People who insult me because of my opinions will be blocked very quickly. Just block me, don't waste your time, I don't want to argue with you.
I also know that some of my opinions are very popular in different corners of the fandom. But they're still unpopular in other parts of the fandom, so it counts.
EDIT: "didn't teach"

This Is my rendition of The Narrator [My nick-name for him is Nul1 (Nuhl-one) ] from one of my favorite games The Stanley Parable.
His face and body-type are based off of an old unused super villain OC of mine, named Avii.
his outfit is is inspired from 60-80s type disco attire, with a splash of inspiration from The Adventure Line(tm).
His sharp look comes from his personality leaning towards a light-hearted artist just trying to get a simple office man to understand his work, to a commanding boss who won't let his employees mess around.
This reference took forever to make, but i hope it paints a better view.
Feel free to draw them if you wish to! :D!!

Can you recall a scene that shows tickling as a form of interrogation from your favorite cartoon / show growing up?
Seeing our brave heroine fall into the hands of the smug villain and completely powerless to stopping their evil plot felt so rare and unfamiliar.
That feeling of unease went through the roof when it finally began and we got to learn about the true depravity of the big bad villain's game of interrogation: tickling😳
Listening to the pathetic whimpers and hysterical laughter gushing out of the all mighty protagonists that we've grown so used to rooting for almost felt hard to watch. The silly background music and sound effects only added to their humiliation as our heros are pitilessly tickled.
"Tell us where your friends are or the tickling continues"
"No? Alright you're asking for it."
The taunting demands from the villains stood in stark contrast to the protagonists' misery, and went to show that they now hold all the cards. But then the companions of the main characters would always come to their rescue just in the nick of time, because the power of friendship and love always prevails! yay!
...
But what if no one came to their aid?
How much more could they take before they crack?
What would become of our helpless heroine at the end of the wicked little game of tickle torture?
This curiosity set me on a path to where I am today (referring to 'that' episode of digimon frontier lol).

when i was a kid i only played with the pets of the dolls i got. like barbie's dog or polly pocket's cats. my favorites were little les pet shops. i remember it very clearly i created a secret agency in my room and id put them in a circle and delegate missions like i was nick fury and they were little super spies. the missions involved spying on mom or rescuing a toy or fighting a villain (usually the toys i liked less) but sometimes they'd be things like helping me go to a doctor or keeping me safe at school so id sneak them outside the house to "help" me do mundane things that scared me. i just unlocked this memory and im not sure what it says about me but i think it's cute

Hi there, just found your "just cake" fic and I am interested in how it continues.
What i'm saying is, please continue this fic, villainxhenchman is now one of my favorite writeblr tags.
-@the-agency-archives
Hi! I'm glad you liked part 1. Now get ready for...
...
Just Cake #2
The commonly known thing about old-fashioned traps was that when they failed to trap you, you got to tease the creator of it relentlessly. A net, seriously? People have tried before, sweetheart. Better luck next time.
The inconvenient thing about old-fashioned traps was that when done properly, they did their job damn well. It was exceptionally embarrassing to get caught in one. You should have seen that coming. Alas, you didn’t. Fool.
The henchman had tried pushing the villain out of the way once they noticed the trap. So now they were both caught. The villain hovered over them in the really quite cramped space of the net. Wasn’t that wonderful?
The villain gave the net a testing jerk. It didn’t do them any good.
“Who the fuck even uses nets these days?” the villain hissed.
“It does seem we’re quite literally trapped, boss.”
“No, we’re fuckin– not–” the villain tugged on the net violently– “UNSTUCK YOURSELF!”
“That’s not how traps work, boss.”
It was a definitely never to be mentioned ever again kind of situation, really.
The villain settled into a relative silence. They clawed at the net with one of their blades while growling and cursing occasionally. They tended to be silent most of the time, but the henchman knew very well just how varied their cursing vocabulary was.
They were sure the villain had far exceeded their word limit for the day. Their voice was furious. Cutting.
But not cutting enough to slice through the ropes.
Henchman smiled at their internal commentary; glad they didn’t blurt it out like they so often managed.
There was nothing better to do, and so they watched the villain struggle. They hung really quite skillfully above the henchman, somehow not falling down on top of them. Not that the henchman would especially mind. It was quite cold out there.
They briefly wondered who would even set up a trap that far out in the woods. The obvious answer was someone who lived around. Secret hideouts and all that jazz.
The thing which bothered them the most however was that whoever set the trap up was skilled. Skilled enough to have them both trapped. The villain especially was not easily trapped. Once that whoever came around, they would still be stuck and practically at their mercy. The henchman doubted there would be mercy to be found.
The net moved under the villain’s persistent attempts.
Cold air breezed past. The henchman came to the conclusion that someone showing up was better than freezing to death.
The villain’s yell startled them out of their thoughts.
“SCREW THAT!”
“Screw me,” please.
The villain obviously stopped themself from cursing again, turning to look at the henchman. “Hm?” they said, which henchman translated as ‘you’ve said something?’
“Nothing.”  Here we go again. Saying stuff.
The villain measured the few nicks they managed to inconvenience the rope with. They huffed an exhale. “That’s not going to work, is it?”
“I’d presume we won’t be able to get out of a net specifically made to capture and hold magical things, boss.”
The villain huffed another exhale. They hid their knife. Then they looked down at the henchman, slumping slightly.
“Do you suppose I could sort of hm… flop down on you? Really uncomfortable up here.”
“Conserve your energy.”
The villain slumped on top of them.
The net was quite uncomfortable under their back even before, but with the added weight, it reached a whole new stage of discomfort. There was nothing the henchman could do about that. Except for maybe miraculously breaking them both out of the trap and acting like it never happened. A minion could dream.
“You’re warm,” the villain said.
“Huh.” The henchman didn’t really manage to figure out a better reaction. They felt too warm entirely, just about bellow the boiling point. It definitely had nothing to do with their proximity. Nope. Not at all.
They both stayed perfectly still.
The henchman considered shuffling, but they had a feeling it would be even more uncomfortable than before.
“Do you regret anything?”
The villain seemed to mumble that mostly to themself, but given the whole situation, the henchman caught it anyway.
“Don’t think about dying yet, boss. We’ll have plenty of chances to make it out.”
The villain hummed, unconvinced.
The henchman hardly convinced themself, so it was no surprise. They decided to answer the villain’s question at least. Death loomed over them with the deft finality of a trap shutting down with chilling-to-the-bones precision. Just like it did.
Nothing to lose but the vague concept of dignity, huh?
“I regret ruining your birthday cake.”
The villain was perfectly still for a moment. Then they lifted themself to look the henchman in the eyes. “My what?”
“Well… you see, the thing that splattered on your doorstep… on your birthday day?”
The villain blinked.
The henchman looked away. It was such an awkward thing, wasn’t it? Of all the things they could have chosen… then again. You make someone cake and then you drop it like a clumsy tool. The sole act of baking the villain cake was borderline ridiculous and entirely unprofessional, too.
“You know when my birthday is?”
“You mentioned you were born on Vampire Day once, in relation to the Candle Parade, so that’s a day after the autumn equinox, so… That’s that.”
The villain hummed quietly, thinking. They rested back down.
The henchman held perfectly still, as if that could somehow remove all of their embarrassment. They measured their breathing, for all it was worth. They had a feeling the villain could sense how uncomfortable they were anyway, but hopefully played it on the whole stuck-in-a-net situation.
“Nobody’s ever given me birthday cake before.”
“Oh, really?” The henchman tried to see the villain’s face. It was a whole new of an uncomfortable movement, so they stopped.
“You’re the first.”
“But I’ve…” Ruined it. Splattered it. Fucked up spectacularly. “…dropped it.”
“Worse things happen,” the villain said. “I appreciate the effort.”
“I didn’t even wish you… anything.” It had been a busy day. The henchman forgot about the villain’s birthday, except for all of the inconvenient times when they really couldn’t say their thing. Like in the middle of a fight, when they were in the bathroom, or when the villain finally fell asleep and the henchman didn’t want to wake them up.
Might as well fix that now. “Happy belated birthday.”
“Hm. Thank you.”
It made the henchman very comfortably warm. Convenient for the villain, they supposed, since they were being used as a personal heater at the moment.
“What’s your regret?”
“Hm?” The villain sounded almost startled.
“Your regret.” Henchman tried to adjust their head to get at least a little bit more comfortable. It only got worse. They rested back to the way they were. “You know my regret. I want to know yours.”
It took the villain a long time to make a sound again. The henchman thought perhaps they crossed the professional line too far, stepped just beyond the acceptable. They prepared their sorry, I shouldn’t have asked that but the villain spoke first.
“I suppose that’s fair.”
They are very fidgety all of a sudden. But at least they sounded like the henchman’s head might stay on their neck.
“So.” The villain cleared their throat. They searched for words and seemed to come out short.
“You don’t have to tell me if you’d prefer not to.”
“No, I’m…” The villain inhaled deeply. In a wave of composure, they spoke at once: “Actually, it partly involves you—I mean, it entirely involves you—and the thing is that you, sincerely–”
The villain’s attention shifted.
The henchman felt the silence settle over them. The last words were like stones falling into the lake, vanishing to leave but circles running on the surface.
In the silence, the henchman finally registered the someone moving closer.
The villain shifted in an attempt of a defence position despite the power-suppressing net and the inconveniently squished henchman underneath them. They bared their teeth in a snarl.
“Look who we’ve caught,” an entirely too sweet voice said. “Well, aren’t you two adorable?”

Unpopular Phase 4 & 5 Opinions
Quantumania is the worst Phase 4/5 movie. And it wasn’t even because “kang got beat by ants.” (I liked kang in this movie). It’s just that the Spy Kids aesthetic & bad acting & overall weird vibes just weren’t for me.
Love and Thunder is no worse than Ragnarok. I would argue that it’s better in a lot of ways, actually. I really liked it.
Taika Waititi ruined thor with bad humour all the way back in Ragnarok tbh, but y’all weren’t complaining about it then 😒.
BuckySarah is better than sambucky every day of the week.
The Marvels was a good ass movie & they’re one of my favorite teams in the mcu. I’ll never forgive cbm sites & online dudebros for killing the hype from the moment the film was announced.
I adore America Chavez & Kamala Kahn and I want to see them in everything. They must be protected at all costs.
Multiverse of Madness had shitty characterisation & basically just copy-pasted the ‘grief made me go off the deep end & hurt people, then I realised and stopped myself’ storyline from Wandavision… but Wanda was extremely selfish & apathetic to other people’s suffering from the time she was introduced in the mcu. MoM didn’t make her like that.
Wanda should’ve been looking for Vision (her actual real life boyfriend whom she spent years with irl) in MoM instead of the kids that weren’t even real that she spent like a week using as characters in her sitcom.
Making everyone forget Peter Parker wasn’t profound or poetic in any way- it was just frustrating and needlessly cruel.
I’m begging marvel to understand that heroes don’t have to be in constant suffering to be heroic & villains don’t have to sacrifice themselves to achieve redemption. Let characters heal and atone, you absolute weirdos.
What If…? is the most boring show ever. I’d rather watch Secret Invasion or She-Hulk.
Season 2 of Loki is, in a cinematic & artistic sense, the best marvel project period.
Loki season 1 was meh- more of a fun au than anything because his characterisation kinda sucked. Season 2 fixed it, though, and made it way easier for me to incorporate this version of Loki back into the larger mcu.
Having Steve stay in the past with Peggy was stupid af.
I don’t hate Peggy (or Captain Carter), though. I actually think she’s pretty cool.
I don’t really love Steve. He’s arrogant & they never really let him have flaws & something about him being a perfect metaphor for the American military industrial complex (and marvel painting that as a good thing) doesn’t sit right with me.
The Illuminati got done dirty and the only reason they went down so fast was because Wanda had all that plot armor.
I thought the retcon of having Wanda be “destined” to become the Scarlet Witch since birth was an annoying cop-out. Her powers originating from being experimented on with an infinity stone was way more interesting.
Loki & Wanda have almost the exact same powers.
Nebula deserved a bigger rule in killing Thanos & everything else moving forward.
I love Kathryn Newton but her acting as Cassie Lang was the worst acting I’ve ever seen in the mcu, like it was outrageously bad.
I’m glad Sam is the new Captain America and not Bucky.
The fact that Bucky probably isn’t gonna be one of Thee lead characters in the upcoming avengers movies feels sick and twisted.
Secret Invasion was actually passable until the G’iah scene at the end. That ruined it. And Nick Fury deserved way better for his solo series.
Kang is so much more interesting than Doctor Doom. I really hope they just recast him.
Carol Danvers does NOT deserve the hate she gets.
I actually disliked Carol until The Marvels. That movie made me a stan.
The way people treat Monica as Wanda’s little inferior pet creation or smth & then brag about it is uhh very sus.
I don’t like sylvie (bc she’s an amalgamation of 3 different comic characters- which killed any hopes of them appearing individually in the mcu, the creators used her existence to butcher Loki’s genderfluid rep, & she was written poorly) & I HATE sylki (bc it’s weird & unnecessary).
Marvel isn’t dead. I actually love where they’re taking things. But that’s just me.

I think 'Jason Todd is a female fantasy' is very true but i haven't spoken on it 'til now because people always getting it wrong and straight up lie to boot.1.Jason has never been intended as appealing primarily to female fans within canon and no,Nick Nobles pinups don't count. The INTENTION with him is an edgy as all milfs of fuck vigilante and cut out og Rhato and he does a pretty good job at that and 2.He's also never been a horndog,a vice indulger, smooth as fuck, the perfect sensitive gentleman,an all powerful bamf or a fuckin' sugar daddy
Jason's a female fantasy-to me at least-because he's a goth punk asshole with anger issues and a physical inability to not run his mouth that're not him being a douchebag for no reason but a trauma response that's usually taken to a fair extent attitude wise instead of abuse,is a REAL ex-villain with a REAL redemption arc, respects women and disrepects men,is a classical literature and theater nerd and a non-pretentious gamer, has a complex relathionship to intimacy and vulnerability, cares about and is good to kids(even if not to extent the fandom thinks he does),used to be soft uwu sunshine boy who understood justice better than a lot of adults as a kid before he was murdered and ressurected, his canon favorite food NEAPOLITAN?????FUCKIN' DORK ASS LMAO,refuses to be rich again on principal after growing up poor, isn't a pissbaby about feminine shit AND his canon type is weirdgirls and the opposite of it for him is perfect preppy judgemental girls who want to fix him
Add an official autism diagnosis, trans man status and afrolatino heritage and he's literally the perfect man.I would add on that he's 6' and jacked(buff with some realistic fat)but my DC self-insert is a half kryptonian 7' babe who's even more built than him so i think you know where my intentions lie /lh

https://www.tumblr.com/mostly-mundane-atla/710894569738387456/this-sounds-pretty-accurate-but-there-is-another what do u think ??
Okay, here are the bits I agree with:
1 - Some Azula fans are trying way too damn hard to make her a "Girlboss" that never did anything wrong. This is legitimatelly something I have seen happen A LOT lately and it gets on my nerves SO BAD.
2 - Some Azula fans focus a just a little bit too much on the sad aspects of her character/story, mainly her loneliness and how she felt nobody loved her (Note: I'm being generous here because most of the time people bring that to remind me people that, no, just because she was the favorite child of an ABUSIVE parent it doesn't mean that her life was easy, but I HAVE seen the "character sad, therefore character good" a few times).
The stuff that I don't agree with it AT ALL:
1 - "Cersei Lannister is a character that is like Azula." No. Just no. I know the fandom likes to joke about some simmilarities between both shows or borrow elements from that story to our fanfics, but Avatar is not Game Of Thrones, and Azula is not Cersei. Their personalities are not that simmilar, nor their family situations. Cersei is far more reckless, blood thirsty, downright vile ADULT WOMAN, she never got a single shred of respect from her father or ANYONE, and her main way of manipulating people is to go the Femme Fatale route and seduce them. Not at all like the pragmatic (but not sadistic), prodigious, awkward princess that can't flirt to save her life and that everyone respects/fears. Even the whole "When you play the Game Of Thrones, you win or you die" doesn't really apply because Cersei sacrificed nearly everything to remain the queen, while Azula literally brought Zuko back home, making him the heir to the throne again. They. Are. Not. The. Same. (I won't get into the other characters mentioned because I don't know who they are)
2 - "Azula isn't that well written" Unless we're considering the comics, in which EVERYONE was poorly written, I'm gonna die on the hill that this is just wrong. Azula was not redeemed, yes, and Bryke seems to not understand her, but the way her story and arc went in the show makes perfect logical sense to me - I just don't think that's where or how it should end. We can argue over whether her story is finished, not on if she's well-written character and a deliberately sympathetic villain that was also REALLY good at being a villain.
3 - "Azula doesn't have a lot going on" Bullshit. Regardless of redemption or not, Azula IS a complex character - yes, even if she is the villain of a Nickelodeon cartoon (WEIRD argument to claim she can't be that deep - this is literally a show about war, genocide and abusive families, which is why it stood out to people because NOBODY expected Nick to go there). We literally see her having a mental breakdown after years of abuse, indoctrination and VERY bad decisions that ruined every relationship she had finally caught up with her. I consider this a lot, just like I consider things like waking up one day and finding out EVERYONE you knew and loved has been gone for a hundred years or dealing with the fact your father is an abusive piece of shit that is totally okay with disfiguring and banishing you because you dared to speak out of turn. For fuck's sake, the existence of The Beach as an episode proves this claim wrong because the whole point of that episode is "These villainous Fire Nation teens have some hidden depths."
4 - "There are better stories with better/more complex characters" Again, weird argument. I think Beauty And The Beast is the best Disney movie and that Mulan is the best disney princess, but I still adore Snow White despite her story being VERY simple. And even though I like these stories that all have endings, I like the dark fantasy and heavy on politics story of Game Of Thrones - and even though I think the books are better, I still like the first half of the show despite the changes made to the story. This is not a "Either this or that" situation. You can think something isn't perfect or deep and STILL like it.
5 - "She's not a real person, she's a character on a show therefore her not needing to 'deserve' redemption is irrevelant because what matters is what benefits the story and Azula's redemption wouldn't do that" Really? You're pulling that shit? In a show like ATLA? The show that said "Everyone is capable of great good and great evil"? The show that repeatedly says "Friendship and kindness are going to save the day?"? The show that had one of the bad guys redeem himself by befriending the good guys and visiting his abusive father in jail and saying "Maybe this will make you have a change of heart?" THIS show would not benefit or stay consistent to it's themes if the villain that desperately craves love and validation learned that the way she tried to get these things was wrong and started being a better person who'd eventually be healthy, loved and accepted? Give me a break.

Moscow is a beautiful city in an even more beautiful country. Or at least it was during the summer. It wasn’t as if beauty left the land during the winter, it was just that the cold bit through your skin and into your bones like the teeth of a starving wolf. You really shouldn't be here. You were convinced it was a mishap on behalf of management that you were delegated as a candidate for the task.
You never felt comfortable doing international work; it always made you feel out of place—like you didn’t belong.
Even now, people were suspicious of you. You look like the foreigner that you are; dark skin, with even darker hair and eyes—obviously textured hair. They were all features that made you stand out in a country this far north. You’d been here for three weeks, attending multiple back-and-forth meetings, trying to help as much as possible. Even pharmaceutical companies as small as the one you worked for weren't always known for being scrupulous, so whatever went on in them was beyond you. Your job was to search up and provide information as needed for the active liaison between your company and the Russians.
If it wasn’t for Anna, the woman who acted as the go-between for the other side, you’d be completely at a loss of what to do. She’d been helpful and friendly from the start, and you’d become accustomed to the sight of her smiling grey eyes and the eye-catching gleam of her sandy hair as she walked you to and from places in the building. With her help, you’d assimilated smoothly.
You’re hesitant to call her a friend, but she is the closest thing you had to one in this place. None of your usual co-workers had been asked to attend this trip.
When the Unity Day bombings happened, you were still in a hotel room. The scenes playing out on the TV were horrifying, even without English captions to translate. The attack was said to have been carried out by some sort of radical American terrorist group. However, the fact that Nicholas Fury’s face kept flashing across the screen as a person of interest was all it took to make your mind race with unanswered questions. It had been a long time since you’d seen Nick Fury; nearly a decade.
Why was he here?

idk if you did this before but ummm rank all qotsa albums including them crooked vultures
I'll do you one better! I'll include the desert sessions 11+12 cus imo it's too thoroughly produced to not include
10. lullabies to paralyze
no hate on lullabies but honestly the whole vibe of the record is just sooooo 2005. in my head has to be their worst song just because of how embarassing that chorus is and also there's just a lot of fluff, even the deep cuts on this album feel like throwaway tracks (which I would even say about my favorite songs on the album, tangled up in plaid and broken box). the whole album just feels like a radio-friendly attempt to prove they still had their edge after Nick was kicked out
favorite songs: tangled up in plaid, little sister, i never came, the blood is love, broken box
9. villains
villains gets too much hate. people always point to Mark Ronson for ruining the album but honestly I'm glad we live in the alternate timeline where qotsa made a pop album. the way you used to do is awesome (ESPECIALLY the live version), domesticated animals is awesome, un-reborn again is one of their best songs. hideaway has always sucked tho and I hate the ending of the evil has landed because it just sounds like they were trying to do 3s and 7s again for some reason (with the slide guitars and Josh going "way-ee-ay") but otherwise also one of their best songs. also I wanna mention that Jon Theodore is at his best on this album, you can really hear his background in prog shine through on certain songs
favorite songs: the way you used to do, domesticated animals, fortress, un-reborn again, the evil has landed
8. desert sessions 11+12
first and foremost noses in roses forever is one of the best songs jho has ever written. DS11/12 basically feels like josh decided he wanted to do his own Gorillaz style collaborative project thanks to the increased production values and honestly it just makes me want another desert sessions release just like it.... which contradicts the other thing I wanted to say which is that there's really no album that sounds like 11/12 out there. nowhere else will you hear a song like chic tweetz because any other album would’ve left it on the cutting room floor for being too stupid. i love it
also I wanna say that i think crucifire is for royal blood what ultralight beam was for chance the rapper lmao
favorite songs: noses in roses forever, chic tweetz, easier said than done
7. in times new roman
damn I'm surprised the recency bias isn't getting to me on this one lmao. ITNR has a lot of really good songs on it but put together into an album it really feels like they’re just treading old ground. (I was originally gonna write a review of it when it came out titled “new dog, old tricks”). despite this there’s a lot of great stuff, paper machete and emotion sickness are two of my fav qotsa songs and straight jacket fitting might be their best closer? idk. this would be higher if it didn’t just feel like a “more of the same” type album
favorite songs: paper machete, negative space, made to parade, emotion sickness
6. self-titled
this placement hurts so much because like a year and a half ago this wouldve been #2 😭 anyway i love the self titled so much because it sounds so different from the rest of their discography… you can hear alot of the leftover kyuss influence in the heavier songs and riff writing, plus what other album is gonna try some crazy shit like walkin on the sidewalks or hispanic impressions? (btw hispanic impressions is their most underrated song) also the expanded edition is better for having spiders and vinegaroons but worse for having droids
favorite songs: regular john, avon, how to handle a rope, hispanic impressions, you can’t quit me baby
5. songs for the deaf
i’ve always had beef with songs for the deaf…. i’ve always felt like the best songs on it are so good that they make the lesser songs seem worse in comparison. like another love song is great but when it’s sandwiched between god is in the radio and song for the deaf its like. well obviously this is one of the weaker songs on the album. anyway it’s still good, being the other nick-era qotsa album you can really hear the collaboration between the band’s all-star lineup across the whole thing
favorite songs: hanging tree, go with the flow, god is in the radio, song for the deaf, mosquito song
4. them crooked vultures
TCV is just a really, really solid album. the sequencing is great, the songs are all great, the musicians are all at their A game, ESPECIALLY josh as it’s not an unpopular opinion to say this album is where he really started tapping into his skills as a vocalist. while i consider TCV to be the honorary bonus qotsa album, i feel like it also manages to stand on its own thanks to the creative contributions of dave grohl and john paul jones.
favorite songs: mind eraser no chaser, dead end friends, bandoliers, warsaw, spinning in daffodils
3.5. over the years and through the woods
maybe I'm biased cus qotsa brainworms but the dvd of this is the best concert film/album I've ever heard. there's a perfect balance between songs being played as they are on the record and songs having things tweaked or even reworked entirely, which is something i’m picky about when it comes to concerts (i saw jack white two years ago and he changed waaaaay too many songs :P) also there’s a lot of neat little bonus things in the set, like an early version of make it wit chu, another desert sessions track (covered in punk’s blood) and of course the live performance of fun machine which is a top 3 song for them and always will be
favorite songs: feel good hit of the summer, avon, little sister, you can’t quit me baby, the fun machine took a shit and died
3. rated R
rated R is a perfect album! i think its greatest strength is its sequencing tbh, it succeeds at both giving the impression of it being a concept album (while not necessarily conforming to the concept) as well as having a super diverse tracklist where no two songs sound alike. also characteristic of nick-era qotsa, i love how rated R isn’t afraid to have short songs or long songs, though unlike on songs for the deaf the short/long songs here feel like they don’t sacrifice length for substance relative to other songs.
favorite songs: feel good hit of the summer, leg of lamb, auto pilot, better living through chemistry, i think i lost my headache
2. era vulgaris
there is no album that sounds like era vulgaris. why does misfit love sound like that? why does battery acid sound like that? WHY DOES I’M DESIGNER SOUND LIKE THAT??? it’s so fucking weird and rich with ideas, there isn’t a single moment on era vulgaris where the band isn’t trying something new. even my least favorite songs on here have something new and unique to offer while also being the most fucked up little beast creature thing youve ever heard.
favorite songs: turnin on the screw, i’m designer, into the hollow, 3’s and 7’s, run pig run
1. ...like clockwork
i’m an artsy kid, i like artsy albums, and i love like clockwork for how mature it is. every song feels like a statement, an emotion concentrated into a 4-minute masterpiece. while the lows on here are lower for me than on other albums, they still make important contributions to the album experience as a whole (not to mention the highs soar, i appear missing and fairweather friends are top 5 material for them. I appear missing might even be top 1 tbh.) i’m out of things to say so uhhh yeah like clockwork is my favorite :)
favorite songs: i sat by the ocean, the vampyre of time and memory, fairweather friends, i appear missing

ask game: apocalypse world michael
so this is maybe my favorite ask i've gotten so far because the au michael storyline is kind of nothing right? everyone basically agrees about this and no one really likes it including me.
but also there is... something there. if you think about it. like first of all before anything else: that storyline produced two of my favorite episodes of the show, nihilism and ouroboros.
but also i recently rewatched s14 and like. upon my initial watch i really disliked s14. but on rewatch i enjoyed it a LOT more. that's partly i think because i was quite literally straight up skipping scenes with nick in them, which really improved the viewing experience, but also... the problem with au michael is that he's dumb and boring for the first half of the season, and then he just... fizzles. so you kinda feel like you've been cheated out of a potentially interesting season villain. but like once you know he's gonna do that... then you can appreciate the good stuff.
i don't think there's anything interesting going on with au michael as a character or as a villain, really, but i do think that 1) the sam, cas, and jack stuff in the first few episodes is fun and interesting. one of my favorite cas and jack scenes is when jack is like we're gonna have to kill him and cas is like nooooo............. #familydynamics.
but then the bigger thing i like is the part where it "fizzles." and like, if you're looking for the au michael plot to fulfill what was promised then yeah, it does fizzle. but if you're thinking of it all as a leadup to ouroboros... then it's actually really interesting and satisfying. those five episodes, nihilism through ouroboros, give some like interesting, tense, fun family dynamic character study time. if au michael is just a lead in to the jack plot, then he's a worthy lead in. if au michael is just the bogeyman in dean's head, then he's a great bogeyman! like the dean stuff in those episodes is AWESOME. nihilism and ouroboros of course but also damaged goods and even lebanon. what can i say i like when dean hes a closet in his brain strong enough to hold an archangel.
also michael!rowena was the hottest rowena's ever been on the show. sorry.
