I found this neat portrait of Roustam Raza made by Hortense de Beauharnais! Circa 1800s

Roustam was Napoleon’s bodyguard and valet, and Hortense was Napoleon’s stepdaughter. Roustam was an Armenian Mameluke in Egypt, originally from Tbilisi. He became employed by Napoleon during the Egypt campaign in 1799, following him back to Europe, and remained by his side until Napoleon’s abdication in 1814. He lived the rest of his life in France.

just found this account today because ive been researching backdoordisney and buzzy!!! buzzy my beloved.... anyways, with hortense, doesnt the size difference of the two animatronics prove they are not the same? the head of the alien from alien encounter looks to be the size of an adult males torso & head, but hortense looks absolutely MASSIVE

(For context, Hortense is the colloquial name for the monster in Journey to the Center of the Earth ride at Tokyo DisneySea.)

Honestly? At this point, I have no idea. It might just be a matter of perspective. If you were actually IN the theater for Alien Encounter (or have seen footage of it, at least), the alien really did look massive. I really don't know how they differ in size, if at all. I wish I could get an Imagineer's input on it, but you know how Disney is about their secrets, lol!
