eddie's soulmate has the expected spikes of being in dangerous situations but then it starts lingering in orange for a couple days here, a week there, and then sometime after that kid goes missing the meter just spikes red, and then it continues to go from green to red for a day or so, usually whenever weird shit is already happening, and eddie has so many questions

I really wanna know how many K-9 detection blunders stem from the dog and how much is influenced by their handlers being cops who want the dog to alert to something or are more likely to interpret random behaviors as the dog alerting

Like I'd love to see a test comparing the aptitude of cop/K-9 teams, civilian trainer/K-9 teams, cop/civilian dog teams, and civilian trainer/civilian dog teams who have all had extensive scent training. I'm sure there's a huge human component and some clever hans phenomena at play there

If dogs had this much margin of error when scent tracking how are they being used for successful detection in so many other fields when not trained by cops lol

I did a home visit with a client who had 3 pit bulls locked in the backyard and after I told her her kids had to go to relatives (meth labs in the house are a big no no) she literally opened her back gate to let her dogs out, but I was so focused on my phone calls arranging relative placements and writing up a safety plan that when I saw the dogs coming at me I just went, “hey babies! hey babies! are you good babies? you’re good babies! you’re all very good babies!’ and they all stopped at my feet and let me pet them so I continued doing my work not even realizing she fucking let them out on purpose I guess in the hopes they would maul me to death or whatever, the cops told me what she did after I was packing up to leave 😂 I was like ‘she did WHAT?!?!?’ I was so shocked lmao like wtf???
