#zeno's art#i feel so strong 😭 when shes around 😭 she picks me up 😭 when 😭 i 😭 am 😭 down 😭#even i can admit that i love the full theme song. anyway!#for this redesign i also wanted him to feel less generic but in a different way to marinette#i wanted his civilian clothes to look comfortable and stylish so hes like ... a rich boy who doesnt really dress like a rich boy#idk#i got rid of the purple to keep everything cohesive and because it annoyed me#and i tried to make the outfit less simiar to maris too. why were they both wearing nearly matching jacket shirt jeans ensembles???#i also wanted to make his hair look a bit smart with the side part but also a little rebellious with the spiked hair#that also creates a subtle cat ear silhouette.#with the chat noir suit: the original looks very uncomfortable and embarrassing to wear for a 14 year old (i think theyre 14 in the show?)#i remember that one of the designers for itsv said that most teens would be embarrassed wearing a spandex/tight suit if they were superheros#and thats why miles wore shorts and a jacket and shoes over his#so i thought 'ill make chat's suit more comfy'#rather than his weird leather suit its more loose esp in the legs to make an interesting silhouette#the cat scratches on the suit + the messier hair also signify rebellion#and the belt mirrors that of my ladybug redesign#the graident tail is just to match plagg + it looks cool#ok done rambling!#miraculous ladybug#mlb#adrien agreste#chat noir#cat noir#plagg#zag studios hire this man

It’s Fantastic
Most of the team is hanging out in the common room, everyone doing their own thing. The silence of the room is interrupted when you look up from your phone, calling everyone’s attention. 
“Hey guys? Do we have any plans tomorrow night?” 
The question is clearly directed towards one of the older players, as you and the younger players have made it clear that you would not be memorizing schedules. 
Alex scrolls through something in her phone for a few seconds before looking up and responding. 
“Practice until 6, dinner at 7. After that, we have the rest of the night off. Why?”
“That’s literally perfect! There’s a movie theater not too far from here, can we please, please, please all go see the new Barbie movie?!?” you’re not ashamed to admit that you may be begging slightly. 
The others chuckle at your enthusiasm, but all exchange glances. There really wasn’t a good reason that they couldn’t see the move. And judging by the looks on everyone’s face, you weren’t the only one who wanted to go see it.
“Tell you what, Y/N,” Pinoe levels you with a look, “if you can convince Vlatko to let us all go, we’re in.”
“Easy,” you say with full (false) confidence. “He can’t say no to me. Plus, I already rented out a theater.”

It turns out, Vlatko has no problem saying no to you. But, again, you’re not above begging. You beg and plead, until he finally gives in. Honestly, it’s probably so he doesn’t have to listen to you anymore. 
Your team was in, Coach had approved it, now you just needed to make it exciting.

“It’s Lucy and Kiera, and Georgia and Le-“ you sing, skipping into the England common room. “Hmmm, I guess that song doesn’t really work anymore. And I didn’t even get to the bridge about Beth and Vivi.”
The England team is somewhat startled by the American who came singing an obnoxious theme song. You had made the song up almost four years ago, after you had signed for Arsenal. At freshly 14, in a new country and away from your family, some of the Arsenal girls had taken you in. 
When they realized that going to camp meant leaving you behind, Leah worked some magic and managed to sort it out so that you could go and practice with the team. You clicked with the team instantly, becoming the annoying little sister that they couldn’t help but love. 
“Anyway, mates,” you start. Leaning over to Georgia, you whisper to ask, “did I use that right?”
At her nod, you continue, “as I was saying, anyway, mates, I’ve come to extend an invitation for a once in a lifetime opportunity. It’s been called bigger than the World Cup. Who wants to go see the Barbie movie tomorrow night?”
You’re bouncing on your feet slightly as you speak, clearly excited. 
Lucy lets out a small chuckle, “good luck convincing Sarina to let us skip recovery to watch a movie.”
You squint slightly at Lucy, somewhat questioning, “you seem to forget who convinced Sarina to let us have a Colin cake for dinner more than once. It’s on.”
“Meet in the US lobby at 7:45, and don’t forget to wear pink,” you shout over your shoulder as you rush out the door.

Sarina agreed with very little convincing. You assured her that all of the girls were okay with starting recovery earlier so that they could go to the movie, and she couldn’t deny that team bonding is always a good idea. 
She only had one stipulation, which you easily agreed to. After helping her pick out the appropriate pink outfit for her to wear the next night, you move on to your next project.

You knock cheerily on the door a few times before swinging it open. Your face lights up as you see the two people you were looking for, and you rush towards them. 
Rue and Katie pulled you in, hugging you tight. You hadn’t seen them in a long time, and you had missed the women who had watched out for you for so many years. Rue pressed kisses all over your face as Katie ruffled your hair. You pull away from them, giggling. 
“Guys, I love you and I missed you like crazy, but that’s not why I’m here,” now, you turn to address the majority of the Ireland team that’s in the room. “I’m here to invite you all to come to a very exclusive cinema screening tomorrow evening. Meet at 7:45 in the US lobby and wear something pink. Don’t be late!”
You shout a quick bye to the two women before leaving the room, now onto your hopefully last task.

“Oh, Sammy,” you say happily, trotting into the room where you found most of the Australian team. 
You knew Sam from playing against her in London, but you had become even closer when she started dating Kristie. If she could be your possible future sister-in-law who’s not actually related to you in any way, you had to be best friends. If you asked Sam, though, she may say that she mainly tolerates you. 
“Hi Ali, hi Sammy, hi rest of the team,” you rush out, “tomorrow night, 7:45, US lobby, wear pink, please come.”
You nod once, turning and waking out the door. The team sits in confusion for a second, scanning the others’ faces to see if anyone knows what you said.

When dinner started at 7, you ate about two bites before trying to get out of your chair and clear your plate. You get about a dozen glares and a hand catches your wrist before you leave the table. 
“I’m full, promise, I just gotta go. It’s almost time,” you protest. 
The glares don’t lessen, though, so you slump back in your seat. You pout as you push the food around your plate, the others trying not to laugh as you through what is basically a temper tantrum. 
“Y/N.”
Your full first name gets you looking sheepishly up at Alex. 
“You don’t have to finish your whole dinner, but you do need to finish your vegetables. Then you can go get ready.”
You still squirm slightly, too excited to sit completely still. But you don’t make any move to bring your fork up to your mouth. 
“You know,” Kelley starts in a way that makes it clear that you don’t actually know, “I bet Pressy and Tobs would love a call to hear about how the ‘golden child’ isn’t listening. I don’t think they’ll be asleep yet, how about we give them a call now?”
You stay silent, finally managing to still your body. 
“It’s funny, I bet Tobin still has all the numbers of the Arsenal players. And I would also bet that she would not hesitate to call them and tell them the plans are off because someone couldn’t behave.”
She pulls her phone out, then hesitates, “that takes care of England and Ireland, but I’m not sure about Australia. I could have Kristie call Sam, or I could have Chris call Ali. Y/N, do you have any preference?” Kelley fixes you with a look. 
Finally, you break, showing a bite of your dinner in your mouth. After chewing and swallowing, you look up. 
“I’m sorry, please don’t cancel. I wasn’t trying to be bad, I’m just excited.”
The rest of dinner passes quickly, and soon it’s 7:30. You’re basically vibrating in the lobby, waiting for everyone to arrive. Soon enough, everyone’s arrived and the lobby is a sea of hot pink. With a giant smile on your face, you start leading everyone out of the hotel and over a couple of blocks to the movie theater. 
“Was this planned?” Sam leans over to ask Kristie, “how did she have that outfit?” 
You were wearing a fully pink outfit that would have made Barbie herself jealous. Meanwhile, the England girls were doling out their pink warm up gear after you insisted that you wouldn’t let anyone not wearing pink into the movie. 
Kristie laughs, “no, that’s just how she dresses. Pink nails, pink dresses, sparkles, the whole deal. It’s easier not to question it.”
You were at the front of the group, talking to players you used to play with, players you currently play with, players you could only dream of playing with. There weren’t different countries, there weren’t rivals, there weren’t competitors. There were simply people following a girl dressed in far too much pink.

these ones don't really have a theme :)
☆ Knox struggles with tying his school tie, and Cameron sometimes helps him with it - Cam would never admit it but he loves being able to help Knox out, especially because he's quite proud of his skills when it comes to formal wear
☆ Neil and Todd always argue about who's supposed to eat the last bit of candy in a bag when they share - it starts with Neil being all gentleman-like and saying "Go on, you can have it" and Todd insisting that he's full anyway. They argue about this for like five minutes and then they're both like "Okay fine i'll eat it" and suddenly they're trying to snatch the bag away from the other because now they wanna be the one to have the last piece.
They often end up sharing it.
One way or another.
☆ I've mentioned this one before but Pitts and Meeks putting a blanket over each other when they fall asleep over homework/the radio. For some reason, in my headcanon Pittsie has a handmade blanket that his mum gave him against homesickness when he was small, and it's in orange, white and red tones, plaid (which Meeks really likes). It's kinda become both their blanket, having been in their shared room for so long.
☆ Charlie is scared of birds, especially ducks, and Knox LOVES chasing pigeons towards him while Charlie screams and tries to stay cool
☆ Todd has eucalyptus sore throat candy with him wherever he goes, even if he's not ill, he finds the taste and scent soothing.
☆ Knox had a guitar phase, where he'd play cheesy songs at every meeting, and the poets were all kinda annoyed by it because they just wanted to hang out and Knox was like 😀🎸
☆ Charlie's favourite candy flavour is (sour) green apple

I thought I'd share my Saiki K playlist. It's just a bunch of songs I like that I think fit him rough arranged by where I feel like they fall on his character arc. Justifications for my selections under the cut.
I Am a Rock by Simon & Garfunkel: This song really strikes me as affirmations of a deeply lonely person trying to convince themselves that they're better off this way. A good fit for Saiki at the start of the series when he's closed himself off from other people.
The Beast by Spectacle-P: It's about a someone who's been lonely for so long that they've forgotten how lonely they are being offered love but being too proud and full of fear to accept it. I'd quote some of the translated lyrics but I'd just end up putting most of the song here I think. Please watch the subtitled video on youtube and tell me if don't think this isn't a good fit for Saiki.
Nothing at All: Reminds me of early series Saiki's tirades about how much being a psychic sucks where he just describes the symptoms of depression.
Loveless by Steampianist: Honestly I don't remember why I put this on here. Probably because of the feelings of alienation it conveys and how it seems to be about the ace experience of not being able to experience love in the way that society tells you should.
Are You Satisfied by Marina: I think this ones pretty self-explanatory. If I was better at drawing I'd like to make an animatic about the Saiki brothers using this song.
Star of Show: I'll admit this ones a bit more of a stretch and honestly it's mostly on here because I like listening to it when plotting out my fanfic but also "I'm not a freak/I'm not an act/I'm not a deity's performance!" kind of fits with his issues about how his powers affect people's perception of him.
404 by Pinocchio-P: It's about feeling unable to connect to people and like your true-self will be rejected. I also think the little alien guy in the music video for it looks a lot like Kusuo. I actually forgot how good a fit this was until I went and looked at the lyrics again and yup past me was correct in putting it on this playlist.
A Hundred Years Unresolved: It's lonely sounding and I came to associate it with Saiki because like listening to it when I play the Regentquest segment of See You in the Dark. No deeper reason then that.
Oh No! by Marina: Kusuo is the sort of guy to go "I know exactly what I want and who I want to be." You know, like a liar.
The Chattering Lack of Common Sense: I'm not sure how to explain it but I feel like the theme of falseness that runs through the song fits him. It's also worth mentioning that this song is also on my Kuusuke playlist that I'm not sharing here because it isn't as good and frankly it's kind of shameful that I even have a playlist for that guy.
I Am Not a Robot by Marina: Kusuo is vulnerable and lovable even if he doesn't believe that about himself.
God-ish by Pinocchio-P: I'm not sure how well this one fits because frankly this is one of the Pinocchio-P songs I don't feel like I have as solid a handle on the meaning of. I mostly chose it because of the name and because it seems to be a pretty cynical song.
Fear and Loathing by Marina: "Now I see, I see it for the first time / There is no crime in being kind / Not everyone is out to screw you over / Maybe, yeah just maybe, they just want to get to know you" I feel like this is fairly self-explanatory
arms by Christina Perri: I listened to my Pandora stations for the first time in ages recently (well back in August, apparently), heard this and thought "Kubosai song?!" though frankly it would also work well for Nensai or other Saiki ships or even platonically if you ignore some the more romantic lyrics. Though I think it's best suited to the first two listed. Anyway I think this fits Saiki's relationship issues pretty well.
Soap by The Oh Hellos: It's a very hopeful song about how people need other people and you are not unlovable. So I think you can imagine why I thought it was a good song to end the playlist with.

It was a peaceful afternoon in the house of Lamentation, it was a dreary day. It was rainy, chilling the normal piping hot heat.
The steam was lifting off the Devildom pavement creating a misty atmosphere, fitting as they we’re literately in the underworld.
The pattering on the window was pleasant to Satan as he sat on his bed reading one of his many books, todays title “Celtic Mythology: Into The Unknown.” He sighed, resting his eyes to look up at the dark cloudy sky.
To be honest he loved days like this, the rain was somewhat charming. Not acid rain, but normal human realm rain.
It didn’t burn to the touch nor did it leave scotched marks on the ground. The sky is full of mysteries untold, that even he didn’t know about—the true philosopher stone. Sure the sky couldn’t turn base metals into precious ones, but it was equally as mystical.
The house was very calm that day, with no chaos in sight. It was unusual for his brothers to not cause disturbances throughout the household but not rare.
You see, his youngest brother was mostly likely sleeping, Beel was probably in the kitchen once again, Asmodeus was in his room doing Diavolo knows what, that otaku was cooped up in his room and for Mammon, Satan could care less, and his dear older brother, Lucifer, was probably drowning himself in work. He deserves it.
But the blonde then thought, “what about MC?” He looked to his door, half expecting MC to waltz into his room but he knew they were to polite for that.
Every since he snapped at them they’ve been more cautious around him, sure other the months they learned a lot about each other but still. Satan knew they were still on edge.
He missed them, as much as he hated to admit it. They were so alluringly him. MC was smart, kind, and had an sort of spice to them that you’d never know what was coming next. Unpredictable, but than again, quite ditzy. He craved their presence. Their soul is so pure. Not an evil bone in their body and no brimstone tainted skin in sight.
Satan sighed, not wanting to disturb even a mouse, he closed his book once slipping a bookmark within it’s pages. Placing the leather bounded book on his bed, he made it to the floor and tugged on his normal blazer. He slips back on his shoes, grabs his D.D.D, and starts to head out. At the door, he finds the need to turn around and once he does, the shadow of a wet cat walks past his closed window. Alluring but mysterious…the creature was quite like MC themselves if Satan thought hard enough.
As he turned down his lanterns and turned off his lights, he walks through the hallway in search for the human.
Alluring can be shortened to Allure, and an acronym for Allure can be anywhere between Captivation to Enchantment to more scientific words such as Fascination and Intrigued. All the more words to describe MC. Mysterious, they were too. Always hiding secrets of their past, Satan nor any of his brothers being able to truly understand the highly guarded MC enough. She was an enigma; the definition being: a person or thing that is mysterious or difficult to understand.
At times they cried, wailing hopelessly on the shoulder of somebodies but not his own, then to gasping for air as they laugh as hard as their gut could manage. ‘The human behaviour is interesting,’ he thought as he walked through the halls. Just as he gazed over at the window to the pattering water he spotted something odd. A hunched over figure in rain coat, the sky spat down on them. It was odd—the figure, that is. The figure didn’t seem dangerous nor unnerving, just…odd.
“I guess…I shall check anyways…”
Satan went to the closet exit, and gazed out onto the dreary misty back yard of the mansion. The figure was still crouched over, it’s arms seemed to be moving though and (H/L) (H/C) hair seemed to be peeking from the sides of the hood.
Satan slowly approached the figure while putting his blazer above his head to act as a shield from the thick wet forest. “Hello?” He spoke, a pace away from the figure. He then herd a familiar ‘meow’ of a cat. As the figure turns around, the wet black cat from earlier daintily made their way to Satan. The figure was MC.
“Satan?” MC looked up at him with deep (E/C) eyes. Before she could speak again, Satan stood behind them, shielding them from the rain… “It’s you…what are you going here?” They asked.
“I could ask you the same thing, MC.” Satan smiled a bit but MC seemingly didn’t get the hit since they started scrambling through their head.
“I-I was just—I saw him—I MEAN the CAT all wet and—um, I couldn’t just let him stay out in the r-rain s-so—“
“So lets get inside. The both of you.” Satan smiled wider with tender eyes. MC, this time, got the message.
“Okay,” They said with a genuine smile and soft eyes. With their hands, they picked up the cat and cradled him softly in him in their arms. MC stood up and looked to their side to see Satan holding his blazer overtop their heads.
“Lets get him dried up, and…” Satan came even closer to MC and looked at them intently. MC could feel their heart racing as the sweet smell of parchment and a mix of cologne wafted into their personal space. “You as well. You seem cold so…let me over you some tea.” He said. As he spoke, his breath could be seen in the cold air. “It’s raining quite hard so…we should make haste.”
MC blinked their eyes, quickly drifting back to reality. “O-oh—um, yeah. We should get in.” They adjusted the cat in her arms, pulling the feline closer to their chest. MC then looks up at Satan, feeling their close proximity as his chest meets their back.
“Cute…” Satan starts.
“Hm—wha—” MC blushed a thousand yards deep pink. Satan then gestures to the cat with his eyebrows. His face still neutral and his lips thin like paper.
“The cat. He’s very cute…He’d be quite the addition to our house but I think between you and I, we can take care of him quite well. Don’t you think?” he asked with a slight smile as MC gains back their composure.
“Yes—the cat. I think so as well. Lets keep him.”

a circular argument breaks out between you, again — useless, heartbreaking, the worst sort of predicament to be in on your last night on the island. the harshness behind his words, the dismissal that followed it, only dug a hole in your heart for anxiety and fear to swarm into. before you can make an even bigger fool of yourself, you get dressed and prepare yourself for a night out alone. a large celebration in the middle of the seemingly quiet town, the streets closed to allow for the tourists and townspeople alike to have their fun. 
music thumps heavily, colorful watered down drinks are sold — promises of a night to remember with each purchase, the scam only successful because of the party-atmosphere. the pub is even rowdier, full of sweaty bodies, pirates and vagabonds alike, the bar swarming with patrons, and there you are, on top of the counter, hips swaying as you dance to the music. the bartender watches, half-amused, half mesmerized by the shape of your legs, the way your dress rides up your thighs, the way you don’t seem to have a care in the world, even as you amass an audience — which, works for the owner of the pub, they’re coming to drink their sorrows and spend money anyway.
when the song changes, you’re handed a shot of vodka, which you down quickly, licking your lips with a carefree smile — one that hides the melancholy you actually feel — and giggle when the cute bartender takes the empty glass from you, his long fingers brushing against yours accidentally, making your skin flush enough that you step to another part of the counter to hide the reaction. unbeknownst to you, part of your crew enters the pub too. they see how loud the patrons are and assume there’s quality alcohol being sold.
he spots you right away — he always can, no matter how many people are around, eustass kid will always find you in a crowd. it’s only easier tonight because you’re putting on a show and because you’re in a dress he hasn’t seen before, in a fabric that clings to your skin, in a pair of heels that you bought because he liked how they looked on you. orange eyes narrowed sharply, kid feels killer tense beside him before he tells kid to relax and not react just yet. easier said than done; the betrayal cuts too deep, and his anger has yet to subside from the argument he had with you earlier.
it’s his fault, really; but he won’t admit to that.
you feel his gaze and figure it’s the alcohol, but when you look up, when your eyes meet his, a panic flits around inside of you, turning your insides to mush, making your knees a little weak. you haven’t done anything wrong, not to your knowledge, but he’s looking at you as if you’ve offended him in the worst way possible.
for some reason, this pisses you off; and you motion for the bartender to get you another shot. 
the exchange is a little more amorous than he’d like, so kid, despite his crew mates trying desperately to hold him back, marches towards the bar, a dark aura cloaking him, making the crowd scatter within seconds. 
you’re in the middle of your drink when he reaches you, a frown on his lips, his anger palpable as he attempts to gather his thoughts.
“we’re leaving,” he says after a moment. you stare at him, wide-eyed, in disbelief and shake your head.
“no, i’m staying here. i’m having fun, actually.”
it’s not true; you’re quite miserable. you thought a night out alone would be fun, that you’d flirt, maybe have someone buy you drinks, and then you could make kid jealous somehow. but it backfired. now kid is here, ruining any chance of you having that moment.
“you’re ruining my vibe,” you say hastily, making a shooing motion with your hand, one that sets him off completely.
voice low, full of dark intent, kid says, “i don’t give a fuck, we’re leaving.” and, without waiting for you to say anything else, kid, with his monstrous height and strength, wraps an arm around you and plops you onto his shoulder, giving the bartender a look that keeps him from asking kid any questions.
he intended to just have some drinks and find a way to make things right with you, but then he saw how happy you seemed, and how you didn’t even consider how he felt after you left — nevermind that he never makes it easy for you to understand anything he’s thinking anyway. your crew mates don’t bother following, knowing that kid’s anger is not to be trifled with, especially when he’s on the verge of lashing out at anyone.
you try to wiggle your way out of his grasp, but his arm holds you secure against him, your fists beating against his back in the hopes that you hit him hard enough to loosen his grip. it doesn’t work. if anything, your hits aren’t even strong enough to make him blink, let alone stop him. so you opt to use your words instead.
“what is wrong with you? you have no right to boss me around whenever you feel like it.” it’s futile, you know this; kid isn’t in the right state of mind to listen to reason, but neither are you. instead, he grunts before letting out an incredulous laugh.
“unbelievable,” he says mostly to himself, his long strides taking you away from the town, away from all the partying, and back to the ship. it’s mostly empty, save for a few people milling about, but that doesn’t stop him from walking around with you like that. you attempt to garner sympathy from your crew mates but they act as if they don’t see what’s going on; you make a face, pout, thrash about again, making it a bit difficult for him to carry you properly. so he does what makes the most sense, he slaps your ass hard.

So, for starters, her name is Hayashi Lark and she's a Sanji ship, because I do love that gruff kickass cook. A lark, if you didn't know, is a bird that's pretty well-known for its beautiful song, but also for the fact that they don't sing while in captivity. As you may imagine, there is some symbolism going on with the name here.
Lark has been a singer employed by the World Government since she was very young - her parents were both governors of a relatively large village, and when their daughter began to show serious talent with singing from a very young age, they immediately put her in vocal lessons and lessons for various different instruments, and, when they deemed her trained enough, began to trot her out to sing at public events and at get-togethers with other Government officials. When Lark was nine, her parents both died from a bad fever that had ravaged the whole village, and since she had no other family to take her in, she was given over to the care of the World Government, and several officials remembered her performing at Government dinners and were like, "You know what? Let's turn this little nine-year-old girl into a showpony!".
And so it goes - from the age of nine, Lark is shoved into pretty dresses and shipped all across the several oceans, performing at Marine bases to boost morale. Most of the songs she sings are boring and mainly focused on how brave and just all Marines are, propaganda songs written by the Government itself, but she also writes her own songs, though most of them are much too focused on freedom and rebellion for her to be allowed to sing them onstage. She's also fascinated with pirate songs and sea shanties, the kind Marines would never be allowed to sing; whenever she can escape her handlers, she'll go looking for any place in a given village she thinks might have information on them and writes down whatever lyrics and notes she can find, saving them in a beat-up notebook that she takes with her everywhere. She wants nothing more than to escape the life of borderline captivity that she's been living and learn to play and sing as many pirate songs as she can, and maybe even write some of her own, but for a very long time that feels impossible.
And this, as you may have suspected, is where Luffy and company come in. In between Syrup Village and Baratie, they dock at the village Lark is currently performing in to pick up some extra supplies and stop to see her show in the town square. They're all really taken with her voice and presence onstage, but Luffy, being Luffy, can tell that she doesn't actually want to be doing any of this, and approaches her to offer her a place on the crew, or at least to help her get away from the Government and take her someplace else. Lark immediately accepts the place on the Straw Hats - after all, what better way to learn more pirate songs that to be on an actual pirate crew? - and with some moderate difficulty, they manage to collect the few belongings Lark wants to take with her, including her notebook and guitar, and escape on the Straw Hats' ship.
Now, when they get to Baratie and Luffy winds up being taken as a chore boy, Lark offers to pay off their dinner debt by doing a show at the restaurant. Zeff doesn't want a singer in his place, but agrees to let Lark sing one song in exchange for a month off of Luffy's sentence. Lark sings one of the only pirate songs she knows in full, actually managing to quiet the whole restaurant full of rowdy pirates with her voice, and Sanji takes one look at her while she's singing and goes, Oh, I'm in love. And though finding the All Blue is still Sanji's dream and main motivation, he will admit that some part of the reason he left Baratie with the crew was wanting to get to know Lark better.
Aaaand that's about all I have for her so far!! It might be a bit before I have a proper intro post for her, but if anyone wants to ask me more questions in the meantime, feel free!!

Some head canons for Falke Wulf in the modern/classic canon because I'm a loonatic and there's no stopping me Part 1?????

Age : 17
🔹Has cursed pyrokinesis that are purple and pink flames
🔹 This is due to his father being a minion of Dark Gaia ( and one of the highest ranked, like as high as the bosses from Unleashed ) So basically he has Dark Gaia blood in his genes as well as regular wolf blood
🔹He's got the BIGGEST ego, like he truly believes he's got a natural genius of outsmarting the opponent. Full of pride and has little to zero regard to those he deems small and weak ( a lot of his ego problems is also due to insecurities and self hatred BUT LET'S NOT WORRY ABOUT THAT :D )
🔹  Has sharp teeth and will bite and chew anything and everything, whether it's his nerves, a thirst of blood or being so pissed off ( Normally seen biting Bearenger's arm in frustration, but the arm as thick as a log and for Bearenger it hurts just as much as a someone poking you with a dull stick ) 
🔹Oh yeah, Falke does have a really bad temper that comes out if he loses or if he's outwitted. This comes courtesy mostly from Tails who shows more of a genius wit, humility and skill , so he can easily be two steps forward. Because of his ego, Falke can also be very stubborn to admit he's wrong and apologizing in sincerity or admitting who really won is the equivalent to pulling teeth   
🔹Deep down, Falke's biggest fear is loneliness and the lack of self confidence. This is because as a child, he was bullied for looking like something that came from a dumpster and for his pyrokinesis being considered a curse. He also lost his mother at a very young age (  who was the only person who believed in him and showed him genuine affection ). Wendy manipulated him into believing that he was a monster meant to kill and make others suffer  and if Falke questioned anything of her authority or his past, then Wendy would resort to brainwashing over and over and over again ( picture Falke like a toy that would do the opposite of  what it was '' designed '' to do and wants free will but you keep twisting and smashing the toy to work properly with no remorse for the feelings of the toy ) The more brainwashing he receives, the more of what he truly is becomes lost and full of anxiety of the witches wrath. Every memory becomes fuzzy and unrecognizable   
🔹So anyways, Falke suffers a lot of migraines and nightmares GEE I WONDER WHY
🔹Even though Falke may look stupid, he really isn't. There have been countless times where he can outsmart and come up with a brilliant plan to any situation that calls for a rescue or a battle technique. So he is competent, just not around Tails LMAO
🔹 Enjoys pranking and teasing his sibli- UH, teammates to drive them nuts. Carrottia mostly is the one who can be the BIGGER nuisance ( and girl ) and can drive Falke nuts. Usually making fun of her brother's ego or when he gets metaphors wrong :)
🔹 THIS MAN CANNOT COOK, YOU CANNOT SAVE HIM
🔹LOVES homemade sweet desserts for a sweet tooth like him, pastries and pies especially ( mixed berry pie is the best I guess because it looks like blood lol )
🔹Suffers from messy bed hair and refuses to brush it out
🔹Undertale Bonetrousle is his main theme, that's the law, I refuse anything else ( listen to the Trombone Champ remix in particular  )

mc strikes me as a very organized person, when it comes to work stuff, and Notion is a great app for people who like organizing things and also want a relatively easy UI to traverse. theres pages and embed functions and checklists and calendars, mc loves it ALL
and she loves that Notion also allows you to customize how everything looks!! so her Notion looks something like this

having a nice Notion page helps her motivation to get things done. looking at tasks and information in a page thats Pretty can do wonders for the soul and brain <3

artem: Notion but it's absolute barren barebones
artem is also a very organized person so he enjoys Notion for the same reasons mc does.
however, he customizes 0 decorations. looks like this

barebones, straight to the point. ive always seen artem as somebody who gets visually overwhelmed when a bunch going on in terms of design. and getting overwhelmed is the opposite of what he wants to happen when working, so he keeps it simple
also, hes shit at anything art related and making a Notion page is adjacent enough to that that even if he tried, he would fail horrendously

marius Is somebody who appreciates aesthetics and is good at it, but if it's work, hes not gonna be putting effort to make that look nice, hes got his paintings and art for that!!! and since his work is Pax and NXX (which is Pax funded, i always forget that fact!) he shrugs and uses Pax's system
it's all there anyway, he doesnt have to waste time setting stuff up and time is a Finite Resource in his life and busy day to day schedules
the ony flaw of Pax Workplace isnt rlly inherent to the app itself, but to marius. cuz hes always tryna get everybody else on board in using it too in a joke-y salesman energy kind of way, and if he brings it up one more time, someones gonna SNAP

luke: just the notepad app that came with his laptop but used in the worst way possible
confession: this is how i organize stuff and im bestowing to luke not just cuz i love projecting on him but also cuz it's in character. in his personal story 3, mc mentioned that luke is such a messy person in his own space but manages to know where everything is anyway. it wouldnt be a stretch to assume this extends to a digital space too
so luke just uses the notepad app
and he keeps everything in only like 2 note files
one is called Work. the other is called Munchies. the first one is all his work notes, investigations, leads, contacts, everything. the second one is filled with all his usual takeout orders.
both of files started filled up with the thing that their name topic is, but then luke got a bit distracted and started forgetting to check which notepad he was putting shit in. so both note files ends up being like a LONG BLOCK TEXT PARAGRAPH of investigation theories and then followed by "manager’s choice large, garlic n cheese large if mc is coming over" and both files are SO GODDAMN LONG because hes been using em ever since he returned to stellis
oh and he added a 3rd new notepad that has nothing in it but the lyrics of the Agent P song from phineas and ferb but he edited it to be about peanut

fave saw trap?
OOHH oh my god okay I have so many.
Obligatory reverse bear trap mention bc who doesn’t love her, she’s mother. she is the beginning with John and Amanda and she is the end with Jill and Mark, she brings the narrative to a full circle despite her mechanical function being the opposite.
THE BATHROOM TRAP!!!!!! Obsessed with it. The shades of blue and white and the fluorescent lights, the grimy browns and greens and reds, all so absolutely beautiful together. Really pulls you into the dampness and coldness and the filth of it. Obligatory chainshipping mention also. Love those guys. Very normal about them.
the angel trap and its’ fatality is so so visually beautiful to me. she mothers extremely hard (god rest Kerry tho). truly one of the artsiest of the traps. I love the warmish shade of green in the room, and in the acid, and of course I love it contrasting with the red shade of the ribcage gore.
glass coffin for obvious reasons.. mark is soooo delicious in it with his hair all messy and his nose bleeding and his tits propped up I mean what hahah who said that . and I absolutely love the cold shade of blue it gives off, very lovely contrast with marks nosebleed also. and the whole coffinshipping thing. like it’s such a trust-based trap ironically. like, “you know what I’ve done you know who I am you know I am guilty and cannot be trusted whatsoever but will you throw away all of that and trust me anyways, is your will to survive strong enough to trust someone who ostensibly does not deserve it.” so delicious
I don’t like Jigsaw but I will admit the hot wax trap looked pretty cool, definitely one of the scariest of the movie. if you’ve ever seen 2005’s House of Wax it gives the same literally suffocating and uncomfortable feeling as Jared Padalecki’s character’s wax coating (and the horrendous peeling of it) bc you’re watching someone in such a helpless horrible position and relegated only to watching it.
the death mask is another super cool visual trap, love the green tint, love the spikes, even Michael’s eye injury looked cool! the snapping kill at the end was definitely cool too.
the nerve gas house 100% fav. I love saw 2 very dearly, both for Daniel and Amanda and for Mudvayne’s Forget To Remember song in the credits. I didn’t enjoy most of the traps in the house, mostly bc I felt like they could’ve been easily avoided or thought out better (but in the victims’ defense they were actively being poisoned) and also bc I wasn’t very attached to anyone outside of Danny and Mandy. Love the atmosphere of the house, the grime and dim fluorescence and yellow-greens (as a graphic designer warm tints like that are very good at giving off a sense of humidity and feverishness, really adds to the nerve gas poisoning and the claustrophobia of the house, too).
the horsepower trap. quick bonus for the green and yellows tints, but also I’m personally very drawn to settings with mechanical clutter. I’m not mechanically inclined in any way but visually I love looking at them and figuring out what they do. based mark for putting nazis in an inescapable trap also! the kills are deliciously brutal. the skin ripping scene, the windshield crash, the face smashing, and my absolute favorite has to be the arm/jaw yanking (specifically the jaw, idk I just think it’s neat. maybe not neat , per se, but one of those extremely gruesome things that you just can’t look away from. no pun intended it’s like a car crash).
the Mausoleum Trap. love the setting, a trap in a fucking mausoleum is metal as fuck. more traps should have spooky settings like that I think (a morgue trap would go so fucking hard also). love the colors, basically I love the entire concept but the execution could’ve bene way better (which can be said about a lot of 3D’s themes, especially the See/Hear/Speak/Do No Evil ones).

Okay! So! I already listened to all (I hope) the Holy Quintet’s character songs. Sooo I heard Mebius Ash (and Inevitabilis), Mata Ashita, Decretum (and Conturbatio), Credens Justitiam, Confessio, Naturally (which is, apparently, MadoSaya’s theme song), Yumeoto (MadoHomu’s theme song), And I’m Home (KyoSaya’s theme song), and Stairs (KyoMami’s theme song).
I love all of them (Confessio is so relaxing, Decretum and Conturbatio too; Mebius Ash is so catchy and fun, which is weird I’ll admit, and Inevitabilis hurts me SO DAMN MUCH but I love it; Credens Justitam was great and so Mami-fitting; Mata Ashita hurts; Naturally is nice; And I’m Home is WONDERFUL) but my favorite HAS to be Stairs. It’s just so nice and so freaking catchy I can NOT make it my favorite!! The voices sound SO GOOD, and hearing Mami singing provided so much more comfort than I thought. It’s BEAUTIFUL!!! I absolutely LOVE this song so much… I-I think it even ranked my most favorite out of all the songs I heard, which is strange 😅 But I can’t help it! It’s too good!!
Anyway, that’s it. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. (I was listening to Stairs writing this, and it just ended and Mebius Ash started playing at full volume LOL I absolutely love this)

Summary: Yuu finds a piano meme online and wonders if any of her fellow pianists can play it. Yoshiko believes Riko can.

Riko’s phone played a little ditty to indicate that a message had come in. However, she ignored the device in favor of continuing talking with her girlfriend across the table.
In truth, Yoshiko would not have minded if Riko had checked her phone. She knew all about the group chatroom that Riko, Maki, and Mia from the other theater, had recently formed to help Yuu learn to play the piano. With everyone experimenting with new roles in the theater, it was no surprise that Yuu was also interested in expanding her abilities to support the actors and the theater they all loved. And she was learning quickly too. Fast enough that there was talk about a new play that would see both Riko and Maki on stage while Yuu would take over the piano in the orchestra pit.
Of course, as far as Yoshiko was concerned, Yuu was nowhere near Riko’s skill, and likely would never be. And frankly, the same held true for Maki and Mia. Riko really was the best musician in the world, and not just when it came to the piano. Sure, the music demon literally had several thousand years advantage over the lamia, flame salamander, and jackalope, so there was that. But Yoshiko was also quite happily biased in favoring her girlfriend, so there was that as well.
The tiny melody played again. And again. And a fourth time.
“Yuu must have asked an interesting question.” Yoshiko suggested, nodding toward Riko’s phone as more notifications continued to come in.
“Yes, but…” Riko started.
“It’s fine, Riri.”
Riko hesitated for another moment before finally picking up her phone and unlocking the screen. She scrolled up through the conversation to find where she had left off. Her brow furrowed.
“What’s up?” Yoshiko asked.
“Yuu found a video and is asking if it is possible for the song to be played on a real piano, not just a digital one.”
“Can it?”
“Well, a properly enchanted piano can play anything.”
“Would that still count?”
“I’m not sure.”
Yoshiko grinned. “I’m sure Riri can play anything.”
Pink dusted Riko’s cheek, which was exactly the reaction Yoshiko had sought. “Uhm, not exactly.”
“Oh?”
“My abilities exceed the physical capabilities of the highest quality instruments of this realm.” Riko admitted, somewhat sheepishly. “So I can only play mortal music here.”
Yoshiko resisted the urge to chastise her girlfriend for her continued embarrassment over her amazing skills when it came to music. “Well yeah, obviously.” She decided to say instead. “Riri is a music demon after all. But isn’t your piano made from Infernal materials, so it can handle anything you play on it?”
“Well yes.” Riko confirmed. “Mine could handle the full power of Amdusias himself.”
Yoshiko chuckled and nodded. “So anyway, are you going to watch the video?”
“It would be rude for me to…”
Yoshiko sighed and slid out from her side of the booth. “It’s not rude if I watch it with you, right?” She asked as she slipped in beside her girlfriend. “You’ve got me curious now anyway.”
“Alright.” Riko agreed before tapping the Play button.
The video, titled RUSH E, was fairly simplistic as it displayed a piano keyboard at the bottom that would play notes as colorful bars dropped from the top. It looked like something a new pianist might use to learn how to play, which was likely why Yuu had watched it. The melody sounded like it could pass as an old video game theme, like one of the classic puzzle games or something similar. And it was quite catchy.
Then it sped up.
And more bars dropped at the same time.
Yoshiko wasn’t an expert pianist by any stretch of the imagination, but even she knew that barely more than a minute in, the song had reached a point where more than two hands would be needed to play. This was apparently not the beginner’s song she had assumed it to be. Still, it was probably within the realm of capability for a skilled…
“E!”
Yoshiko startled as a deep voice belted out of the tiny speaker of Riko’s phone. She then balked as letters started dropping down the screen to be played by the keys at the bottom. It was spelling out the title of the tune. And the R was backwards. Maybe the composer was Russian? That might explain the style of the melody. Still, what kind of twisted composer would try to make a pianist play such a strange thing?
By now, something like half a dozen colors were being used, striking at least a dozen notes simultaneously. Yoshiko wondered how even someone as talented as Riko could play such a piece. She only had two hands after all. Could she play with her wings to hit extra keys? Maybe her tail? Yoshiko smiled as she imagined the scenario; she loved Riko’s wings and tail after all, and wished the demon would let them be seen more often.
As the song reached what Yoshiko assumed was the climax, it looked like the entire screen was filled with colorful bars and nearly all of the keys were being hit at once. Surprisingly the melody could still be singled out amid the cacophony.
Finally, a pixelated image of some guy with glowing eyes dropped. When it hit the keys, E was belted out again and the piece came to an end.
Yoshiko wasn’t sure if she should laugh at the obvious joke or ask Yuu how serious she was about thinking such a piece could actually be played. Then she noticed the serious expression on Riko’s face.
“Riri?”
“I think I know who wrote this.” Riko said. “Or at least who likely inspired it. Торопиться. He was a bit of a trickster and enjoyed tormenting humans with unplayable songs.”
“So, it is unplayable.”
“For a human, yes. For a demon, no.”
“Really?” Yoshiko couldn’t help asking. “I know I said Riri could play anything earlier, but this…”
“It isn’t even the most chaotic piece he’s written.”
“Wow… I kinda wanna see that now…”
“We can head to my place?” Riko suggested.
“Yeah, let’s do that.” Yoshiko found herself getting excited. Far be it for her to turn down an opportunity to watch Riko play, and visit her girlfriend’s apartment.
Since Yoshiko’s apartment was closer to the theater where both women worked, they had come to spend more time there. Riko still liked to drop by her apartment to play her piano from time to time and Yoshiko usually joined her. However, it felt like forever since they had done that. Perhaps it was time to start thinking about finding a bigger place to more in together?
Yoshiko flagged down Rin and grabbed their bill from her. She couldn’t wait to witness Riko’s full musical might.

“Y-Yocchan… what are you…?”
“The others are going to want to see this.” Yoshiko explained as she checked the settings on her phone.
Part of her wished she had thought to stop by her place to pick up some of the gear she used for streaming, specifically a better camera and microphone. And something upon which to mount both. As it was, her phone, with her holding it, would have to do.
“I’m not going to upload the video anywhere public,” Yoshiko assured, “just send it directly to your fellow pianists. And of course keep it for my own viewing later.” She smirked as she added the last part.
“A… alright…” Riko agreed hesitantly before raising the fallboard of her piano. She then set her phone on the music rack as she would be using the muted video there as her score.
Riko closed her eyes and took a slow, deep breath. Then, after holding it for a few seconds, she let it out and opened her eyes. Finally, she summoned her wings and held her hands over the keys.
Ah, so Riri is going to use her demonic power. Yoshiko thought to herself excitedly.
A soft pink, but powerful aura radiated off Riko’s wings and the music demon began to play. Tendrils of the aura drifted toward the piano as the song approached the part where more than two hands would be needed. The infernal energy seemed to solidify into the additional digits as it neared the keys.
Yoshiko watched in awe as the multitude of hands slid through each other to play the parts Riko’s mind had assigned to them. Additionally, she noted that the keyboard itself had gained its own ethereal counterpart that allowed simultaneous keystrokes.
Granted, it wasn’t fair to compare the sound from a real instrument to what could be produced by a phone speaker, but the piece sounded so much better live that Yoshiko almost wished the others could hear it in the same way.
By the time the piece had reached its climax, Riko’s aura had engulfed the entire piano and it sounded like she was playing no less than a dozen instruments. And Yoshiko could hear each one distinctly.
Then, all too soon, the piece was over. Yoshiko blinked back to reality and fumbled to stop the recording.
“That was amaz… Riri?!” Yoshiko dropped her phone and rushed to her girlfriend’s side. The demon’s wings had been dismissed and the demonic aura had completely disappeared, leaving Riko to wobble, almost drunkenly on the bench. “Are you alright?”
“I’m… fine…” Riko replied, letting herself lean against the standing woman. “It’s just been a while since I’ve used so much power at once.” She smiled wistfully. “It felt really good though. I should play like that more often…”
Yoshiko let herself relax and wrapped her arms around Riko’s shoulders. “I’d love to be your audience when you do.”
“Mmm…” Riko hummed, placing a hand on Yoshiko’s arm. She then startled as a loud growl emanated from her stomach. “Ehh…”
Yoshiko chuckled. “Since you’re not in Hell, you can’t just naturally recharge, can you.”
Riko hung her head, and while Yoshiko couldn’t see her face from this angle, she knew she was blushing.
“Shall we head back to the Kousaka Kafe?”
Riko looked up, confused. “But we were just there?”
Yoshiko nodded. “Right, but Riri is hungry again after burning so much energy.” She patted her girlfriend’s shoulder before moving to pick up her phone. “Thankfully, Honoka makes the best food for celestial recharging, although it’s not on the normal menu… for obvious reasons… Anyway, if we’re gonna have her pull out the secret stuff, I may as well pick up something for Phobetor and the others.”
Riko furrowed her brow as she stood. “Envy eats?”
“Sorta. You’ll see.” Yoshiko tapped at her screen. “Lemme just send the video to the others… There we go.” She looked back up at Riko. “Let’s head out.”
Riko nodded and the couple headed for the door. However, by the time they had put on their shoes, both of their phones were chiming.
“Seems everyone is amazed and envious of Riri’s prowess on the piano.” Yoshiko commented, pleased by the incoming praise for her girlfriend. “Oh, and Yuu wants to bring Setsuna and Ayumu over to see a live performance someday soon.”
“Setsuna-chan seems excited.” Riko replied, reading more messages.
“That girl gets excited over everything.”
A bemused expression crossed Riko’s face.
“Riri?”
“It looks like there are other versions of RUSH E; a 2 and a 3. Yuu-chan says they get even more impossible to play.”
“But Riri can play them of course.”
“Probably.”
“Well, perhaps we should have Honoka make a to go box to prepare for the RUSH RIRI concert.”
“… Do we have to call it that?”
Yoshiko simply smiled in return. She knew she couldn’t blame Setsuna for her excitement as she was also looking forward to another demonic piano performance. But first, Riko needed to recharge. Thus, Yoshiko grabbed her girlfriend’s hand and led her out of the apartment and toward the café.

Author's Note Continued: First and foremost, if you haven't witnessed the chaotic wonderment meme that is RUSH E, do look it up on YouTube, if for no other reason than to better know what Riko is playing here. I'd link it here, but apparently that breaks the ability for this post to be found via searches or whatever.
Anyway, geez... it's February already... And since I haven't written anything since Promptober, that means it's been a little over three months. Well, I have written some stuff, just haven't posted anything. I've worked on some WIPs a little bit here and there but haven't finished anything. Heck, I started this scene shortly after Christmas. But that's just the winter season at work I guess, sapping my energy and concentration and the like.
But on to happier topics. I know I've written several scenes in Happy Life about Riko being supportive of Yohane in all of her oddities. PoH changes their dynamic a little bit. Yohane is more confident, due in no small part to actually knowing she is a fallen angel, but also not having to suppress her feelings for Riko for fear of possibly stealing her away from Chika; spoilers? maybe? Also Riko is far more timid here, being quite self conscious about being a demon and worrying that others may fear her or be biased against her because of her nature. I think this lends well to writing scenes about Yohane being supportive of Riko. Obviously, I'll still write supportive Yohane scenes in HL, but I just find it a little easier to write a Yohane who happily brags to the world about her amazing girlfriend in this AU than in my portrayal of the couple in my canon-compliant'ish work.
Finally, I feel like I may have rushed the end a little bit; pun intended? But I did want to get this posted before the newly announced event in IFH. Here's hoping that stirs up my µ's muse a bit and I can get back into the swing of writing. So many WIPs to finish, so many ideas for new ones, so little time...

Chainsaw Man Endings Ranked
A bit weird maybe, but even though I'm a huge fan of the Chainsaw Man manga, the part I found the most interesting about the anime was the new endings each week. They provided fresh direction and cool animation, and boasted more creativity in a handful of scenes on average than what the anime was able to convey in an entire episode (though that's a topic for later). Anyways, I'm going to rank from worst to best because it's no fun seeing what the favorite is off the bat.
Ending 6 - Cerebral Rendezvous by Kanaria

I'll be honest, there's nothing to it. The song is alright, but there's nothing else going on. It's a theme and approach that we've already seen, but this is markedly, noticeably, and empirically worse. It's got hardly any animation and it dances around like it's doing something. The music makes it at least bearable to sit through, but it has almost nothing going for it.
Ending 11 - Violence By Queen Bee

Queen Bee certainly has a bias in their musical style, and it works well in stuff like their opening for Raven of The Inner Palace. For Chainsaw Man though? It's a very tough sell, and when you have what amounts to an aimless and odd music video alongside it... you don't really get anything of value. In a way, it's more disinteresting than ED6 because of the pairing of song and visuals, but this ending at least moves, even if it's weird and has no real theme or purpose to it.
Ending 1 - Chainsaw Blood by Vaundy

So this is third from last purely because of Vaundy's great showing on the song. He has quite a bit of range and makes full use of it, even if the visuals are just scenes from the anime. At the very least, it has a decent enough theme and forms a solid enough pair. It has something to it, even if it's incredibly low effort visually. If not for Vaundy though, this ending would be rock bottom just due to pure laziness.
Ending 2 - Remaining Lives by Zutomayo

I really love Zutomayo's music, and I really enjoy their music videos. But a cut and paste of their music and music videos is not a Chainsaw Man ending. It's creative, it's fun, and it's absolutely Zutomayo, but it's relation to Chainsaw Man is purely the characters. It reflects almost nothing of the sentiment or themes and is just free advertisement for Zutomayo. Which is kind of a shame because they had potential to come in and offer a solid gap between episode and ending, but instead resulted in a neither here nor there insert for the artist/band. It's a good music video, but it's not a good Chainsaw Man ending.
Ending 12 - Fight Song by Eve

Simply put, there's nothing to it. It's creatively limp, it has nothing unique to offer and attempts to go largely nowhere with the big send off for the first season of Chainsaw Man. Eve lends a really solid song to the finale, but ultimately nothing is done with it, which is depressing given the quality and creativity of Eve's own music videos. At the minimum though it attempts to be Chainsaw Man, and is well animated, but that's about all that can be said about it visually.
Ending 9 - Deep Down by Aimer

Some really impressive visuals here, and some really solid work out of Aimer in spots, but it feels like it misses the point. It's more akin to a music video, or animated short than an ending. It's showing off with its animation and telling a story of Himeno's death, and it's really pretty. But it feels out of place. It's getting closer to a "proper" Chainsaw Man ending, and it's really enjoyable and far closer than prior endings on this list, but it's just not quite there. Something's missing, and it's hard to put your finger on it, though I will say Aimer's song (personally speaking) is a far cry from their best work Dare Ka, Umi Wo.
Ending 10 - DOGLAND by PEOPLE 1

This is where the boys are separated from the men in terms of endings. The shift in approach and style is far greater and reaches deeper into the Pochita-shaped heart of Chainsaw Man. And I'll admit, it's grown on me a great deal since it aired. I wasn't really for it, and was even going to put it beneath ED9, but re-watching it, the ending grabbed me. It goes really far to be odd (and even provide a healthy amount of spoilers), and the song by PEOPLE 1 helps sell it a great deal. It's a very chill yet wildly nonsensical ending that takes as much from Chainsaw Man as it takes from its randomness. Really, I might even consider this spot a tie between ED10 and ED7
Ending 7 - Chu, Tayousei by Ano

This was a really fun and creative ending. Taking both from the time period Chainsaw Man is from, and the feel of the episode overall, its a memorable, creative, and very much so gross ending. The music made exactly for a specific sequence, the unique approach of a classic video game/CRT feel was refreshing, and it even borrows from the community surrounding Chainsaw Man. It has a little something for everyone, and establishes a unique direction and approach in the process. Really, nothing to complain about and outside of the very top endings of the season, can comfortably sit anywhere on anyone's list.
Ending 8 - First Death by TK

Now, I know I'm upsetting a lot of people putting this ending here, and in a way it pains me as well. But, the top 3 just have an entirely different appeal. This ending's really cool, it's really well done, but it's at risk of being derivative and it's not even as unique as the ending director's other ending for Chainsaw Man. To explain a bit, I'm sure JJK fans will understand what I mean by similar, specifically in regards to OP2 of the first season. This ending is incredibly cool and enjoyable, but so much of it follows a similar blueprint to Shingo Yamashita's rendition of it. The walking, the character posing, the musical breakdown that leads to dynamic action. It's very much a JJK OP2 in a different skin. If that's my complaint then why's it so high, you might ask. Well, because it's still a damn good ending, the visuals are still impressively well done and TK kills the song. It's just that it's something that feels similar to what I've seen before so I don't think it's incredibly outstanding.
Ending 4 - Tablet by TOOBOE

Coincidentally, this was the other ending directed by Yuuki Kamiya alongside ED8, and this one is incredibly unique. It's got the sole animator's feel to it thanks to the storyboarding they did, and is just an all around great time. The weird and wild work with Power meshes wonderfully with the odd and catchy song TOOBOE provides. It's a little more limited and small-scale than ED8, but the creative work is just so ridiculously eye-catching. It borrows from the manga, from additional drawings from Fujimoto, from bonus material, basically anything regarding Power to just give fans of the series and character an ending of their own. The insanity and how all over the place the work is just sells itself so well, from the dance routine of power to the nurse outfit to the rejection of vegetables. It knows at every moment what it wants to do to make this ending hilarious and incredibly memorable.
Ending 5 - The Back Room by Syudou

This ending really is something else. Taking a pair of themes in the first motion picture (which featured a horse running) and borrowing intense surrealism in art through various artists, it's something that screams Chainsaw Man despite having almost no direct connection. Start to finish insanity that speaks from between the lines and through purely visuals to produce something that you could spend hours breaking down. The appeal of it really is impossible to put into words, but it's by far the (second) best ending of Chainsaw Man, and a serious contender as a top ending of the year in general.
Ending 3 - 200 Million Centimeter Long Blades by Maximum The Hormone

Let's be real, no other ending even stood a chance. Maximum The Hormone, and the animation team/studio behind this ending were just entirely incomparable. The elation, the fear, the confusion, the insanity, everything was on an entirely different level. The visuals don't even have a peer in the rest of the endings of Chainsaw Man, let alone the endings of the year. It is pure, distilled, unadulterated Chainsaw Man. Through and through. It is the personification of the thoughts and ideas that punctuate how readers see the series. It still blows my mind how easily Maximum The Hormone switch up styles not one, but twice in the ending and the visuals and appeal keep up perfectly. It's just everything Chainsaw Man, and it's entirely unbeatable.

15 for Reggie ship of your choice?
Reggie is more surprised than anyone to be invited to Carrie Wilson's holiday party. But there's an invitation with his name on it in Carrie's distinctive pink scrawl waiting in his locker, so he figures it's not a prank.
Thankfully the band is also invited, and when he asks Julie about it, she shrugs saying that she and Carrie were on friendly enough terms now, so she wasn't going to snub the invite. They gather together and put on some nicer clothes, all festive colours and fun holiday themed socks. Reggie loves the adorable Santa Grogu socks that Flynn found him, and is delighted to find out that they came in a three pack, with Flynn winking that he might just get the other two pairs come Christmas.
They arrive at the Wilson's Malibu mansion, absolutely bedecked with lights just as the party is supposed to start. An actual butler opens the door, even if his bowtie is red and green plaid instead of the usual black. They follow the sound of the music, and find the party in full swing.
The Dirty Candi girls are milling around with the lacrosse team, some of the cheerleaders leading a holiday themed karaoke in the corner. There's tables of food and drinks, and the whole house looks like Christmas exploded on it. Reggie honestly feels kind of lame in his nicer red flannel with his tin of cookies clutched in his hands.
Carrie flounced over to them, greeting them all, then stops when Reggie thrusts the tin at her, avoiding her gaze as he blushes. "My MeeMaw said you should always bring the hostess a gift for parties. It's just some shortbreads and sugar cookies."
"My favourites!" Carrie exclaimed, and Reggie heard the faint tinkle of bells, finally turning to look at her and he had to stop. Because Carrie Wilson, one of the most fashionable people he knows (never telling Flynn he thinks that, by the way) is wearing an ugly Christmas sweater.
It is a bright vibrant green, and covered in pom-poms and bells in the shape of a tree. Her skirt is a cheery red colour and lined with golden tinsel and falls just above her knees, leading down to her candy cane striped socks and honest to goodness pointed toe elf shoes.
Carrie notices him eyeing her outfit and gives a little twirl, her bells ringing as she does. "Don't you just love my outfit?"
"It's very uh, festive," Reggie replies.
"I'm bummed I didn't wear my sweater just like that one," Luke snickers, earning him an elbow to the side from Julie. The group exchange pleasantries for a bit before going to get some snacks (Julie, Luke, and Flynn), or to the dance floor (Alex and Willie), leaving Reggie alone with Carrie.
"Were... were we supposed to wear ugly sweaters?" Reggie asks.
"Nah, I just wanted to," Carrie replied. "It's the one time of the year I can get away with wearing something so deranged and not get judged about it. Plus it's kind of fun making music wherever I go."
"You do that anyways," Reggie said. "You're always humming under your breath in class, coming up with your next hit song. Or singing along quietly as you go through the halls."
Carrie looks at him then, a faint flush appearing on her cheeks. "I didn't think anyone noticed."
"I tend to notice a lot about you," Reggie admitted. "You try to appear really aloof, but I dunno, I think you have a soft side. The outfit kind of proves it."
"What else does it prove?" Carrie asked, a smile gracing her features.
"Well, you definitely have a whimsical side, and I don't know if you made it, or you designed it, but I bet you did, you're so creative. It's you. A little musical, a little goofy, and very over the top. But... you do look good in it."
Carrie took a step closer, running a gentle finger from his collar bone to the pocket of his flannel. "You look good too."
"I look like I always do though?" Reggie said, confused. Carrie smiled even wider and Reggie bit his lip as he blushed, realizing what she meant. "You wanna go eat the cookies I brought and then maybe dance?"
"Sounds good," Carrie replied. "I know the best spot too, come on." She dragged them towards the kitchen, out of view. And if she caught Reggie under the mistletoe there, well he didn't mind one bit about the pit stop. Nor did he mind that they spent more time there than on the dance floor.
All he cared about was the taste of Carrie mixed with the flavour of his cookies, and the way her laughter echoed the bells on her sweater whenever they embraced.

4. Is there a song you love but don't like its music video?
tbh i don't watch music videos a lot, so most songs i like either i don't know the music video, think the music video was "just okay", or actively like the music video. however if i could just platform my younger self for a minute, i remember back when i was super into melanie martinez in like 2015/2016 i came up with my own idea for the mrs potato head music video and i got so mad when the official music video came out that i fully stopped listening to her music for years lmao i still think my concept was better.
6. Who's an artist you really like but are embarrassed to admit it?
the first one that comes to mind is ajr. like tbh every single criticism people have of their music is 100% correct but also neotheater came out at the exact moment for me to be earnestly emotionally connected to it so i'm always gonna love it even if i roll my eyes at some of the songs. however tbh i don't listen to their other albums as much anymore
ok fuck it i feel the need to rant about ok orchestra bc i have a LOT of opinions. this is going to be such a tangent but when will i get this opportunity again? anyway
brief intermission as i rant about an album i haven't listened to in years
one thing i actually love that ajr does is how most of their albums start with an overture mashup of most of the album's main motifs, blending them together and sometimes doing a variation with different time signatures. the only thing i love more than this that they do is how big and grand their closing songs are. take the click: we get a full overture as the beginning, and the final song "come hang out" feels like a finale. the bridge switching to 3/4 in an otherwise 4/4 song??? the conflict of going after your passions while sacrificing your relationships despite the other person having different priorities embodied in the backup singers??? idc if ajr is cringy it's a well made song.
now, notably neotheater does not follow this formula. it starts straight in with "next up forever," but this is actually the best move since next up forever is a near perfect album opener. is it a near perfect song? oh god no. my 16-year-old self thought it was for sure, but relistening now there's a few lyrics where i'm like "jfc why are they like this." but for now lyricism doesn't matter bc no matter what you think about ajr's lyrics, their composition is what i'm focusing on and it's generally pretty good. next up forever contains choir vocals a la a vintage disney movie, a slow build before exploding into a drum beat channeling the anxiety and anticipation the song is focused on. a lot of the themes (both lyrical and musical) are present in all the other songs on this album, so despite not being an overture in the traditional sense it perfectly balances giving us a taste of what's to come while also standing on its own as a song you can listen to separate from the full album context. but most importantly, it coheres with the final song so fucking well. the last song on the album "finale (can't wait to see what you do next)" continues this exact same theme, with the most similar instrumentation to the album opener out of this set of song, while still distinctly standing on its own. it genuinely feels like this album was a full exploration of standing on the precipice of your career, and the singer reaches a moment of clarity on the last lines of the song. seriously, i'm embarrassed to admit i still get chills from "if it's my final album / and if i am forgotten / i hope i made you smile / that's all i ever wanted"
(ngl i honestly kind of wish this was ajr's final album bc what a note to go out on. also bc this was the last time i was in the exact space in my life where i could 100% unironically feel seen in an ajr album)
but then we have ok orchestra: the much anticipated follow-up to neotheater. we get the return of an overture, mixing together some of the biggest hits on the album (of course it helps that the chorus of "bang bang bang" and "way less sad" are basically the same). idk, maybe it's just because i grew out of my ajr phase by the time this was released and was still in denial about it, but something about this overture just doesn't hit. it doesn't feel as much like it exists for a reason as the click's overture. the click substantially modified these songs' tempo/time signature to fit together, and by starting with the simple metronome (the titular click) and the repeated calls of "come hang out, don't you leave us behind" it immediately gives us the thesis statement of the album, what it's all trying to say. ok orchestra just,,, doesn't do that??? it's like ok cool the songs fit together and i'm gonna hear longer versions soon. what about it.
but that doesn't say anything about the main reason i don't like this album: christmas in june. after 2 great album closers, a lot is resting on the final song of this album to put it all in perspective and make sure it coheres, and christmas in june just doesn't do that. there's no sense of finality, no deeper focus on the central theme of the album (which is????). and ok. christmas in june is a fine song, i get the message of it (trying to balance the pursuit of success in your art with your personal relationships) but WE'VE DONE THIS ALREADY. this is the whole point of come hang out, and it explored it with some great tension and interesting instrumentation!!! but compared to that song, christmas in june just feels very shallow. and the instrumentation definitely is the main reason for this. since i hadn't listened to the song in a while, i misremembered it as being acoustic bc it's so scaled back, but it's not acoustic. that would've at least been an artistic choice. it's just quiet. it does not feel like an album closer at all, it feels like a fine little variation in the middle tracks which might be referenced in the finale, which is coming any second now, right?
but tbh the lack of a satisfactory narrative conclusion and quieter production don't inherently make it a bad song. i mean, let's compare this to bleachers' most recent album closer "what do i do with all this faith?" while the previous two bleachers albums contained an interlude called "i'm ready to move on" which led us directly into their finales, this album isn't ready to move on. and sure, this is probably my least favorite bleachers album of the three (tho tbh it's hard for anything to top strange desire and gone now), i still appreciate this (actually acoustic) ending a lot for its recognition that sometimes you don't get an ending to your emotional arc. it still fits sonically with the rest of the album (which is also generally scaled-back and guitar focused), and it fits thematically with the rest of the lyrics
but the thing that makes me dislike christmas in june most is that it doesn't commit to the bit. see, each ajr album has kind of a "gimmick" that ties it together. these gimmicks aren't present on every song, but they're present on the beginning and ending and several moments in between. "the click" had the integration of string sections with electronic music, which doesn't always work but is an interesting choice. neotheater has the aforementioned choir, as well as this general old musical feeling (side note doesn't birthday party sample fucking eraserhead???). what does ok orchestra have? the closest thing i can identify is pitch-shifting vocals, most notably on "the trick". generally i do not like it when this gimmick is implemented, and it's very telling that my favorite song from ok orchestra (and the only one i listened to in the past year) is 3 o'clock things, which feels like a holdover from neotheater thanks to its choir returning. but as much as i was annoyed by the pitch shifting, if they'd just stuck the landing and used it in the final song, it would have at least felt whole. but they never used it again. i guess you can argue that christmas in june leaving me feeling empty inside was intentional bc the song itself is about this stressful feeling of being spread too thin, but i don't think this lack of resolution is what ajr was going for. i think they wanted that last line about a hypothetical kid to hit as hard as dear winter (which, yes, i'm embarrassed to admit, i still actually kind of love) but it doesn't.
idk, maybe i'm being too hard on ok orchestra, or maybe i'm not being hard enough on the earlier albums. or maybe this is mostly a case of sometimes the music you love in 10th grade isn't the same music you love in your third year at university, and it sucks to confront that. even if ajr releases another album soon that lives up to neotheater, idk if i'll even listen to it more than once since i've discovered new music since that also does all the things i used to love about ajr but much better. but idk. there's still a part of me that wishes ok orchestra was at least a bit more cohesive, especially when i hear so many people who both love and hate ajr saying it's the best thing they've ever written. justice for neotheater

there are some fantastic choices you can kinda tell who listens to what via vibes , even though obviously no i couldnt actually figure out that marc listens to will smith. but there is a VERY clear switch between steven music, marc music, jake music, plot music, setting music, show mystery atmosphere music, etc. even their mercenary background,
this is only somewhat related to the playlist, but i didnt realize that My Way Of Life was the song that jake was playing in the last scene, and then when you put frontier psychiatrist in there, did yoy know that that song is sampled in there. the That Boy Needs Therapy song. sampling the song that was playing when jake makes his appearance at khonshu's behest, a song that is all in one an admission of defeat, a prayer, and a claim. can i speak to the directors was this on purpose (shaking someone wildly by the shoulders)

This whole playlist is very much my personal music taste both old and new so I’m so glad other people love it too. Like I’m 20 and I’ve been listening to some of these songs since middle school (and one since elementary school….”awoken” LOL) and some is my more recent music taste
So anyway without further ado, here is some of my personal favorite moments on the playlist, I’ll try to keep it in order, strap in.
MISCELLANEOUS
• Nutcracker suite Arabian dances: im very much a classical lover as you can probably tell by now but this has always been my favorite classical piece. It’s just sooooo “I’m tired and injured and trudging through the desert under the light of the full moon. I’m exhausted but I have to keep going” love itttttt
• Leopard: this song is literally always switching up!! Just like moon knight lol. One moment it’s sad and slow, next moment it’s anxious and fast, and then it’s smooth and chill. Need I say more.
MARC
• Back from the dead: “BLOW, YA TAKIN 2 SHOTS TO YA CHEST”
• Hunter: this one is very special to me cause it’s probably my favorite song of all time at the moment. It’s sort of the same deal with the nutcracker suite where it’s like you just have to keep on marching and do what you can to survive cause there’s not really a home you can go back to. It feels lonely, ghostly, desolate, and steadfast. So marc and so knightly. “I tried to organize freedom- you sussed it out didn’t you? You could smell it so you left me on my own, to complete the mission, now I’m leaving it all behind.” Very him and Khonshu am I right or am I right. HES GOING HUNTING. HES THE HUNTER!
• Pluto: this is a more recent addition, it’s just so visceral and violent. Like Marc! I also specifically added the live version with the strings cause it sounds so much moreee. Unhinged? Enraged? “Excuse me, I just have to explode this body” “I’ll wake up tomorrow brand new, a little tired, but brand new” just like going to bed as maRC AND WAKING UP AS STEVEN CMONNNNNN
• Dirty Harry: mercenary days marc moment
• mercure scene 1, la nuit: same thing as nutcracker suite and hunter. WE GOTTA KEEP MOVING EVEN THO WE’RE SO TIRED
• Off with his head: middle school classic of all time to me. It’s so “ugh. Gotta kill all these people to sate this ancient gods will. Sorry, I promise I don’t want to 😬”
• Awoken: relistening to old mlp fandom songs I used to love when I was little and then realizing one of them fit Marc Spector of all characters actually incredibly well felt like unearthing an ancient cursed relic. I literally still cannot believe it
• All the Will Smith songs: Marc speeds on the highway when he drives. And when he does, he’s blasting this. Also he doesn’t like any other musician besides will smith. He has literally had the exact same music taste since 1997 #comfortmusic
• Get out of my house: MARC IS THE HOUSE.
• All the love: the phone calls. THE PHONE CALLS. Did I mention the phone calls? The sighs too UGH. I’m imagining Marc coming back to that storage locker and listening to all the voicemails Steven had left him thinking he was calling their mom. Also am I crazy thinking the last “good night” sounds EXACTLY like Steven?
• Sandpaper kisses: “your gonna a leave her. You have deceived her. Just a girl, with featherweight curls” Layla 😭
• The moon/ Awake: EVERY. LYRIC. HITS. It fits the relationship between him and Steven amazingly. “When sins of sons to fathers come, too heavy is the weight. THE SPIRIT SPLIT IN TWO” <- when I heard that while looking for songs to add to this playlist my jaw dropped. ITS TOO REAL
STEVEN
• Ok let’s go: the moon/ awake to ok let’s go is the transition from Marc to Steven. It’s basically Steven being like “is this too much to take? That’s ok, I’ll take it from here” like he’s there to put Marc’s pieces back together after everything. It’s stevens introduction bc that’s his purpose after all. He’s picking up where Marc left off
• Diary: Goldfish problem vibes. “Dear diary, What a day it’s been. Dear Diary, it’s been just like a dream” “at night I can’t sleep, I toss and turn” also the guy is British so that’s a plus
• the miku song (I can’t type Japanese) : Steven grant anime opening. He’s running late to work with toast in his mouth
• COUNT THOSE FREAKS: literally episode 2. Mr knight vs that jackal vibes
• Sinking feeling, Only dreaming: I’m gonna lump these 2 together cause they have the same gist. Steven realizing that he isn’t completely alone and those strange occurrences and dreams are much much much more than they seem. His life is a lie! Poor man’s being put through the mental ringer.
• Linger a while: It’s just so british sounding you know what I mean? It’s so Steven nervously plodding along
•Oivomaintnt: steven grant walking simulator
• Wake up ( it’s 1984): “two worlds apart, BUT SO!! CLOSE!!!!!!”
• Is anybody here?: ohhhhohhh so Steven. Everything abt it is so perfect but here’s my fav lyrics “I left my soul exposed to frail hands who hold my fate up in the air.” Aka khonshus spindly witch fingers. “Waking in the afternoon, a captive in a passive tomb, moments turn to long Decembers, stoking fires from dying embers. I try To move a limb, but there's a disconnect within. A devil in the alchemy. A phantom staring back at me.ITS YOUUUUU” disassociation moment. He is quite literally slipping out of consciousness and losing days or even months of time. Also….a phantom….OR A SPECTOR
• Steal away: ok I lied this is the one song that’s based off vibes. It’s just Steven what can I say
• It only takes a moment, somethin stupid, might tell you tonight: HES FALLING IN LOVE FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME 😭😭😭
• Ghost: Steven being like “hey maybe actually not being alone isnt so bad :)” again, a ghost….OR A SPECTOR! Ehhhhhh? ;D
JAKE
• you belong to me: Marc and Steven may be free, but Jake? mmmm not so much :/ wherever they go, whatever they do, he still belongs to Khonshu.
• What you won’t do for love: “I guess you wonder where I’ve been”
• Desalento: I don’t speak Portuguese so I don’t exactly know what this song is about but it’s just so Jake vibes. Esp near the end
• The most cursed hands/ who am I: first part is cool but disregard it. The real reason why I added it is at the very end. “Who am I? Just a gambler, holding aces in the devil's eyes. What is wrong? What's the sin? Where's the answer? Where the hell do I fit in? Or could it be, there's just a little demon lost in the debris? And I, should idly bide my time until a wager releases me” cmonnnn that is so good. Where does jake fit in in all this? Steven and Marc are already a team but Jake is disconnected from them, where does he go in the story? Also the little demon lost in the debris is KHONSHU, they thought they defeated him but heyyyy he’s still there just in secret now. And what can Jake do but follow his orders till he’s released! “It can’t remain unknown” his existence can’t stay hidden forever! Also the vibes at this part are just so suave and Jakey.
• how I could just kill a man: marc and steven are soooo free and don’t have to do shit anymore but guess who’s left to do all the dirty work now? JAKE! And he’s pissed! “When your up on the hill in your big home, I’m out here riskin my dome”
• Vroom Vroom: obligatory
• Tardigrade song: Jake lockley is one tough son of a bitch. He can take pretty much everything you throw at him, since that is literally his purpose. He wakes up after years of hibernation, kicks ass in the most inhospitable conditions imaginable, then goes to sleep again. Just like a tardigrade!
• We fly high: I have this image in my head of Jake rolling up to an avengers meeting and you can hear this from the parking lot blasting in the moon knight mobile before he gets out and slams the door. They’re all looking down at him from the window like “ughhhh who invited that guy” “not me” “me neither” “I think he just invited himself” *door bursts open* “eyyyy fugeddaboutit” It’s like his theme song to me, it’s what plays when he rolls up into frame wearing sunglasses. He’s just balling. Simple as. Steven: ouch! He bit me!😰 Jake: no I didn’t 😎😏
Freebird: and what a perfect way to end the playlist. Wow look you made it way to go, now let’s make our car do flips and donuts in the avengers office parking lot 🥳🙌
