Fictober23 Prompt: 4 - "Do you even know what this means?"

Tim stared at his family with pure exhaustion before letting out a sigh while covering his face with his hands because of the worried looks they were sending him after his long rant.

It had all started with a stupid school project. It was just supposed to be a stupidly simple school project. Did he think of the whole thing as the greatest nonsense project his school has ever come up with? Yes. Did he still do it? Yes. He needed the extra credits, because of some stupid meetings he had missed other projects which was the entire reason he took part in this one.

Maybe he should have tried buying his grade out of it like all the other snobbish rich kids but then he would feel guilty and the moment Alfred found out, he would have to life with the disappointed™ look. Something he really didn't want to deal with. So instead he took part in this stupid ancestry project his school had organized.

But when he had allowed the school to send in his DNA he certainly did not expect the result he got back. Because when he opened the email, he noted that it was addressed to someone named Danny Fenton not Tim Drake, he didn't even read the rest really. That should have been his first warning.

His second warning was when he had hacked into the that DNA testing facility to actually get his results back and then found a note on his data file about a near 100% DNA match to one Danny Fenton which caused them to assumed that Tim was Danny and just had sent in his DNA a second time after, he peaked through his finger onto the screen, 5 years. That should have been his second warning.

But no, Tim had actively ignored all the warnings and decided to dig into who this Danny Fenton was. Because there were so many possibilities of how they could match but only so little to explain the time difference between them sending in the DNA samples. For dear good Tim hoped to all things that there wasn't someone else to have attempted to clone him before Ra, no worse even, he hoped HE wasn't the clone in this situation.

Really he didn't want to add existential crisis to all the problems and cases he already had to deal with.

So what does one do best when they learn there was someone with nearly the same DNA you have? He looked that someone up. So that was what Tim did next. He had spent nights looking up anything he could find, summarizing all the information he found, branching off when he found other concerning stuff and then stewed in some frustration of the incompetence of some people when discovering other facts.

In the end Tim compiled all the data he had found into a 30 slides long power point. That he had presented to his family and was awaiting their reaction. Bruce had grunted earlier and the demon brat had huffed out something in between slight 25 and 26 earlier. Jason had muttered something right at the beginning and Dick had stayed quiet the entire time, so did Cass. Steph hadn't said a thing either and Duke looked just puzzled.

"Do you even know what that means?" Demon brat finally broke the silence, causing Tim's eye to twitch before aggressively pointing to his last slide still on the presenter.

"Yes, I do know what this means. I have listed all possibilities right here if you haven't noticed. And i explained possibility three, four and six on slide-"

"Replacement. I don't think that's what the brat means." Jason cut in and Tim glared at him.

"Timmy, when was the last time you slept?" Dick carefully asked and Tim directed his glare at him.

"I believe Master Timothy hasn't slept for about 72 hours now." Alfred added in with that disapproving stare of him and time looked away stubbornly. How was the amount of sleep he got relevant right now? There was a possibility of him being a clone or someone having cloned maybe even years before he started to follow B around as a kid with a camera.

Bruce let out a sigh and Steph appeared to try to hide a chuckle leaning on Cass shoulder. "He must be lacking sleep if he doesn't see the most obvious possibility considering the time line he presented on slide 18."

"Oh so, I am not the only one thinking he is missing another obvious possibility?" Duke asked and once more Tims eye twitched. Getting fed up with his family, Tim huffed and crossed his arms, glaring at them all.

"And what is it that I am obviously missing?"

"The screenshot of the mail you put in slide 3 stated that it's not a 100% match but 89%. In addition it stated in the last line a suspected possibility of a familiar relation. I am disappointed, Drake. That you would miss something this obvious."

"What?" Tim whirled around going to the slide to reread the mail.

"Considering that I am pretty sure, we don't have any sort of cloning case here Tim." Dick started his voice now slightly laced with Humor and Tim narrowed his eyes at his older brother over his shoulder. "You just discovered that you had a twin, that we probably still go to rescue."

Tim's mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water. He did not know what to say and before he could even catch up with what his brothers had said Alfred was already behind him pushing him towards the elevator.

"It is time for you to get some sleep Master Timothy. I am sure Master Bruce and the others will be perfectly able to handle the rest of the situation with the information you compiled. You can join them after you have rested."

You're Otome Tohoten and you just got there with your wonderful wife Ichijiku and your child creature Nemu that some pink freak got you.

The childs brother is there btw and while you expected him to be glaring daggers at you he's too busy killing self proclaimed rival Ichiro with his eyes because in Samatokis mind Nemu just joined Chuuohku because of him, all due to the same pink freak who ended up ruining the old partnership they had.

Guess what more! As if this wasn't enough for Samatoki his fucking ex Sasara Nurude is there with his newest husband Rosho Tsutsujimori. Guess who made their relationship crumble too. Exactly, the same pink freak.

But he's not the only one having to deal with seeing an ex here. Oh no. Kuko, Ichiros ex, is also there and the tension between the two is almost visible in the air. I wonder who made the two break up, too. However, all this young romantic drama is too tiring for you, so you look away.

Kuko came with Jyushi and you're not sure what their relationship is, but perhaps that's what is sort of making Ichiro on edge. More importantly, Jyushis dad, Hitoya also came and you are quite sure there is something off about the looks him and Jakurai are exchanging. Surely they're not exes, too.

Most importantly, talking about Jakurai, didn't the same pink freak betray him while they were on a unit together and killed his child?

Oh yeah by the way the pink freak, Ramuda, is there.

With his two boyfriends.

One of which is your son by the way.

One of the win of Jurassic World 2 was to extract the dinos from the island and I'm sure Chaos Theory is going to exploit this fact as much as it can ! Thank Dreamworks and Netflix. See you in May !

It took me quite some time to learn how to draw chubby characters but it's so satisfying to have eventually. ( *`u*) (I mean, there's still so much to learn, but still.)

Having a chubby main protagonist is so wonderful to have. And a good kid at that. (Ngl I'm attracted to kindness. haha So of course it's very important to me that he's fat AND kind.)

Also design-wise, I personally think it fits his character so well. Soft and huggable, shaped like a friend. Thick arms to hug people with snuggly. Body wide like a shield. etc. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And I just really like to capture these elements when I draw him as an adult. Also that it's just fun to draw.

Simply personal thoughts about it, nothing against any other ways he's being portrayed by others of course.

PJO Godly DNA Theory:

So as far as I know, in the books its never really explained past "gods dont have DNA" and I mean with some "godly magic" handwaving I guess you could make that make sense but I have a better theory.

First the other theories:

The gods have no DNA and demigods only have half their DNA

Problems: relies entirely on hand-wavy "godly magic" for everything to work, doesn't really explain anything. Also how does legacies work then? since the demigods don't have any godly DNA, they just pass down their human DNA.

2. The gods do have DNA just like humans do

Problems: Incest/Inbreeding makes this one pretty controversial, but beyond the obvious inbreeding issues it makes more sense scientifically.

3. My theory: When gods assume human form they create a fully human form which includes DNA, but since they assume human form independent of other gods, there are no inbreeding/incest worries beyond half-siblings

Explanation: We know that the human form most of the gods are seen in is not the base/natural form of the gods, instead they take the human form because witnessing the gods' true forms will kill any mortal or semimortals (unless you have a badass "talk your soul back from the dead girlfriend). Since the these forms are their true forms instead of the mortal ones, the mortal forms don't necessarily have any DNA relations between gods. The gods form the same or at least similar forms everytime they look mortal which leads to a similarity between their demigod children, that does not necessarily apply to their godly children. Which is why demigod children of Zeus may all look similar but they won't have the same similarities with hermes.

What does this mean: What it means is that unless you share a godly parent (or are related on the mortal side of things) you don't have to worry about dating because you are no more (biologically) related than with a random human off the street. It provides a better explanation than simply "Have no DNA" since DNA is such a vital part of every living thing, and substituting it with handwaving "godly magic" is boring.

This is essentially fancied-up whining about Jews not accepting Jesus. It all goes with David Icke's conspiracy theory that Judaism was created in Babylon by reptilian entities.

The Gold Order Seraphei-Seraphin reptilian Omicron Race from D-10 Lyra-Vega began to digress and became known as the “Fallen Seraphim”, the forefathers of the contemporary D-10 Orion-Drakonian Fallen Angelic Legion.

Fancy way of saying "Jews are demonic." Old antisemitic bullshit with a space-age paint job.

The fallen ones began their quest for universal dominion with the intention of destroying all races but their own and claim dominion of out Time Matrices.

Fancy way of saying "Jews want take over the world." Typical Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion bullshit.

Through removing the 12th DNA Strand Template form their genetic blueprint, the Annu-Elohim successfully blocked the Density-5 Breneau Founders races from incarnating into their race line, so they were freed to create a legion of self-contained Fallen Angelic dominion forces within or Time Matrix.

Conversion rhetoric - you can "fix" your "bad" DNA by accepting New Age doctrine.

And YOU, earthling humans are distracted by the Anti-Christ (power trigger elites, governments), by a sequence low frequency wave of the American 2024 election movement/show involves modern DNA highjacking program.

New Age to normal person translation: "Biden is part of the Jewish agenda!" More Protocols-derived nonsense.

All in all, things haven't really changed much; they're still spouting the same antisemitic conspiracy bullshit they've been spouting for years.

It was so hard to write that chapter of Even Though You're Kryptonian, and try to figure out what the audience would need to know (assuming that most of the audience didn't have biology fresh on their minds). I ended up summing it to "okay, the audience needs to know that blood is important, and that the trait is maternally passed" and also "the audience needs to know this comes down to quantum information, which can't be cloned". When Nia says "skip the science", that is because I took out full paragraph explanations that were originally written there when I went back to editing 🤣 Buuuut this is tumblr, so I'll summarize here!

Quantum cloning is actually impossible (and would break the universe if it were possible), which Lena notes. On the TV show, they say they need Kara's DNA, and then get really sad when it's destroyed... but Lena is a scientist, replicating DNA is super easy, she definitely would've done that before loading the device!! So in my fic, we're going with quantum signatures, because the sadness around needing to reset the device to fight the phantoms makes sense.

The stable marriage problem (also called the "stable matching problem") is an actual thing in algorithms, with applications in economics. It's not specific to marriage - you can use similar algorithms to optimize which schools students attend, for instance. And it's always solvable, given certain conditions, with one of those conditions being that the two groups are distinct (like colleges are group 1, students are group 2 - a college can't attend a college & a student can't attend a student). If you don't have distinct groups, it turns into the stable roommate problem, which is not guaranteed to be solvable.

So basically my headcanon is that Krypton would look at algorithms and say "We can't have gay marriage, that's not algorithmically efficient!" because Krypton is the type of screwed up society that thinks everything should be done by algorithm.

Chloroplasts are organelles in plants. (Organelles are just organs for cells - instead of hearts and livers and kidneys, cells have things like mitochondria and nuclei and endoplasmic reticula.) Mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell? Well, so are chloroplasts (in plants!).

Lena at some point on the TV show tells the group that Reign's cells are more like plant cells, which Kara confirms as how kryptonians convert sunlight to energy (which is what a chloroplast does). But I say they're not quite chloroplasts because they have to use a different dye - kryptonians aren't green. Lutein is a yellow dye in plants (think fall leaves) that could probably be masked by the natural melanin in human skin. So that's what I made as the thing that causes kryptonians to give off a quantum signature - the conversion of sunlight to power.

Organelles really are passed from the mother (egg) to the child. Sperm doesn't have room for much besides DNA. (Though for reasons not yet explained, kryptonian biology is going to work a little differently than Lena expects.)

As for sulfates, that's just a category of salt, and they're plentiful in the ocean. I needed something that killed libido... unfortunately, most of the real stuff that would kill libido are things like alcohol or opioids, and I didn't want kryptonian kids running around stoned all the time. But salt can contribute to high blood pressure, which can lower libido - sooooo let's just pretend that kryptonians are particularly likely to experience this side effect, while not being killed by blood pressure.
