Whilst listening to the Gideon audiobook for the thousandth time I realized the bit about Gideon drinking the hot tea during what is essentially a meeting:
“She choked discreetly.” The reverend daughter gave her a look that withered the bowels”.
Is quite similar to John eating peanuts in a meeting,
“I ate peanuts the once, discreetly”, which we know was met with Mercymorn subsequently desiring to bathe him in acid for 1000 years.
And I find this just very splendid, that is all.

"reina realized the sound in her head, the scream, was her own. Anger or anguish, misery or mourning, all of the above. She felt the softness of earth beneath her hands and realized she was kneeling prostrate, channeling her pain into the sympathy of sodden ground. She felt something lashing gently over her forearms, slithering out from her pals. Like vines; like threads of consequence." and/or "Yes, Callum thought, I understand it now, Tristan, the meaning of life, it all makes sense. We are given exactly as much time as we need to be a human as we are, and that's it. That's the entirety of the magic. We're not gods, or maybe you are, or Reina is, but I'm not a god, Tristan, I'm just very sad and stupid! I have been looking for inspiration and it turns out I'm not inspired, I'm lazy! I only want to hold your hand! I don't wan't to rule the world, I don't want to control it, I don't even want to influrence it. I want to sit beside you in a little garden, I want to put your needs before mine, I want to laugh at your jokes, even the bad ones, and bury my head in proverbial sands." and/or “This was it, the chronic condition—the only meaning Parisa had left in life. It wasn’t a secret society, it wasn’t an ancient library, it wasn’t an experiment that had taken two decades to design, it was waking up every fucking morning and deciding to keep going. The tiny, unceremonious, incomparable miracle of making it through another goddamn day. The knowledge that life was mean and it was exacting. It was cruel and it was cursed; it was recalcitrant and precious. It was always ending. But it did not have to be earned.”
second piece from my review of @olivieblake 's the atlas series. I love these characters so deeply, and these three in particular, in their twisted discoveries of their personnal philosophies, and what ever can let them survive, was inspiring to read, and meant a lot to me. all three piece's speedpaints are up on my youtube channel!:)

Omg Tor blazed a post advocating a new book, so it's on my dash, and the whole post is soooo bad. It has the modern book issue of NO WHERE ANYWHERE actually saying what the book is actually about, but it also has this awful quote and multiple pictures of the cover like they know images draw people in but they only have the one I just can't

★ What is the longest book you’ve read? Well, Oathbringer held that spot since 2020, but a couple weeks ago I finally got around to reading Rhythm of War and at 460k words (1232 pages!) it now holds the top spot. I listened to the audiobook and followed along with the physical book, which really is the way to go for me with beastly books like this. The audio is over 57 hours long, but I listened at about 2.25x, and it wasn’t near that daunting. 😅 Also, I loved it—five stars, all around. I feel like @brandsanderson will almost always hold the longest book spot for me … Do you have any long books on your TBR for this year? ★ HASHTAGS // #bookaddict #bibliophile #booklover #booksofig #booksofinstagram #bookpics #torbooks #fantasybooks #brandonsanderson #cosmere #stormlightarchive #rhythmofwar #epicfantasy #adultfantasy #thewayofkings #readfantasy #fantasyreader #fivestarreads #ilikebigbooksandicannotlie #dragonsteelbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/Cnc5Z8myhsv/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

"Eternity stretched before him from the bend of reality that had once been the painted room hearth, and it looked like a lot of things. Like space. Like the night sky from his bedroom window. Like a twinkle half remembered in his mother's eye. Like the shine of a diamond, the halting way he'd made a broken a promise. [..] He saw the many endless doors to his imaginings, he felt fear that tasted like sunrise, he understood what he was born for." doesn't negate that "There was such a thing as too much power. Such a thing as too much knowledge. Atlas Blakely was a speck in the universe, a single grain of sand, but his failure meant a ripple of consequence. The edges of his control stretched out to the precipice of this moment. Only Libby could see it. They weren't gods. Just specks in the universe. This wasn't their door to open."
last piece I made for my review of @olivieblake 's the atlas series. probably my favorite. I love the rendering and the. interconnectedness of the characters!:)

💬 Do you have any spooky books on your TBR this month? 🤎📖 Thank you to @torbooks for adding this book to my spooky TBR! The Witch in the Well is a dark Norwegian thriller from Camilla Bruce, author of You Let Me In. When two former friends reunite after decades apart, their grudges, flawed ambitions, and shared obsession swirl into an all-too-real echo of a terrible town legend. Centuries ago, beautiful young Ilsbeth Clark was accused of witchcraft after several children disappeared. Her acquittal did nothing to stop her fellow townsfolk from drowning her in the well where the missing children were last seen. When author and social media influencer Elena returns to the summer paradise of her youth to get her family's manor house ready to sell, the last thing she expected was connecting with—and feeling inspired to write about—Ilsbeth’s infamous spirit. The very historical figure that her ex-childhood friend, Cathy, has been diligently researching and writing about for years. What begins as a fiercely competitive sense of ownership over Ilsbeth and her story soon turns both women’s worlds into something more haunted and dangerous than they could ever imagine. And thanks to @torbooks I have a great giveaway to share with you! ✨ GIVEAWAY ✨ Enter to win a copy of The Witch in the Well!
