a rough concept for how Dongos (engl. dondon?) work in my rewrite, i want them to actually … be something beside a gem vending maschine :(

they are ridable and tameable

slow movement

can climb almost any wall and dig through rocks and ore deposits quickly

they hang on walls here and there in the underground

big mole like front paws for digging and climbing, hooves at the back legs with one big claw so they can hang securely on a wall

two saddles can be attached (for link and zelda)

they have little appendages on their chin for sensing food

Gigama (frox) prey on them, hence their shell and pattern like the ground for hiding (if they get hit by a gigama they will burrow away and you have to call them again)

big orange-white eyes like cave or deep sea creatures so they can take in as much of the little light avaible in the dark

they are now found in small herds but were nearly driven to extinction twice as both the sonau and later the ancient shiekah mined for luminous stones which is their primary food source (hence the glowing of the horns, teeth and claws)

(idea? the yiga have little mini stables in the underground bc they also use the Dongos to get around, once you have at least the mask OR have koga as sage unlocked you can register Dongos at their places and call them while in the depths anywhere as long as they are not in the stable)

i dont think they should be able to get to the surface, or if they do they can only be used at night bc the light of the sun would damage their eyes and/or hurt them otherwise, given that they evolved in nigh total darkness

A young dragon that voyages into lost and forbidden parts of the astral plane, or the space between stars, returns transformed into a horrifying star-famished beast. Leaning into cosmic horror, this dragon's theme is the unceasing hunger of a black hole, and the otherworldly awe of pulsing nebulae and dying stars. This is an aggressive beast that locks down its prey with gravitational power and light channeled from beings that live in pulsing, dying stars.

Sometimes, you just need to make a horrid beast. I know this is now incredibly late for Smaugust 2023, but when I saw a vacant-eyed, hollow dinosaur toy screaming at the sky I knew it was right for the prompt "Eldritch". But, I wanted to sidestep the expected 'tentacles like Cthulhu' approach, and so instead I used limbs from a toy lobster and other insects to give it some bony mandibles. The tongue was made by using a leftover tail from the dino that went into a previous build, with a UV resin coat, including a drip along a strand of transparent cotton to give it an icky strand of saliva.

The goal for this build was to gross myself out while making it, and to create a monster that implies something worse out there. And I admit that I love to hate looking at this one.

And with that, my Smaugust work is done for 2023. I'm planning on taking a short break from scratchbuilding to finish some sculptures and other WIPS.

MUTANT MAYHEM SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

it was the whole acceptance thing and them going to high school at the end. It was too fast and too unrealistic (and i know saying that something is 'unrealistic' in a world with mutant turtles who know kung fu is pretty stupid haha) but it was! idk i just feel they didn't build up to that well enough and it just happened out of the blue.

i would be fine with it if only a few people helped them out and kept their secret from the rest of society, bc lets not kid ourselves, society is not that accepting - individuals yes, we can change, but not the whole city. Maybe if they hadn't included the scenes from the past, when they made contact with the top side and the humans feared and rejected them, then i would have believed that this story is set in a different world from ours, but now i just can't.

and personally, if i wanted to watch a show set in high school i could just watch any out of the 100 shows that already exist x) not interested in seeing turtles in school

also (this is already so long but i have to) i kind of have an issue with the fact that every mutant under Superfly switched to the good side at the end that fast. I understand they probably didn't have time to break it up a little, have some of them question things for a while longer, but that also just threw me off.

god i swear i did enjoy the movie haha but these are just my honesty opinions

1 .what is your favorite color to work with?

hmmmmmm. i honestly can't be sure. i have thought long and hard and i keep going "oh i like pink! but pink with darker pink and red and purple and yellow" until whatever color i start with i just end up going around the color wheel hdvfbgndjcbd. so all of them i guess? but i do particularly like adding shading/lighting to skin tones, it's a fun challenge for me! that's my favorite part of coloring if i ever get that far w a drawing.

9. what drawing program do you use? (if the artist does digital art)

i use this app called autodesk on ipad. it's free and it's actually pretty good but i have my issues with it [dramatically stares into the distance]. no but fr it's good. sharp glaze + glaze brush my beloved <3 i also use csp sometimes :)

imagine being someone at new rome university and not knowing percy is the same guy as “percy jackson, son of poseidon, two-time hero of olympus, former praetor” because the thought doesn’t even cross your mind. like… he’s percy. he’s a total frat boy. on a normal night, he walks into a party, refers to everyone as bro or dude, socializes with every living (and not-living) person in the room, makes at least 50 sarcastic comments, plays 12 rounds of beer pong, drinks way too much, and then skates around campus on his skateboard yelling “I LOVE NEW YORK” (which makes no sense, because they’re in california) until someone calls his girlfriend to come get him.

and then one day there’s an attack, and frat boy percy is all of a sudden a fighting machine. he’s yelling battle cries alongside the praetors frank zhang and hazel levesque as they lead everyone into battle. (why is he with the praetors? and why…. why in the world do the praetors seem to be following his lead?) his sword slashes through armies of monsters faster than you’ve ever seen. he’s controlling the entire river surrounding the camp, creating huge waves as tall as skyscrapers that crash down all around him, wiping out monsters and causing mass destruction to his enemies’ ranks. the sky is suddenly dark above you, ice-cold water droplets are slashing through the air, and the wind is blowing so aggressively that it’s making it hard to stand up steadily. because he’s somehow created a hurricane.

and he looks terrifying. you can feel the power radiating off of him. he’s like a god. or maybe a monster. it’s hard to tell. you’re a little scared of him, to be honest. but also in total awe, because it’s extraordinary. he’s extraordinary.
