Arggg I’m stressing! My latest chapter for my fic is technically finished but it’s got so many flaws; the over-wordyness, the lack of good flow, and also it ends abruptly with no good resolution. I can’t stand it. I want to fix it but I don’t know where to start, and although I would like to work on later chapters I can’t do them until this one is fixed. Help meeeee I need advice and also my creativity is at a slump, I’m so stuck it’s making me stressed

The good news is: YOU'RE NOT ALONE!!!

I think this is something all of us writers experience a lot. I totally understand the desire to hurry and get the chapter finished, but it sounds like you might need to take a step back and look at it with the freshest of eyes!

I feel a little silly giving advice, as I certainly don't have all the answers in the world, but I've certainly been in this position before and can share some of what I do to try and get past it:

To begin, are you suuuuuure you need to finish the chapter to move on to other ones? Sometimes, jumping around chapters and plot events can help you to come up with more interesting resolutions/situations! Don't go into writing the chapters with the set intention of having them be THE final draft. Moving on from the place your stuck on is most important! So, I say try starting a later chapter anyway! See what you can do. Sometimes it helps you fill in the gaps of where you might be stuck :]

Second, I recommend doing some light reading of books/articles/blogs about writing! Search the web for writing exercises or read about how other authors follow through with the writing process (like now! See? You're already on the right track, anon!). There's plenty of material out there to get you writing, either for the chapter you're stuck on or for something else entirely!

Which brings me to my final suggestion: Move on to something else for a little while! Sometimes you have to set your work in progress aside and do something else that's got you motivated. I know you want to finish your current project (believe me, I toooootally understand), but your brain can only think about one thing for so long! You gotta exercise the creativity in other projects to oil up those brain gears! Then, after you've taken a break, try going back and reading through the chapter again and see what happens.

For me, taking a break and moving on to something else works the best. Honestly, and you're gonna hate me for this, I would probably not look at the chapter for at least a week..... You really need to reset your brain in order to make appropriate edits! Like, for real, sometimes I get so frustrated and I won't look at a wip for like. a month (mainly because work and class get in the way anyways lmao) but then when I FINALLY am like ok. I'm just gonna remind myself what I have (because you will FORGET hopefully) and then boom. You'll have fresh eyes, fresh thoughts, and will be more likely to be able to fix what you don't think is working :]

ah...... not sure if this was the advice you were searching for.... but truly the most important thing for creativity is to both exercise it and give it breaks! I know... confusing... but its true I swear you just gotta get reach creative homeostasis....

Rewatching GG has made me appreciate it so much more (the Episode Guide is almost done*, I just need to edit it because it's a bit messy), and knowing there won't be another Digimon anime for a good while again (aside from the Zero Two movie but I'm not watching it)... It's bitter sweet. We finally get plot, but at the cost of the series ending. It's been a fun, unique ride though, and I'm grateful for it

*I mean it won't be 100% completed until the final episode airs but I'll post it early so if anybody wants to rewatch some highlights, it'll be easier for them to find the right episodes

I desperately want Link to be like really actually pissed off that the Fae King has even a piece of the Goddess Blood Essence, especially after how she lost Shei. How dare he desecrate his memory! ...That might be one of the only things keeping her going while this is going on; Shei's memory.

I also think it's really funny that it's the Essence of the Skies that he's got... especially with all these Girahim vibes he's got going on lol.

I really like Link's shattering-sound trauma coming into play- I bet that hurts culling the herd of pottery tho :')

Here's an angsty thought: how does Shei's sudden absence affect Link? I bet since the Fae King's already trying to make her feel vulnerable, that doent help any... I'd love if she tried to find strength through Shei, or even vice verca.... <3

It'd be funny if Link and/or Stella were made to do menial tasks/chores like mending and tending the fae nobilty hand and foot, just for Link and Stella to pretend to but really they're sabotaging like. seams to fall apart or for dough not to set right or rinsing dishes in dirty dish water... petty stuff like that- stuff that Shei would probably (definitely) teach them. What, he was locked up in a dungeon for five years, they had to give him something to do!

Idk, it’s just fun to imagine Link popping into Telma’s bar after each dungeon and taking a little rest :) (or to celebrate? maybe just chat, idk, give this man some downtime!!)

Honestly it was just kind of nice that Link wasn’t entirely alone. I mean, I know Midna was there the whole time, but I am always for giving Link a big group of friends (see my love for hyrule warriors, age of calamity, and LU LMAO)

Hero’s shade, very very cool, kinda sad he died with regrets but HEY. He got to pass on his knowledge eventually

AND the connection to OoT?? AND assumed to be related by blood too????? GOOD SHIT

Ilia, I REALLY really wanted to like her (er, it’s not like I dislike her, she’s just,,, kinda there for me).

It definitely seems like Nintendo was pushing to make her the romantic interest, but GHHHHH they really threw that out of the window for me by having her lose her memories

I saw a text post a while ago that said it would have been interesting if Ilia was Link’s sister instead and YES!! That would have been cool too :0

Wish we got to know Zelda a little more

Idk man, like I said earlier, I never really had any sort of drive to save Zelda during my playthroughs

She obviously knows Midna, so maybe if they gave us just a little bit more of that relationship I’d be more interested in her?

TP WORLD BUILDINGGGG

Botw has good world building too, but each race felt kinda,,, isolated? I absolutely love the different architecture and vibe each town has (and all the the weapons too) but ghhh yea everyone felt so separated. As far as I can remember, we don’t see tooo much of the races interacting with each other? Now that I’m typing that out maybe that’s to be expected because of the calamity but KLSJDKJFD ANYWAYS THIS IS ABOUT TP

The world feels nice and alive, love how populated everything is

Castle town I like castle town a lot, it feels dense and busy and I really like how you can’t talk to every NPC you see

Very cool very fun that we got to see the Gorons hanging out in multiple spots

kinda wish we got to see the Zoras a little more (I guess they are a bit limited since they need water but GHHHH the tp zoras are so prebby,,)

BUT HEY, I do remember seeing a zora or two hanging out in the hot springs around death mountain after beating the lakebed temple (I think, might have been a different dungeon)

but aaaa would have been nice to see them in at least a couple of other places. I think it would have really added to the “congrats Link!! You’re restoring peace to Hyrule” feeling you get from seeing the Gorons hanging out in Kakariko and Castle Town

Love how chill it is and how it’s kind of separate from Hyrule proper

They really do seem to be doing their own thing apart from the rest of Hyrule

Just kinda adds onto the “he’s just a regular dude minding his own business” kind of vibes I get from TP Link

Love Midna’s theme and how they referenced the dark world theme from ALttP (I remember trying to learn the dark world theme on the piano and doing the Leonardo DiCaprio point meme at the little jingle I recognized from Midna’s theme)

Hyrule field theme SLAPS.

Apparently references a couple of the other over-world themes from the previous zelda games (I got this from 8-bit Music theory’s video on the over-world zelda themes, he talks about TP at around 11:40 but def recommend watching the whole video if you’re into music analysis stuff)

So there’s this bit of the Hyrule Field theme, I don’t know the official name for it but I remember seeing somewhere it being called the “at an advantage theme” since yeah, you hear it during the boss music whenever you expose their weak points. FUCKINGGG LOVE THAT. Didn’t notice it during my first playthrough, but hearing it during my second was like a little easter egg for my ears every time :)

Midna’s lament is very pretty (and fun to play on the piano)

I didn’t care for it too much when I started playing the game but hearing it in ZREO’s arrangement of the Hyrule Field theme literally makes me turn into a puddle of emotions. Also hearing it around and of the Ordon kids (I think it plays after Link saves Colin) AAAAAAAAAAAAA

Literally, the first time I listened to those I just,,,, plugged in my headphones, volume 100, layed on the floor/against my desk and silently vibed. I don’t know what the hell it is, but those two just fit so well with TP?? I still avoid listening to them nowadays cause if I DO I definitely will get overwhelmed with the “god I love this game so FUCKING MUCH” kind of feels.

the first time I heard him howling Zelda’s Lullaby I lost my shit because LKSJLDKSGLKJFSKG god that was.,, Bad. Anyways, hearing him howl some of the songs from OoT was cute :)

TP STAFF ROLL???

VERY GOOD. IT’s like 10 minutes long and GOD do I love every single second of it. It doesn’t have the same energy as the skyward sword staff roll or the orchestra pieces but GOD does it hit good??

Nice and calm after that big exciting adventure. Maybe it would have been more fun or emotional to have a higher energy piece but it was really nice getting to sit back and watch the camera fly around Hyrule. Seeing like, the Gorons and the Zoras having a good time, the kids returning to Ordon? GOOD SHIT.

and AAAAA that end, when you hear the main Zelda theme and see Link riding off out of Faron woods on Epona… good shit. It gets you thinking, where the hell is he going? What is he doing? Off ot do more adventuring? Going to help out the resistance or something? Going to help Zelda? Or maybe he’s trying to figure out a way to restore the mirror of twilight? Whoooo knows.

hhHHHHhhh it’s just that final reminder that YES!!! YOU JUST PLAYED A ZELDA GAME. JUST ANOTHER STORY APART OF THE WHOLE EPIC OF THE ZELDA SERIES AS A WHOLE

I also want to acknowledge the instrument/samples they used for all the twili stuff.

They’re all just so unique and contrast SO well with the rest of the TP OST. LIKE FUCK!! Anytime I hear the screech from the Twilit Kargarok? Sends a shiver down my spine. I associate those sounds SO strongly with the twili realm. (Like, the same way you associate the BSHEWW VVWWMMM sounds with light sabers)

EEEEEYYYYYYY IT’S THE RABBIT CHAPTER LET’S GOOOOO

If I had a nickel for every time I had to Google a plant name in Tolkien’s description of Ithilien, I’d have at least two dollars. But boy, I’m not complaining. This country sounds like absolute heaven in comparison to the Marshes.

A BATH!! THEY HAD A BAAAAATH 8-D !!!!!!!

I’m ecstatic about this for two reasons. One: I empathize heavily with the hobbits. Poor things haven’t been able to wash the wretched stink of the Dead Marshes off of them for like—what, half a week?? There isn’t even enough fresh water on the outskirts of Mordor to drink, let alone clean yourself, and they’ve been caked in that disgusting ooze for days. Tolkien has this habit of signifying “okay, the characters are taking a rest now, and you can too” by mentioning that the hobbits had a bath, and this is one example. It feels like an immediate reward to Frodo for his decision to follow Gollum forward.

And two: Now I don’t have to draw those dark spatters on their clothes anymore LOL X’-D

“Let’s find a place to lie up in. Not lower down. Higher up for me.” I know this is a technicality, because they do end up sleeping on the ground anyway, but can I call this character development from when the hobbits were all shirking at sleeping “up high” in Lothlorien??

“Frodo after a few mouthfuls of lembas settled deep into the brown fern and went to sleep. Sam looked at him.” Oh. OH. 8-D Is this the part?? IS IT???

“Frodo’s face was peaceful, the marks of fear and care had left it; but it looked old, old and beautiful, as if the chiselling of the shaping years was now revealed in many fine lines that had before been hidden, though the identity of the face was not changed.” My smile is growing so much as I read this paragraph hhhhhhhhh

So this part of the narration—“He wondered what the man’s name was and where he came from; and if he really was evil of heart, or what lies or threats had led him on this long march from home; and if he would not really rather have stayed there in peace”—that’s written from Sam’s POV, but it’s given to Faramir as dialogue in the movies, to help flesh him out. Nice.

“Hey honey,” You feel your shoulders slump down the moment you enter your shared bedroom, immediately biting your lip as you notice your husband, peacefully sleeping with his cheek pressed against the soft pillows. He looks like a view in itself, face devoid of any stress lines, his breath evenly calm as he naps on the mattress.

In all honesty, it isn’t even that late — only 10 pm, which is usually when you come home. But you understand, because Jisung’s been staying up late at the studios for four days in a row. So, the fact that he’s giving himself sufficient sleep is pretty relieving. He pouts like a baby even in his sleep, and you find yourself standing at the entrance and just… mesmerized at how you’re married to such a pretty, gorgeous man.

Walking up to him, you throw your bag mindlessly onto the floor as you seat yourself at the edge of the bed, right beside your husband. He doesn’t flinch at the slight dip in the mattress, only sighing before snuggling further into the warm pillow.

Pretty, so pretty. He’s ethereal in every which way you look at him. His black hair falls over his eyes beautifully, eyes closed in so much peace you’re suddenly overcome with an urge to kiss his eyelids gently. You reach out to gently run your hands through his silky hair, brushing it out of his face to reveal the clear, lineless skin above his eyebrows. Succumbing to the temptation, you lean down. gently pecking his forehead, smiling when you feel him shift under your actions.

You don’t stop combing through his hair, eyes focused on your lover. You’re gazing at him with so much concentration you’ve totally forgotten about everything around you, or you for that matter. You can’t feel the tension in your shoulders in contrast to the bubbling feeling of love in your chest — all because you happen to glance at your husband falling asleep in the most adorable, loving manner.

“Mmh,” He mumbles, and you can sense he’s going to wake up. You gently tuck several strands of his hair behind his ear smiling when you feel him shiver at the action. He shifts around a bit more before opening his eyes, the sight of his delicate black orbs in the dim lighting of the room almost making your heart burst out of your chest.

Fuck, it’s illegal for Han Jisung to be so adorable.

“You’re back!” He mumbles incoherently, rubbing over his eyes like a child that only makes you spiral more into the warm feeling of fuzziness you experience when you’re with Jisung. He gently pecks the hand that lies near him before taking your hand in his, holding it close to his chest as he looks up at you with hooded eyes.

You only chuckle, rubbing your thumb against the high end of his cheekbone. “I am, baby.”

“What are you waiting for then…” He frowns in his dazed out state. “Come snuggle with me, I missed you.”

You feel his arm slightly cold underneath you, noticing how the lack of a blanket has caused him to huddle up into a ball to preserve his body heat. Silently, you get up from your spot, ignoring the confused whine that leaves Jisung’s lips as you pull the comforter over his body, tucking it under his arms.

His breath evens out once again as you kiss his forehead, leaving the room to quickly change into your pajamas, wash your face and scroll through your phone a bit to shut your alarm off. Because tomorrow is a Sunday, and by family law you’re obligated to not wake up early on a Sunday. Jisung’s rules, not yours.

A quick plop against the mattress, and you shift closer in your position behind Jisung, sneaking into the comforter before throwing an arm and a leg over his body. He only sighs for a second, grasping your hand in his own as he rubs a thumb over the back of your hand absent-mindedly.

“That’s much better.” he whispers, almost melting in your arms when you nuzzle the back of his neck passionately, bringing your free hand to brush through his hair once again. “How was your day, baby?” Your husband spills, and you fight back the wish to poke his soft cheek, for completely self-indulgent purposes. He was gorgeous — and so, so cute. You were bursting at the seams with how soft you were right now, all because of your husband being the softest little baby out there.

The warmth from the comforter and your body is extremely relaxing, and Jisung suddenly feels small beside you. You hum softy, pecking the back of his neck, smiling when you were rewarded with a sleepy, high pitched giggle. “We can talk about that tomorrow, you’re clearly tired and sleepy.”

“Hmm.” Jisung doesn’t question it. He’s been stressed about this comeback to the point where Chan had to send him home early to get some rest. Jisung’s thankful to Chan though, because he absolutely loves being in your arms, especially when you smother him in love and kisses — it relieves his stress like nothing else.

He turns around, letting a slight hum of content slip through his lips as he tries to get as close as he possibly can to your warmth. You watch over him with loving eyes and a bursting heart, sliding your arm down to rest against his soft cheek. His skin feels smooth like silk under your palm. You gently poke his cheek, kissing over the area immediately.

“You’re so pretty.” You know he’s still awake to hear you.

A loud, hearty laugh leaves your lips when Jisung outright blushes, whining like a child as he hides himself into your chest. “It’s too late for this, stop.” He says, looking up at you with big doe eyes as he pouts. He’s contagious, so contagious. You can still feel the spark you’d felt with him when you’d first met, even after so many years, especially after two years of marriage.

“It’s never too late to call you pretty, baby.” You rub small circles into his shoulders as he whines even louder.

“You’re mean” He humphs.

“You’re pretty.”

“Wha- no,” He drags at the “no” part, but even you know he secretly loves it when you compliment him and baby him like this. It’s not very often you tend to get this soft over your husband, either because you’re always busy or he’s always busy. But no matter what, the both of you make sure to spend at least one time of the day today, be in morning, afternoon, or night.

You don’t day anything besides snickering, tucking him into your embrace as you feel him slightly kiss your collarbones. “I love you baby. M’ sleepy, good night.”

You press your lips chastely to his forehead. “Good night, baby. We can spend the whole day together, tomorrow.”

*sighs*

kuroo insisted that you stay for practice , and after some pestering from him and the rest of the team , you agreed

watching them practice was not what you expected

where was tetsurou kuroo and what did they do to him

you didn’t even recognize your boyfriend as he took his rightful role as captain on the court , helping the others and giving pointers wherever needed

the others fell in place , too — watching everyone practice was totally different to how they acted before

you were actually mesmerized , watching them — you didn’t even realize practice was over until kuroo walked over to you and told you that it was over

“ i-it’s over already ? ”

“ yeah , baby . it’s done . did you enjoy it ? ”

“ yeah . . . yeah , i did . i enjoyed it a lot , actually ! ”

libra sun AND pisces rising - these are both placements/signs that aren't always the best at speaking up for themselves, so the fact that these two work so closely in your chart might suggest that you at times might feel like a pushover in some regards and more passive where maybe you might not actually want to be.

libra mercury - mercury is the planet that kinda rules communication and libra mercuries can really go a number of ways, i think. i think more evolved libra mercuries (evolution in the sense that i am using it means the actual process of you growing up as an individual and developing and coming more into your own/finding your voice) can be excellent communicators; diplomatic and respectful, patient, well-spoken, and in a sense can be pretty good, like, flatterers ig? yeah fjgsdjlk your libra mercury could also make you an excellent communicator who doesn't exactly use your abilities for good; you might be very good at manipulation and deceptive language and behavior; be mindful of this if it concerns you!! however, i would say that unevolved libra mercuries might have a really hard time finding their voice because of their tendency to hold back slightly and compromise on expressing themselves for the "peace keeping" aspect of the situation. do not do that!!!! speak your piece!!!!!!!!

libra mercury AND libra sun - i saw a tiktok like yesterday that made such excellent sense when i actually thought about it, and it said that people whose mercury and sun placements are in the same sign (like you!!) tend to be very good at expressing themselves!! which to me makes perfect sense bc like . in keeping w the example ive used a while today, your libra sun, your core/essence/energy, is speaking one language. when it comes to expressing yourself, your libra sun is passing that to your mercury sign so it can handle the communication part; because your mercury is also in libra, this means there won't be any need to "translate" in a sense because your libra mercury speaks the exact same language as your libra sun! (fun fact: i also have my sun and mercury in the same sign dfkjsghl i am an aries sun and mercury which . might explain to some extent why being Assertive and Sticking Up For Myself feels so cathartic when i do it dfsgjfsfldj)

sagittarius moon - i mentioned this in i think another reblog, but again, sag moons are the least "fiery" of the fire signs to me!! quite honestly, they're more of an airy fire sign to me i think in that they're very free spirits and really value independence and the space to explore and have adventures and try new things!! your sag moon might make you a little surprised at times and it might have a little more fire to it than your libra sun/mercury and pisces rising might expect, but it's probably, in a way, protecting you from some sort of stressor you might not be fully cognizant of. i feel like specific triggers that might upset you most are when people are being unfair (a lot of libras have like . diplomatic, fair energy; my libra rising def plays a factor in how i handle conflict in a similar way), specifically some form of biased, if you feel as though someone just Keeps Starting Problems and therefore making your internal role of "peace maker" kick into overdrive, and from your sag moon, you might react very strongly to feeling controlled or trapped in some sense.

capricorn mars - i don't know much of Anything about capricorns but words that do come to mind are Methodical, Logical, and Driven. you might really attempt to rationalize and justify your anger and truly make sure that if you're gonna raise a fuss, it's something worth raising a fuss about !!!

capricorn mars AND libra sun/mercury - these signs could actually be pretty harmonious, i think!! libra is fair and wants to know the whole story, with an unbiased opinion, and capricorn wants to do just that; gather every bit of evidence, analyze it carefully, and then read a bitch dfgkjsdlk you might be the type of person who finds yourself compiling "receipts" against people and situations and maybe even keeping them very organized in a way that makes sense to you. think about it, in a sense, like your libra sun is the big CEO of the company that is you. your libra mercury is kind of your libra sun's right hand man in that your mercury sends out all the official emails and statements/handles the correspondence. think of your capricorn mars as, like, maybe HR...if that makes sense. when there are issues that you feel need to be handled, your capricorn mars HR department is gonna be in charge of getting all the facts and analyzing the situation and bringing said info to your libra sun, who looks over the evidence, makes a final judgment, then gives your libra mercury the go ahead to send out an official statement!! you have the potential to be a very well oiled machine when these three signs come into play with each other!!!

virgo venus - gonna be 100% real with you, my love; i do not know very much about virgo venuses but i will do my best!!!! if i'm not mistaken, virgo in venus isn't actually a super harmonious placement? venus is about peace and love and things like that, whereas virgo is typically more...logical? i would say? it's a far more grounded sign than venus would usually like to have in her orbit djsfgkld think of it kind of as venus being the happy child who just wants to daydream and have good vibes, but virgo is like . the parent who never entertains what they believe to be venus's "nonsense" and would be the type of parent to ruin venus's daydreaming and dream world; for example: the type of parent who would tell their child santa isnt real just to "be realistic" even though their child might be devastated 😭😭😭 virgos do seem as if they could be attracted to intelligence in a sense; wittiness, cleverness, etc. (this...also might play a factor in why you find it attractive when i tell people off dfjkgskdk) and might want to be in a partnership with people they believe they can stand to learn something from!! virgos may be very critical when developing affections–they might be more prone to getting "the ick" from people or just having what others may consider Very High Standards–but once they're in love, they're usually there to stay !!! virgos are very loyal lovers and can be very protective of their lover and might really like to be in a partnership where, again, they can learn from one another, but also protect each other. virgo in venus might really benefit from a more patient lover because they might initially have a hard time expressing/coming to terms with their feelings!! OKAY ummmm about cusps; i don't know !!! i think that personally i would be more inclined to go with whichever placement resonates best, which is most likely going to be your actual calculated sun sign! cusps are kinda wishy washy so i don't rly know much about them :((( i'm sorry abt that, my love!!!
