People were harrassing Etoiles for supposedly saying the N-Word (wich ended up being someone else) and he answered in french saying that He NEVER said it, and that the only possibility for him saying it COULD have been 10 years ago singing a rap song at home. (a time where he wasn't streaming and nobody was really aware of the meaning of that word in france), wich ended up having more people harrassing him because they understood "I never said it except one time 10 years ago", while he said "I would never (and have never said it), the only thing possible is potentially that happened 10 years ago in the context of a rap song because they were in a lot of them but I don't even remember that happening." He finished by saying he apologizes for anything and that in no way he advocates racism or the use of this word but that he is getting tired of getting insulted over things he didn't do and would never do.

I swear if I see one more “I haven’t seen the show / I have seen just out of context snippets of it but it’s clearly thrash!!” I’m gonna commit unspeakable crimes.

Look, I get having doubts or criticisms about it. I have criticisms about it for fuck’s sake! I said it before I did not like everything they did with the story/characters in this adaptation but it has it’s moments. It’s fine.

You still have the original if you didn’t like it that much but if you are gonna watch it in bad faith or not watch it at all and complain without even trying to see what they are doing I’m sorry but that’s on you not on the live action being trash.

Even the movie that shall not be named had some elements that were decent, dare I say good even. That still doesn’t make it a good movie or adaptation but being able to recognize that even dumpster fires can have small gems in them is valuable. You could find a point of view of a story you love that you hadn’t seen/thought about before. It’s enriching what we love even if by a fraction. And we can still criticize the stuff that doesn’t work but you have to give it a chance first or else you’ll never be satisfied.

I’m tired of the hate for the sake of it and you are not cool for it.

Dear antis, If you're going to get upset every time someone in your DNI interacts with you, then you had better start checking the profiles of those you interact with to make sure you aren't in their DNI in turn. It is extremely annoying to have "antiship DNI" being one of the first things that can be seen within my blog blurb upon mouseover, and yet to have the things I post still be liked and reblogged, and to be followed by people with "proship DNI" in their own. Indeed, I have made it very clear upon my main blog (not this one, in other words) for anyone with eyes or a screenreader to see / hear that I in fact fall within the proship side of fandom catfighting.
