The Hunter's Daughter - Chapter 3 (on Wattpad) **NOTE: Hoping to update Bi-weekly if my other projects allow for that** Dezzery Stormwood Von Houten was named from being found in the woods after a storm by her adopted father, the "Wolf of the Wood" and best hunter in their small village, and the single note found in her dress pocket when she was found. Due to her strange appearance of having violet eyes and a lock of white hair in her black tresses, she is a common topic for whispered rumors in her superstitious village of Waldstadt despite the respected reputation of her adopted parents. When out hunting, something strange happens to Dezzery: a dancing flame of darkness appears before her. Progressively, other odd things start happening in her quiet village. One thing leads to another until the people of Waldstadt decide they need help from the outside before they risk being wiped from the map by the strange curse they speculate to be placed upon their village. A group of volunteers is formed to go find help from one of the larger towns outside of The Oakenward Wood. Seeing it as a chance to prove her worth, Dezzery steps up to join. Away from the only place she's ever know, the young huntress ends up in more trouble than she signed up for as she learns to survive in unfamiliar surroundings and uncovers the secrets of her origin on her quest to save her village.

QOTD: How are you all? And what's the most exciting book you read this month? I have been keeping away for a long time, not engaging, neither posting, just lost enough to breathe somewhere. But now, like this time I finally think I am back. 🤕 And hope to stay like this. In the meantime I read a few books, reviews of which will be coming supper soon. And to kick start, I will talk about the book I recently read and loved, a lot by @crimsonwisps_22 ~BOOK REVIEW~ 29 chapters, diving straight into the realm of fantasy, thrill and fun, the book Devouring Divine by the author Shrinivas Gaikwad, is all you need to read this weekend. The story is about a fight between right and wrong, good and evil, the Daemons and the humans. In the Kingdom of Manve, the fight takes place for the truth, the powerful and the righteous. The plot moves ahead with Kaori, Nihal and Raven as the main characters, they strive for their aims to be fulfilled. Nihal is the character I enjoyed the most, the character changes in him resemble so much of the real human's behaviours. The introduction of the religion, Demistry which is followed by the kingdom's people, is symbolic of the real world and how these humans use it for their own purposes. The author has made sure to use many themes, symbols, and allegories right from the surrounding, which makes this book more interesting and worth reading. I read it in two sitting and literally loved the way how things are narrated. The characters are well defined and each one plays a role, I also enjoyed Kaori's presence in the story. We also have a map in the beginning, which helps us understand the kingdom. There are letters and at times when we move to and fro in time. Overall, its an astounding read for all the fantasy lovers. They must learn to trust each other to survive...because doom is coming." This book marks a departure from the Action/Thriller that Rollins has typically written. His books have often had a fantasy element but this book is full on fantasy. Often in a new fantasy story, an author will spend a lot of time with "World Building" but Rollins makes it easy on the reader. The descriptions and names don't slow down the story. Your pulled into the characters and pulling for the good guys and yelling at the bad guys. The bronze woman is fantastic. The action sequences are fantastic - giant bats - wind ships - lots of explosions. There are some loose ends but Rollins resolves the story enough to give the reader satisfaction. Very fast read for a long book. Great beginning to this new series from Rollins.
