Alright hear me out. An autistic restaurant. The lights are dim. The chairs are customizable so you can sit however suits you. The plates all have divider sections. You can order from a giant selection of safe foods that are all prepared separately. You can mix and match as you choose but by default none of the things you order are touching. You put your order in via text message to the server. When they drop everything off they wait a reasonable amount of time before checking if things are okay so you can process whether or not they are. Every table comes with "reorder" coupons so you don't feel guilty about asking them to fix mistakes. One side of the restaurant is for quiet and the other is for people who want to talk. There is sound proofing. You order an appetizer of fidget toys before you order your food.

Tis the season for potlucks and whatnot. If you're a cool & kind person who provides allergy lists on the dishes you bring - a very warm & sincere thank you from myself and countless others who benefit from these!
May I suggest an upgrade? For many of us, the cause of our suffering doesn't always come from common allergens or triggers. What helps folks like myself the most is to provide the full ingredient list.
If you worked from a recipe or made it from a box, just bringing that with you will help out anyone who needs to do a more thorough check of what we put into our sensitive little flesh-bags.
And again, thank you so much for helping to make the world safer & more comfortable for all of us! I know I'm biased, but I sincerely believe that no one should have to avoid or suffer through social events just because their body can be a bully sometimes.

Bro how do my parents look at this story that they find so hilarious of me when I was five throwing a fit because I didn’t know what was on the egg they were trying to feed me and shouting that I didn’t wanna eat it only to find out it was yolk from another egg, still throwing a fit and shouting “I DON’T WANT EGG ON MY EGG!!!” and not realize that I’m some flavor of nerodivergent, probably ADHD or autism if not both?!?!

Onions make me sick nine times out of ten and sometimes I want to cry about that bc everybody always says that onion rings are one of the foods ever and sure I could eat them, I wouldn't die or anything, and I have eaten them in the past, but I wouldn't feel well later and I'm really trying to set that boundary where if it makes me feel bad I won't eat it even if it does taste good but I'm envious of people who can go to restaurants and not have to worry about are there onions in this? how are they cooked? what kind of onions are they? will this be one of the nine times? should I risk it? especially if it's like a special food like a good chili restaurant that involves onions bc I hate feeling like I've missed out just cuz my stupid digestive system does not get on with onions

it’s okay to do things that make your symptoms worse (as long as you’ll stay safe)
every once in a while you need to eat something yummy. or go on a walk. or a trip to the zoo. take a hot shower. cry your eyes out. dance. listen to music. draw for way to long. write. laugh. sit in a cafe with a friend. paint your nails. dye your hair. go on a run. pet a cat
sometimes you need to do things that are cathartic or make yourself feel alive. sometimes you need the reminder of why you’re fighting so hard to stay alive
this is your reminder that just because it makes your symptoms worse, it isn’t always the wrong thing to do. there can be value in these actions

My friend and I started sending each other ratings of new foods & drinks we try and it helps a lot with helping me feel open to trying new things. With discovering new safe foods. And I don’t feel like I’ve wasted food when I can warn someone about it.

Casein vs. Whey: What's The Difference + Is One Better For Me?
For years, experts have recommended consuming protein within a post-exercise anabolic window15 of 30 to 120 minutes to optimize skeletal muscle growth and fat-burning. However, more recent research16 has indicated that protein timing isn’t as critical as we initially thought. So instead of feeling the need to slam a whey protein shake after your workout, you can just eat protein throughout the…

So I would like to make a post about food allergies given the information I've been taught by my allergist regarding my food allergies.
The difference between food allergy, sensitivity, and intolerance.
Allergy. This is the classic anaphylaxis.
Sensitivity. This is caused by allergies, but the risk here isn't anaphylaxis. It's inflammation in gut that can cause fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, generalized ick feeling.
Intolerance. Your body is literally unable to process the food. It lacks the ability to, which means the food causes inflammation in the gut, causing similar symptoms as sensitivity.
Sensitivities will show up on an allergy test. Intolerance has to take a different test specific for that type of intolerance.
I mention this because I see a lot of fake claiming food allergies that's like "Yeah but I cross contaminated the food with eggs and that didn't kill her. She must be lying." Yeah food sensitivities can be pretty mild. Where if you give them an egg salad, they're gonna be having a bad day. But if you rub egg on their burger, they may not even notice.
Also like there's a lot of medical conditions that can affect a person's diet. They may have stomach issues that means they can't eat a lot of acidic foods, and if saying "Hey, I'm allergic to pineapple" gets you to not put pineapple juice in their drink because it'll cause a flare-up. I'm all for people doing whatever they need to make sure their health is taken seriously. Even if it's outright lying because food allergies is the only fucking thing people seem to take seriously in this world.
Anyways take people's "I can't eat this food" seriously. And don't fake claim them if they go "I can't eat this food but I'm not at risk if there's cross contamination"
