KimKenta WIP snippet

anyone want some Kenta whump that doesn't involve Tony

I’m hmmmm maybe halfway through this draft and should be able to post it by the end of the week, unless I keep adding more scenes, which could happen.

Kim reaches his hand out and grabs at the back of Kenta’s hoodie, yanking him towards the window. “Give me the gun,” he growls, and this time Kenta obeys. Kim covers Kenta’s back, firing towards the guards, while Kenta squeezes past him. It’s inelegant—Kenta struggles through the window, and Kim finds himself wishing they had special equipment with them, like in a spy movie. A smoke grenade, for the guards. A grapple hook, for a smooth getaway. Or perhaps a partner that he could let himself completely trust. On any given day, it's a coin toss as to whether Kim is more comfortable around Winner or Kenta. Winner at least has clear motivations. He wants money, and Pete has plenty of it. But Kenta remains a closed book to Kim. He says he's not interested in redemption, or forgiveness, and Kim can't figure out what it is that he's after. Kenta tugs at Kim’s sleeve once he’s outside, and Kim swings back out of the window. He slides the gun neatly into Kenta’s shoulder holster and watches as Kenta's breath catches in his throat. His metallic, coppery scent is stronger than usual tonight, and it fills Kim's nose in an almost unpleasant way. They clamber downwards, holding onto the concrete ledge and dangling off the side of the building. Kim takes a deep breath, looks over at Kenta, and nods once, before letting go. It’s a painful fall—as much as the dense bushes break the impact, Kim knows he’ll feel this for days. But his limbs are all in one piece, if not his dignity; he rolls out of the bushes with leaves still clinging to him. Kenta is on hands and knees on the ground, breathing heavily, like the fall took it out of him. He's got one hand pressed tightly to his side, and Kim feels an unexpected, cold sense of dread trickle down his spine when the man doesn’t get up. A car skids to a halt on the street in front of them and honks twice. Dean. “Come on,” Kim whispers, hooking his hand under Kenta’s arm and pulling him to his feet, dragging him under the cover of the trees before the guards can spot them. Kenta stumbles unsteadily and leans into Kim, like he can't support his own weight, and that's when it fully clicks. “Damnit, Kenta, were you shot?” “… I’m fine,” Kenta replies hoarsely.

ppl reblogging this like “yeah it’s normal for ppl to talk about mpreg in fandom” like no that’s not what i mean. mpreg is a fandom thing, of course it’s going to come up. but have you ever gone into an upcoming season of your show bracing yourself for the very real possibility of mpreg happening. is mpreg a daily occurring discussion for a large portion of the fandom. are masses of people analyzing gifsets and photos on a regular basis to determine if mpreg has already secretly happened. i originally posted this in my fandom tag and immediately got an anon asking where i stand on the mpreg.

does your fandom argue about whether or not it would be in-character and aligned with the story’s themes to have the main character get mpregged onscreen or are they normal

Please tell me your opinion on pregnant Babe? I’m curious

I enjoy the bit, but personally I’m not into pregnancy in any aspect, so I’m not pinning my hopes on actually seeing Babe be pregnant onscreen.

I haven’t finished the novel yet, so I can’t say whether I feel like it would match Babe’s character or not. With that said, I do know that people’s decisions on wanting to get pregnant can change—I’ve seen it with a person I’m close to who said they never wanted to have children, pregnancy was a big fear of theirs, and then they changed their mind after a miscarriage, where they went through genuine grief at the loss and ended up trying for a kid (and having one) after that. And I love their kid to death. I still don’t want to have one or raise one myself, but I can accept that their experience is different from mine.

Which is to say—if Babe were to change his mind because his life has changed, I wouldn’t find it unrealistic. Just because I can’t relate doesn’t mean I can’t understand.

But even still, like, I can’t even look at people’s baby bump pictures on socials, I have to cover the screen—I’m so serious when I say pregnancy makes me uncomfortable LMFAO. Y’all are not gonna catch me asking to see Pavel with a baby bump, as much as I think he’d enjoy it himself.

I do really love the thought of Babe and Charlie adopting Andy tho, esp after they told Andy they’d help him in S1. I think Pit Babe has a lot to say about found family, and it would be nice to see that continue in S2. We’ve seen how damaging and abusive foster parents like Tony can be, so I would like to see the flipside of that, with Babe and Charlie adopting a kid with the intention of giving them a loving home.

But I also love how a large portion of the fandom treats pregnant Babe like a chew toy that they won’t let go of, it’s a lot of fun imo. I’m capable of covering the screen when there’s something I don’t want to see.

tl;dr I don’t have a personal need to see pregnant Babe or any pregnant character in anything ever, but I do think these conversations are part of what define Pit Babe fandom.

The confirmed PeteKenta backstory is just making my KimKenta feels worse tbh, now that I know that Kim is 100% Kenta’s type. Like I’m sorry but that man is attracted to justice. I hope he burns when he looks at Kim’s goodness. I hope he craves Kim’s sunlight after a lifetime spent in the shadows. I hope he thinks of Kim as one more thing he can never have.
