A/N: Wow, I had this idea for the longest time, and somebody actually read my mind! I def wanna make this into a bigger thing, but for right now I’m just easing myself back into writing since I had a real bad writer’s block. Maybe with some time, I’ll be able to develop this into something more!

First and foremost I think that Miles would want to think you’re cool as hell, but given what he knows about Felicia Hardy and subsequently Peter and her’s relationship, homeboy is trying NOT to have history repeat itself with you. Because no matter how cool your outfit is or the fact that you pack a mean punch, you’re bad news and he needs to keep you at arms length. But when he gets to know you, that obviously becomes harder and harder the more the two of you cross paths.

I like to think that you guys meet in school first. You’re a new student this semester, placed right in Miles’ homeroom. You weren’t hard to notice with your striking white hair, always had earbuds in your ears, and could be caught humming tunes throughout the day. You become friends due to your shared love for music and art, and when you start using the same excuses he’d use for his friends and family about why you couldn’t hang out as often anymore, he’s too blindsided by your friendship (and the teeny tiny crush he’s developed) to question it

Though when the two of you meet mask to mask, however, it’s a different story. You play this elusive and secretive role so good as much as he considers you a rival, Miles also finds himself admiring the way that you’re so graceful with your getaways, and the fact that you are always teasing him doesn’t help either.

You laid it on thick, but after a while of swinging around the city trying to catch you, he’d gotten used to your flirting and the jabs you’d take at him, even throwing back a few of his own. He’s a smooth kid, learned the game from his uncle of course, and just as hot as you’d get him under the mask, you found yourself trying to keep down the heat rising to your ears whenever he came back with something clever and sweet. It was a sweet cat and mouse game the two of you played - even though technically one of you wasn’t a mouse.

The jig is up, however, when a bigger threat the city is posed and you’re caught in the middle of it and are badly injured when trying to fight it off. Miles is quick to rescue you, but the pride he feels from saving the elusive Black Cat is short-lived when he realizes that the face of the vigilante behind the half torn mask is none other than someone he considers one of his best friends.

It gets awkward after that, and you’re quick to catch on as to why, because you, having deduced who the black and red-clad secondary Spiderman of New York truly was, knew how this would go if a conversation wasn’t had. And you tell him straight up that this life isn’t a game to you; you’ve been brought up in it and know the dangers and the risks, so he can’t talk you out of it. And if it was a deal breaker to your friendship, then, even though it would hurt like hell, you would have no problem in cutting Miles off.

And just like that, what Miles feared had come true - it was the same story with Peter and Felicia all over again - and yet, he still made an effort to try and see things from your perspective, to make it to where history didn’t HAVE to repeat itself, knowing that any feelings he’d have for you were no good in his line of work.

You know it too, though. Whatever budding feelings that were happening between the two of you couldn’t come to fruition, because Miles was a superhero for the people, and you were just a street cat looking out for yourself. There was a stark difference in the way each of you looked over your shoulders for constant threats to your existences, yours debatably being worse than Miles’ and you couldn’t drag him down with you.

But there still was this string that kept the two of you together. Perhaps it was the fact that you still had classes together in school. Perhaps it was the fact that you lived right next to each other and it was impossible to avoid one another throughout the day. Or perhaps it was the fact that, despite being two completely different people in two completely different lives, with and without the mask, you both still wanted to make it work; whatever would be between the two of you.

Even though you butt heads like water to a flame, Miles protected you with all his might, and you helped him in the hardest of cases with any intel you could gather. No, you couldn’t be together, but you’d still look out for each other; there was no avoiding that. You were his Black Cat, after all. And he was your Little Spider

All the discussion around AI lately got me thinking about an incident recently in which a guy got his ass sorely beat by the vocal synth community

For those of you not familiar, “vocal synths” in the electronic music sense typically refers to programs like Vocaloid, SynthV, UTAU, Alter/Ego, DeepVocal, etc., digital instruments that allow composers to create, as the name implies, synthesized vocal tracks. The way they work is that they draw from libraries (referred to as “voicebanks” or VB for short) of special studio recorded* vocal samples from singers singing different syllables at a consistent pitch. The program then splices these together and adjusts the pitch to match whatever notes you put in- You want to do All Star, it’s gonna string together “[suh][m] [buh][di] [wuh][n][s] [tO][ld] [mi]” or something like that. Basically it’s an extremely complicated sampler.

(*unless you’re using UTAU or another build-your-own-vocal program in which the “studio” is only metaphorical, and is sometimes somebody’s basement with a Rockband mic plugged into a laptop.)

Now, there is no threat of vocal synths putting actual singers out of a job. Even the best vocal synths always have a bit of a robotic sound to them, and the voicebanks take hundreds of hours of recording time from you know, actual singers. Any piece made with vocal synths has to be worked by a human hand in a process called “tuning” in order to sound any good, whether you’re trying to make it sound human or leaning into the robotic sound. This isn’t something that’s being done on a corporate scale to cut costs- This is something pretty much exclusively being done by small scale indie music hobbyists because we fucking love Hatsune Miku and her weird buddies. Most folks are less interested in doing something that sounds 1:1 like a human voice and more in going beyond what humans can do to make shit like this

One of the leading vocal synths right now is Synthesizer V (SynthV), created by a company called Dreamtonics. SynthV offers fancier versions of some of its voicebanks, which are called “AI” voicebanks. These use machine learning trained on, again, professionally recorded and legally licensed vocal samples to help make songs sound a little bit more smooth, a little bit more in line with whatever singing style you’re aiming for. Everything else previously mentioned still applies: They’re still painstakingly recorded and programmed, you still need to tweak it yourself to get it to sound just right, and it’s still never going to sound 100% like a human. And that’s fine!

For this next bit y’all are gonna have to trust me because the tweets all got deleted, though if anyone wants I’m happy to pull up screencaps of talking shit about it with other vocal synth folks when it happened lmfao

So basically. Since ChatGPT type grifters have convinced people that “AI” means “magic plagiarism button”, back in April some dipshit NFT guy on Twitter started complaining on an official SynthV update post that SynthV (which he apparently believed to be called “Dreamtonics”, the name of the company that makes it) should allow people to make voicebanks from “their own voice”, insisting that it would be easy and PROFITABLE!™ to do so. He also clearly did not actually mean “their own voice” but rather “the voices of celebrity singers shamelessly lifted without their consent”, which was made extra obvious from a tweet on his own page that was like “Teehee people in monitored Twitter spaces don’t realize their voices are being recorded and fed into AI!” which he then deleted after I linked it on the thread about SynthV. lol.

Dude proceeded to get whupped by actual vocal synth people basically saying shit along the lines of “Yeah we can all tell you just want to commit cheap plagiarism, jackass” and “Dude why are you here when you clearly don’t understand the very very basics of what this software even is” and “Go make an UTAU voicebank if it’s so easy then”. (UTAU being a Japanese freeware program that hasn’t been updated since 2013. Creating an UTAU voicebank is complicated and takes a lot of time and technical knowledge.) He still refused to learn the basics of how vocal synths work, and proceeded to ask if “UTAU or Diff is most compatible with Dreamtonics”, a question absolutely no one could make any sense of? Lol.

Anyway, I don’t have anywhere in particular I’m going with this, I just think AI grifters are morons, and it’s obnoxious how the vague and misleading term “AI” has gotten nigh-mythologized by shady tech companies to the point that people can’t tell the difference between perfectly reasonable assistive technology and magic plagiarism.

Btw, fun fact for anyone who’s wondering, there do in fact exist legally/morally questionable UTAU voicebanks spliced from outside vocals. These are called “jinriki” voicebanks and not only do they take the same amount (if not more) of hard work as any other voicebank, they’re far from the insta-Beyoncé this dude was aiming for, and instead they sound um. like this

Criticism of Penacony and why i think HYV shouldve quit while they were ahead.

//vent towards the end, references to suicide while those references are quest spoilers Recently I've been doing world quests and grinding out the new region and been repeatedly finding myself walking straight into microagressions and slights to the point where it's been jarring enough for me to put my game down. As a black dude playing HYV games i know well enough not to act like the stupid billion dollar game company cares about appealing to minorities but its 2024 man.

First off, the obvious issue. Penacony has been repeatedly mentioned by the devs themselves to be based off of the Jazz Age from the U.S. a few decades ago.

The Jazz age was a period of time in American History between the 1920's and 1930s where the popularity of Jazz just boomed from being like an indie type of music to one of worldwide popularity. Obviously, Black people in that era are wholly responsible for Jazz itself.

So yeah, Penacony takes its origins from a key black history movement. Penacony, the region that released at the start of February. Black History Month. Star Rail is arguably one of the most popular games right now in terms of outreach because it's free, its new, and its colorful/futurisric etc.... And yet....

Just like with the rest of the HYV games that take real world inspirations, they fucked over black people and their stories.

In Honkai Impact 3rd, basically we had this one black girl who's like sandpaper brown and complains about how much her DARK SKIN ruins her look and how she bleaches her skin using various products to keep it lighter. She is ashamed of her DARK SKINNED mother who's a military woman. Her father is absent. Her mother is also a grown adult who is a B-rank soldier(main character white teenagers are S-rank for reference). Carole Peppers is her name if you want to go further down that rabbit hole.

In Genshin Impact, besides the fact that people with different skin tones are CLEARLY sectioned into certain regions(no seriously there's no real reason why i shouldnt see a black person in any of the existing regions.), and besides the unnecessary amount of whitewashing and besides the perpetuation of the idea of melanin NOT being natural, every single brown/black character in the game has awful playstyles and/or poor matching with weapons/artifacts, inaccessibilty, and they NEVER make it to the top of any meta tierlists. I'm not outright saying they're bad they're just harder and almost never get specialized weapons.

The only previously relevant example in Star Rail was Arlan, a lightning/destruction character. He chews through his own HP and unlike characters like blade/clara, does not have resistance or healing to handle that. Serval, the other lightning 4 star, out-dps's him veryyyyyyy easily. So yeah, the ashy black person character basically dies if you use him for too long and is never relevant TO ANY quests except where he needs to be the sidekick.

sometimes these games have dragons, animals that can understand and process english, or magic.... but then not black people...

Penacony has no black main characters. No black stories of relevance. Yesterday found an NPC whose name was detracted from chocolate and the player had the option to let commit suicide.

yeah ill get to that 💀. This large mass of at least 4 supernatural looking characters and yet no black person. NOT EVEN ANY OF THE CHARACTERS FROM penacony itself are black.

so yesterday I was grinding clockwork quests and had to help out some apathetic shopkeeper named Cocona. Her story was almost a bit sad but midway into going through her background i realized her name is one letter off of cocoa. now imagine being on a creative team coming up with a name for a melanated NPC and somebody decides on fucking CHOCOLATE with an extra letter. before anybody implies that one was something i shoehorned, think about how itd go if i had a bunch of POC characters and one white girl named crackerella.

Cocona and her once again sad backstory reach a hard tipping point as the player follows her to the edge of a building and can either grab her to stop her from jumping or simply let her end her life jumping off the building.

Yes we've seen how this game lets you make choices and watch the consequences of your actions, but there have been established rule-breaking predecents. Take Ruan Mei's quest where you have no choice but to eat the cake she offers you and once again lose the ability to make a choice on saying anything related to her. or any time the trailblazer gets pushed into a fight and cannot de-escalate. ....with this in mind consider why was saving the cocoa girl from killing herself NOT a forced option.

normally id be the kind of silly person looking for lore bits and stuff and making theories, (like how clockie is from the path of elation :v)but as a black dude this whole region is disgusting. THEY ARE GENTRIFIYING JAZZ AND COVERING UP ITS BLACK ORIGINS idk who said HYV cared about their audiences they fucking dont.

I want to talk about my experiences with being a disabled trans person, because me being disabled HEAVILY affects my transness.

I am not talking about xenogenders, though that is related as I use xenogenders because I am autistic, I experience gender differently because I am autistic, etc.

What I really want to talk about in this post is my experience with transition as a disabled trans man. At the time of writing this post, I have been on estrogen blockers for four or five years (I think four. Also in a YouTube video I said three or four but I'm just now realizing that's untrue.), and I have been on testosterone for eight months. My blocker is in the form of an implant that I had surgically inserted into my upper left arm. My testosterone is in the form of gel that I take once per day.

Well, usually take once per day. I struggle with taking my testosterone consistently. I take it properly most of the time, but sometimes I forget because of my memory issues, or I just can't because of executive dysfunction. This really frustrates me, but I'm doing the best I can.

Something else I struggle with doing properly is binding. Not all transmascs bind, but I personally do, and I tend to bind for much too long, much too frequently. This is because I go to a special education school that is two hours away from my house, I have to get dressed at 5:00 AM, and I don't get home until around 4:30 PM, but then I am burnt out from school so I need to take a break and calm down with things like music, or playing Animal Crossing. So that brings me to around 5:00 PM.

That is not okay. That is far too long to be binding every day. Please, do not do that. I beg, like please please do not do that.

I also am an AAC user, because I am nonspeaking, or semispeaking (I use the terms interchangeably for myself because I am not somebody who just looses speech for a few months and then goes back to oral speech. I use AAC quite a lot. Everyday. I can use oral speech in some scenarios, but I rely heavily on AAC, and I use it every day no matter what.) Because I use AAC, I have the ability to choose the voice! Which, is good because it prevents dysphoria (mostly, kinda), but it isn't great because there are no voice options that sound like how I hope to sound.

Okay, now for this last bit I want to give a trigger warning. This last section will talk about transphobia, ableism, and infantilization. You've been warned. If this type of stuff upsets you please stop reading.

When I came out as trans, my old old school did not believe I was genuinely trans. Why? Not because they are generally transphobic, no. But because I am autistic, so surely I must not properly understand what being trans is

Can we please treat autistic (and just generally disabled) queer people with respect.. please?? It has been a very very long time since then and I am still very much trans. I was not confused, nor am I now.

That's the thing about writing. The more you do it the more you realize what you're bad at but that's not always a bad thing. You can't improve on what you don't know needs improving.

Don't pressure yourself to make Yuu grunge or hard-core for wider appeal. I think all twst writers put a little bit of themselves into their povs, so if you know punk the story will probably be a lot easier to write since that's you! (If you wanted them to be different than Deuce and Ace I'd vote trad goth. That style goes so fucking hard and so does their music bauhaus my beloved. Also i guess kind of fits with Ramshackle?) Is this meant to be a sort of classic horror vibes? Because I dig it. I think Stranger Things did us all a disservice by sucking ass and making people think 80s horror should die because it became too mainstream :/

I'm going to put my unhinged rambling about lolita under the cut but oh my God you don't have to do that I'm so grateful you thought to though I've got such a big smile on my face rn cccc;

OK so to make a very long thing short, yes lolita did exist in the 1980s but it didn't really look like anything it does today. It was pretty much all handmade, and though the first brands were around we have no idea what their peices looked like since the fashion wasn't really widely worn or photographed until the 1990s. It didn't even have its name until the 90s. Lolita as it exists today is very much a 90s/early 2000s fashion which is honestly wild to me. As for ouji, it pretty much grew alongside Lolita so that would also be a no go.

Given Riddle's backstory I can't really see him as an 80s lolita. He doesn't seem like the sewing type to me... but there is this one brand that helped influence Lolita fashion called PINK HOUSE that was stupid popular in Japan in the 80s. I'll link you to this blogspot article which is both about the brand and the misconception in English speaking spaces about the term "natural kei" but I think it suits Riddle if you wanted to give him a lolita like vibe. The tl;dr of the article is that it PINK HOUSE and it's original designer Kaneko was a staple in 80s fashion in Japan, and is referred to as just PINK HOUSE or Kaneko fashion. As it lacks the community or aesthetic of kei fashions or lolita it is not considered a part of those groups... which does sort of fit Riddle in a way as his mother isolates him from both 💀

he always sleeps covered. He obviously isn't scared of anything, but there's something about having a blanket over his body that helps him doze off.

he's also a light sleeper except when he's drunk.

coffee doesn't alter his sleep either way. He has tried to see just how much caffeine he can tolerate and there must be something different with his metabolism, maybe due to his powers.

hates beige walls.

he's insanely picky about colors in general, but he actually avoids only wearing neutral-colored clothes even though he finds them convenient.

it's easy to know something's wrong because he sleeps with his socks on in case he has to leave somewhere in the middle of the night which is insane because he hates sleeping with socks on.

he's one of those people who complain about the forecast being wrong even though his day is never ruined by the weather.

he loves rain, especially spring rain, and the smell of wet dirt.

he has broken the same elbow twice and is extremely embarrassed about it, please don't bring it up.

doesn't know how to cook.

Five's good with children in the sense that they always like him so they follow his instructions.

he needs alone time every day and will take offense if somebody he appreciates or loves can't respect it, he feels like he can't be himself.

he's really into art and he tried to be pretentious at first like an edgy teen but he learned pretty quickly to see the beauty in every type of art and genre.

horror fan for sure. He loves slashers and likes to point out the things that don't make sense in the killing scenes for fun.

he's touch-starved and for the longest time assumed he hated physical touch because it made his skin crawl.

swears he doesn't have the patience for pets, but he's actually pretty good with animals.

going back to movies, he actually enjoys rom-coms but he's soooooo picky about them. He's a sucker for happy endings, but he draws the line at immature decisions in the third act.

he likes comedies in general and appreciates the genre like any other.

cinephile Five is precious, okay? He spent so much fucking time without any kind of emotional connection that he latches into art and movies are perfect for that.

he's a coffee snob, though. All the pretentiousness he left behind in regards to art has been channeled to coffee.

has like five or six different coffee machines. A espresso machine, a drip coffee machine, a french press, a v60, a moka pot, and a cold brew coffee maker he got as a gift on Christmas but barely uses because he doesn't have the patience to wait 12 hours for some coffee.

he's so fucking clingy when he's tired and/or drunk…

learning languages is pretty easy to him. He becomes fluent quickly.

he's not picky when it comes to music. He's more curious than anything about how genres came to be and he enjoys music in different languages, even ones he doesn't speak.

he enjoys driving around, listening to music. He sometimes stops to people-watch but tries to minimize it because it's creepy.

he feels lonely sometimes, even though he knows he isn't alone, he has his siblings. But he's different from them, they have things in common between them, memories they share that he just doesn't and it takes a toll on him.

it's not the kind of loneliness that consumes someone, it comes in bouts, and it usually leaves by morning, but he struggles a lot when it lingers.

so he's generally needy, in any kind of relationship; he needs reassurance, but he doesn't ask for it. People have to realize what's going on because he's too afraid of being a burden.

he eats frosted animal crackers when he's sad.

he watches documentaries in the middle of the night when he can't sleep and googles stuff when it sounds made up (it is most of the time).

he's trying to get into musicals as we speak!!!

omg girl, that's what i used to all day, everyday, on my old blog until like the beginning of this past summer! i love talking about the writing, characters, etc <3 and it always tickles me to know that people care enough to ask. i do feel like i know enough about my universe at this time to answer most things too, whereas a lot used to be shrouded in mystery back on the other side of things.

but, anyway, fuck the boys fr. this is true, i only care about the girls. as for inez and val's relationship, it's not too different. i would say they actually retain some of the most similarities. the plot rises and falls the same way for them in book 1 as it did with the og. but their dynamic is a bit different. firstly, not that it impacted too much, but i did drop valerie's old crush on inez, solely because i didn't really want to have two pairs of best friends with romantic (requited or not) history. it would feel repetitive and not as special, and dean and lex's past relationship definitely impacted an overall plot to a greater degree. so that "having a crush on inez" void in val's past was just filled by an ex-gf who's mentioned from time to time and may or may not make an appearance later on.

other than that, let's see...

well, firstly, inez does gain what i believe was my biggest grievance with maintaining the character of jill: a backbone. she retain's jill's know-it-all sense, but it's infused with a certain confidence (stubbornness) that jill lacked. she doesn't keel over when told, and while still a kind-fronting person, she does have that mean streak that is backed up by her ability to hold her own. it just makes her more of a difficult presence when valerie and lex get going, because she not only objects, but really means it (there is also a bit better of context surrounding her feelings on lex) and pretty much does everything in her power—too much—to try and interfere with their relationship in the name of "knowing what's best for valerie." and we all know how valerie feels about people who think and act like they can make decisions for herself better than she can.

valerie, on the other hand, has softened a considerable amount. i really liked where she ended up toward the end of the original work, where she was very sensitive and introspective, so i sort've worked my way back and implemented this from the beginning. i thought it was much more realistic a characterization for somebody with her type of trauma, and it's also in line with her [currently undiagnosed] OCD, which in general has her pretty tense and vigilant at almost all times. her obsessions and compulsions mostly start out revolving around the fear of contamination, and that combined with her deadly catholic guilt just keeps her very particular and maybe not the easiest to get along with unless you're willing to put the effort it. not many people are. inez is one of those people, however, so she's quite protective over her and is very in tune to all of her various needs, maybe to the point where she's not ready to accommodate the idea that somebody else is also down to be the same. valerie also suffers from chronic loneliness due to her night shift and initial isolation from the music sphere, which inez does not (she's friends with everyone in the band and even other bands sans lex at the story's start), so that also contributes to their eventual explosion. valerie is lonely and finds lex/wants connections beyond the one she has with her best friend, and inez is super protective over her and doesn't realize that she has what valerie wants (romantic/sexual/platonic connections galore). i think it makes sense that valerie ditches the moment she senses that rapunzel/mother gothel thing she felt with her mother with inez.

THAT being said, they're still besties despite their clashing work schedules, and they do recover by the end of the story. details to be seen in the story itself... <3 i mostly think these character differences make so much sense and still thankfully create a similar dynamic. valerie spent her whole childhood being repressed so that she's sort of internalized that docility and struggles to like, break from it? which is what makes lex so exciting, and then inez—who, while free of a traumatizing childhood, did grow up with four other siblings and was frequently talked over/reduced to the "baby sister" so that she wants to make sure her voice is always heard and essentially does just that. whether or not she's right isn't always what's important (sometimes she is), it's just that she can be a bit stifling with valerie's freedom in book 1, which is a lesson she has to learn. (where valerie then has to learn that sometimes people looking out for you has a purpose and they're not just doing it to do it.)

see, the best thing about rewriting is having the whole story in ur head already so that you're not just sorta winging it as you go and hoping the pieces connect. now, i can actually defend the plot and the characterizations, and they feel so much more cohesive! i love them, and i love their new versions more than i do their ogs <3 they feel even realer.

Falling in love like in a Jane Austen's novel - part 1

Pairing: Benny Miller x f!reader

Summary: Benny is sick of partying and interactions that come and go. You want old-fashion love. What happens when two strangers see each other and realize what they always wanted.

Notes: Hi! It's me again. I've been meaning to post for a long time, but I was lacking inspiration. This is part 1 of a two pieces fic, maybe more. I hope you all enjoy it. English isn't my first language, so I apologize for any possible mistake. Feel free to correct me. Thank you!!!

The neon lights illuminated the faces of the people in the crowded bar. The music playing was upbeat, people were either dancing or drowning shots like there was no tomorrow.

This was not the type of bar the Delta Squad usually chose for their hangouts, due to Will and Frankie's quiet nature and everybody's preference for casual attire over dressing up. Now with Benny and Santi… that was a different story. Those two also liked to go out, get wasted, and to put it in a light tone, flirt.

Why was the whole squad in such a populated bar with two members feeling slightly uncomfortable? Honestly, nobody did fully know why. Benjamin guessed that some sort of planet disarrangement happened for his brother and his best friend agreed to tag along.

The group decided to sit down first and get acquainted with the place. Soon they discovered that making small talk would be impossible over the bar's vivacious noise.

Santiago's eyes observed the space around him, too eager to find somebody to spend the night with. That's when he noticed a bachelor's party on the opposite side of the room. Nudging Benny's arm he pointed to the group of girls. "What do you think?" After a moment of consideration, Benjamin was about to speak when Frankie anticipated him. "Why not? I've been on a dry spell for too long. What do you say, Ironman?" Will ran a hand through his beard and signed. "Fine. But only if I get to be your wingman! I'm not really in the mood for anything more tonight."

Right after approaching the party, each one went their own way. Benjamin was getting shots with a group of women and the soon-to-be bride, Santiago was already on the dance floor, praying his knees wouldn't start aching and blowing out the chance of taking the beautiful human being he was dancing with, home. Frankie was sitting by the counter talking to a girl and playing all his cards, while Will quietly sat next to him just giving him moral support and hyping Fish up when needed.

After telling the girls he would be back with more drinks, Benny made his way to his brother. "Are you having fun?" Inquired Will after Benny told the bartender his order. "Yeah, kind of." The look Benjamin had, told a different story. "Come on man, I know your tells. What's up?" Truth be told not even Benny knew. "I just feel like something is missing. These kinds of events aren't as fun as they used to be, I just do it because it's the only thing I know." He started to trail off in his thoughts. "Maybe it's a sign to settle down. Have you ever thought about-" Before Will could finish, the bartender delivered the other man's order. Starting to make his way over to the girls, Benjamin told his brother "I think this is a conversation to have some other time. Do you wanna grab lunch tomorrow? I need brotherly advice." Will nodded with a reassuring smile and watched his little brother turn around, putting his entertainer persona back on. And that was the moment Benjamin laid eyes on the most beautiful creature he had ever seen.

She looked like an angel to him. Her smile shined, and her features looked like they had been sculpted by the most talented renaissance artist. All of her was beautiful. The way she moved, the way she acted! Benny was mesmerized. He watched as the girl embraced the soon-to-be bride in her arms and the way her smile got even bigger. With every passing second, she became more beautiful. She was more than that, she was gorgeous. Benjamin was sure he was looking at her with what you would call heart eyes. He saw how she got a little bit awkward when greeting some people and how she let all of her defenses down when meeting who he assumed were her friends. He found her adorable. The only thing that bothered him a little was that she hadn't noticed him. He wanted to look into her eyes, see if the inside beauty matched the exterior one. He believed it would.

Work had been hectic. Once again you had to stay later than usual to finish up some reports, that had, once again, been handed out later than they should have. The workspace you shared with a few coworkers was filled with grunts and complaints. "How can they fail to deliver these papers every week?" Said, somebody. "Especially on a Friday!" These were some of the comments running around. Next to you, you heard the rolling of wheels and saw a chair enter your eyesight. It was your best friend from work, or as she liked to call you, her work sister. "Hey Boo, wanna have dinner at my place? Tyler's cooking and the kids would love to see you." Even though it was a great offer and you wanted nothing more after a busy week, you already had plans. "Sorry babe, I would love to, but do you remember about me telling you of Rebeca's engagement? I have her bachelor's party tonight." Emily just smiled and grabbed your cheeks with her hands. "No problemo! You can come next week if you feel like it, no pressure. Now… have you picked out what to wear?", "Not really, can you help me with that?" your tone must have been pleading because Emily grabbed the paperwork from her desk and scooted over to you.

"I'm going to want to hear all about tonight!" Yelled Emily, waving at you from the other side of the parking lot. You held a thumb up and after blowing each other kisses, you got in your respective cars. Now that you had your outfit picked by the fashion expert that your best friend was, you just had to go home, get ready, and hope that the night wouldn't be half as bad as you expected.

The loud music filled your ears, you had never been to this establishment but from what you could see it was well decorated and the music was good. Really good. That alone turned your mood into a better and less apprehensive one. Checking your phone you read the message one of your friends sent you, informing you of where they were inside. Quickly spotting the loudest group present you made your way toward them with a bright smile on your face. A chorus of your name was heard and the bachelorette ran to hug you. You didn't know your smile could get bigger. "I was almost thinking you wouldn't come. I know this is not your thing. Thank you so much for coming!"

After reassuring your friend that you were comfortable and you would never miss such an important moment of her life, and saying awkward greetings to people you didn't know that well or had never met, you went to mingle with your friends.

You were sipping your drink, friends casually talking, in better words, trying to be heard over the music, next to you, when Mateo started to hit your arm without letting his eyes tear from what he was watching. "Look and tell me that isn't the finest man you have ever seen?" Your eyes averted the crowd but you couldn't quite decipher what man Mateo was referring to. "Who? Where?" With your contacts on for more than 8 hours and the bar lights messing with your perception of the surroundings, it took a while to find a tall man drinking with some girls from the party. "He's handsome isn't he?" Asked you, Mateo. "He's more than that. He's beautiful, almost sublime!" He looked like a greek god, and not one of those from Baroque paintings. No, he looked like an authentic greek impersonation of a god. He was making the group around him laugh which made a little smile form on your face. He ran a hand through his hair and grinned at something he heard. You were sure that if you saw one more of those you would combust. Then for a brief moment, he looked your way, you just weren't positively sure it was directed at you.

Your tone had been dreamy and no more than a low whisper, you're not sure how Mateo caught on to what had been said. "Don't you sound like a romantic? Go make your way over there and talk to him." Panic grew in you and you turned to face your friend. "How could I?! I wouldn't fit in the group. It would be a joke if I joined them. Who even says that he would notice me?" Mateo gave you a look and you decided to cut him off before he told you anything. "Before you ask, no I'm not being insecure. What I mean is that he and I seem to live different kinds of lives, but I'm not gonna make any assumptions about him. Me not going there has two reasons. One, it's not my element that kind of party, second, I'm in a phase of my life where I want to be dating to marry or share a life, not dating casually." Before Mateo could stop you, the typical rambling of a hopeless romantic had started. "I want to find a warm love, you know? I want to slowly fall in love with the person. But not too slowly, just take the time to feel every emotion and be sure of the relationship. I want my lover to be my best friend. I want to discover new things with them, and share and celebrate our achievements together. Build a home and get to know everything about them." You stated matter of factly, not really knowing why you were pouring your heart out. "The thing is that I want old-fashioned love. The longing stares, brief touches, standing in the rain while declaring our love… All that cliches we hear about. I don't want somebody to text me because they found me cute or whatever, and start a relationship from there. No shame on who does that and is happy, it's just not something that I want." By now Mateo was looking at you with intriguing eyes. "Don't you ever feel that some people act differently through messages? I feel that I can't communicate quite as well that way. That I'm not being myself. I want the live human interaction." Lowering your head you finally end your love philosophy. "With all this what I'm trying to say is that I want a Jane Austen novel type of love. Even if I have never read the books." You lazily waved your hand. "How can you want that if you never read the books?!" He asked in an inquiring tone. "Has that been the only thing you acknowledge of my outburst?"You asked shocked. "Of course not, just don't know what to say other than that guy must have had some effect for you to be pouring your heart out."

Looking at the group again and not seeing the guy that looked like the man of your dreams, you signed. "Yeah maybe, which is weird, but there are a lot of things in life that I can't explain!" After a pause you said. "I'm good, you know? Single?" Mateo looked at you with a smile on the corner of his mouth. "I know. I also know that you wouldn't mind if that man came up here and talked to you like Edward Ferrars talks to Elinor Dashwood. But you wouldn't know who those are." He said the last part with a snarky smile. "You are right, my friend. And for your information, I watched the movies!" He barked a laugh and set his beer down. Grabbing you by the hand, Mateo started to lead you to the dance floor and yelled "Maybe if we dance like we are in Pride and Prejudice he will be your Mr. Darcy!"

Unbeknownst to you, Benny had come closer to try and strike up a conversation with you, ending up hearing everything you said. He made a promise to himself at that moment. He would read all of Jane Austen's books, watch all the movies, find out who the characters you mentioned were, and be that to you.

Monster Replays the Truthful Route: Part 2

Just realized that the end of this month marks the anniversary of Digimon Survive's release, so I wanna finish this playthrough just in time!

Weird glitch I noticed: When someone's talking, sometimes the voice over doesn't play, and then they 'talk' in sync with the next characters lip flaps. It usually happens whenever somebody's talking to Takuma.

In all seriousness, though, the Professor's "death" feels very tragic. WhiIe it's obvious from previous playthroughs that he's not really dead, the group's reaction to it, as well as the music playing in the background, really make it hit hard for me.

The same goes for Fangmon's death as well. While it's true that he was meant to be a bad guy who straight up tried to kill the Survive gang, the way his death played out just felt gruesome, even if no actual gore was shown.

Or maybe I'm just a big wuss.

This post took me hours to make. I wish I was joking. It's 11:59 PM as I'm typing this.

supernatural s7e11 adventures in babysitting (w. adam glass)

when this started i was like. is this... going to be a twilight new moon reference...

which is my favorite scene in the series, it's my favorite adaptation of how the book did it (a blank page with just the month name for 3 pages in a row), and it's one of my most favorite and memorable usages of music in a movie.

while the circumstances are less permanent, new moon really hit for me with grief. and in fact i made a little parallel thing with this scene in spn s2e3 bloodlust (sera wrote that one) when sam and dean are in the thick of john just dying.

i wrote a little bit (under the cut) about my own parents deaths in the last episode and as ever this show pokes at my dead parents feelings and i'm not sure this episode is gonna go down with me. john dying was rough on me in that stirring up personal grief way, i'm hoping to not have a repeat of that experience.

(minor music rant, i think why it gets to me so much is because i am such a pushover and so easily emotionally manipulated by tv/movie music. *usually* if a show wants me to fell sad, they're gonna hit that button with music if nothing else. and i dislike it when i feel like i'm being manipulated. so to have a show not be able to hit that low bar, when i am already extremely emotionally connected to the show, THAT is notable. and not good. because like i said, i'm a cheap date. like just for a second there i felt that real sadness with this generic sad piano score happening as we go from sam and dean arguing and deciding to work different jobs to sam knocking on the kid's door. it was right there! but it petered out as soon as it came. -- edited to add: not surprisingly, it's a jay gruska ep)

KRISSY So... Guess I'm retiring – one and done. DEAN Really? How you feel about that? KRISSY Who knows? Maybe I'll go to Stanford like Sam. KRISSY We're so lame. DEAN Yeah, we are. Take care of yourself.

SAM You know what? Good for them. DEAN Yeah. It's nice to walk away from someone and feel like they could be okay. How about you? How you doing? You all right? SAM No. I'm definitely not. But, you know, I mean, um, I think, maybe... I just want to work. SAM Should I even ask? DEAN I'm fine. SAM "Fine," meaning...? DEAN You're right. We should just... work, right? And figure out a way to kick Dick Roman's ass. Well, hey, we are the professionals.

obstinate as dean can be about some things, he sure will take other people's advice to heart and start implementing it. though faking the smiles for that long while driving was creepy and sad

Sure! If I'm talking about Black and Grey, I might as well talk about White and Gray too. So, to preface this, in my AU Unova has two alternate universes, with the differences them mostly being the games' version differences, like one universe has White Forest and the other has Black City. Gates rarely open between the two universes, and scientists have been researching the phenomenon. They managed to create a function that should open the gate, but for unknown reasons fails to function. Fennel, who helped develop the X-Transceiver, decides to include a button on a few test models of the device that would open the gate, and hands it to a few trainers in hopes of one of them getting it to work.

Black and White are each others' alternate universe counterparts, and so are Grey and Gray. As some of the only people whose counterparts are different, they have the ability to open the gates with their X-Transceivers. They basically just use it to visit each other and check in on their journey, and seeing all the differences between their worlds.

That's the basics, now to talk about the actual characters! I've drawn their family trees before so here they are! Pics and character info behind the readmore since this got long!

So, Black and White's dad is Looker. (Emma's a character Looker meets in XY postgame, in case you haven't seen her. It's my AU and I decided he adopts her. In canon Looker disappears into another universe but by the time that happens his kid(s) are experts in dimensional travel and go get him back.)

Black and White are very different people. Black's a shy, awkward kid with social anxiety who can barely order in restaurants, but around his friends and online he's more confident and outspoken. His hobbies are gaming and music, and he's a mod at a chatroom Cheren started for their friend group. White, meanwhile, is confident and says whatever comes to mind, and prefers outdoor hobbies like hiking and biking. She's in her universe's version of Cheren's chatroom, but barely ever checks it, though she likes hearing Cheren and Bianca tell her what's been going on in there.

Finally, the character you actually wanted to hear about, Grey! Her and Gray's father is dead in both worlds, nobody talks about him, and everyone in the family is better off without him. That's all you need to know about him.

When they meet, Grey decides on "E" and "A" as their nicknames since their names are pronounced the same.

Grey's the type of person who seems to barrel through everything with the self-confidence of someone who always gets her way. She's constantly joking about everything, including her bisexuality, but usually avoids talking about anything serious about herself or her feelings, deflecting anything like that with more jokes. She does have the emotional maturity to notice if somebody's hurting and take things seriously to help them. However, she also has a bit of a short temper and may start fights to defend somebody, as well as think her way of helping someone is the only right way, so it may not always turn out well, but she tries her best.

Gray, on the other hand, is nervous and shaky, and has a hard time asserting himself even around his closest friends in fear of offending them. He's also got serious reoccurring short-term memory issues, and usually has to rely on his mom or his friend Hue for help. (Hue being Hugh's name in this AU because I wanted to make the color theme more obvious. His little sister's named Tint!) Also, unlike Grey, Gray has DID, and an alter named Nate who usualy comes out whenever Gray is in serious mental distress and needs somebody to just take over. Nate's more calm and collected than Gray, though still has the same memory issues, he's just more likely to make deadpan jokes about it. Nate usually makes his appearance obvious to others by putting on his visor and putting his hair up, looking more like his canon design.

I realized I didn't actually have any good pics of him outside paper drawings so I quickly whipped this up just now! DID is kind of a touchy subject since it gets misrepresented in media so much but I tried my best to research actual DID for my boys Gray and Nate... If I still get something horribly wrong with them at some point I hope someone will tell me.

Bigger Than Me - Song Analysis a.k.a. My Wild Ramblings Because I Have All The Feels

I never make my own text posts, because for whatever reason, I get too anxious about sharing my thoughts in my own words. But I have too many thoughts about Bigger Than Me, both the lyrics and the music video, that I just need to write down. These are my thoughts on the lyrics only, because the music video is a whole different ball game.

When somebody told me I would change I used to hide behind a smile When somebody told me I would change I was afraid, I don't know why 'Cause so does the world outside, I realised

I read this as Louis being afraid of other people knowing who he was - a young man in love with another young man. He knows who he is, and he knows he can't change in the way the people who tell him he will change want him to; he can't be a straight man. He thinks of change only in terms of the negative it can bring, i.e. more hiding, going further into the closet. He doesn't see how change can be positive in that things could happen that allow him to be more of himself publicly. But change is natural. The world will grow and change around him - and because of that, he will be able to grow and change too, in a positive way, and be more himself.

I didn't read the signs

Double meaning: 1) he couldn't see how the world was changing/couldn't believe it, and 2) he tried to ignore fan signs showing support for the parts of him he kept hidden (signs supporting Larry, signs with rainbows saying they supported him, blue/green signs, etc.).

Walkin' different lines

He was trying to be what he was told he needed to be at different times, personally and professionally, toeing the line between what he wanted and what other people wanted at any given times. Walking the line between convincing heterosexuality/bearding and respecting himself and his actual partner. What his label wanted vs. what his band wanted. What he wanted vs. what he thought he could have. It goes on and on.

I know I took a left Tryna make it right

He didn't always get it right. When so many people wanted so many different things from him, he made decisions that he wasn't proud of. Maybe one big decision, which could be anything from agreeing to an image clause, bearding, Babygate, or any number of things we know nothing about.

All of these voices, all of these choices I don't hear them anymore Hear them anymore

All of the people around him who were pressuring him into making impossible choices, he is becoming free of. He is allowing his own voice to be heard now, drowning out the others.

He used to spend a lot of time thinking a lot about himself. How to hide. How to keep other people happy. How to make sure no one discovered anything they weren't supposed to. He didn't realize that the things he was going through are the types of things that so many people go through. He didn't realize that the way things were being done actually had nothing to do with him or anything wrong with him, but with the way other people felt out of control and the way the world was/is. He now understands that not only is the issue not him, but that he can have an enormous impact by allowing himself to be more himself in a public context.

So come on, call me "liar" Yeah, you're so quick to judge 'Cause, yeah, I mighta changed But everybody does

He knows that many will see him living more authentically (anything from wearing what he feels most comfortable and confident in to not being afraid to be a bit flamboyant to potentially, some day, coming out) as him having been a liar. He understands that much of the general public will view him that way. But he also knows that they don't understand what he's been through and that it is much safer for him to be more authentic now than it ever has been before - both because of the world changing, to some extent (not to mention contracts), but also to growing up, becoming more comfortable in himself, and actively trying to fight his own anxieties.

He wants other people to question why he's done things the way he has, not to judge and assume. Life is not black and white. There are very few absolutes, and he hopes that people will understand that. He hopes that people will understand how he - and people like him - have struggled, feeling like they are lying or doing something wrong and not able to choose to do anything differently without also suffering severe consequences. He is lifted up by the fact that he knows he's not alone. There are so many people like him out there, and so many fans and people who love and support him as exactly who he is.

Candace Owens might be the stupidest Daily Wire grifter

Welcome to the blog, I hate you already. (source: The Candace Owens Show at Daily Wire. Episode was posted on February 2nd, 2024)

Candace Owens is the only one of the major Daily Wire four that I haven't covered yet. This is because she was on maternity/"I pissed off Ben Shapiro" leave and she only got back from that early January.

Candace Owens isn't a true believer. She briefly ran an anti-Trump blog until she decided to "come out as a conservative". Coincidentally that coming out has made her quite wealthy. Also she paled around with Kanye West when he was at the peak of his antisemitic public outburst and is part of the Charlie Kirk sphere over at Turning Point too so she strays even further right than a lot of Daily Wire grifters with the exception of maybe Matt Walsh.

Anyways, lets get into it. Candace starts off the show by talking about groundhog day and then starts the show off by dropping a slur....I'm already annoyed.

00:20, Candace Owens: "But onto more serious news. People on X are saying the Nikki Haley is showing signs of clinical retardation on the basis of a post she shared. It's very serious and we need to talk about it."

Dropping a slur within the first 20 seconds of your show is wild even for the bizarre media ecosystem that we inhabit on this blog.

00:30, Candace Owens: "Plus, later on in the show we are going to be discussing Sexyy Red. Let me tell you, it pains me to have this discussion. I fought my producers for two weeks, it is an artist, and yes the time has come, we do need to cover her."

This is something that a lot of these guys do that I find really funny. Oh yeah, your producer forced you to do this. Definitely not you just sniffing around for clicks. No, your producers dragged you onto your show to do this.

Anyway, Candace really hates Sexyy Red.

02:06, Candace Owens: "She's kind of a big deal. But she became a bigger deal last week when I declined to cover her because I was so physically sickened by what I was looking at, when she hosted a baby shower for her second child and she was with her baby daddy."

This is so obscenely overdramatic. So this woman's baby shower got a little dirty, who gives a crap? A big part of her image is being pretty raunchy so it's kind of whatever. The thing that Candace is pissed about is a photo she posted of her "baby daddy's" head in between her butt cheeks. It's stupid

If this woman chooses to make that her brand identity, whatever. More power to her. It's not really my thing so I don't watch it. It's that simple. Also, if you have ever seen RM Brown videos you've at least got to respect Sexyy Red for giving us the glorious sound drop of Ben Shapiro saying "bootyhole waxed down".

03:35, Candace Owens: "What we are seeing right now is a decline in culture full stop, but particularly in black America."

Whenever these people talk about cultural decline I always wonder what era of culture they yearn for. Is it like a Leave It To Beaver type situation with the parents sleeping in separate beds or something? Also, aren't these guys supposed to be free speech warriors?

"I want free speech....as long as the speech being practiced is only stuff that I like."

03:43, Candace Owens: "So the question is; how does somebody this grotesque, somebody this filthy, get a platform? Certainly it can't be happening organically."

"I can't comprehend somebody who I don't like having a following."

Candace does realize that people on this big orb that we call Earth have different and varied tastes and as a result people you might not like sometimes become popular.

She plays seven seconds of the music video for Pound Town and laments the decline of civilization.

04:37, Candace Owens: "What culture is that? Who's culture is that? Please spare me this 'It's black culture.'"

This may come as a shock to Candace but absolutely nobody is saying that Sexyy Red is representative of black culture. I mean, yeah as a black musician she's certainly a part of black culture but there are other aspects of black culture that you can consume if you don't like Sexyy Red. Culture is a complex thing that doesn't only include music, let alone only one artist.

04:44, Candace Owens: "I'm so glad we're covering this by the way, this is what we should be doing in Black History Month. We should be covering black present because it matters more."

Didn't you just say that your producers basically had to drag you into the studio and you had a two week long battle so that you wouldn't have to cover this?

Also, Candace Owens has some pretty deranged thoughts on slavery so her saying that we shouldn't talk about black history is pretty on brand.

05:26, Candace Owens: "And so I looked into who platformed this young woman, actually. Who is the record company or the media conglomerate that's behind her. It turns out that first it was an independent record that picked her up in 2021 but in 2023, and the reason why she's starting to gain so much popularity, a media company called Gamma started distributing her."

The reality-based explanation for why Gamma started distributing her is that they simply saw that she had the potential to gain traction and thus earn money. Keep in mind that she went viral in 2018 and collaborated with Summer Walker in 2022, both before Gamma started releasing her music.

Gamma most likely saw that this person was getting popular online and decided to capitalize on it. That's how the record industry has worked since it's inception. Find new talent that has the potential to attract an audience and capitalize on it.

05:54, Candace Owens: "The two individuals that started Gamma, one of them came out of Apple, his name is Larry Jackson. And the second one of them came from Interscope Records, he has a ton of clout in the record community, the music industry so to speak. And his name is Ike Youssef. Lets keep following this, lets keep going down this."

You mean to tell me that this startup record company picked up a startup artist who was gaining traction? Man, something sinister must be going on here!

This right here is what happens when you have conspiracy theory brain rot and you need to try and make something out of nothing.

06:16, Candace Owens: "Ike Youssef, people might want to stand out and say 'OK, who is this guy?'"

Oh gee, really? I wonder why Candace Owens' audience would hear a name like "Ike Youssef" and instantly regard that person with suspicion. Hmmm....

06:21, Candace Owens: "Now when I hear the name Youssef it instantly singles to me that this person is either Muslim or Jewish, Arab perhaps."

Ah, bingo!

06:34, Candace Owens: "I remain convinced that a Muslim exec and a Jewish exec would never put a Muslim and a Jewish artist that was putting this sort of music on the airwaves onto their platforms."

First of all, that statement is seedy as all Hell because the implication is that there's a Muslim and or Jewish conspiracy to push music that Candace doesn't like onto the black community.

Second of all, could it be that the Muslim and Jewish community don't often consume that type of music? I know that there are a lot of Muslim rappers and a lot of Jewish rappers but those communities are pretty conservative over all and probably wouldn't consume music like Sexyy Red. Again, it's not a conspiracy, it's business.

Anyway, she objects to Larry Jackson being black because he's....platforming black musicians? She plays a clip of Larry Jackson being interviewed for the Huffington Post.

09:19, Candace Owens: "So what did we learn in that clip? Well we learned that Larry Jackson came from a two parent home, a stable household, parents married for 45 years. I did some more digging, he went to catholic school, he ran cross-country, he worked hard from the time he was young, he was winning awards because he had an interest as he was working in radio, got his foot through the door, did everything right in life so that when he got to the top he could feed the community filth."

Again, different strokes for different folks. Candace Owens isn't the objective voice of authority on music or really art in general. If people like it, who the Hell cares? Mind your own business and let people like what they like!

Anyway, she's done with this Sexyy Red story and now it's time to talk about Nikki Haley.

11:27, Candace Owens: "Honestly I don't even know where to begin on this Nikki Haley thing other than to say that I feel vindicated. I feel vindicated because a lot of people watch this show and I say things and people are wondering if I'm trying to be funny or mean but I'm kind of just reading the tea leaves. And regarding Nikki Haley, on the day she announced she was running I shared a story with you guys and I told you that it signaled to me that Nikki Haley is not that intelligent."

I'm not a Nikki Haley fan by any means but you probably guessed that already so I won't press the issue any further. However, Candace has this completely stupid story about Nikki posting some fan emails that she received. Candace thinks they are fake.

14:53, Candace Owens: "Nikki the screenshot you sent unfortunately, in that left hand corner, it says send."

Here's what I think happened here, I think this probably was a real piece of fan mail that Nikki's team transposed the text of onto some stock graphic representing unsent mail. That way you don't end up doxing some guys email without his consent.

They probably also changed this "Michael B's" full last name to just Michael B or used a fake name for the tweet because again, doxing some random guy who sent your campaign fan mail is a REALLY bad idea.

Again, I don't like Nikki at all but we've got to be fair here.

15:14, Candace Owens: "And unfortunately ladies and gentlemen this isn't the only piece of 'fan mail' that Nikki Haley shared. She also shared this, it's on lined school paper, notebook paper."

Again, they put the text from the real letter onto a graphic. Not everybodies handwriting is easy to read and using a graphic helps keep everything clear. Plus if you post the actual text of the letter you may end up revealing somebodies full name or accidentally posting an address on the envelope. Using a graphic helps keep everybody safer.

If I was Nikki I wouldn't have done this or at least found another graphic because of bad faith morons like Candace Owens, but it's obvious that this is what this is.

15:45, Candace Owens: "That was written again by someone who decided not to use their last name."

What would Candace rather have happen? Have Nikki dox her fans who send her messages? I feel like this is just Candace being intentionally obtuse at this point.

Anyway, this Nikki stuff has gotten old at this point. Onto the next segment!

18:22, Candace Owens: "Alright guys, moving on. So obviously, when the BLM riots took place and those of us who are willing to simply tell the truth about what was going to happen once you encourage criminality in the inner cities."

So, the story that Candace is covering here is that there have been a string of Walgreens closures in Boston that have led to community leaders speaking out.

The thing that the griftosphere has ignored whilst covering this story is the fact that these pharmacies provide vital prescription medication to the communities that they are located in. Many of the people living in these disenfranchised communities can't afford to travel long distance to receive their prescriptions. In short, Candace is arguing that people should be denied vital prescription medication because "That's what happens when you shoplift". Complete sociopath behavior.

19:15, Candace Owens: "While democratic rep Ayanna Pressley has never been accused of being bright, but this is exceptional, it is exceptional what he is doing here. She is condemning Walgreens for quote on quote 'racial and ethnic discrimination' because they made the business-wise decision to close their doors in Boston after losing a ton of money because they were being robbed."

Quite frankly, when peoples lives and vital medications are in the fray I don't give a shit about a multimillion dollar conglomerate losing money.

Anywho, she plays a clip from Ayanna addressing the house. Here's the full speech if you are interested in watching it.

21:38, Candace Owens: "She's actually very sure of herself in this utterly stupid analysis, condemning a business for moving out and saying that 'OK, well what's going to happen if we don't have access to diapers?'. Well you should have thought of that before you were robbing the diapers from their store, before you were robbing the food from their store."

First of all, I would like to see the stats that show that these Walgreens are experiencing large amounts of theft because Candace hasn't provided them.

Second of all, and this is the more important point, even if there are some thefts should people in that neighborhood who have children and or medical conditions be forced to suffer for the actions of the few? No!

Anyway, that's really it for Candace' show, nothing else interesting happens. She reads comments from her viewers, some of which conspicuously don't have their last names displayed in their usernames. I guess they were fake and left by Candaces' team.

Conclusion:

So, that was my introduction to Candace Owens. This particular show was a complete disaster and was also so utterly freaking daft. I mean, compared to other Daily Wire guys I would say that Candace is on the worse end (they are all varying levels of bad but still). The entire episode was covering absolutely meaningless stories interspersed with casual bigotry and conspiracy theory nudging. Anyway, cheers and I'll see you in the next one.

i honestly dont know too much about led zeppelin but ive been following the srs22 tag a little bit and i think youre the second person to answer that type of question with LZ lol. i did some research and yeah, i gotta agree with you. jimmys a shitty dude

thats a neat cover!! its so simple but yet so expressive. i always love covers that show you the actual artist behind the songs. its like getting a little glimpse into who they are

omg so do you have a playlist for weird songs?? i love fun, kind of humorous songs that tell a story so transfusion was a fun listen!

and yeahh i started getting odd vibes from hank when i listened to a song where he went on and on about sin and the devil and whatever else. i guess i didnt go deep enough to hear the misogynistic stuff but the normal songs were fun. but dont be sorry about any perceived negativity!! i think its important to be aware of both the good and the bad

also about the celebrating christmas thing, i can relate. i live with family so i go along with it, and even though theyre christian theyre not too weird about it thankfully. i just enjoy the festivities

I also know a lot of music that is weird because it sounds very ethereal and or weird and out of time.

Some artists I recommend here are: Branko Mataja (not only his album covers are really good), Joe Meek (legendary producer but what discussion about him there is is rarely about his work but about his tragic and messy life), Charlie Megira, Link Wray and Mamman Sani. I feel like these guys get usually labeled outsider, a term I don't particularly like because it treats queer and mentally ill or just generally weird people like Zoo Exhibitions while not actually having any stylistic consistency.

However the four guys I mentioned above do have similarities like a focus on lo-fi instrumental music, use of electric equipment/sounds/instruments that haven't been done in the way they did (Charlie Megira technically doesn't use technology/sound in a way the others do, considering he was mostly active in the last 20 years, but he uses it in ways his predecessors did without giving it a commercialised sheen while also carving out some darker and noisier sounds)

My opinion on outsider music is definitely complicated because the art of people that are othered by our society is important, but a lot of audiences are very weird about it, and it does more bad than good to focus on arbitrary similarities in the lives/experiences of musicians while ignoring their waaaast differences. Like none of the five artists above ever met and except for Link Wray and Branko Mataja who lived in America weren't even living on the same continent meaning they definitely weren't a scene or something.

It's also worth noting that being mentally ill doesn't define somebody's art, meaning that poining at somebodys art and saying they could only have created it because they were mentally ill is dumb.

Not to mention that a lot of "outsider" artists were diagnosed and institutionalised at a point in time where mental illness was understood very differently and diagnosis was used as a way to other/label people who did not conform.
