It's also the boundary that we must draw with those who try to manipulate and control our lives. It is perfectly valid and needs no further justification. tips for entering your well-being era 🪷

this is a good question. i would definitely start a well-being journal. writing down all of the things you want to start doing and also things you want to stop doing. being healthy mentally, physically and also your happiness is all forms of well-being. so writing down a list of bad habits that you want to quit would be really helpful. then write down good habits you that want to pick up.
well-being tips
eating : you can start to add some fruit or vegetables into your daily meals. i would start with something you find at least a little tasty. that’s what i do. i don’t love vegetables so the few that i don’t mind i try and eat more. don’t force yourself to eat something you don’t like or else it will make dinner time a little less appealing. i love fruit so i eat that way more.
exercising : maybe try and exercise 2-3 times a week. also do something enjoyable. dancing is great exercise, especially when you turn on your favorite songs, it doesn’t even seem like working out because it’s fun. walking is also good exercise. i’m all about doing things that you don’t hate but it also gets the job done.
sleep : this is something i definitely had to work on. i feel like a good sleep schedule is important for your well-being. for me personally, staying up really late and then waking up really late didn’t help me mentally. being up when it’s bright outside makes my mental health so much better. it makes me want to get more things done, it makes me want to journal, workout and overall just be more productive. also the amount of sleep you get can effect your mood, so it’s really important .
positivity : your thoughts and surroundings can effect your well-being. filling your mind with positive things is so important. i know it’s not realistic to think positive all the time but being mindful and aware can help. if you find yourself thinking negatively try to stop that thought then and there and find something positive to replace it with. think of ways you can flip the bad thoughts into something good.
for example : if you think “ i hate my room” your following thought should be “how can i change my room into something i like”. now instead of leaving that negative thought to linger you’re now thinking of ways to redo your room which can turn into a fun process.
also be mindful of the people around you. if you’re always around negative people/toxic people it could effect your mental health which is effecting your well-being. be around positive people, people who uplift you, who are there for you, people who make you happy.
social media : social media plays a big part in your well-being. being online constantly, reading / seeing negativity, engaging in arguments, seeing things that trigger you … these are all things that you should be avoiding. i would say limit your time online because being online a lot can really do damage to someone mentally. so spend more time doing fun things in real life.
for example : spend time reading a book, going for a walk, playing board games with friends, going out to eat, having picnics, watching comfort shows/movies, etc .
self love : one of the biggest forms of well-being is self love. even if you’re working on things to improve yourself you should still love yourself during that process. love your flaws, forgive yourself for the mistakes you’ve made, compliment yourself regularly, take time to think about what makes you happy, what things you want and need in life. you have to make yourself a priority. you’re important and you deserve that kind of love and attention.

“Inspired by paradigms of wholeness and purity, our conception of psychological healing often comes to us heavy with metaphors of cleanliness and subtraction. Remove the trauma. Make a boundary. Identify the inciting incident. Disentangle it from your other parts. Separate, analyze, quantify, medicate. A patient is a fiction created by a conceptual framework with its foundation in capitalism and colonialism. A patient is a single self that can untie itself from the world and then granulate into a distinct pointillism of traumatic events, parental missteps, and pathologies. Analysis and diagnosis themselves are terms that, when we break them down to their roots, –imply just that - “breaking down”. Analysis comes from “analyein” meaning to “unfasten” “unmoor a ship”. A patient is isolated, unmoored, in a fictional idea of selfhood that is hardly seaworthy. Diagnosis, similarly, comes from the Greek roots “dia” and “gignoskein” meaning to obtain knowledge by separating it off from the rest of the world. Knowledge through separation, through rupture, through atomization. There is no better diagnosis for our culture’s ecocidal madness than the root of the word diagnosis itself. How do we possibly think we can understand any thing, being, ecosystem, pathology, uprooted, unmoored from its web of relationality? How do we treat a psychological breakdown with another break down? We are atomized out of community, out of our distributed bodies and intelligences that might have an easier time holding grief and pain too big for single selves. If we are always playing mental forensics with ourselves, increasingly stuck in a solipsistic feedback loop of self investigation, we often loose touch with the real knowledge.”
