like i should not have to say in the notes of my fics on ao3 'this is a gen fic, it is clearly marked as a gen fic, it is not meant to be shippy, please respect that' when the fic is already clearly marked as gen and with tags indicating the dynamics are not romantic/sexual.
and then it still doesn't work. people still do this shit, no matter how loudly or clearly people say that on their fics. nobody can make you read and interpret a fic a certain way but what is it gonna take for you to understand other people's gen fics are not about your ship and you absolutely should not be saying things about your ship to the author based on their gen fic. most of fandom is already about you and what you're interested in can you not be happy with that and leave me and my fics and every other gen fic out there the hell alone.

You Smell Like by mystic_believexx | M | 185369 For her part, Jay took everything in her stride, barely batting an eyelid when Louis came into the kitchen the night Harry left and said, “I seem to have accidentally become the pack’s Alpha”. Ever since Harry left town, Louis’ found himself with the role of pack Alpha, despite being human. So he can’t wait to hand over the reins when Harry returns. Except, it’s not quite that simple… OR The one where Louis is the Alpha’s mate and everyone is aware of it except for Louis and Harry. Go figure!
the school of extraordinary lovers by stylinsoncity | M | 191036 "We keep telling the other, I love you and I love you, and we do, though we both know where the knives are." - Laura Van Prooyen harry is a third-year witch and violinist at Laitswold, the only magical academy in the UK, with dreams of taking on the world, and hopefully breaking the centuries-old curse on his family while he's at it. he does not dream of facing off against his childhood rival and duet partner, but louis is back in town after six years abroad, so that's exactly what happens.
Darling, so it goes by disgruntledkittenface | E | 195312 Harry Styles is a world-famous actor at the height of his career but a personal low point when he meets His Serene Highness Prince Louis of Monaco by chance. He doesn’t think they’ll ever see each other again, but after striking up a correspondence, it turns out they have more in common than he thought. Then they start to fall for each other. Louis is different from anyone Harry has dated before and their relationship moves fast as Harry realizes he’s ready for a change. Soon Harry finds himself adapting to an entirely new life, in a country where he doesn’t know the rules, the customs, even the language. Harry is used to people underestimating him, and he’s more determined than ever to prove them wrong. He just needs Louis to meet him halfway. Grace Kelly AU.
Angels Fly by LilyBlue28 | nr | 203082 Harry is a lonely omega in the North Western White River Pack who is uncharacteristically drawn to nature and his now outdated primal instincts. He fills his days with going through the motions and clinging to the one actual friendship he has in the omega Zayn, and when he gets a chance he sneaks away to the edge of their territory to sit with the trees and the wildlife and sketch his favorite part of the river. But what happens when one day he spots the pack alpha, Louis, having an intimate moment with something, or someone, unexpected? Suddenly his quiet, nearly invisible existence gets upended, and secrets he never wanted to know quite literally won't leave him alone, and even when he tries to stay away, he keeps being pulled back into Louis' turbulent orbit. A magical love story featuring a generations long grudge, a menacing curse, and secrets that keep pulling them apart. Will they be able to find a way back to one another through the dark?
Collision by itjustkindahappened | E | 226294 Mythology/Fairytale!AU in which Louis is a dainty fairy with a temper who wants to be intimidating and Harry hurts people. Naturally, they hate each other. (Featuring Liam, the big and not-so-bad wolf who’s got a thing for humans, Zayn, a human with supernaturally good looks, and Niall, the cupid who just wants his job to be easier.)
You Can Hear It In The Silence by Imogenlee | E | 234846 When Harry Styles received acceptance into a post-grad degree, he knew he could no longer afford his flat leaving him with three options: 1) Moving back into student halls. 2) Becoming homeless. 3) Moving in with his best (and only) friend, Niall, and three of Niall's other friends. He ended up choosing the third option. But it was a close race. Shame one of his new housemates reminded him why he only has one friend. If Louis Tomlinson had to choose one thing couldn't stand, it would be pretentious tossers, having grown up around enough of them. If he had to choose something he couldn't live without, it would be his friends. So he was proper thrilled to move in with his best mates and a couple of other lads. That was until he discovered one of them was the archetype for a pretentious tosser. In the interest of seeing out the twelve-month lease without killing each other, they both try (debatable) to get along despite believing they were opposite in almost every conceivable way, each having the communication skills of a cucumber, and secrets that had no business be kept secret.
The Things I Don't Ask by thisonegoes | E | 266670 Foster Montgomery Preparatory School is a sight to behold. Beautiful buildings in front of a beautiful Appalachian backdrop, a rich history, behind wrought iron gates with the carefully chosen Latin motto at the very top: “strenuis ardua cedunt.” “The heights yield to endeavor.” The price tag for such a distinguished and revered institution, for tuition, room, and board is $56,250. A year. A boarding school AU that features two boys who can never say how they really feel.
Remember Me Before You by kingsofeverything | E | 293820 Desperate to find a new place to live after he comes home to find his boyfriend cheating, Harry moves into a loft with three strangers. A New Girl AU.
Of Mates and Men by bananaheathen | E | 630460 In which, Louis and Harry meet as best men for their best friends' wedding... well... sort of. Or, the one where Harry's just moved back from New York and Louis doesn't believe in romance. Or, I guess... the one where Zayn and Liam are getting married.

I have already said it but I want to clarify :
Warning, this is a rant, but why do Zelda fans feel the need to mock those who dare to offer a critical opinion about their favorite game or character?
Especially when it comes to Ganondorf. I can't count how many times I've seen people mocking those who criticize the storyline of TOTK and how the antagonist is portrayed, saying completely narrow-minded things like "duuuuuuuuh, but Ganondorf is pure evil," "those who think he's redeemable are easily manipulated," "he's the villain, and the others are the good guys, end of the story, haha, I'm so much smarter than you, LOLLOLOLOLOL."
Let's make this clear: NO ONE SAID THAT TOTK GANONDORF IS GOOD OR THAT HIS ACTIONS ARE JUSTIFIED.
The problem is that the storyline of TOTK is poorly written, and many people expected a WW Ganondorf but ended up with a TP version of him.
While personally, I didn't expect anything, I understand why some people are frustrated. Once again, let me repeat it:
Critiquing Rauru and Hyrule doesn't mean Ganondorf's actions are forgiven.
Furthermore, there is absolutely nothing ridiculous about complaining about how Nintendo treats Ganondorf (or any other character, for that matter). I've already made a post about this, but WW Ganondorf is one of the best antagonists they have ever written in the Legend of Zelda franchise. That's because they gave him a more human and realistic dimension compared to his other versions. I'd also like to add that originally, Ganondorf was meant to have a good side, much like Raoh in Fist of the North Star, and therefore, he wasn't meant to be 100% evil. But unfortunately, they changed their minds.
Is it really that hard to grasp? I'm sorry for being so upset, but this is really beyond me

nothing upsets me more than wanting to read about a specific character from a specific fandom that is so damn small, theres barely any content. and when I've gone through all of the possible content there is available (even the poorly written fics and pairings that are a little out there) and there's nothing left to read after that, what am I to do? write the fics myself? god, must I really do everything by myself around here? honestly...

so nice
he’s always been nice, and she’s always been in love with him
When she sees him again after college, she thinks it must be fate.
She, like a lot of their schoolmates, had a crush on him back in college. In this regard, she wasn’t special. Jun-ho oppa was handsome and kind, and part of her had waited for the other shoe to drop because there was just no way a guy could be this perfect.
She’s not ashamed to say that she’d immediately been attracted to him. How could she not be, with that tall form, those broad shoulders, and that easy and open smile. He was well-liked by both males and females, and it was no wonder when everyone turned to him for help and he was always ready to give it. Even while volunteering, he had enough time to welcome hoobaes and assist sunbaes alike.
She’s also not ashamed to say that she started volunteering in the same organization because of him. Again, in this regard, she wasn’t special. There was a noticeable increase in the female volunteers the moment they realized where he did his extracurriculars.
The only specialness she could claim is that she was one of the few who never confessed to him while in college. Because Jun-ho oppa had been the type to accept confessions, and date whoever was brave enough to confess to him. And from the sound of it, he was as great a boyfriend as he was a person, always treating his special person like a princess.
He’d dated an unni she knew, and based on what she said, he seemed perfect, always attentive and sweet.
So she’d asked why that unni broke up with him. The other woman had smiled ruefully and said that despite everything he did, she never felt truly special in his eyes.
She had to agree. Even when Jun-ho oppa dated, she never felt jealous because it felt like his smile belonged to everyone.
So she vowed never to confess. She vowed never to end up feeling unexplainably hurt because of him. She vowed she’d remain a close friend in his group forever.
It was enough for her to fall in love, slowly, gradually, because of how much he treated everyone the same regardless of any disabilities they had, or how he’d always ask everyone if they’d already eaten, or how he’d calm everyone down when something happened. It was enough that he belonged to everyone.
Regardless of plans, life goes on. She never really regretted not saying anything, but she did regret drifting apart. There was no dramatic reason. It was just how it happened.
So when she sees him again, by chance, and she sees that he was still as kind as ever, she takes it as fate telling her to shoot her shot.
The second time she sees him only solidifies her resolve. She takes the chance, wanting them all to catch up, and then afterwards she’d ask if he wanted to go out for coffee some time, just the two of them.
It’s not as if she ignored the person he was with, but it doesn’t dawn on her what it really means to see them together again. She only chalked it up to his sense of dedication.
So when he stated that he was on a date, only for the words to be repeated by his companion, she doesn’t know how to react. Even more so when they end up dashing away with nary an explanation.
Later, she doesn’t know how it all went wrong. She was more than a little bit drunk. They all were. But even through her confusion, she’s happy to spend time with him again. Just like old times.
They weren’t holding hands, so she thinks, ah, as if a metaphorical light-bulb pinged in her head, that’s it, of course. Jun-ho oppa had always been so kind. (she’s not in denial, she’s not)
Sunbae is saying something somewhat echoing her thoughts, though it’s a bit hard for her to absorb with the haze permeating her head.  She thinks though that if it had been her, she wouldn’t have been so blunt about it. In a split second that she can’t believe it’s actually happening, Jun-ho oppa has tackled sunbae to the ground.
She sobers up in an instant. She’s never seen him like this, face full of rage that it actually scares her. Through the last dredges of alcohol, she struggles to reconcile this with the kind oppa in her memories.
She’s still gaping when he aggressively shakes off the hands still holding him back and stalks out of the bar. Amidst the loud ringing and curses left behind, she’s shaking her head, shell-shocked, wondering where it all went wrong. The night had started out so well.
She shakes her head in a panic, the only clear thought in her mind being that if she let Jun-ho oppa leave now, they’d never see him again forever. She dashes out, desperate to catch him.
Outside she sees him with his hands on his waist, breathing deeply, looking aggravated. Part of her is still shocked, because she’s never seen him this way. He was always the one to break up drunken brawls, not start them.
It surprises her to see that his arm as it agitatedly goes through his hair is shaking.
She blames the alcohol and the unexpected events of the night for the stupid words that blurt out of her mouth, “Jun-ho oppa, I like you.”
He turns to her abruptly, surprised to see her there. It both shocks and hurts her to see his eyes are watery. Now that the words are out, she can’t stop herself. “I’ve always liked you, since college. Please don’t leave. I’m sorry.”
It is with desperation and a bit of hysteria that she thinks that maybe he’d accept her, the way he always had in college. The only claim to specialness she might have over his girlfriend is that she’s known him longer.
He just sighs, deeply. He looks her in the eye and asks, “Why?”
Her head shoots up. “Huh?”
He repeats his words, patient as always, “Why do you like me?”
His eyes are non-judgmental and she’s always liked that about him. She had to be honest the only way she could be with liquid courage still bolstering her, “I think it was love at first sight, and I only grew to like you more because of how nice you were to me and everyone you met. So,” she continues, voice trembling, “This isn’t like you, oppa.”
He smiles at her, but it’s not one of the smiles she loves. This one aches, especially as he still looks to be in near tears. “I think it was just a crush at first. She was-is beautiful,” he breathes in, “But the more I got to know her, the deeper I fell. She opened doors for me, and pulled out my seat for me, and wanted me to walk on the inside of the sidewalk.”
The more he speaks, the more confused she gets, but as he goes on, that sad smile transforms to one infinitely soft and fond, though still heartbreaking. She’s never seen this smile before either.
He looks at her again with that fragile smile, with what she recognizes now as both hope and fear in his gaze. It’s the fear of losing something precious, and of course she recognizes it. She can’t help her own tears falling, as she tries to stifle a sob with her hands.
“She was nice to me because she liked me,” he says finally, head shaking slightly, “And I like-love her for it, and for more, that I shouldn’t have to say out loud or justify to anyone, much less to people who are supposed to be my friends.”
She’s openly sobbing now as she finally gets it. The Jun-ho oppa she knew, the one he still is despite the changes she’ll never be privy too, would never have mocked her for her love. He would have never called her shallow. He would have responded, is responding, with sincerity.
Sincerity that she - they - should have matched with their own. It doesn’t matter that he’s known them longer than he’s known his special someone. Just like how she was drawn to him, love and comfort had no conditions bound to time or space.
He had always made them - her - feel safe, but it looks like they couldn’t return the favor.
As she’s sobbing in her hands, he says, voice hoarse, “Please don’t apologize to me. I’m not the one who has to hear it.”
This time, when he leaves, she doesn’t stop him.
_
The third time she sees him - them, they are happy. She has her eyes screwed shut as her palm lays in his larger one, and the widest of smiles paints his face. No one had ever been special to him before, but it didn’t mean that no one would ever be in the future.
One day, she would apologize to her, but not now. They don’t need her to interrupt this tender moment. As his partner opens her eyes, and slowly lands a kiss on his cheek, as Jun-ho oppa blushes red, love shining in his eyes, the only thing she thinks, gazing at the peaceful scene is, so nice.
Maybe someday, she’d have that too.

Very fluffy future married Wooho fic snippet, rated G 🐳💕
Her alarm clock blares out, and with a groan, Youngwoo reaches out a hand and switches it off before sitting up in bed, pushing up her eye mask. She rubs at her eyes, blinking blearily into the room before glancing at the rest of the empty bed.
Monday. Her first day back at work in three months. While she had popped into the office a couple of times during her time off, this would be her first day working again, and she has mixed feelings about it. She’s missed work, and she’s looking forward to being busy again and getting stuck into new cases but… she’ll miss her quiet life, here at home, the little slice of peace they had carved out for themselves.
“Youngwoo-ya! I’ve made breakfast!” A familiar voice calls out, and she perks up. Breakfast already? He must have been up early this morning.
She pulls on a robe and tosses off her mask, shoving her feet into the slippers by her bed, and she’s still yawning when she pads into the kitchen.
“There you are,” Junho says, grinning at her from his place by the cooker. “One Woo Youngwoo gimbap for eomma,” he places a plate down at her place at the table as she plops into a chair. “And one warm milk for you.” He sets down a bottle on the high chair, ruffling their daughter’s non-existent hair before shucking his apron and grabbing his own mug of coffee, setting it down in front of him and dropping into a chair, picking up the bottle.
“Shouldn’t I breastfeed this morning?” Youngwoo says, touching her daughter’s little cheek with her thumb fondly. “Since I’m going to be out all day.”
“I thought it would be better if I fed her, since you have to get ready for work.”
Youngwoo shakes her head, sticking a mouthful of gimbap into her mouth and setting down her chopsticks, reaching for her child. “I’d have to pump anyway, or I’ll be sore by the end of the day. I can feed her while I eat.”
“Alright jagiya. Let’s go to eomma, huh?” Junho stands to swing his daughter from her highchair, placing her carefully in Youngwoo’s arms and helping her unbutton her pyjama top, pushing it aside so she can settle the tiny child at her breast.
“Ah,” she hisses as she latches on.
“Still sore?”
“A little. It’s okay once she starts.” Getting used to the sensation of her daughter suckling from her had been bizarre - but Youngwoo had thought about how whales nursed their young, and imagined the little child as a whale calf. Whales were notoriously wonderful, nurturing mothers, and Youngwoo was determined to be the same.
“Here, eat,” Junho prompts, picking up the chopsticks and a piece of gimbap, offering it to her. She opens her mouth to take it, snickering around the mouthful. “What?”
“You’re feeding me like a baby while I’m feeding the baby.”
He grins. “Well I’ve gotta make sure my wife is well fed too,” he says, offering her another piece of gimbap. “How you feeling about work today?”
“Good,” Youngwoo nods. “Although the routine will take some getting used to again.” Truthfully, she was feeling more than a little stressed about that - it had been hard at first with a new baby, but she’d settled nicely into a routine with her daughter now, feed, nap, and changing times all down to a schedule. Now she’d have to get used to getting up and going to work again, and alter her new daughter’s routine around it too.
Since she earned the most money out of the two of them, it had made sense that Junho would be the one to stay home whilst she kept working - although attorney Jung had promised him some hours from home once he was ready. Youngwoo knew it was a bit unorthodox, for the wife to go to work whilst the husband stayed home with their new baby (his mother had pursed her lips and made a few snide comments here and there), but Junho didn’t seem to give a damn, more than happy for her to be the breadwinner whilst he took care of their daughter.
“Youngwoo-ya!”
She looks round in surprise as her best friend bursts in through the back door of their kitchen.
“Geurami! She’s feeding her!” Junho exclaims, moving to cover his wife’s chest.
“Ah, it’s nothing I haven’t seen before,” Geurami waves a hand and Junho’s eyes bulge.
“What?”
Youngwoo nods. “She helped me buy my first bra. I was fifteen and I’d never worn one because I didn’t know how they should fit.”
Geurami is nodding, and Junho drags a hand over his face and sits back down.
“What are you doing here so early Geurami?” Youngwoo asks. She glances at the time. “Shouldn’t you still be sleeping?”
“Ah - I haven’t been to bed yet. I wanted to see my best friend before she goes back to work this morning.”
Ever since Geurami and Hairy had opened up their own bar/late night dining club, as Geurami had dubbed it, her friend had taken to sleeping during the days so she could be up all night. Usually, Youngwoo didn’t see or hear from her until the late afternoon or evening.
“It’s your favourite auntie!” Her friend coos at the baby, leaning in to gently poke her little cheek as she suckles from her mother. Youngwoo bats Geurami’s hand away. “You’ll put her off, and she needs to drink; I won’t be able to feed her for approximately ten hours and fifteen minutes after this.”
Geurami snorts. “It’s not like she’s going to starve Youngwoo-ya! Junho can feed her too, you know.”
“Yes, I know but…” she trails off, chewing her lip. Her friend was right; Junho could feed her. Her breast milk had been stored for this reason, all safely stashed in the fridge, and she’d given him the schedule of feeding times written neatly out. They would be fine. She would be fine.
