I don't know if you've done this before but what are some good ways to describe speech?

His voice was deep like the rumbling of the earth.
She had the voice of a singer, smooth and rich like chocolate.
Their voice reminded him of spring rain.
He often paused in his speaking, like a car radio that had lost signal.
She had a lilt to her voice that made it seem like she was asking a question.
Their voice was monotonous, threatening to put her to sleep with every word.
He couldn't put her voice into words. It was... otherworldly.
Her voice was brittle, as if she were on the verge of tears.
Their voice was authoritative. Their words carried like a loud command.
His voice, unapologetic and unwavering, made her shrink back.
Her voice was barely above a whisper.
Their words were cold with anger.

For your time travelling kids AU:
The kids didn’t realise Jon and Martin ever disliked each other bc Jon was to embarrassed to say he was mean to his husband, the father of his children. So the kids keep making comments about how gross and in love they are (bc you know, children) and jmart is like “uuuuuuuuh…”
Oh the kids for sure know that Jon was a bit of a butt when they first met from all the teasing Martin did around them, but they could never fathom how mean he really was. They’ve made it their job to embarrass their parents however much they can now, without actually giving away their origins, to make up for Jon’s rudeness

i am once again thinking about how fucked it is that sacrificing like half to three fourths of the ships/crews to save 3 people is considered a paragon option but sacrificing about 75% of your unit to defeat the enemy is renegade. why would sacrificing thousands of people to save 3 be considered “compassionate” or “heroic” while sacrificing 75% of your unit (which is 7-14 people apparently, so like 5-11 people) to ensure you won is considered “ruthless” or “apathetic”
(i know why. its bc the first mass effect game doesnt really seem to have a grip on what it wants its morality to be much more than blue= nice, good and red= bad, mean)

[ID: A page from Trigun Maximum. In the first panel, the child Knives, wearing a big heavy coat with a furry collar, is reaching up, looking startled. The second panel shows that what he's looking at is a distant, faint, pale figure. The third panel closes in on the figure to show a child with pale shoulder-length hair and a blank expression, wearing the same kind of oversized shirt that Vash and Knives usually do as children. In the fourth panel, Knives is reeling back a little, still looking startled and anxious, as is Vash, who's standing behind him. Knives yells, "Vash! Is that..." The fifth panel shows the top of a cold sleep pod, and a bit of the face of the child sleeping happily inside. The sixth panel shows Vash in the background, looking down and saying, "No, it's... it's not her". In the foreground, Knives is still facing forwards, still frowning anxiously. The seventh panel shows the pale figure in the distance, and then the eight panel shows a sort of glimmer as if it's fading away, with Knives chasing after it and giving out a wordless exclamation. In the ninth panel, Knives is running down a corridor with Vash following behind, looking at the white silhouette of a person at the far end. The tenth panel shows that it's the same pale child, now looking back over her shoulder at the twins. End ID.]
Has there ever been a definitive answer as to what the fuck is happening here? Is Tessla a ghost? Is her body actually, as TriStamp suggests, still alive, and reaching out to the only other independent plants around? Are the twins somehow sensing her presence, but because they don't fully understand their own powers, the sense manifests as a shared hallucination, similar to the way Vash seemed to sense that Knives had been around during a plant's Last Run but didn't see what actually happened, just a loose representation? If this is Tessla purposefully reaching out to the boys, why now? Is it because the rest of the crew woke up, and she wants to warn them of what could happen if anyone else sees them? Or, like Vash argues later, does she too think that the twins are in danger now that they're a year old, older than she ever got to be, old enough for experiments to pick up where she died? Or does she just want her own kind to visit her lonely grave?

HOW TO DECIDE A TITLE FOR YOUR STORY
Picking titles for your story can be crucial. Creating the perfect title that tells its own story and is unique, importantly, it should reach the right audience.
"If they can judge a book by its cover, they will judge the title."
Know the summary of your story, and build a title based on it. (Your title should relatively give an idea about the story)
Deciding the title after significant elements in your book.
Naming the title after the plot twist (no one sees it coming)
Give the title of your story based on the main character.
Avoid cliches and long titles. (They aren't as impactful as you think)
Titles often vary by genre. For instance, mystery titles might aim to be more enigmatic, while romance titles may focus on emotions or relationships.
Remember, your title should make the reader think, excite them, and create a memorable title.
Author Tip: Picking the 'perfect' title can be difficult. Take help by browsing through movie names and mix-matching the words.

May I introduce her majesty, Haze Cesario Idafield
Tumblr media
The sincere ruler of humanity's last remaining safe-haven, the kingdom of Neo-Eidyia.
Our fearless leader in Tales of the Rays new arc: Recollection. It would be my pleasure to tell you more about her. At least that we know of so far in our 3 short chapters.
On the surface:
Haze is a truly kindhearted ruler who wants nothing more than the destruction of the wraiths that brought mankind to its current desperate state. She strives to understand, bring happiness to, and deliver salvation to her people. She loves her people dearly and bears her weight as ruler with diligence.
Tumblr media
Once you get to know her more personally you will find her to be not only earnest and caring, but also somewhat oblivious to simpler aspects of life that only commoners know of. She approaches such new things in a very headstrong manner that sometimes leads her to actions quite unexpected of her royal status.
But Haze has more to her than this. Let's delve deeper under the cut:
Haze leads not only her country and her army but also research on the wraiths and how to eradicate them once and for all. During said research, generations ago, she one day ceased to age. She knows not how or why, but views it as god's will for her to wipe out the wraiths. As such, she has lived for many lifetimes now, and her desire to save her people grows each passing day. To her, all of her citizens are like her beloved children.
Tumblr media
Immortality has its side effects. Haze's memory is decidedly too full. She must focus intently to remember things at times, even if they happened just yesterday. It's unknown just how deeply this affects her besides momentary times of heavy thought to recall the past.
Haze is also very fond of open affection and contact. She is not shy about stating her love for her people or her friends. Neither will she hesitate to give headpats or hugs. She is confused when others get embarrassed by her doting on them in these ways, but notes when she has made someone uncomfortable and tries to give them space.
Tumblr media
Haze has long lived to see wraiths' blight upon mankind erased.
Her constant years of research and battle are about to pay off, though in ways entirely unexpected...

Hey like,, I've seen a bagillion ppl talk about this for autistic people but like none for those with systems.
What do I call an alter who struggles to speak or loses speech?? Because some of us can talk and some of us can't, for a variety of reasons. Maybe we have word/voice quirks and some of us mask, some of us just can't speak english, some of us feel the affect of aphasia more than others, some of us just genuinely struggle to or can't speak. All sorts of reasons.
But its obviously different for someone who's a single person. So wtf do we call our alters who don't or struggle to speak???

facebook post from joe on christmas 2020
Well, it’s 2am on Christmas Eve night and I find myself laying in bed, thinking about this year’s Christmas Extravaganza that never was. This would’ve been the thirteenth year. It has been both deeply comforting and insanely depressing to get so many messages from people who were bummed about the show not happening or posting pics from years past. I truly can’t believe that I am part of something that plays such a huge role in the lives of so many people I know and love and so many strangers. It’s been the one constant in my own life since I first started working in this business and I have long suspected that Christmas just wouldn’t feel like Christmas without doing the Extravaganza. I was right. People have been asking me if I was going to do a virtual Extravaganza since September. While I have not wanted to let anyone down, I just couldn’t bring myself to make it happen. There’s nothing remote about the Extravaganza and I felt like as soon as you took it out of a room with live actors interacting with actual humans, it became something else entirely. I was desperately hoping to have Some holiday whatnot to offer and for a while it looked like we were going to get to do an Iconis and Family concert on an empty stage at a regional theater that would be streamed but, as often happens these days, it got cancelled at the very last minute. It was my most personally disappointing theatrical experience of the year! And I assumed it was the last theatrical undertaking I would be involved with until 2021. And then. Out of the blue, I got involved producing (and performing in) the #SaveWestBankCafe campaign and telethon. And while it’s not the same as staging the freewheeling ode to Christmas Specials and Chosen Families that I’ve done for the past 12 years, it does feel weirdly connected. The Christmas Extravaganza usually involves a plot device that finds us trying “save the theater” from a greedy real estate developer or landlord or [insert classic Christmas villain here.] The whole misfit gang has to band together and pool our resources and make sure that good triumphs over evil. It’s not enough that we save the theater, we have to save the Christmas villain, save the city, save the whole stinkin’ world. I realized that I AM doing the Christmas Extravaganza this year. It’s just real life. There’s no anthropomorphic chestnuts (yet) but otherwise, it’s all the same. t really know where this is going, but I wanted to say thanks for everyone who has been along for the ride- both onstage and off. Thanks for making me feel like this family that we’ve made is as important to you as it is to me. And promise me you’ll be there when we come back. And yes, Virginia, we Will come back. This is the final speech that was gonna happen right before the end of that cancelled Iconis and Family show. Read along. I’ll be me and you can be EVERYBODY. JOE Well, it’s almost time to say goodnight. But before we go, I want to thank everyone on this stage for spending tonight with me. And thank all of you watching at home, too. I think the thing I miss most about the before times is the live connection between us up here and you out there, but I also think I learned something tonight. EVERYBODY What did you learn, Joe? JOE I learned that just because you can’t see something doesn’t mean it isn’t there. It’s not just the audience who is missing in this theater tonight, there are plenty of Iconis Family members who couldn’t be here either. But even though they aren’t, they are. I feel them. The storm’s raging outside, but we’re fighting through it. And right now, a dozen lunatics singing theater songs on a stage at a regional theater feels like more than Christmas. It feels like hope. From all of us to all of you: here’s to Family, to home, to survival. And here’s to the day when we can all be together again. [Music: “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)”] Photo by Jessie Smith
