As Joel starts to shave him, Charlie feels the tension crawl back into his body. He’s entirely vulnerable. The razor is sharp against his skin, and he can feel the slight tug as Joel pulls it across his jawline. He tries to focus on something else, anything else, but he can't help noticing the way Joel's breath feels warm against the back of his neck, or the way his fingers feel as they tilt his head this way and that.

For a moment, he imagines what it would be like to lean back and let Joel take control, to let him guide not just the razor but everything else in his life.

But then, something goes wrong. Joel slips, and the razor nicks Charlie's chin. He hisses in pain and opens his eyes, glaring at Joel through the mirror.

"What the hell, man?" he snaps.
