Assistant or sth: uh... Dr. Sinclair? I think you forgot to put the patient to sleep...

Cecil, very much aware of the screams of his patient: Oh, did I?

Meet Cecil!

He's a surgeon, specialized in amputations, prosthetics and human augmentation. Some of which he also uses on himself. Working at a secret facility, that dedicated itself to make sure humanity's save from dangerous anomalies.

Despite this, Cecil isn't quite human... nor harmless. He would never let one of his patients die, but he enjoys seeing them suffering. He's quite unemotional and cold towards his colleges and patients, but this also makes it easier for him to stay calm and work with absolute precision, even under stress. When it comes to problem solving or making decisions, he's always very logical and methodical, not caring too much about what others might feel as a result.

Also: he likes to make podcasts in his free time :)

Not sure if I talked about this concept before or not, so here goes nothing:

If you have a bunch of different character ideas but you struggle to flesh them out or you're not quite sure what to do with them, try using a tactic I call "frankensteining".

Just like Frankenstein put together a living being by using different parts of corpses, you can try to put together an Oc using different character ideas. They probably won't fit together at all at the beginning, but that's ok. Just keep going.

And once you're done, what you're left with is a pretty interesting character concept. Now comes the hard part: Try to connect all of those different ideas. During this process, I'm sure you'll find ways to do so, no matter how far fetched thoae connections might be. Why? Because you're basically forcing yourself to think outside the box and your comfort zone.

Those connections don't have to be perfect, just consistent. And if you get to that point, you only have one step left: Work out the details. How can you adjust your basic character ideas in a way that makes them work together better, while keeping the original spirit of them? How could that character fit into the greater scheme of things? You get the idea.

From then one, you can continuously work on this Ocs, just like you would with any other. Put them into different scenarios and stories and think about how they'd react to them, in order to make them even more complex and 3 dimensional.

Dear moon pie, shining bright,

My brain: So what if we tried to make a god like DnD Oc? Who's pretty op on purpose?

Me: ... actually, that's not a bad idea.

And that's how Lilith, an aasimar mystic, was created.

I really wanted to go with the "some kind of all powerful, angelic creature"-vibe this time. Getting a bit out of my comfort zone by getting into the "forgotten" mystic class.

I really like to imagine Lilith as a cult leader, who believes that being able to use psionic abilities is the next step of evolution or something like that.

I finally stopped procrastinating and drew a picture of the first NPC my players encountered in the DnD campain I'm DMing!

His name's Galien. Being a bartender of a tavern called "The Golden Drop", he's met quite many travelers before... None of which were as chaotic as the last ones he encountered though.

It all started on a stormy, autumn evening. The small tavern was quite full, with some of the guests playing gambling games. So far nothing unusual.

The aladrin bard Galien hired to play music came, thankfully. But... he'd proceed to spend the next hour or so trying to come up with something entertaining while getting constantly distracted, before actually performing.

Thankfully though an old friend of Galien, a tiefling, was there to keep him from getting too frustrated with the bard. Keeping Galien company, as he slowly worked his way into the night, tired as always.

There was another figure, minding her own business: a dragonborn who seemed to get in lot of fights, considering the blind eye and scars all over her skin.

Not to mention the elf who kept staring at an old, antique clock. Being absolutely focused on it, as time slowly ticked away.

The weirdest guest, however, must have been the out of place looking human. He seemed to have come out of nowhere, constantly writing something in his little book. A traveler from far far away, as far as Galien was aware.

But as soon as soon as another human, soaking wet from the rain, entered the bar, it all started to go down rather quick...

Literally... considering that Galien ended up at the bottom of a staircase, by being hit with a guitar at the top and then falling down every single step... At least he got a single golden coin from the elf as an apology for the chaos they caused before...

I absolutely loved our first session together. Admittedly, it was chaotic af, but that's the most fun thing about DnD. It's absolutely awesome to see that my players enjoy the world and story I've created so far and it's amazing how much thought and effort they put into creating fanart, animations and even tarot cards. Huge shout-out to @cheesekai and especially @sarah-kings! (Would have loved to tag the other players as well, but they don't have Tumblr, as far as I'm aware).

Also: I'm unsure about what hair, skin and eye color Galien should have, so for now I just went with a "neutral" one.

I've waited 4 fucking years for this, but finally...

Hazbin Hotel is back! And this time with an entire show :)

I absolutely love the story so far, as well as the dynamic between the characters. ESPECIALLY the rivalry between Vox and Alastor - I NEED more of that. Their duet "Stayed Gone" in the second episode? Absolute banger! It is giving me sooo many Disney villain vibes. And the other songs? They're amazing as well! I'm surprised how much I loved the duet between Charlie and Adam, "Hell is forever", from the first episode. Not to mention "Poison" from the fourth episode.

Whoever is responsible for the music of Hazbin Hotel (and Helluva Boss) is doing an incredible job. I think that's my favorite part of the show so far.

Though... I have to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of Charlie's songs so far. And I still have to get used to the new voice actors.
