uses him as a title character.
I don't CARE about Solas. If I could crack his egg in the opening cutscene of the fourth Dragon Age and continue from there, I'd do it every time with no hesitation.
