honestly, one of the most refreshing things about Taemoo and Sunghoon in Business Proposal -
they each had a scene where their female love interest is in a potentially embarrassing situation (Hari with the dress splitting and Youngseo with the locked bathroom)
and they respond by immediately doing what they can to help and protect them from further embarrassment, with zero judgment for how they ended up in the situation in the first place.
and it just makes me realize how often romantic comedies revel in humiliating their characters, especially female characters who want their love interests to see them as attractive and desirable.
it was so, so nice to see male leads not only help their love interests out of an embarrassing situation, but also not treat it like a big deal.
maybe love is when a guy breaks the door to a public bathroom down, and not so much when he chases your creepy neighbor
maybe it’s not about buying the expensive dress, but standing behind you to hide the fact that you ripped it
love vulnerability control honor respect commitment responsibility
@ishaslife and I fancasted zayne, xavier and rafayel.
Please excuse the hastily done hair and eye colour edits xD Any other suggestions and a fan cast for Caleb is welcome =3
(left to right) Sunghoon from Enhypen as Rafayel, Taeyong from NCT as Xavier, and Eunwoo as Zayne.
Initially, I was conflicted by Se-ra’s masturbation scene, as I felt that the level of explicitness was unnecessary. I was so convinced that exposing her addiction was sufficient. However, I came across a tweet by ldh_kenki, who translated the caption attached to her poster : “Sara - the hand that mocked and broke others”. Now this explicit scene for me has such a powerful purpose.
The hands that were used to hurt DE and many other victims + bring them to their knees, are now the same hands that lead to Se-ra’s downfall. She used her hands to hit and burn people, and now the exact same hands burned down her facade of a ‘good, churching going girl’ ... and it was done in a way that also mocked her ... whereby her once allies now made fun of her actions/hypocrisy.
After years of watching shows use sex scenes as a filler or a form of violence, it’s great to see a s ex scene have such symbolism and be a major plot point. This show is just so damn brilliant.
Edit:
Also, I just realized that the cameras recording her was meant to parallel all the times she stood by and recorded YJ bullying various victims.
imagine being a figure skating fan and an enhypen fan and seeing people saying that if he weren’t to retire, sunghoon would’ve become the greatest figure skater of all time and calling him the “ice prince” (a title reserved for yuzuru hanyu) and putting *sunghoon does triple axel* AT A DOUBLE LUTZ and refusing to admit the fact that he is the korean equivalent of jason brown (good artistry, bad technicality), and saying that he is the best figure skater korea has ever had WHEN YUNA KIM AND JUNHWAN CHA ARE RIGHT THERE.
