some more on Jango
so like survivors guilt is a pretty key part of my view of jango. i think that in surviving, first his parents and sister (as far as he knew), then Jaster, then the rest of the Haat’Mandoade, and this all happening in really short sucession followed by a majorly traumatic few years when he’s in slavery, would mean that he doesnt really get a chance to process any of his grief. he’s getting all those normal irrational thoughts all of us get when we lose someone (could i have saved them, what could i have done differently, what if i’d gone in their place) but just isnt given any space to work through them, which i think would result in him clinging on to some of them and them kind of getting magnified, and almost mutating in to something even more harmful that he carries for all of those years.
so the thing about this survivors guilt is i like to think that he has this idea that by surviving, he has stolen the life from them. had he died on the farm, maybe his sister would have survived. had he gone in jasters place, maybe jaster would have survived, and he’s convinced, convinced, that this survival is wasted on him. he isnt a good person. had one of them survived, they would have done great things. but all he’s good for is getting people around him killed. i think by the time he gets off the spice ship, he is beginning to see his constant ability to survive against the odds, as something of a curse. he’s cursed to watch everyone around him die, every time.
he considers himself to be half dead and because he believes this, he doesnt consider himself to have the kind of life that he might control. he doesnt get wants, he doesnt get to choose how things go, its just about seeking this vengance for those that did die, as way of apology for having survived them. her has so much choice, and we see him make the worst ones time and time again, but i dont believe he really considered himself to have any say in any of it. he should have died all those years ago, but he didnt so now he’s just waiting for the inevitable, he’s waiting for fate to finally catch up to him, once it’s done torturing him by killing everyone else first.
he doesnt think he has a choice, so theres no real accountability there for what he does. he doesnt think this is a mission he’s chosen, rather, its the only way he can do right by the dead and so, he is ruthless in his execution. all the love he had for them is fed in to this violence as he sees ‘their deed’ done. but obviously. they are gone. whatever he might think, it is jango calling the shots. nobody asked him to do any of this, he just decided.
i think that Boba comes from a moment of weakness, and from there, a spiral of many more. he doesnt think that he gets to want things. but he asks for Boba and once he has him he cant let go. i think that the idea of loving someone scares him, Boba is only another person he can potentially lose. he’d sworn to never love again and yet, here he is with Boba and now he has him, he can’t possibly give him up.
i think that in a way, jango always knew that he was going to die. he was mixed up in the kind of thing that no person survives. he was a loose end and he was far too intelligent not to realise that.i dont think that he saw any alternative to him dying and i dont think he necessarily grieved the fact that he was leaving Boba alone. i think for Jango, he didnt think he was particularily good for Boba, he just wasnt strong enough to let him go. people that jango loves die, so i think that he would consider dying first, to be the only way he could save Boba. i think that he would consider his own death being the only way he could set Boba free, as to walk away from a love he considered selfish, would take a strength that he didnt believe himself to have.
i think that by the time he dies, this whole world view he’s build up is crumbling around him. because his love for Boba, serves as a conflict when it comes to the belief that he is a dead man walking, a ghost. after being recruited as the template, he builds himself a maze of rational as for how he is doing the right thing, the only thing, how he has no choice, but i think that as the years go on its getting harder and harder to maintain that. it cant last forever and trying to keep it all standing, trying to maintain that suspense of belief, is tiring. he knows it cant last and so in a way, he welcomes death. its been a long time coming.

Precipice (Or: I could love you)
Out of the depths of my brine pool I come baring an actual, honest to God fanfic. And a smut one at that. 2020 is full of surprises.
Thank you @soulswimmr keeping my soul tethered to this mortal plane and for prof reading this fic.
Fandom: Satan and Me -- Pairing: GabeMike -- Words: 5510 (and no its not 10 pages of intercourse there are other things that happen)
If I had a AO3 account I would tag this fic as: Explicit! Panic attack tw, anxiety and depression tw, messy feelings, Hurt/Comfort, porn with plot, First times, cis gay sex, under negotiated kinks, (as in *slaps roof of fanfic* this baby can fit SO MUCH under negotiated kinks) light Bondage, light impact play, Dom/Sub tendencies, aftercare. yeehaw.
Summery: Michael accidentally confesses his love to Gabriel. Putting it lightly, it doesnt go well. But then Gabe shows up later that day and makes amends. (they boink)
Edit - 9/29 (michaelmas) Added a NSFW pic inspired by the fic (at the bottom)
Michael had no idea how he got here.
Well, no, of course he did; he was there when it happened. But to say that the day began with him nearly falling over the edge into despair to having Gabriel grinding up against him, pressing hot kisses to his neck and chest, toying with his body… well no one could have possible seen that coming. Except God, but he wasn’t really thinking of Him at this time.
Theres no way to track how This started. It could go back way before the Fall, to when Michael was first discovering that he liked Gabriel more than others. But that was normal, right? People had their favorites so why was this any different? Just because he leaned in closer whenever Gabriel spoke, or found him smiling like the sun whenever Gabe leaned up against him while they were on break, didn’t mean it was anything special. Besides, Gabriel had Anthea. Gabriel didn’t know he had Anthea at first, but Michael wasnt that blind. So he didn’t say anything to dissuade Gabriel from going after her. He didn’t encourage it either, though. Even after the Fall, he didn’t say anything, he himself just lost Lucifer so any chastising or encouragement would have been hypocritical, but eventually he’d thought that Gabriel would let go of her.
He never did though. And Michael never got rid of his feeling for Gabriel either. It grew, in fact. Slowly, like a vine coming around to choke the statues in the gardens, wholly unnoticed until there is nothing to do about it. Every laugh, ever tired roll of the eyes, every unexpected yawn would bring about a new leaf that would suffocate Michael if he wasn’t already doing everything he could to push his feelings down. He didn’t have time for whatever he felt for Gabriel. There were things to do on the surface, troops to train in Heaven and he, being the one on the pedestal, had to be perfect. And feelings were messy.
The point is, as much as he wanted to run his fingers through Gabriel’s curly red hair and kiss him on warm summer nights, he couldn’t do it. Would never do it.
And then the prophecy child came along. The end officially started, Michael got stabbed by his sister, contracted to a human, poisoned by his brother, sold off as a bartering chip to War, lost his physician, pulled some strings and brought a spirit back to earth, pulled some more strings to keep Gabriel from getting to irreversible trouble (but still had him sent to the tank for two weeks), finally saw God after years of radio silence, met his literal doppelganger, got formerly-mentioned-brother’s wings sent to him as sick gift and, quite frankly, was at the end of his rope. Everything was just happening too fast and no one seemed to care. The air was tight whenever he was with the other Archangels. It felt like he didn’t really know any of them anymore. Not even Gabriel, though his heart begged for that not to be the case.
Oh, right. Anthea had also died. So there’s that too. See? Messy.
All of that was basically to say, that when Gabriel made the snide comment that he, Michael, couldn’t possible know what it was like to truly love someone other than himself (which wasn’t even true, Michael did, in fact, hate himself immensely) Michael wasn’t planning to confirm or deny it.  However, after the initial shock – Did Gabriel really think him that heartless? – and feeling everyone’s eyes on him – all the other archangels were in the room, plus some other guards – he did answer. It came out like a holy confession, a whisper accompanied by searing hot tears.
I love you. He said.
Michael couldn’t breathe in the silence that followed, which made Gabriel’s laugh, a cruel sounding thing, even harder to take. Michael choked on air and when Gabriel turned to leave, but when he made to follow, maybe to explain himself more? To apologize? Anything but be alone with his thoughts or worse, alone in a room full of people, Gabriel slapped him.
Gabriel said something to him, but he didn’t catch it. All he felt was stinging on his cheek and embarrassment crushing his chest. Michael didn’t know how long he stood there, cradling his face and trying to think, but not comprehending anything around him, but eventually his brain caught up and he realized he did not want to be in that room right then. So, he ran.
--
Raphael had taught him some breathing techniques to help with panic attacks, but he couldn’t remember them. He guessed he actually had to breathe for them, which he wasn’t doing. All he was doing was sitting in a ball on the floor of his room trying to crush his feeling out. How typical of him, really, to fuck everything up. Now what? He had just cut ties with the only other person he felt a true connection with and now he was well and truly going to die lonely when The End came. That was always the plan; a murder suicide with Lucifer, but he’d thought there would be some pride when he went? Someone who he was fighting for? He didn’t know. He did know it was all his fault. Everything was his fault, no matter who he assigned blame to.
When he finally stopped crying, Michael sat very still. The apathy that came after such a strong release was always welcome. He breathed. And then he got up, washed his face and then went to his personal office to get some work done. He was nothing if not a good angel. Perfect in the eyes of the public.
Numb to everything that wasn’t directly in front of him, Michael actually got a lot done. The shuffling of paper and scratching of his pen was a pleasant relief compared to the chaos of his own thoughts that he was used to. He didn’t even hear the door to his office open, didn’t feel the presence of someone else in the room until they came to where he was organizing paperwork into the proper bins and gently grabbed both of his arms.
Oh, Michael could recognize Gabriel’s hands anywhere. They were hands he trusted completely with everything from a nice manicure to executing an offender of the faith. The only problem was he didn’t know what Gabriel was going to do with those hands. So, he stood completely still at Gabriel’s mercy for the second time that day.
“Turn around.” Gabriel said, taking the rest of the files from Michael and tossing them out of reach. Michael couldn’t discern anything from his voice, really only comprehending that he was very close to his ears, so, he did what he was told.
“Look at me.” he said next, as Michael found the trinkets on his desk a better study. When he didn’t listen, Gabe let go of the shelving he was pining him to and put one hand on the side of his face. It didn’t take a lot of pressure to tilt his head so their eyes met. It frightened Michael to see how stormy Gabriel’s eyes were. Dark, alluring, and troubled were not something he’d normally say about Gabriel, but now only those words applied. There was something else too, his jaw was clenched, as if he were holding his tongue, or arguing with himself.
Michael never got the chance to ask about it, because Gabriel leaned in, parted his lips, closed his eyes and kissed him.  The fog of apathy flushed out of him immediately and he felt everything; the warmth of Gabe’s hands on his cheek, the way his other hand lifted from the table and came to rest on his waist, the smooth silk of his own clothes against his body, heat coming from everywhere and, oh lord, his lips. The clouds couldn’t compare to the softness of Gabe’s lips on his, he could spend an eternity in this moment and it would never be enough.
The kiss (they’re first kiss), of course, did not last an eternity. It was only when Gabe moved away from him that Michael realized he didn’t close his eyes, or move towards him or do… anything. Kisses always looked magnetic, so why didn’t it fix everything between them? Michael felt a knot forming in his stomach and it only grew heavier as Gabe opened his eyes to gauge his reaction.
They were still standing so close that their breaths were shared. So, Michael only had to whisper when he said;
“I don’t understand.”
“Do you want to?” Gabe quipped back, tilting his head to the side. He was being completely serious.
“Wh-What?” He really wished his eyes were the bright emerald green they were usually.
Gabe’s grip on Michael’s waist tightened and the storm behind his eyes grew. “Do you want to understand?”
Of course he did. His cheek still burned from where Gabe hit him and the shaking anxiety from his panic attack never left completely, if he understood then maybe they really could make this work. Whatever this could be. Or he could fuck it up.
“No.” He said, and closed the gap between them.
Almost immediately he was shoved back into the shelving with Gabe’s hands clawing at his skin and teeth biting his lips. Heat rushed through his entire body as Gabe pressed up against him, ground up against him leaving his full intent out into the open.
God, since when could he move like that? Michael thought as he opened his mouth and let Gabriel’s tongue meet his own. Gabe’s piercing clicked on his teeth, setting off another wave of heat down his spine. He’d always wondered what it would be like to feel Gabe’s piercing in his mouth. One of his own hands slipped behind Gabe’s chiton and laid flat against his chest while the other raked through his hair. He almost wished Gabriel hadn’t cut his hair short, he would have love to pull on the curls, but the deep moan that came out of him made up for it.
Gabriel’s tongue was on his lips, and then his lips were on his jaw, kissing a line up and then down his neck, Michael could barely catch his breath, the way he gasped at every press of his mouth on sensitive skin. Even when Gabe slowed down to focus on a spot at the base of his neck, Michael didn’t complain, especially as Gabe’s leg pressed in between his own. Michael didn’t realize how hot his body felt, certainly didn’t realize how hard he was, how hard both of them were, but it was all he could think about as Gabe’s hands slid lower and started groping his ass, gathering the fabric of his skirt between his fingers.
Humans always made this stuff look strange, Michael didn’t get all the moaning and begging and crying out. The ‘losing control’ part never made sense to him either, but there was nothing controlled about the sounds he made now; broken whispers begging to be understood as wanting more. He wanted more of this, whatever this ended up being and he wanted Gabriel there to guide him through it all.
Naturally, that’s when Gabriel pulled away. Michael didn’t think he could fall for him anymore, but the vines he always compared his love to bloomed in such a vivid way. The messed up hair, the dilated pupils, the reddened lips, the way he dragged his eyes down every inch of him; it could have destroyed him and made him whole all at once.
“Tonight.” Gabe said. “I’ll meet you in your room.” It wasn’t a question, but it wasn’t a statement either.
“Yes.” He nodded, but when he felt Gabriel leaning away from him, asked “But why?”
He straightened himself up, making eye contact as he grazed his crotch and nodded towards his desk. “You still have work to do.”
--
The afternoon passed as quickly as he’d expected it to, which is not very quick at all. After getting himself fixed up, Michael found he could not possibly focus on anything other than events prior. It didn’t matter what he put in front of himself, all he could think about was how this whole thing wasn’t good. It’s exactly want he wanted in his deepest and most sinful dreams; a physical relationship with his millennia-long love—but he’d only let himself pin for a romantic one, chaste save for a few kisses. They both were angels after all. This… This wasn’t even love, he thought. Especially not in the way silence grew serious between them when they parted. Lovers didn’t do that… they talked at the very least.
No. This was lust. And he found that he was ok with it… he wanted to be ok with it.
Eventually he got up and left his office. The empty hallways of his home echoing his footsteps, he tried not to think about it. He paced around his room a bit, wishing Gabriel had been more exact about ‘tonight.’ Did he mean at sunset? Or closer to midnight? Were they just… going to get straight to it? Or… what? Was Michael expecting to be taken out on a date? Please. Gabe was probably just going to get off and then leave. He would be lucky if it was a mutual thing.
Still, he couldn’t stop thinking. How would it happen? Was he expected to do anything? How did Gabriel know how to move his body like that? Eventually, just about when he thought he’d lose it, Michael caved and looked up what to expect.
The internet was, as usual, very helpful, but by the end of his searching his mind was even more frayed than before. He decided to take a shower. A long one just to calm himself down and … maybe to… test some of the things he read.
By the time Gabriel arrived, Michael had taken a long shower, dried and dressed himself and even put on what he hoped was subtle perfume and straightened up his room. Everything was, hopefully, perfect. He was halfway through setting up two glasses of wine --because he did keep wine in his room now-- when the knock came.
“Come in,” He said casually, almost forgetting the situation they were in.
He heard the door open and close, but there came no greeting, so when Michael turned around to make sure he wasn’t dreaming, he was surprised to find Gabriel outright staring at him. He looked the same as he did before, except now he carried a bag with him. Michael, however, did dress up. Or down. It depends on how you look at it. He still wore his chiton, but in a more traditional way that showed off more of his chest and thighs. He also wasn’t wearing anything underneath.
He swallowed and turned back to the wine, wishing his body didn’t blush so much under Gabriel’s intense stare. But he faced it again, this time with a bottle of wine in his hands.
“I thought that we could have a drink?” His voice faltered and he stood rather awkwardly and small.
That seemed to break Gabe out of his trance. He dropped off his bag on the bed and approached him with an even gaze. Stopping right in front of him, he took the bottle from his hands and set it down.
“No… No more wine.” He said in that deep tone that put butterflies in his stomach. Upon seeing his reaction, Gabe added, “I’d rather have you right now.”
And to that Michael could only say one thing.
“Please.”
--
And now here they were, Gabriel leaving bite marks and hickeys on his neck while he pushed up against him so that every nerve was on fire, begging for more. Michael twisted and strained on the ropes tying his wrists to the bedposts, trying to catch his breath. But whenever he did manage a moment clarity, Gabriel would do something else to make him jump and moan beneath him. He was playing with his nipples now and dragging his fingernails down his sides. He still hadn’t taken off his clothes yet, but by now they might as well be ruined, soaked through with each other’s sweat and precum. Michael moaned again as Gabe slapped his thighs, by now he wasn’t afraid of being loud, he wanted Gabe to know exactly what he felt.
“Please.” He begged again, not expecting an answer but praying for one anyway. His legs shook underneath Gabe’s firm hands as he kept them pressed to the bed, no matter how many times he coaxed Gabe forward, to rub their cocks together, for any friction at all, he still denied him.
“Please, what?” he said into his ear, “Aren’t I giving you everything you want?” The honey in his voice made Michael shiver.
“Yes, God yes! But please… fuck- please touch me. I need you.” He captured his lips again for a messy kiss.
Gabe pulled away. “Greedy, much?” He kissed a line down his body, then above his navel, “You really are a whore.”
Michael gasped as the sash at his hips was untied and thrown aside. His whole body throbbed with need at the silent promise. “Only for you.”
Gabe lifted the remaining fabric and breathed in the wet spot where his precum soaked through. “Is that so? All of this is for me?” He gently pulled the fabric away from his body, finally leaving Michael bare and spread wide for him. His dick fully erect, leaking and red, begging for release by any means.
Michael shifted under his gaze, looking down on him like he owned him. He only hoped he looked as beautifully desperate as Gabriel did. “Of course.”
Gabe nodded and took off the rest of his own clothes. His hands traveled up and down his glistening tan body, fulfilling a desire that Michael wished he could do instead. How many times had Michael wanted to run his fingers up and down the curves of Gabriel’s toned body? He couldn’t remember at that moment. If he didn’t like his wrists being tied up so much, he might have asked to be untied.
When he got to his dick though, he only traced light lines with his fingertips, moaning and biting his lips in pure ecstasy. It was a sight to behold, the lines of precum hanging on his fingers, the trail of ginger hair cropping his dick. ‘Heavenly’ could hardly cover it.
Michael let out a groan and Gabe stopped, a ghost of a smile on his lips.
“My eyes are up here.”
“Fuck me already.”
That earned him another slap on the inside of his thighs, he bucked and noted the way his cock bounced in the air. Did everything have to be so erotic? Gabriel reached back to the bag he brought, the one that also had the rope, and pulled out a small bottle of lube and a condom. Now that they were on track, Gabe wasted no time in slicking his fingers up, propping up Michael’s legs and sliding said fingers up and down his ass, even grabbing his balls for good measure. Michael thought about biting into his own arm to stop from crying out too loud, but instead just lifted his legs higher. The house was empty anyway.
Gabe let out a satisfying hum and pressed a finger inside him. It felt as strange as it did when he practiced in the shower, but god was it so much better.
“Take deep breaths. I’m just stretching you out now.” He said, smiling to himself and kissing Michael’s calf. “It would be a shame if you finished now.”
“It wouldn’t be my fault. I didn’t know how much you liked teasing.” Or slapping or bondage or powerplay or literally anything. Then again, he himself didn’t realize how much he’d like those things too, much less being on the receiving end. He took a deep breath. And another. Then, the question that was haunting him slipped from his mouth. “How do you know how to do this?” he blurted out.
“Hm?” Gabriel looked away from him, suddenly abashed, as if he wasn’t massaging his asshole for his pleasure and use. “I uh. I watched some videos.”
And to that Michael laughed, more genuine than he had in a while.
“What?” Gabe took the opportunity to insert another finger, stopping his laughter with pain and pleasure. How cruel!
“Nothing! I just…” He turned his head to hide his face in is arms. “I watched some videos too.”
“Really?” The quality in his voice changed. It had been changing from when they made out in his office to now… it felt like they were talking normally with each other, like friends… or, well, like lovers. It helped that he was smiling now, not quite a joyful or mischievous smile, but a quaint one. As if they both were taking each other in with a new light.
“Yeah… I practiced some too.” He could share that, right?
“Oh… did you…?”
“No. I was… saving that for you.”
“Oh.” Was all he said, hiding his quiet delight behind adding in another finger inside of him.
They stayed like that for a while, Gabe stretching him out gently while Michael sighed and kept his breathing relaxed. Gabe never pushed his fingers in deep, even though Michael thrusted his thighs up, trying to convince Gabe to finger fuck him a little. After a few minutes, Michael was craving for something thicker and longer. Even so, he was not ready for how cold, empty and gapping he’d feel when Gabe’s fingers left him.
“Ready?” Gabe asked as he slid the condom on and poured more lube onto his hand. He bit his swollen lips and he slicked up his shaft; he wasn’t the only one that was denied.
“More than.” He angled himself up more and welcomed Gabe’s steady hand bracing on his red thighs. There was a moment of blissful silence as Gabe lined himself up, only broken by the feeling on his head pressing up against his hole and pushing in. They both moaned.
Gabe was gentle going in, pushing forward and pulling back bit by bit. His whole body jerked as he guessed his prostate was hit, he read that it felt like sparks shooting across the body and by God was that right. He rocked his hips up even harder now. Michael had never felt so full, never felt the need to be, but when Gabe bottomed out and rutted against his hips, he felt as if he’d need this the rest of his life. Is this what it felt like to be truly connected? To be full and content with your lover? It felt cheesy to even think, but he imagined soulmates felt like this.
Michael moaned even louder as Gabe pulled halfway out and slid down faster. Again and again he felt sparks as his lover’s wet hips slammed into his own. The noises they made were obscene and only made worse when Gabe leaned over him to get a better angle. Now he could feel Gabe’s hot breath on his face and see just how gone he was, which made the heat pooling in his own stomach twist and flood his senses. This was started to be too much.
“Touch me!” He begged, straining on his wrists again. “Oh, please I want to come. Please let me come.” He had to have this, he’d waited so long; Michael needed this.
“Oh fuck.” Gabe moaned and leaned down to bite at his neck once more. “Beg for me. I’m so close.”
“Please, Gabriel, I wanna… I wanna feel you come inside me, I want your hands pumping my dick until I scream. I want you. I need you Please. Please. Please!”
Michael’s breathy cries grew more erratic along with Gabriel’s pace. The wet slapping of skin filled the room until Gabe cried out and shook with his orgasm. Michael pushed up against him, writhing around his partner’s twitching cock, until Gabe collapsed onto him and gasping for breath, oversensitive and spent.
“Fuck.” He gasped as he lifted himself up and crashed his mouth on Michael’s. His lips screamed desperation. His hands trembled as he grabbed Michael’s cock and pumped at a horrifically fast pace. Michael gasped against his mouth and bucked, arching his back as much as he could. When his orgasm hit, he froze, coming quickly in Gabe’s hand before opening his eyes again and melting into the bed. Only then did Gabe slide out of him and collapse. He couldn’t breathe for a moment, and then the only thing he could do was breathe. His mind and body spent.
They laid together for a few minutes, Gabe resting on top of him, both of them basking in the afterglow. Michael felt sticky and sore and empty but didn’t feel like moving, and honestly, if they laid like that for the rest of the night, he would be completely fine with that.
As if reading his thoughts, Gabriel kissed his jaw and lifted himself up. How he went from blitzed out to composed Michael couldn’t guess, but he noted the way Gabe still trembled. “We should… clean up.” He emphasized this by taking his hand—still covered in Michael’s cum – and dragged his tongue up his index finger. He made a face and shrugged, “It doesn’t taste that good.”
Michael huffed. “I’m sorry I’m not made of sugar.”
“Hm. But those noises you made were so sweet.”
Michael rolled his eyes. “Untie me, please.” He didn’t thing he could play anymore games.
“Just a second.” He peeled off the condom and made to get off the bed.
“Where are you going?” A bolt of dread shot up his spine; he wasn’t leaving, was he? Not tied up to the bed and out in the open?
“Bathroom, Michael. Getting a towel and washing my hands. Also, you’re sticky.”
“And whose fault is that?” he tried shove his anxiety back into its box.
He didn’t get a reply, just a hum and a good view of Gabe’s back side as he walked to the room adjacent and cleaned himself up. He wasn’t even out of sight, keeping the bathroom door wide open, but Michael still felt tendrils of doubt writhe in his chest.
He put on a smile as he walked back holding two warm towelette—because yes, Michael had towelettes on hand. They’re nice to have— He was still surprised when Gabriel cleaned him instead of just untying his wrists and letting him handle his own ‘sticky’ body. Somehow this seemed more intimate than what they just finished doing, especially how gentle Gabe lifted his legs to get a better angle. The warm towel felt wonderful on his abused butt and dick, more so than he thought it would. After getting his lower half he used the other towelette to press on his neck, which had much the same effect. Michael didn’t think that a warm towelette would make the deep bite marks and bruises heal right away, but it was like a gentle kiss. He didn’t think Gabe would be so kind to him.
“Whats wrong, Michael?” Gabe’s calm voice cut through the silence. He didn’t meet his eyes as he asked.
What should he say to that? Everything was wrong, they just—they just had sex! They didn’t even talk about it before hand they just… did it! And this morning he was pretty sure Gabe hated him and Michael… he didn’t know what he wanted to do with anything. No one could find out, he was sure of that… but did that mean he had to forget this whole night happened? All in all his life was falling apart! He didn’t want to push his last lifeline away.
“I’m fine.” He smiled. He tried not to panic as the mood shifted over Gabriel. He could see the clouds over his eyes again. Shit shit shit of course he’d ruin it. “I-“ He started, frantically thinking about what would make this right. “I just want you to stay.” Pathetic.
That seemed to work, though it hurt to say, but he didn’t get an answer right away. Instead, Gabe moved up to his arms and finally undid the rope. Michael hissed as he moved his freed wrists again.
“Oh, I brought something for that.” Gabe said, reaching for his bag once again. He produced a bottle of lotion and applied some to his hands before taking one of Michael’s and massaging it. It felt good, though much like the towel still at his neck, he didn’t think it would do much. They fell into a lull again. Michael felt as if he could fall sleep, if not for the unanswered question weighing on his mind.
“What do you want to do with the cover?”
“Hm?”
“The duvet is… wet.”
“Oh… just throw it to the ground, I’ll clean it tomorrow.” Or he’ll just burn it, whatever.
“Ok.” Gabe let go of his hands and began to pull back the blanket beneath them. Ideally, they should have taken it off beforehand, but they weren’t really thinking logically then, just about how to make each other shake with pleasure. Michael sat up and helped kick the thick blanket to the ground. His ass hurt and his whole body was sore, scratched up and bruised, but at least he was clean-ish. He had honestly never felt so… exhausted before. Satisfied but still so wanting. Maybe he was a selfish whore. He pulled back more blankets from the front of the bed and crawled underneath him, not caring to put on clothes or turn off the dim lights still illuminating his room.
He closed his eyes and tried to focus on the heaviness he felt all around him versus the sounds of Gabriel sliding off the bed and walking away. It didn’t really work, he still felt hot tears behind his eyes and tried biting the inside of his lip to keep from making noise. If Gabriel wanted to leave, then who was he to stop him? He knew this wasn’t good. He should be happy that he got to have sex with him at all. A check off the bucket list and all that.
But he didn’t leave. Michaels eyes snaped open as he felt a thumb wipe away his tears. Gabe was hovering above him, looking somewhere between tired and concerned; he’d just turn off the lights. Michael wanted to laugh because of how ridiculous he was being. Or cry.
But he didn’t. He shifted over and let Gabriel slide under the covers with him. It was awkward, they were both naked and wasn’t sure how get comfortable like this, but they soon settled down where Michael was laying on Gabe’s chest and they were tracing shapes on each other’s arms.
He was about to drift off when Gabe muttered, half to himself, “I could love you.”
That didn’t feel as bad as it could to Michael. “That’s all I need.” His words slurred together before he dropped into darkness. He’ll deal with everything else tomorrow.
--
Gabriel didn’t know why he did this anymore than Michael probably did. All Gabe wanted was a release, something he thought he could only have with Anthea. A stress reliever, maybe. A good fuck before the world went to shit. He tried to ignore the darker thoughts he had that day, where he pushed Michael over the edge and left him to shatter on the ground. Or the ones where he’d hurt Michael outright to finally get across all of the hurt he’d experienced at his now-lover’s hands. But there was something—a spark? – when they kissed, and a shift when they actually talked to each other. No masks, no pretenses. Just feelings; whatever they happened to be.
And Gabe remembered how Michael used to be. Fun, genuine, loving. He remembered the quiet nights where they watched the sky and how Michael would, very obviously, check him out. The way he always seemed to prefer either him or Lucifer. This whole thing was ridiculous; of course Michael loved him, it was so obvious. So why did Gabe react like that this morning? He didn’t know. He didn’t want to think about it anymore than he already had.
Gabe wasn’t lying when he said he could love him, but he wouldn’t lie and say that he loved him now. His heart was recently broken and, the tattoo of Anthea’s name was barely over a month old. Before today, he believed it too soon for anything new. Obviously, another part of him disagreed, but he would save those thoughts for another time. Gabriel kissed Michael’s head and fell asleep with him in his arms. He’ll have to see what the next day brought.

RAD Student Files: Lucifer, The Celestial Realm’s Bastard Pride
before i start the post, Thank you guys for the support^^ it really means alot. and im going to go very in depth with these post, so i decided to make each brother have their own spotlight by making it individual post.
also i apologize in advance if i cant joke around much with these post hehe^^;
Spoiler warnings, so you have been warned!
 Background and Origin:
Lucifer,as famous as he is right now. With the Netflix show and other representations of him throughout history, his name has only been mentioned once in the bible.
“ How art thou fallen from Heaven, O Lucifer, Son of the Morning,” (Isiah 14:12 King James Version)
this simple line was said to actually be a foreshadowing of the fall of the King of Babylon, Nebuchadrezzar . Some say it is alluding to the fall of a Pheonician God, Helal who sought after the Chief God’s throne and fell (pretty similar eh? actually dfq too similar) .
some say that Lines from Ezekiel might be marking a prophecy of Lucifer’s faith  (Ezekiel 28: 11-19 , the passage is alittle too long, so if you want to see it just search that up), the passage speaks about King Tyre and what his pride did to him not only that but the passage then goes to mention “ the Anointed Cherub”. This is said by Jonathan Edwards, a Philosophical Theologian is a reference to Lucifer; as Lucifer was made highest of the angels, not only this but is said to be the closest to the throne of God.
Now, who and what is Helal? the actual Hebrew text has the name “Helal”( which still meant Morning star) instead of Lucifer. both do mean the same thing, an Astrological Phenomenon.
the actual name of Lucifer came from the Latin Vulgate version of the Bible.Lucifer, which meant “Light Bearer” and was directly connected to the Planet Venus. As the bible gets translated over and over again, this later turned Lucifer instead of being just a figure of speech, became an individual being. most of the stories about Lucifer are taken from Poetic literature about the bible  and legends.
there are many interpretations to the fall of Lucifer( the Anointed Cherub), so i will give the most well known and then briefly touch upon the other interpretations.
Lucifer, before his fall was said to be God’s most perfect creation, a Cherub ( some would disagree and say a seraph, but more on that later) whose beauty was unmatched, whose knowledge was above those of his kind; God gave him knowledge that only Lucifer can have. second only to the father himself.he was the leader of the angels but, he grew in pride and decided that being second to the father is not enough. that he has to be equal--no greater than the father. With this, he waged war that caused great chaos throughout heaven. Michael (in some accounts, Gabriel) the archangel second to him lead the army that counters his and was able to defeat him and cast him and those who sided with him out of Heaven. following the Book of Revelations, it is also accounted that third of the angels in Heaven fell with Lucifer.
as he was cast into the Abyss, he is to bound there until the day of Judgement, but with his despise of God, he then goes to the mortal world to tempt and torment the Father’s most beloved creation, Humans. he does this so that he can acquire their souls and keep them away from God( this was stated in the Apocrypha, Enoch). it is said that he appears as a beautiful innocent child and uses this form to easily tempt humans to follow his words.
some interpretations state that the reason for Lucifer’s rebellion is because, God made another being, Jesus, who was Higher than him. as Lucifer only is near the throne of God, Jesus is to sit on the throne with God for all eternity. which infuriated Lucifer.
and in some interpretations, it is said that God permitted Lucifer to be able to tempt humans. and in some Gnostic Christian Sects they believe that Lucifer isn’t even evil, but the first-born of God who is to save humanity with his gift of Knowledge.
Jonathan Edwards, even goes as far as to say the fall of Lucifer to him pleases God, as his fall is for the greatness of God that is to come.
Lucifer in the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the mage, Lucifer is stated to be one of the four Principal spirits. in the True keys of Solomon, Lucifer is identified to be one of the three demons who can command all others of his kind, he is said to rule over demons in Europe and Asia ; the other two demons who have the same authority is Beezlebub and Astaroth . as for other legends, they state that Lucifer is the Consort of Lilith ( weird but okay?). according to Peter Binsfield, Lucifer represents the Sin of Pride; to note, it is said that Pride is the King of all sins, which seems fitting for Lucifer. He is also the Opposing force to Saint John the Baptist.  in the Friar Rush, Lucifer is said to be the “ Prince of Gluttony” .
as for Lucifer’s position in hell, there is some debate over it, on one side it is said that Lucifer is the emperor of Hell, with Satan being second to him and Beezlebub third to him. for some Demonographers, Lucifer is a great Lover of justice in Hell.  and the other side, it is said that it is either Satan or Beezlebub.
So How does it show in the game?
Lucifer in the game is well known as the loyal right hand of Diavolo ( the devil?). He is obedient to Diavolo’s wishes and does everything he can to make sure no one opposes him, even his brothers. this is quite different from the things mentioned above. Lucifer is supposed to be the highest one in Hell, he was able to even rebel against Heaven for it, yet here he is...serving a Demon?
Lucifer is shown to be a sadistic, strict, over bearing, secretive, but caring(?) sibling. he shows to be dealing with alot of problems with the past especially concerning Lilith.
(the sadistic side could be a reference to how he loves to torture and torment humans. just a guess)
the game seems to take liberty of taking shifting and twisting the origins to make a more human Lucifer, his story is also very similar to what his origins state.
but, the thing i want to focus on is Lucifer’s model, in the game he is stated to be seraphim, an angel that has 6 wings( this information was given by Luke during Chapter 5),  but his model only goes to show 4. now, in the information above, Lucifer is said to be a Cherub, so whats with that?
to be technical, Cherubs are angels of Knowledge, which for others means, his sin is caused by his knowledge. Seraphims are angels of Charity, while they are the highest choir, if you try to connect it with his sin, it doesn’t match. but, since the game used the Seraphim interpretation so we’ll go with that.
Lucifer is also shown to have dark hair and his wings have turned black, modern interpretations do this as to show his turn to the darkness, but some interpret it as the result of Lucifer’s wings being burned. his character model shows him with only 4 wings, so where’s the 3rd pair? most likely burned off during his fall to the Devildom , or they were burned during the Celestial war. and the implications that Micheal did it might be likely, since his origins states that Micheal was the one to defeat Lucifer and His army.
Diavolo when he gushes about Lucifer, he always goes on about how Lucifer was so bright and blinding, which could be a reference to his name as Light Bearer.
in regards to Lucifer’s relationship with Lilith, During chapter 5, we were able to find out about that Belphie, Beel, Lilith, and Lucifer used to be very close. hoping this game doesnt take the incest route, we can say that Lucifer and Lilith are just very close siblings rather than the original interpretation that He is a Consort of Lilith. much of the lore is still in the making, so most of the things are just possibilities.
ps. i hope you guys enjoyed reading this very long post ❤❤❤,sorry for taking a while to post :< school’s been taking up alot of my schedule so the time window for researching has been hard to manage. but enough about that, if you have any information you want to share that i wasnt able to include or you want to correct some things, please feel free to comment it :3

Season 2 Shenanigans
AHEYYY sO I went on a giant Knight Rider binge the last few days, and I've FINALLY seen all of Season 2!!  Big thank you to @trust-doesnt-oxidize who watched with me and stayed up absurdly late because I wanted to see Garthe before I went to bed AIDBWJFNEM
I just wanted to post a quick reaction to all of the episodes, spoiler warning activated!
Goliath Parts 1 & 2
I LOVE MY DOOFY VILLAIN SON. K.I.T.T. is HILARIOUS, I love his dynamic with Goliath, as is evident by my handle oops- I hate how Season 2 starts with my son almost dying tho, almost had a heart attack tyvm! This is back before I knew anything about the direction of the rest of the series so I was legitimately in shock lmbo- Moustache Michael is a gem tho I love him. I SURE HOPE HE STAYS A DUMB VILLAIN WHO'S JUST REALLY SILLY TO WATCH. SURE HOPE THEY DON'T TAKE HIM TOO SERIOUSLY.
Brother's Keeper - Blind Spot
I- forgot that these episodes existed until I looked at the episode list for this, soooo...
I should really not be lazy and look up an episode summary and try to remember what I thought of these but the problem is that I am in fact going to be lazy because this post is already taking so long
Return to Cadiz
This episode is so,,, frustrating.  Not the plot or the format or anything like that, nono... I mean how they essentially introduced April.  Like, okay, I know that she has been here since the beginning of Season 2, but she hadn’t really said much up until now.  This was where we really got to know who she would be, and, uh... After this episode, I absolutely hated her.  Despised even.  She forces my son to go drive on the same ocean on the same beach where Karr DIED without any testing beforehand AND is chastising Michael in a flirtatious way.  The heCK is this woman?!  WHERE’S MY BONNIE???!!!  I was so mad at her you guys I.  But the thing is, I don’t hate April, not by a long shot.  In some ways, the rest of Season 2 does a better job giving her a character than all of Season 1 did for Bonnie!  I really enjoyed April and wish that both could have stayed.  BUT THIS EPISODE makes her SO HATEABLE and I just ugh.
also I tried to watch this a long time before I got to and after seeing the intro and not knowing the title of K.I.T.T. vs. K.A.R.R. at that point in time, I thought Karr was gonna come back based on all the panoramic shots of the underwater and I am so sad that he didn’t so oops this episode gets my wrath a bit
K.I.T.T. the Cat
0/10 there are no cats.  False advertising.
Seriously tho this episode was a pretty run of the mill episode.  The best part of the episode was Kitt, because it always is, but seriously that guy with the hedges was amazing- I GOT THE GAG BY THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENED BUT THE FIRST TIME HE GOT STUCK IN THE TREE OH MY GOSH I WAS DY I N G- Also the fact that Kitt messed him up again trying to apologize is so sad yet funny ahosihdfiohasdf
Custom K.I.T.T.
APRIL GET THAT STUPID DECAL OFF HIM OH MY G O S H-
Somehow her 2-d design ideas looked almost worse than the actual thing and I thought the actual thing looked like a that default sticker decal that you get on a Hotwheels car.  I’msorryI’mnottryingtoroastanyartistsIjust I why there’s so much potential with giving Kitt decals :(
Seriously I want to use my drawing software to draw fire on Kitt at some point because it could be done so cool and that ain’t it chief.  I’m probably not going to be too great at it either since I don’t do backgrounds nearly enough and fire would be a background element for the most part but I could at least alter the colors ; m ;  OR LIGHTNING OH MY GOSH AAA LIGHTNING WOULD BE SO COO L ON HIM-  anyway it needed so much more red- and it was so asymmetrical too aHHHH-
I.  I’m fine it’s fine I’m fine it’s fi-
I don’t even know why Kitt needed a decal anyway, the other cars didn’t have to have decals to be considered custom, surely his dash alone could have done it-
ANYWAY
This ep was so WEIRD at times oh my gosh.  What was that series of insults the two ladies spat at each other?  Like the one just complimented her eyeshadow aggressively and the other one accused her of wearing “training bras” or something like whAT EXCU S E ME What is this episode?!  Kitt was so upset about the decal too :[
Soul Survivor
OH MY GOSH IT’S CUTE IT’S SO CUTE YOU GUYS-
I was recalling @knight-rider-fan-2000‘s theory about this episode (plz go check them out btw aaaa), and after watching it I totally agree.  Michael was especially kind in this episode, and he seems to be overall a more supportive mentor for Kitt this season, starting with Soul Survivor and being pretty consistent throughout.  I love their new dynamic so much- There’s definitely still episodes and moments where he’s closer to Season 1 Michael, but Season 2 Michael is a far superior human being in my opinion.
KITT’S SO ADORABLE LIL TINY CPU OH MY G O S H YOU’RE TELLING ME OUR SON IS ACTUALLY T H A T SMALL AAAAA
Michael really is so sweet in this oh my gosh, that whole arc where Kitt is his partner no matter what and that the car isn’t what made Kitt-- AW!!!!  ADORABLE!  Kitt being so unsure that he repeatedly asks Michael how it feels to see the Knight 2000 without him in it or fusses about his limited functionality as Michael patiently reassures him again and again that he’s wanted just the way he is, I just- Feelings.
One thing that hit me as funny though is when Michael finds Kitt’s CPU in the garage and the trash can is just like PULSATING and then he like yells at it like “tAlK tO mE kItT” and Kitt’s jus sitting there as a box of colored lights like “...”
I can just imagine a cut scene where Kitt’s like, “Oh and by the way Michael, if I could have said something I would have done so LONG before you started asking me to.  Believe it or not, I don’t like being in a trash can.”
“You Dingaling.”
Also Michael and his whole “I’m an honest man you can trust me listen I’ll give you a small TV just like this one” and then he proceeded to not do that.  Hmm.
Anyway, yeah, it doesn’t get any cuter than this.  The only thing that would have been better is if Adrianne didn’t exist.  Good thing she’s gone now~!
Ring of Fire
THIS IS SO TRIPPY THIS EPISODE IS SO TRIPPY
I would say that I hate Michael trying to get Kitt to subject himself to testing if he can withstand insane levels of heat.  I would say that if April did not then walk in and karma the crap out of him.  Gosh I loved it.  How he immediately was like whAT NOOO YOU WOULDN’T MAKE SOMEONE DO THAT and Kitt’s just like :/
dang hypocrite, Michael my feelings towards you are so complicated sometimes
anyway
So. Many. Dogs.  I usually love seeing Kitt interact with dogs but this started to get unsettling, I can’t blame him for not loving 6 different dogs all swarming him at once whAT- Have they nothing better to do than to jump on my son.  What the heck language were those banjo players singing in?  Was it a language or was it just gibberish keyboard spam that accidentally made it to the final script AOSHDIAOHSD
This whole swamp setting is really unique to this episode, and part of me really does commend the chance they took by switching up settings.  It’s almost always a small town on desert roads.  The way this all happened though was??? What?
I think the scriptwriters forgot that Return to Cadiz exists because Kitt got so much water damage AHSIDHAOISDH- I know April said the system was damaged but surely it would have minimized this a little bit.  Also did literally anything change by the end of this episode?  We didn’t see the guy get arrested, did we?  And the girl decided to stay living out in the swamp forest thing.  The only thing is that she, like, conquered her fear or something?  Even though she still isn’t acting in that direction?
This episode didn’t actually d o anything did it LOL
alsowhatevenwasthatexplosion
It’s not a bad episode though, just really bizarre.
Knightmares
YOU KNOW WHAT I SAID ABOUT IT NOT GETTING ANY CUTER?
I WAS WRONG.
THIS EPISODE this episode THIS EPISODE.  TOP TWO MATERIAL?  MORE LIKELY THAN YOU THINK.  TDR will always be my fav until the end of time I’m pretty sure because I don’t think another episode will get me to ugly sob like that (aLTHOUGH I AM MEGA HYPE HERE BECAUSE I WATCHED KvK AND IT WAS GOOD ALSO BUT WE’LL GET TO TH A T LATER) but in terms of sheer adorable buddies happiness this is the winner by all accounts.  I really like how they portray Michael Long, and I genuinely think the arc here has an impact on the rest of the season in terms of how Michael treats Kitt.
I love how Michael had told Kitt a long time ago how they were partners, like how he used to have a partner when he was a police officer, and how now when Long is so confused about everything everyone is trying to tell him, Kitt chooses this specific word to help introduce himself, and everything feels a bit more grounded for Long.  I love how Long immediately revolts against the way Devon and April try to tell him he’s wrong about who he is currently, which is, despite good intentions, the opposite of what he needs.  I love how Kitt then swoops in behind him and decides to treat Michael Long like a WHOLE NEW PERSON, one who Kitt tries to get to know.  I love how Long recognizes just how hard Kitt is trying and genuinely opens up to him.  I love how he never reverts to being mean or rude to Kitt after he gets in the car the second time, NOT EVEN ONE sarcastic comment.  How he never calls him a computer again after Kitt asks him not to, how he compliments his new partner left and right, how despite having no clue who Knight is he really wants to be that person for Kitt, because Kitt seems sincere and pretty great.  I adore that bit where Kitt gently, lovingly lists traits good and bad about Knight and how Long can finally connect to this other version of himself.
“One more thing about Michael Knight.”
“What’s that?”
“I was extremely fond of him”
I love how Long starts saying “Good work, Kitt” after they complete parts of their mission and how Knight does not stop this for the rest of the season, even after he regains his memory.  I love so much about this and could frankly talk about it even more than this but this is a brief summary so.  So yeah, we’re moving on ;W;
Silent Knight
It’s funny so.  I didn’t realize that Knight Rider had done any Christmas specials.  I knew about the Halloween specials, but I didn’t realize the Christmas special existed.  And so I was laughing at how funnee I was while I was like “SILENT KNIGHT HOLY KNIGHT ALL IS COME-” and then that’s exactly what the pun was meant to be.  they done bamboozled me.
ANYWAY THIS MIGHT BE THE STRANGEST CHRISTMAS SPECIAL TO EVER EXIST EVER.
They kept mentioning the Christmas banquet thing to make it mildly related to the season but then it wasn’t, it really wasn’t, it all revolved around clowns.  There was.  There was a Santa I guess.  Albeit a bank robber Santa--
And the kid is juuust obnoxious at first, I love how Kitt absolutely hates him immediately for some reason even though Kitt usually doesn’t hate people unless they do something really bad, but it feels so deserved because the kid is a jeeerk.  Maybe it’s because the kid accused him of endangering human life and that Hurt?
Kid: Just let me drive and I’ll throw away this dumb clock thing
Michael: No
Kitt: YES
Michael: W H A T ?!
Kitt: YES
Michael: ugh whatever
I was kind of expecting Kitt to pull some sort of shenanigans while the kid was driving as payback for whatever he absolutely despised him for, but Kitt was actually just really sweet and gave him a bit of freedom until he started endangering himself and then helped him get back into control.  Very wholesome.
AND the end was CUTE though, like the boy who had previously been a jerk going over and patting Kitt and being just sincerely nice to him ;w; wholesome
A Knight in Shining Armor
Gosh I always forget what this episode is about because the title is so loosely related LOL
The dynamic with Michael and the girl of the week was actually really cute and chemistry was not entirely nonexistant, so that’s a nice change from some of these that come out of nowhere.  Her arc was actually pretty sweet, how she resented technology because she wanted to be loved and cared about, how she thought computers were incapable of doing that until she talked to Kitt...
And the cave was prebby.
But why couldn’t she understand that her DAD was in PRISON.
“Why didn’t he ever come to see me?” “Because he was in Jail.” “oh.  But why didn’t he call???”
Diamonds Aren't a Girl's Best Friend
SOMEONE
AHAHA
SOMEONE CALLED MICHAEL
AHAHA
BERNIE CALLED HIM A DINGALING. Speaking of Bernie, all I could think this whole episode was
Tumblr media
White-Line Warriors
LONG-LEGGED PUNK-
Seriously idk what this season’s love affair with the baddies picking on Michael but I love it.
Honestly the twist of this episode was really interesting, I still don’t fully get how the baddies’ plan comes together though.  So the song plays on the radio and the police go to investigate the drag racers and the crims are IMMEDIATELY ready?  okay then.
Radio announcer Kitt tho.  That is blessed.
I want Radio Announcer Kitt.  Then again, I just want more Kitt in general so.
Race for Life
INHALE
Y’ALL ARE REAAALLY TRYING TO MAKE ME DETHRONE KNIGHTMARES AS THE CUTEST, AREN’T YOU?
Well ha, joke’s on you episode, you’re getting docked points for only giving Kitt and Becky two interactions.  And for making the donor obnoxious for most of the episode (although that end scene was pretty adorable).  So, okay, second cutest.
THE WAY KITT WAVED I-
HE IS SO CUTE
he is so cute.
Devon was really sweet this episode, not gonna lie.  I’m not sure if I’ve said it on this blog before, but I had strong dislike for Devon after Season 1.  I can explain that later if anyone wants, I’d be perfectly willing to compare the two seasons, but Season 2 Devon is pretty alright.  He doesn’t have much of a presence, but when he does, he’s kind.  I’m assuming he let Becky win at checkers, in which case uh, aW?!  Devon that’s cute.
KITT TRYING TO TEACH THE TEN YEAR OLD CHESS AHSIODHOAISD I LOVE YOU BUDDY
Also, I feel like this is the episode April really became her own character, separate from Cadiz.  She’d kind of just been a slightly perkier Bonnie, but now we get to see her family, her concerns... And April’s a pretty good character.
OH AND THE WHOLE “Kitt is family” ARC IS THE SWEETEST THING ASHDHAOSDohIAD
“Julio, meet Kitt.  He’s part of the family”
“Thank you, Michael.”
MY.  HEART.
Speed Demons
Okay so.  This is another one of those episodes where very little seemed to change by the end of the episode.  The guy who was actually in danger quit motorcycling anyway soooo...  The episode plot itself isn’t what I feel like talking about.
What was WITH that one announcer guy?  Were we meant to like him or not???  First he tries to Kick the Kitt and Kitt’s like :/ whatever
and then he comes back and they start to have like, a deep conversation, and he lovingly pats the hood before walking away.  And we’re like AWWW OKAY THIS GUY IS NOT TO BAD
AND THEN he asks Kitt to talk for someone and Kitt’s like “...” and the guy riots.  Why did Kitt not talk for him and why did the guy go so absolutely bonkers when he didn’t?  Were the cameras rolling and I just didn’t realize?  And then we kind of hate the guy again because he once again absolutely went ballistic at Kitt.  “That’s Showbiz.”
But then the dynamic with that coworker keeps coming up, and yeah, I guess she does seem a bit annoying.  But she also seems like a potential lady of the week and a potential protagonist.  So when she gets splashed with mud or whatever that was and the guys all like :D
What are we meant to be feeling?
Are we meant to feel bad for her or happy for him?
Because I just felt confused.
Goliath Returns 1 & 2
GOSH DARNIT ADRIANNE IS BACK
ALSO I-I-I I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING I SAID ABOUT YOU BEING A DOOFY AND STUPID VILLAIN JUST P L E A S E STOP ; M ;
SERIOUSLY WHEN DID GARTHE TURN FULL PSYCHOPATH-
THE FEELING I GOT REMINDED ME OF WATCHING THE SHERLOCK FINALE.  S H E R L O C K  F I N A L E.
Sigh, I should have known he’d gone off the deep end when he walked into a hot tub with jeans on.
I will forever be mad at some versions coughincludingtheoneIwaswatchingoncough for cutting out the fact that Kitt’s microchip was almost ENTIRELY WIPED/OVERWRITTEN AND PUT INTO GOLIATH.  Because uh, the way the show cut it up for TV, it seems like Kitt’s really in no danger other than being annoyed.  But no, literally everyone almost dies.  Fun times!
Seriously why did this convoluted garbage get a two-parter but Kitt vs. Karr didn’t?
This episode makes me sad.  Not just because Garthe tried, and almost succeeded, to take away everything we love in this show.  Not just because this episode strayed far enough from the typical formula for this to seem like some dystopian nightmare version of Knight Rider. Not just because freaking Adrianne is back.
I mean because I loved Garthe’s character, and this totally changed it.  I like that they went into Garthe’s trauma a bit more with this one, but unlike some villains in the Knight Rider canon (okay let’s not play games, UNLIKE KARR-), what he does is so dastardly, SO insaNE, that there is no way to argue that he might be justified.  No.  No.  Garthe, Adrianne, and Goliath are gone now, and that’s how it had to be.
OH ALSO GO O F F APRIL YES QUEEN I LOVE YOU- I honestly felt so bad for her when she turned around and broke down right after standing up to him, like dang, that hurts.  And Devon was sweet in this episode too ;w;
Okay but were they planning on making another episode of this?  Because that end scene was such an obvious teaser it’s not even funny.
“I hope we don’t run into those very much drowned people out in the streets again, Michael.  And I especially hope that they do not construct another semitrailer with the exact same scale and name as the previous one that was driven into the ocean.”
“Yes, I agree Kitt, this is also an anxiety that I possess despite the fact that they are very much definitely Deceased.  I sure hope that plot convenience does not interfere in the future.”
THANK GOODNESS THAT ADRIANNE IS GONE
wait what?  her actress is in another episode as another character who’s just as awful? wHYYYYYY
A Good Knight's Work
THAT BEAR NEEDS TO DIE. I am so glad Michael ejected the dumb thing at the end, Kitt deserved it. Especially after Michael essentially told him to temporarily kill himself. Michael's a cyberbully now ig. The arc with Kitt and the car salesman was cute. Apparently deactivation is considered programming now? Michael my mans you could have given Kitt any warning at all (I kind of take this back after one of the Season 3 episodes I’ve watched uHHHH this was a lot of warning compared to how Michael rolls in S3 what the heck is wrong with him). Cute episode overall tho I guess. ALSO I JUST NOW REALIZED "A GOOD KNIGHT'S WORK" IS A PUN BECAUSE KITT IS WILTON KNIGHT'S WORK AND I'M MAD AT MYSELF FOR NOT NOTICING IT SOONER-
Mouth of the Snake and that other garbage one that's title makes no sense
David might as well be a plank of wood. A plank of wood that yeets himself ten feet into the air whenever possible, but I digress. Does this count as superpowers? I just love how he offended Kitt 0.1 seconds after meeting him and then Michael proceeded to tell Kitt off for reacting. Love that soooo much. It's also hilarious to me how most of this episode has a similar structure to most Knight Rider episodes and then they randomly start reacreating the Most Dangerous Game--
Let it Be Me
Why isn't this the season finale?! I mean, I'm glad it's not, but why? This is way worse than White Bird like why- I feel like the Stevie episodes are kind of a controversy in this fandom? I loved the first one. This one's just, blegh it's okay. She and Michael still have pretty great chemistry WHEN THEY ARE SPEAKING IN REGULAR SPEECH. I do not like Stevie singing the same song with Michael 100 times. The duet at the end is kind of cute though, sue me I like corny things.
Stevie: I’m so sorry I shouldn’t have been with this one guy but ;m;
Michael: has been with approximately 100 women by now
Also Michael: How could you ;m;
Big Iron
This episode is kinda wild. Why does the guy manage to have a full out breakup with Lucy in less than one minute? Why is Michael a marriage counselor now? Why couldn't Kitt take the oxygen out of the cabin when Michael was definitely going to die if he didn't?  Since when does Turbo Boost use a ton of oxygen anyway?  Why does this man just immediately make up with his wife after finding out that she helped him? And most of all, WHY DIDN'T THAT BARTENDER LADY ACT THE LEAST BIT CONCERNED WHEN THEY ABSOLUTELY TORE UP THE PLACE??? Lmbo she's just like "Stop it guys :/"
It’s so bizarre that this is the season finale ahsdoifhasodf but go off I guess NBC

A list of my favourite fictional grey characters (not in order) SPOILER ALERT!
Regina Mills (Once Upon A Time)
There is a reason why Regina is called «The Evil Queen» She was pure evil. A murderer, a kidnapper, a rapist, how could I like her? Well it wasnt before season 3 I started to like her. It took a lot of time. And I suppose I will never fully love her after she raped Graham for...years... and murdered people - children when she was a tiny bit frustrated. I would even say that she is irredeemable. And I thought her redemtion arc was unrealistic in the beginning, and for God’s sake, she should not have been crowned The Good Queen in season 7. But she tried to change so hard for Henry, she tried to redeem herself. Tried to be a good mother for a change. She saved multiple lives and souls. She didnt completely redeem herself, I must admit it. But she tried so hard and I feel like she deserves something from that. She eventually became a very good mother, even though it was a little late since Henry was already 12 when she became one. She was still a bitter bitch and blamed innocent people for unfortunate things that happened to her (Zelena, Mary Margaret, Emma) but by season 7, she became something more than that. She became half good. Grey. And even though she didnt completely redeem herself, she came close. Also, I love her sassy personality, she should be crowned The Sassy Queen, not The Good Queen.
Rumplestiltskin (Once Upon A Time)
The Dark One who after 7 seasons became one of the greatest heroes in OUAT. The man who was known as the village coward because he ran away from the Ogre War and was too afraid to fight for his wife became one of the bravest men. Like Regina, he was a murderer. He was super manipulative with all his deals and the «all magic comes with a price, dearie» thing. He manipulated people into getting themselves killed. Before he became The Dark One, he was a good man with a pure heart. But the power of the dagger took over him and his heart was all black. He was power sick. He always wanted power, but not for selfish reasons. He felt like he needed power to protect his son Bealfire/Neal and his wife Milah, but when he took that power, the darkness came over him and he, after time, became evil. It wasn’t before he met Belle French his heart showed a little bit of light. As he said, she was his light in an ocean of darkness. Their relationship was problematic and selfish in the beginning. He manipulated her into thinking he changed (which you know i detest *cough* James Potter) Rumple loved power more than he loved her, at least in season 4. He too often chose it over her, until season 6 when he started to properly redeem himself. His redemtion arc took over 300 years but it came in the end. His love for her changed A LOT. In the other seasons, his love was unhealthy and selfish. But in season 6 and 7, he changed a lot. This time it wasnt only for Belle, but Gideon too. They helped him let go of power and in season 7, he tried so hard to get rid of the dagger and the power so that he could live a normal life with his family. And after Belle died, he didn’t return to the dagger or the dark side. He helped the good side to defeat Drizella and the other villians in that season. He even became a father figure to Alice. And in the end he sacrificed himself to save Killian’s (Nook) life. And he got reunited with Belle. He is the most interesting character in OUAT, no doubt there.
Sawyer/James Ford (LOST)
Sawyer is without a doubt one of my fave characters from LOST (after Charlie and John) in his background, he was a thief and manipulated woman to believe he loved them, just to take all their money. (Maybe except Cassidy, since he fell in love with her later, but he still manipulated her AND got her pregnant) He’s a real asshole. Buuut - then he became an entirely different (and better) man. He meets Kate Austen and I feel like his love for her changes his character. In the beginning he was a bit of a perve with her (i mean, walking straight towards her completely naked...) he doesnt develope much in the 1 season, but later (beginning in the 3 season) he becomes quite selfless and protective. In season (was it 4? I dont quite remember) he falls in love again with Juliet Burke, and heeeeell, she was good for him. He also developes a nice relationship with Claire Littleton (platonic) he becomes protective of her. He attemts to comfort Hurley after Charlie’s death. In the rest of the seasons he is the born leader. He puts the team before himself (like when he sacrificed his chance to escape the Island) and in the paralell universe he is absolutely the best.
Heathcliff (Wuthering Heights)
Okay, no he’s not exactly a grey character since he’s a lot more dark than light, but I love him too much to not put him here. Differently from the other character I’ve mentioned above, Heathcliff doesnt have a redemtion. He died an awful person. He abused and manipulated a lot of people. Before he became this asshole, he was a much better person. He was an ass to those who deserved it (Hindley, That bitch deserved to die so young. Edward was a kind man, but I don’t like him, sooo... nevermind) The way he treated Isabella was sickening and awful, she had every right to leave him and take Linton away and hate him. I Don’t like Isabella, but she never deserved to be treated that way. His love for Cathy was unhealthy, but it was true and he would do so much for her. (They kinda remind me of Snily, so ofc I ship it) Heathcliff went through so much trauma in his life and never recovered. After Cathy died, he was practically dead too, then he killed himself years later. His life made me cry for days, especially the ending. He is such an interesting character with so many layers.
Ulrich Nielsen (Dark)
(Before I say anything, I haven’t finished the entire show yet, so this is gonna be short and probably not 100% correct)
To be honest, I don’t like Ulrich at all as a person. I look at him and I see a fully grown up man with no remorse for what he did to Regina as a teen. He cheated on his wife with a woman he didnt even love. He tried to murder a CHILD who hadnt done anything wrong (yet) because he thought he was going to kill his brother and son in the future (okay, i get why he did it. He was desperate to get Mikkel back and the whole time-tarvelig thing was extremely stressfull) BUT HE COULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING A LOT LESS HARMFULL TO PREVENT EVERYTHING TO HAPPEN. Despite this, i love him as a character. He is so interesting and there are times were I have to remind myself why i dont like him. He is brave and intelligent and... so fucking hot as a teen.
Hannah Kahnwald (Dark)
(Again, havent watched the whole show yet)
This girl is MESSED UP. When she was fourteen, she accused Ulrich of being a rapist, which is a very serious accusation and then blamed it on Regina who she knew was a victim of Ulrich and Katharina’s bullying. She is a home-wrecker, and when Katharina found out about Ulrich cheating on her with Hannah and confronted her, Hannah blamed it on Ulrich and said he pressed her and that she wanted it to end, but he refused or whatever, i dont 100% remember the conversation. But she was also a very good mother to Jonas and she was so sweet to Mikkel/Michael. She is a bitch, so much that its impossible to not like her.
Severus Snape (Harry Potter)
Saved the best one to last. The guy my whole account is about, ofc he’s on this list, and ofc this is gonna be the longest text.
This guy is a complete asshole. Always has been, always will be. He bullied Harry and Co (mostly Harry and Neville) he was a bitter and sarcastic bitch. He used to be a follower of Voldemort. Even in his youth he had a lot of flaws. We all know he became the bastard he was due to childhood trauma, mental illnesses and manipulation. I believe he had depression, grief and PTSD. At least in his 20’s he was suicidal, and I believe it remained like that til the day he died, because he had no one to help him or give him support. He turned to the dark side in an attemt to make his life better (as many members of gangs do) but he only stayed like that for two years, which is extremely impressive if you know what kind of person Voldemort is. As a 21 year old, Snape was a very different person from what he was as a 38 year old. If he was the way he was as a 38 yr old when Lily, James and Harry was in danger. First of all, he wouldnt start to try to save Lily by asking Voldemort, he would have went straight to Dumbledore, probably with his own brilliant plan on how to save them. Second, he wouldnt hesitate for a second to save James and Harry to. In canon, he needed to have a personal reason to save them, which was Lily’s feelings I believe. As a 38 yr old, he risked his life to save people he hated (Lupin) This is a great character developement. He went from being a selfish bitch, to become a selfless asshole. He was that kind of person who did anything in his power to protect someone, even if that person had nothing to do with winning the war and had nothing to gain himself.

Hey! Could you write a fic with the prompts 17(this one said by the reader), 54, 36, 116, 188, 193 & 195 with michael gray (i feel like he doesnt get all the love he deserves) and also, I know they are a lot of promts so if you dont do all from the smit ones, its okey💗
Send me some numbers and a person and i’ll write a thing
“Are you upset with me?”, “I can’t stand the thought of losing you.”. “I’m so in love with you.”, “Mine.” & “ Good girl. ”
Nights at The Garrison were becoming more and more frequent now that you were involved in the life of Michael Gray - the head accountant often choosing this as the place that you met rather than the office as he didn’t want the opportunity for its illegality to compromise someone he saw as so innocent. It was just this thought and attitude which had you on edge each time you crossed the threshold to the room which looked like it was made of wood and glass, Michaels willingness to allow you into a den of hungry dogs alone making you sure that he was simply trying to keep you away from his family.
Of course the pub was owned by his cousins, so there were brief moments when you had seen them, but you had never been offered the chance to speak to them, and each time you made a move to you had been guided away by your lover.
It was becoming tedious, six long months had rolled on like this and no matter what you felt for Michael, the feeling of not being good enough to be enveloped into the folds of his life was becoming more and more overpowering.
It was just as you were finishing your second glass of gin that evening that he stepped into the pub removing his hat, his hair disheveled and his coat dripping rainwater on the already creaking floorboards. You had been in here so long you hadn’t even noticed the rain starting, the loud chatter of the men and the many you had to turn away deafening you to anything else.
“There she is,” Michael spoke with an uncharacteristic smile which told you that he had already been drinking. He had kept you waiting so that he could drink with his family first. You allowed him to wrap his arms around you once he had set his coat on the hanger by the entrance to the small room you were never allowed into.
Your frown was obviously more evident than you realised as he pulled back with concern, the smell of cigar smoke and whiskey on his breath making you angrier.
“Whats’e’matter love?” He spoke, Birmingham accent getting stronger with each day he lived in the city rather than the countryside, “You upset w’ me?”
“What do you think?” You snapped, eyes moving to the small clock which sat above the bar to indicate how late he was.
“‘m sorry ‘m late love, had some business to sort out at the--”
“There’s always business to sort out isn’t there?” Your fury began to bubble within you, anger which had been building over months finally allowing it’s way to the surface, “And it’s always more important than me.”
He stood there half shocked and half impressed at the brassiness of your words considering where you were, and his hesitation only served to irritate you further.
“I’m sick of you hiding me from your family. You can’t tell me you want to keep me out of stuff for my own protection and then allow me to sit in this place where I could get grabbed and pulled down the street at any moment.”
“‘Arry’s ‘ere to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
“I don’t give a fuck who you think is going to be protecting me in this place, if someone wants to take me they will and you know it. The only place I’m safe is when I’m with you.”
He seemed to consider your words for a moment before he shook his head and drank from the whiskey glass which Harry had set in front of him while you had been speaking, your voice low enough that only someone as close as Michael or the bartender could hear.
“‘m not gettin’ you involved, it’s too dangerous.”
At that you rolled your eyes, downing the rest of the gin and standing,
“Where d’ya think your goin’?” His eyebrows were raised, obviously not expecting so much resistance and that alone served to make you more angry.
Men were looking up from their tables now, noticing that there was a storm brewing in your words and waiting in anticipation for the entertainment they would get after a long day at the factories. It was clear they were especially interested as this was a woman who was involved with the cousin of the man who most of them called their boss.
“I’m going home, Michael. What you’re saying makes no sense and I’m sick of being hidden just because you’re ashamed of me. I mean you tell me that I’m not safe around your family and then won’t even let me drink in the room you all drink in when you're here? If you really wanted me safe why wouldn’t you keep me away from the men out there who have been approaching me all night.”
His nostrils flare and his jaw tightens as he feels his control slipping, and he takes your arm and pushes you back into the private room, his stern eyes making you sure that he would retaliate with more anger than you had given him. But he didn’t.
He gripped both sides of your face and forced his lips to yours, and you were in so much shock that you allowed him to kiss you for a moment before you pulled back.
“What th--”
“I’m so in love with you and I can’t stand the thought of losing you.” He spoke quickly, as if he wanted to spit the words from his mouth and get them into the air before he had a chance to swallow them, “Everythin’ in my life is coloured by them; John, Arthur and Tommy. No matter what it is they always find a way to poison everythin’ they touch, bendin’ everyone and everythin’ around ‘em to their own plans and making everythin’ work for ‘em. I don’t want you to become a part of that.”
He was still holding your face, one of your hands resting on his wrist while the other lay on his chest ready to push him away.
“You’re mine. The only good thing that ‘as ever come into my life that I‘ve really felt was good and made me feel like I didn’t ‘ave to try and be like them, and I don’t want you meetin’ ‘em and becomin’ just another piece in their fuckin’ war strategy.”
The reasoning behind his words was much more clear now, and it made your heart swell that he was clinging on to you as some kind of life raft, to keep a semblance of himself alive as he was forced to sink further and further into family business.
“I want you in my life for a very long time, so there’s goin’to ‘ave to be a time when I bring you ‘round them. But I want to keep that as far away as possible, I want us to just be us for a while...”
You pressed your lips to his once more, and his hesitation to return it scared you until he melted into you, his hands gripping and your waist and picking you up to set you onto the table which his family so often used as a canvas for their battle plans. You pulled him closer, pressing him flush against your body and his grip tightened as the familiar air washed over you, the need to feel more than each other's lips on your own.
“Now you gonna let me get you back to my ‘ouse or should I tell ‘arry to shut up shop early?” His lips dragged along yours as he spoke, “Or could just lock the door and you’d ‘ave to keep quiet… but we both know I’m goin’ to make you feel so good you won’t be able to…”
“Take me home Michael, I want to show you how much I love you too..” Is all that falls from your lips and his grin widens before he presses another kiss to your lips, pulling back to whisper, “Good girl”And it was almost enough to make you sink to your knees right there.

Here is a detailed account of how Sondland snared Pompeo, why he must testify and be impeached if not resign.
If Pompeo doesn’t testify, he should be impeached
By Jennifer Rubin, Opinion writer | Published November 20, 2019 at 2:52 p.m. ET | Washington Post | Posted November 20, 2019 |
U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland implicated numerous senior officials and President Trump in a plan to extort Ukraine: No White House meeting until the Ukrainians announced an investigation into nonexistent dirt on former vice president Joe Biden. (The announcement was vital for political purposes; Trump could have cared less if any corruption was going on.) Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, according to Sondland, played a key role in the plot and in obstruction of Congress. As such, Pompeo needs to appear as a witness or face impeachment himself.
Sondland made clear he was no rogue actor in the Ukraine plot, something we already knew from other witnesses and from the July 25 phone conversation between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. In the call, Trump specifically mentions the Bidens, Burisma and the 2016 election (a reference to the repeatedly debunked conspiracy theory that Ukraine, not Russia, interfered with the election). Pompeo was on that call and therefore understood the link between the White House visit and Trump’s political demands.
Here is what else we know about Pompeo’s involvement:
A text from William B. Taylor Jr. Jr. dated July 10 reflected that “S” (Secretary Pompeo) directed him to talk to Rudolph W. Giuliani about Ukraine.
In an email dated July 19 sent to Pompeo and a raft of senior officials, Sondland said that he had briefed Zelensky for the July 25 call and needed to “turn over every stone,” a reference to the Burisma and 2016 investigations, the same investigations Trump spoke about on the July 25 call, adding in Biden’s name.
Sondland on Aug. 11 sent an email to Pompeo’s counselor and a top aide, Lisa Kenna, stating he had helped draft a statement that would guarantee the “deliverables” need to have a big news conference; Kenna said she would pass it on to Pompeo, which in the absence of his testimony we must assume he read.
On Aug. 22, Sondland emailed Pompeo directly talking about a way to alleviate the “logjam” (the aid holdup). Pompeo said yes. Pompeo approved the plan and not unsurprisingly, “Sondland testified that because Pompeo listened in on the July 25 call between Trump and Zelensky, he would know that the ‘issues of importance to Potus’ were the investigations into 2016 and Burisma.”
The Post further summarizes:
Emails from Aug. 11 and Aug. 22 show not only that Sondland was updating Pompeo on his activities, but that the secretary was approving the plans to get Zelenksy to commit to the politically charged investigations.
In the Aug. 22 email, Sondland said he hoped that Zelensky could meet Trump in Warsaw, and that he would encourage Zelensky “to look him in the eye” and tell him that by mid-September he “should be able to move forward and with confidence on those issues of importance to Potus and the US.”
“Hopefully that will break the logjam,” he added. ... Sondland said he was referring to the 2016 and Burisma investigations — exactly what he had been referencing earlier that month, on Aug. 9, when he told then-Ukraine envoy Kurt Volker over texts that Trump “really wants the deliverable.”
In sum, Pompeo is complicit. Moreover, he now refuses to testify or produce documents, which likely will complete the picture of what he knew and when he knew it. He is obstructing Congress’s investigation, and even refusing to recuse himself from the matter.
Former Justice Department spokesman Matt Miller tells me: “The bill of particulars that have emerged about Pompeo’s involvement are incredibly damning. At the minimum, he knew about the scheme and did nothing to stop it while allowing the president to attack and run roughshod over his people.” Miller continues, “He should be up on the Hill testifying tomorrow, but we know he won’t because if he had to start telling the truth, rather than bullying and blowing off reporters, his answers would be damning to himself and the president.”
Former prosecutor Joyce White Vance agrees. “Sondland puts Pompeo right in the middle of Trump’s bribery scheme,” she says. ”And, Pompeo, who listened in on the July 25 call, knew what was at stake — Trump was forcing Zelensky to announce an investigation into the Bidens that was politically valuable to Trump’s 2020 campaign.” She makes a key point: “Pompeo, top of his class at West Point and a graduate of Harvard Law, knew it was wrong. But he hasn’t had the courage to come forward with the bravery of a [Marie] Yovanovitch or a [Lt. Col. Alexander] Vindman.”
“The Sondland testimony puts Pompeo (as well as Trump, of course) squarely inside impeachment territory — and, under a normal Justice Department, in indictment territory as well,” says constitutional scholar Laurence Tribe. “There is no [Office of Legal Counsel] memo suggesting that a sitting secretary of state is immune from indictment and prosecution, and this one was deeply engaged, if Sondland is to be believed, in a conspiracy to commit bribery and extortion, to violate federal election law against foreign interference, and to obstruct justice, including obstructing congressional investigations.” (He also notes that Energy Secretary Rick Perry "is implicated as well. And [Giuliani] is up to his eyebrows in indictable federal felonies.”)
The House Intelligence Committee should make a criminal referral, subpoena Pompeo for testimony and proceed with impeachment proceedings if he doesn’t comply. The message to future secretaries of state must be that they must not participate in illegal schemes and that their oath is to the Constitution, not a president.

5 takeaways from Gordon Sondland’s blockbuster testimony
By Aaron Blake | Published November 20 at 2:13 PM ET | Washington Post | Posted November 20, 2019 |
The most anticipated — and potentially most important — witness in the House’s impeachment inquiry is testifying Wednesday. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland is the figure closest to President Trump to take the stand, and in his opening statement, he directly connected Trump to the Ukraine quid pro quo.
Below are some key takeaways from his opening statement and testimony. We’ll add more throughout the hearing.
1. CONNECTING THIS TO THE PRESIDENT
Pretty much every witness to date has said there was something unholy about asking Ukraine to launch specific investigations, including one involving former vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden. But none of them has testified to the idea that Trump actually wanted the U.S. aid or a White House meeting to be conditioned upon those investigations.
In his opening statement, though, Sondland walked right up to the line, if he didn’t cross it.
“... [Trump attorney Rudolph W.] Giuliani’s requests were a quid pro quo for arranging a White House visit for President Zelensky,” he said. “Mr. Giuliani demanded that Ukraine make a public statement announcing investigations of the 2016 election/DNC server and Burisma. Mr. Giuliani was expressing the desires of the president of the United States, and we knew that these investigations were important to the president.”
At another point, Sondland said explicitly that special envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker told him this was the case. Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) asked, “So, Mr. Volker told you that [Giuliani] was expressing the desires of the president of the United States?” Sondland responded, “Correct.”
Sondland also repeatedly said “everyone knew it” when asked about the quid pro quos — as if to emphasize that this was hardly a secret.
Sondland did stop short of saying he had direct knowledge of this being Trump’s desire, though. In a tense exchange with Rep. Michael R. Turner (R-Ohio), Sondland eventually admitted he was connecting some dots:
TURNER: No one on this planet told you that Donald Trump was tying this aid to the investigation? Because if your answer is yes, then the chairman is wrong. And the headline on CNN is wrong. No one on this planet told you that President Trump was tying aid to investigations. Yes or no?
SONDLAND: Yes.
TURNER: So you really have no testimony today that ties President Trump to a scheme to withhold aid from Ukraine in exchange for these investigations.
SONDLAND: Other than my own presumption.
It’s tempting to say Sondland is implicating Trump. That’s not completely the case; he seems to still be walking a fine line about what he knew and could prove and what was plainly apparent to him and others. But he seems to be saying this was something that Trump blessed, which is significant.
2. POINTING FINGERS AND NAMING NAMES — INCLUDING POMPEO, MULVANEY AND PENCE
Whether Sondland is directly fingering Trump is up for debate. But he’s clearly pointing fingers. He said “everyone” was aware of the quid pro quo, and he indicated that includes acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Vice President Pence.
He said Pompeo had instructed him to work with Giuliani as late as Sept. 24 — which is notably after the whistleblower situation exploded into public view. He added later that Pompeo directed him about how to ease what Sondland described as a “logjam” with Ukraine. “Secretary Pompeo essentially gave me the green light to brief President Zelensky about making those announcements,” Sondland said.
He also passed along this text exchange with Mulvaney from July 19, six days before Trump’s call with Zelensky:
[Sondland said:] “I Talked to Zelensky just now … He is prepared to receive Potus’ call. Will assure him that he intends to run a fully transparent investigation and will ‘turn over every stone’. He would greatly appreciate a call before Sunday so that he can put out some media about a ‘friendly and productive call’ (no details) before Ukraine election on Sunday.” Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney responded: “I asked NSC to set it up for tomorrow.”
That implicates Mulvaney in these efforts even more. Witnesses had previously said Sondland indicated that he had coordinated the quid pro quo with Mulvaney, who is Trump’s top White House aide.
He was asked later more specifically if both Mulvaney and Pompeo were aware of the quid pro quo, and he responded “correct” for both.
A State Department spokeswoman, Morgan Ortagus, responded: “Gordon Sonland never told Secretary Pompeo that he believed the President was linking aid to investigations of political opponents. Any suggestion to the contrary is flat out false.”
Lastly, he indicated that he conveyed “concerns” about a quid pro quo to Pence before Sept. 1 meetings in Warsaw.
“I mentioned to Vice President Pence before the meetings with the Ukrainians that I had concerns that the delay in aid had become tied to the issue of investigations,” Sondland said. He added later in his testimony that Pence “nodded that he heard what I said.”
Pence’s office denied Sondland’s account. Chief of staff Marc Short said, “This alleged discussion recalled by Ambassador Sondland never happened.”
Sondland also said repeatedly in his opening statement that the State Department and the White House didn’t allow him access to the things he needed to provide accurate previous testimony — hence the inconsistencies and the clarifications, apparently. He brought this up repeatedly, especially when questioning from GOP counsel Stephen Castor turned more hostile.
Sondland doesn’t sound at all happy that he’s in this spot and seems to believe the administration and Giuliani put him in it. And it wasn’t just Trump he was prepared to rope into all this.
3. A BREAKUP IN THE ‘THREE AMIGOS’
Pence’s office wasn’t the only one taking exception to Sondland’s testimony; so did one of Sondland’s fellow “three amigos.”
Sondland said in his opening statement that Energy Secretary Rick Perry and the other member of the “three amigos” who spearheaded the Ukraine effort, special envoy Kurt Volker, handled initial communications with Giuliani after Trump told them to “talk to Rudy” on May 23.
“Secretary Perry volunteered to make the initial calls with Mr. Giuliani, given their prior relationship,” Sondland said. “Ambassador Volker made several of the early calls and generally informed us of what was discussed.”
The Energy Department issued a statement disputing that.
“Ambassador Sondland’s testimony today misrepresented both Secretary Perry’s interaction with Rudy Giuliani and direction the secretary received from President Trump,” it said. “As previously stated, Secretary Perry spoke to Rudy Giuliani only once at the president’s request. No one else was on that call. At no point before, during or after that phone call did the words ‘Biden’ or ‘Burisma’ ever come up in the presence of Secretary Perry.”
By the end of the hearing, members were noting that the amigos had been pulled apart.
“I lost my amigos?” Sondland joked, to laughter.
4. TRUMP TEAM DIDN’T CARE ABOUT ACTUAL INVESTIGATIONS, JUST ANNOUNCEMENTS
Sondland further undermined the idea that Trump truly cared about corruption in Ukraine, saying that he wasn’t under the impression that there was ever actually a desire for investigations — just announcements of them.
“He had to announce the investigations,” Sondland said of Zelensky. “He didn’t actually have to do them, as I understood it.”
That indicates this was all about the headlines created by the announcement, and not the actual substance of the evidence.
He was pressed on this later, but was a bit cagey. He said he never heard “anyone say that the investigations had to start or had to be completed. The only thing I heard from Mr. Giuliani or otherwise was that they had to be announced in some form. And that form kept changing."
Sondland added: “The way it was expressed to me was that the Ukrainians had a long history of committing to things privately and then never following through.”
This is merely the latest piece of evidence contradicting the idea that Trump was worried about corruption in Ukraine. Giuliani’s own public comments indicated this was a political effort aimed at helping Trump. Second, Trump himself hasn’t shown an interest in any investigations besides ones that involve the United States and his political interests. And third, an aide in Ukraine, David Holmes, testified last week that Sondland had told him Trump didn’t “give a s---” about Ukraine and only wanted the investigations.
Despite this extensive evidence, the idea that this was actually about corruption has remained a GOP talking point.
5. ‘TALK TO RUDY’ WAS A DIRECTIVE FROM TRUMP
Related to Takeaways No. 1 and 3 is this: Sondland believed Trump urging them to talk to Giuliani was a directive — which isn’t quite how Volker testified about it.
In his testimony Tuesday, Volker was asked about Trump’s May 23 order that he, Sondland and Perry were to “talk to Rudy,” and he suggested it wasn’t a direct order.
“I didn’t take it as an instruction, I want to be clear about that,” Volker said, adding: “You know, when we were giving him our assessment about President Zelensky and where Ukraine is headed, he said, ‘That’s not what I hear. I hear terrible things; he’s got terrible people around him. Talk to Rudy.' And I understood in that context, him just saying, that’s where he hears it from. I didn’t take it as an instruction.
Volker said it was just “part of the dialogue.”
But Sondland is clear on this point: It was an directive.
“In response to our persistent efforts to change his views, President Trump directed us to ‘talk with Rudy,’ ” Sondland said. “We understood that ‘talk with Rudy’ meant talk with Mr. Rudolph W. Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer.”
Castor tried to poke holes in that, urging Sondland to say it wasn’t actually an order. Sondland, though, made clear he viewed it as necessary if they were to get what they wanted out of a relationship with Ukraine.
“Our conclusion, and the conclusion of the three of us, was that if we did not talk to Rudy, nothing would move forward on Ukraine,” he said.
That doesn’t exactly make this sound optional. And it again connects this whole effort to Trump — in a way Volker declined to.
Sondland also, notably, disagreed with Volker’s testimomy that he wasn’t aware of quid pro quos.
“I strongly disagree with that portion of his testimony," Sondland said. "It was absolutely a requirement.”

House Prosecutor Cites Former Republican Expert Witness In Pro
IMPEACHMENT RESPONSE: House Republicans Respond To Democrats Impeachment Hopes
A House impeachment manager cited professor Jonathan Turley, who had appeared as a Republican witness during Trump’s first impeachment battle, as part of the prosecution’s argument in favor of holding the former president on trial.
Rep. Joe Neguse, D-Colo., quoted Turley’s assertion in a past study on the executive branch that “resignation from office does not prevent trial on articles of impeachment.”
Neguse also quoted Turley’s writing in a 1999 article on impeachment, where the professor approvingly quoted 18th century statesman Edmund Burke’s declaration that “no man in no circumstance, can escape the account, which he owes to the laws of his country.”
Turley in recent weeks, however, has argued that“the planned;impeachment trial;is at odds with the language of the Constitution, which expressly states that removal of a president is the primary purpose of such a trial.”
Turley had appeared before the House as Republicans’ expert witness in 2019, as part of the proceedings related to Trump’s first impeachment. Kevin Breuninger
If Biden Doesnt Resign Which He Wont Where Does Gop Rhetoric Go From Here
From a technical standpoint, the first time that Donald Trump faced an impeachment effort came in May 2017. Then, Rep. Al Green demanded that the House of Representatives charge Trump with obstruction of justice related to the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. The immediate predicate for Greens call was the firing of FBI Director James B. Comey early that month. But over the course of the year, the impeachment articles expanded to include a broad range of actions by the then-president, constituting a set of high misdemeanors.
That December, the House voted on Greens aggregated charges. It was tabled by a 364-to-58 vote. More than twice as many Democrats voted against the measure as voted for it. But it was doomed anyway; Republicans had control of the chamber, and they werent likely to acquiesce to an impeachment effort, no matter how robust. When Green tried again in 2018, the outcome was the same.
The impeachment effort, many claimed, was just a continuation of the Russia investigation itself, an attempt to undo what the electoral college made possible: a Trump presidency.
The two-thirds requirement in the Senate for convicting Trump meant that there was little chance he would actually be removed from office, and he wasnt. But there was a warning that accompanied the Republican response to the impeachment: Do it to us, and well do it to you.
Impeach Biden and all that, one owner said. You know, kind of turn the tables.
If Trump Goes Unpunished Well Have No One To Blame But Ourselves
Representative Jamie Raskin argued that Trumps actions on January 6, were a culmination of the presidents actions, not an aberration from them. He described how Trump encouraged violence against his political enemies for years, and even continued attacking Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer following a foiled plot to kidnap her in the weeks before the 2020 election.
My dear colleagues, is there any political leader in this room who believes that if he is ever allowed by the Senate to get back into the Oval Office, Donald Trump would stop inciting violence to get his way? Raskin asked. Would you bet the lives of more police officers on that? Would you bet the safety of your family on that? Would you bet the future of your democracy on that?
Raskin noted that even after the January 6 attack, Trump declared his conduct totally appropriate.
So, if he gets back into office and it happens again, well have no one to blame but ourselves, he said.
Rep. Jamie Raskin asks senators if they believe Donald Trump would stop inciting violence if he was allowed back into the Oval Office:Would you bet the lives of more police officers on that? Would you bet the future of your democracy on that?

Trump’s Attorneys Close Out Their Case
As he started out his closing statement, Trump attorney Michael van der Veen said the former president’s team does not stipulate the truthfulness of the statement from Jaime Herrea Beutler.;
Van der Veen then resorted to attacking the House impeachment managers, falsely claiming they never mentioned the Constitution and distorted evidence.;
Van der Veen insisted that no one could have interpreted Mr. Trump’s January 6 speech as anything other than peaceful. He also suggested that some of the people who attacked the Capitol were already at the Capitol when Mr. Trump was speaking.;
He claimed the protesters “hijacked” the event for their own purposes, even though those who stormed the Capitol have identified themselves as Trump supporters.;
Van der Veen said the entire impeachment has been a “charade” from beginning to end.
“You do not have to indulge the impeachment lust, the dishonesty and the hypocrisy,” van der Veen said.;

Coons said he favors a Sept. 11-style commission to probe further into Trump’s actions leading up to and on the day of the Capitol attack.
“There’s still more evidence that the American people need and deserve to hear,” he said. “The 9/11 Commission is a way to make sure that we secure the Capitol going forward, and that we lay bare the record of just how responsible and how abjectly and violating of his constitutional oath President Trump really was.”
Trump’s role in the party
The Senate vote raises further questions about Trump’s role in the Republican Party going forward.
In a statement after the verdict, Trump said: “Our historic, patriotic and beautiful movement to Make America Great Again has only just begun.”
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., an ally of the former president, told Fox News Sunday that he had spoken with Trump, and that he’s eager to help the GOP win the House and Senate back in 2022.
But Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy, who was one of seven Republicans who broke ranks with their party in voting to convict the former president, told ABC’s This Week that Trump’s “force wanes” in the GOP.
Cassidy is facing backlash in Louisiana over his vote, including the state GOP voting to unanimously censure him. But he says people want to hold their leaders accountable and that’s what his vote to convict was based on.

Biden On Trump Acquittal: ‘the Substance Of The Charge Is Not In Dispute’
“We had no need to call any witnesses at the end of the trial because, as all Americans believed at that moment, the evidence was overwhelming,” she said in an interview Sunday with NPR’s Weekend Edition.
The Senate voted 57-43, which included seven Republicans, to hold Trump guilty on the impeachment charge of inciting an insurrection. But that was short of the two-thirds, or 67 votes, needed to convict him.
“I know that people have a lot of angst and they can’t believe that the Senate did what they did. But what we needed were senators, more senators with spines, not more witnesses,” Plaskett said.
She said the House managers wanted to enter into the record the statement of Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Wash., about a conversation Beutler had with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., regarding a call he had with Trump on Jan. 6.
After an agreement was reached to read Herrera Beutler’s statement into the record, Plaskett says, there was no need to call her as a witness.
“Individuals do not come to the Senate floor, raise their hand and testify. Individuals are depositioned, videotaped, and that tape is then played before the Senate,” Plaskett said.
“We wanted the testimony and the statement of our colleague Jaime Herrera Beutler, who is a tremendous patriot to put herself out there. And we were able to get that,” she said.
Plaskett denied that she and other House managers were pressured by Senate Democrats not to call witnesses.
Trumps Failure To Discourage Election Violence
ED KILGORE: Again and again, the House impeachment managers are stressing that Trump had an affirmative obligation under his oath of office to stop threats of violence related to his efforts to reverse the election returns. Obviously he failed to do that on more occasions than you can count, whether or not you accept the evidence showing he actively encouraged the Capitol attacks. He knew the attacks were imminent or likely, and that these were people who regarded themselves as his cavalry. So why did he never say a discouraging word? Its a hard question for Trumps attorneys to answer.

How The Seven Republicans Who Voted To Convict Trump Later Explained Their Decisions
The evidence is compelling that President Trump is guilty of inciting an insurrection against a coequal branch of government and that the charge rises to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors, said Senator Richard Burr, who is retiring at the end of his term in 2022.
Senator Bill Cassidy said he voted guilty because thats what Trump was, and that Our Constitution and our country is more important than any one person.
Instead of preventing a dangerous situation, President Trump created one, explained Senator Susan Collins, referencing how primed the January 6 crowd of Trump supporters was for violence. And rather than defend the Constitutional transfer of power, he incited an insurrection with the purpose of preventing that transfer of power from occurring.
Explained Senator Lisa Murkowski: If I cant say what I believe that our president should stand for, then why should I ask Alaskans to stand with me?
Senator Mitt Romney said the House managers proved their case, adding that Trump incited an insurrection despite the obvious and well known threats of violence that day. President Trump also violated his oath of office by failing to protect the Capitol, the vice president, and others in the Capitol. Each and every one of these conclusions compels me to support conviction.
Previously Unheard Audio Introduced
House Republicans respond to articles of impeachment l ABC News
ED KILGORE: Plaskett just played previously unreleased audio of Capitol Hill police in full panic as the mob broke down the security perimeter and injured officers, and then video of hand-to-hand combat between police and rioters. Shes using a model of the Capitol to show the mobs progress towards the House and Senate chambers where Congress was reviewing electoral vote objections by Trump allies.
Using new security footage, Plaskett shows the mob breaking through the windows from inside the Capitol, noting some of the first rioters through the breech were in full tactical armors and/or riot shields. She then pauses in the video evidence to draw a parallel between the attacks and September 11. I would note myself that on 9/11 I was standing on Pennsylvania Avenue SE and watched members of Congress walk away from the Capitol in scenes echoed by the January 6 evacuation.

Republican Search For Response
Many Republicans appear to have made up their minds that they won’t vote to convict Trump, but they have struggled to find a consistent way to respond to the Democrats’ emotional case.
Many Republican senators weren’t at their desks for parts of the day’s presentation, and a pool reporter spotted Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., at his desk appearing to write in the names of countries on a blank map of Asia.
Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., said the Democrats’ presentation Thursday wasn’t compelling. “Today was not connecting the dots,” he said.
Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., said, “Very political today.”

Trump attorney David Schoen stepped out for a time to do an interview with Fox News. He said he felt confident that he wasn’t missing anything.
“It’s more of the same thing. They’re showing the same repetitive videos,” Schoen said.
Schoen called the managers’ use of videos of the attack “offensive,” a charge Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., had made on Wednesday night.
“I think they’re making a movie, you know. They haven’t in any way tied it to Donald Trump. I think its offensive, quite frankly. It’s an antithesis the healing process to continue to show the tragedy that happened here that Donald Trump has condemned, and I think it tears at the American people, quite frankly,” Schoen said.
Schoen said they discussed “procedure.”
House Managers Rest Their Case
Representative Jamie Raskin wrapped up House Democrats case against Trump, saying the evidence clearly shows that he laid the groundwork for the Capitol riot throughout his presidency, instigated the attack in the days leading up to January 6, and then showed no remorse once it happened.
Raskin quoted from Thomas Paine, urging senators to use common sense when deciding whether to convict.
Senators, America, we need to exercise our common sense about what happened, he said. Lets not get caught up in a lot of outlandish lawyers theories here. Exercise your common sense about what just took place in our country.
Raskin concluded: Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered, but we have this saving consolation: The more difficult the struggle, the more glorious in the end will be our victory. Good luck in your deliberations.
Raskin closes with this Thomas Paine quote: “Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered, yet we have this consolation with us: that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.”

The impeachment trial took a dramatic turn on Saturday. Lead House impeachment manager Jamie Raskin opened the days proceedings by referencing Friday nights news reports that Trump and House minority leader Kevin McCarthy got into a shouting match on the phone while the Capitol riot was underway, and that during that conversation, Trump had not just refused to call off the rioters, but tried to leverage the riot to his benefit. In light of that news, Raskin said House managers wanted to call Washington State Representative Herrera Beutler the impeachment-supporting GOP congresswoman who had confirmed the call happened and said she had contemporaneous notes recording the details as a witness.
Trump lawyer Michael van der Veen opposed the request, and threatened to call for countless witnesses himself and drag out the trial as much as possible:
van der Veen explains that if House managers want witnesses, then “I’m going to need at least, over 100 depositions””Do not handcuff me by limiting the number of witnesses I can have,” he angrily says. “We should close this case out today.”

Republican Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, among six GOP senators who broke from the party to vote to proceed with Donald Trump‘s impeachment trial, said video footage from the Capitol insurrection showed “insurrectionists that tried to object to the peaceful transfer of power”.
“That should give anyone who loves our republic great pause,” he told reporters on Wednesday.
House impeachment managers on the second day of the former president’s impeachment trial included a comprehensive video timeline, aided by previously unreleased surveillance footage and police audio, revealing the scale of the assault on the Capitol on 6 January, and how close lawmakers and their staff came to violence.
Impeachment managers linked the former president’s months-long attempt to undermine election results as he courted violence from his supporters, exploding into a deadly insurrection fuelled by his false claims of voter fraud and conspiracy theories.
David Schoen and Bruce Castor: Who are Donald Trumps defense team?
The footage “reinforces my belief that it was a terrible day for our country, and that there’s no doubt that it was an attempt to disrupt the counting of the electoral votes”, said Senator Susan Collins, among Republicans who are expected to vote to convict the former president for inciting the insurrection during a joint session of Congress to certify the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Kamala Harris owes women the responsibility to regulate couture fashion even in spite of Biden.
Dear Vice Presidential Nominee Harris.  cc Media Editors
Rating : PG13/R
A premium cult tactic is controlling women; namely through their body; with the expectation this will indirectly control the men. In the past 4 years we have not seen Donald Trump make any effort to regulate the fashion industry. During the George W Bush Administration OSHA director Edwin Foulke Jr redirected me to market control at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). A CFDA or NY Labor making no effort to protect the models from the distorted visions of a largely homosexual group of haute couture designers. They are a cult of personality behind Dior and Balenciaga.
Balenciaga began designing such small waif clothes around 14 year old girls reportedly because he could not afford models. The haute couture genre believes it should continue shaping adult women into prepubescent /tween statured females and maybe not pay them either. That alone is dangerous for their health; not that the diet and antidepressant industry are concerned. In that room of silence is a group of models so eager to get-famous-for-nothing.. they'll also protect their sexual abusers, the eating disordered behavior THEY engineer to stay employed and the lead agencies like Foster Fell and Elite who treat their modeling fleet like a brothel; personal use or otherwise.
The models also remain silent about a very anticapitalist condition that their likenesses are used in multimillion dollar campaigns but their agencies continue to embezzle their commercial estate actively and passively. For one, the models.. allegedly with a debt to the agency.. are sent to unpaid events in limos and hotel bookings that add to their debt to the agency. It's luxury goods, There are no free bookings, no free lunches... certainly not by management of an agency owed money.  Women and men and every Citizen need to find fault in the model for not demanding her wages and being vocal in warning the public against the industry. Maybe she wont work again but the lawsuits of “owed debt” now are in the open and suspiciously put under a spotlight. Exactly why the agency does any unpaid work?
This is the trap. Magazines like Cosmopolitan and Vogue have continued to hide so the fashion industry could take its profits and its libido out on  naive girls that they have no respect for. Haute couture is misogyny and it is prescribed anorexia .. whether be or not the only form/ practice of anorexia. Haute couture normalizes anorexic thinness through male designer's false ideals of androgyny WITHOUT account to any physiological knowledge or limits of the female body. The couture designers also draw with a distorted pen and attempt to make models conform to those stretched alien shapes. Karl Lagerfeld is an offender of both and handed the industry's microphone to dismiss anorexia emptily and selecting models by his preferences of narcissism. He's had lots of models that call him a friend but his gifts just a payoff. He can put on a generous face and still be wrong.
Its the model's silence and her low standards for fame.. across this 'work plan' ..providing a reason the public shouldn't have respect for them or for the magazines that picture them. And that brings us to the 8 years of Obama and possible next four years of Biden.. The democrat party will do nothing again? Probably. The socalled ' protector of womens health avoid put the Department of Health and Human Services and OSHA in motion to regulate the fashion industry and charge the CFDA with negligence to unhealthy work conditions, sexual exploitation, and address creating the imagery with teen women in pedophilia; an image of a preteen stature being sexualized in adult imagery.  This debate is not to be offered to the fashion industry as ' fashion doesn't cause anorexia'. It does. It prescribes it on its models and its fans for ITS profit AND ITS attraction of new faces to abuse them. Fashion agencies thieve commercial earnings and refuse enforce payment on work.. from their clients  and leave them with nothing but loyalty to their agencies/men.
Former Elite Models management admit they knew Terry Richardson’s photography sessions were lewd opportunities for Richardson to be an opportunist' to rape , to molest any model sent to him. Aiding Richardson was his NYU-dropout baby momma normalizing an environment of models treated as “an object” instead of a female. This is the same 'assistant' that knelt in a garbage can, photographed  with the word 'slut' stenciled on her forehead just below her tiara while filating her boss. Some of Richardson’s tactics are actually Alexandra Bolotows trash level opinion of women. I choose be quoted here “Richardson shouldve stuck with inseminating the garbage can while it was empty to improve his quantifying of his family values.”
For the republicans, the whole base of you... when the time came to 'protect marriage'  the GOP chose money and luxury goods over church and faith. You all poorly invest. Its the bases error to protect fracking. Fracking is their poor investing in family and social health. Choose another field. Strike two.
It seems every time regulating in the validation of government authority is a responsible thing to do.. republicans avoid it. So republicans, have no seat in government if you have no cause to believe in it.,. And for democrats.. Kamala Harris especially: If Biden tries to yield and avoid regulate fashion.. obstruct, make sure the people know. I didn’t vote for him and I didn’t vote for trump. I would’ve voted for you, candidate Harris if you were the headliner. Geezer Biden has to own up to his party's lethargy. Obama and Howard Shapiro(US LABOR OIG) and NIOSH(not SAMHSA) and NY Labor and NY Health have to own up why they believe in the industry of rapists and malnutrition rather than teen employee safety. And why is it GLAAD and The Advocate remain silent in LGBT- couture designers abuse of women just because its 'luxury Eurotrash goods'? The evidence of the 'mental illness case'.. sadism is in question.  If LGBTQ is all about 'being yourselves' then let women be women and not faux transsexual norms still in a closet of the designers own insecurities?  Eternal youth , blah blah blah. Hedi Slimane owned up his model for the thinness was himself. That’s a male physiology; long known to endure lower BMI.
Couture: Be your person, be your age, be your gender and let others be themselves  BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER you choose them for a fashion campaign. End the Dior/Balenciaga standard , End Couture. Creativity doesnt die with it unless creativity was all in the crass bickering treasured in the fashion media's smear and self-entertaining mud. Female columnists abusing females (models) to declare their 'habitus' isn’t actually professional reporting. Its surely not yet called out a fleet of brands  apparently not very confident or able to design around curves. The so called elite of 'haute couture' are rather remedial stunts still stuck on embellishing stickfigures. The wealthy ought be paying less for couture than strip mall prices.
If trump wins, well he's got a mighty bad blemish in his claim he loves women. Loves to watch them be abused by his and John Casablanca's part in the fashion industry. If trump doesn’t win.. I'm giving republican fair warning that if fashion isn’t regulated by the first term of Biden by the sharp pointy stick of their heckling.. we can surely see no god is with their word or actions. Certainly hasn't been with them so far either. .. Nor should they show up for further elections. If they don't believe in government , they're disqualified from being in it.. It is the crux of their oath. Serving country before party; despite what they actually do.

hey there, bird so you wrote a post about bilingual characters a while back that references code switching and the deliberate change in language, and i've been thinking about that a lot because it's the exact opposite for me? like i'll say one (1) german word and suddenly everything's coming up deustch. i think that's really interesting, since tagalog doesnt share a root language with english but german does! thoughts?
OHHHH INTERESTING!!!! any and all thoughts i have on this are based on personal experience and not any real research (because all my reading on language is more on the semantics/cultural aspects of english or tagalog individually, and not together)
code switching is actually super common over here (**here being middle class metro manila, because other places and other sectors of the population definitely have different language patterns), but it’s heavily dependent on who we are talking to. which i will get to later but first i gotta explain. something.
like, if i had to say what language i speak most with most ease, i wouldnt actually say english or tagalog. i’d say taglish, the unholy code switching combination of the two. the thing with taglish thats different from what youre talking about is that with taglish, it is DEFINITELY not straight through and through from english to tagalog. every other word code switches. grammar and structure has to go through some hoops to accommodate both. we even adapt tagalog conjugations for english words, something that is SO INTERESTING TO ME (i.e. “to check” - tagalog conjugation for present tense - “chinicheck”. IT’S A DISASTER ISNT IT. esp when you take into account our conjugation goes past time and goes deeper into the purpose of the action, so. “to check” - conjugation for when you didnt really intend to do the action but you just joined in with other people who were doing that action - “nakipagcheck”. AND SO ON. WELCOME TO HELL.) (if youre interested in stuff like this, Filipino English and Taglish: Language Switching from Multiple Perspectives by Roger Thompson is a great read that goes very in depth in so many aspects of taglish, from word density to possible markers like age and tradition, etc.)
taglish is definitely not formal but it’s what i talk the most because 75% of the time im not formal talking anyway. i learned english and tagalog simultaneously, so this being my instinctive, subconscious go to makes sense!!
except when im talking to people who cant understand tagalog. then it’s straight english and i dont even strictly notice? the change? in my head i just know that itd be pointless and rather confusing to use words that my conversational partner would not know, lest they consent that it’s fine i use taglish/are trying to learn more tagalog. like it is, again, completely natural to go straight english whereas if i was talking to somebody who did speak tagalog, my switch to taglish would be just as natural. i dont feel a, like, a force? anywhere? the hardest thing i deal with when speaking straight english are my word fillers which are in tagalog/taglish slang (i.e. yung ano, anong tawag diyan, gets?, diba?) which CONSTANTLY slip out no matter how english im talking. when i was in singapore it took me like a whole hour to realize i was doing that and i only noticed because people asked me what the hell i was saying inbetween everything else i was saying shfjdhkf.
ive only ever written one bilingual character, and thats michael. my opinions on how he’d interact with language are a little different mostly because he’s a filipino in america, and fil-ams born in the US have the tendency to not have as much fluency in tagalog or other filipino languages their parents/family know. also, i really wanted to project my conyo taglish experiences onto him. so he speaks tagalog but goes taglish with jeremy because jeremy explicitly gives consent to him that it’s fine. had that consent not happened, i doubt michael wouldve spoke any tagalog to him, and it wouldnt have been too much of a hassle, aside from words that slip through, which, in his case, would be swear words. as the fic goes on, i stray from the simple tagalog/english thing and go even  to like the emotional weight of one language and the other, but thats a WHOLE OTHER THING TO DISCUSS
//vague hand gestures??? I HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE OMG??

Law Firm Marketing Fail (2019)
Tumblr media
I received a section of mail from an lawyer on Saturday. It can be a publication type of and that i wanted to head through it when you consider that I believe there’s various things that we are able to gain knowledge of from this. I think that this piece of mail particularly misses the mark and that i need to show you maybe some matters that I believe that they did improper. So if you are going to be doing physical mailers which honestly i am not a significant fan of, I consider within the internet that you would be able to get much more bang for your buck but when you’re enthusiastic about doing bodily mailers I want to exhibit you some suggestions that possibly will make it hit the mark just a little bit nearer on this guy did, determine it out. All right, so that is what I acquired in the mail. That is from Michael T. Gibson PA, he’s a, it says auto justice legal professional, i am assuming that is a private damage attorney, automobile accident attorney. Now the very first thing that doesnt make numerous feel to me is he is located in Orlando, Florida, now, i’m placed in Mulberry, Florida which is ready an hour and a half away.So i am now not precisely definite why or how i finished up in his mailing record. Orlando’s a really giant area so I dont know, you know, i am not rather sure of that however just form of, very first thing i’d look at it and say, why am I getting a flyer from an attorney in Orlando? So that is some thing you dont necessarily need humans right off the bat style of questioning why they may be getting what you are getting. Now, the opposite factor about this flyer is it’s sort of a publication, I need to exhibit you the structure of it.So they’ve bought an auto justice group hero application and it looks like they’re giving award and sort of spot lighting anyone whos accomplished some thing good locally and that i think that is nice. The difficulty i’ve with a variety of that is the formatting. I have no suggestion who Michael T. Gibson is, I didnt sign up for his newsletter but he sends me, he despatched me a e-newsletter. Now I nonetheless open it in view that I was once type of occupied with what it was but seem at this massive block of textual content right here. I’ve been watching at this factor, for this matters been sitting on my desk for a couple of days now and i’ve on no account learn it, it can be simply there’s too much textual content, i’m just now not fascinated about reading it. Now, let me exhibit you going further seem in any respect this text in here, it’s simply no one’s going to learn that, you understand, and it can be just not a excellent structure. No person’s going to read this, I recognize what he is seeking to do, he’s acquired, you realize, he sincerely wrote a weblog publish that he sends out and it’s 20 years later and the lessons I desire I knew. Now, this is the intriguing thing about this. He’s a personal harm legal professional, this web publication is set divorce and that’s kind of what he learned about with divorce. I dont realise, you recognize, lesson one, your loved ones and your children will not be valued at it, it is kind of about classes learned as he went by means of divorce or as he, you know, actually, i’m going to be sincere with you, I dont recognize precisely what it can be about on the grounds that i haven’t read the entire thing due to the fact that I just, I mean look at it that is giant blocks of textual content no one’s going to read this kind of thing. Now, what i’d advise, if you are taken with doing something like this I think that this is kind of a lesson in a method that it’s no longer going to work. You realize, what i might recommend alternatively is do anything that is particularly appealing, that is truly designed by a photograph fashion designer and may be very handy to digest. So what i would advise is take an information graphic and put it in a e-newsletter. So, for illustration, let me show you on my computer reveal right here, these are some info photos that now we have created for our clients. This one is driving security in big apple and basically what we did is we did some study, let me see if i can zoom in so you can absolutely see what is on here. See, you realize, we did some research, we had a graphic clothier do this and this factor bills us $forty, it didnt rate us that much but whilst you look at matters like this, it looks first-rate it is obtained fascinating knowledge in it. This may be much more mighty than a large block of text, , I imply these are simply far more appealing. Here is an extra one we did. Bad climate and teenage drivers, vehicle accident information, young adults and using, you know we now have images and its now not fancy portraits. I mean these are typically icons however what we did is we went to a website called upwork.Com and we discovered a photograph fashion designer from overseas.I think this guy is in, I consider he’s in India simply and, you already know, they devise these photographs for us. This is a further one, that is where I did this one, this one is, our client additionally does a police brutality, spoil down of citizens killed by using police in the us as of July, 2016. So we simply did some research and we created this fairly great picture and it appears way higher than anything like this and we certainly get plenty of shares and a variety of feedback on this sort of thing. So, take a appear at this, let me know, I dont recognize if i’m being somewhat harsh on this man, you know, let me understand, would you read this? And, you understand, what truthfully I’ve certainly not sent a section of mail that appears like this.So might be there is anything to it, I can’t imagine that there’s but what’s your experience been? Law Firm Marketing Fail (2019)
Tumblr media
I obtained a bit of mail from an lawyer on Saturday. It is a publication kind of and that i desired to head by means of it because I consider there is numerous matters that we will gain knowledge of from this. I feel that this piece of mail quite misses the mark and that i need to show you might be some things that I consider that they did incorrect. So if you’re going to be doing physical mailers which honestly i’m not a significant fan of, I believe in the web which you could get a lot more bang on your buck but when you’re fascinated about doing bodily mailers I want to show you some strategies that maybe will make it hit the mark a little bit bit closer on this man did, check it out. Very well, so this is what I acquired in the mail. That is from Michael T. Gibson PA, he is a, it says auto justice legal professional, i am assuming that’s a personal injury lawyer, vehicle accident lawyer. Now the first thing that doesnt make numerous experience to me is he is placed in Orlando, Florida, now, i’m located in Mulberry, Florida which is about an hour and a half away. So i am now not precisely definite why or how i ended up in his mailing list. Orlando’s a fairly enormous area so I dont know, you understand, i am not quite definite of that but just form of, very first thing i would look at it and say, why am I getting a flyer from an attorney in Orlando? So that’s whatever you dont always want folks proper off the bat sort of questioning why they’re getting what you’re getting. Now, the opposite factor about this flyer is it can be sort of a newsletter, I need to show you the format of it. So they’ve received an auto justice group hero application and it appears like they are giving award and type of spot lights someone whos performed something good in the community and that i believe that is nice. The obstacle i’ve with plenty of this is the formatting. I don’t have any concept who Michael T.Gibson is, I didnt sign up for his newsletter but he sends me, he despatched me a newsletter. Now I nonetheless open it on account that I was once type of thinking about what it used to be however look at this large block of textual content here. I’ve been watching at this factor, for this matters been sitting on my desk for a few days now and i’ve under no circumstances learn it, it can be just there may be an excessive amount of text, i am simply now not thinking about reading it. Now, let me exhibit you going additional appear in any respect this newsletter in right here, it can be just no one’s going to read that, you realize, and it’s simply no longer a good layout. No one’s going to read this, I comprehend what he’s looking to do, he’s got, , he clearly wrote a weblog put up that he sends out and it can be twenty years later and the teachings I desire I knew. I dont realise, you already know, lesson one, your household and your youngsters are not valued at it, it’s kind of about classes realized as he went via divorce or as he, you recognize, actually, i will be honest with you, I dont know precisely what it is about given that i haven’t learn the entire thing in view that I just, I mean look at it that is significant blocks of text no person’s going to read this kind of thing. So, you realize, so lesson two, divorces are zeros, some monetary reap, dont blow taken with nothing, I believe all this variety of stuff, restrict the collateral harm, I agree but I dont feel someone’s going to learn this and i might be very surprised if that is sincerely effective for him. Chiefly considering the fact that he, you already know, the day he is a personal damage legal professional and we’re reading a good now not even studying we’re type of just looking at a giant block of textual content that’s all talking about divorce. Now, what i would endorse, if you are excited about doing anything like this I feel that that is style of a lesson in a method that it can be not going to work. You recognize, what i would recommend rather is do some thing that’s rather appealing, that’s in reality designed by means of a photograph dressmaker and could be very effortless to digest. So what i might recommend is take an info graphic and put it in a publication. So, for illustration, let me exhibit you on my pc reveal right here, these are some information portraits that we now have created for our consumers. This one is driving security in ny and truly what we did is we did some study, let me see if i will zoom in so that you could in reality see what is on here. See, you recognize, we did some research, we had a graphic fashion designer do that and this thing fees us $40, it didnt cost us that much but whilst you look at matters like this, it looks first-rate it is received exciting information in it. This would be far more effective than a giant block of textual content, you understand, I mean these are just rather more attractive. This is yet another one we did. Dangerous weather and teen drivers, vehicle accident facts, teenagers and using, you recognize we have now snap shots and its not fancy snap shots.I imply these are customarily icons but what we did is we went to a internet site known as upwork.Com and we discovered a image clothier from abroad. i can remember going to like five bday parties
1. kid in preschool who invited pretty much everyone. all i remember was going up the driveway
2. kid in elementary school named tommy who didn't have hardly any friends, same. we went to the bowling alley and i'm sure that was great. i'm cool with bowling.
just remembered i had a kinda friend named sophia for a few years cuz our moms worked together or smthing. she was fun we just didnt see each other that much. also had a friend in early elementary school named michael who i enjoyed being around, which was rare i actively wanted to be friends with someone, he was cool too. i think he went to a different school after a couple of grades tho. another rare friend i wanted to be friends with was the one where we were both so quiet that im not even sure we spoke the same language, in a literal sense. but that was the one where one day i guess the teacher wanted to make an example out of a couple quiet kids who never did anything coz we were getting a kick out of looking at each other thru the holes in our folders and it wasnt even a lesson but i had to carry my assigned desk across the room and for someone who interprets attention as dangerous it was a trial for me though i pretended it was fine coz i have had a stubborn streak since old enough to have like any traits at all. other people i wanted to be friends with pre-college: josh, who i was friends with, but after we went to different schools and i found him on facebook he refused to talk to me coz he was going through a hardcore late emo phase i guess and i hope that part of his life has settled; emily, who was cute and friendly and we were acquaintances who shared classes but i never spoke to anyone and we never got a friendship going thru coincidence, saw her years later at my summer job and she seemed alive; arissa, who i was friends with and could goof around with but then we went to different schools and never had any contact since
3. a sorta friend from since-preschool, this one was pretty fun, it was a smallish sleepover and we watched a movie and did the thing where you pour some colors into a mold and bake ur own custom superball, there were fireflies too, her parents were nice.
4. a friend who had a pool party which was great b/c i like pools. accidentally gave her a present meant for my dad because they were the same size and i wrapped them together coz their birthdays are close together and i didnt even realize it until my dad opened the one meant for her a few days later. classic
5. a friend who went to a concert kind of but it was like a mom concert especially since her mom took us and it was fine but i dont count it as my first concert which was me sneaking off to see kesha. it was good except she hadnt ever said it was a birthday thing so i hadnt brought a gift and there was only one other person invited, who totally had. Classic
6. just remembered another one which was a elementary school friend for a couple years, all i remember really happening was using coloring books and she got really stressed about finding a marker she'd just gotten as a gift because her parents would be mad. also got stressed when something spilled i think. i recognized that pretty easily so im really assuming her parents were abusive too. she wasnt always that great a friend though and it made me mad, like one time in art class she asked my advice on how to fix flower stems she'd painted too wide and i said well all i could really think to do was use some white paint on it, and when she did that and the paint didnt opaquely cover up what she'd painted she got mad at me and for some reason stole my scissors to get even with me for ruining her painting. third grade me didnt think that was cool. plus she always took half my sandwich at lunch, like, bro. but that wasnt as annoying as the time a friend in middle school who was one of the only people to actually hang out with me was not only going thru a period of not hanging out with me but also only talking to me to get my math homework to copy from during lunch. and then one day she didnt even give it back before lunch and our next period was math and anyways i was upset about getting a zero but then i didnt care pretty quickly. she was pretty nice anyway. and i came to give like rock bottom amt of shits abt school within time so looking back im definitely not even mad. that scissors thing was still out of line tho by contrast
thrillingly i thought of that topic coz once i tagged along to a bday party of one of my sister's friends, my sister being a person who actually has friends. it was pretty fun and it was just backyard running around and one of them let me race them around in circles on a bike, which i recognized as gracious from a kid three years older. i think that was where my sister got a plastic cup that looked like a coconut that my mom took and threw away later to punish her for whatever and i remember coz my sister cared enough about it to ask her not to throw it away but of course that doesnt work
i had a bday party once? in elementary school. i guess we saw a movie but im not sure what it was. and it was a sleepover so apparently i couldnt invite my friends who were boys, which was at least half of the precious few of them, which i thought was dumbassed as hell, on account of it was. plus for like weeks in advance my mom threatened to cancel it for whatever thing of the day was pissing her off. probably not playing piano for thirty minutes a day which i never wanted to do but for some reason had to do for years because i made the mistake of wanting to do the thing my sister was when i was like five and a clueless fucko. and we owned a piano. idk why my mom gave a shit that if we showed any interest in learning we Had to, for 30 min a Day which is an eternity in kid time, and also we couldnt stop. that was a weird thing that i forget about. i forget about 86% of my life and 93% of the first third or two because there is not much worth remembering as you can imagine. i mean, its mostly there in my memory, its just hard to pull up anything unless i have a specific reminder of a certain memory or else just try really hard i guess. i'm just out here, who knows what was going on back then. besides bs

The folks behind Ant-Man and the Wasp on why Marvel doesn't always have to save the world

The folks behind Ant-Man and the Wasp on why Marvel doesn't always have to save the world
Tumblr media
Ant-Man and the Wasp, the latest trip to the corner of the Marvel universe where small things become big and big things become small, is perhaps the studio’s fluffiest movie yet — something that might seem like a strange choice in the wake of April’s Avengers: Infinity War, which ended on a dark, downbeat cliffhanger that still has superhero movie fans buzzing.
But the film turns out to be a fun palate cleanser before Marvel moves on to whatever’s next. It’s funny, sure, but it also uses a genuinely new story structure in the Marvel universe, relying less on a villain than on a series of factions all battling for the same thing: access to the Quantum Realm.
Instead of the fate of the universe, what’s at stake is the reunion of the Pym/Van Dyne family, as Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and the Wasp, a.k.a. Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), search for the original Wasp, the long-lost Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), Hope’s mom and Hank’s wife. Meanwhile, Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) gets roped into their schemes, even as he’s supposed to be under house arrest.
The movie laces all of these complications with its typical sly sense of humor and a love for big, ridiculous moments. That made it a great time to talk with Marvel head honcho, Kevin Feige (the man who’s produced all of Marvel Studios’s movies, stretching back to 2008’s Iron Man), and director Peyton Reed.
First, Feige and I talked about the evolution of the MCU, as well as the company slowly trying on dramatic stakes smaller than “the fate of the universe is at stake.” (If you want to read his thoughts on Black Panther as an Oscar contender, they’re over here.) Both interviews have been edited for length and clarity.
Todd VanDerWerff
The deeper you get into the MCU, the more that each corner of the universe kind of has its own ensemble cast. So many characters live in the Ant-Man corner of the universe by the end of this movie, and so many of them are fun to hang out with. What does building those ensembles that are almost separate from the overall Marvel ensemble bring to what you’re doing?
Kevin Feige
It’s a great compliment and a great signal that work that’s been done is appreciated when people ask, “When are we going to see this new character?” This character I had never heard of before two hours ago, I’ve now watched and I want to know when they’re showing up again.
It always varies. But there’s a shot in this movie where some characters run out of the front of a building. There’s a shot with like six, seven characters in the frame. And you’re right, it’s sort of the Ant-Man ensemble. And some of them we have plans and know where they’re coming from and going. Others we love now, and as the audience tells us they love them, we want to find where to put them.

Todd VanDerWerff
Janet Van Dyne’s such an important character in Marvel comics history, and we really don’t get to see that much of her in this movie, comparatively. Did you just want to offer a very short tease of her character?
Kevin Feige
The idea was always this was going to be the search for Janet. But seeing her at the beginning of the movie in a certain time period, and then finding her in the second half of the movie was great, because the cover of [1963’s] Avengers No. 1 is now complete. Loki, Hulk, Thor, Ant-Man, Wasp, they’re all there. They’re all accounted for now in the films, which does feel like a fun milestone for us.
Todd VanDerWerff
The technology from the early scene where Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer look like they did in the ’80s, that’s been around for a few years now, and the first few times I saw it, it looked so plastic to me. But it’s gotten so much better. How has that tech developed?
Kevin Feige
I can’t speak to whatever the software and the specific technology is, but I know that that tech has evolved and the artists and the visual effects houses that do that work for us have gotten much more refined. And it’s also about biting off what you can chew with it. But those shots in the house of Michael and Michelle are pretty astounding.
The other question is, would you ever do a whole film like that? And the answer is, we already are. Sam Jackson plays a 25-years-younger Nick Fury in Captain Marvel for the whole movie.
Tumblr media
Ant-Man gets really big.
Marvel Studios
Todd VanDerWerff
What’s interesting to you about spending time in the MCU’s past?
Kevin Feige
It’s really about servicing the story of the particular film you’re watching. The bonus is filling in that broader mythology, filling in that broader timeline of the MCU.
I’m a fan of that. I’m a fan of deep mythologies and that the more interest you have in something, the deeper you can go and look into it. It’s got to work on a surface level — this is just a prologue to the movie I’m watching. But also, if you want to go deeper, you can see how it all connects.
We’ve done that for many years and we’re going to continue to do that because I find it fun and entertaining. You almost always, in a story, have a reason to discuss a past event or discuss something that has influenced whatever the actual plot is of the movie.
Todd VanDerWerff
Outside of Infinity War, the stakes of your recent movies have been getting smaller and more personal. Black Panther’s about fighting for one country. This is about reuniting one family. How have you made the choice to shrink those stakes?
Kevin Feige
You can’t save the world every time. [Spider-man] Homecoming isn’t about saving the world, either. It’s about saving a plane full of stuff and the father of your girlfriend.
We always look for having enough stakes that there feels like gravitas, but sometimes that can be just because you’re going to lose your father or lose your parent or find your loved one. Or in the case of Ghost [in Ant-Man and the Wasp], dissipate completely. Or, sometimes it’s about stopping the madman with the gauntlet who wants to wipe out half of everything. I like that.
But whether it’s saving the entire universe or saving a country or a city block or a loved one, the stakes have to feel huge to the audience because that’s where, not only the entertainment value, but the emotional connection comes. So I think we’ll continue to try to vary that.
Todd VanDerWerff
It feels like the ending of Infinity War really changed the conversation around Marvel. People are really trying to outguess how you’re going to continue that story in Avengers 4 next year. Do you feel a pressure to live up to that conversation?
Kevin Feige
There’s always pressure. Infinity War itself and earning that ending was pressure. I got very nervous in the days beforehand. Like what are audiences going to do? And it’s the best reaction. My favorite reaction is, “I hated it, but I loved it.” And when you can have characters that most moviegoing audiences didn’t know three years ago, five years ago, 10 years ago, and have an emotional reaction like that, it’s very gratifying.

Director Peyton Reed (left) with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly on the set of Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Marvel Studios
When he was brought in to direct 2015’s Ant-Man at the last minute — shortly after original director Edgar Wright left the project and with only a few weeks until production — Peyton Reed might not have seemed the most likely director for a superhero movie. His work on movies like Bring It On, Down With Love, and The Break-Up marked him as a terrific director of visual comedy, sure. But a superhero movie?
And yet Reed turned out to be just what Ant-Man needed, giving the character’s whole ridiculous corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe the feel of a candy-coated confection. Ant-Man, as Reed says, “shrinks, and he flies around on an ant.” So why not bring in somebody so adept with slapstick and goofy visual humor?
Reed has returned for Ant-Man and the Wasp, but this time, he was in the planning process of the film from its earliest days. He talked with me about drawing inspiration from unlikely sources in constructing the movie’s story and what he looks for in a visual comedy.
Todd VanDerWerff
You mentioned at an earlier press conference that you wanted this movie to have a feeling like an Elmore Leonard novel, and that really made what this movie is trying to do snap into place for me. Where do you find that Venn diagram intersection between Leonard and superheroes, which are such different things?
Peyton Reed
The first Ant-Man movie was a heist. And the very beginning of formulating the story for Ant-Man and the Wasp, we knew the spine of the story was that partnership and are they going to be able to work together.
But we wanted to kind of stay in the general crime genre, so we really started talking about Elmore Leonard novels, and then talking about movies like Midnight Run or After Hours, movies that had a very finite time period, and a very clear goal and that goal is complicated by rivals, and antagonists, and double-crossing, and all that stuff. It felt like, “That’s something I really haven’t seen in a Marvel movie, and it feels like the tone of the Ant-Man universe.”
It led us to, obviously, the Sonny Burch character [Walton Goggins], and it led us to the idea of Hank and Hope being on the run and being estranged from Scott and having this portable lab. It opened up us being able to use the Pym particle technology in different ways, not just shrinking and growing people, but vehicles and buildings and stuff.
It wanted to be a ticking clock in a finite amount of time. I’ll go back as far as Buster Keaton, Seven Chances. Maybe the original ticking clock movie. “If you’re not married by 7 pm on your 27th birthday, you won’t get the inheritance.”
Another big influence was What’s Up, Doc?, the Peter Bogdanovich movie, with the cases that get confused, but also just the crazy chase in San Francisco. So that really was that vibe we were after.
Tumblr media

Todd VanDerWerff
It’s not that the movie doesn’t have a villain so much as it has a bunch of competing factions, and all of the “villains” have fairly understandable reasons for what they’re doing. And that’s a break from Marvel’s usual template. How did you develop that? Did you get any pushback from Marvel?
Peyton Reed
It came out of that Elmore Leonard or Midnight Run structure, which is a bunch of obstacles and antagonists and things. Ghost happens to be the most formidable, and the most powerful, and obviously has a personal connection to our heroes. That was intriguing. Once we landed on Ghost, her powers in the comics seemed intriguing as something that could be formidable for Ant-Man and the Wasp as a team. It wasn’t like “another hero shrinks or grows.” It was a whole different power set.
And very few people, percentage-wise, know who Ghost is in the comics, so we’re free to change up this character as much as want, so we decided to do a gender swap, and really have it sit more in the tone of our story. It was very Elmore Leonard that it was not just one thing. [Ghost is] the chief thing that’s standing in their way, but even [Ghost] is foiled by Sonny Burch and all these people.
I always like villains where you understand what their motivation is and you sympathize with it, and as powerful as she is, she’s a victim, and her powers are really more of an affliction than anything else. That seemed interesting, story-wise.
Todd VanDerWerff
You were on this one from the beginning. How did that change the process compared to the first one?
Peyton Reed
It was really great to be in from the very beginning of the formulation of the story. Obviously, I had more prep time to do all the technical stuff, but it was really about being involved in the story from the beginning. I mean, on the first movie, we came in and Edgar [Wright] and Joe [Cornish] had a heist movie formula in place, which was really great, but when [Adam] McKay and [Paul] Rudd and I came in, there was stuff we really wanted to change and open up. We wanted to introduce the Quantum Realm, which wasn’t originally in it, and we wanted to deal with Janet Van Dyne, because McKay and I were fans of the original Ant-Man and Wasp, and really double down on the family story, and the emotionality of it.
I just wanted to increase the emotionality of it. Same with this movie. It was nice to decide from the beginning what the starting point for these characters in this movie is and how we progress them.
Tumblr media
Hannah John-Kamen stars as the mysterious and dangerous Ghost.
Marvel Studios
Todd VanDerWerff
The Ant-Man movies are really built around father-daughter relationships, and you have three of them in this movie, effectively. What makes that relationship a good one to build the emotional and personal depth of these films around?
Peyton Reed
The Scott-Cassie relationship is so crucial to both movies. And in the comics, Cassie Lang ends up becoming a hero as she gets older. So it was fun to plant maybe some of the seeds for that, seeing her cover for her dad, and do some things that were pretty decisive. She’s the one who figures out that he’s Ant-Man again and all these things really deepen that bond.
But one of the major things that separates Scott and Hope is that Scott has a great deal of ambivalence about being a hero, not because he doesn’t like it, but because it’s only brought trouble and jeopardizes his relationship with his daughter. He’s not sure he can find this work-life balance to make them both work. Throughout the course of the movie, hopefully he does.
And with the Hank-Hope thing, we had an opportunity here, because there’s so much antagonism between the two of them in the first movie, and now that that’s resolved, starting them off in a place where they’re working together on this very specific and very personal thing. It’s so great to see the genius scientist and his genius daughter working together. That was a whole different dynamic.
When it came time to formulate the story of Ghost and Bill Foster, though they’re not literally father and daughter, metaphorically they are. He’s definitely taken a very paternalistic position in her life, and that just felt right, and it was in keeping with the theme of our movies.
Todd VanDerWerff
Your filmography’s full of great visual humor, sight gags, things like that. That’s unique among comedy directors nowadays. What makes a great visual gag, to your mind?
Peyton Reed
I always liked comedic movies that took the visuals seriously. There’s certain comedies where it just feels like they’re recording people being funny, and maybe they want to light it pretty, but it’s not visual comedy. That’s always been important to me just in terms of the kinetics of the movie, and my favorite comedy directors have always done that.
I do feel like inherently there is a funny way to shoot a scene, there’s a funny way to move the camera or not move the camera, and not like an in your face kind of “Hey, hey, hey. This is funny.” But just the timing and the editing.
I started out working as an editor, and it’s amazing to get a scene that is designed to be funny, and you see a cut of it, where it’s like, “Well, this is not funny.” Then you spend time in the editing room, and it becomes funny. It’s like music. It’s rhythmic. If the rhythm is off, it’s not funny. That’s always been really important to me, because it’s not a radio show. It’s a movie. There’s got to be consideration for where the camera is.
Todd VanDerWerff
This movie is indebted to San Francisco, with many sequences built around San Francisco landmarks. What was appealing to you about giving this movie such a sense of place in that regard?
Peyton Reed
I always like movies that have a really strong sense of place, and so much of the first movie takes place in Pym’s house, and in the Pym Tech laboratories that I really wanted to try and open this up more.
We knew we were in San Francisco, and it’s such a specific city in terms of the geography and the topography. Let’s design action sequences that take the best advantage of shrinking and growing, and also how insane the hills are in San Francisco and Lombard Street, and all these landmarks, and do a chase that could really only exist in that city, have fun with it, and photograph it on location as much as we can afford to do in this movie. I’m very happy about that aspect of the movie.

Tell me a little bit about creating the effects for Ghost, who frequently seems to exist in multiple probable versions of herself. I’m not sure how much you had to record multiple takes to get those apparitions.
Peyton Reed
There’s a lot of R&D. We had them do tests and things, and we knew generally what we wanted, but we also wanted to kind of be surprised, and there were a lot of different versions of the effect. It’s also trying to get them to look dimensional and not 2D. Some effects we tried early on felt too much like an old TV fritzing or Max Headroom or something like that.
When we finally landed on the effect we did, it had to tie in with the visuals of the Quantum Realm, because it’s quantum-based, and it wanted to be about light, and it wanted to be prismatic. It also wanted to kind of honor the notion of just the name Ghost.
What we would do is we do the different takes, and sometimes we’d pick the hero take of Hannah [John-Kamen], and then use portions of that take and portions of other takes where she’s doing different things, and it was really fun to see sometimes the ghosting get ahead of her. Or if it’s way behind her, it really had a weird, chilling, off-putting effect. It really was trial and error.

What do you like about working in the Quantum Realm?
Peyton Reed
I love it visually, and I also love that it’s virtually infinite in terms of the possibilities. It was something that we spent a lot of time not only developing visually but story-wise, how much of the Quantum Realm could this particular movie contain? How much do we show? What do we not show? It was the subject of endless discussion with the writers and trying to figure out.
We’d seen a glimpse of it, obviously, in the first movie. But also [we had to create] the internal logic of — Scott made it a certain way down and ended up in this weird void in the first movie that felt like he’d come back from this. And then we discover throughout this movie that maybe if you puncture through the void, there’s a whole other thing on the other side. Maybe that’s where Janet is. It was fun to create the internal logic of the quantum realm.

I think the third one’s got to have a giant tardigrade as the villain.
Peyton Reed
An evil tardigrade. Yeah.

All Marvel movies have humor in them, but these movies it feels like hit the comedic scale a little bit more. Is that just because the idea of small things becoming big and big things becoming small has that inherent comedic energy to it?
Peyton Reed
It’s Ant-Man. He shrinks, and he flies around on an ant. It feels like the appropriate tone.
All the action sequences come from a comedic place. We sit around and talk about the funniest uses of this technology, and the visual comedy of it, which is why I think we talked about things like What’s Up, Doc? and the Buster Keaton movies, because it’s a visual comedy.
Also, Scott Lang is the everyman of the MCU. He’s not a genius, he’s not a billionaire. He’s just an average person who’s made some bad mistakes, and is trying to just live his life that feels good and be there for his daughter, and maybe also be a hero. He’s surrounded by these geniuses and he’s always a half step behind, and that’s fun.
Ant-Man and the Wasp opens in theaters Friday, July 6, with preview screenings Thursday, July 5.

"Hey Michael get up!! Mom and dad are waiting down stairs for breakfast" Lucifer knocks on my door to wake me up.
I don't want to get out of bed, I would rather stay in bed all day but have no other choice or else Lucifer will come back again. Lucifer is home from College for the weekend
"Castiel, are you up?" I knock on my younger brothers door.
"Yeah come on in, what's up Michael?" Castiel asks me as I walk into his bedroom and lay flat on his bed.
"Could you go down stairs and tell mom and dad I'm not feeling well." I look up to the ceiling not facing him.
"Michael what's wrong" Castiel asks me while sitting at the foot of the bed that's when Gabriel comes into the room lands on top of me and rolls over to my left side.
That kid is getting heavier by the day if you ask me.
"Big bro here is suffering his first heart break and can't get the images of Anna Milton and Dean Winchester doing the ugly last night" Gabriel says while I lay there glaring at him but that doesn't help to make Gabriel shut up.
"Oh Michael I am so sorry, Anna was really" Gabriel cuts off Castiel
"A whore and a bitch yeah I know." Usually I would cut off Gabriel for talking bad about Anna but didn't have it in me.
"I wasn't going to say that, I was going to say she is tedious and vile. Michael I don't know why your so broken up about her, think about it more of a favour" Castiel advises me while I lay there but he is right, I just thought something real was there.
"Ladies come on mom and dad are still waiting" Lucifer says but I'm not going to bother with a retort.
"Fine, lets go Gabriel. Ill bring something for you after I finish with breakfast" Castiel closes the door, he always had a good heart.
I lay there in my own pity but I'm allowed one day to myself and I don't see why not it would be today since its only Saturday, no football practice till Monday.
Fuck Monday, the day I have football practice with Winchester. Fuck it I’ll just go, no point in hiding. In a few weeks I will be graduating and go on to college. I didn't know how long I was laying on my brothers bed until he came into the room.
"Here mom said to give you this bagel and OJ" he says while setting them both on his night stand.
I sit up to take the juice to take a sip. When the cool liquid hits my throat and quenches my thirst.
"Thanks, and thanks for covering for me to. I just want a day for myself" I look to Castiel and he looks at me while he tilts his head sideways which I think he looks like a 4 year old trying to understand what I'm telling him.
"Have a day to yourself, you mean by hiding in my room from mom and dad good job with that" I couldn't help but laugh at the idea and he has a bright smile on his face.
I spend the entire morning having a conversation with my brother, this is what I needed to hang out with him. I rarely do but he is good company.
"Hey you want to join y/n and I while we go to the record store?" Castiel asks me to come along with him and his best friend since day care and who happens to be Deans younger sister.
I wouldnt mind spending the day with her since I have taken a liking to her and cant help feelings.
"Um yeah I don't see why not I mean I haven't gone out to get some new music lately" I accept his offer and I get off from his bed to take a shower.
"Good I’ll send her an IM to let her know" He tells me while I walk out his room to come into mine to have my toiletries ready.
CJS25: hey I thought I would let you know I invited my brother Michael to come along with us to the record store. Hope that is ok
TheNrmlWinchester: Michael? Hhmm weird. I don't mind the more the merrier :D
CJS25: yeah I know but Smaug practically ruined him so I just want to do something for him since he is my brother after all. Wouldn't you do the same for yours?
TheNrmlWinchester: ohh yeah I heard about that. Walkers party right? Well don't worry I'm totally kicking his ass right now, Dean not Sam. Sam is a harmless nerd.
CJS25: right like your not any nerdier haha
TheNrmlWinchester: hey Im the way cooler nerd than Sam. Anyways I got to get ready and ill text you when I'm done. Later Clarence :p
CJS25: oh god! Yeah see you later snow flake :)
While you log out of your instant message account you wonder why Cas has called you snow flake, you would need to ask him that later. As of right now you needed to let Dean know that he is a dick, douche, asshat and what Cas always says assbutt for sleeping with Anna and Michael walking in on them and basically ruining him and Lisa poor girl doesnt know what she is in for. Stupid Dean you mutter to yourself as you walk out of the room.
*********************************
"Y/N!!!! Hurry up I need the bathroom." Dean pounds on the door almost knocking it out of its hinges.
"SHUT UP!! GO PUKE OUTSIDE!!" You yell back to Dean and hear him mutter something as he rushes down the stairs and your sitting there taking your time getting out of the shower.
“I think I'm done torturing him for the day” You mutter to yourself as you walk out of the bathroom and met on the other side is your dad.
Oh boy you were in for it now but you see a smile slowly forming
"That's my girl teaching your brother a lesson for staying out late” Dad says to you and he sounds proud for it.
"Of course. As the youngest it's my job daddy" you smile to your dad to peck him on the cheek to get to your room to finish up.
"Ok, now time to text Cassie" you mutter to yourself as you pick up your phone, slide the screen, put in Cas' number
"hey I'm ready. Meet up at our usual spot?" After you sent the text you walk out of your room to head down stairs to wait for text back from Cas.
You reach the kitchen to find Sam putting the dishes away and Dean washing the pots.
"What's up turd face and turd nugget" you tease your brothers when you enter the kitchen.
"Niblette" Sam retorts back.
"Where you off to?" Dean asks from the sink.
"I'm going to hang out with Cas and Michael today" your phone goes off after telling your brothers who you will be hanging with.
Cas: actually Michael is going to drive and we will be there in a few minutes to pick you up. Ill let you know when we are outside.
You: ok sounds good. By the way Dean looks skittish after I told him and Sam I will be hanging out with Michael to :) I'm still kicking ass by the way.
Cas: Haha. Maybe you can finally tell my brother about your feelings than :)
You: maybe you can finally ask Meg out :)
Cas: I hate you
You: I know I love you to
After you sent your text you had a smile on your face telling Cas off after he mentioned your feelings for Michael but it was only a crush it wasn't like you stood a chance with him.
Michael is a senior and will be going off to college soon. You were a sophomore in high school along with Cas, while your brother Sam is a junior and Dean a senior.
"Michael?" Both of your brothers say in unison.
“As in Michael Sinclair?” Sam asks as he puts the pot in its rightful place
"Yeah what's wrong with that?" You ask back to your brothers while glaring at them
"Nothing, I'm just surprised ok." Sam says holding up his hands in surrender.
You look to Dean but cut him off before he says anything.
"Dean I don't care what your going to say. You did what you did and that's done just dont tell me you are dating Anna" you say to Dean while he has a surprised look on his face.
"No, not dating her, it was a drunken mistake. I feel bad ok and I just feel bad ok. I mean I don't even know how to tell Lisa" Dean says in defeat.
"Well you figure that out on your own and I don't like what you did to Lisa plus I really like her, just grow a damn pair and tell her before she finds out from someone else. You know how school is, one thing happens and spreads like wild fire" you tell Dean almost yelling at him.
"Fuck, yeah yeah ok" Dean says in defeat and takes his phone out to call Lisa to hang out or something. Your phone goes off
Cas: we are outside
You: ok coming out
You tell Sam to let your parents know who you will be hanging out with and he nods.
You grab your house key by the door and head outside to Cas and Michael. You get into the back seat.
"Hey Cas, Michael" you say while closing the door and buckling your seat belt.
"Hello y/n" Michael says looking in the mirror
"Hey y/n" Cas says turning his head and you smile at the both of them.
"Y/n give me your iPod, I would rather listen to yours than mine or Michaels" Cas says while he reaches out for you to hand over your iPod, you reach into your shoulder bag to grab it and give it to Cas.
"Hey my music isn't that bad" Michael says looking offended over to Cas, you sit in the back seat giggling.
"Cas what's wrong with your music?" You ask Cas
"I don't have mine, forgot it on the table on the way out" Cas says while turning on the blue tooth and plays Modern Man by The Arcade Fire.
"Plus you always have the better music, why do you think I give you my iPod to add music" Cas says turning to look at you.
"Again what's wrong with my music? And y/n what kind of music do you have on your play list anyways?" Michael asks Cas again and looking to you about your play list.
"Your music contains rap music that shouldn't be called music at all plus when did you even start listening to rap music anyways? You had better taste before you started dating Anna. Oh my god she got you into it didn't she?" Cas talks about his taste of music while Michael has a smile on his face but fades at the mention of Anna.
"Yeah some of it and the rest just were catchy afterwards. So where are we going first?" Michael looks to Cas and to you.
"Let's go to Cain's Cafe first" you say from the back seat as you lean forward to make sure Michael or Cas heard you.
"Uh I don't know, what if" you cut off Michael before he can even finish his sentence
"Don't worry about it, I'm pretty sure everyone else is still sleeping trying to recover from last night" You tell Michael reassuring him or try to put his mind at ease.
"Y/n is right Michael plus I really want a caramel iced cappuccino especially from Cain's cafe" Cas agrees with you while you have a smile on your face.
"Yeah ok, how come you two weren't at the party last night?" Michael asks out of nowhere looking between us as he parks in front of the cafe.
"I would rather hang out somewhere else far away from my brother. Thank you very much" they both laugh at your comment.
You and Cas were at Ash's party and you bumped into Lisa and Rachel and hung out with them all night while Cas was flirting with Meg all night. It's been forever he has had a crush on her and you always wondered why he never asked her out but you hope it would be soon.
"We were at Ash's party last night, Andy pulled out his stash and almost got everyone high with the brownies he made. Y/n didn't you have a brownie?" Cas asks as we get out of the car to walk inside.
"Castiel you go inside while I have a talk with y/n" Michael cuts you off before you could even answer Cas's question and he nods than heads inside to seat himself at a table to wait for us to come inside.
"What did you want to talk to me about?" You turn to look at Michael
"I just want to thank you for allowing me to hang out with you and Castiel. I hope we have days like these from now on well if you don't mind" You were shocked to hear Michael say this but couldn't agree to all of it because you wanted to know how Cas would feel if his brother would hang out with us from now on.
