This image was made with the FIMO app on my iPhone6, while waiting to hop the train back to my hometown of Leicester, UK, after an overnight stop in Birmingham. Generally I’m using my phone less and less to shoot images, but this app is truly amazing, for getting a‘near film’ experience. It knocks Hipstermatic for six as far as I’m concerned.

As I write, it’s 3:18 am, I’m awake in the cold of the night, thinking I will be out on the street in a few hours time, shooting on film, aD wandering around, for an hour or so. As I have to use a walking stick these days, it’s a whole new ballgame, trying to shoot stuff in the street, while staying upright, and not falling over as has happened a couple of times in recent months.

Mmhh... That one's hard because there's not a lot of art forms I haven't at least tried to touch to be honest? I love to see any sort of 3D craft though, like... I follow a bunch of people who make clay figures, I find it fascinating. I've tried and made a bunch before but I'm not very good at it... I should try again actually, I still have a WIP in the living room from months ago,,

Oboy. Most of what I do is digital art, so there's not much to break — if you count all the pens I've broken and screens I've cracked and the gloves I've lost I'd say about a dozen things altogether... But I've definitely broken an ink pen tip before, and probably some clay tools, and oh, fimo dough stuff as well, I've broken so many fimo dough tools not knowing if they were heat resistant or not... I'm not going to count erasers impulsively broken in half but if you add pencils and watercolor brushes and markers... Uhh, 60 things maybe? I am not very good at keeping things in good shape. Or keeping them at all. I lose stuff a lot.

That one's hard. I mostly do portraits. The second other thing I draw most is flowers but I don't really like to draw them. ...Oh, big clothes and anything that has folds ! I love drawing folds. Like on scarves or big sweaters or hoodies. Fabric is nice. I just wish I thought about using more texture but I constantly just forget that's an option.

Hi!

I know it's a bit out of the blue in this blog, but i finally had the courage to publish my art in my etsy shop.

The idea was there 10 years ago, but due to university, depression and life in general, my first adventure (with Fimo figurines) was short lived. During this decade I always left the possibility in a corner of my brain, that one day maybe I can finally have my own arts and crafts little shop and I can follow my dream of becoming an artist. And I finally did it, the first terrifying small step.

After being rejected for the Nth time in a job application (apparently you need an university degree to fill the shelves at ikea, no matter the recommendation letter from Amazon, which, btw, apparently blocked my ability to apply for a job with them again) and feeling pretty miserable, I finally got the courage to say "nothing else to lose".

I've religiously watched as many tutorials as possible about procreate, speed paints, etsy etc and I found out that I really enjoy making cartoonish designs. I found the world of twitch badges/emotes and I gave it a try. I love making things "evolve", coming up with ideas and be able to draw them and be proud of the results.

For now I offer digital download, but if things go well I plan to expand to stickers, acrylic Keychains, enamel pins, and finally 3D printed figurines. All the other profit will go towards my apartment fund, to be able to finally move out from my family house and be independent.

I know my following here is for The Sims content, and I WON'T stop doing it, I'll keep creating for the sims cause I love the game and I love making CCs, especially Sets. I just wanted to let you know that I started this new adventure too and I plan to put my heart and soul into it till I can finally call it my job. I am terrified but I'll do my best, please wish me luck. 🤞

My favourite scents and flavors are rose, violet, lavender, and other florals. I cannot stuff enough floral in my senses I just love it. My mother had a huge elaborate flower garden in the backyard so perhaps it's unconscious nostalgia for summertime, running around free of school, in my backyard, chasing my cats around

I used to be SO GIRLY as a kid that I refused to play Nintendo because it was "for boys". I think I had actually got it into my head that if I didn't act enough like a girl, I wouldn't be allowed to be one. I thought that was the point of gendered things, to sort of rack up a high gender score. I didn't know that I was a cis girl and they would've insisted on me being a girl even if I hadn't tried so hard! Anyway then I was 10 years old and bored silly at my cousins' house, so I agreed to try playing Super Mario Bros. 3. Why had nobody ever told me that gaming was THIS MUCH FUN LOL... instantly a gamer was born and I did a 180 on video games being "for boys". I just became even more girly to compensate.

What I did before video games sucked in all my attention: Roller skating, dolls (with real elaborate storylines, not that "playing house" thing that no child I know ever actually did), Star Trek, lots of reading (especially spec fic), arts and crafts, and miniatures. My mom taught summer classes in sewing to kids of all ages, and was a theatre/opera costumer besides, so you can imagine the sort of craft materials I grew up playing with. I got to use a little of the good stuff sometimes, and I learned all kinds of crafts from Fimo sculpting to cross stitch. So I was always kind of off in my own little pretend bubble, making up imaginary worlds and dramatizing what happens when the council of the Bright Rings* passes judgment upon the Lightsage's apprentice for defying the imperial Rose Petal Place law, or what-have-you.

Rencontre Avec Guy Lafond, Enseignant De Sculpture Sur Bois À Luiad

Confectionnez un gabarit sur une feuille de papier et reportez-le sur une tranche de bois. Évitez la rupture des fibres à la coupe en choisissant une courbure faible. Utilisez une scie à ruban pour la découpe et peaufinez les détails à l’aide d’une râpe ou d’un rifloir. Pour les finitions, poncez la pièce de bois à l’aide d’un papier abrasif 120. Les drapés se traitent avec la pointe pour créer des fronces en "V" là où la cape se resserre. L'aiguisage est expliqué, mais pas suffisamment dans le détail. Les exemples sont nombreux (et donc pas peu détaillés) et trop compliqués pour des débutants. Le Carving Faces Workbook, de Harold Enlow, est une excellente référence pour tous ceux qui souhaitent sculpter des visages en bois. La publication fait 144 pages et contient de belles illustrations. Ce livre est facile à utiliser et ne nécessite aucune compétence particulière.

Il faut être très minutieux pour ne pas déraper avec le couteau, sinon le dérapage se révélera avec le passage du café.

Écrit avec les débutants à l’esprit, il est facilement compris par tout le monde de tout âge.

La structure du bois est une juxtaposition de fibres plus ou moins solidaires. L'idée est de couper les fibres en les plaquant sur le bois et non en les soulevant. Comme je l'avais promis, je vous montre comment je m'y prend sans couteau croche. Nous n’utilisons que très peu le béton, qui est un mélange de ciment, sable et gravier. Nous n’utilisons que des mortiers, mélange de sable de différente granulométrie du 0 au 5 mm. Le ciment quand à lui est un mélange d’argile et de calcaire monté haute température et broyé, il sert de liant entre les agrégats. Il faut chercher à être dans le fil ou en travers fil. Je trouve intéressant, de proposer des sujet à thème pour les stages de sculpture sur bois, autant pour vous que pour moi.
