Chronos: Jisedai Hanzai Jouhoushitsu Chapter 4
Hello,
So.... we have two new projects and this is the first chapter of one of them. The other one will have its first upload soon.
Also, the magazine with the Mujihi chapter will be available on the 14th of April, so I will start working on that next.
I've been trying to struck up a friendship with Photoshop lately. What do you think? I hope my editing/cleaning/typesetting skills will improve in the future.
A new thing I'm trying out is to tag the people who requested a series on our first release (which is something I can't do if you did it anonymously), so for this one: @gothicavenue @decenttheorist @crosscurls @smoothberries @cla0d
I hope you'll like it. The next volume I will buy alongside the HanaOto magazine, so I won't be able to start working on it until the middle of the month.
Enjoy,
H.

someone's probably already pointed this out already, but shigaraki said the same thing that bakugo said to deku before he was taken by the league:
ch. 82 bakugo: 来んな
ch. 416 shigaraki: 来るなあ

Regarding tenzu tablets:
Tumblr media
Caption reads: "Ottoman drugs containing rhubarb, cinnamon, mastic gum, Chinese tumeric, amber, musk, balm of Gilead, Meccan myrrh, white pepper, opium, rose water, cast into moulds & inscribed with healing incantations, 16C". Credited with a link to Yasmine Seale, on social media.
Original linked source doesn't mention where these particular tablets/molds were created, kept, displayed, etc. But I wanted to learn more and found a kinda recent summary of tenzu which was published by Nil Sarı (head of History of Medicine and Ethics Department at Istanbul University's Cerrahpasha medical school, president of Health History and Museology Association), which was presented at a conference in 2016:
Nil Sarı. "The Special Pharmaceutical Tablet “Tenzu” in Ottoman Medicine.” 7th International Congress for History of Islamic Medicine, October 24-28, Fez, Morocco, 2016: 24-28.
An excerpt of the text:
In Ottoman Turkish tenzu (tensuh) means "very rare beautiful thing" or "a box containing a variety of fragrances." Tenzu was also said to be the name of a place in Hitay (Eastern Turkistan / Xinjiang) where a medicinal clay - the main ingredient of the tablet tenzu - was imported from. Tenzu was a kind of theriac said to be effective against various ailments. Different tenzu prescriptions are noted in the texts [...] of several medical manuscripts of the 17th and 18th centuries. These tenzu prescriptions were described by various physicians, e.g. the head physicians Salih bin Nasrullah and Nuh Efendi as well as Hayatizade Mustafa Feyzi and Shaban Shifai who were palace physicians of the period. The special pharmaceutical tablet/pastille named "tenzu kursu" was formed in various shapes, i.e. oval, round, or rectangular. A measured amount of the drug preparation was compressed and shaped in a special brass mold named "tenzu kalibi" in Turkish. [...]
Prayers and ornamentations are engraved on the metal molds [...]. The expressions Deva al kulub (Drug for the heart) and Shifa al marghoob (The desired, yearned healing) inscribed on molds reinforce spirituality. [...] Inscriptions around the center of the other flower shaped pattern are Ferd, Hayy, Kayyum and feehi shifaun lin-naas (wherein is healing for mankind, Surah an-Nahl, verse 69). [...] Al-Hayy and Al-Qayyum are often used together. Al-Hayy signifies "ever-lasting life", and Al-Qayyum "self-existing life". [...] Sihhat bad (Have a good health) and Afiyet bad (Have a good appetite) are inscribed. [...] A. Suheyl Unver and Hayri Sozen published several tenzu prescriptions in their book "Turk Farmakaloji Tarihi I.", in 1960. [...] Tenzu prescriptions are found in several medical manuscripts kept in the Topkapi Palace Library, Suleymaniye Library and Istanbul University Rare Books Library.
Clay is a main ingredient [...]. Tiyn-i Tenzu is an unknown red colored clay. However, Terra Sigillata (Tiyn-i mahtum / muhurlu toprak) and Armenian Clay (Kil ermeni) are found in the prescriptions. [...] There are also animal products in the compositions, i.e. ambergris (amber), bezoar (badzehr), kermes (kirmiz), musk (misk), raw silk (harir-i ham / ham ipek), [...] and burnt deer antler (yanmisgeyik boynuzu). There are a wide variety of herbal drugs in the compositions, i.e. Acorus calamus [...], Aloe vera (Sabir), [...] Anchusa offinalis (Lisan-i sevr cicegi), Artemisia absinthium [...], Bambusa arundinaceae [...], Chenopodium album [...], Cinnamon (Darcin), Citrus aurantium [...], Crocus sativus (Za'feran), Embellia ribes [...], Gummi mastix [...], Heliotropium arborsecens [...], Nardustachys jatamansi [...], Potentilla reptans [...], Pterocarpus santalinus [...], Red rose/Rosa gallica [...], Rheum officinale (Ravend), Rumez acetosellaseed [...], Ruta graveolens (Keci Sadefi/Sedef Otu), Terminalia citrina [...], Terminalia chebula [...], Tormentilla (Tormentila).
Shaping and storage of these drugs are explained alongside some of the tenzu prescriptions. According to a recipe, all ingredients are beaten very thin on a porphyry (onyx marble) [...]. Each dose wrapped in gold foil is anointed an amount of almond oil. It is pressed into the mold, dried in the shade and stored in wood boxes. [...] Drugs in tablet form was an old tradition. In general, the preparation is poured onto a tray. [...] After dried in the shade, orange leaves are put between them. Stored in colored glass containers, they're reused when needed, squashed with water and drunk as a syrup. Also, flat pills made of a drachma weight were retained on the tongue in the mouth [...]. Although drugs in tablet form were used throughout Ottoman history either as a pastille or to be converted into syrup, the tenzu tablet molds were designed for the Ottoman sultans and members of the dynasty to make special tablets decorated with calligraphy [...].
[End of excerpt.]
All of these images are cropped screenshots of the PDF scan of the printed "conference works"; the PDF was uploaded online by Nil Sarı.

Gang Imma get into it later but holy shit if you’ve been doing the scans you gotta buy the books
- Chilchuck is So Much Bitchier
- So Is Shuro
- fucking everyone is I am LIVING
- both Kabru’s Utaya speeches in chapter 45 are subtly but significantly different and more… pointed? Like the tone is more specific to one interpretation
- Otta fucking told Kabru to go visit Milsiril and let her see him
- Kabru is actually somehow more judgemental of Laios but also told the Canaries he’d wanted to join “you”, not just enlisting in general which is also subtle but significantly more manipulative framing… and all of his talks with them are like that
He makes it so PERSONAL. He’s been reading How To Win Friends And Influence People and I love that for him like look at this shit
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The differences are really just tonal, it’s the same basic information but the way it’s presented is just… fascinating
Sentences are shorter but less ambiguous and I want to put everyone who translated it all in a room and ask them why, languages are so fucking cool???
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This though. The difference between “all humans have connections of some sort (we will use that to get them out)” vs “this is something that involves all of us (we will work together with them)” just
I want to peek open peoples skulls I need to knowwwww why were these choices made???
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, this bitch
(We all know that’s why I clocked this part so hard I’m basic)
Just.
“We’ll accompany you” vs “I’ll accompany you”, it’s such a tiny change but hot damn this idea that Mithrun does genuinely just do shit on his own and the others follow him around as opposed to following his orders
It re-flavours a lot of shit gang
I gotta stop for the night but ughhhhh I need mushroom fiiiiight
(Also Flamela called him a wretch in chapter 77 ugh internal Canary tensions are killing me)
It’s a little subtler around volumes 10-12 tonally but still noticeable and I gotta go do another run through of each
Translation is much more an art than a science and different translators will all pull different things as important to interpret and cultural touchstones and aaaaaugh
(Yes for those wondering we did just hit my second hyperfixation for communication and language and nuance and I am fucking dying)

TV Guide, September 2023 Issue (Kanto Edition) ft. Kamen Rider Gotchard Cast Members (translations below)
Publication: August 23, 2023
"What's everyone's favorite previously released Kamen Rider series?"
Fujibayashi: I think of them as "generations," but I used to watch Den-O ('07-'08) alot. The first one I remember watching was much earlier though, with Kuuga ('00-'01). He was the first Heisei Rider, wasn't he?
Kumaki: That's right. For me, Kuuga was the one that left the biggest impact. When I was young, no Kamen Rider series were broadcast, so I don't think there were many people of my generation that were familiar with it. I have a younger brother, so we were able to watch Kuuga together.
Matsumoto: I have two older brothers, so we had alot of the Rider belts at home (laughs). I would watch TV together together with them, and they liked Den-O and Kiva ('08-'09), while I liked Wizard ('12-'13) and Gaim ('13-'14).
Motojima: I liked OOO ('10-'11), which wasn't too long ago, currently I'm watching Geats ('22-'23). Originally, I didn't know too much about Kamen Rider…but, after watching it again, I thought it was very interesting, and felt that I wanted to do the audition.
Abe: I had previously watched Fourze ('11-'12), and when I decided to take the audition, I went back and watched it one more time.
Tomizono: When I was young, I watched Ryuki ('02-'03)…
Fujibayashi: Ryuki was good too!
Tomizono: It really was. It was interesting seeing Riders with such different personalities. I even practiced the transformation poses from different angles in the mirror.
Fujibayashi: Before my audition, I actually practiced transformation poses. It's not really an audition strategy (laughs), but, I thought, "I should do it anyway," and come up with at least one transformation pose.
Kumaki: I did it too (laughs).
"How did you feel when you were finally chosen to appear in Kamen Rider Gotchard?"
Fujibayashi: I was overcome with emotion, and felt that I have finally been able to show something to my parents. I've auditioned for Kamen Rider many times, more times than I can count. Every time, my parents would still believe in me, so I think I'm finally able to return the favor.
Kumaki: I've also auditioned countless times, over the course of many years, so when I was able to pass, I shared the excitement with my family.
Matsumoto: I love Kamen Rider and have watched many of the previous series, so when I thought, "I'm finally going to be apart of this," I felt extremely happy.
Motojima: I joined my current agency in March of this year, where my manager told me, "There's an audition open." It was the first tokusatsu audition I've done for Kamen Rider. I was so happy when I heard I passed the audition, that I still clearly remember jumping up and down.
Tomizono: I was also very happy when I passed. I'm excited to be able to work on a single role for a whole year.
Abe: The moment my manager said, "There's an audition for Kamen Rider," I immediately informed my mother. She currently lives in Osaka, but she calls me every day, and I'll read her my lines over our video calls. When I told her I had passed the audition, she was so excited. Seeing her happy makes me happy, and it made me realize that I have to really work hard and do my best.
Fujibayashi: Kumaki-san and I have auditioned for Kamen Rider many times, but this was the first time for the three of us (Motojima, Abe, and Tomizono). How many times did Rinne (Matsumoto) audition?
Matsumoto: Two times.
Kumaki: That's amazing~.
Fujibayashi: She really is a talented person.
Motojima: I was happy when I was selected, but at the same time, I was worried about if I was actually capable of doing this. Before we started filming, I was actually really nervous. Once we actually started however, it's been alot of fun.
Matsumoto: I also thought the filming was alot of fun, going forward, I feel like I'll be able to improve in many ways.
Tomizono: I'm looking forward to playing Sabimaru for a whole year. Although, I do feel overwhelmed.
Motojima: I need to concentrate on the daily filming. I'd like to go through this year without forgetting to take this seriously.

Mujihi na Yoru ni Chapter 1
Hi,
We are back with a new project.
Apparently, Sakuraga Mei came out with a new installment for the Warui series and I got my hands on the magazine to make scans for the first chapter. The title is technically "On a Ruthless Night" but we call it simply "Ruthless Nights" for two reasons. One, this goes well with the previous titles in the series (Ruthless Man, Ruthless You and Ruthless Body) and also because this series gave the inspiration for the name of our group. :)
The next chapter will come out in december and I will try to order it, but international post takes a while. In case someone knows where I can buy digital copy of the magazine called Hanaoto, I would appreciate it. That would make things easier and faster (and a bit less expensive since there would be no customs)
Also, sorry about the bad quality. I did the scanning and cleaning, but photoshop is not my friend and I couldn't wait to upload it.
Hope you'll enjoy.
H.

Since Fantine canonically rides a roller coaster in Les Mis, we could technically have a verse in I Dreamed a Dream where Fantine says "My life has been such a roller coaster" and it would be completely period-accurate

About the raws
How time flies. I was going to make a post about this last chapter and have passed 2 months already XD My bad.
I decided not to post the raw scans here anymore.
I will still buy the new vnc chapters from the Gangan Joker because I like to have it, but I don't want to use my time creating a drive for it when MangaUp! has the new chapter available in english at the same time that Gangan Joker magazine has it in japanese.
EDIT: It seems like MangaUp! doesn't upload extra chapters in their app at the same time as Japan. So, from now, I'll only share the raws of these extras since the english version won't be available at the same time.
To use 30-60 mins to create 1 drive and another 30-60 mins to create the other it's pretty useless and a waste of time that I don't have.
Very few people here understand japanese. My main reason to make the drive in the past was that the magazine version was available +1 day before the official english version. So, even if you don't understand, you can see what happens in the chapter.
Right now we have both, english and japanese versions, at the same time. So there is no need to post the jp one because again, few people can enjoy it.
