I know this has probably already been said but….the fact that there is that little bit of static/noise when they are (most likely) lying just adds to the feeling of us as the viewers being a part of the fears(?)—more than tma every did even with the connection to the Web. Because that tiny deviation just solidifies that we are this thing listening them, and knowing things about them, that they have no control over. They supposedly can’t even lie. For we will simply know. We know them. They aren’t allowed to be unknown to us and longer it goes on the further we encroach.
Again this is all based on the idea that we are more so representing/actually are something of note. Other than the tapes. Mostly because I really enjoy the idea of that.
The littlest things, such as following them around, makes what is functionally us…feel more alive.
Not even can their words be concealed to the things that are slowly being filtered through, for we are a filter too.

There's a small music detail that I noticed while binging the Murder Drones soundtrack for the 30th time (Dont judge)
A thing i notice alot in music is leitmotifs (A recurrent theme associated with a particular person, idea or situation)
The Murder Drones all collectively have a leitmotif involving what sounds like alarm sirens, whispers and orchestral instruments, whereas Workers have more technical/digital ones.
From what we've seen of the Human characters so far, they seem… older, using more antiquated instruments if i had to guess.
So in the ost 'Get Prommed' at 3:33 onwards, we hear a leitmotif of Disassembly Required before I realised something
That might be UZI'S theme/leitmotif
Just something neat i noticed that might not even make sense to anyone who knows even a tiny bit about music.
This also isn't a one time thing as well, it shows up again in 'Buddies chilling but outside'

Why Light Snow is an Illusion Ability (A Theory)
(I put a Tl;dr at the end if you don’t want to read my ramblings)
Tumblr media
I’m going to start this by saying that I’m typing this out on mobile in a car so the formatting will probably be shit. I’m sorry about that. The other thing I’m going to say is that this post will have spoilers for “The Makioka Sisters” by Tanizaki Jun’ichirou, also known as “Light Snow” in Japan. I will be referring to the novel as “The Makioka Sisters” and the ability as Light Snow. I will be referring to Tanizaki from BSD as “BSD!Tanizaki” and real life Tanizaki as “RL!Tanizaki”.
So today I finished reading “The Makioka Sisters” and I had some thoughts regarding BSD!Tanizaki’s ability. This all started three weeks ago when I was re-watching BSD and I started to wonder why Light Snow was an illusion ability. From my understanding (before I read the novel), the plot of the story it’s based on wasn’t about anything related to that.
In order to figure things out I decided to read “The Makioka Sisters”. I found that I wasn’t wrong, but I wasn’t right either.
“The Makioka Sisters” is a story about (shocker, shocker), the four Makioka sisters and their family. The novel mainly follows their mission to find the third sister, Yukiko, a husband in pre-WW2 Japan.
I’m going to try not to spoil the novel too much because it’s be hard to do so while explaining my theory.
The sister I’m going to focus on is Taeko, the youngest. She’s a central piece to my theory.
Taeko starts the story as a doll maker who supports herself and is waiting for Yukiko to get married so she can get married to Okubata (also known as Kei-Boy), a man she tried to elope with ten years before the story. By the end she leaves Okubata and it’s discovered that she actually hasn’t been supporting herself as much as she makes it seem.
At the end of the story, O-Haru (a maid) informs Sachiko (the second oldest sister) that the old woman who Okubata is living with after he got kicked out from his family has solid evidence that Taeko has been spending Okubata’s money and using him to get things. The old woman claims that she’s telling O-Haru this not to cast doubt upon Taeko’s character, but to prove how much Okubata cares about her and wants to marry her.
Sachiko, who throughout the story has been getting increasingly resentful of her sisters for a plethora of reasons, falls into a despair of shame. She’s laments the fact that she’s been letting Taeko deceive her like this and how Sachiko hasn’t been able to rein her reckless sister in.
This sort of thing happens a few other times throughout the novel but that’s the point that sticks in my mind.
Back to BSD!Tanizaki. His ability is Light Snow (the Japanese/original name of the novel) and it allows him to create illusions by creating a holographic snow thing that I can’t be bothered to describe. Anyways, I don’t think I need to explain how it works because if you’re caught up on the anime/manga you’ve seen it by now.
It’s probably obvious by now but I think that Taeko’s “deception” (or at least what her sisters and family perceive as deception) translates to how Light Snow can hide things and create things via illusions.
The main part of the story is how the sisters have to cover up Taeko’s affairs (the one with Kei-Boy being one of the biggest). The other big part is how Taeko covers up her life, to the point where her own sisters don’t even know what’s going on.
Now, I don’t mean to hate on Taeko. I actually really like her character and how she was written. Mostly how she was written. RL!Tanizaki had a lot of skill with characters.
Now that I think about it, a lot of RL!Tanizaki’s stories have something to do with deception. Not that I’ve read any others besides “The Makioka Sisters”. But from what I’ve heard about them, they’re mostly about hiding things.
But that’s really it. I feel like I rambled too much. Anyways, the most likely possibility is that Asagiri wanted an illusion ability.
I really enjoy reading these stories so if there’s an ability you want to learn about but can’t be bothered to read about, feel free to ask me to do it for you. Chances are I’ll enjoy it.
Tl;dr: A character in “The Makioka Sisters” deceives her family which translates to BSD!Tanizaki’s ability to create illusions and deceive people. However, the most likely explanation is that Asagiri thought it would be cool to have an illusion ability.

striped shirts are worn by only children. this has been told to us many times. but i have something to say about the number of stripes what if, the number of stripes on the child's shirt is meant to be telling of how many siblings they have? one stripe is for kids with no siblings, the stripe being for themselves two stripes is for kids with one sibling three stripes for kids with two siblings and so on this is why asriel has the same number of shirt stripes as chara, as he is an only child this also means frisk has a sibling. going to add a part 2 with a theory about frisk and their sibling

#ive been rewatching episode 7 like its the only thing on youtube and made note of many things#first off. the solver can only have one host. nori mentions skyn wants to kill off all the other solver hosts (with the dds) and disregards#the idea of both uzi and doll being its current host when they get chased#plus the main solver possessions only occur when skyn is out of the picture (the fightt in ep 7 is only after n decapitates “tessa”)#solver uzi is possible too but i dont count her cause she doesn't have the yellow#personal theory is that its more an instinctual response to overheating or something and not full on possession#second off nori calls the solver cyn. how does she know that name#cyn was on earth and only showed up to copper 9 recently and i presume nori's been here her whole life#it probably wasn't the other dds cause none of them made it down and they're all more savage beasts#since cyn specifies n's team retained their personalities and that makes me think the other teams didnt#also also we should've immediately questioned tessa arriving in the same type of pod as the mds when they were revealed to not be sent by j#im running out of characters also the people who dont like when i use tags like this can bite me#murder drones#murder drones nori#artori? that sounds cool#ill probably just stick with nori though#i have so many solver heart refs now#art#episode 7#murder drones episode 7#murder drones episode 7 spoilers#using the same black for shadows as my lineart doesn't work when i have to draw thin things over it#murder drones spoilers

I have been thinking about something in the Linked Universe Au comic. In Twilight Princess when you are in Arbiter's Grounds you follow the scent of a poe soul. So, by that logic, TP Link knows that souls have a sent to them.
What would the hero's spirit smell like to Twi? Of course, there would be variants to each link respectively. (idk why but I think the "hero's spirit" would smell like cinnamon) In Shifting Shadows part 5, Wolfie could follow Dink aka Dark Link via scent. Would Dink's scent be similar to the hero's spirit? I am curious because it's not a malice-related color at all. I don't know, It could not be relevant at all here but it's a thought.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I could see the chain adjusting to this info and realize it's a Dark Link. Or maybe the chain already knows it's a Dark Link. It probably belongs to one of the two mysterious links yet to be seen. What did Dink's Link do to make it Link the Universe?
Does anyone have better info than I do?

Anyone ever think about the idea that the mimic is mimicking what it did to gregory before being trapped?
probably, I'm sure I'm not the only person to think about this. but am I going to talk about it anyway? absolutely. Okay so basically.. a couple of the mimic's voicelines are copy-pasted from Security Breach, right? While this is the first time we've seen the mimic copy anyone before, I believe most of his voicelines do come from somewhere. Sorry, that sounds vague. What I mean by that is I don't believe everything the mimic says is 100% a lie it created. For example a lot of people joke about the mimic being more whiny when pretending to be Gregory. Joking about how it's the biggest red flag because Gregory was never really that scared in Security Breach. But did it really just come up with that on its own? What if it's mimicking Gregory in the state he was in when he left? What if Gregory was that scared when dealing with the mimic? And it's not just that, I think some voicelines actually give a bit of hint to this too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Help! Something grabbed me! It won't let me go!" I feel like this line and others like it may actually describe what the mimic did. The way Gregory refers to the mimic as "that thing," and the only other 'thing' it could be pretending to be afraid of is the blob, which already tunneled out by the time Cassie gets here. And while the mimic isn't the best at keeping its story straight.. (Claiming to be running/hiding from Roxy while it's trapped under the sinkhole, though I believe that could be him trying to cover up the real Gregory attempting to speak to her, regaining control of the situation. After all if that voice line was the mimic why would Roxy run in the opposite direction of the walkie talkie to go chase him?) I feel like if the mimic was pretending it was the blob that grabbed him, he wouldn't also admit that it tunneled out later on. (I'll get to that don't worry.) Sure, this is a fabricated lie to lure Cassie, but my point is, what story is the mimic trying to create here? What is the mimic trying to claim happened to it/Gregory? I was going to bring these screenshots up later, but..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Original screenshot + edited version to see the handprint better.) The handprint on the vent outside where the mimic is trapped, with Gregory's backpack underneath it, if you haven't seen theories about it already it seems to clearly imply Gregory lured the mimic in through the vent, that's his handprint. Why I'm bringing this up here though, that handprint looks bloody, doesn't it? Maybe it's just me, maybe it's just the lighting, but I feel like that looks more like a bloody/liquid stain smear than a smear of dust or something. So what if what happened was what the mimic described? It grabbed Gregory, and didn't let him go, causing his arms to get stabbed through and bleed after he escaped through the vent. (If you can't picture what I'm saying or just want a cool visual of this happening, go see this post it's cool and basically shows what I'm talking about, I only thought of this detail because of their post, also the art is cool.)
Anyway, moving on..
Tumblr media
"That thing is here again. I gotta hide. Save me."
What if getting the mimic to that specific room wasn't all of the luring Gregory had to do? What if he periodically had to deal with being chased/hunted by the mimic while trying to get it to follow him to that area of the pizzaplex? (This is probably the most speculation, there's not a lot you can get from this line, but it's still a cool idea I think.) OR, an alternate take.. The mimic is being interrupted by the real Gregory's attempts to reach Cassie, and the mimic is using this opportunity as an excuse while it attempts to block his signal. (I've theorized about the differences between each speaking a bit before, but basically, I find it notable that the only times the real Gregory seems to get through to Cassie is when the mimic is busy/distracted/unavailable. So the mimic likely has to make an active effort to block his attempts, hence why he ends up using other signals to try to reach her, like the hacked staff bot. Again this is heavy speculation, but I find it interesting if he's basically telling the story in real-time and sort of swapping him and Gregory.)
Overall there's not a lot you can gather out of this line that I haven't already mentioned in the previous one, so let's move on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Something tunneled out.. broke everything. Now I'm stuck here!"
Before I go over this, take it with a grain of salt. Yes I think this is him referring to the blob tunneling out, causing the 'earthquake' that broke the pizzaplex to the state it's in when Cassie arrives. Considering the tunnel in the sinkhole and seeing the blob in a tunnel early in the game, this adds up. However.. I think there might be a double meaning here. It's a bit of a reach, but what if it's also referring to Gregory a bit here? "Something tunneled out," it's implied Gregory used the vent (sort of a tunnel) to escape the room the mimic is trapped in. "Broke everything," ruined the mimic's plans. "Now I'm stuck here," well, that's self explanitory. Gregory used the vent to escape, ruined the mimic's plans, and trapped it there. I also find it interesting this seems to be the final time the mimic mentions something else down there with it. (Even during its final pleas in Roxy Raceway, it only says "Save me, it's so dark down here." Nothing about that "thing" putting him in danger.) Do I think this line is specifically the mimic talking about Gregory? No, I think its main purpose is to explain where the blob went. But I do think it's possible there's a double meaning to it, intentional or not..
Like I said that's the last line of dialogue where the mimic mentions something else down there with it, so there's not a lot more to talk about. My biggest points and evidence were in the beginning tbh, it probably would've been best to cover it at the end of this post but I wanted to go over the voice lines in chronological order to when they appear in-game. I know some of the stuff I said is reaching a bit, I'm not 100% confident that'd be the correct interpretation.. but it's something to think about, that's my point. Whether I'm right or wrong I think the theory is worth considering. If you read this far, that's cool, I hope this was entertaining or had some kind of value to you. I like writing analysis stuff like this so it's always nice when other people enjoy it too. :)

...okay, so I'm probably not the first person to notice this.
But gear's earing that he points towards when he says that he did the same ritual he wanted to help kuro with already on himself before:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
actually looks pretty similar to the pieces of the necklace the count used to create the servamps:
Tumblr media
The different pieces of the necklace seem to contain one demon each and the count used them to create the servamps.
So...did the count either learn this technique from the werewolves or is he possible even originally a werewolf himself? It would explain why he's immortal, that's why I'm wondering about this.
Gear says that the ritual is used to remove spirits, could it be that the count removed his own sins using the werewolf ritual and created the demons this way? But he went too far and removed too much unlike gear who only removed one part of himself? Him removing the sins from himself would also explain why he's so weird and doesn't understand other beings. As the sin demons say, they are a natural part of being a human and we have seen multiple times that denying their existence is harmful, removing them all from you would probably lead to you not being able to relate to other people anymore.
Maybe removing all these parts of himself is also why he has no appearance. Without his demons he's not a person anymore.
The count originally being a werewolf would also explain why he has magical abilities (gear can also use magic) before other magicians existed and why he's so anxious about certain people dying. Gear talks about how his immortality makes him sad because human friends do die, but unlike the count gear seems to accept death, grieves in a heathier way than the count and is able to move on and make new friends. Could also explain why his magic and creations are all strongly tied to the (full) moon.
Another similarity is that while werewolves apparently can't reproduce gear was able to have descendants by sharing his life force (it's mentioned in chapter 135 which isn't translated yet) with a woman and through her human children tsurugi is related to gear. Sigurd explained to nicco that the magicians came to be because the count let humans drink his blood, three survived, got magical ablities and became the ancestors of all human magicians:
Tumblr media
Maybe the count is more of a werecat though. He and the sloth demon do seem to have a closer connection, even though the count's appearance changes depending on the person looking at him he does usually keep his tail and the tip looks exactly like the one of kuro's cat/lion form and similar to the the one of inner sloth's non-human form.
It was also stated multiple times that the sloth demon is the strongest. I wonder why that is. Servamp comments on the fact that being lazy is often actually a sign of depression/anxiety through kuro's arc, so maybe the count was depressed and that's why the sloth demon is the strongest? Basically the demons strength depends on how much the count suffered from the different sins? It would also explain why melancholy is so strong, I assume kuro refusing to see him no matter how many siblings he sent his way to tell him to come looking for the count made him extremely sad and probably even made him come up with the plan to have himself be killed and then put in the same body as kuro through the ritual.
I assume he was behind C3 ordering the servamps to kill him because he's the one who created the magicians and thus C3 and lily who is kind of working for him was probably the one who put the idea that the count needed to be killed into the head of his eve (aka a member of the alicein family who hold a lot of power in C3 basically since the beginning. I explained this in more detail in another post). The people from C3 even said that the count can only be killed if he wants to and yeah, kuro didn't truly kill him, but he did destroy his body and kuro seems to have met little resistance when he attacked the count. Which probably means the count wanted this to happen.
#servamp#...if the servamps/demons all came from the count and the magicians are all basically the descendants of the count#does that mean this truly is all just a huge family conflict#since basically everyone involved is somewhat related to the count?😅#Sigurd says he's related to one of the three people who drank the counts blood#I'm still wondering if mahiru is special because he might have the blood of all three bloodlines#and C3 has a rule in place that forbids all three bloodlines from crossing#probably put in place by the count or lily#and that's why akira told nobody who the father of her child was#I still like my absolute crack theory that because mahiru might have “more” of the counts blood in him that he has no fixed appearance eith#But because he's so normal everyone perceives him as normal so nobody noticed until now that mahiru looks slightly different to all of them#honestly it would explain/excuse some questionable choices made by characters who as far as we know should be good people#Like why akira didn't tell anybody who the father was#why tooru tried to avoid being seen with mahiru in school by always saying he's to busy#Why tooru told mahiru not to tell the secret to anyone else#and why mahiru was raised as mundane as possible and as far away from C3 as possible#even why tooru kept his work for C3 secret from mahiru even after mahiru made the contract#and why he still didn't tell him the name of his father#If people know your relatives they start comparing you to them#If people knew that touma was mahiru's father they might expect mahiru to look like him#If people only knew mahiru was related to akira and tooru they would expect him to look like them#If people at school only knew mahiru but never met tooru before mahiru's appearance to them might be too different from tooru#Touma saying mahiru looks exactly like tooru doesn't disprove this crack theory either btw#Touma sees mahiru as tooru 2.0 and he's not 100% convinced he's actually mahiru's father so mahiru appearing as a copy of tooru makes sense#Just like mahiru would perceive himself as looking like akira and tooru because those are the only close relatives of his he knows#Sorry but I'm having too much fun with this crack theory#the twist that raising mahiru as the “ordinary high school student” was all a plot by his family#to keep people from noticing that they don't actually agree on what he looks like is too funny to me

the parallels in dps be killing me, and it's not even the fact that the movie literally starts with neil and ends on a wide shot of todd-
but the fact that whilst neil's mother is crying, mr perry is repeating the phrase "it's alright" over and over again to her as she cries-
but when they find neil, she's saying it back to him, despite the fact that she is still crying.
