PSA: Don't Look Like a Bot!

Just a reminder to new Tumblr users that we have a spam bot problem here on this lovely hellsite, so if you're a legit acount, make sure you DON'T LOOK LIKE A BOT!

If I and many others here get a new follower with the following:

No profile pic or the pic of an attractive woman

No banner

No title or description or description is very generic (gender, age, etc.)

Most importantly, NO POSTS

we're going to assume you're a bot and report/block your account. I might give you the benefit of the doubt for a couple of days if your Likes are visible and show that you've liked some posts, but if nothing changes (since some bot creators are clever enough to like a few random posts to seem "real"), I'll block you after that grace period.

Also, even if you do have what seems like a legit blog (i.e. you do have a real profile pic, banner, title, and/or description) but you have no posts--even if you have likes--I will still block you after a few days. Tumblr's life blood is based on both content creators and reblogs, and if users don't reblog content regularly, then content creators will get discouraged and may stop, and this site will slowly die. Likes are appreciated, but they don't spread content to a wider audience--this isn't Facebook, and there is no algorithm (since most of us turn that function off). So even if you don't plan to make content of your own, you should be reblogging posts that you like to spread them to your followers--after all, reblogs are how those posts showed up in your feed in the first place.

Seven months later - Rant about Ted Lasso

How is it that I'm the same age as the creators of Ted Lasso (yes, that old) and I've never held a grudge in my life with a real person or fictional entity as long or in any similar way as I hold a grudge over S3 and the ending of this show.

They sucked me in as S1 gave me a false sense of security by not going down the predictable, awkward scenarios and flipped the narrative on time-honoured tropes. I trusted them... and they tricked me.

I am not a TedBecca shipper (but I get them), I saw clues to Nate's personality in S1 (so I wasn't surprised), I knew Jamie would have a prodigal son arc (been there, done that), I even understood why they put Rebecca & Sam together even though I hated it (Age gap: too icky for me, but May-December flings are fine. Employee/Employer power imbalance? No thank you!)

But S3? It went against everything I hoped for in that season. The way they told the story, the individual arcs, the lack of accountability (a theme from earlier in the series), and the finale ... oh, the finale.

Honestly, they kind of lost me in E1S3 due to the way they dealt with Roy & Keeley. As you can tell from my posts, they were my favs. Problem was I waited for SOMETHING every episode that would help them and when nothing happened, I just got deeper and deeper into noticing how LONG the show was or how MESSY the editing was or how BORING or CONVOLUTED or BUNGLED certain arcs were. I noticed it all because from the get-go, E1S3 prepped me for disappointment.

I guess they wanted a certain type of person to be unhappy. That type of person was me...

How do people get over this kind of weird, obsessive disappointment? How do I get rid of this hyperfixation? I'm a full-grown adult. I've handled lots of trauma and tension in my life, but I can't get over being mad at this fucking tv show.

SONIC PRIME CONFESSION

It is 1 am on January 11th, on a Thursday, on a SCHOOL day, 4 hour afternoon charter school classes or not I should be sleeping right now, but instead of sleeping I'm writing a DRAMATIC confession post about a NETFLIX CHILDREN'S SHOW staring a BLUE ANTHRO HEDGEHOG.

But, I may as well cut to the chase, I don't think I like Sonic Prime, I just like that it fuels my SONADOW vision. (Yaoi vision but exclusively for sonadow) I don't even like Sonic as a character in this show most of the time, he's just a stand-in for what I think is a better Sonic. Legit I skipped the pirate episode back when the first season was out because it bore me. It's partially a lie tho, I did think it was a fine show back in season one, at the very least I thought it was cute, but in hindsight I don't think it would have been NEARLY as invested in this show if season one didn't end the way that it did. Sorry for the long post I'll go to sleep now.

Favourite "Unimportant" headcanon (ex: Marceline and PB pulled a few strings to make the former happen)

LONG POST

ooh this is an interesting one. I have a lot of thoughts on this so strap in and buckle up my dude

Favorite Moment- Since I already said Varmints was my favorite episode and there are so many good character moments in the series, I'll have to go with the ending montage and PB and Marcy's reconciliation in the RC Mines. The ending montage just warms my heart to know there are still adventures to be had with our favorite characters and that our own interpretations and headcanons can take shape with the stories not shown (although they may have changed post DL and who know what's to come with F&C)

Now for the moment from my fav episode. This scene is what made appreciate PB's character and made her my favorite AT character. We see Peebles at her lowest point when she is no longer in control of her life and pushed away those she tried to trust and form relationships with.

First her "family" betrayed her and she was forced to "lobotomize" them to keep them from hurting her and her brother Neddy (if you remember, her hat was once a piece of Gumbald's merchandise) Then when she found someone to share her life with, she (Marcy) ended up "betraying" her too (and wrote a banger of a diss track in the process) And then she was betrayed by her own people and forced into exile from her home by that dilweed KOO (and even stole and wore her clothes that creep)

And the final nail in the coffin is when the Varmint Queen/Mother (whatever you wanna call that body-horror nightmare) traps her and Marcy in the mines and Marcy puts on her go-to coping mechanism and starts jokingly ridiculing Bonnie for the umpteenth time, PB can't take it no more and lets her emotions and insecurities pour out. But what does Marcy do? She listens to what her friend/ex has on her mind and tells her she has nothing to apologize for cause she's been through a lot of stuff too. And after all that, they finally understand each other better and reconcile their strained friendship (and eventually their love for one another)

And that's why those are my favorite moments from AT. Now after that long ramble, I can now answer the other things.

Important HC -I think when Jake died, since Finn took it really hard and become depressed like that scene in The Music Hole, PB and Marceline started being around him more becoming his supportive older sisters with BMO as his emotional support robot. (his mother Minerva would video chat with him every once and a while since a small human colony was established in Ooo like in the Season 11 comic issue)

Eventually Bronwyn would be interested by the stories of the adventures of her late grandfather from Finn's friends and wanted to explore the lands of Ooo and beyond with him. At first he was hesitant of adventuring without his bro, but PB, Marcy, Minerva, and Simon encouraged him to take her on adventures since Finn was instrumental in the betterment of their lives. And that's why she is with Finn post Obsidian (unless F&C contradicts this)

And finally Unimportant HC -Since it's shown in Obsidian that Simon most likely owns DB Guy's Tavern, Finn, Jake, Marceline, PB and everyone else we know and love from AT hang out and discuss their past and present adventures and their lives with each other each week.

Thanks so much for the questions. That was probably the longest ramble I've ever written online. Almost makes me want to colab with other AT fans on stuff, if I can get past my laziness and procrastination. I also want to shout out these other tumblrs who have made me the AT fan I am today (perhaps I should join discord again?)

Okay, rereading Animorphs and I realised something. 

My post about the Andalites’ eye-placement according to canon could in fact be wrong. Cause the books tend to say that after describing them lke whatever herd animal the narrator wants to describe them as partially-looking-like. 

Book Example (The Invasion, first book, narrated by Jake): 

My first reaction was that someone had cloned a person and a deer together. The creature had a head and shoulders and arms that were more or less where they should have been, though the skin was a pale shade of blue.

But below that he had fur, a mix of blue and tan, covering a four-legged body that really did look like it belonged to a deer, or maybe a small horse. He ducked his head out the doorway and I could see that even the fairly normal-looking parts of him weren't all that normal. For a start, he had no mouth, just three vertical slits. And then there were his eyes. Two of them were where they should have been, although they were a glittery green color that was kind of shocking.

So maybe the andalites do have eyes on their side like a deer or a horse which would make it pretty easy for andalites to see forward, left, right and back at the same tme. Which would make it very difficult to sneak up to them. 

But they also say it after describing upper body like a human torso. So now I’m damn confused. Is Jake (and then the rest of narrators) referring to “should have been” as in “on humans” or on “deers/horses”.
