HQ Akaashi - Y/N Getting in Accident (Angst to Fluff)

Imagine Y/n getting into an accident that she had to be hospitalized, but it just happened to be when Akaashi was out of town due to work. Y/n debates whether or not she should contact and inform Akaashi about her situation, but she decided to go against it since she didn't want to bother him. Also, it wasn't like she was dying, she should be released soon. She thought it wasn't much of a big deal.

However, her being silent doesn't mean that Akaashi won't be informed of her situation. She forgot about that part that she was shock when her door opened with a loud bang, revealing Akaashi who was out of breath.

"Keiji...?" Y/n called out his name in shock. "What are you doing here? How about work? How did you know I was here?"

When Akaashi looked up, Y/n bit her lips and looked away from him. She saw how he was at the verge of breaking down. She didn't mean to cause him any worries. She felt fine, so she didn't contact him, but apparently that wasn't what Akaashi wanted.

"Why...?" Akaashi mumbled as he approached her. When y/n looked at him hesitantly, he kneeled beside her bed and held her hands tightly. "Why didn't you tell me?"

Y/n opened her mouth to speak, but she couldn't really form any words as she didn't know what to say exactly. Should she be honest? Or should she apologize first?

At her hesitation, Akaashi's grip tightened. "Am I that unreliable? Am I nothing to you?"

"No, of course not!" Y/n said in a hurry. "I... I just... I'm sorry..."

At her apology, Akaashi let out a shaky breath before speaking. "Please... Do you know how I felt when I heard from someone else that you were in an accident? The fact that I wasn't there for you as soon as you woke up, it just broke my heart..."

"I'm sorry, Keiji..." Y/n said in a low voice. "I just didn't want to bother you since you were out of town and I felt fine, so I thought it wasn't significant."

"Everything about you is significant... So please, don't keep these things from me. Tell me..." Akaashi said with pleading voice. "I want to be there for you. To be able to support you, to be someone you can rely on. I want to be your pillar."

Y/n felt her eyes turning teary at his words as she nodded. At her actions, Akaashi sighed in relief before hugging her tightly.

It was like everything went back to normal after this incident, but this somewhat have traumatized Akaashi that he developed the habit to video call rather than messaging her since she can just lie through text. But he will still message her even more frequently to check up on her and tries not to go out of town, making sure he was beside her. At the same time, he will take care of her even more than he used to, keeping a hawk eye on her.

Nekoma, Seijoh, Fukurodani || 3rd-year!reader

✮ Nekoma ✮

To be a little honest, you were quite nervous to see your ex-schoolmates. But work must be done, so you’re pulling an empty cart that once carried the volleyballs onto the opposite side of the room to refill it. Exactly where they are. They’ve been staring at you during the initial greeting in the parking lot. But you couldn’t make eye-contact from awkwardness. After that, they’ve started focusing on practice. However, you could only avoid them for so long.

“Well, well, well, if it isn’t the one that got away…” a familiar silky voice is heard. You turn to see Kuroo with a smirk on his face. Kenma is next to him coughing into his hand.

“Traitor!” the blonde setter chokes out.

“Hey, I heard that.” You finally give them your attention. Although, a little guilt roams within your heart from his word. The smirk on Kenma’s face shows that he doesn’t really mean it.

“Huh, I was beginning to think you were totally ignoring us,” Kuroo stands, arm crossed, and his devilish grin turning into a soft smile. You walk over to them.

“Sorry, I just…didn’t know how you’d all react to see me…here.” Kenma opens his mouth to say something when Lev, Yaku, Yamamoto, and Inuoka run over to you, almost tackling your body. They must’ve noticed your presence.

“Y/n!!” The loud guys are teary, clutching onto you in a group hug. Laughing, you hug them back. “I miss you guys, too.”

“Oi! Give her some space!” Kuroo tugs one of them, Yaku, by the collar, after some time of hugging.

Kenma tugs on Lev’s jacket. “c’mon guys,” he says while Fukunaga sits on the bleachers with Kai laughing at the scene. When they finally let go, you turn to the remaining guys you haven’t given a hug, arms open.

“Okay, you’re guys’ turn!”

Kuroo scoffs. “You think we forgive you—I forgive you?” the captain says a little too dramatically, a hand placed on his heart. You roll your eyes.

“Alright fine, minus Kuroo,” you say, turning to the others who smile and gladly take your offer. Kenma reaches you first, before Kai and Fukunaga join in, hugging you. Just then, an additional figure, one that is taller, moves behind you. Two arms embracing the group.

“It’s not the same without you,” Kuroo pouts. Your hand reaches up behind you to pat his rooster hair. “There, there, big guy. I’m sure you’re all doing fine.” Fukunaga snorts at your comment. And it makes you all break into laughter, before you pull away. “But just because you’re one of the…crows,” Kuroo pronounces ‘crows’ with a distasteful tone. “doesn’t mean we’ll go any easier,” he says with a cunning expression.

“You got that right,” Yaku joins in.

“We’ll show you what you missed out on!” Lev exclaims, arms resting on his hips. By the determined looks on their faces, you might’ve given Karasuno a slight disadvantage.

✮ Aoba Johsai ✮

Since the day you officially became manager of Karasuno’s volleyball team, you’ve dreaded bumping into your ex-school team. Why? Because you know them. They will not let you hear the end of it. That’s why you purposely tried to avoid them, arriving late, hiding in the bleachers. But it was inevitable. Especially when Coach Ukai called your name for some help. The mere mention of your name catches the ears of the rival team.

“Pfft! Look who it is…” Iwaizumi laughs in disbelief, as he watches you slowly jump from the bleachers, in the school’s black jersey, head low in defeat. Just as Oikawa was about to take a drink from his bottle, he lowers it.

“Wh— y/n-chan?!?! The hell?? No, no, no…” Oikawa has his head in his hands. The only thing in his mind is the fact that Karasuno (Tobio’s school!!) took one of their great managers. Why did it have to be Tobio’s school??? Meanwhile, Matsukawa sprays the drink from his mouth upon realizing it was actually you. Only you wear those shoes, walk like that with your hands behind your back, ponytail bouncing with each step.

“Hah, I can’t actually believe this,” Hanamaki chuckles. Then there’s Kindaichi who is speechless and repeatedly slapping the arm of a tired Kunimi on the bench. Annoyed, Kunimi looks up from his hunched form, following Kindaichi’s gaze. The boy who’s eyes were droopy from exhaustion, is now widening from shock when he notices you frolicking amongst the crows. Yahaba is probably the most heartbroken, next to Kyoutani, who has his eyebrows furrowed out of confusion and incredulity.

As you walk back into the gym, you accidentally caught onto their stares. Oh no. Oikawa is quick to approach you, some of them following him.

“So! Y/n-chan, when were you gonna tell us that you were gonna be the volleyball manager for our rival team? When you pull the knife from my back?” Oikawa asks with a passive aggressive smile. You sweetly smile back, wanting to argue like you usually do with Seijoh’s captain. Man, you miss his snarky remarks.

But Iwaizumi is behind him, slapping the setter’s head before you could retort. “Shut up, Shittykawa.” The ace turns to you. “Y/N! Really didn’t expect to see you here,” he starts. “I hope you’re not teaching them any of our tricks.” Iwaizumi squints at you. You put your hands up defensively as a joke.

Matsukawa and Hanamaki sit on the floor next to you. “If you do, we got some more tricks we came up with—without you. So, you don’t have to worry about us, losing,” Matsukawa confidently affirms with a smirk.

Oikawa pouts. “I still can’t believe you’re managing for our rival team—our rival team!!” You walk over to him, giving small pats on his shoulder.

“C’mon, Oikawa-kun, managing is fun! Plus, I got great credentials for it! And…” you lean in to whisper. “You guys will always be my home team. Always,” you place a palm over your heart before adding, “don’t tell Karasuno.” Your words seem to comfort them, especially the troubled Oikawa, who now has a softened look.

“Hmmph. At least it wasn’t Shiratorizawa, that would’ve been unforgivable,” the setter mumbles to himself.

“Y/N!” Yahaba is practically sobbing at this point from hearing what you said.

“Awww, y/n!!” Hanamaki pulls you in for a hug, and messes the top of your hair. Iwaizumi seems to also be getting a little emotional as he turns to the side, cupping a hand over his eyes. Soon, the others are joining the hug. Even Oikawa, who is reluctant at first.

You look over at Kunimi and Kindaichi who awkwardly idle by, and you wave a hand, motioning them to join. And Kindaichi is quickly running like an excited kid, pulling his stoic friend in too. A part of you is glad that they are still the same doofs as they were before you left them. It doesn’t take long for your current school’s team to drag you back, Tanaka and Nishinoya hitting themselves for not watching you carefully enough that you almost got stolen by the enemy team. Seijoh did try to sneak you back to their side.

✮ Fukurodani ✮

“If only y/n were here…it feels lonely without them,” Bokuto suddenly remembers you. And as if a genie granted his wish, one of Fukurodani’s managers, Suzumeda, shouts your name and there you were in all your glory rushing over to chat. A small commotion happens between the bunch.

“Speak of the devil…” The wing spiker, Konoha nods to your direction. Bokuto’s mouth is wide open, watching you walk over after a quick reunion with Suzumeda and Yukie. The usual cool-headed Akaashi is surprised himself, turning his head slightly your way.

“Oh my gosh! Hey, guys!” You greet them. The black jacket you wore was very off-putting to them. Akaashi is first to acknowledge you.

“Y/N-san!” the blue-eyed setter greets you first with a friendly hug. “It’s a surprise to see you, here!”

“Well, I meant to let you all know before we met, but I’ve just been caught up with some manager stuff,” you explain as you’re giving other members a hug.

Compared to the others who greeted you with open arms and smile, Bokuto had a hostile attutude, his arms crossed. As if he wasn’t one of those bawling his eyes on your last day at Fukurodani.

“Heh, I’ve seen you already adjusted well to this school, eh?” a petty Bokuto says as you walk up to him.

“Look how quick they became the manager already,” Konoha teases, still finding the outfit your wearing really weird.

“Right?!We were the school with the most pretty managers and now Karasuno beat us! Why, y/n?! Why?!” Komi kneels to your feet, his head on the ground showing frustration. You shake your head and help the poor libero up.

“Listen, I miss you guys, too!! But it is what it is…” you calmly explain.

“It iS wHaT iT iS,” Bokuto repeats mockingly. You giggle, looking over at Bokuto’s petty behavior.

“Bo, can I get a hug??” You know he loves hugs.

His lips twitch, trying to maintain his cool posture, but it breaks and he’s running into your open arms. “Why’d you leave ussssss???” he cries, getting a little teary.

“There, there,” you pat his back. “I’m sure you’re all doing fine in the hands of two great managers.” Yukie and Suzumeda are on the side, watching with grateful smiles after hearing your words. Everyone one else eventually joins in the group hug.

“Hey, bring back our manager,” Tanaka’s voice is heard from behind. Nishinoya stands next to him, both acting like bodyguards with their hands in their pocket.

“I guess that’s my cue. Gotta go. It was nice catching up,” you say, leaving them. Small grumbles and ‘aw’s can be heard amongst them. “See you guys later!” you wave at your manager friends, who planned to have lunch with you and the Karasuno managers.

“Y/N-san.” Akaashi calls once again, making you turn back to your old schoolmates. “We’ll make you proud.” Those words made your heart skip a beat, but then you hear a laugh from the group.

“Wow, Akaashi, you almost sounded cool saying that. Almost,” Konoha jokes. Except Akaashi wasn’t trying to be cool, he was being serious.

You could tell from how they were playing the whole day. At times Bokuto would glance over you, making sure that you’re seeing them win or would shout: “Y/N! Did you see that spike I made?” They really improved a lot from the last time you saw them. Every time they would make a winning point, you couldn’t help but celebrate along.

“FUKU-RO-DANI!” you’d clap, cheering for them and trying to restrain yourself from running over to their side of the court. Fukurodani members respond back by sending you a holler. It makes some Karasuno members look at you. They’re unsure how to react, knowing that you were an ex-Fukurodani student. “Sorry, force of habit,” you’d apologize sheepishly. They’re understanding, though. Kiyoko is giggling at your reaction while Daichi pats your shoulder, giving a reassuring smile.

“It’s alright. Even I want to cheer for them.” The captain’s words fill you will pride. Fukurodani would always be your home school after all.

You're livid at the moment. Your period was nearing and your stupid tracker said it was still 2 weeks away, but here you are, feeling symptoms of pain. It got so bad that now you're wide awake, slightly nauseous and stomach cramping.

The screen on your phone lit up, mocking you with its time, there's no way you're sleeping anymore. You can't even skip school because there's an important topic being covered in math before the big test in two days.

You took some medicine for the cramps and headache, you figured you might as well watch some comfort movies to help you feel better and distract your mind.

Quickly the movie became a little boring from seeing it so many times, your backpack was right next to your bed and you took out some papers to review and do homework that wasn't quite due yet.

But it was time consuming, soon enough your alarm went off despite you still being awake, it startled you. You've never felt more tired than right now, you lazily move around the house, gathering your things, you felt out of it, forgetting things and you're just now remembering what they were on your walk to school.

The pounding in your head never subsided, if anything it just got worse. The hallways were cramped and loud, bringing you more discomfort. As long as you wait it out until math then you could go home, the rest of your classes were pretty simple at the moment.

You sit down at your desk, having a few extra minutes before the bell rang. At least the classroom was somewhat quiet. Just as you lay your head on the desk, your name was yelled.

"Y/N!!"

That voice belonged to no one other than your boyfriend, Koutarou. You flinch from the loudness, trying your best to compose yourself and not blow up.

"Kou." You lift your head up.

"Will you be at practice today? We're scrimmaging!" He excitedly says.

Others around you paid no mind to Bokuto, he's always loud and it's gotten really easy to brush him off.

"I got split off from Akaashi, which sucks, but it's fine because I'm still gonna win." He puffs his chest out.

"Kou, can you bring the volume level-"

"So are ya coming or not?!" He says exaggerated.

"Listen-"

"Oh! Do you think you can help me study today? At my place? We can walk together after practice." He goes on.

"I don't think today-"

"You look terrible. Did you even sleep?" He notes your tired features.

"I'm trying to tell you something!" You lose patience. He was taken back, "You're asking me so many questions and won't let me answer, Koutarou." You sigh. "Now-"

"Oh." He interrupts you, "Sorry. I should get to-um class." He looks upset and leaves the room.

Great. Now you've got a sad boyfriend and you feel like shit. You shouldn't have raised your voice at him, he couldn't have known.

Class went on and it felt like forever, you were for sure leaving after math, this was unbearable. The bell rang for lunch and you were one of the first ones out, signing yourself to leave and on your way home.

You still feel bad about Koutarou, you sent him a message asking to talk, but he hasn't answered. He never leaves you on delivered, especially for this long.

The lack of sleep definitely hit you as soon as you plopped on your bed, you barely changed out of your school uniform, leaving your backpack on your bed as you drifted off to sleep.

Your mom comes in to check on you, noticing you're still sleeping. You had told her you felt sick and she made sure to check up on you.

"She's sleeping still, if you want to come back later you can." Your mom whispers to Koutarou as he enters the room, freshly showered.

"Is it alright if I stay? I promise I won't stay the night, I just want to make sure she's ok." He looks over at you worriedly.

"Of course, you're always welcome here." She says and with that silently shuts the door.

Koutarou sits on the edge of your bed, he heard from one of your friends that you didn't feel well at all and left before lunch.

Now he feels like he was over dramatic with you, he scolds himself for not taking in your body language first before disturbing you.

He sits beside you on the bed, your head easing itself on his lap, he played with your hair, hoping it'll get rid of whatever you're feeling. Your mom came back with some homemade soup and water, he thanks her as she sets it down.

You shift in your sleep, slowly opening your eyes, the headache has gone down quite a bit, but it still lingers.

"Woah woah, easy, baby." Koutarou whispers.

"Kou?" You sit up, getting a good look at him. "What time is it? Did I miss the practice?"

"Don't worry about it, my team won, but that's besides the point." He breathes. "I'm sorry for not noticing that you were sick. I overreacted."

"I should be the one apologizing. I yelled at you this morning. I'm sorry, Kou." Your place a hand on his cheek. He places one of his on top of yours.

"Still, I shouldn't be yelling that early anyway." He chuckles.

"Me too." You join him. "I'm really sorry." You frown.

"It's okay, babe." He kisses your forehead. "Are you hungry? Do you want some medicine?" He's attentive to you, reading your body language.

"I am kinda hungry." You yawn.

"Lucky for you." He says and reaches over you, "I have soup." He sheepishly smiles.

"Thank you, Kou. I wasn't feeling good at all earlier." You sigh. "I wanted to at least wake up for the practice, but that obviously didn't happen."

"It's okay. Your health is more important, call me next time you can't sleep. I want to help." He says sweetly, spoon feeding you.

"I didn't even sleep."

"Well neither would I if you called me, I could've kept you company." He kisses your cheek.

"Yeah." You smile. Eating the soup you're pretty sure your mom made. "How was the practice game? You said you won."

"It went well." He looked off to the side.

"Kou." You knew that look. "Don't tell me you got all emo mode." Your face was frowning, knowing you were the cause of it.

"I couldn't help it! I thought you were mad at me." He huffs. "You haven't even told me what's wrong either." He crossed his arms dramatically and continued to look away.

"Kou." You let out a breathy laugh. "I'm about to be on my period. That's why I don't feel good." You unwrap his arms and put one of them around you.

"It's not supposed to start for another 2 weeks I thought? I track it on my phone." He brings you impossibly closer to him.

"You and me both." You rolled your eyes. "Otherwise I would've been more prepared and I wouldn't have gotten this bad."

"I'm sorry." He kisses your forehead. "I'll make you feel better." He finished feeding you the soup and places the plate back where your mom had set it.

He moved you both so you'd be lying down on the bed, easing your headache. You tested your head on his chest.

"Thank you, baby." You mutter. "I feel so much better already."

"It's the least I can do." He hums and kisses the top of your head.

He promised your mom he wouldn't be spending the night, but here he was, sleeping so peacefully with you in his arms.

Your mom came in to collect the plate and didn't have the heart to wake either of you up, she snapped a quick picture and shut the door behind her.

HAIKYUU SEXUALITY HEADCANONS

🦉 Fukurodani Edition 🦉

Washio Tatsuki: Gay. When I first sat down and decided to give most of these characters a sexuality headcanon, I saw him and my first thought was "yeah there is no way he is into women." So I cannot for the life of me see him as anything other than a functional gay man. He definitely thinks Konoha and Akaashi are very pretty. Also thinks that Inarizaki's #2 middle blocker is very handsome.

Sarukui Yamoto: Bisexual with a female preference. I honestly really ship him with Shirofuku and I have no idea why. I just went "they are totally dating" one day and it's kind of just stuck. But I can also see him getting together with Komi or even just another boy (on his team or not) in general. He's a bit of a bi disaster sometimes but he's mostly functioning. Totally refers to Shirofuku as his wife later in their relationship.

Bokuto Koutarou: Pansexual. Now I know what you're all probably thinking. And I'm not gonna lie and say you aren't right, but you're only half right. I can see Bokuto having the ability to love someone SO much. He loves anyone and everyone. Obviously has a thing for Akaashi but also thinks Konoha is very pretty and handsome. Thought Shirofuku was very beautiful when he saw her for the first time. Total b(romance) with Kuroo.

Akaashi Keiji: Pansexual. I am quite unsure why I think this label fits him so well. Obviously he has an thing for Bokuto, but I can also see him falling in love with Ennoshita or Konoha. Thinks Suzumeda is very pretty as a female and could see himself dating her if he felt any attraction towards her. He's still a bit unsure of his identity, but he likes the label pansexual so he sticks with it despite what anyone else says.

Konoha Akinori: Bisexual with no preference. So I sort of saw him as gay when I first started making headcanon lists. Then I started seeing the potential of him with girls and decided he would be bisexual. Now he has had crushes on every single one of his teammates, cause he just loves easily like that, but Washio, Komi and Akaashi are the only ones still going strong. Thinks the managers are too pretty for this world. Also thinks that Kai is very very handsome and that he wouldn't mind kissing him–

Onaga Wataru: Panromantic Asexual. Now he gives me the vibe of a sex repulsed asexual. He's still a bit nervous about the label though because it's all very new to him. Romantically, I can see him be interested in everyone on the team at least once. Definitely nursed a puppy crush on Bokuto during his first few months as a first year. Thinks Akaashi is very pretty (like everyone else though for real). He thinks Washio is so goddamn handsome it is not even funny, like holy shit please praise his blocks more–

Komi Haruki: Pansexual. Can and will hit on anything that doesn't say no. He's always on the lookout for somebody to love. Has the tiniest little crush on Konoha. Appreciates the fact that both Washio and Bokuto can bench press him with those tree trunks they have for arms. Thinks Onaga is cute but like in a boyish way. Probably had a puppy crush on Suzumeda in their first year after he saw her giggle at something stupid Bokuto did.

Suzumeda Kaori: Straight Asexual. Now contrary to what the rest of the fandom headcanons her as, I just cannot see her crushing on any girls. I also see her as sex repulsed like Onaga, hence her joking with the team about how her and Onaga are the team's "real aces". She's very supportive of her teammates and will punch someone out if they give her team any trouble.

Shirofuku Yukie: Straight. Now I would be lying if I said shipping her with Sarukui had nothing to do with if, but similarly to Suzumeda I just cannot see her being interested in other girls at all. She's very comfortable with herself and her identity and is very supportive of the rest of the team. She does think Bokuto is cute, but in a "not attracted to you" kind of way. Probably dated a boy or two in junior high before Sarukui.

I already thought of this beforehand...so i guess i'll write down the schedule here as it's easier to understand.
