Randy Orton's sister x Alexa Bliss / Charlotte Flair x Reader
request/trope: enemies (on screen)/ friends to lovers (irl) trope with Alexa Bliss
a.n: so this request was messaged to me and they gave a lot of what they wanted for the plot so I will be going off of their request the best I can! Will probably change some stuff so it fits the plot better but that's it!
this came from my wattpad first btw! my wattpad is -adriswrld :)
Tumblr media
Y/N hopped off her motorcycle that she just parked next to her brother's car also known as Randy Orton's car. "You know you really need to start using your car. I warned you about how dangerous those things are," Randy scolded, grabbing his suitcase and hers out of the car. She usually couldn't fit her second suitcase on her bike so she had Randy hold onto it. "I heard you the first million times Randal, stop nagging on me," Y/N said in an annoyed tone. Randy rolled his eyes at her using his full name. "I'm just worried about you Y/N. I'm allowed to be after that incident," Randy said and Y/N clenched her jaw hoping he would stop bringing that up to make her feel guilty.
"Yes Randy I got tired, made a mistake hurt someone in the ring but it had nothing to do with a motorcycle or my break up with Ashley. So back off please." Randy sighed and nodded, choosing to let it go for now but it didn't stop his concern for her well being. Now that Ashley would be on the same brand as her then he knew it would be even harder on her. Y/N walked in the building with her suitcases and headed to the locker room. They must've been meeting some of the new girls because tonight was the night of the SmackDown draft. Y/N really hated the drafts because there was an extra amount of people than a normal amount of people for a Smackdown episode.
Y/N chewed on her gum as she entered the locker room, heading straight to her locker and ignoring everyone but they were used to it. "Y/N! Come here I wanna introduce you to someone!" Trinity called over and Y/N let out a sigh before getting up from the bench. "Lexi this is Y/N Orton. Y/N this is Lexi Kaufman aka Alexa Bliss." Trinity introduced. Y/N just a gave an uninterested nod, not bothering to shake Alexa's hand or make any kind of contact. "Hi...yeah I gotta go now," Y/N mumbled before walking out of the locker room without another word. "Oh...uh okay," Alexa mumbled awkwardly. She was aware Y/N wasn't exactly the most social person but she didn't really expect that. Especially since her own crush just treated her like a high school jock would.
"Don't take it personal. She's always like that." Nikki Bella said, patting Alexa's shoulder with a warm smile. "Yeah I didn't, just caught me off guard."

Y/N groaned getting a message to head to Hunter's office. As Hunter was apart of creative he had an idea for Y/N's new storyline as she was finished with her last one. Y/N lost her fued to Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women's Championship, helping put over the orange haired woman in the process.
Y/N didn't mind helping put over the newer women she just hoped they would put her in a storyline with her brother sooner or later. The least they could do is let her win matches. She was literally an Orton, she shouldn't have to look weak. All they did was show Randy giving her advice in backstage segments or promos.
Y/N walked into the office and sat down on the chair, not even acknowledging Alexa Bliss sitting there as well. "You called me?" Y/N raised a brow, chewing on her new piece of gum. Alexa didn't have to question why Y/N had such a sharp jawline now. "Yes I have a new storyline for you that I think you'll like a lot," Triple H said. Y/N perked up hoping they'd finally pair her with her older brother. "You're gonna finally let me wrestle with my brother?" Y/N asked hopefully and Triple H pursed his lips. "Yes and No," he said, making Y/N slightly frown. "We decided to team you and your brother for the mixed match challenge but that's not gonna be apart of your storyline," Triple H said.
That's when Y/N finally realized Alexa was sitting next to her. "No way. You're gonna team me up with new girl?!" Y/N exclaimed, hating the idea of being in a tag team with anyone. Her brother was the only exception. "Ouch. I'm right here!" Alexa said, offended but still insanely attracted to Y/N when she was mad. "No Y/N we're not teaming you two up. You're actually gonna be fueding. It sets up Alexa's fued with Becky Lynch in the future," Triple H said. Alexa was super excited because she might possibly win her first championship in WWE after this first warm up fued. "Wait, so I'm gonna lose again?" Y/N asked incredulously.
"Yes and No. Neither of you will lose this fued as Alexa will move onto her fued with Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women's Championship and you will move onto your next fued with Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women's Championship. Alexa will be a heel and you will turn babyface so you both will be on different brands soon. This is just a warm up fued. You get two months to make this fued big or its gonna cost your title shots in the future." Y/N nodded, excited to turn babyface as she had never been one before. She's always played a heel. Alexa was used to the heel role as she played one before in NXT.
Y/N obviously wasn't excited about a fued with her ex girlfriend Charlotte but if it gave her a title then she'd make the most of it. "Also, we're gonna slowly ease you into a tag team but you're still gonna hate each other, you just get along sometimes. It's like a opposite personalities kinda thing," Triple H added. "If it gets me a title shot then I can work with a tag team for now," Y/N said. "Is that all?" Hunter nodded and Y/N walked out without another word. Alexa sighed and she and Triple H began discussing more about her fued and character.

It was the next week and Alexa was in the ring cutting a promo about how excited she was to be apart of the SmackDown brand. That was until she was cut off by Y/N's music and the crowd booed her in which she just ignored them. She wore a white crop top with some jeans and some sneakers, something really basic as she wasn't one for flashy clothing. Plus her character was more of a idgaf kinda character. "Well well well, if it isn't the cheerleader from NXT! Where's your little buddies? They didn't get drafted up with you? Aww," Y/N fake pouted, walking down the ramp.
"What do you want?" Alexa asked, a little taken back by the comments of Y/N. "Oh me? Yeah no I don't really want anything. I'm just here to be here. And sweetheart I've been here wayyy longer than you so I pretty much do whatever I want." Y/N stepped onto the ring apron and stepped into the ring making Alexa back up slightly. "You know for someone who's been here longer you haven't really accomplished much have you?" Alexa asked with a sweet smile. The crowd laughed at her comeback on Y/N who was visibly pissed at her audacity. "I'm a four time Women's Champion. That's more than you've done in your entire career so I'd watch your pretty mouth next time. If you want to be here in my ring and address this crowd then you have to earn it," Y/N stated.
"Okay. Then I'll earn it. Me and you right here, right now!" Alexa challenged. Y/N licked her lips and laughed, stepping back and sliding out of the ring. "Nah," Y/N shrugged, walking back up the ramp without another word. That was only the beginning of what was to come.

(a month later)
Every week Y/N would always throw an insult or push around Alexa and the crowd loved every second of it. They even had a match last week and Y/N came out with the win but Alexa stuck her out of to her out of respect in which Y/N just walked pass her with zero emotion. But today, oh today was a different day. Last week Charlotte Flair had called out Y/N on Monday Night Raw. And obviously Y/N was not gonna let that slide. So she was out there to address the crowd tonight and call out Charlotte Flair who was in the building tonight. Y/N's music hit and she walked out, mic in a hand, glasses over her eyes and a steel chair in hand. Y/N stepped in the ring and set the chair up before taking a seat on it and leaning back.
Alexa watched backstage with a hitched breath, seeing Y/N in the leaned back position but images in her head that she felt she shouldn't even be imagining. It was obvious Y/N was still getting over her breakup with Ashley. And it's not like Y/N even acknowledged Alexa half the time. They'd cross paths and Y/N wouldn't even look at her, she'd just nod and walk past her. She was starting to wonder if Y/N hated her. "So you're all probably wondering what I'm out here for. Yeah last week I took a nasty bump so you probably think I'm injured but I'm perfectly fine. No no no, I'm out here to address the elephant in the room. Charlotte Flair." Y/N spoke, pulling off her glasses and clipping them on her tank top.
"See Charlotte Flair had no right calling me out on Raw as if I didn't whoop her ass countless times. She really had a lot to say about me. And I really don't know what I did so bad for her to call me some useless bully with no talent. Am I really a bully? I don't think I am. I prefer the term, snake. And I'll admit, I am a snake. I've turned my back on Charlotte several times. It's not my fault she managed to make everything about her. I don't blame Bayley and Sasha for turning on her. They just did what Becky Lynch is scared to do. Charlotte is scared of being alone. You wanna know how I know that?"
"Well I'll tell you anyways. See Charlotte's always been the chosen one. In middle school, in high school, in NXT. Meanwhile women like Bayley, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Naomi, Tamina, Natalya, Emma, Alicia Fox, and many more couldn't even earn an opportunity to shine because Vincent Kennedy McMahon likes the young pretty blondes on his TV. Charlotte hasn't earned half the things she's been given. Because all the women I just listed, they've beaten her and where is their Championship? Where is my championship?! Charlotte Flair is always gonna be alone because if shes not in the spotlight then nobody can be and shes scared of that. So I'll tell you where my championship is. It's shoved so far up Charlotte's a-" Y/N was cut off by Charlotte's music.
Y/N clenched her jaw and bit her lip in anger. Everyone knew Y/N hated to be cut off. Charlotte walked out, Dana Brooke by her side like always. "Y/N, Y/N, Y/N....why are you so obsessed with me?" Y/N scoffed, watching as Charlotte walked down the ramp, her title around her waist. "I mean it's bad enough you're obsessed with poor little Alexa Bliss. But now you're moving onto me? Is it because i dumped you?" Charlotte laughed. Y/N looked down, still clenching her jaw and she could snap at any moment. "Oh right, I forgot you're still not over that," Charlotte frowned fakly and stepping in the ring.
Y/N still didn't move from her spot on her chair and continued to chew her gum with an annoyed face. "You done?" Y/N asked, raising an annoyed brow. "Hmmmm not really but it's embarrassing to see you not speak so I'll pause just for you," Charlotte hummed. Y/N stood up and kicked the chair the side, "I think you're forgetting that you called me out, you brought my name into your mouth and you showed up on my brand. So I suggest you rethink your decision before I rearrange your face so you won't be Championship material in anyone's eyes," Y/N spat out at Charlotte.
"Oh so you're saying that you're Championship material? You?" Charlotte deadpanned and Y/N nodded with a shrug. "Yeah but I'm not gonna be a cocky bitch like you and remind everyone each week," Y/N said. The crowd laughed and Charlotte clenched her jaw, clearly embarrassed. "I'm done here. I don't have to listen to this," Charlotte said, turning to walk away but Y/N grabbed her wrist. "Yeah well I'm not." Charlotte scoffed and sent a cheap shot to Y/N's face, laying her out so Dana kicked and attacked her.
Charlotte grabbed the chair and went to hit Y/N in the back until, the crowd suddenly burst into loud cheers when the music of Alexa Bliss hit and she ran out to Y/N's defense. Charlotte and Dana slid out immediately noticing Alexa holding a kendo stick in hand. Alexa slid in and shouted some threats at the two before walking over to Y/N who sat in the corner of the ring with a look of surprise. Alexa stuck her hand out to Y/N who looked around at the crowd that began the Daniel Bryan 'YES!" chants. Charlotte and Dana shouted 'no' as they knew if Alexa and Y/N teamed up then it would be the end for them.
Y/N let out a breath and took Alexa's hand, letting Alexa help pull her up and the crowd went nuts for it. Y/N and Alexa walked to the ropes shouting threats back and forth with Dana and Charlotte. Y/N picked up the mic and leaned forward on the ropes, "You and your little protégé versus me and The Goddess on Raw! I'll see you there because the minute I see you next week it's going down!" Y/N threw the mic and her music played all as the crowd cheered and Charlotte and Dana were having a meltdown.
Alexa grinned and hugged Y/N stiffened up out of surprise, that obviously not being scripted so she had no idea how to react. But the crowd was going nuts for it and the reactions were gold. Y/N still with a confused look, put an arm around Alexa's shoulder and it was basically Y/N showing some kind of affection so the crowd loved it. This team was over as hell and Vince McMahon was eating it up.

That's how Y/N and Alexa were told they would now be a tag team until it was time for their title fueds. Basically this storyline got extended way longer than it should've been. Y/N didn't mind because it meant she was getting TV time and a big check. The only downside was that she had to now train with Alexa so they could rehearse their matches together, create a tag team finisher, a gimmick for their selves, and anything that could help with their chemistry. Alexa obviously wasn't complaining about spending time with her. That was until Y/N brought along Randy so now it definitely felt like Alexa was just third wheeling their sister and brother relationship.
Y/N pulled her gym bag on her shoulder and walked into the PC but this time Randy wasn't with her which caught Alexa off guard. "No Randy today?" Alexa asked. She and Y/N still had yet to actually speak a full sentence to each other since Randy basically spoke for Y/N knowing she had no interest in conversation with people she wasn't super familiar with. "Nah he's spending time with the wifey so it's just me. I did actually call a friend to come with but they bailed last minute." Y/N shrugged. Alexa nodded, pretending to be upset about that but she Sasha thrilled to actually sit down and talk with Y/N.
"So I was thinking maybe we can start coming up with our finisher because we have our match in a few days on Raw," Alexa said. Y/N just nodded and slid in the ring to stretch, Alexa following her. "Yeah I was talking to my friend about that and she suggested that maybe we just mix our finisher together instead of creating a whole new one," Y/N mumbled. "That's a great idea. What friend came up with that?" Alexa asked, slighty trying to figure out if it was Charlotte's idea. "My friend Kim, she's in ICW. Don't worry she's married to a man." Alexa's eyes widened, hoping Y/N wasn't onto her.
"What do you mean by that?" Alexa asked, trying to play dumb. "You're obviously wondering if Charlotte was that friend, which she was not. We haven't spoken to each other outside of work in weeks. We don't even speak in general unless we're doing a promo together," Y/N stated. "Oh well I was just curious," Alexa mumbled. "Mhm, sure," Y/N shrugged, not thinking too much of it because she didn't really care. "So I was thinking like maybe I do an RKO, then when they're on the floor you basically do the Twisted Bliss finisher," Y/N explained, standing up and popping her neck.
"Oh yeah I love that idea. Wait you know my finisher name?" Alexa asked. "I watched a few of your matches in NXT so I kinda picked up on your moveset," Y/N shrugged, not seeing it as a big deal but a lot of people would considering she almost never felt the need to watch other people's old matches to study moveset. "Oh okay, thanks," Alexa said, smiling to herself.
»»────── 𓆩♡𓆪 ──────««
Y/N slid in the ring and performed an RKO on Dana Brooke, laying her out so Alexa could perform Twisted Bliss. Alexa performed the finisher and pinned Dana to the three count, making the crowd get on their feet and cheer. Alexa immediately ran and hugged Y/N who once again awkwardly patted Alexa's back. The referee lifted their arms, signifying their win before letting them back down. When they got backstage they were congratulated on their performance and Y/N immediately left to catering where Bayley was holding her phone for her. "Thanks," Y/N said, taking her phone and going to sit on a random stage box.
As she sat down she was approached by Charlotte who sat down next to her. "What do you want Ashley? You dumped me, you left me, you ruined it. I don't need any explanation from you and I sure as hell don't wanna be friends." Before Charlotte could even get a word out, Y/N walked off without even hearing what Charlotte had to say. Charlotte let out a sigh and Alexa walked over to her, "I'm kinda biased because she's my tag partner but I think you should just let her be. She's made it clear she doesn't wanna be friends or get together," Alexa stated, patting Charlotte's shoulder and walking over to Bayley and Sasha.
»»────── 𓆩♡𓆪 ──────««
Three weeks later it was Smackdown and Y/N had a match tonight against Carmella, from what was scheduled but she was cutting a promo in the ring first. "Now three weeks ago myself and my tag partner Alexa Bliss beat Charlotte Flair and Dana Brooke. And for some reason, I thought it was gonna end there. Ya know? But Charlotte just can't accept defeat. Which is why last week she tried to get me alone and twist her way into my mind to turn me against my partner Alexa Bliss. And I don't take kindly to people trying to manipulate me." Y/N said, sitting criss cross in the middle on the ring.
"And so I was wondering how did Charlotte manage to get me alone? If Alexa is with me at all times? And so I asked Alexa where she was and she told me that Carmella and her little friends, locked Alexa in the locker room. And I think we all know by now is that I really don't like when someone messes with the people I care about. So, I challenged Carmella to a match earlier today and I have yet to get my answer so Carmella, if you could come on out here that would be greatly appreciated. And once I'm done with you, I'll put my focus back on Charlotte Flair."
Y/N stood up and looked to the jumbotron with the audience and that's when they suddenly showed Carmella walking into Y/N and Alexa's shared locker room. Alexa immediately looked away from the television and glared at Carmella, "What are you doing in our room?" Carmella chuckled and crossed her arms over her chest, "Relax, I just wanna talk to you. It's about Y/N." Alexa furrowed her brows and crossed her arms, squinting at Carmella in suspicion. "What about her?"
"I really hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think she's thinking about leaving you for Charlotte. I saw them talking last week and they looked really close. I also noticed how Y/N didn't ask you to come out with her, maybe she just doesn't need you anymore so she's to let you down easy," Carmella said with a fake frown. Alexa looked down, not wanting to believe what Carmella was saying but it was hard not to when Y/N was being more distant. "Why should I believe you when you and your little friends locked me in the locker room?" Alexa glared at her, not even caring what Carmella had to say anymore.
"You know what? I don't care. Get out!" Alexa snapped. Carmella clenched her jaw, "Fine, fine you win," She went to turn around, only to sucker punch Alexa in the face. Y/N seen this and immediately went to run out of the ring until Natalya, Lana and Tamina, three of Carmella's lackies, attacked her from behind. As Alexa finally shoved Carmella into the wall, she turned to look at the TV that showed Y/N being attacked. "She's always there for you. Will you be there for her?" Carmella chuckled, getting up and tackling Alexa, both of them going at it until security had to pull them apart.
Y/N tried her best to fight back but only got kicked down each time. That's when the crowd went absolutely insane hearing Charlotte Flairs music. Charlotte ran down the ramp literally in heels and hit Lana with a big boot on the outside. Charlotte slid in the ring but Tamina and Natalya slid out before she could attack. Y/N leaned onto her left shoulder, holding her midsection in pain, thinking Charlotte would now attack her. But instead Charlotte leaned down and comforted her whilst glaring at Lana, Tamina, and Natalya.
Alexa finally managed to pull from the security and run down to the gorilla but when she finally got the stage, nobody was in the ring anymore. The crowd chanted 'CHARLOTTE SAVED HER!' and Alexa's face showed a clear sign of sadness but also a look of jealousy and anger.
Backstage when the segment was finished Alexa found Y/N actually having a conversation with Charlotte. She furrowed her brows in confusion when she noticed Y/N had actually smiled at Charlotte. Y/N never smiled. Alexa sighed and sat down on the stage box, close enough to where she could eavesdrop. "So, do you maybe wanna grab some coffee later? I know a good place nearby," Charlotte said. Y/N hummed in thought, she had planned to do some late night training with Alexa but maybe she could cancel. Alexa wouldn't be that mad would she?
"Uh yeah sure, I gotta cancel training but yeah, I'm down," Y/N said. Alexa gaped in offense and jealousy which she would never admit to.
»»────── 𓆩♡𓆪 ──────««
A few weeks more went on and Y/N and Alexa were one of the most talked about tag teams ever. Y/N and Alexa would be scheduled on both brands, fueding with Charlotte and Dana. When Charlotte had saved Y/N when Alexa wasn't there, that did cause a lot of miscommunication and problems between the two. Charlotte was manipulating Y/N all over again and Alexa was sick of it so last week she challenged Charlotte to a match on Smackdown. Off screen, Y/N had been spending a ton of time with Ashley. Even more than she did with Alexa. But the more Y/N distanced from Alexa, the more she realized how she really felt for her tag partner.
She loved her. And not the best friend type of love...
Y/N was sitting down in her shared locker room with Alexa, eating a piece of pizza when Alexa walked in. "Hey, can we talk?" Alexa asked. Y/N gave her a thumbs up and turned off the television before turning to look at Alexa who had just sat down next to her on the couch. "What's up?" Y/N asked, tossing the pizza on her plate and giving Alexa her full attention. "I was gonna ask why you've been so distant lately? You're always canceling our meet ups and most of the time I find out on Twitter that you basically ditched me for Charlotte," Alexa asked, slighty looking away as she didn't want to fully look at Y/N, scared of her reaction.
"Are you implying something? You do realize I'm not obligated to give you my attention every second, right?" Y/N raised a brow, immediately growing an attitude, but that was all to hide what she really wanted to say. Alexa frowned and squinted her eyes at Y/N, "I didn't say that. I'm just kinda bothered that you're not putting in as much work because you're too busy spending time with Charlotte."
Y/N scoffed and stood up, "No no no, I have been putting in my blood sweat and tears to make this team work. Just because I want to hang out with a friend doesn't mean I don't care about this team! I do care, and I show that every week when I walk down that ramp." Now Alexa had scoffed, "Oh yeah? Are you really that sure you're friends? It seems like way more than that to me." Y/N's eyes widened slightly at the accusation and she rolled her eyes, grabbing her bag and getting ready to leave. She wasn't scheduled for a match, she just had to cut a promo backstage for Alexa's match.
"Uh huh, leave. It's what you seem to do best! I mean you sure had no problem bailing on all our plans for Charlotte. Maybe you should go cry to her," Alexa said, causing Y/N to pause in her steps and shut the door. "You literally have no fucking idea what you're talking about! You wanna know why I pushed you away?! Because, I realized how much I actually like spending time with you. And I realized that I fell in love with you when I promised I wouldn't fall in love ever again. And maybe, just maybe, that scared the shit out of me, so I pushed you away, because I haven't felt this way about anyone since Ashley. So I'm sorry." Y/N stormed out before Alexa could even get a word out.
»»────── 𓆩♡𓆪 ──────««
Y/N walked down the halls, holding her duffle bag on her shoulder and heading down to the parking lot to leave. The show was finished, Alexa won her match but could barely focus on celebrating it because Y/N wasn't by her side. Y/N had powered her phone off as well so she ignored every single call and text she got from Lexi. Y/N cursed under her breath seeing Lexi standing beside her car which was parked right next to Y/N's motorcycle. Y/N immediately tossed her duffle bag on the back, not even sparing Lexi a glance which made her frown. As Y/N goes to hop on her bike, Lexi grabs her arm, stopping her.
"Can we talk in the car?" Lexi asked. Y/N licked her lips and reluctantly agreed after a few seconds of silence. Lexi walked around to the driver's side and Y/N hopped in the passenger seat. After a few seconds of awkward silence, Y/N finally decided to break it. "I meant it, ya know? Every word," she mumbled. Lexi suddenly grabbed Y/N by her jacket and pulled their lips together. It didn't take Y/N long to kiss back with more passion. Lexi pulled away first for breath and leaned her forehead against Y/N's, "I love you too." She mumbled. A smile grew on Y/N's face and she kissed Lexi again, and they pulled away after a few seconds to breath.
"I literally had the biggest crush on you for years, like way before I even met you," Lexi admitted. Y/N chuckled and leaned back in the seat. "If I met you sooner, I can guarantee that I would most definitely had liked you back."
Two days later, Y/N and Lexi both cuddled on Lexi's sofa, binge watching Disney movies.

So here we are! The beginning of the end! Aaaaah, I know I said I was so ready for the finale, but I actually don't know if I am ready for it to end fgdskjhh What a journey this fic has been!
So many important conversations in this chapter!
The tension is so present as everything gains a new context and the only way for all of them to remain calm was to fake it till they make it fdkjghdñkjhg It's just about all those normal moments mixed with the world tilting knowledge that makes it feel like such a surreal experience.
And yet the familiar is definitely present. There's the care that the boys show by being so aware of their body language, like passing y/n a sugar packet to stop them from potentially hurting themselves by digging their fingers in the table, or glancing constantly at their heart. (And I do wonder if after being so confident about what they can know from hearts, the boys suddenly wish they could sense even more, because while they might accurately guess some things, their nervousness shows they really were unsure about how everything could go. They never felt the need to know information that a heartbeat couldn't provide them. And right now it seemed it's something they really wanted)
(First sidenote [there will be several XD]: it was so funny to me how the waitress was all "tee hee I see you lovebirds" about this, and meanwhile y/n is having the most critical conversation of their life fkgñjhsjdfg)
And aaaah, I'm sure it's not a priority for Eclipse right now, but like, they were really able to get a good look at the hunters insecurities and self doubts. As readers we are very familiar with them, and perhaps the boys had been able to suspect them, but y/n always liked to act confident about them. Whenever they were harsh on their own "failings" it was mostly internal. Right now, the hunter is at the most vulnerable. They ask if they were hoping they would fail to protect people so they could get more hearts ("did you think I was incompetent all this time?"), if they found it funny how they would claim to protect them when they clearly don't see the hunter as a threat towards them, easily taking all their weapons away ("I'm not that strong, I must have looked like a fool"), their comment about failing to protect so many people, when they actually do protect so many.
But of course it's not just about that. Y/n is also in desperate need to know their intentions. They did just found out that there was a big part of their relationship that was a lie. They really need to know what their answers are and to make sense of them. To look back at everything and decide if it all sounds right and fits. To know and try to decipher if there really is no cruelty hidden deep down, or if they can trust this whole thing at all. There's so many conflicting feelings right now, including everything they thought they knew. It must be very wild to them, how being a hunter they were used to knowing more than the average person about a certain part of the world, only to suddenly feel like they know nothing at all.
(Sidenote 2: On the more technical side, I really love how you managed the pacing of the conversation. There is such a careful back and forth, both wary of the reactions of the other with every new piece of info revealed! One side desperate to seem honest and worthy of trust while knowing it’s a lot to ask, and the other wanting to believe in what they’re told but unable to fully just yet because of the previous hurt and a lingering sense of betrayal. Oh and also I really loved how you used the hand touches as the conversation progressed! Like at first it was very distant. Hesitant and only getting close but no contact. Then it was light taps and softly laying a hand on top of the other, and then advancing to actually taking each other’s hands and lacing their fingers together! Very nice visual representation of how things were going!)
(Sidenote after the sidenote because yes: Kudos to y/n when they spoke about mothman because I would have devolved into hysterical giggles after realizing the big scary demon across the table, which has been trying to very seriously make a case for themselves and their true nature, is basically pouting at remembering the short-lived one sided rivalry they had with a cryptid neither the hunter nor said demon had encounter before wheeze. Ironically, I think this is one of the most important parts of what they discussed, because it demonstrates that they can be more than just the frightening being they know demons to be. There really is no possible objective if their intentions were only malicious to act so sour about the whole mothman deal. It makes them seem genuine and nuanced and not so dignified and distant to what the hunter themselves are.)
But AAAAAAA then there it is! The truth about the murdered nameless hunter. I’m just gonna say “Stepping over fear, you open your eyes and face Eclipse”, was such a banger intro line for this part, because gosh if that’s not what this chapter is all about. No more denial, no more choosing to leave it be. It’s all about the truth right now, no matter how much it might hurt or suprise. Ahhh, the taking a step away from them and dropping their hand hit so hard, especially because of what I mentioned before of the hand touches. Of course that would be what the neuter would take the hardest! And oooh I do have to wonder if their reaction took Eclipse by surprise, not because they weren’t expecting y/n to be horrified by it, but because y/n immediately blamed themselves.
Sun and Moon have witnessed how much the hunter cares. How the suffering of others is something they wish to stop at all costs and take it hard when they can’t stop it. And they’re suddenly confronted with the reality that something they did without a second thought, even delight, now has their kind heart looking at their own human hands and seeing blood. Blood y/n feels responsible for because it derives from the decision of trusting them. And hoo boy do I imagine that hurts badly. They seem to handle better the idea of the hunter hating them than the hunter hating themselves.
And ahh that vow! It really is the culmination of all those months together. All that time building that bond and how much the journey they have been through together means to them. Just a couple paragraphs before the hunter is suddenly having doubts again. Doubts that there might be affection now and they’ll be discarded as a toy later. But all those big and small moments can’t have been nothing. So they put everything on the line by choosing to believe them as long as they swear they’ll never cross again the line of what they cannot stand for. It’s the very reason they do what they do after all. And for the boys that’s such an important vow to accept. Because it’s never been part of their morality or something that bothered them too much. It’s promising that no matter if they are starving like they experienced before, they will not kill someone who doesn’t deserve it. It’s trusting that now that the truth is out, the hunter will also help to not let them go hungry. It’s a big enough deal to deliberate for a while. But they accept, because they know it’s the one thing that determines whether their heart is willing to let them stay or not. The one unshakable boundary.
(sidenote: it occurs to me that, worst case scenario, even if the hunter did not have the hope that all of it had been real, that they would have still said yes to them tagging along. Because if the vow would save innocent people, then that’s the only option they would feel is right. But that’s just a slightly sadder alternative because I’m sure the boys would prove themselves to be serious about it either way XD)
Of course it’s not a vow that immediately fixes everything. I have a feeling the boys will be faced with questions like that one about them leaving while y/n is asleep. It can be harsh to not be believed when they have promised to be honest, but they know their word has yet to earn their trust and that the time after the rake attack cut very deep. But there’s a sense of things being settled and it’s clear how they all really missed the familiarity and companionship they were all used to.
But this is getting very long! XD So the last thing I wanted to comment on is that now the search for Vanessa truly begins! I am vibrating in my seat waiting not only for the final confrontation and the reveal of who this demon really is, but also to see what the cooperation of the hunter and Eclipse will be able to achieve in a hunt! And also, I have a feeling that saltshaker is definitely gonna come into play. How? I don’t know! But I am keeping my eyes open!
(Last sidenote: I suddenly thought of the demonic “family gatherings” and how the others might notice how meeting the hunter has changed the boys. They themselves say they are inspired by their kindness and that they want to do better. So will they seem a bit softer around the edges when they meet their family again? I imagine that after thousands of years of not changing much, the difference would be noticeable to the few they hold dear, right?)
But aaaah, that’s it for now! Awesome chapter, Naff! I imagine things will not be half as calm from this point on and I still don’t know if I’m ready but I do know I’m looking forward to it! :D
Tumblr media
I'm gonna explode from all your analysis sand catching the little details! I'm vibrating at the speed of sound in my seat as we speak alsjdfalsd
AHHHH THANK YOU SO MUCH!
A few things I want to touch on: For your worst-case scenario, first off! Ouch, you poked my heart ;-;. Second off, you're right that the hunter wouldn't want Eclipse out of their sights regardless of their current relationship status! Even if Y/N didn't believe Sun and Moon were genuine in all of their dealings, Y/N couldn't have them out and about, doing whatever a demonic cryptid does (not exactly bloodless things).
Ahhhh, demonic family gatherings is something the cryptids should slap on some shirts when they do get together pfffft! The others, the 'glamrocks', would notice how much Eclipse has softened, especially for this adult! Just, wow, they're bringing a little mortal back so they can introduce them to the fam? Who is this human that's stolen their darling Eclipse's, non-existent heart? They're all very excited to meet you! Though, it is a bit overwhelming to meet so many demonic cryptids gathered in one place, but don't worry, you're sweetie knows when to take you away for a break from their big, spooky family hehe
Thanks, babe! ♥

WARNING: this is very much a vent. I mention bullying, forced hospitalization and (very vaguely) a suicide attempt. Take care.
Also! I get sappy about a kids cartoon. The horror!
I... I can't believe the Owl House is over.
I know it sounds clichee (but who cares about cringe, right?) but it feels like I'm saying goodbye to a giant part of myself. I was this hurt, little kid, lying in a bathtub at 14 years old and trying to make it all end.
And now, I don't know who I am. But I think this show helped me figure it out, or send me on the way to do so.
I'm no longer suicidal, or in danger of hurting myself. I would love to say I don't care about categorizing myself to make it all make sense anymore, but I do. I think that categorizing will always be a big part of how I work.
The person I was two years ago is completely unfamiliar to me. They don't seem, well, real, somehow.
I started watching this show in the summer of 2021, meaning I got to it around the time of season 2A. I was hurt, trying to claw my way out of the trauma of being bullied all my life, trying to end said life and being hospitalized by people who didn't care at all about me and just hoped it would somehow make me fit into society.
I didn't even realize that I hurt others in the process. When people tell me stories about how I acted back then, I can't believe that they are actually talking about me. It's like I was under some kind of veil, locking me away from the world. I was so focused on getting better and fixing me how I thought was right, that I didn't notice what I was actually doing.
And then suddenly, there was this show about a stupid kid that couldn't let go of their fantasies about how life was supposed to be.
A kid that had never really fit in.
A kid that had to stop and think about how their choices were affecting others, who had to learn and grow and heal, and suddenly, there was a literal light at the end of the fucking swamp I had found myself in.
It was like Luz offered me her hand so we could both find the way out together. And I took it.
The Owl House was my first hyperfixation after spending years stuck in survival mode, and it felt so good to just be myself.
To squeal excidedly about new episodes and fanart and edits, to write fanfics with questionable characterization and way too much gore, that might have been objectively bad, but ultimately helped me to get where I am now and that still get a lot of love (to my surprise).
Trying to understand a character so I could portray them right led to me trying to understand the people around me so I could stop simple conversations with my sibling ending in a screaming match.
It was so easy to forget that everyone has minds of their own, but just like I had to figure out how Hunter would react to loosing everything he had ever had, I had to figure out how to react to my family loosing me.
Because they did loose me. Even if I didn't die in that bathtub, they lost the child they had raised and were suddenly confronted with this strange teenager, staring into their faces with empty eyes and screaming that they didn't understand ANYTHING because how could they possibly do so.
And suddenly, it's 2023 and the Owl House is over.
Time is passing, whether I want it to or not. Luz found her place in the world.
I think I'm finally ready to find my own.
.
Also, her maybe sort of titan look was awesome as hell. I want to highfive her so baaaaaaad.

I'm kinda upset rn
Pixar needs to contact me because i think i just dreamed a blockbuster his movie
I just had a dream about a movie about cavemen/aliens/dinosaurs (possibly a combination of all three who knows, i don't, and it was my dream)
The main focus was this family, (mom, dad, preteen girl, small child boy) and this new commer (preteen boy)
It took place on this strange floating desert island that was largely dangerous because it had many deadly creatures and the terrain did strange things that couldn't (any never would) be explained.
It seemed like there were lots of remains of a technologically advanced species before them
Character descriptions are this
The dad is super silly and makes a lot of bad dad jokes, he loves his family so much and he acts a bit stupid even tho he isn't, he is however wildly and incredibly strong
The mom is very kind but mildly exasperated with everyone, tho the parents are a Team she seems to be the Leader of this group, she's the one that's most suspicious of this new boy. She is incredibly smart and resourceful
The preteen girl is wild and curious but she feels a little held back by her family, she wants to properly stretch her legs and she thinks she can do that better without them. She has a bag filled with things that's she's collected and she's desperately trying to figure out what happened to the world that made it this desert wasteland
The little kid is very sweet and innocent, he's just as curious as his sister but he obviously is much more clingy to his family (as small children are)
The new kid is both distant and clingy with the family, he has moments with each of them that really show how well he fits in them but there's something off about his behavior that is revealed at the climax of the movie
There are a couple other families that are met but not important to the plot at large, mostly there to show that there's other people and the protective nature of the mom
The lackey group of about five people two of which has zero lines but have a weirdly impactful Moment with either teen boy or teen girl, the Leader of the group ends up being the smallest guy who you don't realize is the leader until either teen girl or teen boy get captured. You find out then that these guys are just bounty hunters trying to do their job but maybe their job isn't worth doing if it means they have to kidnap kids. The last two are the comic relief of the movie that bicker a lot. The guy who is lanky and tries to lower the tension a lot by saying witty things like "oh we thought you two might come here for the romantic view" and the lady who is buff and seems like the primary brute force and also seems like she might be the group leader at first
Then theres the villain he has this whole thing with being "The Real Hero of The Story" and he's incredibly suave and smart and arrogant. But he's vindictive and cruel
From what I can remember the main plot was that the villain essentially caused a curse over the land by not fulfilling his side of the deal with the gods, a deal he made to win the war (like a hundred years ago and it's never said what the war was about)
The curse caused everything to be this desert wasteland but also curse him to this undead state of entropy and pain
He's the one that sent the bounty hunters after the teen boy
So this kids running away and stumbles upon the family they have these nice bonding moments and altho the mom is suspicious of him, she warms up to him just before the movie climax
A lot of the early part of the movie is him being really knowledgeable about the architecture, archeology, and ancient technologies while girl is really knowledgeable about survival, scavenging, and he deep fascination with knick knacks. All that while being subtly hunted by the lackeys
The tension starts the rise when the family finds out the lackeys are after the boy specifically and that they aren't going to stop until they've gotten him
The climax begins while mom and dad are arguing about whether or not boy can stay with them
Mad that mom and dad might make boy leave, girl starts ranting about how unfair it all is but boy argues that mom and dad are right to want him to leave, he is dangerous to have around
They get into a fight as well and her bag of knick knacks gets destroyed or lost down a ravine in the kerfuffle
She gets so incredibly mad and runs off (the audience should be mildly upset about the bag as well since it represented her hopes and dreams)
She gets grabbed by the lackeys and the lackeys confront the family with her
The mom who had been about to side with "We need to let this boy stay. He's just a child and he shouldn't be alone." Turns on the boy
Trying to explain his actions but giving up half way through the boy says something like "I'm sorry you got hurt, i was being selfish." Before trading himself with the girl.
They hand the boy over to the main villain and he does his villain monologue where he explains everything and how boy has the missing piece and knowledge to fix everything
How if boy stops being selfish the world could be a wonderful place again (with villain as it's protector and leader)
Cut to the lackeys at a bar or watering hoke or something and theyre talking about how the boy is probably going to get killed and how it's fucked up that this is their job and how many families did they destroy doing this guys bidding and is the money really worth it
And family over hears this and mom goes full Mom™ and is like YOU NEED TO EXPLAIN RIGHT NOW!
And the lackeys explain that villain could fix the world but if he did that he wouldn't get unlimited power and how once the archeologist/research scientists realized this many of them tried to hide how to fix the Thing™ and villain killed them for it
And how Boys mother was one of those people and they didn't know that her kid was watching when she died but villain figured out that boy stole a piece
And now that's the only piece needed to finish the Thing™
Cut to boy puting the Thing™ together and suddenly getting visions of the Gods that did this all, he can't see their faces but theirs voices come through, they ask what he desires
At the last moment one Goddess calls him a brave boy and he says he's just selfish
And she says perhaps and kisses his forehead and for a moment he has his mom back and she's there and alive and she's wonderful and it's all he's ever wanted and maybe they aren't survivalists like the Family™ but he could take her to them and
And then he thinks about how the family struggles so much just to have food and water and how the world could be plush with greens and Life and he could ask for that but
But he wouldn't get his mom back
And he starts crying and apologizing and his mom kisses his forehead and says that's it's okay and he'll be okay and she sings a lullaby that he was humming early in the movie and they hugs so tightly and desperately
Then cut to the family and the lackeys doing a cook but of breaking in to the villains lair and kicking butt and and they find the boy
But he's holding the Thing™ and his eyes are glowing and the villain says it's too late that once the life is sucked out of the boy he'll finally get his power and that he'll be a benevolent king
And you see the power of the gods start to fill the villain and
Cut to the boy and it's just him and the goddess asks him again, this time with a voice quite like his mother's, "What do you desire?"
Tears drip down his face and he mumbles out a small sorry
Cut too light filling the room from the tech but it's way too much
And lanky lackey says "it's gonna blow!"
And villain realizes he's being destroyed not made anew
And mom grabs the boy and they run
It explodes!
Then darkness and voices, his mom's voice!
He sits up quickly but!
It's not his mom, his mom is dead
But the world, the world isn't dead anymore and that's enough
As the movie winds down and you find out that lanky lackeys repeated comments about girl and boy being romantic were just him projecting because he wants to be romantic with buff lady lackey
The family are having a sweet moment about seeing their differences and loving each other and mom looks over and sees boy, sitting alone, looking at the Thing™ in his hands
Dad speaks up and says hey kiddo, we've got room for more over here
And boy runs over and hugs them
And it's not his mom, so it'll never be perfect
But it's enough, and he thinks she'd be happy to know that
Then cut to like five years later, boy and girl are still Just Friends (i cannot stress this enough) but they're older and wiser and even more of a handful for mom and dad
Buff lackey has like a mentor thing going on with the small kid and lanky looks dreamily on at his wife with a child
And the world is beautiful, and their home is plentiful and filled with laughter, and their community is happy and healthy
And many things were lost, and it isn't perfect, but it's enough
And that was the low down of my movie dream
Pixar hit me up

Loki x Sylvie fanfiction
[LOKI FINALE SPOILERS]
dt @entertainmentforgods
(every mean comments about this ship will be deleted. If you don't like this ship, please just ignore.)
They did it, it was over. The impossible had come true.
Their heart beating wildly, the anguish of their uncertainty gradually fades as they understand the finality of it all.
Loki and Sylvie had joined forces to destroy the true mastermind of the TVA. The overpowered individual who pulled the strings behind the curtain.
The Goddess of Mischief dropped her bloodstained sword on the dark ground, making a loud metallic sound. He Who Remains had just gave his last breath.
Sylvie took a deep breath while staring at the inert body of the one who called himself The Conqueror. As Loki stood behind her, he watched her worriedly. She had just accomplished what she had fought for all her life. So many years feeding a justified anger towards one man, for it turned out that the Time Keepers were nothing but a sham. So many years of hiding, of surviving in the midst of so many apocalypses instead of just living fearlessly. Instead of living happily, instead of laughing, smiling, dancing, singing, enjoying the present moment, observing the universe and its many wonders without them being destroyed around her, loving and being loved in return... All of that was taken away from her, because The Ruler had decided to do so. Because only one man had made the decision to sacrifice her timeline and her family and those she loved. She had lost everything as a child, because a human had condemned her existence.
And now, the latter had just died. He had lived millions of lives, and the last had just ended, killed by the vengeful hand of an innocent orphan.
Slowly, Loki moved closer to her as he kept his eyes on her. Then when he was right behind her, he gently took her hand to try to get her out of her torpor. Her face turned to him as her gaze was drawn to the ground. She was still trying to regulate her breathing and realize the previous events.
"Come with me…" He half-murmurs, his blue eyes tinted with green watching his partner's reaction carefully, anxious to see her breaking down despite her strength to contain her emotions.
It was then that she nodded softly, still too absorbed by this decisive moment in her life. Sylvie turns to him with the intention of following him, no matter where he wanted to take her.
A few seconds later, both found themselves outside the entrance to the Citadel.
Loki went down the few steps, before sitting quietly on one of them. His teammate was not far away and she watched him get comfortable, while thousands of thoughts jostled in her mind. Curious, Loki brought his attention to her. When their eyes met, she began her steps to him to sit beside him on the step.
A deep sigh escaped her lips as she sat down comfortably, her eyes fixed in front of her, finally noticing the awe-inspiring beauty of the sacred timeline they both would have admired sooner if it were in a less disastrous context. But now as they ran after time, it was as if it has just stopped.
The variants observed this painting before them, this masterpiece born from space and the end of the universe. For a moment, a pleasant silence rocked them in a surreal dream. Their eyes shine brightly, illuminated by the cosmos and time materialised in a perfectly fluid and sparkling line. But also, their intense feelings took over and tears had formed.
Hesitant but at the same time strangely confident, Loki turned to Sylvie, only able to imagine how she felt now.
"You're okay ?" He dares to ask softly.
Suffering of an internal conflict, Sylvie keeps her eyes wide open and try to look indifferent.
"I accomplished my mission, how do you think I feel ?" She replies naturally, almost on the defensive.
"Relieved ?"
"Yeah, among other things." She confirms with obviousness.
Amused by her slightly aggressive responses which, according to him, are what make her what she is, the god of mischief ends up stretching a tender smirk, realizing that this tone will never leave her no matter the situations in which they find themselves, as dramatic and catastrophic as they may be.
Innocently, Sylvie ends up looking at her partner.
"Why do you smile ?" She asks.
He smiles a little more.
"The real question is... why don’t you ?" Loki retorts, eyebrows raised.
The Enchantress raised her eyebrows in turn, that desperate, lonely look that makes her charm appearing on her face. What to answer to that? She had learned that Loki was insightful about her, but she wasn't used to being the center of attention that much.
"Why seek answers to trivial questions." She asks rhetorically as she looks away from him.
After a while, Loki also turned away, dissatisfied with her answer but still preferring to let go.
"So this is it..." He starts. "It's done."
"It's done." Sylvie asserts, nodding her head a little.
His eyes going here and there, Odin's son was asking himself lots of questions. Including one in particular.
"What do we do now ?" He wonders, seeming lost.
Sylvie took a deep breath again, ignoring like him the future of events.
"Should we go back to the TVA ?" Loki continues, bringing his gaze back to the one person he trusted.
"Why ?" She asks softly. "They don't need us anymore."
"But we don't have to hide." He responds with a comforting smile. "We are their allies."
"Is that what you want, to go back to the TVA ? But to do what ?" She asks again, looking into his eyes.
He thought for a moment, trying to unravel this enigmatic knot, stepping into the unknown.
"The Sacred Timeline is free" He said, emphasizing the first words in an exaggerated and caricatural way. "Maybe once we get there, we can look for another timeline where we can... fit in ?"
A silence took hold of them, leaving for only words the looks they exchanged.
Sylvie then ends up lowering her gaze in the direction of her own hands, revealing between her fingers the object that the Conqueror kept around his hand. The tempad.
"How about we take a break, until one of us finds a place to go ?" She offers softly, lost in thought as she doesn't take her eyes off the object.
"What, here ?" Loki asks, uncertain and surprised by her answer.
"Why not..?" She replies, her eyebrows raised, her mind being elsewhere. "When you've seen thousands of apocalypses, The Void isn't as bad as it seems."
Loki takes the time to consider this idea, thinking about everything else. The members of the TVA, the sacred timeline that has become completely independent, the very few people to which he is attached. They had just accomplished something huge, should they just ignore the multitudes of consequences their act caused ?
"It's over, Loki." Sylvie said, looking up at him.
Again, his gaze plunged deeply into her eyes
"We did what we had to do." She continues, looking serene.
"What if they still need us ?" He asks, referring to the TVA, specifically Mobius and hunter B-15, the only two people who believed in them and offered their precious help.
Sylvie watched the sacred timeline as it gradually divided, and she sighed.
"I am tired." She admits, ignoring Loki's question. "And you ?"
Loki admired the many timelines that continued to split, before taking a deep breath.
"Yes, me too..." He answers softly, releasing his breath, releasing the pressure he had been holding since his arrival at the TVA and which he hadn't known he had kept in him all this time until now.
However, he couldn't shake off his negative thoughts and all his apprehensions about the completion of their mission and the impact it will have on the trillions of people the universe can create. The god of mischief had, against all odds, developed a conscience and a moral code. Yes, they had delivered the world by giving it back its free will. But for some reason that he didn't quite understand, he began to doubt.
And buried into his torment, Sylvie brought a comforting hand to his.
Loki laid his eyes on this delicate hand, yet belonging to that of a warrior, his heart missing a beat at the gentle contact of the one he had become crazy about. In this moment of complexity, in this major turning point for the multiverse, he almost forgot his feelings. He almost forgot the way they looked at each other in the Citadel as they walked into the darkness. He almost forgot the moment she had gripped his hand in the Void, in front of Alioth, hoping to help him unleash his enchantment powers.
Suddenly caught up in his emotions, he looked up uncertainly in the direction of his partner. Then, she gave him a brief smile, but oh so genuine. The same smile she had given him on Lamentis, while everything around them was death and destruction. Apparently everything was written. But he decided to ignore this detail that the conqueror had shared with too much pride.
Still confused by these unusual feelings, Loki returned that affectionate and heartwarming smile. Only, looking into her expressive eyes - but in the greatest secret, a loving gaze- he realized that the very thing he wanted above all now was to never leave her again. To stay by her side, as long as possible, even forever, better than that : beyond death. His desires made him all the more nervous. He never thought he would be so consumed by his moods, let alone by a loving emotion that possesses him more and more after each day he spends in her company. Nevertheless he wanted to seize this desire and make it come true.
This time, it is the TVA that he forgets, it is the universe that he neglect, it is the time that he ignores.
It is his glorious purpose that he gave up, because he found a new one...
"Sylvie..." He said, drunk with love for her. "I..."
"No, Loki, wait." Sylvie interrupts him, being totally lost and frightened at the same time. "I have to tell you something..."
"Yes ?" He asks, innocent, patient, in love.
She looked at him intensely, trying to express herself. Something seemed to upset her. Loki was trying to read into her eyes, to read her face, when no word could break the barrier of her lips. Disturbed by this confession, it turned out that it was getting stuck between the walls of her throat.
So the Prince of Asgard frowned, intrigued by the torture she was inflicting on herself through this mysterious revelation.
"I..." She starts before her lips instantly seal.
She took a deep breath, bracing herself for another attempt, as Loki's piercing, loving gaze dug into her pupils until it consumed her whole being.
When finally, in complete disarray, she ends up throwing herself at his neck.
Her lips crashed against his, tenderly, passionately but mostly timidly. Surprised but more than grateful for this proof of unexpected love, Loki was not long in returning her kiss with just as much fervor.
Sylvie had never been attached to anyone. She never wanted to be weak because of her feelings. She would never have dedicated herself to someone body and soul, for trusting and breaking down the imposing and solid walls she had built around her was inconceivable. And yet, faced with the many selfless acts of the one who had irrupted into her plan, she had found herself giving him importance. She hated knowing that she was only considering trusting him. She hated the fact that he could climb these walls she had locked herself between.
Worse yet, she was terrified to find herself reaching out to help him climb.
Eyes closed, they kissed each other with fragility, embarrassed to feel such intense emotions but oh how much they surrendered to them.
Sitting side by side, they relished this moment of sincerity and calm after all they had endured. The highlight of their journey. The completion of a battle for freedom, the same cause that the rightful king of Asgard fought against to make it inaccessible to the people of the earth. This cause that he finally chose to defend ; for him at the beginning, but for her on the way, and for the others at the end of their fight.
Slowly, they parted. Loki then dared to rest his forehead tenderly against hers. They kept their eyes closed, as if to immortalized this moment in their memories, for who knows what might happen to them tomorrow.
That's why he whispered these few words :
"You're right, I... I'm a little tired..." He admitted again hesitantly, unsettled by this moment of pure sincerity.
Keeping her forehead against his, Sylvie nodded gently, not daring to open her eyes to face the truth she still had trouble swallowing.
"Let's stay here..." Loki continues.
"Only for a little while." She continues nervously, muttering her desires like him, probably too afraid that someone will hear them or too embarrassed to admit she is weak in front of him, while he is weak in front of her.
"Yes, after all... If something goes wrong, they know where to find us, right ?" He responds with a raised eyebrow as he still kept his eyes closed, trying to reassure himself by making excuses to stay.
"Yeah, of course, nothing prevents Mobius from coming back here." She confirmed casually.
"Well, unless... Unless he had to prune himself." He said worriedly. "But it’s not as if we have no way to reach them !" He adds anyway, optimistic and trying not to feel guilty.
“Yes ! We have the--” She mimics his optimism, as she pulls away from his forehead to observe the object in her free hand.
"T-the tempad..." He confirms by muttering and nodding his head, bringing in turn his attention to the latter.
The taste of her lips was still too present on Loki's for him to think properly. However, he was trying.
Shyly, he finally looked at her again, a quiet smile displayed on his face.
Of course, Sylvie had noticed it. How to ignore him ? So, embarrassed, she gave him an uncertain look, having no idea how they should react now. After all, despite their thousand years of life, the variants had never really been devoted to feelings or romance that seemed more than superfluous and unnecessary at the time. Although they were aware of their emotions, repressed or not, knowing how to react to them was still an area to be explored.
The landscape around them gradually brought her back to reality. Then, looking worried, she turned her gaze to the entrance to the Citadel. She remembered the corpse of the He Who Remains, the one who had wiped out her timeline and certainly thousands more.
Loki frowned, noticing the change in expression on his partner's face.
"Are you sure you’re okay ?" He asks once more with patience.
Lost in thought, Sylvie continued to look at the place where everything had changed with a blank stare.
"No..." she sighs slowly.
The god of mischief was envious to possess the complicated mind of his variant for the sole purpose of finding the source of her ill-being. It would be enough for him to touch her to enchant her, now that he knows the secrets of enchantment. However, would he dare ? He hesitated for a fraction of a second, before totally rejecting the idea away from him. He was incapable of defying her trust, for he knew full well that he would risk a lot if he tried. Especially since he was still cruelly lacking in experience concerning enchantments.
"But when I wake up tomorrow knowing that the one responsible for all this horror is only a memory, then I could savor every second of my life." She asserts returning her attention to Loki as if nothing had happened, speaking with confidence and lightness.
Perplexed but somewhat reassured, he just nodded briefly, straining to accept her answer. However, something in him told him that she wasn't being entirely truthful.
"...Glorious purpose." He said, trying to lighten the mood.
"Mh..." She only answers, a quiet smirk nestling in the corner of her lips.
Calm eventually took over. Neither of them spoke, only watching the story of trillions of lives forming before their eyes in those many fluorescent lines.
"We're not leaving." He speaks up, his statement sounding more like a question mark.
"We're not leaving." She repeats with a little more conviction than him.
Slowly, he finally took a light breath, before sighing in contentment.
After an extremely difficult journey that could have cost them their lives, even though the Ruler had decided that they would be spared so that they could both achieve their goal, they were going to be able to rest, they were going to be able to breathe. Because even if the gods have more ability than humans to resist fatigue and pain, they could do nothing before the effervescence of their emotions. And as tough as they could be, they were tired, mentally and physically.
Thereupon, on this mutual agreement, the two variants had decided that it was time for them to rest for a while. They didn’t know what they were going to do. But they had decided to figure this out…
Together.

You hadn't ment to fall asleep while you groomed your scales, you weren't even aware you had dozed off till an absolutely blood curdling scream and the sound of something wooden clattering to the floor woke you up. With a suprised grunt, your eyes shot open and you attempted to stand, causing you to bump your head and the points of your antlers hard against the cieling. You wriggled and writhed in a panic, desperately trying to move around as you had forgotten where you were.
"Princess?!?!"
Your head snapped to the open door to see a terrified Kinu, shaking with her hands covering her mouth, and the tray of food she had been carrying splayed out on the flooring. Your own eyes widened in suprise, but you quickly snapped out of it when she moved to run away. Without thinking, you lunged for her, catching her with your teeth by the back of her obi and pulling her into the med bay before using your nose to shut the door - all while she screeched in fear for her life.
"Kinu!" You called her name to try and get her attention, but she couldn't hear you over all her screaming. With a huff, you carried her to the center of the room. She was struggling and beginning to sob and hyperventilate as she tried to free herself from your grasp.
"Kinu!" She gasped and paused in her frightened fit at the sound of your voice.
"P-princess?!" She looked around the room, unsure of where your voice had originated from.
"I'm right here, Kinu."
She visibly froze and looked behind her to see you, "Oh goodness...!" The poor girl looked like she was on the verge of tears, "The beast ate you princess?!"
You sighed through your nose and rolled your eyes before gently putting her down on the floor and released her, "No Kinu," you corrected, "It is me."
She swallowed a thick lump in her throat, "Huh...?" And looked up up at you with her jaw dropped and eyes wide, "P-princess?"
"Yes, Kinu," you tilted your head slightly to the side, right ear twitching as you gazed at your maid. You briefly wondered how many times you would have to reiterate this.
"Wha-wha-what happened to you?" Her voice was shaky as she trembled, causing her to stutter.
"Nothing," you blinked, "I am the same as I've always been."
"But-but you're a...uh-"
"Dragon," you finished for her.
"Yes," her breathing was still erratic, but she was beginning to calm down. She collapsed into a sitting position on the floor as she watched you shift back to normal. She scrambled on all fours to hand you your robe once you had finished and she realized you were naked, "I came to collect you for your bath, Milady..."
She seemed afraid of you, but you couldn't really blame her. "Thank you," you gave her a small smile, taking the robe and sliding it on before securing it. Kinu simply nodded and staggered back to her feet, before silently motioning for you to follow. You trailed after her to the bath house where everything was laid out - towels on the racks, bath nice and hot, and some scrubbing rags by the tub.
"Well, miss," Kinu kept it formal, too on edge to be as open as she had previously been with you, "I'll leave you to it."
"Actually, Kinu," You called to her before she could exit the room, "I could use your assistance."
She turned back to see you sliding off your robe and climbing the steps to enter the bath. She gulped and silently made her way back to you while you settled into the tub. A small sob bubbled from within her throat. What were you going to do with her? Did she know too much? Were you going to drown her in the tub for finding out your secret? You could simply say that she slipped and fell into the tub while she was preparing it and no one would question a thing. Tears welled up in her eyes and slowly trickled down her face, "Miss?"
"You have a body scrub I can use, yes? And a brush?"
She nodded, walking over to the shelf on the back wall and pulled down a wooden box before placing it on one of the steps and opening it. She pulled out a brush, a bowl, and a few jars - opening them before pouring a bit of the contents into the mixing bowl. First she poured some pure white sand into the bowl, followed by ground salt. You watched her with curious eyes as she added a few herbs, oils, and other plants, "I thought salt was valuable?"
Maybe you had your history wrong, but you thought salt used to be very rare back in the old days. It was even sometimes treated as a commodity by some countries. "In places without easy access to the sea, yes. Besides, this is a special stash we keep for important guests."
Made sense.
After she mixed the ingredients thoroughly, you saw her peal what looked like an aloe vera leaf and add it to create a lotion-like substance. She then picked up the bowl and walked around the bath to the side you were leaning against and set it down on the top step, before taking a seat herself. She was obviously nervous, and was using the home made bath scrub as a fidgeting tool - constantly stirring it even after it had been consistently mixed.
"You have questions," you broke the silence and heard a sharp intake of air from her.
"T-the others, Milady," it took her a moment to gather her thoughts, and fight back the sobs that racked her body enough to form a coherent question, "d-do they know?"
"No, they are unaware," you sighed, making the silent decision not to tell her about Mitsuhide. She was shaken up enough as it was, you don't need to give the girl even an inkling that you may have threatened him.
"O-oh," she sighed. So you were in hiding? "W-what exactly are you, Milday?" There was still a bit of shakiness to her voice.
"A dragon."
"Are there more of you?" She gently began to brush your hair in an effort to give her hands something to do other than shake. She was careful when removing all the knots that had accumulated over the semi-long period of neglect. You took this moment to ponder where your ancestors would be in this current time period.
"Yes," she paused along with you before the both of you continued, "I think at around this time my kind was- are divided. Some of us live among the people, but most of us live in more remote places away from civilization."
Kinu stopped her motions once again, but this time she leaned over the edge of the tub so she could look at you, "Why?"
"I suspect because of the hunters."
Her brows furrowed in concern, people hunted dragons? Were there some hunting you? Well that explained why you hid yourself, and though it wasn't the full reason - had she voiced it she wouldn't be entirely wrong, "Hunters?"
"Yes there were-" you corrected yourself, "are many of them these days. Most of us think living with humans isn't worth the possibility of being killed, so we live secluded in very hidden locations."
"Oh," she seemed to sadden at this, before placing the washcloth into the bowl, and began to wash your shoulders, working her way to your neck before scrubbing back out towards your arms. She thought about your explanation, as well as the way you had been treating everyone since your arrival. She thought your confidence among the warlords was something to be admired - especially in the eyes of she and the more timid maids, and you had been fairly kind to her and the other servants thus far, "Well I think that truly is a great loss to the world that you should all stay hidden."
You chuckled at her naive view, but you couldn't blaim her, ignorance was bliss in this case but also dangerous. You were the only one of your kind she'd probably ever met (knowingly), "Most of us avoid people like the plague."
She tilted her head, not understanding the phrase, though whether is was due to lack of schooling or because Japan had yet to hear of the plague was beyond you, "But those of us who do live among you all," you sneared as you recalled the history of your people, "Nasty."
Oh yes, there was no end to the list of abhorrent things your kind did to the humans back in the old days. Sure there were some who just wanted to live peaceful lives along side strangers who looked like them, but others... human trafficking and cannibalism (can it be called that?) to name a few.
"What do you mean, miss?" Surely it couldn't be any worse than some of the things people already did to each other, and on some levels she was right, but still, "You don't want to know."
Kinu took that as her cue to shut her mouth before she continued scrubbing, but she stopped when you turned around to face her, "Would you head back to my room and prepare everything for me?" You looked at her with soft eyes and a kind smile. This was probably a lot for her to take in, and you wanted to give her a moment to sort herself out.
"Well sure, Milady. Was there a particular kimono you had in mind," she smiled feeling a bit more at ease now that the two of you had time to talk.
"No, I trust your judgment," besides, she probably knew better than you what would be more appropriate for an occasion such as this. Her smile widened, and she nodded before heading off to go prepare everything for you, and once you heard the door shut you let out a sigh. Today had not been the best, but hopefully from here on out things would get better.
You finished up your bath - scrubbing off all the unseen dirt and grime that must have accumulated from your many days without self care, before drying off, grabbing a new robe, and sliding it on to head back to your room. You must have been in there for at least an hour and a half, because when you returned there were two mugs of water on your dresser along with another full of elixer.
Kinu looked up from smoothing out the kimono that had been laid out for you and followed your gaze, "Ah yes, Lord Ieyasu said he wanted you to drink at least one glass of water and your next dose of elixer before you went to the feast."
You gave Kinu a tight smile accompanied by a small humourless laugh, "Yes, of course," that was the first thing you did after closing the door behind you - hoping that the preparations for tonight would take long enough that both drinks wouldn't spoil your dinner too much. At first you weren't going to drink the second glass of water, but the medicine seemed to be getting worse everytime you drank it, so the extra glass was useful for getting rid of the disgusting aftertaste.
You now stood in front of a mirror that had been brought to your room to dress you and eyed the choice of design on your kimono rather curiously. There was an embroidery of a large dragon that stretched from below your waist line to the bottom of the kimono, the main color matched that of your scales, the stitched dragon matched your secondary colors, and the floral designs that served as a background for the dragon added a variety of color. Your hair was in a nice bun with loose curls and decorative accessories of flowers here and there. You almost didn't recognize your reflection staring right back at you, and you remained silent till the other maids left.
"You look beautiful, Princess," Kinu smiled, the imagery of the designs of your Kimono ironically flying over her head - even just after your conversation, though you wondered if she had done this intentionally.
"Kinu, did you pick this for me?" You turned and gave her a gentle smile, wanting her to know that, if she had, she wasn't in trouble, but if she hadn't-
"No, Mitsuhide arrived while I was looking for a suitable kimono, and said that you had requested to wear this specific one." She smiled at you through the mirror, oh so happy and blissfully unaware of what had transpired between you and the kitsune, "I assumed you thought of something you really wanted to wear and had changed your mind."
Fuck you, Mitsuhide.
"Oh yes," you laughed humorlessly, "How could I have forgotten," the smile didn't fade from your expression, though it didn't quite reach your eyes.
"Is something wrong, Princess?" Kinu, having been a servant for many years, recognized even the most subtle change in mood.
"No," you reassured her by turning to place a hand on her shoulder, "It's beautiful."
She placed a hand atop yours and returned your smile, "No, Milady, you're beautiful."
After a moment your turned back to look in the mirror and sighed. Kinu made a last minute check of your attire before she was sure you looked perfect. She smoothed out any wrinkles or creases that had gone unnoticed, and straightened out your obi. The outfit wasn't ceremony fancy, or 'trophy princess' flashy, but it was very obvious a lot of time and effort had gone into it and you appreciated every detail.
Once Kinu was sure everything was in its place, she escorted you to the mess hall where you undoubtedly turned heads. You caught the attention of the warlords who had been conversing with each other, and a few of the vassals gawked at you. You were not quite sure where your place was in all this, till Nobunaga waved you over to an empty seat between he and Masamune.
"I'll leave you to it, Milady," Kinu smiled before she turned to leave, but you stopped her by grabbing her arm, "You aren't going to eat with us?"
She shook her head, "The servants normally eat separately from the vassals and in private."
Your brows furrowed and you glanced at Nobunaga before looking back towards her. You had words, but she placed her hand on the one you had used to grab her and held it, "It's okay, Milday. It's this way so there are people to serve and bring the food out to the others," she giggled, "And there are no servants for servants, so we all just eat in the kitchen or in our rooms."
You grit your teeth for a split second, she had a point, "If you say so," before nodding to Kinu and turning to make your way to Nobunaga. You walked to the right of the mess hall and around all the tables. There were six of them in total, five were arranged columnar so one end was towards the mess hall entrance and the other towards the back of the room, with equal spacing between them; the sixth one was set up horizontally centered towards the back, each end pointing towards the left and right sides of the room respectfully.
The table at the back is where all the warlords were seated, with the exception of Mitsunari who sat between Hideyoshi (to his left) and Ieyasu (to his right at the farthest end). As you approached the table, you caught eyes with Mitsuhide who sat at the end on the side you approached from, and glared at him. He sent you an amused smile in return that made you bite back the urge to swipe at him the way you did three months ago.
"Why Princess," the kitsune's grin widened slightly.
Don't react.
"You look absolutely ravishing in that kimono."
You sent him a quiet hiss when you walked past, before taking your seat between the Demon Commander himself and the One Eyed Dragon, "Mitsuhide is right, lass. That kimono suits you very well."
You shot Masamune a sweet smile and shrugged your shoulders slightly, "Thank you, Masamune. I had no idea it was in my closet." You didn't even bother acknowledging Mitsuhide as you had made the silent decision to ignore him for the night.
"Yes," Nobunaga cut in to your conversation, getting your attention when he moved a stray curl behind your ear, "Your outfit choice for the night is very fitting." He brushed his fingers along the decorative faux flowers in your hair, an action that was oddly soothing, "Delicate like a flower," he moved one of the tassels from your obi's ties out of your lap, better exposing the dragon embroidery underneath it, "But fierce like a dragon."
His words, his actions, his smug ass smile was all very breathtaking and sent a nice tingle up your spine. "Thank you," you unintentionally purred, "Though to be honest, I really can't take any credit. The maids picked out everything, and did all the work." You picked up your tea mug, "All I did was stand there and look pretty."
"You're having tea?" Masamune shot you a look before picking up a spare saucer of saké, "Tonight is a night for celebration."
"I don't think my doctor would condone that," you looked to the blue-clad warlord and chuckled.
"He wouldn't," Ieyasu spoke up from the other end of the table and shot the two of you a glare.
"Sorry," you laughed bringing the tea to your lips, "Warden says no," before taking a sip and placing the mug down. Masamune clicked his tongue and shook his head, placing the saucer down before picking up his own cup of tea. You raised a brow at him, and he shrugged, "Solidarity."
"Masamune can't drink," Hideyoshi clarified. Ah, he can't handle liquor. The revelation made you giggle, and Masamune sent a glare towards Hideyoshi.
"You should try some of the Sashimi and Dumplings, Milady!" Mitsunari leaned over the table to look past Hideyoshi and Nobunaga, and towsrds you.
"No she shouldn't," Ieyasu interjected, "She is still recovering. No raw foods," he said with finality.
"Damn Salmonella," you grumbled. To be honest it was fine by you, you were hungry but due to Ieyasu's warning you didn't want to eat anything heavy, and meat in general was as heavy as food could get. "What?" Masamune looked at you with a confused face, and you sighed - remembering that a lot of food born illnesses didn't have names yet.
Oh that probably means that any time someone got sick from food poisoning, they blamed it on someone trying to kill them.
"Nothing," you couldn't hold back the chuckle that bubbled from your own personal thoughts.
Nobunaga reached for something that was infront of him, but closer to the other edge of the table and silently winced in pain. The quiet sound caught your attention and you watched him for a moment, not sure if you heard him right. He tried again, only for the same sound to escape him. Were you missing something? When did he get injured? You took the tray of sushi he had been reaching for and placed it next to his, earning a quiet thanks from him.
You briefly glanced around the room, to make sure your eyes weren't deceiving you, and surprisingly the subtle spectacle had not gotten the attention of any vassals around the room. Nobunaga seemed to be favoring his right arm and you narrowed your eyes at him.
"Are you okay?" You tried to keep the conversation quiet, but it was difficult with so many different conversations going on around the room.
"What?" He turned to look at you to better understand your question.
"I said, are you okay?" You spoke up a bit, hoping no one outside the warlords table had heard you.
"It's nothing," he stated simply, before brushing off your concerns for the rest of the feast. You watched him like a hawk while the others enjoyed eating and drinking, though you suspected the other warlords were doing it in moderation and you wondered why for a moment. The vassals however didn't hold back, they got loud halfway through the celebration, but their drunken banter put a smile on your face.
The group seemed really tightknit, more like a very large band of brothers than a garrison of soldiers under the command of different leaders. The night wound down when there was almost no food left on the tables for the vassals, and they left in groups of three or more to either head off to bed or find somewhere else to indulge themselves. Within an hour of the food depleting to nothing, the hall was empty save for Ieyasu, Mitsunari, Hideyoshi, Nobunaga, yourself, Masamune, and Mitsuhide.
Should you leave? You wanted to, but you felt awkward being the only one at the table to leave, before Mitsunari spoke up, "We should head to the council room before it gets too terribly late."
That caught your attention, and you perked up a bit, "You all are going to have a council meeting right now?"
"Not just us, you too."
Shut up Mitsuhide.
"But why?" You huffed, "I'm no one important."
"Nonsense," Mitsunari looked over towards you with a gentle smile, "You're the Oda Princess."
"Not a real one though," Ieyasu snarked.
"One of the topics we are going to cover tonight involves you," Nobunaga finally answered your question. Your brows furrowed, "Me?" You repeated, "How?"
Nobunaga chuckled before moving to stand, "Come to find out."
Ugh.
The other warlords followed his lead, and with a begrudging sigh, you trailed after them. You contemplated ditching them and just returning to your room for the night - being around so many lively people drained your energy. However, before you could linger too much on the idea, you entered a hall that looked familiar. Dang, here already.
When you entered, the warlords took their places at their assigned seats, while you followed Nobunaga up the dais, only to pick up your pillow and walk over to the spot next to Ieyasu, before plopping it and yourself down.
Nobunaga leaned back slightly and let out a sigh. You glanced around the room, before turning to look at the raven haired man, and leaned in his direction, "Are you really okay? You seemed stiff the entire feast."
"No," at least he was finally being honest, and you weren't going to have to jump through too many hoops to get an answer like you would most men. Your brows furrowed at this, "What's wrong?"
Before you could get an answer out of him, Hideyoshi cleared his throat and Nobunaga waved off your question. "I'll begin," Hideyoshi watched you till he was sure you wouldn't interrupt and then continued, "I have a report on the villains who attacked Lord Nobunaga at Honno-ji."
You perked up a bit, it had been a while since you heard of the incident. "Mitsunari," the brunette turned to his vassal, "The night of the attack, you sent several men to follow their tracks."
"Yes," he nodded in confirmation, "I had hoped to search for their whereabouts. However," Mitsunari paused for a moment to clear his throat, "Last night several bodies were delivered to the castle."
Your eyes widened, having a feeling you knew what he was going to say next.
"It was the men I had sent out."
You glanced around the room to gauge the others reactions. Most if not all of them remained calm and expressionless, though you couldn't say you were suprised. This type of thing was probably normal to them. People didn't exactly have a long life expectancy in this time period. You looked at Nobunaga through the corner of your eye as he held a disturbingly pleased smile in his face.
Asshole.
"They must have gotten close," he chuckled, "Apparently their leader doesn't want me learning his identity."
"We may be out of leads," Hideyoshi sounded resolute, and you could hear the anger growing in his voice, "but we won't give up the search. Those assassins won't be allowed to roam free."
"Hideyoshi, I want you and Mitsunari to come to my room afterwards to discuss this more." You looked at the Oda leader with a raised brow, though your eyes narrowed in suspicion - he was up to something.
"Yes, my lord," they both replied in sync.
"If I may, I have a report as well," Mitsuhide began to speak with a smile on his face, "The scouts we sent out to reconnotier the eastern front came back to us with rather curious rumors."
You raised a brow, partially because you had never heard that word used before in the place of recon or reconnaissance, and partly because you were actually interested in what the snake had to say. "It means to gather information, Princess," you shot a glare in Ieyasu's direction - half tempted to make his tea erupt again, but sadly he didn't have one.
"I know what it means," you snapped back at him, "You should be paying attention to the report and not whether or not I have a grasp on military jargon."
"They say the Dragon of Echigo is alive," Mitsuhide continued on as if he hadn't been interrupted, "And he is sheltering the Tiger of Kai back to life from his supposed death due to illness."
"Interesting," Nobunaga raised a hand to rub his chin in thought.
Dragon of Echigo? Your brows furrowed at the irony. How cute- a soft sigh interrupted your thoughts, and you looked at Ieyasu with an annoyed expression.
"The Dragon of Echigo is Kenshin Uesagi, Lord of Kasugayama Castle in Echigo. The Tiger of Kai is Shingen Takeda. They're brave generals who vied with Nobunaga for power. Both of them supposedly died some time back."
"Thanks, Wikipedia-" you snarked, but Ieyasu wouldn't stop till he had delivered an insult, "And incase you're wondering, your cluelessness was written all over your face. Try being quiet will you?"
"You should really get checked out, Ieyasu, it isn't healthy to be hearing voices that aren't there." And while your at it get your eyes checked too.
"Mitsuhide," your and Ieyasu's quiet squabble did nothing to interrupt Nobunaga and Mitsuhide's conversation, "Can you verify this?"
"Not yet. So far it's just been nothing but rumors. But I will bring you proof." You saw nothing wrong with this idea. If he went chasing rumors, he wouldn't be in Azuchi to pester you. Please go away, Mitsuhide.
"Hold on, Mitsuhide."
Ugh.
"Yes?" Mitsuhide turned his attention to Hideyoshi.
"Why are you leaving our lord's side to go chasing rumors?"
You had almost forgotten that Hideyoshi suspected Mitsuhide... Almost.
"It's simple. If they turn out to be true we need to know as soon as possible to plan our next move." Hideyoshi got quiet after Mitsuhide's reply, but that didn't mean that the brunette was backing down. Your gaze shifted between the two as the silently glared at eachother from across the room.
"Can you promise you're not planning anything?"
The whole argument made you want to groan outloud, but you refrained from doing so. You knew for a fact, the last thing Mitsuhide wanted to do was betray Lord Nobunaga - he just liked to play Devil's advocate.
"Anything?" A sly smile crept onto Mitsuhide's face, "Could you be more specific, Hideyoshi? I'm a little slow on the uptake, you see."
You wanted to slap that smile off his face and tell him to quit his shit, but you also wondered why he was trying so hard to look like he was up to something. You kept your gaze on the kitsune, examining him for answers.
"You know what I'm talking about. I need to know you are not planning to betray our Lord to his enemies."
"Would you trust me if I told you I wasn't?" Mitsuhide chuckled, "What's to prevent me from lying or changing my mind, Hideyoshi?"
"Mitsuhide," Hideyoshi spoke through gritted teeth, "why does a man of your talents insist on such-"
"Enough, both of you," at the proverbial snap of his fingers, Nobunaga's command caused the both of them to cease their arguing. Once the room was silent, Nobunaga spoke once again, "Mitsuhide, I give you permission to scout Echigo. Ascertain whether the tiger and dragon are alive or dead, and what's going on a Kasugayama Castle."
"I understand, my lord," Mitsuhide bowed slightly with a nod of his head. You glanced at Nobunaga for a split second before gazing over at Hideyoshi. He seemed like he had a lot more say on the matter, but kept his opinions to himself after that.
You remembered the first day you met everyone. Hideyoshi and Mitsuhide had an argument almost exactly like this that time as well. Hideyoshi wanted to hear Mitsuhide say that he wasn't plotting behind their backs, but like today, Mitsuhide was insistent on antagonizing him. You once again wondered why Mitsuhide didn't just tell the truth, he was loyal to Nobunaga. Fiercely so- so loyal infact he had come after you knowing full well you had inhuman capabilities. There had to be some sort of angle to this.
"My plan was to begin an invasion of the western territories," with that out of the way, Nobunaga continued the council with a smile, "but I may have found bigger prey. Any activity from Echigo can't be overlooked. Make swift preparations for war. Masamune, Ieyasu. Gather the troops."
Both the one eyed warrior and the blond looked to their leader and nodded, "Yes, my lord."
"The rumors better be true," Masamune held a playful smile on his face, "I've been waiting for some action."
"Princess," Nobunaga's voice brought your attention to him, "It's your turn."
"Hm?" You raised a questioning brow to him, and wontered if you should make a smart ass comment but before you could, he answered your silent question. "I have orders for you."
"No," your turned up your nose at him, an action that only made his smirk widen, "I haven't given them yet."
"Don't care," you turned your head away from him, emphasizing the fact that you weren't having any of it.
"I enjoy your spirit but listen to what I have to say first." You still didn't turn to look at him, and after a moment he continued, "I hadn't mentioned this before, but I suffered an injury in the previous battle."
That got your attention. You turned to look at him and narrowed your eyes skeptically.
"When you put down that revolt?" Ieyasu's voice cut through your silence, and brought your gaze to him before you looked back at Nobunaga. Why was he barely making all this known now? It's been three months, you felt like this is something that should have been delt with long before?
Unless-
"Yes. A glancing blow from one of the arrows, but it has yet to heal."
You couldn't even say if it was true or not, you had been absent for a majority of the battle due to having to deal with a small skirmish of your own. "However," the raven haired warlord continued, "I must be in perfect condition for the next battle. And so I will be going on retreat to the springs."
Your glare only hardened as you watched him, silently searching for more answers, because you knew there was something he wasn't telling you.
"My dearest Lucky Charm will be coming with me."
"What?" Just like that you snapped out of your thoughts, "Why?"
"Isn't that nice," Mitsuhide chuckled from the other side of the room, "Congratulations on being chosen for such an important mission."
"I'm counting on you to not fall for our Lord too quickly, lass," Masamune jested at you in a friendly manner, a smug smirk etched on to his features.
"No one has answered my question yet???" You looked at the others confused.
"Princess," Hideyoshi tried to reassure you, you think, "remember to serve Lord Nobunaga as I would," or give you tips, you guess.
"But why???" You raised a brow at the brunettes comment. Bad choice of words, Hideyoshi, but then again he doesn't know the two of you nearly screwed.
"You sustained serious injuries as well, did you not?" Nobunaga was talking to you as if the answer should be obvious.
"Well yes but-" he didn't let you finish, "Then the hot springs will benefit you as well." He nodded, as if the action could physically bring a close to the conversation.
"Is it just going to be you and me?" You sighed, knowing there was nothing you could do to change his mind, so you may as well get as many details as you can.
"Yes, if word of this injury got out, there could be another revolt. For secrecy, I will take no guards and go with you alone."
Oh even you knew that was bull. Nobunaga was many things, but stupid was not one of them. He had to know going alone would be dangerous. Sure, he had you, but none were aware of what you were - save for Mitsuhide.
Unless of course-
"We leave in the morning. See that you're prepared, Princess."
He's trying to make himself look like an easy target. But what would he have to gain from this?
You gaped at him slightly when it occured to you.
He suspects a mole amongst his ranks and he's trying to draw them out by making himself look like an easy target.
Nobunaga was giving you a teasing smile.
If nothing happens, then he knows his inner circle is safe and the traitor is lower in the chain of command.
You looked around the room, examining the men you had though you'd come to know. They had all seemed fairly loyal in your eyes. It was obvious from the way Ieyasu used to birate you about your interactions with Nobunaga that he respects him very much. Hideyoshi practically worshiped the ground Nobunaga walked on. Mitsunari's loyalty to the Lord in question was second only to Hideyoshi, so it was a given that by association it wasn't him either. Masamune was always so eager to fight for Nobunaga and for some reason their relationship struck you as brotherly, and Mitsuhide had proven to you earlier that day how loyal he truly was to his lord.
Who could he possibly think it is?
"Close your mouth or you'll catch flies," Ieyasu snipped. You snapped you mouth shut and shot him a glare.
"You should probably start packing," Hideyoshi called your attention away from the blond and your face scrunched up slightly in distaste, "I guess, since you're leaving me with no other choice."
Nobunaga nodded at your words, as you stood up to head to your room. Like hell you were packing, more like staying up and thinking of a way to get the heck out of here.
"Kinu will be bringing you your last dose of medicine for the day," Ieyasu called after you., and you loudly groaned before closing the doors to the council room behind you.
When you arrived to your quarters, Kinu was already there with your medicine and a glass of water, as well as a few extra maids to assist you in removing your complicated garb. You allowed them to change you into your night attire first since the smell of the medicine assured you that this glass was even more concentrated before the last. Obviously the idea of shaking liquid medicine before giving it so it was equally distributed in each glass was still a foreign concept, and you could only assume the medicine was getting more potent because whatever was still in it that was solid had settled to the bottom and you may be nearly finished with the first batch.
You almost wanted to spit out the last sip. It had an unpleasant gritty texture to it and it felt like it left a thin film over the roof of your mouth and your tongue. Kinu quickly handed you your glass of water, and you eagerly chugged it before handing it back to her and politely asking for more.
You straightened out your night robe and turned to Kinu after she poured more water in your mug. The other maids bowed you, taking your used clothing before leaving the room and closing the door behind them. "How was the feast, Milady?" She smiled and handed you the ceramic cup.
"Good," was all you could really say. Of course you had tasted better food, but what could you expect from a world that had yet to obtain the variety of spices and cooking techniques of modern day life. "It wasn't what I was expecting," you chuckled, before taking a sip of your water "Lots of drinking and marry banter from the vassals. Don't know why I expected it to be stiff and stuffy."
Kinu covered her giggle with her hands, "Of course not, Princess. Banquets like this are often to help the lord's and their vassals unwind, it also helps boost morale if it's in celebration of something, such as your getting better."
"Yes well," you moved to sift though your closet, not entirely sure if you should really pack, "It was great up until the end."
Kinu tilted her head in a confused manor, and you glanced back at her when she remained silent, before turning back to your closet and explaining what you meant, "Lord Nobunaga wants me to go to the hot springs with him tomorrow-"
You were cut of my the maids failed attempt at muffling her excited squeals. And you turned to look at her, a smile creeping on to your face at her infectious joy, "Oh, Princess! That's wonderful!"
Your brows furrowed and you snickered, "How?"
"Well, Milady," she hastily walked over to you with an extra hop in her step, and made an effort to speak a bit more quietly, though it failed miserably, "I'm sure you're aware of the Lords fondness of you."
Fondness?
You scoffed and turned to look at Kinu, "He's only doing it because-" you paused, your smile dropping from your face as did not want to tell her your suspicions on why he is really doing all this, and you also didn't want to tell her he was 'injured' in fear of spoiling his little experiment. She looked at you expectantly, "Because...?"
You cleared your throat, "He thinks the hot spring will do me some good, and he thinks I would enjoy getting out of the castle for once."
Your little white lie only made her squeal again and you rolled your eyes, smile once again returning to your face as you pulled out a simple kimono off the rack. The material felt light and the had a little more give than most, it would be perfect for traveling, maybe. Your weren't sure. It was hard to say since you didn't know how exactly you would be traveling. You assumed by horse, and you've never ridden on a horse in a kimono for extended periods of time.
"That would be good for the trip there, Princess," oh yay, you made a good guess, "Would it be alright if I pack your things for you?" She stuttered slightly, afraid you would take her request the wrong way, "N-not that I don't think you know how to dress, it's just-"
"Kinu." She snapped her mouth shut, "I would appreciate it."
Just like that her excitement returned, "Oh! Thank you, Milady!" She hopped to your closet, taking your place when you moved out of the way. With a relaxed smile you made your way to your futon, slowly laying down onto the mat while Kinu flitted through your closet for everything she thought would be nice for you to take. She would pull out a kimono, talk out the pros and cons outloud before putting it back and picking out another. You talked with her while you could, asking questions and agreeing with some of her opinions, till all you could respond to her with was, "Mhmm..."
As your responses became quieter and quieter, she turned around to look at you and smiled at the image of you curled up beneath your blanket - the only thing visible was your head from your cheek bones up. She continued sorting through your closet till she was finished and then took her leave.

Unstoppable force/Unmovable object
What's up losers I haven't finished and posted anything in literally a year!!! Anyway here's some Krieg/Maya because there's not enough of that and I had a fit and wrote this in like a hour while very tired
Read it on archive instead if you want
Also friendly reminder I take commissions if anyone is interested in that ya know hmu or whatever
~~~
Maya had guessed something like this was going to happen. She didn't know much about Krieg's past–she didn't think he did either, honestly–but given what she did know about him she knew this was going to be rough.
Lilith made it mandatory to get the new vaccine that Doctor Tannis had made. Refusal meant a one trip phase lock off Sanctuary. Which made sense, it was pretty bad when the sickness was going around. Something about Skag meat that resulted in people throwing up blood and a small portion of Sanctuary's population going down. Luckily none of the Vault Hunters caught it and all managed to get their shots and moved on with their lives.
Except for Krieg.
Maya knew this would happen.
He was hiding up on the roof of the fast travel building. Pacing and yelling at himself, visibly upset about this whole concept.
"SHUT UP, BLOOD DOES NOT BELONG ANYWHERE BUT IN THE MOTHERS BELLY!!"
Yea, she knew a lot of things about Krieg but still had no idea what 90% of the Psycho gibberish he said meant.
Maya stood jumped up on the sides of the wall and started scaling the building. Which wasn't hard but still annoying to do but she knew Krieg probably wouldn't wanna come down from his hiding spot. He immediately quick his frantic pacing when he saw Maya land on the roof next to him. Still breathing heavy and twitching, though.
"Hey, big guy. You doing okay up here?" She cautioned Krieg was someone that needed a gentle and quiet kind of attention.
"WE DO NOT BLEED AND YET NEED BLOOD?!??"
Maya sighed and stepped closer to him.
"I know you don't wanna do this, I really do. But you need to get the shot now so you won't bleed later. You understand that, right?"
He seemed to genuinely stop and think about it before spasming again and hitting himself on the head.
"SH u T,  u P"
Maya flinched for half a second at the outburst before gently places a hand on his mutated arm, pulling it away from his head where she could see a bruise begin to swell. His eyes still looked around frantic and unfocused but his muscles relaxed at her touch as he let himself be moved. Maya gently held his arm as she lifted her other one up."I know that this kind of thing scares you, and I know why it does. And I honestly don't blame you for being afraid, but you see this?" She quickly made a fist, causing a small blackhole to appear above them both. "This means that if Tannis makes one wrong move and hurts you, she won't have a head." Krieg twitched, his breathing calming down as he listened to her and stared at the void gently pulling at his flesh, begging to be soaked in fire and acid. Maya relaxed her hand and the power faded away. She slowly lifted a hand up to Krieg's face and pulled him down enough so her head was against his mask. "You have nothing to worry about, okay? I'll protect you." "Okay..."
She grinned and kissed the side of his mask where his eye was visible.
"Come down when you're ready."
She's far to good to us.
Krieg sat unreasonably quiet on the couch waiting for his turn to get the vaccine. Maya was going first, to show him that it was safe. He gripped his knees and dug his nails into the fabric of his pants while the little man forced him not to scream and stab the doctor lady when the needle full of purple liquid went into Maya's arm. She didn't even react as the needle was shoved into her, not a flinch of pain from the siren. And as soon as Krieg's rage started the whole thing was over and doctor lady was placing a bandage over the small spec of blood that was left on Maya's arm.
Maya hopped off the table and walked over to Krieg. "See? Completely fine." She held the arm the shot was put into. Holding her hand out for him to grab. "Your turn now." Krieg hesitated before gripping onto her hand enough for her to go numb within seconds. Maya slowly guided him over to the table where Tannis already had a knew syringe ready. Krieg flinched and pulled back. "Nonononono, the cockatiels still need to be crushed under theconveyor belt of pain!" Maya quickly placed a hand onto his mask covered face. "Hey, hey, hey. It's okay. I'm here, see?" She flicked her hand up again, the promise of fire and acid and death hovering above her like a halo of space and suffocation. "I won't let go of your hand the whole time, okay?"
Listen to her and get this over with.
Krieg growled at himself but let Maya pull him back to the table. Her hand turning pale from his grip as he squeezed harder when Tannis came close. "He's not going to bite me, is he?" He couldn't tell if that was a joke or actual concern. Maya rolled her eyes and looked to Krieg, smiling and rubbing her thumb in small circles on his hand. Tannis poured a liquid out on a small white hand towel before padding it on his arm causing him to flinch and jerk back violently but not move past that. Tannis made an annoyed sound but continued. As She began pressing the needle against his skin, Krieg felt his breath stop and a loud snap echoed across the room. It pushed past his skin and he could feel liquid go into his body like pain and guilt and screaming and bones breaking and blood oozing and he couldn't breathe and he couldn't brea–
And it was over.
He blinked slowly, looking down as Tannis was already throwing away the needle and leaving to do her own thing.
"See, that didn't hurt at all did it?"
He jerked to look at Maya, smiling and calm. He looked down again and saw his hand entangled with her own. Blood was slowly covering their hands. He relaxed his grip and saw how Maya's hand was snapped nearly in half, bones protruding out in morbid and painful ways.
Maya didn't even react.
She pulled her hand away and lifted the other and made a fist again, this time no void came to punish him but to slowly heal the broken bones and flesh. It was beautiful in that Psycho kind of way as the bones slowly were reset into place and flesh healed over. A small barely noticeable scare appearing.
Once done the siren goddess looked back at him.
"Wanna go on a mission to find a gun that will supposedly curse and kill us?"
"TEAR THE FLESH!"
"And salt the wounds."
Far too good to us.
Powerpuff Girls 2016 - “Cat Burglar”
Tumblr media
Written by: Haley Mancini
Written & Storyboarded by: Benjamin P. Carow, Caitlin Vanarsdale
Directed by: Nick Jennings, Bob Boyle
Does it belong in the litterbox?
Tumblr media
Our episode begins with this cat-like villain wandering around Townsville, ending up at the Old Townsville History Museum, clearly with the intent to steal its most precious item: a pickle-shaped key. As soon as this thief makes a cat shaped hole in the glass protecting it, far too small for the key to fit through, an alarm sounds.
A second later. I would question, but they do explain it later. Unfortunately, the Cat Burglar decides not to heed Blossom's advice and leaves with the key as soon as Blossom and Bubbles open their eyes. Blossom theorizes the villain was just too fast.
Tumblr media
As soon as she says that, Buttercup, being mysteriously absent when the Cat Burglar was on screen, quickly enters the scene. She bashes into a wall, asks where the bad guy is at, and kicks a statue of Townsville's 1st Horse. At least that gets a label. It's almost like she got interrupted from something important, like stealing a giant pickle key, but that can't possibly be it.
Tumblr media
The next day, Bob LaGrange and Nick LaNobodyKnows report on the cat burglar, who has been stealing precious things all around Townsville. In unrelated news, even they say, they talk about how this rare Fabergé egg sandwich is being shown off at the Gemnasium, talking about how priceless it is. There's a joke there that may have been intended; it's clear that the newscasters are just begging for it to get stolen so they have something to report tomorrow.
That's just not enough for this scene, as Bob ends this newscast with a joke about how he hopes that burglar will skip breakfast. Nick then complains that Bob stole his joke, and tells Bob that he's going to get it. At most, this fills up a minute they probably couldn't fill otherwise.
Tumblr media
Blossom and Bubbles are angered by this news for different reasons, reminding us that they are separate characters with separate opinions. Blossom is angry that they got away, while Bubbles is angry that they are defiling the good name of kitties everywhere. The Powerpuff Girls know not to just assume it's a boy thief or a girl thief, and use the singular "they".
They do get distracted by that Fabergé egg sandwich, long enough to not pay Buttercup any mind when she suspiciously tells the girls she needs to go to the bathroom. A few seconds after Buttercup leaves, they get a call from the Mayor.
Tumblr media
Turns out, the burglar does know the importance of the first meal of the day, and has stolen the egg sandwich before the Puffs could even show up this time. The Mayor is sad about this egg sandwich, bu he doesn't even mention that pickle key. Why even make the first item stolen a pickle key if you're not going to do anything with its obvious association?
While the Cat Burglar did cut the lights, and the alarm if their lack of mention of it says anything, the Mayor only knows what he heard: "later, dude" in a gravelly and yet girlish voice. Not girly enough for him to not call the thief a "he"; I guess The Mayor is too old fashioned for the singular they. Bubbles reacts, because she's the only person in the entire world that calls people dudes.
Blossom and Bubbles get a notification that the Townsville Mint's alarm is going off. At least that explains how the Powerpuff Girls were able to know immediately when the pickle key was getting stolen, though it doesn't help that this notification uses the ringtone. I almost thought the Mayor was calling them somehow.
Tumblr media
At the Townsville Mint, they finally catch the Cat Burglar in the act, and the Cat Burglar immediately attacks. This is where we get our big fight scene between the two Puffs and this Cat Burglar. This person can beat up the Powerpuff Girls, even Bubbles' aura powers succumbs to the almighty might of a cat scratch.
As outright violence didn't help, Blossom decides to use her wit. She uses her eye lasers to laser a giant coin, letting it fall and hit the burglar right on the head.
Cat Burglar: You're going to need more than a few cents to stop me!
Blossom and Bubbles: Huh?
Were they going huh at how the burglar managed to survive, or did they not understand that sense and cents pun? Bubbles says that burglar sure sounded like Buttercup, but Blossom responded that it wouldn't make any...sense. See, there was a point to that joke.
Tumblr media
We fade cut to the Powerpuff home, where Buttercup mysteriously has an ice pack over her head. She claims that she was body slamming some tractors, because she's the tomboy and that means she has to do man man man things. Blossom and Bubbles look at each other, not believing Buttercup at all, knowing fully well who the culprit has to be.
Tumblr media
In a secret bedroom meeting away from Buttercup, they talk about how it is clearly Buttercup. Really, the only real things against Buttercup being the culprit is that we never see the Cat Burglar fly, and that the cat burglar has claws, implying fingers. The Powerpuff Girls don't walk and don't suddenly grow fingers...in this episode, anyway.
Bubbles ends up thinking it isn't Buttercup, but not for any sensible reason. Bubbles, telling Blossom not to laugh, says she thinks it was a piece of cheesecake. Blossom laughs at this, but I wouldn't have reacted with laughter. I would be worried about Bubbles' mental well-being. Bubbles was outright saying it sounded just like Buttercup a few scenes ago, a few scenes before that, and even a few scenes after this, so this gag doesn't even fit in. I guess they just needed a "oh, that silly blonde" joke.
Tumblr media
But enough about trying to put in logic in Bubbles-related gags, we got more gags to fill this episode with. They get a call from the Mayor, who hired this bounty hunter to do a lookout for the cat burglar. He then cartwheels out of a window, screaming in pain.
Yes, this could be considered another “time-wasting” gag, but at least it's quick, fitting of this episode, and actually sort of funny. I can see the humor in this guy incompetently trying to spot this thief, and getting hurt along the way. Sadly, this is the only time it appears, as they decided to focus on what they thought were much better jokes...
Tumblr media
...like this joke where Bob and Nick get angry at each other again for what feels like another minute! There's a minor payoff where Bob and Nick end up getting into a fist fight leading to. Oh yeah, and that Gemnasium is getting a pearl onion casserole. At least their food/jewel pun jokes are as good as they could be.
Tumblr media
That night, they go undercover to see what’s really going on at the Gemnasium. Blossom even came up with a secret identity: she's Palomar Rodriguez, a shipping manufacturer that wants to know the price of lumber. Bubbles only came up with "I have a mustache" in a funny accent. They could have just as easily just hid behind the bench, but this scene does do its job in filling even more time.
They also bring up that cheesecake again, as Bubbles points towards a piece of it that happened to be in the garbage. At least it is where it belongs.
Tumblr media
She's at a soup kitchen that happened to be behind the Gemnasium. Not only is Buttercup not the thief, but she's the exact opposite of a thief; she's a giving person, giving soup to the homeless. She even bumps her head on the pans.
Bubbles wonders why Buttercup and the Cat Burglar are never seen together, or who or what the Cat Burglar really could be. Such logic coming from the person who thought cheesecake was the true evil of this episode; it really shows how out of place that gag is.
Tumblr media
Even though they see the Cat Burglar go into this indeterminate factory and how they did it, they decide to burst through the walls anyway. I'm not complaining, at least it's more confirmation they can still do that without breaking their bones! Saying "not so fast", bursting through the walls, this is already more Powerpuff Girls than a lot of reboot episodes are.
They corner the Cat Burglar, who cannot be Buttercup, and the burglar decides to reveal themselves. Or, as it turns out...HIMself!
Tumblr media
Oh, I wish.
...well, no, I don't...
Tumblr media
...but it would have made more sense than Pug-Faced Pauly. I would not be surprised if they came up with a plot where Blossom and Bubbles suspect Buttercup is a criminal long before they decided who the real culprit should be.
He even spends the time explaining how Pug-Faced Paulie managed to steal Buttercup's only apparent defining trait: he hung out with a bunch of surfers! The one thing they didn't explain is how he can easily defeat the Powerpuff Girls without his Chompers, but I think three seasons of Anything Punch Girls Down already did.
Pug-Faced Pauly: ...and hang 10! Hang 10 for good!
Yeah, good luck trying to hang someone who can fly, Pauly. At least, I think that's what you are implying. The Powerpuff Girls surrounded by his gang, and we are left to wonder if the Powerpuff Girls would be beaten up by this gang of dogs. Before Pauly could give us the answer, he's interrupted by a brand new set of characters.
Tumblr media
That's because these cats show up. We get to meet Pauly's arch-nemesis-that-we-will-never-see-outside-of-this-episode, Bella Bengal Bobtail and her gang, Da Cats. They're angry because they heard about this plan to give cats a bad name, giving a little more weight to why it's Pauly instead of, say, The Caped Cheesecake Curmudgeon.
Tumblr media
I like how they have detailed drawings of each of the members, just like Pug-Faced Paulie did in his first appearance. There’s a lot of variety, with plenty of potential jokes they could do with them. They could have been in an interesting episode on their own, but we only have two minutes left.
Tumblr media
They get into a big slideshow psychedelic fight scene. The Powerpuff Girls decide not to get involved, and...that's it, really. While it is implied that the cats are winning, we never really see a conclusion to this fight. It just seems to go on off-screen while the Powerpuff Girls just sit and watch.
Tumblr media
Buttercup eventually shows up, also bursts through the wall. Blossom and Bubbles tries to get Buttercup to spill the beans, but she makes up yet another story. They end up deciding that it isn't that important to know why Buttercup thinks it's so horrible to let people know she helps the needy.
The Mayor suddenly shows up, also knowing exactly where the Powerpuff Girls were, to show off that he figured out who the real culprit is. I'll give you a hint: it's not apple pie!
Does the title fit?
Name of a character episode that happens to be a pun on an actual term, which is better than a normal name of a character episode.
How does it stack up?
I wouldn't call this a bad episode, but not an episode I would want to watch again. The jewel food puns are at least actual jokes, and they did put some effort to the cat counterpart to Pauly's gang. It's too bad there's really only 5 minutes of actual plot here, with everything else focusing on jokes that aren't really that funny. This cat burglar coughed up a hairball, but at least it's not puke.
Tumblr media
Next, one of the Gorillaz makes a guest appearance! I hope it's Noodle!
Colter - Enter, Pursued by a Memory (2)
Tumblr media
"Goddamn, this cold!" Arthur groaned as he entered the morning freeze, using the sole of his boot to light the match for his cigarette, taking a long and slow puff of the tobacco as if his life depended on it. He forced himself to walk through the snow, mentally preparing himself to feel the cold wind cling to his skin through his clothing.
He rushed into the main cabin, seeing Missus Adler struggling to stay warm while she kept her distance from everybody else while Abigail Roberts, Tilly Jackson, and Mary-Beth Gaskill were surrounding the hearth for warmth. "Hello, Arthur," Abigail started as Arthur chucked a fresh log into the small fire.
"Abigail." He replied gruffly, holding his palms to the fire.
"Arthur...how you doing?" She said nervously as she approached him. He looked at her nervously, taking her in. He had always scolded himself for not marrying her when he had the chance, but he knew that wasn't how things were supposed to be. He cared deeply for her and young Jack, but in a way, he still loved her from when she had been friendly with not only him, but almost every man in the gang at one point.
He gulped as he held those memories at bay, where they needed to be, "Just fine, Abigail, and you?"
"I need you to...I-I'm sorry, I'm sorry to ask but..." She stuttered.
"It's little John...He's got himself into a scrape again." Arthur replied with annoyance and a bit of jealousy coating his voice. He brushed her off as he continued to find warmth from the fire.
"He ain't been seen in two...two days!" Abigail protested.
"Your John'll be fine," Arthur said, opening his arms at her. He hated arguing with her, but she needed to hear it. "I mean, he may be as dumb as rocks and as dull as rusted iron but that ain't changin' because he got caught in some snowstorm!" He argued.
"At least go take a look," Hosea intervened as he closed the book he was reading to young Jack. "Javier?"
"Yes?" Javier Escuella replied, looking up from cleaning his gun.
"Javier, will you ride out with Arthur and take a look for John?" Hosea asked. "You're the two best-fit men we've got."
"Now?" Javier questioned, exhaling a puff of smoke from his cigarette.
"She's...we're all...we're pretty worried about him." Hosea continued, taking note at the look of jealousy on Arthur's face as well as a bit of concern eating at him.
Hosea had played a major role in Arthur's life in the earlier years, seeing Arthur as a son to him. He could tell when things were bothering him or when he was keeping something to himself. Hosea knew Arthur and Abigail had a brief romantic history and that Arthur at some point thought that young Jack was his son, but he couldn't stop Abigail from falling in love with John Marston, who was his fellow brother, but also his competition.
"I know if the situation were reversed, he'd look for me." Javier said as he handed Arthur his sewed-off shotgun. Arthur nodded as he took the gun before turning on his heels, pushing out Abigail's 'thank you's out of his head as he walked through the doorway.
"This way! Last I know, John was headed up the river!" Javier said over the wind as he took the lead.
"For all we know, he kept ridin' north and never looked back," Arthur grunted, bowing his head so that the brim of his hat would shield his face from the wind.
"He wouldn't leave. Not like that." Javier doubted.
"Well, wouldn't be the first time," Arthur replied, clutching the reins tighter, wishing he had on two pairs of gloves instead of one. He and Javier trekked north, both of them encouraging their horses to continue on their journey. Arthur may not have had a bond as strong with this horse like he did with Boadicea, his fallen horse after the failed ferry robbery in Blackwater, but the mahogany bay stallion was pushing through. "Good boy!" Arthur encouraged as he gave the stallion an encouraging pat to the neck. "So... You were there, Javier, what really happened on that boat?" He asked.
"We had the money, it seemed fine, then suddenly they were everywhere," Javier explained.
"Bounty hunters?" Arthur guessed.
"No, Pinkertons. It was crazy. Raining bullets," Javier continued as the horses were now on steeper terrain. "Watch out for this crevice!" He warned. "Dutch killed a girl in a... bad way, but it was a bad situation."
"That ain't like him, though." Arthur replied.
"They continue along the cliff wall here!" Javier said, referring to the horse tracks he and Arthur found shortly after they left camp. "Davey got shot. Mac and John... Both shot too. Sean, we don't even know. I'm surprised we escaped at all. By the time you boys showed up from the other side of town, we were only just holding on." Javier continued.
Arthur sighed, "Bad business alright."
They were now trotting through fresh snow, which was too much for Arthur's liking, so he decided to slow his horse down to a walk as he knew the fresh and deep snow had to be hard on his horse. "You're alright boy," He encouraged. "The horses are struggling."
"Yeah, a lot of fresh snow here."
"I don't know about this, Javier. W-we can't follow nothing." Arthur doubted.
"Let's push on a little bit, maybe we'll pick up the trail again," Javier encouraged as their horses continued to push on up the steep embankment.
"Almost there, boy, c'mon now!"
"Hey, look! Over there, you see that?" Javier pointed as the men stopped their horses before nudging them to a lope. Upon closer inspection, it was a deceased horse. "John was riding that horse when we left Blackwater." Javier sighed.
"Oh... That's..." Arthur grunted. He didn't mind killing an animal when it came to hunting but seeing a dead horse hurt him on the inside. Aside from a buck, horses were his favorite animal as they represented so much freedom, beauty, and spirit. Something Arthur wrote fondly about in his journal was Boadicea. He sighed as he looked away from the deceased animal before turning his attention back to Javier.
"Let's see if he can hear us!" Javier said before firing his revolver, the gunpowder echoing through the icy canyon and empty mountains.
"Hey! Help! Here!"
"Come on... Up there!" Javier suggested as he pushed Boaz into a steady lope up the embankment.
"Hello? Over here!"
"It's coming from up ahead somewhere. I don't think we can go much further on the horses. We'll have to walk from here." Javier said as he dismounted Boaz. "I'd grab that shotgun from your horse. Who knows what's up ahead."
───※ ·❆· ※───
"That's quite a scratch you got there." Arthur said as he and Javier were now looking at John Marston from over the cliff he had sought shelter.
John looked up at the pair with his new three lacerations, "Never thought I'd say this, but it's good to see you, Arthur Morgan."
Arthur sighed as he eased himself down to where John was, looking him over briefly, "You don't look so good." He said as he slung John's arm over his shoulders.
"I don't feel too good neither," John groaned as Arthur easily lifted the man up, helping him get atop the cliff so Javier could help. "I'm freezing!"
"Don't die just yet, cowboy." Arthur said as he hoisted himself back up before slinging John over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, slowly walking behind Javier as he figured out a way to get back to the horses without having to go through the rough terrain they had encountered on foot.
"You see that on the ridge?" Javier said as distant howls echoed from afar. Arthur felt John shift his weight as he was still slung over Arthur's shoulder, looking up at what damage the animals had caused.
"Shit," Arthur mumbled as he helped John to his feet. "I'll distract them while you get to the horses. Go, I'll draw 'em off you." He insisted.
"Let's get back to the others!" Javier exclaimed after Arthur had successfully terminated the three wolves after a brief scrapple. Arthur clutched his wrist to rid the pain as he had gotten bitten, but it luckily didn't pierce through his skin, only his coat.
"I don't feel too good," John complained.
"You'll be fine. It's just like a...a dog bite."
John sighed, "I knew a feller, got bit by a dog. Died an hour later."
"You ain't gonna die! Not yet-" Javier assured. "More of 'em to the right!" He shouted.
Arthur quickly pulled out the sewed-off shotgun Javier had given him, hoping that his new horse wouldn't spook too bad from the shots and the wolves coming at his fetlocks. "Easy boy!" Arthur said as he shot two wolves quickly, regaining control as his horse's natural instincts took over.
"You see any more, Arthur?" Javier called.
"Don't think so." He grunted.
"Jesus!" John whined.
"You still with us, Marston?" Arthur teased.
"Just about." He groaned.
"You're gonna be okay. We have some shelter now." Javier assured.
"Thanks for coming for me."
"Of course. That bullet in Blackwater, now this? You had a hell of a time."
"And Arthur always says... I'm lucky." John croaked.
"You know, we're gonna need to come up with a better story for that scar!" Arthur teased as the horses trudged through the current of the river in an attempt to cover up their scent.
"So, freezing, bleeding, starving, damn near getting eaten to death, ain't good enough for you?" John questioned.
"Yeah...c'mon. Let's push hard and get back."
"See those buildings up ahead John? That's where we're camped. Nearly there." Javier assured as the camp was inching closer.
"Come on! Someone help John down off this horse!" Javier exclaimed.
"Can we get some help here?" Arthur intervened as he pulled his horse to a halt, dismounting as he heard the main cabin's door squeak as Abigail came running out. "You're alive! Oh, you're alive!" Abigail cried as she gripped onto John's jacket.
"Ay, careful idiotas, it's his leg!" Javier warned as he was still atop Boaz.
"Come on, let's get you warm!" Abigail said as Bill was acting as a crutch for John, leading him to the cabin. "Thank you! Thank you both!"
Arthur and Javier nodded as they were soon joined by Hosea and Leopold Strauss. "Thank you, Arthur. Thank you." Hosea said, patting his shoulder.
"You got any other lost maidens need savin'?" Arthur groaned.
"Yeah, that Minnie Barlow," Hosea teased, referring to the brief conversation he and Dutch had about the woman after they brought Sadie Adler to camp, Dutch explaining to Hosea that Arthur had kept asking questions about the fellow outlaw relentlessly, making it clear to Dutch and Hosea that he may be under the impression of a crush, which Hosea loved to play "matchmaker."
"I don't know what you're talkin' about," Arthur scoffed. Hosea chuckled as Javier and Leopold Strauss retreated slightly, "Dutch told me about your crush."
"Whatchu talkin' about? I don't have no crush!" Arthur blushed.
"You're forgetting that we know you better than you do, Arthur. Since when have you been so curious about an outlaw when you're an outlaw yourself?" Hosea questioned. Arthur shook his head as he wanted to get the topic of love interests from his head. 'Yeah, like a woman like that would have me anyways.' He scolded to himself.
"Have you and Dutch talked about how we're gonna get out of this?" Arthur asked, changing the subject.
"I was just discussing with Herr Strauss when the weather breaks I suppose we'll have to keep heading east."
"East? Into all of that civilization?" Arthur objected.
"I know," Hosea replied. "The west is where our problems are worse. C'mon, Herr Strauss, let's get warm."
Arthur nodded as he thrust through the snow, rubbing his palms up and down his upper arms in an attempt to generate heat, but he felt as if he was getting nowhere. He quickly shut the door to the cabin, retreating to his room for a brief bit of isolation, something that he needed. He had a sudden urge to write as if nothing that was going on even mattered. He sat on the edge of his cot, pulling the nightstand closer to him to make a table:
Arc 01: REUNION
::CODY::
I place an arrow to my bowstring and send it flying. I got the animal right on its head. I beam in pride. With Meeko hunting everything in sight, I was happy to take one down on my own. Even if I was just on a blind waiting for game to pass by. I climbed down the tree I was perched on and picked up the dead, fallen raccoon. I went over to the red head sitting on a tree stump.
"Lori, Lori! I got a raccoon!"
Lori smiles at me in a way that seems like I got something better. He's always encouraging like that. "Good job, Code." he ruffles my hair. "and you got it at the head, that's a good shot." He takes it from me and put it and places it inside a burlap sack along with a few of Meeko's other kills.
Lori scrunches up his nose though when he did that. The smile earlier was just for me. He eats meat like the rest of us but he never really liked killing the creatures himself, and mentioned something about how he used to be something called a 'Vegan' or something. I didn't understand it before, but he told me it was something like empathy... I don't really know what that means either, Lori only told me it was like knowing how the animals feel. He said it was the same way we didn't like it when we were attack by Rabids and how these animals must have not wanted to be attacked by us. It was confusing because while we all know Rabids are bad, Lori tells me that it didn't mean we were bad for needing to eat them to survive and something about survival of the fittest, uh, that meant the instinct that drives us to eat any animals we could. It's confusing. But I get it a little bit and also try to kill them instantly so they wouldn't fill pain before they died. Lori understood that it couldn't be helped, we needed meat for food. While we never ran out of food because Kytes did have gardens, it wouldn't be filling. And I don't like veggies much either. So if I only had to eat that forever, I'd go rabid.
I watch Lori take his knife and pull out an apple. He starts to cut it in half so we can share. I stare at his face and start playing this mind game I think to myself, pretending Lorri was his brother and giving him stuff he might say instead. Right now, Lori might say Here, let's share it. While Meeko might say Hehe, wanna see who eats his share the fastest? And he'd give me the slightly bigger share. He would pretend its so he can win, but he would really want me to accept the bigger half without me feeling guilty. I pretend I don't know that because I really like apples. I stop feeling guilty when Corrin explain to me that it's a way of showing how you care.
Whenever I play this game, it makes me realize how identical Lori and Meeko actually are. It was hard to remember that, since whenever you hear them and see how they act, the differences were more obvious that people easily forget the similarities, like the same red hair and the same yellow eyes. Though their hair styles were giveaways too, since Meeko's was usually tousled and sticking out while Lori was much more clean looking, the ends near his neck curving slightly, though their attitudes were more of stand outs so them looking alike wasn't really obvious.
"Here, let's share it Code." Lori gives me my half. "this one's yours."
Nailed it, I smile proudly to myself. "Thanks, Lori!"
"Anytime," Lori chuckles, ruffling my hair.
I liked that feeling a lot, it really helps me relax. Still, no matter how relax we might feel at the moment, our instincts were always sharp, Lori's more so than mine since he's older. He was the one who carried me and got us out of the way just in time as Meeko bursts through some bushes, riding on top of a Rabid Sheep.
An actual sheep is actually not so scary, they're real fluffy and cute, sometimes a little stupid. I was watching over our flocks, the ones we take care of for clothes, with Jonah when a rabid wolf tried to eat one lamb. While Jonah fought back as I watched the flock, I can say I was more rattled than they were. They kept eating grass the entire time!
As for any animal's brain internally affected by radiation, they go Rabid. Unlike people, they don't die instantly though. Well, most don't anyway. Any Rabid creature is potentially bad, even a Rabid Squirrel or Mouse since they usually attack in numbers. On the safe side, we don't eat them. It's easy to tell the difference of a Normal and a Rabid. The Normal types are... Well, normal. While the Rabids are colossal, scary, sometimes deformed and really smart.
But leave it to Meeko to make it look fun to take them on.
"Woo-hoo! I got you now you giant cream puff!" Meeko laugh. "Loreal, Coco Bean, clear the way!"
Meeko duplicates himself. The clone went in front of the sheep. It's kinda funny that was his power when he already has an official look alike, except his actual clone acts way different than he does. The sheep got confused long enough for Meeko to jump down, landing on his feet safely. Then, he took out his double-edged saber, pulling it back like one would with a baseball bat and—
Well, Lori closes my eyes before I can see more. Meeko is pretty brutal when he hunts, and he's got a lot of bravery. I hope I can be as courageous someday like these two, and that's one of their common traits. I really look up to them a lot and I really like them, but I guess that doesn't really say a lot since I like everyone. Trey used to tell me that I would only hate an enemy. So far, I never had a chance to see if that were true.
"Okay, you can look now." Lori pulls his hand back.
I run towards Meeko, "That was awesome! Well... I didn't see all of it, but I bet it was awesome!"
"You know it, Coco Bean!" He ruffles my hair. Lori approaches us and I tell Meeko about my own raccoon. He congratulates me, saying if I keep that up, I could hunt just as hardcore as him.
"Woah, now let me stop you right there." The other Meeko interrupted—and I mean Lori, not a clone. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves or even hope that. I think one hardcore hunter is enough, and sometimes one too many... And I mean that almost literally." He smirks. He crossed his arms and look down at the dead sheep with a grimace. "now that you had your fun, please tell me you at least remembered to hunt actual game we can take home and eat. I'll admit, that sheep is larger than three of us put together even if it were a Normal."
I kick it a bit. "If there were Normals that size. I don't think we can even get a thing that big through the hotel doors."
I guess I should explain the hotel bit.
That's our home base right now. It's not a permanent settlement, though. We have a whole bunch of base because we can't stay in them for more than four months and a half. Actually, the a half part is the longest we can last in any base. Things change around an awful lot where we live. I don't know if it's the same with the rest of the world because we can't travel all over it, and Rhys only has guess that it might not be as bad as ours. And he knows most things. Rhys called our part of the surface, our division, Surface R. In other words, SURFACE RADIOACTIVE. He told me about the radiation triggered something in the atmosphere, something called Mana, in a time before I was even born. He said when something from outer space came crashing down and changed everything, it landed in our division, back then called a country, so the Mutated Mana altered people like us; have spread most around here to the point that it gave us unique abilities. I don't know why it's called unique when everyone up here pretty much has it, but Rhys said it wasn't normal to have these abilities in the time before I was born.
I don't get much with the rest of his explanation, but I do understand that the past must be really different from now. I also know that we are in a location where things always change. It can be perfectly safe one minute then suddenly everything's chaotic a second later. Also, the other things that got loose Mana energy doesn't like us much. So when one area gets too dangerous, we move to another. They never stay dangerous forever, so we can come back later. That's what scouts are for, they visit the bases ahead of time and check which is the safest to move into. Right now, the hotel is perfectly safe. But since things always change... Well, you'll never know when danger will strike. I don't remember if there was a time that we were without risk of being in danger. Because even at night, while we're sleeping, if the sentries sound the alarm, we have to prepare for action. That's why we've gotten used to trusting and relying on each other.
It keeps us all alive.
Meeko waves off Lori's words. "Yeah, did that first." he gives me another burlap sack, and I tip over because of the weight. "Easy kills."
"What do you have in here?" Lori picks up my arrows and places them back inside the quiver before helping me with the sack.
Meeko shrugs. "The usual. Three foxes, five rabbits, some squirrels. A turkey and half a boar for bacon." We stare at him for a full second. "I had to give up the other half so it could fit the bag since this big guy suddenly attacked."
"Wow," Lori whistles, impressed but not all that surprise. This was his brother after all. "that's a new record. Good hunting."
Meeko scowls. "Good? That's excellent hunting!"
"Except you only got a half animal for bacon. Plus, your ego needs deflating." Lori laughs. "Well, it's a Rabid, but since it's a sheep, we can't let the wool go to waste. It's sturdier than a Normal's wool, after all." He takes his knife and approaches the lifeless sheep, getting to work.
We help him out so we can finish faster and head back. Halfway through, though, I hear leaves rustling, feeling a chill down my spine, and then the thumping vibration from the ground.
Lori must've felt it too. "Cody, Meeko, take a flank!"
I take up Lori's left side, notching an arrow and Meeko takes his right, raising his sword. Then other three rabid sheep come bursting into the glade. I send the arrow flying but it didn't get the eye. Not that it'd be an instant kill, but I could've at least partially blind it. Rabids aren't easily taken down like regulars. What Meeko did earlier might've been an extreme. They weren't as big and colossal as the one he took down but still, about seven feet tall and who-knows-wide doesn't fall under small either.
"Uh oh. I think the one I killed was a mommy..."
I look at him. "Oh. But Meeko, I don't think she could tell her kids not to eat us. She'd probably help them."
Meeko gives me a weird look. "Er, that really wasn't my point..." he says.
A sheep charges towards us. We spread out. But I stumble on my feet.
"Cody! Look out!"
I look up, barely able to shoot my arrow right on the sheep's eye. Thankfully, my arrow had already been placed and it was close enough for me to get a good, clear shot. But I'm unable to get a next arrow ready when the sheep jumps over head.
"Cody!" Meeko swoops by and carries me out of the way.
I hug him around the neck. "Thank you, Meeko! That was scary!"
"Meeko," Lori comes over. "three on three isn't a fair fight if it's against Rabids. That's your cue!"
Meeko looks a little embarrassed. "Ehe, about that..." he holds up his watch. "I might've overdone it a bit earlier during the hunt and my POWER GAUGE is on full bars..." suddenly, his watch sparks and the green-lit screen turned black. "...aaand now the battery's dead..."
"Are you serious now?!" Lori looks amazed... but not the good kind.
"Don't be mad!"
"Well, I can't be happy!"
I didn't have time to pay attention to this argument because I realize I was missing something. The lace that kept my pacifier around my neck was gone! I know I'm ten years old and a little sucker is not something I need, but it was the last and only thing I ever got from my parents. I was a baby when I was still with them. I don't know who they were and what parents even were until Corrin explained it to me. I may not have known them, but I do know that if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be alive and that they must've loved me because that's what they do. So even if a baby item is all I have left as proof that they existed, then I can't lose it!
I scan the area and found it a few meters far and raced to retrieve it.
"You know, you can be so... Wait, what is... CODY?! No, wait!"
"Huh?!"
I pick it up. "Got it!" In the next instant, I'm shoved away and I see Lori being body slammed by one of the sheep. I gasp. "NOO!"
"LORI! No, no, no!" Meeko screams after me, rushing over. But then he is held back to fight off the other two. "GET LOST, DAMN IT!"
I look at the sheep on top of Lori and wait. He doesn't use his powers. He doesn't go through it even as the sheep is tired and doesn't move. It only means he's hurt.
"Lori!"
Then it happened. I felt goosebumps and the sheep floated to the air. But it's hard to keep it there. Meeko got to escape the other two sheep, carrying Lori who looked injured with some scratch marks. But he was still conscious. They were out of the way and I mentally dropped the sheep. My knees buckles up and I collapse. The two sheep went for me. I didn't have the strength to move.
"CODY!"
Then there's fire and I felt the heat. When my vision clears, the animals were burnt and I see our leader stepping into the glade.
"TREY!" I bound up towards him, limping a bit. I wrap my arms around his lower torso. "Lori's hurt!"
Trey pat my head. "I know, I see his wounds. But let's not panic, kiddo." We walk towards the twins. Trey helps Meeko support Lori. Then, he instructs me. "Take the sacks you can carry and get them back to the base. Alert Rhys, Code 4 for A1."
"What's Code 4 and A1 again?" I've just taken up lessons and still get terms mixed up.
"Rabid Animals. A1 is Area 1."
"Got it!"
I take a burlap sack, Meeko's, and run as fast as I can despite the extra weight. The last words I hear behind me are from Lori. I didn't know what it mean so it probably didn't matter.
"Don't tell him anything."
| | hello! My name is Y/N , I'm not exactly your average girl, I'm not an instagram model with a thigh gap or a flat tummy, but I'm me! I'm a huge book nerd, I love LOTR, HP, etc. Etc! I don't really listen to anything other than classic rock and occasionally a little bit of Taylor Swift.. also, if you get close to me, you better have licorice.. | |
"Whew.. all done!" You sighed,
You had just filled in a long tinder bio, you read it over and decided it was okay
*click*
*Tinder bio updated!*
You got up from your desk and headed down to the kitchen
Boxes were spread around the kitchen, as you had only moved in just two days prior. You were scavenging the food boxes when you found a box that wasn't supposed to be there.
It was the box with your mother's stuff in it.
Three months before your move, your mother had passed away peacefully in her sleep, she was suffering from bone cancer for nearly two years. She fought hard but couldn't fight any longer. She was always a brave woman, the strongest you ever knew. So when she passed away, you were torn but you knew it was going to be okay.
You picked up the first thing you saw in the box- a picture, it was of her, holding you when you were a baby, you felt tears on the verge of falling, so when you blinked, you accidentally got tears on the picture, you made sure to quickly wipe them away. You turned the picture over, and saw your mother's beautiful handwriting
"October 4th, 1992, going home!"
This was taken just a couple days after you were born, you smiled, looking down at the picture one last time before placing it back in the box and closing it up to put into the attic.
As you were crossing your room, box in hand, you heard a faint *ting!* coming from your computer.
You put the box outside your bedroom door and headed into your room, sat at the computer: and saw a tinder notification.
*you got a match!*
Only a couple seconds later you saw you got a "super-like" and a direct message by "impala67"
Impala67: well, tinder basically just hooks you up with people with similar interests, and then they go out on a date, and see if it works out or not. A lot of people use this site for one-night-stands but that's not really what I'm here for.
Gandalf11: oh! So.. should.. we.. go on a date..??
~Deans P.O.V~
"Dean! Hurry up we don't have all night!" Sam yelled
"Yeah, yeah!" I yelled back
I got up and put my phone in my pocket, left the room and put on a flannel and a coat, and saw sam already waiting at the door
"Dude.. where's my keys?"
I patted myself down and looked behind me, then I heard tinkling, I looked back at Sam, who, not that surprisingly, was holding my keys teasingly. I walked over to the door, snatched my keys and walked out, and heard him laughing behind me.
I walked up to my baby and opened the door, sam doing the same, and we got in, I started the car, and heard the familiar purr of baby
"Listen to her purr, sammy! Ain't she beautiful?" I exclaimed happily
Sam looked over at me, happy but also a little puzzled
"Dude what's gotten into you? Only two hours ago you were all grumpy then you went on your phone and now suddenly you're so happy" sam chuckled
"What? Can't a guy be happy for once sam? GOD" I said sarcastically.
I looked over at sam, smiling, and watched him laugh while looking out the window. I always loved moments like these, seeing my little brother in a good mood always cheers me up. I started driving onto the main road out of town, there was a pack of vamps camping out in minesota killing sheep and people every week, so we figured we'd go scope the place out.
"Uuuuggghh" you sigh
You sit up straight, your hair is messy, not the cute messy either, and there's mascara smeared all over your face
You open your eyes to see your mirror in front of you, and scare yourself
"JESUS FUCK AND DAMNATION" you've been scared awake, and then realize you got scared over your own reflection, and then you realize and chuckle to yourself, "why am I laughing to myself? That's so sad, so stereotypical it could be in a cheesy fanfiction." You say to yourself
'That too..' you think
'All of that cou-' you stop yourself, you're thinking too deep into this..
You get up from your bed and head down to the kitchen to make yourself some breakfast
"And todays special breakfast is Ramen with a hardboiled egg.." you whisper to yourself
That's when you hear something crash upstairs, your head jets up to look up the stairs behind you
"What the fuck?" You say shakily
You grab a kitchen knife, the water is still boiling behind you, but thats the least of your worries right now.. you tiptoe to the stairs and look up.. there's nothing there..
You walk up the stairs, knife still in hand
You walk to your room
"Sounds like it came from.. in here.."
You open the door, only to see the cutest black kitten, with the brightest blue eyes you've ever seen. It's adorable, but then you notice it isn't moving.. or breathing. It's a stuffed kitten. Somebody, had somehow gotten their hands on a dead kitten, and had stuffed it, then put it on the dead Centre of your room
"Tick tock" somebody says behind you
You turn around quickly, its a woman with long black hair, a black leather jacket, black jeans and black boots on, she's slim but fit, and has an oval shaped face, and she has blue eyes, and pale skin.
You scream, as she attacks you, right after you scream, you hear the front door get busted open, and she whips her head around while pinning you down, and growls "bloody fucking hunters.."
She looks back at you while you're struggling, and then she gets up quickly and as she's about to leave, two big burly men run in, and within seconds she's pinned to the wall with a machete on her neck.
"WHERE'S THE REST OF THE PACK!?" One man yells
The taller man runs over to you and helps you up
"Are you okay? Did she hurt you? Or bite you?" He says, panicked
"N-no why the hell would some stranger bite me?" You ask
"Nevermind that, we have to get you out of here quickly.
He rushes you out to their car and puts a blanket around you.
"My brother is going to deal with her, for now you need to tell me everything that happened." The tall man says
You don't know what it is about him, but you trust him. Maybe it's because he just saved your life.
You're about to tell him all of what happened when suddenly you're interrupted
You look over to your front door, and see a way too familiar face in your now broken doorway
"Dean?"
