Pokemon Mainline Game Plot Summaries, Written from 3 am to 4:30 am:
Cutting off for Scarlet Violet spoilers and the whole thing got rather long.
Considering the plots I can only imagine what insanity they'll spit out next.
Kid fights the Yakuza who are trying to capture a newly born god.
Guess what, yakuza didn't die out. Kid 2 fights a foreign invasion of yakuza creepin in on his/her country and then goes to beat up the other country for not doing a good job.
Two different groups of enviromental terrorists plan to mess up the country (if not the planet) by drying out or rising the water levels. Also there's a meteor hurdling towards the planet so good luck with that.
Hypocritical Jerk says "emotions and free will are dumb we should all be the same (read: just like me)" so he finds a way to torture minor gods to create chains to bind the gods of creation to his will. His attempts piss off Literal Pokemon Lucifer.
Pokemon PETA with their figurehead Green-haired Player Character Wannabee Rival are here to say that Pokemon should be free and are willing to go Deus Vult on you over it. Turns out they mean your Pokemon should be free because the higher ups want to be the only people with Pokemon.
Sequel series has Pokemon PETA branch off into two opposing groups. The Bigger Jerk Side plan to resurrect the dead god-dragon by fusing the living fragments from the previous game to its corpse.
Local Flashy Idiot decides to murder the planet because he hates how everyone else looks unfabulous. This will be achieved with an ancient kill-sat tower that killed the region before because an ancient king had it made to resurrect his dead beloved Pokemon.
Global enviromental betterment organization is helping out NotHawaii. A bunch of random thugs are messing things up. Turns out the leader of the later is salty about not being able to be a gym leader while the leader of the good guy side is psychotic and tried to make her children into perfect hosts for extradimensional pokemon and merges herself with a giant murder jellyfish.
See 8 but now postgame includes fighting every other boss from the previous games from realities where they won and have gone on a Supervillain Dimensional Invasion scheme.
Ancient kings murdered an eldritch spacemonster. Its blood has leaked through the ground and creates hellspots where Pokemon turn into warped versions of themselves. There's a prophecy/calculations that the thing will wake up some day and a CEO who's trying to help the region wants to murder it harder but early so it can't cause trouble… and to save the energy crisis I guess. The Evil Team are actually a bunch of rowdy groupies. Also the princes have stupid hair and made things worse because they wanted glory.
Isekai into Meiji Era Island Nation where the local organization is sending people out into genuine terrifying life-threatening danger to study Pokemon and grok whats in each area even though the locals can explain stuff. Also there's this thing with what apparently is Pokemon God's blessing being showered down on the pokemon revered as living gods by the locals. Turns out some Absolute Idiot decided to break time aND IT turns out to be Plot 4 but its someone who may be the last survivor of a doomed civilization who either wants to murder or wants to Be Pokemon God and has made a pact with Lucifer to ruin God's day.
Traditional school easter egg hunt goes off the chains because the local Professors apparently broke time. There's three paths you can take for the plot at your leisure before stopping the time break: gym fight, perfect sandwich resource gathOH GOD THE BOSS FIGHTS, and anti-bully bullies whose teachers quit to get away from the nonsense.

Fic: Aquila (4/?)
Pairing: Hajime Hinata/Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu
Author: @miggylol
Notes: Last week was late-semester hell and seeing GotG3 yesterday absolutely stomped all over my emotions, so it's CATHARTIC ANGST TIME, BOYOS.
Previous Chapters: in the tag.
Excerpt: Gasping, Hajime lurched up from his mattress. With deep breaths, he tried to ignore the queasy, heavy feeling in his gut. Above him, a fan's blades spun lazily in his hotel room and the soft sound of ocean waves rumbled through his tilted shutters. The typical streaks of moonlight barely made an appearance through them. That was him, he told himself in his dark room. That was him. That wasn't me, that was him.
Yes. It'd been Izuru watching all of that, not him. But it was his eyes that did the watching and his feet that walked away. And so, it still hurt. Hajime had managed to wrangle his brain into a somewhat more balanced state, but that apparently meant that his memories didn't feel so neatly segmented. He'd get to freely remember not only the world's worst days, but like he himself had chosen to stand in their midst. Great.
-----
"Hey! There's someone!"
Hajime ignored the footsteps behind him. They were soft, matching the youthful voice he'd heard. In front of him was a developing scene of destruction, which mattered more than whoever approached. Not that the Remnants' efforts were especially interesting, either, but this battle had the chance to steer the path of many days to follow. Such scale had more relevance than a few lost children.
In the distance, a regiment wore matching black-and-white helmets. The electrical fields inside of them kept their wearers compliant. The highest-ranking soldiers wore those helmets not by force, now, but out of deep (and sometimes desperate) loyalty. In the earliest days of Japan's collapse, after the massacre at the National Diet, many potential fighters had indeed been forced into the mind-control helmets. They were strong, but Nidai was stronger. Once he'd gotten one man under control, they now had two people forcing others into the fold. Then, they had four. Then, eight. Then…
Such force hadn't been necessary for long. Plenty of civilians would pledge loyalty to anyone who suddenly held the power of life and death over them. The most capable had been allowed to put those helmets onto themselves. For some, joining the Remnants' army was a way to let their families stay safely ignored. For more, it was a thrill to be released from a stifling, suffocating social contract, and they joined the slaughter with glee. Some civilians who couldn't join the elite guards still tried to show loyalty by dashing a smear of red paint or lipstick over their left eye, or by piecing together a halftone outfit split down the middle.
But the true core of the Remnants' army in Japan wasn't civilians who'd joined the fold. It was the twenty-two thousand trained killers who'd once lived as the underworld, and now gripped the nation by the throat. There had been five thousand more yakuza fed to the military meat grinder. They'd bought time for the Imposter to give fatally conflicting orders in the guise of a dozen different generals, and then for Souda's machines to take out the remaining soldiers' hardware. Another few thousand more from the clan had died in loyal defense of its former leader, or in revenge for his abrupt patricide.
Many of those trained killers were now lined up against forces rallied by the so-called Future Foundation. Based on who was victorious in today's conflict, Japan would tilt very slightly toward one of two paths.
"Mister?"
The soft footsteps behind him had finally made their way up the staircase of broken cement and shattered brick. Hajime turned just enough to see the speaker in his peripheral vision. It was a girl, perhaps nine or ten years old, with a younger brother struggling to follow her. In her arms, she carried an infant wrapped in dirty rags. All three of them had dry, cracked lips and their skin was liberally speckled with cuts and abrasions.
At the full sight of who she'd been speaking to, the girl drew back in surprise, then fear. But she looked down at her infant sibling, forced a deep breath, and took another step forward. "Mister? Do you know where to find water?"
As he'd thought, they were orphaned. Knowledge of how to treat abandoned wild animals filled his head, and Hajime turned back to watch the battle. In such a threatening environment, any animal's lost young would certainly perish.
"Please," the girl begged. Her voice cracked, and as she walked right up next to Hajime's side, he saw that the skin of her lips had, too. A drop of blood pooled there, thicker and slower than it should. "Please. I'm trying to find food and water for them."
So, Hajime thought distantly as he watched the battle begin in the distance. These were Enoshima's chosen lieutenants. It wasn't interesting to watch them work, but at least it was a wealth of data to observe for future calculations. For the moment, as bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies hit the asphalt, he wasn't bored. Not interested. But not bored.
"Please!" the girl screamed, grabbing his shirt. "They're gonna die!"
He'd seen enough. The Future Foundation had bolstered its strength, but they wouldn't topple the Remnants any time soon. Enoshima's plan inside the Academy would continue unhindered, and Japan would continue to wither as destruction spread from that impressive edifice. Hajime turned, then glanced down at where a tiny fist still tried to hold him in place. He looked back up to meet the girl's gaze with inhuman crimson eyes. "Probabilistically, you're all dead already."
Her eyes filled with tears that she couldn't afford to shed, and her grip tightened.
Hajime reached down, forced her hand open, and ignored the cracking of bone and the screams that followed. He walked down the unstable pile of rubble with sure footing, and let the shouts of dying men and the sobs of dying children wash over him.
Gasping, Hajime lurched up from his mattress.
Great.
Well, he wasn't going to get any more sleep. Hajime pushed himself roughly out of bed and spent a good few minutes listening to the noises outside his window. He was here, he insisted to himself, not there. In those dust-choked ruins of a city, wind hadn't rustled through lush trees, nor blown waves to splash against white sands. Insects didn't chirp and hum there, and a few noisy birds didn't brave the early hours.
He'd spent years alone in dead, silent hellholes, silently suffocating under the weight of isolation. Under the weight of what world-class butchers had done to him. Hajime gripped the windowsill harder, and heard it creak dangerously under his fingers.
The most dangerous moments passed. Now, he focused on a sound that managed to drown out the gusting winds. Izuru had led a solitary life (if that could even be called living), and so he certainly hadn't slept next to anything like Kazuichi's absolute buzzsaw of a snore. The ruckus powered out through Kazuichi's half-tilted shutters and in through Hajime's. It was exactly what Hajime needed to hear: they were people, and they were here, and life still went on.
The usually obnoxious sound became a meditation mantra. Hajime focused on it, breathing in and out with the same rhythm, until he'd calmed down enough to turn toward the shower.
Hours later, at breakfast, Akane studied Hajime critically as she peeled a banana. "When'd you wake up?"
The sense of panic that'd choked him was long gone, but he hadn't been able to fall back asleep. He hadn't even tried. Apparently, that lack of sleep was written plainly on his face. "Dunno. Few hours ago."
"Rough night?" The voice put a real smile on Hajime's face, and he turned to see Fuyuhiko walking in to the hotel restaurant. His question had held real sympathy, but it vanished in the face of the open surprise he saw from the others. "What, am I not allowed to show up here, any more?"
"Of course, and we're so glad to see you!" Sonia insisted. "We just didn't know to expect your return. Since your departure was so sudden."
"Yeah, man!" Kazuichi cheerfully said, and tried to shove a bowl of fruit over to welcome Fuyuhiko to the morning meal. It didn't slide as he'd expected, and wobbled to and fro before tilting toward an edge.
Fuyuhiko lunged forward to steady it. With a deliberately suspicious look toward his friend, he wondered, "Can't even slide a bowl, huh? Are you safe to be left on your own?"
"Hey," Kazuichi protested. "There was a rough patch on the table. And you're one to talk about being on your own. Why'd you take off, anyway?" At the question, Akane also looked up with keen interest.
Shrugging, Fuyuhiko tilted his head in the direction of the hotel hallway. "I got sick of feeling like I was stuck at boarding school. Remember, I didn't do dorms at Hope's Peak. Besides, the cottages over there are a hell of a lot nicer."
Sonia nodded and took a brief sip of coffee. They'd discovered where coffee plants had been established, but would still need to harvest and roast the beans. That was hardly a priority with everything else they faced, and so coffee was currently a luxury. For all of Sonia's many and varied skills, she wasn't good at denying herself those. "Hajime also described those cottages as much nicer than this hotel. Perhaps we should focus on the roof repairs, then, and all move?"
Remembering Kazuichi's loud snores from the night before, Hajime blanched. With a good block of time between now and when he and Fuyuhiko had kissed—
holy fuck that's right we totally kissed
—His brain had focused on more everyday matters. But now he remembered the heat of skin against skin, and how he'd spent the evening before that mired in (confused, frustrated) arousal. In the future, those situations could easily lead to very specific, very audible behaviors. During neither of them did he want Kazuichi, Sonia, or Akane sleeping behind open shutters, right in an adjacent room.
"I really don't think it's a priority, with everything else we need to do," Hajime replied, beating Fuyuhiko to the trigger. His voice sounded odd in his ears. Distant. "If Fuyuhiko's willing to walk back and forth and really wants a cottage, then I guess he can do that for a while."
"Mmm. A fair point," Sonia said, and studied Hajime over the rim of her coffee cup.
He nodded uncertainly to her.
Breakfast was fruit, of course. Between natural foliage and what had been planted for the tourists, they'd never run out of food. Even when they managed to wake up their friends, they could easily sustain themselves on the first island alone, let alone the rest of the archipelago. That was good, Hajime thought as he worked on a papaya's soft flesh. Considering how this was 'forever,' and all.
In morning's bright light and after he'd worked out the situation with Fuyuhiko, 'forever' did seem much less of a threat than before. Hajime found himself smiling faintly as he worked on his meal.
As everyone eventually began to finish, Sonia was the first to speak up. "If I might propose today's tasks?" Once they'd offered her their attention, she continued, "Since Fuyuhiko is focusing on internal logistics, I would feel much more at ease if I verified our external defenses. Kazuichi and Akane, would you mind accompanying me to the police docks on the fifth island? I'd like to review what they used to defend the tourists."
Hajime looked over to Fuyuhiko and caught his eye. They both looked back at their meals and said nothing.
"Defend the tourists," Akane repeated. "Huh. I guess you're right. With all these rich people staying here, they'd need to have some way to send any pirates packing."
Kazuichi folded his arms. "Yeah, now that you mention it, they wouldn't let millionaires and fancy resorts just be sitting ducks. I guess that makes sense for why it showed up as a full-on military base in the simulation."
Sonia nodded proudly. "Precisely. We too should know exactly what defenses are at our disposal." She took another long sip of coffee, then looked up to study Hajime and Fuyuhiko. "Since they've talked about managing the animal population here, the two of them can stay here and work on that."
"Makes sense," Kazuichi said, and tipped back his glass of water. "And I'm just not gonna think about how our freezer might suddenly be full of chickens."
"Oh, yeah!" Akane said, beaming at them both. "All those chickens. You guys better get right to work!"
"Sounds like a plan," Fuyuhiko said with a deliberately level tone, and kept eating.
The five of them had already established such strong habits that it was no wonder that Fuyuhiko's sudden absence had caused such a ruckus. Today felt more normal, and so like usual, they waited until everyone had finished eating before standing to tackle the day's tasks. Akane rushed out to beat Kazuichi to the boat, while Sonia set a more level pace. She offered Hajime and Fuyuhiko a bright smile before walking to follow her companions for the day, and vanished into the distance while humming an obscure eighteenth century waltz.
Hajime watched her go with a faint frown, wondering why she'd studied them with such curiosity, but that faded as soon as Fuyuhiko cleared his throat and he was reminded of who he stood beside. A smile instantly appeared, instead. It would have been a huge relief to move from 'weird, uncertain argument' to 'normal again.' Moving from 'I don't know why, but we're apparently fighting' to 'holy shit, we're actually kissing!' was an even better outcome, and it left him feeling rather giddy.
"Sounds like they'll be on that other island for the rest of the day," Fuyuhiko levelly said.
"Sure does."
A warm breeze whistled through the restaurant, bringing the scent of perpetual summer. Hajime inhaled it deeply, focusing on its touch across every inch of exposed skin. When his eyes opened, he noticed Fuyuhiko watching him. For a moment, their gazes held.
A moment later, Hajime backed Fuyuhiko against another sturdy wooden table, and easily hiked him up to sit on it when it interrupted their path. Fuyuhiko kept his arms wrapped firmly around Hajime's neck as he was positioned, which also kept their mouths locked together. A low, pleased noise rumbled out of the back of his throat. Hajime instinctively echoed the sound.
"Okay," Fuyuhiko said when they broke apart for air. His cheeks were pink again, like when they'd first kissed. Then, it had looked like embarrassment shifting into disbelief. Now, this was only excitement. "We're supposed to figure out the animals."
Laughing reluctantly, Hajime pulled back. "Do you have to be so… responsible?" Fuyuhiko had been the one to shoo them away from his cottage yesterday, too. Just because they'd had their first kisses ever, with each other, didn't resolve their daily checklists.
"We've got a whole day alone," Fuyuhiko reminded him. "And there are way too many fucking chickens."
"Right," Hajime relented, and stepped away. "The chickens."
Ten minutes later, as they walked to where goats and chickens had once been raised and penned, Fuyuhiko broke the silence. "You never answered me."
Hajime glanced over. This interior road had been used to truck food and other supplies between the hotels, airport, and docks, and so it was much broader than the scenic trail used only for electric tourist carts. It was two lanes comfortably sized for trucks on both sides, and with no concerns for setting the mood for tourists, trees were hacked away well clean of the road's shoulders. There were no palm fronds overhead, but the two of them were already tan enough to not worry about burning. A breeze would be nice, though. "Answered you? About what?"
Fuyuhiko studied him for a few steps, then looked back ahead. "I asked if it was a rough night."
"Oh." Hajime also took a few steps to reply. "Yeah."
Fuyuhiko nodded, and said nothing.
"According to Akane, I look like hell. I guess it's not a secret. But I dunno, I just didn't want to say much in front of everyone."
"I get that, but still." Fuyuhiko shoved his hands into his pockets and let his gaze wander across the trees. "Everyone understands. We all have bad nights"
"Yeah?" Hajime asked softly. It'd been likely, of course, but Fuyuhiko had never admitted to also being trapped inside memories of those past years.
"Yeah." Suddenly awkward at admitting weakness, Fuyuhiko plastered over his sincerity with a sidelong smirk. "Should I be worried that you had a bad night right after we…?"
"Well," Hajime reluctantly admitted, "I did dream about you." Fuyuhiko nearly tripped over a stray pebble, and Hajime laughed as he clarified, "About one of the big fights with the Foundation. I was watching. But no, having a bad night had nothing to do with you. I'm pretty sure it's because there were clouds over the moon. And it's only a crescent right now, anyway."
Fuyuhiko worked through that, and clarified, "So, it was dark? That's what can set you off?"
After moving to this grimmer topic, Hajime could no longer say that he was in a good mood. And now that they were talking about specifics, even 'okay' faded. "Yeah. Seems like it." Fuyuhiko was willing to accept that without comment or judgment, and for that, Hajime was grateful. He was. Truly. But suddenly, he felt truth rise in him like vomit wanting to come out, and he knew that he had to share something for the first time. "I think I know why."
With uncommon patience and clear concern, Fuyuhiko waited.
Even though this demanded to be said, it took Hajime a few dozen steps to find the words. "They had to develop talents that involved vision. Marksmanship, art forgery. Whatever." With each step, Hajime's face prickled warmer, but this wasn't the excitement he'd felt while pressed up against Fuyuhiko in that restaurant. This was the boundary of a panic attack, where the only worse thing than speaking the memory would be trying to force it back inside. "And so they wanted to improve my sight, too."
"So, what did they do?" Fuyuhiko hesitantly asked. Their pace down the road slowed.
"I still don't know," Hajime managed. His speech was choppy, by now, and each word hurt. It felt like he could barely get enough air into him to fuel more than a single syllable at a time. "But they cut the optic nerves. And left me like that. For a while. Until another surgery. Then I saw better." His hands shook, and he missed the first time he tried to brush away a tear trailing down his cheek. "But until then. It was all dark."
A hand gripped his wrist, hard, and Hajime was forced to a halt.
Fuyuhiko's cheeks weren't pink, now; he was crimson with rage.
Hajime's face prickled as blazing fire and terrible cold ran across it. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest like it wanted to burst free.
When he finally spoke, Fuyuhiko's voice was a low growl, barely audible. "Are all of those motherfuckers already dead?"
Sharing that memory had exhausted Hajime. He nodded once. "I'm sure they are."
With no targets for which to plan a murder, Fuyuhiko was left shaking with futile fury. His eye rotated in its socket, looking for a tree or signage pole or anything in close distance that he could punch. There was nothing. With a frustrated cry, he instead grabbed Hajime and drew him close. His hands gripped the back of Hajime's shirt nearly hard enough to tear it, and they strained and pulled until the worst of his anger ebbed. "Those pieces of absolute dog shit," he spat, his face buried against Hajime's shoulder.
Getting that memory out really had been like vomiting. He'd avoid it if he could, but once it became inevitable, Hajime did feel better with it out of him. He wrapped his arms around Fuyuhiko in return, and let himself sag and be held up. Hajime couldn't say why, but it felt almost like he should apologize for putting the words out there.
Eventually, Fuyuhiko pulled back enough to look up at him. "Do you want me going back to the hotel?"
Confused, Hajime blinked. "Huh? For what?"
"In case you have another bad night, if it's that dark again." Regret filled Fuyuhiko's eye, and he reluctantly added, "Or anything else they did that might set you off."
"No. No, it's fine." Hajime tried to force levity back into his voice, and barely succeeded. "We want an excuse to have some privacy over there, yeah? Besides, right now, you're the one dealing with any rough nights alone."
Realizing his meaning, Fuyuhiko shook his head. "Trust me, what I remember… there's nothing like that. Nothing even close."
Hajime studied him critically. No, Hajime remembered a brand of horror that was—thankfully—unique in the world. But Fuyuhiko would remember feeling the hot splashes of blood as his parents died in front of him. He'd remember more blood as he personally toppled a government, then watched the ugly years that followed with full knowledge that it was him: he'd ended things. He'd wrecked supply lines, he'd shattered infrastructure, he'd left dying children hunting for food and water. He'd pushed the men who trusted him to lead them into the slaughterhouse.
That sort of practical horror had a less demanding presence. It probably wouldn't reach up and drag him forcefully down, but should Fuyuhiko sink into the depths himself, Hajime didn't know how he'd climb back out. And like Hajime had said: right now, Fuyuhiko was the only one left dealing with terrible nighttime memories alone.
"What if I move out to a cottage, instead?" Hajime slowly suggested.
"Huh? That's not…" Though Fuyuhiko instinctively countered him, his argument trailed off.
"So long as we're there for breakfast and dinner, it'd still feel like normal, right? They wouldn't complain. And I can just say that if you're going to stay out there, then I didn't want you to be alone. Sonia already worried that you could get hurt or something and we wouldn't know about it."
"She needs to stop worrying about me," Fuyuhiko groused. "I can take care of myself."
"So?" Hajime prompted.
Fuyuhiko didn't meet Hajime's eyes as the last bit of righteous anger left his expression. He seemed suddenly aware of how close they still were, but he didn't step away. "Yeah. That'd… be nice."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"Okay. I'll move out."
"Okay. Good." Fuyuhiko cleared his throat. "Into a different cottage."
"Obviously, yeah. But close to yours?" There were multiple pathways that arced over the water, some quite long.
"Yeah."
"It's a plan, then," Hajime committed, and nudged them back into motion. It was so bright, today, and the horrors of last night seemed increasingly distant. He was here on the island, not watching death from atop a throne of rubble. Fuyuhiko was beside him, not facing down the would-be saviors of humanity. They were here, and they were them. And for now, all they had to worry about was all those fucking chickens.

What Makes A Soldier: Werewolf!Jack Morrison x Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reader and Jack aren’t quite together
Contains: Werewolf transformation
Overwatch.
The big brawn against the vicious bad in the world. The soldiers that would go anywhere in the world to bring peace, even if it meant force. Men and women putting themselves in front of the wars for the citizens.
Such a big and powerful force has it’s secrets, and Overwatch was full of them. From a secretive task force that employed a gang member, a yakuza member and a mad scientist to sweeping mistakes on their part under the rugs of the billionaires that fund their operations. The walls were full of awful secrets that would destroy the agents’ lives should they get out.
And now that you were apart of Overwatch, you could find yourself in hot water should something happen despite not having dirt on yourself. This was a ship that sunk with all of the sailors in it.
What you weren’t expecting was to be assigned to one of said very important and very dangerous secret on your first day in the medical wing. You were one of Morrison’s right hands, working very close to the Strike Commander during the Omnic Crisis. But now here you were, paired with Doctor Zeigler as she slapped a massive file in your hands on your first day labeled in big letters ‘Solider Enhancement Program: #76.’
The enhancement program was controversial itself. It pushed the limits of what people could call humane, hell, they tip-toed on the edge of violating laws across most nations. Sire, it produced soldiers any government could only crave about; Faster than a normal human, stronger than a normal human. But how they get to those results? You couldn't help but shiver as you opened the folder.
To your surprise, it was a file for a special containment in the cells beneath the base you stood in. It wasn’t for an enemy either, it was for one of your own.
As you flipped past a few pages, you were met with the medical file of the soldier with their photo. Your jaw dropped, eyes widened as you were met with the pages of Jack Morrison, your very close friend and fellow soldier. You couldn’t help but admit that you felt something for the man, something all fluffy and warm inside when you were around him, but this was a shock.
You were assigned to make sure he was contained for a condition brought on by his involvement of being in the program. From what you were able to understand, every number of soldier had a different experiment. One experiment had an immunity to radiation but had went blind, another was made terminally ill but could regenerate their dying cells in an odd way.
But Jack’s condition was something else.
They had made him into something awful.
It was almost as if she knew as Doctor Zeigler stood before you, practically waiting for the horrified questions you were about to ask.
In the folder laid documents for human experimentation, turning the once average United States army soldier into a monster. You picked up the one singular photo of when the experiment first paid off: A monster was in the photo. A big, hulking, hairy monster hunched over something you couldn't make out. It looked to be like a werewolf from the snout and the odd legs. Hell, he even had shreds of his remaining clothing. Army-issued came shirt barely clinging on around his neck and chest, his issued pants tore apart and barely hanging on by the belt, combat boots destroyed on the floor.
"Are you serious? My first real assignment after being shoved here is making sure a god damn werewolf is kept silent here? And it's the Morrison!" you grit your teeth. “How the hell has he gotten by without this being made to the public? Why didn’t I know? I’ve been working with him for years!”
Angela tried to calm you down, stating that it was to keep the image alive for Overwatch. Only a few people knew and if the news ever broke, investors would pull out quickly and Overwatch could be seen like Talon. It wasn’t just Morrison either, apparently Reyes was one of the experiments as well and that’s why Moira is always in his business.
You both didn’t have a lot of time to prepare for tonight, but the good doctor was quick to take you to the cells to show you around.
Tumblr media
The observation room you stood in was near frigid. The walls were a dark steel and the floors an even darker stone. The overhead lights weren’t on but the room was illuminated by the control panel before you and the small television screens to your right. Before you was a wall of glass thicker than the rest of the specialized containment cells in this corridor. Past that glass was a room, it was expansive, wide enough to fit dozens of soldiers standing shoulder to shoulder. The walls and floors matched the room you stood in with the small ring of Overwatch agents allowed to know; Captain Amari, Lieutenant Windhelm, Commander Reyes and Doctor Ziegler with a few of her medical nurses just in case. There were deep marks in the stone floor, small ravines scratched right in along with many cracks and impact marks. Hell, the glass was even cracked in a few places here and there.
In the room before you sat Jack. He looked miserable. He kept his back turned to you as he sat nearly hunched over on a small metal stool. You could see the goosebumps scattered across his skin, you could also see the sheen of sweat that was now tinting his shirt darker along the spine. He wore a cheap t-shirt and gray sweatpants, he wore no socks or shoes.
You don’t know how long you all had waited here in silence, just watching the glass, staring at him as if he were a zoo animal. Reyes had told you it could happen at random sometime during the night. Once they waited three hours for him to turn, another time they barely got him inside of the room as he had started turning on the way down here.
You could have pinpointed the exact moment it had started. It was like a faint ripple had washed over him as he suddenly choked on his own breath and keened over and off of the stool.
The noises that were coming out of him made you wince, seeing him claw at his throat for air and pull at his clothes for them to come off. The sudden snapping of something inside of him cut clean through the air as Jack shouted in pain.
It all happened fast: His nails had grown long and sharp from his lengthening fingers, shoulders snapping out of place to reform broader, spine crunching up as his muscles tore and reformed themselves. His shirt had ripped at the arms, the sleeves splitting as the rips went down the sides, revealing stretching skin that looked like it could split at any moment. It made you nauseous to see this happening, to see something in real life when it should only be in a horror movie.
The way he moved and jerked around, the way you could see what was happening to him through his skin, the noises he was making, it had your stomach in knots and your throat tense as you tried not to vomit in the observation room.
Jack started to claw at his face and yank at his hair, his shouts becoming deeper and less human. You could see his teeth were sharp, they were too big for his mouth as blood had split from his gums. His face just seemed to melt, pushing out his mouth and nose into a sort of muzzle that finally allowed his teeth to fit.
His feet had started to crackle, toes curling as claws pushed from the nails. He yowled as the balls of his feet snapped loudly, his feet lengthening as they grew long, his heel hiking up and adding more length to his leg. His pants had grown tight, tears and rips splitting into the very cheap materials, exposing more stretched skin.
His skin was starting to look gray as you finally noticed the hairs that had been growing across his body. The blond was so light you couldn’t make it out until there was an abundance all over him. It was growing in thick, various shades of blond all over his gray skin and lanky body.
With a shake of his body, the fur had scattered across him, covering him head to toe with hairs to cover his shame. His ears had crawled to the top of his head like a dog’s, hell, his head was that of a wolf’s.
He was hunched over the floor still, but even as he tried to curl up tightly to try to hide the pain, you could tell he was easily as tall as Reinhardt who was behind you, standing like a strong wall to stop Jack should he get out. His limbs were lanky and oddly muscular, his hands were the size of baseball mitts, and his teeth looked razer sharp.
You watched as he stood to his feet, shaking off the scraps of clothes clinging to his patchy blond fur, what remains barely clung to his shaking body. Clawed fingers flexed, his maw parted as he gasped and panted, and those ears on top of his head swiveled around to try to find anyone near him.
His head snapped in the direction of the expansive glass that protected you all from him. You could practically feel the snarl he emitted as he turned, those haunting blue eyes piercing right through you as the beast gave you all its full attention.

Note
thank you so much for the masato post bc the way people talk about him makes me Seethe. i understand finding him and interesting as a character but i think a lot of people are a little too willing to gloss over the fact he was very much meant to be a representation of the kind of power hungry men that lead nationalist movements/get big in conservative politics? i know people are quick to remind others that very few yakuza characters are good people, but i think there’s a notable difference between guy in the mob who beats people up and a character that’s canonically writing policies to fuck over immigrants. idk.
I GOT YOU ANON 🤝
let me repost what i've put on my twitter:
"other yakuza characters have done bad things so" listen. Listen. the thing about Ryo Aoki is that he is less of a Character and more of a Symbol. all fictional characters are, to a degree, but aoki *very specifically* exists to communicate something about a very real issue
aoki is literally more of a Literary Concept than a character to shake around like a fandom dolly. yall dont even think about the repercussions of a TransGay Fascist. of how he would navigate his sexuality and identity while still pushing for ppl like him to be exterminated
you literally just make him transgay who kissies daigo to make him "fun" and for what? you know who could be transgay kissing daigo? ichiban is right there. but something about the representation of nationalism in japan *compelled* you to try and redeem it?? analyse that
like, they clearly dont like him either bc they write n draw him OOC as fuck. i dont get it. and the fact that the *oda apologist* of all ppl is defending them should rly be a wake up call lol

Appearance and Personality:
As a teenager:
When Yagami first meets Matsugane, he wears a satin red and white zip up varsity jacket, medium wash blue jeans, and red and white skate shoes.
When finding his parents dead at their house, he wears a black cropped blazer, red t-shirt, black baggy slacks, and black oxfords.
Yagami has a slim and athletic build, which allows him to move with fluidity and grace while fighting. He has medium-length black hair in a messy middle part. As a teenager, his hair was dyed brown and slicked back.
As a (ex) lawyer:
While in court, he wears a gray tweed two-piece suit with a red and white regimental striped necktie, a pair of brown dress shoes, and his attorney pin on his lapel. In several flashbacks to 2015, his hair is shown to be slicked back in a much more conservative style. He dislikes how he looks when he wears a suit.
As a detective (standard outfit):
Yagami's standard outfit is a black asymmetrical zip up leather moto jacket with snap-down lapels and epaulettes over a fitted white tee-shirt, a pair of blue medium wash washed out skinny jeans that are distressed around the knees, and a pair of white low-top sneakers. He also wears a wireless earpiece in his right ear. He has a chain on his jeans, which attaches to his wallet to prevent it from being stolen.
Mementos:

Relationships:
Mitsugu Matsugane (✝️):
He saw himself in Yagami and raised him as a son. Yagami would later be introduced to Ryuzo Genda, who paid for his education and supported him as he went through law school, and offered him a part-time job at the Genda Law Office. Yagami spent his first paycheck on buying a coffee maker for Matsugane.
Mafuyu Fuji:
During Yagami’s solicitor days it was implied (in a flashback) that he had some a sort of unofficial relationship with Mafuyu but soon abruptly “ended” after shortly quitting when his client got acquitted
Despite the “break up” three years later, after becoming a detective, Yagami can either choose to be indifferent, but friendly, towards her or he could state that she was more like a sister to him (optional)
Masaharu Kaito:
During his teenage years, Yagami would get into alleyway fights with Masaharu Kaito, a member of the Matsugane Family. Eventually, the fights would catch the attention of its patriarch Mitsugu Matsugane, who saw himself in Yagami and raised him as a son.
Other:
Jun Sadamoto:
Yagami was out of town — for a divorce mediation case — when Kaito took their client’s case and briefly met (presumably) Jun in the hospital before Kaito came to
Mitsu Yagami (OC):
Yagami found Mitsu abandoned in a box outside of his building with nothing but a blanket and a letter “N” on the back of the card; asked him to look after the infant as if she were his own (which she kinda was 😂)
Nanami Matsouka:
<> After being harassed by her aggressor and stalker, Takada, did Yagami stepped in to help Nanami out who immediately quickly pretended that he was her "boyfriend" and soon after the situation had been resolved they exchanged numbers
<> Shortly thereafter Yagami had gotten a text from Nanami saying that she was kidnapped by Takada and was held in a black van (and gives him several other details) before her smart watch had died; leaving Yagami to search for her whereabouts.
<> He finds the van outside of the ramen shop but accidentally sets the alarm off after picking the lock on the trunk; tipping Takada off to rescue the mission
<> After the ensuring fight, Takada is arrested, Nanami clutches onto Yagami, who comforts her. She tells him that she'll pay him back for everything he's done for her, leading to her asking Yagami out on a "date.”
Part 2:
<> After a couple attempts of asking Nanami on a date (and after being blown off many times over her work) Yagami goes to Yukiko as a last resort to win the former’s heart; which would had to involve a snippet of pretence to get them closer
<> After Namani found out about Yagami’s “deceitful” motives — like he had a choice because she refused to do anything else — she had gotten very angry (and hurt) with him for doing what he did.
Trivia:
• Yagami is the oldest out of all the 8 girls he can optionally choose to date (from both games in total)
Judgement:
<> Sana = 20 years
<> Amane = 11 years
<> Tsukino = 20 years
<> Nanami = 6 years
Lost Judgment:
<> Tsukino (recurring) = 18 years
<> Kyoko = 8 years
<> Minato = 19 years
<> Emily = 18 years
• Yagami is 4 years older than Mafuyu
• In total since quitting law Yagami has been a PI for seven years in both Judgment and Lost Judgment
• 5 years worth of experience with drones
• It’s safe to assume that Yagami definitely went through a mid life crisis phase (from job change to a change of appearance from formal suits to casual street clothes — which is a drastic change)
• Yagami’s nickname in Japanese Tābō translates to “young man Takayuki”
• Yagami’s home/work address is Nakamichi Alley
• He goes by something he calls the YAGAMI System when it comes to dating
You are the real prize
Ask lots of questions
Go for it
As soon as you
Make her feel comfortable
Ignore her calls the next day/Invite her out again
• Yagami always seems to attract foreigners 🤣
<> Sebastian Hutton 🇺🇸 (Acquintance)
<> Ryan Acosta 🇺🇸 (Friend)
<> Emily S Mochizuki 🇬🇧 (Girlfriend ~ optional)
<> Kalashnikov 🇷🇺 (Acquaintance)
AU:
<> Sally “Sukki” Jones 🇬🇧 (OC)
• Yagami may have a drivers license but just chooses not to drive (It’s safely assumed that he at least has a motorcycle license)
• Yagami is 4 years younger than Kaito
• Yagami always do the “Pomeranian Head Tilt” whenever he’s confused about something 🤣

One Piece Chapter 1051 - Initial Thoughts
Tumblr media
So the battle is over, now the fallout begins
Wano doesn't know it yet, but their plight is over, a new era has begun So let us see how it unfolds
Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release also!
And Germa had to do the rule of cool escape, cool people walk away from explosions...something tells me however that this isn't all there is to it, at least I hope not
And Kin'emon is alive! Good! I know people were set on him dying but since he was the person who kickstarted this whole Wano-based saga I thought it was fitting he survived
Naturally, the people of Wano are shocked
Kiku's also alive! So Usopp's actions and Izo's sacrifice wasn't for naught. Sadly it does imply that Izo's dead though which is sad. Also brief Shinobu appearance
Surprised Raizo's there though, I feel like a full bodied burn would take more than a bandage to the head
Mini Onimaru appearance too, feel like he could've been used in the main fight
And the crew finally meet Yamato, and are of course on guard because they're Kaido's son
So, this is what people were going crazy about? Yamato insisting they're going to be sailing with the crew? It's not exactly confirmation I'm with Jinbe on this
Also someone really needs to tell Brook and Sanji...
Also also Tama's face is priceless
Chopper's hard at work healing Luffy and Zoro, we still need to know about Zoro though but if he's being treated he's clearly still alive
Kaido's men are doing a runner though, despite Yamato's protests
Huh, so Tama's DF does have a time limit, after a month the animals can return to the wild if they choose
And Speed is gonna stay tamed, Tama even wants her to be the new mother
It's cute, but I feel like this came out of nowhere a little, maybe if we had more time establishing Speed being protective and motherly towards Tama. Tama calling her Horselina-chan doesn't help either
Nami also shocked, maybe she wanted to be the mother
Momo slowly comes out of the smoke now too, making a good speech
Aw mini Komachiyo, and of course sad Tama past; her parents died working in the mines, and Hitetsu took her in to keep her spirits up. Strong kid for sure, but the tears can come - embracing Nami rather than her new 'mother'
Oh crack a smile boys, Kid you weren't there for the alliance but you did your part, Law just let people be grateful to you
Carrot appearance finally too
Almost faltered at the end but thanks to some telepathic encouragement from Kin'emon he lands on his feet
The age up did Momo good, long hair's definitely a keeper. Glad he's not exactly like Oden too, he's his own manchild
He also gets to reunite with his sister at last (would've been funny as hell if she dropkicked him)
And Oda telling us off the bat that he'll be one of Wano's greatest leaders, so Wano's going to be all right
I liked this chapter, it is the cooldown period of the post-raid stuff. I can see a lot of people not liking things because it didn't go their way though:
I know a lot of people were set on Hiyori becoming Shogun, using this as a reason to put Momo in the crew, but frankly I never saw it. It's the Sansa Stark problem, if you're familiar with Game of Thrones (and if you aren't you must've avoided it with intent to not see it) you know Sansa Stark suffered a lot of shit through the series, but when it came to the final season I always felt like she didn't deserve to be 'Queen of the North' simply because she suffered a lot. Enduring torment doesn't equate to being a good leader; Hiyori may've suffered, but she also lived pretty cosy in Denjiro's Yakuza-protected Flower Capital-endorsed brothel, she was a national celebrity and all she really had to do was play coy on Orochi's advances and fleece a bunch of sickos out of their money. Nothing from this arc has demonstrated that Hiyori had any ambitions or qualities of being a leader, in contrast to Momo who is making decisions and declared that he would become Shogun even when beaten and about to be executed.
I'm happy to see Kiku and Kin'emon alive too, but I understand that people wanted them to die so we had a higher death count. We still lost Ashura, and likely Izo, and we've yet to see Drake or Hyou either. I will say though I did expect one of the mink leaders to die though, mainly because we've not actually seen someone peter out from Su Long, and Raizo, but I'm content with Oda not killing people off for the sake of it either.
So then we get to Yamato. I'm probably gonna get a lot of heat for this but I don't think they should join the crew. Now, put those pitchforks down please and let me explain! I really like Yamato as a character, and yes I'd enjoy seeing more of them, but there's a but I cannot shake and it's that normally prospective Straw Hats go through a process, it's not just 'Befriend Luffy, claim to join', if it were then what stopped Bartolomeo? Most Straw Hats fulfill certain things Yamato's yet to cover; a role on the ship, a rapport with another Non-Luffy Straw Hat (Zoro and Usopp didn't have this granted but that's because the options were slim, also Robin really became a Straw Hat after Enies Lobby), and Luffy calling them by their actual name. Meanwhile, Carrot achieves all these things; like Yamato she has ambitions of seeing the world, has a unique transformation, a powerful fighting style, has suffered loss, and is slightly naive, but unlike Yamato she's fulfills the role of the crow's nest, she has rapport with Chopper, Sanji and Nami, Luffy calls her by her name. I know Carrot hasn't featured a lot in Wano, but she's been with us for 3 arcs now, so I find it slightly unfair that Yamato can just strut in ahead of her without doing some of the key things Carrot has achieved during her time. In addition to this, Luffy doesn't need a 'Kozuki Oden', Oden was on Roger's crew because he could read Poneglyphs, Luffy has Robin for that. I know Yamato fans are on a high and this sounds like trampling, but I feel like until Luffy says it, it's not happening, he's the captain after all it's his decision. Of course if Yamato does join the crew I'll get over it but I'll be sad that Carrot missed out despite doing everything right, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Luffy told Yamato to either go out on their own - since the fleeing Beast Pirates implied to Yamato that some didn't want to work for them - as a Grand Fleet member or fulfill Oden's promise to Whitebeard - about returning to him after his voyage with Roger - by going with Marco.
Right, now that's done lemme pull out one or two pitchforks from my stomach and talk about Tama. Tama was a strange one because I did like she got payoff and that her DF has limits, but the Speed stuff is also something that felt like it needed more fleshing out. It's nice for her to have a new family though, I could easily see her and some tamed Gifters becoming Momo's Oniwabanshu with Raizo and Shinobu, but I also could've seen her becoming a pirate. Not with Luffy, but like how the Tontattas became 'pirates' but mainly operate in Dressrosa. She is the Queen of Beasts after all.
And finally Momo, I think we still have much more left of Wano, Luffy and Momo are likely to say goodbye to one another once he awakens and of course there's the whole Zoro thing we've left unchecked for AGES LIKE GODDAMN ODA! Like I said before I like that Momo looks different to Oden, he still has the eyebrows but his character arc has been about not being his father; Oden didn't want to become Shogun, he wanted Wano's borders open, and he often tried to do things himself, but Momo has become his own identity by acting against his Father's intentions, and that's what will make him a great leader. I understand people will worry because he's still 8 years old, but he's matured a lot and he has a lot of intelligent people around him with good intentions.
The fallout will continue of course, but for now we can close the book on Toki's Prophecy, a new day begins in Wano.

Note
JUST got to the Kokuyo Arc in KHR, I swear, it feels like it happened way sooner in the story in my memories but it HAS been years since I read KHR so I guess that's fair
One question tho: Why do Mukuro, Chikusa, and Ken, all have Japanese names? Like, they've been with the Estraneo Famiglia since childhood/birth possibly? Even on Mukuro's wiki page it says his nationality is Italian, so... why the Japanese names? Even in the crew, M.M. is French, Lancia is Italian, and I guess Birds and the weird twins are also Italian (I don't care about them they weren't important.)
Also, theory, but I firmly believe that Hibari's parents (or at least one of them) HAVE to have yakuza connections. I feel that's one of the only ways to explain the reason he's Like That. There's never any explanations for anything, but this is a headcanon I will firmly believe.
Come to think of it I dont have a good grasp of the time things happen in KHR either LMAO.
Dunno. Possibly a Japanese parent that lived in Italy perhaps? But yeah considering the other characters youd think theyd have Italian names... or at least one of them?
LMAO Id believe it. Hibari is a menace to society. Also his boys all have that greaser hairstyle typical of gangsters in Japanese media Ive seen so I mean...

Yakuza: Like a Dragon -Final-
Tumblr media
The dawn of a new millennium.
It's time to wrap up all the remaining trophies in Like a Dragon.
Tumblr media
But first... a new substory?
Tumblr media
I head up to the floor where Ichiban Holdings is located, and Eri invites me out for drinks at Survive. Back at Survive, Eri and Ichiban talk about the future, which Eri mistakes for Ichiban flirting. Damn Ichi. I guess on the way to the top, you gotta get some bitches along the way.
Tumblr media
Of course, Eri is misunderstanding what Ichi is saying. He wants to know what the future looks like for the business. Eri relays her grand ambition: to make Ichiban Holdings a national -- and perhaps international -- business. An ambitious goal, but one that Ichiban will support fully. Eri invites Ichi to take a nap, and while he does, she plants a big smooch on his cheek. I'm not sure how Saeko will feel about that... But completing this little event grants us a trophy for romancing two women at once. Yay...?
Tumblr media
I also go ahead and grind out my remaining Part Time Hero points (about 10 or so) to get the trophy for reaching "Executive Hero" level. Sweet.
Tumblr media
Finally, I go ahead and grab the Table Talk trophy while I'm at it. Incidentally, I wind up unlocking Zhao's final Drink Link, so here goes nothing...
Tumblr media
While Ichi packs away some alcohol, Zhao asks if Ichi can serve as backup for him while reuniting with Mabuchi. Ichi is wary, but decides to tag along with Zhao.
Tumblr media
Ichiban's initial concerns are right. As it turns out, Mabuchi sprung a trap to try and defeat Ichiban and Zhao and continue climbing up the ranks of the Omi Alliance. Zhao, somehow getting even sexier, turns feral and tells Mabuchi that he's going to have to kill him. We are then forced into a battle with Mabuchi and his cronies, which is piss easy because we're in the high 70s and he's in the low 30s.
Tumblr media
Zhao warns Mabuchi to get out of Ijincho or risk dying at Seong-hui's hands. Mabuchi laughs at this, until Zhao points out that the only reason Seong-hui hasn't killed Mabuchi yet is because she's doing a favor for Zhao. But her patience won't last long. Zhao tells Mabuchi that even though they hate each other, he still considers Mabuchi to be his brother. With that, Ichiban and Zhao head back to Survive, where Zhao proposes to me and cooks me a fancy five star -- no... no. Never mind. We just get a trophy for maxing his bond level, that's all.
Tumblr media
And now it's time to get these last three trophies. Now, based on the little research I did, it seems like getting the trophy for the True Final Millennium Tower might be something I should do in a New Game +, since there's a ton of job level grinding involved. So my choices are to either grind out the Kamurocho Underground for what might be hours on end, or replay the game in New Game + on a harder difficulty. I decide to think about it while I take on the Final Millennium Tower.
Tumblr media
Ok, so my dumbass completely forgot to take screenshots of the tower... Honestly, it wasn't hard at all except for a couple of small fights. I also spammed Poundmates until I got the trophy for summoning Poundmates 30 times.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Upon reaching the tower, we are forced into fighting the "manager" -- Amon, a master assassin and the game's superboss. For the most part, this is a pretty easy fight. He doesn't hit nearly as hard as I thought he would. Joon-gi's Head Trauma is hilariously busted and does huge chunks of damage to him. For the most part the fight goes smoothly... until he busts out a bullshit insta-kill attack that targets all party members! Suddenly I got a game over and has to revive. What kind of bullshit is that? The same thing happens when I tried to redo, because I wasn't able to get Ichiban's Peerless Resolve up fast enough. For round 3, I decide to have Ichiban just spam Peerless Resolve over and over once Amon got in range to do his insta-kill move. Naturally, he never used it a single time during this interval. Cool.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With Amon defeated, we gain a shit ton of money and a nice trophy marking our completion of the Final Millennium Tower. Sweet! Kiryu appears and makes some comments about Ichiban not being a pushover or whatever. I honestly don't remember what he was talking about because I've been sick haha.
Tumblr media
Returning to the overworld, I get a message saying that I can now take on the True Final Millennium Tower. The Final Millennium Tower wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, so maybe this one will be --
Tumblr media
Ah.
Job level 90? That's insane. It takes so long to grind job levels even with the job exp items and the vagabonds. It's pretty obvious to me that they want you to do this on a New Game +, since apparently battle rewards are vastly increased. So I've come to my decision -- I'm going to continue to play the game. This time on New Game +.
Normally, I play this game for a couple hours a day. What I might do is spend only one hour doing the New Game +, while using the other hour to play a different game instead. I'm invested enough to get the Platinum, but I definitely want a bit of a palette cleanser. As for what I'm going to play... only time will tell, I guess?
Update: naw fuck the platinum lol not doing it. I'm going to play Yakuza 0 instead

" Who am I to you? "
Send “ Who am I to you? ” to hear my muse describe their relationship with your muse/how they perceive them as a person. ||Accepting|| @parallelroutes
“Ehh--?” There was a chuckle at the tail end of that. “Oh! Are you talking about Byakuran-san when you ask me about who the Visual-Kei ikemen is?” She giggles at the description. She’s a bit curious to know how he’d think about someone describing him that way. She gives the person a reassuring smile, “I understand that it looks weird that we hang out together,” what, with them looking so different? “but he’s not a bad guy. He’s pretty kind, you know? He’s easy to get along with.” She could understand the reservations based off how he looked, however. The face-tattoo probably did him absolutely no favors in a country where tattoos often had the association with the Yakuza.
Well, it wasn’t like the Yakuza had tattoos on their faces, usually. It was mostly seen on their back and necks. She digresses.
It wasn’t like she wasn’t aware of how the elder generations could simply judge people for whatever reason they wanted. “I enjoy his company, because he doesn’t pry or try to enforce anything onto me.” Never trying to enforce ideals onto her, or expectations. She doesn’t have to put up a façade around him either. It was relieving when you thought about it that way.
“It’s a bit complicated maybe, our relationship.” The beginning of their relationship was… well… not a good one. He was trying to take over the Tri-ni-sette and was sacrificing an unimaginable amount of people for his ideals. Then he was killed in battle… and somehow brought back, and here he is. How do you describe that, a nemesis who died, but comes back younger and no longer crazed? “He’s a friend, Haru would say.” The looks the patisserie gave her at that response.
From complicated to, we’re friends? She’s getting strung along again, isn’t she? He makes sure to give her the biggest Choux crème. “He’s good company that listens to me and takes my thoughts seriously, I think. He seems to enjoy hanging out with me, so I’ve been having fun lately.” There was just something fun about making a new friend with someone who was aware of the mafia world, but not really affiliated with the Vongola. It was refreshing.
“If you see him again, please be nice to him. He has a lot going on, and I think it would help him if he could be treated kindly. He looks the way he does, but he’s a good person.” She smiles once she gets the man to agree. She could only imagine the looks he got from people around them in a conservative nation like Japan. It wasn’t much, but if one more person could understand he was nice and treated him like your average person, maybe it would make things easier for him.

RWBY characters races for AUs set in our world.
How I’m going to do this: three things. The first, the city they live in Remnant. This is the least important because that leaves us with only five…maybe six places compared to our world’s hundreds of countries.
The second will be the original of their names, which they’ll have to keep in the AUs, meaning that they need some culture background for them.
The third will be their fairy tale origins.
So to start, Ruby Rose:
She lives in Vale, which is similar to France (I’ll explain why in another post maybe), but technically grew up in patch, a small island off the coast of Vale. I have no idea about Patch’s culture as we hardly ever see it, so I’m going to skip this one. We also don’t know if either Summer or Taiyang was originally from Vale.
We know Taiyang is Chinese from his name, so I’m going to say she’s half Chinese. I also wrote a western au once and really love the idea of Taiyang being an Asian Redneck…so I think I’m going to say Ruby is very, very southern just because that would be adorable.
But if you don’t want that idea I generally see Taiyang being either Asian-American or Asian-French, or Asian-British if your doing a HP AU. Summer is harder to pin down, but Red Riding Hood was originally an Italian fable, so I’m going to have her be Italian or Italian-American.
Weiss:
Weiss is German, although making her simply white America/British would work. I could see her being Russian too in some AU because Atlas fits well as Russia. For American works, Pennsylvania has quite the German population and coal mines, so that works pretty well for her.
Blake is really complicated. From Remment Australia which is culturally SEA (south East Asian), has an English name but parents with a Hindu-inspired names, but neither looking vaguely Indian. I’m going to assume her family are immigrants (as they are in cannon I think) to Australia, maybe even changed their name to help them fit in. Immigrants from where? Well, India is an option, but I like to think Malaysia. They have a large Indian and Chinese population, and I like to think Blake is a mixture of Chinese, Malay, and Indian ethnicities, from Malaysia and immigrated to Australia. And if you think this is crazy or unrealistic, you haven’t seen anything yet. The sheer mix of cultures I’ve seen growing up as an ex-pat is insane. This isn’t too crazy.
For Yang, we already have Taiyang as an Asian red-neck. Or at least I do. Raven and Qrow are going to be a little harder to pin down, but I’m think bandits getting replaced by mafia. Which mafia? I don’t know, take you’re pick. Branwen is Welsh, but I can’t think of a Welsh mafia. Coming from Mistral I would see them as being Triad, not Yakuza because Raven’s gang is famous for being less than coordinated.
If you need a logical reason for Yang having blonde hair, Taiyang could be only half Chinese, half blonde (blonde is race right?).
Either way I see Raven operating in an American city like New York or Detroit.
This would mean Yang is fully Chinese ethnically.
JNPR:
Jaune’s name and inspiration are all French. However his mother does come from Mistral (I think), so I do see him being half Chinese, but nationally French. It’s also funny to imagine him with a French accent.
Pyrrha: she’s Greek or maybe Greek-American with her parents being recent immigrants. Argus seems to Remnent-Greece and her name and fairy tale are greek.
Nora: she should be Scandinavian. I feel like in a MCU AU she’s Thor’s daughter. But she also grew up as a street rat in Mistral, which is hard to fit in our world. Therefore I’m going to have her in America, the great melting pot (and also America seems to be more like Mistral than any other Remnent king with our state system), and she going to ethically Scandinavian but knowing nothing of her culture due to her upbringing.
Ren: obviously Chinese, but I might have him be American-Chinese to fit his story nicely in with Nora’s.
Others:
Coco: we’re all ignoring that she’s based off Coco Channel, so let’s make her a LA girl
Velvet: Australia, because of the accent. Or maybe English because that is her story origin
Fox: he’s difficult, because tribes are pretty rare in modern AUs. But his story could work for various things. He’s one of the few black characters so he could come from practically any African tribe (I’m currently going with Hausa because it’s one of the few I know anything about). His name is based off ‘the fox and the hound’ which is a rare American story, so he could also be from a Native American tribe if you want the AU to be more American-based.
Yatsuhashi: Japanese, this one is thankfully easy.
Sun: Chinese. He comes from a tribe as well, but I can’t think of any nomadic Chinese tribes except the Uyghurs. Making Sun a Uyghur doesn’t make much sense but it will serve to piss off certain people on the internet. And now this is going to be taken down, isn’t it? Oh wait, this is tumbrl. This is anarchy. It won’t. Forgot why I liked this place for a second.
Scarlet: sorry for the rambling there. Anyway, Scarlet is definitely English. “I hope I don’t get sand in my shoes.”
Sage: well, he’s black, but other then that we have nothing to go one. He’s also from Mistral but that doesn’t really work? If Mistral is America as well as China I guess we can make him African American. Or whatever else works best for the AU. He might be Indian too now that I think of it. Or even Maori. Really options are limitless here.
Neptune: Yeah, so probably just American, but does have both a French last name and an Italian first name. So probably ethically American (aka white mutt). Also he lives near a port, I think I’m gonna gone with him being from Tacoma Washington because I am.
Flynt: African American
Neon: Japanese-American because of her meme (it started as part of Japanese pop song on YouTube, the latter of which is America summed up in one invention)
Oscar: Hispanic-American, he just looks it. And I’m guessing he lives in Kansas for obvious reasons. His last name isn’t Hispanic but their could be a lot of reasons for that. Or he could be Native American (Pawnee, Cheyenne, and Osage are all Native American tribes in Kansas).
Penny: well if she’s still a robot she probably stays white, but if you want her human in this AU she might end up being half black as Pietro is, although she also could just be adopted. I guess the later makes more sense, huh? I figure she’s American, with her dad working with a ‘well meaning’ but ultimately corrupt government. Probably living in DC, as that has both the government and the poverty issues.
Emerald: oohh, boy. This is hard. Sustrai is Basque, and Aladdin is a French addition to an Arabian story, she herself is dark skinned with anime features that are super unhelpful for this sorta thing.
I have three ideas. Brazilian, mostly as there’s no South American themed RWBY characters I can think of, and it’s diverse enough that someone looking like Emerald would fit. Secondly, for American centered stories she’s just an orphan with no idea of her ethnicity. Or she could be African, Indian, Pacific Islander, or Hispanic or some mixture between those four. It’s honestly really hard to tell. In my fanfic she’s from Suriname and ethnically 1/4 Indian, 1/2 Creole, and 1/4 Javanese.
Ilia: Sioux (Native American). Ilia means a lot of things in a lot of different languages, and Amitola mean rainbow in Sioux, so I decided to just stick with that.
Mercury: American, white mutt American. I’m guessing New York or Philli for where he grew up, it seems like a place where he’d be comfortable
Neo: the new novel reveals her father lived in vale (btw I haven’t read it, I’m just getting this off the internet) and her mother was a assassin who’s origins aren’t known. She doesn’t really have a fairy tale. So I’m going to go with British or French (thank RWBY thoughts for the first one) although in an American AU she works as just a white American.
Robyn: depends on what Atlas is in this AU, but probably German or American.
Qrow: I already mentioned he’s probably Chinese due to being from Mistral. It’s a bit weird to think of him as Asian, but not as weird as it to think of Raven as white, so I’ll take it. Although I do like the idea of him being American Irish, that’s fun.
Winter: whatever Atlas is in this AU, German or American, although British and Russian would work well too.
Maria: Mexican
Salem: If you want a AU where she’s just a normal person then New England or Italian for her story origin
Watts: British
Tyrian: uh…I have no idea, but he looks white. And he kinda has a British accent? I want him to be southern for the accent tho. Probably just another crazy American
Cinder: her fairy tale is French but her origin is Chinese. Also, Cinderella doesn’t really have an origin, it’s an ancient story with every culture having at least one Cinderella story. So I’m going to say Chinese.
Hazel: American, from the Midwest. He’s darkish so maybe he’s a POC? Part Native American or Hispanic? Idk or really care I can’t stand Hazel
Roman Torchwick: American-Italian, he runs/works for the mafia
Ozpin: American because of the whole wizard-of-Oz-thing or French, because he seems to have come from Vale.
Glynda: American or French for the same reasons Ozpin is
Oobleck: Jewish American (because Dr. Seuss was)
Professor Port: Russian, due to his fairy tale, or English, due to his style
Taiyang: already said he’s a red-neck Asian.
Raven: depending on whether you want her to be white or not, either Chinese or Irish American, like I already said.
Cordovin: Karen
Ironwood: again, depends on Atlas in the AU. Either American or German…maybe Russian
Clover: Irish-American (or German, obviously the ace-ops depend on where Atlas is. I’m just going to do the rest of them assuming Atlas is American because Germany isn’t that diverse)
Harriet: African-American, I guess. It kinda messes with the story because Harriet is supposed to be privileged, which doesn’t really work in this AU, but she’s also obviously black.
Elm: Just normal American, maybe greek-American because of the Aesop fable themes
Vine: Tibetan based on his design
Marrow: either African-American or Pakistani/Indian-American. (I’m personally going for Pakistani)
Klein: english. All butlers are English. It’s a rule.
Pietro: African-American
Johanna: Pakistani or Indian American
Fiona: Jewish-American (kinda random but while she’s obviously white she also needs to be a minority for the Faunus thing to work)
May: normal upper glass American/German
Ghira: Half Malay, Half Indian, from Malaysia but immigrated to Australia later in life
Kali: half Chinese, half Indian, but also from Malaysia
Adam: much like Fiona I’m going to assume he’s Jewish due to him being white but still needing to be a minority. German or American, again, depending on where Atlas is. Or he could be Chinese, even though it doesn’t work with his name, due to the theory that he was trafficked much like Cinder. I’m going with ethically Jewish though
Sienna Khan: Indian
Huh, I actually finished that. I’m pretty sure I was accidentally racist multiple times and apologize in advance,
I’m exhausted and starving and not thinking straight. But anyway, here it is. Your very messy guide to modern RWBY AUs. I swear this was insane to sort out.

Sniperhaul fanfic
ˡᵐᵃᵒ ᶦ ᶜᵃⁿ'ᵗ ᵇᵉˡᶦᵉᵛᵉ ᵗʰᵃᵗ ᶦ'ᵐ ᵈᵒᶦⁿᵍ ᵗʰᶦˢ
Tumblr media
Overhoe finally broke out of Tartarus after a very long time. However, he couldn't have done it without the help of a certain villain mistress. 😏 Who's she and why did she choose to help this terrible (x2) man? Find out bellow.
characters: overhaul (chisaki kai) x sniper lady
word count: 3k
warnings: angst, past memories, handless overhaul, hurt, comfort, gangs, yakuza, just girl taking care of her mans
notes: I'd like to thank the person responsible for proofreading this work bc I'm supposed to keep their identity a secret. 😎 Thank you once again! And of course, the manga and characters belong to Kohei Horikoshi. @meefal you were excited to see the final product so here you go, hope you like it. 🖤
✂-------------------------------------------------------
Overhaul couldn't remember how long he'd been there, he'd lost count weeks ago. The only thing he knew was that he was in "Tartarus", a prison located 5km off the coast of the Mainland. It may function like a conventional prison, but in reality, those who're deemed a severe threat toward the safety of the nation were locked up and monitored closely, regardless of whether their sentence has been decided on yet. The facility was divided into 6 levels, where the potential threat level of criminals was deemed "higher" the further underground you go. It's a prison where, once you enter, there's no chance of leaving.
He sat there in his cell, B10 being the lowest level in solitary confinement. It was too cold for his head to function and too dark for his eyes to see, with the small window above the prison doors being his only source of light. There was also an opening where prisoners received their meals, but considering that he lost his hands, the guards could easily enter without worrying too much for their well-being. They'd leave whatever they offered that day and give him a disgusted look before locking the doors after themselves. He couldn't see his reflection nor touch his face, he probably looked like crap by now. His skin was itching and he felt disoriented from all the germs occupying this space, it's been a while since he's gone out for some fresh air.
He was practically Quirkless and yet they locked him out in the worst, most dreadful place the isolation block had to offer. He couldn't even feed himself properly, he couldn't do anything by himself whatsoever. But there was only one thing left to him; he spent days and days thinking about pops, Chrono, yakuza and everything he could have if it weren't for those stupid heroes-- no, if it weren't for his plan that so grandiosely failed. It made him feel miserable, desperate even, and with grief soon followed acceptance. It was all his fault, and he needed to live with this burden for the rest of his life. Because of him, pops is still handicapped to the bed somewhere, wherever the heroes might have taken him.
He stood up and started beating the cell with his leg, curing his frustrations. He didn't know why he was doing it, it was irrational and he's hurting himself unnecessarily, but for some reason it made him feel lighter. At least he could transfer some of his inner pain to the outside world. Other criminals laughed at his patheticness, especially since they knew why the guards were allowed to enter his cell. They shouted that it was impossible to escape, but he wasn't trying to. He knew that it was useless a long time ago.
Midnight came and all the prisoners mostly fell asleep. Overhaul, however, couldn't sleep a wink. Because of the dark room he spent most of his days in, he lost his sense of time so he was pacing around, deep in thought. He couldn't dream of anything nice anyways.
"Can't fall asleep either?" a feminine voice could be heard from the other side. Wait. They allowed women here? What could she have possibly done to deserve such punishment?
He leaned his back on the doors and slid down to the floor, trying to find the right words.
"Yes." he sighed, enthusiasm lacking in his voice "But it's not like I need you to talk about my problems."
"Hm, whatever. Go beat your head against the bars. Fall unconscious, loser."
The man snorted, which might as well be his first time he ever did that.
"Well, this certainly sounds effective. It's not like I have anything to lose anyways."
"Hey." the tone of her voice was earnest, and it aroused further questions in his jumbled up head.
"What?"
"We're going to get out of here."
Is she being serious now? "Really? Because as far as I know, we're locked out here for good. We don't even know the severity of our sentences. They can do whatever they want with us."
"Not quite. You know that they're being supervised by 'The Hearts and Mind' party offshoots. They can’t do a thing to us as long as they have their heads to the pikes."
This might be true, but he didn't believe in anything the government's been telling them lately. It's only a matter of time before they switch their plans and play by their own rules, because stabbing people in the back was the only thing they've ever been good at.
"How did you end up here?"
Oh the long-awaited question. She wondered when he'd ask.
"It's not like I need you to talk about my problems."
He smiled, he liked this vicious side of hers. But he also realized that she could be nice as well because if that wasn't the case, she wouldn't spread promises of the escape. At least that's what he thought.
"Sorry about that."
"It's okay. We've all been here for a very long time, now weren't we? We lose our cool and act like total assholes."
"Direct and straight to the point I see." his deadpan voice could be heard from the other side of the bars.
"'Been raised this way, for the better or worse." it didn't sound like she was bragging, yet it felt like she was just talking about herself, honest and confident, to cover up what she felt was wrong. The incoming topic which she'd rather avoid.
The villainess didn't want to open up about her past, so she just answered his question.
"I killed people beyond counting, following AFO's orders. He always wished to become the world's greatest demon lord and thus promised us enormous change in the hero society. So in order to achieve that, he needed his underlings. And that's how I ended up here."
"You were loyal till the end."
"You know what they say; there can be no progress nor achievement without certain sacrifice."
Wise beyond her years and just as sad. He wondered how her face looked like, how the world's been treating her.
"I had my own sacrifices as well."
"Do you regret them?"
...
"I do."
Now it was her turn to snort "Really? And I thought that people situated this low couldn't have regrets. You remember what they said about us. 'Beasts in human clothing', 'Simply dreadful beings'."
He felt insulted, maybe the things she said were true but it's not like he was anything similar to these pigs he shared the same air with, unfortunately.
"I regret hurting the person important to me. The old man who once took me in when I was very young. He was the infamous boss of Shie Hassaikai."
Something clicked in her, it's such a small world they're living in, "Yakuza? I know you guys. We used to trade with you back in the days."
"Todou Gang?"
"You said it."
"But... you were a force to be reckoned with. One day you just collapsed and not a single trace could be found. According to certain sources, there was no way anyone could determine the exact cause of your downfall. So what happened?"
"I killed them all."
...
"AFO told me to kill them to prove my loyalty to him and, of course, to make sure that there was no one I could turn to other than himself."
For some questionable reasons, and he didn't dare to admit that it was empathy he felt towards a random stranger and a former gang member he shared some history with, Overhaul wanted to fill the silence that lingered between them. Perhaps, because he felt guilty for making her reveal more than what she initially intended.
"I used pops' niece, a 6-year-old girl who had an extraordinary Quirk; it allowed her to rewind a person's body back to a certain state. That means she could put a body back to before it was injured or before the person even developed a Quirk. With that, I wanted to create a Quirk-erasing drug to get rid of the Quirk society altogether and to make sure that yakuza could rise once again. I cut her skin every day to take blood samples and to test her regenerative abilities. However, pops didn't approve of it, so I handicapped him to the bed and planned on waking him up the moment I realized my plan, to make him proud of the achievement. Unfortunately, it didn't play out as I wanted and I never reached him."
The silence followed and the woman wore a disheartening smile on her face. It's not the answer she expected, she didn't ask for another sad story from another messed up person she's met in her life. But the intentions were pure and for her, it was good enough.
"We both fought for something only to lose it all, huh?" she laughed, but it was prominent in her tone that it was bittersweet.
"At least you're brought here in one piece."
"At least you can still revive your parent."
Were they comforting each other? Were they jealous of each other? Were they wallowing in self-pity? They couldn't tell. The only thing they certainly could was the embarrassment they felt from the moment they realized that some of the prisoners were eavesdropping and making fun of their vulnerabilities. See? That's what they hated the most about opening up about themselves; they were worried about their feelings being perceived as a joke. The only way to protect themselves was to rise up the walls and never let anyone get closer, except they didn't regret exchanging a word or two, as long as it was the two of them.
The next day, 8:34PM Mainland-side entrance, the guardians of 'The Bronze Gate' announced a code red security lockdown. Panic and shouting could be heard from across the hall and the security alarm announced the potential danger.
"Close any and all passageways on each floor. All workers are to enforce strict measures to maintain order."
"The surveillance system is down! It seems like we've been hit by some sort of EMP attack!"
Static waves were spreading around the metal frames and the prison doors of the isolation block unlocked. Overhaul could hear the commotion outside and the villains leaving their cells in a hurry, but as much as he tried, he couldn't push the heavy doors open.
"3 seconds until we're back online- wait... What the... With the system down we can't monitor the inside!"
"Nice, 3 seconds be damned." he beat the door with his legs, pushed the surface with his shoulders, leaned all of his weight on the godforsaken thing just so it could finally open. Nothing. It seems like he lost a couple of pounds during his stay here. He couldn't believe his eyes, this couldn't be happening to him. After all this time of patient waiting and hoping to meet pops once again, it turns out he'd be the only one still trapped and all because he didn't have any hands. He panicked, he really couldn't decide on what to do next. But then he remembered-
"Go beat your head against the bars, loser."
That's it! This might be his only chance to escape! He didn't have much time left though, he could hear the shooting nearby so he definitely needed to hurry.
"The system won't come back on!! The ones in solitary confinement are breaking out!! Inside!"
"Control unit's on site!! Execute lockdown in the isolation block!"
"Follow procedure! If even one of them steps a foot outside their cell-"
"Fire!! Open fire!!"
Muscular threw whatever he could find in this messed up place back at them, excitement prominent in his big smile "You ain't gonna kill me with those puny toys! So how about you show me the exit already?!"
Other villains were joining him, still overwhelmed by the sudden freedom they've been given "Dammit... After all that time..."
"Meat..." Moonfish mumbled as he cut his opponents with his blade-like teeth.
The villain lady joined them in the run, still carefully examining her surroundings in case they were tricked into something, "The system isn't responding to my Quirk. 'Guess Tartarus really is falling."
As she was running down the corridor, she could hear beating noises coming from one of the doors. It sounded dull so the person must have been using their head.
"Eh, don't tell me the idiot actually listened to my advice. He must be desperate."
She came to the doors and turned the circular lock in a hurry. She really didn't want to stay in this place any longer, but she couldn't leave him behind either. It's not like she could use him for anything since he was basically handless and Quirkless so why was she doing it? She didn't have an answer. Maybe it was their talk from the other day, maybe because they were both gang members with a history, maybe because of her regrets and her wish to do something right for once. Or maybe because she was just this kind. Nah, this couldn't be it, she never did anything in her life that didn't require a certain purpose. She cast her heart aside a long time ago and did what was necessary for the accomplishment of the mission. It would be weird if she suddenly started using her heart again, now wouldn't it? She was AFO's personal assassin, there was simply no way.
He came out of the room with eyes wide in puzzlement. He was finally free and ready to find pops so he could possibly revive him and try to fix things as much as he could.
They looked at each other for the first time. They never said it aloud, godforbid, but they liked the other's eyes. And perhaps the eyes were a window to a person's soul, their broken souls, tormented by the life's temptations. They were still so young, probably in their twenties, and yet they looked older at the same time. Maybe because of the seriousness in their faces, their stronger stance, the way they defied their fate. They were destined to fall apart, no one would argue with it, but circumstances drove them to take action and rise from the bottomless chasm. And now they had each other.
"We need to get out of here," she stated and pulled him by the sleeve that hung loosely from his shoulder. They escaped Tartarus and raided a small shop near the coast to change clothes and to mingle into the public unnoticed. She quickly picked out a dress and threw herself at work while Overhaul was still standing by the shop display, looking out for the potential intruders.
He couldn't erase the thought of this being some sort of a really weird first date; the girl coming out of the stall and the guy examining her looks. He shook his head, he never had this kind of thoughts in his entire life. He needed to pull himself together.
The bob-hair came out and adjusted the ammo on her utility belt. He looked at her from the corner and she was stunning; intimidating with a tad bit of femininity in design. He stood there and watched how good it fit her curvy form. The thoughts wandering in his head sounded so wrong, terribly wrong. He needed to bring himself to stop.
"Oh right, I almost forgot." she took a shirt off the shelf and came to him, showing him the garment in her hands "You need a little help, right?"
"Sure.'' his voice was small and he stood still while she undid his buttons. Maybe from the outside he looked completely calm, but from the inside he was a complete mess. He looked at her face and wondered if she knew, the kind of effect she's having on him. She raised her head and he looked to the side, there's no way he could look her in the eyes at this point. He hoped she didn't notice.
"You like this one, don't you?" she asked, filling the awkward silence.
"Looks don't matter, the most important thing is to change and avoid getting caught." She looked annoyed. Great. He wanted to shove his head though the wall. Wait… Why was he thinking that?
"I choose the clothes I like. It makes me feel better in my skin."
"You look good in it."
She looked at him surprised and he quickly corrected himself "the dress looks good."
"Sure." she trailed off and put the new shirt over his shoulders. She could feel his muscles tensing. This was probably because of the cool air, she assured herself.
"Why did you break me out of Tartarus? It's not like I could be of any use to you."
She buttoned up his shirt and fixed the wrinkled parts on the garment, hand accidentally brushing over the left side of his chest, feeling his heartbeat.
Well... that was a surprise.
"I thought that maybe you could be of some use to the demon lord. Not Quirk-wise, but you may offer a valuable set of information. Something that the demon lord would appreciate greatly." she could feel it slowing down and her heart dropped just as much.
"But also because I... liked you."
He looked at her incredulously and she smiled. She pinched him to bring him out of the trance and he complained. "Don't be awkward, say something."
"I like you too... I, this is my first time I ever said this to anyone. It's weird."
She slapped him gently on the shoulder and he reached to take it but, yea, no hands.
"What the hell?"
"You're the one who's weird. But I guess that I like you this way." she stood on her toes and kissed his cheek "Ew, you should definitely shave though. No doubt about it."
The former yakuza boss swore; he'll never understand women. But for some reason he couldn't deny that he was particularly drawn to this one. He wondered if pops would approve of her.

Hello, I require your infinite wisdom please!! :O So I just finished cowboy bebop and I am so confused like who the fuck was Julia. WHAT was Faye's past. I literally never process tv shows and the bebop was not immune to my stupidity LMAO like... I guess the ending just really confused me, from what I gathered Spike and Vicious were friends? But then they weren't? And Julia dated Vicious but also Spike? And he? Went after Vicious even after Julia had died? I am Confusion. Please help. Thank u...
Oh BABEY I am so glad you asked! :) Be prepared for a long answer and I apologize in advance for how incoherent it will probably be.
ALSO Please note: this show is fucking complicated. I have watched it all the way through several times a year, every single year, for over a decade now, and I am *STILL* finding new shit every time I watch it. It's packed with symbols, motifs, allusions and underlying themes that are just so rich. It is so extraordinarily well-written that it could give a lot of classic literature a run for its money. I'm literally working on an in depth literary/film analysis my husband lovingly calls my Manifesto on the series right now. SO PLEASE don't beat yourself up about not catching everything on the first go round.
HEY BTW for anyone who hasn't finished the show, please know there will be MANY spoilers ahead!
Anyways ~
1.     Spike / Julia / Vicious:
Tumblr media
The information we get on Spike's past, including Vicious and Julia, is pretty limited considering how big of an impact they have on the story. We get our first glimpse in Session 1: Asteroid Blues, then again in Session 5: Ballad of Fallen Angels, Sessions 12 + 13: Jupiter Jazz, and Sessions 25 + 26: Real Folk Blues. I recommend reviewing these episodes for you Julia and Vicious fix.
What we know:
Spike and Vicious were both members of an organized crime syndicate called the Red Dragons, which is roughly analogous to the Yakuza or the Mafia. Their positions in the organization are not clear, but there are some images alluding to them being hitmen, and they likely rose up in the ranks as they were close acquaintances of Mao Yenrai, a Capo of the Red Dragon.
Spike and Vicious were close comrades. Spike taught Vicious everything he knew about fighting, and the two had a deep trust in each other. Which Spike fucked up ….
Tumblr media
^^Vicious looks hot asf here
Julia was Vicious' lover/girlfriend. One night in 2068 (three years prior to the time we watch in the Bebop) Spike is injured, presumably from a syndicate-related fight and he passes out in front of her door. She takes him in and nurses him back to health and he SIMPS HARD for her. We’re all but told he's in LOVE love with her. They start an affair, and Spike tells her he's ready to abandon the whole life - the syndicate, Vicious, Mao, all of it - and they could run away together.
Tumblr media
WELL Vicious finds out about this whole affair, and is DOUBLY betrayed because his literal best friend and girlfriend have been having an affair, and tbh I think he was just as jealous of Spike's attentions as he was of Julia's. (Whether or not it’s a sexual thing for Spike … well … I have my own headcanons about that). SO when he finds out they're going to run away together, he gives Julia an ultimatum: you can either kill him, or I'll just kill you both. Spike had written her a letter about meeting him in the graveyard to start their new life together, which she tears up to hide his location from Vicious. (This is the falling ripped up pieces of paper we see in Spike's flash back in Session 5).
Tumblr media
^^ r/gifsyoucanhear
**NOTE: There are those who disagree with this view, (looking at you Cowboy Bebop wiki) instead suggesting Vicious and Spike were buds in the past, but then hated each other once they were both considered as potential successors to Mao. That's why Vicious wanted him dead, and he was enlisting Julia (who he didn't necessarily have a romantic connection to) to help kill Spike since he knew Spike loved her. Personally, I think there is plenty of evidence that Vicious also wanted Julia, and in fact was already with her, when Spike started seeing her. If you want me to cite my sources please send an me an ask about it :)
Spike gets the idea, whether by her just not showing up or word around the syndicate being like YO Vicious wants you dead. Despite Vicious' ultimatum to Julia, he was gunna kill Spike either way. SO he sets up an ambush, and SadBoy™ Spike walks intentionally into their trap. Somehow, he doesn't die, though the entire syndicate thinks he did. (Note Annie's reaction to seeing him alive in Session 5). It’s also implied that this is where he lost his eye.
Tumblr media
HIS EYE - possibly the most important symbol in the show so I do have to mention it. In episode 26, he explicitly explains to Faye that one of his eyes only sees the past. (PS this isn't dissimilar to Jet's arm… we can get into that another time). Basically, he's constantly living halfway in the past and halfway in the present, and describes the past like a dream he can never wake up from. Because dysfunctional or not - the syndicate WAS his family. (Again - see his relationship with Annie, Mao, and Vicious (prior to Spike's betrayal)). It's his reminder that Julia didn't run away with him, and that he'd left behind that life for her. (He didn’t know she was being threatened until the final episode). Basically Spike is hyper-fixated on what he had and what could've been.
Not long after this, Spike starts bounty hunting because like? What else is he going to do. He doesn't care if he lives or dies but if he has to be alive, he may as well be able to eat. He joins up with Jet Black on the Bebop.
TL; DR: Spike stole Vicious' lover, Julia, so Vicious made Julia choose between her killing Spike or Vicious killing them both. She instead went into hiding and Spike thought he'd been stood up. He fake died and got the hell outta dodge.
2.     What was Faye's past?
Ok let me start by saying Faye is my wife and my life. HOWEVER I hated her the first time I watched this show circa age 13 because I thought she was annoying/vain/shallow (also because #internalizedmisogyny lol am I right fam). Good news! She is all those things! But she's also very lonely and scared and an amnesiac and secretly a sweetie and she realizes she loves the crew of the Bebop like family.
Tumblr media
SO my wife's backstory:
she was born in the 1990s (#only90skidsremember). There's some debate over her race/nationality, but due to the images of her hanging out in Merlion Park in Singapore, my bet is that she's Singaporean. She comes from a wealthy family with a big house, and we see some utterly *adorable* film of her as a child/young adolescent in Session 18: Speak Like a Child. I cry everytime </3
Tumblr media
^^ Holla for the representation
In 2014, circa age 20, she and her parents were going into space when the shuttle they were on had some kind of malfunction/accident and it killed an unknown number of people, including her parents. At the time, the technology didn’t exist to be able to save her, so she was put into a cryogenic sleep state. Meanwhile, the Lunar Gate accident occurs, breaking up the moon and causing rock showers on Earth's surface. Most people died, moved to Mars, or settled underground.
Tumblr media
She wakes up from her cryogenic sleep in 2068. (Also the year Spike leaves the syndicate.) She's 'woken' by the corrupt Dr. Bacchus who plans on charging her for the years and years of medical debt she's accrued. (See Session 15: My Funny Valentine.) Luckily a lawyer takes interest in her case (Whitney Haggus Matsumoto) and tries to help get rid of her debt. The two fall in love, but turns out Whitney is a Scumbag. He's actually Dr. Bacchus's nephew, and faked his death, writing Faye as the sole inheritor to his will. This means she'll take on all his debts. So baby girl has LOTS of debt at this point.
Tumblr media
In the intervening years prior to her joining the Bebop, she gambles, cheats, gains a lot of street smarts, and adopts a very seductive character to get her way. She joins the crew on the Bebop in Session 3: Honky Tonk Women.
TL;DR: Faye is Austin powers
YIKES this is so long I am so sorry. Bitches are obsessed with this show. (I am bitches)
3.     The Ending
Okay I'm going to present this in the way, in my scholarly opinion, would be correct, though there are SO many interpretations other than simply 'Spike died :/".
Tumblr media
To understand the plot of the last couple episodes we actually have to go back to Session 5: Mao is instructed* to sign a treaty with a rival syndicate called the White Tigers. (*He's instructed by The Van (Council of identical creepy old men) who are the actual head of the dragon. I think we only see them in Session 26.) Well - Vicious is a Bastard Man and he and his fellow mutineers blow up the White Tiger guys' ship and slit Mao's throat. Before he dies, Mao is like "Gotdamnit if Spike was still here this shit wouldn't have happened." Later in the Cathedral battle, Vicious explains to Spike he killed Mao because Mao 'lost his fangs'. He planned on killing Spike for good her, IMO, so there'd be no rival to take over as Capo for the Dragons.
Tumblr media
^^These guys are The Van btw
THEN in Session 25, the Van basically catches Vicious and is like “you killed Mao and now you have to go to Time Out.” The Van also decides to just kill everyone associated with Vicious, just 2 B safe. That's why there's a big ass shootout at the Loser Bar where Jet and Spike are chilling, drinking, (missing Faye and Ed and Ein lol) and Shin (younger brother to Lin, who's helping Vicious overthrow the Dragon) explains all this to Spike. OH and PS JULIA IS ALIVE AND HERE IS HER LOCATION :). (**Notice Spike's reaction at this point is different than his reaction in Jupiter Jazz when he hears there's a Julia on Calisto. Much less excited… hmm…).
Tumblr media
SO THEN you know we get some flashbacks of the past as previously explained *and* Julia just happens to run into Faye. She recognizes that Faye is one of Spike's friends from the Bebop (she was keeping tabs on him it seems) and picks her up. Faye doesn't know who Julia is but is like damn bitch I'm a little gay for you. (I mean … that may just be my bi ass projecting, but Faye is REALLY struck with her. Look at how she describes her to Jet, I mean come on.)
Faye's like, 'we should team up' and Julia says 'no thanks but also tell Spike to meet me at *the place*'. Meanwhile back on the Bebop Spike and Jet are talking and Spike goes on about some dream woman who was his other half. (We assume he means Julia … I have my reasons to doubt this … I have a lot of angry DMs about my opinion here lol but I just do not give a fuck (: I can expand on this in another post or you can refer to the title of my fucking blog haha) Personally, I think Watanabe personally left this specific scene open ended, the same way he does with the ending and various other things.
Tumblr media
more like SIMP Spiegel
ANYWAY Faye comes back to the Bebop to tell Spike about Julia, and Jet gets intel from a former cop buddy that there's some shit going down with the Dragons. (Again, the Van is hunting down everyone ever associated with Vicious, including your pal Spike). Bebop is attacked, Faye tells Spike what's up with Julia, and he heads out.
PAN TO VICIOUS chained up - about to be executed - but what's that!? It's a bird!? It's a pla- no it's just a bird. (With one glowing red eye … hm … reminds me of Spike, also the drug Red Eye. Pls let me know if you have any thoughts on this). Just a bird with a BOMB! Explosion (RIP bird c. 2065 - too soon), Vicious kills the elders, his buddies show up and are ready to go fuck shit up.
Tumblr media
this show could not be more of an aesthetic
MMMPhhh okay RAINY CEMETERY. Spike and Julia. She draws a gun, explains why she didn't meet him that day, and then hugs him. Now Spike is not *great* at showing his emotions but he literally just stands there. Maybe it's a stoic expression of how sad he is that he never knew she still cared, when it seemed like she dumped him. Maybe he's finally getting some closure on his past. Maybe the past doesn't mean the same thing it used to. (I'll elaborate later on this).
They go to Annie's to get stocked up on stuff, she lets them know she denied knowing Spike was still alive and hey also the Van was assassinated by Vicious and his guys so. Watch out for that. Then her shop is surrounded by Vicious' guys and she dies :(. Spike and Julia escape to the roof, but she's shot and dies in Spike's arms, and says 'it's all just a dream' :(. (Refer to: Spike living in a dream of the past).
Tumblr media
Anyway Jet SAID he wasn't gunna go after Spike but. Jet's parental instincts kick in (oh yeah he was shot in the leg earlier btw) and he goes to Sitting Bull to see if he knows where Spike is. He basically says yeah Spike's about to die somewhere. (I want to do a further analysis on all the Sitting Bull scenes.) Well conveniently Spike returns to the Bebop, eats, tells his story about a tiger-striped cat. (At one point Jet asks if he's going there for her, and Spike is like well she's dead now so whatever). THEN we get to the scene where Faye is like HEY YOU CAN'T GO OFF AND DIE ASSHOLE and he's like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I 've been living in the past so I might as well see if I'm living now. (**This will play heavily into my interpretation of the ending). Faye is pissed, shoots the ceiling and he goes off to the syndicate headquarters to fuck shit up.
Tumblr media
He basically John Wicks his way through the building, Shin dies, he and Vicious have the big boss battle and whatnot. He kills Vicious and stumbles back out down the stairs and says "Bang!" and collapses. We pan to the sky and see a star fade away.
Tumblr media
Well that explains the plot … now here's what I think happened!!! ALSO may I mention, anon - you picked up on something I feel like a lot of people miss out on. Why *did* Spike go back to kill Vicious if Julia was already dead??
Basically, once it became clear that anyone associated with Vicious was being killed, Spike knew they'd hunt him down, and they weren't beneath Kill-Billing their way to him, (i.e. systematically destroying this companions to get to him). And for all his apparent indifference - he really loves his new found family. Jet is literally like an older brother to him. Ed is a little sister. Ein is well … a very good boy. And Faye? Well the relationship is complicated, and I'm not going to get into the 69,420 reasons I ship them here, but I think it is beyond argument that he really does care for her, even if that just in a filial way. He didn't want the syndicates to kill them for their association to him, or in order to get to him. So he did what he had to do to protect them. *AND NO* I am not saying that he didn't love Julia. But it was clear that his desire was no longer to run away with her. I think he genuinely loved and cared about her, but at some point between Jupiter Jazz Pt 2 and now, he accepted that their time together was over. Now he had a new raison d'etre, which is the Bebop.
I think at this point Spike has 'woken up' to reality (as he implied to Faye in their final conversation in episode 26: "Look at these eyes. One of them is a fake, because I lost it in an accident. Since then, I have been seeing the past in one eye, and the present in the other. I had believed that what I saw was not all of reality...I thought I was watching a dream that I would never awaken from. Before I knew it, the dream was all over." (This is from the sub btw I'm too lazy to look up the dub transcript.) He wasn't going there to die, he's going to find out if he's really alive. This line is fucking cool and everything - but it's implications are multitude. I won't go into them all here but basically : what makes him alive now is that he's free from his past. He's alive because he has this new family and protecting them is all he really wants now. Spike was protecting Jet, Faye, Ed, (and Ein) by going and facing the entire syndicate, knowing that their lives would all be in danger.
SO - did Spike die? Well again - Watanabe has purposely and artfully left this open ended. Well, if we're following the symbolism from Sitting Bull, then yeah, the man is as dead as disco, and wouldn't that be a fitting ending? BUT at the same time, Spike always refers to having 'died' before (meaning when he was ambushed by the syndicate, and they all thought he died, and he pretty much did). Don't forget that in  movie (takes places roughly between episodes 22 + 23, and yes, was made AFTER the series but whatever) he like .. DIES dies. He goes to the afterlife and everything. He wakes up to find he's chilling with Sitting Bull, who's like nah it wasn't your time to die yet. So the fact Sitting Bull confirms Spike will die in the final episode, means yeah, Spike is pretty much dead.
BUT -- okay now hear me out -- could this death in the final episode be a death to his previous life? The person he was in the syndicate? Now that he's extinguished the Red Dragons for good, is it not possible that its merely *that* life which has ended? That's the optimist in me saying that, but if it keeps me from staying up all night crying, I guess it'll have to do. Watanabe definitely wants to leave it up to the viewer, so whatever you think, I feel like there's validity to it.
WELL any anon, sorry for the fucking lecture - and believe me, I could've said MUCH, MUCH more - but I enjoyed this question. I always love talking about this show so please all you fuckers feel free to message me or send an ask about anything any time. I am really slow at replying because #life'sAbitch.
Love you all.

eject, 1/5
“Overhaul, the League is going to be here soon.” Hari reminds his boss even as he carries Eri into the work lab and sets her on the chairs. He’d disagree with the other man, but still obey him. He was one of the only two who could ask Kai to reconsider an action, if only indirectly.
There wasn’t time to really start a session today. Not if Kai wanted to get anything done with Eri, or if he didn’t want to be late to the meeting.
But if he wanted to make the villains wait, no one would blame him. Not after the disastrous first encounter with them.
After Kai had agreed to go with Twice, followed of course by Hari, Mimic, and the Nine Expendables in secret, they’d ended up in a damp, dusty warehouse that wasn’t suitable for a bunch of truant graffiti artists to stash pot at, let alone the nation’s top terrorist organization to hide in.
But his boss had always been someone who had been able to make something useful and powerful from anything, and Hari was sure this would be no different.
Even as he hid in his crow’s nest and watched through his scope as Shigaraki made a fool of himself and one of his members lunged forwards with a large metal stick.
The cost for touching Kai was high, and finally brought some satisfaction to Hari.
The League shrieked and howled at the sight of a member after being Overhauled, and the ignorant girl who’d asked about the Yakuza from the start was up in a flash, knives glinting and teeth bared as she cried out for her big sister.
Something about that was almost familiar, from someone who’d been raised to consider his fellow criminals his brothers.
Though, more familiarity came from the way his heart raced at the sign of a threat.
While the girl would be easy enough for Kai to stop with a touch, a launched knife thrown at point blank range would be harder to stop with his quirk.
So Hari acted instead, aiming and shooting and hitting the girl in the shoulder before he could go from one blink to the next.
The injector bullet went into her skin, and she flinched back, holding to her weapon as she tucked into a fish roll to get back from Kai and the shooter- and the thing that had just emerged from the side of her arm.
“NO, BIG-SIS MAGNE!” Twice screamed before asking in a different tone, “How the hell, did he clone Toga-chan, does he have a quirk like mine?”
The so called clone- actually a quirk phantom- stood and looked around with wide eyes.
It did look a lot like Toga- same clothes, same stature, same everything.
“Woah.” It said, looking at the kitchen knife and metal straw it held in either hand. “This is new.”
“What.” Shigaraki said, seemingly as torn as Twice was between the two main issues at hand, even if it was far below the surface of his scratchy voice and his hand-covered face.
The quirk phantom looked to him as he spoke, then followed his gaze back to the fallen comrade. “Oh! Oh, Magnetism…”
It moved and knelt by what was left of the woman’s body, then placed the straw in its mouth and began to suck, while its free hand moved the knife to her thigh and carved a shaky cut. Good placement, for all it needed to be deeper and faster to get more blood out without needing a straw.
Twice shrieked.
“What are you doing, Fake Crazy?” Tomura demanded. “Where did that even- what’s your quirk?” He looked at Kai, then upwards. “Or perhaps I should ask what the quirk of the guy who just shot her is.”
“Not our quirks.” Kai shook his head. “That’s hers. I’ve just removed it from her body. I wouldn’t recommend she drink any blood before they merge back together. Besides being disgusting in every way, she might not be able digest it like she normally does without that filthy quirk of hers in her body.”
The quirk paused in slurping blood to turn it’s head slightly, glaring at Kai.
Hari tensed, preparing to switch guns. The phantoms didn’t seem all there, but there was something solid in them, and it’d give Kai time at least if it attacked.
“Why are you- that’s big sis.” Toga stared at the phantom as if seeing for the first time how wrong it all was.
The phantom looked back at her, then sighed. “Hime-chan, this is the last of her. If we don’t take this now, we’ll never get to see her again. Do you have any vials?”
Toga slowly nodded and moved to collect the blood.
The League all was focused on watching the girl and her quirk pick over the corpse- all but Shigaraki, who looked between the phantom to Kai.
“Removed from her body.” He repeated, sounding interested. “I see. Well, get out of here. I’ll call you with my answer.”
“See that you do.” Kai always had to have the last word as he pulled a business card out of his pocket and dropped it, then spun on his heal to leave.
Hari had waited until he was out of the building before he got out of his crow’s nest.
Shigaraki had eventually called the Hassaikai as he said he would- interrupting another session with Eri, actually- and decided to send some allies to join them as phase one.
Now, they were due to meet them in ten minutes, but Kai had still called Hari to bring Eri to the lab at the usual time.
“Yes.” Kai moved to another cabinet. “But we’ve only managed to perfect three permanent bullets. Each requires a week of work, and I’m not going to be delayed further by Shigaraki’s forces.” He removed a white injector- shaped not unlike an epipen.
He flipped the cap up, then jammed the needle into his forearm.
Hari’s mouth dropped open behind his mask.
A shadow shifted behind Kai, changing shape and color until another stood next to him- this Kai looked younger, like he had in his late teenage years. He wore lab clothes, his white button up shirt rolled to his elbows, an apron over him, and a simple facemask rather than a bird themed one.
He had no gloves on.
It was so interesting, how different people’s quirk phantoms sometimes looked like them, sometimes looked different. Hari, personally, thought it had something to do with how a person perceived their quirk. How important it was to them. Hence, Rappa- and that Toga villain- were nearly identical to the phantom. A slave to their quirk. It was comforting in some way, to see that Kai wasn’t.
Not that he’d ever dare vocalize that, but still. It helped him relax as Kai looked over the phantom. This dream his oldest friend had was one he didn’t think would get this far, but now he knew it wasn’t merely because an itch pushed Kai to break down and build up whatever was close to him.
No, this plan was all Kai’s.
And knowing that made it easier for Hari to believe in it.
Kai looked over his phantom, gold eyes harsh, then nodded.
“Good. Today we need to take the stabilizing samples from-“
“I know what we need to do.” Overhaul cut Kai off. “I have done it before after all. With you.”
Blinking, Kai seemed like he didn’t know how to react to that. Hari had been a bit taken aback too, no one talked to the boss like that, but it was almost nostalgic too, coming from what looked like a younger Kai’s lips.
“I will need to test overhauling a few things first, this form is different.” He- It, Hari reminded himself, it- looked at its bare hands.
Kai slowly nodded. “Of course. Chrono will assist you when you begin, I’ll go meet with the League.”
The phantom, which had been picking up small pieces of equipment and overhauling them out off and into shape, looked up sharply at that.
“You’re meeting with the League. Without me.”
“Yes, we just said-“
“Without me. You’re quirkless, right now.” Overhaul’s voice was not confined to sounding young, apparently, as he looked at Kai like he was dense. “And you’re going in alone, after you killed one of their members.”
Kai was quiet for a moment, for two, for three. Hari felt the danger build, and swallowed.
Then Kai nodded. “Ok, I’ll take Chrono. Ask Saito or Yamada as assistants when you get to the post-settlement stage.”
With that, he left, and Hari, as ever, followed him.
As the door shut behind them, Kai spoke again. “Chrono. Under no circumstance are you to shoot Toga with the eraser bullet again. I do not want to deal with two of that filth running around my home.”
“Of course, Boss. And if Twice decides to just do that on his own?”
“Then keep Twice from using his quirk.”
“Yes, Boss.”

Dunno why this came to mind...maybe calculating Jakurai’s deal here...Who knows but here I am imagining how much schooling these boys have gone through.
As a note, I am not saying their schooling level as any jab to them. All people are different. Some would prefer going to school, some do not have the opportunity and some have other things to do. It really is many reasons why they would or wouldn’t go on. And I’m just guessing what I think they’ve done based off information we have of them.
Buster Bros!!!
Ichiro I feel only completed compulsory school and some of high school. He was too busy supporting the orphanage and his brothers to really keep up with it. And considering Yorozuya Yamada is likely their only source of income, he hasn’t really gone back either. I don’t that particularly bothers Ichiro since while he wasn’t bad at school he wouldn’t say he liked it either.
Jiro is at the age where he didn’t have to go to school anymore but Ichiro made him stay. As it was just better options for Jiro if he does finish school. He also doesn’t go to cram school as 1) he can’t stand school as is, 2) he likely goes to help Ichiro with the business and 3) there’s a chance they can’t afford to send him. Despite the latest drama tracks, I don’t see school being a point of contention between them even if Jiro doesn’t like school. I don’t see him pursuing a traditional higher education, if he even goes at all.
Saburo is still in compulsory school as far as I understand so it’s not really a question of if he goes. But obviously Ichiro would want him to stay. Especially him because he’s good at it and seems to like it. That and it might help Saburo’s social skills to have to be around kids his age. For the most of the same reasons, Saburo doesn’t do cram school either. If anything he probably could tutor if he didn’t get so easily frustrated with people. I do feel he could make it to the top schools when he gets older but I see an interest in going overseas for uni.
Mad Trigger Crew
Samatoki I don’t think went past compulsory schooling. He was too busy with yakuza stuff to really deal with school. I see him getting into a lot of fights over his background, namely badmouthing of his parents. He probably had Nemu stay though because he wanted her to have options. I think he’s really good with money even though he probably hasn’t had to worry about it for a long time
Jyuto I initially was gonna say did go to college but researching a little bit, he probably didn’t. He only would need to finish high school and pass exams. Which I feel he was prepared for. Like I think he’s been set on being a cop for a long time and worked for that. Which is why I’ll also go out on a limb and say that in high school this boy was a runner so he was also in shape for his training when he passed exams. I also think Jyuto was a good boy student.
Rio likely went into military service as soon as he could, which I believe is 18 over there. It’s a little harder to tell about how the service was since the world of hypmic is one that had another war, so it’s likely his time was busier than what it would be normally for someone in the navy. He absolutely could’ve gone to uni and come back to get a better rank but I don’t think Rio really cared about that aspect of it. (This man knows communications and some hacking, you cannot tell me he couldn’t have gone far) I will say he likely took advantage of his half-American status and is fluent in English as it would’ve been useful for joint exercises with the states. I think the dissolution of the navy really shot him in the foot but he’s just too resourceful to keep down with that.
Fling Posse
Ramuda...obviously didn’t. And I don’t think his records would show anything. Like if it had to show anything, it would probably show him going to a super large school where it’s completely possible no one knows who the hell he was (because he was never there). And if he was based off someone, he likely had some of his credentials taken from them. He understand the culture of schooling though, I mean his style and personality does seem to draw girls high school age and older.
Gentaro is pretty hard to imagine to be honest. I don’t see him enjoying his school life and being around classmates for an extended amount of time. And while I think he could’ve spent some time in academia in literary research, I also see him finding it way too stuffy for writing. But I think ultimately...he went to uni for a short time. For some reason I just don’t see him vibing with how the system is for it.
Dice did not. I don’t think he finished high school although he could’ve if he wanted. But he probably avoids it because it’d be an easier way to keep track of him and run contrary to his stray sort of life style.
Matenrou
Jakurai...is a doctor...I sure HOPE he went to school for his profession. So he studied some of the stuff you need for doctoring during his time as an assassin but he didn’t actually go into studying to be a doctor until he quit his killing at 23. He probably went into the national defense medical college, which seems to be 6 year program but you have an extra 2-3 years of compulsory service with it. I think he likely finished his compulsory service, at the latest, a year before the Dirty Dawg timeline. Or OR he faked his schooling and just knew the equivalent knowledge from his time as an assassin and was able to pass his exams and later studied whatever he lacked. He’s basically fully legally certified NOW, don’t worry...
Hifumi I just can’t see going past high school. Like I’ve always seen the incident happening in his last year of high school and it made it difficult for him to even finish. And considering he claimed in the first Matenrou drama track that he didn’t find a way to live with his phobia until he was 20...I don’t think he went. Not that he would’ve been interested in it. Hifumi is interested in what he likes and wouldn’t want to put the effort either way. I don’t think he really cares and he has more than enough skills (and money) to do just about whatever he wants.
Doppo likely went to uni. He couldn’t get into the real prestigious schools and knew he couldn’t so just went for wherever he could get into rather than wait to test again. I feel like his degree is in either accounting or business. I think he had a part-time while in school to pay for it since it seems like his family might not be as well off or he didn’t want to burden his parents (in a passing conversation I think he mentioned paying for his brother’s exams or schooling). For some reason I also can see him having a minor in biology because I see him either knowing a lot about plants or knowing a lot about marine life. What kind of person just thinking of a water flea for like a small creature?
Dotsuitare Hompo
Sasara I feel like he didn’t go past high school. Not that he couldn’t. Just that he didn’t find a need to? Not when he was set on going into comedy. Like it was either make it or be trapped with his family. And he was hard noooope.
Rosho....is a teacher? I sure HOPE he went for his teaching certificate. I don’t think he was going to initially and might not have while he was doing the comedy game with Sasara? Their time line is a little fuzzy, I haven’t found the indicator of if Rosho and Sasara disbanded before he went to MCD or after. If it was before, then yes he went to school after they disbanded. If not, then he was in school while doing the manzai thing. So yeah dual major of mathematics (or statistics) and education (he didn’t need both but I have faith in him).
Rei most definitely went to fucking uni. This bastard would let you think he didn’t but he did. He’s probably a fucking doctor or just shy of it. Drives me mad. Why am I sure? Because if Rei is behind the hypnosis mics. As in the designer and/or inventor of it, he is a scientist or engineer of some type. I see him having a degree in either biotechnology or neuroscience. I learn towards the latter because I feel like he also got a minor in psychology (or y’know what, business is possible too for a minor). Just to mess with people.
Bad Ass Temple
Kuko I feel was the same as Ichiro in that he went to high school but not necessarily finishing it. I don’t believe he would’ve had to...if anything he’s gone back to his teachings at his temple. Yet it seems he doesn’t do that either so I’m not sure. I just don’t think he did anything past high school.
Jyushi I think he might’ve just finished high school? I don’t know if he was just finishing or he’s soon to be doing exams. But I think he’s going to finish regardless. Y’know I feel like Jyushi would’ve liked going to uni. I can’t think of what he’d go to school for though! Would it be adding too much work to a passion if he did something with music theory?
Hitoya...is a lawyer? So yeah? And you have to wonder if Hitoya is a masochist or loves to learn or what have you. Because he was in medical school WITH Jakurai. And then when they part ways, he quits and then goes into LAW. Are you kidding me? Hitoya, Hitoya please...I looked it up, he HAS to be a masochist! Law in Japan is super hard to get into! It has one of the most difficult bar exams to exist! What are you doing, man??? Although...I think Hitoya is still fairly new as a lawyer though because him starting when I assume Jakurai started school at 23, would have him only being fully practicing for 5 years. And that’s assuming he dropped out the first year and not later...which would only shrink he years outside. Unless whatever he got for his bachelors was applicable for law too (behavioral science?)...either way, yes he’s done it and he sure does do a lot to beat a guy that doesn’t even know they’re competing.

"Daddy," you whimpered, grinding down on Hari's growing erection and pulling on his tie. "Daddy please I need you."
Weakly, the silver haired man pushed you down and away from him. You were going to be the death of him one of these days.
"Please," he protested, grabbing your hips to still you on him. "We can’t. Not here."
He was in the private library of your father’s estate. Hari rarely ever had time to himself and decided to wind down the day in the cozy privacy of the library.
Kurono Hari, right hand man to the leader of the nation's most feared criminal organizations, Chisaki Kai, did not have much of a love life. This didn't bother him in the least. Cold and callous, Hari didn't understand the need for love, fearing it would only get in the way of better serving Kai. That was until you, Kai’s only daughter, had pushed yourself onto him.
You had been out drinking with friends and had called Hari to pick you up, per your father’s request, refusing to allow you to the risk of a riding in a pubic taxi. Those were breeding grounds for diseases. You were too important.
As Hari drove you back to your estate, your fingers danced along Hari’s thighs over his crisp black pants, nails scratching him ever so lightly.
“It’s so hot,” you had whined, slipping out of your fluffy white fur half jacket. You wore your black mini dress, the one that hugged your chest and every other beautiful curve. The one with the tiny slit in the side to show the slightest peek of your thighs. The one that drove Hari absolutely mad.
Hari couldn’t help but to glance, but thankful that he had to focus on the road and couldn’t risk ogling at you.
“I can turn on the air, Miss,” Hari coughed. Eyes straight ahead on the road. The way his grip tightened on the wheel did not go unnoticed by you.
“No, it’s fine. That jacket was beginning to get itchy anyways.”
After Hari had pulled into the gated driveway of your estate, he tried to unbuckle his seatbelt, fumbling in his hurry to get away from you and take care of his growing need.
“Hari,” you called. You felt your heart pounding in your ears and prayed that Hari couldn’t hear it as well. You had never used his given name before, only his family name or the old nickname your father had given him when they were younger.
Hari froze upon hearing you. He let go of the seat belt, letting it snap back against the car with a clink that got lost in the thick air between the two of you, and slowly turned to face you. You had crawled over the center console and were no more than a few centimeters away from him, gazing at him with those bright starry eyes.
Before either of you knew it, you had crashed forward onto Hari, crawling fully out of your passenger seat to sit in his lap in the driver seat to smash your lips against his in a frenzied kiss.
She’s drunk. She’s drunk. She’s drunk. Hari chanted in his mind like a personal mantra. He could taste the lingering alcohol on your tongue. Yet he continued to kiss you, not finding the strength within himself to pull away. This is wrong.
Finally, the lack of air became too much, and you pulled away from Hari, the both of you panting and fogging up the driver window.
“I’m not drunk,” you said after a few moments to regain your breath. “Only enough to give me the confidence to finally act on this.”
“Act on…on what?” Hari trailed. The lack of air flow to his brain caused him to get drunk off you.
“Don’t play dumb with me, old man. I see the way you look at me, like you just want to swallow me whole. And believe it or not, I want you too” you sprinkled kisses along Hari’s neck and jaw. “For months now, all I’ve wanted is you. I want you on me, all over me, in me.”
You had ended the night in a heated tangle of limbs and breathless promises against foggy windows that it was just that one time.
It was supposed to be just the once, but Hari couldn’t get enough of you, and you couldn’t get enough of him. Once turned into twice, which turned into every possible moment, as little as sneaking glances across a room or stolen kisses as Hari played his part as your chauffeur. You loved the thrill of quickies in Hari’s office, teasing him under his desk until the usually composed man broke and bent you over said desk. Hari would never forget the one night your father was out and he had stayed the night with you in your luxurious four poster canopy bed. Hari let you push him down on the soft down comforters, giggling the whole time.
Hari never felt younger. The excitement that came with the secrecy had added a spring to his tired, worn steps. You felt like you had blossomed. There was a glow about you and a spring in your every step. You were like Romeo and Juliet, except Juliet was the daughter of a yakuza leader, and Romeo was said leader's most trusted, and perhaps only, friend.
About a month into your little affair, Hari realized that he loved you, but he never pushed it, afraid that to you he was nothing but a thrill. You were young, and could easily drop someone as old as Hari, who up until recently would have contented himself to being simply a father figure.
While he was reading in the plush, red chair illuminated by the glow of the crackling fireplace you had slipped into the library. The high back of the chair faced away from you, allowing you to sneak behind Hari.
“What’re you doing?” you asked, poking your head around the back of the chair to peer at the rather small book in his hands.
Hari jumped at the sudden sound of your voice before dropping his book on the floor with an unceremonious flop.
“Nothing to concern yourself with," he said. "Just thought I’d read a bit since I had some free time."
“Why didn’t you come see me?” You pouted before moving around the chair to face Hari.
Finally seeing you, Hari noticed you had dolled up. Your cheeks were flush with blush and eyes round with black liner. Your lips were Hari’s favorite shade of red.
You were wearing your favorite, his favorite, robe: sheer black with fur lined cuffs and edges; gracing the floor and trailing behind you long. The robe that screamed, “I didn’t kill my husband, officer, I promise,” or in your case, “I’m the daughter of the nation’s most feared mafia leader and sleeping with his equally terrifying right hand.” In short, the robe meant power, and you were all too aware of the power you held over Hari.
“I thought you were asleep.”
You looked at Hari through thick lashes and quirked an eyebrow in silent question: “really?”
“Clearly, I’m awake, and truthfully, I’m having an awful time falling asleep Mr. Kurono.”
“Kai’s home.” Hari hoarsely whispered, his throat going dry.
His excuses and protests fell upon deaf ears and altogether stopped when you shed that fateful robe to reveal black lace underneath. You settled yourself into his lap, straddling his now hard length teasing you from under his suit pants. With your smaller hands planted firmly on his shoulders, you gave a slow roll of your hips, moaning softly.
“Daddy, please,” you whined, rolling against him once again.
“We should stop.” Thick hands gave a gentle squeeze on your hips.
“Hari, please,” you whispered, looking up at him from under your lashes, stars in your eyes.
How could he ever say no to you, the only woman he had allowed himself to fall in love with?
Hari cupped your face in his strong hands, holding your gaze for a moment before descending down on your lips in a hungry kiss. Your arms came up off the chair to wrap around Hari’s neck, pulling him deeper into you as your mouths melted together.
This is wrong, Hari always told himself. He was old enough to be your father, even if just barely. Yet, Hari never found the strength to pull away from you completely, melting in chocolate left out on a hot summer’s day the moment you laid your sweet round eyes on him and called out to him in your honeyed voice. It was supposed to be just that one night, but you had managed to wrap him around your delicate, manicured finger, and Hari was willing to take a bullet for you not out of loyalty to your father but of love for you. You were going to be the death of Kurono Hari.
Hari stood, strong hands holding your ass as you continued to kiss. He laid you gently on the deep red rug by the fire, holding you tight against him as though he were afraid you could slip right out of his grasp. He trailed kisses down your neck and along your collarbone.
“This has to go,” Hari breathed against your sternum and tugged on the lace covering you from him.
You giggled before pushing yourself up, Hari moving to give you the space to sit up and unclasp the black lace. You tossed your bra away just in front of the fireplace. Once undressed, you tugged on Hari’s tie, pulling him down to eye level.
“Your turn,” your breath washed over Hari, causing him to fall deeper into the spell of you.
Hari wasted no time. Loosening his tie just enough to slip out of it before hastily undoing the buttons of his crisp white shirt. He tossed them both on the seat of the chair then dove back down to swallow you in a greedy kiss.
He crawled back over you to force you back down to lay under him. One large hand kneaded at your breast while his mouth enclosed on the other one, sucking until your nipple had grown hard.
With a lewd pop, Hari pulled off of your breast to give attention to its twin and rolled your wet and sensitive bud between his fingers.
“You’re delicious,” Hari breathed against your skin, causing goosebumps to prickle. He continued trailing kisses down your navel until he reached more black lace.
Slowly, as if to savor every second, Hari pulled your panties off of you. You had already grown wet from your earlier grinding, and his kisses did nothing to help.
“Lift up for me, baby girl” he said, tugging on the lace.
You obeyed, lifting your hips enough to allow Hari to shimmy the scanty soaked fabric off of you before throwing it to be with his discarded clothes.
With nothing barring you from him, Hari pulling your legs onto his shoulders. He gave teasing nips and kisses up each of your thighs, delighting in your pussy’s clenching.
“Please, Daddy,” you begged breathlessly. “I need you.”
Hari dragged a finger up your dripping slit before spreading your lower lips.
“You have such a pretty pussy,” he cooed. “And I just love how it tastes, too.”
With that, Hari licked a teasing strip along your pussy before giving a flick of his tongue to your clit. His lips enclosed on your clit, sucking on the sensitive bud. You moaned at the contact. In earnest, like it was his last meal, Hari drank in everything you had to offer.
He poked a teasing finger at your hot entrance as he continued to suck at your clit.
“Hari, please,” you bucked your hips and grabbed his silver locks in an attempt to gain more contact, more friction.
Hari held you down and shushed at you.
“Patience, baby girl. I got you.”
He pushed the finger into you to the knuckle, feeling your sticky walls pulse around him at finally being filled with something. Sparks flew up your spine, heating your body with every curl of Hari’s thick finger.
As your cries grew in volume, Hari knew you were reaching your end. He added a second finger, relishing in the ease with which he could slip into you.
“Please Hari, please,” you cried. “I want to cum.”
Curling his fingers to hit the spot he knew would push your over your edge, Hari hummed against your clit.
“Cum for me then, baby girl. Come on Daddy’s face.”
That was the last push you needed. Your grip on Hari’s hair tightened as you pushed his face further into you. Your mouth fell open in silent cries of Hari’s name, and you swore you saw stars dancing along the library’s high ceiling above you.
As you were climbing back down from your high, Hari pulled away just enough to rid himself of the rest of his constricting clothes. You drank in your lover’s face, his chin glistening with your juices in the flickering light of the fireplace, while he admired your body, the way the color of your skin complimented the deep red of the carpet below perfectly.
Hari crawled towards you once the last of his clothes had been discarded to lay with the rest. Holding his thick cock in his hand, he dragged it up your convulsing heat, collecting your slick.
“Is this what you wanted, baby girl?” he teased, smirking down at you.
You were in no mood for games and immediately set to begging.
“Yes, Hari! Please,” you whined.
“Anything for you. You’re such a good girl.”
Hari laid back down on you, placing his hands on either side of your face. He placed sweet kisses along your temple as he pushed into you. While he wasn’t the longest, Hari was thick and stretched you in all the right ways. You were always hot and welcoming.
You hissed at the initial burn, going from Hari’s finger to his cock was always a welcome stretch. You clawed at his back as Hari pulled out slowly, only to slam back into you, his tip kissing your cervix with every thrust.
“Daddy! There!” you wailed as Hari hit your sweet spot.
Hari set a steady pace, not wanting to go too fast to ruin the romantic atmosphere, but already halfway to his end from teasing you. This was your favorite, and Hari knew you wouldn’t last long with the feeling of the slow drag of his cock pulling out of your tightness.
Your hot, gummy walls seemed to pull him into you, as though you were made for him and him alone. You fit him like a glove, wrapping perfectly around his cock and pulsing around him. You could say the same of Hari, as the man was curved just enough to hit against your sensitive spot with every push and pull of his cock.
"Hari!” you squeaked as Hari hit that sweet spot within you. “Hari, I love you.”
Hari stilled.
“What did you say?” he asked, steel eyes bored into yours.
“I love you.”
“Do you mean it?”
“Yes.”
Hari felt like his heart would burst. He bent down to swallow your lips in a hungry kiss.
“I love you. I love you. I love you,” Hari panted into your mouth before moving to kiss your jaw, your neck, chest, and any place his lips could find, continuing his chants of love between every warm kiss.
Just hearing those three little words were enough to drive Hari to his end, his kisses getting wetter and his thrusts sloppier with each passing “I love you”. With wet kisses to swallow each other’s moans, it didn’t take long for either of you to finish. You threw your head back with a cry of Hari’s name and he sunk his teeth into the soft skin of your shoulder.
Hari understood why they called it “la petite mort”, a little death. Laying on you, dizzy with breathlessness and lulled by the soft, rhythmic sound of your pulse, Hari felt that he could, and possibly should, die in that moment, and you were an angel come to take him away.
A bang on the door brought Hari back to life and sent you both scrambling for your clothes.
“Shit. Shit. Shit.” You pulled your robe over you, as Hari slipped on his pants.
You hid behind Hari, soft hand clutching his shoulders, and waited for whatever was behind the door. Deep in your heart you already knew. You buried your face into Hari’s back and cried.
Hearing your soft sobs behind him, Hari felt his heart sinking, knowing already how the night was to play out.
━━━━━━━━━━━♡♤♡━━━━━━━━━━
Chisaki Kai was not a man to be ruled by his emotions. When it comes to you, his sweet daughter, his good girl, he occasionally bent this rule. You were supposed to stay pure and innocent, stay clean, not be tainted by some perverted older man who had committed acts that would have your skin crawling in fear of him.
Kai slammed his glass down, spilling the smooth, honey colored whiskey over the edges and onto the wooden desk, dripping down onto the plush carpet.
Your smile had grown a little brighter, your face full of life, like a little girl experiencing her first love. Kai had simply assumed it was a fleeting and childish crush on someone from your university, not Hari, a man who had watched you grow up, practically raised you alongside himself.
Everything added up. The glances and sly smiles you exchanged when you thought Kai wasn’t looking. Hari’s newfound eagerness to stay late nights or to act as your personal chauffeur. How could he been so stupid? And how long exactly had it been going on?
Kai knew that Hari was no saint. Having ruthlessly carried out countless inhuman orders of his, Kai did not expect Hari to possess the most accurate moral compass. Kai knew he had not been the present father you deserved, and to Kai, Hari had taken advantage of that. Not only had Hari stooped to new lows of pandering to your daddy issues. Hari had betrayed the man who had given him everything, the man he had sworn allegiance to above all things. All just to get his cock wet.
Kurono Hari was a dead man.
Kai took in a deep breath before picking up his phone and dialing Hari’s number.
“Kurono,” he said blankly as soon as the man in question picked up.
“Yes, sir?”
“I need you to come to my office immediately.”
“Yes, sir. Right away.”
Before Hari could ask for further details, Kai hung up.
As he waited for Hari to arrive, Kai took the liberty of lighting a cigarette.
Within a few minutes, Kai heard a few gentle knocks on his magnificent oak doors before they freaked open. Hari stepped in.
“Sir?” he asked. “You called for me?”
“Kurono,” Kai said as Hari made his way further into the office. “Do you know why I called you?”
Hari felt like a schoolboy being called into the principal’s office.
“Chrono,” Hari flinched at the use of the nickname Kai had given him in their youth. “You’re my best friend. My only friend.”
“Yes, sir.”
“You wouldn’t do anything to betray me.”
“No, sir.”
“Why are you lying to me, Chrono?”
“Sir, I don’t—“
“How long have you been fucking my daughter, Kurono? And how long did you think it would last?”
Hari froze, his blood chilling with fear.
“Do you understand the danger you could put her in if the wrong person found out she was romantically involved with you?” Kai continued.
Hari had understood you to be invaluable even before due to your position as the sole Chisaki heir. Now, you were important not only to Kai, but to Hari as well. Hari shuttered to think about what could happen if you fell into the hands of an enemy.
“Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t kill the both of you now.”
“She’s your daughter, sir.”
“That didn’t stop you.”
“Sir, please. I love her.”
“And does she love you?”
“I don’t know, sir.”
“I guess we’ll just have to find out.”
Hari swallowed thickly.
“Yes, sir.”
You really were about to be the death of Kurono Hari.
━━━━━━━━━━━♡♤♡━━━━━━━━━━
After a few more loud bangs for theatrics, the library door flew open to reveal your father. Kai stalked towards the two of you, golden eyes on fire.
“You’re a dead man, Kurono,” Kai said, voice devoid of emotion.
Without hesitation, Kai reeled a fist back to slam into the side of Hari’s head. You screamed as Hari stumbled back.
Kai didn’t relent despite your crying, beating Hari with his fist until the man dropped to his knees. Watery silver eyes looked up to meet crazed golden ones. Hari gasped for breath as Kai landed another blow on him, this time knocking Hari completely over.
Your screams continued as your father continued to beat your lover, blood spilling onto the matching red carpet. Hari had fallen on his side and was coughing more blood as Kai kicked him. A fierce kick to the ribs followed by a sickening crack sent you running to stop your father.
“Daddy, please,” you sobbed, dropping to your knees and clutching your father’s pants. Your tears caused your mascara to run down your cheeks and drip on the carpet below. “Daddy, please don’t.”
“Don’t you dare call me that!” Kai pushed you away, but you clung tight. “Not after you called this piece of filth by that same dirty name when he’s buried in your whorish cunt. You will address me with the proper respect.”
“Father, please don’t hurt him. I’m begging you.” You tugged at Kai’s leg in a pitiful attempt to keep him from swinging at Hari.
Instead, Kai simply kicked you off of him before pulling Hari up by his hair, the beaten man coughing and spitting blood as he set his half-focused gaze on you. Kai tapped the barrel of the gun against Hari’s temple, blood matting the hair to his skull.
“Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t pull this trigger.” His glowing yellow eyes locked onto your puffy ones, wet with tears.
Hari weakly opened his eyes to see your pained face. To see such an expression on you was enough to kill him. Your makeup running off your cheeks in streams of tears and snot, your mouth hanging open in utter agony. Even if he got to spend the rest of his days with you, he’d never forgive himself for putting you through this.
“Please,” you choked on a sob. “I love him. Please.”
Kai took a deep breath before releasing Hari from his grasp. The broken man fell heavily to the floor and coughed up blood. You ran to catch your lover.
“You are both dead to me,” Kai looked down at the pair of you in disgust. “If I so much as sniff you in my territory, I will not hesitate to kill you. Do you understand?”
You weakly nodded while clutching Hari’s bruised and bloodied body.
“Good. Now get out, both of you.”
“Father?”
“I said get out!”
“Come on,” you whispered gently to Hari as you wrapped one of his arms around your shoulders to help him off the ground. “Come on, love. Hari. Hari, stand up. Come on. We have to get you to a doctor.”
Weakly, Hari managed to stand up and lean against you, limping out of the library with you. Unknown to you, Hari had snuck the small book he had been reading previous to your little rendezvous into the back of his pants.
Kai had drafted up the death certificates for the both of you immediately after his little meeting with Hari. Though he had originally planned to shoot you both dead, Kai realized that this could be a way to keep you out of this bloody life, of which you had shown no previous interest in.
Kai had passports ready for the both of you under new names and had even set up bank accounts in another country under these names with enough to keep you comfortable in someplace new.
Prior to sending him off to the library for “late night reading”, Kai had snuck these passports, along with airline tickets to the other side of the world, to Hari.
Officially, Kurono Hari was a dead man.
