i can only imagine how greatful cooper's staff were for oliver as the show progressed.

that boy was snapping his fingers when he wanted something, and he didn't even know their names.. but thanks to his boyfriend and his boyfriend's mum, he became a well rounded member of society!!

My dumb ass keeps writing Neil Anderson instead of Neil Perry and I don't know what to do about it. It's a problem. I've had to go back and edit because of how MUCH I've done it. Anyways. Also progress on the fic is slow cause classes and finals and hahaha failing courses so it's very much on the back burner, but I will work on it more soon.

Thinking about Carpe Diem and the cinematography of falling leaves to falling snow.

Seasons as cyclical as generations. It's tapestries and banners. It’s photographs on the wall. A structure, a system; tradition in the bones of buildings and boys.

There's a choice to be made - Nolan's hollow, ceremonial Light of Knowledge, or Neil's scavenged, man-made God of the Cave?

They’re children living for the future through a lens of past. Fireside stories embraced by woodland caves. They chant, dance, and recite from a sacred book - the heirloom they claim from a father they chose.

The window is finally open, but time froze at Welton lake. Forever winter. Forever youth. A moment in time, a feeling, a community turned to dust.

It's all so fleeting. Carpe Diem. Teenage years, childhood, a lifetime in three months. It’s a tragedy of classical epics.

The tale is old, but this wound is fresh. Falling to your knees. Shouting at the sky, praying and wailing, and clutching at the earth.

But the snow never stops.

Spring is up to us.

it’s disheartening to see an overwhelming majority of white queer people fail to recognize that the communities they build so closely imitate the structures of oppression they have claimed to leave behind, while loudly proclaiming allyship for people of color.

i’ve been on a ton of different platforms now and even though i interact with a lot of trans people, i’ve noticed that i often find myself othered by trans fem communities. the exclusion is subtle because i am east asian, pretty, and passing. and because i am pretty and passing, i often receive recognition and admiration from other trans fems. and because i am east asian as opposed to someone with black or brown skin, i am often accepted into white circles.

but i am not white. and the subtle exclusion comes from my distaste of jokes that fail to account for privilege, from speaking up when white creators speak over other people of color, from simply having a different perspective

because i am not white. and i have never been.

i’ve lived my entire life being nearly accepted by the white people around me. and the subtle exclusion that has been a staple of my life hasn’t gone away because racism still exists within queer communities.

it’s not enough to be loud about fighting oppression.

you also have to fucking do it.

If anyone tries to tell you that Shakespeare is stuffy or boring or highbrow, just remember that the word “nothing” was used in Elizabethan era slang as a euphemism for “vagina”. 

Shakespeare has a play called “Much Ado About Nothing”, which you could basically read in modern slang as “Freaking Out Over Pussy”. And that’s pretty much exactly what happens in the play.
