23. how do you deal with writers block?
just starting right out the gate with the hardest question on the list, huh 😂 the honest answer is "a lot of ways" and "it depends on where i'm at in the story".
but some of those ways are:
finding a song that fits the vibe and listening to it on repeat for hours while trying to write
going back and reading what i've already written. this one works best if i start from like... the beginning, or very early in the story. i'll pick back up all the story beats and threads i was laying down and going back over them will help me untangle whatever mess i've made and figure out where i need to go next to make it build right.
writing down scene titles / story events on physical flash cards and rearranging them in different orders in front of me (sitting on the floor and shoo'ing away my cat) to find if i'm missing pieces or what order makes the most sense
stepping away from it for a while so it can percolate in the back of my brain
forcing myself to sit in front of it and get words out
the rubber duck debugging system (talk to someone about it, ideally someone not even in the fandom, and in the process figure out what the issue is or what i need to write next, typically before they even have a chance to chime in)
read something with a somewhat related trope that either inspires me or leaves me so pissed off that i just have to go and continue my story
one piece of advice i've never seen elsewhere: be clear / have solid lines between stories you have no intention to finish vs. ones that are still breathing, even if you're not making much progress on them or doing it quickly. give your mental energy, even if it's just percolation in the back of your mind (yes, percolate like a coffee maker), to the stories you are committed to completing
65. what is your favourite title for a fic you’ve written?
ooh okay so i'm both pretentious af and lazy af about titles. i sort of get stuck on the first one that comes to mind or gels with the story and then don't overthink it.
my runner up would be Architecture of Choice. it's only an honorable mention because, outside the fic itself, it makes me think of where it came from, which is choice architecture within behavioral decision theory, and that's way more technical and related to my day job than i want to be thinking about when writing fic.
so my actual favourite fic title i've written for spn is this pretentious monstrosity: Rusted H(u)e(w)
Like... who the fuck writes a title like that? I do, apparently. because the words came to me somewhat spontaneously like they always do for a title, but then when i went to write them i had "error 404 file not found" for if my brain was supplying "rusted hew" or "rusted hue". so i had to make it both. which fits the the story - not just each of the two readings but also the choppy, inelegant way in which they're spliced together. so i'm pleased with it anyway.

OH MY STARS YOU’RE WRITING AGAIN?!???!!!??????? THIS MIGHT BE THE MOST EXCITING NEWS I’VE HAD THIS MONTH!!!!!!!! Igkdnhidksjdkpfkejs
A question, forgive me if it’s been asked before, is there *any* chance that you might write a sequel to got a melancholic temperament? I was doing a reread the other day and it was just so fosofiakdidkfkdkekfkdicjgkvobodkakfkgkvifidiekdkfivdiddicokspsgkckvoejanamfgogiejdgoocisisodcoxnaj
Ahem. Just casually curious 😎
❤️❤️❤️
Less like writing again and more like reading back over my old unfinished pieces and seeing if there's any that still spark joy or require only minimal effort to finish and post 😂😅
I've also been writing this whole time just for supernatural instead of coldflash but shhh let's pretend I never betrayed coldflash
A sequel for melancholic temperament?? I'm genuinely trying to imagine what the plot would be??
One of the things I'm weird about with my longer coldflash works is always trying to end on a note of finality, one that makes things feel relatively wrapped up (some of them even get epilogues lol). So it's hard to imagine a "what next" for me because the core conflict and plot points should, in theory, be resolved.
For melancholic temperament... Obviously the age regression is fixed, and Len and Barry are still in this new fresh space but they're both approaching it from mutual understanding, and Len is accepted by the Wests.
There's the Flash detractors as the maybe obvious narrative thread that's out there dangling, and Barry with Mick and the other Rogues could provide some narrative juice. That's the most of what I can think of though?
I like to write around a developing romance because I'm a sucker for it, but in a sequel case, it would be more an established relationship thing? which isn't my usual bag except for short fics. I like to resolve a narrative at the point at which we know the characters are affirmed in their commitment to each other, partly because I tend to see commitment as an "all in" thing, so the tension of "will these crazy kids overcome the odds to make it together" is dispelled.
(not that stories about falling out and getting back together aren't interesting -- I actually really enjoy them when done well -- it's just that that's not what I've aimed for with any of my coldflash works)
But unless the sequel was a heavily plot-centric work, there would need to be some coldflash relationship ups and downs. I'm not a fan of manufacturing drama and miscommunication among characters who ought to be somewhat reasonable human beings, so any strife would have to feel earned and authentic. And I'm not sure how I would go about that?? Sure it's all new and fresh and there's a lot of potential hiccups but at the end of Melancholic Temperament was supposed they were supposed to be in a place where we (the audience) were confident they'd weather whatever came next okay.
And while I could (and likely would have to) tie their ups and downs to the Flash detractors stuff, it feels (at present, without concrete ideas to anchor it) sort of laden-on? In a "Barry can't catch a break" sort of way?
I don't know, I'm genuinely trying to think it through but there's nothing concrete for me to latch on to as a vision for how it would take shape. I could see an unrelated story in a canon divergent setting specifically interested in the Flash detractors concept, examining meta protestors and stigma and the Flash's role as this dual symbol of justice and subjugation, but that would have more room to grow as a standalone than a sequel?
Did you have something in mind for what a sequel would include?

I am terrible at finding fics so I am once again asking you lovely people for help. not sure if I am just not searching hard enough or if this story was deleted. but anyway I think Len got de-aged somehow and the West-Allen household was taking care of him. Len of course was smitten with Barry. there was a lot of good back and forth but when they did finally have sex, the next morning Len was back to his normal age again. I think at one point Barry was afraid he was Len's first but Len assured him he wasn't.
Edit: the wonderful fic in question is Got A Melancholic Temperament (that's what they said to me) by @coldtomyflash

So I finally finished it! My hand bound copy of Got A Melancholic Temperament (that’s what they said to me) by @coldtomyflash (aka RedHead on ao3).
It’s not perfect, I messed up on the inside spine a little bit, but I’m really happy with how the cover and the little window for the title came out.

Muffins Ennea ADDENDUM:
Tumblr media
I wasn’t planning on making a follow-up to that post, but mama/dada’s got some ideas cooking. Mama? Dada? What’s the non-binary version of mama? Nvm, it would sound cringe. I think I’d rather misgender myself than call myself a ‘zaza’ lmao. 😭
Anyway, that post was kinda dogshit. I mean, I stand by a lot of what I said, but I also don’t. So, this is my full personality profile of the bakers!
So, let’s go over the conclusions I made last time:
Pinkie Pie: Enneagram 7w6 with a SP instinct.
Inkie Pie: Enneagram 8w7 with a SX instinct?
Minkie Pie: Enneagram 4w5 with a SO instinct.
Blinkie Pie: Enneagram 4wX with a SX instinct.
Apple Bloom: “IT GOT ERASED AGAIN. APPLE BLOOM SO3.”
Derpy: “DERPY SX7/IDK FUCKING SP6 IDC.”
Babs: “BABS IDFK SP5?? SO5?? FUCKING SP8 dawg I’m too angry to care.”
I don’t agree with all of these anymore, but I stand by the fact Minkie and Pinkie are probably enneagram 4 and 7. I’m not entirely sure of Minkie’s instinct.
In this post, I am going to be breaking down EVERY piece of EVERY characters typology. Maybe I’ll even go into the victims typology in the story? Prolly not.
Minkie Pie 🥧
MBTI: ISFP
After some consideration, I decided Minkie Pie is probably an INFP. And it seemed the consensus on PDB was much the same, which made me immediately reconsider. Just kidding. So, my reasoning is that she is an obvious Fi dom. There’s little question there. Genuinely not understanding how someone thought she was a Fe aux. But the question remains about Ne vs Se.
Minkie has a lot of creative, but practical ideas. And I wouldn’t say she has more ideas than she can execute, nor is she stuck ‘in her imagination.’ So, I can definitely see a Se argument. However, she dwells on the past a lot, which is why FiSi makes more sense than FiNi. In her LARS, I mean, Mad Madusings, she constantly compares her past to the present. She does this to prove some sort of overarching idea, which could be FiNi, but hmmm… her ability to “just know lies” is also very FiNi. I’m torn. Actually, I think I’m going to go with IXFP. She’s clearly a Xe aux. Kidding. INFP makes sense. But ISFP also makes sense especially when in her mad musings she always makes conclusions about people based on past experience to form some sort of archetype of person. Which is Ni…
Ni can look like Si, but Si is more routine based than Ni. I’m gonna go with ISFP for now.
Enneagram: 4w5 (so/sx/sp blind)
Enneagram so4w5 seems right, but I’m also open to sx4. Though, Minkie doesn’t particularly seem envious of others as like, an overarching trait. She just seems pissed at the world. I suppose that could be sx4. I’m a little torn.
Also holy shit, my Ne brain just realised The Game. Minkie’s life is like a video game, trying haurd to beat the stage.
Anyway, I don’t know tbh. Sx4 makes senseeee, but Sx4 is shameless. Minkie is not. Unhealthy so4, ig.
Tritype: 459.
Minkie is obviously a so4, but what about her tritype? Well, because I think she’s a 4w5, her head type is 5w6. Her gut type then, is probably 9w8. I don’t have much good reasoning.
Socionics: ESI
AHH. I hate socionics. I really do. Because I don’t understand it, so it’s bad. Jk. Uh, so, I don’t know. I’m going to go with uh ESI but I can also seen an argument for anything because idk lol.
Big Five: RLOEN.
I don’t like big5 much lol.
Psychosophy: No.
Okay, psychosophy is something I don’t understand.
Temperament: Melancholic.
Come on, it’s really obvious?
Classic Jungian: IF(S)
Pretty obvious.
Conclusion: ISFP IF(S) ESI RLOEN so4 w 5 459 melancholic [dominant].
Blinkie Pie 🥧
Blinkie SX4 is something I stand by. It makes the most sense for her character. She’s probably a sx4w3, as she’s focused on accomplishment and ‘authenticity.’ Her tritype is harder to crack down. She doesn’t seem like a very intellectually driven type, but she does value community ‘at least if we were all locked away, we’d have each other.’ Which is an argument for 6, however… I don’t know. Probably 468. Her MBTI… ah god. Okay, so, unlike that one Deviantart post, I am going to go out on a whim and say she’s probably not an ESTJ. Cognitively extroverted 4 is pretty weird. I’m completely unsure of her MBTI. She has values, but they’re influenced from her friends and father. But Fe anywhere in her stack is weird. ISTJ could work? In Inkie’s Stellar Obsession, she spends the whole time telling Inkie how ridiculous her idea is. Granted, it’s also because she doesn’t like Stella (Fi) but still. ISTJ 4 is uh… weird. So maybe ISFP? I know I’m switching stacks but ugh. I don’t know. Te-Fi is obvious. Si-Ne and Se-Ni I’m more confused about. Maybe Se? She’s very practical. ISFP is the best guess I can give. Then, that would be ESI again, right? She’s probably SCOEN. And yes, S makes sense because introvert =/= unsociable. And she’s not limbic, just because she’s mentally ill. She’s probably a choleric-melancholic?
Conclusion: ISFP IF(S) ESI RCOEN sx4 w 3 468 cholmel.
Inkie Pie 🥧
Enneagram: sx8w7
Inkie, a character I wasn’t sure about. I’m still not convinced she’s an 8. She could be a 9. But she doesn’t seem to struggle with self-inertia.
“Ah, Marblestone "Inkie" Pie... what a Sugarcube. Inkie is the second oldest of the four pie sisters, though she grew up as the oldest since Minkie had not been found yet. she is often very honest, but if you are not on her good side, her honesty is blunt and very insulting. she speaks in a firm, low voice, and is very confident. she seems very proud, holding her head up high and walking with a strut. she has heavy lidded eyes, and her smile can be quite intimidating and frightening, even when she tries to act casual. inkie is a natural born leader, and has been known to be the "protective" pony of the group, and makes a majority of decisions. sometimes she gets pissy when her decisions are shot down, but this never lasts long when it comes to her friends and sisters. Inkie has the ability to love as strong as her ability to hate. she often uses pet names toward her friends and sisters, such as "hunny," "sweety," "sweeatheart," "love," "dear," and many others. she'll address her sisters as "dear sister" when being reassuring toward them. since inkie and Blinkie are the sisters that have spent the most time together, they seem very in tune to each other, thinking along the same lines and coming to similar conclusions. I was originally going to give inkie pie hallucinations, but I decided against it. she's too in control of herself. [that’s not how hallucinations work but ok hunny]”
So, what we can learn from this is that Inkie is honest, blunt and confident. She’s proud, protective and a natural born leader. She makes the decisions for the group and doesn’t like her ideas being shut down, but she doesn’t care if it’s her sisters. Inkie has the ability to love just as much as she hates, which completely goes against the idea that she views other ponies aside from her sisters as toys and not something to love/hate but I digress.
In the actual story, Inkie displays these behaviours several times. This leads me to believe she could be an 8 or 9, but which?
Well, Inkie doesn’t value peace, come to think of it, so she’s likely an 8w9. I still say 8w9 > 8w7 because she’s much calmer than other wings. I view wings more as flavouring than having to match up 100%. So, I’m leaning 8w9. Actually, I think 8w7 makes more sense… she doesn’t have much 9 qualities.
So, what instinct? I still stand by sx/sp 8. So sx8 then.
Tritype: 874
We know her core type (gut) is 8, and I’d imagine she struggles the least with shame. So, we need to figure out her head type. She could be a 5, as she doesn’t seem to struggle with any of the anxiety 6’s do, but 7 is also likely. She’s an unconventional 7 if so, but still. She’s probably 874. But I can see 854. I should probably make my mind up though. Hmm… 874.
Besides, it doesn’t make much sense to have your wing not be your fix. It’s not impossible but me.
MBTI: ESFP
Okay, so, I’m going with Se-Ti here. You might be wondering why, but it’s actually very simple. When going into typing characters, I always assume they’re a sensor until proven otherwise. However, I don’t let myself get biased. I was sure Inkie would turn out to be an intuitive. However, re-reading, Inkie is actually very grounded in reality. She isn’t creative, more of a ‘technical thinker’ as she says and focuses on the present moment. She also makes decisions primarily based on what she wants, her own ‘values.’ Values don’t always have to be moral, and she’s a clear example of that. She values her sisters, but not other people, hence why she protects them but dismisses the other. I just can’t see Fe-Ti or Ne-Si.
Big five: SCUEN.
Might seem weird, but Inkie actually does tend towards the calm side of things. She goes into things with little plan when her sisters aren’t around, and egocentric is a no brainer. N is self explanatory; I is usually more of an experience seeker.
Temperament: Choleric-sanguine is the closest fit to her. You may argue phlegmatic but she does not try to serve others in the slightest lmao. She’s selfish.
Conclusion: ESFP sx8w7 874 SCUEN choleric.
Oh, fun fact, “yup! i like to think that there's something running in the family. pinkie is bipolar, inkie is scitzophrenic (sp?), and blinkie has bordeline personality disorder XD” Where do we get any idea of that in the story, through their behaviour? Nowhere.
Also, despite Inkie knowing her actions are wrong, and the others, Rei said this regarding Derpy: “she doesn't think it's wrong. none of them do. you gotta put yourself in the shoes of a sociopath; they each may have different reasons why they think the way they do, but when your brain works in this fashion, your view of the world is warped.”
Pinkie Pie:
Enneagram: sp7w8
Alright! Let’s go back to this! Reminder that I am ONLY talking about Muffins Pinkie Pie here, and not MLP Pinkie Pie, who is very different from Muffins Pinkie Pie. So, I don’t think my typing was wrong at all. But I’ve been considering 8 for Pinkie. However, I’m not sure if she’s 7w8 or 8w7. I think Pinkie starts off as a 7w8 but Reitanna randomly decides to make her a megalomaniac. So, it’s complicated.
8’s don’t like vulnerability, but Pinkie doesn’t care. In fact, she’ll use her vulnerability to manipulate Apple Bloom in Silence Is Silver. So, that rules 8 out.
That being said… well, we’ll cross tritype when we get there.
So, I stand by her being a sp7w8. You might think Pinkie is too pessimistic to be an 8, but she isn’t a pessimist. An edgelord, but not a pessimist. She only confronts her dark attitude in life when literally being sentenced to death.
Tritype: 782
I think Pinkie is a textbook 782, and I’ll explain why. I was inclined to say 728 but I think she struggles with shame the least. She is very aggressive in getting what she wants, but she also has a 2 fix because she views her baking as a give and take.
"You do not control lives, Pinkie Pie," Celestia growled lowly, feeling hatred toward the party pony. "And you have caused more sadness than you can even imagine..."
"Have I?" sneered Pinkie. "With all of the cupcakes and pastries I brought to parties? With all of the money I helped bring in when I started working at Sugarcube Corner so that the Cakes found financial stability? To the point where they were able to care for themselves and two brand new foals when they came along?" She suddenly stamped her hoof on the floor, making everypony jump once again. "I know for a fact that every single pony in this room consumed quite a large amount of my special pastries, including you, Princess Celestia, Princess Luna. And I can recall each and every one of your reactions after taking the first bite! You want to know what it was?" Her furious eyes scanned the room as she was met with no response. Then she chuckled lightly. "A smile."
She’s clearly just messing with Celestia, but there is some truth to what she is saying. She clearly views what she’s doing as “good” to a degree because other people like her gifts. 2’s struggle with pride, and because Pinkie thinks she’s helpful, she feels she is entitled to do what she wants. This is a light fix, but still there.
Pinkie Pie also has a need for her cupcakes to be THE BEST, leading me towards a 2w3 > 3w2 fix. Being the BEST isn’t her main goal, but it’s up there.
Oh, fun fact about Fluttershy by the way, Reitanna was considering making her a baker. As a FuckedUp!PinkieShy shipper (like in an AU where they’re both fucked up idk) I would’ve loved that.
“Yeah, your story makes more sense than mine, but I like the "what ifs" you can come with by reading stories like these. Could you imagine Fluttershy turning into a psycho with Pinkie, or getting super mad and taking revenge?” “I actually considered that, but just like you said, it seemed a bit OOC”
MBTI: ENFP.
Pinkie Pie is probably an ENFP. At first, I considered Se dom, however she is VERY opportunistic and has constant ideas. Who even gets an idea to bake someone because of a cheese grater? Poor writing, or a Ne character? Either way, I think Ne-Si makes more sense than Ni-Se. Pinkie actually does use Si to a degree. She gets enraged when Celestia takes her friends away (even if she did it herself. Hypocrisy!) and also has a very strict schedule on how she does things. Fi > Fe might seem very strange however Fi users can manipulate. Pinkie doesn’t care at all about societal standards. She only keeps up with them to avoid being caught for her crimes. Also, while she hides her depression, it’s mostly to protect herself rather than her sisters. In Twilight’s Fall, she has no problem being pessimistic to her friends and saying horrible stuff.
OCEAN: SLOEI.
Pretty self explanatory. I don’t think I need to explain this.
Temperament: Sanguine-choleric.
Conclusion: Sanguine-choleric sp7w8 782 ENFP SLOEI
Apple Bloom:
Oh Apple Bloom- she’s had it rough. Definitely a type. So, for her enneagram… I decided to look at Broken Tiara, as it’s the story I think characterises Apple Bloom the most, and Silence Is Silver. We learn from the former that Apple Bloom struggles with rage and wrath. She wants to cause other people pain because she’s suffered. Apple Bloom self-sabotages in the story, killing her very own big sister but using Pinkie Pie to fill the gap. She destroys her family, because they don’t matter anymore, Pinkie Pie does. She believes killing is her destiny.
Enneagram: sp6w7- explanation below
Reitanna says this about Apple Bloom, “Actually, no, it's nothing physical, it's a trauma model. Apple Bloom had already shown sociopathic traits by joining pinkie in the first place, but what people don't realize is, the actual act does a lot more to the mind than watching someone lose their life. First, with each incident she witnessed, stress and trauma were put on her brain little by little, meaning it was literally breaking her sanity. Once she did it herself, the power of this act traumatized her so severely, it finally broke her sanity. Since she is a child, the effects of this are much more detrimental than to an adult, due to the fact that the brain is still developing. The damage has caused her to develop one or two personality disorders, which is common in trauma models in children. Since she has been treated so kindly by pinkie pie, Apple Bloom's brain associates these acts as good things because she has been shown positive reinforcement by her mentor, therefore, she doesn't comprehend the fact that something bad has happened to her. She is under the assumption that THIS is who she really is because of pinkie's manipulation. This loss of reality makes her, by definition, insane.”
“I can't pinpoint exactly what she has because I would need to look at all of the personality disorders, but she's definitely not sane.”
Personally, I won’t theorise on what personality disorders Apple Bloom could have, as she is still a child, and children usually get diagnosed with conduct disorder rather than ASPD, so I don’t want to speculate too much.
Apple Bloom compartmentalises her empathy and true nature for her trauma and manipulated self. ("Nah," she chuckled, “That wasn't the real me. It never was. This is the real me, the other one was just tryin to keep me locked away.")
She has an obsession with destruction. She refers to wanting to destroy other ponies in Broken Tiara and says the exact same thing in Silence Is Silver when talking about Silver Spoon. She’s also power-driven, much like Pinkie Pie, and wrathful.
In ABGHCM (Apple Bloom Gets Her Cutie Mark) we see more of this behavior repeated. “I think this was all meant to happen. Everything happens for a reason, right? That's why I was the one who volunteered to take you when your number came up."
She justifies it all with it being her destiny. And getting her cutie mark (one of the worst utilising of this plot device ever) helps her solidify this. I sorta have a theory that Pinkie used dark magic or smth to give Apple Bloom that cutie mark to manipulate her further, but that would be silly. Perfect for Muffins, I can’t take a single thing in this story seriously.
I had to go back to the quiz to get more characterisation of Apple Bloom. If you want all the answers by the way, I’ll drop them right here:
Pinkie Answers:
"How are you today?" "Fine and dandy, right as candy!"
"When it comes to friendship, what do you think is most important?" "Support! My friends are my life! I'd be nothing without them!"
"If you found yourself in a very scary situation, how would you react?" "HA Me? Afraid? I fear nothing."
"What do you think of the world and the people in it?" "Oh, I LOVE everybody”
"If somepony attacks you, how do you respond?" "Oh, that was an attack? It felt like a bug bite.”
"What's your idea of a good time?" “EVERYBODY needs to be having a good time! Everybody that matters, of course!"
"How would you get revenge on those who hurt you?" "Life isn't about revenge, but every body else can do as they please!"
"How do you deal with sadness?" "I suppress the sadness by pretending it's not there."
"Do you think you might be crazy?" "No pony is entirely sane! I'm crazy in my own way!"
"When you do something bad, how do you feel?" "Oh, I NEVER do anything bad!" (Explicitly contradicted by her saying "we're bad people" in On Trial)
"What do you think of life?" "I love life! It's great!"
"How are your dreams?" "I have good dreams. If they turn bad, I just make them good again." (Contradicted in Sting.)
"How was your childhood?" "It was depressing until I was inspired to go my own way and find happiness."
"Someone just lied to you. How did you find out, and how do you respond?"
"I don't really care if they lied to me, l'm a pretty big liar myself."
"I see you have cupcakes. May I have one?" "Of course, take two if you'd like!"
"How do you perceive the mind?" "It's an amazing machine that can create wonderful things. Without it, we'd be boring."
"You know, I think you're an idiot." "Ha, yeah, sometimes I am."
"Last question... how is your sleep?" “I never want the day to end, so I stay up late until I pass out. My energy can keep me up for hours when it's time for bed, so I only get a few hours of sleep. It doesn't take a huge toll on me, though."
Minkie Answers:
"First of all, how are you doing today?" "Same as every day.”
"When it comes to friendship, what do you feel is most important?" "Love. The love shared among friends is the true key to happiness."
"If you found yourself in a very scary situation, how would you react?" "I hardly fear things. Whatever it is, I'll make it more afraid of me."
"What do you think of the world, other than yourself and those close to you?" "Scum. Trash.”
"If somepony attacks you, how do you respond?" “They know better than to attack me. So they wouldn't."
"What's your idea of a good time?" "If my friends are smiling and laughing, then I'm having the time of my life!"
"How would you get revenge on those who hurt you?" "I need to make sure they feel ALL of my pain."
"How do you deal with sadness?" "I'm honestly not very good at fighting it.”
"Do you think you may be crazy?" “I know I'm ill, but l'm not crazy. Crazy ponies aren't aware of their actions."
"When you do something bad, how do you feel?" "I only feel guilty if I did it to somepony I love, otherwise I feel nothing."
"What do you think of life?" "Life? What life?"
"How are your dreams?" "Mostly nightmares about traumatic events in my past. They wake me up frequently."
"How was your childhood?" "I was hurt and neglected for a long time. It has broken me, but I find things to make me feel better."
"Somepony just lied to you. How do you find out, and what do you do?" "They lied to my face. I can tell if somepony is lying immediately to me, and I make sure they stop.”
"I see you have cupcakes. Can I have one?" "Yes, but just one, okay?"
"How do you perceive the mind?" "Sometimes it's not so good to us. It can make us think things we don't want to think."
"You know what? I think you're an idiot.” “…”
"Last question, how is your sleep?" "Well, since I have trouble sleeping, I'll do whatever anypony else is doing if THEY are still up. Otherwise I lay in bed, hoping sleep will take me. This makes me sleepy during the day. When I DO sleep, my nightmares will wake me back up.”
Blinkie answers:
"First off, how are you doing today?" "What's it to YOU?"
"When it comes to friendship, what do you feel is most important?" "Honesty. I think it's important to stay honest with your friends."
"If you found yourself in a very scary situation, how would you react?" "If I’M not the cause of it, how scary can it be?"
"What do you think of the rest of the world, other than yourself and those around you?" "Ha! The world is full of ponies too DUMB to see the blatant truth in front of their eyes."
"If someone attacks you, how do you respond?” “Are you serious?”
"What's your idea of a good time?" “I need to be in control of the activity, or I'm not happy." (Well we can rule out A > E in OCEAN)
"How would you get revenge on those who hurt you?" "I will let them feel all the power of my rage.”
"How do you deal with sadness?" "With anger. Turn sadness to anger. It's the only way to cope." (Real, relatable)
"Do you think you might be crazy?" "Why would you ask that? Are you implying something?!"
"When you do something bad, how do you feel?" "I don't care. I MEANT to do it.”
"What do you think of life?" "Life is only as good as what I make it."
"How are your dreams?" "My dreams are however I want them to be. I can lucid dream." (Contradicted in Sting)
"How was your childhood?" "My family never supported anything I did, and I hated them for it. I was disciplined often."
"Someone just lied to you. How do you figure it out?" "Doesn't matter how I find out. I'll… make sure they regret it."
"I see you have a cupcake, may I have one?" "If you really wanted one, you'd go get it yourself.”
"How do you perceive the mind?" "It's the thing that creates ideas, good and bad. You don't have to do what it says."
"You know what? I think you're an idiot.” "[navy seals copypasta]”
"Last question, how is your sleep?" "I feel uncomfortable if everyone is asleep and I'm not. I might purposefully keep somepony awake if l'm not tired."
Inkie Answers:
"First off, how are you doing?" "If I get my way, I'm good any day."
"When it comes to friendship, what do you think is most important?" "Loyalty. I always protect those who are dear to me."
"If you found yourself in a scary situation, how'd you react?" "I don't scare easily. I'm decently calm."
"What do you think of the rest of the world, other than yourself and those close to you?" "Do you REALLY consider them individuals? Pfft."
"If someone decides to attacks you, how do you respond?” "Anyone dumb enough to try and attack me will regret it.”
"What's your idea of a good time?" "Everything needs to be to MY liking."
"How would you get revenge on those who hurt you?" "To them, it'll seem like it didn't affect me. But when they least expect it, I will go to extremes to make them pay."
"How do you deal with sadness?" "Well, I rarely feel sad at all, but when I do, it's not pretty."
"Do you think you might be crazy?" "Some people may consider my behaviour crazy, but if in my right mind, is it really so?"
"When you do something bad, how do you feel?” "If everything that happens happens, can we really do anything wrong?"
"What do you think of life?” "I don't hate life, I hate the concept of it. It's wasted on those who don't appreciate it.”
"How are your dreams?" "I prefer the bad dreams because they give me cool ideas. They're more frequent than the good dreams."
"How was your childhood?" "My family put a lot of pressure on me. The affects stay with me to this day."
"Somepony just lied to you. How did you find out, and how do you respond?" "If I have a gut feeling I'm being lied to, l'll try and force the truth out of them."
"I see you have a cupcake or two. May I have one? "I'll think about it... how about you try and impress me for it?"
"How do you perceive the mind?" "The mind is whatever you make it."
"You know, I think you're an idiot." "Hmph. Likewise."
"Last question, how is your sleep?" "I like to settle down and chill, enjoying the company of anypony else who is still up. I'll easily go to sleep when they do. I have a bad habit of waking too early, which makes me sort of groggy, but l'm fine."
Apple-Bloom Answers:
"How is your day?” "I'm cautious, but I know I'II be fine!"
"When it comes to friendship, what do you think is most important?" "Dedication! I think friends should remain loyal and true."
"If you find yourself in a scary situation, how would you react?" "Sometimes the fear DOES strike me, but responding with courage is a true sign of character." (Sx6? Sp6 with a sx second instinct and so blind?)
"What do you think of the world, other than yourself and those close to you?" "Pathetic, absolutely pathetic. In fact it's REALLY funny."
"If somepony attacks you, how do you respond?" "I may be small, but i'm tough. Don't underestimate how badly I can kick their butt."
"What's your idea of fun?" "If I can let loose completely, it's a party!”
"How would you get revenge on those who've hurt you?" "They hurt me, so I want them to hurt 10x more."
"How do you deal with sadness?" “I have to cry it out, but I don't want anypony to see me doing it."
"Do you think you might be crazy?" "Of course not! I am who I am! Everypony else is crazy!"
"When you do something bad, how do you feel?" "Sometimes I feel a twinge of guilt, but if I ignore it, it goes away."
"What do you think of your life?" "When I was young, everything seemed so dandy... When did it start feeling so terrible?" (I know she’s had a terrible childhood but girl- WHEN?)
"How are your dreams?" "Sometimes my dreams are pretty bad, and they stem from bad memories or feelings."
"How was your childhood?" "I was raised well by my family, but I chose my own path, one they didn't approve of."
"Somepony just lied to you, how do you find out?" "They lied to me? I'll lie right back, in that way it'll be my revenge."
"I see you have a cupcake, may I have one?” "Why not? I have them, so l'll share them!"
"How do you perceive the mind?" "It's fragile. If it breaks, it's unlikely to be fixed."
"You know, I think you're an idiot” "I'll remember that next time I consider doing something nice for you."
"Last question, how is your sleep?" "I spent all day having fun, so I feel exhausted toward the end of the night. I try to stay up with my friends, but end up falling asleep at some point or another. Sometimes my bad dreams wake me up in the middle of the night, but I can fall asleep soon after."
BabsSeed Answr:
"First off, how are you doing today?" "I can't complain, really!"
"When it comes to friendship, what do you feel is most important?" "Giving back. When a friend helps you when things are bad, it's important to pay it forward."
"If you found yourself in a very scary situation, how would you react?" "Fight or flight? Ha, my first instinct is to fight.” (Counter6)
"What do you think of the world aside from your friends?" “They are weak fools who can't think for themselves."
"If someone attacks, what do you do?" "No one gets away with attacking me."
"What's your idea of a good time?" "If my friends and I don't have to hold anything back, it's a PARTY, PARTY PARTY"
"How would you get revenge on those who hurt you?" "Hahaha... let's say... no one gets away with hurting me."
"How do you deal with sadness?" "…have to distract myself.”
"Do you think you might be crazy?" "I am perfectly sane! I know exactly what I'm doing.”
"When you do something bad, how do you feel?" "Well, no pony knows l'm the one that did it. It's only wrong if I get caught." (Reitanna stop making TOOL references every two seconds challenge: IMPOSSIBLE)
"What do you think of life?" "Life was really unfair to me. But it's just a game, right? Now I'm the one winning."
"How are your dreams?" "My dreams are usually pretty nice. Sometimes I get bad ones, though that don't bother me."
"How was your childhood?" "| experienced heavy losses so young in life, as well as suffered from violent bullying. I was depressed until a dear friend helped me get back up."
"Somepony just lied to you. How do you figure that?" "I'll find out on my own. I'm smart, so I know. I’ll play along with them until I get the chance.”
"I see you have a cupcake. Can I have one?" "Depends... what have you done for me lately?"
"How do you perceive the mind?" "The mind is sacred. It should be fed knowledge, it should be soothed with meditation." (5 fix?)
"You know, I think you're an idiot." "Oh yeah? Well [a yo-mama-fat type insult, literally]”
Last question... how is your sleepis?" "Well, I make full use of the evening until I start to feel tired. Then I listen to music as I fall asleep. I keep it on low volume, and on repeat, so I hear my favourite songs in my dreams."
Our Muffins Blorbo 🫧:
"First off, how are you feeling today?" “I am so, SO happy today.”
"When it comes to friendship, what do you think is most important?" "Happiness! If my friends are happy, I am too!" (Fe > Fi?)
"You find yourself in a scary place and situation, how do you react?" "Sometimes I give into fear and run, it depends on HOW scary it is."
"What do you think of the rest of the world, other than yourself and those close to you?” "Oh! Everyone is great, there are a few bad ones though."
"If somepony attacks you, how do you respond?” "Why would they do that?! I haven't done anything wrong! have a right to defend myself!” (Hypocrite)
"What's your idea of a good time?" "Surrounded by all my friends no matter what!”
"How would you get revenge on those who hurt you?" "I'm tired of getting harmed. My revenge is going on anyone get my hooves on."
"How do you deal with sadness?" "I have to cry. If you cry, you feel better afterwards."
"Do you think you might be crazy?" "I'm not crazy, my reality is different than yours!"
"When you do something bad, how do you feel?" "My GOOD actions make up for my bad ones."
"What do you think of life?" "I feel betrayed by life. No pony exists on purpose. But I find reasons to smile!"
"How are your dreams?" "Usually my dreams are so real, I mistake them for reality. They can be good or bad."
"How was your childhood?" "I thought everything was good, but then I got abandoned and had to find my own way."
"Somepony just lied to you. What do you do?” "I am told by a friend and feel hurt by a liar, and tell them to never talk to me again."
"I see you have a cupcake, can I have one?" "I'll give you more than one! You can have half, and l'll have half, that way it's even."
"How do you perceive the mind?" "Sometimes you see things differently from others because your brain is programmed differently." (And rei says she isn't autistic coded...)
“You know what? You’re an idiot.” “I am NOT an idiot.” (10/10 defence.)
"Last question, how is your sleep?” ur sl "I try to stay up with my friends, but end up falling asleep first. just get really tired if it's been a long day, and sometimes I'II also take naps. I DO feel refreshed while I'm awake, though."
RUN:
"First off, how are you doing today?" "Things are great!"
"When it comes to friendship, what do you think is most important?" "Connection. I just love my friends so much, I don't know what I'd do if I lost them."
"If you found yourself in a very scary situation, what is your reaction?" "I tend to flee."
"What do you think about the rest of the world other than yourself?" "Some are good, some are bad, that's just the way it is."
"If somepony attacks you, how do you respond?" "I would ask them why they attacked me!"
"What's your idea of a good time?" “I like to party with my friends, but I also like to make new ones."
"How do you get revenge on those who hurt you?" "Revenge never solves anything."
"How do you deal with sadness?" "I just try to think positively, even when crying."
"Do you think you are crazy?" "Well, what do you mean by crazy? 'Crazy' as in eccentric, 'crazy' as in insane? I need some more context!" (Reitanna hates rational people who ask questions.)
"When you do something bad, do you feel bad?" "I feel guilty, and that guilt doesn't go away until I confess."
"What do you think of life?" "Life is good. I wake up every morning and I just feel so good!"
"How are your dreams?" “They can be good, they can be bad. It just depends on what my brain is dealing with at the time."
"How was your childhood?" “There were good times and bad. My experiences made me who I am."
"Somepony just lied to you. How did you find out, and how do you respond?" "Why would somepony lie to me? No, there must be some mistake. People don't just... LIE... do they?!" (Yeah no one thinks this...)
"Can I have a cupcake?" "I'm not gonna finish them all on my own, silly!'"
"How do you perceive the mind?" "Your mind is like a sanctuary; it tells you what is right and what is wrong."
"You know what, I think you're a fucking idiot." "That's not very nice. How can you say something like that so easily?"
"Last question, how is your sleep?" "I like to iust settle down and read or something else calming) until I'm tired enough to sleep. I don't have any troubles falling asleep at all."
Anyway, let’s look at Apple Bloom’s answers. She’s optimistic (believing everything will be okay), loyal, “brave,” condescending, anger driven and spiteful. Things we already knew. Her enneagram being 1 is unlikely, unless she’s a very unhealthy one. 2 isn’t impossible, but she doesn’t seem very heart triad, you know? Probably not a 5. 6, 7, 8 and 9 are on the table. I think 6 is the most likely, and we can rule out 8 and 9. She’s probably a sp6w7.
“Preservation Sixes want to feel the embrace of the family, to be in a warm, protected place where there are no enemies. They search for an "idealized other" for protection, and they can have issues that look like separation anxiety. Like a child who needs to hold on to the mother, these Sixes don't feel confident in defending their own self-interests and survival.”
“These Sixes seek to escape anxiety by seeking the security of protection; therefore, they become dependent on others. They have a passion for compensating for the fear of separation, which manifests as warm and friendly temperament. Their driving need is therefore for something like (neurotic) friendship or warmth, which makes this subtype the warmest of these Sixes. They tend to be in a good mood and have a generally pleasant disposition. They look for a bond of intimacy and trust in their relationships, and they fear disappointing others, especially those who are closest to them. Being warm is their way of getting people to be friendly so they won't be attacked.”
However, due to her sx instinct being second, I think she still has some sx 6 traits. Also,
She doesn’t seem to hide her anger. In fact, she actively goes against Pinkie, but that’s when she’s REALLY pissed off towards Diamond Tiara, not her usual mode. In fact, she seems scared of Pinkie otherwise.
Could be sp7, but I doubt it.
Tritype: 638
Okay, figuring out her tritype was HELL, but I think I’ve got it down. So, her heart type was the hardest to find, but I think she’s a 3 fix. Why? Because she’s obsessed with getting her cutie mark, as a means of protection (6 core) from her bullies. As for her gut type, I think we can rule out 1, as she doesn’t really care about morality, and 9, because she isn’t conflict-avoiding.
MBTI: ISTP
So, probably a Fe-Ti user, but I can see her Ti being higher than Fe. As for her other functions, I think… Se-Ni? Maybe Ti-Se-Fe-Ni… but that doesn’t FEEL right. That’s ISTP, right? Um…
She uses Ni in ABGHCM when she predicts Applejack will need stronger restraints, and she has very Ni attitudes in life (“this was meant to happen.”
Ni-Fe? INFJ? Unlikely. Her Fe isn’t THAT strong. Tert Fe seems right. ESTP? But E6 is cognitively introverted. She uses a LOT of Ni.
Actually, I can see Fi-Ni for Apple Bloom, but maybe Inferior Fi? No… Tert Fi? What “values” does she have though? Literally none.
ISTP? She’s kinda manipulative, but inferior Fe users still have Fe in their stack. I mean she literally taunts Applejack by saying “One last bit of sisterly bonding, right?”
And she HAS gone against group values before… I don’t know. I can’t guess very well, but ISTP is the closest I can guess.
SLOAN: SLUEN
Temperament. Sanguine-choleric. [angry sanguine <:()
Conclusion: sp6w7 638 ISTP SLUEN Sanguine-choleric.
Derpy Hooves:
Enneagram: sp7w6
Derpy!! Our blorbo!! We only have Derpy and Babs left, so let’s start with our autistic little blorbo. So, Derpy was abandoned from a young age, and had no friends. Stumbling across Pinkie’s hobby sort of gave her a connection, or someone to rely on. Sp7 is my first thought, to be honest. Not a 1, 2, 3 and probably not a core 4. We can rule out 5, and 6 is unlikely. Same with 8 or 9. In fact, I’m pretty confident she is a 7. I don’t know her instinct though. Reitanna once said on Twitter Derpy struggles with Gluttony, so…
Probably sp/sx 7w6 (still wary) 741.
Okay, so, I probably have to justify that 1 fix. Derpy is very cautious of making a mistake, so the point where she cries because of it. She’s also under the impression that what she’s doing is morally justified to a degree, “what’s bad for you is good for us,” though that could just be selfishness. Her 1 fix is very light, but I feel like she hates the way she was treated and hates how cruel the world is, despite the fact she is a hypocrite.
MBTI: ESFJ
Fe is not impossible, but idk if it’s her dominant function, really so. I think she’s an XSFJ, probably ESFJ. And the reasoning is that she’s very empathetic, albeit selectively, and she values her friends happiness over her own. She doesn’t like change very much, like when Pinkie got taken away, and that’s how anyone would react, but she does seem to like feeling safe and structured. She had an adventurous side though (Tert Neh) and uses VERY flawed logic to justify her actions using her inf logic.
SLOAN: SLUAN.
She’s just a little borbcy.
Temperament: sanguine-phlegmatic.
Conclusion: ESFJ sp7w6 741 SLUAN sanguine-phlegmatic.
Babs Seed’s Typing:
Enneagram: sx6
Ah yes, the best Muffins character. Well, according to Reitanna and only Reitanna, no one else likes her. Anyway, let’s rule out the obvious. She’s probably not a 1, 2, 3 or 4. 4 fix is possible. 7 and 9 is also less likely. 5, 6 and 8 are the main contenders. We can rule out sp6 and so6. I don’t think she’s an 8, as she doesn’t seem to care about control, but protecting herself. So, now we’re torn between 5 and 6. I’m leaning 5? She could also be a 9. No, I think she’s a 5. She’s very obsessed with mindfulness, taming the mind and… she’s also too confident to be a 5. I know, fallacy. But I don’t really understand fives. You’re like aliens.
I don’t think she’s a 5. Probably a 6w7, actually. Sx/sp6.
Tritype: 684
Probably a 8 and 4 fix. Like, she definitely has 4 traits. She gets jealous of ducks. DUCKS. She insists on fighting her OWN battles, and boy does she fight. She has some so8 traits but uh, killing Fluttershy isn’t exactly “protecting the weak.” She thinks homiending is “strong.”
MBTI:
Ahhh… ugh. Okay, so, Fi inferior isn’t impossible, but Ti > Te makes sense. So, maybe Fe tert? ESTP? Se-Ni is obvious. ESTP is my best guess.
SLOAN: SCOEN.
Temperament: choleric-sanguine.
Conclusion: choleric-sanguine ESTP sx6w7 684 SCOEN.
And that’s it! That’s my analysis of the bakers! I don’t plan on making any changes, and I probably WILL change my mind many times. I could go into other characters, but the point is, the writing in Muffins isn’t the best, so that’s unlikely. Chances are, I’ll leave this post here and yeah.
Edit: When I made this post, my understanding of enneagram wasn’t perfect, and my understanding of socionics was worse. If you want to know my updated thoughts, I might make a post about it, but I’ve already made two posts about this at this point. Would you guys like a part three?

🎙 LISTEN HERE! Or find us on Apple Podcast, Spotify, and everywhere else you can stream podcasts!
Stream on podbean:
Yet another incredible treat for the ColdFlash fans! On this episode of Talkin’ Fanfic, Sara sits down with @phynali, better known in ColdFlash circles as (the one, the only!) RedHead (@coldtomyflash). RedHead has authored two of the top five kudos’d works under the ColdFlash tag on Ao3, and their work is commonly counted as some of the most seminal in the fandom. Sara and phyn dig into three of RedHead’s works: “Tumbling Together”, “An All Too Jagged Snowflake”, and “Got A Melancholic Temperament (that’s what they said to me)”.
Sara and phyn talk about the joys and collaborative nature of the ColdFlash community, (“Hi, Aunt Crimson!”), the challenge of balancing a PhD thesis with fanfiction obligations, how juggling multiple (and very different) stories can actually help overcome writer’s block, and also touch on phyn’s work under the pseud @dyed-red, where they publish Supernatural works of a very different (darker, stylistic, minimalistic) nature and atmosphere, and the challenge therein of dipping a toe into a new fandom.

A while ago, I got an ask if there were any songs I associated the characters of Fervency with. I didn't have too much of an answer, though; there were two songs from the movie Ravenous (at least 85% of Part I was probably written with its soundtrack in the background) that I associated main characters of different temperaments with, and one wholly unrelated song I associated Narciso with. Even so, I'll post these songs here.
When I said that I associated a distracted main character who wished to see no violence and do no harm, I mentioned a song named Boyd's Journey. The more correct answer would probably be Boyd's Beauty, though, a remix of said tune, because it's so genuinely serene. It was this version I listened to as I wrote the most distracted character of them all just leaving the mansion, going home without seeing any evil.
youtube
I associated a wild and crazy, ravenous or scorched, character with a song from the same movie. It's called Run. Silly banjos. Gleeful violence and unhinged attitudes, like a main character having fun, feeling the thrill of the chase. Unfortunately, I think it might only be funny in context... Dark humour. A wild cannibal chase where this tune was quite unexpected indeed. (It came right after some creepy and violent scenes, so the dissonance made me laugh.)
youtube
The last one was Lamento del Castrato, a tune by what seems to be an anonymous composer, which I associated with Narciso because it's a castrato's lament. The libretto doesn't really matter, it's more the name of it, and the melancholic but very sweet sound.

*Drives up to speaker* Hello, can I get a side order of 2 and 3 for Wenny and 8 and 19 for Odette? Thank you!☺
I gotchu, homie!
Tumblr media
Link to the questions is here for whoever wants to ask me about my BC OCs:
Eirwen:
2. Drawing from the language of flowers, what flower symbolizes them?
So Wenny's birthday is in July and one of the birth flowers of July is the water lily which means purity and innocence.
However, I also have another answer to that question and it is the amaryllis flower. Amaryllis are symbolic of a hard won success, particularly in artistic endeavors. Giving an artist a bunch of amaryllis flowers is said to encourage both their creative muse and their achievements and strength in the arts. Wenny is a sweet and innocent girl but she is also very creative and driven.
3. What real life animal would they be represented by?
So I was thinking of cute animals and then I remembered the fact that cheetahs are so damned anxious that they need service dogs in order to remain calm enough in captivity to breed. And that's what Eirwen is, she is actually a dangerous cat, but she does more harm to herself by being so stressed out.
Odette:
8. Which of the seven heavenly virtues are they associated with? Do they embody that virtue or are they trying to learn it?
So the virtue Odette best embodies is diligence. No one can ever call her lazy, if anything she's a borderline workaholic. Once her mind is set on something she goes out and does it. All those books she reads? Research. All to better understand and learn things that will help her with whatever goals she is trying to achieve.
19. Which of the four temperaments are they?
At first glance? Sanguine. Odette has a people-person persona and is very charming. But this took years of practice, she was very melancholic as a kid before she came out of her shell. So she is actually a blend of the two.
"When the Sanguine and the Melancholy natural tendencies are combined, it produces a people-person who is sensitive, creative, and detail-oriented.
The Sanguine-Melancholy needs to be with people most of the time, but some of the time they need to be alone. When alone they will likely think, review, plan, and be creative. They need information, time to think, and a plan; they function best, and more effectively, when they have a detailed plan.
They often have difficulty going to sleep because they are thinking too much; reviewing, planning, fretting, or creating."
Here's a link about temperament blends:

Ooh, these are such good questions! 5, 14 & th bonus question for Simon and Niko?
Thank you!! And thank you for asking me! I'm always happy to answer. 💕
5) What is their overall physical condition? Are they healthy or do they get sick easily?
Simon should not be the type to get sick easily. He's rather fit and he's very much trying to eat healthy. Still, he's catching every cold passing his way, only because he's forcing his body to it's limits ruthlessly. And he's not gonna learn from it. (Not as long as I got a say in the matter, though.)
Nikolai's much less careful to stay healthy. He's tending to dress unfitfull for the weather out of carelessness and since he's in contact with a lot of different people, it's only natural that he will get sick easily. Much to Simon's dismay, since he's catching almost all his colds from Niko.
14) Are they emotional or rather rational? And does that change when they're sick?
Simon is very rational. Maybe because he killed any last bit of emotion or maybe because he's always been rather logical. He tends to think that anything aside ratio is stupidity and a very much useless way to spend one's time. Even though he proofs himself wrong by enjoying art, music and literature not for it's ratio, but it's beauty. There's not much shift in that when he's unwell. Other than some loathing and selfpity he almost hates himself for, he's not prone to being more emotional than usual with a cold.
Nikolai tends to be much more emphathetic than Simon. He's able to read his opponents feelings and respond to them in a way that make them feel at ease. Which is not to say, that he himself is very emotional. However, when he's sick, he tends to be more selfcentered, sad and might feel lonely easily. Weirdly enough, Simon's lack of empathy is comforting him, in a way, that he doesn't have to feel bad for being evoking negative feelings in the other by being overly dramatic - other than annoyance though.
Bonus: In case you are by chance familiar with the four temperament theory (melancholic (rational type), phlegmatic (supportive type), sanguine (energetic type) and choleric (dominant type) with the first two being introvert and the last extrovert) where do they tend to be on the chart?
I'm very happy to answer that one of course! Maybe I'll give a brief impression of my understanding of the types (though my knowledge is rather shallow. Feel free to correct me!) The melancholic is obsessed with details. They want to know everything to the last bit of information before they make decisions. They really like to think things through and they tend to pose questions. The phlegmatic is very kind. They tend to put others first and they seek to make people around them happy, always striving for harmony. The sanguine is always seeking for experiences. They like to live their life to the fullest, not caring that much about lasting things but rather shortlived desires. And the choleric is rather strongminded. They know exactly what they want and how to get it. They don't care for long explanations or details, but rather easy and short instructions. That said, I'd say that Simon has strong tendencies to melancholic. He likes to draw connection between things and he does not respond well to hierarchy, which is part of the him opposing choleric type. That said, he wishes to be more dominant, as much as he dislikes people who actually are. He's much more close to the sanguine in terms of being introvert, though he's far enough from it to struggle with extrovert people from time to time. And Nikolai's on the other side of the graph with more tendencies to sanguine. He's a bit more on the outer level, farer from choleric and closer to melancholic, which is how and why Simon and him go along at all. I used to think that Niko could be phlegmatic as well, but since they somewhat oppose to one another and cancel themselfs out, I'd rather say that it's his tendency to consume people in a way, that makes it feel as if he cared, while he actually does not really think about whether they profit from him being there or not.
It's so annoying that tumblr would cut this off...

Had my first resident death yesterday and I’m processing.
I’ve been working as a nurse assistant for something like seven years and managed through luck and timing to wriggle my way out of being there when a resident died. How the blazes I’ve managed that is up for debate, but making oneself useful in the background usually helps.
Anyway, got to work yesterday, heard a resident was actively dying and proceeded to do my scheduled cares for said resident around all of my other duties. I’m very reliable in this kind of situation but not gushy or touchy feely. The dying person will get the best care I can give at the time…but I will basically kinda not interact with the family unless they interact first. I’m an introvert with AuDHD, it’s how I roll.
Nice and gentle with the resident, polite nods to the family…and that’s about it. Thank goodness this family was basically self-sufficient and didn’t seem to require assurances or anything. I seem to manage to have body language that shows I care for the resident, but somehow manages to cut off pulling me into conversations.
This is not to say that I don’t like getting pulled into conversations with residents or their families. It’s just only under certain circumstances that I like it. Nobody likes getting pulled into smalltalk when they have four billion tasks looming on the horizon.
Anyway, provided cares for the resident. Got to watch family members say goodbye, including saying you can go at any time. Managed to fit a repositioning between cares on a different resident at about 8pm after scheduled pain meds started working and then went back to my other residents.
Around nineish, I did get the random thought to go check in on the resident, but I brushed it off with the thought of it’ll be fine and I’ll be there in less than an hour and kept going.
Ten-o-clock rolls around and my coworker and I go up to the resident’s room for a final repositioning. I flick the lights on and my coworker and I know that something is definitely different. Perhaps it was the open eyes and mouth. We watched the resident’s chest for a couple beats just to make sure and my coworker did check for a pulse.
As my phone had died, I borrowed my coworker’s facility phone to call the nurse saying that we are pretty sure the resident has passed and you need to get up here. Proceed to imagine my coworker and I standing around, not knowing what to do because I’ve literally never seen a dead body before and she had never had this happen in a professional sense.
Nurse came and confirmed it. Closed the resident’s eyes and had us head back downstairs so she could call the family. I locked the door on the way out and that was the last I saw of the resident.
My coworker and I kinda chattered on a bit, carefully sidestepping the situation and I got to mark the last two cares as not done due to the resident being deceased.
I really hope all the family members that came pouring in could see my concern for them over my surgical mask, because I certainly had no idea how to verbally voice it. Quite literally the only thing I said to any of the family was asking the first party that arrived it they had a key to get into the room because I has locked the door. I’m practical that way.
While my coworker and I were carefully discussing other things, I had the morbidly humorous thought that at least tomorrow’s shift will be easier. I’ve never been so happier to have a semi-functioning brain-to-mouth filter because I’m pretty sure that would have been in poor taste.
People keep advising me to feel my feelings and don’t try and control them and I am making an attempt. I’m not exactly the kind of person to burst into tears at the drop of a hat, but I’m not sure if that is a temperament thing or just because I’ve previously shoved everything in a box and shoved that box deep in the far reaches of my brain. I guess I might be a bit melancholic about it all and that is an okay response to death.

ARTIST RESEARCH
JOAN MIRÓ
Punyet Miró, Joan, et al. Miro: In His Studio. Thames and Hudson, 1996.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was suggested that I look into Joan Miró and so I went to the library and got the book ‘Miro: In His Studio’ out. It’s mostly a book of photographs from in his studio but there are a few pages of written content about Miro’s life and practice.
Below are a few quotes and paragraphs from the book that I thought were interesting and relevant:
“Not many photographers were given the opportunity of photographing Miró in his studio, because the artist could not endure the presence of strangers in his working quarters” (Punyet Miró, et al. 8).
“'I paint what I am, ’ declared Miró one day, with reference to his own taciturn, over-sensitive and melancholic temperament. His paintings reproduce perceptions and objects which, having been submitted to a process of transformation and metamorphosis, have assumed the new identity attached to them by the artist. This process occurs automatically and/or subconsciously” (Punyet Miró, et al. 8).
“'My painting bears no resemblance to a private journal. It is an irresistible compulsion that manifests itself externally,’ he said in 1978. This necessity to reveal the irresistible compulsion externally undoubtedly helped him to battle on and, finally, to continue to live” (Punyet Miró, et al. 8).
“An evening walk together in his garden was the best way of entertaining his world; he used to teach me how to listen to the silence, how to look at things in the dark, how to communicate without words. His blue eyes, in which could be read the avidity and lightness of his soul, transmitted this intangible poetry”. (Punyet Miró, et al. 9).
“Throughout his life he was obsessed with freedom of expression, made manifest in a plastic and iconographic idiom that could be understood by all, but which he alone was capable of producing. 'I never dream when I am asleep, I only dream when I am not asleep,’ said Miró…” (Punyet Miró, et al. 9).
“When he was tired he would go up to his study to listen to classical music or read poetry” (Punyet Miró, et al. 9).
“The world created by Miró had enormous imaginative strength. It was fundamentally linked to elements that were very humdrum or alternatively very poetic. This was possible thanks to the complicity inherent in his work between free poetic association and his own acute visual sensitivity” (Punyet Miró, et al. 10).
“For the artist the space had religious significance. It was a place for meditation, solitude and creation. The only sounds were his breathing and the creaking of his rocking chair when he sat down to think” (Punyet Miró, et al. 10).
“Miró concentrated very intensely when he was working, lying in wait for the slightest incident, the spark that would lead him towards new perspectives, towards the creation of the tangle of signs that would translate arbitrarily into poetic language, or into musical-chromatic composition. In the 1970s, Miró finally admitted that he was working 'in a second state, with unfettered violence, so that people should see he was still alive and that he was still moving towards new horizons’” (Punyet Miró, et al. 11).
“The Sert studio offered Miró the working environment that he needed. When he closed the door he knew that he was shutting himself away from all contact with the outside world and entering the private world of his imagination. This private world, Miró’s reality, was filled with Mediterranean light, forms and colours” (Punyet Miró, et al. 12).
“In 1978 he explained that 'my present absorption in all these bits and pieces, in all these treasures, is quite new. I’ve been hypnotized. When I go for a walk I don’t hunt for objects as if I were looking for mushrooms. There’s a sudden force, bang! like a magnetic force that makes me look down at a certain moment’” (Punyet Miró, et al. 12).
“As Breton observed: 'Experiment is not a matter of passive observation; it is the invention of a new kind of experience made possible by allowing reason to confirm what tactile experience might seem to deny.’ Every object possessed by magic or almost sacred properties, to which Miró gave a semi-religious significance. The signifier remained the same but the signified altered to place the object in a new context, a context marked by metaphor and by the distillation of intuition” (Punyet Miró, et al. 13).
“As my brother David commented, however: ’For Miró the most important factors were his own reaction to his work, his self-discipline and he adherence to the highest standards 0 the last two testifying to his faultless honesty. He also maintained a constant development in his work and a provocative spirit that never left him’” (Punyet Miró, et al. 13).
“When I analysed the colours used by Miró in his late work I realized that black was predominant and had become in fact the background colour to all his painting” (Punyet Miró, et al. 14).
“Miró always sailed on unchartered waters and dared to criss-cross them in search of the unknown. His interior aggression and perseverance stimulated him to continue the search and provided material for the continuous development he needed” (Punyet Miró, et al. 14).
“Miró devoted his whole life to the reassertion of artistic and spiritual liberty; even though he wanted to escape the cult of the artist he could not deny the strength and pragmatic nature of his own work” (Punyet Miró, et al. 15).

Joan Miró was a Spanish painter, sculptor and ceramicist. “Earning international acclaim, his work has been interpreted as Surrealism but with a personal style, sometimes also veering into Fauvism and Expressionism. He was notable for his interest in the unconscious or the subconscious mind, reflected in his re-creation of the childlike” - Tate.

I love how 'brutal’ these works are. They just are as they are. To me they have this 'I don’t care what you think’ attitude to them. They’re honest and stark and chaotic and plain at the same time. I also like the different tones of black, like different amount of water have been used to water down the paint or ink, it gives the works a depth to them. It’s also nice with the kind of 'scratchy’ background, gives everything else this 'layer’ to sit on.

Note
do you have any recs for longer coldflash fics?
hi anon!!
you know, i wish i had more. when it comes to this fandom i read so many one-shots but it feels like it's been FOREVER since i read a really good, really long fic. they're defo out there! i am just too lazy to go looking and have a crazy reading list as it is lmao, so i don't know how much help i can be but i'll do my best.
firstly, you can't beat the classics. most likely you've already read these because they're most people's gateway drug to coldflash (they certainly were mine!) but they're classics for a reason:
- an all too jagged snowflake by redhead (276k). otherwise known as baby's first coldflash fic, the one that turned me into the coldflash-obsessed gremlin i am today. i'm always a sucker for a soulmate au and this one is deliciously angsty.
- tumbling together by redhead. (178k.) another gem. barry and len end up unexpected neighbours. this one is so funny i genuinely sometimes just start thinking about The Dick and cackling like a maniac. totally normal behaviour. (if you've read it you'll know what i mean.)
- got a melancholic temperament (that's what he said to me) by redhead. (77k). ooh, this one hurts. len and lisa get deaged, meaning barry suddenly has a sulky, nineteen-year-old leonard snart living in his house. len is PAINFUL in this fic. i wanna hug him but tbh he'd probably shiv me.
and of course you can't go wrong with crimson's fics, but here are a few standouts:
- public enemy, undercover lover by crimson1 (95k. a true behemoth of the smutty variety.) this one's less a longfic in itself and more a series of connected smutty one shots, but it's honestly peak content if you're into that sort of thing.)
after vertigo by crimson1 (70k.) a really fun role reversal au where barry is a super-speedy thief and len is a shy virgin scientist. i'm not usually one for AUs when it comes to this ship, but this one just kind of re-envisions canon a bit and it's really fun, very different from the usual coldflash dynamic.
aaaand devastatingly i genuinely cannot think of any more off the top of my head, which is really a bit shameful. i mostly seem to see one-shots floating across my dash (i have recs for those for days haha.)
BUT here's a list of ones that i've marked for later on ao3 that i WANT to read:
- probletunity by haute_coldture (53k.) who doesn't love a heist fic? and i've wanted to see this kind of coldflash team-up ever since that one ep where barry and ralph infiltrated the party with the weapons auction.
- i think i love you by youmakemesoangry. (53k, still ongoing.) unrequited love babeyyy!! all i really know is that len is in love with barry, barry has no idea and it's angsty af. this one comes highly recommended and will probably destroy me which is why i've been too much of a baby to read it considering there's no guarantee of a HEA. but it sounds so good and one day i'll be brave and dive in.
- drunk minds speak sober hearts by m4x_87. (41k.) barry gets whammied by biovolo and it makes him fall head over heels for len. this is a trope i am deeply fond of so i'm excited to read this.
- wonderland by notenuffcaffeine/technologykilledreality. (66k.) a rogue air spinoff that ends with barry and len BOTH going down for lewis' murder, stuck in iron heights. listen. iron heights fics are my jam. i love them SO much. i cannot wait for this.
and not to shamelessly self plug, but if you're in the mood for something really, outlandishly, self-indulgently, insensibly long, my fic aftermath is over 500k, which makes it the second-longest coldflash fic on ao3! (am i mad that someone beat me to the top spot by about 200k? yes, but only moderately lmaooo.) it's a rewrite of season 1 but barry and len are dating from the onset. now can i RECOMMEND this one? well, that'd be egotistical and honestly it's been so long since i read it that i cannot speak for the quality, but other people seemed to like it and it definitely fits the 'long' brief haha

SERENDIPITY
Tumblr media
(part - 4)
"Do you think Kageyama will come for practice?" Kindaichi asked, looking at his boyfriend, before he pulled a shirt over his head.
Kunimi shrugged.
"Exchange students have to attend the same clubs they participated in at their schools, so he has to come, right?" Kindaichi persisted.
"I don't know" Kunimi hissed, annoyed. He really didn't want to discuss this. Kageyama was....a touchy topic and he really wished that anyone from Karasuno had been the exchange student, but Kageyama. Heck, even the Shrimp would have been better than this.
The door to the boys locker room opened. The Seijoh Coach strode in, the exchange students behind him.
"Ok boys, this will be your locker room, and you will use the free ones. Feel free to ask me or any other students, in case you have any confusions"
Saying this, he exited the room, leaving the boys to get changed.
Kunimi and Kindaichi watched the crowd curiously, just like the other Seijoh players in the room.
Tsukishima was the first person to separate himself from the crowd and move around, searching for his locker.
Which happened to be right next to the one that Kunimi used. Both gritted their teeth, very much annoyed.
"Kageyama senpai! Our lockers are here!"
Kindaichi turned to his left to see a boy, first year by the looks of it, opening the locker just one place away from his.
"Where's mine...?" the low husky voice, had Kindaichi gasping sharply.
Two places away, Tsukishima smirked.
"Here senpai!" the boy said again, his pale blonde curls flopping over his grey green eyes. He really had too long hair for a boy, it reached almost till the nape of his neck.
As Kindaichi watched, Kageyama emerged from around the corner, his expression somewhat annoyed. He looked to where his junior was pointing.
Even as Kunimi turned around to face the Karasuno ravenette, the boy seemed to have grasped the fact that his locker was right next to his former team mate's.
Heaving a sigh, and looking more irritated, Kageyama spoke.
"Hey Kagari, swap with me"
The boy paused, looking at his senpai. Kageyama's face bore a look of irritation, but when you looked closely, thought Tsukishima, you could clearly see the tinge of despair and fear.
"Well?" Kageyama asked, raising one of his eyebrows in question.
The boy nodded.
"Hai!"
"Thanks Kagari, I appreciate it" he said as he opened his duffel bag, refusing to look into the eyes of his crushes.
Which was good, since Kunimi and Kindaichi's faces were a mixture of emotions.
The real show began when Kageyama took off his shirt. At least for Tsukishima. He saw how Kindaichi's eyes seemed to almost thirstily take in Kageyama's abs and muscular arms. Kunimi had shut his eyes in an attempt, not to do the inevitable and it seemed to be working, albeit with a little too much effort. It was getting difficult for the SaltBottle to refrain from laughing aloud at the antics of the Seijoh players.
"Hey King! Let's go. We're gonna be late"
Kunimi's eyes snapped open in surprise. Kindaichi whipped around to face Tsukishima. They didn't get how he was calling Kageyama 'King' just like that.
Kageyama shrugged. That was what Tsukishima always called him, no matter what. He didn't mind. It'd be weird if he called him by his last name or first name.
Plus, that name reminded him of his faults, reminded him of how he had been, and what he had lost because of his stupidity. It reminded him of his royal cruelty. And right now, it reminded him, that he had no right to fall in love with the two boys standing but one place away from him. Or another pair of setter spiker boys.
Nope. He'd extinguished that hope with his 'King' like attitude and his 'natural talents'.
Sighing heavily at his depressing thoughts, he banged the locker door shut and waited for the first year setter beside him.
Kunimi grabbed Kindaichi by his arm, indicating clearly that he had had enough of this.
"Let's go", he said in his usual quiet voice.
Kindaichi let himself be dragged, not glancing again at the King. But just as Kunimi was about to open the door, someone else opened it from the other side.
A boy with midnight blue hair and black eyes stepped into the room. He was a little shorter than Kindaichi, and as he entered, he almost knocked over Kunimi, who was standing just by the door. Kindaichi supported him, preventing him from falling.
"Warui warui!" the boy spoke up immediately, apologetic. "I really should have been careful. Are you okay?" he looked at Kunimi, concerned.
Kunimi nodded, he'd just been surprised.
Kindaichi fussed over him.
Kageyama, watching all this drama, felt melancholic, knowing well that he would never be the receiver of those caring caresses.
The boy ran his eyes over the room, before he spotted Kageyama. A grin lit his face as he called out his friend's name.
Kageyama looked up.
"Anzai!" he was surprised.
It would entertaining to see the King's former soldiers getting jealous, thought Tsukishima, lips curving into an evil smirk.
"Go ahead with him," he indicated at the bluenette, "we'll follow along"
Kageyama nodded. He was glad of any excuse to escape from the room. He grabbed his friend's hand and pulled him out of the room, hurriedly.
He didn't notice how angry Kindaichi looked or how Kunimi was biting his lip in his attempt to keep his sanity.
Tsukishima was cackling on the inside.
The poor soldiers! They sure don't seem very happy that the King's social skills have improved!
"So? Aren't you supposed to be with swim club?" Kageyama asked his friend.
Whenever he thought of the word, he felt warm tingles go through him. After the incident at Kitagawa, he'd really thought that he was incapable of being friends with anyone.
Yamato was a friend, but then he was Kageyama's childhood friend who knew him inside out. He also had an open mind and inextinguishable optimism, putting up with Kageyama, even when he was at his rudest. He had stuck by him through the whole King of the Court thing, making him precious. But his real best friend was Hinata and Hinata alone.
Or so he had thought.
Until the ginger head and Suga had talked with him seriously about the need to make more friends, from outside of the volleyball club. He'd been reluctant, the old memories resurfacing, and hadn't put any effort into it. That was when Hinata, in a desperate attempt to make him sociable, spilled the beans about his past to his class. He'd been so in shock at the act, that he'd almost gone into one of his panic attacks.
Although his past revelations made his classmates understand him more, and he had made friends with people like Rikka, the class Prez, Mei, Subaru, among others, his best friend remained Hinata.
Up until Anzai arrived.
He introduced himself quickly, quietly, hood covering his head. He sat next to Kageyama and had actually slept through most of their classes. He never spoke to Kageyama, even when he needed something. He just tried to figure it out himself or gave up quickly.
As Kageyama told Hinata, 'it's like I'm sitting next to my own reflection'
Hinata had laughed a lot at that.
"Why don't you try making friends with him then? You'd be quite a pair."
For a while, Kageyama had been silent. Then he'd asked Hinata very seriously, whether he was fed up with their friendship. Although he had spoken calmly, his heart had been beating fast.
Hinata had shaken his head and explained how Kageyama was going to have to get over his fear of making friends or getting close to people. Kageyama had felt touched at how much his friend looked out for him and had decided to follow his advice, although he was doubtful.
The next day he'd tried to talk to Anzai and had been successful, although both of them, it turned out were just very socially awkward.
After four more months, Kageyama, Hinata, Anzai, Yamato, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, Yachi, Mei, Kumiko, had become the best of friends.
In that time, Kageyama had discovered that Anzai had a dare devil streak to him, once you got to know him really well. Anzai had discovered that although Kageyama and he had almost the same likes and dislikes, there was a huge difference between their temperaments. Kageyama got crankier faster, to no one's surprise. Anzai was the slightly more cheerful of the two.
Now the pair were really close and had been delighted when they had got assigned to the same school. Kageyama hadn't still told him about his crushes though.
"Hmm? Oh first day so no practice apparently" his 'friend' answered now.
"Wanna try spiking my sets?" Kageyama challenged, smirking.
The swimmer answered with a smirk of his own.
"Sure!"
As the two boys rushed into the gym, Kageyama glanced at the boy, racing beside him, blue wavy locks fluttering in the wind. For a moment, as he squinted, there seemed to be a ginger haired boy running by him.
"Look straight ahead idiot!" Anzai panted out, "or you'll f-fall!"
He looked ahead but he saw faces flash past in the back of his mind.
Hinata, Anzai, Yamato, Yamaguchi, Yachi, Tsukishima, Noya, Tanaka senpai, the two captains, Suga, Asahi, Narita, Kinnoshita, the new first years, Mei, Kumiko.
"I win!!" Anzai pumped his fist in the air.
Uncharacteristically for him, Kageyama nodded. Anzai looked at him, surprised. A soft smile came on Kageyama's lips, as he thought,
I may have lost a race, but I think I'm winning the marathon.

Now it’s a year to the day since I first found Gelebor in Darkfall Cave (I know, I’m late, got Skyrim in December 2015 and Dawnguard in 2020), and oh my.
I did know about him before, but used to stick my fingers in my ears and go *LALALALALA* every time Snow Elves came up, because spoilers.
All I knew about the Dawnguard questline was bla bla vampires bla bla go find Auri-El’s bow bla bla Snow Elves bla bla oh one of them is named Knight-Paladin Gelebor (and he has fluffy hair). That was it.
He was actually half the reason I purchased Dawnguard in the end. One, so many mods require DG, two, I wanted to meet the Snow Elf/ves. (I didn’t know if there were more. Some screenshots online may have confused me into thinking there were three; Gelebor and two allies, but I did not know about Vyrthur.)
I was surprised when I found him so quickly in the cave, and in the meeting (which I recorded in a screenshot video), I had to stop and take a break like “okay, breathe” while walking up because I had waited so long for this. XD
I went on his quest and finished it the next day, and my gods, I had never been so awed by a game before. Not because the writing is so amazing (it isn’t), but because of the Vale, what we learned of the Snow Elves, and Gelebor.
What to say? His story, his optimism, his kindness and politeness, his goshdamn sexy voice (no but seriously, what I wrote in my notes a few days later was that I could have him read intricate mudcrab anatomy to me for ten hours and I would listen to it all).
When I posted my drawing a few weeks later, I said I never had any real favorite characters in games before, even in Skyrim (though to be frank I play very few games that have characters), but Gelebor was so sweet, polite, regal and charming, he gets all top 10 spots.
I have to wonder how he managed to charm his way into so many people in only some ten minutes of actual “screentime”.
I have had two characters previously that I really got deep into, in my own life, so to say. They were Anakin (Skywalker) in my Star Wars phase of 2005-2018, and Qualin, my Dunmer I was playing late 2019-early 2021 (and will probably start over from scratch again). They are both rather... negative personalities.
If you’re not into Star Wars, I can just say Anakin is a lovable mess of anger issues, anxiety, angst, pride, confusion, and not a little sass. Qualin is entirely my character, but in general, he ended up being the Choleric-Melancholic temperament type, and “true neutral” alignment (meaning neither chaotic nor lawful, neither truly good nor truly evil), with a dark past (and dark future), based a lot on myself (but altered to fit a 79 year old male Dunmer assassin).
So I had these two rather negative personalities to wallow in and absorb. Now instead, I found Gelebor, who is the complete opposite of all that.
I’m going to sound like a total fangirl now (because I absolutely am not, obviously), but he is light, he is compassion, he is kindness, purity, peace, and optimism.
From my notes a year ago, translated:
I extrapolate a great deal in the story I am working on, but from what I’ve seen, he is (of course) enormously old (4000+ years), extremely religious (he lives only for his god), peaceful, calm, and with a good attitude - I imagine him with a constant smile on his lips, who has found peace with the horrible fate his people faced, he has found peace with all the evil he has seen and been victim of, he has found peace with being possibly the last of his kind, or he would have been driven completely mad from hate and grief over the millennia. I imagine him as tranquility itself, who smiles a lot, especially when he has company (he is friendly and helpful to everyone he meets and the game mechanics were made so that he was impossible to provoke), but who is also dignified and difficult to tempt to laughter.
Very, very different from me, as well. I am chaotic, full of humor, rough language and undignified behaviors (not by modern standards, but by those standards...), with a history of depression and outbursts.
I may be spilling too much, but when I started last year to imagine his backstory and (more important) future, I found myself stopping what I was doing at random times, standing still a lot with a smile that went all the way up to my eyes, almost constantly. That is what I do when I absorb him.
“What would Gelebor do?” is a good saying to take along.
Yes, I am absolutely putting him on a pedestal.
I keep writing on his future- and backstory, more or less fleshed out (sometimes full scenes and dialogue, sometimes only summaries), but it’s my headcanon up until his death.
Credit and source, big image Credit and source, middle in far right row The middle screenshot is not mine, can’t find the source but anyway, it’s a screenshot. :p Sorry for borrowing art but they’re so awesome and such beautiful representations of Gelebor that I couldn’t help it.
