I caved and made a character sheet for the Paeden in the AU where he grows up and stick with the Kiddads… it’s under the cut— I’m kind of hoping for feedback before I use it for anything? I just want to make sure it’s not OP/Out of character

Thinking of the more sinful side for the dnd con au of Cala a halfling looking up at this tall high end Dream and her just absolutely taking care of him when they first do it by kissing his body and basically being so gentle when she touches him- she fully dominates him the first time I feel and takes it at his pace so she expects him to only want her to jerk him off but he’s just “no. I need to be inside you-“ and she’s just “AH I SEE” and very flustered now

Gary Gygax Day & National Intern Day
Person A is an apprentice for the innkeeper in a tavern, but when the tavern gets taken over by a tavern chain, Person A’s status gets relegated to ‘intern’ and their pay gets cut. Frustrated and upset with the chain tavern company and it’s capitalist greed, they decide to join an adventuring party who make a living of conning nobles by creating problems and then demanding the nobles pay them to get rid of the problem, which leads to Person A working on a scheme to pull the same con on the chain tavern corporation. But apparently one of their adventuring party is the heir to the same corporation they have a vendetta against, Person B, who is just trying to live a life free of the expectations of their super rich family.

things i did in todays dnd session:
- worked on dice.py, which is, as the name suggests, my python script for rolling dice. added classes to track character abilities and spells and stuff so i can automatically call sigurd.spell_atk(“spell name”) to have sigurd (my wizard) roll a ranged spell attack instead of having to 🙄read numbers off my character sheet and plug them into the dice function🙄
things i did not do in todays dnd session:
- pay attention to literally anything that was happening in the campaign
- i think we fought some snakes made of stone at some point and i blasted them with mage bolt which looked sick as hell but i have no idea why we did this
- sorry andrew im sure it was really cool :(

DND HAT/Bridgerton crossover AU in which Forge is there to present his foster daughter to high society (but really it’s a con, he's there to rob Queen Charlotte) and Xenk is there to be a rake avowed bachelor too dedicated to his studies to take a wife (but secretly he’s gay and refuses to live a lie). He’s a little appalled that a fourteen-year-old is being presented to the marriage market, especially since it’s clear that her warden transparently cares more about the benefit to himself than Kira’s well-being. As such he kind of reluctantly starts to “court” the girl, while making it very clear to her that he’s got no actual interest. She’s pretty grateful for the protection and goes along with the ruse.
In walks Edgin, who’s presented his, uhhhhhh, ‘foster daughter’ Doric! Doric looks about ready to rip the ridiculous feather off her head. They’re there to rob Forge and rescue Kira.
Misunderstandings abound. Xenk absorbs Kira’s misguided anger towards her father for abandoning her and treats Edgin with disdain. Edgin, meanwhile, is about two seconds away from straight-up strangling this ADULT MAN who is courting his FOURTEEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HER YOU ASSHOLE I WILL KILL YOU WITH MY BRAIN AND THIS FORK except Regency so they do so with polite smiles and Regency era niceties.
Then Xenk wakes up in the middle of the night to Holga, covered in mud, in his room, swinging a hatchet at his head. Because Holga does not have time for Regency era niceties.

thinking about a modern AU where eddie runs a dnd youtube channel and gets announced as a guest at a con near the party…
of course they drag steve along as their designated adult to calm their parents down. steve goes begrudgingly, even let’s max and eleven dress him up as whatever they want.
they end up at eddie’s panel and steve can’t help but be a bit surprised that a popular dnd youtuber looks like that.
mike insists he wants to ask a question and makes steve come to the mic with him. when it finally gets to him, mike clears his throat and leans forward, “hi eddie! me and my friends love you, and we were just wondering if you’d be open to ever dating a fan?”
eddie grins before bringing his mic up, ‘i’d be open to it but you look a little young there’
mike looks towards steve and steve immediately freezes, knowing exactly what he’s about to say.
“oh, not me, my good friend steve here”
steve splutters, trying his best to stay calm as he pulls mike away from the microphone but he gets stopped by eddie chuckling into the mic.
‘yeah. yeah, maybe i’d consider steve. hes quite pretty, aren’t you big boy?’
maybe eddie takes steve on a silly date around the con, maybe they kiss about it ..

Modern steddie as content creators au??
Steve and Robin have a very popular podcast where they tell personal stories, rant about trending media topics, all that jazz
Eddie is a Twitch streamer who plays fantasy games, streams his DND campaigns, plays music
And maybe they collide because Eddie listens to their podcasts sometimes in the bg of his streams and during an episode Steve is talking about how Dustin introduced him to a DND streamer (so that he could finally understand the game) but Steve doesn't actually learn anything because he thinks Eddie is HOT
They move on from the topic as fast as they started it because Robin sees that as her opportunity to make fun of Steve for his taste in people
And maybe they meet irl at one of those influencer parties or at a comic con??

I feel like I’ve been able to read so many speculative fiction wlw books in the past few years that I get a little frustrated when ppl complain that wlw relationships are always sidelined in stories. So I’m just gonna make a list of the ones I’ve completed, for posterity. There are so many interesting books out there and all of these deserve more attention.
To reiterate, this is speculative fiction (sci-if/fantasy) where the primary relationship is wlw.
Ash: Chinese and fae influenced retelling of Cinderella (+Huntress, a prequel)
A Restless Truth: historical magical murder mystery set on a Titanic sister-ship. This is the second book in a series but my favorite so far
Burning Roses: European fairy-tale/Chinese legend mashup featuring older ladies
Cinderella is Dead: YA fairy tale dystopia
Crier’s War: human x android enemies to lovers political intrigue
Even Though I Knew the End: supernatural detective noir, super quick and super fun
In the Vanisher’s Palace: Viet influenced Beauty and the Beast where the Beast is a dragon lady
Juniper Harvey and the Vanishing Kingdom: middle school age mythological fantasy adventure, I wish I had this growing up
Labyrinth Lost: bruja fantasy underworld adventure
Legends and Lattes: Simple and sweet DND inspired cafe AU
Once and Future: King Arthur but in space with ladies. Wish this one had been poly
Roots of Chaos series: high fantasy with dragons and so many queers.
Strictly No Heroics: the struggles of villain henchmen
The Abyss Surrounds us/The Edge of the Abyss: kaiju pirates, enemies to lovers
The Burning Kingdoms Trilogy: desi epic fantasy, enemies to lovers
Last to Leave the Room: WFH doppleganger horror + toxic coworkers who hate each other (they really don’t)
Spear: Arthurian sapphics
Someone You Can Build a Nest In: shapeshifting monster falls for a monster hunter
The Locked Tomb: wlw necromancers in space. Enemies to ???
The Luminous Dead: spelunking thriller set on another planet—this one is fucky everyone should read it
The Memory Librarian: short stories set in Janelle Monae’s android world
The Mimicking of Known Successes: detective noir set on Jupiter—ex-lovers reunited by circumstance
The Red Scholar’s Wake: space pirates, enemies to lovers, human x spaceship
The Salvation Gambit: con-artists breaking out of a sentient prison-world ship
The Space Between Worlds: inter dimensional corporate exploitation, handler x agent mutual pining, this one is so underappreciated
The Witch and the Vampire: YA vampire x vampire hunter
This is How You Lose the Time War: everyone knows this one
We Set the Dark on Fire: YA Latine political intrigue, school rivals to lovers
If you have any others please add, I’m always looking to grow my reading list

Cutesy prompt, also derived from my life but just because I’m thinking about getting a switch after falling in love with animal crossing playthroughs lol:
Modern au, no upside down : Steve hasn’t really been one for video games he doesn’t like the jump scares and the violence there’s enough of that in real life if he turns on the news, but Robin gets him hooked on animal crossing playthroughs on YouTube and he falls in love with how comforting and straightforward the game is, you plant a seed and you see it grow to a sapling right away there’s a sense of accomplishment. Steve usually drives Dustin and the kids to their Dnd nights at a game shop and while it’s pricier than he would usually splurge on he’s been thinking about buying a switch to play animal crossing himself so he decides to go to the one game shop he knows off the top of his head, the one he takes the kids to, that just so happens to be owned by eddie who does weekly DND nights. Eddie talks with him about the pros and cons of different consoles and games and maybe suggests that if he’d like he could come over to his place to try it out first hand and maybe join him for dinner while he’s at it?
(Okay side note while I was writing this I thought of twists that could be added to it, like maybe after hearing his reasoning for liking the calmer games eddie writes a sweet low stakes type of campaign for Steve and convinces him to join them for a campaign to show him it doesn’t have to be violent or scary. Or maybe they have those play in store to try it out kind of things and eddie offers that he can try it out in the store until he’s ready to buy and Steve keeps coming back to the store under the guise of trying out the console but really just to spend more time with eddie. I could think of more but I think it has potential)
💜
Ok so I’m like Steve, I don’t play video games. I’ve played Minecraft and my favorite thing to do is farm 😂 I’ve never played Animal Crossing so my apologies if anything is incorrect! I do think this is a SUPER cute prompt though and I’m so excited to see where y’all take it! 😉
Admittedly, my love, I did not complete this prompt the way you had specified, but I felt like I hit enough of the major points and got to a good stopping place for now. Feel free to send another ask if you want me to continue! ❤️

Title Screen - Part 1
“Robin, what-” he flails as his phone is ripped from his hand.
She judges him. “Sudoku, Steve? Really?”
“I like it! What are you doing?”
“You’re gonna love this. Promise.”
He throws his hands up and waits for her to hand his phone back. When she does, it’s open to YouTube. “Trust me,” she asks. “Just watch the first video.”
He reads the title. “A video game playthrough? Robs, you know I don’t like video games.”
“I know you don’t like violent video games. This one isn’t violent, Steve. Promise.”
He narrows his eyes at her, but she’s his best friend and roommate for a reason, so he plays it as soon as she leaves the room.
When she comes back in to ask about dinner, she’s got a smug look on her face. “Fine, you were right,” he says, rolling his eyes. “It’s cute. I like the bunny.”
Robin chuckles. “I thought you might. Y’know that video game store the kiddos love? I think they’ve got it.”
“Probably,” he allows, very much not thinking about it. Or the very attractive employee who seems to always be there when he is, shopping for the kids. He sets his phone on his chest. “How’s Chinese for dinner sound?”
“I’ll marry you,” Robin says.
Steve chuckles. “Wanna call it in? You know my order.”
“Orange chicken.” She makes a face. “Yeah, I’ll call it in.”
“Thanks.” She waves him off, so as she leaves, he calls, “I’m serious! Thank you! I love you! Marry me!”
“I’ll leave you at the altar!” She calls back, and he cackles.
He plays the video again.
Three days later finds him inside the video game store. Not for him, he swears, but Dustin’s birthday is soon-ish, anyways, and he needs a present, and he had been talking about some figurine or another.
“Hey, welcome in!” Very Attractive Employee says. “Can I help you find anything?”
Steve smiles, shakes his head. “Thank you.” He walks around, doesn’t necessarily look for Animal Crossing, but doesn’t necessarily walk away when he sees it, either. He picks it up, examines the case. Robin’s got a Switch, and he knows she’d let him borrow it. The one part he’s not really sold on is the price. He sets it down, looks at it for a minute longer, as if that would make the price change.
“If you’d like to try, I can put it in the system,” Very Attractive Employee says. His voice is soft, and something about it sounds familiar.
“I dunno.” Steve sighs. “I don’t want to impose, and I know most of the beginning is a bunch of talking and naming yourself and the world, right?”
Very Attractive Employee frowns. “Have you played it before?”
“Ah… no. I, uh.” He’s strangely embarrassed to say it. “I’ve watched playthrough videos.”
Very Attractive Employee grins and motions him over to the trial station. “Yeah? YouTube, right? D’you know who?”
“Uh…” Steve pulls his phone out, opens YouTube. It’s one of the first recommended videos. “HFClub?”
“Ah.” He stills for a moment, then smiles at Steve. “Well, if you’d like to try, it’s available.” He gestures to the console. “And believe it or not, this isn’t a super high-traffic store. It can get kinda boring being the only one here. If you don’t mind me watching over your shoulder, I don’t mind you staying until I’ve gotta close up.” He grins at Steve. “Whaddya say?”
Steve smiles tentatively back, takes a seat, and picks up the device.
He was right; it takes him a good amount of time to get past the opening, but he does have fun, especially with Very Attractive Employee imitating the other characters.
When he looks up again, it’s dark outside. “Oh, shit,” he murmurs, checking his watch. Somehow he’s spent three hours playing. “Shit, man, that’s dangerous,” he laughs.
Very Attractive Employee chuckles. “I know, right?” He shifts. “I’ve seen you in here before buying other games, and you don’t hesitate. Can I ask why today was different?”
“I usually come in to buy things for these kids I used to babysit. This one is purely selfish.” He grins and stretches, grins more when he notices Very Attractive Employee’s gaze is drawn down to where his shirt has ridden up.
“Kids?” He finally asks.
Steve hums. “You might know ‘em, actually, there’s one with curly hair, usually wears a trucker hat. A redhead who will put the fear of God into you. A bitchy kid with hair that could be great-”
“Wait, wait, wait.” Very Attractive Employee waves his arms through the air. “Dustin? Max? Mike?”
“Holy shit,” Steve says, and begins to laugh. “Yeah, exactly.”
Very Attractive Employee looks at Steve for a minute before saying, “So you must be Steve!”
Steve gapes. “They talk about me?”
“Oh, man.” Very Attractive Employee chuckles. “Dustin never shuts up about you, man, he loves you.”
“Oh.” Steve stills. “I, uh. Kinda thought they just tolerated me.”
“No way. Well, maybe Mike, but you know how he is.”
Steve chuckles. “Yeah. Do you know them just from how often they come in here?”
“Oh, no. I’m their DM. Y’know, Dungeons and Dragons?”
“Oh,” Steve nods, thinks. “Eddie, right? And- fuck, what was it. Elf Club, or something?”
Eddie chuckles. “You mean Hellfire Club?”
Steve snaps and points at Eddie. “That’s the one. Man, they love you too, every time I see the brats it’s always Eddie this and Eddie that and Eddie killed our characters but it was great.”
Eddie chuckles. “That’s good to hear. Can I ask why you’re just now looking at this for yourself?”
Steve sighs. “I know the kids love your campaigns, but I don’t like anything too horror-y. I don’t like jump-scares, and it feels like most video games have some element of that. My best friend got me hooked on the videos, and I decided to try it out.”
Eddie nods. “Yeah, this is definitely a very calm game. Feel free to come back in any time to continue trying it out, though. If you want.”
Steve smiles at him. “I might just take you up on that offer.”
Fic-specific tag, once again, is the fic name (no spaces): #titlescreen and as always, my writing tag is #starambles and you can subscribe to either or both to follow along with this fic! Let me know what you want to see happen next in this ‘verse!

succession character rpg classes thoughts:
fire emblem edition: kendall - obligatory lord roman - dancer tom - knight/potentially cavalier, wanted to be a pegasus knight shiv - dark mage connor - mage or potentially a priest? i lean mage though. stewy - wyvern rider for the cool factor greg - obligatory villager
dnd edition: joke/serious: everyone is a warlock whose patron is logan and/or capitalism. serious/joke: still a pretty unplayable party. kendall - i'm inclined towards some kind of cringe monk, but i could see the argument for cringe bard roman - gotta be a bard. college of eloquence probably connor - don't know why i'm so fixed on con as a caster but sorcerer imo, though i can see wizard. wild magic would be funny and fitting tom - either a bog-standard fighter or kind of a shitty paladin (oath of devotion probably) shiv and stewy - still both warlocks to me. greg -
there's a succession dragon age au also in my mind but that's a whole other thing. not accepting constructive criticism at this time

You know the brain rot is bad when ur on holidays and ur walking around a city and can’t even enjoy it because your brains is just like… spy au this… historical au that…
Anyways, steddie Spy AU where Steve used to be a big shot spy, like top status, until he got critically injured in the field or compromised or something and now he works as a handler for this unit of young, promising spies called The Party. Maybe Steve’s spy exploits are only known under his code name? And the kids only know him as their handler and think he’s cool but not that cool. He earned their respect by stepping infront of that douchebag Hargrove during a brutal training session. Some of them, like Dustin and Lucas are convinced he's this rumored spy, while Mike is like, this guy??? The only ones who really know are Robin, who works on decoding who Steve used to work with, and Argyle, whose in research, who put it together through some seriously far fetched points. Steve thinks he’s gonna black mail him, but all it really is is pizza hang outs under threat of exposure.
Enter Eddie, who is either a low level tech guy or ex-con or just not involved at all, who runs DND out of a local games shop where the kids go to play. Steve comes around all the time to pick them up and Eddie is just like this guy is so lame, but the kids try to convince him that Steve is cool with out like, blowing cover or breaking any laws, which is impossible.
Until Eddie gets framed for something he had no hand in, either being a mole or just wrong place wrong time or whatever, and has to go on the run. The Party freaks because they know he’s clean, of course he is, they background checked him to birth but no one will believe them. But they maybe got compromised in a leak or something, so their hands are tied.
And Argyle is there, he just looks at Steve and is like “it’s time, bro.”
So Steve basically gets thrust back into the field to go hunt down Eddie, save his ass, and clear his name. Featuring gratuitous hand to hand combat, a rusty as hell Steve, a scene where someone is convinced Steve is going to die if he goes but then he just whips out the old moves, V.E.C.N.A tech run by Mr. Creel, somehow a dance at a gala, a counter intelligence only known as Eleven, and an increasingly competent Eddie, who finally has a good reason to crush on Steve and actually makes a hell of a field agent with all of his 'previously acquired skills'.
Anyways ??? Thanks for reading if you made it this far, I don't know what this is :))))))) but its haunting me :)))))) help :)))

steddie AU where Eddie is the author of some semi-popular DnD inspired books and gets invited to have his own autograph session at Comic-Con or some other convention, and Dustin of course is a huge fan and absolutely begs Steve to take him, this guy is from Hawkins, Steve, our Hawkins! You could have gone to school with him!, and Steve agrees to go because he was promised there'd be plenty of babes cosplaying Princess Leia (and if he doesn't mind ogling the Han Solo's too that's entirely his business.) And somehow, SOMEHOW Dustin convinces Steve to cosplay as one of the main characters from Eddie's books. Maybe it was blackmail, maybe it was blackmail, who knows, but Dustin is thrilled because he always though the description of the protagonist sounded vaguely like it would fit Steve, there were way too many mentions of his perfect hair to be healthy.
And of course Eddie has a slight mental breakdown when he realizes that shit, that's King Steve Harrington, in my line, cosplaying the character that I based off of him, who the fuck told him?!, because who else was going to be inspiration for his smug, dashing, cocky protagonist than his (presumably) very heterosexual high school crush?

Not sure if Green being the new guy he's also new to DnD but either way I cant help but imagine him panicking everytime a session goes off the rails or something extreme happens (mainly to his character).
Some examples being...
Green: Wait we fell from a waterfall!? Are we dead!?
Shadow: Youre just unconscious.
Green: But how!?
....
Shadow: Roll a con save
Green: I got a 10
Shadow: Alright, the massage from the Gerudo causes you to fall asleep.
Green: Wait my friends are somewhere else and could be in danger and Im just taking a nap!? What kind of knight am I!?
....
Shadow: Green and Vio roll initiative.
Green: WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE'RE FIGHTING? ARENT WE SUPPOSED TO BE FRIENDS!?
Shadow: Consider it character development.
Vio: Do your worst Green. *smirks*
Green: *gives Red and Blue the "Help me" look*
Tumblr media
He’s not new to DND as a concept, but he’s never played a campaign before.
