and yes i have a handful of experience with being poly and i’ve tried many different poly relationship styles and honestly yeah it’s really just about trying it out and seeing what feels right. The relationship i was in where i had one primary partner and we both got to have casual dates and sex with others probably worked out the best for me and made me feel the most secure and fulfilled out of any relationship i’ve ever had. We were also long distance which is why this worked well for me, and I liked knowing that no matter who we were hooking up with, me and my partner were actively choosing each other to be with (that is until they left me for someone they were hooking up with but that’s not the point haha before that it was all great!)

i also have been in poly relationships/situationships where i’ve been the secondary partner/have been seeing people who were primary partners and i haaaaated that. i think it was also partly the fault of the other people for various reasons, but to me, that kind of poly relationship was extremely unfulfilling and made me feel like i was only being appreciated when i presented myself in a sexual manner. I realized that i myself definitely am more secure when i’m going to be in some sort of relationship with people that want to prioritize me always not just when i’m invited into the bedroom. i think being a priority is where i draw the line with being non-monogamous and i don’t think i would try a polycule/dating primary partners ever again. im sure some polycules exists that are free of favoritism and bias but im not willing to try that again to find it

i use “poly” as an easy umbrella term but i less consider myself polyamorous (which i define as being able to have multiple committed relationships with multiple people at once) and more consider myself non monogamous where i prefer to have a primary or “anchor” partner who is separate from my casual dating/sex life. I also wouldn’t mind trying monogamy again one day, just not in this stage of my life when im young and traveling and just love making connections with the people around me !

idk i think a lot of queer people are poly or some variation of it these days so i think it’s easy for people to feel pressure to be a certain kind of poly or just poly in general when really you shouldn’t be doing anything you don’t feel secure with just to please others. i hope this helps and good luck!

Since I just answered a looong drabble abt the anthea converse I’ll answer this one for the polaris one lol

The obvious one is a lot of space and star themes, even the characters designs generally have some sort of little cosmic accessories. Different characters will have their own little sub-motifs, not just in the way they dress but just things that will come up in their story a lot. Like, Polaris herself is a navigator so really anything related to directions (In a more abstract way too, like, she’s lost in life and such), for Saiph, his whole thing can veer on being pretty upsetting but you can always look out for this one Spesific Fucking Knife that’s going to pop up constantly, for Al it’s anything related to halves and opposites, I mean, just look at his hair. For Bella it’s partly her sweet tooth, though it’s also not really about that at all. And for Mira you can aaaalways look out for birds and wings and really anything that flies, oh I hope that doesn’t have any possible negative side effects!!

Anyway I could go on with all the characters (Felis and “lives,” Juno and cracks/breaking, Ain and, well, eyes, etc.) but I think I’ll leave it at these for rn! 

Overall though… A huge huge huge huge huge overarching theme, and I think really the entire point of the story I want to tell with them is… Connection! We’re made of stardust, we’re all connected, people need people to survive. People need connection, no man is an island (Polaris), needing help isn’t a weakness (Saiph), it’s okay to be a burden (Al), vulnerability is a necessity for connection (Bella), people continue to live because of the kindness of others (Mira)

There’s totally a flipside of this too! And other character’s different struggles with it! But again I’d be here all day just listing them all (Not that I’d mind. This is fully for your sake LOL). There are a bunch of smaller themes I’d love to get into, like a lot of the characters arcs are sort of about different types of ego death, sometimes taken in strangely literal ways. And of course the theme of “flaws” being power is important here because of the way that all the characters interconnect into something stronger. And the idea that it’s not somekind of moral failing to be imperfect. But it’s also possible to grow, especially with the help of others. 

AND LOVE! The idea that all love that has ever been and ever will be has always been there. Because, again, we are made of stardust, we are part of the universe. Every moment that you have spent loving something, you have been the universe giving love back to itself. So don’t deny yourself that.

OK silly time. I actually think this concept is so funny so I wanna save it for in case I ever wanna ACTUALLY make fake tumblr posts for them...

Polaris has not changed her blog theme, icon, or even blog title at all. And she only browses and doesn’t post. She doesn’t understand why she keeps getting blocked.

Saiph comments on EVERY SINGLE FUCKING POST that he reblogs. All of them. No matter what. He needs everyone to know his thoughts.

Al doesn’t use Tumblr and if you saw him reblog old emo music at 3am no you didn’t that was someone else. That was a different Al. Stop asking questions. 

Bella has the most decked out “pastel goth” Tumblr theme ever. She’s so meticulous about it as if it matters. She reblogs edgy moodboards and Kuromi edits. Her Caard is a maze filled with so many blinkies you’ll go blind. She also posts cake.

Mira runs a bird themed gimmick blog. She, like, roleplays as a bird who’s a menace to society. She rbs Bella’s cakes with stuff like “Oh  fuck yes. A little cake for me. *pecks at it*” She’s having fun.

Felis has one of those catgirlbodypart urls. Love her for it of course.

mainly the fact that none of them could be open or vulnerable with each other …. to be honest i havent looked at sashisu very closely before but this hit me bc. I FEEL LIKE I RELATE SM :; like. i have a best friend who i’ve known since i was a baby but we’ve never ever had a serious conversation once… maybe this is unrelated but that is so tragic because to me friendships really struggle to be strong and stable against one another if you can’t ever show the side of you that’s struggling … being vulnerable w one another is key to bonding :’3

i have some thoughts about them— mainly shoko…. to me it kinda seems like she kept them at an arms length away this entire time on purpose and she still does…. maybe i’m spitballing idk i’m just basing it off the fact that satoru and suguru called her shoko but she still referred to them by surname even ‘til where we currently r in the manga (which. i will also ignore but i cant lie the memes were so funny…) but my thinking is that she did so because. even though we never really saw her much i think that’s it since she was a reversed ct user n probably didn’t have much experience fighting… maybe. hear me out just MAYBE she knew what might become of satoru and suguru since they were so enveloped in fighting and being the strongest, and both of them were so headstrong and arrogant for lack of a better term that she might’ve just… tried to keep herself from getting attached n being hurt even more than she already might’ve been simultaneously 😞😞

that still just makes me so so sad though….. they always looked so happy when they were together… maybe if they could’ve gotten suguru to talk and really listened to him for once…. alas ;; gege is an evil thing

T_T he will always make me cry like no other ….

i think its super interesting !! i rly rly wish i was able to read the og japanese manga, bc i feel like so many little language details like that get lost in translation (esp since the official jjk translation is kinda bad lol)… i wish we knew if shoko called them by their given names in high school, i want to think so but we just dont know </3

it's honestly kinda funny because i don't care for hawks as much as i used to but he's definitely my comfort character in terms of who i try to understand the deepest. that being said... all of these thoughts are kinda old as i have yet to re-up them given that i havent seen season 5 yet and read the manga AGES ago.

Idk how really to start LOL and some of this it's possible I've said before

First and foremost, I think he's a super neat person. Aggressively neat... as he definitely rings as a character who's weird upbringing with his weird parents in a weird shack has made him super concerned with not living in squalor

He's not gonna be mean to people about messes, though. He understands why they occur and what they symbolize... he's just not gonna tolerate any kind of dirtiness in his own house

Similarly, he eats/enjoys food for some of the same reasons.

His parents weren't able to provide him with anything substantial + I doubt the commission really provided him with anything other than meal plans... so eating is an escape from that

He has a line that clues us into this too (and I can find it if anyone wants) but I'm forgetting it right now

I don't want to say it's binge related but it's definitely disordered eating of some sorts, where like... if you offer him food, no matter the time or place, he's eating

And though he's lean for work, he'd probably have more of a stocky build if you left him to his own devices (because he’s also somewhat. Short)

Also... Hawks IS a deeply kind + thoughtful person... but he's not kind because he's naturally kind, he's kind because he chooses to be kind

It's a specific thing, I think... where he makes choices that he doesn't really like for the sake of it being right / what he believes in

But just because he puts a happy face on it all or it seems like he likes you... doesn't mean that his internal feelings match

So he's a lot more mean when you get to know him... which is shocking because he never actually does anything mean. Just says mean shit and speaks his mind in private and it's all weirdly depressing

And all acts of frivolously are extremely calculated, too. Even if there is truth in his declaration of "I want to live in a world where Hero's have free time"

He does, just. Can't

Similarly, he's also like... lazy... in a way that makes him hard to interact with

Again, not mean exactly but you can almost never get favors out of him or rush him because he's just gonna do stuff his way whether you like it or not

(This is dumb, but for example, you ask him to start planning for your vacation and... No. He's gonna plan when he wants to plan.)

And he also never explains anything to you and deals with all his problems by himself, so... you just have to trust that things will work out with him

Doesn't matter if it's when he plans to do something or what he's struggling with... it's personal. You get left out of it

And not intentionally, either... he's just incapable of letting someone help carry his burdens. EVEN if/when he loves them

So, TL;DR: what I'd fight over is Hawks being seen as a superficial person who doesn't value the significance of kindness or privilege. I definitely think we never really get to talk about his internal dialogue or struggles which are SO painful given that he is literally willing to sacrifice and kill for the benefit of society despite it being wrong. Also, he's a dick.

Accidentally Hurting Their F!S/O - HCs

A/N : you didn’t specify physically or mentally hurting their S/O, so I’ll randomize it.

I don’t know if you can tell, but I’m pretty excited I get to write for Mihawk. I love this man so much, and I hope I did his character justice! 😭

Summary : Doflamingo, Crocodile and Mihawk accidentally hurting their female significant other.

Doflamingo

This man is rather sadistic, mostly because of what he’s been through, yes. But if he grew up another way, I believe he’d be a pretty decent person. Someone who doesnt want to destroy the whole world-

Doflamingo cares a lot of his family, ( don’t you dare tell me otherwise ), and considering that you are dating THE Doflamingo, you’re pretty high up in the ranks yourself. He’ll go to many lengths to protect you, im sure.

But because he has a reputation to uphold and he is pretty sadistic and an ass, he’ll say some pretty harsh things and tease you and sometimes make fun of you as a joke so much, it’s not cute.

But it was to be expected dating Doflamingo. Doffy did have a good side to him too, he was pretty sweet under everything.

Though, everything he says can be a bit too much to handle.

Already feeling insecure that you’ve somehow ended up with a warlord and a king of a country, when Doffy could have anyone else,

You actually felt your heart shatter into pieces when Doffy carelessly spoke to you, with his shit-eating grin.

You wouldn’t say anything, not even plastering the forced small smile that you’d always wear. You’ll just brush it off and turn away, walking off and went to go talk to Baby 5.

Doflamingo would be taken back, expecting you to fight back or anything for his entertainment. He thought it was amusing and kinda cute seeing you get feisty when he teased you, but seeing your hidden hurt expression and walking off made him know he messed up.

He’ll be annoyed. Annoyed he didn’t get entertainment but even more annoyed that he caused you pain, for his own amusement especially.

He’ll bring up his strings and start to control you from where you were, bringing you back to him forcefully, which you’ll start to squirm and struggle in your hold.

When he sees you as he pulls you towards him, his grin would be gone and a tight thin line would be plastered instead.

He’ll bring you closer until you’re right in front of him, and before you could say anything after he releases his hold on you, he’ll grab you and pull you in to his chest silently.

He’ll force you to sit there all day, without moving as he placed his arms around your torso, your head laying in his shoulder.

“I’m sorry.”

It was a simple two words, but even then, just hearing it made you relax and ease into his chest more as you snuggled into his hold with a small smile.

Mihawk

Mihawk is blunt and straightforward, so there are some things that he’ll say outwardly, without sugar-coating it.

So you’re pretty used to it. You’d have to be, if you even ended up dating Mihawk in the first place.

Sure, the swordsman is romantic, but he’s blunt most of the time.

It would be when you return from a trip, having left to pickup some things, personal and essential items for the two of you.

You were pretty eager and excited when you came back, wanting to share the many things you’ve come across and seen while you were out.

However, Mihawk didn’t share that feeling. He had been sitting in his castle alone for a while, enjoying the peace, despite having feeling a bit lonely without you.

So when you come back, chatting and talking pretty excitedly, with your eyes lit up, hearing Mihawk’s blunt words absolutely destroyed your joy.

You’d immediately shut up and murmur an apology to him. Feeling pretty embarrassed and humiliated, you’d leave the room quickly and keep distance away from Mihawk.

He didn’t realize how much he truly missed your presence until he saw you walking away, a pained expression across your face. He’ll sigh at that, rubbing his temple a bit and wondered why he felt so stressed.

You were just like Shanks in terms of easy excitement, and although he often got annoyed, he never snapped at him like he had did with you. Was it because he actually did miss you?

He’ll see that you left behind one of the bags you’ve brought from your trip and see a particular wine that he enjoyed, knowing it was expensive and that you went the trip to get it for him. He’ll frown in distaste towards himself for hurting you and go find you.

He’ll find you in bed, under the covers with your eyes shut. Knowing you weren’t actually asleep, he’ll go over and crawl into bed beside you, wrapping an arm around you and kissing the back of your head lightly.

“I apologize for my words, [Name]. It wasn’t my intention to hurt you. I missed you.”

It was simple yet held so much in it, you turned to face him and wrap your arms around his chest, accepting his apology and just wanted to cuddle with him right then and there, to which he obliged and pet your hair as you fell asleep in his arms.

Crocodile

Crocodile is also a bit of a blunt person, but he has a heart for sure.

Crocodile, as a lover, will spoil you to no end. He’s a loving man, and he most definitely cherishes things he values most, which you are the most valuable thing he has.

He’ll do anything to protect you and keep you from harm. He never has any intentions on hurting you unless he has a real reason to.

And so, when Crocodile realizes the mistake he just made when he sees you staring wide-eyed at him, on the ground and grasping your shoulder, he becomes shocked himself

and immediately, whatever was angering him just seconds prior is forgotten.

Crocodile would be frustrated with both him and you for a quick second before rushing to your side.

Seeing you flinch would break his heart but he’d understand.

“[Name]... Are you alright?”

He wouldn’t even remember what he was so angry about. He was just stressed, to the point that he had hurt you, for just trying to comfort him.

He’ll slowly reach out to you, a bit hesitant because he knows he’s hurt you and you’ll remember this for sure.

But seeing that you aren’t pulling away, he’ll gently pick up you bridal style and bring you to the bedroom, setting you on the bed softly.

“Show me your shoulder.”

And to the best of his ability, he’ll check your injury and patch it up, it’ll be sloppy but A for effort.

When he’s done, he’ll pull you down to lay on his chest and whisper his apologies to you once more and promises to buy you the world one day.

Although your shoulder was still in pain, you knew he didn’t mean to hurt you and you’ll curl yourself into his arms, closing your eyes and relaxing with a soft smile.

As much as I love Crocodile, he’s a lot harder to write than I thought. Especially when it’s so late and I’m exhausted as hell.

i don’t think someone that wants to hide that is gay and it’s in a gay relationship with a member from his group would be staring in a bl drama or playing a men that falls in love with another guy. it doesn’t make any sense because people will start talking and probably even shipping him with this other actor and rumors about his sexuality would start appearing and people would speculate about his sexuality it will became a topic it’s the opposite of hiding and all those stuff that you say about SM pushing the straight vibe on him doesn’t makes sense anymore

We finally get to know why jaehyun has been so happy and content recently? Lols So happy for him!! I'm glad SM allowed him to take on such a role. Yet another added dimension to idol jaehyun. Nice to see he didn't just aim for safe pretty boy roles that work but aren't anything special.. I wonder how SM was convinced haha but to make it about jaedo, I can't believe the news was announced on the same day Doyoung's first role was announced too dang... Now, let's address the topic.

- First of all, WOW! You go, Jaehyun-ie! You're truly a match for Kim Dongyoung!

- Same day? Are we sure it's a coincidence with SM moving comeback dates just to hit a certain date all the time? Hm...

- What we know so far:

1) Jaehyun has a new acting role, he will be a lead in a 16 ep drama meant for distribution on streaming services (like Kakao TV, Netflix, but we don't know which exactly). Each episode will be 25 min, the shooting will start in January, the airing is scheduled for late 2022.

2) This drama is a remake of the movie "Bungee Jumping of their own", which later had a musical adaptation.

Summary: The main character falls in love with a woman, she soon dies. The man marries and has children. After 17 years since his first love's death the man develops feelings for his new male student. The man is conflicted with his feeling for another man, but in the end the two discover that the student is a reincarnation of the woman the teacher fell in love with in the past. The two are soulmates. The ending of the movie hints at the pair accepting their soulmate bond and love, but the ending is ambiguous  scratch that, they jumped into a mountain river to be reincarnated again.

Jaehyun plays Hyunbin - the soulmate student.

There are three controversial topics in this plot:

- Homosexual relationship,

- Teacher-student romance,

- Husband leaving his family and kids for another.

3) The director is rather famous, therefore it is not a small indie project for a newbie actor, it's a risky production with an attracting attention role for Jaehyun. He is literally bungee jumping into the abyss, heh.

4) It's clear why would Jaehyun be attracted to the role. Korea is producing more and more LGBT-related movies, musicals, and tv-series. It is a time of possible changes. It would mean a lot for Jaehyun to be a part of these attempts for a better future, for acceptance from gp. Even back in 2017 he said he wants to be an example for fans.

SM let Minho (Shinee) play a gay character in a tv-series this year. Therefore, in the eyes of gp and SM-stans, Jaehyun would follow in his sunbae's steps.

5) Jaehyun having a gay role actually could be a really good cover for him.

Remember, people can explain everything the way they want. Right now Jaehyun has a very straight image. You can find right now fans not wanting him to play this role on TW, they don't want to see him as a non-straight character.

- Jae's first venture into acting failed due to a scandal around the female lead. = Jaehyun and his company don't want to risk it again with another young cast.

- The director is famous, the tv-series will be talked about. = Jaehyun wants to make it big right away, he takes a risk. He is still a nobody in the acting world, so his choice of lead roles is not big. Upcoming actors star in LGBT movies, it is expected and accepted. Gongmyung played a gay character at the start of his career, and even kissed a man, he has no problems with his image.

- Jaehyun is gay? You just want him to be because he played a gay character. All these rumours started because of the role.

- Note. This new development for sure wouldn't be possible a year before. Something has changed for SM to allow JaeDo to comeback. Maybe it's the new anti-stalker law. Maybe the source of a threat and exposition was dealt with. Gay rumours on their own are not the problem, all actors and idols are shipped, the problem is media taking and running with the rumours, or the public at large believing the rumours.

6) Jaehyun will have to play a male student that is recognized because he retains some habits of the original female romantic interest. It gives another angle at discussing Jaehyun's role in media. Instead of how well he portrays a gay, it could be how well he portrayed a reincarnation by copying the female actress' gestures and speech. There will be ways to divert some attention to the hetero soulmate love for both male main actors.

💥 COLLISON - what emotions do they have trouble dealing with?

He struggles massively with dread and loneliness… Or maybe helplessness, primarily! His situation has left him feeling powerless every single day. He can’t cope with it very well and it routinely makes him upset to think about for too long. He hates that he feels like he has no control, but at the same time, he doesn’t really know what to do about it! :(

👁️ EYE - what colour are their eyes? do people notice their eyes? is there anything special about them (shows emotion easily, literally magical...)?

AH THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION! Since they’re not usually visible in his design hehe His eyes are normally dark brown, almost black!!! But when he’s feeling really really intense emotions, they get completely white. Sometimes they glow a little! That’s only partially why he wears the glasses. To hide his eyes if they start glowing like that LOL But mostly, he just thinks they look cool LMAOO.

💐 BOUQUET - create a bouqet for them! what do those flowers mean? are any of the flowers their particular favourite?

I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT FLOWER MEANINGS SO I had to look some of these up!! In order: Red columbine can be used to symbolize passion and energy but also anxieties or the quality of trembling with anxiety. Heliotropes symbolize eternal love and devotion (in his case, LITERALLY eternal LOL). Red chrysanthemum is usually just simply a symbol of love. Begonias symbolize caution or a need for caution. Can also mean uniqueness or gratitude. Pink carnations symbolize gratitude and never forgetting someone. Red carnations convey aching in longing, pain from yearning so much (“my heart aches for you”). Baptist isn’t a huge flower guy, he doesn’t know much about them, but his favorite flower probably isn’t any of the ones listed here. He likes belladonna a lot!

🎂 BIRTHDAY CAKE - when is their birthday? do they like celebrating it?

October 10th! He does like to get together with friends to celebrate! But he feels kind of awkward because he can’t have cake or any food at all. Sometimes he can tolerate watching his friends eat in front of him, but if he’s getting too close to the cannibalism cycle repeating again, he has to call it all off and spend his birthday alone to reduce the risk of hurting anyone he loves. He has kind of lost track of how old he’s supposed to be. He doesn’t like thinking about it, but he does like the idea of having a special day to celebrate for himself!

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

Most times, when I’m writing and designing a new character, the inspiration comes suddenly! For him, it was no different! In fact, I’ve found that the characters that I like the most are ones that randomly popped into my head. It usually happens right before I fall asleep, I can literally see the character in my mind. And I immediately sit up and draw it LOL So I don’t lose the idea. Then I revisit it and refine it later! The first concept I decided about him was actually the ridiculous way he eats people, by slitting his abdomen open and having to physically pull them into him. I liked the idea of the hunger becoming so great that the pain caused to relieve the craving no longer matters, thus the ceremonious bisection of his stomach. And then the hunger being satisfied only for as long as the wound is still in the process of healing. I’ve always loved the theme of longing in the form of hunger or love in the form of consumption. Baptist just takes those themes and personifies them!! And he also kind of personifies my fears of being stuck in a cycle of self-destruction but being too scared of the unknown to leave it. OMG I’m sorry LIFDKEBDNF GOING OFF ON A PSYCHOANALYSIS RANT LMAO.

i cant watch happy media either, its just a reminder of my own deep unhappiness and how I'll never feel the level of comfort that everyone else seems to. like truly there is no hope for me and I'm so incredibly jealous of others, even if they're fictional. I just wish I wasn't like this!! I wish I was a functional person!! i cant even leave my house lol like even seeing characters drive somewhere or go to a store makes me upset because I can't even do those basic things...it's so embarrassing I don't even know how to be a human

yeah me too…..it’s worse when they have good ppl around them and you know they’re fated for a happy ending, i can’t even watch…….even celebrities and ppl in documentaries and stuff i find it so hard to consume that media, seeing them function normally, hearing them casually mention their siblings or their plans for the future…….just sends me into an even worse place. like endless crying and blackouts. anyway im sorry angel. its been so hard, i know. i really hope you can work through this eventually. it’s not embarrassing at all. you’re dealing w mental illness and it is a very real and debilitating struggle. you don’t owe anyone an explanation, take it all at your own pace. you deserve comfort and happiness too, and i know it seems absolutely unreachable right now, but i really don’t think that you’re doomed to never progress beyond this state (though i completely understand why rn it feels that way.) you are in a constant state of evolution and change no matter how minuscule. im rooting for you sm.,hugs x
